[upbeat music] Probably, uh, probably... Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?
• 0:17
Probably ought to get my- Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey [laughs] I gotta get my talking thing over by my face Hey, hey, everybody. Talking business. Hey, everybody, it's, uh, Full Spectrum Cycling, show number 172. 172.
• 0:32
From the white room with black curtain studio in the back of the shop here at Everyday Cycles. Was a very good year. I can sort of kinda walk around in the showroom now. It's getting there. Yeah, it is much
• 0:46
more organized, I will say that. Made some... Made a... Well, I guess I didn't really make a bike go way out of the shop. I picked it up in- Put it against the wall...
• 0:58
Bangor, and then brought it here, and then Jim came and got it and sent it out the door. There you go. Wyatt. It was a Wyatt fat bike. Wyatt fat bike. I like that.
• 1:08
I don't know if I had pictures of it last week, but I'll... If I didn't, I'll have pictures this week. It's a very nice color scheme of the olive drab and greenish yellow variety. Nice. So yeah, that was a good trip.
• 1:22
Just made it in one day, though. I was gonna go over to Decorah, but then I didn't since Chewy was gonna be so late. So, I just said, "You know what? I'm turning around. I'm going home."
• 1:33
But, uh, people sure like those Wyatt bikes there, those Wyatt fat bikes. Especially if they're bigger people. The Maverick. Hey, guess what they got now that they didn't have before?
• 1:43
They have an XL version, which Wyatt says is for, like, people 6'4" and above. [laughs] Wow. Uh-huh. That's a very large bike. I think...
• 1:52
I know Sam's is only a large, and he's, like, 6'2"- Six foot on the button, I believe... 3... Six. Oh, is he only six foot? I believe he says he's only six foot. Wide or tall? That's- Ah. [laughs] Actually, he sent me...
• 2:03
They were at a wedding, and he sent me a, a family picture. Sam's the little one. Oh, yeah, of brothers and whatnot. Yeah His brother, his brother's nearly a foot taller, and apparently just shy of 400 pounds. Wow.
• 2:14
And it's not slim. I mean, it's not fat. He's, he's frightening. Yeah. Yeah, they're big. Yeah, they're big boys. Big Iowa kids over there. Yeah. They grown big.
• 2:24
[clears throat] Yeah, while I was there at the Wyatt, uh, I think it wa- I... Maybe it was the day before I got out there, but Sam's like, "Got any of those Wren forks out there?" The suspension fork, the inverted Wren.
• 2:36
And by cracky, they did, and we threw that on earlier in the week, and he's digging it. It's a very nice thing. It goes, "Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah." Did you hit the Pearl Street Brewery?
• 2:48
I didn't... No, I wasn't even in La Crosse. I was in Bangor, which is, like, 15 miles shy or something. Oh. Gotcha. And immediately turned around and came home, so [laughs] Well, well, you said Bangor.
• 2:59
I just thought it was nickname or something. [laughs] Oh, no, it's actually a town. Um- Fair enough. I just didn't remember... It's where, it's where, um- My geography... Wyatt Cycles moved.
• 3:09
Uh, in part, I think, because the machine shop that does all the racing goodies, that does the machine parts on the Wyatt Bicycles is also in Bangor. Dig, dig, dig, dig.
• 3:22
They're a- I have very limited La Crosse knowledge other than [laughs] Yeah. Well, they're- Pearl Street Brewing, but you need one of them...
• 3:28
So that if, if people are cruising by there, I'd stop and say hey to Wyatt because it's a kind of a cool shop. He's got, uh, he's got welding stuff. He's got powder coating stuff. He's got a showroom.
• 3:37
He's got a train that goes right past the outside of the building. Choo-choo. Wow. Yeah. It's- His own train, or- No, it's, uh, it's like a big- Like the active train... you know, freight train or- Oh, gotcha...
• 3:46
whatever it is. I don't know if Amtrak hits that track or not, but it's, uh, it- It's, it's a new shop, isn't it? Relatively new? I... Well, I think it's been there for three, four years. Yeah. He built it, though.
• 3:56
I don't... Th- th- they remodeled it, if nothing else. Oh, okay. Okay. I'm not sure they built the building to be- He should be on. He should be- We had Wyatt on a show. Yeah, we should.
• 4:04
We have had Wyatt on the show way a long time ago. Yeah, been a while. Yeah, it's been... So- Pre this shop, I'll guarantee that. Oh, yeah, for sure. I think it's when, when, when JK and I were...
