- 1:15of Yours Truly Johnny Doller The Forbes Matter, Part three and four from Hollywood.
- 1:23It's time now for Johnny Doller. Get Gumby Mitch Dollar, attorney for
- 1:30Sheldon Forbes. Oh, how long, mister Gumby? How are you?
- 1:34Oh? I don't know. The hearing has been set for two thirty this
- 1:37afternoon. Okay, I'll be there, No need to particularly. I told
- 1:41you yesterday he requested me to waive trial and plead Gilly Well, want to
- 1:45be sentenced today. No, this is just a preliminary hearing. He'll probably
- 1:49be sentenced before the week's out, though. The card will simply consider the
- 1:53waiver and inform him of his rights today. Anything I can do, no,
- 1:57I don't think so. I'm gonna try to talk to him again and
- 2:00get him to reconsider the waiver. I doubt if I'll have much luck,
- 2:04but I'll try. All he has to do is return the Moneys to Well.
- 2:07Buck up, mister Gumby. If he won't return it, maybe someone
- 2:10else will. What do you mean, I'm going to try and find out
- 2:15what he did with it. My company wants it back, sure, but
- 2:17we also want Forbes to have a fair chance. You're pretty decent, mister
- 2:22Doller. Thanks tonight and every weekday Night Bob Bailey and the Transcribed Adventures of
- 2:36the Man with the Action. Tacked expense account America's Fabulous Freelance Insurance Investigator Os
- 2:40Trulli Johnny Deller expense account submitted by Special Investigator Johnny Deller the Continental Adjustment Bureau
- 2:58for eighteen Elizabeth Avenue, Hartford, Connectic. Following is an accounting of expenditures
- 3:01during my investigation of the Forbes matter embezzlement and a very frustrating case. Expense
- 3:12account continued. I had him six three dollars and fifty cents lunch for myself
- 3:15and a mister Arnold Haven, head of the accounting department for Century Styles Incorporated.
- 3:21Mister Haven, a tall, balding man in a dark suit, had
- 3:23ulcers. His poached egg and dried toast didn't interest him too much. And
- 3:30what's going to happen to Oh? I don't know, mister Haven. That
- 3:34depends on several things. Right now, I have to tell you that it
- 3:38looks like he'll go to prison. Worse than that, it looks like he
- 3:40wants to go to prison. He's wave trial prison. It's too bad,
- 3:46too bad. I always liked Chowton Forbes. You hired him, did you,
- 3:50mister Haven, Yes, I hired him. He was a good man
- 3:53right from the start. He did his job, and he did it twelve
- 3:55I ain't never had a complaint against Forbes. Why do you suppose he stole
- 4:00the money You've got me, mister Dalla. We paid him the going rate.
- 4:03That's a good salary for accountance. He seemed happy enough with it,
- 4:09and he knew he was in the line for substantial raises. I could understand
- 4:14it in a way if he had a family and heavy responsibility, or if
- 4:17he played the market, or if he gambled. But Forbes, he just
- 4:23baffles me. It baffles me too. Oh yeah, that's Good's well.
- 4:28The people around the office there, they're pretty upset about this. Any particular
- 4:32people, mister Haven. Everybody, but anyone in particular. A girl for
- 4:36instance, Oh girl, yes, I see what. No, did he
- 4:42go out with any girl in your office? No? No, most of
- 4:44them are married. No, at least as far as I know, Forbes
- 4:47didn't go with any of the girls there. He kept to himself. Oh
- 4:51he might have lunched with one or the other now and then, but no,
- 4:55no, he more or less kept to himself. All the reason I
- 4:59asked you, mister hay And is that what little I've been able to find
- 5:00out about his personal life isn't very helpful. My company wants the money back.
- 5:04We're willing to give him a fair break if we can get it back.
- 5:08He's pretty stubborn about cooperating. Yes, we know about that, mister
- 5:12Duller. But how can we give him a break if he doesn't want us
- 5:15to? And we can't find out anything about him. Look, if there's
- 5:18anything you can think of, any reason he might have had for taking the
- 5:23money, and I have wrecked my brain. I can't think of any reason
- 5:26he No, wait a minute, just a minute. I didn't notice a
- 5:31change coming Forbes. It was about a month or six weeks ago. Oh,
- 5:35it was nothing, really, it was just I guess in anxiety about
- 5:41him. Well, he took all the money within the last four weeks.
- 5:44With that correspond roughly, yes, well that's a start, I hope.
