Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: All right, tax days today, What is the dumbest thing
- 0:11Speaker 1: you have ever blown your tax return on?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Uh?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I know there's probably people going, what's a return? I
- 0:19Speaker 1: always owe money. I guarantee that's in the comments at
- 0:22Speaker 1: some point you're today, But Angie, what is the dumbest thing.
- 0:25Speaker 3: You've ever blown your tax? Or turn on?
- 0:27Speaker 1: Because it feels so good in the moment, and then
- 0:30Speaker 1: like a month later, you're always saying to yourself, why
- 0:33Speaker 1: did I buy this?
- 0:34Speaker 2: I still think about this fifteen years later?
- 0:38Speaker 3: Oh wow, that longs Yes. Wow.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Way back when, in two thousand and eleven, I used
- 0:46Speaker 2: my tax return, and back then it was like I
- 0:50Speaker 2: was a new tax filer or whatever. My return was
- 0:54Speaker 2: like eight hundred bucks.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Right, You thought you were rich.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I thought I was rich, and I thought I'm gonna
- 0:59Speaker 2: get even richer. I'm going to buy this gargantuan machine
- 1:05Speaker 2: to print graphic tea I can draw. I felt like
- 1:09Speaker 2: I had a creative enough brain to come up with
- 1:12Speaker 2: the dopest graphic teas in history.
- 1:15Speaker 3: So it's like an investment.
- 1:16Speaker 2: You thought, Yes, so I spend this eight hundred dollars
- 1:19Speaker 2: on this machine and then I quite literally have never
- 1:24Speaker 2: opened it.
- 1:25Speaker 3: You still have it. I still have it.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It is brand new. Well, no, it's fifteen years old,
- 1:32Speaker 2: but it's just in pristine condition. It's never been open,
- 1:35Speaker 2: never taken out of the box. Obviously, I do not
- 1:38Speaker 2: have a thriving graphic.
- 1:39Speaker 3: T shirt business start.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I know now it's too late. Now, it feels just
- 1:45Speaker 2: so far gone. But yeah, fifteen years ago, I could
- 1:48Speaker 2: have done a lot better things with that eight hundred dollars.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I could have saved it, I could have invested it.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I'm glad bitcoin wasn't around back then, though, because I
- 1:56Speaker 2: might have done some of that and I would have
- 1:58Speaker 2: messed myself up. But yeah, I think about it every day.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Every time tax day rolls around, I think, wow, I
- 2:04Speaker 2: really blew that money for no reason.
- 2:06Speaker 1: You know, I really respect Trevor on our Facebook page, Trevor.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The dumbest thing Trevor's blown his tax return on was
- 2:13Speaker 1: strip Club. And you know what, sometimes you just gotta.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Do it, Okay, but he probably helps some ladies get
- 2:19Speaker 2: through college, and that's commendable.
- 2:22Speaker 1: That's right, Ashley said, slot machines in Vegas doing some
- 2:26Speaker 1: gambling in your native homeland. It, Yeah, you did say
- 2:29Speaker 1: it was only about two hundred bucks, but it was
- 2:31Speaker 1: still dumb. And then we have Lisa, Kara and Lisa
- 2:36Speaker 1: who all said return what's that or some various version
- 2:41Speaker 1: of that. Poor one of the Lisa says, I only
- 2:43Speaker 1: get to pay in thousands of dollars. That is one
- 2:46Speaker 1: of my worst nightmares. I go to the tax guy,
- 2:49Speaker 1: you know, I'm psyched, or tax lady, and I'm psyched, like,
- 2:51Speaker 1: oh yeah, I might get a grand back or a
- 2:53Speaker 1: couple of grand who knows, you know, whatever the number is.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And then they go, actually, you owe the government thirteen bucks.
- 3:00Speaker 3: It would be irate.
- 3:02Speaker 2: You know what, You're about to have a baby, so
- 3:04Speaker 2: next year you get to claim that child text credit.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Oh I get to be.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Rich for about eighteen seconds. Celebrating life's little victories victory
- 3:17Speaker 1: every morning we practice gratitude on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:21Speaker 3: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 3:23Speaker 3: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Hard and I just really needed to win, you know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 3:31Speaker 1: two eight A one ninety eight seven, Angie, do you
- 3:35Speaker 1: have a little victory for us here today?
