- 0:00Uh.
- 0:03Jasmine, oolong, green
- 0:06and white. Long ago, these four
- 0:08teas were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:12Then everything changed when the shop's
- 0:14popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr. Okeron, the shop's owner and tea
- 0:20master, could do was to recruit four teenage
- 0:23orphans to learn his trade and staff his
- 0:25shop. A year has passed since the orphans were
- 0:28hired, and although their skills have progressed, they
- 0:31still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the
- 0:37Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the
- 0:39world. Last time on
- 0:42Benders and Brews an.
- 0:43Avatar Legends podcast island
- 0:46shores where we met. So is there any part of
- 0:49Whaletail Island that is distinct enough to,
- 0:52uh, know that's exactly where you met Mr. Okra?
- 0:55Uh, you can see in the distance, uh, there seems to
- 0:57be a flagpole that outcrops from
- 1:00a Sanderson bruise. Avatar Legends
- 1:03actively on this island. And looking at your map, you're able
- 1:06to see where it is, where you need to go next. I
- 1:09was actually totally interested in joining the pirate
- 1:12crew back then. Okay, fine. You want to know my real
- 1:15name? Okay. It's Ash. Okay. Following the map,
- 1:17you eventually find yourself, uh,
- 1:20near a cave. Discover a large chamber.
- 1:23There are plants that have sprung up thanks to this
- 1:26light, the sunlight that's able to get inside of this cave
- 1:29all throughout the cave, crawling up the
- 1:32sides of the rocky walls, as well as
- 1:35filling m the entire floor with various foliage.
- 1:38All of the plants that are in here all seem to be different
- 1:40kinds of herbs or plants that are
- 1:43often used in tea making in different
- 1:46flavorings or for their aromas.
- 1:49You manage to sniff your way over to
- 1:52the mint. Can see a small
- 1:55corner of what looks like a wooden box.
- 1:57Inside you find a small stone
- 2:00tablet that seems to feature a
- 2:03map like drawing on it. But when you look
- 2:06at the edges of this tablet, you feel
- 2:09as though maybe it's been broken and there
- 2:11might be more pieces to it. Additionally, you
- 2:14find a small letter to Bill, and then there is
- 2:17another letter to Guao to hear a voice
- 2:20from behind you at the entrance of the
- 2:23well.
- 2:26A, um, bunch of kids just chilling
- 2:29in a cave on my island. And
- 2:32as you turn around, you see a large group of
- 2:35pirates all blocking the entrance to the cave,
- 2:38staring at you.
- 2:44Hey, welcome back, everybody, to another episode, uh, of
- 2:47the, uh, Benders and Brews
- 2:49podcast. There we go. It has been a while since we
- 2:52have been in the studio together recording a new
- 2:55episode. So it might not seem long to you guys
- 2:58because an episode keeps coming out every week. Uh,
- 3:00so you guys get the good end of the
- 3:03stick. Uh, but here in the studio, sometimes
- 3:06it's an interesting, fun, uh, challenge to
- 3:09get things scheduled. But here we are, again. We're back. Uh,
- 3:12what year is it?
- 3:15I think it's
- 3:172023,
- 3:20the year of our Lord. I feel like they
- 3:23just say that. You just say that, right? The year of
- 3:26our Lord. 2023. Yep. Yep.
- 3:28Explicitly. Um, awesome. Well,
- 3:31welcome back, all of you in the little room we
- 3:34call the studio. Uh, I hope you guys
- 3:37had a good time up until
- 3:40now.
- 3:43We were having fun until you called us back here.
- 3:46That's true. Yes. I've ruined our proverbial
- 3:49vacation. It is summer it is summer of
- 3:512023. So yeah, we all kind of, like, had vacations
- 3:54or other stuff that came up. Connor, uh, did
- 3:57ragbry, if you know what that is.
- 4:00Cool. Uh, it was sick.
- 4:03It is a bike challenge.
- 4:06It's not really a race, right?
- 4:07No, it's not a race. It's more of, like a marathon
- 4:10of bikes.
- 4:10Can you go?
- 4:12Well, it goes from the left side of Iowa all the way to the
- 4:15other side, so I think it's 500 miles in total.
- 4:17That's right. We also have another individual
- 4:20in the studio with us that's not normally in the studio with
- 4:23us, in case you hear her in the background.
- 4:27Um, so that's exciting too. So big news all
- 4:29around. Except for Cameron. He didn't have any big
- 4:32news. Wow.
- 4:35Do you have big news? Uh, what's your
- 4:38biggest news? I pre ordered
- 4:41some new expansion for Arc
- 4:44Nova. Hey. All right, well, there you go.
- 4:46Fantastic. Awesome. I watched Terminator Two.
- 4:49Oh, okay. For the first time. It was pretty good.
- 4:52Yeah. We've been withholding spoilers from you for such a
- 4:55long time. I appreciate all of it. I'm pretty sure I
- 4:58fell asleep. I was not into any of the
- 5:01Terminator movies. That's just me. But
- 5:04anyways, let's jump into the fun facts, character facts. So,
- 5:07uh, Connor Connor, aka Brock. What do you
- 5:10got?
- 5:10Yeah, so Brock, uh, when,
- 5:13uh, he needs to get a workout in, he can just
- 5:16literally just grab the ground, and he knows
- 5:19exactly how much weight he wants to pull. So he'll pull exactly
- 5:22that much weight out of the ground with him out of stone.
- 5:25It's how he stays fit, how he stays
- 5:27chiseled, uh, on these adventures.
- 5:30Big and swole and muscular,
- 5:33as we all know him for.
- 5:34Mhm big, swole, muscular man.
- 5:36Some people have perfect pitch. Brock has, like
- 5:39what would you call it? Perfect pound.
- 5:42Perfect pound.
- 5:44Control over his ah. Yeah.
- 5:47Is it that he perfectly knows how much to grab, or
- 5:50is it just that he tries to pull as much as he can and only
- 5:53pulls his limit, but then he says
- 5:56it's because.
- 5:57He wanted if
- 6:00he's going for reps, you can't pull his one
- 6:03rep max there. It's like, okay, so I want to pull, like,
- 6:05100 pounds. And he just knows.
- 6:08He just sticks his hands in the ground. He just pulls
- 6:11up 100 pounds.
- 6:13That's a weird talent. That is a weird talent. It's like
- 6:16being able to put your finger into water and know exactly what temperature
- 6:19it is. It's like if you were to go to a gym and
- 6:21then I did a bench press and then they put on an
- 6:24unknown amount of weight and then he had to do one rep and then tell you exactly
- 6:27how much was on it. That's his talent.
- 6:28That's what he does.
- 6:30All Right. Dave playing
- 6:32Guao. Guo
- 6:35Guao. So, Guo Han,
- 6:38uh, going to get a little meta here, because
- 6:41I was trying to think of interesting facts about the
- 6:44character, and I'm like,
- 6:46have I done this fact before? I can't
- 6:49remember. Maybe we'll do it again.
- 6:52That's kind of how I am in real life. Sometimes
- 6:55given a certain set of
- 6:58inputs, I will come
- 7:01up with the same joke and then realize
- 7:04later that I've made that same joke
- 7:07previously. Okay. And it's not
- 7:10like I'm doing it on purpose. Like it's a bit. Because
- 7:13there's always the callback bit or
- 7:16whatever. Right. Sometimes I just
- 7:19forget and my brain
- 7:22just gives the same creative
- 7:25or non creative output. That's
- 7:28Fair. No, that's totally fair.
- 7:31Does that as well. He calls it the
- 7:34old reliable. The old reliable. That's
- 7:36Right. Guo is the old reliable callback
- 7:40bit. Perfect. Boy. Yes.
- 7:42Boy. Yes. Absolutely. Awesome.
- 7:45Fantastic. Expect to hear some classics
- 7:48from old Guo. Um cameron
- 7:50playing Bill Dor. What's Bill
- 7:53Dore doing these days? Or all his
- 7:56days. I said this beforehand, uh,
- 7:59and I think I'll go with it. Uh,
- 8:02Bill goes down to the old folks home and he plays
- 8:04pie show with the old folks. Okay. As well
- 8:07as the park. As well as the park. Well, yeah,
- 8:10that too. But there's reason he goes to the old folks home is because he
- 8:13visits the one old guy, uh, from the
- 8:16prequel. Oh, from the episode we recorded just
- 8:19recently.
- 8:19Mr. Kuro.
