- 0:00Speaker 1: What you're trying to get into one day, or shown
- 0:03Speaker 1: what you're trying to do.
- 0:05Speaker 2: You know, I'm trying to animate, Yeah, always trying to animate.
- 0:10Speaker 3: I got I had.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I had Elder and Calvin over just now and we
- 0:16Speaker 2: was lighting my shit and I got a nice little
- 0:19Speaker 2: reverse shot to the stuff that I've been working on.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I'm really excited. It took from nine to twelve thirty one,
- 0:27Speaker 2: which is why I'm late. I not to get the
- 0:30Speaker 2: shot to light the shot. Wow, it's animation, so everything
- 0:34Speaker 2: moves and the light has to stay consistent.
- 0:37Speaker 1: You gotta have a lot of patience for that animation.
- 0:40Speaker 3: You gotta have a lot of patience.
- 0:41Speaker 1: What I got is true. Do you think there's color
- 0:43Speaker 1: is too much for me? Donald? It's loud.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I was wondering if you were trying to be invisible,
- 0:49Speaker 2: like it's like a green screen shirt, you know what
- 0:52Speaker 2: I mean.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I guess the video team to cut crop. Yes on.
- 0:55Speaker 1: The video team could could do something clever with this,
- 0:58Speaker 1: Like maybe they could probably give them a clean I'll
- 1:00Speaker 1: give them a clean frame and then they could do
- 1:03Speaker 1: floating head Zach.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Very nice.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Okay, now they can use that and just make me
- 1:10Speaker 1: floating here.
- 1:11Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:11Speaker 2: What they can also do is they can put if
- 1:13Speaker 2: you stand up just one time and freeze it. They
- 1:17Speaker 2: can put the date of your concert that you're throwing
- 1:22Speaker 2: in a couple of months.
- 1:23Speaker 1: On my shirt.
- 1:24Speaker 3: On your shirt.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Well, it's March twenty ninth. To put it on there, guys,
- 1:29Speaker 1: March twenty ninth at the Greek Theater. Donald, by the way,
- 1:32Speaker 1: I meant to ask you, I'm gonna ask you live
- 1:34Speaker 1: in front of the listeners. We'll do it live. Well,
- 1:36Speaker 1: do it live? Will you be a presenter at the
- 1:40Speaker 1: benefit concert and introduce one of the bands with me?
- 1:45Speaker 3: Is it cold Play?
- 1:48Speaker 1: No?
- 1:48Speaker 3: Then I don't know if I'm available.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I thought, you know, it's funny, you say, Jesus, you
- 1:54Speaker 1: know what's funny about this? You know what's funny about this?
- 1:56Speaker 1: I thought that our shtick. Sorry this is a spoiler
- 1:58Speaker 1: for those of you coming to the concert, but I
- 2:01Speaker 1: thought our stick could be.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Is it a black guy?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah? No, no? Is it what you said when I
- 2:07Speaker 1: gave Donald the Garden State script?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Are there any black people in the script? You know?
- 2:11Speaker 1: And then to which I responded, yes, there are two
- 2:15Speaker 1: black men in the movie. And you said, am I
- 2:18Speaker 1: right for any of them? And I said, I already
- 2:20Speaker 1: gave up. No, I said, from one of them, you're
- 2:22Speaker 1: not right, and for the one you are right. For
- 2:24Speaker 1: I already gave to method man, to which you replied,
- 2:27Speaker 1: then I don't need to read the script.
- 2:28Speaker 3: The script.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And he never reade it read it. And I thought
- 2:38Speaker 1: we could tell that story to the audience.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Sounds great.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And then I thought the other story we could tell. Sorry,
- 2:43Speaker 1: this is a spoiler for any of you coming to
- 2:45Speaker 1: the concert. The other story I thought we could tell
- 2:48Speaker 1: would be it would be a do you remember we
- 2:50Speaker 1: did a friends and family swing of Garden State, maybe
- 2:54Speaker 1: like a fifty to one hundred people who I knew
- 2:56Speaker 1: were like, you know, just just so we could get feedback.
- 2:59Speaker 3: That was the That was the wrong choice of words.
- 3:01Speaker 2: You can't say to get feedback, because I gave feedback.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And a funny story is that the movie had an
- 3:09Speaker 1: ending that I needed to trim. It was too it
- 3:11Speaker 1: was too dark, and it kind of was multiple endings,
- 3:14Speaker 1: but I was clutching onto it. I really didn't want
- 3:16Speaker 1: to let it go. And Danny DeVito, who was the
- 3:19Speaker 1: executive producer on a movie, he led the focus group
- 3:22Speaker 1: after watching the movie and said to all of my
- 3:24Speaker 1: friends and family and people that worked with the movie,
- 3:27Speaker 1: they said, does anyone feel like the movie has too
- 3:31Speaker 1: many endings? One hand shoots up in the center of
- 3:34Speaker 1: the audience, Donald Faizon, and he's got that looked at him.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I I look at him.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I go I said to him, Yo, I'm sorry, dog,
- 3:42Speaker 2: but it does have too many endings.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Man, I feel like it wants too many times.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I was like, he was right away, you come back,
- 3:51Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like, it just seems like,
- 3:54Speaker 2: what is it gonna be?
- 3:54Speaker 3: Is she gonna be alone? Is she gonna be with you?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Oh? That part I I cut the I cut them
- 3:59Speaker 1: sort of ending. That was a sad part of the
- 4:02Speaker 1: ending that I cut. But you were right, you and
- 4:04Speaker 1: Danny DeVito and everybody else, Bill Laurence, everyone who gave
- 4:06Speaker 1: me notes was right that I needed to trim the ending.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But the point was that I wasn't ready. I wasn't
- 4:10Speaker 1: there yet, and I was certainly not expecting my best
- 4:13Speaker 1: friend to be the one who shoots hand up to
- 4:14Speaker 1: Dany de Vito and be like, I haven't.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Really started laughing. You started laughing. You're like this ninja.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Because everybody else like even if they were thinking it.
- 4:23Speaker 1: They're my friends and my family. They might they were
- 4:25Speaker 1: trying to I imagine if I was in that situation,
- 4:27Speaker 1: you're like trying to think, like, what's the tackful way
- 4:29Speaker 1: to do this? I probably should tell Zach I agree
- 4:31Speaker 1: with Danny, but maybe I'll do it in private. This
- 4:34Speaker 1: dude's arms shut up. I have things to say.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I got notes. I think I believe our friendship is
- 4:42Speaker 2: like that though. I believe if I had something and
- 4:45Speaker 2: you were like, it doesn't work, you would say right
- 4:47Speaker 2: away it doesn't work.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Well, what I mean? I would say that your wife
- 4:51Speaker 1: does that all the time. Yeah, we an't around. She
- 4:55Speaker 1: doesn't censor.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Birds of a feather.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah she My wife doesn't censor at all.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And then when you get in an argument where you're like,
- 5:03Speaker 1: what the fuck, she's like, I'm just keeping it rail,
- 5:09Speaker 1: don't y'all want me to keep it rail?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yes, prospector no judgments.
- 5:15Speaker 1: She also says, no judgments. I'm just keeping no judgments, y'all.
- 5:21Speaker 1: All right, no judgments, y'all. That's what she says before
- 5:25Speaker 1: she drops some crazy ship. All right, no judgments, y'all,
- 5:28Speaker 1: And then she says something crazy, outrageous and you're like, oh,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I agreed to no judgments.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I said no judgments.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I inadvertently signed up for no judgments, but I have judgments.
- 5:41Speaker 1: She doesn't give you a chance to say whether you
- 5:44Speaker 1: sign up for no judgments. She just says no judgments
- 5:47Speaker 1: and then launches into some shit might have judgments about?
- 5:51Speaker 3: She does not give a ship so much?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Don't she get the Grammys? Yo?
- 5:57Speaker 4: Good?
- 5:57Speaker 2: That was pretty impressive, man, so good.
- 6:00Speaker 4: I want to Broadway Musical number performance Ala Matilda.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I love it.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I was.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Texting the whole time, all of them, that whole that
- 6:11Speaker 2: whole new.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Artist the new artist section.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Oh my god, that single one of the best New
- 6:18Speaker 2: Artist category I've seen in a really really really really
- 6:22Speaker 2: long time.
- 6:23Speaker 1: But it's usually just one flips off the piano. I
- 6:25Speaker 1: don't even know that dude, Vincent, please by the way.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I want you, I need you, O gun, don't take
- 6:36Speaker 2: There's beautiful things.
- 6:37Speaker 1: That a god dog by the way. I've heard that song,
- 6:42Speaker 1: of course, all over the internet, but I've never seen
- 6:44Speaker 1: what he looks like, nor that he was such an
- 6:46Speaker 1: incredible performer. I mean, that was amazing.
- 6:49Speaker 2: That out of all of them, in my opinion, he's
- 6:52Speaker 2: the best performer.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But out slowed downn't She was fucking amazing?
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, but I'm trying. This motherfucker is just himself
- 7:00Speaker 2: on the stage doing flips. Had a lot of props
- 7:04Speaker 2: going on, so did Serena, no doubt. But the ones
- 7:09Speaker 2: that he had just a piano and him.
- 7:13Speaker 4: And a sparkling ones and a band.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And a sparkly ones freaking uh what's your name?
- 7:19Speaker 3: What's her name?
- 7:19Speaker 5: Uh uh?
- 7:21Speaker 2: The shoot pink, the pony chaperone. She had a freaking
- 7:27Speaker 2: whole thing too, you know what I mean, Like everybody
- 7:29Speaker 2: had some type of uh uh you know.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Performance production.
- 7:38Speaker 2: It's just him and the flips, and and and and
- 7:43Speaker 2: the and the onesie.
- 7:44Speaker 1: He was he was hot. They cut to sizzle in
- 7:46Speaker 1: the front row after she was all hot and bothered.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Do you see her face?
- 7:50Speaker 3: That boy got it. That boy got it.
- 7:52Speaker 2: All of them got it though. That was the thing
- 7:54Speaker 2: that was the thing that was so amazing. Everyone in
- 7:57Speaker 2: that category had, even the band that really didn't sing,
- 8:00Speaker 2: they were just playing the music they had.
- 8:03Speaker 1: It was the English singer I don't know her either,
- 8:06Speaker 1: May something with an m Ray Ray. She was incredible.
- 8:12Speaker 4: She's delightful. Lovey oh.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I had never heard of her. She was in I mean,
- 8:16Speaker 1: since this is why the Grammys are good, as you
- 8:19Speaker 1: that little section where you get to learn all these
- 8:21Speaker 1: musicians you didn't even ever heard of before that. I
- 8:25Speaker 1: didn't know. Shaboozy was like country.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, exclusively, that's Dolly Parton's godson.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Really, the dude was getting no shine until freaking Beyonce.
- 8:36Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 8:37Speaker 4: She did blow him up. But after he had a
- 8:39Speaker 4: number one track for like a record, breaking him out
- 8:42Speaker 4: of weeks. So he did the Tipsy Song remix. It
- 8:47Speaker 4: was country that took over. And then he appeared on
- 8:49Speaker 4: two tracks on the.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Okay and then all right, wait what about there was
- 8:59Speaker 1: so much How about a re evo singing that song
- 9:01Speaker 1: for Jones?
- 9:04Speaker 4: Jones moment, I was a little bit beside myself was
- 9:07Speaker 4: really beautiful.
- 9:08Speaker 2: IM gonna keep a one hundred. Will Smith did seem
- 9:11Speaker 2: a little he was a little shook, you know.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I thought it was accept me.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Are you gonna? Are you gonna? Am I? Are we cool?
- 9:21Speaker 6: Yet?
- 9:22Speaker 1: I don't know. I thought it was weird, like if
- 9:23Speaker 1: you're gonna, if you're gonna, if you're gonna come back,
- 9:26Speaker 1: don't come back. In an award show. It's just to me.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It could have anonymous stomach.
- 9:31Speaker 4: It's a music awards. They didn't exactly like my kids
- 9:36Speaker 4: are here and hang out. I guess what do you.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Think, Joelle? What would Joelle? You didn't you didn't have
- 9:41Speaker 1: a pit in your stomach. When you saw Will Smith
- 9:43Speaker 1: at an award show, I was like, really, what.
- 9:47Speaker 3: About his son? What about his son's a hat?
