- 0:02Speaker 1: Well, they say everything is bigger in Texas, and this
- 0:05Speaker 1: weekend approved it. It wasn't just about who made it, though,
- 0:08Speaker 1: it was about who didn't. We had mistakes, drama, and
- 0:12Speaker 1: big names throwing away serious points. Cooda delivered chaos, comebacks
- 0:17Speaker 1: and a race that's already shaking up the championship. So
- 0:20Speaker 1: this episode of Pit Talk is brought to you by
- 0:22Speaker 1: Shannon's Insurance. I'm your host Rnita van Mulan, and joining
- 0:26Speaker 1: me is the man whose voice graces us every Murder
- 0:29Speaker 1: two and three practice and qualifying. It's mister Kiko Giles. Kiko,
- 0:35Speaker 1: welcome to Fox Sports Pit Talk.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Thank you for having me. You must be low on
- 0:39Speaker 2: the VIP list this week if I'm making an appearance, definitely,
- 0:43Speaker 2: as everyone will be able to see face for commentary.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I love that that's like your opening line, as you're
- 0:49Speaker 1: always like.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I might get it, may as well get it
- 0:52Speaker 2: in before anyone else does.
- 0:55Speaker 1: So we all know that Matt Clayton isn't here this weekend.
- 0:59Speaker 1: He is off in Adelaide on some other little side
- 1:03Speaker 1: quest with regards to basketball, something that I have no
- 1:06Speaker 1: idea about because I'm really interested in Moto GP and
- 1:09Speaker 1: that's exactly what we're here to talk about. So, Kiko,
- 1:12Speaker 1: we were both in Coder this weekend and ultimately going
- 1:16Speaker 1: in I think everybody was the same It's going to
- 1:19Speaker 1: be a Mark Marquez dominated weekend and that is not
- 1:23Speaker 1: what we saw. We saw Prillier strong once again. We
- 1:26Speaker 1: saw Joge Martin win a sprint, which was a phenomenal comeback,
- 1:30Speaker 1: especially after that celebration really turned into a crash down
- 1:35Speaker 1: the back straight. What was your key takeaways from this
- 1:38Speaker 1: weekend Encoder in Moto GP.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I've got to say we have got a proper championship
- 1:43Speaker 2: on this year, haven't we. I mean, it couldn't be
- 1:45Speaker 2: more different to the opening three Grand Prix of twenty
- 1:48Speaker 2: twenty five, when we had Mark Marqueyres, Alex Marquez and
- 1:51Speaker 2: Peco Vannai in some way, shape or form on what
- 1:54Speaker 2: felt like every single podium. Actually it was coded. It
- 1:57Speaker 2: was different because Mark crashed out the lead and we
- 2:00Speaker 2: had Fabio jan Antonio on the podium. But this year,
- 2:03Speaker 2: where do you start? It felt like we'd had an
- 2:05Speaker 2: entire year of action by the first sprint of the year,
- 2:09Speaker 2: massive call for Simon Kraifar to make But now in Kota.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I mean it was a case of and this was
- 2:18Speaker 2: a question I put to Mark Marquez at the end
- 2:20Speaker 2: of Sunday, is that if it didn't work here, where
- 2:23Speaker 2: is it going to work? And now are you more
- 2:24Speaker 2: concerned me befoward? Now he betted that one off, as
- 2:27Speaker 2: you expect from an eight time world champion and someone
- 2:31Speaker 2: who's very eloquent and dealing at dealing with the press.
- 2:34Speaker 2: But that is the next question. If it isn't working
- 2:38Speaker 2: at Cota, a track where Mark has had a flawless
- 2:42Speaker 2: record in terms of seven wins eight poles, I mean,
- 2:45Speaker 2: he didn't even make the podium. So you've got to
- 2:48Speaker 2: say Mark Marquez is probably in a little bit more
- 2:50Speaker 2: trouble than he would have anticipated him being in at
- 2:54Speaker 2: the start of this year. Now, whether that means that's
- 2:56Speaker 2: going to translate all the way through the season, I
- 2:58Speaker 2: doubt it. I'm exactly. I'm absolutely sure Mark's going to
- 3:02Speaker 2: come back in herres and just reminding opposition who is
- 3:05Speaker 2: world champion. But Dukati as well are struggling and we
- 3:08Speaker 2: had that amazing eighty eight Grand Prix streak with them
- 3:11Speaker 2: on the podium and that came to an end last year.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I think, and now we've had three very very strong
- 3:21Speaker 2: Grand Prix at the start of this year from a Prillier.
