- 0:13We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he.
- 0:15Can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:18I played 82 games. You don't see LeBron.
- 0:21Doing that, a game where you got to go.
- 0:23Before I told you, Giant fans and Saquon Barker,
- 1:44know who I am. I'm as loud as it can be.
- 1:47I'm as loud as they can be. I'm as loud as everybody.

- 2:33Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Long Island is busy and the New York
- 2:38Knicks game number one of the season tonight, which is right
- 2:42now airing live. The Knicks are up right now.
- 2:45If I'm, if I'm right with the score 26 to 16, Madison Square
- 2:50Garden, the Cleveland Cavaliers, some people believe these are
- 2:53the two best teams in the Eastern Conference.
- 2:56It's going to be fun all season long.
- 2:58Who Will Win the East this year? Milwaukee is, I, I think,
- 3:03crawling as we believe that Giannis might be asking for a
- 3:07trade at the trade deadline. The Boston Celtics have
- 3:11injuries. Jason Tatum, it was going to be
- 3:13out for the rest of the season with an Achilles tear.
- 3:17You have Hal Burton, who went down in the Finals in game #7
- 3:22with an Achilles tear. So he's out probably the whole
- 3:25season. So the Eastern Conference is
- 3:27wide open. Maybe goodies.
- 3:30Orlando Magic could win the East this year as good as they have,
- 3:34you know, been over the last few seasons.
- 3:37Growing, young, talented. They added some pieces.
- 3:40They added Bane in the offseason, maybe.
- 3:42Orlando Hey, Errol, You think Goody can name two people on the
- 3:46Magic right now? Absolutely 0.
- 3:48Absolutely zilch zero and if goodies listening by the way,
- 3:53happy birthday to his sister. They were celebrating so happy
- 3:57birdie birthday birthday, not birdie birthday.
- 4:00I'm going to call him happy birdie to his beautiful sister.
- 4:04Happy Birthday and congratulations to all of
- 4:09Goodies accomplishments and he knows what I'm talking about.
- 4:11The World Series will begin on Friday after the Blue Jays
- 4:15punched their ticket by defeating the Mariners four to
- 4:19three in game #7 George Springer's 7th inning 3 run home
- 4:23run shot was the difference maker after the Mariners took an
- 4:28early lead off a Homer from both Julio Rodriguez and Cal Rally.
- 4:35Vladimir Guerrero Junior was named the ALCSMVP with a 385
- 4:40batting average, three home runs and a 1.330 OPS.
- 4:46The Dodgers, who have been waiting a while since sweeping
- 4:50the number one seeded Brewers last week, will get a chance to
- 4:55try to go back-to-back for the first time since the New York
- 4:59Yankees did it and won three in a row from 9899 and 2000.
- 5:04The Dodgers starting rotation had a 0.63 ERA in their dominant
- 5:10NLCS, capped off by Shayo Otani's six shutout innings with
- 5:1510 strikeouts while hitting three home runs in clinching
- 5:19game #4 at home in LA. The Dodgers are betting
- 5:23favorites to repeat and win the World Series at a -, 210.
- 5:30It wasn't so long ago that baseball insiders and Toronto
- 5:34fans were all fooled into thinking that Shay Ohtani was
- 5:38going to the Blue Jays before he he signed with the Dodgers.
- 5:42Fast forward to today, it's Ohtani standing in Toronto's way
- 5:49as they try to win their first World Series since 1993.
- 5:54And Joe Carter. If you remember that, I remember
- 5:56that very, very well. I, I'm, I'm a huge baseball fan
- 6:00and growing up, I'll never forget Joe Carter.
- 6:02Never end Roberto Almar I I one of the greatest, one of the
- 6:07greatest second baseman's of all time, one of the greatest
- 6:09defensive players I've ever seen.
- 6:12But that's all. And by the way, another guy that
- 6:16a lot of fans like John Olerot was a part of that team as well.
- 6:20One of the greatest defensive first baseman.
- 6:22I want to give a shout out to Josh Silverberg because he loves
- 6:25Johnny O and when he went to the Mets.
- 6:28The fact here is you sit here today and you look at the Blue
- 6:31Jays and you you ask yourself, how does this team compete with
- 6:36the deferred Dodgers? You look at the rotation, you
- 6:42have Yamamoto Sasaki, you have you have Snell, you have all
- 6:48these guys, you have Glass now you have Ohtani.
- 6:51This rotation is as good and as deep as any rotation we've ever
- 6:56seen. And you look at this line up, we
- 7:00all know what Friedman is. We all know what bets are.
- 7:03These are two former MV PS2 guys.
- 7:08Remember, Freeman won a World Series with the Braves before he
- 7:11came to the Dodgers and won with the Dodgers.
- 7:14Mookie Betts. Mookie Betts won a World Series
- 7:17with the Boston Red Sox, and then he went to the Dodgers.
- 7:21And now you have Shay Ohtani, who's never won a World Series.
- 7:26Never. But when you see these three
- 7:28guys in a lineup, how could you beat this team?
