- 0:25Speaker 1: make a great story later. And let's face it, you
- 0:29Speaker 1: don't laugh sometimes you're gonna cry. Join us in having
- 0:33Speaker 1: a good laugh together. I'm Monica Samuels. You are now
- 0:38Speaker 1: inside the Mom's Club, your private destination for all things mom. Welcome, Moms. Welcome, Moms,
- 0:50Speaker 1: Welcome to Inside the Mom's Club. I'm your host, Monica Samuels.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And today we have a really really fun show. I mean,
- 0:59Speaker 1: this is gonna be really fun. It's a it's a
- 1:02Speaker 1: trip down memory lane for some of us, it's very nostalgic,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and it's just you're gonna absolutely love it. Trust me
- 1:08Speaker 1: on that one. Now. The first thing, it's about collecting.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Believe it or not, it has something to do with collecting.
- 1:15Speaker 1: So for me personally, I am a huge collector. Like
- 1:18Speaker 1: over the course of my life, I have collected a
- 1:21Speaker 1: campaign buttons I had. I still have an alf land
- 1:25Speaker 1: and tie. Look him up if you don't know who
- 1:26Speaker 1: that is. It has kind of mothy and I don't
- 1:28Speaker 1: know how I ended up with that but I have that.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I'm a Disney pin collector. I'm a sucker for that.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I have coffee mugs from all over the world. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: can't wait for my children. Someday they're gonna fight over that.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I know later on when I'm no longer here. It's like,
- 1:41Speaker 1: you know, who's gonna get that mug from Yosemite. My
- 1:44Speaker 1: husband thinks I collect shoes and books, but and I
- 1:48Speaker 1: kind of do, actually, because you can only have so many.
- 1:50Speaker 1: But my biggest collection, my most prized possession, is I
- 1:54Speaker 1: am a huge old movie buff and my favorite actress
- 1:58Speaker 1: was Olivia to have and so I bid on this
- 2:02Speaker 1: vase that she had in her home in Paris, and
- 2:04Speaker 1: it is now in my house in Austin, Texas. And
- 2:07Speaker 1: whenever I have a guest come over or someone who's
- 2:10Speaker 1: gonna even get near it, I take them over and
- 2:13Speaker 1: I explained very nicely that what it is, and you know,
- 2:18Speaker 1: that's a warning to them that they'd better not have
- 2:20Speaker 1: anything happen to it. So because it means that much
- 2:23Speaker 1: to me. So I love collecting cool things, and we
- 2:28Speaker 1: have today with us a true collector. I mean, if
- 2:31Speaker 1: you want to talk about collecting, she is the ultimate collector.
- 2:34Speaker 1: She's an art collector and philanthropist, and she's getting a
- 2:37Speaker 1: lot of attention for purchasing the Brady Bunch House. Please
- 2:40Speaker 1: welcome Tina Treyhan. Welcome to the house line. So, Tina,
- 2:49Speaker 1: how do you buy the Brady Bunch House? How did
- 2:52Speaker 1: Howard you the owner now of the actual Brady Bunch House,
- 2:55Speaker 1: which you're you're there right now?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Actually, yes, I'm doing decided we should do the podcast
- 3:02Speaker 2: from here, or maybe you decided some whoever did it
- 3:04Speaker 2: was a great idea.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Oh that was our producer, but it was really my idea.
- 3:09Speaker 1: If you went on the trip, don't no, it was
- 3:12Speaker 1: a great idea and we're gonna love to see parts
- 3:14Speaker 1: of it, hopefully in a minute. So there was a renovation.
- 3:17Speaker 1: HGTV did a renovation, a very Brady renovation, I believe,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and they then decided to sell the house. Now, what
- 3:26Speaker 1: was really cool about their renovation is what we always
- 3:30Speaker 1: saw on the TV show was the exterior scene that
- 3:33Speaker 1: was the exterior was all that was ever seen really
- 3:35Speaker 1: on the show. The interior looked totally different. HGTV went
- 3:38Speaker 1: in there and they completely renovated the whole thing to
- 3:42Speaker 1: match what the sets on the show looked like, which
- 3:45Speaker 1: to me is like incredible. So then you they decided
- 3:48Speaker 1: they need to sell it and they put on the
- 3:50Speaker 1: market for five point five million. You you're also a
- 3:54Speaker 1: wheeler dealer, my dear. You got it for a three
- 3:56Speaker 1: point two million, and that's just incredible. So so what
- 4:01Speaker 1: inspired you to buy the Brady House? I mean, that's
- 4:03Speaker 1: a interesting it's funny.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Once I knew HGTV had done all the renovation to it,
- 4:12Speaker 2: I was just concerned something was going to happen to
- 4:15Speaker 2: the house that all the Brady fans would be upset about.
- 4:19Speaker 2: So I bought it just so I could control what
- 4:24Speaker 2: happens to this house. And I'm trying to get it
- 4:26Speaker 2: culturally landmarked. Also, mm hmm.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Oh that's great and it should. Isn't that the second
- 4:32Speaker 1: most photographed house in America after the White House? I
- 4:35Speaker 1: think I read that somewhere, you know.
- 4:38Speaker 2: What, And I will say that is a true story,
- 4:40Speaker 2: because every time I met the house, there's constantly one
- 4:45Speaker 2: after another cars pulling up taking photos. Oh yeah, every day,
- 4:50Speaker 2: So that's a true story for sure.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Well, what's the history Now the house is in Studio City,
- 4:55Speaker 1: what's the history of the actual house? Itself. Tell us
- 4:58Speaker 1: a little bit about that.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Well, the house was built I want to say nineteen
- 5:03Speaker 2: fifty nine, I think that's correct, and it was used
- 5:06Speaker 2: as the exterior shots of the show. And then the
- 5:10Speaker 2: woman who owned the house, I think she had it
- 5:12Speaker 2: for forty nine years, she passed away, so the house
- 5:17Speaker 2: was sold by her family and that's what was in
- 5:20Speaker 2: twenty eighteen when HGTV bought it. So the same woman
- 5:24Speaker 2: owned it for forty nine years, and at that point
- 5:27Speaker 2: it didn't look so much like the outside of the
- 5:28Speaker 2: house anymore. There was, you know, a stone little wall
- 5:32Speaker 2: that she had built up, and the colors weren't the same.
- 5:35Speaker 2: So when HGTV got a hold of it, they made
- 5:39Speaker 2: it completely like it was on the show.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And they added I understand, two thousand square feet and
- 5:45Speaker 1: made there wasn't really a second floor on the show.
- 5:47Speaker 1: There's a second floor, correct, And then they added all that, Yes.
- 5:51Speaker 2: They added it all right, now it's forty square feet.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Wow, that's a big house.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I did.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Now, could you add surely live in that house? You
- 6:02Speaker 1: don't live in that house? Right?
