Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Kiss on my list. What about a text you didn't
- 0:03Speaker 1: ask for?
- 0:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Light FM. It's Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen. Go ahead. What happened?
- 0:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Or even in person, Cubby. What's a good response when
- 0:12Speaker 2: somebody tells you I love you and you don't love
- 0:16Speaker 2: them back?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Okay. This didn't happen to anybody in the room, but
- 0:19Speaker 1: it's a story that.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Oh, it didn't?
- 0:20Speaker 4: Well.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:21Speaker 3: So these are some of the suggestions. This is what
- 0:23Speaker 3: people say. Think about it.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Somebody's told you they love you. They're really putting themselves
- 0:29Speaker 2: out there, but you're not feeling, you're not quite there.
- 0:32Speaker 2: You can simply say, thank you.
- 0:34Speaker 1: That is very cold, and that's not good.
- 0:39Speaker 2: You can say, that means a lot to me, and
- 0:41Speaker 2: I'm grateful for your feelings.
- 0:43Speaker 4: I mean, I've seen all these before, by the way.
- 0:45Speaker 3: You have? Or heard?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Before I got married. Yeah, they just weren't there.
- 0:50Speaker 2: We're reading the same book, but you're a few pages
- 0:53Speaker 2: ahead of me.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Now, that's actually kind of encouraging if you're dating somebody
- 0:57Speaker 4: and they say that.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Because they're kind of saying there's a chance.
- 1:01Speaker 3: You're saying there's a chance.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Dumb and dumber.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Yes, exactly. Thank you. I feel very loved by you.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I mean, that's nicer than just thank you.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel it.
- 1:14Speaker 2: The one I think you never want to say, I know.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:19Speaker 3: That's a suggestion, too.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:21Speaker 4: How about that we're at, in this day and age,
- 1:23Speaker 4: a fact that it's all about texting and how it
- 1:25Speaker 4: comes across on text.
- 1:26Speaker 1: It should be in person. It should be on the phone.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 4: You shouldn't have to worry about how you're going to
- 1:30Speaker 4: respond to a text. If someone says, I love you,
- 1:32Speaker 4: but you're not in love with them, what do you
- 1:33Speaker 4: say back? You know, you could send maybe a tumbleweeds gif.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But it should be in person. It should be on
- 1:42Speaker 1: the phone and not on text.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Well, of course.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Of course. Like, do you even remember.
- 1:48Speaker 4: The first time you said I love you to Eric,
- 1:50Speaker 4: was it on text or was it in person?
- 1:52Speaker 3: No, it's in person.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Okay, and how did it go?
- 1:56Speaker 2: So, you know how I said the one thing you
- 1:59Speaker 2: don't want to say back to somebody if you're not
- 2:01Speaker 2: there yet.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Is I know. That's how it went in person.
- 2:05Speaker 1: He said I know?
- 2:06Speaker 3: Okay, so bear with me.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Set this up for me. Hang on, let me get
- 2:10Speaker 1: the right music.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Cubby, we were.
- 2:14Speaker 2: It was clearly there. The feelings were clearly there between us.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Because trust me, I'm not putting myself out on that limb.
- 2:21Speaker 2: And I don't want to scare anybody either. We were
- 2:24Speaker 2: like six months.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Into dating, full on. He was like practically living at
- 2:27Speaker 3: my house.
- 2:28Speaker 1: That's a good amount of time.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And I kind of half slipped, but needed to say.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I love you. And what does he do? He says,
- 2:36Speaker 3: I know. And he started crying. And it wasn't tears
- 2:41Speaker 3: of joy.
- 2:42Speaker 1: That was my next question. It had to have been
- 2:44Speaker 1: tears of joy.
- 2:44Speaker 3: He started crying.
- 2:45Speaker 1: He realized he was on the same page as you.
- 2:47Speaker 2: He's, he was on the same page as me, but
- 2:50Speaker 2: he had come out of a rough relationship and he
- 2:53Speaker 2: was afraid of falling in love again. And like, that
- 2:56Speaker 2: would be leading to hurt down the road. So that's,
- 3:00Speaker 2: In hindsight, probably he would agree. Not the best response.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And did he walk away? Did he just get up?
- 3:08Speaker 3: I did.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Oh, you did.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I said, yeah, that's not what I was hoping to hear.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Wasn't the response I was looking for. Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Well, now seven years.
- 3:19Speaker 3: We worked it out.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It is true love.
- 3:23Speaker 2: It is a risk, though, when you're the first one
- 3:24Speaker 2: to say it.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Wow.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't have said it if I didn't know
- 3:29Speaker 2: I was feeling it back.
- 3:30Speaker 3: So it was there. He just had to come to
- 3:33Speaker 3: terms with it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: And again, you can laugh about it now and all
- 3:37Speaker 1: is well. How about a group that sings good love songs?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Like You and Me. That's a great song.
- 3:45Speaker 3: And All of the People.
- 3:46Speaker 1: And All of the People.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I love it.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And Hanging by a Moment. The group is Lifehouse, and
- 3:49Speaker 1: we have tickets right now.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yes, you can see them on Tuesday, October 20th at
- 3:53Speaker 2: Gramercy Theatre. Tickets available now at Ticketmaster.com or give us
- 3:57Speaker 2: a call.
- 3:57Speaker 1: We're looking for caller 10-1-800-222-1067. I know. I know.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I know.
