- 0:00Speaker 1: Attos Hi, Brad Dune. Just how you doing today? Good
- 0:02Speaker 1: morning Tom, I'm doing great. Good morning friends out there. Yeah,
- 0:05Speaker 1: we had a little bit of sunshine. I bet we
- 0:07Speaker 1: have some more later. We got some liquid sunshine in between. Yeah.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Oh, it's great to have those showers in August and
- 0:13Speaker 2: it's very rare.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Thankful for that.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good. I'm keeping a little green a little
- 0:19Speaker 2: longer here for us as we head into fall. The
- 0:21Speaker 2: first day of school today, we're Bartersville Public Schools. Lots
- 0:26Speaker 2: of stuff going on around town. We've got, as we
- 0:29Speaker 2: featured last week on the show, Tyler Glenn and the
- 0:32Speaker 2: Red Dirt Rubs are having their sixth annual Red Dirt
- 0:34Speaker 2: Weekend this weekend, and got Cizzland's summer series with the
- 0:39Speaker 2: family Movie Night Tomorrow night with the Goonies for free
- 0:42Speaker 2: downtown at the on the lawn at the.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Unity Square. It'd be a great night out there.
- 0:49Speaker 2: If the storms hold off for them, and I think
- 0:52Speaker 2: we'll hopefully be all right.
- 0:54Speaker 1: You just got to scowed away. My guest today is Autumn.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I'll have from Dungeons Toyota. Say hello Autumn.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Glad to be here. Thank you for having me.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Great, well, I'm glad you're here today.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I'm going to hear about what's been going on in
- 1:07Speaker 2: the Toyota service department and everything. It's a busy time
- 1:11Speaker 2: of year and the car dealership, isn't it.
- 1:13Speaker 4: It is a busy time of year, especially being back
- 1:15Speaker 4: to school, college students going off, parents wanting to get
- 1:18Speaker 4: their kids ready to go back.
- 1:19Speaker 3: To school, and making sure their cars, their Toyotas are good.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Their transition times are really critical and those those kids,
- 1:26Speaker 2: I know it. Toyota is a Yeah, that's what my
- 1:29Speaker 2: kids going off to school drive in and we're going
- 1:31Speaker 2: off to soccer. It's so great to have a car
- 1:33Speaker 2: you can depend on like that. Absolutely, it's they're great
- 1:37Speaker 2: to work on and good, great vehicles. But the heat
- 1:41Speaker 2: affects them too, doesn't it. Every vehicle is affected by
- 1:45Speaker 2: the heat.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Oh, absolutely, you know, as long as you you got
- 1:48Speaker 4: to keep up with their their maintenance, their fluids, I
- 1:52Speaker 4: mean all year round though.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I mean you should be taking care of your vehicle
- 1:55Speaker 3: heat cold.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the extremes really, or what we're faced with
- 1:59Speaker 2: here in oc Home from over one hundred degrees to
- 2:02Speaker 2: below zero, so it's quite a range.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Well, there's so much other stuff going on out at
- 2:10Speaker 2: the dealership. We've got the summer sales event going on.
- 2:13Speaker 2: On Ford side, we got our first brand new twenty
- 2:16Speaker 2: twenty five Explorer in this last week or so, and
- 2:21Speaker 2: it's a beautiful kind of a off blue, kind of
- 2:26Speaker 2: grayish blue. Really pretty though and a little bit. It's
- 2:30Speaker 2: a brand new Explorer. I've been redesigned this year, so
- 2:35Speaker 2: you want to come check that out. It's highly anticipated
- 2:38Speaker 2: and be a very popular vehicle for us out there.
- 2:41Speaker 2: On the Toyota side, we've got another land Cruiser in.
- 2:46Speaker 2: It's kind of a cool underground is a kind of
- 2:50Speaker 2: a gray color that's really really nice.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And just yesterday we.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Got an underground wrap Forerunner Blackout Package TRD off Road Edition,
- 3:03Speaker 2: great looking Forerunner, so you can take your compare the
- 3:06Speaker 2: two and really see where Toyota's going with their great
- 3:10Speaker 2: SUVs right now.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And really excited about that, lankers Or.
