- 0:22Speaker 4: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 0:57Speaker 5: Some girls like blondes, some like muscles, and I like virgins.
- 1:05Speaker 2: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I am Brian.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I'm Greg. I'm Jay.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I'm Misty.
- 1:12Speaker 6: I'm Marlena.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Alright, so we'll kick it off. I'm like Misty. I'm Greg.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Now you're just copying. I never do anything like that.
- 1:25Speaker 2: You owe me a tiger.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Coat.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I haven't jinxed anybody since junior high school. Good God.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Alright, so we should kick things off with a Marlena moment.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Is that what we're saying?
- 1:41Speaker 6: This is going to be disappointing. This is mostly just gross.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Oh, God. Like most of her stories. It's a movie
- 1:48Speaker 2: we watch now.
- 1:49Speaker 6: All right, so the other morning, I'm asleep.
- 1:53Speaker 1: That is pretty gross.
- 1:54Speaker 6: Yeah, it was totally gross.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I would just never do that again. You don't.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Unless you're driving.
- 2:00Speaker 2: That's a good time to take a break. Or watching TV.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 6: And I wake up I hear this like this sound
- 2:10Speaker 6: coming from my bathroom I'm like what is that and
- 2:14Speaker 6: I don't think much about it I go to the
- 2:15Speaker 6: gym I come back I'm like Gogo, did you poop
- 2:19Speaker 6: on the floor? And I'm, like, trying to find the
- 2:22Speaker 6: source of, like, this poop smell, and I walk in
- 2:24Speaker 6: my bathroom. Other people's poop in my bathroom floor!
- 2:30Speaker 2: I would immediately move.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Are you sure it wasn't ghost poop?
- 2:35Speaker 6: No, it was, like, it had been raining so hard
- 2:38Speaker 6: that the sewers backed up, and my toilet overflowed. Not
- 2:41Speaker 6: that I'd used it, but, like... overflowed in, like, other
- 2:45Speaker 6: people's poop on my floor. It was mostly just dirty water.
- 2:48Speaker 6: Which is poop.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm like, I.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Bleached the floor. I mean, I should move. I really should,
- 2:55Speaker 6: but I don't know. Other people's poop on my floor.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That's never fun, I would assume.
- 3:02Speaker 6: I just tiled that floor last week. just tiled it
- 3:06Speaker 6: last week, and now there's other people's poop on it.
- 3:08Speaker 6: I was very pissed about that. I was like, you know, like.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He was pissed about the poop.
- 3:14Speaker 6: I called, I was talking to one of my friends,
- 3:17Speaker 6: and I was like, there's other people's poop on my floor.
- 3:19Speaker 1: He goes, you're not down with OPP.
- 3:20Speaker 8: Are you?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Oh, God. Yeah, you know me. Oh, God.
- 3:28Speaker 7: Wow.
- 3:28Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 9: Yeah. The.
- 3:33Speaker 1: It was probably.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I'd break my lease for that.
- 3:35Speaker 6: I don't have a lease. I mean, it's not a
- 3:37Speaker 6: big deal.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I mean, it is a huge deal. It was poop
- 3:40Speaker 1: on your floor.
- 3:41Speaker 6: It wasn't my landlord's fault.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So, I mean, yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Can you see the city now?
- 3:46Speaker 1: Your landlord didn't come.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Well, if anybody watched the news, they knew that we
- 3:48Speaker 4: got hit by a fucking giant, enormous two weeks of
- 3:53Speaker 4: rain and tornadoes and other bullshit.
- 3:57Speaker 2: So, the river, what, it rose eight feet? Above flood stage,
- 4:02Speaker 2: you live right on the river. It's right outside your
- 4:04Speaker 2: door at this point.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Yeah, because I had been bracing myself for, like, the
- 4:07Speaker 6: river to come up and carry my house away.
- 4:10Speaker 1: How far away did it come?
- 4:11Speaker 6: It actually didn't get up to the sidewalk. Like, my
- 4:14Speaker 6: house is across the street from the river, like, right
- 4:16Speaker 6: across the street from the river. And there's, like, a bank,
- 4:18Speaker 6: and it got up to, like, maybe three or four
- 4:22Speaker 6: feet away from the sidewalk. So it still had quite
- 4:24Speaker 6: a ways to go, like.
- 4:26Speaker 11: I thought it would be a little closer. I was
- 4:28Speaker 11: concerned when I saw all the other stuff on the
- 4:31Speaker 11: other side of the river. So, yeah, I figured it was, like,
- 4:34Speaker 11: at your door at that point.
- 4:35Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the weird thing about right there. Like, all
- 4:38Speaker 6: down the street, I know a few people that live
- 4:40Speaker 6: in boats down there and the condos and stuff like that.
- 4:42Speaker 6: It got pretty close to that. But that part of Jeffersonville,
- 4:45Speaker 6: it just.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It.
- 4:47Speaker 6: Hasn't really flooded since 37. It's just the bank is
- 4:50Speaker 6: really high.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 6: So the water comes up.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And it very rarely gets, like... into anything.
- 4:57Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 4:58Speaker 6: But other people's poop.
- 4:59Speaker 1: On my floor.
- 5:00Speaker 2: There's a fun way to kick things off. That's right.
- 5:03Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Ripping that tile up.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And nowhere in that story was black snake moan, so
- 5:08Speaker 1: I'm kind of disappointed.
- 5:09Speaker 6: I mean, I did dance at some point, I'm sure.
- 5:14Speaker 2: While cleaning up other people's poop. No, no, no.
- 5:16Speaker 6: Not while cleaning other people's poop.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Dance in their poop.
- 5:20Speaker 6: Danced in the poop yeah i mean there wasn't like
- 5:22Speaker 6: huge turds or anything just like dirty it was just
- 5:26Speaker 6: dirty poop water in my bathtub and oh this is
- 5:31Speaker 6: the worst part actually oh there's a worst part yeah
- 5:33Speaker 6: okay so in addition to getting all over the floor
- 5:35Speaker 6: which was you know there was some like i'd like
- 5:38Speaker 6: i said just been tiling my floor so there's like
- 5:41Speaker 6: tile scraps and maybe a couple of tools or something
- 5:44Speaker 6: like that which is not a huge deal but Yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 6: all that stuff just got thrown away. It's not a
- 5:49Speaker 6: huge deal. But there were paint cans in my floor,
- 5:53Speaker 6: and I don't use my bathtub. I take a gym
- 5:55Speaker 6: at the shower every day. I take a shower at
- 5:57Speaker 6: the gym every day. So I don't use my bathtub.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So I just put, like, paint cans and.
- 6:01Speaker 6: Like, paint rollers and, like, buckets of plaster and stuff
- 6:10Speaker 6: like that in my bathtub, and that all got covered
- 6:13Speaker 6: in poopy water.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Did the bathtub leak up?
- 6:16Speaker 2: No, no, it didn't get that far. She puts meth
- 6:19Speaker 2: in her bathtub.
- 6:21Speaker 6: Yeah, maybe one of the.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Worst things ever. That batch is ruined.
- 6:25Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 6:26Speaker 2: It's a new strain. I've never seen a person turn
- 6:29Speaker 2: down meth. They don't care. They don't care. It's not
- 6:32Speaker 2: my kind of meth.
- 6:33Speaker 6: Speaking of drug stories, I was at this bar the
- 6:35Speaker 6: other day, We're just waiting in line for the bathroom,
- 6:38Speaker 6: and this weird Barbie doll comes up to us. She goes, oh,
- 6:42Speaker 6: my God, do you guys know where I can get
- 6:44Speaker 6: some blow? And we're like, no. She's like, are you sure?
- 6:48Speaker 1: We're like, yes.
- 6:49Speaker 6: She's like, because I can really smell it.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Shh, don't tell anybody.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Oh, my God. It's got some sweeteners.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Got any artificial sweeteners
- 6:58Speaker 2: lying around?
- 6:59Speaker 6: And then she was like, are you girls pinup girls?
- 7:03Speaker 6: We're like, no. She's like, can I have my picture
- 7:05Speaker 6: taken with you? I'm going to put this on Facebook
- 7:08Speaker 6: right now. And then, like, Jessica went into the bathroom.
- 7:11Speaker 6: She's like, she went into the bathroom with Jessica. She's like,
- 7:14Speaker 6: can I use some of your makeup? Jessica's like, I
- 7:17Speaker 6: guess so. And she's like, I have to use the
- 7:20Speaker 6: bathroom now.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Could you please leave?
- 7:21Speaker 6: And she was just, like, standing there putting makeup on.
- 7:23Speaker 6: She's like, I'm just going to pee with you in here.
- 7:25Speaker 5: That's okay.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Okay. And she's like, can I use your powder?
- 7:30Speaker 6: She goes, I shouldn't say powder.
- 7:31Speaker 1: It makes me want blow even more.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Stranger danger comes into your mind.
- 7:38Speaker 6: Serious stranger danger.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I need a soap! I need a soap! I'm sure
- 7:43Speaker 2: that wasn't Jamie Cain. You've got a stalker and she's
- 7:47Speaker 2: a blow fiend.
- 7:50Speaker 1: She was very pretty.
- 7:51Speaker 6: She was like a coked out Barbie doll.
- 7:54Speaker 1: She had a pretty stalker.
- 7:55Speaker 6: She had a stalker.
- 7:57Speaker 2: She followed you into the bathroom and wanted to take pictures.
- 8:00Speaker 2: They're not a stalker if they're pretty. That's usually true.
- 8:05Speaker 1: They're only a stalker if they're just as attractive as
- 8:07Speaker 1: that and smell funny.
- 8:09Speaker 6: Yeah, that's true.
- 8:09Speaker 1: They smell like old.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Those berry containers or something.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeasty?
- 8:20Speaker 2: Something like that. It's always kind of greasy.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't even want to think about Daniel or
- 8:29Speaker 6: Kenny or any of the other ones. How many stalkers
- 8:32Speaker 6: have you had? I'm a stalker magnet. I don't know
- 8:34Speaker 6: what it is about me. Real normal guys don't usually
- 8:37Speaker 6: like me, but stalkers love me.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Good times.
- 8:45Speaker 11: All right, on that cheery note, we'll take a break
- 8:47Speaker 11: and be back with this week's movie.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Stop their snoop. Stop their snoop.
- 8:51Speaker 10: And I'm into every word I said when I said
- 8:57Speaker 10: that I love you.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I meant that I'd.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Love you forever.
- 9:03Speaker 12: And I'm gonna keep on loving you. Cause it's the
- 9:17Speaker 12: only thing I wanna do.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I don't wanna sleep.
- 9:25Speaker 13: I just wanna keep on loving you.
- 9:31Speaker 14: Time out for a delicious snack in our sparkling refreshment building.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Every item a fresh, appetizing taste treat.

- 9:43Speaker 8: I'm Sandy.
- 9:45Speaker 1: And I love to get sent to the showers.
- 9:48Speaker 15: I'm Laura.
- 9:49Speaker 6: For me, scoring is everything.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I'm Julie.

- 10:40Speaker 6: staying with us.
- 10:42Speaker 9: This is Diane Franklin with Movie Meltdown.
- 10:50Speaker 2: It's time for Sofa Theater. Hey, you know those three
- 10:59Speaker 2: chicks over there?
- 11:00Speaker 8: Where?
- 11:00Speaker 2: Right there. You don't mean those three alien creatures sitting over.
- 11:04Speaker 9: There, do you?
- 11:05Speaker 2: David's just sitting here telling me that they're easy ladies. David,
- 11:08Speaker 2: you're imagining easy ladies.
- 11:09Speaker 14: I'm not imagining.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Listen, Gary, Tommy's brother screws that blonde like he owns her.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Bullshit, when you look at.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Them, they're virgins. They're not. I can tell by the
- 11:17Speaker 2: way they walk. Right, Rick? That brunette ain't no virgin.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Look at the way she's sucking on that straw. I'm
- 11:22Speaker 2: wasting my time here.
- 11:23Speaker 13: Count me out.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Hey, cool it for a second, Gary.
- 11:25Speaker 1: This could be interesting.
- 11:27Speaker 11: Dave, why don't you walk over there and invite the
- 11:29Speaker 11: three ladies back to our table?
- 11:32Speaker 2: No problem.
- 11:46Speaker 1: All right.
- 11:47Speaker 17: We're back with this week's stuff with.
- 11:50Speaker 2: The other feature. This week, we have The Last American Virgin.
- 12:16Speaker 2: The year is 1982. Director Boaz Davidson. The plot, according
- 12:21Speaker 2: to IMDb, the friendship of a group of young friends
- 12:25Speaker 2: struggling with teen sex, drugs, and work is jeopardized by
- 12:28Speaker 2: a romantic interest which may turn pals into bitter rivals. God,
- 12:32Speaker 2: that's awkwardly worded. Thank you, IMDb.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I feel weird talking about this movie with these super
- 12:39Speaker 1: cute mugs staring at me.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Would you like to describe? We busted out the mugs
- 12:45Speaker 2: for our hardcore sody pop that we're enjoying.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Love conquers all mugs.
- 12:52Speaker 2: That's very fitting in this movie, and we'll get to that.
- 12:56Speaker 1: They're from, what, the mid-70s, I would say.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I'd say, if not early 70s.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I don't think it says. It's got a tiger... Looks
- 13:04Speaker 1: like he's getting attacked from behind by a frog and
- 13:08Speaker 1: cuddling with a turtle.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what's up there.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Butterflies and hearts.
- 13:13Speaker 2: He is getting some... I mean, he's getting double teamed
- 13:16Speaker 2: by a frog and a turtle. It's really what he's doing.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Maybe it does fit in more with the movie.
- 13:20Speaker 2: That frog looks like he's giving it to him.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Oh, Lord.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I guess the turtle's watching.
- 13:29Speaker 18: Once again, that really fits into the movie.
- 13:32Speaker 2: All right, before we get sidetracked, it is time for.
- 13:36Speaker 11: So we will now hear what actress Diane Franklin thinks
- 13:40Speaker 11: about this movie.
- 13:42Speaker 9: Last American Virgin was the first feature I did, and
- 13:45Speaker 9: I shot it in California, and it was a wonderful
- 13:49Speaker 9: experience because I got to work with all new actors.
- 13:52Speaker 9: So everybody really wanted to make the film a good film,
- 13:55Speaker 9: and everybody put their heart into it. I think that
- 13:59Speaker 9: what was really interesting about that film was that the
- 14:02Speaker 9: tones were so different. There was this very kind of...
- 14:07Speaker 9: crazy romp of sex comedy, and then there's this very serious, dramatic,
- 14:12Speaker 9: gritty story. So I think that that's what makes that
- 14:15Speaker 9: film stay around. You cannot forget that film, especially with
- 14:18Speaker 9: the ending.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to ask, was that the way
- 14:20Speaker 2: it was originally scripted?
- 14:22Speaker 9: Yes, that movie was based on the director's life, and
- 14:27Speaker 9: it is... Something that, to this day, I never thought
- 14:32Speaker 9: that the films that I did would still be around
- 14:36Speaker 9: from the 80s. I thought, oh, you do a film and.
- 14:40Speaker 2: People move on.
- 14:41Speaker 9: But I actually have to tell you, I'm really grateful
- 14:44Speaker 9: that people still remember me. I must have made some
- 14:46Speaker 9: kind of an impression. So it's good.
- 14:48Speaker 2: That one in particular, I think... And I think it is.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I mean, it's a very different movie. Because there are
- 14:53Speaker 2: so many sex comedies in the 80s. But that one, like,
- 14:56Speaker 2: two-thirds of the way in takes that left turn. It's
- 14:59Speaker 2: just so dark. And you just don't see it coming.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Especially in that type of movie, you don't see it coming.
- 15:05Speaker 9: No, you absolutely don't. And I think that's what really
- 15:10Speaker 9: makes it unforgettable.
- 15:11Speaker 5: It is.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Certainly.
- 15:14Speaker 9: I wouldn't have made those decisions. In fact, I remember thinking, oh,
- 15:17Speaker 9: I'm going to tell the director we've got to change
- 15:18Speaker 9: the ending. But, you know, it's really an unforgettable ending,
- 15:24Speaker 9: and I have a soft spot in my heart for it.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's very real, I think. I mean,
- 15:28Speaker 2: it is the way life goes. Not always the good way. Exactly.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Did you take any backlash? I mean, you're kind of
- 15:36Speaker 2: villainized by the end there. Yeah, you know.
- 15:38Speaker 9: It's funny.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't realize.