- 3:24Speaker 2: When Jiukati looks at them, testing like okay, Mark's going
- 3:28Speaker 2: to be maybe at the front, but not by the
- 3:30Speaker 2: same margin, it's actually turned out and a Prillier one
- 3:33Speaker 2: two in the Championship after three rounds. I think, if
- 3:36Speaker 2: I've got to be honest, that's probably my biggest takeaway.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Bez has obviously been flawless. You mentioned Jorge Martin in
- 3:41Speaker 2: the sprint was on the floor. I wouldn't say flawless
- 3:44Speaker 2: because he did wheel himself into the ground down the
- 3:47Speaker 2: back straight, but i Agura in the Grand Prix, Ralph
- 3:50Speaker 2: Fernandez has had a podium already this year in Thailand.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I've got to say, no one saw this coming. And Jucati,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I know they have all the fire power in the world.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Back in Bologna, they've got Mark Marquez on their bike.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Peco's a double world champion. Deja Antonio, in all credit
- 4:08Speaker 2: to him, is seemingly hooking it up over one lap.
- 4:11Speaker 2: But they will be looking at a Prillier thinking, okay,
- 4:14Speaker 2: hats off, we got to get a we gotta get
- 4:16Speaker 2: a wriggle on here and the comeback will start when
- 4:18Speaker 2: we get into your proper And what a way to
- 4:21Speaker 2: get into your at proper than Hares.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I'm so excited for that, and I
- 4:25Speaker 1: think that's everybody's been saying it all. Yeah, we need
- 4:27Speaker 1: the first two tracks are going to be more suited
- 4:30Speaker 1: to the Prilliers because of the herd attires, et cetera, etcetera.
- 4:33Speaker 1: We knew that, but this weekend, like I said earlier,
- 4:36Speaker 1: I genuinely thought everyone who'd asked me. We even had
- 4:39Speaker 1: it on the podcast. Me and Matt were saying, Mark Marquez,
- 4:42Speaker 1: this will be the weekend that we see him. It's
- 4:44Speaker 1: hard to not expect to see that come back from him.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I don't know about you, but I was. When I'd
- 4:51Speaker 1: seen Mark walking to like the media SCRAMs or to
- 4:54Speaker 1: do his debriefs or whatnot. He didn't look like his
- 4:57Speaker 1: usual self. And we know he had that massive crash
- 5:01Speaker 1: on the weekends. We know that injury maybe flared up.
- 5:03Speaker 1: You could see him with the bandages and whatnot on
- 5:05Speaker 1: his arm, but in his face, in his body language,
- 5:09Speaker 1: it almost looked like he was just defeated and deflated.
- 5:12Speaker 1: The whole weekend.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I think the thing with Mark is it's important to
- 5:16Speaker 2: know massive crash on Friday at Kota, a really unusual
- 5:21Speaker 2: crash as well over at turn Tent that would have
- 5:23Speaker 2: probably caught him by surprise as much as it would
- 5:25Speaker 2: have shook him up actually having the crash. But he
- 5:28Speaker 2: is coming back from a massive injury from last year
- 5:31Speaker 2: when he collided with Marco Bozeki over in Indonesia, so well,
- 5:35Speaker 2: rather Buzeki collided with Mark in Indonesia. But where I'm
- 5:39Speaker 2: going with that is I think that there's probably a
- 5:42Speaker 2: little bit more to this than we're perhaps letting on.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We saw Mark. I think he had three crashes in
- 5:48Speaker 2: the Burram test. It was either two or three, and
- 5:51Speaker 2: they were all very very similar, very very early into
- 5:55Speaker 2: the corner that he didn't even make the apex in
- 5:58Speaker 2: any of them. So I think, yeah, it was three
- 6:01Speaker 2: because last corner turned four or five and then turned
- 6:05Speaker 2: three and they were all the same. So there's obviously
- 6:08Speaker 2: the GP twenty six, and this just reiterates how good
- 6:11Speaker 2: the GP twenty four was. Remember last year the GP
- 6:13Speaker 2: twenty five really through PECO. The GP twenty six seems
- 6:17Speaker 2: to be an evolution and Mark has said, and he's
- 6:20Speaker 2: obviously going to say this because he's not gonna throw
- 6:23Speaker 2: Juctti under a bus. And Jucati have improved, but everyone
- 6:26Speaker 2: else has improved as well, and that's why I think
- 6:29Speaker 2: everyone's so surprised at Brilliant, because they've just stolen a
- 6:32Speaker 2: march towards the end of last year and also started
- 6:35Speaker 2: this year. But yeah, you're right, Mark, when I spoke
- 6:39Speaker 2: to him, he wasn't I wouldn't say he was frosty
- 6:43Speaker 2: because he wasn't frosty. He answered every question that I
- 6:46Speaker 2: put to him. But you could just tell that there's
- 6:48Speaker 2: a lot of head scratching to be done there in
- 6:51Speaker 2: Ducati and likewise on the other side of the box
- 6:54Speaker 2: as well, Peco. I mean, Sunday was not how he
- 6:58Speaker 2: would have imagined Cosa to unfold that, having been so
- 7:02Speaker 2: competitive there last year, dry or wet really so, I mean,
- 7:06Speaker 2: if it wasn't for Fabia de jan Antonio, we probably
- 7:09Speaker 2: would be speaking about Jucati as a wider topic, being
- 7:14Speaker 2: in a lot more trouble than they'd have liked to been.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Whereas I am convinced that this this three week break
- 7:20Speaker 2: or four weekends off is going to be a blessing
- 7:23Speaker 2: in disguise for Mark because it means that he's actually
- 7:26Speaker 2: got time to recover Kata. Obviously being postponed not what
- 7:30Speaker 2: anyone wanted, but it is going to help help mart
- 7:33Speaker 2: Marquez because he is coming in off that injury and
- 7:36Speaker 2: he's just picked up with you know, whether it was
- 7:38Speaker 2: an injury or not, he would have picked something up
- 7:40Speaker 2: in that massive crash over at Turn ten this weekend.