- 3:15Speaker 2: There's been a lot of anticipation for it and they're
- 3:17Speaker 2: finally starting to get out there in the market, and
- 3:20Speaker 2: I think our inventory is going to keep building the
- 3:22Speaker 2: sure popular. And we've also got a Venza in stock,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and got another Tacoma in we've got a good selection
- 3:32Speaker 2: right now. I've used tacomas as well as the one
- 3:35Speaker 2: new one that's on the ground, and then there are
- 3:37Speaker 2: five more that should be here in the next couple
- 3:39Speaker 2: of weeks.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So wow, that's kind of how it works in Toyota.
- 3:43Speaker 2: You know, I sit there in my office off the
- 3:46Speaker 2: Toyota showroom, and often I can I hear the salesman
- 3:49Speaker 2: working with the team with the customers and where's the
- 3:52Speaker 2: I want to wrap forward to drive and you know
- 3:54Speaker 2: there's we might have one on the lot. Probably three
- 3:58Speaker 2: or four times a month. They show up up, two
- 4:00Speaker 2: or three of them, but they go so quickly that
- 4:02Speaker 2: they're just not there on the line. So show them
- 4:06Speaker 2: the pipeline, show it how it works. It's really hard,
- 4:10Speaker 2: you know, sometimes hard to imagine how how quickly they move.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But reach out to the team and they can help
- 4:16Speaker 2: connect you with one of those vehicles if there's something
- 4:18Speaker 2: you're looking for. So other stuff going on right now.
- 4:24Speaker 2: We've got right now on F one fifties, there's some
- 4:27Speaker 2: really great deals. They're from five thousand to seventy seven
- 4:32Speaker 2: fifty off with all the rebates and dunge just discounts applied.
- 4:36Speaker 1: So that's that's just a huge discount.
- 4:38Speaker 2: That's like back a few years ago when we had
- 4:41Speaker 2: the big rebates and incentives. There's great interest rates right
- 4:44Speaker 2: now too. Manufacturers have some with zero percent and lots
- 4:48Speaker 2: of low interest rates that can really help you get
- 4:51Speaker 2: to that payment you're looking for. We're also seeing more
- 4:55Speaker 2: and more customers considering leasing. It's a you know, it's
- 4:59Speaker 2: a little different. We don't lease a lot of vehicles
- 5:02Speaker 2: here in Oklahoma, but in some parts of the country, virtually,
- 5:05Speaker 2: you know, virtually all the vehicles are leased. I mean,
- 5:09Speaker 2: over seventy or eighty percent of the vehicles in some markets.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I know friends that have other dealerships, and you know,
- 5:16Speaker 2: places like New York and Michigan and a lot of
- 5:19Speaker 2: the those kinds of markets, A lot of people least.
- 5:23Speaker 2: And the reason they do that is.
- 5:25Speaker 1: That you're really only buying part of the car, kind
- 5:27Speaker 1: of buying half a car.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And in the front half and the and the and
- 5:34Speaker 2: then lease are then is responsible for any anything that
- 5:38Speaker 2: goes after that. So say you buy the first three
- 5:40Speaker 2: years and thirty six thousand miles and on a you know,
- 5:44Speaker 2: on a seventy two month loan. After three years, you
- 5:47Speaker 2: might still not have equity in the vehicle. You might
- 5:50Speaker 2: actually owe more than than your loan if you spread
- 5:53Speaker 2: the loan out that far.
- 5:55Speaker 1: This At this point, you've got a choice. You can
- 5:57Speaker 1: give that vehicle back to the to the l leaser,
- 6:01Speaker 1: or if you have equity in the vehicle.
- 6:02Speaker 2: You can actually buy it and trade it in or
- 6:05Speaker 2: resell it yourself, however you want to do that and
- 6:08Speaker 2: capture that that equity you have in the vehicle is
- 6:11Speaker 2: as actually as cash or you know, to help you
- 6:14Speaker 2: buy your next vehicle. And that way you're never out
- 6:18Speaker 2: of equity, as we say, and you're also sure to
- 6:23Speaker 2: have a new car every three years.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Kind of a cool way to buy. And the police payments.
