- 0:00Hello everyone and welcome to the random Heathen ramblings
- 0:03podcast, where we discuss all sorts of things Germanic,
- 0:06Heathen re related. My name is Jessie.
- 0:09I am your host. Let's get into it.
- 0:32Hello, hello, hello. Hello there.
- 0:37Welcome back, everybody. Welcome back to the random human
- 0:39ramblings podcast. Thanks for coming back, after a
- 0:43brief, unplanned, and quite frankly, less than desirable
- 0:51reason, for my absence. For those of you that don't
- 0:58follow me on my socials, the reason why there wasn't an
- 1:01episode last week was because I had to travel to New York where
- 1:06I'm from due to my father's death and my wife, and I took
- 1:11off the day that it happened. But so if you aren't familiar,
- 1:18I'll just kind of, you know, if you're not following me on my
- 1:21socials and you don't know, he, he passed away on Sunday April
- 1:2716th. he was battling a very aggressive form of skin cancer
- 1:39for over a decade and it finally, as was expected it
- 1:46would Was the thing that that, that took his his physical life
- 1:53and I'm not going to go into much more details, other than
- 1:56that, but that's, you know, why I wasn't able to release an
- 2:01episode last week, my wife and I traveled from Tennessee to New
- 2:04York to be near family and to address any things that may need
- 2:11to be done from the family side of things.
- 2:13You know what I mean? but, it's been, it's been a it's
- 2:20been a wild week and a half to say the least, you know, when
- 2:29When I got the word that really, I kind of knew and you know
- 2:33about a week or so in advance of things to some degree of his
- 2:39rapid decline. You know, this was and it's and
- 2:42it's a touchy subject. And again, I don't want to take
- 2:44up the podcast talking about this, but this is something like
- 2:47I said he'd been battling for dealing with for for over a
- 2:50decade. And it was kind of one of those
- 2:53things where, you know, it was hard to determine when some days
- 2:57were really really bad someday. As we're not so bad.
- 3:00So it was really hard to determine when he would pass.
- 3:03And so being this far away from Tennessee to New York, you know,
- 3:09among some other things that I won't go into.
- 3:12It was difficult for me too. Figure out when I should be
- 3:17there. But soon as I was able to, you
- 3:19know, really understand the State of Affairs, you know, I
- 3:24made made made a trip up there to try and see him before he
- 3:30died. Knowing, when I got notice of
- 3:32things being pretty bad, it was a, it was the day that he
- 3:35passed, and I didn't make it to him in time before he did die
- 3:41and but when I got to New York with my wife, I learned a lot.
- 3:51I learned a lot while I was there, and I wanted to talk
- 3:55about sort of a subject or a topic that I think fits stuff
- 4:02like this and other things like this, you know?
- 4:06So once again, thanks again for being here and tuning in, and
- 4:11continuing to support, I know, while I was away the presents
- 4:16that I had on, so, Social media was next to nothing
- 4:18understandably. So right I know everybody that
- 4:21supports and follows what I do understood that I wouldn't be
- 4:25making any content while I was up dealing with those things.
- 4:34But you know, so today today at the time of this recording, I
- 4:39have just returned back to Tennessee. so we've been up
- 4:46there for, you know, a week in a couple of days to just be nearby
- 4:53and and intend to some things that I Wanted to tend to
- 4:59personally the kind of work through the process of what had
- 5:03happened and some of which, you know, involved me being out in
- 5:09nature near a really, really pretty Wildlife Park Reserve
- 5:17nearby, it's called winding Hills sin.
- 5:21Guys, it's considered Montgomery New York in there, you know, got
- 5:24to drum by the water there and just tend to do things that I
- 5:28have that for me, tend to be very healing and very, you know,
- 5:33focus on the spiritual healing. That's required for things like
- 5:38this. You know, family member passing
- 5:43But what really kind of struck me about the whole visit and
- 5:48about the whole trip there. And Back Again, was a topic
- 5:53that, you know, I've talked about on this podcast and on the
- 5:58YouTube channel and across my other social media platforms
- 6:01before where, where the the concept of In and guard and
- 6:07mutant guard, the inner yard, the inner and closure, and the
- 6:16outer enclosure, and what these concepts for heathens.
