- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up
- 0:05Speaker 1: next.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonia
- 0:10Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. Good morning, good morning.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Thank you for joining us here today. Just one more
- 0:15Speaker 1: day before the weekend is officially here, and I think
- 0:17Speaker 1: we've got a long weekend very soon. Yes, so T Pavali,
- 0:20Speaker 1: but for O levels, oh, we got some science and
- 0:23Speaker 1: literature papers happening today. So good luck. Singapore's number one
- 0:27Speaker 1: hit music station.
- 0:31Speaker 1: And like we mentioned earlier, all the best for your
- 0:33Speaker 1: upcoming exams if you're taking any today. Um, it's gonna
- 0:36Speaker 1: be an intense week, but hopefully you get to rest
- 0:39Speaker 1: and relax over the weekend. Yeah, because I'm looking at
- 0:42Speaker 1: the O levels calendar. Yeah. Uh, it more or less
- 0:46Speaker 1: ends on the 10th of November. So hang in there,
- 0:50Speaker 1: maybe say close to 2 weeks before you can really celebrate.
- 0:53Speaker 1: The end of your secondary school journey. Yeah, I've been
- 0:57Speaker 1: seeing some of the primary students on PSLE trips with
- 1:01Speaker 1: their family and stuff. It's pretty cute. Um, did they
- 1:05Speaker 1: mention when that is not yet not yet. We are
- 1:09Speaker 1: waiting with bated breath on when it will be announced. Well,
- 1:12Speaker 1: sending you lots of love. You've done your best. Good luck.
- 1:15Speaker 1: it's a mad rush. It'll be the results and then
- 1:18Speaker 1: the posting results. Yeah, for sure. Wow, I don't miss that, man.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Like I remember.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Being pretty stressed about that, like kind of worried. I
- 1:34Speaker 1: was the next best thing and I got my home
- 1:35Speaker 1: away from home. Yeah, and, and every time we go
- 1:38Speaker 1: for a visit or when we went for the Anthony,
- 1:41Speaker 1: which is my alma mater,
- 1:44Speaker 1: Lamenting like, oh man, like I don't even have my
- 1:46Speaker 1: secondary school. It's actually very sad. I know, yeah, it
- 1:50Speaker 1: must be a strange feeling like not to be able
- 1:52Speaker 1: to go back I loved that so much. You know,
- 1:57Speaker 1: my secondary school so much. I hope Ariana's OK. I mean,
- 2:01Speaker 1: as we all know, was it like 1 or 2
- 2:03Speaker 1: weeks ago that she shared about the passing of her dog?
- 2:07Speaker 1: that was last week. Was it last week? Yeah, you know,
- 2:09Speaker 1: I
- 2:10Speaker 1: I just went to visit my parents last night and
- 2:14Speaker 1: uh wanted to give Maxi a big giant hug because
- 2:16Speaker 1: I just love her so much. And my mom took
- 2:19Speaker 1: this ridiculous video of me like scrunching her face up
- 2:21Speaker 1: and just like messing with her and she just kind
- 2:24Speaker 1: of like smiles and I don't know what's going on
- 2:27Speaker 1: in her small little brain, but I hope she knows
- 2:29Speaker 1: that we love her. My big sister is showing me love. Yes,
- 2:33Speaker 1: give me more. When I, when I show you the video, it's,
- 2:36Speaker 1: it's more like my big sister is crazy.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But I don't know, like, ever since hearing about Ariana
- 2:42Speaker 1: Grande's dog passing away, you know, it's, I've never had
- 2:46Speaker 1: a dog in my life. Maxie's my first family dog,
- 2:49Speaker 1: even though she doesn't exactly live with me, but I'm
- 2:51Speaker 1: very attached to her, as you know, and I don't
- 2:54Speaker 1: want the day to come where like I have to
- 2:57Speaker 1: say goodbye to her. I know it's morbid to say
- 2:59Speaker 1: this in the morning, but
- 3:00Speaker 1: If you have a pet, any pet doesn't need to
- 3:03Speaker 1: be a dog. Go give it a squish and a
- 3:04Speaker 1: hug this morning. Even goldfish, it don't squish it. OK, yes,
- 3:10Speaker 1: pet is fine. Don't squish the fish. You had a terrain.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I had a terrapin called Polly, like many years ago
- 3:19Speaker 1: that grew so big we couldn't take care of it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: We had to find a pond to release her into. Um, ethically,
- 3:24Speaker 1: of course, we're going to find out where. Um, I
- 3:27Speaker 1: had a hamster called Peanuts.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Unfortunately didn't live very long. Yeah, I got sick and
- 3:33Speaker 1: then anything else? I had guppies, but that wasn't really counted.
- 3:37Speaker 1: It was some like school project that we had. Did
- 3:40Speaker 1: you name your guppies? That one I can't remember. Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 1: but that, that was about it. I didn't have any
- 3:46Speaker 1: other pets. And then followed by Max Max, yeah, for
- 3:48Speaker 1: a long time I didn't have any pets. Yeah. Mine
- 3:51Speaker 1: was my golden retriever.
- 3:52Speaker 1: time ago. I didn't get to meet that Goldie. No,
- 3:55Speaker 1: I was a kid. I know we didn't know each
- 3:56Speaker 1: other as kids, but yes, CJ, hope you're doing fine
- 4:00Speaker 1: across the rainbow bridge, my friend. I'm pretty sure all
- 4:03Speaker 1: the dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge are kind
- 4:06Speaker 1: of like just having a party and hanging out. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I want to believe that. OK, even the naughty ones, yes, yes,
- 4:13Speaker 1: even the naughty ones, they deserve to have fun too.
- 4:16Speaker 1: They had all the fun already on planet Earth being naughty. Maybe,
- 4:20Speaker 1: maybe they're like the prefects have to be born as
- 4:23Speaker 1: prefects give them some responsibilities.
- 4:25Speaker 1: What a random conversation. Actually, Rome, a place that I
- 4:29Speaker 1: have not been to. You need to go. I know,
- 4:31Speaker 1: I know. It's just that the last time I went
- 4:33Speaker 1: to that region, that area, I just didn't, I just
- 4:36Speaker 1: didn't happen to stop by Rome. It wasn't on my itinerary.
- 4:39Speaker 1: When you go to Rome, aside from the Vatican and
- 4:41Speaker 1: the Colosseum, make sure you go to old town Rome, OK,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and look for this very nice restaurant called Nanarella. Nanarella, yes.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Is it very legit? It's Jo's.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Others approve. OK, so she became a connoisseur in multiple cuisines. No, no,
- 4:57Speaker 1: because my mom is a bit picky when it when
- 4:59Speaker 1: it comes to food, yes, right, right. So when I
- 5:02Speaker 1: picked the restaurants and I brought her to, of course, Asteria, Fortunata,
- 5:06Speaker 1: and Nanala, she enjoyed those two because my biggest fear
- 5:11Speaker 1: is dining with a picky eater. Yeah, I, I do
- 5:15Speaker 1: know one person. I will not name this person on air.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Um, but there's this one person that, uh, is in,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I would say constantly, constantly in a situation where I
- 5:26Speaker 1: have to eat with this person, OK.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And um this person is known to be extremely, extremely
- 5:32Speaker 1: picky to the point where like sometimes this person won't
- 5:34Speaker 1: eat if the menu is not to his or her liking.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So why not let this person dinner or lunches and stuff.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Sometimes we do that, but uh when this person picks,
- 5:44Speaker 1: it's sometimes not the rest of our liking. Oh, OK.
- 5:49Speaker 1: So to give him or her credit, uh, they always
- 5:52Speaker 1: just go like, you guys pick, and then I'll see.
- 5:55Speaker 1: There's something on the menu that I like. If there's
- 5:57Speaker 1: anything I miss about Europe, it's how cheap the wine is.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you might think it's cheap wine, but it's
- 6:03Speaker 1: still very good wine. The price of a bottle of water,
- 6:07Speaker 1: especially in Italy and Spain. When we come back though,
- 6:10Speaker 1: something that will give you all the feels that happened
- 6:13Speaker 1: 18 years ago, and these two current stars recreated their
- 6:18Speaker 1: vlog from 2008 for a makeup brand commercial. 2008.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Was it just was on the rise during that period.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Lindsay Lohan. OK, OK, er, er era, good start, good start.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Is it a girl or a guy? Two girls girls.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Not from Singapore. Not from Singapore, of course, no. That's
- 6:42Speaker 1: very broad. So two global superstars recreating a vlog that
- 6:47Speaker 1: they did back in the year 2008 for a makeup
- 6:50Speaker 1: brand commercial. Were they called vlogs back then? Yeah, it's
- 6:53Speaker 1: still called vlogs. I mean 2007 onwards when MySpace, YouTube
- 6:59Speaker 1: and Facebook became a thing.
