- 0:07S2: Jay and dunk Rock drive.
- 0:09S3: I love it.
- 0:11S4: Tuesday 20th of October. Jay and dunk ready to drive
- 0:14S4: you home. Good afternoon, big old afternoon. Uh, Jay's decided
- 0:18S4: that this show needs some medieval medieval armor. Now, we
- 0:21S4: only joked recently about getting a meteorite. We now have two. Yeah,
- 0:25S4: we will get to that.
- 0:27S5: Um, so if you know, just early doors, if you
- 0:29S5: know who the best medieval fighting knight in New Zealand
- 0:33S5: is or team, um, text it through to three, five,
- 0:36S5: two zero. We'll get to it before 4:00.
- 0:38S4: And if you need a major life decision made, it
- 0:41S4: is a Tuesday. So we're going to whip out our
- 0:43S4: $5,000 million dollar coin. Um which makes no sense whatsoever.
- 0:48S4: We realize that.
- 0:49S5: Whose is this coat hanging up there. Jacket on the floor.
- 0:52S4: It's kind of like art. We it cost us $5,000
- 0:54S4: hard cost. Yeah. And then we then say it's worth
- 0:56S4: $1 million.
- 0:58S5: It's like a Hearst piece of work.
- 0:59S4: But if you're battling to make a decision in your
- 1:01S4: life and you want us to flip the coin of
- 1:03S4: destiny to help you with that decision. You can text coin,
- 1:05S4: send the scenario off to three five, two zero. We
- 1:08S4: could be choosing you and getting on getting you on
- 1:10S4: the show after four.
- 1:11S5: And I have a problem to put to you all next.
- 1:15S5: I don't have the answer for it, but could you
- 1:17S5: please explain the mystery of the chicken egg?
- 1:20S6: Oh, all the best bits from the rock drive with
- 1:23S6: Jay and Dunk, you beauty. Listen live on our App Rover,
- 1:26S6: 3 to 7 p.m. New Zealand time, Monday to Friday. Oh.
- 1:30S7: Give me the best bits.
- 1:32S8: It's my guy.
- 1:32S6: Smoko. Cheers to heartland chips. Extreme crunch experience. More crunch
- 1:37S6: than a boy racer going over a speed bump.
- 1:39S4: Yes. Play these bad boys to win. Uh, so you
- 1:42S4: can tick smoko. Send it off to three, five, two zero.
- 1:45S4: Then you could be the person like the most, like,
- 1:47S4: godlike figure in your smoker room for the rest of
- 1:49S4: the year with the year's supply.
- 1:51S5: Yeah, like a chip ninja. He says any opportunity, you
- 1:54S5: can just go, huzzah! There you go.
- 1:56S4: You can just flick them like you're flicking a card
- 1:58S4: across the room to your coworkers.
- 1:59S5: Extreme crunch. Bang!
- 2:02S4: Sorry in advance.
- 2:06S5: So this was something that came through in a scroll today.
- 2:10S5: And it was the never solved mystery of the egg.
- 2:14S5: Please explain now. Bear with me through it as I
- 2:16S5: talk through the different versions of how you prepare eggs
- 2:20S5: and how they satiate your hunger.
- 2:23S4: Mhm.
- 2:23S5: Starting with the boiled egg. The traditional boiled egg. Very
- 2:26S5: simple to do, depending on how you like to have it. Say,
- 2:28S5: for example, on toast. One boiled egg will suffice, will
- 2:32S5: leave you feeling satiated. Generally speaking, for your average. For
- 2:37S5: your average appetite.
- 2:38S4: However, as long as it's with a piece of bread. Yes.
- 2:40S5: Yes, with a piece of bread. However, if you fry
- 2:43S5: two eggs and you put it on a piece of toast,
- 2:47S5: it doesn't seem to fill you the same way. And
- 2:49S5: now you're going hang about, hang about. That makes no sense.
- 2:55S5: What makes less sense is when you scramble three eggs
- 3:00S5: And it only just does the job of the one
- 3:03S5: boiled egg. So where is it going? Missing? Where in
- 3:09S5: the cooking process and the preparation. Obviously same product prepared
- 3:13S5: three different ways. Completely satiated your hunger at different levels.
- 3:17S4: I think it's due to the moisture content.
- 3:21S5: Okay.
- 3:21S4: Less moisture in a boiled egg. Mega moisture and scrambled eggs.
- 3:26S5: How is it less moist when it's boiled in water
- 3:28S5: and there's no water put into scrambled eggs?
- 3:30S4: I don't know the answer to that. It seems like
- 3:32S4: some sort of black magic.
- 3:33S5: But is.
- 3:34S4: There. I've got another question. Yes. Why do most people, um,
- 3:37S4: collect their eggs from the supermarket at room temperature, take
- 3:41S4: them home and put them in the fridge.
- 3:42S5: To, to, to prolong the health.
- 3:44S4: Does it actually.
- 3:45S5: I'm not entirely sure.
- 3:46S4: You know, once I listen to me, old mate Lushy
- 3:49S4: on ZB nights many moons ago heard him saying, well,
- 3:53S4: maybe it'll cool a ring up or something. Said their
- 3:55S4: grandma's put Vaseline on the outside of eggs that last
- 3:58S4: bloody months, mate. The ear wasn't getting to them.
- 4:02S5: Are you trusting a little botulism batch with with vats
- 4:06S5: on the outside of it?
- 4:07S4: I would way rather eat like months old egg than
- 4:10S4: like a week old seafood.
- 4:14S5: Really?
- 4:15S4: Yeah. I mean, if it's been vast.
- 4:16S5: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Vest your eggs. Yeah. It's a real
- 4:19S5: awkward thing to be doing when someone turns up at
- 4:21S5: your house unannounced. Hey, what are you doing? I'm just
- 4:22S5: lubing up some eggs.
- 4:23S4: Don't worry.
- 4:24S5: They're raw.
- 4:25S4: I like that matters, mate.
- 4:26S5: I want to know how it feels. But if that
- 4:30S5: if that resonates with you and you've got an explanation
- 4:33S5: as to why, uh, feel free to text it through. Three, five, two, zero.
- 4:37S5: It's a mystery.
- 4:38S4: I don't think we'll get to the bottom of that cheese.
- 4:40S4: We go through some eggs in our house. I'm seriously
- 4:42S4: looking at buying some chickens, mate.
- 4:43S5: There's a bloke, um, up near your way who travels
- 4:46S5: all the way to our, um, our, our way on
- 4:48S5: the weekends and we get them from him. He's drops
- 4:50S5: them and I'm mega.
- 4:52S4: Honestly.
- 4:52S5: Not drops him. He hands them over, hands them over
- 4:55S5: and then the super sized eggs all double jokers boom boom.
- 4:58S4: You're not a very good egg delivery man if he
- 4:59S4: turns up on the footpath.
- 5:03S6: Get that link in the show notes.
- 5:05S4: This is one of my favourite segments. And for the
- 5:07S4: first time ever, my esteemed co-host, Jonathan Reeve is giving
- 5:11S4: it a crack. This is the internet in 60s. Now,
- 5:14S4: the idea behind the internet in 60s is we just
- 5:17S4: see how much goodness we can pull out of the
- 5:20S4: internet in 60s, and they always are in regard. In
- 5:24S4: regards to a post that's been done this time around,
- 5:27S4: the post is what.
- 5:28S5: Um. It's a picture of a young fella with a caption.
- 5:32S5: My boy cooks steak and potatoes for dinner was so
- 5:35S5: dang good. Now the potatoes are whole potatoes, potatoes, and
- 5:38S5: they look like they're raw, but rolled around in some
- 5:41S5: form of charcoal, which came from the cooking of the steak.
- 5:44S5: The steak looks like little chunks of leather on a plate.
- 5:48S4: Okay, let's see what the internet's got.
- 5:50S9: What the is the internet?
- 5:52S10: This is the internet in 60s Luke.
- 5:55S5: Luke Adams. The people of Pompeii weren't even burnt that bad.
- 5:59S5: Macho man Patrick Savage, he didn't cook that steak. Well done.
- 6:02S5: He cooked it. Congratulations, Dan. John makes me think of
- 6:06S5: my PA. He was also cremated. Uh. The curbing. This
- 6:10S5: made my smoke alarm go off when I saw it
- 6:12S5: on Instagram. Uh, Ethan clear boy knows how to put
- 6:16S5: it on the grill. Just needs to learn how to
- 6:17S5: take it off. A cold steak was burnt. Potatoes were burnt.
- 6:22S5: Other than that, it was shit. Jordan Smith, did he
- 6:27S5: cook the steak with a welder? Just asking for a friend. Welder.
- 6:30S5: Killian chicks. I've set this. Smith. Set the smoke alarm
- 6:33S5: on two hours and 36 minutes. Should be. Should be
- 6:36S5: about right. The potatoes are burnt but raw on the inside. Now,
- 6:39S5: that is a talent. Um, you're going to be chewing
- 6:41S5: that steak until about 2042 DUP down. My great grandpa's
- 6:46S5: insoles from Vietnam are looking more appetizing at this stage. Delicious.
