- 0:00He was here before all the Christian something. Now I'm working on what's going
- 0:09on y'all weird ye once again? Back is the incredulous in trade Communicados that
- 0:17means three people communicated in Latin, Sir, you learn something new today?
- 0:21You feel me? Doesn't mean that, dang dog yo, you feel me?
- 0:27B I was about to repeat, but yeah, man, were back
- 0:31again after a whirlwind couple of months. Basically, yeah, facts, life
- 0:40has been beating the ship out of all of us, man, interrupting everything
- 0:43we want to do in life, as it always does. Facts, But
- 0:47you know, we gotta keep trucking, you know, and we back,
- 0:50so you already know what's going on. Well you're temporarily back. You're better
- 0:54going another another run tour. Hey man. The last couple of months from
- 0:59me, dog, I had so many things going on. But yeah,
- 1:02I'm gonna be visiting Orlando for about a week, man. But it's dope.
- 1:04It's very exciting. I'm gonna see, you know, some old friends.
- 1:08I'm get to hit some old theme parks. I got an interview with
- 1:12here to the Grand Radio the Loia on Saturday to ninth, So that's gonna
- 1:19be dope, man, I'm super excited, though, super excited, try
- 1:22to help dope. And the last time we tapped in, you were getting
- 1:25ready to go to a w wrestling show. Yeah yeah, Yo. Honestly,
- 1:30bro, that was super dope man, because you know, long story
- 1:34short man. You know, me and my fiance, we you know,
- 1:38we'll watch shows and stuff periodically, and uh, we kind of stumbled onto
- 1:42this show, Heels on Stars. If y'all haven't heard of it, check
- 1:46it out. But basically it's a show about, you know, a local
- 1:49wrestling company that was gifted to well, I guess you can't say gifted because
- 1:56it was a crazy circumstance how they received it from their father, but you
- 2:00gotta watch it to find that out. But basically, they're carrying on the
- 2:04legacy of his wrestling company. And you know, you just kind of watched
- 2:07the show. Do you see all the like intricacies of you know, wrestling
- 2:13and the business side of it, and you know people how they maintain their
- 2:16characters and the behind the scenes drama of trying to grow it. It's all
- 2:21that kind of aspect of it's super dope. But anyways, the show got
- 2:24very interesting to myself and my fiance me being already a wrestling fan and my
- 2:30fiance actually being somebody that always was kind of like, you know, it's
- 2:34so fake, it's so fake, you know, and you know, obviously
- 2:37any wrestling fan knows that, like the fake word is just something you don't
- 2:39really say, Like we already know what it is. We're enjoying the show,
- 2:44you know what I mean, It's not fake, it's predetermined exactly exactly.
- 2:49So anyways, she got to kind of see it from you know,
- 2:52that standpoint, and so a w They had a show in the luth A
- 2:58couple of weeks ago, and I had been eyeing the show for a few
- 3:04weeks before I went out to Massa in Virginia, and I was kind of
- 3:07like, you know, lots going on, but if I could make it,
- 3:09I'll try to go. And literally brouh Day of, you know,
- 3:15my fiance she had she was on call for work, and I was like,
- 3:19Yo, these tickets are great, bro, like we gotta go to
- 3:22Prices was still good, you know, like AW is still kind of building
- 3:24itself up, so the tickets aren't wild, and so you know, day
- 3:30of, you know, I went upstairs to her and I'm you know,
- 3:32we talked about it, and I was like, yo, I'm about to
- 3:35body's tickets. So I just bought them and I was like, yo,
- 3:38I know you're on call, but we just gonna have to make it work.
- 3:39And so we went there brou We had to check in her bag,
- 3:43like to the front desk and everything like and let them know, like,
- 3:46hey, you know we called. They said we could bring a laptop if
- 3:49we checked the bag in, but we're gonna see this show, you feel
- 3:51me, And so we checked their bag in. Thank god, she didn't
- 3:54get any calls. Brush she was able to enjoy the entire show and you
- 4:00know what I mean. And so then you know, by the time it
- 4:01was over, bro, Like, as we were walking out, I was
- 4:04like, yeah, I gotta go to the bathroom. Mind you. We
- 4:06had went to the merg station, but the line was kind of along and
- 4:10I didn't really see anybody I knew, because mind you, I don't follow
- 4:13wrestling the way I used to follow wrestling, but since I started watching this
- 4:15show, I just had this itch, you know what I mean. I
- 4:17was like, bro, I gotta go to a wrestling match. And so,
- 4:20you know, anyways, I go to the bathroom and I come back
- 4:25and I didn't see anybody I know, but she ends up surprising me with
- 4:29the a w T shirt and then she had got her the Billy gun like
- 4:33Sissor met shirt and yeah she hit the merged store. Yeah, I see
- 4:40him in the airport once. That's that's that man right there. Yeah,
- 4:43it was super dope brouh. But yeah, man, great experience and I
- 4:47mean honestly brou for both of us. We paid like fifty five bucks and
- 4:50I was able to like sit like in a row where I've never been able
- 4:55to sit for a wrestling match, you know what I mean, Like like
- 4:58man, super super dope, bro super dope. That's a big thing behind
- 5:03it. And you know, if you really get to know wrestling and you
- 5:08get to know the heels, the heels or the bad guys, you get
- 5:13to know the baby face, the baby face of the good guys, and
- 5:15you get to know what the pop is. Yeah, exactly what's the pop?
