- 0:00Speaker 1: The Hobakky Big Show.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Freshly made with Reburger.
- 0:21Speaker 3: G'day, you massive backbones. It is the Hodaki Big Show.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Keezy and Hoity J still on holiday for a couple
- 0:27Speaker 3: more days.
- 0:28Speaker 1: But don't worry.
- 0:29Speaker 4: I just heard they're not coming back, man.
- 0:30Speaker 5: What? Yeah.
- 0:32Speaker 6: You know what, man? I welcome that. I love you, Mogi.
- 0:36Speaker 4: I love you, man.
- 0:37Speaker 3: It's been a real treat, but as always, it is
- 0:39Speaker 3: brought to you by the good folks at Reburger. Crave-worthy
- 0:41Speaker 3: street food, freshly made over at Reburger.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Ah, that's really quite yummy.
- 0:48Speaker 6: How you going, man?
- 0:48Speaker 4: Going pretty grouse, man. Going pretty grouse. Had a nice
- 0:52Speaker 4: little evening last night, birthday dinner, et cetera. We'll get
- 0:55Speaker 4: into that later.
- 0:55Speaker 7: Oh, great.
- 0:57Speaker 4: And then another beautiful day today in the 09. It
- 1:00Speaker 4: really has spring has sprung. I know we talk about
- 1:03Speaker 4: that on the show a bit. I feel confident.
- 1:05Speaker 6: But you mean it this time.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know if I should mean it because
- 1:08Speaker 4: there will be more rain and wind.
- 1:11Speaker 6: Generally there is.
- 1:12Speaker 4: But we're getting some. It's definitely warmer. It's bloody beautiful.
- 1:15Speaker 3: My problem is that, so for example, Friday, last Friday,
- 1:19Speaker 3: it was a stonker of a day. Friday beers at
- 1:22Speaker 3: the pub, outside, on the street. But I'm trying to
- 1:26Speaker 3: make plans for daytime beers. This Saturday, and my weather
- 1:30Speaker 3: app has told me rain again.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
- 1:32Speaker 6: On the weekend.
- 1:32Speaker 3: So I keep trying to make daytime weekend plans, and
- 1:36Speaker 3: it looks like more rain, man.
- 1:37Speaker 4: It's one of the most annoying things when you live
- 1:38Speaker 4: in Wellington, when you would get those sunny days. And traditionally,
- 1:41Speaker 4: your sunny days, and you don't get a lot of them.
- 1:43Speaker 5: No.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Say what you like. I lived there for 20 years.
- 1:46Speaker 4: I love it. I love the place. Great place. But
- 1:49Speaker 4: the sunny days, you get about six of them a year. Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 4: And most of them, probably... probably at least three, probably
- 1:56Speaker 4: three to five, will land on a Monday.
- 1:59Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:00Speaker 6: Very inconvenient timing. And I also am from Welly as well,
- 2:03Speaker 6: so I feel you, man. Bit of weather chat. How's
- 2:06Speaker 6: it going where you are?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
- 2:07Speaker 6: New Zealand, 3483.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Should we have a geezer at what's coming up on
- 2:10Speaker 3: the show?
- 2:11Speaker 4: Go on, then.
- 2:15Speaker 6: What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mogi?
- 2:19Speaker 4: Pretty exciting stuff, man. We chatted to Queens of the
- 2:21Speaker 4: Stone Age a couple of years ago in person, and
- 2:23Speaker 4: we're talking today to their guitarist, Troy Van Leeuwen, after
- 2:27Speaker 4: 5 o'clock. Looking forward to that chat. Yeah. Also got
- 2:31Speaker 4: a bit of the general stuff that we've been doing.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Songs from bands that I like will be coming up
- 2:36Speaker 4: later on today. Pugson, it's your turn, mate. And up next.
- 2:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Up next, jeans with flip-flops or slash jandals. Let's call
- 2:44Speaker 4: them jandals because we're New Zealanders. Yes or no. Now,
- 2:47Speaker 4: I get around in jeans. I wear jandals with them.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Some people think it's completely fine. Other people are shocked. Yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 4: So we need to put it to bed one way.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Or the other.
- 2:58Speaker 1: All righty.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Well, let's crack into it. Get your initial thoughts through
- 3:02Speaker 3: on 3483. Every call, every text in the drawer for
- 3:04Speaker 3: a $ 50 Reburger voucher. And as I always say, You
- 3:08Speaker 3: can never have too much bush. Here's glycerin on the
- 3:11Speaker 3: Hauraki Big Show.
- 3:12Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Right now it's time for.
- 3:18Speaker 1: The Big Poll.
- 3:26Speaker 4: And this is a simple one today. Jeans with jandals,
- 3:29Speaker 4: yes or no?
- 3:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 4: This has been going on for quite a few years,
- 3:33Speaker 4: this one. There's been a few disagreements over it. I
- 3:36Speaker 4: remember there was somebody, there was a woman there, a woman.
- 3:41Speaker 4: She worked for the ACC, a younger woman, mid-20s. What
- 3:45Speaker 4: was her name?
- 3:45Speaker 6: Oh, there was a Zoe back in the day.
- 3:47Speaker 4: No, it wasn't Zoe. It was Katie, something or other. Oh, yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 4: And she was a massive hater of my wearing jeans
- 3:55Speaker 4: with jandals. And I've never seen anything wrong with it.
- 3:57Speaker 4: That was news to me when she said that. Really?
- 3:59Speaker 4: And she thought it was funny. She was like, you
- 4:02Speaker 4: are off your head. So I had her, obviously, I
- 4:06Speaker 4: had her fired. Yeah, I did wonder where she was.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I had her marched out of here. Happened very quickly, yeah, yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 4: But something came up yesterday and it sort of raised
- 4:13Speaker 4: this issue all over again. So we're doing the big
- 4:17Speaker 4: poll to determine, once and for all, Biden referendum, whether
- 4:21Speaker 4: it is a fashion crime. Or not.
- 4:25Speaker 6: I am leaning towards no. Yes, it is a fashion crime.
- 4:30Speaker 3: More so in the sense that it's such a contrast
- 4:34Speaker 3: for me, and I feel like there's a midpoint between
- 4:37Speaker 3: having something that is totally winter or cooler weather focused
- 4:41Speaker 3: and then something that is entirely summer focused. Obviously, you know,
- 4:47Speaker 3: everybody entitled to wear whatever they like, political answer, whatever,
- 4:50Speaker 3: but you are the only person I know that does this.
- 4:53Speaker 6: You are the only, I swear to God.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Wow.
- 4:56Speaker 6: You're the only person I see do that.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Wow.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I've seen.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Except for like people in Lower Hutt, where I'm from,
- 5:02Speaker 3: you know, taking the bins out or something.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, sure. Now, I've seen, certainly I'm
- 5:09Speaker 4: a leader in this area in fashion. But, yeah, I've
- 5:13Speaker 4: seen it a hell of a lot. So, yeah, it'll
- 5:15Speaker 4: be interesting. I think it's probably going to be determined
- 5:18Speaker 4: by age.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Younger boys won't be into it and.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Older people will be.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We want to hear your thoughts on 3483 and you
- 5:22Speaker 1: can take part in the official whining referendum.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Via big poll on the Hodaki Big Show Instagram. I
- 5:34Speaker 5: just put it up, which includes a lovely photo of.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Mogi's current outfit, so you can see yourself with jeans
- 5:40Speaker 3: and jandals in action.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Just had one come through from Alistair, 3483, hell yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 4: and with rolled up jeans too. And that's exactly what
- 5:49Speaker 4: I'm doing, because I'm a sicko.
- 5:50Speaker 6: You're a friggin' sicko, man. You're out of control, brother.
- 5:56Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 5:59Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Today's big poll, jeans with jandals, yes or no?
- 6:06Speaker 4: A simple one, I'm wearing jeans and jandals. And I've
- 6:11Speaker 4: always thought it was absolutely fine. I've copped a couple
- 6:14Speaker 4: of strays about it over the years, but not enough
- 6:18Speaker 4: to make me change it. I'll be honest with you,
- 6:20Speaker 4: I hate shorts. By and large. I mean, shorts and
- 6:26Speaker 4: jandals are pretty good, but jeans and jandals, it keeps
- 6:29Speaker 4: me connected to my favoured winter fashion.
- 6:32Speaker 6: The jeans.