- 3:37Speaker 2: I do. I am in my curly wavy hair era again,
- 3:44Speaker 2: which I like. It's that time of year where I
- 3:47Speaker 2: feel like I need to give my hair a break
- 3:49Speaker 2: from heat, styling, sure and straightening all the time. And
- 3:53Speaker 2: now that the weather is turning, I know, sometimes she
- 3:57Speaker 2: gets confused and she goes back to how she was,
- 3:59Speaker 2: But there is turning and that's always the best time
- 4:03Speaker 2: for my hair to be in its natural state. And
- 4:06Speaker 2: so now I'm on like five days in a row
- 4:09Speaker 2: now of curly hair journey and I feel really good
- 4:12Speaker 2: about it. And I'm giving my hair a break from
- 4:15Speaker 2: the heat tools and I'm I don't like it. I
- 4:18Speaker 2: feel good.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah, there you are, curly, curly haired cutie, curly cute.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure one out.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I can't.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Well they I'll take curly haired cutie.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, let's use that then.
- 4:27Speaker 4: All right.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Well, hey, congratulations, I'm glad. Maybe a little less work
- 4:31Speaker 1: on the on the hair. No, it's work.
- 4:34Speaker 2: It's worked, different kind of work where it gives my
- 4:37Speaker 2: hair a break from, you know, all the day, the
- 4:40Speaker 2: Rihanna kind of work. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I like that.
- 4:44Speaker 3: What about you? Well, we have Clarissa.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Clarissa said she started practicing for her first adult violin recital.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Oh this weekend, all right, Welisa's fabulous. Hopefully you get
- 4:55Speaker 1: all the notes right and practice is fun and goes
- 4:58Speaker 1: well for you.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Violin is such a fascinating instrument to me. I think
- 5:02Speaker 2: it sounds so beautiful, and when people can play it
- 5:05Speaker 2: on like a level that's listenable, it's really impressive. So
- 5:09Speaker 2: good on you girl.
- 5:10Speaker 1: My little victory today is I have I think discovered
- 5:14Speaker 1: one of my top three favorite new leftover foods. All right,
- 5:18Speaker 1: any kind any kind of uh, you know, like Chinese
- 5:22Speaker 1: food or Ocasian type of food. The next day I
- 5:25Speaker 1: always think is so good. I don't know if it's
- 5:27Speaker 1: like maybe all the grease has settled.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's coagulated. It's delicious. Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And then you know, spaghetti is always pretty good leftover.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't even have to heat it up, honestly.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Well, you know Taj the restaurant we love, the Indian
- 5:41Speaker 1: restaurant that would.
- 5:42Speaker 3: All course of course.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Well Corey and I and Bye. I I mean I
- 5:48Speaker 1: just go with to help by the ingredients. I don't
- 5:50Speaker 1: do any of anything. But Corey kind of got inspired
- 5:54Speaker 1: and started making her own kind of buttered chicken the
- 5:56Speaker 1: same way they do at TAJ, or as close to
- 5:59Speaker 1: it as passaj is goaded.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but that stuff.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Corey made some of it the other day and I
- 6:06Speaker 1: had some of it for lunch for leftovers yesterday.
- 6:10Speaker 3: So fire, literally change.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You had my life in your office?
- 6:14Speaker 4: Right?
- 6:14Speaker 3: No? No, something else? Okay, I ate this at home,
- 6:17Speaker 3: but I could bring it in. Maybe I'll do that.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Say sometimes I walk into your office after you've eaten it,
- 6:23Speaker 2: and I know it's not soup, but it always smells
- 6:25Speaker 2: really good.
- 6:26Speaker 3: What was that I have discovered?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, buttered chicken leftover is pretty dang fire. I have
- 6:37Speaker 1: a question I need to know the answer to. If
- 6:40Speaker 1: you have a guess or if you have an opinion,
- 6:43Speaker 1: I want to know today seven oh one two eight
- 6:45Speaker 1: zero one nine eight seven we just had I'm glad
- 6:48Speaker 1: we just had Sabrina Carpenter there with espresso. Do you
- 6:51Speaker 1: think when Sabrina goes out with her not famous, not
- 6:54Speaker 1: rich friends, she picks up the tab Like Taylor Swift
- 6:58Speaker 1: has to have childhood friends that obviously aren't rich or
- 7:01Speaker 1: famous that she hangs out with. Justin Bieber's gotta have
- 7:04Speaker 1: childhood friends that he hangs out.
- 7:06Speaker 3: With when he goes back and visits Canada, who.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Obviously aren't one hundred millionaires when they go out and
- 7:12Speaker 1: do things together. Do you think these mega rich celebrities
- 7:17Speaker 1: pick up the tab seven oh one two eight zero.
- 7:20Speaker 3: One nine eight seven?
- 7:21Speaker 2: They better?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Do you think their friends expect them to pick up
- 7:24Speaker 1: the tab like justin got it?
