Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, so the radio from Hell x Pole.
- 0:04Speaker 2: The question is what do you hope happens when you die?
- 0:08Speaker 2: Not what you've been taught or just what do.
- 0:11Speaker 3: You hope And part of the reason we picked this
- 0:14Speaker 3: is over the weekend I watched the movie Eternity, which
- 0:18Speaker 3: is a movie with Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller and
- 0:25Speaker 3: are they dead?
- 0:26Speaker 2: So yeah, so it's what happens when you die?
- 0:29Speaker 3: And in that movie, what happens is you go to
- 0:34Speaker 3: a way station of some kind and then you have
- 0:38Speaker 3: a week to pick your eternity, and once you pick
- 0:42Speaker 3: your eternity, you're stuck there forever. But it's like it's like,
- 0:46Speaker 3: you know, you could go to beach eternity where I'm
- 0:50Speaker 3: spending eternity on the beach, okay, or I'm spending eternity.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I love museums. My eternity is I just.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Can go to any museum I want, hmmm.
- 1:01Speaker 3: And the and then movies about who you spend eternity
- 1:04Speaker 3: with and that kind of thing.
- 1:05Speaker 2: But just got me thinking, what do you hope happens?
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah? Like so that that made it clear to me
- 1:14Speaker 1: what this is and so what I would hope happened
- 1:17Speaker 1: my Eternity would be sitting at a table in the
- 1:23Speaker 1: rascular bar in State College, Pennsylvania with a couple of
- 1:27Speaker 1: rolling rock beers in front of me and as many
- 1:30Speaker 1: cigarettes as I wanted to smoke or eternity.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I mean, they do address that, like, oh, you can
- 1:37Speaker 3: just smoke here as much as you want and it's okay.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's just as many cigarettes as I could smoke.
- 1:42Speaker 1: And oh, and you bet your life with Groucho Marx
- 1:47Speaker 1: in black and white on the TV in the bar
- 1:49Speaker 1: going for Eternity.
- 1:51Speaker 3: M there's also a part of the movie is how
- 1:55Speaker 3: you look in eternity? Oh, is this your happiest self? Like,
- 2:01Speaker 3: at what point in your life you were the happiest?
- 2:04Speaker 1: That would be about that point in my life. I
- 2:06Speaker 1: was in graduate school and I was young, slim and beautiful.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That's what I would like to be.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Here's some people calling and texting. I would like to
- 2:16Speaker 4: see my grandma and childhood dog again and meet my
- 2:19Speaker 4: husband's dad.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Who passed away before we met.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Okay, I hope that when I die, an asteroid hits
- 2:26Speaker 4: the Earth with the perfect precision to launch my casket
- 2:30Speaker 4: into outer space.
- 2:32Speaker 2: That is very specific.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Unlimited hookers and coke with no regrets or repercussions. Let's see,
- 2:42Speaker 4: it probably just cuts to black, like the crappy sopranos
- 2:45Speaker 4: ending what you want I hope it is, don't tell
- 2:49Speaker 4: me what you think it what you hope it is.
- 2:54Speaker 4: I hope to see a slideshow of all the people
- 2:56Speaker 4: that actually lied to me.
- 2:59Speaker 5: And also just to be with my mama and baby
- 3:01Speaker 5: boy again.
- 3:02Speaker 4: All right, an island full of everyone's pets that they lost.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that is one of the things you want.
- 3:11Speaker 3: You want to be reunited with all of your dogs.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Yeah, well all the smokers, all the smokers are coming
- 3:17Speaker 4: out of the woodwork bill.
- 3:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm sure they they all want us the smoke
- 3:24Speaker 6: eight seven seven six oh two nine six nine six
- 3:26Speaker 6: is the ex pole What do you hope happens to
- 3:30Speaker 6: you when you die?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:31Speaker 3: In that movie too, so so people say, oh, I
- 3:34Speaker 3: want to meet up with my parents or whatever, and
- 3:37Speaker 3: so they have that discussion like, well, I want to
- 3:39Speaker 3: see my parents, and they're like, well, if you want
- 3:41Speaker 3: to see your parents, they got here before you and
- 3:43Speaker 3: they already picked their eternity. You have to pick their
- 3:45Speaker 3: same eternity. Like oh, then I'm stuck in my parents
- 3:49Speaker 3: idea of what heaven is.