- 7:01Speaker 1: People were exploring long form content back then and I'm
- 7:04Speaker 1: very happy to see the cycle repeat itself. Yeah, isn't
- 7:08Speaker 1: Instagram introducing like 90 minute reel or something like a
- 7:11Speaker 1: mini movie on Instagrams. Ah yes, yes, that'll be interesting actually. So,
- 7:16Speaker 1: wanna take a guess on who these
- 7:18Speaker 1: Two global superstars are OK, they're both female. They're both
- 7:21Speaker 1: female actress or actresses or singers or could be like
- 7:25Speaker 1: a triple threat. They can act, dance and sing. Miley, OK,
- 7:29Speaker 1: you're getting close. close. Someone in the Disney with a
- 7:33Speaker 1: Disney pass.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Demi Lovato. Demi Lovato is correct Demi Lovato. And one more,
- 7:40Speaker 1: same surname as me. Selena Gomez. You are absolutely right.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Demi Lovato.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Right, what are they up to? So what happened is,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know, Selena Gomez has rare beauty, right? Of course,
- 7:53Speaker 1: I love her products. So I think both of them
- 7:55Speaker 1: actually recreated a vlog from 2008 to promote rare beauty,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and they do it now in a Q&A format. They're
- 8:03Speaker 1: all grown up now. It will definitely give you the
- 8:06Speaker 1: feels from 18 years ago. I just scrolled through.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Um, Selena posted it on Instagram actually, and um it's
- 8:12Speaker 1: got that like vintage feel to it, and they filled
- 8:16Speaker 1: the whole room with props that you would only recognize
- 8:18Speaker 1: from the early 2000s. I love it, which is so cute. Actually,
- 8:22Speaker 1: it's nice to see them having fun together. Yeah, all
- 8:25Speaker 1: they need now is the Jonas Brothers to join them
- 8:27Speaker 1: on the scene. Oh my God, yeah, let's see what
- 8:28Speaker 1: happens the circle.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So I think I'm, I know you pretty well in
- 8:34Speaker 1: terms of like, you don't go to our neighboring countries
- 8:38Speaker 1: to do like medical or any sort of procedures. No,
- 8:41Speaker 1: you just do it here in Singapore. Just yesterday, very
- 8:44Speaker 1: interesting office, one of our colleagues was like, hey, yeah,
- 8:48Speaker 1: my Botox this and that. I was like, oh, OK.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And then they all looked at me. Joakim, do you
- 8:53Speaker 1: do Botox? I was like, No, I don't. He skin
- 8:56Speaker 1: is so good, so naturally, so jealous. Botox is not
- 8:58Speaker 1: for your complexion. I, I, I don't know. It's for
- 9:01Speaker 1: your like lines. Again, if you hear anything else, you've
- 9:05Speaker 1: heard it here first on 987. I've not done any
- 9:07Speaker 1: Botox or anything invasive. Actually, both of us are quite.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Noobs when it comes to those things. All I use
- 9:13Speaker 1: is LaRoche sunblock and other skincare lah, not just the skin. OK. Anyway, um,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I do know quite a lot of people that like
- 9:22Speaker 1: to go to neighboring countries to do other types of procedures, um,
- 9:25Speaker 1: not just aesthetics, but, you know, medical stuff as well, because, OK,
- 9:29Speaker 1: to be very fair, it is much cheaper. It is
- 9:32Speaker 1: way cheaper, but you are paying for a plane ticket
- 9:35Speaker 1: to fly there.
- 9:37Speaker 1: No, so according to my friends, even if you pay
- 9:41Speaker 1: for the plane ticket and your hotel as a bundle
- 9:44Speaker 1: together with the medical service, it's still cheaper than Singapore.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So I'm guessing that's what they're saying. It's places like
- 9:49Speaker 1: Thailand or Malaysia where it's very advertised like it's McDonald's,
- 9:54Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Thailand is really catching up in terms of aesthetics.
- 9:58Speaker 1: This woman, um, Singaporean woman, she went to Johor to
- 10:02Speaker 1: do some, um, teeth fillings, OK. She's dental, uh, dental procedure. Um,
- 10:09Speaker 1: she visited these dental clinics in Johor and she suffered
- 10:13Speaker 1: complications after getting these fillings at two different clinics, OK.
- 10:18Speaker 1: So this happened in September, not too long ago. She
- 10:22Speaker 1: said the first incident took place early September at a clinic.
- 10:25Speaker 1: She had cleaned her teeth at a different clinic previously,
- 10:27Speaker 1: but in the same dental group, but she couldn't get
- 10:30Speaker 1: an appointment at the original clinic, so she went to
- 10:32Speaker 1: another outlet, but under the same group. So you would
- 10:36Speaker 1: think that like, oh, it's safe, you know, like, I mean,
- 10:38Speaker 1: if you're used to doing Raffles Medical here in Singapore,
- 10:40Speaker 1: chances are, whichever Raffles Medical you go to is pretty
- 10:43Speaker 1: much similar service. It's down to whether or not
- 10:46Speaker 1: you have like a preferred doctor, for example, right, and
- 10:49Speaker 1: whether or not you're comfortable with taking someone else, to
- 10:51Speaker 1: which sometimes I myself would feel like, OK, maybe I'll
- 10:55Speaker 1: just wait for a few days till the doctor comes back,
- 10:57Speaker 1: then I'll see the same doctor just to be safe,
- 10:59Speaker 1: just to be safe. But perhaps she wasn't going to
- 11:01Speaker 1: stay there for too long, so she just went. Um,
- 11:04Speaker 1: she thought the process would just be filling of materials
- 11:07Speaker 1: in her teeth. She allegedly claims that the dentist was
- 11:11Speaker 1: drilling her tooth with no warning. This is her claiming it, OK.
- 11:16Speaker 1: So, it's still under investigation right now. She spent over
- 11:18Speaker 1: $100 at this place and the tooth became super inflamed.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I think the area around it as well, and she
- 11:24Speaker 1: said never in my life she has experienced this kind
- 11:27Speaker 1: of pain. So, unfortunately, um, they said that the nerve
- 11:32Speaker 1: in the tooth was exposed and now she has to
- 11:34Speaker 1: go see a senior dentist to fix the whole situation.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So she's saying, now I want to tell everyone that
- 11:41Speaker 1: it may not be worth it to go all the
- 11:42Speaker 1: way to your neighboring countries for treatment just to save
- 11:45Speaker 1: money and she regrets it. I mean, could this be
- 11:47Speaker 1: a peanuts monkey? Yes, in a way, but I just
- 11:52Speaker 1: want to have a disclaimer that not all clinics are
- 11:55Speaker 1: like that. And it's not to give our neighboring countries
- 11:58Speaker 1: a bad name. I, I know of friends who have
- 12:01Speaker 1: gone to neighboring countries and they love it, and they
- 12:03Speaker 1: keep going back to the same clinics to do their procedures.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So it's not all clinics. Some do, but also some
- 12:09Speaker 1: come back with a bit of botched procedures. That's the thing,
- 12:12Speaker 1: now you have to pay even more money to fix
- 12:13Speaker 1: it in Singapore. Exactly. So please make sure you do
- 12:16Speaker 1: your research again, like your interior designers and contractors, what
- 12:21Speaker 1: works for your friend might not work for you. Hey,
- 12:25Speaker 1: and you know what, um, here in Singapore, we're not
- 12:27Speaker 1: exempt from these situations. I just read a case, I
- 12:30Speaker 1: think it was a week or two ago of an
- 12:31Speaker 1: aesthetic doctor.
- 12:33Speaker 1: That's, um, I'm not sure what his punishment is about
- 12:36Speaker 1: to be, but he, he botched like several patients uh procedures,
- 12:41Speaker 1: and it resulted in some, I don't know, bad outcome,
- 12:45Speaker 1: and it's a, it's a Singaporean aesthetic doctor. I feel
- 12:48Speaker 1: like it's a bit of a cycle, you know, I
- 12:49Speaker 1: know Singaporeans who go to Thailand.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And Korea for their procedures, but then for Singapore, maybe
- 12:55Speaker 1: say our friends from around the region like maybe Indonesia,
- 12:58Speaker 1: they come here for procedures and all that. Yeah, right,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you're not wrong. Just take a walk at Paragon Medical Center.
- 13:06Speaker 1: You will understand what I mean. That one is not ours.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I go Paragon. I go to the basement to buy coffee. My, my,
- 13:14Speaker 1: my ENT is there. OK, he's good. OK, but there
- 13:16Speaker 1: was no choice. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What up, Dr. Tan. Yes,
- 13:20Speaker 1: there he is. I'm so sorry. My mouth is full.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'm having a peanut butter sandwich. I enjoy it. I
- 13:27Speaker 1: enjoy whenever you take a bite out of something at
- 13:29Speaker 1: the wrong time here on the show. Yeah, I was like, oh, OK,
- 13:32Speaker 1: 25 more seconds, la. Guess not. You underestimate your mouth
- 13:35Speaker 1: size sometimes. anyway, OK.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I want to be a fly on the wall for
- 13:42Speaker 1: this particular meeting that happened yesterday.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And I'm very sure you'd have seen the videos and
- 13:47Speaker 1: the articles now on social media and from our local press, where, yep,
- 13:52Speaker 1: Minister Shanmugam, Minister Gan Kim Yong, and Minister for Sustainability
- 13:57Speaker 1: and the Environment and Minister in charge of trade relations, Ms.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Grace Fu, they were present for a meeting with the
- 14:05Speaker 1: senior leaders of the 10 Singapore-based companies served legal notices
- 14:11Speaker 1: over the transboundary haze. Yeah, OK.