- 6:50S5: That looks like how the dinosaurs died. Asteroid hitting it, basically.
- 6:56S5: Scott Walker, you should butter the plate so it all
- 6:57S5: slides off into the Benezia this to finish. However, this
- 7:04S5: to finish. No no no, this is just because bear
- 7:07S5: in mind it's a young buck who's cooking cooking a
- 7:09S5: meal for his mum.
- 7:10S4: Nah. Who cares?
- 7:10S5: Go listen. He put in the effort. I don't care
- 7:14S5: how it turned out. I'll bet the majority of the
- 7:16S5: negative commenters are kids playing video games or adults living
- 7:20S5: at home with their parents. Meanwhile, this young man's out
- 7:23S5: there trying to learn to provide. Ignore the haters, mate.
- 7:25S5: You're raising a good one, young lady.
- 7:27S6: Jane Dunk sitting in a tree KISS okay, that's weird.
- 7:33S6: Rock drive must watch.
- 7:36S4: One of the greatest voices in television is back. He
- 7:40S4: at an age where most people are pretty happy just
- 7:42S4: to be able to, I don't know, swallow some sort
- 7:44S4: of solid food or something. Sir David Attenborough is making
- 7:47S4: one of the best TV shows that he's ever made.
- 7:49S4: Again for round three, he is back to return. Uh.
- 7:53S4: Or he is back to narrate. Um. Blue planet three. Oh.
- 7:56S4: So the first one came out in 2001.
- 8:00S5: That seems like not that long ago, but clearly is
- 8:03S5: quite some time ago.
- 8:04S4: Um, and, uh, they're going to do six episodes and
- 8:09S4: this time around exploring marine life from tropical waters to
- 8:12S4: the deepest parts of the ocean. New underwater filming technology
- 8:15S4: promises incredible footage of marine life and behavior that we'd
- 8:18S4: never seen before. Final episode, which is kind of what
- 8:21S4: he does in his, um, documentaries. It has a look
- 8:24S4: at all the threats to that particular part of our, um,
- 8:28S4: blue planet. So obviously the threats to the ocean and stuff. Uh,
- 8:32S4: he obviously never thought he'd be able to do a
- 8:35S4: one a documentary in his 100th year on planet earth.
- 8:39S5: Have you got any of his mastery?
- 8:42S4: Oh, do I. Do I ever.
- 8:45S11: 25 years ago, in the blue planet, we began a
- 8:51S11: journey beneath the waves. Now, in this new series, we
- 9:00S11: venture even further.
- 9:06S4: Fresh as a daisy. Doesn't sound a day older than
- 9:09S4: 25 years ago, does it?
- 9:10S5: No. And they have. They were. He was one of
- 9:13S5: the first voices to get copied, to be reproduced. Uh,
- 9:17S5: and it wasn't.
- 9:18S4: That long ago. We were talking about the fact that
- 9:20S4: they're going to continue to use him as a voiceover.
- 9:22S4: And everyone was like, oh my gosh, how are they
- 9:24S4: going to do that? Yeah. And now you look at
- 9:25S4: like Instagram accounts, like Bundy and the Biff, and it's
- 9:28S4: just like everyone's getting done left, right and center or
- 9:30S4: all the Justin Bieber stuff that's popping up at the moment.
- 9:33S5: Yeah, he was the first one to, um, he was
- 9:35S5: the first one to basically, um, license his voice to
- 9:39S5: the BBC. So he basically gets paid in perpetuity on
- 9:43S5: his annualized salary for the rest of basically the rest
- 9:46S5: of the time they use his voice.
- 9:47S4: You know, he's just shoveling that all off to wildlife
- 9:49S4: foundations across the globe. 100.
- 9:52S5: He's done like Yvon Chouinard.
- 9:54S6: Thanks for listening, Big Herb.
- 9:55S4: This segment is called.
- 9:58S12: If I Crash Land in Jungle. Will I be able
- 10:01S12: to eat my own shoes?
- 10:02S13: Will there ever be a boy born who can swim
- 10:04S13: faster than the shark?
- 10:05S14: This might be a stupid question.
- 10:07S15: There's no such thing as a stupid question.
- 10:10S4: This. Maybe it should be a question, but if you
- 10:12S4: do have one, you can text it through 3520. No, judge.
- 10:15S5: Yeah. This, um I saw went down over the weekend.
- 10:18S5: Brew town up. What a spot. What a group of humans.
- 10:21S5: What a place to delete tubes and have a bloody
- 10:23S5: great time. Yeah. How do you make that better, I
- 10:25S5: hear you ask. Well, you get a whole bunch of
- 10:28S5: people dressed up in medieval nightwear. And I don't mean, um, lingerie.
- 10:33S5: I mean medieval Knights of the Round Table style armor.
- 10:38S5: And you have a literal fight in, like, a wooden
- 10:41S5: fenced in cage. So this was medieval knight fighting.
- 10:45S4: Okay.
- 10:46S5: 12 v 1212 Kiwis versus Australians. From what I can gather,
- 10:50S5: I think Australians are possibly pipped us, but I just
- 10:55S5: can't quite understand how it actually works. So 12 v
- 10:59S5: 12 makes sense because it's basically just a war, um.
- 11:02S4: Getting cracked over the head with a hammer, even if
- 11:04S4: you are wearing the helmet.
- 11:05S5: Yeah. And they don't muck around. I would assume that
- 11:08S5: the swords aren't sharp because I probably slice through you,
- 11:12S5: but they're still smashing each other. What are the rules? Um,
- 11:15S5: are the helmets padded? How do you win? What are
- 11:19S5: you allowed to do? What are the parameters of the sport?
- 11:22S5: And then secondly, who is the best in New Zealand
- 11:26S5: as in the best individual and the best team? Because
- 11:29S5: I know that there are teams from all across New Zealand.
- 11:32S5: So if you know any of the questions and any
- 11:35S5: answers to those questions, um, text us through 35200 800
- 11:38S5: rock phone call us.
- 11:39S4: I don't think any of those are stupid questions. We
- 11:41S4: did have a text come through from Tom earlier saying
- 11:43S4: if you're after some weapons, uh, no mercy metal works
- 11:47S4: do medieval weapons. I've been on their Instagram account. They
- 11:50S4: do the sickest medieval weapons. What do you buy? First?
- 11:54S4: You buy the armor first. Or are you buying a
- 11:56S4: weapon first because you could come unstuck buying the weapon, right?
- 11:59S5: Should we ask Jared? Jared from the Hawke's Bay. How are.
- 12:03S16: How are boys? How are.
- 12:05S5: Do you know much about the sport or are you
- 12:07S5: just ringing up for a chat with fellows?
- 12:10S16: Oh no, no, a little bit about it. I got
- 12:13S16: into it for quite a while, so it's pretty full
- 12:15S16: on too.
- 12:16S5: So what is how, what did you do? Did you
- 12:18S5: buy the the armor first or did you buy the
- 12:20S5: weapon first? What was your weapon of choice? Who did
- 12:23S5: you fight alongside? Which flag did you fight under?
- 12:27S16: Yeah, well, I didn't do any fighting boys, but I
- 12:29S16: just loved watching it. But I used to have a
- 12:32S16: family friend that did it. And, um, it's all it's
- 12:34S16: all padded armor inside, but obviously the weapons aren't sharp.
- 12:38S16: They're just blunt. But, um, yeah, so the aim of
- 12:41S16: it is pretty much smash, smash them and get them
- 12:44S16: onto the ground. And once you're on the ground, you're out.
- 12:48S16: You can't hit behind. Like where there's no padding, like
- 12:50S16: behind the legs and stuff like that neck. But anywhere
- 12:54S16: else is fair game.
- 12:56S5: And what are they?
- 12:57S4: Can you spear tackle them?
- 13:00S16: Yeah, you can spare tackle them, Superman. Punch them. You
- 13:03S16: can do whatever you want. You have four guys just
- 13:05S16: dashing one guy until he gives in or you knock
- 13:08S16: him out or something.
- 13:09S5: Um, so in terms of the helmets, uh, do they have, like,
- 13:13S5: padding in them or do they just sit on top
- 13:15S5: of you wearing like a. Well, I imagine like one
- 13:18S5: of those racing fire suit balaclavas that you chuck on,
- 13:21S5: then you chuck a helmet on top of that.
- 13:23S16: Yeah. You got like a balaclava and then your helmet
- 13:26S16: is padded, um, inside. Otherwise she'd be pretty sore.
- 13:31S5: Does it ring like a bell when you get smacked
- 13:33S5: in the head with a hammer?
- 13:34S4: I bet it does.
- 13:35S16: Well, I'd imagine she'd ring like a bell. Alright.
- 13:39S4: Yeah. Amazing. Thank you very much. Cheers. Um, someone just said. Hey, lads.
- 13:43S4: Went to that night fight. It was hectic. They belt
- 13:45S4: the snot out of each other. Bummer. The Aussies cleaned
- 13:48S4: us out pretty hard, but I picked up one of
- 13:49S4: those small axes and it has weight. I have a
- 13:53S4: video if you want it. Share from Hamish.