- 15:42Speaker 9: how it affects audiences. And somebody once told me that
- 15:45Speaker 9: they were watching the movie at the drive-in, and at
- 15:49Speaker 9: the end, when I... I'm not going to say what happens,
- 15:53Speaker 9: but at the end, when they see what happens at
- 15:55Speaker 9: the end, the entire drive-in, there were screams from guys.
- 16:00Speaker 9: And there were some four-letter words that I can't say
- 16:04Speaker 9: right now that were screamed.
- 16:05Speaker 2: People were not happy.
- 16:07Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 2: It is one of those I remember seeing as a kid,
- 16:11Speaker 2: relatively young, and, like, I think it affected me.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I think it messed up my romantic situation. Oh, no.
- 16:19Speaker 2: That's so sad. It took that same left turn, and
- 16:22Speaker 2: I've never recovered. Oh, man.
- 16:24Speaker 9: I know.
- 16:24Speaker 2: It's like, oh. Yeah, it really, I mean, just, I
- 16:27Speaker 2: watched it again recently. It's that.
- 16:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 2: It's heartbreaking. It's such a weird turn in a movie.
- 16:32Speaker 5: I know.
- 16:33Speaker 9: That character, that's why now when I do the shows,
- 16:37Speaker 9: I always take pictures with Gary because I'm like, no.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I love Gary.
- 16:41Speaker 8: I love him.
- 16:42Speaker 15: It's okay.
- 16:42Speaker 1: It's totally fine.
- 16:44Speaker 9: I know people want to see us together. Are you guys.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Do.
- 16:49Speaker 2: You still hate her? Right, right.
- 16:51Speaker 9: It's funny.
- 16:52Speaker 6: It's great.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Thank you once again to Diane. Now we.
- 16:56Speaker 11: We have to move on into our thoughts on this movie,
- 16:59Speaker 11: which seem to be quite a few.
- 17:02Speaker 2: It is quite a movie. Should we wait till we
- 17:08Speaker 2: get to the end? Because to me, this is two
- 17:10Speaker 2: different movies. I mean, it is completely... And I'll throw
- 17:14Speaker 2: out the spoiler alert seriously. If you're going to watch
- 17:18Speaker 2: this movie, go watch it now. Don't listen to the
- 17:21Speaker 2: rest of it, because the end of this becomes an
- 17:24Speaker 2: entirely different And you really should, yeah, you should kind
- 17:28Speaker 2: of go into that blind if you want to get
- 17:31Speaker 2: the true experience. So, yeah, stop now. Go watch the movie.
- 17:35Speaker 2: It becomes like an after-school special, doesn't it? If after-school
- 17:39Speaker 2: specials took the fucking gloves off.
- 17:41Speaker 8: Right.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Sure, yeah. It's the thing.
- 17:43Speaker 11: It's not cheesy and just watered down to nothing like
- 17:47Speaker 11: most after-school specials. It's not preachy like after... It just
- 17:50Speaker 11: becomes fucking real.
- 17:51Speaker 9: Right.
- 17:52Speaker 8: And.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so we can save that for the end. But otherwise,
- 17:56Speaker 2: of the first two-thirds of the movie, when it's an
- 17:58Speaker 2: entirely different movie, where would you like to begin? This
- 18:01Speaker 2: was not the movie that I was sold. That's the thing.
- 18:05Speaker 11: I mean, to me, it's so weird, and that's kind
- 18:08Speaker 11: of why, because I, as I mentioned to her, I
- 18:11Speaker 11: saw this, like, really young on cable. And on cable,
- 18:15Speaker 11: especially at that age, you're looking for boob movies? I mean,
- 18:19Speaker 11: we had cable, so I was just like, all right.
- 18:21Speaker 2: 80s, sold you the boobs. Yeah, teen sex comedy. And
- 18:26Speaker 2: that's what I was expecting was a kind of meatball-esque movie.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Teen coming of age. The guy looking through into the
- 18:33Speaker 2: girl's shower. We got some of that. You get all
- 18:37Speaker 2: of that. The thing is, it is that movie. It's
- 18:39Speaker 2: almost too much of that movie.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I guess I just typically hate those movies.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I normally don't either.
- 18:46Speaker 11: The thing is, if it was just the first two-thirds
- 18:48Speaker 11: of this movie, I probably never would have suggested watching it.
- 18:51Speaker 11: I think it's that last part that changes everything. It
- 18:54Speaker 11: takes a turn for the dark side. At least talk
- 18:57Speaker 11: about it. It's one of those that really... threw me
- 19:00Speaker 11: off at that time. Again, it's just, it's a sucker.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Punch of a movie. I mean, it's, It's a fun...
- 19:07Speaker 2: It's a, hey, everybody, it's everything fancy free. It's the 80s, man.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Let's listen to our rockin' soundtrack and let's all go
- 19:14Speaker 2: get laid.
- 19:14Speaker 1: That soundtrack was fuckin' awesome.
- 19:16Speaker 2: It does have an awesome soundtrack.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Journey fuckin' kicks ass. I don't care what anybody says.
- 19:20Speaker 1: They're one of my favorite bands of all time. Only
- 19:23Speaker 1: Journey with Steve Perry, because if it doesn't have Steve Perry,
- 19:26Speaker 1: Journey can fuck off.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Or that Filipino guy that sounds like Steve Perry. No,
- 19:29Speaker 2: you don't count either.
- 19:30Speaker 1: He ain't Steve Perry.
- 19:30Speaker 9: Fuck him.
- 19:31Speaker 2: But I mean, yeah, you've got Devo, you've got, who else,
- 19:35Speaker 2: the cars? The cars, the police.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I hate the police, you know what I'm saying?
- 19:39Speaker 2: I love the police. Lionel Richie. Lionel Richie. Was Lionel Richie,
- 19:43Speaker 2: was he in the movie at some point? We don't
- 19:45Speaker 2: recognize him because he was in the movie a lot.
- 19:47Speaker 1: No, there was only one black guy. Right.
- 19:49Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Could have been Lionel Richie. And he had a sleeveless
- 19:52Speaker 2: turtleneck on.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Yeah, wow.
- 19:55Speaker 2: But yeah, I think, Greg, you said it was the
- 19:57Speaker 2: greatest hits of the 80s album. It basically was. Devo, Commodores,
- 20:01Speaker 2: Oingo Boingo, The Waitresses, Blondie. I mean, it's everybody. I
- 20:06Speaker 2: don't understand how they could afford any actors paying what
- 20:08Speaker 2: they probably had to pay to put this soundtrack together.
- 20:11Speaker 2: You know, the only thing that I can figure is
- 20:14Speaker 2: maybe they didn't do a soundtrack per se. They fought
- 20:18Speaker 2: them to put in the movie, but not.
- 20:20Speaker 9: Right.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Well, you know, it was right after MTV came out.
- 20:24Speaker 2: And so there's a whole lot of this movie that
- 20:26Speaker 2: was like a video. They would do the entire song.
- 20:31Speaker 2: and then maybe play that song again ten minutes later.
- 20:34Speaker 2: They did work a couple of times. Most of the
- 20:36Speaker 2: time during the song, there wasn't much dialogue. Yeah, it
- 20:39Speaker 2: was all, and again, it kind of works on that.
- 20:41Speaker 11: I mean, again, this is that dawn of the music
- 20:44Speaker 11: video age, so it is all these directors kind of
- 20:47Speaker 11: discovering that way to shoot something.
- 20:49Speaker 2: It's like you didn't have that.
- 20:51Speaker 11: It was completely unknown to do something like that in
- 20:54Speaker 11: the 70s, so it's weird that you're kind of watching
- 20:57Speaker 11: this unfold. Probably almost in the other direction. It's like
- 21:00Speaker 11: you get these movies and then they turn the music
- 21:03Speaker 11: videos into these kind of, you know, it's like they
- 21:06Speaker 11: were drawing from these movies probably as they started making
- 21:09Speaker 11: more and more music videos.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I did notice every time any kind of emotion
- 21:15Speaker 2: was expressed any time.
- 21:17Speaker 9: In the movie.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Music kicked in. Yeah. No one ever handled emotion without music.
- 21:22Speaker 2: They played very heavily.
- 21:23Speaker 11: And in both, I mean, definitely in the sad scenes,
- 21:25Speaker 11: but even in, like, the other one, like, when the
- 21:27Speaker 11: party would kick in, the party music kicked in.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And it's like, it was... Or when they were escaping
- 21:33Speaker 2: getting caught.
- 21:33Speaker 1: When they were getting naked.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Crazy, running away music. Wait, nobody got naked in this movie. No.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I don't think... Other than the parents, I think everyone
- 21:42Speaker 2: got naked. Pretty much.
- 21:45Speaker 11: Way more than we needed to of a lot of
- 21:47Speaker 11: these characters.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Especially that one dude. The big chunkin'. I didn't need
- 21:51Speaker 1: to see him naked ever.
- 21:54Speaker 2: The ugly Chris Penn.
- 21:59Speaker 9: David.
- 21:59Speaker 1: No, what was his name? Who did I say he
- 22:01Speaker 1: was at the day?
- 22:04Speaker 2: Jonah Hill. He kind of, yeah. He's the 82 Jonah Hill.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It's kind of like if you wanted to see Jonah
- 22:10Speaker 2: Hill naked, you get to in this one.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Nobody wants to see that. Although he has lost a
- 22:14Speaker 1: lot of weight now.
- 22:15Speaker 2: What's funny is, I mean, especially in this, I mean,
- 22:17Speaker 2: you get that whole.
- 22:18Speaker 11: I mean, it is a 80s crazy sex comedy, but
- 22:22Speaker 11: with those, it's always built around this little group of friends,
- 22:24Speaker 11: and you've always got, oh, the dorky friend. You've got
- 22:27Speaker 11: the one that's usually the hefty guy, and usually they
- 22:29Speaker 11: all make fun of him. He's kind of like cool
- 22:31Speaker 11: number two.
- 22:33Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Like, he's... He's hooking up with chicks. He's the smooth one.
- 22:36Speaker 2: They send over to talk to him. He's got the money.
- 22:38Speaker 2: He's got money.
- 22:39Speaker 11: Like, yeah, he's still a dork, and they still kind
- 22:41Speaker 11: of make fun of him, but at the same time,
- 22:42Speaker 11: I'm like, he's still cooler than our main character.
- 22:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 11: Like, Gary is kind of the loser of the bunch, really.
- 22:48Speaker 11: Definitely when it comes to the ladies. So, it's funny
- 22:51Speaker 11: that they worked that. Like, I really expected, going back
- 22:54Speaker 11: to watch it again, that it was going to be like, oh.
- 22:57Speaker 2: He's the dumb fat guy. We're going to make fun
- 22:59Speaker 2: of him, but... Not really. He was cool. He was
- 23:02Speaker 2: way cooler than Gary.
- 23:03Speaker 1: What's the matter with you?
- 23:06Speaker 15: Are you drunk?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Not yet. I'm just getting started.
- 23:11Speaker 9: Well, it seems like you're off to a pretty good start.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I'm still young. I'm just getting ready for the good part. Hey,
- 23:19Speaker 2: do you want some?
- 23:20Speaker 5: Oh, no thanks.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I'll pass.
- 23:23Speaker 5: You and Rick are pretty good friends, aren't you?
- 23:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Yeah, we're partners, you know? Tight. You sure like him,
- 23:32Speaker 2: don't you?
- 23:34Speaker 6: Why do you ask?
- 23:35Speaker 2: I don't know. It just felt like asking. You know,
- 23:39Speaker 2: Gary had, and before we even get to what you're
- 23:43Speaker 2: deeming the last third, he has a whole lot of issues.
- 23:48Speaker 2: That character does.
- 23:48Speaker 1: They all seem to have.
- 23:50Speaker 2: A lot of issues. Yeah, kind of. But he just,
- 23:53Speaker 2: you know, he'd rather watch a friend sleep with a
- 23:57Speaker 2: girl than.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Be with a girl that is halfway attractive and wants
- 24:02Speaker 2: to be with him. But then we'll go after the
- 24:07Speaker 2: awkward big girl at the beginning. That one's always weird.
- 24:11Speaker 2: The one that was uncomfortable and didn't want to have
- 24:13Speaker 2: anything to do with him at all. And had chips
- 24:15Speaker 2: all over her chest.
- 24:18Speaker 1: But Lucy, he couldn't have Lucy.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I don't get that. Lucy's awesome. She's the unsigned hero
- 24:23Speaker 2: of this movie.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Rose. To me, she'll always be Lucy.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Lucy from Twin Peaks is in there. And that
- 24:29Speaker 2: was the one I was like, that's the guest, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 2: appearance that you're going to be like, oh my god,
- 24:33Speaker 2: look who it is!
- 24:35Speaker 1: If we could have just watched her for her while
- 24:37Speaker 1: my movie was, maybe I'd have been okay.
- 24:40Speaker 2: She's fun, though. And she's totally cool. She's got cool
- 24:43Speaker 2: hair and cool glasses and cool sparkles on her face.
- 24:46Speaker 2: She's the one I would have been after. Truthfully, I mean, yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 11: I mean, Diane's cute, but she's... Like, Rose has such
- 24:53Speaker 11: a thing going on.
- 24:54Speaker 8: Like, she.
- 24:55Speaker 11: It was such a put-together look that she was trying
- 24:58Speaker 11: for that, yeah, she kind of wins you over.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I didn't like this movie.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I felt uncomfortable and awkward throughout most of
- 25:07Speaker 2: the movie.
- 25:07Speaker 1: I understand that. That's why I never watch The Office.
- 25:09Speaker 1: It makes me uncomfortable.
- 25:10Speaker 2: It's awkward.
- 25:12Speaker 1: The whole thing is just awkward and uncomfortable.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I will agree with you.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I didn't like it.
- 25:16Speaker 6: I'm just like.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Especially the locker room wing size measuring. Okay, let's get
- 25:21Speaker 2: to that because... That was another one of those.
- 25:26Speaker 11: Again, seeing that as a kid, it was like that scene,
- 25:30Speaker 11: it haunts you. I remember seeing that and not even
- 25:34Speaker 11: remembering what movie it came from.
- 25:36Speaker 9: Right.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Because, you know, we've got all those 80s bad sex comedies. Yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 2: I fell into, you know, is it Porky's? Is it Screwballs?
- 25:44Speaker 2: Is it, you know, any of these movies. All those
- 25:46Speaker 2: type of bad sex comedies have those little, like, very specific,
- 25:50Speaker 2: goofy little scenes. Like, it's its own little thing. Like,
- 25:53Speaker 2: you can take that scene and throw it in any movie.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And that's kind of what this was. It doesn't really
- 25:58Speaker 2: need to be there. It doesn't fit with what's going on.
- 26:00Speaker 2: It doesn't need to be there at all. No, it doesn't.
- 26:02Speaker 11: And it's one of those that, like, just really throws
- 26:05Speaker 11: off the movie as far as I'm concerned.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Well, you don't feel so bad that the guy's car
- 26:11Speaker 2: gets totaled. I guess. Yeah, and he's not. No, nothing's
- 26:16Speaker 2: going to bother him. He's got a 9.5 in his dick.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I had to go get the measuring tape so that
- 26:20Speaker 1: Marlena could accurately judge.
- 26:22Speaker 2: So she could physically, in the real world, We get
- 26:25Speaker 2: the winner of the contest, who's 9.5, and in the
- 26:28Speaker 2: middle of the movie, Marlena's got the measuring tape out,
- 26:31Speaker 2: just sort of, I had.
- 26:32Speaker 1: To know exactly.
- 26:33Speaker 6: I mean, I know what 9 1⁄2 inches looks like,
- 26:35Speaker 6: I think, but I needed to, like.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Visualize. Really visualize it.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I mean, you need to visualize the 3 1⁄2 inches
- 26:40Speaker 1: of the.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that guy lost. In life. Yes, he did. Notice
- 26:47Speaker 2: they never showed his face. No. He was wearing a mask. Actually,
- 26:52Speaker 2: they did show his face. Oh, did they?
- 26:53Speaker 10: Yes.
- 26:53Speaker 6: He was at Mega Ginge.
- 26:54Speaker 10: Yes, he was.
- 26:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Ginger pubes.
- 27:00Speaker 2: But I think what's most disturbing about that... There you.
- 27:04Speaker 11: Go.
- 27:05Speaker 1: There's your most disturbing part.
- 27:07Speaker 2: That's pretty damn disturbing.