- 6:29Speaker 2: As an example right now, on a little Toyota Corolla,
- 6:34Speaker 2: you can get as low as two twenty nine a
- 6:36Speaker 2: month for thirty six months. I was mentioned in the Tacoma,
- 6:39Speaker 2: so you can get a four x two double cab Tacoma.
- 6:43Speaker 2: It's a SR five four x two double cab for
- 6:46Speaker 2: just two ninety nine a month for thirty six months.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And that's with thirty nine ninety nine do it signing.
- 6:51Speaker 2: So there's a little bit of money out of pocket
- 6:53Speaker 2: up front, but that great lease payment. If you add
- 6:56Speaker 2: it up, you really are only paying for half the car.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Pretty cool. Well let's get back to autum. I know
- 7:05Speaker 2: you've been working at the viewership now almost three years,
- 7:07Speaker 2: I think, or around three years.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Just celebrated three years.
- 7:10Speaker 1: How's that going. It's an interesting position, isn't it.
- 7:14Speaker 4: It is an interesting position. But I've over the course
- 7:17Speaker 4: of three years, I've built up relationships with these customers,
- 7:21Speaker 4: you know, coming in and I know what you know,
- 7:24Speaker 4: how's your kids, how you've been you know, I know
- 7:27Speaker 4: them more on a personal level because they're so regular.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And just just being there.
- 7:32Speaker 1: What do you like most about your job?
- 7:36Speaker 3: Build building the customers trust?
- 7:39Speaker 4: You know? They a lot of the customers come to
- 7:41Speaker 4: me because I've just been there so so long now
- 7:45Speaker 4: that they it's a familiar face. So I like getting
- 7:48Speaker 4: to know them, and you know, taking care of their
- 7:50Speaker 4: vehicle because vehicles are like children, you know, so you
- 7:53Speaker 4: got to you got to take care of them.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And just having that trust with those people is my
- 7:57Speaker 3: favorite favorite thing.
- 8:00Speaker 1: What have you done before in your career?
- 8:03Speaker 4: Well, I went to cosmetology school and I did nails
- 8:07Speaker 4: for a long time, so I'm pretty pretty familiar with
- 8:10Speaker 4: working with people and one on one with people, So I.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I don't know. I feel like I always.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Asked that question because so many people end up in
- 8:20Speaker 2: the car business from different paths of life.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Definitely a change. It's way different than doing nails coming
- 8:26Speaker 3: into cars. A lot of people ask me how I
- 8:28Speaker 3: made that switch.
- 8:29Speaker 4: But I've always liked cars, so just being able to
- 8:33Speaker 4: get into the industry and now I don't want to leave.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I love the car industry. So I'm just learning more
- 8:38Speaker 3: every day.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Nice. Well, you get to you know, you get to
- 8:41Speaker 1: deal with the vehicles and with people, and so it
- 8:44Speaker 1: is really dynamic and.
- 8:45Speaker 3: It's never boring, that's for sure, never boring. It's a
- 8:47Speaker 3: different day every day.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:49Speaker 5: You know, You've had people come in from even the
- 8:51Speaker 5: medical field to the automotive industry and just said, wow, this.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Is this is where I'm doing it.
- 8:57Speaker 2: This is one of the great things about the car business.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And you know, thinking back to when my grandfather and
- 9:02Speaker 2: his brothers were you know, just kids in Tonkaha, Oklahoma,
- 9:05Speaker 2: and went to work at the Ford dealership there, it
- 9:09Speaker 2: was you know, just the start and you know, they
- 9:11Speaker 2: were working in the parts department, like my son body
- 9:14Speaker 2: did this last summer, and you know, you you just
- 9:19Speaker 2: it's one of those things that there's a place for
- 9:21Speaker 2: almost everybody in any role. I mean we see people
- 9:25Speaker 2: with you know, advanced degrees. I've had engineers that were
- 9:29Speaker 2: worked in sales. I've had people that you know, didn't
- 9:32Speaker 2: finish high school. They were really great mechanics or car
- 9:36Speaker 2: salesman work in the office and you just you just
- 9:39Speaker 2: never know. It's you start learning and get and get
- 9:43Speaker 2: a little bit of a of inspiration and it really does.