- 13:54S5: Yeah.
- 13:56S4: That's so sick. Well, look, I say we just buy
- 14:00S4: all the weapons first.
- 14:01S5: Yeah.
- 14:01S4: Just for decoration purposes.
- 14:03S5: Oh, here we go, Eli. G'day, boys. On one of
- 14:06S5: the fighters for the dreadnoughts. Auckland's team, 7 p.m. Mondays
- 14:09S5: and Wednesdays. Shane Cameron Fitness in Northcote. Get amongst.
- 14:12S4: It. I know.
- 14:12S5: I know where that is true. I got beaten up
- 14:14S5: there all the time.
- 14:15S4: Without the armour. Yeah, could have done with some.
- 14:17S6: Enjoying this podcast. I get more of the boys on
- 14:20S6: their other podcast, not for radio uncensored yarns, naughty and
- 14:25S6: laughs with the lads wherever you get your podcasts.
- 14:27S4: Just got onto the subject of the, uh, the, what
- 14:30S4: is it called LARPing or something?
- 14:32S5: Oh, no. So that's live action role playing. I don't
- 14:34S5: know if that's the same thing.
- 14:35S4: So immediately medieval fighting and Knights armor that happened at
- 14:38S4: Brew Town over the weekend. Now just having a look
- 14:41S4: through some of the, um, the finer points when it
- 14:43S4: comes to the rules. No stabbing or thrusting. So if
- 14:46S4: you've got a sword, you can't go stabby stab. Uh,
- 14:49S4: no dangerous joint hyperextensions. No neck weapon leverage. No spine
- 14:54S4: breaking slams like intentional headfirst suplexes, twisting joints against their
- 14:59S4: natural ranges. Also illegal, but dodging someone over the head
- 15:02S4: with a hammer. Sweetheart.
- 15:03S5: I would assume that all of that armor weighs a lot.
- 15:07S5: And then therefore, as an additional thing that would just
- 15:10S5: make you tire super quickly because the the fight area
- 15:13S5: is like pretty massive or relatively big.
- 15:16S4: What is a set of armor going to cost us? Like, uh, a, like,
- 15:20S4: you know, triple XL armor and B, if we have
- 15:23S4: to get the custom made armor for the hugest human
- 15:26S4: we can find in New Zealand, which coincidentally, is not
- 15:30S4: that readily available, we don't have a New Zealand's tallest
- 15:33S4: man and woman competition in New Zealand.
- 15:36S5: We don't.
- 15:36S4: Know. So it's just like, gee, you're pretty, you're a
- 15:38S4: tall bugger. You must be right up there.
- 15:40S5: What we're basically looking for is a Brodie Retallick style human. Um,
- 15:46S5: with the mentality, uh, the, the animalistic mentality of someone like,
- 15:50S5: you know, like David Tua or Shane Cameron, you know, um,
- 15:54S5: Eli from the Dreadnoughts. Uh. G'day, Eli. How are you?
- 15:58S17: Yeah, mate. Nazi. Bear yourselves.
- 16:00S5: Yeah. Not too bad. How did you get into it?
- 16:02S5: How much does it cost?
- 16:05S17: Uh, so the way I got into it. I saw
- 16:07S17: a maccas about a year and a half ago.
- 16:10S4: A magazine.
- 16:11S17: Uh, yeah, the one with the Wellington team on it.
- 16:16S17: So go there then. Why not? Why not give it
- 16:18S17: a go? And here I am.
- 16:20S5: So you did you fight on the weekend?
- 16:24S17: I did, yeah. Personally, I don't do too well, but
- 16:27S17: I'm still there.
- 16:28S5: And you? You're one of the team that trains at, uh,
- 16:31S5: Shane Cameron Fitness. What do you do for training? Do
- 16:33S5: you dress up in all of your stuff?
- 16:35S17: Um, so during the week, we, um, do all our
- 16:40S17: training with soft, soft swords and helmets and stuff.
- 16:44S5: Yeah.
- 16:45S17: So we don't beat each other up too much. Um,
- 16:47S17: every second weekend we'll jump an armor and have a
- 16:49S17: little go.
- 16:50S5: Yes, sir.
- 16:52S4: What's. What's armor going to run us? How much does
- 16:54S4: that cost?
- 16:56S17: Oh, so it depends what you're looking for. Um, personally,
- 16:59S17: my my armor is about nine grand.
- 17:02S4: Oh, geez. You've gone in deep. Has your gold plated?
- 17:06S5: Are you in? Are you? Is that the top end?
- 17:08S5: The top end of the echelon is. I mean, I'm
- 17:10S5: not looking on Temu at any stage, but like, where
- 17:13S5: does that sit in the scheme of things? Can you
- 17:15S5: really ramp it up from there or is that stock standee.
- 17:18S17: Oh, you can't go up from there. I just have
- 17:21S17: expensive taste. Okay. Um, you know, like nice shiny things,
- 17:25S17: you can get cheaper. You can be looking at, uh,
- 17:28S17: about five, five, six grand for a suit of armor.
- 17:30S18: Oh, geez.
- 17:31S17: Um.
- 17:32S4: Okay. Still punchy. What's a bombing run?
- 17:34S17: You owe bombing a couple hundred bucks.
- 17:39S4: You said.
- 17:40S5: It. What about a mace on a chain? Are they
- 17:42S5: the ones that. The spiky ones on a chain?
- 17:45S17: No, no, sadly not those ones.
- 17:48S5: Oh, they locked out?
- 17:49S17: Certainly not those.
- 17:50S5: Okay, well, we look forward to. We look forward to.
- 17:53S5: I mean, this is on the way home for dunks.
- 17:54S5: So it's a short detour. Swing in and have a watch.
- 17:57S4: I want to go in one of the weekend ones.
- 17:59S4: When we see you guys all suit up.
- 18:01S5: Yeah. Let us know when you guys are actually all
- 18:02S5: suited up and going for blood.
- 18:05S17: Yeah. No we'll do we'll do. We'll sort it out.
- 18:07S4: Nice work. Hey, um. Tommy. Knockers. Yay! Mace. Oh, jeez. No,
- 18:13S4: we're not psychos. I'm a fan of swords. Yeah.
- 18:19S5: And I've got his little fist shields, which they punch
- 18:22S5: each other in the face with, like, a dinner plate
- 18:24S5: getting jammed into your face.
- 18:26S4: So ridiculous.
- 18:28S6: Strap in and send it rock drive with Jay and
- 18:32S6: dunk the coin of Destiny.
- 18:41S4: Making big decisions can be stressful. You weigh up the
- 18:43S4: pros and cons. You talk to your mates. You might
- 18:45S4: even seek, I don't know, some professional advice. Or you
- 18:49S4: do what some of Alice is doing. Come and see
- 18:51S4: a couple of idiots on the radio getting to flip
- 18:53S4: their $1 million coin. They got minted the coin of
- 18:57S4: destiny and get the decision made for you. Now, Aaron,
- 19:00S4: you joined us, what, three months ago on the radio show?
- 19:04S19: Uh, yeah. Yeah, it'd be about that around June, I
- 19:07S19: think it was.
- 19:07S5: And what were the two options that you put to
- 19:09S5: the coin? Um, and what was the outcome?
- 19:13S17: Uh, so.
- 19:14S19: It was to sell the, um, the house and, and
- 19:17S19: the amenities that we have to go buy a farm
- 19:21S19: that doesn't have a house and live in the paddock.
- 19:23S18: Yeah. This is one of our first real big ones.
- 19:25S5: That's right. And the coin decided to do what?
- 19:30S19: Uh, live in the paddock.
- 19:31S5: Perfect. So are you now living in the paddock?
- 19:34S19: Um, no, not as yet. Because we still have our
- 19:37S19: house on the market, but we have settled on the farm.
- 19:41S4: Oh, no. So you are you paying bridgeen? How's that working?
- 19:44S4: You're just playing straight up.
- 19:45S19: You know, we got we got bridging. So yeah.
- 19:50S5: That's a great time. Um, are we going to do
- 19:54S5: a are we doing a kind of destiny where we
- 19:56S5: run a free campaign to sell you a house on
- 19:58S5: the Rock.
- 20:01S19: That'll be mentez.
- 20:01S5: Or dunk it as a part of his illustrious portfolio.
- 20:04S4: No, I've got no I've got to buy a personalised
- 20:06S4: plate tomorrow, potentially. I've talked to.
- 20:08S5: Him. Um. Give us give us the. Give us the.
- 20:11S4: Yeah. Where is it. Yeah. Well um you know how
- 20:13S4: many bedroom all that sort of stuff. Because it could
- 20:15S4: be someone listening now that just for whatever reason, hasn't
- 20:18S4: made it to an open home.
- 20:20S17: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:20S19: It's, um, it's a four bedroom, uh, brick and tile, uh,
- 20:24S19: overlooks the Kaipara Harbour. Um, out. Um, what? Kaukapakapa, which
- 20:30S19: is sort of ten minutes from Helensville.
- 20:33S4: Yep.
- 20:33S19: Beautiful. Yeah.
- 20:36S4: And, uh.