- 5:18Yeah, the audience going off once they once they do something, whether
- 5:24it's it's announcing a fight or fighting or something, that pop when you're there
- 5:30and that audience goes off, that's the most important that that's the best part
- 5:35And that and that's the small thing that's part everybody. That's the part that
- 5:40I forgot to mention. We went there with Robin basically like hey, and
- 5:44I didn't I've been trying not to say my fiance's name, but anyways,
- 5:46y'all know now. But we went there with her basically like, you know,
- 5:51against wrestling from a standpoint of like it's fake to her walking out buying
- 5:57T shirts, like, yo, there's a pay per view the Sunday,
- 6:00you're trying to watch it, you know what I'm saying. Like she was
- 6:02transformed that night into like somebody that will definitely go back to another wrestling match,
- 6:08And that was the dopest part. Yeah, wrestling is definitely one of
- 6:11those things that if you just let yourself get caught in the moment. It's
- 6:15to me, it's kind of like Halloween Horny Knights, Like I'm not really
- 6:17scared when I go, but I let myself get wrapped up in that moment
- 6:21so I can enjoy it. You know what I'm saying. I like I
- 6:25like the fact that, you know what I'm saying, I'm I'm putting myself
- 6:28in that mindset like, oh man, you know this is like a hunted
- 6:30thing or whatever, and like you enjoy it a little more that way.
- 6:33It's the same thing with wrestling, like if you just go and just take
- 6:36it for what it is a form of entertainment. Same thing a movie does,
- 6:40same thing a show, does you know what I'm saying. Every That's
- 6:43how I am a scary movies, like I allow myself to get scared exactly,
- 6:46Yeah, yeah, exactly. If you're just receptive to taking it in
- 6:50and pause, you enjoy it, you know what I'm saying. That's why
- 6:54you know. But that's that's perfect segue into a topic that I wanted to
- 7:00discuss. And as far as my bad real quick before you say that.
- 7:04Yeah, And it's kind of kind of lead into that too, because I've
- 7:08seen Joe Rogan. He always be talking about wrestling, like in little clips
- 7:12that I see because I'll see him. He pops up a lot on my
- 7:15TikTok, and I like a lot of the stuff. As far as the
- 7:17clips and everything. I've listened to his show a few times. I'm not
- 7:19like a like a crazy follower that I'm listening when it drops and everything.
- 7:25But yeah, if I got some time, I'll listening here and there,
- 7:28I pick and choose which and usually like the episodes that I think I'm gonna
- 7:31like, I do, like you know what I'm saying. So I always
- 7:34see him talking down on wrestling so much, and it's just so crazy to
- 7:38me that somebody like as hard working as him that has interacted with so many
- 7:42wrestlers, somebody that is a comedian too, so he understands that type of
- 7:47grind, Like I just don't understand how he just belittles wrestling so much.
- 7:53Like I feel like somebody like him would have the respect for it to say,
- 7:57Yo, it's not my bag, but I respect what's going on there,
- 8:01you know what I mean? Right, Yeah, And no, no,
- 8:07no, I was gonna say. I mean, I was just gonna
- 8:09say that I agree with you from a standpoint of Like it's like we always
- 8:13talk about how as creators you respect other creators, you know what I mean.
