- 0:09revenue in your business, TuneIn to amplify your marketing
- 0:13message with Christine Campbell Rappin.
- 0:15Every week we're going to take you through how to build an
- 0:17audience of buyers, mastering your marketing message, making
- 0:21offers. My friends, welcome back.
- 0:25There is a big conversation we need to have today.
- 0:29It is time to be unapologetic about our goals, about our
- 0:34ambitions for wealth, impact and legacy.
- 0:40My good friend Les Brown always says to me, there is no such
- 0:43thing as risk free greatness and we've heard it before, you do
- 0:48not have to be great to start, but you have to start to be
- 0:53great. Welcome to amplify your
- 0:55marketing message, I'm your host Christine Campbell Rappin.
- 0:58I support entrepreneurs to build their first $1,000,000 in
- 1:02business. And here's the shocking stat,
- 1:07particularly for women. So if you're a women, you're my
- 1:09peep. I want you to hear this.
- 1:13Less than 2% of business owners get through their million.
- 1:20Most businesses don't aspire to that $1,000,000.
- 1:25My clients might not always start with $1,000,000 vision,
- 1:31but I watch it blossom when they step into unapologetic Dr.
- 1:39Ambition for impact. And when I sat down and looked
- 1:47at what I see in the marketplace, I saw this truth.
- 1:55I'm scared to ask for a lot. I'm scared to want big dreams.
- 2:01I'm constantly criticized by family, friends, peers and
- 2:06strangers who say, are you making any money in that
- 2:09business yet? And I had that conversation with
- 2:12one of my newer clients just this past week.
- 2:15She came to me after I had hosted an event and she said,
- 2:18how do you respond when people don't buy you into your dream?
- 2:23When there's a constant good intended but toxic.
- 2:28Are you making any money yet? And I gave her three ways I
- 2:34respond to that because here's the funny story I shared with
- 2:37her. This doesn't change if you're a
- 2:40private enterprise, if you're a public company.
- 2:43I don't know that this happens because I've never seen it
- 2:46happen. Doesn't mean it won't, but
- 2:47that's just my own lens. But we are a private enterprise,
- 2:50whether that solopreneur or what we call traditionally small
- 2:54business. There is somebody in your life
- 2:56that asks you that questions repeatedly.
- 2:57Are you making any money like get in that business.
- 3:00And my business has been around for more than five years.
- 3:04So I've been past the threshold most don't achieve.
- 3:09And to this day, just three days ago, my mother's well intended
- 3:14said, I know I see you spending a lot of time doing things,
- 3:19running events, going to events, speaking at events, traveling
- 3:22for your business, but are you making any money at it?
- 3:26And I was like, seriously? You know what I said to my
- 3:29mother? I said why do you need some help
- 3:31paying your bills? Don't worry Mom, I mine are well
- 3:34covered and it doesn't change. So don't get frustrated, shift
- 3:40your energies and get clear that there is a big world out there.
- 3:44You can make big impact and it is time to be unapologetic about
- 3:48your desire to do that. I play to the people, the 2%, I
- 3:55played to that. I know how to do it and I'm a
- 3:58really good bet because I tell my clients this don't shoot for
- 4:04six figures. 6 figures is not enough money.
- 4:08Most people in traditional employment, corporate America,
- 4:11or any big kind of corporate life see that six figures is
- 4:15this milestone income. It's not anymore.
- 4:18It was when I made my first six figures, I was 26 and I thought,
- 4:25wow, that was a lot of money. It was a lot more money in 20.
- 4:28I was 26 more than 25 years ago. Do the math than it is today. 6
- 4:32figures is not enough because that six figures, here's the
- 4:35math 6 figures means OK, I live in Canada, so we're going to
- 4:39take 30 to 40% of that tax. You're then going to spend
- 4:43another 30, probably $1000 generating your business,
- 4:47investing in your business, getting the support, training
- 4:49tools that you need, mentorship, which means you're really
- 4:52working for a take home pay of 40 to 60,000, which is simply
- 4:57not a great wage. You have all the stress without
- 5:01the benefits. So don't go for 100K.
- 5:05I tell my clients there's three phases of growth.