- 9:53Speaker 1: And I loved him something. The kid knows how to trend.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The kid knows how to eis does try. Everyone's like
- 10:02Speaker 1: everyone falls for it. Every time. He's like, I'm gonna
- 10:04Speaker 1: wear a house in my head and then everyone talks
- 10:06Speaker 1: about it. It makes memes and he's like, I wont
- 10:07Speaker 1: everyone's talking about me?
- 10:09Speaker 3: Dude.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Sounds like like he knows how to get that attention. Man,
- 10:13Speaker 2: he's good at that. Ship man is amazing.
- 10:16Speaker 1: He has mastered the art of I would like to
- 10:19Speaker 1: be trending all over the internet. Yes, I'm gonna wear
- 10:23Speaker 1: a house on my head.
- 10:25Speaker 2: He wore a house on his head.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I saw a funny meme where someone put like an
- 10:32Speaker 1: angry face in the hole where his was. It was
- 10:35Speaker 1: like it was like Dad's dads. When someone's turning around
- 10:39Speaker 1: in your Driveway. Well, I thought it was a very
- 10:51Speaker 1: entertaining show. Most importantly, I just thought it showcased so
- 10:54Speaker 1: much talent, and those categories were like, how could you
- 10:57Speaker 1: possibly by our friend? Andrew Watt won two Grammys, one
- 11:04Speaker 1: for Die with a Smile and one for Best Rock
- 11:09Speaker 1: Album for The Rolling Stones.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna say something really quick.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Wait before you do, I just want to say.
- 11:14Speaker 3: It has something to do with Andrew to remember.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I just want to say that. Then they dropped that
- 11:19Speaker 1: whole Gaga god. Yeah, Andrew wrote that.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Well He's back and Cheese back.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Oh wow.
- 11:28Speaker 4: They killed it the way the girls were like to
- 11:31Speaker 4: the club immediately added to the hit playlist, like the
- 11:35Speaker 4: New Workout album, the New Dance Club song It's Fire.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Kid Is. He won, He won Best Rock Producer with
- 11:42Speaker 1: The Stones. Then he wins whatever the category was for
- 11:47Speaker 1: Die with a Smile. And then they showed they debut
- 11:49Speaker 1: that whole Lady Gaga fucking music video and he wrote that.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Song I'm gonna say something, Go ahead. I feel like.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Charlotte Lawrence got a lot of face time at the Grammys. Yeah,
- 12:05Speaker 2: and she looked amazing, And I believe now is the
- 12:10Speaker 2: time to capitalize because I know a lot of people
- 12:14Speaker 2: were saying, who's that lovely girl right there?
- 12:17Speaker 3: Who's that? Who is that pretty young lady right there?
- 12:20Speaker 2: I know there were some fire I know there were
- 12:24Speaker 2: several people wondering who she was.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Well, they're going to find out in twenty twenty five, Donalds.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I believe, so. I believe now is the time to
- 12:33Speaker 2: strike because the iron is hot.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And when you have her on a podcast, she will
- 12:38Speaker 1: come songs of earphones.
- 12:42Speaker 3: She will have a dongle.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she will search for a dongle and only
- 12:49Speaker 1: have a butt plug. This is an easter egg for
- 12:53Speaker 1: those of you who listen to the podcast regularly. What
- 12:57Speaker 1: you're trying to get into a dare what you're trying
- 13:01Speaker 1: to do? How about this? We shouldn't talk about it,
- 13:04Speaker 1: but this Baldoni uh Blake Lively thing, that's just good hands.
- 13:08Speaker 3: That is nuts And I don't know what to believe
- 13:10Speaker 3: at all.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Well, I'm not gonna We're not gonna go down there.
- 13:13Speaker 3: I don't want to be. I don't want to be.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I started reading. I spent way too much time reading
- 13:22Speaker 1: the website.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Be involved, you know, I do not don't want any
- 13:25Speaker 3: of the smoke.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Trying to get involved, but didn't read any Did you
- 13:31Speaker 1: read any of the website?
- 13:32Speaker 4: I read everything a gas the text message change. I
- 13:36Speaker 4: was like, this is wild. But then even if you
- 13:39Speaker 4: like take a step back and you're like, Okay, I'm
- 13:41Speaker 4: not sure this is all just stuff that's been admitted
- 13:43Speaker 4: into evidence.
- 13:44Speaker 6: You know.
- 13:45Speaker 4: I follow a ton of lawyers on Instagram. They've been
- 13:47Speaker 4: breaking it down for me and they're like, so this
- 13:48Speaker 4: is like not all of this stuff is We're one hundred.
- 13:51Speaker 4: We don't know the source of where these texts came
- 13:53Speaker 4: from is kind of a mystery, Like how true is everything?
- 13:57Speaker 4: And then like all the stuff playing out in the news.
- 13:59Speaker 4: I like the judge I think yesterday was like, hey, guys,
- 14:01Speaker 4: if I keep seeing stuff in the news, we're gonna
- 14:03Speaker 4: have a real problem. Like this has got to stop.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Let me just ask a question.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Did the judge say the gag order does not there's
- 14:10Speaker 2: no such thing as a gag order in this situation.
- 14:12Speaker 3: You can't gag you. Is that what happened?
- 14:16Speaker 4: I think what he was just saying is he called
- 14:17Speaker 4: both sides of lawyers to the bench and was essentially like,
- 14:21Speaker 4: you guys cannot keep leaking stuff too. So I don't
- 14:23Speaker 4: think there. I'm not sure there's an official gag order
- 14:25Speaker 4: or not, but he's definitely displeased that all of this
- 14:27Speaker 4: was playing out when it's an active court case.
- 14:31Speaker 1: What's bizarre is that. I mean, it's just so a
- 14:36Speaker 1: lot of this stuff happens all the time in Hollywood,
- 14:39Speaker 1: but the fact that everyone's got receipts, it's so crazy. Yeah, crazy, dude.
- 14:45Speaker 3: The receipts are the.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Receipts are flowing like a river.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Holy cow. It's like that thing.
- 14:51Speaker 2: You remember that little typewriter that you had as a kid,
- 14:53Speaker 2: the money counter thing, and you will pretend you were
- 14:56Speaker 2: an accountant or she just kept coming out. The paper
- 15:01Speaker 2: just kept coming out. That's what the receipts are like.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Right, I love that thing. I love that CALCULI I
- 15:07Speaker 1: was a cashier at the supermarket.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what the receipts.
- 15:12Speaker 1: To get one of those on eBay for no reason,
- 15:14Speaker 1: just to.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Have you guys just keep in business.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Holy cow.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Do you have Katie here when you are ready?
- 15:22Speaker 1: I can't let her in, but I again, we don't
- 15:24Speaker 1: know anything, audience, but it is a fascinating story, and.
- 15:28Speaker 3: We don't want to be involved either.
- 15:30Speaker 1: We don't do not want to be involved like Cads.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I'm not doing a deep dive like Candae owns. Candace
- 15:41Speaker 1: Owes has pivoted to full time investigator of this story.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I found myself about to be like, oh my god,
- 15:52Speaker 1: am I going to click on a Candace Owens video?
- 15:54Speaker 1: I was like, you cannot. I was curious about what
- 15:57Speaker 1: she had to say.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Let me AlCl rhythm please.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Joelle for real. I was like, I don't want my
- 16:04Speaker 1: algorithm to go down to the Candice Owen's wormhole. But
- 16:06Speaker 1: I was curious about her thoughts on the issue. Yeah,
- 16:10Speaker 1: because told me that, uh that she's gone all in.
- 16:14Speaker 4: It looks to the lifetime movie when all of this
- 16:16Speaker 4: is a result.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Uh oh yeah, I want to I want to play
- 16:19Speaker 1: justice is it?
- 16:20Speaker 2: Isn't Michael Moore doing a freaking uh a documentary on it?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Is that his name Michael?
- 16:28Speaker 4: That would be wild?
- 16:29Speaker 1: What Michael Moore like social issues? He's not.
- 16:33Speaker 3: This is a social issue.
- 16:34Speaker 1: It's a issue. It's a Hollywood he said. She said,
- 16:38Speaker 1: it says took over a movie and socially everyone is more.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Michael Moore does who fucking took down Michigan? Literally Andy Wire?
- 16:48Speaker 4: Michael Moore teases what something and may have to do
- 16:56Speaker 4: with the lively Aboutdony legal dispute. This is according to
- 16:58Speaker 4: Indy Wire, which I trust them.
- 16:59Speaker 1: That Donald I'm sorry, but it's not a social issue.
- 17:04Speaker 1: But that is crazy that he's doing. Why is Michael
- 17:08Speaker 1: Moore doing a story about this?
- 17:10Speaker 3: Because everyone is invested. Everyone wants to everyone.
- 17:16Speaker 6: Too.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I don't care if you think about the me Too.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Movie's really interesting.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I'm the opposite of Daniel. I am very invested because
- 17:27Speaker 1: that people are invested. Listen, I just want to say,
- 17:29Speaker 1: because this a lot of this stuff happens behind the
- 17:32Speaker 1: scenes and people never see it, and people in Hollywood
- 17:37Speaker 1: swallow it and they bury it and it never gets discussed.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And because this is so public, and because both parties
- 17:45Speaker 1: have such lengthy receipts, it is kind of fascinating. It's
- 17:51Speaker 1: horrible for all the people involved having their dirty laundry aired,
- 17:54Speaker 1: but it is sort of fascinating to everyone because this happened.
- 17:58Speaker 1: This kind of bullshit in Shenanigan happens all the time.
- 18:01Speaker 3: This is like the O J.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Troud, This is like the Menindez trials. This is like
- 18:06Speaker 2: freaking uh without murder. Somebody somebody's character is gonna get
- 18:10Speaker 2: murdered at the end of this. Somebody's going down. Somebody
- 18:13Speaker 2: there's a winner and a loser. It's got to be
- 18:15Speaker 2: It's not nobody. It's not gonna be Hey, you know what,
- 18:19Speaker 2: you both are right, We're gonna separate it one. Somebody's
- 18:22Speaker 2: going down. I don't know who it is, but somebody's
- 18:24Speaker 2: got to take the fall for how.
- 18:26Speaker 1: About the whole like, how about the whole side quest
- 18:28Speaker 1: of fucking the allegation that that that nice Pool is
- 18:33Speaker 1: based on Justin and.
- 18:34Speaker 4: It's like at dis a Justin Planet, it's so funny.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And that, And then in the credits for for Deadpool,
- 18:43Speaker 1: what did they do?
- 18:43Speaker 4: They Ryan has a character who he called like he's
- 18:47Speaker 4: played in another movie that was his twin. It's like,
- 18:50Speaker 4: oh no, it was for any one of you know.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Ryan's big thing is that he partners with brands to
- 18:55Speaker 4: release different commercials that are timely, ineffective and like whatever's
- 18:58Speaker 4: in the zeitgeist in the moment. So at one point
- 19:00Speaker 4: he was interviewing himself and his twin was named like
- 19:03Speaker 4: greg or something, and they gave a thank you credit
- 19:06Speaker 4: to Greg in the at the end of the Deadpool thing,
- 19:09Speaker 4: and people think that that's like Greg was playing nice
- 19:13Speaker 4: Pool and nice Pool is like it's supposed to be
- 19:15Speaker 4: a reference to Justin Boldoonney. I don't know if any
- 19:18Speaker 4: of this is true, but these are the theories people
- 19:20Speaker 4: have come up with online.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yeah, because nice Pool. I didn't see the movie, but
- 19:24Speaker 1: nice Pool apparently like says like, I'm I have a
- 19:27Speaker 1: podcast on women's issues and he's got a man bun
- 19:31Speaker 1: like Justin.
- 19:31Speaker 4: This is one of those things that he should have
- 19:33Speaker 4: just swallowed though, because that's like man bun has a podcast.
- 19:36Speaker 4: It's so broad, but you're bringing it up and being
- 19:39Speaker 4: like that's me makes people go hmmm, hit dog hollering.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Maybe what's going on a lot of questions.
- 19:45Speaker 2: All I'm saying is there's gonna be a winner and
- 19:47Speaker 2: there's gonna be a loser. It's not gonna be.
- 19:51Speaker 4: She's got more money than God and a following think.
- 19:54Speaker 1: So Joelle, I don't think she's winning currently in the zeitgeist,
- 19:57Speaker 1: in the in the public court of public opinion.