- 14:14Speaker 1: OK, this is what it isn't. It is not a
- 14:16Speaker 1: name and shame. It is not a, oh, you're guilty
- 14:19Speaker 1: of everything. No, no, no. It's more of a meeting
- 14:22Speaker 1: between them and the ministers saying, OK, your company has
- 14:25Speaker 1: been named. We expect full cooperation for investigation.
- 14:30Speaker 1: To take place of what really happened. If there's no wrongdoing,
- 14:33Speaker 1: we'll move on. Yeah. If we find something, we hope
- 14:36Speaker 1: to have your full cooperation on answering our questions. And
- 14:40Speaker 1: then the camera pans to everybody in the room, and
- 14:43Speaker 1: who's there? Mr. Davinder Singh. You know it's real. I mean,
- 14:48Speaker 1: you know it is hitting the fan. I would be quaking, yes, honestly,
- 14:53Speaker 1: like I don't.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I will literally sit there and say nothing at this point,
- 14:57Speaker 1: it's so scary. So I think there were loads of
- 15:00Speaker 1: doorstop interviews done by, of course, coordinating Minister Shanmugam, and
- 15:05Speaker 1: also shout out to Balakrishnan, who actually flew down to
- 15:10Speaker 1: Indonesia to go and meet his counterpart and I think
- 15:13Speaker 1: President Prabowo himself. Yeah, I saw some pictures of him
- 15:16Speaker 1: shaking hands and smiling when asked by the media, he said.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm not at liberty to discuss whatever took place with
- 15:21Speaker 1: President Prabowo, but talks are in place for this joint
- 15:25Speaker 1: task force task force. Yes. We love our task force.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Like we, we honestly love that term as well. So, uh,
- 15:32Speaker 1: Gan Kim Yong be in charge because he's the task
- 15:34Speaker 1: force man? Right. Perhaps we'll see where it goes, but
- 15:37Speaker 1: you know, I am very proud of Singapore for doing
- 15:39Speaker 1: all this, you know, it's like we've come out somehow
- 15:42Speaker 1: from this situation.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Being the sensible ones and being the people that we
- 15:47Speaker 1: want to strike a peaceful conclusion with everyone around us.
- 15:57Speaker 1: we live in a bilateral relations with our neighbors are
- 15:59Speaker 1: very important. So yeah, there you go, we take it seriously.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Um, it's a developing story, I'm sure. So we'll, we'll
- 16:05Speaker 1: see what the updates are over the next few weeks.
- 16:15Speaker 1: He's a busy man, very busy man. Just a question
- 16:18Speaker 1: for you, when was the last time you went overseas
- 16:21Speaker 1: and you did a little bit of shopping? Do I
- 16:24Speaker 1: look like a shopper to you? No, but when you
- 16:26Speaker 1: travel with your mom, you, you guys, right? You bought
- 16:29Speaker 1: some stuff, no, no, no, you guys.
- 16:32Speaker 1: OK, just her and who was the one paying? Me, OK,
- 16:36Speaker 1: because you brought her for the holidays. That's the kind
- 16:38Speaker 1: of shopping. So when we were in Milan after seeing
- 16:43Speaker 1: the Duomo, we went, Oh, OK, let's go to the
- 16:46Speaker 1: shopping district area for a nice walk. Jalan Jalan has
- 16:49Speaker 1: some lunch. The lunch was going to the Prada store,
- 16:53Speaker 1: and my mom just spending time inside the first Prada
- 16:56Speaker 1: store ever. Wow, so nice. Hi, I wish I can
- 16:59Speaker 1: buy a bag here. How I wish, right?
- 17:02Speaker 1: In other words, she's hoping that you get her something.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I know. Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say that. Yeah.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Thank you. Anyway, um, yeah, when it comes down to
- 17:14Speaker 1: buying things overseas, when you come back to Singapore or
- 17:18Speaker 1: maybe even when you're overseas, they do give you like, um,
- 17:22Speaker 1: like a slip or
- 17:24Speaker 1: I think they call it like Global Blue or something.
- 17:26Speaker 1: That that's the company that runs it in some countries, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:33Speaker 1: But um, you know, there there are many rules about
- 17:37Speaker 1: buying a lot of luxury items and coming back here
- 17:39Speaker 1: to Singapore. So, so if you
- 17:42Speaker 1: Actually do end up buying, like the right thing to
- 17:44Speaker 1: do is to declare what you've bought. If not, you
- 17:47Speaker 1: may get a fine that could be deemed not worth
- 17:52Speaker 1: it for you to be buying this overseas anymore, right?
- 17:55Speaker 1: But for this particular guy, um, unfortunately, a very interesting case, uh,
- 17:59Speaker 1: it's a Singaporean man, by the way, he claims, he claims, OK,
- 18:03Speaker 1: I think it's still being investigated right now. He claims
- 18:06Speaker 1: that he was stopped at the JB checkpoint.
- 18:09Speaker 1: And had to pay $18.40 in Singapore dollars um of
- 18:15Speaker 1: duties on a speaker that he bought two years ago.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and this $18.40 works out to be about 10%
- 18:25Speaker 1: of the speaker's retail price. So he allegedly was made
- 18:30Speaker 1: to pay the tax on it, and he decided to
- 18:32Speaker 1: take his woes to TikTok to say and explain what happened.
- 18:36Speaker 1: He said, I claim that I bought this 2 years ago,
- 18:38Speaker 1: but they're telling me that I have to pay the
- 18:39Speaker 1: taxes on this speaker, which they're saying like, no, it
- 18:42Speaker 1: looks new, like you should, you should be paying taxes
- 18:45Speaker 1: on this speaker.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Um, however, um, according to his TikTok video, when he
- 18:49Speaker 1: was asked if he had the receipt, he said, I
- 18:51Speaker 1: don't because it was bought in 2024. The officers allegedly,
- 18:55Speaker 1: I'm saying allegedly, then searched the price of the speaker online.
- 18:59Speaker 1: They didn't want to let him go. They search for
- 19:01Speaker 1: the price and then they said.
- 19:03Speaker 1: OK, um, it's this amount, and it stated the speaker
- 19:07Speaker 1: is $185. This is what it is in Ringgit, so
- 19:11Speaker 1: you have to pay 10% of it. I don't know why,
- 19:13Speaker 1: but I feel like there's something fishy going on here. Yeah,
- 19:16Speaker 1: so he agreed to pay the tax anyway because I
- 19:18Speaker 1: guess he just wanted to like get out of the situation.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Um, the officers then asked him, do you want to
- 19:23Speaker 1: pay by cash or visa? And he said he did
- 19:26Speaker 1: not really have cash, so he paid by visa. And
- 19:30Speaker 1: apparently the officers even asked to check his wallet to
- 19:33Speaker 1: ensure that he was telling the truth that he didn't
- 19:35Speaker 1: have cash. What? Yeah, so I don't know, man, a
- 19:38Speaker 1: lot of fishy things. There's a lot more details that
- 19:41Speaker 1: are revealed in his video and the article, but um,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I think many netizen.
- 19:46Speaker 1: are reacting with confusion and saying like how can a
- 19:49Speaker 1: 2 year old item be still taxable? Something weird is
- 19:52Speaker 1: going on. What I want to know is how did
- 19:55Speaker 1: the officer know that the speaker looked? I don't know
- 19:59Speaker 1: how interesting. That's why I think it's still being hopefully
- 20:01Speaker 1: being investigated right now. Look, at least it was only
- 20:04Speaker 1: $18 and not like $180 or $1000 or whatever, right?
- 20:09Speaker 1: But still, um.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I don't know. Something doesn't strike me as it being
- 20:14Speaker 1: a right situation here. Do you think this is why
- 20:18Speaker 1: sometimes people turn these cases to social media? Yeah, because
- 20:21Speaker 1: they feel like they have no choice, maybe. Because, for example,
- 20:24Speaker 1: if I were to make a legitimate report, it might
- 20:26Speaker 1: be ignored and not many people might know about it. Yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: but if I go to social media, they can't ignore
- 20:33Speaker 1: it anymore.
- 20:34Speaker 1: So I wonder what happens. Maybe they have different types
- 20:37Speaker 1: of rules there. I don't know, but just be very careful.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Read up on each country's laws as you come in
- 20:43Speaker 1: and out, I guess. I'm just being a capo. What
- 20:46Speaker 1: was this? Was this JBL or? Let me see if
- 20:48Speaker 1: the brand is or what's the, what's the luxury brand, uh, Diale? No, no.