- 3:51Speaker 2: No, I don't want to. I guess I'll not see
- 3:52Speaker 2: my parents anymore.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Oh okay, uh.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Ed Brest says, when I die, I hope to come
- 3:58Speaker 4: back as one of Amy Donaldson's rescue dogs.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I'll be taking ed.
- 4:04Speaker 1: When you come back. Don't you want to you come
- 4:07Speaker 1: back and say I got court.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Let's see sitting around a table playing Role Master with
- 4:14Speaker 4: my friends and family.
- 4:16Speaker 5: I don't know what that is, but it sounds like
- 4:18Speaker 5: you enjoyed it.
- 4:19Speaker 4: So a second on that motion for unlimited hookers and blow.
- 4:25Speaker 1: All right, let's see line one is there?
- 4:28Speaker 5: Well, we do have a line one?
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah, ok, I was waiting for him.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Then eight seven six, two.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Nine six names Crystal is here? Hi Crystal, So what
- 4:36Speaker 1: do you hope happens when you die?
- 4:39Speaker 7: Hey, guys, you know, I've always kind of just hoped
- 4:42Speaker 7: that this whole thing is like a big dream and
- 4:45Speaker 7: a bad dream, that we're in some sort of doomsday simulator. So, uh,
- 4:50Speaker 7: I kind of hope that when I die, I wake
- 4:51Speaker 7: up on the other end of a computer realizing that
- 4:54Speaker 7: this whole thing was just a nightmare. Oh my language.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, thank you Crystal.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Go buye crystal and don't call again until you wash
- 5:03Speaker 4: your mouth.
- 5:03Speaker 5: That was soap. Let's see. Uh.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Woodworker Willie says, when I die, I go to the
- 5:08Speaker 3: great wood shop in the sky that's clean, dust free
- 5:11Speaker 3: and has all new high end tools and machines.
- 5:16Speaker 4: When I die, go back to my early thirties. I
- 5:18Speaker 4: want to come back as an animal. I prefer a
- 5:21Speaker 4: housecat or dog of someone famous. I can't wait to
- 5:24Speaker 4: see my animals. And supposedly I have a twin sister,
- 5:27Speaker 4: I want to see them.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, you want to be a pet of someone
- 5:32Speaker 3: famous because you know you'll be spoiled.
- 5:34Speaker 5: You'll be pampered.
- 5:38Speaker 4: I hope my sillyac goes away and I'll be placed
- 5:40Speaker 4: in a room full of endless bread and pasta.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Well, no, I'm all for the endless pasta, that's for sure.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Let's see.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Frank Christ should weigh in, since he's doing it already.
- 5:55Speaker 5: No, he doesn't have any opinion. He wants moved.
- 5:59Speaker 2: He takes to the way station is worse.
- 6:01Speaker 5: That's all he knows.
- 6:02Speaker 1: The line one is there, Jim is here, Hey Jim.
- 6:07Speaker 8: Good morning, Lords of morning radio or morning let me listen.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you're welcome. What do you hope happens when you die?
- 6:15Speaker 8: Well, there's this great movie that came out in nineteen
- 6:18Speaker 8: ninety one by Albert Brooks as the director, and he
- 6:23Speaker 8: also started.
- 6:23Speaker 2: It with Mell Street Defending Life.
- 6:27Speaker 8: Yeah, and they end up going to a place called
- 6:30Speaker 8: Judgment City and they have an Attorneyum they review their
- 6:33Speaker 8: life and see if they've overcome their fears, and if
- 6:36Speaker 8: they have, they move on. So anyway, it's it's kind
- 6:40Speaker 8: of a fun movie and kind of a neat idea
- 6:44Speaker 8: of what possibly could happen.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a great movie.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Rip Torn is in it.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Yeah, thanks for the movie recommendation. Now the question is
- 6:51Speaker 4: what do you hope happens when you die?