- 6:33Speaker 4: The jeans. So jeans and a t-shirt and boots. And
- 6:36Speaker 4: I get to wear the same thing, except I get
- 6:38Speaker 4: to be wearing jandals, which is my second favourite form
- 6:41Speaker 4: of footwear.
- 6:42Speaker 3: The one thing I will say is, you know, a
- 6:45Speaker 3: lot of the time when you're wearing jeans as tight
- 6:46Speaker 3: as yours, Mogi, you imagine that you might get quite warm,
- 6:49Speaker 3: but you're obviously airing your feet out, so it's nice
- 6:51Speaker 3: to have that sort of cool area.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I tell you what, the jeans that I'm wearing are
- 6:56Speaker 4: not tight compared to the jeans that I was wearing
- 6:58Speaker 4: that were tight. I've got a whole bunch that I've
- 7:01Speaker 4: thrown out that were, it shocked me that they were
- 7:04Speaker 4: ever in fashion.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 4: And it is one of those things where it's like, well,
- 7:08Speaker 4: even the jeans that I've got now that are tight,
- 7:10Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, I could probably replace them. But also,
- 7:13Speaker 4: I just don't want to go and spend the money.
- 7:15Speaker 6: That's fair.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Just because somebody else thinks they're too tight, it's like, mate,
- 7:19Speaker 4: drink it in. Yeah. Drink it in.
- 7:22Speaker 6: You're getting a free show.
- 7:23Speaker 4: A bunch of texts come in there with a few opinions, Pugsan.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Yes, that's right.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And you can actually get your official vote up at
- 7:29Speaker 3: the Hauraki Big Show Insta. One thing I will say
- 7:31Speaker 3: is looking at the initial votes coming through on that poll,
- 7:34Speaker 3: very evenly split.
- 7:35Speaker 4: You think so?
- 7:36Speaker 6: Very evenly split.
- 7:37Speaker 3: First of all, loving seeing my mention of folks from
- 7:41Speaker 3: Lower Hutt wearing that kind of combo coming through on
- 7:44Speaker 3: the text machine. Jeans slash jandals, grouse, TY from the Hutt.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Another one here, jeans, jandals, stock standard, Hutt Valley Hard.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Absolutely. And I will just say on the shorts thing,
- 7:52Speaker 4: and even with the jeans at the moment, as we're
- 7:57Speaker 4: still pretty close to order, it's not hot. Once it
- 7:59Speaker 4: gets hot, hot, I'll be in shorts forever. And Jandals. Okay.
- 8:02Speaker 4: But it's sort of still in that area where we
- 8:05Speaker 4: are in betwixt and in between.
- 8:07Speaker 6: Yes.
- 8:07Speaker 4: You know, it's not 26s and 27s, you know. It's
- 8:11Speaker 4: 19s and 20s.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Another couple here.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Maybe if you were a student in Dunners 20 years ago,
- 8:16Speaker 3: grow up, Mogey.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Jeez.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Just absolutely going you. My mate was lost in the
- 8:23Speaker 6: desert with just his jeans on.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 8:25Speaker 6: No, that's a pun from Rory. I'm not even going
- 8:26Speaker 6: to do it. Revoke his right to vote. for not
- 8:29Speaker 6: liking shorts.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Yes, covered that off.
- 8:32Speaker 6: You heard it here first.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Someone here having a go at Jandal straps. A wide
- 8:36Speaker 3: strap on a big angle makes your big toe look
- 8:38Speaker 3: like it's got its own postcode. Suddenly, you look like
- 8:40Speaker 3: a bloke who brings sandwiches to work and rides a bike.
- 8:42Speaker 3: The Jandal is absolutely doing you, Mogi.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Well, it's not because I don't have a wide strap,
- 8:47Speaker 4: so I'm all good. Fine for chicks, not for guys.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I'm not sure if that's sexist or not.
- 8:53Speaker 6: It's dated from Emma and Amber Cargill.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Yeah, sexist against her own people as well. That's shocking
- 8:59Speaker 4: bastard material. And also another one that's saying that this
- 9:02Speaker 4: is actually becoming a fashion trend for Gen Z woman.
- 9:06Speaker 4: I'm all good with that.
- 9:08Speaker 6: Is someone dating a Gen Z woman? I haven't seen
- 9:11Speaker 6: it yet.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Right.
- 9:13Speaker 6: And I hope that I don't.
- 9:14Speaker 5: Right.
- 9:14Speaker 6: Put it that way.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Keep the text coming on 3483. We may revisit this
- 9:19Speaker 3: later if it's as controversial as it seems to be.
- 9:22Speaker 3: And your official vote up at the Hauraki Big Show
- 9:25Speaker 3: Instagram story.
- 9:25Speaker 6: Mogi, should we have a song from a band that
- 9:27Speaker 6: I like?
- 9:28Speaker 4: Go on then.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Songs from a band that I like.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Now, this is my last chance to do this because
- 9:35Speaker 3: tomorrow it's your turn.
- 9:37Speaker 5: Oh, yes.
- 9:37Speaker 6: Or we might have a Thursday throbber.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Yes, I think we should do it.
- 9:40Speaker 3: And so I thought it fitting to have a band
- 9:43Speaker 3: from Aotearoa for my final one and go slightly rogue.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I was torn between this band and another band from
- 9:51Speaker 3: Christchurch called Marsha, but I ended up going for this
- 9:53Speaker 3: one from Dunedin because I don't hear a lot of
- 9:55Speaker 3: bands or regularly listen to bands from Dunedin.
- 9:58Speaker 6: And so this is a tune from.
- 10:00Speaker 3: from a band called School Fair and it's called You
- 10:03Speaker 3: Only Love Me Cause You Want Something and it's got
- 10:07Speaker 3: a bit of a slow intro but.
- 10:08Speaker 6: I really like the vibe really like the beat.
- 10:10Speaker 3: These guys are great give them a home Also, send
- 10:17Speaker 3: through your thoughts on the tune on 3483. We'll read
- 10:20Speaker 3: out some of those responses next.
- 10:21Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 10:25Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 10:27Speaker 6: From Dunedin, that is school fair with You.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Only Love Me Because You Want Something on songs from
- 10:32Speaker 3: bands that I like on the Hauraki Big Show.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Mogi, what do you reckon?
- 10:35Speaker 4: Cracking tune.
- 10:37Speaker 6: Thank you so much.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Crackin' tune. No, that's great stuff. More New Zealand music.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Bloody good. Really nice.
- 10:41Speaker 6: I'm very glad to hear that.
- 10:43Speaker 3: It's very much like a roadie hand out the window
- 10:45Speaker 3: sort of a tune, isn't it? Sort of a bit
- 10:46Speaker 3: more moody. We ask for your thoughts on 3483. Shocking pugs.
- 10:51Speaker 6: I expect better from you. That's really good stuff. Another
- 10:54Speaker 6: one here, Get Off The Grass Pugs.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Get Off The Grass, haven't heard that for a while.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Get Off The Grass.
- 10:58Speaker 5: Get Off The Grass.
- 10:59Speaker 4: That was huge, huge in the 80s. Have you had
- 11:01Speaker 4: that in your lifetime, Get Off The Grass?
- 11:03Speaker 6: I mean, yes, but not as prominently as what I
- 11:06Speaker 6: think it would have been.
- 11:07Speaker 4: In the 80s, it was a bit like Get Off
- 11:08Speaker 4: The Grass.
- 11:08Speaker 1: It didn't have a hold on us, but.
- 11:09Speaker 6: You'd hear it every now and then. Yeah, right. I
- 11:12Speaker 6: was liking the tune before the scream made me shit
- 11:14Speaker 6: my pants.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Studio B said the same thing. And what the hell
- 11:18Speaker 3: was that crap? So really good feedback.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Shane loved it.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah. On 3483.
- 11:23Speaker 3: And that was songs from bands that I like. Now,
- 11:25Speaker 3: just a reminder for you listening, that Roar of the
- 11:28Speaker 3: Encore for Gigalittle could go off at any time.
- 11:30Speaker 4: It might.
- 11:32Speaker 6: And I do hear it could happen on this show today.
- 11:34Speaker 6: In fact, I've heard that it will. So you need
- 11:36Speaker 6: to keep your phone on you.
- 11:36Speaker 4: It absolutely is going to be happening today.
- 11:38Speaker 3: That's your chance to win $ 250 to go towards any gig, festival,
- 11:43Speaker 3: or concert of your choice thanks to our mates at
- 11:44Speaker 3: Super Liquor.
- 11:45Speaker 6: When you hear it, give us a buzz on 0800 Hauraki.