- 7:32How could you defeat a team with a middle of a line up this good?
- 7:37And that's not even half of the guys that they have when it
- 7:39comes to their one to nine in their lineup.
- 7:44The fact here is baseball's weird.
- 7:48It always is. And Jabba will tell you, not
- 7:51always the best team wins. It doesn't always happen that
- 7:54way. Go ask the Yankees.
- 7:57Remember Arizona? Remember the Diamondbacks?
- 8:00I remember that in 2003 the Yankees were the best team.
- 8:05They were the best team all season long.
- 8:09The Diamondbacks had Curt Schilling and they had Randy
- 8:13Johnson. 2 dominant pitchers, 2 of the best pitchers in all of
- 8:17baseball. When you look at their lineup,
- 8:20did their lineup really stick out to you like a sore thumb?
- 8:24No. But everybody remembers Gonzalez
- 8:27when he had that game-winning hit against Mariano Rivera that
- 8:30won him the World Series. I remember it.
- 8:33I was saddened. Derek Jeter talks about it all
- 8:36the time when he thinks about losses, that if you watched his
- 8:41documentary, that was the loss he'll always remember.
- 8:45I'm telling you, go watch the documentary if you want to watch
- 8:48the Captain documentary. That was the loss that he'll
- 8:51always remember. When you look at the Blue Jays.
- 8:56Nobody, including me, would have thought that they would have
- 9:01beaten the Yankees. Nobody, including me, would have
- 9:04thought that they would have went through the Mariners going
- 9:07down to O and win that series. But they did.
- 9:13And why did they win that series?
- 9:15And a lot of people were attacking and including yours
- 9:17truly when they decided to give Vladimir Guerrero Junior $325
- 9:26million guaranteed. Before the season started.
- 9:30I questioned the Blue Jays on why would they do that?
- 9:35You give a guy that kind of money right up front and give
- 9:39them that kind of contract when you could have wait until the
- 9:42offseason and see how this all fell together.
- 9:44But now, when you look at that, look at it, this was a win for
- 9:48them because if they waited until the end of the season,
- 9:52Vladimir Guerrero would have got more money.
- 9:55That's the facts. Think about it.
- 9:58What Vladimir Guerrero has done in this playoff is remarkable.
- 10:03It is remarkable. He is not his father, not yet.
- 10:08But when you think of Vladimir Guerrero senior, you're talking
- 10:12about one of the greatest baseball players of all time,
- 10:16one of the best 5 tall players you have ever seen.
- 10:21And you look at his son and you father and son combination.
- 10:24We talked about this on Monday. That usually never works in
- 10:28baseball. It usually never works in
- 10:30basketball, hockey, football, you name it, it doesn't work.
- 10:35But this man is trying to prove himself, trying to build his own
- 10:40legacy away from what his father has done as a professional
- 10:43athlete. And it's remarkable because if
- 10:47you look at this lineup, they didn't have Pushet Bichette was
- 10:51one of their best hitters all season, fighting injury after
- 10:54injury. Bichette, who is going to be
- 10:56looking for a new contract at the in the offseason, just like
- 10:59Guerrero, he is probably going to play in this World Series.
- 11:03How does this change their lineup?
- 11:05It changes their lineup extremely differently.
- 11:10If Bichette is even 90% healthy and you put him in the middle of
- 11:16this line up in front of Guerrero or even in behind
- 11:19Guerrero, you're adding another potent bat in a lineup that has
- 11:25been potent all playoff log. And it's crazy because if you go
- 11:31back and we can argue this, Jabba you, you're one of those
- 11:34guys that went back and forth. We all wanted to see the
- 11:37Mariners play the Dodgers in the World Series cuz that would have
- 11:41been the more fun series to watch.
- 11:44I'm looking at this series now. Maybe not.
- 11:48Because when you go back and you look at those 93 Blue Jays and
- 11:53you look at that roster and you compare it to this roster, they
- 11:58are extremely, extremely different.
- 12:03And what makes it so much more interesting is when you look at
- 12:06their best player. And their best player was not
- 12:10Joe Carter. Their best player was Roberto Al
- 12:14Mar, OK, who was a second baseman.
- 12:17And you look at Vladimir Guerrero, who is a first
- 12:21baseman, and you compare their skills.
- 12:24They're so very different, so very different.
- 12:29And you look at and remember, Roberto Al Mar was a young
- 12:31player in 93. He was a kid.
- 12:34He was a kid. Vladimir Guerrero is a kid.
- 12:38I don't know what what was Roberto Almar's age in 93,
- 12:42Speedy, Look that up for me because if I'm not mistaken, he
- 12:47was around 2526 years old. That's where I think he was.
- 12:51And right now, Vladimir Guerrero is 2526 years old.
- 12:56Speedy, you have his age. 25. 25 Why does everybody find it
- 13:01before you dudes? Just speed.
- 13:02I have the slowest computer. Yeah, you have the slowest mind
- 13:05I And then you go to Vladimir Guerrero.
- 13:07How old is Vladimir Guerrero right now?
- 13:10He's 2526 years old right now. They're identical with age.
