267: The Man Who Saved Rorke's Drift
Send me a message
Chris Green is The History Chap; telling stories that brings the past to life.
The film Zulu made the Battle of Rorke's Drift legendary, but it turned its most important defender into a footnote.
In the 1964 classic, James Langley Dalton appears as a quiet, effete commissariat clerk who hands out ammunition and fires not a shot, and somehow ended up with a Victoria Cross.
The real story, however, is far different, and far more exciting.