- 5:07The 1st 100K, the next two up to 2:50 and from 2:50 to 5:00,
- 5:11five, then duplicates and duplicates and duplicates.
- 5:14That means 500K, a million, then 2 million and exponentially up
- 5:18from there. But you've got to decide at the
- 5:21lowest level, you're constantly doing all the work.
- 5:24You're constantly in hustle, the next level of growth, you're
- 5:28starting to refine, you're starting to hire, you're
- 5:30starting to systematize, and you're starting to create
- 5:32predictability. But what predictability has as a
- 5:35cost, financial cost of bandwidth cost.
- 5:38And that means you're working harder for less money.
- 5:40And so don't stay there. It's awful.
- 5:42Get out of that fast and then be unapologetic about your goal.
- 5:47I want to see how far I can go. And as you grow exponential, I
- 5:53want you to be unapologetic about ambition.
- 5:56That doesn't mean that you stopped being kind.
- 5:59You stop being human first, you stop being relationship driven.
- 6:03Those are not mutually exclusive.
- 6:06And if they're exclusive and people you've experienced, well,
- 6:08come spend some time with us. It's not exclusive in the rooms
- 6:11I play in. It's not exclusive in the rooms
- 6:15I curate. I want you to know that there is
- 6:20no such thing as a risk free greatness and so that is why you
- 6:24must choose to be true to yourself.
- 6:26You must choose to show up every day unapologetic about your
- 6:30goals, dreams and follow through because you are always your
- 6:36ultimate advocate. And so I want to give you 5 key
- 6:42principles that I lead myself by.
- 6:45So this is stepping inside the world, the mind of me, your host
- 6:49Christine Campbell Rappin. The first key principle I live
- 6:54in to step into greatness. Greatness defined by myself
- 6:57peaks not by the world is integrity.
- 7:01I am really clear on what my Northstar is.
- 7:04I'm really clear on what my values are.
- 7:06And that means to me doing what I said I would do, following
- 7:10through, staying committed past the point of inconvenience, and
- 7:16with the simplicity where the handshake is my word.
- 7:21It's integrity. And it's a principle that is not
- 7:25popular but highly desired. And I said I don't need to play
- 7:29the easy game. I want to play the game I want
- 7:31to win, which is integrity. Second key principle that I
- 7:36think is imperative for greatness, how I define it is
- 7:40discipline. Discipline is an identity.
- 7:43It means that I will be focused on planning, performance and
- 7:49effort. I am constantly in the pathway
- 7:55of iteration. I don't skip steps, I don't sit
- 7:59on the sidelines, and I don't watch people in the arena.
- 8:03I step into the arena and I recognize the compound effect of
- 8:081 action. And when you have discipline
- 8:12with a commitment to a runway, everything becomes possible.
- 8:16It's just a matter of time because those we know who have
- 8:20the greatest enduring success, we're not smarter, didn't have
- 8:23this unique special sauce. They had the follow through and
- 8:28the willingness to see a runway. And I know I've heard it in Tony
- 8:33Robinsons room. I don't know if he's the
- 8:34originator content quote this source came from, but it's we
- 8:39will underestimate our long term impact and we will overestimate
- 8:44our short-term capability. But discipline is the key third
- 8:49piece of what I think it takes for me to be great and to have
- 8:53that unapologetic magnetic. I want to be part of that space
- 8:59is the commitment to risk. I actually think that becoming
- 9:04an entrepreneur is one of the safest things you can do, which
- 9:06I know is not a popular narrative because when you are
- 9:10an entrepreneur, whether you're a solopreneur building to that
- 9:13first million, you're starting to build team, you're letting
- 9:16risk be at the table, but you are biologically wired to
- 9:19survive and you are the least risky person that you know
- 9:23because you can control how you show up, the work you do and the
- 9:27values in which you do it in. And so I want you to give
- 9:31yourself permission to de risk your future by choosing you.
- 9:37I want you to give yourself permission to make mistakes and
- 9:40to evolve, and I want you to have permission to be
- 9:44unapologetic that we're not here for a little success in our own
- 9:49eyes. We're here for success on epic
- 9:52levels. And I've shared this with
- 9:55communities when I've hosted events.
- 9:56I have a simple goal this year to love my life more and I have
- 10:02a great life. I have integrity, discipline, I
- 10:05take risks, I play with cool people.