• 4:12
Say, by the way, it's Sven here, and, and JK across the, across the way, and, and Tony- Yeah... r- massaging his, uh- Selle... Selle Anatomica saddle. It would be on one of the fat bikes.
• 4:24
Oh, by the way, Sven, happy birthday to you. Oh. Mr. President. Yeah. That was, uh... Well, it's not the big one yet, so that... And I'm, you know, starting to count backwards now, I think. [laughs] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 4:36
Okay. So- It's just another day... It was happy Sven day- It was... on the Fourth of July. It was, uh, it was a decent day. Disposed with the other descriptors. Yeah. Weather hit rough at the end there, but...
• 4:46
[laughs] Enduring. Ish. Yeah. [laughs] Depends, depends on when you were out. Uh, early.
• 4:53
[laughs] A l- a little bit, a little bit later in the show when we reach the top of the hill, we'll partake of one of my birthday presents. Yee-haw. That is nice. We, uh,
• 5:03
we also did a practice lap of the Riverwest 24 on Tuesday. How'd that go? With great- Well, I-... with great, uh, Humboldt avoidance, I'll assume Yes.
• 5:12
[laughs] That was the plan is to see a good route that avoids Humboldt, and it was funny because I was talking to my neighbor, and Matt Baron rode up, and, uh, we rode to the start finish line.
• 5:24
He said, "Just so you know, I only expect it to be you and I." I said, "I'm totally okay with that." He's like, "All right." And we were shooting the bull, and we looked up, and here comes a whole group of riders.
• 5:37
Said and done, 41 people did a practice lap. Well, that's a pretty- Right the hell on... pretty good, uh, turnout. That's- That's a robust... Is it a weekly thing or a biweekly thing?
• 5:45
It's a Tuesday thing now- Tuesday thing... until the- Cool... until the, obviously, the big, the big deal. The big deal at the end of the month. That's the 30th and 31st? Far... 29th and 30th. 20- 30th. Yep. Bingo. Yeah.
• 5:56
  30th and 31st is Warsaw 24. There'll be a... Yes, yes. There'll be a, uh- That's the axe-y unpacked weekend of everything collecting on each other... There'll, there'll be a, a- Two-hour live podcast
• 6:10
for Full Spectrumish for the River West '24 Is that what we're doing for one of the bonus sh- Oh, shh. We can't. Shh I wasn't supposed to say that. I, I fucked that up.
• 6:18
Well, we could call it whatever we want, but, uh- It's a podcast, listeners. We're, nobody- Closer We're editing that out of the show Yeah, nobody's listening- You didn't hear that... anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
• 6:27
And plus, nobody knows where it is. See, this is it. Well, this is one they have to pan for gold. Yeah. You always leave these nuggets here. Yeah, there's, there's little treasure in every show.
• 6:33
But if anyone does wanna call me out, they could call 717- 727-2453. That spells bike. Oh. That's our call-in line to the call-in studio, uh- Caller... caller. You could call- Watch out for jacks...
• 6:47
while we're doing the show, or you can leave a message there even when we're not here. Right, right. Pretty sure. I don't know. People haven't done that for a little while. What we need is a call.
• 6:55
But they, but they could if they were so inclined. Right. I'm lonely. Come on. Yeah. So yeah, birthday, uh, une- uneventful in a good way.
• 7:06
[laughs] It start, it started out a little early and a little heavy, so I was home pretty early on Monday. Yes, yeah.
• 7:16
I just, I don't know why everybody feels like they just have to j- load you up with as many shots as... It's like, no, I'm, I don't think you know. And especially Malort, no. Yeah, no.
• 7:26
[laughs] But yeah, so- I think they're being- Yeah, I was a little slow rolling to get out, and I was... and you were just like, "Well, everyone seems to be cheers-ing me, so I don't know how long I can handle it here."
• 7:36
[laughs] Yeah, yeah. I'm just like, "Oh, shit." Who was canoeing there? Canoeing where? Like kayaking. When? I- It's your birthday, and there was someone posted a picture, "I'm on my way," and they were- Oh, I-...
• 7:46
kayaking... that's a good question. I think- That was, I think it was Zeto I think it was Zeto. It was Zeto threatening to stop or dock over at Harp and waddle over, but- Which I don't recall that he did do.
