Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today, December 28th.
- 0:11Speak up and shine bright. Have you ever watched something
- 0:14wrong happen and felt that battle inside?
- 0:16I should say something, but then fear kicks in.
- 0:19Fear of being laughed at, fear of losing friends, Fear of
- 0:22making it worse. Proverbs chapter 31 verse 8 is
- 0:26direct. Open your mouth for the mute,
- 0:28for the rights of all who are destitute.
- 0:30God cares about justice, kindness, and courage, and He
- 0:34calls his people to use their voices for good, especially for
- 0:37those who feel powerless. And Psalm 148 reminds you that
- 0:41your life has a bigger purpose than fitting in.
- 0:44Praise the Lord, praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in
- 0:47the heights. Everything God made is meant to
- 0:49point back to Him, including you.
- 0:52Praise isn't just singing on a Sunday.
- 0:54Praise is how you live on a Tuesday.
- 0:56It's choosing integrity when gossip is easy.
- 0:59It's choosing compassion when people are cruel.
- 1:02It's using your platform, whether that's social media or
- 1:05your lunch table, to reflect God's heart.
- 1:07Then First Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 9 to 10 says, For God
- 1:12has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through
- 1:15our Lord Jesus Christ who died for us so that we might live
- 1:19with him. Jesus didn't die so you could
- 1:21live afraid and silent. He died so you could live awake,
- 1:25clear minded, full of hope, full of purpose.
- 1:28When you know you belong to Jesus and your future is secure,
- 1:31you can speak up with love and shine with courage, even when it
- 1:34costs you something. So ask God for one brave step,
- 1:38one moment of truth spoken kindly, one act of protection
- 1:42for someone being targeted. 1 encouraging message to someone
- 1:45who feels invisible. Your voice matters when it's
- 1:48rooted in Jesus. Let's pray.
- 1:50Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me a voice and calling me
- 1:53to use it for good. Give me courage to speak up for
- 1:56those who can't speak for themselves and wisdom to do it
- 1:59with love. Let my life be praise, shining
- 2:02your light in everyday choices. Thank you for salvation through
- 2:05Jesus and help me live awake, ready and faithful in Jesus
- 2:09name, Amen. Imagine stepping into a new year

- 3:23Proverbs 31 one to nine world English Bible The words of King
- 3:27Lemuel, the revelation which his mother taught him.
- 3:30Oh my son, oh son of my womb, oh son of my vows, don't give your
- 3:34strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
- 3:38It is not for King's Lemuel. It is not for kings to drink
- 3:41wine, nor for Princess to say where is strong.
- 3:43Drink, lest they drink and forget the law and pervert the
- 3:47justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
- 3:49Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the
- 3:52bitter in soul. Let him drink and forget his
- 3:55poverty and remember his misery no more.
- 3:58Open your mouth for the mute in the cause of all who are left
- 4:01desolate. Open your mouth, judge
- 4:03righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.
- 4:06Psalm 148 World English Bible Praise Yah, Praise Yahweh from
- 4:11the heavens. Praise Him in the heights,
- 4:13praise Him all His angels, praise Him, all His army, praise
- 4:17Him. Sun and moon, praise Him.
- 4:19All you shining stars praise Him.
- 4:21You heavens of heavens, you waters that are above the
- 4:24heavens, let them praise Yahweh's name.
- 4:26For He commanded and they were created.
- 4:28He has also established them forever and ever.
- 4:31He has made a decree which will not pass away.
- 4:34Praise Yahweh from the earth, You great sea creatures and all
- 4:37depths, Lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy wind,
- 4:40fulfilling His word, mountains and all hills, fruit trees and
- 4:43all Cedars, wild animals and all livestock, small creatures and
- 4:47flying birds, Kings of the earth and all peoples, Princess and
- 4:51all judges of the earth, both young men and maidens, old men
- 4:54and children. Let them praise Yahweh's name,
- 4:57for His name alone is exalted. His glory is above the earth and
- 5:01the heavens. He has lifted up the horn of his
- 5:03people, the praise of all His Saints, even of the children of
- 5:06Israel, a people near to him praise Yah.
- 5:09First Thessalonians 4 to 5 World English Bible Finally then,
- 5:14brothers, we beg and exhort you in the Lord Jesus.
- 5:18That is, you received from us how you ought to walk, and to
- 5:20please God, that you abound more and more.
- 5:23For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord
- 5:25Jesus. For this is the will of God,
- 5:28your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,
- 5:32that each one of you know how to control his own body in
- 5:35sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust.
- 5:38Even as the Gentiles who don't know God, that no one should
- 5:42take advantage of and wrong a brother or sister in this
- 5:44matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things.
- 5:48As also we forewarned you and testified.
- 5:51For God called us not for uncleanness, but in
- 5:53sanctification. Therefore he who rejects this
- 5:56doesn't reject man, but God, who has also given His Holy Spirit
- 6:00to you. But concerning brotherly love,
- 6:03you have no need that one right to you.
- 6:05For you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.
- 6:08For indeed you do it toward all the brothers who are in all
- 6:11Macedonia. But we exhort you, brothers,
- 6:14that you abound more and more, and that you make it your
- 6:17ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business and
- 6:20to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you, that
- 6:24you may walk properly toward those who are outside and may
- 6:27have need of nothing. But we don't want you to be
- 6:29ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so
- 6:33that you don't grieve like the rest who have no hope.
- 6:36For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, Even so God
- 6:40will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
- 6:43For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are
- 6:46alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will in no
- 6:50way precede those who have fallen asleep.
- 6:52For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a
- 6:54shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with God's
- 6:57trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise
- 6:59first. Then we who are alive, who are
- 7:02left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet
- 7:05the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord
- 7:08forever. Therefore comfort one another
- 7:10with these words, but concerning the times and the seasons.
- 7:14Brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
- 7:17For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes
- 7:20like a thief in the night. For when they are saying peace
- 7:23and safety, then sudden destruction will come on them
- 7:26like birth pains on a pregnant woman, Then they will in no way
- 7:29escape. But you, brothers, aren't in
- 7:32darkness that the day should overtake you like a thief.
- 7:35You are all children of light and children of the day.
- 7:38We don't belong to the night, nor to darkness.
- 7:40So then let's not sleep as the rest do, but let's watch and be
- 7:44sober for those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are
- 7:48drunk are drunk in the night. But since we belong to the day,
- 7:51let's be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love,
- 7:54and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
- 7:57For God didn't appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of
- 8:00salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that
- 8:04whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
- 8:07Therefore exhort one another and build each other up, even as you
- 8:11also do. But we beg you, brothers, to
- 8:13know those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord,
- 8:16and admonish you, and to respect and honor them in love for their
- 8:20work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
- 8:23We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly,
- 8:26encourage the faint hearted, support the weak, Be patient
- 8:29toward all. See that no one returns evil for
- 8:32evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good
- 8:36for one another and for all. Always rejoice.
- 8:38Pray without ceasing in everything.
- 8:40Give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
- 8:43toward you. Don't quench the Spirit.
- 8:46Don't despise prophecies. Test all things and hold firmly
- 8:50that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
- 8:53May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely.
- 8:56May your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at
- 9:00the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 9:02He who calls you as faithful, who will also do it.
- 9:05Brothers, pray for us. Greet all the brothers with a
- 9:08holy kiss. I solemnly command you by the
- 9:11Lord that this letter be read. To all the holy brothers, the
- 9:14grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
- 9:17Amen. Thanks for joining us on Bible