- 20:57Speaker 1: It is not very obvious. Yeah, because I don't see any,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I don't see any like to, to go through logo
- 21:03Speaker 1: on it, to go through all that trouble for a
- 21:06Speaker 1: speaker that might go the Bluetooth device is ready to
- 21:09Speaker 1: be connected. I'll be very, I'll be very angry like wow,
- 21:13Speaker 1: this cheap speaker causing me so much problem.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know, but I don't think
- 21:18Speaker 1: it's a very expensive speaker. I mean, like I said,
- 21:21Speaker 1: it's about 180+ speaker, so it's not like your luxury brands.
- 21:26Speaker 1: In fact, I don't recognize the logo, so I, I
- 21:29Speaker 1: could not tell you what it is. Yeah. OK, so
- 21:32Speaker 1: got some tea for you, OK.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Not gonna name names, once again, everything is always anonymous,
- 21:37Speaker 1: but more often than not inspired by real-life stories and
- 21:40Speaker 1: people around us or even ourselves. At this point, we
- 21:42Speaker 1: are like a Reddit comment section. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Lots
- 21:45Speaker 1: of info, lots of info. So, um, I had, I
- 21:49Speaker 1: caught up with a friend recently, um, and my, this friend.
- 21:54Speaker 1: A mine has been seeing this girl for some time, OK?
- 21:57Speaker 1: They've been on and off. They've been on and off.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And apparently this year they tried to like make things
- 22:02Speaker 1: work for real, so they're in like a relationship now. Oh,
- 22:05Speaker 1: that's nice. Yeah, and um I was like, OK, I mean,
- 22:08Speaker 1: I've had my reservations about this um partner, this girl,
- 22:13Speaker 1: simply because it was based off what my friend was
- 22:16Speaker 1: telling me, OK, and I felt like, bro, I don't know,
- 22:20Speaker 1: is she compatible? Like, are you guys compatible?
- 22:23Speaker 1: Just based off what you're telling me it doesn't sound
- 22:25Speaker 1: like it, you know. Sonia red flag, it's serious.
- 22:31Speaker 1: It is serious. No, because, OK, typically I'm the kind
- 22:34Speaker 1: of person in my, in my dating life, if I
- 22:37Speaker 1: look back at my history of dating, right, I'm the
- 22:39Speaker 1: kind that like, I may hear things about this person
- 22:43Speaker 1: or like bad things, but I just want to find
- 22:44Speaker 1: out myself, you know, if I'm, if I'm really attracted
- 22:47Speaker 1: to this person or I find this person interesting or intriguing,
- 22:50Speaker 1: then it's up to me to figure out the red flags.
- 22:52Speaker 1: But if my friends are asking me for my opinion,
- 22:55Speaker 1: That would mean maybe they're getting a bit more serious
- 22:58Speaker 1: and they just want to know whether the friends around
- 23:00Speaker 1: them approve because you are a very open person, but
- 23:04Speaker 1: if you see the red flags despite being a very
- 23:07Speaker 1: open person, then yeah, something is wrong something is there, yeah.
- 23:11Speaker 1: So what happened was, um, he was saying, yeah, you know,
- 23:13Speaker 1: after all this on and off, like, uh, seems to
- 23:15Speaker 1: be going a bit more stable, then his birthday came about, OK,
- 23:19Speaker 1: birthday came about.
- 23:21Speaker 1: And this friend of mine is a simple guy, like quite,
- 23:25Speaker 1: quite similar to you in a way that like doesn't
- 23:27Speaker 1: covet over like branded stuff or like, you know, you
- 23:30Speaker 1: don't need to buy any like high-end things. I'm guessing
- 23:34Speaker 1: the most expensive thing that me and maybe your friend
- 23:38Speaker 1: is like a piece of tech.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Yeah, or maybe a watch. I think, I think you have, you,
- 23:43Speaker 1: you did, you do have like one or two luxury watches. Yeah,
- 23:47Speaker 1: and very similar. So, you know, just a dude that
- 23:51Speaker 1: likes to do sports and like do boy things or
- 23:54Speaker 1: like men things, you know. So on his birthday,
- 23:59Speaker 1: This, this girl who um I've gotten the impression that
- 24:02Speaker 1: she can be quite materialistic, which was the first red
- 24:05Speaker 1: flag for me because like what I mentioned, my friend
- 24:08Speaker 1: is a simple guy, right? Um, she bought him a
- 24:12Speaker 1: branded item, OK? And it's, it's, it's kind of like
- 24:15Speaker 1: a bag of some sort, like a branded bag. It's
- 24:18Speaker 1: so not him.
- 24:20Speaker 1: It is a bit gaudy, to be honest, like, a
- 24:24Speaker 1: bit loud, and the brand, the brand name is like
- 24:27Speaker 1: everywhere kind of situation.
- 24:30Speaker 1: It's like you want people to know that you're carrying
- 24:32Speaker 1: a branded item, you know, buying a backpack. Yeah, like
- 24:37Speaker 1: those anti-theft bag or like a, you know, camping bag
- 24:40Speaker 1: or something. I don't know. So now I have my question,
- 24:42Speaker 1: how come the girl do? That's the thing. So my
- 24:45Speaker 1: theory is that she maybe she had good intentions. Maybe
- 24:48Speaker 1: she's like, oh, I want to buy him something branded,
- 24:51Speaker 1: or it could also be the kind of situation where
- 24:54Speaker 1: she expects him to buy her branded things as well.
- 24:58Speaker 1: That could be one of the reasons. Or could I
- 25:00Speaker 1: give you scenario C? What this expensive bag that she
- 25:04Speaker 1: bought for your friend, is the, the, the seal the
- 25:07Speaker 1: deal or the leash? The leash being that, OK, I
- 25:12Speaker 1: bought the expensive thing, you better carry for me. No,
- 25:15Speaker 1: you better carry and show to the world that I
- 25:18Speaker 1: am your girlfriend. That's why I bought this for you. Well,
- 25:21Speaker 1: you know, if you know him well enough, if you
- 25:23Speaker 1: see him carrying this, you definitely think it's out of
- 25:25Speaker 1: place for sure.
- 25:27Speaker 1: So he was kind of confiding in me about this story,
- 25:29Speaker 1: saying like, dude, when I received the gift, I didn't
- 25:32Speaker 1: know how to react because I hated it. He was like,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I hated it. Um, she clearly doesn't know me like well,
- 25:39Speaker 1: do you even know me after all this time? Like,
- 25:42Speaker 1: the fact that you would even buy this, firstly, is
- 25:44Speaker 1: not cheap. Secondly, it's so not my style, and now
- 25:47Speaker 1: I have to wear it and pretend that I like it.
- 25:49Speaker 1: But can I guess when he received it, his words were.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Thank you all very sweet. He can't really vocalize his
- 25:54Speaker 1: initial reaction was like, huh, why did you buy this?
- 25:58Speaker 1: I think it was just like a knee-jerk reaction. After
- 26:01Speaker 1: which I think he recovered and you know, he goes, Oh,
- 26:03Speaker 1: thank you, thank you so much. And I, I guess
- 26:06Speaker 1: she was a bit affected, but she's like, you mean
- 26:07Speaker 1: you don't like it, like, you know, and after, after
- 26:10Speaker 1: like a week or two, he wasn't really seen carrying
- 26:12Speaker 1: it that much. She questioned him again. Why are you
- 26:15Speaker 1: not carrying, why are you not carrying the bag?
- 26:17Speaker 1: So then he was just like going on about this
- 26:19Speaker 1: with me and he said, what should I do? And
- 26:21Speaker 1: I said, bro, you know what, like if you really,
- 26:23Speaker 1: really like this girl, even though I don't quite understand
- 26:26Speaker 1: because clearly she doesn't really get you, then this is
- 26:30Speaker 1: a small battle that just don't fight lah. tough. You
- 26:33Speaker 1: know what I mean? Just, do you want to get
- 26:35Speaker 1: into a fight about this? I don't know, man. I mean,
- 26:38Speaker 1: germs in the initial stage has bought me like one
- 26:42Speaker 1: or two things that I didn't quite wear.
- 26:44Speaker 1: But he kind of learned from that and I didn't
- 26:46Speaker 1: say that I didn't, it's not really my style and
- 26:49Speaker 1: I didn't say, but he did get the hint because
- 26:51Speaker 1: he realized I wasn't really wearing it. So then he said,
- 26:54Speaker 1: why don't you tell me what you prefer for your
- 26:56Speaker 1: next like birthday and I'll get it for you. To
- 26:58Speaker 1: my bros who are tuned in to this set right
- 27:01Speaker 1: now safest option, food.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Honestly, safest option is food. Like if it's your birthday, come, Oaka.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I mean, yes, but also like you still have to
- 27:11Speaker 1: get your partner a gift, right? Then you must do
- 27:13Speaker 1: the research correctly. Either that or how about this? If
- 27:16Speaker 1: we're adults, just be direct. Just be like, hey, you know,
- 27:18Speaker 1: I need some help thinking about a gift. Maybe you
- 27:21Speaker 1: can list me three things that you want. List me
- 27:23Speaker 1: 3 things that you want. And for me, I'm not
- 27:25Speaker 1: really that big on like gifts. I don't really, it's,
- 27:28Speaker 1: it's more of like time spent for me. I'm not
- 27:30Speaker 1: big on like.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Realistic things. See, at least you're patient about it because
- 27:33Speaker 1: the pressure that us men face, right, is, for example,
- 27:37Speaker 1: if we have a partner who's the kind of partner
- 27:39Speaker 1: that might have a Sunday brunch with the girlies, right,
- 27:42Speaker 1: and say, I am, my husband useless. I have to
- 27:44Speaker 1: tell him what I want. He couldn't guess. You know what,
- 27:48Speaker 1: for me, I'm like, forget the guessing game. If I
- 27:50Speaker 1: really want something and if my partner or my husband
- 27:53Speaker 1: or boyfriend is asking me what I want, I will
- 27:55Speaker 1: just bring you to the shop and say this is
- 27:56Speaker 1: what I want.
