Transcript
- 0:01The vital Nature has an innate drive towards fulfillment and
- 0:05satisfaction of desire since most individuals are oriented
- 0:10towards the outer life. The Fulfillment comes through
- 0:13attaining desirable objects of the vital Focus.
- 0:18This can be accumulation of wealth, it can be family fame or
- 0:23achievement of certain goals. One sets for oneself.
- 0:27For some people, this can shift into the arena of charitable
- 0:31work. Volunteer efforts to help create
- 0:35a better environment or improve other people's lives.
- 0:39The motivation behind this however remains for the most
- 0:43part the satisfaction of the vital Nature's push for
- 0:47fulfillment in summer, Inna or another.
- 0:51The standpoint is that of the ego personality and the ambition
- 0:56is Fueled by the quality of rajas for the most part, even
- 1:00if, as is usually the case there's an inter mixture of
- 1:05SEPTA or Thomas to change the nature of the desire or the
- 1:09action into a lighter or darker mode.
- 1:14For those who are called to the spiritual path, the element of
- 1:18fulfillment of Desire remains so long as the standpoint is based
- 1:23in the ego personality. And when references I mine me as
- 1:30the actor and recipient of the fruits of the action As we see
- 1:37in the teachings of the bhagavad-gita, the issue is not
- 1:41the outer form of work done, but the inner motivation and focus,
- 1:46what the Gita teaches is that the entire standpoint should
- 1:50shift away from the ego personality and it's wants and
- 1:54its fulfillment to that of the spiritual standpoint.
- 1:59Where the individual is a Nexus of certain forces and actions.
- 2:04But the work is actually directed inspired guided and
- 2:10carried out by the Divine the issue then becomes how
- 2:15effectively the individual can carry out that higher guidance
- 2:20without reference to individual benefit, fame, or Glory wealth,
- 2:25or success, an interim phase as long as one is still tied to the
- 2:31ego personality. used to carry out the action with a dedicated
- 2:36mind and heart and not be concerned about the fruits or
- 2:41results of the action, which is left up to the new Vine and
- 2:46dedicated to the divine SRI aurobindo observes.
- 2:51Quote men usually work and carry on their affairs from the
- 2:56ordinary motives of the vital being need desire of wealth or
- 3:01success or position or power or fame, or the push to activity,
- 3:08and the pleasure of manifesting their capabilities, and they
- 3:12succeed, or fail, according to their capacity, bility power of
- 3:16work and the good or bad fortune.
- 3:19In which is the result of their nature and their karma.
- 3:24When one takes up the yoga and wishes to consecrate one's life
- 3:27to the Divine, these ordinary motives of the vital being have
- 3:32no longer their full and free play.
- 3:35They have to be replaced by another a mainly psychic and
- 3:39spiritual motive, which will enable the Sadiq to work with
- 3:45the same Force as before no longer for himself.
- 3:50But for the Divine and quote reference SRI aurobindo, and the
- 3:56mother growing within the psychology of inner development.