- 6:03Speaker 2: You are? No? No, I mean someone could. Although the
- 6:08Speaker 2: kitchen appliances are just decorative. The fridge. They got that
- 6:13Speaker 2: avocado fridge from the seventies or late sixties. They were
- 6:18Speaker 2: lucky to find it. It doesn't work, you know, nothing's
- 6:20Speaker 2: plugged in, nothing's connected. The water is connected in the
- 6:25Speaker 2: kitchen though, so you can run this thing.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So so someone like me you can't really cook and
- 6:30Speaker 1: has takeout all the time, could live there, but no
- 6:32Speaker 1: one else could really that wouldn't be a.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Exactly And plus the bathrooms aren't you know what we're
- 6:38Speaker 2: used to, you know, like nowadays we're used to like
- 6:41Speaker 2: the taking the shower head and you know, doing what
- 6:43Speaker 2: we want. You know, it's like a static. Everything is
- 6:47Speaker 2: exactly like out of the seventies. So we're so used
- 6:50Speaker 2: to modern conveniences that I don't think anyone would want
- 6:54Speaker 2: to live in the house.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so what when you purchased it? What was your
- 6:58Speaker 1: motivation for buying it? I mean, I know you said
- 7:01Speaker 1: you wouldn't to preserve it, but are you a big
- 7:04Speaker 1: Brady Man Bunch fan or.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Well, I like everyone you know that grew up when
- 7:11Speaker 2: I grew up in the eighties, after school, we would
- 7:15Speaker 2: watch the reruns and you know, we didn't really have
- 7:18Speaker 2: a choice. I think it was like maybe Bob Ross
- 7:20Speaker 2: is that the painter, And like Victory Garden, I think
- 7:22Speaker 2: there were three or four channels, so every kid my
- 7:25Speaker 2: age grew up watching it, and so I grew up
- 7:30Speaker 2: with it. I didn't watch the original time it air
- 7:33Speaker 2: when it was on on Friday nights from nineteen sixty
- 7:36Speaker 2: nine to nineteen seventy four. I only saw the reruns.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So I think we all just loved the Brady Bunch
- 7:43Speaker 2: and you know just what it represents in nostalgia. And
- 7:47Speaker 2: when I bought the house, I thought it would be
- 7:50Speaker 2: you know, I definitely knew I was going to donate
- 7:53Speaker 2: it to charities to use for a charity auction item.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I knew I would do that, and I knew.
- 7:59Speaker 4: That, you know, a friend of a friend might want
- 8:01Speaker 4: to come.
- 8:02Speaker 2: And they're coming to LA and Smartal text me and say, Hey,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I want to come see the house. I knew that
- 8:06Speaker 2: would happen a lot.
- 8:08Speaker 4: So I guess I just that's.
- 8:09Speaker 2: What I thought was going to happen, like charity events
- 8:12Speaker 2: or fundraising situations using the house as the winning bid.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a really cool idea. Now this isn't the
- 8:22Speaker 1: only house that you've in your collection, is it? I
- 8:25Speaker 1: mean you you have another house you've purchased for similar
- 8:29Speaker 1: thought process.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Well, right, I'm trying to really collect historic homes. The
- 8:36Speaker 2: only other house that's really significant that I've purchased that
- 8:42Speaker 2: anyone really would know about is a house called Stone Manor.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It's in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and that is about an
- 8:49Speaker 2: hour from O'Hare. So it's kind.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Of like a beach community for.
- 8:55Speaker 2: People that are in the Chicago area, like the Hamptons.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Would be cool. Well, I love history and historic preservation
- 9:03Speaker 1: and finding cool homes and things like that, so I
- 9:07Speaker 1: totally admire you and appreciate the fact that you're somebody
- 9:10Speaker 1: out there doing that. That is tremendous because a lot
- 9:12Speaker 1: of these places do get demolished.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Well, that house, you know, it's it was its own
- 9:20Speaker 2: challenge because it's forty eight thousand square feet and so
- 9:24Speaker 2: it was a it was a beast to try to
- 9:28Speaker 2: bring back to life, and you know, just getting all
- 9:30Speaker 2: new electrical like everything new and make it you know,
- 9:35Speaker 2: safe and current and updated and just fix everything was
- 9:40Speaker 2: it was a big undertaking, you know, and the person
- 9:43Speaker 2: that owned it in the seventies retrofitted and put an
- 9:46Speaker 2: in ground pool on the well not in ground, but
- 9:48Speaker 2: a pool on the roof, you know, like retrofitted on
- 9:52Speaker 2: the roof, and he.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Had a high dive and like what is going on?
- 9:57Speaker 2: So there was a lot to contend with there. So
- 10:00Speaker 2: it's it's it's I started, like it was eight years
- 10:04Speaker 2: ago when I'm still not done.
- 10:06Speaker 1: So so I guess we know that if Monticello ever
- 10:08Speaker 1: goes on the market, we know who a good who's
- 10:10Speaker 1: going to be bidding on it, and we know who
- 10:13Speaker 1: you'd be good. You know, you have some experience here
- 10:15Speaker 1: with those kind of kind of challenges. No, that's great.
- 10:19Speaker 1: So you're also a mom, yes, so how many how
- 10:22Speaker 1: many children do you have?
- 10:24Speaker 2: I have two and my daughter is eighteen and she
- 10:29Speaker 2: just started at university in Miami last year. So that's
- 10:33Speaker 2: been a fun challenge with her, dealing with the humidity
- 10:36Speaker 2: and the many bad hair days that were going on.
- 10:40Speaker 2: So that's that was tough in the beginning. You know,
- 10:44Speaker 2: when it's August in Miami, that's not a fun place
- 10:47Speaker 2: to be.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well, you know and with the Brady Bunch.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So you're talking about watching it in reruns as a
- 10:53Speaker 1: kid in the eighties, and I mean I was a
- 10:56Speaker 1: little earlier than that, but same kind of deal. I
- 10:58Speaker 1: saw it in reruns and sitting you know, watching eating
- 11:00Speaker 1: ding Dongs and having Doctor Pepper and every day you
- 11:02Speaker 1: watch The Brady Bunch. But is that still I mean,
- 11:05Speaker 1: with so many options out there, is it still in
- 11:08Speaker 1: syndication where kids like, did your kids do they still
- 11:12Speaker 1: see The Brady Bunch or have they.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Seen It's funny. I have a lot of friends that
- 11:16Speaker 2: raise their kids watching The Brady Bunch because it really
- 11:19Speaker 2: does have like good lessons and there's good, you know,
- 11:22Speaker 2: good values.
- 11:23Speaker 4: In the show. And nobody doesn't like it.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Everyone loves it. So my kids have seen it. They
- 11:29Speaker 2: had not heard of it though when I bought the house.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You know, they thought, you know, Tom Brady didn't live
- 11:36Speaker 2: in that house.