- 11:48Speaker 6: You can win that cash. Cheers to gigs. Cheers to
- 11:50Speaker 6: Super Liquor.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Now, on the way after 5.30, we might get into
- 11:55Speaker 3: some more jeans and jandal chat, plus we have some
- 11:57Speaker 3: TV chat on the Hauraki Big Show.
- 11:59Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 12:09Speaker 3: That's right, you're here with Pugs and Mogi on the
- 12:11Speaker 3: Hauraki Bigs show. Horty Jane Kesey back on Monday, but
- 12:15Speaker 3: it's time to hear a little bit from them as
- 12:17Speaker 3: I've got a best bit, Mogi.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 3: But diving into the archives, this one here from 2024,
- 12:22Speaker 3: so two years ago, around about this time of the year,
- 12:25Speaker 3: when Kesey discovered something about his wife that he didn't
- 12:28Speaker 3: quite like, particularly something to do with her preference in men.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I know this.
- 12:33Speaker 6: You remember this one?
- 12:34Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Now, something happened to me today. involving my wife, which...
- 12:38Speaker 1: My wife. Well, it didn't knock me for six or anything.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I was just surprised. What about a four through the covers? Ah, no.
- 12:46Speaker 1: It was probably a two, to be honest.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, probably just two runs.
- 12:50Speaker 7: Like a thick edge down through gully.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, right.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Jason, that's exactly what it was.
- 12:54Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, nice.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And so... I was just at home moping around.
- 12:59Speaker 4: That sounds about right.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Because I had to do my GST and I couldn't
- 13:02Speaker 1: be bothered.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Oh, God, yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And so I was basically finding any excuse to slack
- 13:06Speaker 1: off by annoying my wife who was working from home.
- 13:07Speaker 1: And then we were talking for some reason about balding,
- 13:11Speaker 1: because obviously, Mike, you wear a hair hat, so you
- 13:13Speaker 1: could probably relate to this.
- 13:14Speaker 4: I do. I've got a wig on, yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Wow.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Hat.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a hat.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 1: A weave.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 13:20Speaker 1: And my wife, because I was like, look, if I was- My.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Wife.
- 13:24Speaker 7: My wife.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I was like to my wife, if I was bald.
- 13:32Speaker 4: When you're bald. You'd be sweet with that, eh?
- 13:33Speaker 1: And she was just like, yeah. To be honest, I
- 13:36Speaker 1: like older, bald men. And I was like, what? Hang on, what?
- 13:40Speaker 4: Why did you put the older in there? That's confusing.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Because she was thinking the older a guy is, if
- 13:45Speaker 1: they're bald. No, you just associate bald with older.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 13:49Speaker 1: So she's talking like a guy, like, you know, maybe
- 13:51Speaker 1: in his 40s, 50s. It's just a massive turn on
- 13:53Speaker 1: for her. She didn't say it like that, Mike.
- 13:56Speaker 7: Right.
- 13:56Speaker 1: She just, and I was just shocked.
- 13:57Speaker 7: She didn't say it like that.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Guys.
- 14:01Speaker 1: She didn't say it like that. And then I was like, oh, really?
- 14:04Speaker 1: So they're like, who's a hot old bald guy that
- 14:06Speaker 1: you like? Because the only other person she's ever admitted
- 14:09Speaker 1: to liking was the host of Grand Designs.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Which one?
- 14:12Speaker 1: New Zealand.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Oh, God.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Not the old bald guy on the British one. But
- 14:16Speaker 1: now I'm starting to think.
- 14:17Speaker 8: First and foremost, Keezy, I'm looking at your luxurious bangs,
- 14:22Speaker 8: and I don't think you're going to be going bald
- 14:26Speaker 8: anytime soon.
- 14:26Speaker 7: But there is, and I don't know if it's... Has
- 14:28Speaker 7: your mother.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Got a thick head here to hear? Mon.
- 14:31Speaker 5: Mon. Yeah.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Yeah. Okay, her brothers, how are they looking?
- 14:34Speaker 1: They're all great.
- 14:35Speaker 4: And Don as well. Well, it comes from your mother's side. Yes. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 8: I've got a luxurious mane too, as you fellas know,
- 14:42Speaker 8: and you've got your hair hat.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Oh, because your mum's bald. My mum's got, yeah, she's
- 14:45Speaker 4: got no hair at all.
- 14:46Speaker 8: But there is this, and I don't know if it's
- 14:47Speaker 8: myth or truth, that balding men or bald men are
- 14:51Speaker 8: much more virile.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
- 14:53Speaker 7: Sexually powerful and potent.
- 14:55Speaker 4: And I think women can sense that.
- 14:57Speaker 7: Yes.
- 14:58Speaker 4: You know, certainly before I got my hair hat. I mean,
- 15:01Speaker 4: it was just, I was swatting them off.
- 15:03Speaker 7: Yes.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Just slightly, just slightly, just a little swat.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Just tapping them like that, yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Stop it.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 15:10Speaker 1: That must have been really annoying for you, Mike. I'm
- 15:11Speaker 1: sorry you had to go through that.
- 15:12Speaker 4: It's all right, man.
- 15:14Speaker 1: And so I was shocked because I'm not bald. And
- 15:16Speaker 1: then she even described this one guy. She used to
- 15:18Speaker 1: work in another city. There was this one guy who
- 15:21Speaker 1: worked at this place. And I told my workmates that
- 15:23Speaker 1: he was actually quite good looking. And they all thought
- 15:25Speaker 1: it was hilarious because he was like 20, 30 years
- 15:28Speaker 1: older than her.
- 15:29Speaker 8: Right.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And bald.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Wow.
- 15:30Speaker 1: And then the workmates told the guy and then he
- 15:32Speaker 1: was stoked.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I bet.
- 15:33Speaker 4: You know?
- 15:33Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yeah. So I was just, I don't know. It just
- 15:36Speaker 1: threw me off because the people who she was describing
- 15:38Speaker 1: looked nothing like me.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Yeah, that's pretty kinky. But that is certain. I think
- 15:43Speaker 4: women are attracted to that because my understanding is the
- 15:48Speaker 4: testosterone is pumping.
- 15:50Speaker 7: Isn't that true, though?
- 15:51Speaker 4: Pumping through the veins. Well, that's pumping through me. There's
- 15:54Speaker 4: an inhibitor, some kind of inhibitor from the testosterone that stops,
- 15:59Speaker 4: that attacks the hair follicles or something like that. We
- 16:01Speaker 4: can give it a Dr. Google fingers during the break, but... Yeah,
- 16:05Speaker 4: there's an animal attraction. When a woman sees a bald dude,
- 16:08Speaker 4: they think, sign me up.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Right, that sounds like some positive PR that bald dudes
- 16:13Speaker 1: have created.
- 16:13Speaker 8: Well, let's put it out there. Let's put it out
- 16:15Speaker 8: there on 3483. Are bald men more virile than Randy?
- 16:21Speaker 1: That's right, text us 3483.
- 16:24Speaker 4: And also, how hot do you find bald men if
- 16:28Speaker 4: you're a lady? Or if you're a man.
- 16:30Speaker 7: Yeah, jerks.
- 16:31Speaker 3: That one there from the archive of The Big Show
- 16:34Speaker 3: in 2024. Keezy finding out that his wife loves bald dudes.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Just any dude that doesn't look like him.
- 16:41Speaker 6: Yeah, that's about right.
- 16:42Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Look, if you want to hear every single show that
- 16:46Speaker 3: The Big Show's ever done, you can do that. Just
- 16:48Speaker 3: search Hodaki Big Show wherever you get your potties from.
- 16:51Speaker 3: In the meantime, we'll get into some tunes and up next,
- 16:54Speaker 3: some TV chat.
- 16:56Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays at.
- 17:00Speaker 2: 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 17:02Speaker 6: Time for a bit of TV chat.
- 17:05Speaker 7: What's on the telly with Mike Minogue.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Good stuff yeah man this isn't TV because I don't
- 17:20Speaker 4: watch any last night but what I went to over
- 17:22Speaker 4: the weekend was called it was an art installation cool
- 17:26Speaker 4: Movement of the Human Auckland Live and Tempo Dance Festival
- 17:30Speaker 4: present Toorua Toorua I think Toorua probably nice and this
- 17:38Speaker 4: was you went up to old Pitt Street there up
- 17:41Speaker 4: by K Road I know the one right outside the
- 17:45Speaker 4: new train station love it there and there was a
- 17:49Speaker 4: troupe of like nine dancers, and you put headphones on.