- 19:59Speaker 4: She'll go through the same thing all women do, which is,
- 20:00Speaker 4: once you're accused, a whole bunch of people will be like,
- 20:02Speaker 4: we believe she's awful and we hate her. And and
- 20:06Speaker 4: she had her wedding at like on a plantation. It's awful,
- 20:10Speaker 4: but she is Ryan Reynolds money behind her. She was
- 20:12Speaker 4: again more money than God. Justin Valdi doesn't have any
- 20:15Speaker 4: of that, and enough people will.
- 20:17Speaker 1: On a plantation.
- 20:18Speaker 4: She sure did. She did, And that's why black women
- 20:22Speaker 4: do not like Blake.
- 20:24Speaker 1: What was the theme?
- 20:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I kind of not really, It's like, oh, Antebellum,
- 20:31Speaker 4: classy kind of vibes, and it's.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Like girls them blade them blade the lady Anabellum changed
- 20:38Speaker 2: the name because lady and because Annabellum is not it
- 20:42Speaker 2: is not appropriate.
- 20:43Speaker 1: All right. We can talk forever about all these fun issues,
- 20:46Speaker 1: but I think we should We shouldn't fight our guests.
- 20:49Speaker 1: In Donald that about sure we made about a bunch of.
- 21:01Speaker 5: I said, he's so.
- 21:06Speaker 6: Yea yeah, my k. How are you welco?
- 21:26Speaker 1: I was just thinking about how many things I have
- 21:28Speaker 1: to ask you. I don't even know where to begin.
- 21:30Speaker 2: The last time I saw Joshua Raiding concert?
- 21:35Speaker 1: Is that the last time you saw Katie Lows?
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yes, it is.
- 21:38Speaker 7: I love Joshua Raiding, God, I love him.
- 21:44Speaker 5: He I mean, my husband likes him. I really like him.
- 21:46Speaker 5: But my husband's like, I think my husband would leave
- 21:49Speaker 5: me for Joshua Raid And that's how much my man.
- 21:52Speaker 7: That man's sweet sweet vocals really enticed my husband.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Your husband is a man of Whisper Rock.
- 22:00Speaker 2: I remember the sound, and I.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Wait, there's one other guy in the Whisper Rock. What
- 22:07Speaker 5: is his name?
- 22:08Speaker 1: Oh god? Here Harry Brothers.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Oh and Adam loves Carrie Brothers more dating, he loves him.
- 22:14Speaker 5: But there's one more.
- 22:16Speaker 7: Oh god, oh god, I want to text him so bad.
- 22:18Speaker 7: Oh god, it's like an interesting name. He's in the
- 22:20Speaker 7: Josh Rayden Crew. It was my tenth wedding anniversary. We
- 22:23Speaker 7: were a napa. The guy saying it's a whisper I
- 22:26Speaker 7: mean it's like like you can't even.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Clink a glass, like in the ball when you're listening.
- 22:32Speaker 5: It's horrific. I mean, it's like scary.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Even when Josh comes on the podcast, he takes on
- 22:36Speaker 1: this character voice that is not really how he talks
- 22:39Speaker 1: in real life, but he plays this guy. He's like,
- 22:42Speaker 1: it just has everybody so nice. Whisper Rock is so wonderful.
- 22:47Speaker 3: It's so nice to be here.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Just to be here.
- 22:49Speaker 7: I think he's going to be the sing like he
- 22:52Speaker 7: Because of that, I feel like we'll be singing till
- 22:54Speaker 7: he's like a hundred right, Like I feel like I've
- 22:57Speaker 7: yelled so much of my life, and I feel like
- 23:00Speaker 7: my voice is already just tracked.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Well, you have a really good voice. Let's start off
- 23:04Speaker 1: talking about you, our guest.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Oh my god, let's talk about it.
- 23:08Speaker 1: You're in one of my favorite musicals, Waitress. I love Waitress.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I have a very special place in my heart for Waitress. Okay, Well,
- 23:16Speaker 1: I love sar Moelis more than anything. And be Nick Cordero,
- 23:19Speaker 1: our friend that we lost was was in the original
- 23:22Speaker 1: cast and I saw the show so many times with
- 23:26Speaker 1: many different actresses. But you and and your husband did
- 23:33Speaker 1: it together. How cute is that?
- 23:34Speaker 5: Oh? Yeah, we yeah, it was kind.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Of you were Dawn.
- 23:38Speaker 7: I assume I was down, you know, the me and
- 23:41Speaker 7: Adam were the side comedy reliefs.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Which to next where.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Christ Fitzgerald played Adam's original party and I love that
- 23:48Speaker 1: party comes in and he steals the whole show.
- 23:50Speaker 7: Oh, the show literally stops halfway through. His character has
- 23:53Speaker 7: a big number that stops the plot.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Everyone's up on their feet.
- 23:57Speaker 7: Because it's comedic, musical theater Gene. But Sarah Burrellas was
- 24:01Speaker 7: a friend of Adam's for a long time. You know,
- 24:04Speaker 7: we would go see her at Hotel cafe with like
- 24:06Speaker 7: twenty people at the beginning of her career and.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Yes, and she was such a superstar.
- 24:13Speaker 7: And one morning we had a seven month old baby,
- 24:16Speaker 7: we got a text from her that was like, how
- 24:18Speaker 7: would you guys like to make your Broadway debuts together?
- 24:20Speaker 7: And that is so cute and we were like, wait, wait, wait,
- 24:24Speaker 7: hold on a second. Then fear sets in. I can't
- 24:27Speaker 7: do it. I'm terrified.
- 24:28Speaker 5: What are we doing?
- 24:29Speaker 7: And we were also fans of the musical too, because
- 24:31Speaker 7: we were friends with Sarah and had watched it a
- 24:33Speaker 7: million times because she wrote it and then she starred
- 24:36Speaker 7: in it.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So we By the way, for those of you who
- 24:37Speaker 1: don't know the show, this couple is the epicenter of
- 24:41Speaker 1: the comic relief. I mean, everyone's got jokes, but this
- 24:44Speaker 1: couple that they play is the are the silliest and
- 24:47Speaker 1: the funniest and.
- 24:49Speaker 5: We get married eight times a week in the show.
- 24:52Speaker 3: That's the other thing.
- 24:53Speaker 7: Yeah, so that's cute. But so after she said would
- 24:56Speaker 7: you be into it?
- 24:57Speaker 5: Then we had to audition a million times, which was.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Wait, why she offered you the part of then said
- 25:02Speaker 1: would you be lean the audition?
- 25:03Speaker 4: Yes?
- 25:04Speaker 5: Well, she was like, would you want to do it?
- 25:05Speaker 7: We were like, yes, we would move to New York
- 25:07Speaker 7: tomorrow with our baby.
- 25:09Speaker 5: We'd figure it out. And but then she was like,
- 25:11Speaker 5: but can you hack it? I mean, this is.
- 25:13Speaker 7: Broadway people, This is the hardest am I left a
- 25:15Speaker 7: curse on this.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Yeah, you can say shit, oh god, oh don't say fuck.
- 25:22Speaker 1: We just don't say fuck.
- 25:23Speaker 7: It was the hardest ship I have ever done. I
- 25:27Speaker 7: so when you we auditioned a bunch of times. We
- 25:30Speaker 7: had to send in a bunch of tapes. And I
- 25:32Speaker 7: can sing the shit out of that Dawn solo one time.
- 25:35Speaker 7: I can do it once and then I can't talk
- 25:38Speaker 7: for two weeks.
- 25:39Speaker 5: So I sold it.
- 25:40Speaker 7: We booked the parts within seven days, we'd moved to
- 25:43Speaker 7: New York, and in fourteen days we opened on Broadway.
- 25:46Speaker 5: That's the amount of rehearsal you get.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Oh my god, I got goosebumps.
- 25:49Speaker 3: It well.
- 25:50Speaker 7: I cried every day I thought I couldn't do it.
- 25:54Speaker 7: Thank God for my husband was like, just give it
- 25:56Speaker 7: one more day, Just give it one more day, Just
- 25:57Speaker 7: give it one more day.
- 25:58Speaker 5: I think we got I know, I know, you guys.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Are such a cute couple. It really is nauseating.
- 26:03Speaker 5: It's nauseating.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I had to sit them at the Joshua Raiding concert that.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Yeah, weere, they probably are probably can noodling and rubbing noses.
- 26:11Speaker 7: No, we as sadly asn't into PDAs at all. I
- 26:14Speaker 7: ask them all the time. I'm like, can you hold
- 26:16Speaker 7: my hand? Can you like kiss my neck? Like any
- 26:17Speaker 7: of the ship from the beginning, we're so we're like
- 26:20Speaker 7: old bickering.
- 26:21Speaker 2: You guys have touched at the hip. You might not
- 26:23Speaker 2: have been like all over each other, but you got
- 26:26Speaker 2: pretty like, eh, this is my person.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I wait, go back to the story. Go back to
- 26:30Speaker 1: this story, because I I I I love Holy shit,
- 26:35Speaker 1: I am about to open on Broadway and I'm not ready,
- 26:37Speaker 1: and it was I was not ready.
- 26:38Speaker 7: I've never run it. I'd never run it. I mean
- 26:41Speaker 7: when they when you do, see Okay. My understanding is
- 26:44Speaker 7: if you originate a Broadway character, which I've never done,
- 26:46Speaker 7: you get a ton of rehearsal, there's workshops, there's notes
- 26:49Speaker 7: in all this. But if you're a pudd in, which
- 26:51Speaker 7: is what we were, you get just put into people
- 26:54Speaker 7: who came out of a show that already works, that's
- 26:56Speaker 7: up and running.
- 26:56Speaker 1: So explain to people that don't know theater at all, Yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 1: what are your When do you rehearse on your own?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Of course, and you rehearse with the musical director, but
- 27:03Speaker 1: when are you rehearsing with the cast before you go
- 27:06Speaker 1: live in from an audience?
- 27:07Speaker 7: You rehearse with the understudies for about a week in
- 27:11Speaker 7: change before and then you rehearse with the stage manager
- 27:14Speaker 7: who's sort of playing like fifteen roles, which is just
- 27:18Speaker 7: on in a rehearsal studio that's just taped out the
- 27:21Speaker 7: size of the stage. And then you get one put
- 27:25Speaker 7: in rehearsal the day of your opening on a moving
- 27:30Speaker 7: set that has revolving floors. You've never done it with
- 27:34Speaker 7: the real cast. I'd never done it with the band.
- 27:37Speaker 5: Nothing.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Wait, I'm getting so nervous. You did this? You get
- 27:40Speaker 1: what did you ever rehearse with the band before you
- 27:43Speaker 1: went on the stage that day?
- 27:46Speaker 7: You get one put in rehearsal with the band on
- 27:48Speaker 7: the stage with all the real props, with the cast
- 27:52Speaker 7: one and then you do it that night And I
- 27:55Speaker 7: can remember standing backstage, I had a seven month old baby,
- 27:59Speaker 7: and I was saying, this might be TMI, but my
- 28:02Speaker 7: mantra was, you pushed a baby out of your vagina,
- 28:05Speaker 7: you could do this.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Like I just was like.
- 28:10Speaker 7: I already face Yeah, I had already faced my biggest fear,
- 28:14Speaker 7: which was birthing a person and like surviving to tell
- 28:18Speaker 7: the story. And that was already scary enough from like
- 28:21Speaker 7: those seventh grade health videos of what birth looks like.
- 28:24Speaker 7: But anyway, I survived that, and I was like, then
- 28:26Speaker 7: I can do this. But actually this was worse. This
- 28:29Speaker 7: was worse than birth. This was worse.
- 28:30Speaker 1: This was Wait, when you when you're in the pocket
- 28:33Speaker 1: and you're feeling it and you're getting laughs, do you
- 28:35Speaker 1: start to get confident.
- 28:38Speaker 7: As soon as as soon as you guys know you're
- 28:42Speaker 7: such gamer.
- 28:43Speaker 1: We've both done theater, and I can say for me,
- 28:47Speaker 1: every single show, I was nervous until I got a
- 28:49Speaker 1: first laugh, and then I'd be like, Okay, they're with me.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Now, that's how you that's how you knew that how
- 28:54Speaker 2: the night was gonna go if I got you know,
- 28:57Speaker 2: I remember I opened up a play with the first
- 29:00Speaker 2: line and.
- 29:02Speaker 3: The nights that I didn't get to laugh and there wasn't.
- 29:05Speaker 3: There wasn't a lot of them. There wasn't.
- 29:07Speaker 5: Oh god, that's because you're a genius.