- 8:20Like it's like, yeah, I'm not a comedian, but I know
- 8:22the grind of having to chase your dream and deal with you know what I'm
- 8:28saying, all of the the hard parts of that. So I may not
- 8:33know the comedy route, but I can empathize and I can relate to you
- 8:37from a standpoint of like, you know what I'm saying, you had to
- 8:41grind it out, you know, And so yeah, yeah, I agree
- 8:45with you. I don't know how he can kind of downplay it, yeah,
- 8:48And what I want to tap into was the skill of it. And
- 8:54what makes these great wrestlers like Hulk, Hogan, the Rock Stone Cold,
- 9:00all these classic legendary wrestlers who they were is because they were able to develop
- 9:07these characters that when they wanted you to love them, you love them,
- 9:13and when they wanted you to hate them, you hated them. And I
- 9:16think that's one of the biggest things that goes unseeing like yeah, like it's
- 9:20predetermined. Yeah, it's not like one hundred percent live action fighting, but
- 9:24it takes a lot of skill for them, for these these wrestlers and these
- 9:30people to generate these characters that when you go in an arena with forty fifty
- 9:35thousand people for all of them to react that pop right so and real quick,
- 9:41just to energy. It goes hand in hand with comedy, where it's
- 9:45a thing where you have to figure out how to get to that skilled point
- 9:50where you're doing that effectively. And just like comedy, bad wrestling is hard
- 9:56to watch the same way bad comedy is hard to watch a big time that's
- 10:01even another way how it goes together where it's like, wow, you can't
- 10:03appreciate somebody eliciting that reaction from a crowd like that when they know it's fake,
- 10:09like they know it's not it's not a legit fight, but they're still
- 10:13coming and they're still getting shocked at what happens, like facts and that that
- 10:18taps into like the Hog Hogan Joe Rogan episode and they were talking about where
- 10:24he came back as the WWE as Hollywood Hogan as the nWo Hogan, you
- 10:31know, and and he was gonna come and the Rock was gonna challenge him
- 10:35in WrestleMania. He said that he was like coming in to be grimy,
- 10:41Like that's when he like he was in the ambulance. No, they put
- 10:45Rock in the ambulance, and then Hogan got into semi smashed the ambulance.
- 10:50He was saying how they got the Rock out in time, but like he
- 10:52was like he was made himself the worst dude for everybody to hate him.
- 10:56And he said when he came into that arena, they fucking love them,
- 11:01and he's Damn. He's like, this is not what we're supposed to go
- 11:03on, Like the Rock supposed to be the good guy, and he will
- 11:07still manage the turnery. That's when like they held hands and he pulled the
- 11:11Rock and talk some shit in the Rock fucking Rock botted them and like that
- 11:16takes skill in the moment in front of the cameras, in front of them,
- 11:20like live like that for you to be able to fix it. Yea,
- 11:26all the way the direction is supposed to go, that's not scripted,
- 11:30that's not predetermined. That's the skill of the person. And for y'all that
- 11:33are that are lost as far as wrestling goes, like the biggest event in
- 11:37wrestling is WrestleMania, which is basically like the super Bowl in wrestling. It
- 11:43literally has higher attendance than the super Bowl. It does bigger numbers like than
- 11:48the super Bowl a lot of times, Like it's crazy how much money the
- 11:52WrestleMania brings in. And the thing that happened was Rock, the Rock and
- 11:58Hulk Hogan had a match where the Rock was the good guy, everybody was
- 12:01sharing them and Hulk Hogan was the bad guy. But the day they went
- 12:05to wrestle at WrestleMania, just the build up of the story and everything.
- 12:11Somehow when they went out there, people were cheering for Hulk Hogan even though
- 12:16he was the bad guy, and booing the Rock. So they literally had
- 12:18to on the fly at just the whole match and change the whole route of
- 12:24how they were going to get to the finish and adjusted to how the crowd
- 12:28was reacting, because if they just kept going with the quote unquote script they
- 12:33had in their head, it wouldn't have worked because people wasn't cheering the guy
- 12:35that they were expecting to cheer. So that's what Joe saying, like to
- 12:41do that on the fly, you have it's a perfect storm of two super
- 12:45experienced guys at the height of their game figuring out like they know what the
- 12:50crowd wants slash. They're good enough to realize like it's fluid, and it
- 12:54goes right into I'm glad you mentioned earlier, Joe. The thing I shared
- 12:56on Instagram about Michael Jackson talking about how you can't just write a fire song.
