Twenty-six-year-old Deontae Daniel has been sentenced to 18 to 23 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter and burglary after fatally shooting Cordell Tatney in a September 2024 ambush at Tatney’s apartment. Daniel admitted guilt, fled the scene with a gun, and allegedly bragged about the shooting. A second suspect seen with Daniel remains at large.