- 13:15And when you look at what these guys have done as players in
- 13:21different decades, it is remarkable.
- 13:25When you compare now, Roberto Almar comes from a family of
- 13:28baseball players. Think about it.
- 13:31Yeah, his whole family. Sandy Almar, they come.
- 13:35He comes from a baseball family. Vladimir Guerrero comes from a
- 13:39baseball family. When you look at the comparison
- 13:42of these players and you look at the greatness of both these
- 13:45players, right now, the trajectory is Vladimir Guerrero
- 13:49is going junior, is going to be a Hall of Fame player, but first
- 13:53he needs to win a World Series. He needs to bring home a World
- 13:58Series. To be in that trajectory.
- 14:02I look at Roberto Almore. If Almore doesn't win that World
- 14:06Series, he's still a Hall of Famer, but is he going to be
- 14:09remembered as a winner, a champion?
- 14:11The answer would be no. And that is where I see the Blue
- 14:16Jays in this Series. The Dodgers are champions.
- 14:20The Dodgers have won how many World Series in the last 10
- 14:23years? They've won free, haven't they?
- 14:26Or they've been. They've won two and they've been
- 14:28to three. They've been to three World
- 14:30Series in five years. You look at you look at you know
- 14:34what they are, you know what you're playing against.
- 14:36You know what Cheryl Tani is. You know what Freeman is.
- 14:39You know what bets are is when it comes to winning
- 14:41championships. You don't know what Vladimir
- 14:44Guerrero is. You don't know what this
- 14:48pitching staff is. And because none of these guys,
- 14:51any of these guys have won a World Series.
- 14:55Think about it. You look at this Blue Jays
- 14:57lineup. Has any one of these guys ever
- 15:00been to a World Series? Match.
- 15:03Yeah, I don't think, I don't think any hitters though.
- 15:06Springer is the only one. Yeah, Springer is the only one.
- 15:10And he's going to go down as one of the greatest postseason
- 15:12clutch guys that ever played if he keeps going the ways he's
- 15:16tied for third and homers all time.
- 15:17So they got some. Trash cans.
- 15:19So they got one guy. Still hit it.
- 15:22They got one guy, ladies and gentlemen, that has been to a
- 15:26World Series and had it and won. And and that to me shows you how
- 15:34unique this Blue Jay team is. How I think I to me, the the
- 15:39team that has the most stress on them is the Dodgers.
- 15:41The Dodgers are expected to win with the lineup they have, the
- 15:44pitching staff that they have and what they did against the
- 15:48National League champion Brewers and they were they they they won
- 15:53the National League with wins. They were the best team in all
- 15:56of baseball all season long. The Brewers, they ran right
- 15:59through that team. They didn't even have a 1 ERA
- 16:03against the the Brewers had fourteen hits in that whole
- 16:06series in four games. Think about that.
- 16:10And now you're going against a Blue Jay team that was red hot,
- 16:16against a Mariner pitching staff that is really good.
- 16:20That's a good pitching staff. Go ask Detroit how good that
- 16:26pitching staff is. I I just my fact, my thought and
- 16:30my facts here is pretty simple. The Blue Jays have nothing to
- 16:35hide in this series. Everybody knows they have
- 16:39nothing to lose. And when you have nothing to
- 16:42lose, you're a very dangerous team.
- 16:45You're going into a series that everybody expects you to lose.
- 16:48As a matter of fact, betting odds to tell you there are -210
- 16:53which is a lot. That's high.
- 16:55OK, that's a significant number. Anything over 100 is
- 17:00significant. That tells you that nobody, when
- 17:05it comes to Vegas and a betting person would take a handicapper,
- 17:10would take the Blue Jays to win this series.
- 17:13And if if I was a coach and I was a manager and I had a board
- 17:17up and I'm going to point out things that would get my team
- 17:20wounded up and I would have a list of things that would be #1
- 17:25that would be #1 we just went through the Yankees.
- 17:30We beat a team that a lot of people thought was the best team
- 17:35in baseball, especially the last month and a half of baseball.
- 17:40They were the best American League team.
- 17:43They went through one of the best players in the world, if
- 17:46not the best player in the world.
- 17:47And Aaron Judge, yes, he hit against them.
- 17:49They still beat them. Max Freed, who's going to be up
- 17:54for a Sai Young this year, one of the best pitchers in
- 17:56baseball. They beat them up.
- 18:01All it takes is confidence in baseball.
- 18:03Jabba will tell you if you believe it, you can achieve it.
- 18:08And I'm going to tell you guys this and my facts here,
- 18:12Everybody sitting here today, including yours truly, I thought
- 18:14the Blue Jays were not the right fit to go to the World Series.
- 18:18I'm wrong and I'm going to tell you why I'm wrong because this
- 18:23lineup has been as potent as any lineup in the playoffs.
- 18:29If you look at their numbers right now and compare them to
- 18:33all the teams so far in the playoffs, they have the best
- 18:38lineup when it comes to average and they have the best line up
- 18:42when it comes to power right now.