- 27:57Speaker 1: OK, boom, done. Thank you. Easy. Then we all win.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I get the thing I like and he doesn't have
- 28:02Speaker 1: a headache. But you are such a rare. OK. Everyone
- 28:07Speaker 1: else guessing game compared to those who expect us to
- 28:09Speaker 1: know what you want, you know, like who think that
- 28:12Speaker 1: we are psychics. It's a problem. It's a big problem. Let's, um,
- 28:17Speaker 1: open up the phone lines 669-11987 or drop us a
- 28:20Speaker 1: message 90050987.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Have you ever received a gift before that you did
- 28:27Speaker 1: not like? But you pretend to like.
- 28:31Speaker 1: You have no choice. You have to pretend to like it. Just,
- 28:34Speaker 1: you know, act blur, live longer kind of situation. Give
- 28:37Speaker 1: us a call and let us know. Let's have a
- 28:38Speaker 1: good laugh about it. You can remain anonymous if you want,
- 28:41Speaker 1: if it's sensitive for you. Why not? Uh, please spill
- 28:44Speaker 1: some tea. I would love to hear in exchange, a
- 28:47Speaker 1: wonderful experience to little farms could be coming your way.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I'm quite confused about this one. I want to say
- 28:55Speaker 1: good morning to username. My name is Jeff on WhatsApp,
- 29:00Speaker 1: who goes, Hey, Sonia and Joakim, I have given someone
- 29:03Speaker 1: a gift, and they pretended to like it. It is
- 29:06Speaker 1: actually Mount Fuji Air in a can. What? My friend
- 29:11Speaker 1: was like, How do I know?
- 29:13Speaker 1: Whether is it real? Is it the real thing? Yeah,
- 29:16Speaker 1: it could be from Toa Payoh. So Jeff actually sends
- 29:19Speaker 1: us a picture of the Mount Fuji air. I'm, I'm
- 29:23Speaker 1: very confused because you're paying a few 100 yen per can. Wait,
- 29:27Speaker 1: could it have been a gag gift, like a funny gift, but,
- 29:30Speaker 1: but it says Fuji Fuji.
- 29:34Speaker 1: And you can see it right there. Yeah. How do
- 29:38Speaker 1: they even bottle this? They just walk to the base
- 29:42Speaker 1: of the mountain and scoop the air in a can.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I don't know. We can actually import air now from
- 29:47Speaker 1: Mount Fuji. It's like.
- 29:48Speaker 1: It's a souvenir, is it? It's just a souvenir. Perhaps, perhaps,
- 29:52Speaker 1: but I think it's a gag gift. It's meant to
- 29:54Speaker 1: be a joke. It's the kind of thing where if
- 29:56Speaker 1: I receive it, I'm not going to open it just
- 29:57Speaker 1: to keep it in there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One more
- 30:00Speaker 1: coming in from Katie. Hello, Katie. Katie, you said I
- 30:04Speaker 1: have received a gift from my cousin before, and you
- 30:07Speaker 1: know what he gave me? A math exam paper from China.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I was frustrated, but I pretended to like it as
- 30:13Speaker 1: a gift, and he told me to do it in
- 30:15Speaker 1: front of him. What? It could be for revision or
- 30:17Speaker 1: something like that, poor thing. That's so strange. Like I
- 30:21Speaker 1: guess at the end of the day what people think,
- 30:23Speaker 1: you know, maybe you have a different sense of humor.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Like what I think is funny is not what you
- 30:27Speaker 1: think is funny. I mean, if a family member buys
- 30:29Speaker 1: me an exam paper, you're officially estranged from me because
- 30:32Speaker 1: you're not gonna do it. Why would you do that?
- 30:35Speaker 1: You're gonna be like, you clearly don't know me at all. Exactly.
- 30:38Speaker 1: But you know, you see, that's the thing.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Like just for laughs, I might get you like an
- 30:42Speaker 1: art-related set, for example, you know, you forgot. I think
- 30:46Speaker 1: it was 2 years ago just for laughs for a
- 30:48Speaker 1: Christmas present you bought me astrology cards. Oh yeah, that
- 30:51Speaker 1: was hilarious. It's still sealed in the pack, by the way.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I've not opened it.
- 30:54Speaker 1: That was so funny. When I, when I, can I
- 30:57Speaker 1: re-gift it to someone? No, when I saw it in
- 31:00Speaker 1: the store, I was, I laughed to myself and I
- 31:02Speaker 1: was like, I'm just going to give this to Jogan
- 31:03Speaker 1: to trigger him. And by the way, there was no
- 31:06Speaker 1: pretense on whether they like the gift or not. I
- 31:08Speaker 1: clearly should have said, What the hell do you buy me?
- 31:12Speaker 1: What is this? Just the reaction I wanted. The moment
- 31:14Speaker 1: I saw it, yep, let's trigger Joakim nonsense. Anyway, when
- 31:19Speaker 1: we come back, some of your calls and more of
- 31:21Speaker 1: your messages. Still time for you to get those in.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Have you ever received a gift that you did not like,
- 31:26Speaker 1: but you just pretended to like it, you know, just
- 31:28Speaker 1: a self-preservation at this point. Talking about the times where
- 31:31Speaker 1: you might have received a gift that you did not like,
- 31:35Speaker 1: but you had no choice but to pretend to like
- 31:37Speaker 1: it anyways. Got one.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Will. Will says, morning Sojo. I once received a gift
- 31:43Speaker 1: from a close client. He gifted me a hamper containing
- 31:46Speaker 1: Martel and bird's nest. While I appreciated the gift and
- 31:50Speaker 1: the act, I actually don't drink and I'm allergic to
- 31:53Speaker 1: bird's nest. The worst part is that he continued to
- 31:57Speaker 1: send it to me for the next 3 years on
- 31:58Speaker 1: my birthday. So all these years I've been re-gifting those gifts.
- 32:03Speaker 1: It only stopped because he migrated. I felt bad, but
- 32:06Speaker 1: I couldn't bring myself to tell him.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Well, this is a tough one. I mean, these are
- 32:11Speaker 1: nice gifts. Like he must really like you as a person.
- 32:15Speaker 1: At this point, the rabbit hole to stop it from happening. Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Once you pass the first gift and you didn't give
- 32:22Speaker 1: any feedback that you're allergic to, it's too late.
- 32:25Speaker 1: From Bintu Hisham, Morning Sojo. Loving this topic. My first
- 32:29Speaker 1: gift from my husband was a gaudy orange watch, and
- 32:33Speaker 1: I straight up told him, I'm really sorry, but can
- 32:35Speaker 1: we please return and exchange it for something else? For
- 32:38Speaker 1: the following birthdays, he said, I just give you money, lah.
- 32:40Speaker 1: You choose what you want.
- 32:42Speaker 1: That's also the safest option. Very safe, honestly, as we've gotten,
- 32:47Speaker 1: you know, older and we start working more in life, right, like, um,
- 32:50Speaker 1: I tend to also like give my parents like ang
- 32:52Speaker 1: pao instead because at this point I don't really know
- 32:55Speaker 1: what they want or need anymore. And sometimes my mom
- 32:57Speaker 1: and dad would say like they would rather use the
- 32:59Speaker 1: money for like useful stuff and don't, they, they always
- 33:02Speaker 1: like don't go and waste money, buy like brand.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Don't buy us branded things. We don't mind. We don't
- 33:08Speaker 1: mind the NTUC vouchers or the grocery vouchers. Just give us,
- 33:11Speaker 1: you know. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. So I guess it
- 33:14Speaker 1: changes along the way also for both ways. Yeah. Keep
- 33:17Speaker 1: it coming over at 669-11987. We do have anonymous on
- 33:22Speaker 1: the line in just a while, but Jeff is on
- 33:25Speaker 1: the line right now in the midst of telling us
- 33:27Speaker 1: about a hair tonic that his friend got for him
- 33:31Speaker 1: of all things, a hair tonic.