- 7:26Speaker 2: Well, they should expect that. I think I saw this
- 7:29Speaker 2: interview once between Oprah and Chelsea Handler and they were
- 7:33Speaker 2: discussing about picking up the tab, and Chelsea Handler and
- 7:37Speaker 2: Oprah both agree it is clear that in their friend
- 7:41Speaker 2: groups they are the ones with the most money, right
- 7:44Speaker 2: and so and so if you're at a dinner, Chelsea
- 7:48Speaker 2: Handler's like, I'm gonna pick up the tab. It's embarrassing
- 7:50Speaker 2: to be like, oh, who got one and split that
- 7:52Speaker 2: I clearly have the most money. I'm just gonna pick
- 7:54Speaker 2: up the tab, right And Oprah agreed and said that's
- 7:57Speaker 2: the same with her as she just picks up the tab.
- 7:59Speaker 2: And I feel like, duh. At no point, if I
- 8:03Speaker 2: happened to who would I want to be friends with?
- 8:04Speaker 2: If I happened to meet Hillary Duff, for example, and
- 8:09Speaker 2: we became besties and we went out to lunch and
- 8:13Speaker 2: there was any semblance of like, who's gonna pick up
- 8:16Speaker 2: the check? I guess we're not friends anymore because clearly,
- 8:19Speaker 2: Hillary Duff, you got money, honey, in a way that
- 8:21Speaker 2: I don't. I think it's embarrassing if a celebrity doesn't
- 8:25Speaker 2: pick up the tab because what are you doing?
- 8:27Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 8:28Speaker 1: And you know, like Bieber or Taylor, they have the
- 8:31Speaker 1: money to afford very easily to go do some crazy
- 8:34Speaker 1: fun things that maybe there regular human friends can't afford
- 8:39Speaker 1: to go do.
- 8:39Speaker 3: So that'd be a little different.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Like if Bieber calls up his buddy and is like,
- 8:43Speaker 1: hey man, you want to go skydiving and he his
- 8:45Speaker 1: buddy's like, well, I don't have five hundred dollars to
- 8:47Speaker 1: pay to go skydiving today.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm assuming he'd be like, I got you, I
- 8:51Speaker 3: got you.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I feel like unless they have friends that are like, no,
- 8:55Speaker 2: I really want to feel like I'm paying my own
- 8:58Speaker 2: way and I want things to be fair, so you
- 9:00Speaker 2: don't always have to pick up the tab. Fine, but
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'll tell you right now, I'm not that kind of friend.
- 9:06Speaker 2: If you rich, rich, you better be paying the tab
- 9:09Speaker 2: because the other thing is that also if I invite
- 9:12Speaker 2: someone over for something and then and we decide, like,
- 9:15Speaker 2: let's go do something else, And it was my idea.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I probably will cover their tab. Sure, And I ain't
- 9:21Speaker 2: even got money like that.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Because I think about it.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I've watched this interview once with Justin Bieber where he
- 9:27Speaker 1: talked about just things he does for fun. You know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: sometimes he will literally just go to a random dive
- 9:32Speaker 1: bar and just hang out and like have a beer. Yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 1: and some people obviously get very excited about it, but
- 9:37Speaker 1: he really clearly enjoys when people don't. He mentioned some
- 9:40Speaker 1: people don't really care and it's kind of cool.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:42Speaker 1: One of my dreams in life would be to run
- 9:44Speaker 1: into some uba rich, mega celebrity in some dive bar
- 9:49Speaker 1: and be like, no, I want to buy you a beer,
- 9:50Speaker 1: so that I can say I bought you a beer.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Like okay, when okay, I like that I bought.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Some random dude a beer. That's not a story.
- 9:58Speaker 1: But if I can have in my back pocket, like,
- 10:01Speaker 1: oh man, I bought Taylor a cocktail yesterday, that would
- 10:04Speaker 1: be so awesome.
- 10:05Speaker 2: You know what, Gabe, I've done what I like that,
- 10:07Speaker 2: I like that, I like that.
- 10:10Speaker 3: That all right?
- 10:11Speaker 1: Well, let us know what you think seven oh one
- 10:12Speaker 1: two eight zero one nine eight seven. If you have
- 10:15Speaker 1: an uber rich friend, uh, maybe they're even a celebrity.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Not all you know, people who are rich are celebrities. Obviously.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Do they pick up the tab all the time? Do
- 10:25Speaker 1: you expect them to pick up the tab? It's probably
- 10:28Speaker 1: nice for you to pick it up once in a while,
- 10:32Speaker 1: but I.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Don't want to exactly seven oh one two eight zero
- 10:36Speaker 3: one nine eight seven. What do you think.
