- 0:00Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and welcome to another episode
- 0:04of the United Church of Tonga Youth Devotion.
- 0:09The Bible reading for today is taken from the Book of Lamentations,
- 0:13chapter 3, verses 22 and 23.
- 0:18It says, Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 0:24for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 0:29Great is your faithfulness.
- 0:32The shame, God's mercies never end. Great is God's faithfulness.
- 0:39This book of Lamentation is a poetic work filled with sorrow and chaos.
- 0:46It was written to depict the Israelites' frustration regarding the fall of Jerusalem
- 0:54from Jeremiah's perspective.
- 0:56King Nebuchadnezzar and his Babylonian empire took over the great city of David.
- 1:04Judah and the Israelites were cast into exile and slavery in other nations.
- 1:12The book clearly illustrates that sin and rebellious acts were the reasons behind God's wrath.
- 1:21As we read through Lamentations, we gradually realize God's goodness.
- 1:27He never fails us, even in the face of hardship.
- 1:31He remains the Lord of hope, love, and faithfulness.
- 1:37Amid frustrations and grief, there is always a glimmer of hope and comfort.
- 1:44He is good to those who place their hope in him and seek him sincerely.
- 1:50Our mornings often kick off with the sound of alarms as we get breakfast ready
- 1:56and rush to get to work or to school on time.
- 2:00From childhood to adulthood, this lively chaos becomes a familiar routine.
- 2:07After a tough day like yesterday, we sometimes find ourselves feeling a bit
- 2:13overwhelmed, which can lead to what we call a bad morning.
- 2:18Unfortunately, that can snowball into a bad day filled with frustration.
- 2:24It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and forget why we're here each day.
- 2:32But there's a beautiful reminder in the Bible about the Lord's never-ending
- 2:38love for us. even when times get tough and we stray from his path.
- 2:45He's always there for us, never letting us down.
- 2:49His love is so incredible.
- 2:52Every morning brings a fresh dose of mercy, showing just how faithful he really
- 3:00is, even though we all have our flaws.
- 3:04Isn't it comforting to know that we're embraced by such unwavering grace?
- 3:11Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us find peace and hope in each chaotic morning,
- 3:20just as Jeremiah reveals in Lamentations chapter 3.
- 3:25Know that he is faithful and his undying love renews his mercy every morning
- 3:33so that we can always turn to him,
- 3:36even in our most devastating moments.
- 3:41He is always there for us, just a prayer away.
- 3:46Let us pray. Dear God, great is your faithfulness.
- 3:51We acknowledge that we are sinners and we seek your mercy.
- 3:56May our hearts and minds not be discouraged by these temptations,
- 4:04but let us fix our focus on you, Lord.
- 4:08As we begin this morning, we ask for your guidance to be upon us.
- 4:14We ask all the these things.
- 4:16In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