• 7:58
No, he didn't. Although I did see him today at The Door. Ah. Unbeknownst to me, he was at the bar, and I- I saw him last week. He said what's up... I was, I was, uh, uh,
• 8:08
as soon as I, like, step one foot in the door, they're like, "Oh, you wanna be outside?" I'm like, "Sure." I looked up. My number wasn't the sign-in number, so I didn't win anything.
• 8:17
I'm like, "Okay, I'll come back and sign in or whatever." Got my drink and my dog, and then, uh, as I'm finished, all of a sudden- Do you get anything as a side?... Zeto fly- flies out of the- [laughs]...
• 8:27
flies out of the door. I'm like, "Hey, dude, what's up?" Do you get a side generally, or no? Nope, nope. One dog, one dog, one drink, one water. I like it. I'm a simple man with- I like it...
• 8:39
they haven't specialized the dogs for a little bit, but when they do, it's pretty damn awesome. Well, we went- [laughs]... last week you were, you were at least making noises about not having a dog.
• 8:48
[laughs] Then the dog came anyway. Uh, what'd we do? What, we did something to the... Eh, I'll figure that out later.
• 9:03
So anyway, let's, let's push the button. [laughs] Hey, welcome to the radio program. Caller, who do we have on the line? This big sexy update is brought to you by Jagermeister. Yum, yum, Jagermeister.
• 9:19
It's my life, it's my wife, Jagermeister. [laughs] Nice. Have they ever sent you- How's it going, y'all? Good. Have, has Jagermeister ever sent you any, uh, sponsorship money? Or cease and desist orders?
• 9:33
[laughs] No, cease, no, no. No, but I, but I, but I- It's coming out of my mouth... but I don't, but I don't have the memories. Yeah. Good call. Good call. [laughs] So where are you calling us from? So how y'all doing?
• 9:45
We're doing well. I am, I am currently in Bloomington, Minnesota. Um, lot- It's right by the QBP mothership headquarters... yeah, well, lots has happened since I last talked to you guys. Uh,
• 9:59
the, we all know the wheel fell off- Yep... again, and I replaced the axle, and then my, uh, my drive sprocket, uh, decided that, that it wasn't, uh, it wasn't the way it was supposed to be.
• 10:14
So when I got, uh, I f- I got, I got a series of rides from, uh, Burlington, Iowa to La Crosse, Wisconsin. From La Crosse, Wisconsin slash Winona, Minnesota, I got a ride to my aunt's house,
• 10:29
and from my aunt's house my brother came and picked me up, and then I ordered a part, the drive sprocket from Schwinn. And the lady was one digit off,
• 10:38
and she sent me a different sprocket, so I had to wait another couple days, and then we got the drive sprocket, and me and my brother took, uh, took Heather apart oh-so-delicately, and we put her back together, and now she's running like a dream.
• 10:53
Nice. Excellent. How long are you gonna be in- Yeah, and, uh-... in, in the Minnesota, Minneapolis, Greater Minneapolis area there? Jud- judging by today's arguments, not very long. [laughs] Family squabbling?
• 11:07
Um, um, me, me... Uh, now don't get me wrong, me and my brother, we love each other very, very much, but we, we're j- we, we, we are not, uh, we are not roommate material. I'm up here to help him move, and it's, it's...
• 11:22
W- we're, we're getting shit done, but we're getting at each other's skin too, so it might not... Actually, I was gonna ask you when, uh, River West, uh, '24 is, 'cause that's not a [laughs] not a bad idea.
• 11:35
I can probably take off for a week. It's the 29th and 30th of July, so not very far away. Mm.
• 11:43
Not very far away, but far enough away that I could probably help my brother do a bunch of shit and then head, head for the hills.
• 11:52
'Cause also, um, I don't know if you guys know this or not, but I was planning on spending some time in Merrill, Wisconsin as well,
• 11:59
and, uh, uh, an, an atom- uh, Cher- Chernobyl, an atomic bomb happened in, uh, Merrill, so I'm not sure if I should go there at all. What, what happened there? Um, a death in the family. Oh.
• 12:16
A little several deaths in the family, and, uh, and, uh, people are just losing their minds out there. And, uh, I don't know, me and Heather are more of a positive mental attitude, uh, team here, you know?
• 12:29
We don't, we don't wanna go where the negativity is. I feel like that's a good plan- You know?... in the long run. Yeah. And so, uh, I don't know.