- 29:09Speaker 2: But few but the one, two, three, four times that
- 29:13Speaker 2: I didn't, Oh my god, I knew right there now
- 29:16Speaker 2: this is going to be a long fucking good this
- 29:19Speaker 2: is going to be a long night.
- 29:21Speaker 7: There's nothing like like, I'm such a I didn't know
- 29:24Speaker 7: I was ever going to do TV and film, like I.
- 29:27Speaker 7: I grew up in New York, like my mother talks
- 29:28Speaker 7: like this, I grew up in Ozone Park, Queens like
- 29:31Speaker 7: I just thought I was going to be a Broadway kid,
- 29:34Speaker 7: come hell of high water. Like I remember my mother
- 29:36Speaker 7: being like, you should take drivers ed and I was like, why,
- 29:39Speaker 7: I'm going to live in New York forever. I'm never
- 29:40Speaker 7: going to fucking drive a car. It doesn't matter. And
- 29:44Speaker 7: by twenty four now in New York, I was so
- 29:48Speaker 7: over waiting tables, and I had done off Broadway, you know,
- 29:51Speaker 7: off Broadway for two hundred and fifty dollars a week,
- 29:53Speaker 7: a million times over. And then someone was like, I
- 29:55Speaker 7: think you should try LA for three months, and I
- 29:58Speaker 7: did and told my parents I'd be home in three months.
- 30:01Speaker 5: And then I just never went home, I met my husband.
- 30:04Speaker 7: Right you know, you start getting I didn't get anything
- 30:07Speaker 7: right away.
- 30:07Speaker 5: I waitressed here too forever. You guys were would you?
- 30:10Speaker 5: Were you guys regulars at Ammo? I feel like I
- 30:12Speaker 5: must have waited on you.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Where's AMMO at?
- 30:14Speaker 7: Amma was on Highland just north of Santa Monica Boulevard.
- 30:18Speaker 5: It was a.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Big Now it's salts Care.
- 30:21Speaker 5: That's exactly right, Zach, because.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I'm an investor in Saltz Care, so I know exactly
- 30:26Speaker 1: where AMMO is.
- 30:27Speaker 5: Okay, So AMMA was like I.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Actually never really went there, but I know maybe once
- 30:31Speaker 1: or twice, but I remember it was a hotspot.
- 30:33Speaker 7: It was a big power hour lunch, like producers and
- 30:37Speaker 7: you know, directors and people would meet there because Highland
- 30:40Speaker 7: was in between studios in the valley and studios and how.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Coming from Paramount, it was perfect exactly.
- 30:46Speaker 5: So I waited there forever.
- 30:47Speaker 7: But you know, I kept getting like, oh, you're testing,
- 30:50Speaker 7: you're testing, and so it felt like if I went
- 30:51Speaker 7: home to New York, like I was quitting or something.
- 30:53Speaker 7: But theater is always going to be my it's my love.
- 30:57Speaker 7: But to bring it back around, there's nothing more than
- 31:00Speaker 7: every time I sign up to do a play on
- 31:02Speaker 7: backstage every night, every performance, saying why did I do
- 31:05Speaker 7: this to myself? Why would I put myself through this?
- 31:07Speaker 7: This is insane? Why would I put myself out there
- 31:10Speaker 7: to be judged by people?
- 31:12Speaker 1: And with seven thirty, Right in seven thirty, you hear
- 31:15Speaker 1: this is your half hour call. This is your half
- 31:17Speaker 1: hour call, and right then you're like, why did I
- 31:19Speaker 1: sign up for this?
- 31:21Speaker 2: I just I just remember when they when that call
- 31:24Speaker 2: would come out, this is the half hour call.
- 31:26Speaker 3: I would take the script out and.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Go over every fucking line or at speed through the
- 31:32Speaker 2: whole fucking thing, because I did not want to forget anything.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Let me just go through this ship one more time,
- 31:37Speaker 3: just to make sure.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Yeah, even I've done on so many performances.
- 31:40Speaker 2: So many I don't want to mess up. I don't
- 31:43Speaker 2: want to lose, you know what I mean? I remember
- 31:44Speaker 2: that speaking of uh being what did you call the
- 31:50Speaker 2: term being a put in?
- 31:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 31:52Speaker 5: Put in? I never heard that, but.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the first time I ever heard of that.
- 31:57Speaker 2: We had an understudy on the We had a bunch
- 32:00Speaker 2: of understudies, and we never I never met the understudies ever.
- 32:04Speaker 2: I think we met them once, right, and we never
- 32:07Speaker 2: rehearsed with them or anything. And this guy, it's crazy,
- 32:12Speaker 2: this guy marcelle Spears, who's now on the neighborhood. He
- 32:17Speaker 2: played this character in the play called Slenderman. It was
- 32:21Speaker 2: we were doing Picasso the Lapanagile. We played Slenderman. And
- 32:26Speaker 2: it's the hardest part in the show because you have
- 32:28Speaker 2: to come in for one scene and kill it and
- 32:33Speaker 2: then are off stage. Hardest part in the show, and
- 32:37Speaker 2: everybody wants to do that part because it's also the.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Funniest part in the show too.
- 32:41Speaker 5: Right.
- 32:42Speaker 2: The understudy comes in and we've never rehearsed with the understudy.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Marcel's in, Marcel's in La testing for the neighborhood or
- 32:56Speaker 2: some shit like that, or one of this shows. No,
- 32:58Speaker 2: he did a show with evet Nicole Brown before that.
- 33:04Speaker 2: The understudy comes in and he has too we now
- 33:09Speaker 2: know he has two nights. The first night it's not
- 33:12Speaker 2: the same, dude, it's not the same at all, Like
- 33:14Speaker 2: it's it's just dead. The audience doesn't laugh or any.
- 33:19Speaker 8: Oh no, no, my god, and Marcel gets Marcel walks
- 33:25Speaker 8: off stage and gets standing ovations, you know what I mean,
- 33:28Speaker 8: Like that's how good he was in this this dude
- 33:31Speaker 8: comes in and leaves.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Hal Lindon has the line after Slenderman leaves, he goes,
- 33:38Speaker 2: what the hell was that? And that was the biggest
- 33:41Speaker 2: laugh that that line ever got. Oh my god, just
- 33:46Speaker 2: because so bad, so bad?
- 33:49Speaker 5: Oh God.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Now granted, the second night, the kid redeems himself. He
- 33:55Speaker 2: gets applause when he leaves, and you know, it was great,
- 33:59Speaker 2: But the first night it was, it was.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Well, it's such a big ask to go on stage.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I mean, an understudy has such a hard task because
- 34:09Speaker 1: they haven't done it. And they haven't you know, an
- 34:11Speaker 1: actor gets an actor who has the part, gets to
- 34:12Speaker 1: rehearse it, gets to.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Figure chemistry with the people, like, oh god, did you
- 34:18Speaker 5: guys get to the point. I got to the point.
- 34:19Speaker 7: I have to say, though, like I couldn't do it now,
- 34:22Speaker 7: but when Adam and I got it, and like I said,
- 34:23Speaker 7: I could only sing the song once. So when we
- 34:25Speaker 7: first started doing it, I honestly didn't know if I
- 34:27Speaker 7: could do eight shows a week. And I remember like
- 34:30Speaker 7: we were we were every morning like like just using
- 34:33Speaker 7: like sign language hands for everything to save your voice.
- 34:37Speaker 7: We weren't going out to any restaurants in New York
- 34:39Speaker 7: that were loud with friends who would come to see
- 34:42Speaker 7: the show, like absolutely not.
- 34:43Speaker 5: It was all about saving voice.
- 34:45Speaker 7: And I can remember I was paying this Broadway voice
- 34:48Speaker 7: coach ajillion dollars to keep my voice in check and
- 34:51Speaker 7: all this, and then I come into my dressing room
- 34:55Speaker 7: the first night and I have a personal nebulizer and
- 34:58Speaker 7: a scarf around my I mean, I am I am
- 35:02Speaker 7: playing the I mean, I am really doing this. And
- 35:05Speaker 7: I said to her, Oh, okay, this is my vocal
- 35:07Speaker 7: warm up. Like we're sharing a dressing room. I don't
- 35:09Speaker 7: know what private space you need, but like this is
- 35:11Speaker 7: my like no.
- 35:11Speaker 5: No, no, no no no, like.
- 35:13Speaker 7: Like doing all my stuff. And I was like, what's
- 35:15Speaker 7: your warm up? So I give you space? And this
- 35:17Speaker 7: is an amazing actress, Tony nominated, like Retha Franklin. Voice
- 35:21Speaker 7: incredible And she just looks at me and she was like,
- 35:23Speaker 7: I drink a PEPSI that's her one.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:27Speaker 7: And I was like, oh my god, I am fucked.
- 35:30Speaker 7: Like I can't do this.
- 35:31Speaker 3: I can't do this.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Who is who is the lead? Jenna?
- 35:35Speaker 5: Jenna?
- 35:36Speaker 1: Who did it?
- 35:37Speaker 7: We started with Kat McFee, which was wonderful.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I love He's perfect for it. By the way
- 35:43Speaker 1: I almost I almost was. Do you know that I
- 35:46Speaker 1: almost did the part with Kat McFee? Why did you
- 35:50Speaker 1: he may have been in the show together. You know
- 35:52Speaker 1: what happened. I got cold feet because I Saron knew
- 35:55Speaker 1: how much I love the show, and she eventually and
- 35:59Speaker 1: I'm daydream about dream daydreaming about it to everyone.
- 36:03Speaker 5: You would have been amazing.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I made it known that it was my daydream. But
- 36:07Speaker 1: you know what, I got cold feet because Drew Gailing
- 36:11Speaker 1: has the most insane voice, and he originated the role.
- 36:14Speaker 1: And I listened to the soundtrack and I'm like, I
- 36:16Speaker 1: just I would feel And I even said to Sarah,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I said, I can't sing like Drew. I can carry
- 36:21Speaker 1: a tune. She goes, It's okay, we'll make it. We'll
- 36:24Speaker 1: make it fit for you. And I was like, I know,
- 36:26Speaker 1: but the audience who's listened to the soundtrack and heard
- 36:29Speaker 1: Drew fucking Gailing, they're expecting like runs and harmonies and
- 36:34Speaker 1: all this stuff that it's just I can't sing like that.
- 36:37Speaker 5: And I loved you would have found others listen.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I would have found other stuff and I would have
- 36:42Speaker 1: made them laugh with my own thing. But I just
- 36:45Speaker 1: got in my head about about again. I'm not, I'm not.
- 36:49Speaker 1: This isn't false humility. I can carry a tune, but
- 36:52Speaker 1: Drew has a preposterous voice, and I just kind of
- 36:54Speaker 1: got in my head about it and I didn't.
- 36:56Speaker 2: That's like, that's like me saying, yo, you know what.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I always wanted to play Alphaba after after the seam.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Actually, Donald has I would love for once in his
- 37:13Speaker 1: life for Donald to do a Broadway musical because he
- 37:15Speaker 1: legit has a holy ship voice. I didn't only singing
- 37:20Speaker 1: these t mobile ads. We oh you know Clugman. Of
- 37:25Speaker 1: course we sing these ads. And then then they're like,
- 37:29Speaker 1: all right, Donald, would you mind laying down like seven harmonies?
- 37:33Speaker 1: And he does it. Donald comes up with the harmonies
- 37:35Speaker 1: with them, does them, and then I go to it singing.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I'm like, do you guys want me to lay down
- 37:39Speaker 1: any harmonies?
- 37:40Speaker 4: Like?
- 37:40Speaker 1: No, No, we're good. Thank you.
- 37:42Speaker 5: Were you a singer? Donald? Like you sing?
- 37:44Speaker 2: I was in a band when I was a kid,
- 37:47Speaker 2: and you know, I grew up in musical theater at
- 37:50Speaker 2: the National Black Theater and horror ship like that, and
- 37:53Speaker 2: so my parents performed all the time, and that was
- 37:57Speaker 2: our thing. We used to you know, you remember vacation
- 38:00Speaker 2: when they're on the road singing the Marty Moose song
- 38:05Speaker 2: or the.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Wally World song.
- 38:08Speaker 5: Yeah, so you just sang all the time. Oh, I
- 38:11Speaker 5: love that.