- 6:19You know, mean and while the the words themselves may not
- 6:26necessarily be part of the Vocabulary or words that we see
- 6:32in you know, Old Norse texts or things that might be found in,
- 6:39let's say other sagas or The Lure or anything like that.
- 6:43The concept of what is within versus what is without, you
- 6:50know, that concept is evident in many of the stories, many of the
- 6:59sagas and when we see, and we know, and we know that at least
- 7:04in the Germanic tribes that predate Christianity, becoming
- 7:10prevalent in the region or regions, The concept of the
- 7:16inner yard in the outer yard or the Inner Circle, Outer Circle,
- 7:18inner outer, right? These these are very prevalent
- 7:21Concepts that that existed across these regions.
- 7:27And because of that you know it had has transferred into how
- 7:34modern heathens View and perceive the world or at least
- 7:39in many cases, our worldviews Become. a part of this, this
- 7:45concept, you know, we we perceive the world is what is
- 7:48within, is what we protect and what is without is, is outside
- 7:52of the purview of the tribe of the Kindred of the group, you
- 7:57know, and also that, which is within what we count as art in
- 8:01and guard our inner yard, our Inner Circle is sacred and we
- 8:06protect that and we safeguard that even to the point of
- 8:12gatekeeping You know, this is a touchy.
- 8:16This is this is a topic that gets some people's feathers
- 8:20ruffled when I say things like gate.
- 8:21Keeping it. A lot of people just
- 8:23automatically lean towards gatekeeping under the context of
- 8:29preventing people who are not of northern European descent or who
- 8:35are not dramatic, or who don't have any sort of ancestral ties
- 8:38to this part of the world, you know, keeping them away from
- 8:41these practices from These beliefs.
- 8:45And that's not what I'm referring to when I say
- 8:47gatekeeping, what I'm referring to is preserving and protecting
- 8:54the inner yard, the things that happen within the sanctity
- 9:00within the sovereignity of that enclosure protecting that from
- 9:06the wild from that, which is without that, that which is
- 9:09with, you know, outside of our purview.
- 9:13Of of dealings, you know? So gatekeeping to the sense or
- 9:17in the in the context of preventing that which is without
- 9:21that is not part of that inner construct to to breach those
- 9:28Gates, you know. And I've lived that very vividly
- 9:35I've lived that concept very vividly within the last week and
- 9:39a half and it caused me to kind of ponder and This concept with
- 9:45regards to how it's applied. Within modern even re.
- 9:52And as I've mentioned on this podcast and across my channel
- 9:54multiple times, you know, this this this content that I release
- 9:57is is, is kind of my, you know, take on things.
- 10:01This is this is largely just the ideas that come through my head
- 10:04that I want to share with people and maybe plant some seeds food
- 10:09for thought, you know, fat to chew on as it were.
- 10:13Give you some give you some things too.
- 10:16Discuss amongst yourselves perhaps if you have a group or a
- 10:21collective that you are a part of and see if it fits, right?
- 10:25I'm not trying to be the one that tells you that this is how
- 10:29you have to Heathen. This is how you should be in
- 10:31order to be a good Heathen or a prosperous even or anything like
- 10:36that. This is just a my view, one
- 10:38person, one Heathen. When Chieftains view who serves
- 10:42his tribe in this capacity and is willing to share certain In
- 10:46things that don't. Leak anything into what is
- 10:51sacred for us within. So we all from, I think, for a
- 10:55lot of the listeners, a lot of viewers, you know, this concept,
- 10:58like I said of in and garden guard.
- 11:00Inner outer is not foreign. We understand.
- 11:03We know what those things are. I'll put some links down in the
- 11:07description and show notes of the podcast for you listeners to
- 11:10if you want to go back and refer to.
- 11:13But if this is probably something that especially for
- 11:15some of the Season heathens for those that have been Doing this
- 11:19a little while, and maybe even those that are somewhat new,
- 11:22have we have definitely heard, but for the veterans, you know,
- 11:25for the, for the folks have been doing this for a while, but I'm
- 11:29talking about is is not foreign and you get it, but I go back to
- 11:34so much of what I go back to when it comes to practicing,
- 11:37Heathen re old ways. Heathen re, I mean, and modern
- 11:40times is the, what is our purpose behind?