- 17:53Speaker 4: My daughter and I went up. You put headphones on,
- 17:56Speaker 4: and you followed this troupe, and they would be in
- 17:58Speaker 4: different parts. So you sort of walked around a corner.
- 18:02Speaker 4: They were there, and then this sort of three- to
- 18:04Speaker 4: five-minute dance sequence would begin. Cool. Then you'd follow it.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Then they'd go away, and then you'd follow them off.
- 18:10Speaker 4: There's a group of about 70 of you, 70 to
- 18:11Speaker 4: 80 people. Then you go around the corner and there'd
- 18:14Speaker 4: be another group, that same group would be there and
- 18:16Speaker 4: then it's across the road and then it's down through
- 18:18Speaker 4: that park by Horty J's joint. Yeah, it was bloody,
- 18:24Speaker 4: it was amazing and it made me slightly emotional to
- 18:27Speaker 4: begin with because it was these, you know, not interpretive
- 18:31Speaker 4: dance but contemporary dance, all sorts of different styles. There
- 18:36Speaker 4: was like a Chinese guy who was doing sort of Shaolin-y,
- 18:40Speaker 4: that sort of circus style dance of dance, an acrobatic
- 18:45Speaker 4: sort of style. But all sorts of, you know, creeds
- 18:48Speaker 4: and cultures were represented there. And all in their 20s,
- 18:52Speaker 4: and I just love it. It's just one of those
- 18:54Speaker 4: things that really inspires me and blows me away. When
- 18:56Speaker 4: you get a bunch of people, they're in their 20s,
- 18:58Speaker 4: you know, you could be doing anything. You could have
- 19:01Speaker 4: become a lawyer or whatever you like, but you've got
- 19:03Speaker 4: this brand new body. You've been released from your parents.
- 19:06Speaker 4: You're working out the world. You've got something inside of you.
- 19:09Speaker 4: You and a bunch of your mates worked really, really
- 19:12Speaker 4: hard on putting something together. And God knows how long
- 19:14Speaker 4: this took. And then you put it on for other
- 19:17Speaker 4: people to sort of make them feel something. And it
- 19:22Speaker 4: was absolutely amazing. And that's the beauty of the arts
- 19:25Speaker 4: is it lives inside of you. And people don't do
- 19:28Speaker 4: it because it pays well. They do it because it's
- 19:32Speaker 4: part of the human experience. And it's a way to communicate.
- 19:36Speaker 4: that isn't just language-based. And that's painting and sculpture and
- 19:39Speaker 4: music and comedy and film and television and theatre and
- 19:43Speaker 4: all of these different things, which we don't fund well
- 19:46Speaker 4: enough at all in this country. So to see this
- 19:48Speaker 4: that was put on for free... it was absolutely brilliant.
- 19:52Speaker 4: It was inspirational. I absolutely loved it. I actually wanted
- 19:55Speaker 4: to get somebody in here and have a yarn to
- 19:57Speaker 4: them about it. Maybe we can do that another day.
- 19:59Speaker 4: But absolutely loved it. It was called Movement of the Human,
- 20:02Speaker 4: presented by Auckland Live and Tempo Dance Festival. Look it up.
- 20:08Speaker 4: They're doing a whole bunch of other things from what
- 20:09Speaker 4: I can understand. Absolutely brilliant. Five boozies out of a
- 20:12Speaker 4: possible five boozies.
- 20:14Speaker 6: Can I ask how you heard about that?
- 20:16Speaker 4: Well, I'm hopeless. And so my wife was away and
- 20:19Speaker 4: then she extended her stay away but sent our daughter
- 20:22Speaker 4: back because my daughter missed my cat. Not me. Fair enough.
- 20:28Speaker 4: I want to be quite clear about that. I was like,
- 20:29Speaker 4: is that right? Get the cat to pick you up
- 20:31Speaker 4: from the airport.
- 20:32Speaker 6: Bird shit Chris.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Bird shit Chris. Anyway, so she said, oh, I've got
- 20:36Speaker 4: these tickets. You should go along. So how I found
- 20:39Speaker 4: out about it was my wife gave me the tickets.
- 20:41Speaker 6: What's on the arts with old Mogi? Beautifully said, man.
- 20:43Speaker 4: Bloody good.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Hard to follow that, but I did watch TV, and
- 20:49Speaker 3: I finally had the emotional energy to continue with East
- 20:51Speaker 3: of Eden.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Oh, good.
- 20:53Speaker 6: So now I've got half an episode left.
- 20:56Speaker 4: So I'm halfway through the finale. What do you mean?
- 20:59Speaker 1: How do you do that?
- 20:59Speaker 6: Well, I was knackered, man. And you'll hear me out
- 21:03Speaker 6: when I say this.
- 21:05Speaker 3: The way that it captured me in the first three,
- 21:08Speaker 3: it's not holding me in the same way.
- 21:10Speaker 4: No, is it not?
- 21:11Speaker 6: And I'm not going to spoil anything because you are
- 21:13Speaker 6: waiting to watch.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't even want to hear that.
- 21:15Speaker 3: So that's all I'll say. But still really, really enjoying
- 21:19Speaker 3: the show at the moment. Four and a half buzzies
- 21:21Speaker 3: out of a possible five. That's on Netflix. And I'll
- 21:24Speaker 3: have something more to talk about tomorrow because I'm going
- 21:26Speaker 3: to the movies tonight with my best mate to see
- 21:28Speaker 3: Resident Evil because.
- 21:29Speaker 6: I froth that shit.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Bloody beautiful.
- 21:33Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 21:37Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 21:40Speaker 4: You're listening to the sultry sounds of Wokeboy and the
- 21:45Speaker 4: truth on Radio Hauraki. New one. Is it a new one?
- 21:53Speaker 6: No, that was in the original line-up. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:55Speaker 3: So it's Mogi and Pugs here. Hootie Jane Keezy back
- 21:58Speaker 3: on Monday. So it's Wokeboy and the truth. And that
- 22:01Speaker 3: is brought to you by our good mates.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Over at Reburger.
- 22:05Speaker 7: Scrumdiddlyumptious.
- 22:07Speaker 6: I actually have news for you.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 22:09Speaker 3: You might remember a couple of days ago I had
- 22:11Speaker 3: that yarn about an audition, my first audition.
- 22:13Speaker 6: I do. So I had the callback.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Yes.
- 22:16Speaker 3: And I got a text yesterday, and I thought the
- 22:17Speaker 3: wording was really, really, it was quite sweet.
- 22:20Speaker 6: They said, you have been released.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Released.
- 22:23Speaker 6: You've been released from this.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Yes.
- 22:25Speaker 3: This audition, which basically means I didn't get the bloody part.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Well, because you get put on hold.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Yes, for those film dates.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. When you're shortlisted, you've been put on hold.
- 22:38Speaker 4: So you're in the running at that point. So you've
- 22:41Speaker 4: been put on hold.
- 22:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:42Speaker 4: And now you've been released.
- 22:44Speaker 6: I've been released back into the acting world, man. I'm
- 22:46Speaker 6: ready for my next audition.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Not bad, though, man. You got a callback your first
- 22:49Speaker 4: time around. Pretty good. Honestly, I was pretty stoked.
- 22:51Speaker 3: And obviously, when I got the callback, I was like,
- 22:56Speaker 3: It made it more real and then I actually got
- 22:58Speaker 3: excited to maybe potentially get the part. But I knew
- 23:01Speaker 3: that I was never going to be hurt no matter
- 23:03Speaker 3: what because I was like, well, it's my first one.
- 23:04Speaker 3: I barely knew what I was doing in the room.
- 23:06Speaker 3: So it was a bloody pleasure regardless. Hey, heaps on
- 23:10Speaker 3: the way for Workboy and the Truth this hour. The
- 23:12Speaker 3: cuter call for Giga Little is going to happen this hour.
- 23:15Speaker 6: Some have said in the next half an hour.
- 23:18Speaker 3: And also we have Troy Van Leeuwen, the guitarist from
- 23:22Speaker 3: Queens of, well, multi-instrumentalist from Queens of the Stone Age,
- 23:25Speaker 3: joining us down the line right here.
- 23:28Speaker 6: So hang around for it. In the meantime, let's get
- 23:30Speaker 6: back to the tunes.
- 23:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:35Speaker 6: Who are these guys, man?