- 8:21It could be a long time ago. We don't know. Well, it'll be,
- 8:23what, two episodes ago, I Believe. The one shot
- 8:26when this aired? Yeah, the Bill and Brock one Shot, if you
- 8:29haven't listened to that, highly recommend It. It was very entertaining. But there's
- 8:32an old guy in it, and his name's Coro. And,
- 8:35uh, Bill goes and plays pie show
- 8:38with him. And just to keep up with him because, uh, he kind of
- 8:40takes a little blame for why he's in.
- 8:43Yeah, yeah. And he takes some blame.
- 8:46I Like To think that Kuro has know Where He's
- 8:49at, realized maybe Some Of The errors of his ways, maybe Let
- 8:52go of some things, which is really healthy.
- 8:56That's what Bill does. He Doesn't
- 8:58Go A lot, to be honest, but enough
- 9:01that's know a couple times A. Right.
- 9:04Right. Which is fair. Right on. Well, good for Bill. Good
- 9:07for Bill. Nice community service, hanging out With Old
- 9:10people. All Right. Michaela playing
- 9:13Mika. Do you got?
- 9:15Um um, yeah, I
- 9:18guess.
- 9:18Oh, she guesses.
- 9:21Well, me and the ghost writer were talking about
- 9:24my fun fact. And apparently
- 9:27Mika had an illegitimate
- 9:30child.
- 9:31What?
- 9:34Just recently.
- 9:35What this lore, what.
- 9:4017? Yeah. Is that kind of
- 9:42concerning?
- 9:45Is that why you didn't go with us to the
- 9:48pirate island?
- 9:52Okay, she's with you at the pirate okay, hold on. She was an
- 9:55NPC at one point, right? I'm
- 9:57confused.
- 9:58Okay. No, but for real.
- 10:01Um, me.
- 10:03Michaela had a baby.
- 10:05Yeah.
- 10:07If you hear little noises in the background, sorry, it's her.
- 10:11But, um, as for Mika, she actually
- 10:14does not want a family of her own someday. So
- 10:17there is no illegitimate child.
- 10:19Okay, I was going to say
- 10:22man, we're going to have wow.
- 10:26So to clarify, with all those listening out
- 10:29there, there is no illegitimate child. That was a
- 10:31joke. I just really
- 10:34want to emphasize that for everyone listening so
- 10:37that we don't get the right idea going forward.
- 10:40Um, it could just explain some of the background.
- 10:43Right, right. Going forward,
- 10:46Michaela, M. And Dave did have a
- 10:49legitimate child, and she
- 10:52is with us today in the studio. I was going to say this
- 10:54leaves the door open still for her having
- 10:57a legitimate child and a
- 11:00secret husband. Yes, it's
- 11:03the illegitimate husband, but a legitimate
- 11:08awesome. All right, well, let's jump into
- 11:11it.
- 11:15All right, so you all
- 11:17left off last time as you
- 11:20realized you were trapped inside the cave, uh, that you
- 11:23had found, uh, based on Mr. Okaron's
- 11:26map that he had given you and the riddle that was associated
- 11:29with it. You found some interesting hints and clues
- 11:32and a map piece that will help, uh, move you
- 11:35towards your end goal of finding the will. Uh,
- 11:38sort of the backup copy of the will, I suppose, that Mr.
- 11:41Okaron had left behind. Um oh, no,
- 11:44it's the official will. Um, I digress.
- 11:47Uh, you went into this cave that is on Whaletail Island
- 11:50and you found all this stuff, and then you turned around, only
- 11:53to find out that you were surrounded by
- 11:56pirates, and they have captured you,
- 11:59and they are taking you back to their ship. Now,
- 12:02two of you, two of the members of this group recognize
- 12:05the leader and maybe a couple of the pirates that are
- 12:07involved. Um, and that would be Bildor and
- 12:10GuoHan. Both of you have had a run in with, at
- 12:13the very least, the Pirate Captain.
- 12:16And you recognize him. He looks a little
- 12:18familiar. One thing that you do notice that's a little bit different since
- 12:21the last time that you saw him is one of his
- 12:24legs kind of like, um,
- 12:26from his knee down to his
- 12:29well, the rest of his leg is made of stone,
- 12:32so he kind of hobbles it. He obviously must
- 12:35be an Earthbender because
- 12:38he can move it to some extent. Uh, but it still looks a
- 12:41little bit awkward. So, um, it's not like a full limp. It
- 12:44almost can move normally like a normal leg
- 12:47would. Uh, but obviously, it's very obvious that it's made out
- 12:50of a stone material. Um, and it
- 12:53seems that the rest of his leg is gone.
- 12:56Needless, uh, to say, they are leading you back to their
- 12:59ship somewhat, um, roughly. But
- 13:01unless you guys are cooperating for the most part
- 13:04okay, sure. Yeah. Let's say okay. Does he recognize
- 13:07us? He does not recognize you. Uh, I think both
- 13:10of you have aged at least a little bit to a
- 13:13point where he might not necessarily catch on, or
- 13:16it might be a situation, uh, of, um,
- 13:19he's just been through a lot, and he's not really thinking
- 13:22back. I think, at the very least, um, given his
- 13:25interactions, he definitely wouldn't recognize Guo,
- 13:27because given Guo's backstory and
- 13:30the time that he met him, uh, he didn't really meet him at
- 13:33all. You kind of, like, saw him and overheard
- 13:36a conversation he was having doing some shady
- 13:38smuggling stuff. Exactly. Yeah. And
- 13:41so you didn't even talk to him. I don't know if he necessarily
- 13:44would have seen you or would have been really passing glance. Either
- 13:47way, this one chest hair really
- 13:50distinguishes Guo
- 13:53from all the chest hair.
- 13:57He said, I might not recognize you per
- 14:00se, but I sure do recognize that third
- 14:02chest hair. Um, Bill, on the other hand, you
- 14:05spent an actual amount of time with this
- 14:08individual, um, but I would say
- 14:11that of everybody in the group, you've probably
- 14:14had the most time to change a little
- 14:17bit, uh, in some way, shape or form,
- 14:19physically maturity, uh, wise, et
- 14:21cetera. Um, I do have a scar, though.
- 14:24You do have a scar. Oh, that's true. You do have a fairly memorable
- 14:27scar. Um, weren't
- 14:30you hiding that, though? I don't hide it well. I can't
- 14:32hide it really on my right. That's true. Yes, I have a
- 14:35scar. It's on my right hand. Right.
- 14:38He might not have noticed. Whatever the case, at the very least, he
- 14:41doesn't recognize you currently. I mean, I could
- 14:44be hiding it too. That's also true. You could be hiding it right
- 14:47now. Yeah, I guess that if he doesn't
- 14:50recognize me immediately, I would definitely hide it in
- 14:53my side of my pant pocket or whatever.
- 14:56Right. And that's fair, the
- 14:59possibility that he might recognize you later. Who knows? We'll
- 15:02see. Uh, whatever the case, you guys follow, uh,
- 15:05him back to his pirate ship. They take you aboard
- 15:07their ship, and they tie you
- 15:10up, um, just kind of binding your hands and
- 15:13your legs and then kind of letting you sit down on the
- 15:16ship. Uh, the Captain starts to pace back and forth in
- 15:19front of you, and he well,
- 15:23you kids, you thought you could hide
- 15:26your secret about the treasure from us, but
- 15:29what you didn't realize was that
- 15:31Calconi and he points at one of the crewmates. He's
- 15:34a very well dressed he is, like, frilly clothes
- 15:37on. Um, you almost could
- 15:40wonder out of game that he probably belonged
- 15:43to Prince's Band or group m
- 15:46um, or just his entourage based
- 15:49on the clothes that he wears. Yes. Calconi
- 15:51was in Chin Village, and he noticed
- 15:54your whole escapade and overheard some
- 15:56conversations about a, ah, secret hidden
- 15:59treasure you guys are headed towards.
- 16:02So we're going to be
- 16:05following or kind of leading you to where you're supposed
- 16:07to be headed. But we expect a piece of the
- 16:10treasure.
- 16:15Well, at least we don't have to solve the puzzle now. They're
- 16:18just going to take us right there. Well,
- 16:21actually, the next question I was going to have is, where are
- 16:23we edited? Uh,
- 16:27did we, uh, get that far, guys? I don't think
- 16:29so. Okay?
- 16:31We were still kind of deciphering it.
- 16:34Well, I tell you what, rudely interrupted us. We
- 16:37were in the middle of that.
- 16:39All right, well, I tell you what. And he's
- 16:42like, send me the note. Send me whatever you
- 16:45got. Um, you got a
- 16:48map. You got some kind of letter telling
- 16:51you where you're supposed to go.