- 33:32Speaker 1: OK, Jeff, what happened and did you use it to,
- 33:35Speaker 1: to grow your hair la to, to, to make sure
- 33:37Speaker 1: you have a better something else I was like I
- 33:39Speaker 1: have hair, why did you give me this? I have
- 33:44Speaker 1: a hair. I'm like 15 years old. I was like,
- 33:46Speaker 1: why did you give me this? And he was like, uh,
- 33:48Speaker 1: for your future use. I was like, what? What a
- 33:51Speaker 1: weird gift. I'm not sure about that, but it's like
- 33:54Speaker 1: equivalent to, to like buying.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Perfume or deodorant for someone, a deodorant for someone, it
- 34:00Speaker 1: like almost implies like, is it I got BO? That's
- 34:03Speaker 1: why you're, you know what I mean? It's like when
- 34:05Speaker 1: you buy something that seems to help a problem, you
- 34:08Speaker 1: start to second guess yourself. So this reminds me of
- 34:11Speaker 1: some time ago, a girl actually bought me cologne. It's
- 34:15Speaker 1: not the one I use. Oh, she bought me what
- 34:19Speaker 1: she wants me to smell like.
- 34:22Speaker 1: For her, did you like it? No, you didn't like it.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I didn't like it. I forgot what it was. And how?
- 34:28Speaker 1: How did, did you just wear it anyway just to
- 34:30Speaker 1: make her happy? When I'm going out with her, I
- 34:32Speaker 1: wear it. Oh my gosh, I'm going out on my own,
- 34:34Speaker 1: I'll wear something else. Even my mom recognized the smell going,
- 34:37Speaker 1: this is not your smell. Yeah, that's the thing, cologne
- 34:41Speaker 1: and any personal scent or like lotions that you put
- 34:43Speaker 1: on yourself, it's very personal. It's really hard to force
- 34:46Speaker 1: me to change to something that you like, but I
- 34:49Speaker 1: may not like it because I find that smell.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I'm sticking to it forever. Agree, agree. I mean, I
- 34:54Speaker 1: do have like a common rotation of perfumes and lotions
- 34:58Speaker 1: and sometimes I think Joe will mention like, oh yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 1: I smelled you in the lift. I'm like, yes, I
- 35:03Speaker 1: can also smell Joakim from the lift. Some of your
- 35:05Speaker 1: sprays and perfumes you can smell a mile away signature. Yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I'm talking about whether you've received a gift that you
- 35:12Speaker 1: didn't quite like, but you just pretended to like it anyway.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Just for self-preservation. Got one hilarious one coming in from Bone.
- 35:19Speaker 1: I'm on WhatsApp. Let's go. Morning, Sonia and Joakim. For
- 35:23Speaker 1: my housewarming two years ago, one of my aunties gave
- 35:26Speaker 1: me a housewarming gift. She said it was an exclusive
- 35:29Speaker 1: from Germany. So it was something like a statue and
- 35:32Speaker 1: it's something decorative, and we're not big on art pieces
- 35:36Speaker 1: because our house has a specific theme, so we just
- 35:39Speaker 1: pretended that it was so beautiful that's because our relative.
- 35:43Speaker 1: was um the one that bought it for us. We
- 35:46Speaker 1: didn't think too much of it, you know, just because
- 35:48Speaker 1: we kept it in the storeroom. And then one day
- 35:51Speaker 1: when our auntie came to visit again casually, she asked,
- 35:54Speaker 1: Where is the art piece that I got you? My
- 35:56Speaker 1: partner and I looked at each other and gave an
- 35:58Speaker 1: excuse that it was stored in our master bedroom. Thank
- 36:01Speaker 1: God she didn't ask to see or go in. Oh
- 36:03Speaker 1: my God. Can you imagine? Very lucky. If she was like, Hey,
- 36:06Speaker 1: let me see where you put it. Oh no.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Bro, I would not know how to get my way
- 36:11Speaker 1: out of that, man. That one is quite scary. I'll
- 36:13Speaker 1: just be like, um, I don't think that you should
- 36:15Speaker 1: walk into our master bedroom. We have like other things
- 36:19Speaker 1: I didn't pack my room. I didn't pack my room.
- 36:21Speaker 1: That's the best, it's very messy. I really rather not
- 36:24Speaker 1: use it. Yeah. One coming in from anonymous texter, Sonia.
- 36:27Speaker 1: My husband and I used to give my parents-in-law money
- 36:30Speaker 1: for their birthday, but we stopped after we found out
- 36:33Speaker 1: that they're always giving it to their youngest child who is.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Jobless. So we will now make a point to give
- 36:39Speaker 1: them gifts that they can use instead. Oh. OK. I mean,
- 36:45Speaker 1: maybe they're just doing it out of the goodness of
- 36:47Speaker 1: their hearts because they're like, we don't need this money
- 36:49Speaker 1: right now. But there's a lot going on here that
- 36:52Speaker 1: we don't know for sure, for sure. And if I'm
- 36:54Speaker 1: the person giving the money and I find out that
- 36:56Speaker 1: you're actually gifting it to someone else, yeah, yeah, I
- 36:59Speaker 1: may feel a certain way about it. Keep the calls
- 37:01Speaker 1: coming in at 669-11.
- 37:03Speaker 1: 987 or you can WhatsApp us at 90050987. We do
- 37:08Speaker 1: have an anonymous caller hanging on the line. Had a
- 37:11Speaker 1: hilarious past um 45 minutes or so just laughing at
- 37:15Speaker 1: some of these stories here. I'm inspired by a real-life
- 37:17Speaker 1: one of my friend receiving a gift from a girl
- 37:20Speaker 1: that he's been going out with, and, uh, you know,
- 37:23Speaker 1: he told me, yeah, things are getting a little bit
- 37:25Speaker 1: more serious and his birthday came about, she bought him
- 37:28Speaker 1: a gift that he hated.
- 37:31Speaker 1: And it made him question like, oh my God, does
- 37:33Speaker 1: this girl know me at all because I would never
- 37:35Speaker 1: wear this. And uh, you know, she then, no, I
- 37:39Speaker 1: think there's a lot more at play here. She's a
- 37:40Speaker 1: little bit materialistic and I think she expects the same
- 37:43Speaker 1: kind of like branded stuff from him, but he's not
- 37:46Speaker 1: that kind of guy. So, at the end of the day, look,
- 37:49Speaker 1: like gifts can be very subjective and very personal. He
- 37:54Speaker 1: had no choice.
- 37:54Speaker 1: But to pretend like he liked it. I got one
- 37:56Speaker 1: for you. Yeah. I had to pretend that I liked
- 37:59Speaker 1: the meal that was cooked by someone I was seeing
- 38:03Speaker 1: at that point in time. Oh no, that's the worst.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Was it? How bad was it? Like, OK, and by
- 38:08Speaker 1: the way, if you're tuning in now, Kim's like food standards.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I mean, he's not that kind of guy that's like, oh,
- 38:16Speaker 1: we must always eat at like.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Places or whatever, not at all, not at all like that.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I don't think you're very picky, to be honest. Like
- 38:22Speaker 1: you just eat whatever. Again, we can have McDonald's at
- 38:24Speaker 1: East Coast Park, and that's like a date. If the
- 38:26Speaker 1: convo is going well and the company is great, it's fantastic, dude.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I'd rather do that than go to some Michelin restaurant
- 38:32Speaker 1: and I got nothing to talk to the person. What
- 38:35Speaker 1: can you tell that to my 21 year old self
- 38:37Speaker 1: and I asked you out? We didn't go to Michelin restaurant. What?
- 38:42Speaker 1: And also we, we had things to talk about, you know,
- 38:44Speaker 1: back then carnivore expensive. Oh, that's true. That's true. OK, no,
- 38:46Speaker 1: but I was going to say, so imagine this for
- 38:48Speaker 1: this girl that I was seeing her birthday. I saved
- 38:51Speaker 1: up whatever little money I had back then, brought her
- 38:55Speaker 1: for a nice meal, good steak and all that. When
- 38:58Speaker 1: my birthday came around, she prepared this really terrible tasting pasta.
- 39:04Speaker 1: It's like sausage and very watery tomato gravy. Oh no,
- 39:09Speaker 1: that's horrible bolognese, right? It was bad and I had
- 39:13Speaker 1: to pretend that I liked it because she's a bit
- 39:15Speaker 1: of a short fuse, sensitive. Yeah. OK, give me your
- 39:18Speaker 1: pretend face. 00, no, I asked for more.
- 39:23Speaker 1: It's so good.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Can I have one more bowl, please?
- 39:29Speaker 1: Oh my Lord, help me. One and done. OK. That's
- 39:33Speaker 1: funny though. Now I need to recreate this pasta.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Please don't.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Don't waste good pasta. We have an anonymous on the
- 39:42Speaker 1: line right now. Anonymous. Tell us what happened.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Well, mine is um my mother-in-law.
- 39:50Speaker 2: And basically she's, for the goodness of her heart, she
- 39:54Speaker 2: loves getting us presents during Christmas and one thing, you know,
- 39:58Speaker 2: for the presents to be something useful or nice, but
- 40:00Speaker 2: a lot of times this ends up being novelty gifts. Um,
- 40:04Speaker 2: and she would give us the presents on Christmas Day
- 40:06Speaker 2: and would ask us to open it and literally sit
- 40:08Speaker 2: there and watch our reaction to it. Oh God.