- 13:03You can't just sit down and say like, oh, I'm gonna he
- 13:05was saying, like when he wrote Billy Jean, like the thing that led
- 13:09him on that song was he just wanted to do a song with a really
- 13:11dope basseline and the baseline came to him first, you know, the baseline
- 13:16in the hook, and he was like building the song from there, and
- 13:20then the interviewer was kind of asking him, like, yo, but how
- 13:22did you think of that? And he's like, bro, it it's just
- 13:26what came. It's just what the song needed, is just what the song
- 13:28was at the time, like, and that's exactly how I feel about making
- 13:31music. It's like the reason why you gotta be in the studio working is
- 13:35because you don't know when that's coming, you know what I mean. Like
- 13:39you could sharpen the you could sharpen the sword, you know what I mean,
- 13:41But you don't know when you're gonna slice it, you know what I
- 13:43mean. And that's where you're the thing about being an artist that I said
- 13:48before of like as artists were just trying to be right once you know what
- 13:52I'm saying, Like, you're just trying to make that perfect formula to make
- 13:56it happen once you know that. That's that's that and that's that proverbial break,
- 14:01you know what I mean. Like the thing that's gonna propel you to
- 14:03that next level to be able to do art more freely, which is,
- 14:07you know, without the boundaries of money and you know and other things that
- 14:11you got in a way. Yeah, yeah, now you know what,
- 14:16And I damn I should have sent it. I send it something. I
- 14:20saw something on the Graham that's like you don't and it was something that we
- 14:24tap into a lot that you don't need tragedy to create without and you still
- 14:30trap into that creativity of tragedy. I should have saved it. It's funny,
- 14:35Bro, That's it's crazy that you said that, because it goes perfectly.
- 14:37And it's something I've been thinking about a lot lately because even earlier I
- 14:41posted something on my story and I just snuck in like a song of me
- 14:46rapping like back in the day. Yeah, I saw that I need it.
- 14:48I knew that was you, and I threw it in there because,
- 14:52like, Bro, I found that song randomly and shout out to my boy
- 14:56and Mike Man. It was dog. Literally, I think it was probably
- 15:01my last song that I recorded, like as a rapper. You know what
- 15:03I'm saying, like how to be like twenty sixteen or something like that.
- 15:09But like I found the song randomly and I sent it to him, like,
- 15:13yo, I can't believe I found this because shout out to Dolore again,
- 15:16buddy, that's gonna interview Quincy. He knows Mike too, like I
- 15:20met I met Dolore through Mike, so when I'm at Dolore, he knew
- 15:26me as a rapper, like originally, you know what I mean. And
- 15:28he was a big fan of what I was doing as far as rapping goes,
- 15:31and that songs in particular, like the verse that I spent on that
- 15:35song. He always loved that verse because like just the way I laid it
- 15:39out and stuff. And so when I found it, I sent it to
- 15:41Mike and I hit up Deloria, like, Yo, it's crazy I found
- 15:45this song. I thought about him when I heard it. But dog,
- 15:48I've been like stuck on that song, like I've been listening to it like
- 15:52in my car a lot, you know what I mean. And I'm like
- 15:54trying to dissect it, and I'm like, nah, bro, this this
- 15:58is a banger, Like you know what I'm saying. Like the song is
- 16:00fired, the bars are fired, the versus are like everything about it is
- 16:03fired. And it goes into what you were saying, Joe, like I
- 16:08was feeling before, Like like, bro, I can't rap no more because
- 16:12that energy was coming from a different place, you know what I'm saying,
- 16:15Like that's how That's how I was aligning it in my head, Like I
- 16:18was thinking in my head like these are the situations slash circumstances I was in
- 16:25when I was a rapper, and like the situations I'm in now. It's
- 16:29like I can't even imagine writing shit like that, you know what I mean.
- 16:33But at the same time, when I was rapping at that time,
- 16:34I didn't think that's how I was writing at the time either, you know
- 16:37what I'm saying, Like I was still just trying to figure it out.
- 16:41But I'm listening to it now, like damn, bro, like I was.
- 16:44I was better than I thought at that time, you know what I
- 16:45mean. And like he was talking about Joe, like you don't need that
- 16:51like triumph for the turmoil or whatever. It just kind of goes to the
- 16:55thing I was saying about the Michael Jackson thing, like it all connects.
- 16:56Is like the Michael Jackson thing was like, no, you just need to
- 17:00be present for it and let the music lead what I'm saying. One of
- 17:07the things that I always think about that, you know, really kind of
- 17:11shifted the way I thought when it came to tapping into it or tapping into
- 17:15that feeling. Was I remember, I think, yeah, it was Howard
- 17:18Stern. Fifty cent did a interview with Howard Stern, and you know,
- 17:23they were kind of basically talking about him. This was back in like oh
- 17:26nine or something like that, about him transitioning into acting and you know,
- 17:30how how does he make himself cry? You know what I mean, just
- 17:33being fifty cent, you know. And one of the things that he basically
- 17:40said was that he trained himself to basically put himself back in specific situations just
- 17:45that you know, from him growing up. Like for example, one of
- 17:48the situations was or it was basically him walking into his mother's house or his
- 17:56mother's place right after his grandmother died, and he was able to take himself
- 18:02back mentally to that exact moment and feeling and locking in to that for and
- 18:08you know, basically bringing that out of himself for the role that he's playing.