- 20:37S19: Yeah.
- 20:37S4: Sorry. What's the number? What do you need?
- 20:42S19: Uh, around the 1.6 mark.
- 20:44S4: And how many? What sort of land is it on?
- 20:47S19: It's got seven and a half acres. Um, it's got, um,
- 20:52S19: got a big, big shed, uh, stables. Um, arena.
- 20:57S5: Oh, wow. Are you still, do you still throw in the, um,
- 21:01S5: the hydro slide and the Olympic pool and the games
- 21:05S5: room and the Ferrari and the, and the shed or
- 21:08S5: is that taking that with you?
- 21:10S19: Uh, no. Taking that with us. Yeah. We can. Yeah.
- 21:13S19: Slip and slide down the paddocks.
- 21:14S4: Which is essentially that's what I always like to have.
- 21:16S4: My houses has put the hydro slide in before any
- 21:18S4: sort of form of bedrooms. Yeah. Um, okay. Aaron, do
- 21:22S4: you know what, like myself and Jase legitimately and people
- 21:25S4: down the country may be like whatever, but like, my
- 21:27S4: jaw just hit the floor being like, you can get
- 21:29S4: that much like that close to Auckland. Crazy.
- 21:31S5: Not to mention it's literally smack bang in the, uh,
- 21:35S5: and the development path of progress for Auckland.
- 21:38S4: Yeah.
- 21:38S19: Yeah. 100%.
- 21:40S4: Okay. Well, um what I'm going to do if anybody's
- 21:42S4: keen to check out the listing, I'll get you to
- 21:45S4: text it through and then we'll bounce it straight back
- 21:47S4: to them because hopefully somebody can help you out. I mean,
- 21:49S4: it sounds like that's the sort of property someone's going
- 21:51S4: to buy and be mega happy with, and then you
- 21:53S4: can get the bridging off your plate and then, uh,
- 21:55S4: get on with building on the farm.
- 21:57S5: You know what? Hang on a second. Brad the boss, uh,
- 22:01S5: and his lovely lady, she is a horse rider, has horses,
- 22:06S5: is also in the market for a house. Um, and
- 22:10S5: Brad is loaded.
- 22:12S4: Okay.
- 22:12S19: Oh, yeah. But he's been spending a lot of time overseas,
- 22:15S19: hasn't he?
- 22:16S5: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:16S4: Correction.
- 22:17S5: Brad was Brad was loaded, but he's also been on
- 22:19S5: the corporate tit for the last couple of trips. He's okay.
- 22:24S4: Hey, mate. Um. Hold there. We'll, um, get forward on
- 22:28S4: any text messages. Um, the listing of your house. Are
- 22:30S4: you text?
- 22:31S5: Hang on, hang on. How close are you to the
- 22:32S5: South Head golf course. Brad. Other. Brad is inquiring. Is
- 22:37S5: it golf cartable.
- 22:39S19: No no no no. Or if you've got water tires,
- 22:43S19: maybe you might be able to go over the Kaipara
- 22:45S19: Harbour and pretty much. Yeah.
- 22:46S5: Okay.
- 22:47S4: That'd be sick. All right. That's it. Good luck mate.
- 22:50S4: Hold their ticks that through on three, five, two zero.
- 22:52S4: And if you're keen on checking out his joint, you
- 22:53S4: can text three, five, two zero as well. And we'll
- 22:55S4: bounce back the link in a couple of minutes.
- 22:57S6: Yeah. The boys rock drive with Jay and dunk the
- 23:02S6: coin of Destiny.
- 23:09S4: Okay, for those that are new to the show, welcome on.
- 23:12S4: And this is Rock drive with Jay and Dunk. Earlier
- 23:15S4: in the year, we got a $1 million coin minted
- 23:18S4: at 70mm wide. Super heavy has myself and Jay's face
- 23:22S4: on one side. Uh, and then the other side is
- 23:24S4: obviously the tail. So heads and tails. If you put
- 23:27S4: your life in the hands of the coin of destiny,
- 23:30S4: you have to roll with whatever it says.
- 23:33S5: And to be fair, we haven't really been put astray
- 23:37S5: by the coin thus far. Like, I mean, I've even
- 23:40S5: had stuff that I really willed to happen, but it's
- 23:44S5: gone now. It's not happening J. The coin has spoken
- 23:47S5: as a result of that. This just doesn't happen.
- 23:49S4: The coin kind of works best if you've got an
- 23:52S4: option A and option B that you can't decide on. Yeah,
- 23:55S4: not one you want to do more than the other.
- 23:57S4: It's just like, are you stuck on it? And you're like,
- 23:59S4: I'm in and ah, and you just want the umming
- 24:00S4: and ahhing to be over.
- 24:02S5: It could be massive decisions, big life decisions. Um, location changes,
- 24:07S5: vocation changes. Um, you know, we haven't been, we haven't
- 24:12S5: asked anybody or nobody's asked the coin whether or not
- 24:14S5: they should leave their partner. But I'm sure that's going
- 24:16S5: to come up eventually as well. You know.
- 24:17S4: You need a voice changer for that. Alec welcome to
- 24:19S4: the show.
- 24:21S20: How you going?
- 24:22S4: Yeah. Ah, good.
- 24:23S5: Ah, good. Now you've you've got some very exciting news,
- 24:27S5: but some, uh, some things are just left best for
- 24:31S5: you to discover on the spot at the time, but
- 24:35S5: you're thinking that maybe you want to expediate that process
- 24:38S5: and find out now, is that right?
- 24:41S20: That's correct.
- 24:42S5: So what is the situation?
- 24:44S20: So, uh. Yeah, got my first child on the way. Yeah.
- 24:48S21: Congratulations. You little beauty.
- 24:56S20: Um, yeah. So kids do, uh, end of March. So
- 24:59S20: I was wondering if we should, uh, let the coin
- 25:01S20: decide if I find out the gender or not next week.
- 25:03S4: Oh. All right.
- 25:04S5: So how does, how does your partner, where does she
- 25:08S5: sit on this?
- 25:09S20: Uh, she doesn't want to find out. Either way. I
- 25:11S20: was just going to keep it a secret.
- 25:13S5: Mhm.
- 25:13S20: Okay. Um, she probably changed her mind anyway, but, um.
- 25:16S4: Okay. I don't mind this. Okay.
- 25:19S5: Alrighty.
- 25:19S20: What do you reckon?
- 25:20S4: I reckon, I reckon.
- 25:21S5: Don't ask us, buddy.
- 25:22S4: How'd you find out? But don't tell the wife, tails.
- 25:25S4: You don't find out.
- 25:26S5: If you've just joined us. It's a gender reveal. Okay.
- 25:31S4: Okay. Five. Four. Three. Two.
- 25:35S21: One. Coin has been tossed.
- 25:42S6: Heads!
- 25:44S5: Get it in an envelope, buddy. Keep it a secret.
- 25:48S20: God.
- 25:48S21: That's awesome. How sick is that?
- 25:52S4: I like.
- 25:52S20: That. That's cool. Yeah. Cheers.
- 25:54S4: Hey. Nice work.
- 25:54S5: Hey. Congratulations again. Um, give give your lovely lady a
- 25:58S5: massive squeeze. Because there is. I would have to say this.
- 26:01S5: Being a man, probably nothing in the world that is
- 26:03S5: tougher than creating a body inside your body and then
- 26:07S5: pushing it out of your body. So it's the women
- 26:09S5: in our lives, the mothers, they are just absolute superstars.
- 26:13S20: It's incredible. It's definitely easy being the bloke in the situation.
- 26:16S4: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Never has a truer word been said
- 26:20S4: on this show. Nice work. Hold there. We'll get you out.
- 26:24S4: Something to say. Congrats on on the baby coming along
- 26:27S4: as well.
- 26:28S5: And just. Can we get Alec back on? Mhm. Uh,
- 26:30S5: how about do you want to go double or nothing? Heads,
- 26:33S5: regardless of gender. Um, it's called dunk and tails. Jay.
- 26:37S4: What about.
- 26:38S21: Oh.
- 26:39S20: I don't.
- 26:39S21: Know.
- 26:40S4: What about Jay and Dunk? Get to name the baby tails.
- 26:45S4: You guys get to name the babies.
- 26:46S5: We'll come back to that one. Let's just take this
- 26:48S5: baby step, shall we? One at a time.
- 26:53S21: Good stuff mate.
- 26:54S4: Didn't say no. That's what I noticed.
- 26:58S5: Oh, that is. That is pretty cool.
- 27:00S4: Yeah, man. Magic. What a time.
- 27:02S6: Yeah, the fella rock drive with Jay and Dunk.
- 27:07S4: Yeah. Just gonna move on to this one because I
- 27:09S4: want to play it for you. It is a little
- 27:10S4: bit long, but worth it. There's an Australian comedian now.
- 27:13S4: He picture this like you're walking. You're a skinny bloke.
- 27:17S5: Yeah that's me.
- 27:18S4: And and then uh, same could be said for me.
- 27:22S5: You're not you're non-athletic is basically where he's going.