- 27:09Speaker 6: In Flight of the Conchords, they sing a song about
- 27:11Speaker 6: Murray and they say something about his ginger balls. Ginger balls.
- 27:16Speaker 11: But I think it's the casualness that they all go
- 27:19Speaker 11: into this.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, hey! Let's all strip down in front
- 27:23Speaker 2: of each other and have you handle my junk with
- 27:26Speaker 2: the ruler. Slap it around so it's at full length.
- 27:30Speaker 2: That's the thing. If it were interaction, like if it
- 27:32Speaker 2: were guys going and hooking up over there, I think
- 27:34Speaker 2: I would have been less disturbed by the fact that
- 27:36Speaker 2: at least that makes sense.
- 27:37Speaker 11: At least, okay, those guys are getting it on. This was, no,
- 27:41Speaker 11: let's all happily line up. and freely, you know, take
- 27:45Speaker 11: our junk out and have this guy over here handle
- 27:48Speaker 11: it and go on about our business.
- 27:49Speaker 2: It's the 80s, man. Yeah, but that's the other thing.
- 27:52Speaker 2: I was like, I was, that's the thing. You were
- 27:54Speaker 2: in high school around that time. So was I. That
- 27:58Speaker 2: wouldn't have gone over. No, it wouldn't have gone over.
- 28:00Speaker 2: It hasn't beat up. Yeah. I mean, now I don't
- 28:02Speaker 2: think it would go over. Now it's way more changed.
- 28:06Speaker 2: It's changed a lot more since then.
- 28:07Speaker 11: But the level of homophobia in a high school in
- 28:10Speaker 11: the 80s is, Jesus, there's no way.
- 28:12Speaker 2: In hell that would have gone over. Yeah, but then
- 28:16Speaker 2: you've got all the... Not so much the homophobia, but
- 28:20Speaker 2: then you've got just the... How do you say it?
- 28:24Speaker 2: The horseplay? The naiveness, I guess. Naivety. Naivety? Is that
- 28:28Speaker 2: even a fucking word? Whatever. Naivete. That was close.
- 28:31Speaker 9: Whatever.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Whatever. You got a bunch of kids who don't know
- 28:34Speaker 2: what the fuck they're doing, so they figure they'll whip
- 28:35Speaker 2: it out and compare.
- 28:36Speaker 11: Kind of, but there was already a whole way, especially
- 28:40Speaker 11: by the time you get to high school.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you're uncomfortable enough as it is. There was a
- 28:43Speaker 2: kid in my high school that wore his underwear in
- 28:45Speaker 2: the shower. See? There you go. And you could see
- 28:48Speaker 2: the line when he put his clothes back on of
- 28:51Speaker 2: the wet. So there's no way that those guys would have...
- 28:55Speaker 2: It never would have happened. Here's my uncomfortable story of
- 28:58Speaker 2: high school. Somebody had made a comment about all the
- 29:02Speaker 2: guys wearing tighty-whities back then. Everybody wore tighty-whities. Except for me.
- 29:06Speaker 15: I wore boxers.
- 29:11Speaker 2: And I got made fun of constantly because I was
- 29:13Speaker 2: the old man who wore boxers. Ah, look at him.
- 29:17Speaker 9: He's old.
- 29:17Speaker 2: He's wearing boxers. You know, what do you do? Do
- 29:19Speaker 2: you rip off your grandpa's underwear? Now look, everybody's wearing boxers, huh? Yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Fuck you guys. It wasn't that long. It was like
- 29:26Speaker 2: 10 years. It switched over. And then it was like,
- 29:28Speaker 2: you're wearing tighty-whities. You're weird.
- 29:30Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 29:30Speaker 2: So, yeah. Whatever.
- 29:33Speaker 1: There's nothing less sexy than tighty-whities.
- 29:36Speaker 2: You know, I prefer, like.
- 29:37Speaker 6: Boxer briefs myself.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I love boxer briefs.
- 29:39Speaker 2: That's another.
- 29:40Speaker 11: That's an okay way to go.
- 29:41Speaker 2: There's just, there's no being cool in tighty-whities, you know?
- 29:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Me in the middle. Oh, boy. There's no cool way
- 29:50Speaker 2: to pull those off. Literally, this movie.
- 29:53Speaker 1: This movie just made me so uncomfortable. That was one
- 29:55Speaker 1: of the many, many scenes.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Aside from the fact that him lining up to watch
- 30:00Speaker 2: his friend Screw this. She's not really a prostitute. I
- 30:05Speaker 2: guess she's more... She's a cougar. She's a cougar, yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 2: But she was a cute cougar.
- 30:09Speaker 1: She was adorable.
- 30:10Speaker 2: She was like Charo. It was mostly, yeah. There was
- 30:12Speaker 2: a lot of Gucci Gucci action going on. It was
- 30:14Speaker 2: mostly the accent, I think, that pulled it off.
- 30:17Speaker 11: It just looks like she's alright.
- 30:20Speaker 2: She was okay for an old lady. It was years
- 30:23Speaker 2: and years before anybody knew what a MILF was, but,
- 30:26Speaker 2: you know, she would be thrown into that. But, um.
- 30:29Speaker 1: He's given the opportunity to nail this cougar.
- 30:32Speaker 2: And what does he do?
- 30:33Speaker 1: He runs out and gets his friends and brings them
- 30:34Speaker 1: back so that they can do her.
- 30:36Speaker 2: That's a weird move. I'm sorry. That's what I'm saying.
- 30:38Speaker 2: He's got some issues because, again, he would rather watch
- 30:43Speaker 2: his friends. Right, yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 11: I guess the most acceptable version is he's just nervous.
- 30:48Speaker 11: He doesn't know how to handle it, so he pushes
- 30:50Speaker 11: it off on his friends.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Right. But there's a much... He gives us the.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Opportunity to see his big old fat friend flail it
- 30:56Speaker 1: about on this poor helpless woman.
- 30:58Speaker 9: I know.
- 30:58Speaker 2: He looked like he was having a seizure on top
- 31:01Speaker 2: of her. He kind of did. Somebody help that woman.
- 31:04Speaker 2: I don't want to see any of his ass. Or
- 31:08Speaker 2: his boobs. His boobs are bigger than half the girls
- 31:11Speaker 2: in this cast. He's de-clothed far too often. Yes, I agree.
- 31:15Speaker 2: That cougar chick had huge nipples.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Huge, like dinner plate nipples. They were ginormous.
- 31:21Speaker 2: But yeah, there's definitely something You know, especially once you
- 31:25Speaker 2: put it all together. In one or two of these scenes,
- 31:27Speaker 2: you can be like, well, yeah, he's a virgin. He's nervous.
- 31:30Speaker 11: He's trying to, you know, find a way to work
- 31:31Speaker 11: around it and slowly work his way into having sex.
- 31:35Speaker 11: But when you put all these situations together, I mean,
- 31:38Speaker 11: he always... finds a way to put his friends first.
- 31:42Speaker 11: He always wants to watch his friends at the same time.
- 31:45Speaker 2: With the exception of the hooker. Well, but that's because
- 31:49Speaker 2: they finally were like, no, you're doing it this time.
- 31:52Speaker 2: And then, well. Get over here, take your pants off.
- 31:54Speaker 1: At first I was pretty sure it was Willem Dafoe
- 31:56Speaker 1: in drag.
- 31:57Speaker 11: And then I said, no, Willem Dafoe is much more attractive.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Okay, Willem Dafoe is pretty hot. He's got nicer legs
- 32:03Speaker 2: than this chick.
- 32:04Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 2: He had weird, fucked up legs. I'm still not sure
- 32:08Speaker 2: that was a woman. No, the charmed girl had one.
- 32:10Speaker 2: She had the little shriveled looking cat. The cadaver legs.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Cadaver cat. That's attractive. Any uncomfortable?
- 32:19Speaker 1: It was disturbing. I didn't like any of those people.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I liked the dance. Diane Franklin was so adorable.
- 32:25Speaker 2: She was.
- 32:26Speaker 1: She could have used a little landscaping on her eyebrows.
- 32:28Speaker 1: But she had beautiful skin.
- 32:29Speaker 2: In the 80s, nobody did eyebrows then. That was kind
- 32:32Speaker 2: of the thing.
- 32:33Speaker 6: If you didn't have eyebrows like that, you combed them
- 32:35Speaker 6: up so they would look like that.
- 32:36Speaker 2: You think of all the guys that had just out-of-control eyebrows.
- 32:40Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I can't think of any. But there were a lot.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I seem to remember.
- 32:44Speaker 1: But she had beautiful skin, and she had a beautiful stomach,
- 32:48Speaker 1: and she looked good naked. I'll give her that much.
- 32:51Speaker 6: She has cute boobs.
- 32:53Speaker 15: She did.
- 32:53Speaker 6: That came out boobs.
- 32:55Speaker 15: Boobs.
- 32:55Speaker 1: She has cute boobs. She was super adorable, so there's
- 32:58Speaker 1: nothing against her. It's just the movie in general rubbed
- 33:02Speaker 1: me the wrong way.
- 33:02Speaker 11: The movie is very disturbing. Again, that's why I remembered it.
- 33:06Speaker 11: That's why it's stuck in my head over the years.
- 33:09Speaker 11: That was the first thing. When I saw she was there,
- 33:11Speaker 11: it wasn't all the cheesy horror movies that everybody else got.
- 33:13Speaker 11: I was like, oh my god, I have to talk
- 33:14Speaker 11: to her about that. Because that movie traumatized me.
- 33:18Speaker 2: That was the horror movie?
- 33:20Speaker 15: It was.
- 33:20Speaker 2: I was like, that was the one that affected me.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Not any other. I can't even think. That's the thing.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Everybody was telling stories about horror movies that messed them
- 33:28Speaker 2: up as a kid. And I was like... can't think
- 33:30Speaker 2: of any and I watched a lot and again we
- 33:31Speaker 2: had cable I watched everything that was on cable I
- 33:34Speaker 2: remember liking all these I don't remember anything that was
- 33:36Speaker 2: like disturbing in the horror movie realm but something like
- 33:40Speaker 2: this like definitely affected me.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Over the years you know I remembered um seeing I
- 33:47Speaker 3: must have seen it on USA or something at one
- 33:49Speaker 3: point so because the I think I remember waiting for
- 33:53Speaker 3: the reveal or, you know, thinking that there should be
- 33:55Speaker 3: skin in it and there, and there wasn't something.
- 33:57Speaker 2: And I must've seen like a, which really made this,
- 34:02Speaker 2: which really would make this movie suck as a teenager.
- 34:04Speaker 2: But I remembered the scene where they're all sitting on
- 34:06Speaker 2: the couch together at the beginning when they're at the
- 34:09Speaker 2: parents' house and how uncomfortable and awkward that was.
- 34:12Speaker 1: And, Which, that's a funny thing.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I think I got bored and turned it off. You know, eventually,
- 34:15Speaker 2: after all of that. Because there's no need. Because there's
- 34:18Speaker 2: no need. If I was by myself.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I probably would have got bored and turned this off.
- 34:21Speaker 6: Yeah. I mean, the main guy, if you think about it,
- 34:23Speaker 6: he kind of looked like a donkey.
- 34:24Speaker 1: He had donkey lips.
- 34:27Speaker 6: Donkey lips and huge teeth.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I think I saw the same thing at that time,
- 34:31Speaker 2: and I thought it was Ralph Macchio. Yeah. And I
- 34:33Speaker 2: think I turned the channel, because it wasn't Karate Kid.
- 34:37Speaker 2: It wasn't Karate Kid. Either there's going to be karate,
- 34:39Speaker 2: or he's going to hook up. And if I can't
- 34:41Speaker 2: get either of those, I'm out of here. When he
- 34:43Speaker 2: didn't hook up with that one chick, I was like, eh,
- 34:45Speaker 2: screw this, man.
- 34:46Speaker 1: That chick?
- 34:47Speaker 2: No, not her, the other one.
- 34:48Speaker 1: So you wanted him to hook up?
- 34:51Speaker 2: I didn't want to see that. Well, in the sense that...
- 34:54Speaker 2: You always are cheering for the guy. If he wants it, fine.
- 34:57Speaker 2: I'm going to cheer for you to hook up with her. But,
- 34:59Speaker 2: like Brian said, the one guy that you think, you
- 35:03Speaker 2: think the big guy's going to hook up with a chick? No.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Who does he get? He gets the blonde.
- 35:07Speaker 9: Why?
- 35:07Speaker 2: Because he's got confidence. He knows what he's doing. And
- 35:10Speaker 2: a bitchin' gold, yellow gold chain. Hell yeah. And sweet
- 35:13Speaker 2: dance moves. And dance moves. And he had a yellow vest. Right.
- 35:17Speaker 2: And the sunglasses. And the sunglasses. In true 80s form,
- 35:20Speaker 2: he puts on those sunglasses before he even goes and
- 35:22Speaker 2: talks to the girls.
- 35:23Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 2: And he had money. And he had money. Yeah.
- 35:26Speaker 11: He was the one they bummed money off of the
- 35:28Speaker 11: entire movie.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I was afraid for a second that we were going
- 35:31Speaker 1: to have to see that one chick's boobs. And I
- 35:32Speaker 1: was like, no.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Which one didn't we see? She's about the only one.
- 35:36Speaker 2: We saw her in her bra.
- 35:37Speaker 1: When he reached for the skizzers because he couldn't get the.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Clasp button. Yeah, that was kind of a... That was
- 35:42Speaker 2: a bra fail.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I was like, no, please, please, please.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I don't want to see that. Her entire, I'm not interested... No,
- 35:49Speaker 2: whatever it is, I'm not interested. I'm sure many guys
- 35:53Speaker 2: have been on that date before.
- 35:55Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't care.
- 35:57Speaker 11: But that's another one. Let's talk about the fact that
- 36:01Speaker 11: these girls, okay, they're hanging out there. The other two
- 36:03Speaker 11: look kind of slutty. And she's like, you think she's
- 36:06Speaker 11: the good girl. She's the sensible one. And, you know,
- 36:08Speaker 11: she's the one that's going to keep them under control.
- 36:10Speaker 11: And we don't want to go to your party. And
- 36:11Speaker 11: she's going to be the one that will keep the
- 36:13Speaker 11: leash on these two, you know, crazy girls. Who's the
- 36:15Speaker 11: first one that goes, what about drugs? Where's the drugs?
- 36:19Speaker 2: She was all about some drugs. And then snorts the
- 36:22Speaker 2: half pound of sweet and low. Good God.
- 36:25Speaker 11: I wonder how many kids tried that in 1980. Oh,
- 36:28Speaker 11: you know, they all did.
- 36:29Speaker 2: We're doing later. What are you talking about? Yeah, this
- 36:31Speaker 2: is before all that shit. I once snorted a pixie
- 36:34Speaker 2: stick on a deer. Not because I thought it was drugs,
- 36:37Speaker 2: but because someone dared to. There were a bunch of
- 36:39Speaker 2: kids that used to snort Tylenol in high school. What
- 36:42Speaker 2: does that do? I have no idea. Makes your headache
- 36:45Speaker 2: go away. It probably fucks you up. It probably fucks
- 36:47Speaker 2: up your sinus. It gives you a.
- 36:49Speaker 6: Headache and makes your headache and then makes it go away.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. What did the pixie stick do?
- 36:54Speaker 2: It burned and then I coughed. It was green. It
- 36:58Speaker 2: was like a cloud.
- 36:59Speaker 6: Once when I was little, I had to sneeze, but
- 37:03Speaker 6: it wouldn't come out. And I'd watch so many cartoons
- 37:05Speaker 6: where they would. breathe in pepper, so I snorted.
- 37:07Speaker 2: A thing of pepper.
- 37:08Speaker 1: I was, like, maybe five or six.
- 37:10Speaker 6: That hurt. And then I, like, was trying to get
- 37:13Speaker 6: rid of it, so I only had orange soda, so I, like,
- 37:17Speaker 6: tried to breathe in orange soda. So I snorted pepper
- 37:20Speaker 6: and then orange soda.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Was this in the trailer park? Yes.
- 37:24Speaker 2: This is at my grandma's house.
- 37:26Speaker 6: No, actually, my grandma didn't move the trailers.
- 37:30Speaker 2: But, you know.