- 5:53I returned to the accounting offices of Century Styles with mister Haven. I spent
- 5:57two hours questioning different members of his staffing. Sheldon Forbes, his habits and
- 6:01his personality were pretty much the same as having himself had described expense account adem
- 6:09seven four dollars gasoline. I put a tankful of gas in my rented car
- 6:12and went over to an apartment on fifty ninth Street where Sheldon Forbes had lived.
- 6:15According to the pencil note above the first store to the right of the
- 6:18entrance, Missus Anastasia Knapka was the manager. Yes, what is pleased you
- 6:30are, Missus Knopka? Yes, what do you want? Mister? I
- 6:33understand mister Sheldon Forbes lives here. Is that right? Oh? Yes,
- 6:39bed, I hear he's still moneys. He not in a jail. I
- 6:45think, yes, I know about them, missus Knopka. I'm from the
- 6:47insurance company and we're involved in this case. We're trying to recover some of
- 6:51that money if we can. I wonder if you'd help me. I fixed
- 6:55dinner for my husband, he's come home from work. It won't take long.
- 6:59What I do well. I want to know about Sheldon Forbes. What
- 7:02the works, missus Knapka. Did he drink gamble? They stay and nights
- 7:08or go out, and he pay his rent. He always pay his rent.
- 7:12You are policeman, insurance investigating. Please sometime else, maybe you speak
- 7:17to my husband. He speak much better than me, but it's important now.
- 7:21I talked to mister Forbes on telephone. He called me from jail.
- 7:26He said, I don't have to answer any questions. You don't have to
- 7:30answer any questions, Missus Kannapka. But I sure appreciate it if you would.
- 7:34My husband home pretty so you ask him you can help him possibly?
- 7:39Now would you like to help him in this trouble? All right? Mister
- 7:44but how I know these things? You ask me about the men who live,
- 7:47well, how about his friends who visited him? I cannot say,
- 7:55no visitor. Was he a good tenant, no trouble like mister Sullivan and
- 8:00third floor mister or Sullivan always drunk, called police twice. Mister Forbes,
- 8:05not drink whiskey. Uh did you ever meet this girl? Girl? Sure
- 8:11you had a girlfriend at me? Oh, I think you mistake? I
- 8:13know you ever see a girlfriend here? All right? How long have you
- 8:18known him? Five? Six year? Maybe ever since he moved in here
- 8:24to this place. But no, girl, no hard he spend his time
- 8:28work? He worked very hard. No, I mean besides working at the
- 8:31office. How else did Forbes spend his time? I've been he poor feller
- 8:39that one Huh. True? He steals money is but he poor feller.
- 8:43Just the same for him, I feel. Yeah, mister Forbes he quiet,
- 8:48and he thinks I know he lived up in that little room. Quiet
- 8:52and think he does all time? Think no whiskey, no girls. Oh
- 9:00he paints sometime, listened to music. Think o, my husband Dina Burns.
- 9:07Please you go just a minute. I'd like to see his apartment if
- 9:11I can. Oh, No, methics. Here you bring Becky please sure,
- 9:15thank you, missus knaf Gan. The apartment Sheldon Forbes called home was
- 9:20as dismal as the neighborhood. A tiny closet kitchen, a bed that came
- 9:24out of the wall, and a pair of grimy windows that looked across the
- 9:28court onto another pair of equally grimy windows. The furniture was threadbare and dusty.
- 9:33A small ironing board and iron attested to the fact that Sheldon Forbes laundered
- 9:37his own shirts. Other small evidences of frug gality were about the premises.
- 9:41A hot plate and a can of souring cream. Two sants of clothes,
- 9:46neatly brushed and pressed, but inexpensive. The record player in a collection of
- 9:50a half of a dozen good albums, were the only sign of material accomplishment.
- 9:54The painting materials, eazel canvas and oils were also inexpensive. No liquor,
- 9:58no jewelry, no spencive clothes, nothing that costs four thousand, two
- 10:03hundred and eighty five dollars or anything like oh here's your key, missus gonna
- 10:11can thank you very much? Hey, thank you? Well, what you
- 10:18think I think he's had a very lonely life here, yes, lonely's word
- 10:24lonely? Wait? Has he got a car? Thanks? It was a
- 10:39Ford Vantage of nineteen forty six, tightly locked up. The paint was skinning
- 10:46away, the tires worn down, the mile age seventy seven thousand miles.
