- 1:41about that. As many of you know, on my
- 1:46community page, if you go to the front of my YouTube channel, you
- 1:49can click on the Community tab. And I allow people to vote for
- 1:55different topics that I've thought of, things that I see,
- 1:59that people question or they wonder about.
- 2:03And I also throw up some very unusual stuff as well that other
- 2:07people are not talking about, just to see what it is my
- 2:11audience would like to hear about.
- 2:13The kind of videos or content that you want to listen to and
- 2:18one of the big. Things that people voted for on
- 2:22my prior surveys was why does God allow evil?
- 2:28Why does God allow suffering in the world?
- 2:33So I'm going to respond to that today, and I would also
- 2:37encourage all of you to check out my community page.
- 2:41That way you can kind of help direct where my YouTube channel
- 2:44goes. I'll throw up several topics and
- 2:48then you vote on the ones that you think would be interesting
- 2:50or that you want to know. And always feel free to put your
- 2:55own topics up there as well. You're able to leave a comment,
- 2:59say, Brad, I'd like to know about this.
- 3:01I'd like to know about that. And that's enough.
- 3:03People respond to you or I find that it's interesting.
- 3:07I will get around to making a video to you about it and as
- 3:12usual. If any of you want to make
- 3:14videos to me, you're more than welcome to post them to me
- 3:19directly, either in my comments or on my community page.
- 3:23Hell, And if I'm responding to your video, I'll let people know
- 3:27where your channel is and where the original questions came
- 3:30from, and then I'll attempt to answer it.
- 3:35As far as God allowing suffering and evil in the world, where
- 3:40does this question usually come from?
- 3:43They usually comes from sometimes Christians or people
- 3:46of faith who have had some problems, who've had some issues
- 3:51in their life. And they ask that question of,
- 3:56you know, if there's a loving God, then why does it seem like
- 3:59the world can be unfair sometimes?
- 4:02And that's a perfectly natural question to ask whether you
- 4:06believe in God or not. A lot of atheists ask the same
- 4:09question if there is a God. Then why is there so much pain
- 4:13and suffering? It's actually a perfectly
- 4:16natural question, but unfortunately, even whenever
- 4:19it's coming from some Christians as well as some atheists,
- 4:24sometimes it's not done in the most honest way either.
- 4:28See one thing I've. Learned in my life.
- 4:31Is if you really, truly want to deal with a problem.
- 4:34If you really feel like there's something wrong or you feel like
- 4:37there's a problem, then you need to find out the root source of
- 4:40it. You need to find out where is
- 4:43the suffering coming from? Where is the evil coming from?
- 4:46Why is it even happening in the 1st place?
- 4:49There's no doubt. There's no question that the
- 4:52world that we live in is unfair. There's no question that good
- 4:57people suffer and hurt all the time.
- 4:59People who do not deserve to hurt and suffer have this happen
- 5:05to them all the time. So it's understandable why
- 5:09people would chirp up and say what's the deal?
- 5:14A lot of atheists, whenever they're speaking about God, they
- 5:18talk about God as though he's just some old man that lives in
- 5:21the clouds who just watches his little ants below, basically
- 5:27under a melting pot. Some atheist even suggests that
- 5:32God enjoys watching the suffering and the pain that
- 5:35happens in the world. One of the big memes of a lot of
- 5:42nonbelievers, as well as even a couple religious folks out
- 5:46there. I've caught, they'll say, what
- 5:50about the children in Africa? What about these kids that are
- 5:52starving to death? Why are the kids in Africa
- 5:56starving for? Is it because a bunch of black
- 5:59people are running around in the country killing white farmers?
- 6:03And killing each other and enslaving each other, even in
- 6:06modern times? Is it because there's constant
- 6:10tribalism and constant wars and political nonsense happening all
- 6:15the time? So if we really look at the
- 6:18problem, the problem is coming from the same humans who are
- 6:21complaining about God being evil in order to be able to stop the
- 6:29suffering and pain in the world. The problem?
- 6:33That is making all the issues has to be dealt with, right?
- 6:38I mean, in order to stop evil, you have to stop the evil
- 6:41generator and which it's coming from.