• 12:39
I mean, I'm, I'm, uh, I'm thinking maybe if I, uh, you know, help my brother as much as I can and head, head that way, maybe I get on that boat and visit my aunt, head down to Ohio, and then kinda
• 12:51
slide south into Florida. I don't, I don't know. I, it's, it's all up in the air right now. Yeah. It seems like this was a little more- But-...
• 12:58
of a fly by the seat of the pants, uh, version of your regular trip than one that was super planned out. Right. Right.
• 13:06
And well the, and, and, but, but the, the, the reason it's turned into a fly by the seat of my pants is because it's like, okay, well, we don't really wanna go to Maryland now, do we?
• 13:16
And we definitely wanna go to Milwaukee, but do I wanna be on the road for the whole year again? I don't know. I wanted to, I wanted to chill for the winter. I just wanted to like, you know,
• 13:27
get a part-time job and fucking start a podcast or something. [laughs] Well, you're on your- I really did. I, I'm- From what I can tell here, you're on your 57th call to our show. Oh, no kidding. Yeah. 57?
• 13:42
That's what it says, 57 total calls. All right. Uh- That's cool. I, I, I, I like that a lot. I think we, uh, we just reached the top of the hill, Tony. Tony grabbed a couple of our beers. This is, uh,
• 13:57
this is a beer that my family got me for my birthday, which was last Monday. Oh, yeah. The fourth of June. Happy birthday, Sven. He was born on the fourth of June.
• 14:08
And, uh, they, I, I guess they, she listens to this show, at least my wife does.
• 14:13
I don't know if the kids do, but, um, she heard us talking about Amorphic, which is our, uh, the brewery that's right across the parking lot from us, and- Love you... got a nice T-shirt. Right. Got, got some beers. Nice.
• 14:24
And I brought some for the boys, and we're drinking Fuzzy or Fluffy- Fluffy... Double Dry Hopped Fluffy Logic, which is one of, of my favorites that they do. Nice. Besides the, uh, y- Well, I'll tell you what, right...
• 14:40
Go ahead. I was gonna say, besides the Jagermeister, what are you, uh, you're, or what are you on for the, the libation? Ham, Hamm's. Hamm's. Hamm's. I just had one of them.
• 14:50
Thir- thir- 30 p- 30 pack was 14.99, and I, I mean, e- everything else just looks stupid. I, well, I'd be stupid if I bought that. Yep. Yep. Mm-hmm. I hear you. I just didn't want to carry 30 of them back.
• 15:03
Well, I'll- [laughs] You know what? We, we do know from experience, though, that the, the larger sized version of that, um, those, those guys are from Minneapolis, too. Banjo Brothers.
• 15:13
Banjo Brothers bag can carry a 30-pack. Yes, comfortably. And I think it was kinda designed around a 30-pack, actually. I think you can t- you can stack two- Right... technically. Oh, boy. Yep. That's, that's big.
• 15:24
Well- That's- I mean, I-... not ask, that's, no, that's not asking too much... I was, I remember, I remember back to my youth and it was, it was the only thing you could get in the 30-pack was Old Style. Mm-hmm.
• 15:36
Or Special Export. Which was the same thing. Special Export. Yeah. [laughs] Or is it? Oh, I don't know if it- They have the same beer... I, yeah, briefly. That was a long time ago. Special Export days. Oh. Ugh. Yeah.
• 15:49
[laughs] Well, you know, they say that your Hamm's and your Pabst are basically the same- Same beer... recipe, but they are prepared- Right... slightly differently in how they heat them and/or- They, they have to be...
• 15:59
Yeah. They do taste different. I can- Somewhat... I can tell the difference, 'cause I, I, I mean, like I l- l- literally, um, on 4th of July, I, um, decided to spend a little time away from my brother.
• 16:11
I just, uh, 'cause he wanted to sleep in and shit, so I w- I, I rode around to these different parks in Bloomington, Minnesota here. They're beautiful parks.
• 16:18
And, uh, I ended up getting, uh, six or some, uh, a 12-pack of 16 ounce PBRs, and I could tell, I could taste the difference immediately. Mm-hmm. I was like, "This isn't Hamm's." Mm-hmm. Yeah.
• 16:31
I sometimes wonder if that's how- But-... the, the beer is treated on its way to the place where you buy the beer, too. Did, uh, you know, did the truck, did it have the right temperature? True. Right.
• 16:40
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Right. But, uh- Coors always said their beers was- Right. Or, um, you gotta-... transported like that...
• 16:47
if, if you're, if you're, if you're drinking a canned beer and it tastes funny, look on the bottom of the can. There's a, there's an expiration date on it.