- 40:13Speaker 2: And so my husband and I will always have to,
- 40:15Speaker 2: you know, open the presents and sometimes, well, most times
- 40:18Speaker 2: it's gifts that we don't know how to react to it,
- 40:20Speaker 2: so we, oh, thank you, thank you, very, very nice,
- 40:24Speaker 2: very useful, um.
- 40:27Speaker 2: And there was this like one year that she got
- 40:29Speaker 2: us this phone magnifying screen thing, so it's like a
- 40:33Speaker 2: big magnifying glass thing and then you put your phone
- 40:36Speaker 2: at the back and it would um basically magnify the words,
- 40:41Speaker 2: enlarge your screen um for us to watch shows, but
- 40:45Speaker 2: it didn't um
- 40:47Speaker 2: It didn't work out as well as it would, uh,
- 40:50Speaker 2: she thought, um, it was very blurry and stuff like that,
- 40:52Speaker 2: so she was like, useful, right? And the two of
- 40:55Speaker 2: us were sitting there like, yes, very useful, thank you.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I, I feel like my heart aches for these like,
- 41:02Speaker 1: you know, aunties and uncles, right? I mean, and our
- 41:05Speaker 1: parents and
- 41:06Speaker 1: You know, in-laws and all that because they, they have
- 41:08Speaker 1: good intentions. And they genuinely think that it's something useful
- 41:11Speaker 1: for us, so I don't want to break their heart also.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Is she still buying gifts for you then Anonymous?
- 41:16Speaker 2: He is, um, but in recent years, I think he
- 41:19Speaker 2: realized we are not quite using the gifts. Um, so,
- 41:23Speaker 2: so she's been asking like my husband during Christmas, oh,
- 41:26Speaker 2: what do you guys want? And then
- 41:28Speaker 1: Yeah, she has learned her lesson. That's always safe. Always
- 41:32Speaker 1: the safest question to ask. Thank you so much for
- 41:34Speaker 1: sharing Anonymous and making us laugh this morning. You have
- 41:36Speaker 1: a great day, OK? Take care. Thank you. Don't forget
- 41:39Speaker 1: to use your magnifying sheet on your phone later. OK, bye.
- 41:44Speaker 1: We had such a good laugh this morning. I mean, look,
- 41:46Speaker 1: this is extremely relatable when you receive gifts that it's
- 41:49Speaker 1: not exactly your style or you don't really like it,
- 41:51Speaker 1: but
- 41:52Speaker 1: You just pretend to like it so that you just
- 41:54Speaker 1: don't get into any situation or argument or nobody's unhappy,
- 41:58Speaker 1: you know. It's a safety mode. Yes, you know what
- 42:00Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah, yeah. Better save yourself. But I think
- 42:03Speaker 1: for today I want to give it to an anonymous
- 42:05Speaker 1: caller who called us earlier. Thank you very much for
- 42:07Speaker 1: that call. Yeah, you told us about your mother-in-law buying
- 42:10Speaker 1: you gifts and for the longest time you guys just
- 42:12Speaker 1: pretend like you like it. Yeah, I mean, that's cute.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Your mother-in-law had good intentions. You know what, bring your
- 42:19Speaker 1: mother-in-law for a very nice shopping experience.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Thanks to our friends over at Little Farms. We're giving
- 42:23Speaker 1: you a $100 voucher. Yeah, why not, right? Just give
- 42:27Speaker 1: it a shot and you know, if you want to
- 42:29Speaker 1: go get some produce, why not? You can also discover
- 42:31Speaker 1: a taste of Italy at Little Farms from now to
- 42:33Speaker 1: the 18th of November. Um, it's in partnership with the
- 42:36Speaker 1: Italian trade agency, by the way, so they've got really
- 42:39Speaker 1: authentic Italian produce and culinary traditions brought to Singapore thanks
- 42:43Speaker 1: to Little Farms. So if you're curious, please visit their
- 42:47Speaker 1: Instagram page, Little, that's at Little Farms.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Taste of Italy, right? Yeah, I miss paninis. Oh, I
- 42:53Speaker 1: hope they bring in the proper meats for that and
- 42:55Speaker 1: they can serve it to you over there. Yeah, well,
- 42:57Speaker 1: there's plenty to explore, you know, including cheeses, wines, charcuterie.
- 43:02Speaker 1: So lots to, lots to try. I hope you enjoy yourself. Um,
- 43:05Speaker 1: we've got a little something for you right now. So,
- 43:09Speaker 1: Maju Forest and Gilman Barracks, we promised you the moment
- 43:11Speaker 1: we hear updates, we'll let you know here on 987.
- 43:14Speaker 1: And I would say this is considered good news. Yes, yeah.
- 43:17Speaker 1: So your voices have been heard.
- 43:20Speaker 1: So what happened is, according to our friends over at CNA,
- 43:23Speaker 1: housing plans for Maju Forest and Gilman Barracks have been
- 43:26Speaker 1: revised to cut about 1200 homes and retain more greenery
- 43:32Speaker 1: following public feedback. HDB announced yesterday, Wednesday.
- 43:37Speaker 1: So it's about maybe say 11,000 homes across both sites
- 43:42Speaker 1: over the next decade, 4000 public housing units at Maju Forest,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and 7000 homes at Gilman Barracks, of which 5500 will
- 43:52Speaker 1: be public housing. So now the Maju Forest, the amount
- 43:57Speaker 1: of it that will be retained, it will be about
- 43:59Speaker 1: 10 hectares, 10 HA, yeah.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I mean, that's very good news because, OK, one thing
- 44:04Speaker 1: that I really like about our country is the greenery, honestly,
- 44:09Speaker 1: like the fact that we were able to merge greenery
- 44:11Speaker 1: with modern architecture is, is, is amazing. And other countries
- 44:16Speaker 1: actually use us as a blueprint, you know. So if
- 44:19Speaker 1: you want the graphics and the map on exactly where
- 44:22Speaker 1: it's being retained, you can log on to our friends
- 44:24Speaker 1: over at CNA. I think they will show you the
- 44:26Speaker 1: one over at Sunset Way area and they will show
- 44:28Speaker 1: you the one over at Gilman Barrack.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Which is bordering on Telok Blanga Hill Park and Hot
- 44:34Speaker 1: Park as well. And with the fact that they're going
- 44:36Speaker 1: to retain more greenery, I think this area is going
- 44:39Speaker 1: to be even hotter than before. Oh yeah, I mean
- 44:41Speaker 1: hotter meaning like more popular than before. And given how
- 44:45Speaker 1: they are reducing the amount of houses constructed, yeah, maybe
- 44:48Speaker 1: the pricing might go up slightly up. This one we
- 44:51Speaker 1: need to consult our friends who are in real estate. Yes,
- 44:54Speaker 1: we do, who by the way, are all upping their
- 44:57Speaker 1: social media game, man. I'm getting so.
- 45:00Speaker 1: So many videos. I mean, now Thomson Reserve that's happening. So, um,
- 45:04Speaker 1: interesting food news here today, not exactly announcing any new
- 45:07Speaker 1: opening or closures or anything at all, but a worrying
- 45:10Speaker 1: pattern here in Singapore and our hawkers are speaking out.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Here we go. 123, food news, news. Sonia with worrying
- 45:22Speaker 1: food news. Because you mentioned earlier about our sugar and
- 45:25Speaker 1: then now it's now down to our salt and sodium, yeah.
- 45:29Speaker 1: So, yeah, uh, we tackled the whole sugar-related problem by,
- 45:34Speaker 1: you know, really encouraging all Singaporeans to consume less sugar,
- 45:38Speaker 1: and I think that's pretty much under control, it seems,
- 45:40Speaker 1: you know, most drinks now have like the healthier options
- 45:44Speaker 1: as well. Um, however, our hawkers have spoken out because
- 45:49Speaker 1: a survey recently and recent findings have showed and revealed
- 45:53Speaker 1: that about 95% of Singapore residents consume way too much sodium.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I'm not surprised because when we eat out, and for
- 46:01Speaker 1: you and I, I think we eat out a lot.
- 46:03Speaker 1: We either eat out or we order food in quite often, right?
- 46:06Speaker 1: It's just got no time to cook and the chances
- 46:09Speaker 1: are you can't control the amount of sodium or salt
- 46:11Speaker 1: that's being put in there.
- 46:13Speaker 1: So hawkers have decided they try to reduce the salt
- 46:16Speaker 1: on their end. So they maybe they use um less salt,
- 46:20Speaker 1: soy sauce or like, you know, just put less salt
- 46:22Speaker 1: in general. Customers are complaining. They're not used to the taste.
- 46:26Speaker 1: They say, why is it so tasteless? It's where's the flavor?
- 46:29Speaker 1: It's so bland. It's very tough. And, and one of
- 46:33Speaker 1: these wonton mee sellers, um, his name is Mr. Yen.