- 37:31Speaker 11: Well, of this cast, though, I have to say it,
- 37:34Speaker 11: Most of, a lot of the, you know, in the
- 37:37Speaker 11: 80s you didn't have as much of it, but as
- 37:39Speaker 11: time goes on you get all these, like, perfect cast
- 37:42Speaker 11: of pretty people, especially now. Jesus, look at any quote-unquote teenagers,
- 37:47Speaker 11: which are about 30 in movies, and they're like the
- 37:50Speaker 11: perfect WB crew.
- 37:51Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 37:52Speaker 11: And it's like most of these kids were real-looking kids,
- 37:55Speaker 11: you know? It's like you look at the goofy ones
- 37:57Speaker 11: and they were all kind of normal-looking. Like, even of
- 38:00Speaker 11: the three, it's like, you know, Gary seems like a
- 38:02Speaker 11: guy you probably went to school with, you know?
- 38:04Speaker 2: It's like, even the pretty one, he was pretty, but
- 38:06Speaker 2: he looked like he probably, he was weird looking. But again,
- 38:10Speaker 2: of the three, he's the one the girls would have
- 38:12Speaker 2: gone with. Yeah, I had a friend that was like that.
- 38:14Speaker 2: He was the guy that all the chicks immediately hooked
- 38:18Speaker 2: up with. He was a jackass. Just like this guy,
- 38:22Speaker 2: slept with him, dumped him. You know, and that's the
- 38:24Speaker 2: kind of guy he was. But you always had that
- 38:26Speaker 2: in school. You had the three, pretty much. again, like the,
- 38:30Speaker 2: you know, our friend David, who we've seen plenty of, again,
- 38:35Speaker 2: that's a real kid. That's a real kid, though. Right, yeah.
- 38:38Speaker 11: You know you went to school with that guy. Or
- 38:40Speaker 11: even the awkward girl at the party. I think everybody
- 38:42Speaker 11: went to school with that girl, too. So it's like,
- 38:45Speaker 11: At least some of it feels real.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Pocahontas.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Pocahontas. She was the hottest girl in that movie. She was.
- 38:51Speaker 2: She gets overlooked in this one, too. She sits in
- 38:55Speaker 2: front of Gary, is it? Yeah, somewhere, one over. Right
- 38:59Speaker 2: behind her, right behind him.
- 39:01Speaker 11: Yeah, as he gets in trouble in his geometry class.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Whatever's going on, yeah, she sits in front of him.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I hated this movie. I liked Diane Franklin just
- 39:10Speaker 1: because she was super cute. She was good. For the
- 39:13Speaker 1: most part, I liked her character. I don't like her
- 39:15Speaker 1: at the end because.
- 39:16Speaker 2: She's kind of a bitch. I addressed that to her.
- 39:19Speaker 2: We'll get to that.
- 39:21Speaker 1: I mean, I hated the Rick. Rick is his name?
- 39:24Speaker 1: The guy scrolling around.
- 39:25Speaker 2: He had eyeballs.
- 39:26Speaker 1: His eyes. I kept waiting for his lids to like
- 39:28Speaker 1: blink upwards because he had this like weird lizard eye
- 39:31Speaker 1: i think he had.
- 39:31Speaker 2: This weird lower lid yeah it was.
- 39:33Speaker 10: Like weird i didn't like it i kept waiting for
- 39:35Speaker 10: it i didn't like it made me uncomfortable i.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Did not like the fat guy just because i don't
- 39:42Speaker 1: like Jonah Hill.
- 39:44Speaker 2: She was going to say, I don't like fat people.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I don't like Jonah Hill. I don't like that character
- 39:50Speaker 1: in all those movies. I don't like the fat guy
- 39:52Speaker 1: character who's always, they always have that same personality. They're
- 39:56Speaker 1: always that same person, and I don't like that character
- 39:58Speaker 1: in the movie.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I mean, they treat him differently within the story. He's
- 40:02Speaker 2: not the quote-unquote fat guy, but at the same time,
- 40:04Speaker 2: he's still obnoxious. He's still almost as bad as Rick.
- 40:09Speaker 2: It's like the only one that's the nice one of
- 40:10Speaker 2: the bunch is Gary. And he's creepy in his own way.
- 40:13Speaker 2: I like Lucy.
- 40:14Speaker 1: If we just had an hour and a half.
- 40:16Speaker 10: Movie of just Lucy and Diane Franklin's character just driving around, whatever,
- 40:22Speaker 10: hanging out.
- 40:23Speaker 2: That might be more fun. Just watching them.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Doing each other's makeup.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Cruising around on the scooter. I want to watch that,
- 40:27Speaker 2: you know? Yeah.
- 40:28Speaker 1: This movie is uncomfortable. I'd rather have pillow fights or something.
- 40:32Speaker 2: That would be cute. That would be awesome.
- 40:34Speaker 1: But yeah, it was uncomfortable.
- 40:35Speaker 6: And any movie that makes me uncomfortable, I'm just like, duh.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And to make me uncomfortable, I mean, seriously.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you're... I wouldn't have sat and watched this movie
- 40:41Speaker 4: in the 80s. I wasn't concerned with this. I never
- 40:45Speaker 4: lived this.
- 40:47Speaker 7: No.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I never went through this time of trying to score
- 40:50Speaker 2: with chicks constantly. I certainly didn't either.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I was two when this movie came out. Seriously.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I was too busy trying to learn how to kill people.
- 40:58Speaker 14: As well.
- 40:58Speaker 2: All kids should.
- 40:59Speaker 4: I was not concerned with this at all, so I
- 41:01Speaker 4: really didn't identify with a lot of the stuff in
- 41:03Speaker 4: the movie.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I grew up with a lot of problems, so.
- 41:06Speaker 2: I think we all did.
- 41:08Speaker 19: So.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know.
- 41:11Speaker 11: But I mean, it's just such a weird mixture because
- 41:14Speaker 11: it really is completely this, this goofy eighties teen comedy.
- 41:19Speaker 2: And it's like, again, almost to its disadvantage. Like, I
- 41:23Speaker 2: think there's a much better story.
- 41:25Speaker 11: There and one that eventually gets told and one that
- 41:28Speaker 11: had they like take, cause most of that are like
- 41:30Speaker 11: just blocks. I mean, they're completely separate scenes of, you know, the,
- 41:35Speaker 11: You could almost have, like, the three girls part. That
- 41:37Speaker 11: sort of fits with them. But then, like, the hooker
- 41:40Speaker 11: story is creepy and could be taken out and wouldn't
- 41:43Speaker 11: hurt anything one way or the other.
- 41:44Speaker 1: And you'd have to have the images of her.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Yeah. But, I mean, all of them are so self-contained.
- 41:49Speaker 2: And the fact that he had sex.
- 41:50Speaker 1: With her without a condom and she was just so nasty.
- 41:52Speaker 2: But it was the 80s! I don't care! We didn't
- 41:55Speaker 2: have all that shit. We didn't have to worry about AIDS.
- 41:58Speaker 2: We didn't have to worry about anything.
- 42:00Speaker 6: Syphilis still existed. Herpes still existed.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but when you were... When you were in high school,
- 42:07Speaker 2: you didn't think about that. I mean, pregnancy, you know, yeah,
- 42:11Speaker 2: you kind of had to worry about that, but then
- 42:12Speaker 2: you had to pull and pray, you know, or maybe
- 42:14Speaker 2: you got knocked out, big deal. But for some reason,
- 42:18Speaker 2: you still were kind of naive in the 80s. Other
- 42:21Speaker 2: people got crabs, you didn't. If you were.
- 42:23Speaker 11: Dealing with nothing but high school kids, most of them
- 42:26Speaker 11: haven't done it before, so that whole little group of kids,
- 42:29Speaker 11: at that point, it was still very naive, as we said, so...
- 42:32Speaker 11: All those kids were, like, clean. So you didn't have
- 42:35Speaker 11: to worry about it. Until you go out and start
- 42:37Speaker 11: screwing hookers. That's when you get nasty looking hookers.
- 42:41Speaker 2: When you walk away from her, you throw up. That's
- 42:43Speaker 2: how bad of a hooker she is. And I said,
- 42:45Speaker 2: I don't blame her.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Yeah, her sexy pillow talk. Come on, fatty.
- 42:49Speaker 2: What you calling that? Fat ass. Thanks, I'm paying you
- 42:52Speaker 2: $ 30 for this. You could at.
- 42:53Speaker 6: Least be a little nicer.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Really?
- 42:55Speaker 6: Repeat customers.
- 42:56Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 2: But, yeah, I think that's, again, I don't think kids
- 43:01Speaker 2: would have. I mean, not that it was even an issue, really. But, yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 2: I mean, it's different if you're a sailor. If you're
- 43:06Speaker 2: like Paco.
- 43:07Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Paco had a whole thing of condoms. Paco knew. Yeah.
- 43:10Speaker 11: You know, a little more experienced guys probably were using condoms.
- 43:15Speaker 11: These swingers from the 70s.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, maybe they grew up in the 80s. Started,
- 43:20Speaker 2: but yeah, high school kids, probably not. Yeah, high school kids,
- 43:22Speaker 2: you weren't running to the drugstore to try to sneak
- 43:24Speaker 2: and get condoms. Yeah, it was too embarrassing to buy them.
- 43:26Speaker 1: How awesome was that drugstore guy?
- 43:28Speaker 2: Oh, the drugstore guy was awesome. He was fucking hilarious.
- 43:30Speaker 2: That's what I said.
- 43:31Speaker 11: I was like, in this situation, that's the drugstore guy
- 43:33Speaker 11: you want to get. Not the one that's like, well,
- 43:35Speaker 11: I'm telling your mother, you know, you're the... price check
- 43:38Speaker 11: on Krabs Medicine. We need a price check.
- 43:42Speaker 2: But I can handle the guy laughing at me. That's fine.
- 43:45Speaker 2: You get that, again, in other 80s comedies.
- 43:48Speaker 11: You get that same thing of the scene of the
- 43:49Speaker 11: guy trying to buy condoms and the guy calls him
- 43:52Speaker 11: out and makes fun of him or he's like.
- 43:54Speaker 2: The preacher there at the same time. He's the cool
- 43:57Speaker 2: 70s druggist, man. He'd been around a long time ago.
- 44:00Speaker 2: He knew what was up and he's like, you kids already? Krabs?
- 44:05Speaker 8: Losers.
- 44:08Speaker 2: And then he gave them stuff. He's like, I don't worry.
- 44:10Speaker 2: You'll be fine. Here, take this. Four bucks. I got
- 44:12Speaker 2: grabs back in the Philippines. That guy was pretty awesome.
- 44:17Speaker 1: And then he can hang out with Lucy and Diane
- 44:20Speaker 1: in the movie that I'm going to make.
- 44:23Speaker 11: He'll sell them their makeup when they go and put
- 44:26Speaker 11: makeup on each other.
- 44:28Speaker 2: So who was the main guy? And again, I can't
- 44:30Speaker 2: remember his name. Gary. Gary was just so unbelievably funny.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Fucking emo. You got on my nerves because all I
- 44:37Speaker 2: do is cry over this chick about the whole movie. Dude,
- 44:40Speaker 2: she doesn't fucking want you, okay? Just give it up.
- 44:44Speaker 11: Don't worry about it. Yeah, the first two-thirds, I would
- 44:46Speaker 11: kind of, yeah. By the end, it inserts into a
- 44:48Speaker 11: different area. Oh, he starts getting fucking creepy towards it.
- 44:51Speaker 11: That first two-thirds, it is like, okay, dude, just get
- 44:54Speaker 11: over it.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Deal with it.
- 44:55Speaker 11: I mean, it's like, yeah, it's going to suck, but
- 44:57Speaker 11: you need to at least let go of it. You
- 44:59Speaker 11: might not get over it, but get away from it.
- 45:02Speaker 11: He's acting like a chick. He's writing her name and
- 45:04Speaker 11: his trapper keeper.
- 45:05Speaker 2: That's the part that any guy that would have done
- 45:08Speaker 2: that would have got their ass kicked. Oh, yeah, definitely. Definitely.
- 45:11Speaker 11: Probably more so than measuring another guy's penis. Were you
- 45:15Speaker 11: writing Karen on your notebook? He was at the point.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Where he just crossed over into creepy stalker territory. Well,
- 45:22Speaker 2: he started off that way. Because I remember, again, watching this.
- 45:25Speaker 2: He left the tire. Yeah, that's what I thought. That
- 45:28Speaker 2: first time, that's like 15, 20 minutes into the movie.
- 45:31Speaker 2: He's already letting the... the air out of her tire
- 45:33Speaker 2: so that she'll have a flat so that he'll have
- 45:36Speaker 2: to give her a ride to school. I was like,
- 45:38Speaker 2: this is all very premeditated. This is very creepy. And
- 45:42Speaker 2: he does a callback on his own bad joke with the,
- 45:46Speaker 2: you want to buy a meatball sub?
- 45:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:48Speaker 2: And then delivers it in that creepy, you know, way.
- 45:52Speaker 2: That's fucking drunk. He was drunk at that point. Yeah,
- 45:54Speaker 2: but it's still creepy. I don't care if it's drunk
- 45:56Speaker 2: or not, it's still creepy.
- 45:57Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Again, he makes a lot of bad decisions along the way.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Don't strain your eyeballs. Hey, do you know who she is?
- 46:04Speaker 10: Which one?
- 46:06Speaker 1: The one with the turkey streak in her hair?
- 46:08Speaker 2: No, the other one, turkey. I think her name is Karen.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Karen what?
- 46:13Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 46:13Speaker 2: She just moved here about a week ago. Hey, can
- 46:16Speaker 2: you find out where she lives? Sure, no sweat. For
- 46:21Speaker 2: a small fee, I think I can find out.
- 46:23Speaker 11: But, yeah, he's definitely got a very stalker thing going on.
- 46:27Speaker 2: I was kind of hoping he'd just get drunk and, like,
- 46:29Speaker 2: his buddy lets him drive home because in the 80s
- 46:32Speaker 2: we didn't have, like.
- 46:32Speaker 9: Early 80s.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Which he did. I don't think Mad was around until
- 46:36Speaker 2: maybe late 80s. I don't know.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I can't remember.
- 46:38Speaker 2: It might have just been starting, but, yeah, I don't
- 46:40Speaker 2: remember hearing about it until later. Yeah, you don't remember.
- 46:42Speaker 2: There wasn't the car in the football field of don't drink.
- 46:47Speaker 2: They show the mangled car in the football store. He
- 46:49Speaker 2: got drunk in and killed him and his girlfriend. They
- 46:53Speaker 2: didn't have that back then. It was just.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Your friends went to parties, they got drunk, and then
- 46:58Speaker 2: they just went home.
- 47:00Speaker 8: You know?
- 47:02Speaker 10: And.
- 47:02Speaker 2: I don't even know how... I don't have any fucking
- 47:04Speaker 2: idea where I'm going with this.
- 47:06Speaker 9: So.
- 47:07Speaker 2: You were hoping he'd go... I was hoping he would
- 47:09Speaker 2: just fucking plow into a bridge embankment and kill himself.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Because I'm tired of him crying. It probably would have, yeah. Yeah.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I was annoyed the whole time he was... Right. I wanted...
- 47:20Speaker 2: There were several times... chick. I wanted him to snap.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I wanted him to go too far and do something.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Because I'm like, you know, if I'm drinking Jack, I'm
- 47:28Speaker 2: fighting every motherfucker in there, which is why I don't
- 47:31Speaker 2: drink Jack. If you're drinking it out of the bottle. Oh,
- 47:34Speaker 2: fuck yeah. Right up. And she walks in and just
- 47:36Speaker 2: picks up that bottle. There'll be fucking bloody noses. So
- 47:39Speaker 2: if nothing else, just, like, lose it and just Just
- 47:42Speaker 2: take a shot at Rick. Yeah, I was waiting for
- 47:45Speaker 2: him at any point.
- 47:45Speaker 11: He should have taken a swing at him right there.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Just fucking lose it. Not even if he deserved it
- 47:50Speaker 2: at that point. Just because he was drunk and pissed off,
- 47:52Speaker 2: it would have at least been somewhat realistic. Yeah, but
- 47:55Speaker 2: he didn't do anything.
- 47:56Speaker 9: No.
- 47:56Speaker 2: He just got in his car and drove off like
- 47:59Speaker 2: a little bitch. So, yeah. I mean, there's a point
- 48:02Speaker 2: where you need to kind of like, okay, let it go, dude.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Just move on. She's hooking up with your buddy you know.
- 48:08Speaker 2: At that point, it's already... it's already done. It doesn't matter.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Nothing good will come from this. Well, plus, if your
- 48:15Speaker 2: buddy hooks up with a girl, even if he knows
- 48:18Speaker 2: that you really like her, It's done. You move on.