- 10:40Speaker 1: This would be great news? Exam for example, Angie, for
- 10:42Speaker 1: my younger sister. My younger sister is thirty two, thirty
- 10:46Speaker 1: two or thirty three? I can never remember.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Great, what a wonderful brother?
- 10:50Speaker 3: But well I lose track.
- 10:52Speaker 1: My brother older brother's either three or two years older
- 10:55Speaker 1: than me, and then my sister's the other one.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I can't okay, but well, let's give her some good
- 11:01Speaker 2: news that.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yes, my sister is terrified of needles when she has
- 11:06Speaker 1: to get shots at the doctor. You know you're afraid
- 11:09Speaker 1: of birds, Yeah, she's got that.
- 11:10Speaker 3: But with needles.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 11:12Speaker 1: So, if you are someone who is not a fan
- 11:14Speaker 1: of shots or needles, if you despise them, there might
- 11:19Speaker 1: be some liquid courage that could help you and no,
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm not talking about doing shots before you go in
- 11:25Speaker 1: to get your shots.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Okay, shot, that's right.
- 11:28Speaker 1: There is a virologist named Chris Buck and he believes
- 11:33Speaker 1: he's created an experimental vaccine beer using engineered yeast to
- 11:41Speaker 1: deliver antigens.
- 11:43Speaker 3: To your body. All right, listen to me talk about it.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Right here, about to drink the first vaccine beer the
- 11:48Speaker 2: world has ever seen.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I made this beer.
- 11:51Speaker 2: In my home lab set up, and I'm hoping that
- 11:55Speaker 2: eventually it will be able.
- 11:56Speaker 5: To protect transplant patients against a horrible virus callum plyma virus.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Now, as you heard there, these obviously aren't.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Immunea's immune is immunisation. It's just, for the love of goodness,
- 12:07Speaker 1: thank you. Ah, it's for these poly oma viruses, small
- 12:13Speaker 1: viruses that essentially it can cause like infections in your body. Okay,
- 12:17Speaker 1: would you be in favor of this if you had
- 12:19Speaker 1: to go down this route, would you chug one of
- 12:23Speaker 1: these beers if needed?
- 12:24Speaker 3: Or would you take the shot? I think this is wonderful.
- 12:27Speaker 1: This is the easiest way to get me to get
- 12:29Speaker 1: a shot in the history of life.
- 12:30Speaker 2: This is a weird thing about me, but I absolutely
- 12:34Speaker 2: love needles that sounds so weird. God, I really like
- 12:40Speaker 2: getting an ivy in, and I think it's because I
- 12:43Speaker 2: have such great Every nurse that has ever put an
- 12:46Speaker 2: ivy in me or drawn blood has told me that
- 12:49Speaker 2: I have excellent veins. They're nice and spongy and ready to.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Take a little bit of pride, do I do?
- 12:57Speaker 1: So?
- 12:57Speaker 2: It's never like a tough time, sir, chink for the
- 13:00Speaker 2: vein or all. We're gonna have to do it through
- 13:02Speaker 2: your hand, just right there in my arm. I'm just
- 13:05Speaker 2: looking at it right now. She's beautiful, she's ready phlebottomist
- 13:08Speaker 2: dream over here. Yeah, no, I don't mind a shot. However,
- 13:14Speaker 2: if this beer is gonna give me an give me
- 13:17Speaker 2: some sort of immunity and then also make me feel buzzed,
- 13:20Speaker 2: and maybe I would.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Take it now.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Technically, the inspiration it was not for people who are
- 13:25Speaker 1: afraid of needles. It's because the researchers they just haven't
- 13:28Speaker 1: developed an injectable vaccine for the viruses yet, so maybe
- 13:32Speaker 1: that at some point will be on the way. What
- 13:34Speaker 1: I will tell you right now, if I have the
- 13:37Speaker 1: choice between a shot, you know you take a lot
- 13:40Speaker 1: of pride in being able to get your vein you
- 13:42Speaker 1: got good veins and shots and what have you. I
- 13:44Speaker 1: take the same amount of pride and how fast I
- 13:45Speaker 1: can chug a beer, So I would love to show
- 13:48Speaker 1: off in front of these doctors.
- 13:52Speaker 3: This is am I the problem? It's me Hi.
- 13:58Speaker 1: The problem is me here one side of the story,
- 14:01Speaker 1: and with your help, decide if it's right or if
- 14:06Speaker 1: maybe you're the problem. That's right, I am the problem
- 14:10Speaker 1: on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I chose this one, Gabe, by the way, because you
- 14:16Speaker 2: are also an expecting father, which is what Darren is.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And by the way, if you ever have and am
- 14:22Speaker 2: I the problem that you want to submit, you can
- 14:25Speaker 2: head to Big nine eight seven dot com click the
- 14:27Speaker 2: on air tab and there's a submission form right there.