- 9:48Speaker 2: The business kind of takes you.
- 9:49Speaker 1: And here we are.
- 9:50Speaker 2: You know, we've been in a totally for total like
- 9:53Speaker 2: about ninety five years now in our family. All the
- 9:56Speaker 2: good yeah, and so a lot of it is.
- 9:57Speaker 1: All about, you know, helping people get star and you
- 10:00Speaker 1: know that's one of the things I love to do.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And you know, I know, you know, we keep I
- 10:05Speaker 2: keep hearing from people asking questions about the transition. We
- 10:08Speaker 2: announced a few weeks ago where we are going to
- 10:11Speaker 2: sell the Forward Store to the Bill Night Automotive Group.
- 10:14Speaker 2: We're working on that process now. Bill and his team
- 10:17Speaker 2: were up yesterday and meeting with some of our team.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You know, I really want to reinforce with their buddy.
- 10:22Speaker 2: We're not going away, We're not closing or anything. This
- 10:25Speaker 2: is more of an alliance with Bill. You know, our
- 10:28Speaker 2: industry is changing dramatically, I think, you know, it's it
- 10:32Speaker 2: is harder and harder to be a small dealer, a
- 10:34Speaker 2: family owned business that works in one market and doesn't
- 10:38Speaker 2: really you know, I don't have aspirations to go out
- 10:41Speaker 2: and buy dozens of dealerships and and you know, I'm
- 10:45Speaker 2: not at that point in my life, and I want
- 10:47Speaker 2: to take care of what we have and our customers
- 10:49Speaker 2: and their employees, and and I just believe this is
- 10:52Speaker 2: going to be a great opportunity to do that.
- 10:54Speaker 1: That Toyota brand is is really predictable.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I think they have a great plan for over the
- 11:00Speaker 2: next few years transitioning through hybrid to electric vehicles and
- 11:04Speaker 2: other power trains that that will make it really a
- 11:08Speaker 2: great brand to have and and not to disparage anything
- 11:11Speaker 2: about for it, it's just a little bit different they do.
- 11:14Speaker 2: You know, have have a more complicated path ahead a
- 11:18Speaker 2: little bit with all the big trucks and stuff that
- 11:21Speaker 2: they sell and the need to sell electric vehicles to
- 11:24Speaker 2: kind of balance that out with the cafe rules that
- 11:27Speaker 2: are facing all the car makers, and I just think
- 11:31Speaker 2: that that it'll be easier to navigate as a smaller dealer.
- 11:35Speaker 2: And we love the Toyota.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Brand, and you know, and I've kind of hand.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Picked the buyer for Ford. I believe he's a great dealer.
- 11:43Speaker 2: He's a good friend of mine. I've known since the
- 11:46Speaker 2: since the late nineties. You know, a lot of the
- 11:49Speaker 2: people when Bill and I worked together at the Tulsa
- 11:52Speaker 2: Auto Collection, A lot of the people that worked for
- 11:54Speaker 2: him today I worked with back then.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And you know, he's a family man. It's a family
- 12:01Speaker 1: owned business.
- 12:01Speaker 2: His son Ryan is there is his chief operating officer,
- 12:06Speaker 2: and his son in laws his chief financial officers.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So you know, they they're bigger. They have more scale,
- 12:12Speaker 1: that more inventory.
- 12:14Speaker 2: That's a hard thing in our world when when you know,
- 12:17Speaker 2: I know, people always ask, well, why don't you have
- 12:21Speaker 2: all the cars? You know, we get we take everyone
- 12:24Speaker 2: that's offered to us, and we well, we try to
- 12:26Speaker 2: get everything we can. But when you're a small dealer,
- 12:29Speaker 2: you just can't have hundreds and and a full selection.