- 48:23Speaker 2: You find somebody else. You move past it. I mean, really,
- 48:26Speaker 2: as much as we don't like Rick in this movie,
- 48:28Speaker 2: it wasn't his fault. He really did not... He didn't
- 48:30Speaker 2: know they even knew each other. Yeah, right. So it
- 48:33Speaker 2: wasn't his fault. He should have just been like, well, okay,
- 48:35Speaker 2: he got to her first, I guess. You know, dibs.
- 48:38Speaker 2: I've had friends like that before. I've had friends do that.
- 48:41Speaker 2: And it was just like, you know, I had... There
- 48:43Speaker 2: was this girl that I liked and I was trying
- 48:45Speaker 2: to talk to her and we were kind of blah, blah, blah.
- 48:48Speaker 2: And then I kind of got shuffled off into the
- 48:49Speaker 2: friend zone because I spent more time talking and not
- 48:52Speaker 2: time acting. And he jumped on the shit. That happens
- 48:56Speaker 2: a lot. And I was like, what the fuck, dude?
- 48:58Speaker 2: And he was like, hey, man, I made the move.
- 49:00Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, well, whatever. Good for you.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Move on. All right, I'll find somebody else. Sucks for me.
- 49:05Speaker 2: You might go home and cry into your pillow, but
- 49:07Speaker 2: you ain't going to be a little one. No, I
- 49:08Speaker 2: didn't cry into my pillow. But at that point, you
- 49:11Speaker 2: need to wake up and realize, you know what? Rose
- 49:13Speaker 2: is right here. She's pretty damn hot. And she's totally
- 49:18Speaker 2: into me. Yeah. Out of her stank. Any kid that
- 49:21Speaker 2: she was halfway attractive and she was willing, more than
- 49:25Speaker 2: halfway attractive, she was good looking and willing. And she
- 49:28Speaker 2: had a good voice. Any kid in high school would
- 49:31Speaker 2: immediately stop worrying about the girl he was fighting over.
- 49:35Speaker 2: Not necessarily, but he should have.
- 49:37Speaker 11: He should have gotten over that's the thing not necessarily
- 49:39Speaker 11: right away yeah there's a lot of as willing as she.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Was though see I can kind of understand him on
- 49:45Speaker 2: that point because when I was in high school there
- 49:47Speaker 2: was this chick that was completely into me so much
- 49:50Speaker 2: to the point that she was sending me dirty notes
- 49:52Speaker 2: and it scared me off yeah because I was just
- 49:56Speaker 2: like woo you know back off maybe you should watch
- 49:59Speaker 2: his friend banger first maybe.
- 50:01Speaker 4: That's what I should watch he would probably have enjoyed
- 50:04Speaker 4: that Gary had issues.
- 50:07Speaker 1: He did. He had all kinds of issues. He was
- 50:09Speaker 1: a big pervert and stalker.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Watching them at the football stadium and just going
- 50:17Speaker 2: and moping. And then pretending like he didn't know.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Call him dude a liar. Dude, you watched him. Are
- 50:24Speaker 1: you in denial?
- 50:24Speaker 2: Yeah, he's completely in denial. I think he is, yeah.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Like I said, he's got issues. He's got a lot
- 50:30Speaker 2: of issues. See, I'm waiting for the... second part of
- 50:32Speaker 2: this movie to come out, where he snaps completely.
- 50:35Speaker 1: And kills Rick.
- 50:36Speaker 2: And kills Rick. Kills that whole room of the party. Yeah,
- 50:39Speaker 2: you know? I was waiting for that to happen, but
- 50:41Speaker 2: then the credits rolled, and I was like, you've got
- 50:42Speaker 2: to be fucking kidding me.
- 50:43Speaker 1: No, credits fucking came out of nowhere!
- 50:45Speaker 11: I know!
- 50:46Speaker 2: I mean, you've got all this fucking belt up of anger,
- 50:48Speaker 2: and I'm waiting for this fucking release of just craziness,
- 50:51Speaker 2: and nothing happens. Okay, so I guess with that, we
- 50:54Speaker 2: should full-on spoiler out, head into the end of this movie,
- 50:56Speaker 2: because we already pretty much are. Sarah? What's wrong?
- 51:09Speaker 1: This has got nothing.
- 51:10Speaker 4: To do with you.
- 51:12Speaker 14: I saw you two arguing in there.
- 51:15Speaker 6: It's over between us, so it doesn't matter.
- 51:17Speaker 2: So why are you crying then?
- 51:20Speaker 1: Look, I'll be alright.
- 51:23Speaker 7: Relax.
- 51:28Speaker 2: You know how couples have their moments.
- 51:31Speaker 8: Cool off.
- 51:31Speaker 2: I know it. Don't worry about it.
- 51:34Speaker 1: I really don't care what he does.
- 51:36Speaker 5: Hey, we'll get over it.
- 51:38Speaker 1: I'm... I'm pregnant.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Okay. Hey, don't worry.
- 51:54Speaker 1: It's gonna be all right.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like I said, it's such a fun,
- 51:59Speaker 2: zany 80s comedy to the point where, like I said,
- 52:02Speaker 2: I wouldn't have liked it at all. It was another Meatballs. Well,
- 52:07Speaker 2: not even that.
- 52:08Speaker 11: Meatballs is a pretty good movie. It was a knockoff Porky's.
- 52:11Speaker 11: It was like a Screwballs or a Hot. It was
- 52:14Speaker 11: like one of those. It was like a late night, showtime,
- 52:18Speaker 11: nothing else is on, there's boobies in it, let's finish
- 52:21Speaker 11: watching this. It was one of those, and it's one
- 52:23Speaker 11: of those I very much would have totally dismissed had
- 52:26Speaker 11: I not gotten to the end of the movie.
- 52:28Speaker 2: And I think that last third of the movie... It
- 52:30Speaker 2: takes a dark turn. It takes such a dark turn.
- 52:33Speaker 1: And it still made me uncomfortable.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Yeah, even more so. Like, rightfully so. Like, the first
- 52:39Speaker 2: half is just, ew, gross, gross, uncomfortable. This is, fuck, stop.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Stop showing that. Stop doing that. Stop making these decisions.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Some of the scenes... Yeah, yeah. Because she ends up
- 52:50Speaker 2: breaking up with Rick, because Rick doesn't want to have
- 52:52Speaker 2: anything to do with her. Rick's a douchebag. Yeah, Rick
- 52:55Speaker 2: breaks up with her.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Tells her to fuck off.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and so, you know, Gary being the, I'm so
- 53:00Speaker 2: obsessed with you, goes after her in the hallway. What's wrong?
- 53:03Speaker 2: Did he break up with you? I saw you guys fighting.
- 53:06Speaker 2: It'll be okay. Sometimes couples have fights.
- 53:08Speaker 9: Right.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Wanting, kind of like, it'll be okay, you guys can
- 53:11Speaker 2: get back together. I hope they don't get back together.
- 53:13Speaker 2: But he was playing nice.
- 53:15Speaker 6: Kind of like in Seinfeld, it's like, I'm here for you.
- 53:18Speaker 2: I'm here. Exactly. That's a good move. And then you
- 53:23Speaker 2: find out that Karen is pregnant. Exactly. And then it
- 53:28Speaker 2: turns into an after-school special. Kind of.
- 53:30Speaker 11: Like I said, a very disturbing after-school special.
- 53:34Speaker 2: If Meredith Baxter-Bernie was in it. The straps.
- 53:37Speaker 1: The straps is what got me the most.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yeah, the strap that was so horrible. That's all a
- 53:43Speaker 2: little too close to home. That's a little too real.
- 53:45Speaker 2: They go through the stage where he's consoling her, and
- 53:48Speaker 2: then he says, it's going to be okay, because I'm
- 53:50Speaker 2: going to take care of you. And then it goes
- 53:53Speaker 2: into the abortion clinic montage. Well, just that lady behind there.
- 54:00Speaker 2: That lady behind the counter there that's giving them the speech,
- 54:03Speaker 2: she was creepy, too. And, like, frightening. Her white hair. Yeah, like,
- 54:07Speaker 2: the whole thing really... She was cold, callous.
- 54:10Speaker 11: Which, again, the whole situation at that... So, I mean,
- 54:13Speaker 11: that thing almost threw a really good version of just, like,
- 54:15Speaker 11: immersing you in the horribleness of this entire scenario. It's, like,
- 54:20Speaker 11: it really, like, dealing with that lady and her, like...
- 54:24Speaker 11: Telling you how, you know, you could have avoided this.
- 54:26Speaker 11: You know, that does you a lot of fucking good now.
- 54:28Speaker 2: For your few seconds of pleasure, you could have avoided this.
- 54:31Speaker 11: And then turning around and breaking it down to, oh,
- 54:33Speaker 11: cash only. You know, it's all about the money for us.
- 54:35Speaker 11: You know, we'll take care of this problem for you, but,
- 54:37Speaker 11: you know.
- 54:37Speaker 2: And when she gets the cash, she thumbs through it.
- 54:40Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Almost like she's in love with the money. Or like
- 54:42Speaker 2: she's a gangster, you know. It's weird the way that
- 54:46Speaker 2: she operates all together.
- 54:48Speaker 10: Oh, and the scene where Diane's actually getting ready for it.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Oh, that creeped me out.
- 54:52Speaker 2: The creepy doctor.
- 54:53Speaker 6: Where she's like naked and crying.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Yeah, the doctor is in the room while she's dressing.
- 54:58Speaker 2: That wouldn't happen. And it's so creepy for her to
- 55:02Speaker 2: be there crying and the doctor's just going on about
- 55:04Speaker 2: his business.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Putting his latex gloves on really slowly and they've got
- 55:08Speaker 4: all of his instruments laid out there.
- 55:09Speaker 2: And then there's pizza.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:12Speaker 2: That's a cheese pizza. There's an odd juxtaposition there.
- 55:15Speaker 19: Oh, yeah.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. Where he's still trying to get money
- 55:19Speaker 2: to pay for this abortion by stealing it from his mom.
- 55:22Speaker 2: I had a doctor that was creepy once.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I went to the doctor and he actually unbuttoned my
- 55:25Speaker 1: shirt for me. That was all kind of creepy.
- 55:28Speaker 2: That's not right. How old were you?
- 55:31Speaker 1: I was like 18 or 19. I never went back
- 55:34Speaker 1: to the U.S.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Crossing a line. You probably could have gotten some money
- 55:38Speaker 2: out of him.
- 55:39Speaker 1: That was creepy. At least he weren't a child.
- 55:43Speaker 2: After he got his hands out of the icebox. You know,
- 55:45Speaker 2: that's where they keep them. Along with the tools.
- 55:48Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 55:49Speaker 4: If you're a guy, you know, gotta, when they handle
- 55:51Speaker 4: your wobblies, they get their hands right out of the icebox.
- 55:54Speaker 2: I swear to God, the doctor's hands are always about
- 55:57Speaker 2: negative ten degrees. Shit shrivels up and goes right up inside.
- 56:01Speaker 2: And you lose the contest, then. Yeah, right.
- 56:03Speaker 1: But yeah, the whole scene with, yeah, her stripping animal.
- 56:06Speaker 2: That was so disturbing.
- 56:07Speaker 1: And her laying there crying.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Yeah. And then they're strapping her legs in.
- 56:11Speaker 1: I know, the straps.
- 56:12Speaker 2: I was like, oh, Lord. And putting her under, I
- 56:15Speaker 2: don't know why that disturbed me, too, but That whole thing.
- 56:19Speaker 2: They try to make it as dark and sinister as
- 56:24Speaker 2: it is.
- 56:25Speaker 11: And then we've got the other half of him doing
- 56:29Speaker 11: anything he can to take care of it. In a way, yes,
- 56:32Speaker 11: he's creepy and he's sort of playing the situation. But
- 56:35Speaker 11: on the other hand, he also kind of is a
- 56:36Speaker 11: good friend.
- 56:37Speaker 2: He sticks by her. He helps her out in a
- 56:39Speaker 2: way that some people might disagree with, but he helps
- 56:42Speaker 2: her out. He sticks by her. That's why, but at
- 56:46Speaker 2: the same time, it's also like, he's still, he's still,
- 56:50Speaker 2: being there for her when Rick is a jackass and
- 56:53Speaker 2: left her to deal with it on her own. He's
- 56:55Speaker 2: doing it self-servingly, kind of.
- 56:57Speaker 1: What happens if he doesn't have the cash? Do they, like,
- 56:59Speaker 1: undo it?
- 57:01Speaker 2: I was thinking... They put the baby back in. Yeah,
- 57:03Speaker 2: I was like, what kind of... The doctor gets her pregnant. Wow.
- 57:06Speaker 2: He definitely did. I was thinking that.
- 57:09Speaker 11: I was like, what kind of abortion clinic lets you
- 57:11Speaker 11: pay after?
- 57:12Speaker 9: Right.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Seems like a bad situation.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Teenagers too. You don't trust teenagers.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Why did it take until like 7.30 at night to
- 57:20Speaker 2: do everything? Bring her back at 6.30 at night. Late
- 57:22Speaker 2: night abortion clinic.
- 57:24Speaker 1: That's when you had to come pick her up.
- 57:27Speaker 2: She had to sleep at home. It's a drive-thru abortion clinic.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Then she wakes up and giggles. What the hell? She's
- 57:34Speaker 2: this creepy.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Guy standing there with a tree and an orange.
- 57:36Speaker 6: Yeah, what the.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Fuck is with the tree? Greg's assessment of it. What
- 57:40Speaker 2: was it? That thanks for ruining Christmas and oranges from
- 57:45Speaker 2: now on. He brings in a Christmas tree and oranges
- 57:49Speaker 2: to pick her up at the abortion clinic. So her
- 57:51Speaker 2: first thoughts when she wakes up, abortion, Christmas, oranges. It's
- 57:58Speaker 2: Christmas time. Every morning she opens the refrigerator, orange juice,
- 58:01Speaker 2: and she's just crying. Weeping. Every Christmas the rest of
- 58:06Speaker 2: her life is ruined. It's not going to remind you
- 58:09Speaker 2: of it. But then it even takes an even creepier turn.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I don't know, because it doesn't really seem like she
- 58:15Speaker 1: thinks things through. She seems kind of flippant. She goes
- 58:19Speaker 1: through all this, and she goes back to him anyway,
- 58:21Speaker 1: so maybe it's not going to have any impact on
- 58:23Speaker 1: her whatsoever with the oranges.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Maybe not.
- 58:25Speaker 11: She's got a weird character to deal with anyway, because
- 58:29Speaker 11: she also is completely clueless the entire time. Granted, I
- 58:35Speaker 11: guess you get yourself into those situations, but seriously... gary
- 58:39Speaker 11: is not really subtle as time goes on and she
- 58:42Speaker 11: is like oblivious to the fact that you know by
- 58:44Speaker 11: the time they slept together and gary goes storming off
- 58:47Speaker 11: and she's like what's wrong with him like okay really
- 58:50Speaker 11: i was like come on yeah i would think most
- 58:53Speaker 11: girls at this point would at least go.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Okay something's going on here but so she's got kind
- 58:58Speaker 2: of a weird character to play anyway because she has
- 59:00Speaker 2: to go through the entire movie being completely oblivious to
- 59:04Speaker 2: what's going on right next to her, right in the
- 59:06Speaker 2: middle of all this friendship, quote-unquote, going on. He's, you know,
- 59:10Speaker 2: very obviously obsessed with her, and creepily at times.
- 59:14Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 59:14Speaker 2: I was in love with you the first time I
- 59:16Speaker 2: saw you. Yeah, that's kind of crossing the line. I mean,
- 59:20Speaker 2: he means it sweet, but it doesn't come off sweet. No,
- 59:23Speaker 2: it comes out very, very, very creepy. I mean, the
- 59:26Speaker 2: first one kind of does.
- 59:27Speaker 11: He just tells her he loves her, and that's kind of, okay,
- 59:29Speaker 11: that actually could have made this situation work, and she
- 59:33Speaker 11: might have liked you at this point. You've been there
- 59:35Speaker 11: for her, and now you say you love her. But the, yeah,
- 59:37Speaker 11: the I've loved you since the first time I saw you.
- 59:40Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 59:40Speaker 2: I didn't know how to tell you. It's like, okay,
- 59:42Speaker 2: you're creepy. Well, she puts him in the friend zone. Like,
- 59:45Speaker 2: I think before that doesn't.