• 16:56
Even then, it has to be stored really poorly if it's in a can, 'cause the only thing that kills beer- Right... is, is sun, is, is- Yeah. Yeah. That's why- And, and a cap... Well, yeah, yeah...
• 17:07
that's why beer bottles are brown. You leave, you leave a- Except for- Yep. That's why beer bottles are brown...
• 17:11
you leave, you leave a case, you leave a case of PBR in the sun for three weeks and it's not gonna taste right. [laughs] Yeah.
• 17:19
There's some that'll argue it doesn't taste right from the get-go, but that's another story for another time. Right. Exactly. Well, uh, yeah. Well, I, um,
• 17:29
Sven, I was like, uh, somebody asked, uh, somebody came up to me at a gas station and, and said, uh, you know, they said, I was there digging all the stickers.
• 17:37
They're looking at all the stickers and all the key chains and everything I got on my bike, and they go, "Who's Sven?" I say, "One cool motherfucker." [laughs] Well, thank you for that.
• 17:48
And, and, and then, uh- You're one of the few people that think so, so thank you very much... right, right, right, right below you, on the very front of the bumper, is my boy Hollis. Hollis Murphy is a, a,
• 17:58
New Orleans horror punk rock, um, lead singer. He's, he's the lead singer of Fat Stupid Ugly People. There's a big picture, big little picture of his face that says, "That's what's up." Nice. Um- Hollis...
• 18:10
but, but it's the two, it's the two, the two men I admire most on my bumper, so there you go. Yeah. Wow. Well, it's high praise from Big Sexy. Well, I'll tell you what, man.
• 18:21
You, you, you, uh, every, every single time I've, uh, uh, every single time I've, I've talked to you, called you, or anything like that, it's always been a wonderful pleasure. And, uh, man, you know what?
• 18:32
I'm ki- I'm kinda thinking I might try to make Riverwest ha- uh, 24 happen because, I mean, he... And my brother w- wants to help move them, but, like, he's got this.
• 18:42
I'm w- w- I'm just there to, like, push mo- make sure he does it. Yeah. Right on. Does he have till the end of the month? So, uh, yeah. You said the 29th, is it? It is? Yep, the 29th, 30th.
• 18:55
Yep, Friday the 29th, so it starts at 7:30? 7:00. 7:00 PM on the 29th, and goes till 7:00 PM on the 30th.
• 19:03
And when I'm- [laughs] If I re- if I remember, or if, uh, JK or Tony remind me, I could possibly take a picture of the new palace that's on the property here that may support your sleeping habits for a couple of days.
• 19:15
[laughs] Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I will take a photo on that and send it to you. My, my... If we, if we remember last year, my sleeping habits, just like, I just like, I curled up on the sidewalk for a while.
• 19:27
[laughs] I try to remember some of that. I'm not even sure where I was. And, and, uh, Sven- Sven, you came out and you're like, "Hey, wheel your bike in here, and then, uh, you know, take a walk for a couple hours."
• 19:36
I'm like, "All right. Uh, where's Jimmy? Uh..." You know? [laughs] Yeah. Well, so, uh- It was a, it was a c- it was a crazy time... our, our friend, uh, James, picked up
• 19:47
s- by some hook or by crook sort of a story, a 27 1/2 foot travel trailer, fifth wheel travel trailer, which is now currently parked- Whoo... outside the shop door here. Mm-hmm. Yeah, so- Nice... and it's pretty nice.
• 20:03
It's got a couple of minor issues. Ooh. But really, for, for the song and dance he paid for it, it's beautiful. Well, I'll tell you what.
• 20:11
When I, when I visit my friends in Detroit, uh, in Wyandotte, Michigan, uh, my friend Carrie, uh, and her mom Kim are, are my, my basic friends. And of course I know dad, I know the kids, and all that.
• 20:23
But, um, when I go stay with Carrie, she's got this revamped mansion.
• 20:27
She's got this re- re- relin- r- renovated mansion right in downtown Wyandotte, uh, Michigan, and, uh, s- it's all beautiful and nice, and like super, like, crystal stuff and blah, blah, like chandeliers and stuff inside.
• 20:42
She, she says, "Hey, you're sleeping in the camper." I'm like, "Of course I am." [laughs] Hey, the, the, the, the, the cons scripts for you.
• 20:48
So the last thing you need is for me to wake up in the middle of the night and stub my toe and break something. Yeah. Right. For sure. Well, that sounds interesting. But yeah, I know.