- 7:43Speaker 2: So yeah, deflated, I don't know, dejected for sure, and
- 7:48Speaker 2: in need of a comeback certainly.
- 7:51Speaker 1: What's your what's said on Pecker is a we Is
- 7:55Speaker 1: he making those steps? Is he making that improvement that
- 7:58Speaker 1: I guess was needed from last year, or is it
- 8:00Speaker 1: we're seeing I guess him level up because we're seeing
- 8:04Speaker 1: majority of the rest of the jucaddies kind of in
- 8:07Speaker 1: the same level playing field at the moment.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think Paco knows, I'll be honest,
- 8:14Speaker 2: I don't think Peco's known since last year what exactly.
- 8:17Speaker 2: He's obviously not got a feeling with the bike. He
- 8:20Speaker 2: just can't get into a rhythm with the bike. Then
- 8:23Speaker 2: he goes and does what he did in Japan last year.
- 8:25Speaker 2: But now it seems like Jucati are just not where
- 8:29Speaker 2: they want to be because they're trying to perfect a
- 8:32Speaker 2: package that was already so good from the GP twenty
- 8:35Speaker 2: four and maybe they've gone down a rabbit hole with
- 8:37Speaker 2: Mark and unfortunately they're just not finding a way. I mean,
- 8:42Speaker 2: Pecko's tenth in the Championship sunnings after three Grand Prix.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Can you believe that? I mean, he was a Grand
- 8:47Speaker 2: Prix winner after three Grand Prix last year. He's a
- 8:49Speaker 2: double world champion. Peco doesn't lose his talent overnight, that's
- 8:54Speaker 2: for certain. And he did have flashes of brilliance. I
- 8:57Speaker 2: mean we saw in the sprints, for example in kot
- 9:01Speaker 2: he looked like he had the job done. Just he
- 9:03Speaker 2: went with the wrong time. Martin outsmarted him. My map
- 9:05Speaker 2: from and Martin got him on the last lap, but
- 9:08Speaker 2: one lap shorts that Peco would have been your sprint winner.
- 9:11Speaker 2: But tenth in the Championship sendings, He's behind ral Fernandez,
- 9:13Speaker 2: Luca Marini ay Agura. It's yeah, what I would.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Say, a worry, worry, Okay, I like it.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I'm going to go out on that one. Let me
- 9:28Speaker 2: just check exactly where he's in the standing, because I
- 9:29Speaker 2: think I may have just been reading off the Grand
- 9:31Speaker 2: Prix results, but I'm not sure they're too different actually
- 9:34Speaker 2: from what we saw in the Grand Prix. Peco at
- 9:39Speaker 2: the moment, okay, yeah, he's just why he's two points
- 9:41Speaker 2: out of Luca Marini, but that's courtesy of his sprint.
- 9:43Speaker 2: At the weekend he is behind Agura. So touch on.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I let's touch on because I feel like that was
- 9:49Speaker 1: like the comeback ride of the century with regards to
- 9:53Speaker 1: a Priier, the first time a Japanese rider would have
- 9:56Speaker 1: been on, et cetera. Except there's like so much stuff
- 9:59Speaker 1: and the heart break, the heartbreak that we know there
- 10:02Speaker 1: was the engine troubles and whatnot causing him that early retirement.
- 10:05Speaker 1: But from Friday onwards, it just seems like a switch
- 10:09Speaker 1: had clicked for I and he was just fast. He
- 10:11Speaker 1: was confident and off he went.
- 10:13Speaker 2: It's been quick since the start of the season. That's
- 10:15Speaker 2: been the impressive thing. I think for a Prettiers, they've
- 10:17Speaker 2: had all four biked four in the top five. Don't
- 10:19Speaker 2: forget in the first go on period of the year.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Over in Brewer. I think for Eye it's such a
- 10:25Speaker 2: shame because I think there were points last year a
- 10:27Speaker 2: lot of big crashes, a couple of injuries along the way.
- 10:29Speaker 2: There were points of is he going to cut the
- 10:31Speaker 2: mustard e mortorgy picked? For sure? Now you can see
- 10:33Speaker 2: in the opening three go on pre eye when he's
- 10:35Speaker 2: on form and got a bike and a package that
- 10:38Speaker 2: works with him. Yes he can. Such a shame that
- 10:41Speaker 2: we never got to see the first a Prillia one
- 10:44Speaker 2: two three lockout. But there is some solace from all
- 10:48Speaker 2: of it is that we know IgA now has arrived.