- 12:32Speaker 2: So we do have to go to that extra effort
- 12:34Speaker 2: to go get the car for somebody. But don't let
- 12:37Speaker 2: our smaller inventory in fact, your decision. It's so critical.
- 12:41Speaker 2: We you know, we keep keep going right up to
- 12:44Speaker 2: the day that we transition and over to Bill Knight
- 12:47Speaker 2: on Forward, and we keep servicing our customers uh right
- 12:51Speaker 2: up there through that, and it will be a seamless transition,
- 12:56Speaker 2: uh to the Bill Knight group. And I know they
- 12:58Speaker 2: have big plans for the for the market and to
- 13:01Speaker 2: renovate the Forward store and build and do some you know,
- 13:05Speaker 2: some real exciting stuff and and uh, you know, we
- 13:08Speaker 2: plan to ride their coattails a little bit.
- 13:11Speaker 5: And and.
- 13:14Speaker 2: With great teammates like like Autumn here and and the
- 13:17Speaker 2: toyleta brand I know will be successful going forward.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And you know, I just don't you know, I've heard that,
- 13:23Speaker 1: you know, other dealers might be.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Telling people we're closing or something like that. And I
- 13:27Speaker 2: just don't want people to know, to not know the facts.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Come talk to me about it if you want to.
- 13:33Speaker 2: You know, I'm there on the showroom every day.
- 13:37Speaker 1: So that's it.
- 13:38Speaker 2: We plan to keep growing and serving our customers and
- 13:41Speaker 2: really believe in what we're doing and our people, and
- 13:45Speaker 2: you know, take that great pride in our you know,
- 13:47Speaker 2: our simple price, our market based pricing, you know, really
- 13:51Speaker 2: transmit parent sales processes. You know our you know, in
- 13:55Speaker 2: sales we do have totally different kinds of pay plans
- 13:58Speaker 2: than a lot of the other dealers. We don't pay
- 14:00Speaker 2: on commission, So no matter what we make when we
- 14:03Speaker 2: sell a car, our salespeople's primary goal is to take
- 14:07Speaker 2: care of the customer and make sure you're satisfied and
- 14:10Speaker 2: get the very best purchase experience. And it doesn't mean
- 14:14Speaker 2: we don't want to make a profit. Of course, we
- 14:15Speaker 2: have to make a profit, but we're will transparent about it.
- 14:18Speaker 2: We really use third party tools to validate everything. You know,
- 14:23Speaker 2: I've seen I do a lot of market comparisons on
- 14:28Speaker 2: our pricing, and so I do look at a lot
- 14:30Speaker 2: of other dealers websites and a lot of them are,
- 14:33Speaker 2: you know, continue to play games and how they price,
- 14:36Speaker 2: and I don't want to disparage them. But the truth is,
- 14:39Speaker 2: you know, if you make up a retail price and
- 14:41Speaker 2: it's not real and you say you've discounted the car,
- 14:45Speaker 2: I can't. It's hard to I mean it's easy to
- 14:49Speaker 2: show that it's not. I mean, look at the book
- 14:51Speaker 2: or look at there's so many ways out there, whether
- 14:54Speaker 2: it's through auto trader or car Gurus or KBB or
- 14:59Speaker 2: you know JDP, our Black Book, they all have valuation.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Resours and we and we use them every day.
- 15:05Speaker 2: So we will turn that screen around and help you
- 15:08Speaker 2: understand how we arrive at our pricing, how we evaluate
- 15:12Speaker 2: your trade. All everything, or all the way through the
- 15:15Speaker 2: finance process is very transparent and really.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Meant to help you, you know.