- 23:36Speaker 4: Crank it, man. Crank it.
- 23:37Speaker 6: It's the big show.
- 23:39Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 23:43Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 23:45Speaker 6: That's a real Hori Jase special there.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Snow Patrol on the Hauraki Big Show with Pugs and Mogi.
- 23:50Speaker 6: Mogi, it was a big birthday for you yesterday, man.
- 23:53Speaker 4: It was, man. I had my 50th there. I was
- 23:55Speaker 4: a bit all over the show, to be honest with you.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I had an absolutely horrendous sleep due to the tui
- 24:00Speaker 4: that lives in a tree outside of my bedroom. And
- 24:02Speaker 4: that sort of put me on the back foot for
- 24:04Speaker 4: the vast majority of the day. And then last night, though,
- 24:07Speaker 4: I went out for a birthday dinner.
- 24:10Speaker 6: And you were going to maybe have a margarita or something?
- 24:13Speaker 4: Well, I'll tell you what I had, man. It was
- 24:14Speaker 4: quite good. So it was me and my brother Luke there.
- 24:16Speaker 6: He's a ledge.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Took my daughter out and then caught up with another mate, John. Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 4: John's a fan of the margaritas. He likes margaritas. So
- 24:26Speaker 4: we went out and we went to a local bar there.
- 24:29Speaker 4: You spent a bit of time at that bar.
- 24:30Speaker 6: Oh, you're nice.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Up the hill there.
- 24:32Speaker 6: I know the one.
- 24:32Speaker 4: And got a margarita there. And then there was nothing
- 24:37Speaker 4: doing because it was a Tuesday and it's New Zealand.
- 24:40Speaker 4: And Tuesdays in New Zealand, there's nothing doing. That's just
- 24:42Speaker 4: a blanket rule.
- 24:43Speaker 6: Unless it's like an absolute stonker of a day.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 6: But it was fine.
- 24:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it was, yeah. She was pretty dull. So went
- 24:51Speaker 4: back to my place.
- 24:53Speaker 8: Nice.
- 24:54Speaker 4: So dinner was that margarita. Then I put my daughter
- 24:56Speaker 4: to bed. Yep. She ate. And then had, well, my brother,
- 25:02Speaker 4: he's not really drinking at the moment, right? What? So
- 25:05Speaker 4: me and John there had a bottle of wine.
- 25:08Speaker 6: Lovely.
- 25:09Speaker 4: And then a few beers.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Oh, right-o.
- 25:15Speaker 4: And a few durries.
- 25:17Speaker 6: Indoors?
- 25:18Speaker 4: No, not indoors this time. Right, good. And a couple
- 25:23Speaker 4: of sort of tinned margaritas and that.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Right, so you really undersold that, but now you didn't
- 25:29Speaker 3: know it was going to go that way, but you
- 25:31Speaker 3: could have anticipated it was your birthday.
- 25:32Speaker 7: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:33Speaker 1: So you had every right.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Well, I knew because my mate John was coming.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:37Speaker 4: And he is what I call in the business... A
- 25:39Speaker 4: shock and burst.
- 25:40Speaker 5: A shock and burst.
- 25:41Speaker 4: And that was it. And not a single morsel of
- 25:44Speaker 4: food passed my lips.
- 25:46Speaker 6: So you just ate piss.
- 25:48Speaker 5: I did.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I didn't ease any of that. I can't remember what
- 25:50Speaker 4: I ate yesterday, but it was nothing. But I played
- 25:53Speaker 4: a bit of cards, listened to some tunes, and bed
- 25:56Speaker 4: by about 10.
- 25:58Speaker 6: You know what, man? That is a bloody beautiful evening out.
- 26:01Speaker 6: Pretty good.
- 26:02Speaker 3: And I'm glad that you did some celebrating because I
- 26:03Speaker 3: know you were knackered and it sounded like you were
- 26:06Speaker 3: going to have a chill one when you headed out
- 26:07Speaker 3: of here, but I'm glad that you got stuck in
- 26:09Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 26:09Speaker 6: And obviously you're going to get more stuck in this
- 26:11Speaker 6: coming weekend. You're away Friday.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm away Friday. The Misses is back tomorrow. And, yeah, man,
- 26:18Speaker 4: we've got Bakba League tomorrow night.
- 26:20Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Yeah, Bakba League. So the opening of the Rugby League
- 26:23Speaker 4: World Cup is on. I've got to be careful because
- 26:26Speaker 4: I want to make a bit of a day of
- 26:28Speaker 4: it on the Friday, but the rugby league's on it
- 26:30Speaker 4: from 10 till midnight.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Oh, dear.
- 26:32Speaker 4: You know, what am I doing? Am I going to
- 26:34Speaker 4: not drink?
- 26:36Speaker 6: I don't think you're going to not drink.
- 26:37Speaker 4: I don't think I'm going to not drink.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Can I also say, the fact that you're just telling
- 26:40Speaker 3: me this now live on air, I'm really.
- 26:42Speaker 6: Impressed with how you are.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Oh, I'm very impressed.
- 26:45Speaker 6: Given how you've been going.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 26:46Speaker 6: And the fact that you had no dinner.
- 26:48Speaker 4: No, it was good as God. It was like a
- 26:50Speaker 4: bottle of wine, a few mugs. A couple of beers there,
- 26:55Speaker 4: and that was us, you know?
- 26:56Speaker 6: Good on you.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Yeah, really good.
- 26:57Speaker 6: I'm bloody stoked. Well, that's how you do 50. Happy birthday, Logan.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Thanks, man.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Here's some oasis in the Hauraki Big Show.
- 27:06Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike, and Keezy.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays.
- 27:10Speaker 2: At 4 on Radio Hauraki. gig a little on Radio Hauraki.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Let's see who wants to hear the roar of the encore.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Cheers to Super Liquor.
- 27:22Speaker 3: That's right, we've got $ 10, 000 to give away across this
- 27:25Speaker 3: month and that's being divvied up into $ 250 slices.
- 27:29Speaker 6: A real nice wedge. A real nice dollop of cash.
- 27:32Speaker 4: It's a huge dollop of cash, isn't it?
- 27:33Speaker 3: And that's to go towards any gig, festy, concert of
- 27:36Speaker 3: your choice. All you have to do is listen out
- 27:38Speaker 3: for that roar of the encore that played before and
- 27:40Speaker 3: give us a buzz on 0800 Hauraki and that.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Cash could be yours.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Let's head on over to the phone lines here. G'day, Dave,
- 27:49Speaker 3: you mad bastard.
- 27:50Speaker 4: How you going?
- 27:52Speaker 1: I'm bloody awesome.
- 27:53Speaker 7: How you guys going?
- 27:54Speaker 5: Yeah, not bad.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Going pretty grouse, mate. What do you do for a crust,
- 27:57Speaker 4: you sicko?
- 27:58Speaker 7: I'm sales for a steel company. Oh, how good.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Backbone.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Flying out the door?
- 28:04Speaker 3: Always, mate, always.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Good on you.
- 28:06Speaker 6: That's good stuff, Dave.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Now, what kind of gigs are you in the market for, Dave?
- 28:10Speaker 3: What kind of tunes do you get into?
- 28:13Speaker 1: After the line-up announced yesterday, team for homegrown in Hamilton.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Woo-hee. Yeah, how good, man. She's an absolute whopper, eh?
- 28:22Speaker 5: Oh, huge mound.
- 28:22Speaker 1: It's going to be awesome.
- 28:24Speaker 6: Who are you looking forward to playing there? I haven't
- 28:26Speaker 6: actually looked at the line-up.
- 28:28Speaker 7: Cora, Devil's going to be in the top two, but
- 28:31Speaker 7: then you've got Shape Shifter of all sorts.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Shape Moo, yeah.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Fat Free's dropped. Oh, actually. Gin Wigmore, Op Shop, the
- 28:38Speaker 4: exponents Troy Kingey, Savage, LMNOP, No Cigar. Absolutely massive, Tiki Tane. Yeah,
- 28:46Speaker 4: she is a big one. It's been a big day.
- 28:49Speaker 6: Pretty bloody unreal, mate. Who would you take with you?
- 28:51Speaker 5: Definitely go with my wife again, like we did last year.
- 28:56Speaker 6: Oh, that's good stuff, mate.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Well, I tell you what, Dave, that $ 250 cash, all yours, mate.
- 29:02Speaker 8: Oh, bloody legends. Thanks very much, guys.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Good on you, mate.