- 14:30Speaker 2: All right, so let's get into it. Good morning, Gabe
- 14:34Speaker 2: and Angie. This is Darren. My wife and I are
- 14:36Speaker 2: expecting our first kid end of next month, and we
- 14:40Speaker 2: still haven't settled on a name because the one I
- 14:42Speaker 2: want isn't the one she wants. And she says at
- 14:46Speaker 2: the end of the day she gets final say since
- 14:50Speaker 2: she's the one who is literally giving birth. I clearly
- 14:55Speaker 2: don't agree with that. The baby is my kid too,
- 14:57Speaker 2: and I should have as much say as her. Do
- 15:00Speaker 2: you think since I'm not physically pregnant, my opinion doesn't
- 15:04Speaker 2: count as much? Or she being unreasonable? What are your thoughts?
- 15:10Speaker 3: Well, there's a both and here. Okay.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I understand why she would want a certain name. She
- 15:18Speaker 1: is doing the heavy well not the heavy lifting, she's
- 15:20Speaker 1: doing quite literally all of the lifting.
- 15:22Speaker 3: That's right, all of it. But I also understand why.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Hey, you know your dad too, you should have some
- 15:27Speaker 1: say that you're kind of gonna lose.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Lose.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Here's what you do, all right, as adults who are
- 15:33Speaker 1: obviously mature enough to create a baby, to create life.
- 15:36Speaker 1: What you both do is neither of you get your name,
- 15:39Speaker 1: and you find a different one that you both can
- 15:41Speaker 1: agree on. Then everybody loses and you're both miserable. You
- 15:43Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I think that's how you go
- 15:46Speaker 1: about it. By I am having a daughter sometime this summer. Yeah,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and her first name is going to be wonderful.
- 15:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I kind of didn't have a ton of say in it,
- 15:56Speaker 1: which is fine, And there's a reason why I didn't
- 15:58Speaker 1: have a ton of say. Already has an older sister
- 16:01Speaker 1: who is sadly no longer around anymore, and her name
- 16:04Speaker 1: is going to be kind of a combo of her
- 16:05Speaker 1: first and middle name made into one.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, how am I going to argue that? Okay?
- 16:11Speaker 1: And that might sound kind of hurt, but it's like
- 16:13Speaker 1: what am I supposed to say?
- 16:14Speaker 4: Like?
- 16:14Speaker 2: Not that?
- 16:16Speaker 3: Do that? Aiden?
- 16:17Speaker 2: My older one, his middle name is in honor of
- 16:21Speaker 2: my ex's dear friend who passed away. So I was
- 16:25Speaker 2: not gonna veto that.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not gonna fight that.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Right, But I will say this. When I was both
- 16:30Speaker 2: times that I was pregnant, I was very clear that
- 16:35Speaker 2: when it comes to naming, I feel like I should
- 16:38Speaker 2: get final say because I physically, not only do you
- 16:41Speaker 2: have to incubate and grow this baby, and literally pregnancy
- 16:45Speaker 2: is a parasitic relationship. You're not getting anything from the pregnancy.
- 16:48Speaker 3: It's like a crock pott on low.
- 16:50Speaker 2: For eight hours, the baby is draining all of you.
- 16:55Speaker 2: And then you have to give birth to this thing,
- 16:58Speaker 2: whether you're pushing that baby out or they have to
- 17:02Speaker 2: cut the baby out of you. Both incredible traumas to
- 17:07Speaker 2: your body. And so I always said, if I'm the
- 17:11Speaker 2: one who has to go through all that, I get
- 17:12Speaker 2: final say on the name. Sure, when it came down
- 17:16Speaker 2: to it, I was gonna have a Leonidas, but I
- 17:22Speaker 2: did give my man some say and that's why we
- 17:25Speaker 2: have an aiden. And then with Liam, I was like, no,
- 17:28Speaker 2: this time, I'm really gonna get the name that I chose.
- 17:33Speaker 2: And I would have had a Tyrian, but no, I
- 17:36Speaker 2: have a Liam because I compromised with dad. And I
- 17:40Speaker 2: think it's easy. In the while you're pregnant, the hormones
- 17:44Speaker 2: are going crazy. Don't ever tell your wife she's hormonal,
- 17:47Speaker 2: though only we're allowed to say it about ourselves. That's right,
- 17:50Speaker 2: But you know, it's like, if I'm going through this
- 17:52Speaker 2: and I really want this, but I think at the
- 17:54Speaker 2: end of the day, if you're partners who love each other,
- 17:58Speaker 2: you aren't going to pick a name that your partner
- 18:02Speaker 2: doesn't like. I ended up compromising with my man, and
- 18:05Speaker 2: I love my kids' names. They're very basic, but I
- 18:09Speaker 2: love their their names, and I'm glad that I didn't
- 18:12Speaker 2: die on that hill.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I just think there's so many different there's obviously millions
- 18:17Speaker 1: of names to choose from.