- 59:46Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 59:47Speaker 2: You've been such a friend to me. You've been such
- 59:49Speaker 2: a friend to me. It's like, I wouldn't drop $ 250
- 59:51Speaker 2: on that. That's for sure.
- 59:54Speaker 11: I sold everything I own. I'm now in debt to
- 59:56Speaker 11: my boss. I've ran around for a day trying to
- 59:59Speaker 11: squirrel together $ 250.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: To pay for my... To pay for your abortion that
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: my best friend got you knocked off and went off
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: and ditched you. I did all of this and now
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: I'm your friend. Sucks to be you too, buddy. And
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: then spends his next $ 80 on jewelry for her. Which
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: he has engraved. Can't even give it to anybody else.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Can't take it back.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Because that's how you spell Karen. Because the jeweler is
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: too fucking stupid to know that Karen's not spelled with
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: a C. Or a G.
- 1:00:32Speaker 21: No shit, fucking Sherlock. What do you think it was
- 1:00:34Speaker 21: spelled with? I'll make sure I don't spell it with
- 1:00:36Speaker 21: a G. If anybody spells Karen with a C, they
- 1:00:41Speaker 21: just need to be beat. If the parent actually names
- 1:00:44Speaker 21: their kid, they need to be beat. If I was
- 1:00:45Speaker 21: the jeweler, I would have spelled it with a C.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: If we have any listeners whose name is Karen with
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: a C, we are sorry.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: I want to punch your parents. It's not your fault anyway.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Go smack your parents for that. And the jeweler doesn't
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: even look at him like it's anything else. The jeweler's like, oh, okay,
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: I was ready for it. He's just like, oh, let
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: me write that down. You know, I wanted a look.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: I wanted a look. Like, I'm going to fucking hit you, kid,
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: if you don't get the fuck out of my store. Right. Well,
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: and then, you know, since we've gone and done the
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: full reveal, and I said it while we were watching it,
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: when he sees them and they're like, hey, no big deal,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: we're in love, back together, it should have just turned
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: into a horror movie or some kind of revenge. And
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: he should have just not... got in the car and
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: cried like an asshole. He should have just picked up
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: a knife and killed everybody.
- 1:01:31Speaker 11: Should have in the movie that we want to see,
- 1:01:33Speaker 11: but in the real world, that's exactly what happens.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: He drove off crying.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Then the fucking credits start. And more Lionel Richie. Yeah,
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: I was waiting for him to punch the fuck out
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: of Rick.
- 1:01:46Speaker 11: See, I don't see it in that scene. That scene
- 1:01:48Speaker 11: plays pretty true to me. That scene is, you know what,
- 1:01:51Speaker 11: you've gotten screwed over by life. It's like, you know what,
- 1:01:54Speaker 11: this is how things get down. Or at least he
- 1:01:55Speaker 11: didn't even give a.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: You know what, fuck you, fuck you, and fuck you.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: How many people were there? There's three. I had fucking twice.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Fuck you for dead baby. The other friend too. You,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: the dude in the sunglasses. Fuck you. He didn't even
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: let out with the, you know, you fucking cut. I
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: paid for your goddamn abortion and now you're back with
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: this fucking jerk. What the fuck is wrong with you?
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: He just stood there and cried. He stood there and
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: cried and drove off.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: You don't let them see you cry. They will know
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you're a bitch.
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: You have to think of what the sequel is going
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: to be like. He's going to stalk her and like,
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: Leave dead baby fetuses.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Oh, dear. See, now that would be a good sequel.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: That's not going to happen. That would be the first
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: sequel that trumped the original. That would be awesome. The
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Godfather 2 of dead baby fetuses.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: We're going to get so much hate mail over dead babies.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: I do not condone dead babies.
- 1:02:50Speaker 10: What?
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: You do not condone dead babies.
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: I actually love babies.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I love babies.
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: Living babies.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: So she's saying she hates dead babies. Dead babies make
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: me cry.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: This is Marlena, not Misty.
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: Dead babies make me cry.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I like living babies.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: But that's, I mean, that's the thing. That final scene, like,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: that's the part that, like, as a kid, watching this movie, like, haha,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: dumb sex comedy, and then this happens, and you're like, traumatized,
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: and just like, again. What about the movies? Yeah, I
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: was just like, how do you carry on as a
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: kid after that? Like, how do you go get into
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: any relationship after that? I was like, I think this
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: scarred me for life. That explains a lot. It does.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: It was like, I think this did it. But that's
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: high school, and that's high school chicks. I love him,
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I hate him, he knocked me up, but I'm back
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: together with him because it's okay.
- 1:03:42Speaker 11: In a way, that's what I liked about this movie.
- 1:03:45Speaker 11: As awkward as the rest of it is, as much
- 1:03:46Speaker 11: as I really don't care about the goofy sex comedy,
- 1:03:49Speaker 11: most of it, there's moments that are funny.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Or the song. Are you ready for the sex, girls?
- 1:03:55Speaker 19: What?
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: That's a little bit of a song.
- 1:03:56Speaker 17: But....
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I mean, I think that's what I ended up liking
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: about it, is that it ended like that. You know?
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Okay, it's... That pissed me off.
- 1:04:06Speaker 11: It's gonna piss you off, but I was like, in
- 1:04:08Speaker 11: any other lame bullshit Hollywood movie, they would have made
- 1:04:11Speaker 11: them live happily ever after, and they would have gone
- 1:04:13Speaker 11: on a ski.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Trip themselves, and they... show pictures over the credits of
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: them raising their children.
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: Bullshit.
- 1:04:19Speaker 11: You know what happens in the real world? She goes
- 1:04:21Speaker 11: back to the guy who knocked her up and ditched her.
- 1:04:23Speaker 11: That's what happens in the real world.
- 1:04:25Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: You know, do you think the director wanted to do
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: that kind of a movie of that real I hate
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: and this is the way life really is and sold
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: it as a teen sex comedy and then, well, here's
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: the first half of the movie and then slipped that
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: in at the last second?
- 1:04:43Speaker 11: Actually, I know the real answer, but I'm thinking of,
- 1:04:46Speaker 11: in a way, that would almost be genius, too, to
- 1:04:48Speaker 11: be like, okay, let's, you know, kids don't want to
- 1:04:50Speaker 11: see this serious part.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Let's, you know, let's.
- 1:04:52Speaker 11: Bait them with this teen sex comedy and.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Then, like, sucker you in. With the serious shit.
- 1:04:59Speaker 11: It's actually, the real, but the truth of it is
- 1:05:01Speaker 11: way more sad. The truth of it is, this is
- 1:05:05Speaker 11: based on the director's life.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: Holy shit, really?
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Is he the Gary character? He's the Gary, I'm assuming.
- 1:05:10Speaker 19: I mean.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: This is based on real life events.
- 1:05:14Speaker 11: I'm assuming all the forced in stupid sex comedy stuff
- 1:05:17Speaker 11: doesn't happen. I'm assuming the real part is that he
- 1:05:22Speaker 11: paid for his friend's baby to be aborted and then
- 1:05:24Speaker 11: the girl went back.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: With his jackass friend and dumped him. That's the real part.
- 1:05:27Speaker 11: That's the real world. And I was like, holy shit,
- 1:05:31Speaker 11: this is a real movie. I was like, this is
- 1:05:34Speaker 11: what separates it from the other bullshit sex comedies of
- 1:05:37Speaker 11: the 80s.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Did he really sleep with that nasty prostitute?
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: I hope that part was forced in by a screenwriter
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: or something. You know, he probably did. But he probably did, yeah.
- 1:05:45Speaker 11: Because otherwise, that wouldn't be in there. And the other stuff,
- 1:05:50Speaker 11: I mean, I hope they got the penis contest is inserted.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: In as fake. but yeah like the prostitute part I
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: think probably yeah I mean that is one of those.
- 1:06:00Speaker 20: Okay we gotta get you laid you know that probably
- 1:06:04Speaker 20: frightening and the thing is the way that he portrays
- 1:06:06Speaker 20: her as frightening as he does probably does mean it
- 1:06:08Speaker 20: happened because he's probably like.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Oh my god that was a horrifying you know that
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: was the worst night of my.
- 1:06:13Speaker 20: Life horrifying way to lose your virginity kid in the
- 1:06:18Speaker 20: basement of some fucking abandoned warehouse come here.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: Take your pants off let me get it hard What
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: the fuck's your problem? That's so dark and depressing and
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: horrifying that it probably really happens. When you're in there,
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: you gotta fuck me. What an ugly prostitute is calling
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: you pathetic. Yeah. Again, there's life for you. That's how
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: things really happen. That's not movies.
- 1:06:41Speaker 11: Nowadays, there's people that pay for that, you know? That'd
- 1:06:45Speaker 11: be different if he was asking for it. He didn't
- 1:06:48Speaker 11: ask for that. You had to pay extra if you wanted.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Would've been 50 bucks.
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: No.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: So, yeah, I don't know. That's the part that really, like,
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: the ending in and of itself, it will floor you
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: if you don't see it coming, which you don't.
- 1:07:00Speaker 11: Yeah, I didn't see it coming. Out of left field,
- 1:07:02Speaker 11: just sucker punched in the gut. But on top of that, yeah,
- 1:07:06Speaker 11: to find out that it's all based on the director's
- 1:07:08Speaker 11: actual life is horrifying.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Does he have a normal relationship nowadays?
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Probably not.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: Probably not. Would you? He's still stalking that girl. Right.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: I made this movie about you!
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: No, she's buried in his backyard by now.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's right. He didn't make the sequel yet.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Boaz Davidson's in jail. Actually, he went on to make many,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: many other movies. And a lot of TV work.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I never want to see this movie again.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: But that's the thing. I went for years and didn't, like, again,
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: I may have only seen it that one time before recently.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: And it stuck with me every, like, probably not a
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: year would go by and I'd go, God, remember that
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: one movie? Like, I don't even, like, as years went on,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: I didn't even know for sure what the title was.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: I just remembered that end of, oh, God, remember when
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: she got the abortion? And then she went back with
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: that guy and then he drove off in the credits. And, like,
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: it's overwhelming.
- 1:08:03Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: It really sells it as a American pie. yeah kind
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: of movie that hey it's just going to be fun and.
- 1:08:09Speaker 22: I hated that movie but but there's a market for
- 1:08:12Speaker 22: that and that's what they were going for uh we're
- 1:08:16Speaker 22: gonna get him laid and we're gonna have you know
- 1:08:18Speaker 22: that's you know we're gonna have fun and talk about
- 1:08:21Speaker 22: drugs and it's gonna be fun we're gonna get him.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Laid yeah yeah it's all it is it's all it's
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: about in high school that shit doesn't actually exist and
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: yeah you know and this sort of like pulls the
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: rug out it's like okay, this is what school is like,
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: and this is what high school is like, and this
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: is what getting laid is like. No, here's really what happens.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: You get knocked up, you have an abortion, you get
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: left dumped. That's how life really happens. It's like suggesting
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: the crying game to one of your friends who's looking
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: for something that's got some hot chicks in it and
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: maybe some porn.
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Which he needs the crying game, and then he watches it,
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: and then he's like, you motherfucker, you fucking goddamn bastard.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: I sat there with my fucking Kleenex watching. this movie,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: and it was a fucking god! Spoiler alert. If you
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: don't know that by now.
- 1:09:06Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: So this is right after that movie came out. Since
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: they blew it on the Oscars that year, I guess
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: it's our own fault. That guy hated me for the
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: longest time. Okay, that makes it the best story ever.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: He was telling me, he goes, dude, man, I got
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: to rent a movie this weekend. I need something with
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: hot chicks in it. I need something. I was like, dude,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: The Crying Game. It's got the hottest black chicken that
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: I've ever seen. Fucking hot. He's like, she's getting naked.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: I was like, oh, dude, she gets fucking naked.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: She gets naked.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: She gets full funnel fucking naked. He was like, dude,
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: I am on it. He probably slow-mo'd through that. Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: He was like, oh. He told me, you gotta be
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: fucking naked. Fucking shit me, you fucking asshole, you goddamn motherfucker.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: I had my fucking pants down. I'm fucking jacking it
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: to a goddamn guy. You motherfucker. I fucking ate your guts.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: And I was just sitting there laughing. It was the
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: funniest fucking moment of my life. And now he's gay.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: I don't know if he is or not. I don't
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: think that technically... Turned him.
- 1:10:11Speaker 7: No.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: No, he was.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: No. He still hates you? He probably still hates me, yeah.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: You just helped him. I mean, it was already going
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: to be like that. You're programmed that way, right?
- 1:10:23Speaker 11: So, I mean, he just needed a little push to
- 1:10:25Speaker 11: come to terms with it.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: I don't even know if he's... I wouldn't know. I
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: just did it to be an asshole. That's great. That's
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: my man. That's great. That's a good story.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: But yes, back to this. I never want to watch
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: this movie again. I didn't want to take a shower
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: after watching this.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: I didn't need to. It stuck with me for how
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: many years? My entire damn life.
- 1:10:47Speaker 11: And I finally, like years later, went, I think that
- 1:10:50Speaker 11: is the name of that movie, and went and found
- 1:10:52Speaker 11: out and made sure that was the right one.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: But again, I hadn't watched it until I saw that
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: she was coming, and I was like, okay, we need
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: to talk about that movie.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: And she was so nice in person.
- 1:11:01Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: She was the most ridiculously nice person I've ever met
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: in my entire life.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: She's just, yeah, ridiculously nice.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: Because the guy she was with was kind of trying to.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: Blow us off.
- 1:11:12Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: He was, because she told us what time to be there.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: And we're leaving. And he's like, no, we can't do it.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: We're done.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: And she was like, no, let's do it. Let's.
- 1:11:22Speaker 18: Come on.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Because she's awesome.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: She was so sweet.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: So she had to beg the guys she hired.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: But she was so nice. And she's gorgeous in this movie.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: And I'm not just saying that on the off chance
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: that she might listen to it. She is awesome. And
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: it's not her fault I don't like this movie.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: Well, and I am, yes. You heard me ask her that.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: I was like, you know, what... I did not.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Hear you ask her. I was too busy getting hit
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: on by two drunk guys.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: I'm not talking to you. I was talking to this... Well,
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: I'm just saying, I was.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: There sort of when you were talking to her.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: You were busy, yeah, trying to throw those guys off
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: the trail. Mentioning your... What was he? Was he your
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: fiancé or was he your husband?
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: We were married at that point.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but you were married at that time. Yeah.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: I should have mentioned the mace. That might have gotten
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: him to go away.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: I thought you did.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: I don't remember. Thanks for leaving me alone with the
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: two drunk guys.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Hey, I didn't know you were alone with the two
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: drunk guys. I was right there. I was at the
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: table with you. I was all alone. I knew you
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: guys were going down to do an interview and Randy
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: and I were looking at video games and stuff like
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: that that he was downloading.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: I was alone with two drunk guys.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: Or at the same table I was. You could have
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: texted me. You could have taken them, truthfully. You would
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: have knocked those guys out of their ass. So, yeah.
- 1:12:43Speaker 11: I just kept an eye on you. As long as
- 1:12:44Speaker 11: you weren't abducted or anything, you were fine. You would
- 1:12:47Speaker 11: have knocked them out.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: They were too busy wanting pictures of each other together.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Yeah, again, in weird fashion. Take pictures of me with me.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: You too, buddy.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: That wasn't the first time they'd asked me. They'd asked
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: me that earlier in the day. Will you take our pictures?
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I'm somebody famous. Like the.
- 1:13:04Speaker 11: Sure you are.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: Alright, sorry.
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:13:07Speaker 11: But yeah, I mean, I asked her that she was like,
- 1:13:10Speaker 11: you know, how do you deal with this? Because this
- 1:13:12Speaker 11: makes you the villain of the movie. By the end,
- 1:13:14Speaker 11: you're nice girl all the way through. And then by
- 1:13:17Speaker 11: the end, you're like, what? What did you just do? Yeah,
- 1:13:21Speaker 11: it's like, as she said, that's what happened. She's got
- 1:13:25Speaker 11: drive-ins with people screaming and cursing and blowing their horn
- 1:13:29Speaker 11: and just cursing at the screen at what she just did.
- 1:13:32Speaker 11: So it kind of leaves her in a very bad
- 1:13:35Speaker 11: situation as the actress because, yeah, it leaves you looking
- 1:13:39Speaker 11: pretty bad in this movie.