- 10:51Speaker 2: So when you look at that, you've got to think, well, okay,
- 10:55Speaker 2: I Agua seventh in the championship standings. He really never
- 11:01Speaker 2: got to those heights last year. Very solid start to
- 11:05Speaker 2: twenty five in Thailand, but he's been consistent and it
- 11:10Speaker 2: wasn't through a crash. It was a DNF, a technical DNF,
- 11:13Speaker 2: so heartbreak for I. He did set the fastest lap
- 11:17Speaker 2: of the Grand Prix, which I was doing a little
- 11:19Speaker 2: bit of stat attack yesterday for an arc. All we've
- 11:22Speaker 2: got coming up on the motorgp dot com is that
- 11:24Speaker 2: that was the first Japanese order to set the fastest
- 11:27Speaker 2: lap since two thousand and four Makoto Tamada. Back then,
- 11:30Speaker 2: even before your brother was in moter GP. I think
- 11:32Speaker 2: he was probably winning races in World Superbike with Honda then.
- 11:36Speaker 2: But on top of that, you know you've got Ayagura,
- 11:41Speaker 2: who's coming good. Ralph Fernandez is let's say Plateau. The
- 11:44Speaker 2: last couple of GPS, he's not been as impressive, but
- 11:47Speaker 2: Prillier are just killing it at the minute. I mean,
- 11:51Speaker 2: no one would have seen this coming. I think. The
- 11:53Speaker 2: other thing for I is it's going to be interesting
- 11:55Speaker 2: when we get to Europe Perez lamon these tracks that
- 11:58Speaker 2: he's known, his stole, the tracks that everybody knows historically.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Let's see exactly where the competition stacks up. Are we
- 12:06Speaker 2: going to be expecting him to chase podiums in her
- 12:08Speaker 2: eth Let's be honest, it's unlikely because we know Mark's
- 12:11Speaker 2: in the comeback, Paco is going to be competitive, Alex
- 12:14Speaker 2: Marquez will be there, Bears Joorge, so there's a good mix.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But top six is top eights, yeah, I think so.
- 12:20Speaker 1: And do you think I will win a Grand Prix
- 12:23Speaker 1: this year than in Motor GP?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Big big ask big ask Emoto GP at a minute
- 12:28Speaker 2: when the rider has won all three Grand Prix is
- 12:30Speaker 2: one of the last five going back to last year
- 12:32Speaker 2: and led one hundred and twenty one laps in a row.
- 12:35Speaker 2: So even just the leader Lafumotor GP is quite hard.
- 12:39Speaker 2: That is obviously all going to run out. I mean
- 12:41Speaker 2: I cannot see Bez doing the business all the way
- 12:45Speaker 2: through the year like that kind of dominance is we're
- 12:49Speaker 2: going to win a Grand Prix. He's going to get podiums.
- 12:52Speaker 2: But I think to win a Grand Prix on pace,
- 12:56Speaker 2: I mean you can never write off in a weather
- 13:01Speaker 2: Grand Prix or in a Grand Prix with a couple
- 13:03Speaker 2: of incidents along the way, But on pace, I don't know. Podiums, yes,
- 13:10Speaker 2: Grand Prix win juries out on that one. Sorry. So
- 13:13Speaker 2: anyone who's a big Igura fan listening.
- 13:15Speaker 1: In, I love that you were just giving us like
- 13:17Speaker 1: the Mark marquers answers of like dodging.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Dodging the answer he's trained me.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Well, how funny was the fact that digit is like
- 13:26Speaker 1: fully fanboying over I Agrea though all we can I
- 13:28Speaker 1: know you've seen the comments.
- 13:30Speaker 2: On social right fantastic. I'm a big fan. I can
- 13:33Speaker 2: imagine he wasn't it turned twelve when and I put
- 13:36Speaker 2: the move on him. But I mean everyone's a fan
- 13:40Speaker 2: of I. I mean, I'm fortunate enough that I do
- 13:43Speaker 2: have quite a lot of contact time with the riders
- 13:45Speaker 2: across all classes, and I also get to enjoy the
- 13:48Speaker 2: grid experience for the Instagram lives with GP. And there
- 13:51Speaker 2: was one I think it was over in Brazil. Yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 2: it would have been in Gyana. And he's there on
- 13:56Speaker 2: the grid and he's yawning. It's like he's staying awake.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I just love his approach to life is just very relaxed,
- 14:04Speaker 2: very chill. He doesn't give you a lot, he doesn't
- 14:08Speaker 2: throw you a lot of headlines, but he is a
- 14:11Speaker 2: very very quirky and quiet character. And yeah, I like I.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I'm a big fan. I I wholly agree with Fabio
- 14:18Speaker 2: de jan Antonio big fan of I.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And let's say, a big fan of Aprillia at the moment.
- 14:24Speaker 1: So yeah, bet Zeki, Jorge Martin okay, I think massimok
- 14:30Speaker 1: came out and said that Aprillia has the best bike
- 14:33Speaker 1: at the moment. That's clear. We can see that. What
- 14:36Speaker 1: is up with bet Zechi though, what's happening between Saturday
- 14:40Speaker 1: and Sunday? Where is what is going on with him? There?