- 10:50He certainly hadn't blown the money on a fancy car. Now I felt completely
- 10:56frustrated. Expensivecount item eight seventy nine cents dinner. I had a neighborhood restaurant
- 11:05called the seventy nine Er, a place I learned where Sheldon Forbes frequently took
- 11:09his evening meal. The restaurant manager, a man named Alexander Duplas, remembered
- 11:13Forbes. He liked him. A woman who ran a bakery shop across the
- 11:16street also remembered him as the young man who bought a roll there every night,
- 11:20probably the role to go with a lonely cup of coffee in his room
- 11:24the next morning. She liked him too. All in all, I was
- 11:28getting a composite picture of Sheldon Forbes that didn't look quite right. Whatever he
- 11:31was to the people who knew him casually, he wasn't a man who ever
- 11:35had any money to spend. I dropped in at the city jail about seven
- 11:41thirty, and I was surprised to find lawyer Edward Gumby sitting on a bench
- 11:45briefcase in hand. Come on, mister Gumby, nothing new. Huh that's
- 11:52the Wayne Goes. I guess we had some action today. Yeah, the
- 11:56hearing was this afternoon. Man from the district to turn his office. Took
- 12:00about fifteen minutes to lay out the evidence against Forbes and make the charges.
- 12:03Uh huh. I spent the whole time pleading with Forbes not to go ahead
- 12:09with the waiver. Did I miss anything? No, he wouldn't open up
- 12:11at all. He just said he'd spent the money. I couldn't talk him
- 12:16out of the waiver, so it went through. When will he be sentenced?
- 12:20They accept the date for Friday. I don't know whether they'll get around
- 12:22to it or not. I'd like to talk to him again. Has he
- 12:26been moved yet? Nope. I thought he'd be transferred to the Sheriff's office.
- 12:30Well, ordinarily he would, but since he waved trial, they announced
- 12:33bail. It's proper procedure in cases like this. Gives him a couple of
- 12:35days to straighten out his affairs. Why somebody bail him out? Oh?
- 12:41Has he left yet? Won't get out too late? Then's when the shift
- 12:45changes. I think it's worth trying to see him. Yeah, I think
- 12:48I'll stick around as to come be. I got to find out something about
- 12:52this case. An hour later, when Sheldon Forbes emerged from the doorway and
- 12:56turned right, I was following him when he caught a cab and headed uptown.
- 13:01I caught one and stayed right with him. When he got out at
- 13:03the Empress Theater and walked around to the stage door, I was standing by
- 13:07the alley entrance. Ten minutes later, he came back out hailed a cab
- 13:11once more, I followed it. This time I followed into his apartment on
- 13:13fifty ninth Street. I waited fifteen minutes before I went in. Farbes,
- 13:28Barbes, Hey, Farbes, it's me Johnny Dollar. I want to talk
- 13:31to you. It took me a few seconds to understand what it was.
- 13:41I got a couple of whiffs of it coming from under his door. The
- 13:50room was accurate, stinging with gas fumes, and Sheldon Forbes was stretched down
- 13:54on the floor of a six foot kitchen when I picked him up and carried
- 14:03him out. I didn't know whether it was alive or debt. Johnny Deller,
- 14:24this is the police operated. Are you the party you called for Nanu
- 14:28Lence? Yes, didn't you get it? It's on the way, sir.
- 14:31I'm calling to verify the circumstance attempt at suicide by guests. Yes,
- 14:35sir, we have that. The victim's name, Sheldon Forbes, f L
- 14:39R B. S. Forbes, and your connection, sir, relative perhaps
- 14:43no no relation. Insurance investigator. I just found him. Would you please
- 14:46remain there until the office is arrived. Are you kidding? I asked you.
- 14:50Oh, oh well, thank you very much. Expense accounts submitted by
- 15:03Special Investigator Johnny Dollar to the Continental Adjustment Bureau for eighteen Elizabeth Avenue, Hartford,
- 15:07Connecticut. The following is the accounting of expenditures during my investigation of the
- 15:13Forbes matter. Sheldon Forbes pleaded guilty to a four thousand, two hundred and
- 15:20eighty five dollars and bezzling charge. He waved jury trial and was awaiting sentence
- 15:24when he was bailed out of jail and went home and turned on the gas
- 15:28thirty seconds after I dragged him from the apartment. I called the police emergency
- 15:33squad. In a matter of minutes they arrived and a couple of interns were
- 15:35working on fours with a full motor in that dingy, dirty, badly lighted
- 15:39hallway. There was no telling how much gas Forbes had breathed in, or
- 15:43for how long a period after he went into his apartment the gas jet had
- 15:46been opened. Hand me let hypoel thanks, swab okay, he he alarmed
- 16:04barely. You're the fellow found him? Mister, yeah, learn to say?