- 10:07I make the ask. I live my life by my own
- 10:10measures. It's awesome, my friends, but
- 10:14the fact is, I'm willing to bet on myself and I will tell you
- 10:19that that's not something I started when I was early early
- 10:22in my career, but I learned that I was a safe bet.
- 10:25I watched the evidence and truthfully I had others pointed
- 10:29out to me when I wobbled and couldn't see it myself.
- 10:33The fourth thing I think is imperative that you need if you
- 10:35want to take greatness and justify the risk, is that you
- 10:41have to have courage. You must have the courage to go
- 10:45forth and to go into circumstances, rooms and ideas
- 10:50where you're like, I don't know what I don't know.
- 10:54That's OK. But you have to bring curiosity
- 10:58with you. You have to pursue your
- 11:01greatness with a courage that says I give myself the space.
- 11:06Note, I didn't say grace, but the space to blaze the trail, to
- 11:12recognize that it's hard and I expect it to be I get bumped, I
- 11:16get bruised, I pick myself up, I have tears, I have moments.
- 11:20And I also feel the light, the energy, and the anticipation of
- 11:25wow, the first dawn of a new idea, the first win, the
- 11:31momentum and the front row seat to the story I'm creating.
- 11:35And I know I write it because I choose it.
- 11:39And I have the courage and the belief that I can face anything.
- 11:45The final piece of this, which I think you need to hear from me,
- 11:49is that it is about recognizing your humanness and in that
- 11:57humanness, bringing a sense of humbleness.
- 12:02We are not great on our own. We're great in relationship with
- 12:06others. And so as you rise to your
- 12:09potential and you step into the bold dreams you have, you must
- 12:13be of service to others. And if you want to create
- 12:17exponential wealth and you want to create that unapologetic
- 12:21success measure and you want to be at that elite group, that 1%,
- 12:26that 2%, that 5%, but a single digit of top tier performance,
- 12:32you must rise to your potential. And you don't rise there from
- 12:37observing. You do by getting in the arena
- 12:40and unique good people around you.
- 12:45People who will hold your vision, support your vision,
- 12:48provide the knowledge, the cheerleading, the ass kicking.
- 12:53Nobody gets there by themselves and I always joke to people and
- 12:59it was something my bestie told me back when I was probably
- 13:01about 20 years of age, he said. You're allowed to be a hot mess
- 13:06and a work in progress because we love who you are becoming,
- 13:10but we love the fact of who you are in the journey and it's OK
- 13:17to stumble and it's OK to celebrate when you are freaking
- 13:21so impressed with myself. I'm proud that I had the
- 13:25integrity, discipline, risk taking, attitude, courage and
- 13:30awareness to say this is cool, this is me, unapologetic.
- 13:37The world can take it or leave it, but I really like who I see
- 13:40in the mirror because everything becomes possible when you choose
- 13:45you. I invite you today to be
- 13:49unapologetic about what you want.
- 13:53As an unapologetic woman, I have great heart, great tenacity,
- 13:57great commitment, grit, and a great sense of humor about the
- 14:02foils and the folly of having this audacious goal that just
- 14:08gets bigger every year. And I think that you want that,
- 14:15and I know that you're learning for it, so I'm giving you
- 14:20permission if you need it, to go after what you want.
- 14:27There's no such thing as unapologetic, unnecessary
- 14:36mistakes. Step into your greatness.
- 14:42Think it's greatness. You already are, and it's OK to
- 14:46be hungry. As my friend last says, it's OK
- 14:49to want more, but I also want to give you this.
- 14:53It's not enough to just want it. If you're here listening to
- 14:56amplify your marketing message, If you're a peer of mine,
- 14:59chances are you're well past the want stage.
- 15:03That fire slit and you need fuel sources.
- 15:07Well, you need to be in rooms where that 1%, that 2%, we make
- 15:12decisions fast, we play along the way, and we have a heck of a
- 15:16lot of vitality because we're living life on our own success
- 15:21measures. This is your invitation to be in
- 15:24that room. Come connect to me.
- 15:28Connect me on your favorite social platform and tell me what

- 15:53awesome. Come connect and we will see you