- 27:25S4: So he was, uh, this Aussie comedians like, I'm gonna
- 27:28S4: go have a sauna, you know, and your togs or whatever,
- 27:31S4: Chuck the towel over your shoulder, grab your drink bottle
- 27:34S4: and the woolly sock and get ready to sweat out
- 27:37S4: the weekend's badness. And then you sit down, you think
- 27:41S4: you've got the whole thing to yourself. And so this
- 27:44S4: is Tom Cashman. And then in Start Walking, a whole
- 27:48S4: bunch of All Blacks.
- 27:50S22: Dealing for work. And I was in the sauna there
- 27:51S22: at night in a fancy hotel. And then a guy
- 27:53S22: walks in, probably the fittest buffers guy I've ever seen, right?
- 27:56S22: He walks in, he sits down and then another guy
- 27:58S22: like him and then a third guy. Cut to there's
- 27:59S22: nine of these guys around me, right? They were being
- 28:01S22: really emotionally supportive of each other. They were being really lovely.
- 28:04S22: They were squirting each other with water. I was loving it. Anyway,
- 28:08S22: I'm eavesdropping. And then I hear them say this. I
- 28:10S22: hear them kind of whispering. They're like, did you hear
- 28:11S22: the big dogs coming down the sauna? They're like, fuck off.
- 28:13S22: The big dog never comes to the sauna. They're like,
- 28:15S22: the big dogs come to the sauna right now. I'm there. Like,
- 28:17S22: there are bigger dogs than these dogs. And then the
- 28:20S22: big dog walks in. He's like, boys. He wasn't even
- 28:23S22: like physically big. He was like older. He was clearly
- 28:25S22: a coach of some kind, right? So he comes in,
- 28:26S22: he's like, boys, they're all like big dog. And then
- 28:29S22: he does a scan of the room. He's the first
- 28:30S22: guy to even look at me because he's like, boys.
- 28:32S22: And then he spots me, his eyes wider and he
- 28:34S22: points and he's like, are you all right, mate? And
- 28:38S22: fair enough. I'm the one skinny guy amongst these behemoths
- 28:40S22: like Big Dog. And I was proud of what I
- 28:44S22: said back. I had something like this planned and I
- 28:45S22: nailed the delivery. He's like, are you all right, mate?
- 28:47S22: And I said, I'm fine. In fact, I'll see you
- 28:49S22: boys at practice tomorrow morning. Huge laugh from the boys.
- 28:54S22: From the boys. That's the kind of humour guys like
- 28:56S22: that love like you on the field with us. As
- 28:59S22: if you little dickhead are. Probably one of the best
- 29:03S22: moments of my life. A huge laugh in an enclosed
- 29:06S22: space from nine football players. I swear someone slapped me
- 29:09S22: on the back. I probably imagined that bit, but it
- 29:10S22: felt like a back slapping vibe in there. I was
- 29:13S22: king for a day and of course it immediately went
- 29:15S22: to my head and I blew it because I was
- 29:17S22: then emboldened to chat. Before I'd been quite respectful, I
- 29:20S22: was eavesdropping, but I didn't try and bother them. But
- 29:21S22: now I got a big laugh. I was emboldened to chat.
- 29:23S22: The big dog sat down and I turned to the
- 29:24S22: guy next to me and I'm like, what team are
- 29:26S22: you guys? And he's like, oh, we're the All Blacks.
- 29:28S22: I'm like, fucking hell. Then after like five minutes, I'm
- 29:31S22: too hot. I step down on platform and then my
- 29:33S22: foot was in the air, about to step down onto
- 29:35S22: the tiles where there was a bit of a puddle
- 29:36S22: as my foot is in the air. The big dog
- 29:38S22: leans around and he says, careful, you don't slip in
- 29:40S22: your jandals, mate. And that's like a New Zealand word
- 29:44S22: for slippers or flip flops or whatever. And that's when
- 29:46S22: I look down. I'm wearing the fancy little hotel slippers
- 29:48S22: they give you. No one else in the room is
- 29:50S22: wearing any footwear at all. There's a reason you wear those,
- 29:53S22: by the way, so you don't get athlete's foot. They
- 29:54S22: should know that they're athletes. But I stepped down. I
- 29:59S22: don't slip or anything. And then I turn to leave.
- 30:01S22: And then in my head I'm like, hang on, I'm
- 30:02S22: getting made fun of by the big dog in front
- 30:04S22: of the boys. I was getting big laughs in here before.
- 30:06S22: I need to have a comeback of some kind. So
- 30:08S22: I turn around and then I'm like, yeah, well, at
- 30:10S22: least I'm not going to get tinea. Silence from the
- 30:16S22: boys if you don't know what tinea is. Neither did they.
- 30:22S22: It's the scientific word for athlete's foot, which I know
- 30:24S22: because I have it. Okay. As I close the door,
- 30:27S22: I realize something pretty important. I realized I thought the
- 30:30S22: big dog was making fun of me because Jandal sounds
- 30:32S22: like a funny word. It sounds like a derogatory word
- 30:34S22: to me, like your jandals. But then I realized that's
- 30:35S22: the main word New Zealanders use to describe flip flops
- 30:38S22: or slippers or whatever. Then I realized I think he
- 30:40S22: was just being nice. Like if you don't slip in
- 30:41S22: the puddle and I've turned around like you're all going
- 30:43S22: to get fungus on your toes. Fungus, fungus, fungus, fungus.
- 30:48S4: The best thing about that is he obviously put it
- 30:50S4: on the internet. It's gone. All right. And then, uh,
- 30:53S4: the All Blacks come in saying just for, um, just
- 30:55S4: confirming our athletes do not have athlete's feet.
- 31:00S6: Rock drive with Jay and Dunk.
- 31:02S4: We got onto the subject of Jerry Springer yesterday on
- 31:06S4: the show. Now I'm going to play. We've got two
- 31:09S4: things to happen here. We're going to play you a
- 31:11S4: must watch, which is the Jerry Springer doco that's out
- 31:15S4: on Netflix. It's called lights camera action. Basically like a
- 31:19S4: for the most part, people try to say it's real.
- 31:22S4: It wasn't real. But it was a great watch.
- 31:25S5: Though as a kid.
- 31:25S4: I was like, oh man, a hectic, um, reality T.V.
- 31:29S4: show style thing, like a talkback show where you just
- 31:32S4: got the most ridiculous scenarios of family members having stuff
- 31:36S4: going on. For example, here is a title of a
- 31:39S4: show picked out at random. My baby daddy has 12 kids,
- 31:44S4: other kids, 12 other kids. Um, we're gonna get to
- 31:48S4: some more of those shortly and just see how many
- 31:50S4: we reckon would fly in 2026. But first, I want
- 31:53S4: to play the trailer for this. Um, if you want
- 31:55S4: sent to your mobile phone as per, you can text
- 31:57S4: watch to 3520. This is the doco on Jerry Springer
- 32:02S4: after this.
- 32:02S23: I'm never talking about this show ever again. Jerry Springer
- 32:09S23: I don't think anybody knew how crazy this show was
- 32:12S23: going to be.
- 32:12S24: I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for everything
- 32:16S24: I've ever done. I have ruined the culture.
- 32:21S25: At the beginning of 1992, Jerry Springer was coming to
- 32:25S25: Chicago to launch a talk show.
- 32:28S23: We were this little band of crazy people just trying
- 32:32S23: to survive the week. All I had to do was
- 32:34S23: convince him, let's make it wild.
- 32:36S25: The variety show and a weekly magazine. Compare the fights
- 32:39S25: to pro wrestling.
- 32:41S23: Teeth were knocked out.
- 32:42S26: It really was the modern version of the Roman Colosseum.
- 32:46S26: Springer is the first talk show host ever to knock
- 32:49S26: Oprah Winfrey off her throne as the queen of daytime talk.
- 32:52S23: It became a cultural icon.
- 32:54S26: I want the show to demonstrate outrageousness. Yes.
- 32:59S25: The bigger that show got, it raised questions about what
- 33:04S25: really went on backstage.
- 33:08S27: The producers were coaching us on what to say and
- 33:11S27: how to act. They weren't interested in what kind of
- 33:14S27: impact it was going to have on you.
- 33:17S23: I don't think my mother had any idea what she
- 33:20S23: was walking into. Some stories went too far.
- 33:26S28: And the man who married his horse and wants to
- 33:29S28: come on the show.
- 33:30S26: What kind of trash television will not be tolerated?
- 33:33S23: I just wish I could go back and save her.
- 33:35S23: Don't do it.
- 33:37S25: This was the most vile and grotesque freak show that's
- 33:41S25: ever been on television.
- 33:43S23: We just started pushing the needle towards red. Let's see
- 33:48S23: how far we can push it.
- 33:52S25: I would hope that you would.
- 33:53S29: Feel some sense of responsibility.
- 33:55S26: It's a television show. It's a television show.
- 33:59S23: We will all survive it.
- 34:05S30: Jerry. Jerry. Jerry. Jerry. Jerry.