- 18:44And I'm not talking about Shay Ohtani's one game with three
- 18:47home runs. He's batting 220 in the
- 18:49playoffs. Think about it.
- 18:52There are three guys in this line up hitting almost 300 with
- 18:55the Blue Jays 33. That tells something.
- 19:02That tells you something. I, I just, it's crazy and it's
- 19:07so compare. It's not comparable to the 93,
- 19:10but there are players when you look at it and you're trying to
- 19:13look at a comparison to try to bring it to the forefront.
- 19:16This is the best chance a Canadian baseball team has to
- 19:20win a championship since the 90s.
- 19:23That to me is as successful as we can talk about since the
- 19:28Montreal Expos and Pedro Martinez and who, Vladimir
- 19:33Guerrero. The Montreal Expos I never even
- 19:35made a World Series too, so that's why the.
- 19:37Blue, I know. That's why the Blue Jays
- 19:38definitely had to make a mark and.
- 19:39Obviously they got, but look at that team.
- 19:40Oh, I know. Look at Omar Minaya.
- 19:43He was the guy. He was the one that ran that
- 19:45organization, who, by the way, built the Mets.
- 19:48And when they took over and, and they made that run with the
- 19:52pitching staff. I mean, we could go on and on
- 19:54and on from what the Montreal Expos were and what players came
- 19:58from it. Do we remember Bartolo Cologne?
- 20:01Oh. Yeah, Randy Johnson was on the
- 20:03Expos. I mean, there were so many great
- 20:06players that came from that organization before they parted
- 20:09ways and go to and went where was speedy.
- 20:11They traded a bunch of. Where did they go?
- 20:13They went to Tampa. They went to Washington.
- 20:15That's right. I, I, I keep thinking Tampa, but
- 20:17Tampa was in. Tampa, Tampa, they were
- 20:19expensive. What you're thinking of too, is
- 20:21also Tampa was in the rumors to go back to Montreal.
- 20:23We talked about five years ago. Still might be and still, yeah,
- 20:26definitely could be with they don't get their stadium
- 20:28situation sorted out. But yeah, the Expos obviously
- 20:31never go into the World Series. They got screwed in 94.
- 20:33Obviously the lockout season. They were the best team in
- 20:35baseball that year. So maybe they would have been.
- 20:37That would have been after the Blue Jays won back-to-back in 92
- 20:39and 93. It's a definitely an interesting
- 20:41vibe. It's an interesting fusion of
- 20:42veteran players. You were talking about it with
- 20:44the the pitching staff being as it is, not really having that
- 20:47dominant force, but having a lot of good veteran guys that
- 20:50stepped up this year. Gossman was an under performer
- 20:52the last two years after he had a really good first two years in
- 20:55Toronto, but he's pitched really well in the playoffs.
- 20:56Shane Bieber stepped up, kind of battled it out, but stepped up
- 21:00in Game 7 and pitched well earlier in the series.
- 21:02And sure, as they're coming back now, Mets legend Chris Bassett
- 21:05happening to be happening to pitch well in game game seven of
- 21:07that series out of the bullpen. And they have the pitching
- 21:10versatility. And probably the closest
- 21:11comparison you can make, not to the level of underdogs that they
- 21:14were, but the way their team is built is probably the Nationals,
- 21:17but the National. The Blue Jays have a better
- 21:18offense. This is a more powerful offense
- 21:20on this team. And Java, you mentioned Springer
- 21:23bringing the veteran leadership from the lead out spot.
- 21:25Vlad Junior, the postseason turn around, he had his first two
- 21:27years in the playoffs was horrible and he was really bad
- 21:29at the beginning of the Seattle series.
- 21:31He's turning around. And they have a lot of other
- 21:32veteran hitters and younger hitters at the at the end of
- 21:35that lineup that have really stepped up well.
- 21:37And you're right, Errol, they have nothing to lose.
- 21:39So the pressure is going to be on the Dodgers.
- 21:41They have the veteran leaderships the Blue Jays do to
- 21:43get those guys in that kind of mentality.
- 21:45And I was with you, I was thinking they were fraudulent
- 21:47all year. I thought they were like, OK,
- 21:49this they're not a great run differential.
- 21:50They don't really have an obvious for Guerrero.
- 21:52They don't really. We have an obvious star
- 21:54anywhere. Just think about the comparison
- 21:56that I gave you guys, a young Roberto Almar and Vladimir
- 21:59Guerrero junior. They're almost identical ages
- 22:02when they both go into their first World Series.
- 22:05Why not see Vladimir Guerrero shock the world?
- 22:08That Blue Jays team was not supposed to win the World
- 22:10Series. They were absolutely not
- 22:13favorites to winning that World Series.
- 22:15I remember it. I remember that home run off
- 22:17that bat when Joe Carter hit it. He was running around and he was
- 22:20shocked that it went it went out.
- 22:22You know, it was unbelievable. I remember it now.
- 22:25You can watch the video. If we have the video.
- 22:28You could see his face when he was running around from first
- 22:31all the way to 2nd and 3rd. It's.