- 14:44Speaker 1: Is it the pressure of a sprint and then he
- 14:47Speaker 1: just has to get that out of the way to
- 14:48Speaker 1: then for a Sunday to then go and win.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I don't know, I really don't know. It could be
- 14:54Speaker 2: you know, tires, fuel load, It could be something that
- 14:57Speaker 2: he's just not comfortable with it. The start of the
- 14:59Speaker 2: Grand of the start of the sprints, I don't know.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I mean we often see the sprint is a little
- 15:05Speaker 2: bit different anyway to the Grand Prix. But for whatever reason,
- 15:09Speaker 2: I think back a couple of years, well we all
- 15:11Speaker 2: last year, a couple of years before that, Peco likewise
- 15:14Speaker 2: in the sprint, just not getting the feeling. We have
- 15:18Speaker 2: seen titles lost because of poor sprint. Peko is the
- 15:23Speaker 2: example of that in twenty twenty four, Yes, when Jem
- 15:27Speaker 2: Martine won it. I think Jem Martine all year won
- 15:30Speaker 2: three Grand Prix, but it was Pekko's DNFs in the
- 15:33Speaker 2: sprints or poor performances in the sprints and Jhey Martine
- 15:36Speaker 2: winning sprints that saw that happen. Now, it's so early
- 15:40Speaker 2: in the season, we can't put anything concrete on Bez
- 15:43Speaker 2: just yet. But I think what's worse is they are
- 15:48Speaker 2: mistakes that shouldn't happen because there's not really any pressure.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I mean, you saw Bez's reaction on Saturday. It was
- 15:55Speaker 2: he couldn't believe it as much as everyone else couldn't
- 15:57Speaker 2: believe it, because, I mean, look how tight the title
- 16:02Speaker 2: race is now. There's only a few points in between
- 16:04Speaker 2: the top two and Bez. Unfortunately for him, it was
- 16:08Speaker 2: Juway Martin who took the honors and then followed him
- 16:10Speaker 2: home on Sunday. So Martine's right in this race at
- 16:14Speaker 2: the moment. But no, I don't know really what's going
- 16:17Speaker 2: on with Bez in on Sprint Saturday. It could be
- 16:21Speaker 2: something qualifying because he's not you know, Okay, he got
- 16:25Speaker 2: on the front row with Grid the last two pre
- 16:28Speaker 2: year to start from fourth on Sunday and Coosa. But
- 16:30Speaker 2: maybe it's a matter of he just needs to prove
- 16:34Speaker 2: that he's fast on a Saturday. No idea, that would
- 16:37Speaker 2: be speculation. The main thing is he's dropping points where
- 16:41Speaker 2: there's fewer points to drop. If he was doing it
- 16:43Speaker 2: on Sundays, then it'd be like, what are you doing.
- 16:46Speaker 2: There's a phrase you can make a fast rider stop cushing,
- 16:51Speaker 2: but you can't make a slow rider fast. Bez isn't
- 16:53Speaker 2: doing enough cushing to warrant that at the minute. But
- 16:56Speaker 2: if he crashes out of another sprint, let's saying the
- 16:58Speaker 2: next two or three go on per weekend. There's going
- 17:00Speaker 2: to be questions asked from Pallabnora, from Massimo Rivela, and
- 17:05Speaker 2: from the entire crew, because there's going to be big
- 17:07Speaker 2: points being dropped, particularly in the case that we have
- 17:09Speaker 2: a fast and competitive and championship contending Jojem Martin chopping
- 17:13Speaker 2: at his ankles.
- 17:15Speaker 1: There's literally the next thing I was going to say.
- 17:16Speaker 1: With Joge Martin now on the uprise, it's like cool,
- 17:20Speaker 1: We're finally getting to see what he can actually do
- 17:23Speaker 1: on the aprillion rather than from unfortunately a hospital bed
- 17:27Speaker 1: or whatnot that we saw last year. I mean, amidst
- 17:30Speaker 1: everything that we know, there's the rumors of he's going
- 17:32Speaker 1: to change manufacturers. There was all that drama last year,
- 17:35Speaker 1: and then you see this escalation of just euphoria coming
- 17:41Speaker 1: from him for the fact of he's actually done it.