- 6:53Speaker 2: Is that what you hope? You hope it's like that movie?
- 6:57Speaker 8: Well, well, I would hope you go on in some
- 7:00Speaker 8: form Okay, I guess and have a moedge of your
- 7:05Speaker 8: past life. I think that would be interesting.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, okay, there you later.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Let's go to Braiden. Hi Braiden.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, what what do you think Braiden?
- 7:15Speaker 9: I think that it's a giant diner where everyone sits
- 7:19Speaker 9: down and you get your favorite food and your favorite
- 7:21Speaker 9: drink and you can interact with anyone around you, and
- 7:25Speaker 9: it's just kind of a big sit down diner that
- 7:28Speaker 9: goes on forever. And the waitresses or angels.
- 7:30Speaker 5: And you know, can you smoke?
- 7:34Speaker 9: Yeah, smoking or non smoking. There's sections, you know.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Okay, there's a smoking section and on.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Okay there I like that one.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I have another piece of pie. Please.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Lots of people want to smoke with Bill.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Yeah. All the smokers are saying, oh, that's an option. Okay,
- 7:52Speaker 5: we'll take it. Riches here high Rich.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Hey, Rich, good morning. So what do you think?
- 8:01Speaker 4: I think it would be awesome if I could be
- 8:03Speaker 4: like a ghost that could go anytime, anyplace, anywhere, so
- 8:07Speaker 4: you could see every concert, doesn't matter.
- 8:09Speaker 1: When it was.
- 8:10Speaker 8: You could see any famous person, any famous historical event.
- 8:14Speaker 1: You know, it'd be just cool.
- 8:16Speaker 5: You're a time traveling ghosts?
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah you don't want to hunt?
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay, wouldn't you like the option of haunting people?
- 8:23Speaker 1: If you're good though, while you're at a concert, just
- 8:26Speaker 1: just go boom and.
- 8:29Speaker 9: That would be a total bonus.
- 8:30Speaker 1: That'd be fun. Yeah, okay, all right, Rachel, thank you, Rich. Thanks.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Have we ever had the concept of a time traveling ghost?
- 8:38Speaker 2: We should?
- 8:39Speaker 5: I might do that maybe something new. Tim the tree
- 8:43Speaker 5: guy is here. Go ahead, Tim, good morning.
- 8:46Speaker 1: How are we while fying? Alrighty?
- 8:50Speaker 8: Well, so I would just I would love to be
- 8:52Speaker 8: able to ride whatever motocross track I want, healthy and
- 8:58Speaker 8: then just playpool.
- 8:59Speaker 1: All night when I'm.
- 9:01Speaker 8: Cross.
- 9:01Speaker 1: There you go and smoke, smoke, no smoke, but drinking.
- 9:07Speaker 6: Okay, Bill, do that all right?
- 9:11Speaker 5: Thank you, thank you.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Let's see totally tony, totally blind, fop.
- 9:17Speaker 1: More.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Hope for when I die is to drink great coffee
- 9:21Speaker 4: at Mill Creek, have a good beer and food at
- 9:24Speaker 4: Squatters or Roosters while listening to the radio.
- 9:26Speaker 2: For Wow, I like this one.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I always imagine all the answers to life's mysteries would
- 9:33Speaker 3: be uncovered when I die.
- 9:35Speaker 2: What's the deal with Stonehenge? Who killed John Bennet?
- 9:38Speaker 5: All of those.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Things I want to know?
- 9:40Speaker 4: Okay, Ella the nanny says, I have some unfinished business
- 9:45Speaker 4: with some awful people I'd like to haunt before I
- 9:47Speaker 4: reach my final resting place.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Uh you you.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Said rolling rock Chase that with a zema and a
- 9:54Speaker 4: camel light.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Your choice is zema.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Let's see. Uh.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Let's say I'm adopted, So I hope to find out
- 10:06Speaker 4: some of my genealogy.