- 11:43What we do? When I say we, you could you can
- 11:47use the The that as, as a term to describe the larger Heathen
- 11:54communities, all right, across the world across the state, our
- 11:57country here in the United States.
- 11:58But maybe even across the world. But why do we do what we do?
- 12:02What is the purpose behind? What we do?
- 12:05We should be Purpose Driven. I believe that that that the, we
- 12:10benefit better from understanding the why?
- 12:13If we're just going through the motions.
- 12:15Because, you know, so and so set it in a in a piece of source
- 12:19material that that dates back in over a thousand years ago.
- 12:23And we don't really have any practical or or, you know, hands
- 12:29on boots on the ground sort of examples of it working in modern
- 12:32times now, and if all we're doing is just trying to relive
- 12:36something from a from the past that worked back then, but
- 12:39doesn't work now for certain reasons whether it be social
- 12:43Constructs are different Customs are different Traditions, you
- 12:47know the way that the world was at a time, you know it worked
- 12:52back then but it doesn't work now.
- 12:53And again the reasons why why do we do what we do the purpose
- 12:56behind what we do, I think that in a garden guard, get get
- 13:01brought into the mix of things to do just because well, that's
- 13:04how the ancient Germanic people viewed the world and they had a
- 13:08very clear defining, you know, the barriers between the inner
- 13:13and the outer were unequivocally set, you know, people knew what
- 13:19was good that which was good was what was within and that which
- 13:26was not good that which was you can maybe use the word evil but
- 13:30that, which was against the benefit of the inner guard of
- 13:35the tribe was without You know. So again that we have examples,
- 13:42I think a lot of times with people that that go back to the
- 13:47Archaic, maybe, or ancient views of the world and applied in a
- 13:50modern setting without understanding the purpose of the
- 13:54reasons. Why, so, why do we have these
- 13:56things? Why is in a garden guard?
- 13:58Such a big thing. Amongst heathens especially, why
- 14:01is the Inner Circle? The outer inner yard, outer
- 14:04yard. Why is that such a big deal?
- 14:08What is within and I want to just touch upon it briefly.
- 14:11I think I've talked about this on other podcast before, but
- 14:14what is within what is, what is part of the inner is lawful
- 14:20there is order, okay? There is there, there are
- 14:24Customs, there are Traditions, there are things that happen
- 14:27within that have been set for the betterment for the good k
- 14:34for the growth of those who function within So that's why
- 14:43there are laws. That's why there are customs and
- 14:45traditions across different tribes.
- 14:47That don't exactly aligned with the same thing that that a
- 14:51neighboring tribe or a or or another region did things.
- 14:56That's why we see variances and nuances, similar things right
- 15:02similar names. Close enough.
- 15:04Things of proximity that we can understand.
- 15:07Like yeah, there was there was a commonality But the happenings
- 15:13of the inner wear developed for the good of that particular
- 15:19group for that particular, tribe, Village, Clan, whatever
- 15:23that social construct at that time.
- 15:28It wasn't to exclude others from them.
- 15:34It was to establish and set lawfulness in order.
- 15:38And the, the people at the time, understood and knew that in
- 15:42order for a society to function, well, there needed to be those
- 15:45things because what happens without, what is gluten guard,
- 15:48what is outside of that inner, sanctum of that inner circle of
- 15:52that inner yard is lawlessness. It is Wild.
- 15:58It is uncontrollable and the laws that are applicable within
- 16:05do not apply to that, which is without and so, it is
- 16:09borderless. It is Lawless, it is chaos, the
- 16:15things that apply to the outside.
- 16:19Or that work for the outside. Don't have the same sense of
- 16:24semblance of order. That that hat is happening
- 16:26within and I think we don't, you know, we could probably all
- 16:29agree that this type of the barriers being set between inner
- 16:33and outer. You know, it didn't happen until
- 16:38humankind, mankind societies, started to, to be established
- 16:42where there were Villages tribes separate from each other and
- 16:47this person wanted To have the rules to be this, that way, you
- 16:51know, x y z, you know, this is how we do it.