- 18:12And I'm like, damn, bro, this is coming out of a
- 18:17rapper his mouth, you know what I'm saying like he transitioned into an actor
- 18:19and he trained himself to to captivate those emotions. And you know that's something
- 18:25that to me is like super dope that I feel like it's it's it's not
- 18:30as easy to do as it is to say, you know what I'm saying.
- 18:33Yeah, Bro, it's funny that you say that because I there's this
- 18:37Tony Hawk game that if I listen to the song from the Tony Hawk game,
- 18:44I get like I can I can kind of like trance myself into that
- 18:48exact moment of me playing that when I was that age in Wentworth, like
- 18:53the feeling that I had, Like I can like literally like zone in on
- 18:57it when I hear that song and like you know what I mean, and
- 19:00it just I can kind of like like like like you're saying, like you
- 19:03can kind of tap into it and just kind of like know what that feeling
- 19:07was. It's almost like a timestamp type thing. That song for me was
- 19:11bound Over Back Back Dad. Yeah. I think it was like Tony Hawk
- 19:17Post Kate two or something like that. Bro. One of my first jobs.
- 19:22It's crazy you say that song. One of my first jobs. I
- 19:25used to ride my bike to it and it was like dumb far you know
- 19:27what I mean. It wasn't like a quick ride. It was like an
- 19:30hour ride. And one of the songs that I used to listen to that
- 19:34would pump me up on a ride was bombs over Bagdad, Like I had
- 19:37that. I had these Sony headphones that I will always buy because they were
- 19:41like super cheap. You can catch them fifteen twenty bucks. But they were
- 19:45good qua nah. They were like behind the ear ones and gray and they
- 19:51just were like super good quality. So I will always buy those headphones whenever
- 19:55I needed headphones, right yeah, And like I just remember having them.
- 19:59He I was plugged into my phone listening to that song and that being like
- 20:03the soundtrack like getting me home and shit, you know what I'm saying,
- 20:07Like because it was thumb late at night, so it's like that's another one
- 20:10of the songs that when I hear it, I could feel like I'm riding
- 20:12a bike. It's darkness. Fuck, you know what I'm saying. I'm
- 20:15running. I'm in like a back alley, like going towards like the area
- 20:19where I used to live at and stuff. You know what I mean.
- 20:22It's crazy you said that specific song. I feel like that's, like,
- 20:26right now a big piece of like just being a creator, or at least
- 20:33for me. You know what I'm saying is trying to get more repetitive with
- 20:37that, because for example, like right before this part, Bro, I
- 20:41was telling y'all, like, yo, man, I had a crazy day.
- 20:45Yeah, yeah, like I had a crazy day. I'm about I'm
- 20:47about to leave town tomorrow. This engineer I've been working with, he sent
- 20:51me a free mixing master, but I've basically been traveling and busy and and
- 20:56pro Tools was acting up. So it's been like three weeks. I'm trying
- 20:57to get it to him because us I leave town tomorrow and that's gonna be
- 21:00another week and a half two. I'm not trying to lose it. And
- 21:03I also don't want to do bad business. He's all from me, a
- 21:04free mix and master, you know what I mean. So, like basically
- 21:08right before this episode, like I took twenty thirty minutes to finally lock in
- 21:14on pro Tools and record something that I wrote on the way to like three
- 21:19four hours from here for work. You know, I had to travel for
- 21:22work, So I wrote it in the car while I was driving and laid
- 21:26it down real quick right before this pod, and it's like, you know,
- 21:30even in that moment, bro, like I feel like I had to
- 21:33Like I'm telling you, man, my anxiety was through the roof, Bro.
- 21:36You know what I'm saying. I took a couple of hits. I
- 21:38sipped on my little you know, sit real quick and had to like lock
- 21:42in because I knew that I had the pod coming up, you know.
- 21:45And it's like that's like for me as I mean, I'm sure there's probably
- 21:49some things like a tweak, but from the standpoint of like, yo,
- 21:52it's out, you know what I'm saying, It's like I can listen to
- 21:56it. There's somebody got a tweak, I can tweak it. You know
- 21:59that that was super dope, and it's like I want to be able to
- 22:02do that more consistently, you know what i mean. Yeah, that's something.
- 22:07It's just a few I was gonna say, just a few days ago,
- 22:08you was wondering when you was gonna be able to tap into something again,
- 22:11and then three days later it was the opportunity was there and you took
- 22:15its. Yeah. That's something me and Freddie was talking about the other day,
- 22:19like just detaching the content creation mind from the actual like creating the creativity
- 22:29sense, I mean, like getting out of that, like being mindful of
- 22:33it, but getting out of the mindset of like like how you're going to
- 22:37use the content or what kind of content you need and stuff like that,
- 22:40just making sure you're just making good stuff, you know what I mean.