- 17:44Speaker 1: He's got on wan to sprint, he's back on the
- 17:46Speaker 1: program music actually on the front of the leading pack.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Is this Jjem Martin now is he going to be
- 17:53Speaker 1: really that one to put it to Macrobedzechi And is
- 17:56Speaker 1: this where we could see the cracks start to form
- 17:58Speaker 1: with Macrobedzeki.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Oh don't know about cracks. I think for Johey Martin, firstly,
- 18:05Speaker 2: what a story it is after everything he went through
- 18:08Speaker 2: last year. He did what fourteen laps pre season testing
- 18:12Speaker 2: in Malaysia, he didn't come back till Katar, then he
- 18:14Speaker 2: was out injured in Silbreno. Then he picks up another
- 18:17Speaker 2: one I think in Japan. So you know, Jogem Martin's
- 18:20Speaker 2: twenty twenty five was just a disaster. So for him
- 18:24Speaker 2: to come back and be this competitive straight away is
- 18:28Speaker 2: actually quite remarkable. But he is a world champion. This
- 18:32Speaker 2: is what world champions do. They come back, They bite
- 18:34Speaker 2: the bullet, they go through the ar times and they
- 18:36Speaker 2: come back a lot of times stronger. Look at Mark
- 18:38Speaker 2: last year. What I do think is Jogey Martin probably
- 18:45Speaker 2: when he's fully fit, because he's still not fully fit,
- 18:47Speaker 2: he's still having to undergo I mean we saw him
- 18:50Speaker 2: testing he had to miss the first test of the
- 18:52Speaker 2: year due to surgery. When he is absolutely fully fit
- 18:57Speaker 2: and coming up to tracks where he's been rapid in
- 18:59Speaker 2: the past. Thinking in her Earth, but particularly Lamont, I
- 19:05Speaker 2: can really really see Jim Martin given Marcobedzaki a hard time.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Now new thing for a Prillier will be how they
- 19:13Speaker 2: manage that situation. Don't forget they signed Jogem Martin as
- 19:16Speaker 2: the number one rider. Marco Beedzeki is your championship leader
- 19:20Speaker 2: and was your standout at Prillier last year. You can
- 19:25Speaker 2: you say that he was the number one rider last year?
- 19:27Speaker 2: Of course you can. He was the number one rider.
- 19:29Speaker 2: He took over the reigns in a Prillier's development. But
- 19:33Speaker 2: number one is a fluid thing. You can be number
- 19:36Speaker 2: one one year, not number one the next year. And
- 19:38Speaker 2: Johem Martine is not going to want to be playing
- 19:42Speaker 2: second field to someone who he's beaten him out at
- 19:45Speaker 2: three beating him Otor two has a world title over
- 19:48Speaker 2: in Motor GP, and he's now sharing the camp with
- 19:51Speaker 2: in a Prillier. And this is really the first time
- 19:53Speaker 2: we see them as teammates competitive teammates, So that is
- 19:57Speaker 2: going to be an interesting dynamic and how a Prillier
- 19:59Speaker 2: managed that situation. But prilly have never had to manage
- 20:01Speaker 2: this situation before, They've never really had two riders. It
- 20:05Speaker 2: could easily in six months time be the only two
- 20:09Speaker 2: that are fighting for the title. If Jucati can't sort
- 20:11Speaker 2: out whatever problems they're having, I think it'd be unfair
- 20:14Speaker 2: to discount Pedro a Costa entirely. But is the case
- 20:17Speaker 2: im a consistent package. Not sure. He's the only one
- 20:19Speaker 2: at the minute who seems able to be able to
- 20:22Speaker 2: do anything, with the exception of an Airbash Union who
- 20:25Speaker 2: turned up for one weekend in Cota, which I'm absolutely
- 20:28Speaker 2: delighted for, but with a Prillier, they've clearly got the
- 20:31Speaker 2: best bike Jujima ten. It will be a great story
- 20:36Speaker 2: if he can take it to Marco Bedzeki. But he's
- 20:39Speaker 2: got to win on Sunday first, and once he does,
- 20:41Speaker 2: then we'll see some fireworks.
- 20:44Speaker 1: You mentioned Pedro Acosta there, and I'm really glad you did,
- 20:47Speaker 1: because there was a fun stat that came up on
- 20:50Speaker 1: the broadcast on Sunday was a Pedro Acosta's e called
- 20:54Speaker 1: Colin Edwards. With the amount of podiums and non wins
- 20:58Speaker 1: in real GP career, I mean, I can't believe that
- 21:01Speaker 1: Pedro okay third in the championship currently. You know, he's
- 21:04Speaker 1: been on the podium multiple times this year. It's almost
- 21:08Speaker 1: like we're seeing like a reminiscence of Mark at Fonda
- 21:11Speaker 1: where it's Pedro is able to ride the bike and
- 21:13Speaker 1: then the rest are struggling and finding that. But I mean,
- 21:17Speaker 1: just the fact that he still hasn't won a Grand
- 21:19Speaker 1: Prix is bananas, right, It's crazy.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I know, I can imagine he really really thanked my
- 21:26Speaker 2: colleagues in the IPF for that one. So just highlighting
- 21:30Speaker 2: the fact that he's still not won a Grand Prix
- 21:32Speaker 2: and the fact that now he's tied with Colin ed
- 21:34Speaker 2: was the most is it most podiums without a Grand
- 21:36Speaker 2: Prix win. That's the start, isn't it. So Pedro's going
- 21:40Speaker 2: to win one. I mean where I don't know, you
- 21:43Speaker 2: could argue that, yes he's won a sprint, we don't
- 21:45Speaker 2: class that as a Grand Prix victory. And would you
- 21:47Speaker 2: have won the sprint if Mark wasn't told to bail
- 21:49Speaker 2: out at the last corner, No, because that Mark duffed
- 21:53Speaker 2: him up the lap before. But Petro's going to win one.