- 16:14What can happen on these kinds? That shot I just gave him should
- 16:17produce some reaction this year place. You know who he is. His name
- 16:27is Sherman for Hims. Nice looking guy. Well i'll need that. Yeah,
- 16:37thanks, I think we're getting somewhere now, Look can I help?
- 16:44No, Hell, you better hand me one of those two live will be
- 16:47pretty sick. Oh think good, he's he's catching on. Yeah, let's
- 16:52have a little increase. Hell, I'll but just a little okay, hold
- 16:57it there. The intern and his assistant worked quietly and methodically. There was
- 17:08nothing I could do but stand and watch. After about a half an hour,
- 17:12the color of forbe skin seemed to me a little more close to normal.
- 17:17His eyes were still closed, though, when he showed no signs of
- 17:18movement, I waited, Okay, I'll you can kill a pull mother.
- 17:33I'm getting some posts now, perspiration too. What do you make it?
- 17:41It depends, mister, he has any kind of heart condition, it'll be
- 17:45tough. We can tell more when we get him into a hospital. Nothing
- 17:48more we can do for him here. Okay, I'll have the boys load
- 17:52him up. Let's get out of here. Well, mister, did you
- 18:03say he's a friend of yours? Just someone I know? It's got you
- 18:08to think Casey makes it, Morley b We'll take him over to Bellevue.
- 18:12All attempt at suicide to get over there. I'd like to talk to him
- 18:17when he comes around. Any idea when that'll be no telling? Better?
- 18:21Phone in first. Please, don't want to talk to you. You give
- 18:23identification of headquarters when you called in. Yeah, that's a third one tonight.
- 18:30What is it? Welly, not for him. My job is to
- 18:33handle them, but I wonder why they do it. Oh, this guy's
- 18:36got a problem. He's out on bail and goes into court Friday to be
- 18:40sentenced. In Besling chart seemed like a nice guy, good looking. I
- 18:45think he probably is a nice guy. But I thought you said he was
- 18:48new Bessling. I did, Yeah, be sure and call in. Yeah
- 18:56sure, doctor, Thanks, good night. The uniformed officers outside the apartment
- 19:03house questioned me thoroughly regarding the circumstances of the attempt at suicide. I told
- 19:07him what had occurred and gave them my business address for reference. He asked
- 19:11me to drive over to the station with him and verify the facts. I
- 19:14did. All of that took about two hours. When I was finished,
- 19:17I put in a call to Bellevue No change in Sheldon Forbes condition expensive count
- 19:22item nine two eighty one theater ticket. That's what it cost me to see
- 19:26the last fifteen minutes of a fairly bad musical play at the Empress Theater.
- 19:32When it was over, I walked around to the stage entrance. Hey didn't
- 19:36quite get dag, mister dollar dollar, Oh, mister darr Well, what
- 19:41can I do for you? Between six thirty and seven o'clock to night,
- 19:45a man came here to the stage entrance and talked to you. A lot
- 19:47of people talk to me here, and there's my job talking to him.
- 19:51One man in particular, his name is Sheldon Forbes. Don't remember nobody name
- 19:56for well, maybe he didn't give his name. He was a tall man
- 19:59about my size. It's thirty or so, dark hair, clean cut,
- 20:03or a tweet suit and beach me. Did you come here to see somebody
- 20:07in the show? Is that it? He might have? I don't know.
- 20:11How do you know he came here? I followed him, I saw
- 20:12him. It's a business, my business. I'm an investigator. Oh we
- 20:18know? Did he have a hat on tonight? Oh? No, I
- 20:21didn't, short haircut? Yeah, do you remember? Sure? Sure?
- 20:25What she'd done struck me as a nice young fellow. He's been round here
- 20:29a lot of times, Sheldon Barb. Yeah, yeah, I didn't recognize
- 20:33a name approach. Would you mind telling me why he comes around here?
- 20:36Comes here and she bets you. Walker one of the heroes in the show.
- 20:40Let's see Walker. Is she his girlfriend? Oh? Don't think so.
- 20:45It's like this. He comes here asking to see her and she never
- 20:49sees him. Yeah, I suppose so? Who is she? Oh?