- 22:34Do you remember who you remember who threw the pitch?
- 22:36Who threw the pitch? Mitch Williams.
- 22:38Mitch Williams. There it is.
- 22:40He falls off. He falls off the mound.
- 22:42Watch how he finishes. I remember this.
- 22:45Oh my God, I remember it. Oh gosh.
- 22:48I The face, the faces that he makes when he's running around
- 22:52and it went out. He was shocked.
- 22:53It went out. Look at him.
- 22:55He's. He almost forgot to touch first.
- 22:56He almost jumped over it. I remember it.
- 23:02I I just remember how shocked he was when he hit it.
- 23:06He couldn't believe it went out. Jabba with the umpires have
- 23:08nitpicked that back then. I mean, would they would they
- 23:14have gone to replay like, I mean, oh.
- 23:17My God, I remember. Remember that Mets play where
- 23:20Robin Ventura hit a home run but only touched first base so he
- 23:23only got credit? He only got credit for a single.
- 23:26I remember that too. I remember that too.
- 23:29Grand Slam. Single.
- 23:30It went back. Everybody's like what happened?
- 23:31It was like he only touched first.
- 23:33They mobbed him before he could get there.
- 23:38I think it's been done since then too.
- 23:39That's the. Funny, I mean, it's I I can't
- 23:41compare this Blue Jays team to that team, but what this team is
- 23:46doing in the comparable players when you look at guys that were
- 23:50all world players at their positions you're talking about
- 23:54Vladimir Guerrero is a top five player right now in the league.
- 23:57Roberto Almar wasn't a top five player at that time, but he was
- 24:01one of the best young players in baseball where everybody was
- 24:05saying that this team was going to win multiple championships
- 24:09with with this young superstar that they have at second base.
- 24:13That guy Roberto Almar, I don't care what anybody says, he is
- 24:16one of the greatest top three second baseman of all time.
- 24:21You look at his numbers, how many guys could you compared to
- 24:23Roberto Almar, he's a. Switch hitting second basement.
- 24:27Team yeah, I know and he wasn't liked a lot of players didn't
- 24:30like him a lot of players I've spoken speed we've had a couple
- 24:33of players on this show in the past at before Jabba in the
- 24:36mouth and we were interviewing them and we asked them who are
- 24:40one of the some of the hate most hated players you ever played
- 24:42against. And and numerous amount of guys
- 24:45told us Roberto Almar was one of the the worst teammates and one
- 24:48of the worst players to play against.
- 24:50And I said why? Because he was cheap and he he
- 24:52talked a lot, a lot. And, and he did things.
- 24:55He wasn't a team player. Well, guess what?
- 24:57He was a winner. He was great.
- 25:00So, and I, I haven't heard that about Vladimir Guerrero junior,
- 25:04but Vladimir Guerrero junior is what what he's doing right now
- 25:08is, is incredible. And I got news for you guys as
- 25:12good as Vladimir Guerrero senior who did win a World Series with
- 25:16the Angels. And I do remember that he was
- 25:19never this good in a playoff run.
- 25:21Ever. He's never hit close to 400 in a
- 25:25playoff run. Never.
- 25:26Do you guys remember Vladimir Guerrero senior ever hitting
- 25:31close to 400 in the playoffs? I don't.
- 25:33Remember, I don't there's not a lot of people that.
- 25:35Have had a I'm just saying. I'm just saying when we're
- 25:37looking, when we're trying to compare him and his father.
- 25:41His father never did this job. You know this.
- 25:43You played against his dad. Yeah, it was.
- 25:46They're they're very similar in in swing path and and what they
- 25:52do, but approaches is way different.
- 25:54And but you know, Vlad, when you grow up the way he does and
- 25:58like, I don't know if you guys saw the story that he did.
- 26:01You know, he's like it just everything about him, it makes
- 26:05you want to root for him, right? And I don't know him.
- 26:09I've never met him. But, yeah, just from afar as a
- 26:11baseball fan and and being able to be a fan of his dad's and
- 26:16then get a chance to play against him and just see how
- 26:19much he was loved by everybody as a whole.
- 26:21And just the kind of hitter he was.
- 26:24And, and, and just the way he went about his business it the
- 26:28apple didn't fall too far. And you see that he just he said
- 26:32he goes that the one thing that I want to do is give my dad a
- 26:35World Series ring. And, you know, there's there's
- 26:38something you saw the emotion after they won, you know, tears
- 26:40in his eyes because it's it's something that, you know,
- 26:44everybody always sees, you know, us competing and rooting against
- 26:48us or for us. But people forget sometimes
- 26:51we're human beings. Like this is something that he's
- 26:53watched his entire life. And now he gets an opportunity.
- 26:56You know, and I, I mentioned something today on Twitter or X,
- 26:59whatever you want to call it about, you know, just the the
- 27:03opportunity that Donnie Baseball gets as long as he's been in
- 27:06baseball and he gets an his first time and he's been in 40
- 27:11years in this game, as a player, as a coach, as a coordinator is
- 27:15whatever he was. And to get a chance to do it.