- 15:20Speaker 2: We. I think a lot of people too are these days,
- 15:23Speaker 2: are hearing that maybe it's better not to finance at
- 15:26Speaker 2: the dealership. And you know, I don't know that that's
- 15:30Speaker 2: necessarily true. There's you know, certainly times when when you
- 15:34Speaker 2: want to shop around perpetual on about anything, right, you know,
- 15:37Speaker 2: on a pay twice as much as you should for
- 15:39Speaker 2: a loaf of bread or for anything. But the truth is,
- 15:44Speaker 2: you know, dealership, So we have dozens of lenders we
- 15:48Speaker 2: work with, and we we specialize in in loans for cars,
- 15:53Speaker 2: and you know, so that we're really experts at that.
- 15:56Speaker 2: We have the manufacturer incentives and those rates. We we
- 16:01Speaker 2: work with big national banks and local regional banks and
- 16:05Speaker 2: local really small banks and credit unions and uh, you know,
- 16:09Speaker 2: so it allows us to have a full spectrum of
- 16:11Speaker 2: lending options for our customers and really help you get
- 16:15Speaker 2: that best deal. I think choice in how you structure
- 16:18Speaker 2: alone the lenders, uh, everything from you know how how
- 16:24Speaker 2: you know.
- 16:24Speaker 1: The rate is set to the term of the loan,
- 16:27Speaker 1: mentioned the leasing option.
- 16:30Speaker 2: So those are all things we can work with you
- 16:33Speaker 2: on and and I really think done well, it's a
- 16:36Speaker 2: it's a great way to buy a car. You you know,
- 16:39Speaker 2: you also you don't want to have all your eggs
- 16:41Speaker 2: in one basket, right say, And you know it kind
- 16:44Speaker 2: of helps you spread out your your lending spectrum so
- 16:48Speaker 2: that you've got you're building.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Your credit or you're you know, or you have great credit.
- 16:53Speaker 2: The truth is having that that's that a full spectrum
- 16:57Speaker 2: and it does help you your credit and then keep
- 17:01Speaker 2: your great credits score. Sometime company credit is lower, it
- 17:07Speaker 2: can be yeah, no, and you know that's what we
- 17:11Speaker 2: do is really help you work through that. And we
- 17:13Speaker 2: have tools on our website where you can you can
- 17:16Speaker 2: do all of that and really get great information then
- 17:19Speaker 2: and then we take it up right from where you
- 17:22Speaker 2: left off on the website and and on the showroom
- 17:25Speaker 2: and take it from there.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And that also really helps speed up the cardial.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Make it simple and easy to buy about a half hour,
- 17:32Speaker 2: and you know, we keep trying. And that's a big
- 17:37Speaker 2: deal in service too, of course, is you know, time
- 17:40Speaker 2: is one of those things that people always worry about,
- 17:43Speaker 2: and you know, you guys offer a lot of different
- 17:46Speaker 2: ways for people to schedule their service and you know,
- 17:49Speaker 2: keep them informed through the process of servicing and all that.
- 17:52Speaker 4: So absolutely keeping up with them scheduling their maintenance, you know,
- 17:57Speaker 4: and if they don't want to wait at the dealer,
- 17:58Speaker 4: you know, getting them getting them shuttled home, or helping
- 18:01Speaker 4: them get to where they need to go, getting them
- 18:03Speaker 4: to work. You know, there's always an option to help
- 18:06Speaker 4: the customer and get them where they need to go
- 18:08Speaker 4: while we've got some time with the vehicle to get
- 18:10Speaker 4: to get their vehicle ready to get back up on
- 18:12Speaker 4: their road.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I heard something about you. I want to ask
- 18:16Speaker 2: about kayaking. I heard you've become interested in kayak.
- 18:20Speaker 4: I do.
- 18:20Speaker 2: I go.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I go kayaking quite a bit every time I can
- 18:23Speaker 4: get out when I don't have.
- 18:24Speaker 3: The kids, let's go.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I like to go out to Tahaqua or sometimes I'll
- 18:29Speaker 4: just go out to Hudson out here in Kayak Hudson.
- 18:32Speaker 2: If you would go out there. I've been going out
- 18:34Speaker 2: there for the mountain bike trail. They build a really
- 18:36Speaker 2: cool mountain bike trail.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Out there, clear really nice.