- 11:37Speaker 4: You know, they didn't.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Always stand you know, they didn't.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Understand and appreciate it at all. But then they were
- 11:45Speaker 2: watching at their episodes of The Simpsons and The Family,
- 11:49Speaker 2: Guy and Family. You know, there's so many shows that
- 11:55Speaker 2: they mentioned The Brady Bunch and so all of a
- 11:58Speaker 2: sudden it's like, oh, okay, that is cool.
- 12:01Speaker 4: You know my mom is cool.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Well, yeah, their mom is very cool. That is a
- 12:06Speaker 1: very cool. In fact, I know in terms of the
- 12:08Speaker 1: sales history of the house that at one point Miley
- 12:11Speaker 1: Cyrus was interested in it. Lance Bass even made a
- 12:15Speaker 1: bit on it and HDTV beat him in the end
- 12:18Speaker 1: for it, but he later went and visited and thought
- 12:21Speaker 1: they did a great job restoring it or recreating it. Really.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Danny Brown, who represented HGTV in the sale, told me
- 12:31Speaker 2: that when it sold in twenty eighteen that there were
- 12:34Speaker 2: ten people in a bidding war. I didn't realize there
- 12:37Speaker 2: were ten. Wow people, that's a big deal. Yeah, So
- 12:41Speaker 2: that was crazy.
- 12:42Speaker 4: I didn't realize it was that many.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I knew everyone knew about Lance Bass, but I you know,
- 12:46Speaker 2: that was well documented. I didn't know about Miley Cyrus,
- 12:50Speaker 2: and I didn't know there were ten people.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Totally.
- 12:52Speaker 2: That's a lot of people.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Wow. Well, you know, just even looking behind you, is
- 12:57Speaker 1: that the famous the famous stair case that's probably the
- 13:01Speaker 1: most famous part of Yeah, we can see it back
- 13:04Speaker 1: there for those on our YouTube channel can see it.
- 13:08Speaker 1: That is very that whole set, I mean, and it
- 13:11Speaker 1: was a set that it's just to see it now
- 13:14Speaker 1: as a real place that you can go, right.
- 13:18Speaker 2: And I've done a lot to it since I bought it.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I bought a bunch of Bentage bikes. I bought of
- 13:30Speaker 2: nineteen seventy one Plymouth Satellite station wagon. I got a
- 13:37Speaker 2: nineteen seventy one Plymouth Barracuda convertible and a nineteen seventy
- 13:42Speaker 2: three Caprice Classic convertible, and I had them wrapped the same.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Color as the show.
- 13:50Speaker 2: And the wagon is sitting out front of the house
- 13:52Speaker 2: and in the driveway the dark red convertible that Marsha
- 13:57Speaker 2: and Greg did their driving past. Oh my gosh, folks
- 14:01Speaker 2: without hitting the egg. So I've got an orange cone
- 14:05Speaker 2: in front.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Of the car with a egg on it.
- 14:07Speaker 1: That is so cool.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I mean to take pictures and they get excited about
- 14:12Speaker 2: that too.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly, people, I mean I you could have a
- 14:15Speaker 1: line out down the street of people wanting just to
- 14:17Speaker 1: tour it. I'm sure, because that's pretty cool. In fact,
- 14:20Speaker 1: you mentioned the station wagon. I was last night. I
- 14:22Speaker 1: was looking at old clips from the Brady Bunch getting
- 14:24Speaker 1: ready for this, and there they were all going camping
- 14:27Speaker 1: and getting in that station wagon. And yeah, so many
- 14:31Speaker 1: kids that one of them was shoved out the front
- 14:33Speaker 1: door and had to come back around to get back in. Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 1: So I mean that's pretty. That's that's really cool. Now
- 14:38Speaker 1: the horse at that horse, that horse statue, is that
- 14:42Speaker 1: still there? I mean that was always kind of something
- 14:45Speaker 1: that people recognized.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yes, it's still here. Can turn Yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Now is that something that you added or how did
- 14:53Speaker 1: that come.
- 14:54Speaker 2: In that I added the base that you know, don't
- 14:59Speaker 2: play ball in the house space? Oh wow, HGTV didn't
- 15:03Speaker 2: leave that.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Uh huh. So this is just like a museum piece too.
- 15:10Speaker 1: It's like it's a reflection of the seventies, I mean
- 15:13Speaker 1: the sixties and seventies, And that is so cool because
- 15:17Speaker 1: that part of history right now hasn't really been carefully represented.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And I think in part is because we kind of
- 15:23Speaker 1: were a little bit embarrassed about that part of history
- 15:25Speaker 1: in some ways, like the seventies, the clothes or you know,
- 15:28Speaker 1: just I think people felt a little bit uneasy about
- 15:30Speaker 1: that for a while. But now everybody's going back to it.
- 15:32Speaker 1: In fact, your daughter probably had to do some you know,
- 15:35Speaker 1: dress for the seventies or eighties or something for school,
- 15:38Speaker 1: just like we did the fifties when I was in school.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Absolutely, And another thing is when I look at the
- 15:45Speaker 2: episodes now, I love all of Carol's clothes and the
- 15:49Speaker 2: girls all dressed, They're adorable. All of their wardrobe on
- 15:53Speaker 2: that that show was impeccable.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah, absolutely, Well, you know we've for our show,
- 16:00Speaker 1: I'm proud to say we have personally met two of
- 16:03Speaker 1: the four Brady's or toward the six Bradys. We have
- 16:06Speaker 1: interviewed Susan Olsen, Cindy Brady, and last year we got
- 16:11Speaker 1: to meet Barry Williams, Greg Greg Brady at Dancing with
- 16:14Speaker 1: the Stars. So I've got four more Brady's to go.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But have any of them? I know they were there
- 16:20Speaker 1: and they helped even with the demolition for HDTV, they
- 16:23Speaker 1: were participated all that. Have you had any of them
- 16:25Speaker 1: come by and visit again or just or do you are?
- 16:28Speaker 1: Are you incorporating them at all into this whole vision?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yes, big time, I really am, and they have been here.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Christopher Knight, Christopher Knight, you signed the base.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, Christopher Knight, that was
- 16:45Speaker 1: my Brady crush. The other two are great.
- 16:48Speaker 2: But by the way, I didn't realize how many people
- 16:52Speaker 2: had a crush on Marcia and I did not realize
- 16:54Speaker 2: how many people had a crush on Peter. Oh.
- 16:58Speaker 5: But that out.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Now I'm finding out that a lot of that.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Yeah, count me on that list.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Susan Olsen was here as well.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And I had a silver platter made just like on
- 17:09Speaker 2: the show and all the names and braved and she
- 17:12Speaker 2: signed that.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Oh wow, so that is so cool.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Well see, and I handed up.