- 6:44And I would suggest this if God today in the very next 5 minutes
- 6:50were to make the decision that he was going to interact with
- 6:55the entire human race and get rid of anybody that generates
- 7:00evil. Are wrong or hurt towards
- 7:03someone else. I can tell you right now with
- 7:07absolutely no doubt in my heart or my mind that a lot of
- 7:11Christians would be destroyed and a lot of atheists would be
- 7:15destroyed if not most of them. I have never met a great and
- 7:21wonderful giving atheist before in my life.
- 7:25Most humans, whether they're religious or nonbeliever, are
- 7:28very selfish people. So if God did interact, God's
- 7:33not just going to deal with the result of evil, He would deal
- 7:37with the evil itself and where it's coming from.
- 7:41And we, ladies and gentlemen, are the root of the problem.
- 7:45We are the very root of the issue.
- 7:49So think about that. According to God, everything
- 7:53that we do, whether we think it's big or small.
- 7:57Anything that we do that causes harm, our causes someone
- 8:01offense, our causes someone sadness, our causes someone to
- 8:06lose hope, our children to stumble and their faith, It's
- 8:11because of us. It's because of the parents,
- 8:14it's because of the teachers, it's because of our leaders.
- 8:17It's because of our government. If you really, really, honestly
- 8:22want to know why there's evil and suffering in the world.
- 8:26Then you have to look at the very issue.
- 8:29Now, some people might say, yeah, that's true, Brett, 80% of
- 8:32the pain and suffering that happens in the world is because
- 8:35of people. But what about the issues that
- 8:39have nothing to do with people, like what's happening in nature?
- 8:43Well, if you ask any liberal out there, especially a lot of these
- 8:47liberals who call themselves the Green Piece, they'll tell you
- 8:51that we've caused a lot of damage to our environment as
- 8:54well. So when you get these big
- 8:56tornadoes or you get these big storms and all this destruction
- 9:01where entire cities and towns are being wiped out and entire
- 9:05neighborhoods are being destroyed by nature, according
- 9:09to a lot of people, including scientist, we're the reason
- 9:13behind that as well. We're not all of it, but we're
- 9:17contributing to our own destruction now.
- 9:23People are going to say, OK, this is all true, Brett, you're
- 9:26right. We're the reason why this is the
- 9:29deal. But what about the good people?
- 9:31Can't God do something about that?
- 9:34Well, that's a fascinating point that I've heard some people put
- 9:37out. But what about some of the good
- 9:40people? Well, I personally believe that
- 9:42God has done good in my life. And I can think of thousands of
- 9:46Christians on the Internet who have made countless videos who
- 9:50said that God has interacted in their life, and because of God,
- 9:54their life is better. But they had to make the choice
- 9:58of actually saying to God, I'm willing to sacrifice things.
- 10:02I'm willing to sacrifice my greed and my selfishness.
- 10:06I'm willing to not love the things of this world and the
- 10:10material things. And now people are coming to the
- 10:13realization that they don't need to be rich.
- 10:16They don't need to be wealthy. They don't need to have the
- 10:19best, you know, video game console in the world in order to
- 10:23live strong, happy, peaceful content lives.
- 10:27Some people realize that money isn't going to buy you love.
- 10:32And those people are living pretty good.
- 10:34You can actually be financially poor.
- 10:38And live the most beautiful life that you've ever had.
- 10:41You could be living in a cabin with a beautiful woman and
- 10:45hunting off the land and not even bothering to be distracted
- 10:49by the problems of this world. But a lot of people, they feel
- 10:53pain because they're not able to achieve or accomplish something
- 10:57some celebrity or popular person ever did.
- 11:02The point is, is that a lot of the pain that we suffer is pain
- 11:06that we put on ourselves. That is unnecessary.
- 11:09A lot of us, we think about money, money, money.
- 11:12And what is it that I can do to make my own people do good?
- 11:18Well, God doesn't care a damn bit about money.
- 11:21He doesn't care about if you've got the most.
- 11:24Expensive television or high definition or the best video
- 11:28camera to record your face on so you can blab.
- 11:33He cares about the human soul. He doesn't just care about you
- 11:37in this life, but what your future will be once you go into
- 11:40eternity. Let me tell you guys a little
- 11:45story. It's kind of a joke, really, but
- 11:48it actually has a lot of serious meaning to it.