• 20:58
We, we all have to remember that I, I, I sleep on, on, on, I sleep on picnic tables, if not worse. So anything would be just fine. Yeah.
• 21:08
When we, when we met you in Michigan the last time we, we saw you, you, uh, you got a, like a doorway that was a nice little spot there. Yeah, yeah.
• 21:17
Well, I mean, it, it started raining, so it was, uh, I, I, I- Classic... can't be on the sand anymore. No. And yeah, that w- [laughs] that was a good spot though, I thought. And, uh, yeah. Yeah.
• 21:28
But, but underneath there, dry as a bone almost. Yeah. I, I felt so bad, um, when you guys met me in, uh, in, uh, what, what was it? I can't remember what the name of the town was, but- Grand-... south of Muskegon.
• 21:40
I felt so bad- Grand Haven... I was so fucking wasted. Grand Haven. Yeah. I was, I was already, I was already blacked out drunk, so I really, really didn't get to enjoy that until we got across the lake.
• 21:50
[laughs] Oh, sweet heaven. Yeah. Well, we d- we did get in there kinda late, so you had a good head start on when we showed up there finally. Oh, yeah. It's actually- Anyway.
• 22:02
No, yeah, it's- I'm gonna say it's our plan to- Go ahead... go across the lake again on a different boat. There's still a coal powered boat called The Badger that goes between Manitowoc and Ludington, so north of where,
• 22:18
um, the Lake Express goes across. But our bud- Is, is that a-... our buddy Puck is trying to figure that out. Is that a similar price, or is it cheaper or cheaper? Mm, it's cheaper.
• 22:29
It's like, I think 129 round trip, and maybe another 11 for a bike or something. Something, something like that. With bikes. And that's a round trip too. But it's a, and it's a slow roll. It's a slow roll. Yeah.
• 22:38
But they have state rooms for like 50 bucks. I'm like, "State room, how you doing?" Yeah. Well, if I, if I, if I go across- You got a full bar too... the lake on a boat, I- Or a half bar...
• 22:47
if I go across the, if I go across the lake on a boat, I'm, I'm, it's a one way. Yeah. I don't, I... We could look into it. I'm not sure what it is.
• 22:55
But it is f- it's 90 miles north of Milwaukee, so it's not right out of- Oh, wow. That's a- It's not right out of our port, and it goes into Ludington, which is, it- The middle of nowhere...
• 23:04
kind of in the middle of nowhere on the coast up there, but- Well, a nice three-day- We're, we're gonna be head- Three days... we're heading north into the Sleeping Bear Dunes area allegedly, so. Ooh.
• 23:14
And, and one of the cool things I think about that boat is that it's, there is a, a sailing at like 1:30 in the morning. So you get on the boat- Ooh... and then you are on it for four and a half hours.
• 23:25
I don't know how the time change thing works, but, uh, you wake up- Sun's coming up... you wake up and it's like 6:00 AM in Michigan, and you're like, "Hey, greet that sun." [laughs] Hey. All right, let's crack a beer.
• 23:38
I, I'm with you. Oh, it's already cracked. All right. Crack. [laughs] So, so, so yeah, um- Try to get a- I'd say give me a week or two. Give me a week or two, I'll know if I'm coming for sure for the 24 or not.
• 23:54
All right. Yeah. Let us know. I mean, you're welcome, and it's obviously...
• 23:58
This year's gonna be, I think because it's different than past years and we're semi post pandemic, we're endemic now almost, not quite, but, um, that, that- Endemic... yeah, right?
• 24:11
That, um, all of the bonus checkpoints are open to anyone that wants to do them, which could be a lot of fun. Right. And a lot of people. And a lot of people. Right. Yeah. Yeah, so.
• 24:22
No, well, and, and, uh, um, I had such a blast, and I really felt like the people of the neighborhood, like, treated me like royalty. Like, people came up to me and was, "Oh, you must be Big Sexy and Heather."
• 24:33
I'm like, "Who the fuck are you?"
• 24:35
[laughs] Well- And, and, and, but it's like, it, it felt great that, that people, that people knew us by sight just because, you know, because of this and because of what we've been doing and shit.
• 24:44
And it, it was a really great, great feeling. Right on. Well, the kids'- And I want, the kids want to get-... the kids' tool at Tony's house is gonna get kinda smarmy, but [laughs] [sighs]
• 24:57
All right, Big Sexy- I felt so bad I didn't really get to spend a whole lot of time with Tony, but that's okay. We'll, we'll do it again. Um, either way, my wheels are gonna touch Milwaukee at some point. Right on.