- 17:19Speaker 2: So Christopher Knight when he came, his wife Kara came
- 17:23Speaker 2: with and they are unbelievable. They're the greatest people in
- 17:29Speaker 2: the I mean seriously, they are the nicest, most amazing
- 17:33Speaker 2: people literally that I've ever heard.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Well, I would expect that because, like I said, well,
- 17:39Speaker 1: I love him. I don't know her, but I certainly
- 17:41Speaker 1: I think I just he's my studess.
- 17:45Speaker 2: And you know, also, so you met Barry did you
- 17:48Speaker 2: meet him at the Oh yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 1: No, he was really nice too, And I would say that,
- 17:52Speaker 1: you know, my childhood crushes came more aligned with what
- 17:55Speaker 1: my age kind of was around the time. So I
- 17:57Speaker 1: love Peter and but Greg he did feel to me
- 18:00Speaker 1: more like an older brother, so I didn't well, but
- 18:04Speaker 1: but he's super nice, right.
- 18:06Speaker 2: That's what I've heard. Did you know that, Peter and Peter? Sorry, Chris,
- 18:11Speaker 2: I think about the show. Chris and Barry have a
- 18:14Speaker 2: podcast called The Real Brady Bros. And a really good podcast,
- 18:20Speaker 2: you know when you want to hear about all things
- 18:22Speaker 2: Brady and just a lot of interesting things. I didn't
- 18:25Speaker 2: realize they had that podcast.
- 18:27Speaker 4: It's really good.
- 18:28Speaker 2: If you ever want to check it out. I love
- 18:30Speaker 2: it so And you know, one thing that I've really
- 18:33Speaker 2: been trying to do when you talk about like you know,
- 18:36Speaker 2: the horse, there are so many things I went back
- 18:41Speaker 2: and there's I've met a lot of huge Brady fans,
- 18:45Speaker 2: like major Brady fans, you know that that moderate fan
- 18:49Speaker 2: pages on Facebook and stuff like that. And they are
- 18:54Speaker 2: so they know the name of every episode. They know
- 18:58Speaker 2: like if you say and it was so number, they
- 19:00Speaker 2: know what it was it was about. There's so detail
- 19:04Speaker 2: oriented on things that most people wouldn't notice. And so
- 19:07Speaker 2: I've gotten I've gotten to know one girl, especially named Susie,
- 19:12Speaker 2: who's really helped me a lot curate things for the house.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Like for one thing, for example, HBATV did not get
- 19:21Speaker 2: for the show was this yellow Betozi ceramic cat that
- 19:26Speaker 2: was in every episode.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and it would.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Remember this, you do? I do remember that. I think
- 19:32Speaker 1: I've seen them all about five hundred times.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Okay, so they made they made one out of like
- 19:37Speaker 2: paper mache because they couldn't get the real cat. There
- 19:41Speaker 2: aren't a lot of them. But I found one in
- 19:44Speaker 2: the world and it was in Italy.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Nears right here.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Oh wow, Oh yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep wow.
- 19:51Speaker 2: So I got the cat. So I'm trying to get
- 19:53Speaker 2: all of the things in the house that were really
- 19:57Speaker 2: in the house during that time period. And there was
- 20:00Speaker 2: another thing. There was a sandstone base when you walk in,
- 20:04Speaker 2: like on the side by the closet when you walk
- 20:06Speaker 2: in in the front, and I found it in Paris
- 20:10Speaker 2: and it's right here. Do you remember this?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I do remember that. Uh huh.
- 20:15Speaker 2: So I'm getting all of these, you know, artifacts that
- 20:20Speaker 2: real Brady fans will remember and appreciate.
- 20:25Speaker 6: You know.
- 20:27Speaker 2: It's I've had a lot of fun doing it too.
- 20:29Speaker 1: That's that is so cool. I'm thinking about this. There's
- 20:33Speaker 1: there's certain shows that people are just huge fans of
- 20:35Speaker 1: and then it becomes like a it's it's a bigger
- 20:37Speaker 1: it's bigger than the show ever. So the Brady Bunch
- 20:40Speaker 1: is one of them. The Golden Girls. You said your
- 20:42Speaker 1: child's at school in Miami. You might go find that
- 20:44Speaker 1: house and see if there were Maybe.
- 20:46Speaker 2: It's in Brentwood. Huh isn't that in Brentwood?
- 20:50Speaker 1: Oh?
- 20:50Speaker 6: Is it?
- 20:51Speaker 1: Oh? Is it? Was it really in Brentwood? Well there
- 20:53Speaker 1: you go. That's not right, that's not right. But that
- 20:56Speaker 1: makes sense, that makes total sense. Well by that one,
- 20:58Speaker 1: But you know what there but the fans of that show,
- 21:01Speaker 1: same kind of deal. You see these people talking about,
- 21:04Speaker 1: oh well she had you know, there was this in
- 21:06Speaker 1: the Luni and all that. There are just certain houses
- 21:08Speaker 1: and certain shows that there's that attachment to, just like
- 21:13Speaker 1: a competitor of the Brady Bunch, the Partridge family, their bus,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I mean, there's you wouldn't remember what their house looked like,
- 21:20Speaker 1: but that bus was pretty iconic.
- 21:21Speaker 4: So wait, now this Golden Girls thing is bothering me.
- 21:24Speaker 4: What's the house in Breadwa mean?
- 21:26Speaker 1: I don't know. Well, we'll find out, you know, Tina,
- 21:28Speaker 1: you and I will chat later. We'll see if we
- 21:30Speaker 1: can figure this out, because I think, you know what, I.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Was disappointed to find out that the Fresh Prince of
- 21:35Speaker 2: bel Air house was not in bel Air. Like that
- 21:38Speaker 2: was not cool. I thought it's at least be in Belair.
- 21:40Speaker 2: That one is in Breadwood, but you can't really see
- 21:43Speaker 2: it because you know, there's like a big driveway gate
- 21:46Speaker 2: and a lot of you know, fight iss so you
- 21:48Speaker 2: can't really see it.
- 21:49Speaker 1: But oh, it's actually we have we've confirmed Miami.
- 21:54Speaker 2: The house is in Miami.
- 21:56Speaker 1: You know, we just we just googled and confirmed because
- 21:59Speaker 1: we all know Google knows everything. It is in Brentwood.
- 22:02Speaker 2: What.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't. I shouldn't brought it up. It's very
- 22:05Speaker 1: disappointing and you don't like forget.