- 11:52There's a. A scientist and an atheist.
- 11:58Not the same person, just a scientist and an atheist.
- 12:02They die, as everybody inevitably does.
- 12:06Remember, it's just a story, ladies and gentlemen, so don't
- 12:09get all freaked out. The atheist and the scientist
- 12:12die on the same day. Thousands of people die a day,
- 12:15ladies and gentlemen. So the hypothetical and the
- 12:18story could be considered truth. So they're standing before God.
- 12:27The atheist, of course, is shocked.
- 12:28So as a scientist, well, the scientist says to God, he goes,
- 12:34wow, you really do exist. You are real.
- 12:37This is amazing. But here's the thing, God.
- 12:42As I stand here at Judgment Day, I say to you this as a
- 12:47scientist, we. As a science community, we don't
- 12:52really require God. You're not required in order for
- 12:56us to exist. We've been able to do just fine
- 12:59without you. We've been able to invent
- 13:02things. We've been able to create
- 13:03things. We're able to absorb knowledge.
- 13:06We can make anything that we need or want in order to be able
- 13:09to survive and find convenience in this life.
- 13:13You just simply have no place in this universe anymore.
- 13:17God is what the scientist says. And God shakes his head, gives a
- 13:24smile, and then looks at the scientists and says, so you're
- 13:27saying that you don't require me in order to exist?
- 13:30And the scientist says that is correct.
- 13:34And God says, can you create anything?
- 13:36And the scientist looks at him with a snobby look on his face,
- 13:41giving a snobby expression, and says, yeah, I can create, I can
- 13:47create anything. You know, I've given enough
- 13:50time. I can create an entire universe
- 13:53myself if I wanted to. Now he's getting a little bit
- 13:57too narcissistic. But go along with me on this and
- 14:02God says, OK, here's what I want you to do.
- 14:06You say that an intelligent designer is not required and God
- 14:11opens his hand and inside of his hand is a rosebud.
- 14:16God says, I want you to create this.
- 14:19When the scientist says what God says, I want you to create this
- 14:24little bitty rosebud. I want you to create one.
- 14:29And the scientist says, well, I need my lab.
- 14:31I need my, I need to get up some material and I need to get the
- 14:35chemicals and all that. I'm sure I can do something.
- 14:38I just need enough time and God says, whoa, whoa, whoa, Mr.
- 14:43Scientist, hold on for a second. You don't get to use anything.
- 14:49You see all the materials and the chemicals in the universe,
- 14:52every property that you know of, all space and time and matter.
- 14:57I made it. You have to now make this out of
- 15:02nothing, just like you claimed that I did, the scientist says.
- 15:07Whoa, But I I need. I need to be able to have the
- 15:12rules set. I need to have the material I I
- 15:15need to work under natural laws. God says I made the natural
- 15:19laws. I made everything.
- 15:22But now unless you can make the rows out of thin air, unless you
- 15:27can create the very element yourself, then you're not doing
- 15:31anything. You're simply using what I made
- 15:33already. And God basically brushes the
- 15:38scientist stuff. That was the end of the
- 15:39scientist. Now comes the atheist.
- 15:44The atheist says, Let's say the atheist is Christopher Hitchens.
- 15:49We're going to use some of his biggest arguments that he ever
- 15:52did against God, claiming that God is not great.
- 15:59Christopher Hitchens looks at God and says, why did you allow
- 16:02all those Africans to starve to death?
- 16:05Why did you allow all that suffering?
- 16:08Why did you allow pain? Throughout humanity.
- 16:12So as you can see ladies and gentlemen, Christopher Hitchens
- 16:15has given his usual arguments for all based upon emotion and
- 16:20how he perceives the existence of humanity.
- 16:25And God looks at Christopher Hitchens and says what did you
- 16:28do for humanity? If I am considered evil by the
- 16:33very statement that you've made, then let's turn that around on
- 16:36you. What have you done, Hitchens?
- 16:39How many charities were you a part of?
- 16:42How many times did you visit other countries and actually
- 16:44help people? Oh, that's right, you didn't.
- 16:47You did drugs and you drank alcohol until you were dead.