- 16:54Uh, what have you?
- 16:57Memories.
- 16:58Okay, uh, I guess we're going to have to
- 17:01talk about the memories.
- 17:06It's your note.
- 17:09Looking at Guo.
- 17:12Well, it feels like we were in that
- 17:15cave for months.
- 17:20Okay,
- 17:23it was less than 30 minutes. Let me
- 17:26explore the carrots of my
- 17:29memory. Okay, so you think
- 17:31back. You lift up the note.
- 17:34Uh, do you just read it to him, or do you give it to him?
- 17:37I read it.
- 17:39Well, we're tied up.
- 17:40Can you read it to me? He, like, awkwardly
- 17:42reaches into
- 17:45I start pulling out Dilbert's
- 17:48tentacles hanging on to it.
- 17:52Tie that squid up, too.
- 17:56They put, like, a little piece of twine around all his
- 17:59tentacles, and Dilbert immediately
- 18:01moves one out. It's a squid.
- 18:04You're not going to be able to hold that thing.
- 18:06What about Mika's? Uh, non existent fox dog?
- 18:09She's hiding in the bushes, apparently.
- 18:11Hiding in the non existent bush. No, I'm just kidding. She's hiding in the bushes.
- 18:14She's hiding in one of the sea bushes.
- 18:17A patch of sea cucumber.
- 18:20Not a fan of people.
- 18:23You mhm aren't either. But you're still tied up.
- 18:26Yeah, but I stuck with you guys.
- 18:28Okay? Yes. Let
- 18:31me undraw
- 18:33this letter note and read
- 18:36it. All right, so you read through the note, which
- 18:39reads, whoa. You're next up, my
- 18:41friend. When we first met, you were still working for the
- 18:44carnival. I know that we all have things in life
- 18:47we look back on and despise or wish never happened
- 18:50to us. But always remember that those
- 18:52experiences are there to m strengthen
- 18:55us. And the fact that we push on shows that
- 18:58we're stronger than the things that try to hold us
- 19:01back. Never let anyone or anything hold
- 19:04you back, lo. The coming quest of this hunt will
- 19:07rely heavily on you, my boy. But don't think
- 19:10that that doesn't mean you won't need your
- 19:12friends. And then there are a series of,
- 19:15uh, sort of bullet points. The first one
- 19:17reading, look down to the bottom for your
- 19:20next destination. The second one
- 19:23says, read between the lines to
- 19:25seek out an old friend of mine. And the third
- 19:28bullet point says, remember the tune, you'll
- 19:31need it again soon. Pull some strings to hear
- 19:34the music sing. And the
- 19:37pirate kind of looks at you, and he says, look down to the
- 19:40bottom for your next destination. What exactly does
- 19:43that mean? And he goes, Wait a minute. And he grabs
- 19:46Guo, and he kind of, like, leans him up, and he looks at
- 19:49the seat of your pant, and he says,
- 19:52this doesn't tell me anything. And it feels a little weird. And
- 19:55he puts you back down, says, what does he mean by the
- 19:58bottom for your next destination? What am I supposed to
- 20:01look that
- 20:04cloak rubs his bottom.
- 20:10Uh, what
- 20:13is this note coming? A box. Yes.
- 20:17Like a tiny chest, just like the one out this
- 20:19part already? Yeah, we
- 20:22did you, um, remember, and I'm telling you what
- 20:25you remember rather than just, like, saying you tell anybody, but you
- 20:28remember that on the bottom of the box, there was a little
- 20:30insignia, and it said that the box was
- 20:33made in Udao. Is that where we need to
- 20:35go? Yes. Okay.
- 20:38They're interpreting the information. Well, we
- 20:41believe it's possible we're supposed to go
- 20:44to Udao. Udao?
- 20:46Oh, all right. Yeah, we could do that. That's
- 20:49not too long of a jaunt. All
- 20:52right, everyone, he shouts to his
- 20:55crew, load up. Get ready to
- 20:57sail. We are headed to you
- 21:00dow. And with that,
- 21:03the boat pulls anchor.
- 21:05Your imaginary fox dog
- 21:08jumps inside the bottom of the ship somewhere and hides
- 21:11amidst the goodies. And the
- 21:14ship is on the seas,
- 21:17making its way towards you dow. Once, uh, you guys are
- 21:20on the water, he looks around.
- 21:22Um, he says, all right,
- 21:25first of all, for the business of what kind of
- 21:28benders are you? We got to know that before we get
- 21:31any further.
- 21:32Why do you need to know?
- 21:34It's important. I'll tell you after you tell
- 21:37me, but if you give me an answer, I like I'll, uh,
- 21:40untie
- 21:40you're.
- 21:47Can we have, like, a little POW wow sesh to see?
- 21:50You want me to let you have an aside on my
- 21:52ship? Yes, please. Okay,
- 21:57everybody, let these four have their peace
- 22:00between each other. Generous.
- 22:02So kind of you. Thank you.
- 22:04That's right.
- 22:05So, do you all want to lie
- 22:08or you want to tell them the truth? Just so
- 22:11we're all on the same page, are we going to lie or tell them the
- 22:14truth?
- 22:15Lie.
- 22:15Um, okay, so what do we tell them?
- 22:18I was going to say water.
- 22:20Say you're a water bender, and then.
- 22:25I'm nothing.
- 22:26You're not a bender. No, you're a stick
- 22:29bender.
- 22:31Okay, that's silly. Who would ever say they're a stick
- 22:34bender?
- 22:35So should we stay away from saying firebenders? Because I don't
- 22:38think they would want any of firebenders on a wooden ship.
- 22:41Firebender on it anywhere. Actually,
- 22:43probably not friends with the fire.
- 22:45But we're in the middle of the ocean.
- 22:48I don't know, maybe just not say fire.
- 22:53So I'll say, like, water as
- 22:55well. We're just all
- 22:58waterbenders.
- 22:59I think I'll just say
- 23:01truth. Maybe
- 23:04I'll lead with a joke, and then I'll just
- 23:08okay, so you leave.
- 23:10With a joke, follow with the truth, and then based on his response,
- 23:13we'll see if we want to be truthful or lie
- 23:16to him.
- 23:16I will say what I feel
- 23:19like in the moment.
- 23:20Yeah, sounds good.
- 23:21All right. Okay. Ready? Break. You say
- 23:24all tied, uh, up. Break. You just all, like, nod your
- 23:27heads, and you kind of, like, shuffle background.
- 23:30Oh, am I allowed to come over and talk to
- 23:33you now? No, I, uh, mean, I was
- 23:36just standing away far enough. Are
- 23:39there
- 23:41unnoticed discussion, uh, between the
- 23:44four of you? Then from
- 23:47behind Bill, you hear, now
- 23:50presenting the amazing
- 23:55and then guillau tops out.
- 24:05So you just kind of fall
- 24:08over jazz hands a little
- 24:11less impressive,
- 24:14like, down by my hips or right next to my
- 24:17face?
- 24:19A little bit of both.
- 24:21Uh, I am, uh, a
- 24:24body bender, and
- 24:29I take my finger and I bend it back
- 24:32and touch my wrist.
- 24:38You know, I won't lie, that is
- 24:41quite impressive. I remember once I
- 24:44did some dealings with a feller that was in
- 24:47the circus, but I don't
- 24:49remember seeing anyone that could do quite that, so well
- 24:52done.
- 24:55The other side.
- 24:59Um, some of the pirate crew are, like, clapping.
- 25:03I put them, like, both together and press them
- 25:06so the fingers are pushing each other
- 25:09back. You just look like you're doing, like, narito
- 25:11thing. Nice. Yeah, smart. M. Be a lot easier
- 25:14to do this if I wasn't all tied up. Oh,
- 25:17yeah. The pirate captain starts to kind of, like, walk away from you
- 25:20a little bit, and he's like, oh, yeah, that sure would be nice. And
- 25:23he turns around really fast, and he's holding a bucket of mop
- 25:26water, and he slings it towards you.
- 25:31Wait,
- 25:36okay, so you're all wet. Nothing happens. He goes, oh, okay.
- 25:39All right. Good to know. Good to know. He's probably
- 25:42not a waterbender,
- 25:45but also, I'm an Earthbender. Uh,
- 25:48we're not the best Earthbender, but I can move some
- 25:51stuff. He walks up to you, and he puts his hand on your shoulder,
- 25:54and he's like, it took you a little while, but I appreciate your
- 25:57honesty. And then he turns to the rest of you, and he's like, all
- 26:00right, what about the rest of you? Um, I'm a stick
- 26:03bender with his
- 26:05mouth fighting. Good.