- 34:09S5: And that is what you want to text the three, five, two,
- 34:11S5: zero and I'll show you and it'll give you the
- 34:12S5: Netflix link and that. So JERRY to 520 and that'll
- 34:18S5: get you away. But there was there would always be
- 34:20S5: these moments where he would come on and be holier
- 34:23S5: than thou and just just drill some poor person.
- 34:26S4: Pull them into line, or do your classic dressing down
- 34:29S4: or someone that needed a dressing down, but not before
- 34:32S4: he'd milked them drive their content.
- 34:33S5: Yeah. Well, normally what we'd start is I'd have a
- 34:35S5: couple of guests that come out there or one one
- 34:37S5: guest in particular, and then they'd bring on the other person.
- 34:39S5: They'd come flying out and punch the person out of
- 34:41S5: the chair, and then security guards get involved and there'd
- 34:44S5: be a massive dust up. And then the the dust
- 34:47S5: would settle before they brought another person in to do
- 34:50S5: the same thing.
- 34:52S4: So it was almost like a talk show, like a
- 34:55S4: hillbilly talk show version of the WWE. Yeah. Um, uh,
- 34:59S4: Jenny's just mentioned saying there's nothing but reruns of Jerry
- 35:02S4: Springer if you got a Samsung TV and on one
- 35:04S4: of the Samsung channels.
- 35:06S5: So this is a, I mean, this is something that
- 35:07S5: everybody can play. Um, someone can be Benny's vote in
- 35:10S5: this one. Okay. By texting him to 3520. These are
- 35:13S5: the titles. Would it would this Would this run smoothly
- 35:17S5: without any form of complaint in 2026?
- 35:21S4: These are just the titles of the episodes that have
- 35:24S4: already been to Air Panty Free Zone.
- 35:28S5: MM.
- 35:28S4: What do you reckon? Probably not. Yeah.
- 35:31S5: Six with 200 people. Lesbian strippers share their cookies.
- 35:39S4: What? It could be wholesome.
- 35:44S5: Seducing my transsexual sister's man. Let me have my hose.
- 35:54S4: Don't even know if you can still say that. No.
- 35:56S4: Can you say hose.
- 35:57S5: Catfish and release.
- 35:59S4: Catfish and release boy?
- 36:03S5: Um.
- 36:04S4: Why don't you just rattle off all of them? Because
- 36:05S4: I think if you just go hammers on down there,
- 36:08S4: we can just get a real vibe. For what? Yeah.
- 36:10S4: You know how far we've come.
- 36:12S5: Pay up or put out. We can share him. Watch
- 36:15S5: your mouth. And your man. I had sex with my brother. Bisexual. Workaholic. Strippers.
- 36:21S5: Husband stealing. Lesbian. Strange experiment. Dude. Try a transsexual.
- 36:32S31: Oh my God.
- 36:33S5: Heartless hacking hoes.
- 36:36S4: This is.
- 36:36S5: So. Jerry. Jerry.
- 36:39S6: The Rock drive podcast.
- 36:41S4: I'm not even lying. Just while that song was playing.
- 36:43S4: I think I may have found the bloke with the
- 36:45S4: coolest voice ever. You tried to claim this a couple
- 36:48S4: of weeks ago. I'm going to crush you.
- 36:51S5: This guy, the guy that I had, was from Mississippi.
- 36:55S5: He was great.
- 36:56S4: So I would say at a guess. Hard to tell,
- 37:00S4: but I reckon the bloke that I've got, like no
- 37:04S4: older than 35.
- 37:05S5: Wow.
- 37:06S4: Could easily be like 27 or something like that.
- 37:10S5: It's not Colter Wall is it?
- 37:11S4: No. His Instagram handle was voice of a dying giant.
- 37:19S4: He has 775,000 followers and he chucked up this video
- 37:27S4: and he was probably shouldn't have. He wanted to keep
- 37:29S4: his voice fresh for the following day's voiceover. He is
- 37:32S4: a voiceover artist. Like, once you hear him, you'd be like,
- 37:35S4: I can see why, because he had a pretty big
- 37:38S4: job and he decided to do a bit of a
- 37:39S4: run through. Here we go.
- 37:41S32: I gotta protect my voice for tomorrow, but here you go.
- 37:45S32: You cannot save yourself from me. I am as inevitable
- 37:51S32: as destiny. Your minions may think they are wearing me down, Optimus,
- 37:58S32: but with every attack, they are feeding me.
- 38:03S5: Oh, hiccup, you be able to spot him though. He'll
- 38:07S5: be the bloke pushing the wheelbarrow down the road with
- 38:09S5: his nuts in it.
- 38:10S4: So what we're going to do? Because I can listen
- 38:13S4: to so many of those. Should I just go another one?
- 38:15S5: Yeah, just pick them.
- 38:17S4: Pick up another one here. Um, we'll put a link
- 38:19S4: to him in the episode description.
- 38:21S5: Richie Simpson, who's the, uh, the voice of the righteous Texan.
- 38:24S5: One trick pony.
- 38:27S4: Have a go at this one here.
- 38:31S32: I dentity matters only to those who have the ability
- 38:35S32: to think my immortals and lynch God. Perhaps my lords
- 38:43S32: and Cryptics, certainly for the remainder of my vassals. Well,
- 38:52S32: suffice to say that the concept of glory is wasted
- 38:56S32: on the inglorious order. Unity, obedience. We taught the galaxy
- 39:06S32: these things long ago. And we will do so again.
- 39:13S4: So many, so many views on that one there. Even Instagram.
- 39:17S4: The Instagram account for Instagram comedy. Well, this scratches our
- 39:22S4: brains so good. Yeah. So voice of a dying giant.
- 39:26S4: If you want to follow Frankie Drummond Lowry I'd say
- 39:29S4: he's going all right as far as voice overs go.
- 39:32S5: It's so impressive when you see someone that can deliver.
- 39:34S4: Not even that old.
- 39:35S5: Like.
- 39:35S4: It sounds like I don't know. He smoked all of
- 39:38S4: the cigarettes.
- 39:39S5: It's a rolls voice.
- 39:40S4: It is. Well done.
- 39:42S6: Tell us what's next, fellas.
- 39:43S5: I'm kind of telling that little whistle back in that
- 39:45S5: he's punched a few lung busters a.
- 39:47S4: It's got to be hard to top that one. Best
- 39:51S4: if you think you can. If you've got a voiceover artist,
- 39:53S4: it's got to call a voice by all means. Takes
- 39:56S4: us the account three, five, two, zero is our text number.
- 39:59S4: I might do this one for the. Yes. Westley.
- 40:01S33: Yeah, I've just put a great one there in purple
- 40:03S33: for you, man. That's probably way better than the other guy.
- 40:05S4: Oh, okay. Hang on.
- 40:06S17: Oh.
- 40:09S4: Not bad. Not bad up there.
- 40:15S6: Oh sounds feral. I love it. Rock drive with Jay
- 40:19S6: and Dunk.
- 40:19S4: In case you were hanging out with us, the more
- 40:21S4: E guys chatting about before is going to be returned
- 40:24S4: to New Zealand. Apparently only 37 more eggs still intact worldwide,
- 40:30S4: which I reckon this is a bit of a bargain.
- 40:32S4: So it sold at auction for 18,500 in the US.
- 40:37S4: It's not bad because it's only 37 intact.
- 40:39S5: Yeah. I wonder what you can do with them. I
- 40:42S5: wonder what sort of um DNA that you'd be able to.
- 40:45S5: Are they blowing eggs.
- 40:47S4: Yeah. Don't know. Oh you imagine like, um one of
- 40:49S4: those ones with a little wee cheeky hole in it
- 40:51S4: or something. They've filled up resin maybe.
- 40:53S5: Yeah, a bit stinky if it wasn't.
- 40:55S4: Yeah. Hell of an omelet. But you won't be doing
- 40:57S4: that one unless they get resurrected. And Sam Neill is
- 40:59S4: the one spearheading that. Wasn't he before he passed away?
- 41:02S4: So maybe it won't happen. I'm just going to bring
- 41:04S4: in Westie Lee here because Westie Lee's been flat out, um,
- 41:07S4: earlier this year. He's lucky enough to purchase his first
- 41:09S4: home for his family. And as soon as you said
- 41:13S4: you were going to be looking at redoing the deck,
- 41:15S4: I got excited because I've now done two decks on
- 41:18S4: my last two houses, and it's just the best money
- 41:21S4: ever spent when it comes to renos, mate.
- 41:23S33: It is. It's it's it's pretty much done. And it
- 41:26S33: looks so shit hot. Like the deck that was there.
- 41:30S33: The previous deck was so bad, like it was the
- 41:33S33: house was built in the 80s. The deck was probably
- 41:36S33: built around the same time.
- 41:37S4: And you're and you're in a bush too. So it's
- 41:39S4: super weird. Like it's it's not easy for a deck
- 41:41S4: being a big hard deck comes. It becomes a big
- 41:44S4: soft deck.
- 41:44S33: That also doesn't excuse the fact that one of the
- 41:48S33: piles was just resting on a brick. Yeah. Underneath and
- 41:51S33: wasn't concreted.
- 41:51S4: In standard operating procedure.