- 29:04Speaker 6: No worries, man. You stay on the line there. I'll
- 29:07Speaker 6: chuck you on hold. We'll get you over to old Dillian.
- 29:09Speaker 6: He'll hand you that cash personally. Thanks, Dave.
- 29:13Speaker 7: Cheers, guys.
- 29:14Speaker 6: Bloody good.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Now, that's all thanks to our good mates at Super
- 29:17Speaker 3: Liquor who are putting this on with us.
- 29:19Speaker 6: Cheers to gigs and cheers to Super Liquor. Now, after 5.30, Troy.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Van Leeuwen, the guitarist and multi-instrumentalist from Queens of the
- 29:27Speaker 3: Stone Age, is going to be on the line with us.
- 29:31Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 29:35Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 29:37Speaker 6: Yeah, welcome back, you absolute backbones.
- 29:39Speaker 4: It is the Hauraki.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Big Show with Pugs and Mogi. Hori J and Keezy
- 29:43Speaker 3: are back on Monday. But as always, it's brought to
- 29:46Speaker 3: you by the good folks making the crave-worthy street food
- 29:49Speaker 3: fresh over at Reburger.
- 29:50Speaker 7: Reburger.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Your dinner plans tonight in Mogus.
- 29:58Speaker 4: I was thinking about that. I was thinking about making
- 30:01Speaker 4: a Tom Yum. But I'm probably going to be a
- 30:05Speaker 4: little bit pressed for time. So I'm not too sure
- 30:07Speaker 4: because I've got to cook for the kiddo there. Although
- 30:09Speaker 4: that shouldn't take long. Probably that. I'll go with that.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Tofu.
- 30:11Speaker 6: I don't think I've ever made a Tom Yum.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Oh, easy.
- 30:14Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 30:14Speaker 4: Easy, delicious.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Well, if you have a recipe, I mean, that's one
- 30:17Speaker 3: of my partner's favourite dishes to get when we go
- 30:20Speaker 3: out to eat.
- 30:20Speaker 6: Yeah, when we go to get Asian food.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Check it in the Google, mate. She's an absolute doddle.
- 30:25Speaker 8: Beauty.
- 30:26Speaker 3: I am going to the movies straight after the show.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 30:29Speaker 3: I've got it cut up pretty fine there. And I
- 30:31Speaker 3: have pre-ordered. You know how you can pre-order food now
- 30:34Speaker 3: when you order your movie tickets? It cost me a
- 30:36Speaker 3: bajillion dollars, just by the way, to get two movie tickets,
- 30:40Speaker 3: one for.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Me and one for a mate.
- 30:41Speaker 3: Oh!
- 30:41Speaker 4: 25 each?
- 30:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Insane. But I got us a ticket each and
- 30:48Speaker 3: I pre-ordered a garlic bread. Just for us to share.
- 30:51Speaker 4: A garlic bread.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Well, it was either that.
- 30:53Speaker 6: They had pizza and I was kind of excited.
- 30:54Speaker 4: How are you going to hook into each other when
- 30:55Speaker 4: you've been sucking on garlic bread?
- 30:57Speaker 3: Well, at least we'll both have the same amount of
- 30:59Speaker 3: garlic to be tucking into.
- 31:01Speaker 6: You know what I mean? I think it'll be kind
- 31:03Speaker 6: of hot and stinky.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Yeah, it will be.
- 31:05Speaker 6: Plenty on the way this hour. We're going to have
- 31:07Speaker 6: our poll results. Jeans or jandals? Yes or no?
- 31:09Speaker 3: Send some more feedback through on 3483. And we're going
- 31:12Speaker 3: to dive back into the Big Show Archives.
- 31:14Speaker 6: But in the meantime, here's some butthole surfers.
- 31:17Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 31:20Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Link in park on the Hauraki Big Show. You've got
- 31:26Speaker 3: Pugs and Mogi with you. And it's time for a
- 31:28Speaker 3: results check-in with our Hauraki Big Show Big Pole.
- 31:31Speaker 7: The Big Pole.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Now, this is an issue that we have discussed previously
- 31:45Speaker 3: on The Big Show, and it's regarding a staple, well,
- 31:47Speaker 3: one of Mogi's staple looks from your wardrobe here, jeans
- 31:52Speaker 3: with jandals.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Jeans with jandals, yeah.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I've been wearing it forever.
- 31:55Speaker 4: In particular, yeah, I just don't see any issue with
- 31:58Speaker 4: it whatsoever, but every now and again I run into
- 32:00Speaker 4: a hater like Pugs, which is, you know, you've got
- 32:06Speaker 4: a goddamn cheek. You're talking to me about a contrast
- 32:11Speaker 4: of styles, and you've got shorts and loafers on, business loafers.
- 32:16Speaker 3: And the shorts are really long for shorts as well.
- 32:19Speaker 3: And you also hate the sock look as well.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I just don't. It is one of those things,
- 32:25Speaker 4: and it's not that I do hate it, yes, but
- 32:29Speaker 4: I accept that there's probably no other– Yes. It just
- 32:33Speaker 4: is what it is.
- 32:34Speaker 8: Yes.
- 32:34Speaker 4: And it's so weird because you're in summer. You've got
- 32:36Speaker 4: shoes and you've got socks. And so now you've got
- 32:38Speaker 4: a big white sock on your leg every time you
- 32:40Speaker 4: go for a swim. It seems insane to me.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Yes.
- 32:43Speaker 4: That you would do that. Because I spend as much
- 32:45Speaker 4: time as possible as I can swimming at a beach
- 32:49Speaker 4: or wherever it might be. And the idea that you
- 32:50Speaker 4: would spend your whole week with your socks pulled halfway
- 32:53Speaker 4: up your leg. It's just madness. It's insane.
- 32:57Speaker 1: It's insane to you.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I understand that. And the people had their say on 3483. Obviously,
- 33:01Speaker 3: the votes came through on the Hauraki Big Show Instagram story.
- 33:04Speaker 3: But someone here said yes to jeans with chandles, but
- 33:08Speaker 3: only if I'm also wearing.
- 33:09Speaker 4: A leather or vinyl jacket. Yeah, good.
- 33:11Speaker 1: That's from Butch.
- 33:12Speaker 4: That's from Butch. That is a Butch look.
- 33:15Speaker 3: And I also made a comment that the kind of
- 33:17Speaker 3: people that wear jandals with jeans are people from Lower Hutt,
- 33:20Speaker 3: where I'm from, maybe when they're taking the bins out.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Someone here, Cody texted in, I'm a Hutt mutt slut
- 33:25Speaker 3: for a solid jean and jandal combo.
- 33:29Speaker 4: This one here is good.
- 33:30Speaker 6: Jeans and jandals are great if you look like Minogue.
- 33:33Speaker 4: I think that's important here.
- 33:35Speaker 6: Um, I think there's a lot of people out there
- 33:36Speaker 6: that wouldn't get away with it in the way that
- 33:38Speaker 6: you do.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Do I get away with it?
- 33:40Speaker 3: Well, you're still not getting away with it, but you're
- 33:42Speaker 3: getting away with it a hell of a lot more
- 33:44Speaker 3: than some people would.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Okay. Yes.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Um, so let's go to the, some results here. Uh,
- 33:49Speaker 3: let me say this. It's been bloody close from the
- 33:51Speaker 3: minute we put the story up. Right.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Am I guessing?
- 33:55Speaker 6: Do you want to have a, yeah.
- 33:56Speaker 4: I think it's 60, 40 my way ish. I think
- 33:59Speaker 4: it's a pretty, I think it's pretty, yeah, I think
- 34:01Speaker 4: pretty split, but, um, Sure, I just think our Hutt
- 34:05Speaker 4: voters will get me over the line here because this
- 34:08Speaker 4: was meant to be a binding referendum, of course.
- 34:10Speaker 6: How's this?
- 34:11Speaker 5: 51%.
- 34:11Speaker 6: Jeans with jandals?
- 34:16Speaker 4: Yes. Hey!
- 34:17Speaker 1: So you're over the line.
- 34:19Speaker 4: Binding referendum. 1% binding referendum.
- 34:22Speaker 3: We have to shut the F up about jeans with jandals. Mogi,
- 34:25Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to seeing some of that as we
- 34:27Speaker 3: get further and further into spring. You can still get
- 34:29Speaker 3: a vote in, by the way. The poll will be
- 34:31Speaker 3: up for the next 24 hours on the Hauraki Big
- 34:32Speaker 3: Show Insta story, along with heaps of other great stuff.