- 26:11He says, okay, m.
- 26:14And he walks around for a little bit, and he's like,
- 26:17Crap. That mop water thing was a
- 26:20one tride deal. He's out of mop water.
- 26:24Good thing there's no more water around this boat.
- 26:29You see him lean over to one of the other pirates, and he whispers something
- 26:32in their ear. And they run
- 26:34downstairs into the
- 26:37Millership. And then all of a sudden, this big
- 26:40hefty, uh, pirate dude in like a
- 26:43chef's hat comes walking up, and he's carrying a stick
- 26:45with some hot burning end or
- 26:48whatever, and he hands it to the Pirate Captain. He's
- 26:51like. You wouldn't be lying to me,
- 26:54would you? And he starts moving it towards you closer and closer
- 26:57and closer to your face. Dude.
- 26:58Dude, dude. He has a stick.
- 27:00Uh, I've got a stick, too,
- 27:03and it's pretty hot. I'm sure a
- 27:06firebender would trying to motion
- 27:08above my head to my bow staff that
- 27:11is on my back. Oh, that's a nice staff you
- 27:14got there. I hope you have the eyes to be
- 27:17able to see where you're
- 27:20I can't bend. I just use a stick. He puts it
- 27:22like quarter of an inch from your face. You
- 27:25can feel the heat starting to sting your cheek a little bit.
- 27:28I'm definitely pushing away from that. Okay?
- 27:32He sees you struggling and squirming. He goes. Okay.
- 27:34All right. I suppose you're not
- 27:37a firebender, and that's good.
- 27:41All right. What about the other two of you?
- 27:44I am also an earthbender, like
- 27:47my friend Guo here.
- 27:49Well, that was easy. All right.
- 27:52Figured.
- 27:53Just move it along.
- 27:55I appreciate that. All right, little lady.
- 27:59Uh, he's too m nice.
- 28:04As he tests all of us.
- 28:06Well, he didn't test me.
- 28:09I don't know what you're talking about.
- 28:10I'm having a great time the first time. And, well, he
- 28:13still threatened to poke me with a stick, so I don't know.
- 28:17I don't know. Test Me. I'm having a great
- 28:20time. I'm Chilling.
- 28:21He starts to come towards you with the burning stick, and he's
- 28:24like, well, tell me what you are,
- 28:28girl. Uh, okay. Give
- 28:31me more details about your bending
- 28:33abilities.
- 28:34Oh, I don't have any of those.
- 28:37And he gets really close with the.
- 28:39Burn and I start crying
- 28:42kind of bad.
- 28:43All right, cookie, take this away. He hands
- 28:46the fiery stick back to his chef, who takes it back.
- 28:49He goes. All right, untie the lot. If they're just a bunch
- 28:52of earthbenders and nonbenders, they're not going to cause us any trouble
- 28:55out, uh, here on the sea. But
- 28:58that does mean we can put them to work. And
- 29:01everyone goes, Ha.
- 29:04Uh, actually,
- 29:07that, uh, is a good point. You will be mopping.
- 29:13Good thing he grabbed it first. I need
- 29:16some of it. Does anybody else like to mop as well?
- 29:21I know my way around. Uh, some dirty
- 29:24water.
- 29:25All right, then you'll be mopping along with him there.
- 29:28Bill loves to clean bathrooms. Wait,
- 29:31no. All right, hold on. I only
- 29:34need two moppers. So he hands both of you a
- 29:37mop and a bucket. It really
- 29:40Doesn't Matter Where You Start the whole thing needs to be Mop
- 29:43seawater and whatnot, so just get to it
- 29:46all? Uh, right. There are other two of you. I'm sending you down to
- 29:49help Cookie in, uh, the
- 29:51kitchen making food and
- 29:54washing dishes.
- 29:55No.
- 30:00Why are you saying no? Mika, you did that all the time back
- 30:03at our job.
- 30:05Yeah, I don't want to do it.
- 30:06You're basically like, man when
- 30:09Mr. O'clock. You should have hopped on Mop.
- 30:12Dude, I was off
- 30:14permanently.
- 30:18That sounds great. Well, good.
- 30:21He's got a good attitude about this. All
- 30:24right, break. Go. Get to work. Great.
- 30:27What what's your name? My name
- 30:30is Captain Rockfoot.
- 30:35Did you have that name before you.
- 30:36Got that foot and
- 30:39calconi? Uh, the guy that he mentioned earlier is just
- 30:42don't don't ask him about that.
- 30:45Well, if you're going to name yourself Rockfoot, I
- 30:48feel like if it's not.
- 30:51You want to know the story? Yes.
- 30:54Ah, anything to get me out of
- 30:57mop duty for as long as I can.
- 30:59I'll tell you the story.
- 31:02Once, not too long ago,
- 31:05I used to be known as Captain
- 31:07Luckyfoot. But then
- 31:10we were attacked by a
- 31:12creature straight from the depths of, uh,
- 31:15hell. We call it
- 31:18Kuma. It's a great
- 31:20sea serpent mixed with a sort
- 31:23of gator creature. It's a gator shark.
- 31:26I don't know why it said the rest of the description. It's a gator
- 31:28shark. Leapt onto our boat,
- 31:31bit off my leg, milucky leg, and
- 31:34jumped right back into the waters to feast on it.
- 31:38A gator shark. Whoa. Yes, quite a
- 31:40creature. A dangerous creature, to be
- 31:43exact. And it's somewhere
- 31:46out there. I'll find it one of these days.
- 31:49But for now, we're headed to Udal to get some treasure.
- 31:52Eh, it wasn't really a question, but
- 31:57there you go. Good. Pirates will be all right. Anyway,
- 32:00that's the story. Get to work. And he sends you guys off to your
- 32:03respective areas. Are you still tied, uh, up? No. He is
- 32:06untied.
- 32:11Are you, like me, a fan of
- 32:14piracy or privateering? Um,
- 32:17out in your DND campaign? Well, check
- 32:20this out. We have been working on a brand new
- 32:23airship combat system. That means
- 32:25you and your privateer crew can now take to
- 32:28the skies and pillage at new
- 32:31heights. Within this system, you will
- 32:33get three dimensional dynamic movement and
- 32:36combat rules. You'll get, uh, a brand new
- 32:39updated aircrew system, as well
- 32:42as brand new spells, items,
- 32:44creatures, and example airships for you to
- 32:47use in your campaign, as well as crews to
- 32:50put on them. But I think the coolest part about
- 32:52all of this is we have a custom ship
- 32:55builder application that will allow you to customize
- 32:58and build your very own
- 33:00airship. It means you and your
- 33:03team can have exactly what you want as you take
- 33:06on the skies. If you're interested in
- 33:09any of that, check out our sky Zephyrs kickstarter
- 33:12here at Herme. And the dude.

- 34:36and even more down the road when we.
- 34:38Come up with ideas.
- 34:39So head on over to Tea Public and search for Benders and

- 34:53because all of us at the studio would love to see it.
- 34:56Thanks for listening.
- 34:57Let's get back to the show.
- 35:04Uh, those who are mopping are placed
- 35:06with the
- 35:09sailing master, and
- 35:11she watches over you guys just to make sure that you guys are doing your
- 35:14work. Uh, she also directs other people on the ship as they are
- 35:17doing their work. Um, yeah,
- 35:20I'll leave it at that in case you guys want to talk to her and
- 35:23find out more. For those that are downstairs inside
- 35:26the ship, you are with the cook, who, as
- 35:29previously mentioned's, name is Cookie. It is an
- 35:32old monk with Airbending tattoos
- 35:35all over his body. And as we've mentioned before,
- 35:38uh, with the timeline, this is technically kind of in
- 35:41the very early stages of the Fire Nation
- 35:44starting kind of their World War
- 35:46concept. So, um,
- 35:48airbenders, although not often
- 35:51seen, are not unseen.
- 35:54Uh, you might come across them every once in a while. This would be
- 35:57like as Aang is growing up,
- 36:00um, way out there in the Air temple kind of
- 36:03concept. So you guys don't see them very often, but you might have
- 36:06run across them in your travels. Uh, this
- 36:08man, yeah, he's very quiet. He's,
- 36:11like I said, older, and he's stirring away at a big old
- 36:14pot. So you guys come in, and he kind of directs you to
- 36:17chopping up vegetables, chopping up some
- 36:20meats, uh, a variety of other
- 36:23kitchen tasks, cleaning the occasional dishes, make sure that
- 36:26he can use them for the next part of whatever it is that he's making.