- 18:39Speaker 2: It's really if anybody is listening out there and has
- 18:43Speaker 2: a mountain bike. They're really fun trails. A couple of
- 18:45Speaker 2: them are pretty difficult, and you know, there's maps you
- 18:48Speaker 2: can get online if you want to stake it out.
- 18:51Speaker 2: And you know, I've been going out there when the
- 18:53Speaker 2: weather's right on a Saturday or Sunday morning, and it's
- 18:56Speaker 2: really fun. It's pretty lake so so the kayaking is
- 19:02Speaker 2: as fun.
- 19:02Speaker 4: I bet kayaking's fun. I like to go fishing, so
- 19:06Speaker 4: I'll take the fire go fishing all the time. Just
- 19:09Speaker 4: want to get free time.
- 19:10Speaker 1: That's good, awesome. Well, there's some other great events going on.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I had, you know, Brenda Williamson, we was on here
- 19:20Speaker 2: a few weeks ago talking about the Empty Bowls Taste
- 19:24Speaker 2: of Barsool fundraiser for agape Mission.
- 19:28Speaker 1: It's a fundraiser for the on site meal and Food
- 19:30Speaker 1: for Kids program that goes on all through the year.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It's a great lunchtime event coming up on August twenty seventh.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Brenda wanted me to remind everybody here we go we
- 19:42Speaker 1: did I bring it. I'm certain I did, but I
- 19:44Speaker 1: have too many pieces of paper. Okay, Yeah, they've got a.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Special raffle coming that they're gonna what she mentioned this
- 19:51Speaker 2: it might be a silent auction item, but they're actually
- 19:53Speaker 2: turned it into a raffle. It's a Pioneer Woman package.
- 19:58Speaker 2: This is a private dinner for two, custom created by
- 20:02Speaker 2: the mercantele chefs over in Pahusca, a weekend stay for
- 20:05Speaker 2: two at the boarding house, and a Pioneer Woman specially
- 20:09Speaker 2: curated gift basket with one hundred dollars gift card to
- 20:12Speaker 2: the mercanteal And you can buy raffle tickets at the
- 20:15Speaker 2: event on August twenty seventh for twenty five dollars or
- 20:19Speaker 2: get five for one hundred.
- 20:21Speaker 1: So really a cool.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Prize, and I know people will want to get some
- 20:26Speaker 2: tickets to have a chance to win that.
- 20:28Speaker 1: The event itself is so fun. Have you been to
- 20:31Speaker 1: that event Autumn?
- 20:32Speaker 2: I get you actually get a hand crafted bowl made
- 20:36Speaker 2: locally by a local artist, and then you get to
- 20:41Speaker 2: sample so many local restaurants. Most of the local restaurants
- 20:45Speaker 2: forty about forty are represented out there during lunchtime, so
- 20:49Speaker 2: you kind of take your bowl from place to place
- 20:51Speaker 2: and get to see what's out there in our community
- 20:54Speaker 2: and get yeah, that most people do.
- 21:00Speaker 1: But it's a great.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Event that's coming up on Tuesday, August twenty seventh, and
- 21:05Speaker 2: I'm sure you can get information about that on either
- 21:08Speaker 2: a Goatpia Mission website, Facebook page, stuff like that. We've
- 21:12Speaker 2: also got a couple of events coming up that Saturday
- 21:16Speaker 2: before the twenty seventh. On the August twenty fourth is
- 21:20Speaker 2: the Sutton Avian Research Center's Wild bruin Tulsa, which is
- 21:24Speaker 2: a great event.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Of course.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Sutton Research Center, just outside of town here is a
- 21:30Speaker 2: great organization that we've worked with for a long time.
- 21:34Speaker 2: As you know, I've known him back since I worked
- 21:36Speaker 2: with the Nature Conservancy back in the late eighties and
- 21:40Speaker 2: we were creating the Taugrass Prairie Preserve. I got to
- 21:43Speaker 2: know Steve shared then a lot of the board members
- 21:46Speaker 2: we had on the Nature Conservancy were also on the
- 21:48Speaker 2: Sutton Avian Research Board. And you know, it's so sad
- 21:52Speaker 2: and we'll all be remembering Steve. He passed earlier this year.