- 18:19Speaker 3: If you can't.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Agree on two or whatever, can't you just find one
- 18:24Speaker 1: that you both agree on. I mean, there are so
- 18:26Speaker 1: many for you to rifle off or go through or
- 18:28Speaker 1: ask Google or chat GPT. Can you mean some names
- 18:31Speaker 1: that start with this letter? I mean this or stand
- 18:34Speaker 1: for this? There's so many, just find a different one.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think there is still time. You've got like a
- 18:40Speaker 2: month and some change to go. I think everything's gonna
- 18:44Speaker 2: be fine. Don't fight your wife too much on it.
- 18:48Speaker 2: She's going through a lot, but I think there will
- 18:50Speaker 2: be a compromise. What do you think? Seven oh one
- 18:52Speaker 2: two eight zho one nine eight seven? Have you gone
- 18:55Speaker 2: through this?
- 18:56Speaker 1: Do?
- 18:56Speaker 2: Who you think? It's the final say? On the baby's
- 19:00Speaker 2: We also have this posted to our Facebook page, so
- 19:03Speaker 2: hit us up there. What are your thoughts on?
- 19:05Speaker 5: Or?
- 19:06Speaker 1: Was there a name that you actually died on that hill?
- 19:08Speaker 1: You were not gonna budge you didn't? Yeah, what is
- 19:11Speaker 1: the name? Let us know that too? Seven oh one
- 19:13Speaker 1: two eight zero one seventy And we do have Duaba
- 19:25Speaker 1: on the phone, a name we love. By the way,
- 19:28Speaker 1: how did you go about picking your kids' names?
- 19:30Speaker 4: I didn't get to pick either one of my kids's names?
- 19:32Speaker 2: Really what? Nope?
- 19:35Speaker 4: I gave I got two names up for my oldest
- 19:38Speaker 4: and my sister and niece pick picked that name and
- 19:41Speaker 4: I got to So I had two picks names from
- 19:44Speaker 4: my oldest daughter, and they picked her first name, and
- 19:47Speaker 4: then the middle name was the second choice. So I
- 19:51Speaker 4: got to pick her middle name. And then my youngest
- 19:54Speaker 4: my husband picked her name.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Well, it sounds like you were pretty nice and about
- 20:00Speaker 3: what they were going to go with.
- 20:02Speaker 4: It was a very nice and then and then my
- 20:04Speaker 4: youngest is like, but Mom, I like the name you
- 20:08Speaker 4: picked for my name better than what Dad picks.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Don't you hate that one? Dad screwed it up again?
- 20:14Speaker 2: Okay, but now she can rub that in his face forever.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Darren and his wife are expecting their first kid at
- 20:22Speaker 2: the end of next month. They haven't agreed on a name,
- 20:24Speaker 2: but his wife says that she should get final say
- 20:27Speaker 2: because she's the one physically giving birth. He feels like
- 20:31Speaker 2: that's unreasonable and he should have equals say. So of
- 20:34Speaker 2: course he turned to us, the experts on Nothing, to
- 20:39Speaker 2: give him some advice. But thank god we have you,
- 20:42Speaker 2: and so we also have this up on our Facebook page.
- 20:46Speaker 2: We got some responses. Katie said that with my first
- 20:50Speaker 2: I chose the first name and Dad solely chose the
- 20:53Speaker 2: middle name. I have no say since I got the
- 20:55Speaker 2: name I wanted that's the thing. That'd be an option
- 21:01Speaker 2: for him to do the middle name. In my household,
- 21:04Speaker 2: ain't none of us got middle names though.
- 21:06Speaker 1: That's yeah, the idea of he can pick the middle name,
- 21:09Speaker 1: like that's some victory is the most If you're not first,
- 21:14Speaker 1: your last.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Of all, Angie, you don't even have I doubt.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I bet one of my best friends on earth his
- 21:20Speaker 1: name is Chris, no middle name. So let's not act like, oh,
- 21:23Speaker 1: he can pick the middle name, like that's some victory.
- 21:25Speaker 3: No, that might be.
- 21:27Speaker 2: No, that might be because, on the other hand, there
- 21:29Speaker 2: are some people who strictly go by their middle names.