- 46:37Speaker 1: He actually noticed people adding a scary amount of soy
- 46:42Speaker 1: sauce into the wanton noodles because they say it's not
- 46:44Speaker 1: salty enough. And to quote, he said, it's so scary
- 46:48Speaker 1: the way they pour the soy sauce into their food.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Um, he runs this place called Xiangqi Wanan Me at
- 46:54Speaker 1: Bedok Food Center, by the way, it's pretty good for
- 46:56Speaker 1: about 50 years take us away from sugar, but you
- 46:59Speaker 1: cannot take us away from our salt. I know. So
- 47:01Speaker 1: that's the thing, as Singaporeans, we still like the familiar
- 47:04Speaker 1: stronger flavors. I admit I'm like that too. I'm the kind,
- 47:07Speaker 1: I love to put extra sauce, extra chili, like extra
- 47:11Speaker 1: everything into my meals.
- 47:12Speaker 1: For sure. So your home cooked meals, right? Do you
- 47:15Speaker 1: find yourself using less salt or do you still the same? No, OK, interestingly,
- 47:20Speaker 1: I'm quite healthy when I cook my meals at home,
- 47:24Speaker 1: which I wish I had the time to do more often.
- 47:26Speaker 1: It's just very hard because, you know, you do that,
- 47:28Speaker 1: then you got the cleaning up to do the prep
- 47:30Speaker 1: and everything. It's just like we don't have the time. Um,
- 47:32Speaker 1: also want to take you over to this tall.
- 47:36Speaker 1: So if you eat your, you know, nasi parada, ayam paneer,
- 47:39Speaker 1: all these kind of stuff, you know that it's very
- 47:40Speaker 1: flavorful as well, right? Um, so this lady, um, who's
- 47:44Speaker 1: the owner, uh, of, I think, No India Kitchen, her
- 47:48Speaker 1: name is Madam Haja, um, it's a popular nasi ayam
- 47:52Speaker 1: panett also at the Bedok area.
- 47:55Speaker 1: She said that they attempted to do a healthier ayam pane.
- 47:58Speaker 1: So you know, yon panet is like, I would say fried, right?
- 48:02Speaker 1: So she recalled trying to bake it instead of fry
- 48:05Speaker 1: it because baking generally is the healthier option.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Apparently got rejected by the customers. Yeah, because if you're
- 48:14Speaker 1: going for, the last thing you want is a healthier.
- 48:16Speaker 1: You know it's. Literally, like it was, you know, I
- 48:20Speaker 1: think some of the baked versions went unsold and the
- 48:22Speaker 1: diners will say, Hey, this one is not authentic la, cannot.
- 48:24Speaker 1: Oh no. So what to do, you know, these hawkers
- 48:27Speaker 1: are trying. The progress is slow despite the efforts to
- 48:30Speaker 1: cut out sodium and reduce sodium. So I don't really
- 48:34Speaker 1: know where this is going to go because the hawkers
- 48:36Speaker 1: themselves can cut.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Down, but as consumers, you might just top up the
- 48:39Speaker 1: salt and the soy sauce instead. I mean, even your
- 48:42Speaker 1: favorite soups, right, if you order a bowl of soup,
- 48:46Speaker 1: the amount of sodium in there is going to be
- 48:48Speaker 1: very high. Yeah, and if they reduce it and cut it,
- 48:50Speaker 1: then you have the problem, you face the problem of
- 48:52Speaker 1: them just topping it up with the condiment section. There
- 48:55Speaker 1: you go, unless, and I hope this doesn't happen, they
- 48:58Speaker 1: start charging a lot for the condiments. They might like
- 49:02Speaker 1: if they really want to try and help you, I
- 49:05Speaker 1: don't know.
- 49:06Speaker 1: I start charging a lot for condiments. I think some
- 49:08Speaker 1: places already are doing that. When you ask for extra
- 49:10Speaker 1: chili packets, they will charge me, you know. These are
- 49:12Speaker 1: times where I wish I was a culinary expert so
- 49:14Speaker 1: I can tell you what to do. But in the meantime,
- 49:16Speaker 1: just tahan and watch your sodium intake. It's always good
- 49:20Speaker 1: to monitor these things just in case. How do you
- 49:23Speaker 1: monitor your sodium intake? I mean, just know what you're
- 49:25Speaker 1: having per meal. Check your meals, have, have a good count,
- 49:28Speaker 1: for example, if you're having your ba chomi in the afternoon,
- 49:31Speaker 1: what do you have at night? Do you have bacho
- 49:33Speaker 1: me again tomorrow?
- 49:35Speaker 1: Are you targeting me because I love eating? No, no,
- 49:38Speaker 1: I'm just giving you like the saltiest dish I can
- 49:41Speaker 1: think of for now. True, true, or even chicken rice
- 49:44Speaker 1: with your sodium intake. I mean, the truth of the
- 49:47Speaker 1: matter is, as Singaporeans, especially in Southeast Asia, we love
- 49:50Speaker 1: our strong bold flavors. Yes, we do. That's it. We'll,
- 49:54Speaker 1: we'll see how this works out and how our hawkers
- 49:56Speaker 1: are dealing with it. OK, so when it comes to
- 49:59Speaker 1: the Sunday.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Lane, it's something that our friends over at Seletar Aerospace
- 50:05Speaker 1: Park that they have for now. It's a 4.6 km
- 50:08Speaker 1: stretch at the West Chem Road area. So once you
- 50:12Speaker 1: cross Yishun Dam on a Sunday morning from 5 a.m. to,
- 50:16Speaker 1: I think, was it 10:00 a.m. or 11 a.m. you
- 50:18Speaker 1: have the cycling lane to yourself. Our friends over at LTA,
- 50:22Speaker 1: they realize that and say, hey, let's extend it for you.
- 50:25Speaker 1: So they're going to extend it.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Seletar Aerospace Drive and Punggol Barra Drive. So we're looking
- 50:31Speaker 1: at a total of 11.2 km worth of cycling lane
- 50:35Speaker 1: for you on Sundays between 5 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Well,
- 50:40Speaker 1: that's interesting and with every piece of news, unfortunately, I
- 50:42Speaker 1: have to throw in a bad piece of news. What
- 50:44Speaker 1: happened here? I mean, look, that, that's very good for
- 50:46Speaker 1: the cycling community and people who are into fitness and
- 50:49Speaker 1: everything and always, you know, new venues to
- 50:53Speaker 1: To do these activities are always welcome, especially since Singapore
- 50:55Speaker 1: is such a small country, right? Um, I saw this
- 50:59Speaker 1: just posted last night, OK. You know Tanjong Pagar District Park, right?
- 51:05Speaker 1: They are, they were quite well known for doing a
- 51:07Speaker 1: lot of like cool events and like music-related events. In fact,
- 51:10Speaker 1: I've attended quite a number of like outdoor raves at Tanjong,
- 51:14Speaker 1: Tanjong Pagar District Park, not just music-related raves, but also
- 51:18Speaker 1: other types of like fashion or arts-related events.
- 51:22Speaker 1: And for the past 3 years, I think it's been
- 51:25Speaker 1: a signature venue for some of these parties. Um, unfortunately, apparently, OK,
- 51:30Speaker 1: this is what I just read. Due to an anonymous
- 51:33Speaker 1: complaint making some false claims about certain music events, Tanjung Paga.
- 51:39Speaker 1: District Park will not be hosting any more outdoor music events. Yeah,
- 51:44Speaker 1: and it's stated, at least not for the foreseeable future,
- 51:47Speaker 1: and apparently there's going to be very heavy restrictions. So,
- 51:51Speaker 1: in other words, it seems like it's not going to
- 51:54Speaker 1: be happening there.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Anytime soon. It is not so residential areas. I know.
- 52:01Speaker 1: So now I want to find out who are the
- 52:03Speaker 1: ones making these claims because it's not disturbing anybody. Whoever
- 52:06Speaker 1: lodged the complaint, right? I think you have to step
- 52:09Speaker 1: up now and say that you're an actual person and
- 52:11Speaker 1: you have proof of why you are aggrieved about this
- 52:15Speaker 1: whole thing. Yeah, because I'm telling you this was posted
- 52:16Speaker 1: like 15 hours ago. It's got over 1000 shares right
- 52:19Speaker 1: now and I think people are going to go on
- 52:20Speaker 1: a witch hunt for the people who did that. How
- 52:22Speaker 1: can you shut down another venue like.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Paker District Park is one of those like grungy venues
- 52:28Speaker 1: that I'm proud to bring my friends who visit Singapore,
- 52:31Speaker 1: bring them there for a party, you know, like it's
- 52:33Speaker 1: so cool. We already have very limited spaces, and I
- 52:36Speaker 1: really hope the authorities and the powers that be actually
- 52:39Speaker 1: investigate these complaints to make sure that it has some
- 52:42Speaker 1: grounds and not some random rumored complaints or someone that's
- 52:46Speaker 1: like jealous of the event and trying to sabotage, you know,
- 52:49Speaker 1: we want to get down to the bottom of this.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Let this be known, OK? Let this be very angry.