- 21:55Speaker 2: But he was a great friend of our, of mine
- 21:57Speaker 2: and a great customer of the dealership and Sudden ab
- 22:01Speaker 2: and Research centers always driven toyotas, so that's proud of that.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But we'll be.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Remembering Steve and do want to make sure they have
- 22:11Speaker 2: a really successful while brew for all their great, great
- 22:14Speaker 2: work around here in saving our birds. And you know,
- 22:19Speaker 2: I was talking to Bruce. We have a nest out
- 22:22Speaker 2: on our ranch, Eagle Mest and he's seen them getting
- 22:28Speaker 2: ready for hatchlings and several broods come out of this
- 22:33Speaker 2: nest and you know, I know in some way that's
- 22:35Speaker 2: related to Steve's work, and that's pretty cool. Also that
- 22:40Speaker 2: night is the Samaritan Counseling Sports Spectacular here in barswill
- 22:44Speaker 2: another great event that is and they do such important
- 22:49Speaker 2: work here in barswell, helping people and making their services
- 22:53Speaker 2: accessible to people that may or may not be able
- 22:56Speaker 2: to afford it.
- 22:58Speaker 1: But you want to check that out.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Anything you can do to help Samaritan Counseling or sut
- 23:02Speaker 2: Navian Research Center great organizations in our community that do
- 23:06Speaker 2: so much great work. And you know, we're getting ready
- 23:10Speaker 2: to enter the big fall season where we have so
- 23:13Speaker 2: many events and you know, the fairs, everything, sporting events.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I did run across one.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I don't know this.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I thought you might be interested in this autumn. But
- 23:24Speaker 2: the sky Trail Adventure Challenge, now that is interesting if
- 23:28Speaker 2: you folks haven't heard about this. This starts out at
- 23:33Speaker 2: osh Hill State Park. You run the two three miles
- 23:36Speaker 2: to Camp McClinton, which is the scout camp there, which
- 23:41Speaker 2: is got great trails and all around, and then you
- 23:44Speaker 2: gear up and ascend the twenty five forty four foot
- 23:47Speaker 2: climbing tower and then you zip line across Santon Creek
- 23:52Speaker 2: and then you mostly run except for on the suspension
- 23:55Speaker 2: bridge another half mile and then you kayak. Why I
- 24:00Speaker 2: thought you might like it, zero point seven miles up
- 24:03Speaker 2: out and back on the creek, and then you return
- 24:05Speaker 2: to the trail and a two six point six mile
- 24:09Speaker 2: run back to o Shill State Park, so you really.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Get a lot of nature.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Then this is not for the faint of heart or
- 24:19Speaker 2: for the unprepared. So at September fourteenth out of Oshill
- 24:24Speaker 2: State Park. You can get information on that at the
- 24:26Speaker 2: chamber website or that's where I found it on the
- 24:30Speaker 2: community events in calendar.
- 24:32Speaker 5: You know, so far they have seventy two participants and
- 24:34Speaker 5: that's a three hundred increase over. Yeah, and he did
- 24:38Speaker 5: the inaugural one.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Wow, that's awesome. Well, that that's amazing. The Yeah, you
- 24:44Speaker 2: only have a month left to be ready, so you
- 24:47Speaker 2: want to be preparing for that and starting my regimen.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Be real tired.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I know that's that sounds like quite a quite
- 24:57Speaker 2: an adventure.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta do. I doubt it.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I don't know if they if they'd rather ride the
- 25:05Speaker 2: bike than run anymore. I have been ziplining. Yeah, that's
- 25:09Speaker 2: a blast. Yeah, I like to zipline. That's good. You
- 25:13Speaker 2: have agent weight requirements, right, I think you'd be all right, Tom,
- 25:18Speaker 2: it gets you strapped in.
- 25:20Speaker 1: It's just it's more of a take a deep breath
- 25:23Speaker 1: and just kind of hang on. It's really cool.