- 22:06Speaker 4: That, like thinking like that doesn't make sense.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that doesn't that doesn't Yeah, well even mentioned the
- 22:14Speaker 1: Fresh Prince. Now the Home Alone House I think is
- 22:17Speaker 1: in Illinois, but I'm not sure. But I'm just my
- 22:20Speaker 1: point being, you could start a thing were you. You know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: since you're collecting these houses, you could be the woman
- 22:25Speaker 1: that collects the iconic houses of television.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Can we talk about the house for a second. The
- 22:31Speaker 2: owners of the Home Alone House reached out to me
- 22:33Speaker 2: last November and asked if I wanted to buy the house. Oh,
- 22:36Speaker 2: so I flew there. It's in Illinois. I was born
- 22:40Speaker 2: in Illinois, so I was like, okay, So I flew
- 22:43Speaker 2: there and I went to see the house.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Like.
- 22:45Speaker 2: It was like maybe the first week of December last year,
- 22:48Speaker 2: and I had never seen the movie. You know, I
- 22:52Speaker 2: lived in New York for fifteen years. I saw but
- 22:54Speaker 2: Lost in New York one. Neither of my kids had
- 22:56Speaker 2: seen the movie either. So I'm at this house looking around,
- 23:00Speaker 2: and you know, they're making references, so, oh, remember this part,
- 23:04Speaker 2: you know, this window where he slid down the stairs
- 23:05Speaker 2: or whatever, and I had no frame of reference, you know.
- 23:09Speaker 2: But then they're like, well, your homework assignment is to
- 23:12Speaker 2: watch movie. So like three weeks later, I finally watched
- 23:14Speaker 2: the movie.
- 23:15Speaker 4: It was a cute movie.
- 23:15Speaker 2: By the way. The house had nothing to.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Do with the movie.
- 23:21Speaker 2: It was a beautiful home, Don't get me wrong. It
- 23:23Speaker 2: was you know, it was like it was built yesterday.
- 23:26Speaker 2: They're every like the kitchen was modern, and you know,
- 23:30Speaker 2: everything was just very well, I wouldn't say modern, you know,
- 23:33Speaker 2: but it everything was new and nothing looked like the house.
- 23:39Speaker 2: So I thought, you know, I don't know what I
- 23:42Speaker 2: would do with this, because you know, I just didn't
- 23:45Speaker 2: even know what to do with it if I could
- 23:47Speaker 2: do anything. And then it turned out that when Netka,
- 23:50Speaker 2: the town it's in, they're very strict about even events
- 23:54Speaker 2: like you. I mean, I'm not I yeah, I mean
- 23:58Speaker 2: I wouldn't airbn be it, but but you can't even
- 24:01Speaker 2: like have events and stuff. They're very but if someone
- 24:04Speaker 2: were to buy it and try air BNPA, they couldn't.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Not that I would do that anyway, but I just
- 24:09Speaker 2: didn't know what I would do with it. So I
- 24:10Speaker 2: did not end up buying it. And then they put
- 24:12Speaker 2: it on the market I think a month ago, and
- 24:14Speaker 2: it sold. So but yeah, they they reached out to me.
- 24:17Speaker 2: And it's funny that you mentioned the home alone house
- 24:20Speaker 2: and then what is the other one? Full house just
- 24:22Speaker 2: went on the market.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well I never saw that show.
- 24:26Speaker 2: And the inside is beautiful.
- 24:28Speaker 1: There's there's a lot of them. Well let me I'm
- 24:30Speaker 1: gonna run through. I'm gonna run through with you. I
- 24:33Speaker 1: have a quick survey for you, because as the owner
- 24:35Speaker 1: of the Brady Bunch House, you probably are gonna be
- 24:37Speaker 1: asked a lot of these questions. So I'm gonna give
- 24:39Speaker 1: you quotes from the show and you tell me which
- 24:42Speaker 1: character said it. Okay, now do you know, it's not
- 24:45Speaker 1: a tough test and if you forget, don't worry. So
- 24:47Speaker 1: one of them, So the first one is you ask
- 24:50Speaker 1: a foolish question, you get a foolish answer. Who said that?
- 24:56Speaker 2: I don't know that.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, like, oh, it was Alice because she
- 25:02Speaker 1: was so she was so wise. Oh my nose, Oh
- 25:07Speaker 1: my nose. Marsha Marsha absolutely, Oh you're gonna like this one.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I am a little sunflower Sonny, brave and true from
- 25:17Speaker 1: tiny bud to blossom. I do good deeds for you.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna guess, Cindy.
- 25:22Speaker 1: No, that was Peter, remember when he had to be
- 25:24Speaker 1: a sunflower girl. Mm hmm, okay, no, no, no, no, well
- 25:30Speaker 1: you'll see, I'm just kidding. I'm just you know this.
- 25:32Speaker 1: You can study up later. This is my last one,
- 25:34Speaker 1: and then we're gonna meet some lovely ladies who have
- 25:36Speaker 1: a lot of questions for you. This one actually affected
- 25:39Speaker 1: my own family because my sister is so a big
- 25:41Speaker 1: thing with her well, all day long at school, I
- 25:43Speaker 1: hear how great Marsha is at this, or how wonderful Marcia.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Isn't that Marsha Marsha Marsha yeah, Jan absolutely, yes. I
- 25:51Speaker 1: think you got a very good passing grade. Good job, Tina,
- 25:55Speaker 1: good job, and you're doing such a great service to
- 25:58Speaker 1: all of his Brady fans out there, which I love well.
- 26:00Speaker 1: We have with us ladies who would love to ask
- 26:03Speaker 1: you more questions. They are our zoomer moms, So welcome
- 26:05Speaker 1: zoomer moms. Welcome to the Mom's bluff. Okay, ladies, I'm
- 26:14Speaker 1: just going to introduce each one of you. Tell us
- 26:16Speaker 1: a little bit about yourself, and do you have a
- 26:18Speaker 1: question for Tina? First of all, Gala welcome.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Hi.
- 26:22Speaker 2: How are you? A lot of questions?
- 26:25Speaker 3: I want to ask you beauty tips, but that's not
- 26:27Speaker 3: what we're here for. You're gorgeous, and congratulations on getting
- 26:30Speaker 3: the house. I just wanted to ask you because you
- 26:33Speaker 3: can tell you're very passionate. I mean that you're in
- 26:36Speaker 3: your zone. This is your passion. You get very excited
- 26:38Speaker 3: about it. What made you want to start collecting these
- 26:41Speaker 3: houses and all the artifacts?
- 26:45Speaker 1: You know?
- 26:45Speaker 2: I have a little bit of a problem when I
- 26:49Speaker 2: love something and I'm just like I have to have it,
- 26:52Speaker 2: I have it right now, and then sometimes I think
- 26:54Speaker 2: why did I buy this?
- 26:55Speaker 7: You know?
- 26:57Speaker 2: So it's just bothly, I would say, impulse purchases, not
- 27:04Speaker 2: always knowing what but just wanting to have it, just
- 27:09Speaker 2: wanting to have it. I guess, you know, wanting to
- 27:11Speaker 2: make sure nothing else happens to it, and you know
- 27:15Speaker 2: I can preserve it.