- 22:44Exactly, That's something that happens a lot now, Like no matter how much
- 22:47you try to avoid it, you get sucked into the algorithmic aspect of making
- 22:52music. And it's just fine in that balance, you know what I mean.
- 22:59You can't make it, just make it, then you're gonna lose yourself,
- 23:03I feel facts. And that's that's what That's what was always holding me
- 23:07back with the rapping stuff, you know what I mean, which is it's
- 23:10not even like a thing that's like a big deal to me or anything.
- 23:14But even just like I was wondering why you'd even like it is such a
- 23:18big deal to me in my head, you know what I mean, Like
- 23:19if I if I just even laid some stuff down just for me, like
- 23:22what would be the heart of that, you know what I mean? Like
- 23:25and then in the chat exactly, so like now I'm like I'm just a
- 23:30little more open to it, and I'm just curious and kind of like I
- 23:33want to see where we go. Because another curious thing about that song was
- 23:37I distinctly remember at that time I was literally about to like make a transition
- 23:44into like different kind of music, you know what I mean, Because I
- 23:45just I started feeling silly like rapping the same kind of topics and stuff that
- 23:51I have been rapping already since I was a teenager, you know what I
- 23:53mean. So I just like had like a shift even in like the type
- 23:57of stuff I was saying. So like it was, it's just funny that
- 24:00that's the last song I'm recording and it's like still it's literally like I just
- 24:04left it hanging there in time, and it's like I can just still come
- 24:08back to it and it's just right there at that same you know what I'm
- 24:11saying, Like the owl is still dug that far. You know, there's
- 24:15these many of the years later facts. Yeah, that's all. Well,
- 24:18from from the little clip that I heard, it sounds like something you can
- 24:22wrap today. Yeah, that's that's the thing about That's the beautiful thing about
- 24:26when you're like so locked in to something because I like, rapping for me
- 24:33is the thing that was like the most comfortable thing for me because it was
- 24:36the thing that I did the longest. Like at that point, I had
- 24:38already been rapping for like twelve years or something, you know what I mean.
- 24:42When I laid that down and rapping, I just gravitated so much easier
- 24:47to it, you know what I mean, So like whenever. And it's
- 24:52crazy because it's something I talked about with my my homie the other day that
- 24:56he's like to me like he was he's just an amazing rapper, like and
- 25:00he don't rap no more like for a long time, like it's been mad
- 25:04years, you know what I mean. And you know, he a lot
- 25:08of the reasons that he has are not tied to, uh, the outside
- 25:14world's expectations, but some of it is to a certain point because it's like
- 25:18I'm gonna make this music, but then what I'm gonna do with it,
- 25:19you know what I mean. And my thing was kind of like, bro,
- 25:22like honestly, like you just got a gift and just you documenting it
- 25:26like just for the sake of like, bro, you're that nice, Like
- 25:30to me, that's a good enough reason, you know. I mean maybe
- 25:33for you, it's not you know what I'm saying. Maybe you don't care
- 25:34enough about the music. You know what I'm saying, because I'm obviously I'm
- 25:37big on music, so like the music is important to me, and especially
- 25:41if I know you got that kind of talent, like I want to hear
- 25:45it, you know what I'm saying, So I just go ahead, go
- 25:48ahead, No, no, go ahead. So basically all I was gonna
- 25:52say, Man, I feel like anybody that's talented with music, bro,
- 25:56like you're doing yourself a disservice by not creating music because like we're not here
- 26:03permanently. Bro. But like you know what I'm saying, the music lives
- 26:06on the art lives on the you know what I'm saying. Like it's something
- 26:08to do, bro. And you know, I think there's different things to
- 26:14stimulate your mind as you get older, even like this this whole like narrative
- 26:19now where like having a creative outlet is corny. Bro. That shit is
- 26:22so whacked to me, man, Like facts that that and that's even part
- 26:26of like the algorithmic thing that I don't like. It's like you gotta find
- 26:30a funny slash creative slash unique way to basically work around what you're actually doing
- 26:37to get people to come see it, you know what I mean, Like
- 26:40you gotta wrap it in such a crazy elaborate bow, but just to still
- 26:42give them the same package, you know what I mean. And that's like
- 26:47the part that gets frustrated and it's like, bro, how I present it
- 26:52to you? It doesn't matter, Like this is music, you know what
- 26:53I'm saying. Like, and that's like the that's that constant artist grind,
- 26:59you know what I mean, like trying to figure out how to make those
- 27:00two things merge. Yeah, I was gonna say you think that. I
- 27:04think that's why podcast so many Possibles albums, because that dude just stayed recording.