- 10:07Speaker 5: You know you can do that alive.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Yeah I did.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Let's see.
- 10:13Speaker 4: I want to come back as a fly, so I
- 10:15Speaker 4: could be a fly on the wall to everything in life.
- 10:18Speaker 3: You know, how about why wouldn't you just want to
- 10:20Speaker 3: be like invisible?
- 10:22Speaker 2: Why would you want?
- 10:23Speaker 1: You want to be a fly, because because you can.
- 10:25Speaker 1: If you're a fly, you can also be on a
- 10:27Speaker 1: pile of dung.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Yeah that's true. Let's see.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Uh, somebody says, I hope I can relive all the
- 10:35Speaker 3: best moments of this life.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Oh, I just want my back not to hurt.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you can.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Ask for more than that.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Well, it gets if it gets to be you know,
- 10:45Speaker 1: sometimes it gets to be so serious. That's all you want.
- 10:49Speaker 5: Let's see my heaven.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I don't need a mansion, just a little duplex where
- 10:52Speaker 4: I can garden and also go to the beach and
- 10:54Speaker 4: Disneyland whenever I want. Well, why don't you live in
- 10:58Speaker 4: the haunted mansion at the at disney Land.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You know, I think I'd like a dlux apartment in
- 11:03Speaker 1: the Stuy.
- 11:04Speaker 5: It would be one thousand happy haunts.
- 11:07Speaker 2: This is interesting.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I was dead for seventeen years, being locked up in prison,
- 11:13Speaker 3: and now I'm living my best life.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Never take it for granted, and.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Always remember you're the one who can make your life better.
- 11:20Speaker 2: That's a nice way to look at.
- 11:23Speaker 5: Let's see. Uh hm.
- 11:27Speaker 4: I just hope to get to nap whenever I want
- 11:29Speaker 4: and actually get good, peaceful sleep, wake up refreshing.
- 11:32Speaker 5: With no pain.
- 11:33Speaker 4: I just want to be able to haunt whoever the
- 11:35Speaker 4: hell I want.
- 11:36Speaker 5: Oh and there's chocolate.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Oh and chocolate.
- 11:40Speaker 5: Well, you'll get a good nap, trust me.
- 11:45Speaker 1: It's not called a dirt nap for nothing exactly.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Let's see complete ego dissolution. I want nothing of the
- 11:55Speaker 4: human restrictions. These bodies have many stupid and questionable components. Wow,
- 12:01Speaker 4: thank you, doctor Manhattan. All right, Raley is here.
- 12:05Speaker 7: Hi, Rayley, Hi, I want to be reincarnated as a kay.
- 12:11Speaker 8: Oh.
- 12:12Speaker 5: Yes, they're adorable, aren't they.
- 12:14Speaker 1: We were just talking about Kathy Barrows the other day.
- 12:18Speaker 5: They're very hot right now?
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yep. Do people have them as pets?
- 12:23Speaker 3: They shouldn't.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I understand that they're quite They're just pretty docile.
- 12:29Speaker 2: And yeah, yeah, I like your answer.
- 12:34Speaker 1: That's a good idea.
- 12:36Speaker 4: But whenever I'm feeling stressed, there's a Twitter account I
- 12:39Speaker 4: follow that's all capabas and they just go there and
- 12:42Speaker 4: look at look at pictures of thank you.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Great day.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Somebody says, I hope all the things at your studio
- 12:51Speaker 3: work well. In my heaven, everything in the ring studio works.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Let's see, uh, I hope that all that idiot, violent
- 13:03Speaker 4: prejudice people actually go somewhere else so that I go
- 13:06Speaker 4: where there's peace and tranquility.
- 13:07Speaker 5: Well, you get to pick so.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Well, and that's part of in that movie.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Like you can pick like Naziland, Like if that's where
- 13:13Speaker 3: you're most comfortable, you can go.