- 21:32Speaker 2: So maybe that's the move. Fine, you name her or
- 21:36Speaker 2: I don't know what the baby is, but you name
- 21:38Speaker 2: the baby whatever you want. Then what I want to
- 21:41Speaker 2: be the middle name, and then let the kids choose
- 21:44Speaker 2: which your name they like better. I like that.
- 21:46Speaker 3: I do too.
- 21:47Speaker 1: We did have Jacqueline who also Jacqueline was kind of
- 21:50Speaker 1: on the other side of this. There's a lot of
- 21:52Speaker 1: ladies who have chimed in and said, hey, she's doing
- 21:55Speaker 1: the heavy lifting, she gets kind of the priority, which
- 21:57Speaker 1: I think is, you know, fairly fair. But Jacqueline said,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I do not think just because she's pregnant that she
- 22:03Speaker 1: gets the stronger say in this situation, carrying a child
- 22:07Speaker 1: for the family, I assume you both agreed upon growing
- 22:10Speaker 1: does not give her a pass to sway decisions in
- 22:13Speaker 1: her favor. You must always compromise and weigh all the options.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Can one of the names be a middle name instead
- 22:19Speaker 1: or be used for a different child if you choose
- 22:21Speaker 1: to have more than one, That is also true if
- 22:24Speaker 1: you are stuck on two names, you could, in theory,
- 22:27Speaker 1: be like, hey, we kind of have planned on having
- 22:29Speaker 1: more than one. Yeah, I'll just pass this time up.
- 22:32Speaker 2: That's actually a good that's a good idea to as well.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I do find I do find them.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Well, you get the middle name to be kind of funny,
- 22:41Speaker 1: like we all know no one do you even know
- 22:43Speaker 1: my middle name?
- 22:44Speaker 2: Oh my god, Gabriel Frederick.
- 22:48Speaker 3: That's how not important that name?
- 22:53Speaker 1: How do you split chores at your household? Seven oh
- 22:57Speaker 1: one two eight zero one nine eight? And I've already
- 23:00Speaker 1: seen some comments on Facebook that really just kind of
- 23:04Speaker 1: made me laugh in a sense of like it's like,
- 23:06Speaker 1: what do you mean split them?
- 23:08Speaker 3: I just do them all, And for that I feel bad.
- 23:12Speaker 1: How do you split the jors at your house, and
- 23:15Speaker 1: you have two kids, you have Mikey who lives there,
- 23:17Speaker 1: so there's four of you.
- 23:18Speaker 3: How do you divvy on up? Those bad boys?
- 23:20Speaker 2: I am going to say, generally how it goes. There
- 23:25Speaker 2: are exceptions. I'm not saying that the men in my
- 23:29Speaker 2: house don't do anything. However, I live in a boy house. Okay,
- 23:35Speaker 2: Mikey the other day, I'm a boy when he was
- 23:38Speaker 2: doing something gross like these boys do not pick up
- 23:42Speaker 2: after themselves unless repeatedly asked, and I get tired of
- 23:47Speaker 2: doing that. I get tired of hearing the sound of
- 23:49Speaker 2: my own voice, believe it or not. And so usually
- 23:52Speaker 2: what happens, No, usually what happens is mess accumulates throughout
- 23:58Speaker 2: the week. I this is my fault. I don't really
- 24:02Speaker 2: say anything about it because I just feel like I'm
- 24:05Speaker 2: wasting my breath. And then come the weekend, I lose
- 24:09Speaker 2: my damn mind and I start aggressively cleaning clean, Yes
- 24:16Speaker 2: I'm rage cleaning, and then making unnecessary commentary throughout the
- 24:22Speaker 2: entire time. No one in this house ever helps me.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I guess I'll just clean this myself. Mm hmm. Oh,
- 24:27Speaker 2: couldn't put that in the sceink. Great, I'll wash it
- 24:30Speaker 2: like it's just that for a very long time until
- 24:33Speaker 2: I get everything clean, and during which then they offer,
- 24:38Speaker 2: well I could do No, I'm already doing it. Well,
- 24:41Speaker 2: let me take up the tread. No, I already got it.
- 24:44Speaker 2: And so essentially I'm my own worst enemy.
- 24:46Speaker 3: This sounds healthy.
- 24:50Speaker 5: So if anyone has an actually healthy way to split
- 24:54Speaker 5: up chores that actually works, please let me know, because
- 24:58Speaker 5: I already wants to Today Wednesday comes Saturday.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I'm about to be a month.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Once again, how do you split up the chores in
- 25:09Speaker 1: your household? This also is up on Facebook, and it
- 25:12Speaker 1: looks like we do have Derek on the phone.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Derek, how do you split up the chores of your house?