- 27:11He just stayed recording so so much music every single day and they were
- 27:17able to do something. And that's why I think that's why. I don't
- 27:19know, but I believe it that Wayne doesn't remember his lyrics because he's wrapped
- 27:26so much. Oh yeah, facts yea. Even when I found that one
- 27:30song I'm talking about, I sent y'all a few songs and I even sent
- 27:33Quincy some of the other day that I was like, bruh, Like I
- 27:37didn't even know what, like, I don't remember. I heard it,
- 27:40and I'm like, dog, this, I know this is me because I
- 27:41recognized my voice. I know I wrote it because nobody ever wrote no ship
- 27:47for me? So like, what is this? You know what I'm saying?
- 27:49Like, I don't even remember none of it. I'm like, dang,
- 27:52bro, like you really and I don't. And I obviously have not
- 27:55made nowhere near as much music as a little Wayne, So I can only
- 27:57imagine him, like just how much stuff he don't even remember that he just
- 28:02laid down, you know. On the flip side of that, this man
- 28:06sent me some stuff that I sent him, like, Yo, I think
- 28:07your voice was sound dope on this record, bro. And I heard it
- 28:12and I was like, damn, this ship was asked. I was like
- 28:18or something, Yeah, Bro, I heard And the crazy I've heard about
- 28:22it is that as soon as I heard the beat drop and then I heard
- 28:25myself rapping, I remember like the process of like actually writing that thinking it
- 28:30was like this is dope, Like nah, but that ship was asked.
- 28:33Bro. I gotta send y'all my tracks. Yeah, I can't. We
- 28:40gotta sign an NDA. You can't share them with nobody, Bro, That's
- 28:44exactly how I feel about all them tracks that I sent y'all, And then
- 28:47it was just that one. Bro. It was just like stuff to me,
- 28:49you know what I mean. I'm just like, damn, bro,
- 28:51this, yeah, this is a vibe right here, you know what I
- 28:52mean? Like sound like a Nage track back in the day that still his
- 28:56today, exactly classic vibe, bro. Like, it's just a certain way
- 29:02to create anything. Like anything you create, if you detach all trends and
- 29:07time from it, it just hits, you know what I mean. Like,
- 29:10it's always gonna hit no matter what. That's why people still, like
- 29:12we always say, people still sampling and using old music today, bro,
- 29:17because it hits. You say whatever you want. Sometimes you gotta catch it
- 29:21at a different point in life, but it's gonna hit, you know what
- 29:23I'm saying. I remember telling my daughter that the other day I was playing
- 29:26some steely damn music and she's she was like, I got a crazy blend
- 29:32of music in my phone. So like something played, and then something else
- 29:36played, and then the Steely Dan joint played, and she's like, damn,
- 29:38daddy, Like it's crazy how you can have so much fire music but
- 29:42then so much trash music at the same time, like I'm like, yo,
- 29:48it's funny because remember you told me that right now, and then when
- 29:52you get a little older, you're gonna be listening song and be like,
- 29:53damn, bro, that's song slides. Because that's just how it is.
- 30:00Man. Sometimes it's just gotta hit you at a different years later. And
- 30:03that's you know. That's why when I make these mixes and like the people
- 30:06who just like old school music and they tell me straight up, like,
- 30:08bro, I don't know any of those songs. It was like, yo,
- 30:11just it's not about the songs, bro, just play it the whole
- 30:15way through. It's not about the songs. But some people just want to
- 30:18hear what they want to hear, and anything new they don't want to they
- 30:21don't even want to touch, even want to give it a shot. But
- 30:25I get it, and you know, it's crazy, Like I think on
- 30:27Facebook is the biggest about probably because I don't have Twitter. But like everybody
- 30:33who's old school, well who's just my age, hates any kind of new
- 30:37music, any kind of new music, like everything that's out there, that
- 30:44shit is nuts, that that whole everything blanket. It's just yeah, it's
- 30:48just whack because it's like, bro, you know that this is not true,
- 30:52Like there's no way there's just not a good song that was made after
- 30:55nineteen ninety six, Like you know what I mean. It might not be
- 30:57your style, might not be your but you know there's good music still being
- 31:03made. You know. Yeah, facts it's sometimes it takes a little a
- 31:07little longer to get to it because we don't get the same kind of time
- 31:08to like just five on music. And that's another thing too, is that
- 31:12like you know, I feel like the industry had so much more of a
- 31:17filter back then that like you know, yeah, they weren't always right,
- 31:22but when new music came out, people knew new music was coming out.