- 38:12Speaker 7: I have to say, I hope I get like I
- 38:13Speaker 7: would love to do it again because now, like I
- 38:17Speaker 7: have to say, by the end of it, like how
- 38:19Speaker 7: we started being so careful and freaked out. By the end,
- 38:22Speaker 7: I was like the rest of the bitches and the
- 38:24Speaker 7: chorus that was like I was out at all the restaurants,
- 38:27Speaker 7: so four o'clock nor I was smoking cigar, I.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Was drinking, I wasn't warming up. I didn't give a shit,
- 38:33Speaker 5: Like it.
- 38:33Speaker 7: Was so great because when you finally have done one
- 38:36Speaker 7: hundred and seventy five or two hundred and.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Fifty shows what happens to.
- 38:41Speaker 7: Your body and your chords is like it's like if
- 38:44Speaker 7: you did a hundred crunches every day, like obviously you
- 38:46Speaker 7: just get stronger and stronger. And I did my I
- 38:48Speaker 7: could just do it. I could just do it. I
- 38:50Speaker 7: could talk all night the night before gas bagging, blah
- 38:54Speaker 7: blah blah. So now that I know that, that's the thing,
- 38:57Speaker 7: I feel like if I ever got the opportunity to
- 38:59Speaker 7: do it again, and I would have a better time.
- 39:03Speaker 1: That's you can't do. I mean to me, like half
- 39:06Speaker 1: the fun of doing a Broadway show is the fun
- 39:09Speaker 1: you have after and going out with friends and all
- 39:12Speaker 1: the enjoying New York City together.
- 39:14Speaker 7: That's where I saw. I saw you at Bar Centrall
- 39:17Speaker 7: Zach or is it bars and Trolley? I don't even
- 39:19Speaker 7: know how you say whichever.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's one of my haunts.
- 39:22Speaker 5: That's my one haunts. My one of my haunts as well.
- 39:25Speaker 7: I was just coming off of I do like a
- 39:27Speaker 7: Broadway two weeks every year week I go see like every.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Show I try.
- 39:31Speaker 7: And I was coming off of Stereophonic, and you were
- 39:34Speaker 7: coming off of Inappropriate I think, or you had seen
- 39:36Speaker 7: Inappropriate the night before we.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Were on it. We were on the same.
- 39:41Speaker 7: Tray, we were cragging about. We were at Bar Centrall,
- 39:43Speaker 7: we were with casts. We were drinking the drinks. I'm
- 39:45Speaker 7: having my Negronie, I'm having my.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Fris collection the gronies too. You guys went away back
- 39:51Speaker 2: home to New York, to the Tri State area, and
- 39:54Speaker 2: somebody said, you know what you need to drink is
- 39:56Speaker 2: a motherfucking the GRONI and.
- 39:58Speaker 3: All y'allm up, y'all. Oh you Broadway types. I'm having
- 40:02Speaker 3: to Gronie, Oh, I love.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I want to say, our friend Preston Boyd. You know
- 40:07Speaker 1: Preston Boyd?
- 40:08Speaker 5: No, who's that.
- 40:09Speaker 1: He's our friend And he has the most insane voice
- 40:12Speaker 1: of anybody I know. And he was He just did
- 40:14Speaker 1: the Leyman's tour as Javert.
- 40:16Speaker 5: Wow.
- 40:17Speaker 1: And I said to him thing about I said, do
- 40:19Speaker 1: you ever want to play Jean Valjean because he has
- 40:23Speaker 1: the voice to do it? And he goes, no, I
- 40:25Speaker 1: mean the guy who plays Jean Valjean. I mean, he
- 40:27Speaker 1: really can't go out. He can't do anything. He's got
- 40:29Speaker 1: to be like he's like, he's like, he's like he's
- 40:33Speaker 1: got to go home. He's got to do all this
- 40:34Speaker 1: shit you're talking about nebulizers and los andes. He's like,
- 40:37Speaker 1: I want to go have fun, So like i'd better
- 40:39Speaker 1: play Javert. Yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 7: I agree that they also have all these like what
- 40:43Speaker 7: I loved about it too, they have all these people,
- 40:45Speaker 7: like they have the like Broadway doctor that comes and
- 40:50Speaker 7: shoots you up with steroids when you lose your voice.
- 40:52Speaker 7: They have the Broadway doctor that stops by and shoots
- 40:54Speaker 7: B twelve shots, like and everyone's asked to get through
- 40:57Speaker 7: a five show weekend. You're really like part of a
- 40:59Speaker 7: whole whole system of insanity.
- 41:03Speaker 1: But singing with a band, I mean, how fun. I
- 41:05Speaker 1: mean I did Bullet of a Broadway and well it
- 41:09Speaker 1: was great. We had a twenty five piece orchestra, I mean,
- 41:11Speaker 1: and it was just like it was one of the
- 41:13Speaker 1: highest highs of my life.
- 41:14Speaker 7: Oh, I love that, guys. We should do Waitress in
- 41:18Speaker 7: La starring us. Let's check Sarah brellas right now. We
- 41:23Speaker 7: could just do like a four limited show engagement.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Donald could sing the Doctor Palmerer part like a motherfucker.
- 41:30Speaker 1: We should do that because I remember McPhee was who
- 41:34Speaker 1: they were thinking I was going to be opposite of,
- 41:37Speaker 1: and then who came on after mci.
- 41:38Speaker 5: Then we had Nicolette Robinson. Oh, yes, I know her,
- 41:43Speaker 5: who is amazing and married her Donald.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Oh, she has an insane voice and she's married.
- 41:50Speaker 5: To Leslie Odom Junior.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Leslie Odom Junior.
- 41:53Speaker 2: So when there was a Smash, it was like a
- 41:55Speaker 2: Smash reunion.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Are you into Smash?
- 41:58Speaker 1: Oh? We both love Smash.
- 42:00Speaker 3: You went to Smash.
- 42:01Speaker 5: I'm the most into Smash, you know.
- 42:02Speaker 1: When I went and did a Broadway show. But I
- 42:04Speaker 1: went and when I went and did a Broadway show,
- 42:07Speaker 1: I was so into Smash And I went to like
- 42:09Speaker 1: all the all the dancers and everyone saying, so are
- 42:10Speaker 1: you guys watching Smash? And They're like, no, what the
- 42:13Speaker 1: fuck are you talking about? And I was like, I
- 42:16Speaker 1: was so geeked to talk Smash with.
- 42:18Speaker 2: I ran up, I ran up on the guy from
- 42:21Speaker 2: the dude that what's the guy that dates?
- 42:22Speaker 7: Uh?
- 42:23Speaker 3: Why am I forgetting names? Right now?
- 42:26Speaker 7: If I Lexington fifty second Street, that's the one I
- 42:30Speaker 7: always say.
- 42:31Speaker 2: I love because history was made at night. Son turned
- 42:37Speaker 2: out the nights and listen.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Donald, you know the musical of the show, know.
- 42:43Speaker 7: Can we.
- 42:45Speaker 3: Did you know?
- 42:46Speaker 1: You didn't know?
- 42:47Speaker 3: Oh?
- 42:47Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 42:48Speaker 1: Smash? Smash the musical is set to open on Broadway.
- 42:51Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, just starring my friend cast. It has a
- 42:56Speaker 7: great cast, like solid, solid cast.
- 42:58Speaker 5: We should all go.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Who was playing McFee?
- 43:01Speaker 7: Hold on, let's look this separation audition for McFee. You
- 43:04Speaker 7: definitely should have. And I will never forget Smash on Broadway. Wait,
- 43:09Speaker 7: hold on, I will never.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Forget such a crush on her on that show.
- 43:13Speaker 7: Oh she was the hottest of the hot are you
- 43:17Speaker 7: she also is let me be stuff, come on like
- 43:25Speaker 7: that was sanger. Well, I've embarrassed the ship out of
- 43:29Speaker 7: myself and I'm gonna look up in one second. But
- 43:30Speaker 7: when I I embarrassed myself when I I was at
- 43:34Speaker 7: an upfront party and Leslie Odam Junior was there and
- 43:37Speaker 7: this is pre Hamilton.
- 43:39Speaker 5: Pre anything before he was a household name.
- 43:42Speaker 7: Before any of this, and I went running up to
- 43:44Speaker 7: him and I said, your work on smash is.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Serious.
- 43:53Speaker 4: I was.
- 43:53Speaker 5: I was like, I was like, whatever.
- 43:55Speaker 7: The drink before Nigrony was in New York, whatever it was,
- 43:58Speaker 7: I was on it. And I was saying to him
- 44:01Speaker 7: that my husband and I your words.
- 44:04Speaker 5: Oh, I clutched my pearls.
- 44:05Speaker 7: And I've seen him recently and we still talk about
- 44:08Speaker 7: it and I still bring it up and he remembers it,
- 44:10Speaker 7: and he was like he thought I was kind of joking.
- 44:14Speaker 7: I think, but wait, okay, hold on this cast is
- 44:17Speaker 7: it look? The photos look amazing. I think we should go.
- 44:20Speaker 2: I think I just can't believe that it made it
- 44:22Speaker 2: to Broadway. It's a great idea, dude, That's what the
- 44:26Speaker 2: show is about.
- 44:27Speaker 1: You. They're Broadway, They're not doing this. You're clear they're
- 44:32Speaker 1: not doing the show within the show they're doing. They're
- 44:35Speaker 1: doing the whole They're doing the idea of like a
- 44:37Speaker 1: company trying to launch a musical.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Yes, I know, I know that, but that was the
- 44:42Speaker 3: when I first.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Heard about it, I was like, Oh, I hope they're
- 44:44Speaker 1: not just doing the show.
- 44:47Speaker 7: Marilyn Monroe Chrystal Rodriguez, who was originally in the TV
- 44:52Speaker 7: show too, and I've seen her in a million Broadway shows.
- 44:54Speaker 7: She's in it too. She's playing Tracy. I don't remember
- 44:56Speaker 7: anybody's names, but here's I remember when they made the
- 44:59Speaker 7: Tea V show that the intention was that there was
- 45:02Speaker 7: if it was a success, which it wasn't.
- 45:04Speaker 5: Our hearts and minds.
- 45:06Speaker 3: There were two seasons.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Hey, we were the only three people watching it, We
- 45:11Speaker 1: really were.
- 45:12Speaker 7: But I thought the original idea was that it was
- 45:15Speaker 7: supposed to always be a Broadway show too.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Yeah am I, But back then it may have been
- 45:21Speaker 1: that they were going to then launch the shows in
- 45:23Speaker 1: the show.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Right, But they didn't season right.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Season two, they completely scrapped the show and it's no
- 45:30Speaker 2: longer in existence.
- 45:31Speaker 1: And these guys are a smash rewatch podcast.
- 45:35Speaker 7: Oh my god, can I be a guest can I
- 45:37Speaker 7: be there would.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Be no audience of four of us would be the
- 45:41Speaker 1: only audience.
- 45:42Speaker 3: It would be.
- 45:43Speaker 1: It would us and mcpee. Listen.
- 45:47Speaker 2: The cast is so.
- 45:49Speaker 5: Good that, like I on became stars the stars, Let
- 45:53Speaker 5: me be your star.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Do you know brook Know who's that Brooks hysterical Broadway
- 46:01Speaker 1: character actor. He's very gay and very flamboyant, and he's
- 46:06Speaker 1: fucking hilarious. And he's playing the director.
- 46:09Speaker 4: I know who he is.
- 46:10Speaker 7: Yes, he's playing the director in the musical.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that's one aspect they've changed from the show. I
- 46:17Speaker 1: texted him when there was a press release. I go,
- 46:19Speaker 1: who are you playing? McPhee and he goes, no, I'm
- 46:21Speaker 1: the director.
- 46:23Speaker 5: Oh my god, I think it's gonna be.
- 46:27Speaker 7: I mean, I'm impressed that they've gotten the funding and everything.
- 46:30Speaker 7: I mean, to make a Broadway musical is so expensive.
- 46:34Speaker 7: It's like so that somebody must believe that there's an audience.
- 46:38Speaker 1: I will be seated, Katie Os, I will be seated.
- 46:41Speaker 7: I will be as well like front. Okay, let's find
- 46:43Speaker 7: out when it opens. But anyway, let's take a break.
- 46:46Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. All right,
- 46:55Speaker 1: let's talk about other things since we only have you
- 46:57Speaker 1: a limited time.
- 46:57Speaker 5: Sorry, sorry, I can talk about Broadway.
- 46:59Speaker 1: I have to admit something. I never watched Scandal, but
- 47:02Speaker 1: I know that that was your big breakthrough.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Yes, and I love on.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Where I can contribute is that that Tony Goldwyn is
- 47:12Speaker 1: one of my favorite people on the planet.