- 16:54And then the other group was like, why don't?
- 16:56We don't really, we don't really like doing it that way.
- 16:58We're going to do it, you know, the way that ABC is done, so the
- 17:02variance is the nuances. The changes became a Thing.
- 17:07Once, mankind Humanity started to try and take control of
- 17:14situations and become more orderly and when Awful the law
- 17:20of the Jungle, right? The law of the wild is, you
- 17:22know? You got to fight, you gotta
- 17:26scrounge, You Gotta Be, You Know, tenacious, you have to
- 17:31have all of these things that the law, the law of the Jungle,
- 17:33though, the wild doesn't care. If you are not feeling good that
- 17:39day, you know, doesn't care if you broke your foot.
- 17:43It's not going to wait the storms, not going to wait you
- 17:46out in order to heal your broken foot.
- 17:49You know what I mean? It's going to rain, it's going
- 17:50to snow, it's going to storm is going to do, what it's going to
- 17:52do because that's just That's the Law of the Jungle and so Oh,
- 17:54that's the way the wild operates.
- 17:56The animals are going to come to you to hunt you if you're the
- 18:01week. Part of that equation.
- 18:05And in there's nothing there's no law that says, otherwise or
- 18:09makes it different. So the concepts of inner and
- 18:13outer, is that we control? What is within we Safeguard,
- 18:16what is within, we establish order Customs traditions and
- 18:20things that occur within for the betterment of our people, for
- 18:24the betterment of our try for the betterment of us as a
- 18:27collective, right? Whatever that Collective is.
- 18:31We do that or it's done to whatever means necessary if if
- 18:40something from out from without threatens.
- 18:45The, the sanctity, the sovereignity, the what we've
- 18:48established as within. If something without threatens
- 18:50that then we address it. We put up the wall, we put up
- 18:57our Shields, we fight if necessary, we defend, you know,
- 19:02what is sacred and what is within to keep that thing from
- 19:07without that is potentially trying to infiltrate to leak in
- 19:13We're preventing that from happening to stop.
- 19:18You know what we've established as order as law as what is good
- 19:22for us? From being damaged from being
- 19:26torn apart. That's the why that's the
- 19:30purpose therein lies. The reason of inner and outer,
- 19:36at least from an ancient context, I believe, you know, as
- 19:39I so much as I've been able to learn from my own experiences
- 19:43and from from studies in such, right?
- 19:47This is the reason why again, it wasn't to stop the The person of
- 19:53a different color skin or they were taller or they look
- 19:56different or they, you know, they didn't have a pointy hat or
- 20:00whatever other such silly thing. Modern, you know, people that
- 20:05that want to leverage Concepts like this, to further, their
- 20:13bigoted. Agendas write something like
- 20:14that. It was simply because a, at the
- 20:17time, this is, this is our law. This is our customs, and if you
- 20:20come in, and if you Approach. You either aligned with our
- 20:23customs you aligned with what we are doing.
- 20:26Or you are without and it's as simple as that, there is no
- 20:28negotiation. There is no.
- 20:31Let's talk this through, it's very cut and dry.
- 20:35It is in or out. You are with us or you are
- 20:38against us in. There is no middle area, there's
- 20:42no gray area. and I lived a very Vivid experience of that this
- 20:54week and it made me and it made me think, you know, Does that
- 21:02type of approach? Is the approach of what I just
- 21:05described where you keep the walls of your in and guard
- 21:11guarded protected with a ferocity with a Vengeance that
- 21:16some wood venture to say, is Exclusionary exclusion are like
- 21:25you or your exclusive you, you have no wiggle room there,
- 21:29there's no compromise. Does that fit does that apply
- 21:35well for us as heathens when we are talking about groups of
- 21:39people? And and this kind of I think
- 21:42leaks into conversations that people have had of, you know,
- 21:48the benefit of even re looking at even re from a tribalism
- 21:52approach, a tribalist approach to versus Lykes.
- 21:55A Universalist approaches not going to talk about Focus
- 21:59approach is because Focus to me is is is always a is based on
- 22:05racial views and looking things from a racial point of view.