- 20:56She sings here dance? Is a little pretty girl? Have you ever seen
- 20:59him? Forbes? Whoa? I can't say, I guess not. Is
- 21:03she still here, Betsy Walker? Is she still here? I'd like to
- 21:07talk to her where she wouldn't be here this rate. She finishes her bit
- 21:11in the second actor to tell me where she lives. Oh, I'm sorry,
- 21:15boy, I can't tell you there? All right? Well where can
- 21:18I phone her? Can't tell you that either? And now why don't you
- 21:22drop around tomorrow? It's important tonight? Hey, Look, what'd you do
- 21:25me a favor? Depends? What is it? Would you telephone Betsy Walker?
- 21:30Tell him my business and ask her she'll see me? Who suppose I
- 21:33can do that? All right, mister Dollar, take a chair there,
- 21:36I'll see you what I can do for you. The doorman did all right.
- 21:45Expense account adam ten two dollars and sixty five cents cab fair. I
- 21:49gave up my rented car and had the cab driver find the addressed Betty Walker
- 21:52at given. It was a rather nice apartment and a rather nice part of
- 21:56town, and was almost one in the morning when I got there. She
- 22:00met me at the door, wrapped in a chanel dressing ground with coal cream
- 22:03on her face. Miss Walker, you must see mister Dollard. Yes,
- 22:10now, i'd just wait a minute, do you mind if I see some
- 22:12kind of identification or something like that. Oh no, no, yeah,
- 22:19Hartford, Connecticut. Oh, you'd be surprised. It's some of the things.
- 22:26And now I'll try come in. Please, thank you all. I
- 22:32didn't quite understand Frank on the telephone. Frank, oh, the dormant at
- 22:37the theater. Yes, I didn't know quite what to make of it.
- 22:41Goodness, Are you really an insurance detective? Yes, and i'd appreciate you
- 22:45letting me see you at night, Miss Walker? Sit down? Can I
- 22:49think to you a drink? No, don't. Thanks. Frank mentioned something
- 22:53about Forbes. You're here because of his Yes, Miss Walker, I understand
- 22:57that you know Forbes. No, not exactly. That is, there's some
- 23:06reservation on the way you say that, Miss Walker. You know his name?
- 23:10Yes, I know the name. Can I ask you what this is
- 23:14all about? Routine investigation? I'm curious, how did you get my name?
- 23:19How am I connected with Sheldon Forbes? That's what I'd like you to
- 23:23tell me. Well, first about my name. Forbes was at the theater
- 23:27earlier to night asking for you. I understand he's been around there quite a
- 23:30bit. Yes, I really don't know how to tell you this mister dollar.
- 23:37I've only seen that name once in my life. Honestly, he's Oh
- 23:41he's really quite impossible. I just dar, this is so embarrassing to try
- 23:48to explain this. Maybe I can save you some embarrassment then if you'll answer
- 23:52one question. Sure? Why not? Did Sheldon Forbes ever give you any
- 23:56presents? Yes? What that cigarette box on the table there and the lighted
- 24:04to go with it? Yphanice? Pretty? Aren't they very? Also expensive?
- 24:14What else? Well? Let me think, Oh no, no,
- 24:19that wasn't from him. Oh that was the lamp over there and a first
- 24:27dole. May I seon, I'm afraid I gave that away? You did?
- 24:32I gave it to my kids sister who was visiting me last week.
- 24:34I already had one. Oh I see what else? Did he hear?
- 24:38You? I think that's about it, except for orchids. It used to
- 24:42come every night, a dozen orchids every night for the last month. You
- 24:47only saw him once, and he gave you all these gifts, Dear,
- 24:51I know how that must sound. I just look. It started a month
- 24:56or so, I guess. I got a card in my dressing room one
- 25:00i'd asking me to dinner. It was signed Sheldon Forbes. Well, I'd
- 25:04never heard of anybody named Sheldon Forbes, and I just tore the card up.
- 25:08But every night after that I kept getting orchid and the card, and
- 25:14then the gifts started to come. The cigarette box first. That's when I
- 25:18saw him. I didn't even die with him, mister Dollath. We had
- 25:22one drink and I told him I had a headache. But the gifts still
- 25:26kept coming, flowers, invitations. I ignored them. I tried to send
- 25:30the things back and I didn't know where to send them. Some I gave
- 25:34away and some I've kept. I didn't want his gift. He was nice,
- 25:40but I well, I just didn't want anything to do with him.
- 25:44When I did meet him, he was so different than what I had imagined.
- 25:48I mean, well, gee, I've had my share of stage to
- 25:51a Johnny's, but this man was well, he just couldn't say a word
- 25:56without stumbling. He had no poise, no sophistication, nothing. All he
- 26:02had was money. He told you that he didn't have to those kids.