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess as an actor or an actress, it's
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: hard to separate themselves from the characters that they play.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: It's hard because a lot of times, yeah, you'll see
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: her and you're thinking, what a fucking bitch, damn it!
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: And then you let your emotions get in it and she,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: you know, they really don't have anything to do with it.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: I feel bad that sometimes they get painted in that corner. Yeah.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: You know, they have to deal with the aftermath of
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: their character, you know.
- 1:14:05Speaker 11: Which is what, yeah, I mean, she says now, you know,
- 1:14:07Speaker 11: doing the show, she always poses with Gary. She's like,
- 1:14:10Speaker 11: taking a picture, look, we're friends.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: So it's like, it's just a movie. So, yeah, he's
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: got one tear. Reno has it tattooed on there. Run
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: to me. Gary, get them teeth fixed. That's kind of
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: what I'm wondering. You know? He's going to have to wonder,
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: you know, part of the reason she probably didn't like you, Gary,
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: was because your teeth were, like, somebody could have gave
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: you an apple or something.
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: His lips and teeth were less.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: Give him a carrot.
- 1:14:40Speaker 10: Oh, God.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: So, I don't know. I think, like I said, in
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: the watching of it, having it have that much effect,
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: I think that the story itself.
- 1:14:51Speaker 11: Is about this loss of innocence. But I think the
- 1:14:53Speaker 11: movie itself is this loss of it. For younger viewers,
- 1:14:58Speaker 11: it's like you're going, haha, fun comedy.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: And it's just like... And there goes your innocence. Yeah.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: Doctor punches the innocence right out of you. The stirrups
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: probably are the final straw. Yeah.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: The straps.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: The straps.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: Strapping you down.
- 1:15:10Speaker 8: The straps. Yeah.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: I have a struggle.
- 1:15:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: And then, yeah, making out with... Like, you don't want
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: to see... And you don't want to see a girl's
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: breasts when she's going in for an abortion. No, it's
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: not hot. That's just unsettling. They took a moment that
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: could have been hot. And ruined it. Not only ruined it,
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: but a huge flash would have been hot in a
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: different scenario.
- 1:15:34Speaker 18: In that scenario, it's sad, is what it is. It's
- 1:15:38Speaker 18: just sad. It becomes like, don't cry, I can't... Too
- 1:15:43Speaker 18: clinical and too real.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, cold. Detached. Right, it smells like rubbing alcohol. He
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: seems to watch her sleep an awful lot, too. That
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: creeps me out. Yeah, he's kind of creepy. He is creepy.
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: He's got some issues.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: There's more than one occasion that he's watching her when
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: she sleeps.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: He's a voyeur, watching people when they do it, watching
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: people when they sleep. It's kind of creepy. So I
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:16:09Speaker 11: I think as much as you may not like, quote unquote,
- 1:16:13Speaker 11: this movie, I think everybody kind of needs to see it.
- 1:16:15Speaker 11: At some point, I think, again, it probably needed to
- 1:16:18Speaker 11: come along when you were younger so it could mess.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: You up like the rest of them. I decided you
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: needed to see it. You're welcome. I turned everybody into
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: clones of you. I think everybody needs to experience that.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: Brian's like, I'm going to fuck everybody up. Damn straight.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: That's my mission. I mean, it is one of those, well,
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: even if not, it's sort of its own little weird
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: cultural thing. I think everybody at that era kind of
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: remembered that and went, yeah, what the hell was up
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: with that movie? It really is sort of that touchstone
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: movie of weird 80s crossover serious comedy. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:16:56Speaker 11: It needs to be experienced to sort of understand, well,
- 1:16:59Speaker 11: I still don't fully understand, but sort of understand what
- 1:17:01Speaker 11: was going on. Yeah, I think it needs to be viewed,
- 1:17:06Speaker 11: I think.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: I don't. I want to go back and wash my
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: brain and get rid of this part of it.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: Good luck on that.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: You said that bleach that Marlena used on her poop floor.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: New bleach, not the same bleach.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: I would hope not.
- 1:17:20Speaker 6: I just scooped all that bleach in a bucket afterwards,
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: saving it for other poop spills.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: There's no point in wasting this. She took a sharpie
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: and she wrote poop floor bleach on the bottom. It's
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: still good.
- 1:17:32Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: Oh, Lord. Are there any other final thoughts on this
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: movie other than Misty?
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: I did not like this movie. That does it.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Yep, that does it.
- 1:17:43Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: We will take a break and be back with the
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: rest of the show.
- 1:18:02Speaker 17: They play pool in your house and take off their
- 1:18:05Speaker 17: old clothes. They can talk about love because they know
- 1:18:08Speaker 17: where it goes. They are women without any faults.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Are you ready for the pony girls? The ride, ride fast,
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: ride pony girls. Pizza!
- 1:18:23Speaker 13: Pizza!

- 1:18:34Speaker 9: to your order.
- 1:18:50Speaker 19: Do you find yourself looking for a different type of
- 1:18:53Speaker 19: genre podcast? Do you find yourself on the weekends wondering
- 1:18:57Speaker 19: when you will find that one film that might change
- 1:19:00Speaker 19: your life? Well, then maybe you should check out The
- 1:19:03Speaker 19: Gentleman's Guide to Midnight Cinema with your host Big Willie
- 1:19:06Speaker 19: and the Samurais. Bringing class to the trash since 1977
- 1:19:12Speaker 19: and rocking the house.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: You can find the gentleman at ggtmc.com.
- 1:19:29Speaker 14: Bringing class to the trash.
- 1:19:33Speaker 6: It's part of your problem, you know, you haven't seen
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: enough movies.
- 1:19:36Speaker 16: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: And now, on with the show.
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: We sailed on together, drifted apart, and here you are
- 1:19:55Speaker 5: by my side.
- 1:20:05Speaker 13: You know, they never gave him a lot of attention.
- 1:20:34Speaker 23: No, he was fucking cool as shit. Yeah, on the
- 1:20:37Speaker 23: first run, but then they just completely died out. I mean,
- 1:20:41Speaker 23: that's like the first figures that I got. Like, when
- 1:20:44Speaker 23: they just came out, I got Grunt, I got Stalker,
- 1:20:49Speaker 23: Snake Eyes, and Flash. And I got Enemy and The Enemy.
- 1:20:57Speaker 23: And then I had enough flag points to send away.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: For Cobra Commander. And then I got him in the mail.
- 1:21:02Speaker 11: I had Mutt because I liked the dog. He came
- 1:21:06Speaker 11: with his dog. He came with his dog.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: All right, we are back, and we've got feedback. Really? Yes.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: Is it Randy?
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Not Randy.
- 1:21:15Speaker 10: Oh, Randy.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: Not after the poop story. Thanks, Marlena. You're welcome. Everybody
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: loves Marlena's stories. They seem to. Sometimes I don't even
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: understand why. I can't wait until she writes a book.
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: It'll be a bathroom book. It'll be a bathroom book
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: with small, short stories by Marlena.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Your own podcast of all your stories.
- 1:21:38Speaker 6: I know. I keep meaning to get a Twitter feed
- 1:21:39Speaker 6: about all the funny shit that people at work say.
- 1:21:42Speaker 6: I walked in at work the other day and And
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: I just hear Michael go, that's the scene in this
- 1:21:48Speaker 6: track that gives me a boner. And I was like, what?
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: And he was like, no.
- 1:21:53Speaker 6: No, that's not as bad as it sounds. And I'm like, yeah,
- 1:21:56Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure it is. I'm pretty sure it is.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: I don't know that that scene exists as far as
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: I'm concerned.
- 1:22:02Speaker 6: It's the red-haired nun when she sings.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: Her voice.
- 1:22:05Speaker 13: I'm like.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: Like I said, she's the cute one.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Don't care.
- 1:22:08Speaker 6: You just said, and that's the scene in this track
- 1:22:10Speaker 6: that gives me a boner.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: Yeah, whoopies in the room, you're ruining it.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: I'm going to get a Twitter just so I can
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: follow Sean Patrick Flannery.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: That I believe.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: I want to stalk him.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: All right, so, feedback.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: If I get him knocked up, I'll get him.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: We only have a short amount of time. Feedback.
- 1:22:28Speaker 11: This time we hear from James, or the artist formerly
- 1:22:33Speaker 11: known as Eskimo.
- 1:22:34Speaker 8: Okay, this is James, artist formerly known as Eskimo.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: Hello.
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: I didn't hear the tone, so that's why there's a
- 1:22:42Speaker 8: blank spot. Sorry about that. I just wanted to chime
- 1:22:48Speaker 8: in on the discussion of why Rumor Willis looks like
- 1:22:55Speaker 8: the mutant spawn of Mr. Potato Head and Jimmy Moore.
- 1:23:00Speaker 8: I figured it out, because by most standards, Bruce Willis
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: is a pretty good looking dude. If any more, fucking hot.
- 1:23:10Speaker 8: We all have come to the conclusion that two pretty
- 1:23:15Speaker 8: people almost always make up new faces. I don't know
- 1:23:19Speaker 8: why this is. There are exceptions. But, dear God, if
- 1:23:26Speaker 8: you look at a lot of the pretty people in
- 1:23:29Speaker 8: your life, I mean, holy shit, John Boyd spawned Angelina Jolie.
- 1:23:34Speaker 9: How?
- 1:23:36Speaker 8: The man looks like a mutant.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: His wife was hot, though.
- 1:23:38Speaker 8: I don't get it. Anyway, that was all. I had called, and,
- 1:23:42Speaker 8: you know, I could hear. So, I wanted to call, say,
- 1:23:46Speaker 8: you guys are awesome, and Randy's not the only fan
- 1:23:48Speaker 8: that called in.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: Damn it.
- 1:23:50Speaker 8: Okay, he is, but he's not going to be anymore.
- 1:23:53Speaker 8: I'm going to, like, call and stuff. So, pleasure.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: He did call back. You need to address that one first, though.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: It was mostly towards your.
- 1:24:02Speaker 11: Rumor wellness rants over the time.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: I didn't know if you need to.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: She's just unfortunate looking.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: Her face.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: It's not even just her. The other kids aren't that
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: attractive either. I've seen a picture of the other one.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: What's the other one's name?
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: Scout.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: There's another one too, isn't there?
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: There's a third one, yeah.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: Tallulah Bell or something. Yeah, I think so. Whichever one
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: that's like 16 and just got arrested for drinking. She's
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: very unfortunate looking, too.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: She's following her dad's footsteps. And I like Bruce, but
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: he had those problems long ago, if I remember correctly.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: But yeah, Potato Head is the worst. And honest thing
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: about Angelina Jolie, her mom is gorgeous, though. So, I mean...
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: I guess her mom's genes kind of outranked John Boyd's. Although,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: if you go back far enough, he wasn't that bad
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: of a looking guy.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: He's a young man. I think he was attractive, fairly attractive.
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: He wasn't unattractive. He was just sort of there. He
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: just sort of, again, he looked like a real guy.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: He looked like a guy working at the store. He
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: looked like a man's man. He was just a guy.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: But, you know, Angelina Jolie's mom, she's pretty. So, I mean,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: I guess you got more from her, but I don't understand.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: Honestly, I mean, I don't look like my dad do it.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: No.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: See? I'm lucky. You are, dude.
- 1:25:07Speaker 10: So am I. You don't have an ass like your dad.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: Your dad has no ass. It's very creepy.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: It would be really scary if you meant that the
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: other way. You don't have an ass like your dad.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: That's not old. Your dad has an old ass. Checking
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: out my dad's ass. Sure wish you did, though. She
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: watches through that keyhole. There you go.
- 1:25:32Speaker 10: Yikes.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: You have a fantastic ass.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: Oh, thank you.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: You're welcome. Yeah, Potato Head's very unfortunate looking. She's just
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: lumpy looking.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: She's lumpy, though.
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't have anything else to say about that.
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: Alright. He called right back, I believe that same day,
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: with another comment, which... One more thing.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: If that's the case, what is Angelina Jolie and Brad
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: Pitt's child going to grow into looking like?
- 1:25:55Speaker 6: Their kids are already kind of weird looking.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: See, that's the thing. You get really beautiful, and put
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: them together, and you get cute kids you take super
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: beautiful and super beautiful and put them together and you
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: get kids that are just really weird looking it's it's
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: nature curse there was a couple that at my church
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: that i grew up in and the mom the dad
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: was ugly the mom was ugly and they had five
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: kids and four daughters were all models just beautiful and
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: the son was that You know, he would have been
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: on Twilight or something like that. Their entire family was like,
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: they would walk in and everybody would just turn and look.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: And like, did they adopt these kids? It's the joke
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: of the universe. It's the universal joke, yeah. The universe
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: is like, ah, ah, ah. And you could see parts,
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: you could see parts, but it's like nature said, okay,
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: these people are hideous. And they took the best parts
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: and built a good looking kid out of them. But
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: the parents were, unless they just aged very poorly. Yeah,
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: sometimes that happens.
- 1:26:56Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: All right, we got more feedback?
- 1:26:58Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:26:58Speaker 11: Yeah, and this one, I think, was in a response
- 1:27:00Speaker 11: to our beloved Red Riding Hood episode.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Oh, all right. It was more.
- 1:27:06Speaker 11: The Amanda Seyfried half of it, so, yeah. I don't
- 1:27:09Speaker 11: remember going on about her quite that much, but I
- 1:27:11Speaker 11: guess I must have mentioned something about her.
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: Okay. Hey, Brian.
- 1:27:16Speaker 8: Uh, James again. Dude, I'm a huge Seyfried fan. I've
- 1:27:22Speaker 8: been in supremacist females, so... Like you said, I love her,
- 1:27:27Speaker 8: Veronica Mars. She's the only reason I will sit through
- 1:27:30Speaker 8: Jennifer's body. Fuck, I could talk. Whatever. But, uh, my
- 1:27:37Speaker 8: present to you, sir, is a film named Chloe.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: I haven't seen all of it.
- 1:27:43Speaker 19: That's all.
- 1:27:44Speaker 8: Enough to know that in Chloe, Amanda Seacret, it's Mickey.
- 1:27:50Speaker 8: She also has a lesbian make-out scene with Julianne Moore.
- 1:27:55Speaker 8: That is all. Try not to knock anybody over getting
- 1:27:59Speaker 8: to the DVD.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Play secrets.
- 1:28:04Speaker 8: Later!
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: Thank you, James. I have heard of Chloe.
- 1:28:07Speaker 11: I have not watched it. Maybe now I need to.
- 1:28:11Speaker 11: I don't know if I was that level. She just
- 1:28:13Speaker 11: always seemed cute. She was always cute on the Mean
- 1:28:17Speaker 11: Girls and cute on others.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: So I don't know. I don't know if I ever
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: made her that hot needs-to-get-naked chick, but Chloe might have
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: to be the deciding factor. Yeah, I'm not sold. I
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: like her freakishly large eyes.
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: I know, they're cute.
- 1:28:32Speaker 11: She is like an anime character.
- 1:28:35Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: She's attractive, but purely physically, I think I would start
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: moving more and more away from and say, eh, never mind.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Friend zone?
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: Yeah. You wouldn't give her an abortion? Is that what
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: you're saying?
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: I wouldn't bring her oranges in the abortion line. God.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: What a Rick.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: That's beautiful. We're going to have to start saying that.
- 1:28:58Speaker 6: I wouldn't bring you oranges to the abortion clinic.
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: Man, I bet that girl's got pudding in her car.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: Call back.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 1:29:09Speaker 11: So, yes, thank you, James, for both of those. And
- 1:29:13Speaker 11: we do know there are other people out there. Most
- 1:29:15Speaker 11: of them are slacking with the feedback. But, hey, we
- 1:29:17Speaker 11: are glad to get.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: It from you.
- 1:29:19Speaker 11: And, you know, other people aside from James and Randy
- 1:29:22Speaker 11: can feel free to contribute.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: We're looking forward to it.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: Randy's still my favorite, though.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: James, you've got more work to do.
- 1:29:29Speaker 19: Right.
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: You've got to overtake it. It needs to be a battle.
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: Possibly with a mace. And what was the other one
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: you just made? I can't tell you. Oh, that's right.
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: Randy's birthday present.