- 21:56Speaker 2: We just don't know where. We know. The ACM is
- 21:58Speaker 2: quick actually in Barcelona, owns a bit more back to
- 22:01Speaker 2: its usual slot this year in May. But Pedro is
- 22:04Speaker 2: going to win one. But until he does, the question
- 22:07Speaker 2: is always going to be, How can you consider him
- 22:10Speaker 2: a championship contender if he's not won to go on prix. Pedro,
- 22:13Speaker 2: I know, will consider himself a championship contender, and he is.
- 22:17Speaker 2: The point is, the question is asked, well, until you've
- 22:19Speaker 2: won to goand prix, how can you be? But then again,
- 22:23Speaker 2: Bes has obviously got mistakes in him. We've seen enough
- 22:25Speaker 2: of that. Jorge Martin hasn't won a Grand Prix in
- 22:28Speaker 2: twenty twenty six. Yet he hasn't won one since twenty
- 22:32Speaker 2: twenty four. Obviously, he hasn't won one in his time
- 22:34Speaker 2: in a prillier, so Acosta is a kind of in
- 22:35Speaker 2: the same boat. The problem is that a costa you
- 22:37Speaker 2: always feel because he is so far as you say,
- 22:40Speaker 2: n he's so far ahead of the other ktms. It's
- 22:44Speaker 2: like he's always about ten meters away from losing the front.
- 22:48Speaker 2: He's on the limit with that machine. He's doing absolutely
- 22:52Speaker 2: everything in his power to get that machine to work
- 22:55Speaker 2: for him, and it still doesn't get him to go
- 22:58Speaker 2: on pre win because the package is that ahead of him,
- 23:00Speaker 2: just got that bit more bit more performance, and until
- 23:04Speaker 2: Pedro is able to you know, I won't say dominate
- 23:07Speaker 2: a Grand Prix, but winner Grand Prix with a little
- 23:11Speaker 2: bit of margin and look comfortable doing so you've got
- 23:14Speaker 2: to ask how long can he stay in the title
- 23:17Speaker 2: race because you need to be winning. That's the main
- 23:20Speaker 2: thing which.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I think is insane. For the fact that the rumors
- 23:23Speaker 1: are circling that Pedro is going to go and team
- 23:26Speaker 1: up with Mark Marquez at fast if Mark's going to resign.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I mean, this is the other thing that's coming up now,
- 23:31Speaker 1: is he going to is the injuries, et cetera, et cetera. Yeah,
- 23:35Speaker 1: I think the fact that okay, yeah, Pedro's now in
- 23:38Speaker 1: his third season of Moto GP, right fourth the third season,
- 23:42Speaker 1: hasn't won the Grand Prix and he's going to go
- 23:44Speaker 1: to what at the beginning of the year was arguably
- 23:48Speaker 1: their best team in the in the whole series is insane.
- 23:53Speaker 1: There's clearly something about Pedro that obviously people are saying
- 23:57Speaker 1: and now we as fans are getting to see because
- 23:59Speaker 1: this is Pedro riding, like you said, the absolute wheels
- 24:03Speaker 1: off that katm like Fabiau has done in the past
- 24:06Speaker 1: with the Yamaha, like Mark did in the past with
- 24:08Speaker 1: the Honda. Right, do you think all that's silly seasoned?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Stuff's gonna come for soon, and do you think Mark's
- 24:15Speaker 1: gonna re sign? What's your goal with that? Because now
- 24:17Speaker 1: I'm starting to hear whispers of like a maybe maybe not.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I love being in the paddock because you hear a
- 24:24Speaker 2: new rumor every day and it's not me making him up.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I don't need to make any more rubbish up and
- 24:30Speaker 2: get away with enough of that on the on commentary,
- 24:34Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, I wonder what Pedro's thinking.
- 24:37Speaker 2: If it is let's put a big if caveat on this,
- 24:40Speaker 2: if it is to be believed, and he is signing
- 24:42Speaker 2: off to Jukti, what's he thinking seeing the Ducati boys
- 24:45Speaker 2: struggle and I struggle. I mean, Pedro's ahead of him,
- 24:50Speaker 2: what's he thinking, Because for sure it's not gonna be.
- 24:54Speaker 2: He's not gonna be. I don't think he's gonna be
- 24:56Speaker 2: doubting his own ability because he's showing us what he's
- 24:59Speaker 2: able to do. It's like Fabrio, we know how good
- 25:02Speaker 2: Fabrio is, and top Rack, we know how good top
- 25:04Speaker 2: Breck can and will eventually be, but they've just not
- 25:06Speaker 2: got the packages at the minute. But with Pedro, he's
- 25:09Speaker 2: probably fancying his chances to go in and ruffle feathers.