- 47:14Speaker 9: Oh my god.
- 47:15Speaker 1: And he's the nicest person I've ever met.
- 47:17Speaker 4: That was my.
- 47:20Speaker 5: That was my meet cute with you, if we can
- 47:23Speaker 5: use that word.
- 47:24Speaker 1: I remember bond over Tony Goldman.
- 47:26Speaker 5: Yes, we were at Brian Klugman's beach shack.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Yes, and we were Brian Clugman for those of you
- 47:33Speaker 1: the audience, Just to remind you, he's our friend, but
- 47:35Speaker 1: also the don draper of all things t Mobile. He
- 47:38Speaker 1: writes all the tim Oblads and Katie knows him.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:42Speaker 7: I'd like to be an extra in the next spot
- 47:44Speaker 7: you do. Thanks so much, Brian Klugman. Thanks for listening.
- 47:46Speaker 5: Anyway.
- 47:47Speaker 7: I love Brian Klugman. He has been a friend of
- 47:49Speaker 7: my husband's for a million years. They grew up together
- 47:51Speaker 7: in Philadelphia. They're big Eagles people and my husband.
- 47:54Speaker 1: They're very excited because the Eagles are in those Super Bowl.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Oh I haven't.
- 47:57Speaker 7: My husband has a Philadelphia soft pretzel company called shape
- 48:00Speaker 7: Be Pretzel.
- 48:00Speaker 1: That wait, let's do that as an aside rule. Okay,
- 48:02Speaker 1: because this story is fascinating.
- 48:04Speaker 5: Sorry, So Tony, Yes, he's the best ever. And what
- 48:08Speaker 5: I went up to I was like, I think.
- 48:09Speaker 7: We're friends with the same person, Tony Goldwin, and we
- 48:11Speaker 7: shared a sun set on the beach moment, just sharing
- 48:13Speaker 7: our love fest of Tony Goldwin.
- 48:14Speaker 5: Okay, shaffy pretzel, Okay, let's talk about shappy pretzels.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Your husband created a hard pretzel because he loves them
- 48:22Speaker 1: from Philadelphia, right, Yeah, and they and he couldn't find
- 48:26Speaker 1: one that he thought was great out here. And it
- 48:29Speaker 1: started during COVID, as I understand it, because he needed
- 48:32Speaker 1: something to do, and it became very, very popular, so
- 48:36Speaker 1: much so that now it's a very popular hard pretzel brand.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Soft pretzel.
- 48:41Speaker 1: But that's all right, I fucked up everything but the texture.
- 48:44Speaker 5: Hey, it's totally cool. Yes.
- 48:47Speaker 7: In COVID, we realized we had a young our son
- 48:50Speaker 7: was probably two or three at the time. We were like, fuck,
- 48:52Speaker 7: we're never getting back to Philly. You're never going to
- 48:54Speaker 7: get a Philadelphia soft pretzel. My husband, we were bored
- 48:56Speaker 7: out of our minds. He just everyone was doing sourdough.
- 48:59Speaker 7: My husband was doing like every day figuring out how
- 49:02Speaker 7: to perfect the art of making a Philadelphia soft pretzel
- 49:04Speaker 7: in our oven.
- 49:05Speaker 5: Every day.
- 49:05Speaker 7: People from Philly are just driving up past our house
- 49:08Speaker 7: and Adam's like, try it, try it, try it, try it.
- 49:11Speaker 7: Four or five months go by and someone's like, holy shit,
- 49:13Speaker 7: I think you've got it.
- 49:14Speaker 1: He cracked it.
- 49:15Speaker 5: He cracked it. And then I was hosting.
- 49:19Speaker 7: I was standing in for Kelly Rippa when she goes
- 49:22Speaker 7: on vacation, which I was doing a bunch of at
- 49:24Speaker 7: that time with Seacrest, and we were shooting it in
- 49:26Speaker 7: our living room because that's what everyone was doing over
- 49:29Speaker 7: zoom at that time, and Seacrest was like, what's Adam
- 49:32Speaker 7: been up to. I said, he's perfecting the art of
- 49:34Speaker 7: making the Philadelphia soft pretzel.
- 49:36Speaker 5: We sent him some the next day he ate them
- 49:38Speaker 5: on air.
- 49:39Speaker 7: Adam just said, Adam Shapiro is his name, but Shappie's
- 49:42Speaker 7: been his nickname since Sleepway Camp when he's.
- 49:44Speaker 5: Eight years old.
- 49:45Speaker 7: But he just bought Shappy Pretzel at gmail dot com
- 49:48Speaker 7: and Shappy Pretzel dot com and the only thing on
- 49:50Speaker 7: the website was your mall's pretzel. Can go fuck itself
- 49:55Speaker 7: and we have sold were the pretzels at the oscars
- 49:59Speaker 7: underneath five thousand feet shat the we're it fucking so far.
- 50:03Speaker 7: We're a pladium where it will turn shut and so
- 50:08Speaker 7: we're we just realized that it's almost a five year
- 50:11Speaker 7: old company. It's a total side hustle, but it exists.
- 50:15Speaker 7: It's like Adam's worked a bunch acting since then. We
- 50:17Speaker 7: have all these fucking pretzel employees. We've everyone knows where
- 50:20Speaker 7: I live.
- 50:21Speaker 1: People work for the company.
- 50:22Speaker 5: We have nine employees.
- 50:24Speaker 7: We have a shabby pretzel truck with my husband's face
- 50:26Speaker 7: on the side of it, parked outside of our fucking house.
- 50:28Speaker 5: So everyone knows where we.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Everyone comes by story though, so where does the audience
- 50:35Speaker 1: get them if they want to try?
- 50:36Speaker 7: So We're on gold Belly so you can get them
- 50:38Speaker 7: shipped around the entire country and like the order because
- 50:42Speaker 7: when the Eagles make the Super Bowl, it is I mean,
- 50:45Speaker 7: my husband has is not sleeping this week, like it's over,
- 50:48Speaker 7: it's done.
- 50:48Speaker 1: We have the wait. If I'm in anywhere in the country,
- 50:52Speaker 1: I go to gold Belly.
- 50:53Speaker 7: What's called goldbelly dot com is like where you can
- 50:56Speaker 7: get any of your favorite foods that are only like
- 50:58Speaker 7: local to serve play like if you're like I only
- 51:01Speaker 7: like wings from this place, they might be on gold Belly.
- 51:03Speaker 7: So gold Belly is it's like if you like a
- 51:06Speaker 7: Russian daughter's bagel.
- 51:07Speaker 1: You can go on a russ daughter's bagel a good example.
- 51:11Speaker 7: Yeah, you're welcome. So now you can go on gold
- 51:13Speaker 7: Belly and you can get it shipped to you. So
- 51:15Speaker 7: all of his pretzels are shipped around the country. But
- 51:17Speaker 7: also if you're in the LA area, which it's l
- 51:20Speaker 7: a no no Philly Bourne, La bread is the long
- 51:25Speaker 7: one because he's smart.
- 51:26Speaker 1: But how do you spell shappy for those s h
- 51:30Speaker 1: a p p y s h a p p y.
- 51:33Speaker 1: So if you're in the LA Area, you can go
- 51:34Speaker 1: to shappies.
- 51:36Speaker 5: Shappy Pretzel dot com.
- 51:37Speaker 7: We're out of canters, which is a legendary canters.
- 51:42Speaker 1: To you speak like every girl I grew up with and.
- 51:47Speaker 5: Im Long Island.
- 51:48Speaker 1: You're reminding me, you're reminding me.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Notice it's not Long Island, it's Long Island.
- 51:53Speaker 5: Long Islands. That's right.
- 51:55Speaker 1: The more you talk, the more I'm just reminiscent of
- 51:57Speaker 1: like Hebrew School and oh yeah, j oh.
- 52:00Speaker 7: Yeah, oh my god, I mean, I I was home
- 52:03Speaker 7: in New York this weekend and I was like, oh god,
- 52:05Speaker 7: this is like so crazy like my mother has. But anyway,
- 52:08Speaker 7: so shappy Pretzel dot Com was a shappy Pretzel was
- 52:11Speaker 7: a huge just crazy falling ass backwards into this other
- 52:17Speaker 7: business that we now run.
- 52:18Speaker 5: It's why it.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Must be profitable. Are you making meaningful money off of them?
- 52:22Speaker 3: I mean, I mean they're at the they're at the oscars.
- 52:25Speaker 1: At the Oscars.
- 52:27Speaker 5: You know, food business and perishable food is is you
- 52:30Speaker 5: know what.
- 52:31Speaker 7: It's not an act, it's not an acting producing directing,
- 52:34Speaker 7: but it's you know what it provides in so many
- 52:37Speaker 7: other ways.
- 52:37Speaker 1: It's it's amazing. Listen. Why don't you go on Shark Tank.
- 52:43Speaker 7: Know all the Shark Tank people well between us and
- 52:47Speaker 7: everyone listening, just the people listening way beyond that and
- 52:52Speaker 7: the sharks who we know in our Pretzel clients have
- 52:55Speaker 7: told us that we are we don't need, like we're
- 52:59Speaker 7: way beyond that.
- 53:00Speaker 2: You're beyond Oh yeah yeah, hold on, hold on now,
- 53:04Speaker 2: how about making some really good money we just.
- 53:08Speaker 7: Don't need, Like we're not going to give up, Like
- 53:10Speaker 7: we don't need to give up. We have so many
- 53:12Speaker 7: people who want to invest because I want to invest.
- 53:16Speaker 5: They love Philly there.
- 53:18Speaker 7: Thank you call Adam. I'll give you his number. But anyway,
- 53:21Speaker 7: I love it. But anyway, it's just we don't need it,
- 53:23Speaker 7: like you know, people go on shark ting because they're
- 53:25Speaker 7: from a small town and they don't have connections like
- 53:28Speaker 7: you know Adam from Klugman.
- 53:30Speaker 5: I mean Bradley Cooper and him.
- 53:31Speaker 7: Text every day, like there's so many Philly people who
- 53:34Speaker 7: are love the company.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Right well, I want I want Bradley Shares before Bradley. Okay,
- 53:39Speaker 1: I'm off from Philly, but I would like to.
- 53:41Speaker 5: But any way, New Jersey, which is close, but what.
- 53:44Speaker 1: About I feel like, uh, you could beat that. What's
- 53:47Speaker 1: that brand that's in every.
- 53:48Speaker 5: Airport Annans or Wetsels.
- 53:53Speaker 7: By the way, when I go to the Fashion Square
- 53:55Speaker 7: Square mall here in the valley where we live, and
- 53:58Speaker 7: my kids want What's which they no, no excuse me?
- 54:02Speaker 7: And Annie Ans which I always want. They always want it.
- 54:05Speaker 7: And my parents run into people that they want the
- 54:08Speaker 7: little cinnamon nuggets. And whenever I run into people and
- 54:11Speaker 7: we're holding those bags, people take pictures. They're like, look
- 54:14Speaker 7: at you cheating on you likes you know, you.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Know you know why your kids love that so much
- 54:20Speaker 2: because of Marriam what Mariam did that.
- 54:24Speaker 7: Donald and I also shared the most sacred mutual thing,
- 54:29Speaker 7: which is our nanny who helped raise his babies, who
- 54:33Speaker 7: helped raise my babies.
- 54:35Speaker 5: I got after you got.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you, she left us and went to you is
- 54:41Speaker 3: what happened?
- 54:42Speaker 1: You didn't you didn't. And Miriam likes wetzels pretzels.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Well, she would take the kids to the mall yeah
- 54:48Speaker 3: and feed them.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Freak has shoppies. Pretzels gone into the uh the the
- 54:56Speaker 1: sweet world. Yet with cinnamon and sugar.
- 54:59Speaker 7: Those are called little out which is my son's name.
- 55:02Speaker 7: My son's name is Albi. He works with the Shappy Pretzel.
- 55:04Speaker 7: He works at Shappy Pretzel on Saturdays. He gets two
- 55:06Speaker 7: dollars an hour.
- 55:07Speaker 1: He's so cut about gluten free. Gluten free. So here's
- 55:11Speaker 1: the big those of us tummy.
- 55:14Speaker 5: Yeah, so here's the big reveal. There is not.
- 55:16Speaker 7: However, I was diagnosed. Oh wow, this is really getting personal, guys, listens.