- 34:36Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 34:40Speaker 3: It's Franz Ferdinand on the Hauraki Big Show. You've got
- 34:43Speaker 3: Pugs and Mogi with you. And we're on a massive
- 34:47Speaker 3: mish during this time that we're on.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Yes.
- 34:50Speaker 3: And that is to make sure that whoever you are,
- 34:53Speaker 3: wherever you are, and whoever you're doing it for, Get
- 34:55Speaker 3: out there and vote. Make sure you are enrolled first
- 34:59Speaker 3: and then actually vote.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely. It's a really, it's an important one. And
- 35:03Speaker 4: it's not, you know, it's not left wing or right
- 35:05Speaker 4: wing or anything else. It's just simply enroll and vote.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Don't care who you do it for. There's just a
- 35:11Speaker 4: huge amount, a couple hundred thousand people between the ages
- 35:14Speaker 4: of 18 and 24 don't vote. It's the sort of thing,
- 35:17Speaker 4: I guess, that people don't engage with. But hopefully it's
- 35:20Speaker 4: the sort of thing that people will more and more,
- 35:21Speaker 4: you know, And I use the French as an example.
- 35:26Speaker 4: The politics is so ingrained in their society from such
- 35:28Speaker 4: a young age. So massive protests going on over there
- 35:31Speaker 4: at the moment from teenagers.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Right.
- 35:34Speaker 4: So teenagers in France rioting in the streets and protesting
- 35:38Speaker 4: the cuts that have been made to education. Right. Because
- 35:40Speaker 4: they're the ones that are paying the price for bad education.
- 35:43Speaker 4: So they've got something along the lines of 80% of
- 35:45Speaker 4: all classrooms have got 30 students or 30 students at
- 35:49Speaker 4: least in it. And then the rest are 35 plus. Wow.
- 35:52Speaker 5: And these.
- 35:53Speaker 4: That's not abnormal for New Zealand at all. No students
- 35:59Speaker 4: would be protesting it in the streets, but that's how
- 36:01Speaker 4: seriously they take their public services over there, is that
- 36:04Speaker 4: these guys are actually out there battling the cops. Yeah,
- 36:08Speaker 4: on the streets. And saying, put more money into our education.
- 36:11Speaker 4: We deserve a better education. We deserve a better service. You,
- 36:14Speaker 4: the government, work for us and don't forget it. And
- 36:20Speaker 4: they love a riot over there. I've got so much
- 36:25Speaker 4: respect for a riot. The French, they take no shit.
- 36:29Speaker 4: It's absolutely unbelievable. And so, look, you know, if you've
- 36:33Speaker 4: got something to moan about, and who doesn't, you know,
- 36:36Speaker 4: the best possible thing that you can do is get
- 36:38Speaker 4: out there and roll and vote.
- 36:40Speaker 3: And have your say, yeah, 100%, whether it's, the education
- 36:43Speaker 3: like Mogi was talking about in Aotearoa or whether it's
- 36:46Speaker 3: housing or whether it's mental health or the cost of
- 36:48Speaker 3: living or anything like that that matters to you, if
- 36:51Speaker 3: you've got an opinion on it and you want it
- 36:53Speaker 3: to actually matter, the way you do that is by
- 36:55Speaker 3: having your say.
- 36:56Speaker 4: And there's some really great resources out there as well
- 36:58Speaker 4: for that. So there's a website that you can go to,
- 37:00Speaker 4: which of course I can't tell you, But you can
- 37:02Speaker 4: go out there and you can sort of tick a
- 37:04Speaker 4: few boxes and it will tell you, you know, based
- 37:06Speaker 4: on what's important to you.
- 37:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:08Speaker 4: And it will tell you who you most align with.
- 37:10Speaker 6: Did it the other night.
- 37:11Speaker 4: And I can tell you it's a shock to a
- 37:12Speaker 4: lot of people.
- 37:15Speaker 6: I sat in the realm of where I thought I
- 37:17Speaker 6: would be.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:19Speaker 6: But I wasn't exactly where I thought it would be.
- 37:21Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:22Speaker 3: But it's very interesting to see nonetheless, and it did
- 37:24Speaker 3: make me go back and actually kind of check myself
- 37:26Speaker 3: and think about what matters to me when it comes
- 37:29Speaker 3: to the upcoming election.
- 37:31Speaker 6: So on a roll, it's a nonpartisan. They don't lean
- 37:35Speaker 6: any way.
- 37:36Speaker 3: It's just about getting young people enrolled and ready to
- 37:38Speaker 3: vote however they can. So that's onaroll.nz if you're a
- 37:43Speaker 3: young voter. But you can also go to vote.nz just
- 37:47Speaker 3: to check whether or not you're enrolled already in your
- 37:49Speaker 3: electorate or if you need to do that.
- 37:50Speaker 4: And it takes less than two minutes and then you're
- 37:52Speaker 4: in there and you can rip into it. There's only,
- 37:54Speaker 4: I think, a week or so to go before registrations close.
- 37:58Speaker 4: You cannot register and vote on the same day, so
- 38:00Speaker 4: get it done now. Piece of piss.
- 38:02Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 38:06Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 38:08Speaker 6: How good to hear No Cigar on Radio Hauraki. Do
- 38:11Speaker 6: you like that band?
- 38:11Speaker 7: Get it, didn't you?
- 38:12Speaker 6: They're good bastards.
- 38:13Speaker 3: I saw them play at Power Station and then they
- 38:15Speaker 3: invited me back to their place for an after party.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Oh, nice. It was unreal.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Anyway, sidebar, we're getting back into the Big Show archives
- 38:22Speaker 3: for another best bit.
- 38:23Speaker 6: Mogi, do you remember the worst job we've ever had?
- 38:25Speaker 4: Do I?
- 38:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Because mine's being a.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Security guard for that one shift, and it absolutely killed me,
- 38:31Speaker 3: and I was nearly in tears.
- 38:32Speaker 4: I've had some shit jobs, man, digging footings on building sites,
- 38:35Speaker 4: and fencing was all right. That was all right. Yeah,
- 38:40Speaker 4: all sorts of different things, but yeah, not as good
- 38:43Speaker 4: as this one.
- 38:43Speaker 6: That's what we were talking about two years ago, around
- 38:46Speaker 6: about this time of year.
- 38:47Speaker 4: I was reading the news today, and there's a story
- 38:51Speaker 4: in there about this mayor that's recently been sworn in,
- 38:56Speaker 4: won the popular vote, got sworn in, this is over
- 38:59Speaker 4: in Mexico, wins the popular vote, gets sworn in, starts
- 39:04Speaker 4: work on your Monday there, and then on Thursday got beheaded.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Wow.
- 39:09Speaker 4: And it sort of got me thinking, what's the worst
- 39:13Speaker 4: job you've ever had?
- 39:15Speaker 1: Beheaded, was it like by a gang or what was
- 39:17Speaker 1: the deal? We don't need to get into the Keezy's detail.
- 39:20Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 39:23Speaker 4: What's the worst job you've ever had, Jase?
- 39:25Speaker 7: Oh, look, that's really sad. I've had some shockers. I
- 39:28Speaker 7: made orthopaedic pads for a while. which involved burning rubber.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Did you make Keezy's shoes?
- 39:34Speaker 7: I may have made his shoes, actually.
- 39:36Speaker 8: But seriously, the worst job I ever had was stock
- 39:38Speaker 8: taking in this massive business that shall remain nameless. And
- 39:43Speaker 8: literally my job was to count ball bearings and And
- 39:47Speaker 8: screws and nails.
- 39:50Speaker 7: And there were.
- 39:50Speaker 4: What about nuts?
- 39:52Speaker 7: Oh, yeah, nuts. We're talking big boxes of the bastards.
- 39:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:56Speaker 7: And I literally.
- 39:58Speaker 8: And I look back on it now and I think
- 39:59Speaker 8: to myself, actually, was this person taking the piss?
- 40:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:03Speaker 7: Because it was ridiculous. You know, it'd be like.
- 40:05Speaker 8: 4,000 bull bearings.
- 40:09Speaker 1: On the dot. I think that's unlikely. I think you've
- 40:11Speaker 1: just made that number up.
- 40:12Speaker 7: Well, you know what I mean? Actually, I'll be honest
- 40:13Speaker 7: with you. I got to the point where I did
- 40:15Speaker 7: start making it up.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:17Speaker 7: I just started guesstimating, going, oh, let's just say... 5,432.