- 27:17It it's just it's special because this game is so special
- 27:22to us that a lot of people don't get that opportunity.
- 27:24When you do, it hits you and you know, it's awesome to be able to
- 27:27to have that experience. But for the two teams, it's
- 27:31really, I think you kind of said it, it's like we kind of wanted
- 27:35to see the Mariners because they've never been there, right?
- 27:37And the Blue Jays, you know, they're being in the division.
- 27:41You kind of just have that and I don't like you kind of attitude
- 27:44just because they are in the division and you're like, what
- 27:46are they really? Are they that much better?
- 27:49Like what? What do they do that's better
- 27:51than us? And I think what what I've seen
- 27:54throughout this whole playoffs is they've obviously had Vlad,
- 27:58but they've had other guys do things that sometimes don't go
- 28:01in the score. But you, you got a guy like
- 28:03Clement that nobody knows who the hell he is.
- 28:05Averaging over like 4.3 pitches in a bat like that doesn't look
- 28:09like sexy at all. But that's giving other guys
- 28:13opportunity to see more pitches that's getting to their bullpen
- 28:16faster because you get to the bullpen faster anyways in the
- 28:19playoffs unless you know certain people.
- 28:21But you got guys like that stepping up, doing the little
- 28:24things that extend a game and and don't go in the scorebook
- 28:29that, you know, doesn't doesn't have the three run Homer that
- 28:32Springer does. But you got to have guys on base
- 28:35and in the at bats that go before that.
- 28:37And you know, I think it's it's tough to root for them being an
- 28:42indivision as as a Yankee fan. First of all, I want to see a
- 28:44great series. Carter picked Dodgers in five.
- 28:49And if you go on paper, yeah, you're probably going with the
- 28:53Dodgers, right? I mean, because that's that's
- 28:55what it is. And you're going to see
- 28:58superstar, superstar on one side compared to, you know, you're
- 29:02getting Bichette back. But Bichette's not a superstar.
- 29:05He's a great player, but he's not a superstar.
- 29:08He's not Vlad. And then you've got Max Ben
- 29:11there with 16. It feels like he always somehow
- 29:14finds a place in and just to be able to be that leader and be in
- 29:19that situation. You got guys, you know, like you
- 29:22brought up speedy your your your mess legend and and Chris and.
- 29:27There's autism on this team. There's Andres Andres Jimenez,
- 29:29too. Yeah, who's he's played well,
- 29:33you got guys that are literally I'll do whatever it takes.
- 29:36Like if you saw the quote by by him, he goes I'll be the towel
- 29:39boy if it if it takes us a chance to win.
- 29:42And I think that's kind of where it differs in the namesake of
- 29:47each team is where, yeah, we don't have a lot of names, but
- 29:50we're in the same position you are.
- 29:52You're not any better than us because you've got all these
- 29:55superstar names. We're here and we're going to
- 29:57battle. So I think it's going to be a
- 29:59better series. And I think it's it's a little
- 30:02bit better matchup than we initially thought.
- 30:05Just just seeing it before it happened and now breaking it
- 30:09down and seeing the comparisons and the differences between both
- 30:14teams and where, you know, summer, I don't know how Varlins
- 30:17arm is still hanging. That dude.
- 30:19I think he pitched like twice in some games.
- 30:20It felt like cuz every time like you turn, he's back in the game.
- 30:23I mean, obviously he gave up the Homer to judge and comes back
- 30:25and starts the next game and he's you know, he's just a guy
- 30:28that wants to be out there. Hoffman, like we talked about on
- 30:30the show, throws 2 innings, which was weird to me.
- 30:32I don't know why at that point he did, but then comes back and,
- 30:35and obviously this point of the season, you're, you're taking
- 30:38everything and, and making sure you feel good at this point.
- 30:41But it's just I, I'm excited for it.
- 30:43It's, it's probably not what everybody wanted to see.
- 30:47You know, now you've got the travel that people are going to
- 30:49talk. There's so many factors that
- 30:50that people don't think about in, in what comes into play.
- 30:55And so it's I'm excited. I'm excited to see, you know,
- 30:58who steps up. I think, I think pitching is
- 31:01going to be, I guess I'm biased when I say this, but be the the
- 31:06end all that kind of meets all because there's going to have to
- 31:08be guys that step up because we're going to see runs score
- 31:11there. These lineups are too good not
- 31:14to have runs scored. I I, I have a feeling there's
- 31:17not going to be very many 2 to 1, three to two games in this
- 31:20series. But you know what, people love
- 31:22that And let's see some scoring and some homers and and two
- 31:25really, really great parks to play in.
- 31:27The Rodgers centered gets absolutely crazy those Canadian
- 31:30fans because that beers a little stronger there and they start
- 31:34early when you when you get into that place.
- 31:35So and then obviously LA, you'll have the stars out like they're
- 31:39at a Knicks game. So I'm excited for it.
- 31:43It can't get here soon. I, I will say this and, and I
- 31:46know you're a Donnie Baseball fan.