- 22:10You know, your exclusive, you are your safeguarding, you are
- 22:13gatekeeping. You are doing all these things.
- 22:15For the reasons of racial preservation of keeping your
- 22:20races pure and all this other kind of nonsense that I don't
- 22:23buy into and it's not just European stuff.
- 22:26I mean this is this this this would be saying I would say the
- 22:29same for any other sort of racial Focus ways.
- 22:34This is my opinion is against what I believe that, that serves
- 22:40no benefit, no good, but if it becomes a thing of, you know,
- 22:44are are the person's views, are the person or the people, the
- 22:48group, The Other opposing group the opposite group, right are
- 22:51their views so far, separated so far distant.
- 22:58And different from your own views, the tribes views the, the
- 23:02group's music, you the Kendra's views, are they so far apart
- 23:06that, including them, inviting them to your inner circle
- 23:11infringes upon the sanctity and sovereignty of what is part of
- 23:15your inner guard? and, I think, again, I think
- 23:21it's a fine line that, that we walk, as people When approaching
- 23:27things in this way, you know, because some would argue that
- 23:31well, and I maybe argue isn't the right word, but some would
- 23:36debate, right? That the concept of this
- 23:42separation of groups of people, you know, that it's, it doesn't
- 23:47do well for the furtherance of a species of humanity.
- 23:52You have to be a bit more accepting especially now.
- 23:54In the tased age, today's age here in the 21st century where
- 23:59You know, there's so much going on with people in their own
- 24:03individual lives where, you know, they're their beliefs,
- 24:08their their worldviews are way more non-traditional than they
- 24:15ever used to be to the to the, to the point where, you know, Up
- 24:19Is Down, left is right. And so many other variables, you
- 24:25know where people. Are happier and feel more
- 24:30fulfilled when they pursue a life that is non-traditional.
- 24:35They either. Identify as an opposite gender
- 24:43or they have no gender the, which they identify with, they
- 24:46are happier, they feel more fulfilled.
- 24:48When embracing a non-traditional lifestyle such as that, right?
- 24:52And that's just, you know, very common, very popular example
- 24:55that I'm leaning towards and, you know, when people want to be
- 25:01selective or in in exclude People, based off of that,
- 25:04that's where I have a problem. You know, you can be protective
- 25:08Of your in and guard all you want.
- 25:10And if, and if you're protective of your inner guard to again
- 25:13Safeguard and preserve the Traditions, the laws, the
- 25:15Customs, the things that have been built for the betterment
- 25:19and the growth and the good of the people, apart of your in and
- 25:23guard, or part of that in guard, part of that inner circle, then
- 25:26it doesn't matter who that other person is doesn't matter if
- 25:29they're white black purple, queer genderless they, they
- 25:35trimmed or gender fluid. And trans any of these other
- 25:40sorts of things. That's, none of that matters.
- 25:43It's, you know, it's it goes back to the core values of what
- 25:47that in guards Society is built around.
- 25:49What the what the world views of those people are.
- 25:52And if for some reason, those those those views want to keep
- 25:57those types of people out in the exclusionary of that.
- 26:00Then that's, you know, that's their thing.
- 26:03But who are we to, who are we to challenge that?
- 26:06You know, if a society He has been built or I say a society
- 26:10like it's a big thing, but if a group of people have been built
- 26:12and they've been successful, they Thrive and they've
- 26:14prospered in their way by being a certain way that's their
- 26:19through. That's their custom.
- 26:20That's their law, that's their business.
- 26:23It is their haul, it is their call.
- 26:26Shout out. Eric shervin from the Ravens
- 26:28call always will give credit where credit is due when it
- 26:31comes to that, not my haul, not my call.
- 26:36And I've talked about this to on the podcast.
- 26:38I've been a big advocate for that.
- 26:39It sounds poetic. It sounds great.
- 26:41It is, it is easy to. Remember, you can hashtag it.
- 26:44You can make it a thing, you can Trend it out if you want.
- 26:47Hashtag, not my call, not my haul, not my call.
- 26:51And I've done that before, and I've thought of it.
- 26:53And I I violated my own thought process this week by trying to
- 27:03infiltrate someone else's Hall someone else's in and guard.