- 36:29It looks like a big old pot of stew.
- 36:31So anybody like to
- 36:34interact in any way, shape, or form or do
- 36:37anything specific? Find out more about
- 36:39the crew?
- 36:40Maybe I'll go over
- 36:43and talk to that woman, sue.
- 36:45Okay, so, yeah, you go up to talk to sue. Um,
- 36:48she says, what are you doing, lad? Get back to
- 36:51work.
- 36:52I need to mop everywhere. I figure I could mop here,
- 36:55and.
- 36:56Standing there, mopping in front of her, talking
- 36:59to her.
- 37:00I'll just mop right here, right around here. Any, uh,
- 37:02tips? You could tell me who you
- 37:05guys are, what we're doing here?
- 37:08Oh, you want to know about the pirates? Why are you interested in the
- 37:10pirate life there, fella?
- 37:13Well, uh, I mean, you're giving us a lift over to where we
- 37:16need to go, so I'm interested in it, at least
- 37:19right now.
- 37:20Well, first things first. You need to look up there, and she points
- 37:23up towards where the flag is kept at the very top of the crow's
- 37:26nest, the mast. And, uh,
- 37:28above there, you see a blood red
- 37:31flag. And in sort of a white pattern, you
- 37:34see the classic crossbones. But instead of a
- 37:37skull, you see a boar's head. She
- 37:40says, that's right. We're the bloody
- 37:42Borcupines.
- 37:45That's a cool name.
- 37:46Pretty cool. Absolutely. We're a pretty famous
- 37:49pirate crew for sure.
- 37:52Sailing the seas and causing all sorts
- 37:55of Aracus and troubles.
- 37:58What else do you want to know?
- 38:00Uh, why do you want to
- 38:03just kidnap four kids
- 38:06here? Why'd you guys want to kidnap us?
- 38:09Well, we want your treasure, of course.
- 38:11The treasure is like it's just a
- 38:14slip of paper, man.
- 38:16See, now the lies happen, so you should have said that kind of
- 38:19thing before we pulled you off the shores.
- 38:21Well,
- 38:25hindsight is 2020, as they say. So who
- 38:28are you?
- 38:29My name is sue.
- 38:30And, uh, what do you do on the ship here, sue?
- 38:33Yes, I'm the sailing master. I do a lot of the
- 38:36navigating, the planning
- 38:38strategizing, so on and so
- 38:40forth, when it comes to where we should go, when we should
- 38:43go, and what we need to do while we're there.
- 38:46Okay, well, uh, since we'll be
- 38:49sort of roommates for the next few days, uh,
- 38:52any particular people we should be looking out for on this ship?
- 38:55Looking out for? What are you worried about?
- 38:57Nothing. Just in case. Just don't want to
- 39:00get on anybody's bad side. And if there's anyone with a particularly
- 39:03short fuse or anything like that, we
- 39:06just want to try and steer clear.
- 39:07Short fuse? A. Well, we definitely have those. You see that man
- 39:10over there? And she points, and then up at where standing
- 39:13right next to the captain who's kind of steering the ship. Uh, you
- 39:16see a sort of stern
- 39:20man, uh, who stands with such a presence. That suggests that
- 39:23maybe he was part of a military group of some kind.
- 39:26Probably a high ranking, uh, military group,
- 39:29whatever the case. Um, very chiseled
- 39:32face, uh, fairly well built.
- 39:34And, uh, she says, that right there, that's
- 39:37Bango. He is the hothead of the
- 39:40crew. He's the first mate to the captain. And,
- 39:43uh, he used to be some sort of, uh,
- 39:45earthbender general captain. I'm not
- 39:48sure, but, uh, he's not somebody
- 39:51that you want to mess with or get on the wrong side
- 39:53of. Okay. All right.
- 39:56Well, uh, what did this
- 39:59sue lady look like? Oh, yeah, sue. So
- 40:02she wears, um, waterbender garb,
- 40:04actually. Um, she's got kind of like the
- 40:07blue to kind of almost
- 40:10grayish colored, uh, robes
- 40:13that really suggest waterbender with the fur on
- 40:16the boots with the fur. Uh,
- 40:18other things with the fur. The fur, like, fringe things
- 40:21along those lines. Um, she seems
- 40:25maybe in her late 20s, early
- 40:2830s. So she's, like, fairly young. But she
- 40:31definitely looks like she's always kind of
- 40:33keeping an eye about her, um, even when you're talking
- 40:36to her. She kind of, like, glances around, glances
- 40:39at the sea. Um, seems like easily distracted,
- 40:42but you're not sure if she's easily distracted or she's just very
- 40:45keen. Where
- 40:48did Bill get drafted to? Where's Bill
- 40:51at right now? He went down, uh, into the
- 40:54ship where they have the kitchen at. Uh, and
- 40:57I'm up on the deck with
- 40:59right with Brock. I go
- 41:02lean over to Brock. I'm like, Brock,
- 41:05did I just hear you're rumin'with? That
- 41:07lady nice.
- 41:10I mean, like, not yet, but
- 41:13she wants me.
- 41:14You can tell.
- 41:16I just kind of give a little fist bump, and then.
- 41:20I want to.
- 41:21Walk over to sue.
- 41:22Just, like, goes and she rolls her
- 41:25eyes, and she just walks away back
- 41:28to mopping.
- 41:29See, she avoided it.
- 41:31She blocks me.
- 41:33So I want to sort of stroll over
- 41:36to Bango. But if you have more to say.
- 41:39To, uh, Sue, I say, don't worry, sue.
- 41:42I'm on it. And I start climbing up to the
- 41:44crow's nest because I think she wanted me to mop up
- 41:47there. What are you doing? I'm, uh,
- 41:50mopping. She
- 41:53pauses for a moment. She says, I guess nobody
- 41:55ever does mop up there. I think about it. That place
- 41:58probably reeks. Yeah. They told
- 42:01me to clean this ship from top to bottom.
- 42:04Well, uh, all right. I can't argue with that.
- 42:07Fair enough. All right. And Guo climbs up there,
- 42:10and is there anybody up there currently? Uh,
- 42:13no. And he cleans it out cleans
- 42:16out a little Guo sized area first,
- 42:19suitable for napping.
- 42:23You see, uh, Calconi is, like, walking by
- 42:25underneath the crow's nest, and there's a water, like,
- 42:28dripping down. And it gets onto his frilly shirt. And he
- 42:31goes, oh,
- 42:36keep it to yourself up there. I feel like this
- 42:38wasn't exactly what he sounded like. But
- 42:41also, there is one huge trait that you forgot about
- 42:44cocoon. Oh. He speaks in very heat.
- 42:47Eloquent. Eloquent. But you forgot
- 42:50his legs are tiny, but his upper body
- 42:52is absolutely jacked.
- 42:59He had to turn sideways to walk through
- 43:01doorways because that's how big his upper body
- 43:04was. You're right. The factor
- 43:07didn't say that kind of upset me. I'm
- 43:10so sorry. Yes. No, you're 100% right. He's like
- 43:13very Grony little man with this huge upper body.
- 43:16He is the prime example of a dorito
- 43:19bod. Yes.
- 43:22But, uh, his voice is, like, super high.
- 43:26But, uh, he continues walking. I say,
- 43:29think fast, big mouth. And I
- 43:33ring my mop out in his general
- 43:35direction. I ring my
- 43:38mop in your general direction.
- 43:43Did you bring a bucket up there, too? Yeah.
- 43:46So you brought a mop and a bucket and you're climbing up to
- 43:49a crow's nest?
- 43:52He was in the circus.
- 43:54That's true. He shimmied up pretty easy.
- 43:57I wasn't even going to make him roll for anything.
- 44:00Although now, um, I kind of want to make him roll for something.
- 44:02Well, now when he's trying to drop mop bucket
- 44:06uh, this guy, huh?
- 44:10Yeah, he kind of looks like that guy. Yeah. Ah. Do you want to do a push your
- 44:13luck? Yeah, of course.
- 44:16My first thought was, um, when Skyler first
- 44:19described him to me, was Mugshot from the Sly Cooper
- 44:21series who's so big and buff that he
- 44:24walks on his hand to his legs because his legs are so
- 44:27puny. Right. That was my
- 44:30first thought. Uh, I was thinking kind of along the lines of, like,
- 44:33Max from Cats Don't dance.
- 44:36He was like the butler, and he was just that
- 44:38massive dude. But he kind of had, like, pretty
- 44:41normal tiny legs, so he walked really
- 44:44weird.