- 13:15Speaker 5: You can go to Nazi Land.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I hope to hang out with all the playboy bunnies
- 13:20Speaker 4: and smoke all day.
- 13:21Speaker 1: The playboy bunnies, let's see, Well they are like the
- 13:27Speaker 1: girl next door.
- 13:28Speaker 5: I guess so.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Crystal hopes to live in a world where you can
- 13:31Speaker 4: say the F word on the radio.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Thanks, And that was Crystal who did that.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Yes, let's see uh live war, free, star Trek, travel
- 13:43Speaker 4: the universe, do whatever, eat whatever, all awesome.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Somebody says, I would want my eternity to be at
- 13:50Speaker 3: never any music festival with all the amazing artists who
- 13:53Speaker 3: has passed on already and all of my favorite people
- 13:56Speaker 3: enjoying it.
- 13:57Speaker 4: With h I hope it's like Beetled. You said, I
- 14:00Speaker 4: get to scare the people who live in my old house. Well,
- 14:06Speaker 4: if this is what you hope to do, what.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Have you gone against the people in your old house?
- 14:11Speaker 5: Oh, they know what they did.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Let's see, doing any one thing forever is going to
- 14:18Speaker 3: be tedious.
- 14:19Speaker 2: So free will.
- 14:20Speaker 3: That's kind of the point of that movie too, Like
- 14:22Speaker 3: you have to pick one, Like even if you love
- 14:25Speaker 3: the beach, if you pick Beach Eternity, you know you're like, Oh.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I'm sick of this beach. I want to do something else.
- 14:32Speaker 4: I hope it's a cozy cabin with a warm fire
- 14:34Speaker 4: all the time, filled with all the pets that you
- 14:37Speaker 4: have ever had that passed away. Oh, I would ask
- 14:42Speaker 4: God why in hell or trachea is near our esophagus.
- 14:46Speaker 4: It's a poor design. There's another design flow quest complaint here.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Can you play the x bowle boy? Can you end
- 14:55Speaker 4: the ex pole by playing heaven by Talking Heads?
- 14:57Speaker 2: That's that would be nice.
- 14:58Speaker 4: That's that's what that song is about. Oh, I hope
- 15:04Speaker 4: absolutely nothing happens. I've had enough.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I just want to rest, you will.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Yeah, if it's eternity. You'll have time to rest and
- 15:14Speaker 2: do other things like go to every music festival.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Let's see, uh, Gummy here, I hope there's a big arena.
- 15:25Speaker 4: We're all we're all the magas. Have to explain.
- 15:31Speaker 5: To Jesus.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Okay, it's jumping all over the place.
- 15:35Speaker 5: I'm sorry, Gummy.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Let's go to Dave on Wine.
- 15:37Speaker 5: Let's finish up with Dave.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Hi, Dave, Dave, where are you calling from.
- 15:43Speaker 8: I'm calling from Loveland, Colorado.
- 15:45Speaker 1: How's it going good? Okay? What what do you hope happens?
- 15:50Speaker 5: I hope that absolutely nothing happens.
- 15:53Speaker 9: I just want my consciousness.
- 15:55Speaker 8: To erase, my energy, to go out to the universe
- 15:58Speaker 8: and it done.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you know I understand that, and I think
- 16:04Speaker 1: that's sort of I mean, it's been my philosophy that
- 16:07Speaker 1: that is sort of what happens. You just you you
- 16:11Speaker 1: just your consciousness just goes out into the universe and
- 16:14Speaker 1: you're you're no longer, you have no entity anymore, you
- 16:19Speaker 1: have no sense of self.
- 16:21Speaker 2: It's just I hope there's more than that.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I why, I just I just, you know, I don't
- 16:28Speaker 1: just just let it go. Let it go, man. I've
- 16:32Speaker 1: had a good. I've i've had a pretty good time here,
- 16:34Speaker 1: so just let it go. He just wants to smoke. Yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 1: with a cigarette in my hands. Thanks, thank you, Dave.
- 16:43Speaker 5: All Right,