- 41:53S33: Standard operating in the 80s. Yeah, she'll be right, mate.
- 41:55S33: So yeah, I've got my deck all sorted. I said
- 41:57S33: to my builder yesterday I was like, mate, when we
- 41:59S33: when you're screwing down the last, the last deck paling,
- 42:02S33: I was like can I, can I screw the last
- 42:04S33: screw in? And he goes, yeah, I'll come and get you.
- 42:06S33: And he came and got me and he goes, mate,
- 42:07S33: you can screw in the last two and I am
- 42:09S33: right now. At this point in my life, a wizard
- 42:12S33: on a on a power drill.
- 42:14S30: 0000.
- 42:19S31: Oh.
- 42:20S34: You little beauty.
- 42:24S33: Nice to. Listen to. You know, there's a there's a
- 42:32S33: talk head on the drill. Screw. Yeah. Thing. Yeah yeah.
- 42:36S5: Yeah. It sounded like you pushed it all the way
- 42:38S5: through to the other side as well, which is great.
- 42:40S33: Well, I did it in two goes, so I reckon
- 42:42S33: it's sitting maybe, uh, maybe 1.5, maybe two mil on level.
- 42:46S33: So you're not going to catch it on your, on
- 42:47S33: your on your on your blister, on your foot.
- 42:49S4: And uh, yeah, you don't want that popping up.
- 42:50S33: No, definitely not. And then I used a saw or
- 42:53S33: a track saw. Okay. So he's like, mate, come and
- 42:55S33: have a go at this. Just saw off these edges
- 42:56S33: on the deck, mate. And I jumped on that bad
- 42:58S33: boy and had heaps of fun.
- 43:01S34: Oh, wait. Hang on. That's a bit of the deck falling.
- 43:14S33: Off onto the.
- 43:15S34: Ground.
- 43:15S4: Ah, the best man.
- 43:17S33: It's so cool. And I got a delivery this morning
- 43:19S33: at 7 a.m.. I was up at six. I felt
- 43:21S33: like a traitor. I know they're up way earlier, but
- 43:23S33: this is the most working class I think I've ever been. Uh,
- 43:26S33: helped the guy on a high ebb deliver a massive
- 43:28S33: flat pack. Bit of kit that I'm going to get
- 43:30S33: stuck into this weekend. Um, there will be more to
- 43:33S33: come on that, but, uh, let's let me just say
- 43:35S33: this about that. It's going to be mega. It's going
- 43:38S33: to be so good. And I've basically doubled the size
- 43:41S33: of the floor space at my house by putting this
- 43:43S33: awesome deck out just in time for summer. And, um, man,
- 43:46S33: I'm so pumped. This is I can see now why
- 43:48S33: you get so excited about this stuff.
- 43:49S4: It's the best.
- 43:50S33: It's yours. That's my dick.
- 43:52S4: Yeah.
- 43:52S5: And also when you, um, and we were just talking
- 43:54S5: about it earlier in the show, when you walk out
- 43:56S5: onto that every single day, you can understand why you're
- 43:59S5: going to work. Oh yeah. You know, it's one of
- 44:01S5: those realizing moments.
- 44:02S33: Mhm.
- 44:03S4: And also good luck putting 60m² of usable living space
- 44:08S4: added onto your house with a roof on it. 60m²
- 44:11S4: of debt costs you about 20 grand. You know, mate,
- 44:14S4: 40 squares or whatever it is.
- 44:15S33: I'm. I'm so pumped and there's still so much more
- 44:17S33: to come. And I'm really excited about that. I never
- 44:19S33: thought I'd be excited about manual labor in any sense,
- 44:22S33: regardless of the fact as whether it was my house
- 44:24S33: and I was doing a Reno or an improvement on it.
- 44:26S33: But I'm just I've just had my my mindset absolutely changed.
- 44:29S33: And I have so much a newfound respect for, for
- 44:32S33: people that do that kind of stuff because holy hell,
- 44:34S33: these builders have been going like the absolute clappers to
- 44:36S33: get this done. It was a much bigger job than
- 44:37S33: we thought. We didn't blow the budget out too much. Um,
- 44:40S33: but it's, it's looking so good. And I'm just going
- 44:42S33: to go out there and bring on some light on it. Yeah.
- 44:44S33: Can't wait.
- 44:45S4: Roll around. I expect the end of your video that
- 44:47S4: you're shooting to have you roll around in your undies
- 44:49S4: on it. The the people want it. I reckon we
- 44:52S4: could make that happen.
- 44:54S5: It's just set of speeds and a split tool belt
- 44:58S5: on it. You know, a handyman holster.
- 45:02S4: Jeez. You want the hits? Mate? That'll do it.
- 45:04S6: Rock drive with Jay and Dunk.
- 45:06S4: Speaking of press conferences, this joker didn't turn up to
- 45:09S4: a single one of them, but it still ended up
- 45:11S4: getting himself into, uh, local councils. So he's a 33
- 45:15S4: year old by the name of Brady Rogers. He just
- 45:17S4: won a seat on the British Columbia City Council, placing
- 45:21S4: fourth out of 37 candidates with 12,635 votes. And you go,
- 45:27S4: who cares? Well, he did a whole campaign on saying,
- 45:30S4: I'm completely unqualified. I'm disinterested in politics. And then it
- 45:34S4: went viral. So he'd chuck up like, um, these sorts
- 45:37S4: of campaign slogans. Brady Rogers for mayor, followed by just kidding,
- 45:41S4: city council. Do I enjoy politics? No. Do I know
- 45:45S4: what I'm doing? No. But am I qualified also? No.
- 45:49S4: Just trying to pay my rent. I barely want to
- 45:53S4: do this. Don't worry, I'll fix everything with a disclaimer.
- 45:56S4: Terms and conditions apply.
- 45:58S5: It's probably quite refreshing to a very, very, very stale
- 46:02S5: thing that happens on an annualized. And, you know, I'll
- 46:06S5: tell you what.
- 46:06S4: It's hard to get excited by politics.
- 46:08S5: Yeah. It's hard. So why it's very hard to get
- 46:11S5: your head around why someone would want to do it.
- 46:15S4: Yeah.
- 46:16S5: Like I don't think.
- 46:16S4: Is it you join one of those like, um, you know,
- 46:19S4: like the young leaders like of a party or whatever,
- 46:22S4: you join one of those clubs in high school and
- 46:24S4: then you get too far down the rabbit hole to
- 46:26S4: back out. I can understand why if you've been doing
- 46:29S4: business and you've clocked business and you're like, well, where
- 46:32S4: else can I go and ply my trade to see
- 46:34S4: if I can, you know, use the skill set to
- 46:36S4: be better somewhere else?
- 46:37S5: Yeah. But also it's like, you look at everybody that
- 46:40S5: we've got that's, that's been through it. And you go, yes,
- 46:43S5: you might have clocked business probably that would be a
- 46:46S5: couple of people. John Key and Luxi would probably be
- 46:49S5: the only ones that you could say that have done
- 46:50S5: that they've made. And by clocking business, I mean they've
- 46:52S5: made a lot of money work for big corporations prior
- 46:54S5: to that. They haven't. People haven't really been qualified to
- 46:57S5: do anything nor actually run any sort of business. And
- 47:00S5: then you go. Congratulations. You clocked in New Zealand business
- 47:03S5: New Zealand. The scheme thinks 5 million people. Tell me.
- 47:06S5: Get someone that's been running a multinational, huge corporation from
- 47:09S5: the other side of the planet that comes back from
- 47:11S5: Norway and goes, hey, here's a whole bunch of great
- 47:14S5: ideas that I've seen. I've been earning $70 million a
- 47:17S5: year for the last however many years. I won't charge
- 47:19S5: you a cent, but I want our country to survive
- 47:21S5: and be great and then apply all of that knowledge.
- 47:23S5: At the moment, we've just got you said this. No,
- 47:26S5: I didn't, you said that and it's just kids bickering.
- 47:29S4: What you've asked for is a mythical creature called the unicorn.
- 47:32S4: And they do not exist.
- 47:35S5: But unfortunately, unless you are picking animals for the Scottish flag.
- 47:40S4: Uh, well, I think they just told them they existed,
- 47:44S4: but they were hammered and they agreed. And then they got.
- 47:46S4: That's the national animal now.
- 47:48S5: Not a bad one to have.
- 47:50S4: Well, who.
- 47:50S5: Would win in a fight out of a kiwi and
- 47:53S5: a unicorn?
- 47:54S4: It depends. If they had lasers on its eyes like
- 47:55S4: the flag reform one that almost went through.
- 47:58S5: Check, mate.
- 47:59S4: That was close to happening.
- 48:00S6: Hey, go well go long, go deep rock drive a.
- 48:07S4: Chance for us to get to some of the stuff
- 48:08S4: we haven't had a chance to get to. First of all,
- 48:10S4: I want to play. This one. Had a message from
- 48:13S4: a bloke saying, my old man is selling the number plate. Duncan,
- 48:16S4: would you be interested? Interested? Duncan, have you got the
- 48:19S4: phone call I took? Jay hasn't heard this. He's busy
- 48:21S4: chatting somebody else in the studio while a song was playing.