- 55:24Speaker 7: I was diagnosed with I have no symptoms.
- 55:27Speaker 5: It's silent, silent Celiac silence monny.
- 55:31Speaker 7: Second, and I can no longer eat gluten for the
- 55:34Speaker 7: rest of my life. My husband was in tears. He
- 55:36Speaker 7: was like, I'm the You're my pretzel queen, and now
- 55:39Speaker 7: he is being forced into figuring out how to deliver
- 55:43Speaker 7: to me, to the Los Angeles community and the world
- 55:47Speaker 7: a gluten free saw Philadelphia pretzel, which maybe, then, Zach,
- 55:50Speaker 7: we might be billionaires if.
- 55:52Speaker 4: We crack back.
- 55:54Speaker 1: I got to tell you, listen, I'll be it. I
- 55:57Speaker 1: love soft pretzels, but I do have a sense if
- 56:00Speaker 1: I'm not chiliact, but I have a gluten sensitivity, and
- 56:03Speaker 1: I could I could have a bite and be like,
- 56:05Speaker 1: oh my god, but if I eat a whole one,
- 56:07Speaker 1: I'd have stomach cramps.
- 56:08Speaker 4: Sure.
- 56:08Speaker 7: Well, so he's going to break it, and why don't
- 56:11Speaker 7: you come will be the taste testers for the gluten
- 56:14Speaker 7: free soft pretzel.
- 56:15Speaker 5: I he's got to get through Eagles.
- 56:18Speaker 1: They have to win, and then we need to move
- 56:20Speaker 1: on to I didn't know that soft pretzels were of Philadelphia.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Think I'm sorry.
- 56:26Speaker 5: I didn't really either.
- 56:27Speaker 3: In New York, Yeah, Nathan's has a pretzel differently.
- 56:33Speaker 7: There's the New York or Bavarian shaped, which is like
- 56:36Speaker 7: the steals are Bavarian shaped, and the shappy the Philadelphia
- 56:43Speaker 7: pretzels are more on their side and more long, and
- 56:46Speaker 7: they're linked and you rip them apart. Okay, I know
- 56:50Speaker 7: I'm gonna I'm going to show you guys, like so
- 56:52Speaker 7: that you understand like what we're working with, because then
- 56:55Speaker 7: you're going to realize.
- 56:55Speaker 5: That every pretzel you've ever had is a piece of crap.
- 57:00Speaker 5: That's what you need to know.
- 57:01Speaker 7: You really haven't had what this looks like like they
- 57:06Speaker 7: look like this connected. Can you see this?
- 57:12Speaker 5: And you and you buy like.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Four and you rip them apart and you put mustard
- 57:16Speaker 1: on it, right you.
- 57:17Speaker 7: Put we also have shabby pretzel mustard both golden and
- 57:20Speaker 7: your mouth is.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Water Mustard on my mouth is watering. Right now, It's.
- 57:25Speaker 5: Really really been a weird, bizarre thing.
- 57:28Speaker 1: But you know you do what about hot dog buns?
- 57:33Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 57:34Speaker 1: Yeah, we expand pretzels experience, Yeah.
- 57:40Speaker 7: We do, and we have like we have I mean,
- 57:42Speaker 7: look and also to be crazy, I know this is
- 57:45Speaker 7: this is turning all into an Adam LoveFest. But and yay,
- 57:48Speaker 7: scandal whatever, but I'm just saying, I Adam, I really
- 57:52Speaker 7: Adam recurs on the bear and I and I think
- 57:56Speaker 7: so much of that is because he's in this like
- 57:58Speaker 7: food world now, like as was.
- 58:01Speaker 1: The genesis of him getting that part. I mean, other
- 58:03Speaker 1: than being a good actor.
- 58:04Speaker 7: Well well we he auditioned, but they were so like
- 58:07Speaker 7: into the pretzel phenomenon, and they were they have so
- 58:10Speaker 7: many chefs around the show, and.
- 58:13Speaker 5: You know, he's just really now like a foodie.
- 58:16Speaker 7: He like travels and makes little social media videos tryings.
- 58:20Speaker 7: He's got like a real snack. He never grew up
- 58:24Speaker 7: from college trash snack food.
- 58:26Speaker 5: It's what he specialized. So now he just like shoots
- 58:30Speaker 5: all this content.
- 58:31Speaker 7: But I really think a big part of the bear
- 58:33Speaker 7: you know, they like having food food people around that have.
- 58:36Speaker 5: Sort of like made a staple, and they really liked
- 58:39Speaker 5: his I think it was a combo.
- 58:40Speaker 7: I think it was the acting and I think it
- 58:42Speaker 7: was also they were so blown away by his crazy story.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Joels, did you watch Scandal? Because I don't want to
- 58:49Speaker 1: give Scandal short shrift.
- 58:51Speaker 4: I just don't know, yes, Scandal.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Scandal related questions.
- 59:03Speaker 7: I love Casey, Oh my god, I love her so
- 59:05Speaker 7: much because Nicole Chavez, her best friend, is also my stylist.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Yes, which is the show was hot and heavy, right,
- 59:11Speaker 1: there was lots of sex.
- 59:12Speaker 5: I had so much sex on that show.
- 59:14Speaker 1: I was I ever jealous when you were having fake
- 59:17Speaker 1: TV sex.
- 59:18Speaker 7: You know, we get asked that a lot, and you know,
- 59:21Speaker 7: when he married me, he felt like, oh shit, like
- 59:24Speaker 7: I'm kind of falling for the girl that always has
- 59:27Speaker 7: like a love story surrounding her and this is just
- 59:30Speaker 7: going to be like a part of this.
- 59:32Speaker 5: And he, you know, he doesn't really get that kind
- 59:35Speaker 5: of part, but he actually has.
- 59:37Speaker 4: He has now.
- 59:40Speaker 5: He's just got to fucking close his eyes and deal
- 59:42Speaker 5: with it. Man, I mean the check clears, you know,
- 59:44Speaker 5: like get over it. I mean that's my job. And
- 59:48Speaker 5: like it's fucking awkward anyway. He knows it. I know it,
- 59:51Speaker 5: like I just you know, I think he was on
- 59:56Speaker 5: that show. I was very lucky to be paired with a.
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: Much older gentleman George Newburn that we love it as
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: a dear friend, and he probably wasn't much threatened by
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: although he's a very handsome catch for everybody listening, and
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: he's actly married build. But my other lovengers on the
- 1:00:11Speaker 7: show that I had dirty, dirty sex scenes with his
- 1:00:13Speaker 7: Giermo Diaz.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: You're finished, okay, you know, so check this out.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: It's such a fucking small world. Not only did I
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: have sex with him.
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: No.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Look, it's such a small world.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: So Guillermo and I did a short film back in
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: the day before we were large call Busted with Lauren Hill,
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: who went to high school with Zach Braff.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: The Circle, Circle of Love.
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: That musical still holds on.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: I'm just saying New York, the Tri State area is
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: well represented in this In this podcast today, I'm just
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: put it out there.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: So we want Busted somewhere? Is it like somewhere to
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: be seen?
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think you can watch Busted somewhere unless
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: like my I think my mom owns it. But he
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: played the usher of the movie theater where the crack
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: head got with a crack dealer got busted.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: Perfect. Perfect, Let's take a break.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. That so
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: scandal was hot and heavy.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: And I got that. I was like, this was so insane.
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: I actually posted it today because I think it's like
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: it's the fourteen year anniversary. I think almost of the
- 1:01:46Speaker 7: day of me auditioning for that part, but Shanda. What
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: was crazy about it was that Shanda.
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: Gave me the part I did.
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: If I had had to test it for it, like
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: I had everything else that came before it. There's no
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: way in hell I would have gotten it. Like I'd
- 1:01:59Speaker 7: already been in front of ABC eight thousand times.
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: Nobody was interested, like always a bridesmaid, never a bride.
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: I had gone in front of Shonda a bunch of
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: times for and I'd been on Gray's Anatomy and Private
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: Practice and guest Starret and things like that. But this
- 1:02:15Speaker 7: role I auditioned. Once she told me to say it faster,
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: I did. There was something on the show called scandal pace,
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: which was like speaking as fast as humanly possible. I'm
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: in New York or you're from New Jersey, we speak fast,
- 1:02:25Speaker 7: sort of inherently, like that's just from cult.
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: You know where we're from.
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: But and then about a week later, they were like, okay,
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: they're going to test you. And I was like, okay,
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: here I go again, get a test, Probably won't get it.
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: And they called me in for a test and I
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: sat there and it was Shonda and Betsy Beers and
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: Linda Lowie, the casting director, and casting associates and the
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: director and they said, we want to bring you in.
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: You're not going to have to read sides, and we
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: wanted to let you know We're just going to give
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: you the part what we brought nobody else in. We've
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: showed your tape from your audition last week to the
- 1:02:58Speaker 7: studio and network in Shonda told them that this is
- 1:03:01Speaker 7: the only person she wants I ever.
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: I was like, it was like American Idol, You're going
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: to Hollywood, you know what I mean? When I sob.
- 1:03:12Speaker 7: And the reason I know this is because they shot
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: it and it's on the behind the scenes, you know,
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: DVD stuff. And I posted it today because it's the
- 1:03:20Speaker 7: fourteen years of my life being changed. I mean I
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: was a babysitter and an assistant and a caterer and
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: a bartender and a waitress and all the things. And
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: I was twenty eight and I moved to LA at
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: twenty five and everyone was like you old, Like what
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: why did you do that?
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: Like you should have.
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: Come here way earlier, honey. And she just gave me
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: the part and I cried and I said, what happens now?
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: And she said, you're going to get a call about
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: a table read And I was.
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: Like, there's gonna be a table reader that. She was like,
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: you're gonna have a fitting and.
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: I was like, there's a fitting and then I asked
- 1:03:51Speaker 7: if I can hug everybody, and then I hugged everybody,
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: and then exactly, and then she was so kind to
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: me that we shot the pilot and I she said,
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: what are you going to do after we wrat this?
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: And I said, I have to go back to my
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: nannying job. I was nannying for this psycho family that
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: was very progressive billionaires who didn't believe in diapers, and
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: I had to hold their kid over a toilet bowl
- 1:04:14Speaker 7: and make encouraging keeping sounds and they would poop.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: I mean, it was unbelievable. But I told her this story.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: She loved it, and she felt so bad about waiting
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: to hear. She called me.
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: She said, hey, listen, I'm just going to give you
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: like a guest star in Gray's Anatomy to tide you over,
- 1:04:29Speaker 7: you know, for.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: She loves you.
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: Oh, She's changed my life. And also I had both.
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: My baby like I had my first baby the last
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: season of Scandal, I my next baby on Inventing Anna,
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: which she cast me.
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: You know, before we finished.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: I watched.
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: I was there too, but she called me in before
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: Scandal ended, and she liked the last season and she.
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: You know, we're really really really close friends. And she
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: just was like, do you want to have a family?
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: And I was like, we're thinking about it. And she
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: was like, I just want to let you know this
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: is like probably going to be where we start ending
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: scandal and if you want to do this on my watch,
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: like I will take care I know how to do it,
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: Like I will take care of you. I think you know.
- 1:05:08Speaker 7: She just was like I can take care of women
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: actresses who want to have a family and start a
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: family life.
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: And I went home and I told Adam, take off
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: your pass.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: That's so hard. I get that bread so hard right now,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Like we gotta.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: Go, man, it's go time. And she's been like an
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: amazing friend ever since. And I I mean, she changed
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: my life.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: Oh it's crazy.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: What a great story and what a testament to what
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: a good person she is. That she's like, I like you,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I'm going to look out for you.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: If you want to look out for somebody else. Look,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: I know I got a name already.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm in her A couple of times.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: She's always been very sweet. Have you had a showrunner
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: change your life? You too had a showrun or change
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: your life.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: Yes, but yes, but I want Sean.
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: But I want another one one too, Like I want
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: another one too. I mean it's hard to it's hard.
- 1:06:18Speaker 7: That is so crazy, Like I feel like the three
- 1:06:20Speaker 7: of us, we've been so lucky to you know, to
- 1:06:23Speaker 7: It's funny actually doing other shows with with other showrunners
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: because I'm always like, oh, you can't just like make
- 1:06:29Speaker 7: that call, and they're like, no.
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: Like they can't.