- 16:52You were unhealthy. You didn't even love yourself
- 16:55enough to take care of yourself. And that's the reason why you're
- 16:57dead now and standing before me. He didn't do anything but stand
- 17:02behind the podium and bang your hand like a Baptist preacher
- 17:05telling the world that I am not here and that I don't exist.
- 17:09But you didn't make any effort to make the world a better
- 17:12place. Anybody can complain.
- 17:15Anybody can get popular. Anybody can feed their ego and
- 17:18narcissism. But what did you do, Mr.
- 17:21Hitchens? What did you do, Mr. Stephen
- 17:24Hawking? What did you do, Mr. Richard
- 17:27Dawkins? What did you do?
- 17:30You complained about other people's beliefs and views.
- 17:33You claimed about what people cared about, had no substance to
- 17:37it. You literally brought
- 17:40hopelessness. But you didn't bring anything
- 17:42good to the table. You had the ability.
- 17:46Richard Dawkins. You were smart, Hitchens.
- 17:49You were articulate. You could have tried to
- 17:52encourage people to do better or do right, and you could have
- 17:56used all the money that you made doing what you do.
- 17:59To actually help benefit the world.
- 18:01But you didn't, Along with all your rich friends.
- 18:11That's what we notice about a lot of atheists after, don't we,
- 18:14ladies and gentlemen? And this isn't the video to dump
- 18:17our nonbelievers. But nonbelievers are always
- 18:20complaining about what's happening in the world and all
- 18:25this, But they contribute to the evil.
- 18:27That's the point. They contribute to the
- 18:30suffering, and then they have the audacity to say to God, but
- 18:36what are you going to do, God? Let me tell you what God did,
- 18:40Ladies and gentlemen, in case some of you have out there
- 18:42forgotten. First of all, God created the
- 18:45entire universe. He gave us a world where it
- 18:48already had all the resources required.
- 18:51He gave you the ability to make a family.
- 18:53He gave you the ability to have children, and if you can't have
- 18:57children, you always have the ability to adopt.
- 19:00He created life itself, and He created the very ability to even
- 19:04exist in the 1st place, to live the life that you want to, no
- 19:10matter if it's evil or good. You have the choice.
- 19:14God loved you so much that He gave you the free will to be
- 19:17able to do what you want. And if all's you chose to do
- 19:22throughout your entire life was complain instead of be the
- 19:25generator of good in life and love, then you're part of the
- 19:29problem, aren't you? You're just another broken spoke
- 19:33in the machine complaining about its place.
- 19:38And that's the issue ladies and gentlemen.
- 19:44So God's last response to the dead atheist is?
- 19:49I created you with arms and legs and hands.
- 19:52I created you and I infested your very soul with the power
- 19:57and the ability and the heart to be able to do something good.
- 20:01Yet you chose to do nothing. And the atheist has the audacity
- 20:05to say to God, but what did you do besides creating the entire
- 20:11universe and existence itself, and even the potential to feel
- 20:15joy and peace and love? God says, well, I came down to
- 20:19humanity many times. I died on the cross for you all.
- 20:24I loved you so much that I died for you.
- 20:27I came down to the world in the Old Testament and I got rid of
- 20:32entire groups of people so other groups of people would be able
- 20:36to flourish that we're trying to do good.
- 20:39Every time I got rid of evil people or tried to do something
- 20:42about evil. You would then get on your
- 20:44YouTube video and complain about how evil and horrible I am.
- 20:48I got rid of all the evil leaders and evil governments and
- 20:52bad kingdoms in the past, and every time I did it, I wasn't
- 20:56praised or respected for trying to make the world a better place
- 21:00for humanity. You see, God already existed in
- 21:08that type of scenario. There was already when you read
- 21:13the Bible, you already read about a God who interacted with
- 21:16humanity. And every if you read the Bible,
- 21:20anything that you've ever asked or wondered nowadays Why isn't
- 21:24God doing this? Or why is God doing that?
- 21:27Or why does God allow this? If you read the entire Bible
- 21:31cover to cover whether you're religious or nonbeliever, you're
- 21:34going to find out that God tried every scenario possible.
- 21:41So at the end of the day, most people are probably going to
- 21:43ask, well then, why wasn't God able to accomplish it?