- 27:10My intent was with, you know, nothing but the best intentions,
- 27:14you know, I had nothing but the most good interest in my mind,
- 27:21right? But it was not in line with
- 27:23their version of good or their views on things.
- 27:29And so my attempt to make a call, you know, from for someone
- 27:38else's whole I learned quickly that I was wrong for that and
- 27:44morals. Aside morals view worldviews you
- 27:47know ethics aside. If it's not your hall and it's
- 27:52not your call. Now.
- 27:58Because we live in the 21st century because everybody has a
- 28:02YouTube channel or everybody can make a podcast or everybody can
- 28:06post on Twitter or Facebook or Instagram, and voice their
- 28:09opinions. We've kind of lost touch with.
- 28:18That sort of thing, you know, everybody's business is aired
- 28:22out in some sort of way. My business is aired out, and
- 28:26again, one of the big lessons that I learned from going to New
- 28:31York this past week was that? Stop it.
- 28:37Stop trying to be involved with things that you have no
- 28:40business. Being involved in, no matter
- 28:44what your intentions might be, no matter the reasons why you
- 28:51think it's a good idea, you know?
- 28:55You may have nothing, but the most honest of intentions.
- 28:57I surely did have nothing but the most honest of intentions
- 29:01when about it in a way that Made it clear that I was out of line.
- 29:08And I had I had the the gates shut on me.
- 29:11The gates were kept very Vigilant, you know, vigilantly
- 29:14strongly and as well. They should be As much as I
- 29:21disagree, as much as I would have as much as I stood there.
- 29:25All right, preferably as much as I stood there outside those
- 29:27Gates shaking. My head, shaking my fists.
- 29:32Feeling angry about the outcome. I won't you.
- 29:37Let me in damn it. You know, again within feeling
- 29:43those feelings, don't you see what I'm trying to do?
- 29:46Don't you understand what I'm trying to say?
- 29:47Can't you see, why can't you write all these things when we
- 29:51come from places like this, when we, when we think we know best
- 29:56Having not been a part of that in our society have not been
- 30:00involved in that to whatever degree.
- 30:03It is an inner yard and in guard when we have no I don't know.
- 30:13No obligation, no, real obligation.
- 30:15We may think we do because of all, they're my family.
- 30:18They're my blood right there. Mike in.
- 30:20I should be doing something like this for them because then
- 30:22they'll know how much I care for them how much I love them.
- 30:29It's about perception. you know, and our best of our best
- 30:36intentions are not always seen as as such and for a lot of
- 30:40folks, I think that when stuff, what I'm describing Loosely, at
- 30:44least happen for them, it's a It's like a trigger to put up
- 30:51our defenses or put up their defenses.
- 30:53Maybe, you know, when they feel like an outsider is trying to
- 30:59breach. The walls instead of
- 31:05approaching. The walls with.
- 31:10Though, the the ways that they should be approached in order to
- 31:13receive a welcoming entry? then of course, the defenses are
- 31:19going to be, you know, increased and it's going to be made very
- 31:24clear that You're not allowed in.
- 31:29You're not allowed here. You're not wanted here.
- 31:33You are not accepted here. Unless or until certain things
- 31:38happen unto you line up with our customs until you align with our
- 31:45ways until you change and become what we are. you're outside your
- 31:50routing guard, you have no business being here because you
- 31:55are not subject to our laws and therefore you are not welcome
- 31:59here. So Again, very simple.
- 32:02Very, very simple way of looking at things right up from a
- 32:04society way. Back in the day 12 2012 18 years
- 32:08ago whenever it's been since we see stuff like that.
- 32:14It worked back then does it work now?
- 32:17Should it work? Now I've literally been thinking
- 32:21about this for the last couple of days after having experienced
- 32:24it. And I'm a bit conflicted myself.
- 32:27You know, I see where some of this has potential for for
- 32:36working for good because You know, when when things are being
- 32:44done, right? It's like you know you got to
- 32:46play by the rules, you gotta, you want to join the club?
- 32:48You got to agree to the terms and conditions, right?
- 32:52Of of that agreement, it's like any other sort of contract that
- 32:56you enter into terms and conditions apply.