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: Just like like if Seanna makes a fucking phone call,
- 1:06:34Speaker 7: it's happening, you know, it's like done, like if I
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: need something, and same with Bill of course, but I've
- 1:06:38Speaker 7: had to, you know, I do other I'm so lucky
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: to get other jobs, and I'm always they're just like, oh,
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: we they're showrunners, like we have no information.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: I'm like, oh my god, this is really hard. Like
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: you're in the same boat I'm in.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Like I think we were both deaf, all three of us,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: who were in instances where we where we were spoiled
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: in how lucky we were by the level of talent
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: of the showrunner. And then you go on other jobs
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: and it isn't always that way. And for me, it
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: was my first really big job, so it was shocking.
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: Yeah, same.
- 1:07:06Speaker 7: Oh my god, same, it's and then what was my
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: next big job? Like I've been in the Shondaland world
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: for like fifteen years. Like so when I go outside,
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: I'm like, oh my god, is everything okay?
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Like Amna Deel ever watched the show?
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: Do you know?
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: I heard she watched it and loved it.
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: I never got to meet her while shooting, but Julia
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: Garner went to jail and visited her in jail while
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: she was there. She's been out since. And it sounds
- 1:07:33Speaker 7: absolutely fucking terrifying. I mean, that girl is a absolute sociopath.
- 1:07:37Speaker 7: Like I shouldn't even saying it, because she could know
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: where I live because.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: There she knows where the shoppy.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: It's fine, I mean, it's fine. Hopefully she doesn't care.
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: I mean she's just like you know, I mean, she
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: just there's no I don't know if you've ever come
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: across a person like that.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: I have not.
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: But in the amount of studying and watching, you know
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: that we had access to a lot of videos of
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: Anna Delvi and a Psorican is her real name.
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: While we were making the show.
- 1:08:07Speaker 7: The research department was amazing, but we had so much
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: and when you study her like she just has no
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: it's meeting someone who has no empathy, like no compared.
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: I don't know if you saw her on Dancing with
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: the Stars this season, but it's like her answers are bananas.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: What is your answer?
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: Oh, she's just like I don't care, Like she gives
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: zero fox about anybody or anything except for herself.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: Like she is as her for clout.
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: Yeah that's what she said, right, she said that, And
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: she was dancing in her ankle.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Dancing.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: She was dancing with her ankle.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: Thing, dancing with her ankle thing.
- 1:08:51Speaker 9: I'm guessing as I'm guessing the resident biggest Dancing with
- 1:08:55Speaker 9: the Stars fan on in our in our group.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:08:59Speaker 9: I just want to point that, yes, Anna Delvey was
- 1:09:01Speaker 9: a total joke on the show. At the end, she
- 1:09:04Speaker 9: was one of the first people voted off and they
- 1:09:06Speaker 9: asked her, so, what are you going to take away
- 1:09:07Speaker 9: from the show, and she went nothing, nothing, and then
- 1:09:11Speaker 9: and then left.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Was she good at dancing? I mean I guess not.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: I feel so bad. It must have been hard with
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: the ankle. Ankle what do you call that thing? It's
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: ankle bind her. It's like this big, it's like a page.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: She how is she able to get to the dancing
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: without gave.
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: Her She got permission and approval during those windows to
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: only go to rehearsal and go to the show like that.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: So hilarious.
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: Is that not insane? It's so crazy.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: If you're listening, I highly recommend watching Inventing Anna. What
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: what streamer?
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: Was it on Netflix?
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Watch it on Netflix. It was really good, was amazing.
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: She's the best. And we shot and we lived in
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: Morocco for five weeks. It was the last trip.
- 1:09:59Speaker 7: It was all of February of twenty twenty and we
- 1:10:03Speaker 7: came home and COVID hit COVID happened.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Wait, why do was the whole I know there was
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: a section where you went to Morocco. Why did you
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: shoot so long in Morocco?
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: There was one huge First of all, this show was
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: so big. This was unbelievable, Like I don't know, I
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: just spent a lot of money. I don't know if
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: it was the Shonda effect or the Netflix effect.
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: I have no idea, But we had a whole episode
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: so like ninety something pages that basically happened in Morocco,
- 1:10:26Speaker 7: in the actual place where my character is conned out
- 1:10:30Speaker 7: of like a sixty thousand.
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: Dollars a night. Riodd like, yeah, I remember that.
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: Anna Delby is good friends with my character and is like,
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: let's go to Morocco for the that's a terrible impression.
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: I can't do it. I was doing French. I don't
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: know what's happening. I'm not going to attempt that again.
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: But she does like, let's go to Morocco for the weekend.
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: I'll pay for everything. She goes and all of her
- 1:10:50Speaker 7: cards get declined. She skips out of town and Rachel
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: basically puts down her Vanity Fair corporate company.
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: Card in a personal card.
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: It was like a sixty bill, sixty thousand dollar bill exactly.
- 1:11:03Speaker 7: And you know, we stayed in the exact riod where
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: it went down. We were with all the security guards
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: that were gonna like take them away if she couldn't pay,
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: they weren't allowed to leave the country.
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: I mean, it was like amazing. And it's the hotels
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: called lam Mammuna.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: And was it a fun Was it a fun place
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: to shoot?
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: It was, Well, it's so fun because you don't have
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: to act, do you know what I mean?
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: Like you're like you're in Morocco.
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: Yeah, like you're there, You're.
- 1:11:32Speaker 7: Like scared, You're like blown away by everything. You're literally
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: in like cars while like donkeys and carts are on
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: the streets next to you, and you know, and you're
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: drinking the Morocco everything is so visceral and like full
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: that you're just like I showed up and I was like,
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: oh great, I mean this is shoot, this shoots itself.
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: You know, it's just like so it was so great.
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: And Laverne Cox. It was me and Laverne Cox and
- 1:11:55Speaker 7: Julia Garner in Morocco for like five.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: That sounds like a good show.
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: It was a blast.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: It was Morocco.
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: No, she didn't make it to Morocco. No, none of them,
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: None of them. We were It felt like we were
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: all like the little kid, you know. We were there
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: with the director and the writer of the episode.
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: It was kind of I kind of always love that,
- 1:12:16Speaker 7: you know, Shanda's always been and I don't know if
- 1:12:18Speaker 7: Bill's like this, but Shanda doesn't go to set.
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: She Bills the opposite.
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: Oh really, Oh wow, that that would actually make me
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: so nervous.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Oh my god, he comes for everything every Oh my god,
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: I just.
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: Got so nervous because it's really nervous.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: But sometimes it's good because sometimes it's not what you
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: expected to be when you get there, and Bill always
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: finds a way to make it so it's perfect.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: And also with comedy it's great because we we we
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: have a bass with the script, but then rehearsal we
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: all start riffling with him, and.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: That's such a good call.
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: Yeah, this she never comes to set because on Scandal
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: at least, and a little bit on Vincentaina, but Scandal
- 1:13:00Speaker 7: you had to be word perfect. You couldn't make up
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: an ove or an and or the nothing. She said,
- 1:13:05Speaker 7: if you what you say is up to me. How
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: you say it is up to you, which is what
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: she said. And if you ever did a table read.
- 1:13:13Speaker 7: Every week we did a live table read, and then
- 1:13:15Speaker 7: she would say, you have twenty four hours to ask
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: me for changes or discuss or like whatever.
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: So there was always room to collaborate, for sure.
- 1:13:24Speaker 7: But anyway, so she didn't come to rehearsal, and I
- 1:13:27Speaker 7: kind of get it, like I don't. It sounds like
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: because Bill's are always there, this doesn't happen. But when
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: Shonda comes to set, set stops right. Like everyone's freaked out.
- 1:13:39Speaker 7: Everybody's like, oh, my god, like we need to like and.
- 1:13:43Speaker 5: Then and then also people are like can I get
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: a photo?
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: You know? You know?
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: Can can you?
- 1:13:46Speaker 7: You know you you know you've changed my life, like
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: and that's so beautiful and lovely too.
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: But she just sort of lets us do our work
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: and she does her work.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Another thing.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: I was there the day Scott Boley found out he
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: was going to be a regular on Scandal too.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: I remember that we were shooting him. We were shooting
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: a movie, Yeah, Let's kill Ward's wife.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Yes, And we were filming either we were filming or
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: we were doing publicity for it. And the call came
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: in and he was like, yo, I just got added
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: to the show. And I was yeah, man, I remember
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: that day too, and he was very very excited. I
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: was like, well, shit, are you moving.
- 1:14:26Speaker 7: He was unbelievable, but he had a really hard lift
- 1:14:28Speaker 7: because bringing it background to Tony Goldwyn. This poor dude,
- 1:14:32Speaker 7: Scott Folly, who I love so much, is a very
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: good friend of mine. He is always in a love
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: triangle like that's.
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: Felicity.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: He scrubs shrubs, Oh my god.
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: So to try to come in and try to get
- 1:14:48Speaker 7: the girl who the audience is already in love and
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: wants her.
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: With somebody else.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Yeah, handsome enough to do that, though he.
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: Gets enough of the audience to be like, I think
- 1:15:00Speaker 7: I'm into Foley, but really I'm into Goldwyn. And this
- 1:15:03Speaker 7: poor dude has to do scenes where he's like playing
- 1:15:06Speaker 7: basketball against Goldwyn doing like you know, you take off
- 1:15:10Speaker 7: your shirt, I take off my shirt, like there's a
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: lot of that, and he had to do that for.
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Seven years, which is not an easy task. I feel
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: like that is he was.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: He was.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: He was my nemesis on Scrubs because Elliott Davis, right,
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: and his name was Sean and and JD would always
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: go nobody cares Sean.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: I did Felicity, which I did Felicity with Scott another
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: love triangle and that love triangle, Like, but he was
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: so fucking like that's the thing about Foley though. He's
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: so fucking good though, you know what I mean, Like
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: every time he's just so good, so.
- 1:15:49Speaker 7: Good, and he's so funny, Like that's what I love
- 1:15:51Speaker 7: about you guys and him on Scrubs, Like he's so
- 1:15:53Speaker 7: funny and he's you know, he's so good at being
- 1:15:57Speaker 7: a romantic lead and he's he's also a.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Matter what he posts on his Instagram. He'll write like,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: celebrating this many years with the love of my life.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: I'm so lucky and blessed, and then the comments will
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: be like nobody can shu.
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: That's so funny.
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: And he definitely has Scandal fans being like, you suck.
- 1:16:16Speaker 7: We prefer Tony Goldwin like one hundred percent. He had
- 1:16:19Speaker 7: to deal with that for years, which was yeah, because people.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Are fucking nuts. They get so invested.
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: Oh my god, it's hard TV. You're in people's living
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: room every week.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: It's so like they they like think that Scott Foley
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: the person is trying to steal Kerry Washington.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Well, Bellamy is another. Bellamy is another uh Scrubs alumni.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Also, yeah, she was one of my lovers.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: WHOA, no, no, no, she wasn't No, she wasn't a lover.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: She was a she was the head of surgery.
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: Surgery, Yeah, whoa.
- 1:16:50Speaker 7: I could see the nine episodes on Scandal. She was
- 1:16:54Speaker 7: supposed to be in the pilot for three lines. She's
- 1:16:57Speaker 7: one of those stories.

- 1:17:01Speaker 5: She killed it.
- 1:17:02Speaker 7: She was waiting for her and then same as fully
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: like second season series regular change your life, like just
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: just unbelievable story. I never even auditioned for Scrubs.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Well really might have another chance there could come on.
- 1:17:20Speaker 7: I would love to wear scrub I mean, is it
- 1:17:23Speaker 7: great wearing scrubs and sneakers?
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: Is it great? Oh my god? That sounds unvalieved.

- 1:17:45Speaker 1: And I said, God, I love Noah Wiley. He's so amazing.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: And he replied to me, he said, Zach, thank you
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: so much, he goes. You know, we're getting so much
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: feedback that this is the most accurate medical show since Scrubs.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: And I wanted to tell you that and I said, oh,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: I love it, he goes. I said, I was actually
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: out to dinner with Bill Lawrence, who also loves it,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: and we were guessing where it's going, and anyway, we
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: had a little love fest, Joelle. So I really want
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: you to try and get him on. Now that I've

- 1:19:02Speaker 7: the group you know in the why you know, we're
- 1:19:04Speaker 7: down to the last things, and so that feels like
- 1:19:08Speaker 7: an upgrade. But I I don't know that this has
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: been like a very odd sort of time where it's dead.
- 1:19:19Speaker 5: But that's okay. And I mean, you guys, don't you