• 25:07
Well, there you go. All right, brother. Well, yeah, um- Thank yous. Thank you for the call... y'all carry on. I'll, I'll ta- I'll talk to you in a couple weeks.
• 25:14
I'll probably give it a couple weeks before I call you, and then I'll, I'll let you know what my plans are. Sweet. Okay. All right, man. Peace. Arrivederci- All right, y'all have a good one... America. Arrivederci.
• 25:24
You know what I gotta say? Big Sexy is like America. He's a dream. Yeah? [laughs] Talk to you later, man. All right, take it easy. Out. Yep, bye. There you go, everybody, a little update from Big Sexy,
• 25:41
and a little plug for Jagermeister. There you go. Big plug for Jagermeister. Not a super Jagermeister fan personally. I can do it. I can do it. If I'm feeling- Well, I, I-...
• 25:50
a little under the weather and I wanna have a nipper- Yeah, I can tell you this-... that's, yeah... I'm not sure if I would do the Malort over the Jagermeister. Oh, no. Nah, I dunno.
• 25:59
I could do, I enjoy Jagermeister, but I really like Fernet if we're gonna move into that area. Yeah, you've kind of mentioned that in the past. I'm not sure how bright you are actually.
• 26:08
A Miller High Life with a Fernet back. Uh-huh. Speaking of Ludington- Oh, boy [laughs] A Miller High Life. That's where [laughs], that's where, that's where Tom Julio ended.
• 26:15
Oh, you're, you're, you're- No, that's where he ended up evacuating... you're really Frenching it up there, froggy boy. Hey. [laughs] I was only aping somebody else's crazy sentiments and...
• 26:26
[laughs] Hey, did you see that crazy thing lying on the floor in the shop? It's in the, the work area. The, the death trap? Yeah. Well, I, so I met Mister- Home wrecker?... I met Dave Puck.
• 26:37
Uh, how many l- how many names does he have now? A lot. I, I met him at- [laughs]... we had lunch yest- Hash- Hashtag Dave... well, on some day this week in the past, and he has this v- velocipede.
• 26:48
I'm not sure who makes it. The sticker says Surly, which obviously we know isn't- Yeah, which we know it's not-... real... 'cause it was JP's before it was Dave's. Yeah.
• 26:56
And the thing tried to kill him, so he said, "Just get this thing away from me," and he, and he brought it. But it's got basically a Coker-sized wheel, 36-inch wheel,
• 27:06
and Tony noticed today, which I, it's got a brake on the thing, and it also free-wheels. So I dunno how you can kill yourself on something that free-wheels and has a brake. I'm more thinking- Unless you're slinging a-...
• 27:17
you're going straight over the bars... unless you're slinging a 12-pack over your shoulder and your [laughs] balance gives out. Being a dumbass. [laughs] Oh, that's it? I didn't even see it. Oh. Oh, yeah.
• 27:27
It's not put together. The wheel's like- The front wheel's off of it. We gotta-... oh, got huge wheels...
• 27:30
yeah, and it also, I dunno, we gotta do some- the pedals aren't exactly at the 180 degree mark there, like- Oh, that's, that's good... 150 or something goofy... what could possibly go wrong? [laughs] Yeah.
• 27:39
I don't know if that's 'cause it got crashed or... But it's here and, uh, it- It took a good picture for two pictures, I think. Yeah. [laughs] And now it's here.
• 27:47
Well, he spent, he spent $40 on a big, huge stem that's about as tall as a giraffe's neck on the thing so that you could... 'Cause the way it was originally set up, basically the bars were on your nads- Mm-hmm...
• 28:00
when you're riding. This now is not quite that uncomfortable. That's how, that's, that's one style of penny-farthing- I know, but it's-... to steer with your waist... stupid. Yeah, it's weird.
• 28:09
Well, maybe it's waist steering. Yeah. Not wasted steering, Dave. Dave. [laughs] Puck. Misread that, dude. Doctor. Yeah, right? So- Professor... so we have that thing in the, uh, in the shop, and
• 28:24
I dunno, he says- Come buy it. He said- You guys need-... "Sell it if you want to." I go, "I dunno. Seems like we should try and kill a few other people with it first," but- He offered it to me for free.