- 44:47I got an eleven. Nice. All right. Your
- 44:50boldness pays off. Despite the cost, you gain an
- 44:53additional lucky opportunity. Okay. Um,
- 44:55no, I totally get that. So you ring this mop
- 44:58out, and sure enough, this big splash of
- 45:01dirty water splashes all over
- 45:04Calconi. And he says,
- 45:08I do say why, but as you do
- 45:11this, you listen and you hear everyone
- 45:14else that's on the top deck that just saw you do this
- 45:16starts cracking up, laughing. Ah, they
- 45:19all got a kick out of it. Um, and to top
- 45:22that off, Calconi says, well, I do
- 45:25say, I see how it is. I will
- 45:28take my leave. And he storms
- 45:31off and kind of disappears into the ship, probably to
- 45:34his room. Or turning sideways. Yes, turning
- 45:36sideways to go in through the doorway. He disappears inside the
- 45:39ship. So just putting this out there, I don't know if
- 45:42it's really an opportunity that you're looking to take advantage of,
- 45:45but firstly, everybody seems to have
- 45:48enjoyed your sense of humor. So that's points
- 45:51for you as far as that goes. Um, and to top it
- 45:54off, you have one less individual on the deck of the ship
- 45:57in case you did want to cause any kind of questionable, um,
- 46:00acts or trouble.
- 46:02What's that?
- 46:03And sue left.
- 46:04Sue left. But she's still, like, on the deck. She's
- 46:07just elsewhere doing what she
- 46:09does. Um, all right, for the two that are
- 46:12inside, uh, of the ship,
- 46:15hanging out with Cookie, uh, Cookie
- 46:18seems like a very chill individual. Like I said, he's
- 46:21a bit older. Um, he's very peaceful
- 46:24seeming. He stirs away at his pot. He
- 46:26very nicely will point out where things are at.
- 46:29He'll hand you whatever tools that you need to work on whatever
- 46:32it is he assigned. Um, two. What are you
- 46:35two up to? Or is there anything that you would like to ask or
- 46:38find out about?
- 46:39Um, I'm going to go sit amongst the
- 46:42bags of vegetables and stuff
- 46:44and just look at the people around me.
- 46:47Okay. Is there people down here with us.
- 46:50Or is it just there's at least one in the kitchen.
- 46:52Just the three of you? Yeah. Wow. Spent a long
- 46:55time looking around.
- 46:56You got to figure him out.
- 46:58Um, the Cookie does not make any kind of
- 47:01attempt to try to force you to do anything or try to
- 47:04give you work if you're not interested. Is there even a lot of
- 47:07work? He says a crew of nine, I feel.
- 47:09Yeah, I suppose not.
- 47:12He appreciates the help. And obviously you
- 47:15chopping up vegetables is one less thing that he has to focus on.
- 47:18Um, he actually seems a little bit excited to have people
- 47:21hanging out with him for the sole fact that you can talk to
- 47:23someone kind of he
- 47:26doesn't talk much. Uh, but maybe just having people
- 47:29there and then also the fact that when you
- 47:32have, like, a pot of something that you are making, usually you have
- 47:35to keep stirring or it might burn or whatever
- 47:38else stop stirring. Uh, right, exactly.
- 47:41Which he's like, oh, boy, I can make something good, um,
- 47:45chopping up the vegetables.
- 47:46Mika's going to be munching on a carrot.
- 47:49In my corner, contributing in the back.
- 47:51Is my fox dog in this bundle.
- 47:54Of supplies kind of hanging out in the food. He's also
- 47:57eating a carrot and he seems pretty open or your fox
- 47:59dog seems pretty open about it because Cookie has made
- 48:02no attempt to shoom away or anything.
- 48:05The fox dog? Oh, yeah. He looks
- 48:08over. Yeah. He kind of gives him like a little
- 48:11nod, like, oh, hello, little one. And then
- 48:14goes back to what he's doing. He seems like a really peaceful
- 48:16guy. So,
- 48:19Cookie, how long you been on this
- 48:22ship for? I have been on this ship
- 48:25for
- 48:28a couple of years. Okay.
- 48:31Time is but, uh, a
- 48:34breath of wind, um, it
- 48:37goes and it continues on.
- 48:41Where it leads, I follow like a leaf
- 48:44floating amidst that wind. So, are you an, uh,
- 48:46airbender? I am not an airbender,
- 48:49although I used to live amongst one of the airbending
- 48:52nations. Tribes, rather. Okay.
- 48:55How'd you get the tattoos then?
- 48:58Well, I was accepted amongst the tribe,
- 49:01even though I was not an airbender. I was one of the
- 49:03nomads, I was born to the tribe.
- 49:06Unfortunately, my tribe is gone.
- 49:10Have you, uh, ever flown, like an air
- 49:13glider? I have watched
- 49:16and I have been able
- 49:19to experience it, uh, alongside
- 49:21one of the more experienced
- 49:23airbenders who is powerful enough
- 49:26to allow me to passenger on his air
- 49:29glider. Yes, but I was
- 49:31not controlling it myself. Yeah, don't do
- 49:34that. I don't recommend it.
- 49:37Sure, but you probably would have known that.
- 49:40Indeed. I wouldn't try to do it on my own,
- 49:44Cookie. If you want me to call you
- 49:47Cookie. Sure. Or Genji. What's
- 49:50the genji. That, uh, was my original name.
- 49:53They just called me Cookie here. Like a
- 49:55nickname? Sure. What do you want me to call you?
- 49:58Whatever you prefer. A name is
- 50:01CG? Sure.
- 50:04Nice. CG. Cookie. Genji.
- 50:07Get it? Uh, clever like
- 50:10that. Um, what's the coolest thing
- 50:13about you? Like fun fact. Fun fact?
- 50:16Yeah, fun fact. Like me, I'm really good with a
- 50:18bow staff. That's my fun fact.
- 50:20He can bend sticks.
- 50:21I can bend sticks. And Mika over there, she is
- 50:24moody. So what's your fun fact?
- 50:27I would say that I
- 50:30am quite enduring.
- 50:33Enduring, indeed.
- 50:36Oh.
- 50:36I have endured many things in my life. How old are
- 50:39you? I am 74. Uh,
- 50:42yes, that would be enduring. Have you been the
- 50:45oldest guy that worked this ship?
- 50:48Um, as far as I have been
- 50:51here, yes. Although I am unaware
- 50:54of who had come before me. But maybe there
- 50:57were older that had been on this ship before. I am
- 51:00unsure.
- 51:04What about you? What about where do you
- 51:07come from? Uh, what's your name?
- 51:10My name is Bill. Nice to meet you, Bill. I'm from
- 51:13guelling. Oh, wonderful. Yes. Beautiful
- 51:16area. Yeah. A lot of trees.
- 51:20Uh,
- 51:25that's all you asked me. I'd like
- 51:28to use my
- 51:30bow staff. That's my fun fact.
- 51:34And like I said, that's Mika. Uh, nice to meet you,
- 51:36Mika.
- 51:38I just kind of wave at him.
- 51:40Where are you from, Mika?
- 51:44Um, not around here.
- 51:48I've done a bit of traveling.
- 51:50Oh, as have I. Very nice. Where have you
- 51:53traveled in?
- 51:58Um um, I recently just traveled from
- 52:00a tea shop.
- 52:02Oh, where was the tea shop? I do
- 52:05love tea. Is it good as in Gua
- 52:07ling? Oh, I've been to a wonderful
- 52:10tea shop in Gua ling. What was it called? It
- 52:13was called the Blissful Brew
- 52:15Sick. It was a few years ago. I
- 52:18have a good friend who worked there. Oh, do
- 52:21you,
- 52:25uh, know him? Yeah. Oh, wonderful.
- 52:28How is he?
- 52:30I kind of bury my face in the sacks
- 52:33of carrots and stuff.
- 52:35Yeah, I got some bad news.
- 52:39Pretend I'm taking a nap so he doesn't know I'm
- 52:41crying.
- 52:43You're crying? Start tearing up
- 52:46in the moment. I also stop,
- 52:50uh.
- 52:53Buried in the sack.
- 52:55You start crying, and everybody looks over at Bill,
- 52:58who's chopping up an onion.
- 53:05Just keep coming to the
- 53:07potatoes or something. Um,
- 53:10yeah, about Mr. Okon, uh, he kind of
- 53:14died, like, a, um, week
- 53:17ago. Oh, so recently.