- 1:29:37Speaker 11: Possibly with a mace, we can have a battle and,
- 1:29:39Speaker 11: you know, you guys can see who the number one
- 1:29:42Speaker 11: fan is by, you know, whoever survives.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Look, if you call in enough, Jay might make you.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Some sort of a weapon you know how can you
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: beat that what other show offers that the problem is
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: the shipping that's the thing I still got Randy's mace
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: and his other stuff and it's been sitting here for
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: probably two months and I am so fucking sorry I
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: can't get this shit shipped out but what are you
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: gonna do I thought you were just too.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: Damn lazy to get it boxed up.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: No! I can't find it in a box. Walk into
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: the FedEx store and go, can I ship this? And
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: see what they do.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, don't send it through UPS because we'll break that shit.
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: Is there anything potentially hazardous?
- 1:30:21Speaker 8: No. No.
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: Because you're holding a battle mace. No, this is fine.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: If you take it into the post office, they wouldn't
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: bat an eye. They'd be like, stamped.
- 1:30:31Speaker 11: Gone.
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: Do you need insurance? How'd you like my aunt? She
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: sent me a pair of handlebars. through UPS, and she
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: didn't box them. She sent them. And I got home,
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: and there were a pair of handlebars sitting on my
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: front porch with a sticker on it with the address. Wow.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: I was like, you can ship shit like that?
- 1:30:52Speaker 10: Yes, yes.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: You can, yeah. I didn't know that. I was like,
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: what the fuck are these handlebars?
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: Why don't we have the ear eggs department?
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: What do we have, what?
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: Ear eggs. It's weird. Yeah. I just pretend that they're
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: eggs that come inside your ear. Oh, ear eggs. I
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: thought it was like, we're ear eggs.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: Yeah, see?
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: I thought the same.
- 1:31:08Speaker 10: Thing, too.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: You think you're regular in any fashion. Ear eggs.
- 1:31:11Speaker 11: They hatch, and there's little ears. Somebody told me they sent, like,
- 1:31:14Speaker 11: a ball. Like, they were sending it to their grandson
- 1:31:17Speaker 11: or something, and they bought this giant, like, rubber ball,
- 1:31:20Speaker 11: slapped their address on it, slapped stamps on it, and
- 1:31:22Speaker 11: took it to the post office, and they mailed it.
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: It fits in a brown truck, I guess. I guess, yeah.
- 1:31:33Speaker 14: Don't be shy. We'd like to hear from you. So
- 1:31:36Speaker 14: give us a call at 502-365-5565. Or you can email
- 1:31:41Speaker 14: us at geeksatmoviemeltdown.com. And just stop by the website for
- 1:31:45Speaker 14: our frequent updates. That's moviemeltdown.com.
- 1:31:57Speaker 8: Get out. Okay.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: Marlena's leaving. Say goodbye.
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: Bye, everybody. She's got to go stalk someone. Really? She's
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: going to be late.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: For her abortion.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:32:06Speaker 6: What kind of abortion?
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Yeah, she's got one at 730. Well, I'll bring the
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: oranges by later. You ain't getting no new Christmas trees
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: from Greg. Citrus and pine smell. Smells like abortion.
- 1:32:21Speaker 11: Pine salt?
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: God, we're horrible.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Sorry we drank all your Pepsi.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: Yeah, people, yeah. People are going to hate us even more.
- 1:32:30Speaker 10: Bye.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: Bye. We didn't give her the employee. We didn't give
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: her a prank call. I'm not even responsible for the employee. Yeah,
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: I'm not endorsing the actions of anybody in here. You kids,
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: it's your decision. You do what you want to do.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: We're just commenting on it. Yeah. But if you happen
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: to end up in one and you're asleep, I might
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: bring you a... Might bring you some oranges. You know
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: Try to watch it for a while first.
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: Oh, I can watch it in sleep? And you can
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: wake up and laugh. Whatever. Who said abortions tickle? I
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: think that was you. She does giggle. Quite fun. It's
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: a very fun attitude she has. I just had a
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: funny dream.
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: God, I'm going to get so much hate right now.
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: I know there's nothing funny about abortion.
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: There isn't.
- 1:33:13Speaker 11: I mean, we spent the entire episode talking about how
- 1:33:16Speaker 11: horrified we are by that part of the entire movie.
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: So, again, we're not making light of it any more than...
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: In the movie. I mean, in the movie. In the movie,
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: she's not even affected at all, which is kind of disturbing.
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: Which is, yeah, even more disturbing. She's like, oh, are
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: you going to be at my birthday party? Like, bitch,
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: you just had an abortion.
- 1:33:33Speaker 19: What?
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: He's like yelling at her, too. Come on, your eyes
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: are going to get cold. And I'm like, she's kind
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: of insensitive to her.
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: Yeah, they're weird. You're going to cook your fucking eggs.
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: You act like you're going to have an abortion or something.
- 1:33:45Speaker 9: Shit.
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: You know where the yellow towels are. What's wrong with you?
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: Their weird little playing house moment. It's very strange. Oh,
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: it's so perfect. It's like we're married. Especially since she's
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: still got him in the friend zone. It'd be different
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: if they were actually hooked up at that point and
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: they were a couple. I'm just going to assume that
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: he never made it into boyfriend territory that She still
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: had him off at an arm's distance. He thought that
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: he was. But he thought he was. He was even
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: describing her. He thought he was in.
- 1:34:17Speaker 11: This presence from a girlfriend. He was already in that
- 1:34:20Speaker 11: mode knee deep. And she was like, what are you.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: Doing, friend?
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: He never said we were going out.
- 1:34:26Speaker 10: All the more reason I'm surprised he didn't kill that fucker.
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Actually, if he would have never paid for the abortion,
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: she probably would have had to have the kid. The
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: friend would have stayed away and he could have had her.
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: But you know what? Then you got to raise a kid,
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: you know. That's too much trouble. You can just pass
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: those off to the grandparents. Do I want to know
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: what this is? Yes.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: What'd she do?
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: What?
- 1:34:51Speaker 9: What?
- 1:34:52Speaker 11: Okay, to be fitting in with the rest of our
- 1:34:55Speaker 11: description earlier, Marlena was just driving down your street, Misty,
- 1:34:59Speaker 11: and there was somebody with a donkey in the back
- 1:35:01Speaker 11: of their truck. It was Gary driving the donkey down
- 1:35:07Speaker 11: the street. And he's stalking you, Misty. I think it's
- 1:35:10Speaker 11: what we're taking from this. He's going to be watching
- 1:35:13Speaker 11: you sleep later. As long as it wasn't a fake dog. Yeah,
- 1:35:16Speaker 11: but Marlena says he'll totally pay.
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: For your abortion.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: Will he bring the oranges to them?
- 1:35:21Speaker 9: Sure.
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: Only if it's Christmas, though. This donkey has $ 250. Some oranges.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: God. Oh, Lord.
- 1:35:25Speaker 7: Good times.
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: Oh, thanks for sharing. Okay, bye.
- 1:35:37Speaker 11: Donkey in a truck.
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: Okay, kids, get out your decoder pins. Are you members
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: of the secret circle? She's like the Michael Winslow of
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: our show. She is, actually.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: I have no idea what that means.
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: The black guy from the Police Academy movies that does
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: the voices. I'm a black guy now, huh?
- 1:36:00Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: Yes, you are.
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: He always does all the helicopter voices. Michael Winslow's cool.
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: Take that as a compliment. Look, you can be the
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: Michael Winslow or you can be the Steve Guttenberg. Who
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: do you want to be? I hate Steve Guttenberg. There
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: you go. I'm Bubba Smith.
- 1:36:19Speaker 11: Okay, it's time for Moving Out Down Secret Circle reveal
- 1:36:22Speaker 11: of the next exciting episode.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: It's another road trip episode, only we're not going very far.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: We'll be staying here. I don't know if you're going.
- 1:36:32Speaker 2: I'm not sure if I get to go or not.
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: As a show, we're going to go to Wonderfest. It's
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: been an annual event.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: As a show, is it going to be like the
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: show or it's going.
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: To be me and you? Wait a minute. When's Wonderfest? Oh, okay.
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: But we'll probably be there Saturday. It's not the weekend
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: before Beatersville, right?
- 1:36:47Speaker 11: No, I think that's another week and then Beatersville.
- 1:36:49Speaker 10: Oh, okay.
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: I'll be there because that's Mods and Rockers.
- 1:36:52Speaker 9: Okay.
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: You don't know how you're going to have the kids. What?
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: Are you going to have a kid? I'll tell her
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: I'm going to go to Wonderfest. She's not allowed to
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: leave her room ever.
- 1:37:00Speaker 10: We're not taking her to Wonderfest because last time she
- 1:37:03Speaker 10: cried when she saw Darth Vader and I ain't putting
- 1:37:05Speaker 10: up with that shit again.
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: Why would you cry when you see Darth Vader?
- 1:37:08Speaker 8: She was.
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: He's so awesome, she can't control herself.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: Eight is not an excuse. She grew up watching fucking
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: Army of Darkness.
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: She should be okay. I don't know why. Well, you
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: gotta understand, Darth Vader's pretty funny. The sight of Darth Vader,
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: I don't know, that's an update. It's one thing when
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: it's in the movies, but a real life Darth Vader
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: with fucking stormtroopers around him? It's kind of creepy when
- 1:37:29Speaker 2: I'm standing there. I might cry. Yeah, I mean, it's...
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: Being overwhelmed. Yeah, it's a lot to deal with.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: After I paid for her to get in, we left, like,
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: not even ten minutes.
- 1:37:38Speaker 9: Pissed.
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: Yeah, don't blame me on that one. But I don't
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: blame her because Darth Vader, that's kind of traumatizing. So, yeah,
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: we will be heading back. It has been an annual
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: event for how many years have we decided? I don't know.
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: How long have I been married?
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: I don't know. You do the math.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: Eight, nine years. I don't remember. Whenever Romero was here.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: I've gone a couple years before. So, yeah, we're up
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: to about a decade of making this trip. I'm going
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: to look in the hallway real quickly. If I don't
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: have a kid, then I will go. 2001 was my
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: first year.
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: That's when Romero was there and my mom had to
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: reschedule her wedding.
- 1:38:13Speaker 11: It's the 10-year anniversary of just since I suckered you.
- 1:38:16Speaker 11: I went a couple years before that. So, yeah, it's
- 1:38:18Speaker 11: been quite an ongoing festival for us.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: And my mom will never let me forget.
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: I kind of don't blame her, but I don't blame
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: you because I probably. It ain't my fault she chose
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: the one goddamn day that George Romero. And if anybody
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: ever questions your geekness, you pull that fucking card. Yeah,
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: that's true. That is a card. There is no doubt.
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: Did my mom change her wedding date?
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: It was the same day. She just changed it until
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: later in the day.
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: She had to postpone her wedding so that she could go.
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: Hang out with George Romero. But then I'm like.
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: Look, we're going to hang out with the king of
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: the zombies, so.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: So she hit it at five instead of noon, so
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: it's not like I made her change the day or anything.
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: It's not like I made her not get married.
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: Yeah. I put on a dress, goddammit, so that I
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: should make up for it.
- 1:39:02Speaker 6: You put a dress on?
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: Yes, I did. Can you pick it?
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: Yes, I do. I still have the dress up in
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: my garage.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: Ooh, uh-oh. We better leave. We better leave, right? Yeah,
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: we better get out. There's going to be.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: I have plenty of dresses.
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: I know. You wore a dress a couple years ago.
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: It happens. It's just because I don't dress up.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: You don't wear a dress, I ain't wearing a dress.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: Well, no, there's no reason for me. I don't dress
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: up either. I can't call either of you out. I
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: got t-shirts and blue jeans.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: I'm not going to wear a dress if you're.
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: All dirty looking. That's my MO. So, you're not wearing
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: a dress to Wonderfest?
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: I will not be wearing a dress to Wonderfest.
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: Man, but the geeks will be all excited.
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: I'll take pictures of my tattoo. Ooh, I wonder if
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: the guy who did my tattoo.
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: He might be. He wasn't there last year. Maybe he'll
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: be there.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: Before I got my tattoo, it was from a temporary
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: tattoo from one of the booths at Wonderfest.
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: Now it is not so good.
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: Because, yeah, last year it was pretty funny because the
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: guy was like, hey, these temporary tattoos. I'm like, nah,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: I already got it. Yeah, he handed you one and
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: you were like, nah.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, I already got it. He looked at it.
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: He's like, that's bigger.
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: I'm like, mm-hmm. Uh-huh. And permanent.
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: And he's like, holy shit, are you serious?
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: Did they do a picture of that?
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Bob's not going to believe it.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: Well, Bob's not going to believe it by all means.
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: I hope Bob is there.
- 1:40:24Speaker 11: Bob is the one who did the artwork. Which is
- 1:40:26Speaker 11: pretty impressive if somebody took it upon themselves to permanently
- 1:40:30Speaker 11: ink that upon them.
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: That's pretty awesome. So, yep, hopefully Bob will be there.
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: Not as impressive as Corey's mom seeing my tattoo.
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: That's pretty cool, too. So would you consider having the
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: person that did the artwork for your tattoo actually sign them,
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: sign it?
- 1:40:47Speaker 9: No.
- 1:40:47Speaker 5: No.
- 1:40:48Speaker 11: He can, he can sign like a piece of paper
- 1:40:51Speaker 11: and you can keep it and go, look, there's Bob.
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: Picture of us together.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: There you go. That's me and Bob. He did my
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: stand next to your tattoo. That's totally mine.
- 1:41:04Speaker 11: So yeah, we will be heading there, checking out geeks and, um,
- 1:41:08Speaker 11: Hopefully pestering a few celebrities. We might actually even talk
- 1:41:11Speaker 11: about a book. Not a pop-up book.
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: Aw, man. I got a new pop-up book this week.
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: Oh, shit.
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: It's Elvis.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: That doesn't surprise me.
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: It's an Elvis pop-up book. The music doesn't work anymore, though.
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: Oh. Pop-up books on podcasts is the best thing ever.
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: Only us. Only this show would bother me.
- 1:41:30Speaker 11: I can go get it if you want to see it.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: It's Elvis and it pops up.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Save that for the next episode. Aw.
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: I'll forget about them. We should have a podcast just
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: about my pop-up books.
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: We can do a special spin-off. Oh, you should see
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: this page.
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: I can forget the Hitchcock when the Hitchcock one kicks ass.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: The Hitchcock one does kick ass. But if you want
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: to have a special spin-off episode, if enough of.
- 1:41:50Speaker 11: You guys really want a spin-off episode of Misty's Pop-Up,
- 1:41:54Speaker 11: what are you going to call it?
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: Pop-Up Podcast. Misty's Pop-Up Podcast. Okay. Done and done.
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: Hell yeah. I have to get more pop-up books because
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: I've only got like ten.
- 1:42:04Speaker 9: One.
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: Ten episodes right there.
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: Or just one really awesome one.
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: Nah, you can't blow your whole thing for a show.
- 1:42:12Speaker 11: Gotta save up. Make a series out of this.
- 1:42:16Speaker 19: Okay.
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: Otherwise, that about does it. We will return next week.
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: Same geek time, same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:42:22Speaker 10: Thanks. Yep. Bye.
- 1:42:25Speaker 8: Bye.
- 1:42:42Speaker 15: I never knew it could be like this Your eyes,
- 1:42:48Speaker 15: your kiss I'd never known such tenderness Not till I
- 1:42:55Speaker 15: met you If I could only make you believe That
- 1:43:02Speaker 15: what he gives you isn't what you need But.
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: You see him, you don't see.
- 1:43:08Speaker 7: Me No matter what I try My teenage old I.I.
- 1:43:14Speaker 7: Keep on denying I'll stand right by your side My
- 1:43:22Speaker 7: teenage old I.I.
- 1:43:30Speaker 15: There's no telling how our love will grow And though
- 1:43:34Speaker 15: it's raining when it starts to show We'll keep it
- 1:43:38Speaker 15: hidden so no one will know It came from your
- 1:43:43Speaker 15: true love They make us pay but they can't forgive
- 1:43:48Speaker 15: What we've had together ¶ Hear them talking about the
- 1:43:54Speaker 15: pregnant kids ¶ ¶ Let.
- 1:43:57Speaker 13: Them talk forever ¶.
- 1:44:01Speaker 15: ¶ My teenage old eyes.
- 1:44:04Speaker 7: ¶ ¶ Just keep on denying ¶ ¶ I'll stand
- 1:44:10Speaker 7: right by the time ¶ ¶ My teenage old eyes ¶.
- 1:44:34Speaker 15: Me apart how could you give him back your heart
- 1:44:39Speaker 15: and I just got that all.
- 1:44:50Speaker 9: Bye.