- 27:17Speaker 3: I love what you said. Uh, I want to make
- 27:19Speaker 3: sure I had control over it. So I just bought
- 27:21Speaker 3: it and I was like, oh, that made me giggle.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Control it right, if you have, if you're if you
- 27:27Speaker 1: like impulse purchases. I know Gala is a flight attendant,
- 27:30Speaker 1: So do you have a plane that you might be available.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I'm an impulse shopper myself too, Tina, trust me, I
- 27:37Speaker 1: know exactly what that's like. I have an even pulse
- 27:39Speaker 1: shopped impulse potter House shed. But that's coming. She's with
- 27:45Speaker 1: Southwest Airlines, which is the great airlines. Doesn't getting me home?
- 27:48Speaker 1: I hope today. In fact, I'm planning on. Kim, welcome
- 27:52Speaker 1: to the Mom's Club. Tell us a little about yourself,
- 27:54Speaker 1: and do you have a question for Tina.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 27:58Speaker 1: My name is Kim Coley.
- 27:59Speaker 5: I am the mother of two sons, and I am
- 28:04Speaker 5: a volunteer firefighter and a North Carolina first responder.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Amazing we have we have an exciting development here on
- 28:13Speaker 1: the show. We have a special surprise guest, Tony. Can
- 28:17Speaker 1: you introduce who's our can bring in our surprise guest.

- 28:29Speaker 1: giving in the wire. Oh my god, welcome Christopher. Wow.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I am I can't even I'm so I'm gonna have
- 28:38Speaker 1: to fan myself here. I am your I'm one of
- 28:40Speaker 1: your biggest fans. And I know you hear that all
- 28:42Speaker 1: the time, so don't believe those other people that told
- 28:45Speaker 1: you they look I am.
- 28:47Speaker 6: If I'm in the room with Barry, you know, he
- 28:49Speaker 6: insists that they're his biggest fans. But luckily he's not
- 28:54Speaker 6: around right now, so I can be the biggest. He
- 28:55Speaker 6: can be my biggest fan.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 28:58Speaker 6: I appreciate the love and uh, the enduring love because
- 29:01Speaker 6: it's been a while.

- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Tina, do you have a few words for
- 29:38Speaker 1: Christopher here?
- 29:40Speaker 2: Do I?
- 29:41Speaker 1: Yeah, anything you want to share with him about what
- 29:44Speaker 1: you've been sharing today.
- 29:45Speaker 2: This is the best surprise ever. I mean, I mean,
- 29:48Speaker 2: this is everyone's dream is to get Christopher Knight on
- 29:52Speaker 2: the phone. So you made a lot.

- 29:56Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, Christopher. This has been my biggest dream.

- 30:07Speaker 6: You'll have to thank Lourie Muslow is an old friend
- 30:10Speaker 6: of Muse, so she had called me yesterday. I had
- 30:16Speaker 6: no idea when calling back today that it would be
- 30:20Speaker 6: that I'd be speaking on a podcast. But I'm very
- 30:25Speaker 6: pleased to what is the podcast today about.
- 30:28Speaker 1: It's called Inside the Mind's Club, and it's it's moms.
- 30:31Speaker 1: It's women all over America. And trust me, you there's
- 30:34Speaker 1: lots of your fans are out there are going to
- 30:36Speaker 1: hear this.
- 30:39Speaker 6: So I am glad that you've invited me in to
- 30:44Speaker 6: the mom's Club.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you're welcome. So very privileged anytime. Thank you so much,
- 30:50Speaker 1: Christopher for joining us, Thank you, thanks for calling by.
- 30:54Speaker 6: You'll hie my goye.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Okay, thank you, thank you. That was amazing. That was amazing,
- 31:03Speaker 1: as we say here on the Mom's Lub, that was
- 31:05Speaker 1: so fair. Yeah, that's so fabulous. I can hardly go on,
- 31:07Speaker 1: but we have to go on. So we're going to
- 31:09Speaker 1: return to I'm going to welcome in Kim again and
- 31:12Speaker 1: you can ask your question. Sorry to interrupt you there, Kim,
- 31:14Speaker 1: but here we go. Okay, are we ready, Tony, I'm like, okay, Kim,
- 31:20Speaker 1: welcome to the Mom's Club. Do you have a question
- 31:22Speaker 1: for Tina?
- 31:24Speaker 2: I don't.
- 31:25Speaker 9: I want to make a comment saying thank you, because
- 31:28Speaker 9: I'm not one to collect items, and yet I would
- 31:32Speaker 9: miss the nostalgic opportunity to share with.
- 31:35Speaker 5: My kids if some if people like you all didn't
- 31:38Speaker 5: collect things and be willing to share them with us.
- 31:41Speaker 5: So I'm just so grateful. I don't remember the cat
- 31:45Speaker 5: and I watched every.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Episode you're now you're going to notice it now, and
- 31:50Speaker 4: I'm so grateful, So thank you.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Well, thank you for that comment. And can I tell
- 31:56Speaker 2: you something else? One thing that I really have been
- 31:59Speaker 2: trying to figure out. It's hiding on a year and
- 32:02Speaker 2: out I've had the house.
- 32:03Speaker 4: I haven't figured it out yet.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I really want to find a way to get the
- 32:07Speaker 2: fans into the house, and that's the thing that's been
- 32:11Speaker 2: a little challenging because I don't know how to do it.
- 32:14Speaker 2: And also I really want to get the cast members
- 32:17Speaker 2: of the show all too, where the cast members can
- 32:21Speaker 2: be at the house and meet fans because they're just
- 32:23Speaker 2: so many fans. And yeah, so I'm working on that too,
- 32:27Speaker 2: because the experience is unbelievable. People walk in the house,
- 32:31Speaker 2: it's like they walked into their childhood.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I have an idea. I can only imagine a Mom's
- 32:36Speaker 1: Club event at the Brady Bunch House, I mean you
- 32:40Speaker 1: and talk about getting some fans in there. You would
- 32:42Speaker 1: have Nope, it would be probably standing room only. Everywhere
- 32:45Speaker 1: the house would be filled.
- 32:46Speaker 2: I need to do. That's what my big thing that
- 32:49Speaker 2: I'm really trying to do.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And yeah, so let's talk about that after the show. Monroe,
- 32:55Speaker 1: welcome to the Mom's Club. Do you have a question
- 32:58Speaker 1: for Tina?
- 32:59Speaker 7: Good afternoon and currngratulations on your purchase. You talking to
- 33:04Speaker 7: the all things Brady fan. I don't think anybody watched
- 33:10Speaker 7: more episodes of The Brady Bunch than I did.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Hi.