- 21:47Why have people gotten worse? Why has things gotten more
- 21:51terrible, even though God did interact and do all these things
- 21:56well? That's a question for humans,
- 21:58isn't it? Why?
- 22:01God knows everything. He knows that humans are going
- 22:03to get worse and worse and worse.
- 22:06In the end, it's going to be bad.
- 22:09The only reason why God hasn't come yet is because there's
- 22:13still some of us out there that want to change and want to do
- 22:16better and do good. But there's going to be a day
- 22:19where it becomes like the day of Noah, where people decide they
- 22:23don't care anymore, where the entire population says I give
- 22:29up, I don't care about the environment, I don't care about
- 22:33my fellow man. I don't care about my neighbor.
- 22:36It's about me, me, me. And the day comes when humans
- 22:39have become absolutely irrelevant and useless.
- 22:44When humans have become fully hopeless and decided to hold
- 22:49everybody else accountable instead of themself with the
- 22:52greed and selflessness of this world.
- 22:55Until humans decide to look inward as opposed to outward and
- 23:00do something about it, this is the way this world will remain.
- 23:08When will it end? When we all finally conclude
- 23:14that there's no point anymore, no reason for even trying.
- 23:17And that's the point of it. And why doesn't all knowing God
- 23:24do this? Because perhaps in this way of
- 23:27doing things, it allows you to free will, to come to Him with
- 23:32loving open arms. You got to choose if you want to
- 23:37marry into that commitment. And maybe God has tried this
- 23:43scenario millions and millions of times, interacting here and
- 23:47there, stopping this. According to millions of
- 23:50Christians around the world, the reason why they are Christian is
- 23:54because they've either seen God, they've heard God, and they've
- 23:58actually seen what God has actually done for them in their
- 24:01life. That's why Christianity is the
- 24:05most popular religion in the world, because Christians are
- 24:09known to be very outspoken about whenever God does something for
- 24:14them or lets God see something that they may have not seen
- 24:19before. So when you hear that atheist
- 24:23say where is God, why isn't God doing something?
- 24:27Perhaps God is only working with people that he thinks will
- 24:31actually use the blessings that they get for good.
- 24:36Perhaps God is only giving to those that he knows won't use it
- 24:40for a weapon against others or hurt people.
- 24:44A blessing can become a curse if it's in the wrong hands.
- 24:48Ladies and gentlemen, imagine what would happen if Adolf
- 24:53Hitler had prayed for immortality and God gave it to
- 24:56him. Although it might be nice for
- 24:59Adolf Hitler, it wouldn't be nice for all the people he plans
- 25:02on killing and hurting. Why would God give a bunch of
- 25:06money to a person who's only going to buy them a new Xbox and
- 25:10say the hell with the rest of the world?
- 25:12You see, if you're going to give good things to people, make sure
- 25:17you give it to people who are going to use it for the good and
- 25:19for the better. At the end of the day, the all
- 25:22my knowing God is going to know what is optimal for humanity.
- 25:27The best route to take, the best direction to take.
- 25:32God knows before it all started that some people weren't going
- 25:36to climb out of the pool, some people weren't going to do
- 25:40something to make life better. No matter what scenario it is,
- 25:45not everybody can be saved unless God forces his hand.
- 25:49And let's face it, we've seen what happened whenever God went
- 25:53against free will in the Bible. That's right, and the Bible.
- 25:57There were many times where God did things that other people
- 26:00that humans did not like, especially the kingdoms that
- 26:03were doing evil things. They did not appreciate it
- 26:06whenever God sent flames and fireballs from the sky and blew
- 26:10their ass up in order to make another group of people out
- 26:13there happy. So is that what you want?
- 26:19I want you all to really think about that in modern times.
- 26:22When you say you want God to do something about evil, does that
- 26:26also include you? Who does that include?
- 26:30Your mother? Your father?
- 26:33Who do you want God to deal with?
- 26:36Who's the problem? And can that problem be resolved
- 26:39by you? Because, ladies and gentlemen,
- 26:42I'm going to finish the video with this.
- 26:45Just like God responded to the atheist.
- 26:47I gave you legs, I gave you arms, I gave you the mind and
- 26:51the consciousness and the soul. I gave you the power.
- 26:55You are the very thing that I created to make world better.
- 26:59Why didn't you?