- 53:20Yeah. That is grave news
- 53:22indeed. Yeah. He was a good
- 53:25man. Very charitable,
- 53:28very good at making tea, and very
- 53:31kind. How close were you to Mr. Oakroth? Uh,
- 53:34oh, I wouldn't say I was that close.
- 53:37I met him once in gaoling. We
- 53:40had tea together. We talked, discussed
- 53:43our lives, our experiences. He
- 53:46asked me many questions about tea that comes from the
- 53:49air temples. He was very interested in
- 53:52that. Uh, that's cool.
- 53:54Yes. And then I thanked
- 53:57him for a wonderful chat and the
- 54:00tea, and I headed on my way.
- 54:04That was, like, years ago. Indeed,
- 54:07it was. While I was finding
- 54:10myself you have a good memory. Thank
- 54:13you. So I've been through what I've been
- 54:15through. It's important to remember all
- 54:18things going forward, enduring. I
- 54:21got that. Indeed. Yeah, but
- 54:25you've been through a lot. Yes. And you were trying
- 54:28to find yourself. I was.
- 54:31But you have found yourself. I have
- 54:34found, on a pirate ship, a self,
- 54:37a place where a
- 54:40part of me is happy and can
- 54:43be fulfilled in what I do
- 54:46in the future. Maybe I find
- 54:49another part of myself that I want to
- 54:52follow and learn more about.
- 54:55Do you think that if you were like, I want
- 54:58to move on to the next chapter of my life, the captain
- 55:01would let you? Um,
- 55:05I'm not sure if he would let me,
- 55:08but I feel as though I
- 55:10could if I wanted to move on.
- 55:14Okay. This guy is very spiritual.
- 55:17Okay. Now you
- 55:20are sleeping. Uh, as a nomad,
- 55:23it's what I do. I feel as though I've learned
- 55:26much through my life to allow me to do it
- 55:29well. Cool.
- 55:33I, uh, really don't have really much else to add. Is
- 55:36the captain still having nightmares?
- 55:39Well, um, I think he
- 55:42does on occasion, but,
- 55:44uh, he says that he has some sort of
- 55:47drink that he has that helps him sleep
- 55:50through the night peacefully, and when he has
- 55:53access to it, he's able to, uh,
- 55:56do so. So he still has that
- 55:59drink? Oh, sure. You sound like you know
- 56:02of it. Well, yeah, Ogron invented it.
- 56:05This must have been before I was on the ship.
- 56:10Yeah, long ago. I remember captain
- 56:12Rockfoot. Sure. Came into the shop,
- 56:15wanted a cure,
- 56:18got a cure. Well, it definitely
- 56:21seems to work when he claims that he uses
- 56:24it. Well, that's good. Indeed.
- 56:26Indeed. Uh, you kind of remember a
- 56:29pirate with a rock foot. Sure.
- 56:32Now, to clarify, at the time, he did not have his rock foot
- 56:35when you met. Okay. I know. Just want to make sure
- 56:39he kind of leaves a mark both on
- 56:42you and on the floor. It is
- 56:45definitely something I have not seen elsewhere, and I
- 56:48am quite well traveled. Is he a powerful bender?
- 56:51I feel like you kind of have to be to always be
- 56:53bending the Earth to move
- 56:56with you. He's a fairly capable
- 56:58Earthbender. I'm not sure if I would say he's a
- 57:01master, as he spends a lot of time at sea where
- 57:04Earth is not accessible. Yeah. Uh, that's true. Does he
- 57:07have, like but does he.
- 57:08Still have a rock foot?
- 57:09He has a rock foot, yeah. Does he have, like, a
- 57:12stockpile of extra rocks in case if he accidentally
- 57:15falls in and loses?
- 57:17I believe he does keep a small pouch
- 57:20of, uh pouch? Yes, just a pouch.
- 57:23No emergency. Like a spindles
- 57:26bag sack? I'm not sure how
- 57:28large his sack is,
- 57:31but he keeps it in his quarters. His
- 57:34quarters? Oh, that makes sense. Yeah. And that way, at the end
- 57:37of the day, if he use his
- 57:40sack to fix himself
- 57:42up, it's available to
- 57:45him. Okay. As I've
- 57:48understood, I have never seen him
- 57:50using his sack before.
- 57:54Okay. In person,
- 57:57you're a bowl of emotion.
- 58:05Uh uh, obviously because she's crying
- 58:08on my acting skills. You're saying that behind
- 58:10me?
- 58:11Yeah.
- 58:13This is the first I've heard about you wanting to be an actor.
- 58:16You know, life's changed a lot.
- 58:19You feel like you should be talking to this?
- 58:21I'm just trying to figure out ebbs.
- 58:23And flows of life. We all have parts of
- 58:25ourselves we try to explore.
- 58:29M sugar?
- 58:34Uh. Thanks, Ghost Rider. Thank you, Mr.
- 58:36Ghost Rider. Ghost
- 58:39Rider has spoken.
- 58:40Kept it together.
- 58:43The last innuendo he said
- 58:46about it.
- 58:47He almost held it together, that whole thing.
- 58:50Well, I wasn't expecting the Ghostwriter to
- 58:52chime in. So anyways, uh,
- 58:56I think that's the most of what this conversation
- 58:58would yeah. You learned a little bit about
- 59:01Cookie. Um, I think he's
- 59:04happy to basically just let you share whatever
- 59:07you're willing to share. But like I said, he seems
- 59:10happy to just have people around. He seems to enjoy that,
- 59:13so people that aren't the rough and rowdy pirates,
- 59:16necessarily. All right, so
- 59:19with that, uh, you eventually finish your meal,
- 59:22you bring it upstairs, and, uh, the entire crew kind
- 59:25of collects around this big old
- 59:27pot of food that you guys have prepared. Um, and
- 59:30everybody kind of starts to spoon out bowls of
- 59:33this delicious stew, and you
- 59:36guys all are called over. The captain seems to allow you
- 59:39guys to eat with the crew. Um, so you're all sitting
- 59:42around on the various parts of the ship. Um, is
- 59:45there anybody in particular that anybody wants to go and talk
- 59:48to or, um, interact
- 59:51with outside of the people that you already had access
- 59:53to?
- 59:54Can I sit next to Bango?
- 59:56Sure. Honestly, it's far away from cal county.
- 59:59Okay, that's fine. All right, so you do
- 1:00:02that. Um, brock, you approach, um,
- 1:00:05bango. Last I saw him, I want to approach him.
- 1:00:08I want to try to approach him like we've been friends for
- 1:00:11years. So I just go, like, hey, how you doing
- 1:00:14there? I heard your name's, bango. My name is
- 1:00:17brock, and, uh, I just wanted to sit here. Is it okay if I
- 1:00:20sit next to you?
- 1:00:21What do you want with me, cabin boy?
- 1:00:24I want to be friends.
- 1:00:26I'm not looking to make any new friends.
- 1:00:29Well, then I can just sit here
- 1:00:32and eat, and then I'll get up and leave.
- 1:00:35But I'm chilling here. If you'd like to have
- 1:00:38a little conversation, little POW wow, little one on one,
- 1:00:41bro and bro, I won't stop.
- 1:00:43You from sitting here, but if you get on my
- 1:00:46nerves, I won't promise I won't
- 1:00:48punch you.
- 1:00:50I'm willing to take that risk.
- 1:00:52All right. Have a
- 1:00:54seat. He goes back to eating a
- 1:00:57stew. He does like the ungabunga grip where he
- 1:01:00holds the spoon. I don't even
- 1:01:03know how to describe that. Uh, you make a fist, and the spoon is coming
- 1:01:06out of, like, one side of the fist, and you just, like, jam it into
- 1:01:09the stew. And it's I like how
- 1:01:12you said that's all I know how it's called?
- 1:01:16Like a caveman. Not just straight drinking it?
- 1:01:18No, he's not straight drinking what is in the
- 1:01:21stew? What is the stew? Because I might be like, hey, you know what's
- 1:01:24good in there?
- 1:01:25Some cabbage. I know a guy
- 1:01:30do eat quite a bit of cabbage on this
- 1:01:32ship.
- 1:01:33I grew up on a cabbage farm not, uh, too far from here in the
- 1:01:36earth kingdom, so it might be some of ours.
- 1:01:38What kind of cost per crate can I expect
- 1:01:41from your cabbage dealer?
- 1:01:43I, uh, think we're like 20
- 1:01:46silver for a crate of I think about 100.
- 1:01:50That's not bad. Yeah. Where is this cabbage
- 1:01:53dealer?