- 33:13Speaker 7: I'm Monroe Brown and I'm a native of Treeport. I
- 33:16Speaker 7: ran into Laurie here in Treeport and she invited me
- 33:21Speaker 7: on the show. Of course, I'm a business consultant and
- 33:25Speaker 7: I specialize in brand development. And I have a big
- 33:29Speaker 7: question for you. What are your plans for the Brady
- 33:32Speaker 7: Bunch House and how can I help in implementing that plan.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Well, I do have some really exciting things planned in
- 33:42Speaker 2: the fall. For the fifty fifth anniversary of the show,
- 33:46Speaker 2: which is September twenty sixth, I have some really exciting
- 33:50Speaker 2: announcements that are I'm going to I really wanted, like
- 33:54Speaker 2: I said, I really want to get the cast together,
- 33:58Speaker 2: and I want to get you know, fans in the
- 34:00Speaker 2: house with the cast. So my plans for the house
- 34:04Speaker 2: right now. So I just started in fact a website.
- 34:09Speaker 2: It's called the Brady Experience dot com.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Oh wow.
- 34:14Speaker 2: And then you can become a member and you will
- 34:18Speaker 2: have exclusive invitations to the house to meet cast members
- 34:24Speaker 2: just for the whole experience. It's very limited though, the membership,
- 34:28Speaker 2: because you know, I can only there's only one house
- 34:31Speaker 2: and so many days in the year to get people
- 34:33Speaker 2: in it. But that's the way right now that I
- 34:37Speaker 2: plan to get people into the house and meet meeting
- 34:40Speaker 2: cast members. So that's my plan right now. I have
- 34:43Speaker 2: bigger plans. I can't hurt believe.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's that's.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Beyond that website.
- 34:50Speaker 1: That's a great idea.
- 34:53Speaker 7: That is at That is a great idea, And I'd
- 34:56Speaker 7: love to connect with you on camera. Hopefully we'll collect
- 34:59Speaker 7: dater Cone later and have an awesome afternoon and congratulation.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Wow, that's awesome.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Freeport, Louisiana.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Don't She's in Tredeport. Yeah, you know. And that's the
- 35:11Speaker 1: great thing about the Mom's Club is we just connect
- 35:13Speaker 1: all these amazing, amazing women together. So that's that's so
- 35:17Speaker 1: we'll definitely get you all connected. Jen, Welcome to the
- 35:20Speaker 1: Mom's Club. Tell us a little bit about yourself and
- 35:23Speaker 1: do you have a question.
- 35:24Speaker 10: I am a mom of five boys and I remodel houses,
- 35:28Speaker 10: and I was wondering is everything done in the house
- 35:31Speaker 10: or do you have plans to do more remodeling and
- 35:34Speaker 10: what kind of projects are you going to work on
- 35:36Speaker 10: in that house? Because I'm I always I love preserving
- 35:40Speaker 10: things like that and doing projects. I'm a project person,
- 35:46Speaker 10: and so you're talking about interior stuff, but like structural
- 35:52Speaker 10: or design stuff. Are you going to do anything different
- 35:54Speaker 10: or is it exactly like you want it?
- 35:57Speaker 2: That's a great question. If I do anything, then it
- 36:02Speaker 2: would it would end up being changing for NYCTV kid.
- 36:06Speaker 2: So for that reason, I'm not doing anything to change things.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I have repainted the entire house with the same colors
- 36:12Speaker 2: they use, and I've done a lot of a lot
- 36:15Speaker 2: of like finished work that HGTV wanted it to look.
- 36:19Speaker 2: You know, it's okay for camera, but for real life
- 36:22Speaker 2: in person, just needed some fine tuning. I did a
- 36:25Speaker 2: lot of that, where like the base molding would come
- 36:29Speaker 2: like four inches short of the end of the wall.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Things like that I've had fixed. But as far as
- 36:37Speaker 2: the outside of the house, the exterior, the interior, I'm
- 36:40Speaker 2: not doing anything to change anything. It's all just preserving
- 36:46Speaker 2: what's here already.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Jennifer and I know Jennifer and Genery models. Jennifer is
- 36:53Speaker 1: an architect. Jennifer, do you have a question. I do.
- 36:58Speaker 8: Actually, First, I just want to say I am so
- 37:00Speaker 8: grateful for you.
- 37:01Speaker 4: If I could come through the screen and hug you.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I would.
- 37:04Speaker 8: I mean, I know, I know how much work and
- 37:10Speaker 8: like heart and soul you've put into this house. And
- 37:12Speaker 8: I read about what you've done in Wisconsin as well,
- 37:15Speaker 8: and that is quite an undertaking, I know. I mean
- 37:19Speaker 8: the ability to sort of stick with the project and
- 37:23Speaker 8: pay attention to the details, it makes all the difference.
- 37:26Speaker 4: And I know.
- 37:27Speaker 8: That people are going to be so grateful once they
- 37:29Speaker 8: have a chance to see it, even if they're only
- 37:31Speaker 8: able to see it through a TV show or I mean,
- 37:34Speaker 8: I watched the renovation of the Brady House with the
- 37:37Speaker 8: Brady cast and to see all the time energy they
- 37:40Speaker 8: put into recreating the horse, you know, custom printing the wallpaper,
- 37:45Speaker 8: it was all and it brought us all back together
- 37:48Speaker 8: as a family because like the Brady's were our neighbors,
- 37:51Speaker 8: like I remember them like they lived down the street,
- 37:53Speaker 8: and so it was really it's been so heartwarming and
- 37:56Speaker 8: like good for the soul what you've done, and it's
- 37:59Speaker 8: so I just want to say so grateful for you,
- 38:02Speaker 8: and well, you know what, I.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Really want you to end up coming inside the house
- 38:08Speaker 2: because it's such a I can't describe it. It's just wild.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Like one woman one of the super fans asked if
- 38:17Speaker 2: she can bring some people that were super fans over,
- 38:20Speaker 2: and she had some friends over and one of them
- 38:22Speaker 2: walked in and just started crying because she was so
- 38:26Speaker 2: you know, She's like, oh my gosh, this is she
- 38:28Speaker 2: was so happy, you know. So it's just it's such
- 38:31Speaker 2: a I just want to share that with people. So
- 38:34Speaker 2: that is my real goal here, and I need to
- 38:38Speaker 2: find a way to do it, so, you know.
- 38:40Speaker 7: Because.
- 38:42Speaker 8: I can tell that you are good at moving mountains,
- 38:45Speaker 8: so I know you'll find a way. Because it's no
- 38:48Speaker 8: small undertaking to take this on and maintain it and
- 38:53Speaker 8: then also expand on all that they've done already, you know,
- 38:56Speaker 8: just like the the egg on the cone.