- 31:47I'm a Donnie Baseball fan. He's my favorite player growing
- 31:50up. And when everybody looks at my
- 31:52favorite athletes growing up that I rooted for Van Beesbrook
- 31:56from the Rangers and then when he went to the Florida Panthers,
- 31:59he was my favorite when it came to hockey, football was Donovan
- 32:03McNabb and for baseball it was Donnie Baseball.
- 32:06And he was my favorite player growing up.
- 32:08He was the first guy that I worshipped when I met him two or
- 32:12three times in the past. One of the nicest people you'll
- 32:15ever meet and very well deserved.
- 32:17A guy that never got a chance to play in a World Series, not with
- 32:20the Yankees, not with the Dodgers as a manager and
- 32:23assistant manager with Joe Torre.
- 32:24He never got a chance to try to win a World Series.
- 32:27And now when it goes back in time, when you think about it,
- 32:31in the times that when the Blue Jays were good, when the Blue
- 32:35Jays went to the the World Series, he was a Yankee at the
- 32:37tail end of his career and they win a World Series in 93 and he
- 32:42never got a chance to play in one.
- 32:44So the tables will turn. And if Donnie Baseball wins the
- 32:48World Series, and that's why I'm rooting for the Blue Jays.
- 32:51It would be so fitting and so filling because I love the guy
- 32:55so much. I only want to see the guy win.
- 32:58He deserves it. He is a great person, good
- 33:01hearted player and one of the greatest baseball players not in
- 33:05the Hall of that should be in the Hall of Fame because in a
- 33:085-6 year stint how many guys could you name that did what
- 33:13Donnie Baseball did in that time?
- 33:16I Nobody and any. He's always, he's one of those
- 33:19guys too. It's like we, I think we've
- 33:21touched on a little bit. It's like, what if, like what if
- 33:23his back didn't go? What if we didn't lose some of
- 33:25these guys like Thurman before, you know, his, his accident,
- 33:29Like there's so many of those guys that we lost too early from
- 33:34injury or, or death or whatever that we're unbelievable players.
- 33:38And you just, I mean, it's, it stinks because he should.
- 33:41And I, I, I don't know how you, you don't put him in, but it's,
- 33:47it's just tough when you have somebody of that caliber for,
- 33:49for that amount of time. We're not talking about, you
- 33:51know, 2-3 years. Like there, there was an
- 33:53extended period where he was unbelievable.
- 33:55Nope. Not only offensively, but
- 33:57defensively. Fish before you go, I just want
- 33:58to mention about one thing, OK, You were talking about Errol was
- 34:00talking about the show me the Blue Jays like almost rumor that
- 34:03happened. It was funny Jabba.
- 34:05This was like a week after the first time ever we ever had you
- 34:07on the show as a guest and I, Errol comes to pick me up and
- 34:10Jeff, Jeff talking to him and Jeff like, oh, Todd, he's going
- 34:13to the Blue Jays. He was one of the ones that fell
- 34:15for. And you know what?
- 34:15I laugh again, for you know what I said.
- 34:17Is that when they have the tail number or supposedly right?
- 34:20I I called him out. To this day, I call him out on
- 34:23that tape. I call him out all the time.
- 34:26And oh, you're always right, huh?
- 34:28Oh, Tony going to the Blue Jays, It's almost in the books.
- 34:31Oh, I know he was over there. I know he's siding.
- 34:34Yeah, he's signing my ass. That's he's signing nothing.
- 34:37He's going to the Dodgers, and that's what they want everybody
- 34:40to believe. So, Jeff, I don't hear you
- 34:43calling the show anymore, because if you did, I'd stick it
- 34:46to you on that one. And by the way, he sends me
- 34:49these stupid memes. Whatever of Otani with the three
- 34:53home runs, 10 strikeouts in the 6th and he pitched.
- 34:56But guess what Jeff? When I said 220, I meant he was
- 35:00batting 220 in the series and throughout the playoffs to Aaron
- 35:04Judge 500. So you can tell me whatever you
- 35:07want. I still believe Aaron Judge is a
- 35:10better player than Jay Otani. Sorry, I had to add that.
- 35:15Let me obviously rooting for Donnie Baseball.
- 35:17If Harold Baines is in the Hall of Fame, Donnie Baseball should
- 35:20be in the Hall of Fame. That that's completely
- 35:22ridiculous. They got to do what the NFL did.
- 35:24Guys with that, with the short but elite peaks are more
- 35:27valuable in my memory than a guy like Harold Baines who was very
- 35:31good for a little while and good for a while and then kind of
- 35:34hung around the league. You know what I mean?
- 35:36It was a compiler to me. They got it like do the Terrell
- 35:39Davis thing in that they didn't football for Donnie, baseball
- 35:43for Keith Hernandez. Maybe, you know, like those
- 35:45types of guys, but they're not and it doesn't really matter.
- 35:48And all those things you said, Vladimir Guerrero junior boba
- 35:51shed coming back. I'm still taking Dodgers in
- 35:54five. It doesn't matter.
- 35:55This team is too stacked. I think they're going to win.