- 26:06Well he didn't have money, miss Walker. He worked for eighty two dollars
- 26:08a week as a bookkeeper. You must be mistaken. I'm afraid not he
- 26:12stole the money to buy you all these things well, for Heaven's sake,
- 26:18For Heaven's sakes, and you caught him Forbes trying to commit suicide earlier,
- 26:22this evening suicide. I'm sorry I had to come to you to get this
- 26:26information. He's refused all along to tell anybody what he did with the money.
- 26:30Will he go to prison? I'm afraid, song, Oh, but
- 26:33it's crazy. We had nothing. He's just a name to me. He
- 26:38means nothing to me, but apparently you mean something to him. There'll be
- 27:00another intriguing episode in our story of the Forbes Matter tomorrow. Tomorrow proof that
- 27:06four thousand, two hundred and eighty five dollars worth of unrequited love can spell
- 27:10three years of prison. But sometimes there's an angle, in this case,
- 27:15a rather startling one. Join us, won't you? Yours Truly? Johnny
- 27:19Dollar? Yours Truly? Johnny Doller starrying Bob Bailey is transcribed in Hollywood,
- 27:32Written by John Dawson, It is produced and directed by Jack John Stole.
- 27:36Be sure to join us tomorrow night at same time and station, or the
- 27:40next exciting episode of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar. Roy Rowan speaking welcome back.
- 28:34Well, our mystery really is at an end at this point, so not
- 28:41as much excitement going into Friday as brihas. We'ld like kind of an interesting
- 28:47sociological experiment and a few really nice realistic touches when they were dealing with the
- 29:00internal stone working on Forbes and really just kind of a sad case. You
- 29:04all will have to respect the decency of Johnny Dowler really trying in spite of
- 29:15Forbes to give him, to give him a break, but just not happening
- 29:22at this point. But we'll see if we can get We'll see what the
- 29:27bake surprise is on a Friday. Now we turn to listener comments and feedback.
- 29:34Aiden says hello from the UK. I love the Side and the NFL
- 29:40before and after the adventures. Is there any chance of uploading Paul temper Temple
- 29:45mysteries to the Side in the future. All the best wishes, Aiden,
- 29:49and also if you heard of TAF they are great radio shows too, well,
- 29:53Thanks so much, Aiden. I had not actually heard of palif I
- 29:57dated Google search found some information apparently created by John Creastly actually writing under his
- 30:12own name and a very prolific with a total of fifty nine books in between
- 30:21nineteen thirty eighteen seventy eight might might be worth a look in terms of the
- 30:30Paul Temple mysteries. In most British mysteries, the answer is probably not.
- 30:38While I'm aware that Paul Temple's history on radio goes back quite a few years,
- 30:45most of his earliest adventures are still under copyright in the UK, which
- 30:51means they're still under copyright in the United States. The general rule with British
- 30:57programs is that if it's before June of nineteen fifty seven, it's a public
- 31:06domain. We can quiet. After that it's under copyright, and it will
- 31:11be under copyright longer than we're doing this program, unfortunately. And then I
- 31:18have a listener comment from one listener some of them these have really bad audio.
- 31:26There's a very strong echo to the point of ringing. I had to
- 31:30turn many of them off. Well, I apologize you've had that difficulty.
- 31:34If you do have that top of concern, please email me what specific episode
- 31:41you're talking about now. And I also have to say that you know some
- 31:48of these, You know, the Johnny dollars are all all I think,
- 31:51in pretty good shape. But some of these the Sherlock Holmes is and the
- 31:56mister Motos. You know, a lot of the shows we run on Tuesdays
- 32:01and Thursdays, you know, are not very improved audio. It's one of
- 32:07those things with listening to vintage audio. But you know, if there's specific
- 32:12episodes you're concerned with, I can ask Andrew to take a look and see
- 32:15if he can identify where any potential problems or opportunities life. But bad audio
- 32:23is kind of part of the deal. And you know, as we've talked
- 32:28it over with you know, listeners, it's come through that people that people
- 32:37really want to hear the programs even if they're a little scratchy or echoe as
- 32:45long as they're as long as they're understandable. So that's that's kind of how
- 32:53we'll play it. But if you run into any specific problems, please feel
- 32:59for to let us know. All right, well, that'll do it for
- 33:00today. We'll be back tomorrow with Sherlock Holmes. In the meanwhile, send