- 38:59Speaker 4: I mean, are you kidding me?
- 39:00Speaker 10: That's amazing.
- 39:02Speaker 4: So and you know I would.
- 39:04Speaker 8: I My father has a how he bought the pharmacy
- 39:08Speaker 8: he grew up in in his little town in upstate
- 39:10Speaker 8: New York, and he's preserving it. And so people can
- 39:13Speaker 8: do what you're doing these sort of house museums, or
- 39:16Speaker 8: you know, invest in significant architecture when they have the
- 39:20Speaker 8: ability to do it, or just be the people who
- 39:23Speaker 8: support you and saying thank you for doing that. We
- 39:26Speaker 8: as a town care about it and we're gonna, you know,
- 39:29Speaker 8: support the designation of this building as a landmark. Like
- 39:33Speaker 8: so you don't have to be the person who can
- 39:35Speaker 8: buy it. You can just be the person who is
- 39:37Speaker 8: a supporter of the effort. And so I just want
- 39:40Speaker 8: to say thank you for every everything you're doing. Do
- 39:43Speaker 8: you have your your If there's one thing out there
- 39:46Speaker 8: that was on the market that you could scoop up,
- 39:48Speaker 8: what would it be?
- 39:51Speaker 3: Oh?
- 39:51Speaker 2: Wow, that's a tough one. Well, I know there was
- 39:54Speaker 2: a big to do about Maryland Bow's house over into Yeah. Yeah,
- 40:00Speaker 2: but I know there was a big deal about that
- 40:02Speaker 2: and they just got it from you know, kept it
- 40:05Speaker 2: for being torn down. So I guess any any house
- 40:09Speaker 2: or structure that is in you know, peril of being
- 40:14Speaker 2: demolished is one that I would want. So, but that
- 40:17Speaker 2: doesn't really answer your question. I mean, one house I
- 40:21Speaker 2: really want is the Bob Hope House, that John Latner
- 40:25Speaker 2: house in Palmer's r Wow. I think Ron Burkle owns
- 40:29Speaker 2: it right now, But that is one house I would
- 40:32Speaker 2: love to have. That is my goal. I mean, it's beautiful,
- 40:36Speaker 2: it's old.
- 40:38Speaker 1: That's what I would love that tons that would be
- 40:41Speaker 1: amazing Misty, welcome to the Mom's Club. Tell us a
- 40:46Speaker 1: little bit about yourself and you have a question.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I do.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Thanks so much for having me on.
- 40:51Speaker 11: I am a mom of a blended family of seven children,
- 40:55Speaker 11: so you can pray for me. I well, I wanted
- 40:59Speaker 11: to say, I ow so appreciate that you're preserving. I'm
- 41:01Speaker 11: a huge fan of the homes in Newport and so
- 41:04Speaker 11: sad to see that a lot of them were demolished.
- 41:07Speaker 11: I just appreciate retaining the character that we used to
- 41:10Speaker 11: put into building a structure a home. And my question
- 41:14Speaker 11: now is revolving into a suggestion. A lot of the
- 41:18Speaker 11: I've seen historical landmarks are doing like virtual walkthroughs, So
- 41:23Speaker 11: we now have the virtual headsets where we can actually
- 41:26Speaker 11: be present and walk through. The museums are now doing
- 41:30Speaker 11: it where you can go through a museum and actually
- 41:32Speaker 11: see the piece.
- 41:34Speaker 4: You know you want to preserve the home.
- 41:36Speaker 11: It's small having a ton of people to walk through,
- 41:38Speaker 11: although I'd love to come through it would be great.
- 41:40Speaker 11: But just to be able to put on a VR
- 41:42Speaker 11: headset and walk through the home and see the characters
- 41:46Speaker 11: and the home today.
- 41:47Speaker 2: That would be amazing.
- 41:48Speaker 4: I would love to see that.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yes, someone mentioned that to me recently. I feel like
- 41:53Speaker 2: it was in the last week that someone mentioned, like
- 41:56Speaker 2: we're talking about how in a museum you can put
- 41:59Speaker 2: on I said, and you know, do like virtual We
- 42:03Speaker 2: talked about that same thing, So that is not outside
- 42:07Speaker 2: of the realm of possibility.
- 42:09Speaker 4: That would be great.
- 42:10Speaker 2: It would be great. It would be great, And you know,
- 42:14Speaker 2: I just being here though, it's so crazy, and I
- 42:19Speaker 2: just wish there were enough, you know, there was a
- 42:21Speaker 2: way to do that. However, I like your idea and
- 42:24Speaker 2: it's a great idea and it makes a lot of sense,
- 42:27Speaker 2: especially for people who live far away and you know,
- 42:31Speaker 2: can't make it out to LA. That's a great idea.
- 42:34Speaker 1: That is That is a great There's so many opportunities
- 42:37Speaker 1: with this that are so cool. I mean, I done.
- 42:41Speaker 1: I would love to do what you're doing.
- 42:43Speaker 2: I haven't done any of them. All I've done is
- 42:45Speaker 2: you know, there's been charity tours, and I feel like
- 42:49Speaker 2: I'm being really selfish not sharing this house. So that's
- 42:53Speaker 2: you know, I'm working on it.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Well as a Brady fan, I'll be happy to share
- 42:57Speaker 1: it with you and come over and just hang out
- 42:59Speaker 1: a little bit. Well, thank you so much, Tina. This
- 43:02Speaker 1: has been tremendous and this has been amazing. So you
- 43:06Speaker 1: said we can all look for is it the Brady
- 43:08Speaker 1: Experience dot com? Is that would you or where do
- 43:11Speaker 1: we find more information on this?
- 43:13Speaker 2: Well, so it's just like the website's just going up now,
- 43:17Speaker 2: and with a membership on that, you will get special
- 43:22Speaker 2: invitations to come see the house, meet the cast members,
- 43:27Speaker 2: everything Brady. That would just be a dream. You know,
- 43:33Speaker 2: there's going to be a limited amount of people that
- 43:35Speaker 2: can have the membership because you know, I can't have
- 43:38Speaker 2: like huge parties or anything. I want more like, you know,
- 43:41Speaker 2: small gatherings. But yeah, that's there's gonna if you're a member,
- 43:45Speaker 2: you're gonna come.
- 43:46Speaker 1: You're oh wow, I'll have to I'll have to be
- 43:50Speaker 1: looking for that so I can be one of the
- 43:51Speaker 1: first people. I don't want to be left out of
- 43:53Speaker 1: that for sure. Well, thank you so much, Tina, thank
- 43:56Speaker 1: you for having me. Well, thank you. It's been true.
- 43:59Speaker 1: It's been great. I mean, and this has been so
- 44:00Speaker 1: much fun. And I just want to remind you moms
- 44:05Speaker 1: out there, and now here's something very special. I have