- 31:26You know what I'm saying. Now, so many people can put music out
- 31:30however they made please that you know, it's definitely right. Agree. But
- 31:37the flip side of that is also like some people don't understand like how cyclical
- 31:42life really is. Like we had trash music. You know, there was
- 31:45a period, there was a period where they were putting out trendy stuff trying
- 31:49to see what hits that it was it was trash, you know what I
- 31:52mean. Like there's plenty of songs that you go back and listen to it.
- 31:56There's plenty of shows that you go back and watching it, Like Dann
- 31:59this was trash. It just caught me at the right time. And it
- 32:00goes back to the timing thing, you know what I mean. It's like
- 32:04people don't want to accept that stuff that happened for them, that special to
- 32:09them is whack too. Yeah, and we all like stuff this whack.
- 32:14You know what I'm saying. Our stuff wasn't better. There wasn't you know.
- 32:16There's definitely elements, Like Quincy said, the way the music was made
- 32:20was different. There was more of a filter, so you had to have
- 32:22more of a just natural like like bruh, Like you noticed that person as
- 32:27a star right off rip because you didn't have the opportunities, you know what
- 32:30I mean, You don't have so many stabs at it. So the filter
- 32:32was definitely better. But at the same time, stuff was still trickling true
- 32:37through that was trash. Yeah, you know what I'm saying, Like everybody
- 32:42that pretends, like all the movies and everything, like anybody that acts like
- 32:45that about their error period, no matter what the error was, It's like,
- 32:49bro, yeah, you're just stuck in one mode and mentality, and
- 32:53we're just not gonna be able to get past that if that's what you want,
- 32:57you know. Yeah, that's like with the on the Track and with
- 33:00the with the Travis Scott when the Guna album, the Travis Scott album,
- 33:06a lot of new artists albums. If it wasn't for y'all talking about it
- 33:07and saying it was actually good, I probably would never gave it listen because
- 33:12everybody around me, he says, Nah, everything is trash, trash,
- 33:14trash, and like I'm young Thug for me. Bro, like young Thug
- 33:19too when I was when I was because like that period when Young Thug came,
- 33:22that was like when my period of rapp was ending. So at that
- 33:25time I definitely was one of those like, Bro, I'm not listening to
- 33:29this. This is trash. You know, until people that I knew new
- 33:34music told me like, nah, bro, you're tripping. This dude is
- 33:36nice. So I was like, all right, bet, I'm gonna check
- 33:37it out. Now. I'm a big Young Thug fan, you know what
- 33:39I mean. Some people can't get past the antics, can't get past certain
- 33:43things. But dog, look at dudes from the seventies and eighties and hip
- 33:46hop, how they was looking at, how they was dressing, the stuff
- 33:50they was doing in fact, and for you to say anything about young thug
- 33:53brou if you can still say something about young thug and justify that you really
- 33:59just stucking in that one cycle, because ain't no way, brous The classic
- 34:06rock and roll stars used to have long hair, makeup, bell bottoms,
- 34:10glitter blouses like bro that was the style. Pop stars was doing that with
- 34:16a little you know, leather vest like Bruye. Anyway, to bring it
- 34:23all together to some new school hip hop, I copped at twenty one Savage
- 34:30Skin bundle off Call of Duty, Print Guns is hitting the gil. Does
- 34:37he have an audio? Yeah, bru everything, he's doing it for everything.
- 34:40Bru It's dope, brou It's dope. Oh I need to hear them
- 34:45all. Yeah they're all. But yeah man that I'm waiting for that new
- 34:50resurgence Map two. I'm excited about this new one. Man. I'm about
- 34:52to hop on this right now. A matter of fact, you hurt me.
- 34:54I have to eat dinner because yet it But yeah, man, y'all
- 35:00got any last words? She man? What I got going on? Oh?
- 35:06I got mother fucking PMP y dropping on September first, No, I
- 35:10lied September. Oh snap, damn that's tomorrow. Yeah I'm bugging. Yeah
- 35:16that bit dropped tomorrow. Yeah. See this is how fast life going,
- 35:22y'all, boy going fast. Hey man, the salon opening September, He's
- 35:28coming. I got two months left in Vegas. Then I'm back to being
- 35:31an Orlando boy. Big things, big things going on. Damn man,
- 35:36that came quick, but yeah, fast bro. In a couple of months,
- 35:38things gonna be real different than they was six months ago. Fact,
- 35:44the crazy part is all of it is still gonna be. Butter not do
- 38:24not do not, I do happen