- 40:21Speaker 4: How old were you when this was going on?
- 40:25Speaker 7: About 13.
- 40:26Speaker 5: Yeah, good.
- 40:26Speaker 1: All right.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. My worst ever job, and to be honest,
- 40:30Speaker 1: I haven't had super terrible jobs. I'm very lucky. It
- 40:33Speaker 1: was probably my first ever job. I worked in, I
- 40:36Speaker 1: was 15, and I worked in the footwear department in
- 40:38Speaker 1: Rebel Sport.
- 40:40Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 1: And I had no footwear training. I had no idea.
- 40:43Speaker 4: How much training do you need?
- 40:44Speaker 1: Well, you're supposed to do like a two-day course thing
- 40:46Speaker 1: to learn how to recommend shoes to people.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Oh, right.
- 40:49Speaker 1: But I was like, nah, boring. And so literally I
- 40:51Speaker 1: was there.
- 40:52Speaker 4: It was an optional two-day course.
- 40:53Speaker 6: It was.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Wow.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Which is really stupid.
- 40:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 1: And all I was doing was the thumb thing. You
- 40:59Speaker 1: put your foot right back in the shoe and I
- 41:00Speaker 1: put my thumb. Yeah, thumb on the toe there.
- 41:02Speaker 4: That's right.
- 41:02Speaker 1: But apparently that's just for growing children. I did that
- 41:05Speaker 1: to everyone that came in and just recommended the most
- 41:07Speaker 1: expensive shoes.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Was that only for growing children? Apparently.
- 41:10Speaker 7: You used your thumb on them.
- 41:13Speaker 1: On the shoes, Jase.
- 41:14Speaker 7: Oh, on their shoes, yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 1: You know, you put the heel back. Don't put your
- 41:17Speaker 1: heel back in the shoe and you make sure there's
- 41:19Speaker 1: enough thumbs worth of space at the front there.
- 41:20Speaker 4: Oh, is that what it is? Yeah, maybe.
- 41:22Speaker 7: No one ever did that when I was buying shoes.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Oh, they always did that.
- 41:25Speaker 7: Oh, right.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:27Speaker 4: You always, yeah, your little tester there.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Maybe, I'm pretty sure it's for growing children. Maybe I'm
- 41:30Speaker 1: making that up.
- 41:31Speaker 3: 3483.
- 41:31Speaker 4: Well, you didn't do the course, so what do you know?
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I have no idea. That lasted six months.
- 41:36Speaker 7: Oh, my God. Seriously?
- 41:37Speaker 1: Yeah, six months. And I was just like, by the
- 41:40Speaker 1: end of it, I was like, I don't want to
- 41:41Speaker 1: work ever. I'll just stay at my parents' house forever
- 41:45Speaker 1: or do radio.
- 41:47Speaker 4: What about you, Margie? Probably this. Or I also did
- 41:55Speaker 4: furniture removal over in Australia in my mid-20s for four years.
- 42:00Speaker 7: Far out.
- 42:02Speaker 4: That's how you got that bloody build, though, eh? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:05Speaker 4: That's how I got this sweet back that I'm rocking. Sure.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Where it's really sore all the time.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Four years? Five days a week?
- 42:12Speaker 4: Six days a week.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Six days a week?
- 42:14Speaker 4: Four years. Holy cow. Absolute insanity.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but I was steamed most of the time, so
- 42:21Speaker 4: time just flies. when you're, frankly, irresponsibly steamed.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Not anymore, though.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Not now.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Nah, nah, nah, nah.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Back by now.
- 42:28Speaker 7: Yeah, for sure. Oh, that's interesting.
- 42:30Speaker 8: Hey, should we put it out there to the audience
- 42:33Speaker 8: on 3483?
- 42:34Speaker 7: What's the worst job you've ever had?
- 42:36Speaker 4: Three, four, eight, three.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Send it on through. You can win yourself a Tui
- 42:39Speaker 1: prize pack.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Can we get a talkback as well, for God's sake?
- 42:41Speaker 7: Can I ask, Keezy, just to clarify here, is this
- 42:44Speaker 7: vanilla radio?
- 42:45Speaker 1: No, it's not. No, it's not vanilla enough.
- 42:47Speaker 7: You sure?
- 42:48Speaker 8: No.
- 42:48Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I think the way that we kicked it off. Okay, yeah.
- 42:51Speaker 4: That took the vanilla out of it.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Yeah. But I'll let you know, Jase.
- 42:55Speaker 4: And Keezy's stuff about thumbing with the kids.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 43:00Speaker 1: I wasn't thumbing with kids. I was helping them.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Oh, you were using your thumb on them. Yeah.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I was thumbing kids. Yeah, let's just leave
- 43:07Speaker 1: it out there like that and then go to a
- 43:08Speaker 1: Bruce Springsteen song, yeah? That's a great idea.
- 43:12Speaker 6: Let us know what your worst job was, New Zealand.
- 43:14Speaker 6: We'll open that text line back up.
- 43:16Speaker 3: And don't forget, you can search for any show The
- 43:18Speaker 3: Big Show's ever done just by going, I recommend iHeartRadio,
- 43:22Speaker 3: but wherever you get your podcasts from, search Hauraki Big Show.
- 43:26Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 43:37Speaker 1: It's kind of addictive. A little bit of an earworm.
- 43:39Speaker 4: You like that? That is Woke Boy and the Truth
- 43:41Speaker 4: for your.
- 43:42Speaker 6: Oh, what is it, Wednesday? Yeah, Wednesday, mate.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Wow.
- 43:44Speaker 6: And you're off to see a movie.
- 43:46Speaker 4: I am....
- 44:01Speaker 3: Out the door, onto the City Rail Link. My mate
- 44:04Speaker 3: lives in Mount Wellington now, so I'm getting the City
- 44:06Speaker 3: Rail Link out to Sylvia Park there to go to
- 44:08Speaker 3: the movies. I'm going to see Resident Evil, which I'm really,
- 44:12Speaker 3: really excited about.
- 44:14Speaker 6: If you don't know, it's a game franchise.
- 44:16Speaker 3: It's been going since the 90s, one of the OG
- 44:20Speaker 3: zombie horror games. And it has continued on since then.
- 44:23Speaker 3: It's got a massive legacy. And Zach Krieger, the guy
- 44:25Speaker 3: who did Barbarian, and the guy that did Weapons, has
- 44:29Speaker 3: done this one. And even though it seems to be
- 44:31Speaker 3: a pivot from the original story of the games, it
- 44:33Speaker 3: has a lot of the same sort of stuff.
- 44:35Speaker 6: And it's apparently a great video game adaptation into a movie.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Bloody beautiful.
- 44:39Speaker 6: So I'm really excited.
- 44:40Speaker 3: And there'll be some laughs and some scares.
- 44:41Speaker 6: And I've got my garlic bread.
- 44:43Speaker 4: Yeah, man, how good's that?
- 44:44Speaker 6: My movie garlic bread. What are you up to tonight, man?
- 44:46Speaker 5: Go home.
- 44:47Speaker 4: I've got to run the kid... My daughter, she lost
- 44:52Speaker 4: the brush. She's got really curly hair, and the brush
- 44:55Speaker 4: got misplaced, so we couldn't brush her hair because it
- 44:57Speaker 4: ends in tears. Right. Because it gets so tangled and stuff.
- 45:01Speaker 4: So anyway, that's turned up. The wife is back tomorrow,
- 45:03Speaker 4: so I have to sort out my daughter's shambles of
- 45:07Speaker 4: her haircut. So yeah, that'll be tonight. it's going to
- 45:11Speaker 4: be an emotional rollercoaster.
- 45:12Speaker 6: I don't doubt it, mate.
- 45:14Speaker 3: But you've been listening to the Hauraki Big Show with
- 45:16Speaker 3: Pugs and Mogi, and if you want to hear the podcast,
- 45:19Speaker 3: including our chat with Troy Van Leeuwen from Queens of
- 45:22Speaker 3: the Stone Age, that is going to have its own
- 45:24Speaker 3: podcast out with the full show podcast, which is the
- 45:27Speaker 3: radio highlights, and then the disclaimer podcast, today's throwback is
- 45:31Speaker 3: this week in 2024. I think.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Okay.
- 45:35Speaker 3: So get around that. 7.30, wherever you get your potties.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Have a beautiful night. Mogi, see you later, mate.
- 45:39Speaker 5: Okay. Love you, bye.