- 48:24S31: Hello.
- 48:24S4: G'day, mate. Don't care. How are you?
- 48:27S17: Not too bad, bro. Yourself?
- 48:28S4: Yeah. Good. What does he want for her?
- 48:30S17: Um, I'll hit him up tonight and I'll let. I'll
- 48:33S17: see what? What's the best way to get hold of you?
- 48:35S4: I just text you in the afternoon. We read them
- 48:37S4: all as they come through, bro. Or you can message
- 48:39S4: me on, um, Instagram is probably the best one.
- 48:41S17: Oh, yeah. Okay then. Yeah, it's got like, um, I'm
- 48:44S17: going to have a beer with Duncan cos he's my mate.
- 48:48S31: You kidding me?
- 48:50S17: I know shit bro. Yeah.
- 48:51S31: That is amazing.
- 48:53S4: Yeah. All right. Well you have a chat to him. Um. Yeah.
- 48:56S4: I mean, that's a bloody cool opportunity. So um. Yeah.
- 48:59S4: See what, see what he reckons and let me know.
- 49:01S17: I thought there's no one better to have this plate
- 49:03S17: than you, bro.
- 49:04S4: Mate. I would be frigging honoured. That is like. Uh. Yeah,
- 49:07S4: it's bloody real special stuff.
- 49:09S17: Yeah, yeah. So, um, I'll go see him tonight, and
- 49:11S17: I'll flick you guys through a message tomorrow and let
- 49:13S17: you know I'll hustle your deal.
- 49:14S4: Yeah. Perfect. Awesome. Cheers, brother. Appreciate that.
- 49:17S17: Awesome, bro. Thank you.
- 49:17S4: All right. See ya mate. Something tells me I'll probably
- 49:20S4: be the one that ends up getting hustled. Yeah.
- 49:22S5: That's worth it, man.
- 49:23S4: That's very cool. Um, the other thing I want to
- 49:25S4: mention is we were chatting about the jokers.
- 49:27S5: I'm just thinking he would possibly potentially be. Would he
- 49:34S5: be the same age as your hater.
- 49:40S4: The old.
- 49:40S5: Boy. Yeah.
- 49:41S4: Potentially. Yeah.
- 49:41S5: Potentially. Cos that could be, you know, in return for
- 49:45S5: the first ride in that.
- 49:47S4: Um I reckon that's a next year thing that might
- 49:50S4: get finished next year. Um my, for those that don't
- 49:53S4: know I've got an old Holden that's been off the
- 49:54S4: road forever. Uh 1966 HR station wagon. He actually doesn't
- 49:59S4: need too much more I need. If someone knows someone
- 50:01S4: that can do mean interiors, I'm just going to go
- 50:03S4: back to factory. Yeah. Slightly scalloped out bench seat so
- 50:07S4: it's more comfortable for the, um, you know, the, the
- 50:09S4: driver and the passenger um door cards, carpet, the usual
- 50:14S4: sort of stuff. I need, I need to line someone
- 50:16S4: up to do that.
- 50:17S5: Um Matamata motor trimmers I heard mate.
- 50:19S4: I've heard that as well actually. Yeah I actually have. Yeah.
- 50:22S4: Um was that from Lukey boy.
- 50:24S5: No.
- 50:24S4: Oh interesting.
- 50:25S5: It's my mum's cousin is it. Yeah.
- 50:27S4: Madam. Madam. Motor trimmers. Maybe. Maybe it's the same one,
- 50:30S4: I don't know.
- 50:31S5: Ironically they're at the mount.
- 50:34S4: Must have been doing all right. I bought some mount
- 50:36S4: real estate. Um, the other thing as well. I had
- 50:38S4: a mate messaged me who broke her bum, like, literally
- 50:42S4: fractured her coccyx.
- 50:43S5: Oh, okay.
- 50:44S4: Um, she's got a couple of, um, GA tickets for
- 50:49S4: Avenged Sevenfold this coming Friday, so she's just trying to, um,
- 50:53S4: she's she's got a broke ass and she's gonna be
- 50:55S4: broke ass if she doesn't get any money back for them.
- 50:57S5: Is she looking? Is she looking to sell the tickets
- 51:00S5: or is she looking for somebody that that has a
- 51:02S5: ring cushion that she could borrow?
- 51:03S4: Uh, no. She's wanting to sell the tickets.
- 51:06S5: Okay.
- 51:06S4: Two tickets. G a she's got the listed for 150
- 51:08S4: at the moment. Um, so.
- 51:10S5: For both or one each.
- 51:11S4: I'm guessing it's for both. Takes us 3520 if you're
- 51:14S4: keen on those. Um. Oh, and one other thing. We'll
- 51:17S4: chat about this early in the show. Now, back when the, um,
- 51:21S4: in 1912, when the Titanic sunk, um, they didn't send
- 51:24S4: an S.O.S. because S.O.S. hadn't been invented yet. And we
- 51:27S4: were talking about this earlier in the show. Right. Um,
- 51:30S4: it used to be C, Q, D, but S.O.S. was
- 51:33S4: much easier for an amateur to type, which is why
- 51:35S4: they changed it. CQD incidentally, stands for come quickly distress CQD.
- 51:43S31: Yeah.
- 51:44S5: I wonder what that works out to be because is it.
- 51:48S5: We were also talking about is it three long, three
- 51:51S5: short three long or three short, three long three short.
- 51:55S5: Because if one of them is oh, so also.
- 52:00S4: Get it wrong and chuck that out there. But yeah, I,
- 52:04S4: I haven't gone too deep into, um.
- 52:06S5: Morse coding.
- 52:07S4: Morse coding, but I'm assuming it's not that like 27
- 52:12S4: times for the letter Z Z as we call it
- 52:15S4: in New Zealand. Um, because S and o and you
- 52:21S4: know another s would take forever to bang out.
- 52:24S6: For noise rock drive.
- 52:26S4: Uh, another not for radio podcast out today. You can
- 52:28S4: search not for radio wherever you get your podcasts. If
- 52:30S4: you like your content fast and loose a couple of
- 52:33S4: cracking episodes. Um, in the last week or so, we have, uh, unveiled, uh,
- 52:37S4: the fact that will unveiled the two meteorites we got sent,
- 52:41S4: which is awesome. Um, we also have Richard Leslie from
- 52:45S4: No Mercy Metal Works currently, uh, confirmed. Well, he has
- 52:50S4: confirmed that he's going to be working on a mace
- 52:52S4: for Benny Boy to try on some of the, uh,
- 52:55S4: medieval armor to go, uh, into battle with.
- 52:59S5: It's going to be great to watch. There's some there's
- 53:01S5: going to be a heavy side book on that, I reckon.
- 53:03S4: Yeah. Well, it's, um, it's going to be a pay
- 53:06S4: per view event. We're working through those details at the moment.
- 53:09S4: Um and.
- 53:10S5: And other news. Yeah. Um this, you know, when you
- 53:13S5: look at what we pay for houses, there's one that
- 53:14S5: popped up for grabs. Uh.
- 53:18S4: Yes.
- 53:18S5: From the coin of Destiny. This one has, um, starred
- 53:22S5: up the owner of this wanted to have a place
- 53:24S5: to scuba dive at home, and he lived in Kansas.
- 53:27S4: Mhm.
- 53:27S5: So he did a full underground cave network, um, on
- 53:31S5: 15 acres just outside of Kansas City. 30 foot deep
- 53:35S5: pool connected to a network of water filled tunnels, a
- 53:37S5: 35 foot waterfall, grotto, indoor pool, sauna, faux fossils built
- 53:42S5: into the landscape, 18,000 square foot mansion cost about 30
- 53:47S5: million to build.
- 53:48S4: Okay, well, in my head I was going, He ain't
- 53:51S4: paying minimum wage to get that done. But maybe he was.
- 53:54S5: Uh, put it to market for 11.8 mil.
- 53:57S4: What? He what? Who bought it?
- 53:59S5: Uh.
- 54:00S4: How much for.
- 54:01S5: It? Sold for $2.5 million.
- 54:05S4: Oh, what a steal.
- 54:07S5: Oh, mate, you this joint, can.
- 54:09S4: We put a link for that into the show notes? Yeah,
- 54:11S4: I think he'll be interested in that.
- 54:12S5: And all the bang for buck you get outside of
- 54:17S5: this country.
- 54:18S4: Yeah. Unbelievable stuff. Just a little bit more food for thought. Uh,
- 54:24S4: as you head home this evening, we wrap up the
- 54:26S4: Rock drive show and hand you over to Benny Boy
- 54:28S4: and the rock night show. Uh, Japan is, um, heading
- 54:31S4: into space. They're going to be chucking a Land Rover
- 54:34S4: on Mars moon. Uh, it's going to be collecting rocks
- 54:36S4: and dust samples going to return 2031 sic. They'll open
- 54:40S4: them up and they'll go, ooh, Rocky, dusty, have a
- 54:43S4: great night, New Zealand. We'll catch you tomorrow from three
- 54:45S4: Paul Media.