- 32:58So you store for details Batteries Not Included.
- 33:03You know, all those funny messages but my point being
- 33:07right is like you don't you don't you don't sign your name
- 33:11on the dotted line, you don't enter into that kind of contract
- 33:15when there are terms and conditions, without first
- 33:17reading, the fine print. If you don't and you sign
- 33:20anyway, then whose fault is it? When you violate the terms of
- 33:26that agreement, it's your own fault for not having read and
- 33:29understood the rules, right? So many people that That social
- 33:34media is a big, you know, a very popular example.
- 33:36I'll say for this especially on the Facebook or metal platform,
- 33:40um, there's all these private groups and stuff that people
- 33:44create and join for various reasons and they see a title of
- 33:49a thing, right? Whatever the group's about maybe
- 33:51it's a social interest or other sort of topic that they're
- 33:54interested in and they join it. They like yes, yes, yes,
- 33:58whatever. If there's questions that people
- 34:00ask ahead of time if the group that, Try to join.
- 34:04Ask questions about why are you joining?
- 34:05What do you think about this etcetera?
- 34:07They'll go through and they'll answer them, but they won't read
- 34:10the fine print necessarily, they won't go through the group
- 34:13rules, and then they'll do something.
- 34:15I've been guilty of this in the past.
- 34:16They'll do something that violates a rule and they'll get
- 34:19booted, or they'll get put in timeout, or they'll get, you
- 34:22know, punished as it were like, it'll their actions caused some
- 34:27sort of corrective action to take place a behavior causes
- 34:31corrective activities. And then to get up, Upset about.
- 34:33Why did you do that? Didn't you read the rules, you
- 34:37signed this agreement, you you entered into this place, you
- 34:42know knowing what the rules were and you broke them.
- 34:46What do you expect? And you're not allowed in until
- 34:50you agree to those rules, right? So again, for, that's a stretch
- 34:55and I were talking about, we're talking about societal tribal
- 34:59customs, and things like that with a with actual people
- 35:02face-to-face encounters. We're talking about that.
- 35:04And now we're talking about, you know, social media groups that
- 35:07have rules and regulations and things.
- 35:12There's some similarities, right?
- 35:13Nuances are our thing, but the there are similarities.
- 35:18That, that should be considered. But as I was saying before, like
- 35:23thinking about a couple days, you know, does what I'm what I'm
- 35:27talking about. Does it apply in a practical
- 35:30sense for heathens? Do you think it applies in a
- 35:33practical sense for heathens? I'm curious to hear what you
- 35:36know what everybody thinks. Because as I always do, you
- 35:39know, this is a rambling session of my thoughts and ideas and
- 35:43where my mind is at and here for one of the, you know, for for
- 35:47not say, say the first time But here, now on this episode of the
- 35:52random, healing Heathen ramblings podcast, I'm not 100%
- 35:59set on it being one way or the other.
- 36:02I'm still kind of trying to reach a conclusion myself and
- 36:08that's what this Episode was intended for it was to talk
- 36:13through things myself. Get your by in right.
- 36:17Get your feedback if you're so inclined and you want to want to
- 36:20share because this is how I think we advance and as and as
- 36:25we grow or how we grow as as as people, you know A lot of a lot
- 36:34of groups, I've friends with people that are in groups and
- 36:37I'm friends with other neighboring, tribes have a
- 36:42pretty good approach on keeping things, secular in the sense
- 36:49that if you're not part of that group, you're not part of that
- 36:50drive, then you're not a part of certain things, that, that group
- 36:53does. You know, there's there's luck
- 36:57to be preserved, there are things of that nature and and
- 37:01that goes back to me as as someone who serves in the
- 37:05capacity that I serve my tribe in.
- 37:08You know, that's one of the biggest jobs that I have is to
- 37:12ensure that our luck is safeguarded and preserved and to
- 37:15not let people in that. Could damage that luck, you
- 37:21know, it's a big responsibility. It's a huge task to undertake so
- 37:30to what degree does all of this apply?
- 37:33I don't think it should go away. I think it, I think it has You
- 37:39know, I lean more towards have it having a place but carefully,
- 37:43you know, being being careful to understand the purpose, the
- 37:46reason why why are you putting up these these safeguards?