- 1:01:54Uh, it was in Omashu. It's in the earth
- 1:01:56kingdom. Uh, I've heard you're the first mate. You
- 1:01:59might have, uh, some power to maybe veer the
- 1:02:02ship over that way if you want to get a good deal on some cabbage.
- 1:02:05We are not headed to Omashu currently.
- 1:02:08We are headed to you, dow, and there's no
- 1:02:11turning from that path. But
- 1:02:14I will put your dealer down,
- 1:02:17and I will talk to the quartermaster
- 1:02:20who can possibly put it on the list of
- 1:02:22possible connections that we could purchase from
- 1:02:25later.
- 1:02:26Uh, well, I'm the
- 1:02:28dealer. Yeah, it's me and my family's
- 1:02:31farm.
- 1:02:32Family's farm?
- 1:02:33Yeah, I grew up on the cabbage farm in Omashu. In
- 1:02:35Omashu?
- 1:02:36Yes, sir. What
- 1:02:39are you asking for?
- 1:02:40I'm not asking for anything. I can get you the
- 1:02:42deals, uh, if you're looking for them.
- 1:02:45Uh, but all I ask in return is your
- 1:02:48friendship.
- 1:02:48Are you planning on staying with the crew after
- 1:02:51you dow?
- 1:02:52If you guys want to give us a lift to the next place? Because we've got
- 1:02:55kind of an inkling we're going to have to go to another place afterwards.
- 1:02:58I think the plan is to take whatever treasure
- 1:03:01you've been promised and leave.
- 1:03:03Well, I'm pretty sure that
- 1:03:07see, here's the thing. I'm pretty sure
- 1:03:10because you saw what we had, right, with
- 1:03:13just the note. So
- 1:03:16we're guessing that the treasure we're going to
- 1:03:19find in you dao is just going to be another note
- 1:03:21that I don't think you guys are going to know how to
- 1:03:24decipher without us.
- 1:03:26If we get to you now and all
- 1:03:29we find is another note, I
- 1:03:31cannot promise you'll be
- 1:03:34returning anywhere.
- 1:03:36Now, why would you go and do that?
- 1:03:39I feel like there's some underlying issues.
- 1:03:41We need to address. I feel
- 1:03:44rock if
- 1:03:55ah,
- 1:04:00um.
- 1:04:11Me.
- 1:04:11If I was greatly disappointed.
- 1:04:13But you see, I would think that as a pirate, you would
- 1:04:16yearn for adventure just as children yearn for the
- 1:04:19mines. Because if we
- 1:04:22get this treasure in you dow
- 1:04:25and it's just another note, then we are just going on
- 1:04:28an adventure together as a team.
- 1:04:31So wouldn't you want an adventure to try
- 1:04:34and find the end of, uh,
- 1:04:37these sort of multiple clues, uh, that we're
- 1:04:40being given?
- 1:04:41You're saying that we get to you now
- 1:04:44and there is a note to another note
- 1:04:47to another note that allegedly eventually leads
- 1:04:50to treasure. You would
- 1:04:52expect for us to
- 1:04:55cater you around until we get to that
- 1:04:58eventual treasure?
- 1:04:59If you want to actually find the treasure, then
- 1:05:02yes, you're probably going to need us.
- 1:05:04Let me ask you this. You talk about
- 1:05:07expectations. Yes. What
- 1:05:09expectation do you
- 1:05:12have about what we're going to find at the
- 1:05:15end of this long adventure?
- 1:05:17Uh, if I remember right,
- 1:05:20uh, Bill.
- 1:05:21Is just shaking and nodding his head at you in
- 1:05:24a kind of direction.
- 1:05:27You see, we expect to
- 1:05:30find probably just teeth broken.
- 1:05:32Now, don't tell them that.
- 1:05:35So we expect to find
- 1:05:38dirty tea kitchen.
- 1:05:44Bill of just be like he's budding into the
- 1:05:46conversation.
- 1:05:47We're supposed to find this tea.
- 1:05:53Treasure.
- 1:05:58Treasure.
- 1:06:00The person we're finding it for is, uh, he has
- 1:06:03a bit of an impediment, you see. He calls it t resur.
- 1:06:06And we give a little hard time about it.
- 1:06:09Yeah.
- 1:06:09As I'm like, shoving my fist into
- 1:06:12Bill's mouth.
- 1:06:19But tell me, what kind of treasure
- 1:06:22are you expecting to find here in.
- 1:06:24Udao or at the end?
- 1:06:26Apparently at the end of this jam?
- 1:06:29Well, let's just say you're not going to want
- 1:06:32to throw it into a harbor. You don't want to throw
- 1:06:35it into a harbor because then it's going to sink.
- 1:06:37Right. But see, the
- 1:06:40treasure we'll find is rich beyond your
- 1:06:42imagination.
- 1:06:44Friends we make along the way. Shut up,
- 1:06:46Bill. You know what?
- 1:06:49Here's what I need to explain to you.
- 1:06:53Every journey we make on
- 1:06:56our boat costs us valuable
- 1:06:59resources. Um, treasure ah, from the previous
- 1:07:02thing that we spent in order to purchase
- 1:07:04food, in order to purchase water
- 1:07:07in order to keep the crew that's here
- 1:07:10with their will. For their will. How
- 1:07:13do you say that?
- 1:07:14Not against their will.
- 1:07:15Not against their will.
- 1:07:16On their own volition on the ship.
- 1:07:20The other ones we don't care about. They don't get paid.
- 1:07:23But the ones that do stay are getting
- 1:07:25paid. So that's a lot of resource
- 1:07:28being spent to make an expedition. And you're telling me
- 1:07:31we're going to make expedition after expedition after
- 1:07:34expedition and you won't tell me what treasure
- 1:07:37lies at the end of this multi
- 1:07:39expedition trip?
- 1:07:42Yes. He
- 1:07:44takes a moment and he thinks to himself
- 1:07:48what would they have to gain if
- 1:07:50they wouldn't tell me what treasure lies at the end of
- 1:07:53this? But they'll tell me there's treasure
- 1:07:56there. It seems kind of questionable, a little
- 1:07:59bit. Suss
- 1:08:04stands up and he says captain
- 1:08:06would like to have a word with you.
- 1:08:09T
- 1:08:10reserve
- 1:08:13baseball. Something sound like someone
- 1:08:16saying,
- 1:08:22I'm expecting that fully be on, like, the fourth note
- 1:08:25Mr. O'crown left is you're one step away from
- 1:08:28finding my tea treasure.
- 1:08:31Or it's like Tony the tiger.
- 1:08:34They're great treasures. You, uh,
- 1:08:37see him and the, uh, captain kind of move off to the side
- 1:08:40and they start kind of talking and it starts to get a little bit heated.
- 1:08:43They're kind of arguing with each other. The, uh, captain
- 1:08:46occasionally will shout, like well, we're already on our way, so what's
- 1:08:49the point in stopping now? And then he'll say, I don't
- 1:08:52think that there is much of a treasure for us to hide at the
- 1:08:55intervals. They seem pretty questionable. Plus,
- 1:08:58they're a bunch of kids. And, uh, as they argue,
- 1:09:01the rest of the crew, obviously, is kind of looking, uh, over
- 1:09:04at it and kind of surprised. Um, all of a
- 1:09:06sudden, uh, you
- 1:09:09hear another character somebody that you haven't met
- 1:09:12yet. He's a bit younger. Uh, you might have at least seen him,
- 1:09:15but you haven't talked to him or whatever the case. Um, he shouts
- 1:09:18out captain. Captain. I
- 1:09:21see it. It's here. And the captain immediately just
- 1:09:24freezes. And he turns his head and he says,
- 1:09:27you see what zazu? And
- 1:09:30he says, It's the
- 1:09:33beast. And everybody rushes over to the
- 1:09:36side of the ship, including yourselves, I assume, based off the
- 1:09:39fact that everybody rushes over there to look at something in
- 1:09:41the water. And sure enough, you rush over and you see
- 1:09:44a large scaled fin
- 1:09:47inside the water coming towards the boat in
- 1:09:50sort of like a zigzaggy like a smooth
- 1:09:53zigzaggy wiggly pattern. And, um,
- 1:09:56all of a sudden, it leaps
- 1:09:59from the waves and you see this massive,
- 1:10:02hulking gator shark fly
- 1:10:05through the air over the hole of the ship
- 1:10:07and back into the water on the other side. And the
- 1:10:10captain shouts out, it's, um, him. It's
- 1:10:13Kuma. Everybody to
- 1:10:16your stations. And with
- 1:10:19that, we're going to end this
- 1:10:21episode.