- 25:16Speaker 1: It depends on the specific chore, but we try to
- 25:18Speaker 1: split up everything evenly.
- 25:20Speaker 3: The only thing I can't do is laundry.
- 25:22Speaker 2: I'm just not good at it.
- 25:24Speaker 3: No, that's the best excuse.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I think that's weaponized incompetence.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I don't like your best excuse.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Ever, according to my wife, I would be the best
- 25:32Speaker 1: water getter of all time and the best popcorn maker
- 25:36Speaker 1: of all time.
- 25:36Speaker 3: So well, that's fair.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I put popcorn in the microwave better than anybody, I
- 25:41Speaker 1: believe it. Yeah, this is very fun to read about
- 25:44Speaker 1: on Facebook. There are some actually good ideas on here.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I like this from I believe it's Jared. He said,
- 25:50Speaker 1: we have three kids, two teen kids, one born on
- 25:54Speaker 1: the twenty fourth and one on the twenty seventh. They
- 25:56Speaker 1: alternate dishes day based off of odd or even day
- 26:01Speaker 1: of the month. It works awesome, so there is never
- 26:03Speaker 1: any I did them last fights, and our little guy
- 26:07Speaker 1: is on daily dog feeding duty usually works well, which
- 26:11Speaker 1: I think that's actually really smart.
- 26:13Speaker 2: This odd even day thing is so cute for the dishes,
- 26:16Speaker 2: and I feel I want to do that with Aiden
- 26:20Speaker 2: and Liam because they have odd even birthdays. Okay, I
- 26:23Speaker 2: think it's not. Liam about to be nine at the
- 26:26Speaker 2: end of this month, so he's gonna start washing some dishes.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I do like that. I think that's pretty good.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Tammy says split Lol, I do ninety nine percent, which
- 26:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:35Speaker 3: That kind of breaks my heart just a little bit.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I think part of that though, because now that I'm
- 26:40Speaker 2: thinking about it, when it comes to dishes, a lot
- 26:42Speaker 2: of us think that the other person does it.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Wrong, right.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I think when you're taking on that many chores, it's
- 26:49Speaker 2: because you think the other person does it poorly.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Yeah, they don't do it how you want it done. Yeah,
- 26:54Speaker 1: I feel you on that. All right, Well we do
- 26:56Speaker 1: have Miranda on the Fall of Miranda.
- 26:57Speaker 3: What about you? Okay? So I tried to hold show
- 27:00Speaker 3: chart saying and that lasted like three days.
- 27:02Speaker 4: And now we just do whoever gets annoyed first does
- 27:05Speaker 4: it like I have to think it's full. The person
- 27:07Speaker 4: who snaps first loses and has to do the dishes.
- 27:09Speaker 3: That is exactly lose.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I get annoyed first.
- 27:13Speaker 3: That's exactly how yours work at my Hausia.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I need some good.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Starting off the day with something good.
- 27:24Speaker 1: This is Gabe's good News on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Isaiah Lawson is a seventeen year old cancer survivor from
- 27:33Speaker 1: Fergus Falls, and he's turning his experience into a way
- 27:37Speaker 1: to help others. He created Zaios Jammy's, a specialized clothing
- 27:42Speaker 1: design with zippers and access points to make medical treatments
- 27:47Speaker 1: easier and more comfortable for kids battling illness. Now a
- 27:51Speaker 1: high school senior and athlete, Isaiah is using his invention
- 27:55Speaker 1: to compete in a National Entrepreneur of Impact contest where
- 27:59Speaker 1: he he's currently in first place.
- 28:01Speaker 3: If he wins, he'll receive mentorship.
- 28:03Speaker 1: I had a twenty five thousand dollars scholarship to help
- 28:06Speaker 1: grow his idea. And here's what he had to say
- 28:09Speaker 1: about his journey and the whole ordeal.
- 28:12Speaker 3: But yeah, no, it was definitely a character building thing.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I'm glad it happened to me. I wouldn't be who
- 28:17Speaker 3: I am if this didn't happen to me.
- 28:18Speaker 1: If that's not the definition of you know, obviously something
- 28:21Speaker 1: very negative and turning it into a positive and using
- 28:24Speaker 1: it to try to help lift up others, I don't
- 28:27Speaker 1: know what is so way to go to Isaiah. I
- 28:29Speaker 1: hope he wins it and keep doing you man, that's incredible,
- 28:32Speaker 1: incredible work out of you. The world is full of
- 28:35Speaker 1: nice people. If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
- 28:37Speaker 1: And broken crayons they still color