- 37:51Why are you putting up things? Why aren't you just letting
- 37:53anybody and everybody join your group?
- 37:56So, you can become a big group and have a bigger Society, have
- 37:58a bigger, you know, Community to work with, you know, bigger is
- 38:04not always better. The size of of, the, of the
- 38:08group is not reflect the quality, right?
- 38:12So it's quality over quantity, it's the Focus right?
- 38:17But, yeah, so introductory or re introductory episode for this
- 38:23week. Not an exceptionally long one,
- 38:26but after having traveled round trip in the last week and a
- 38:32half, you know, well over, I think we probably put I would
- 38:40say we had to put, you know, probably 4,000 miles on our
- 38:46vehicle. My wife, and I, her vehicle
- 38:48really because we use her car to go up there.
- 38:52It's the one that's in the best condition for our trip.
- 38:58This is what you got. You got, you got an episode that
- 39:03was recorded on the day that I return back to the land of
- 39:07Tennessee. You know, that was another that
- 39:11was another really interesting thing is, you know, I've gone
- 39:13back and forth to New York for a long time.
- 39:18Decades. You know, I've been living
- 39:20living in tenant living in Tennessee.
- 39:22This year will be 17 years that I've lived here in this state
- 39:28and I've gone back to New York, you know, dozens of times.
- 39:32Every time I left New York to come back to Tennessee, you
- 39:34know, it was always like a Bittersweet thing like I I'm
- 39:38anxious to get get back to where I live, but I also feel this
- 39:42sort of sadness From leaving my home state.
- 39:47You know, this return trip was the first time ever, that I've
- 39:52left New York and headed back to Tennessee.
- 39:55And I wasn't sad if anything. I was like, I cannot wait to get
- 39:59back home. I can't wait to get back to
- 40:01Tennessee. you know, and that sense of home that sense of
- 40:06where family is, where tribe is where our people are, you know,
- 40:11doesn't it at least for me, you know it no longer is anchored or
- 40:18you know pulling towards a geographical location that I was
- 40:24born in or where I was native to, you know, where I am native
- 40:29to, I guess is there was no was You know, I was born there.
- 40:33I'm a New Yorker. For all intents and purposes.
- 40:37That's that's, you know, I talk a certain way, I have certain
- 40:41mannerisms that don't align with Southern tradition.
- 40:44So I'm a Northman, I'm literally a northerner.
- 40:47I'm I'm from the Northern State in our country northern region.
- 40:53But I walked in rivers up there, I put my bare feet on the ground
- 41:01up there, I drummed, the near the water's, to to heal, and
- 41:04then do all the things like I alluded to earlier for the
- 41:07reasons that I alluded to or talked about my father's death.
- 41:13And there was some healing that took place there were.
- 41:15There were there was definitely things that needed to happen
- 41:17that did happen while I was there.
- 41:21And But it doesn't have the same sense of feeling like home that
- 41:28that Tennessee does anymore. Like, my people are here, my
- 41:32family is here in Tennessee. My blood kin.
- 41:40Are still in New York. you know, and if there's anybody, that is
- 41:45my blood can that watches this my family is in Tennessee.
- 41:56And that can change. Sure can change things can
- 41:59happen. And I hope things do happen that
- 42:05need to happen. I hope that there are changes
- 42:09that take place for the good. Of our respective in and guards
- 42:17our respective inner yards, our respective inner sanctums, our
- 42:21circles are people, and that's all I ever want for anybody.
- 42:26You know what I mean? Like, I want.
- 42:27I want good to happen. Four people.
- 42:33That is their good. What is good for them?
- 42:37As long as it doesn't harm anybody else.
- 42:40So long as it doesn't. Put other people In Harm's Way
- 42:45or hurt other people, you know, if it doesn't so closely or
- 42:50exactly line up with my worldviews, my ethics, my
- 42:52morals, as long as it's not hurting anybody else.
- 42:58Then I hope it happens for you. I hope the things that you need
- 43:02to be successful prosperous. Life fulfilling that are good
- 43:08for you, that happen for you again so long as nobody else has
- 43:11hurt. And I wish that for all So think