• 28:33
That tells you something. That's how much it cost to- He wanted me to die... to get here. Yeah. That's how much it cost to get in the door so far. Yeah, he wanted to d- he wanted me to die, too. Thanks, Dave.
• 28:42
Um, so on the list of things, which because this is coming up in two weeks or a week from, a week from tomorrow or whatever- Yeah, yeah... what do they call the Red Bull flubal, flabby, taggy thing- Yeah...
• 28:54
where they have the rather suspect air- aircrafts that go off the- Flugtag or Flugtag... yeah, something like that. Flugtag. It's happening here in Milwaukee at Veterans Park. It looks like it's gonna be fun.
• 29:06
And speaking of people with stupid ideas who wanna hurt themselves, Dave's like, "How can we get in on this?" [laughs] Of course, he did. [laughs] Of course he did. I just, I, I, I, I dunno.
• 29:17
Well, unfortunately, we were a little late. Yeah.
• 29:20
But, you know, I've been flying airplane, real ones, and RC for years and years and years, and I thought, "Well, we should be able to do better than most of those other idiots out there."
• 29:29
I think the record is, like, 280 feet. Well, it's just, like- In flight... I don't know what the exact rules are, but it's mostly so you look like a foolish person- Right, of course... and get wet, right?
• 29:38
You better- What are the, what, what's the rest of the thing? You get... Well, you have to have a charity you're donating to. Um, and- The, the Sven Has a Bike Shop Fund. You know, uh, we, uh- [laughs] Um,
• 29:51
they have to be, like, recycled materials. Obviously they can't have any pollutants 'cause they're falling into Lake Michigan. Um, I, I can't remember the rest of them. I watched a little bit of them.
• 30:00
They're pretty entertaining. I'm not sure I wouldn't like to do the cardboard boat thing more, though. Yeah. Well, they, you could do that and fly that out with wings. Yeah.
• 30:09
Well, so some of the ones that they show in the advertisement for said event, uh, look semi-well thought out.
• 30:17
I think you're, you're gonna wanna construct it with your bamboo and such probably, 'cause you can't use carpet fiber, can you? Um, freedom.
• 30:24
Well, you probably could, but I don't think your- In it for that kind of money What, is there, like, a claim rule? Like, if yours goes further than someone...
• 30:30
Tony's watching a bug flying around There's, yeah, there's like a record. There's like- It's like a, just a gnat... a bug flying around. Um- Yeah, so if, um- There is a, there are records...
• 30:37
so if, if y- it's like a claim rule. Like, if, if it goes really far, you can buy it for 500 bucks, so don't spend too much on it. Something like that. There should be if there's not.
• 30:48
Uh, by Cracky, uh, Amorphic Fluffy Logic, uh, blabbity, blabbity, blah. That show is so good. Got some bikes over here. Bremen block party on the weekend.
• 30:55
Bremen- Ride your bike there because- Bremen Bron- Brock, Brock party tomorrow. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] Oh, God. Rest in peace, Brock. So speaking... Yeah.
• 31:02
Oh, yeah, the, uh, spirit of Brock is still, uh, affixed to the fencing outside the nut factory. Uh, who? BBC, baby. Oh, nice. All right. The big, big black sign. Oh, is it still out there?
• 31:13
[laughs] Oh, yeah, with the strap on. I thought it was red, white, and blue. Did it get- No, that was a different story. That was a Casey bring- Oh, okay...
• 31:19
I think that was, that was a, that was a Water Street Casey experience. Gotcha. Well, I did see that thing, too. The strap on is, the strap's on. I don't know if you're supposed to back into it or what.
• 31:29
Is it just, what's it there for? No, it's, it's, it's, it's like camouflaged. It's like a Where's Waldo thing. What are those deer? There's like seven deer that live in that little zone. Exactly.
• 31:37
So yeah, they're- What are they? It's like a salt- They're jingling the keys, distracting you from seeing... it's like a salt lick. Yeah, it's a salt lick for them.
• 31:42
[laughs] I can't count the times I've seen deer riding backwards on their bike. Well, that's why they get on the other side of the, like, on the trees. You've seen deer riding your bike?
• 31:49
Well, yeah, those bastards, they keep taking my bike. [laughs] Stupid deer. Well, not so stupid if they're riding your Bianchi, though. Exactly. Anyway, all right, everyone. You know what?
• 31:58
We did- I guess we did it again. She's married now, by the way. Whoops. Yep. Bye. [upbeat music]