- 35:57They're going to split the first two games in Toronto and then
- 36:00you get 3 in Lai think they're going to just destroy him.
- 36:04That team is so good. If Otani is Otani hadn't hit the
- 36:08whole postseason till that game. Now what?
- 36:10It is hot. Blue Jays in seven, I think
- 36:14there's. Blue Jays, good luck, pray for
- 36:16you on that, but. I think the Blue Jays are going
- 36:19to surprise and shock the world, OK?
- 36:22I just have this feeling that this run has There's a reason
- 36:25behind it, and Donnie Baseball is going to get his first ring.
- 36:29That's what I'm rooting for DB. That's what I'm rooting for,
- 36:33Donnie Baseball. I don't give a crap about the
- 36:36Dodgers. I want to see the Dodgers go
- 36:37down in flames. Blake Snell can eat an ass.
- 36:41I want to see DB win his first World Series.
- 36:46He deserves it, and the gods will tell you that when that
- 36:50happens, well, the Knicks are winner championship.
- 36:57They look good right now tonight.
- 36:58Don't, Jake. So why would you do that?
- 37:02You just, you know, the first we got NBA basketball is worthless
- 37:05to watch. Why would no one's hit any
- 37:06shots? The hell is singing, right?
- 37:08Now, no. You know who's hitting shots
- 37:09right now for the Knicks? Landry Shamit.
- 37:11I guarantee you he's not going to be playing too many
- 37:13meaningful minutes. Well, I, I don't know if you
- 37:16know Mike Brown. Mike Brown likes to mix it up
- 37:18and Mike Brown will be playing a rotation of 13 to 14 guys.
- 37:22If they're on the bench, he will.
- 37:23Play I don't know about 1314, but we're going to see those
- 37:26guys you as opposed to tips he will.
- 37:28Play those guys. If they're playing and they're
- 37:30playing well, he's going to play them.
- 37:32You're going to see. I think it's going to be like
- 37:331011, but he'll rotate those guys in, you know what I mean,
- 37:37to try to develop guys, which tips just never did.
- 37:40He's like, give me your veterans and only give me your veterans.
- 37:43Or maybe there's one rookie I like, like a McBride, and then
- 37:47I'll ride those guys the entire way that that was the problem
- 37:50with them. But you know.
- 37:51What a. Lot of.
- 37:52Problems. I'm sure we'll have plenty of
- 37:54time to talk about this next team.
- 37:56I knew I could get him the left. I was on the phone with
- 37:59different today and he's like the first thing he says is Joba
- 38:03Joba Joba likes my shrimp cocktail.
- 38:10How could you not like this in bed?
- 38:12He is one of the funniest people I've ever met.

- 39:56he goes. So Ovie Mihali, we're going to
- 39:58enjoy him on Wednesday. I'm sure I'm going to get him.
- 40:01To buy into Stranger Things, which is coming out in a few
- 40:05weeks. Did November, right?
- 40:07Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 40:08Ready for that? So if you're a Stranger Things
- 40:11fan, which I am, Final episodes. I've been waiting five years for
- 40:17this guy. So since COVID.
- 40:19Yeah. All right, So me too.
- 40:21I I'm. I've been waiting for it
- 40:23finally. Is that how long it's been?
- 40:25It's been the last season. It's been.
- 40:26No, the last 2002. The last season, 20/2/2022.
- 40:31Yeah. But even then, before then, they
- 40:32were, they had the season already.
- 40:34Yeah, but. Yeah.
- 40:35Yeah, but I I started watching it in 2000, so 20/20/22 I'm.
- 40:41Sorry, the girl started as a kid and now she's like married to
- 40:45Bon Jovi's kid in real life. Yeah, she is like 27.
- 40:49She is, yeah. It's going to be fun to watch.
- 40:52And it's funny because they were talking about how the first time
- 40:54when she first was on the show, she was a little kid.
- 40:55So she ended up actually shaving her head.
- 40:58And I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm not going to,
- 41:00but I'm just saying she, what's it called?
- 41:03They asked her to shave her head again for the newer season and
- 41:06she said no, which, like you said, she's a 27 year old woman.
- 41:08I don't know who has like luscious hair like that and then
- 41:11just wants to shave it all over again.
- 41:13Jabba, you know, maybe Jabba would have done it.
- 41:15You know, he doesn't need to shave his head.
- 41:17He doesn't need to shave his head.
- 41:18I'm ready. I I don't know if Jabba would
- 41:20look like her. So I don't know if he would be a
- 41:22good, you know, good fill in for that.
- 41:24But Jabba, are you a Stranger Things fan?
- 41:28You know what? I've never seen an 0.
- 41:29You should. You should start watching,
- 41:31that's pretty good. That is really good.
- 41:33Is it? Yeah, I think how many seasons
- 41:35is there or right now there'll be 1/5.
- 41:38So. 5th and final Final one. There's a really cool scene in
- 41:42the fourth season that involves an A classic Metallica song.
- 41:46And I don't watch. Yeah, in my opinion.

- 43:40albums better than that by Metallica.