- 25:11Speaker 2: If Mark signs, I think Mark's gonna sign. I mean,
- 25:15Speaker 2: Mark says he's only interested in signing if he's one
- 25:18Speaker 2: hundred percent fit, If he's one hundred percent fit with himself,
- 25:23Speaker 2: fit with the bike. He's already achieved the one thing
- 25:27Speaker 2: he wanted to post twenty twenty Hareth injury, winning another
- 25:31Speaker 2: world title. He did that last year, so he hasn't
- 25:34Speaker 2: got and I don't think Mark's the kind of person
- 25:36Speaker 2: who will be chasing money. I mean, he had a
- 25:38Speaker 2: good stint at Honda, big contracts a Honda. Of course,
- 25:41Speaker 2: he was on a four year deal before it all
- 25:43Speaker 2: went wrong. You know, he had to come kind of
- 25:46Speaker 2: come back with a tail between his legs to an
- 25:48Speaker 2: independent team, to Grissini and Jucatty. Obviously he would have
- 25:53Speaker 2: got a good salary and a good wage and a
- 25:55Speaker 2: good bonus out of them last year. But Mark's not
- 25:58Speaker 2: one who strikes me is chasing money. He is not
- 26:02Speaker 2: one that I see. He wants to be on a
- 26:04Speaker 2: competitive bike. That's why he jumps it from a very
- 26:06Speaker 2: cushty Honda job and a very very happy relationship with Honda.
- 26:11Speaker 2: It all ended very very friendly and amicably and whatever.
- 26:17Speaker 2: I don't see Mark as being someone who's going to
- 26:20Speaker 2: be chasing dollar. However, I do see Mark because he
- 26:25Speaker 2: can't help himself, as we saw on Saturday, want to
- 26:28Speaker 2: be competitive. And if he's on a ducat do you
- 26:31Speaker 2: think he's going to allow if Pedro does come in,
- 26:34Speaker 2: He's going to allow Pedro just to come in and
- 26:36Speaker 2: rule the roost. Absolutely not. Mark's gonna be absolutely on
- 26:39Speaker 2: the ragged edge to beat Pedro. That's why we like
- 26:43Speaker 2: Mark because he is human and when the red bisk
- 26:45Speaker 2: comes down, he goes and does something a bit crazy,
- 26:48Speaker 2: and sometimes he gets away with it, and sometimes he
- 26:50Speaker 2: doesn't get away with it. But I do think Mark'd
- 26:52Speaker 2: in the resign and I do think it's going to
- 26:54Speaker 2: be for a couple of years. But that is a
- 26:59Speaker 2: thought that is not a confirmation. And as you say,
- 27:02Speaker 2: there are whispers in the paddock that maybe it's all
- 27:05Speaker 2: being reconsidered at least because of where is the ducatiat
- 27:09Speaker 2: at the moment. And obviously the REGs change, so it's
- 27:12Speaker 2: not that important about this year's bike evolving into next.
- 27:15Speaker 2: But you know, Mark is also obviously not one hundred
- 27:19Speaker 2: percent fit, and that's the big caveat. When he's one
- 27:22Speaker 2: hundred percent fit, he'll sign it was Saturday.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I just you just spark this thought on my mind.
- 27:28Speaker 1: It was Saturday, Mark pushing to yes, Yeah, okay, I
- 27:35Speaker 1: did with them, did you? Yeah? Exactly. I didn't know
- 27:38Speaker 1: if it was like a him trying to grow not
- 27:42Speaker 1: I know what I can do here. I need to
- 27:44Speaker 1: get to the front, or I need to do it,
- 27:46Speaker 1: or if it was just a silly mistake that caught
- 27:49Speaker 1: him out like what we saw on Friday.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Well, he said in his debriefs that it was a
- 27:53Speaker 2: three bike slipstream that dragged him down into the breaking
- 27:57Speaker 2: area way too fast. Had to commit, didn't anticipated da
- 28:01Speaker 2: da da. Now I'm not a rider, so I can't
- 28:04Speaker 2: comment on that. We have to take what Mark says
- 28:07Speaker 2: is true. And I'm sure there was an element of
- 28:09Speaker 2: he got sucked in, But you're telling me that there
- 28:12Speaker 2: was absolutely zero percent of that move that stemmed from
- 28:16Speaker 2: what did you perfectly put on him? He out Mark
- 28:19Speaker 2: Marquez Mark Marquees in the opening sector turned seven up
- 28:24Speaker 2: through eight, And I said this to a load to
- 28:27Speaker 2: all our colleagues, to Jack, Appyard, Matt but et cetera.
- 28:30Speaker 2: In the in the Media Center after. For me, it
- 28:32Speaker 2: wasn't so much of the move that turned seven passes
- 28:35Speaker 2: is on it is possible. For me, it was the
- 28:39Speaker 2: line he took into tournate. He just got that bike
- 28:41Speaker 2: stood up just enough just to close the door and
- 28:45Speaker 2: stop Mark having a punch straight back at Tournay. And
- 28:49Speaker 2: then obviously Mark isn't going to sit there. I mean
- 28:52Speaker 2: he came from a long way back. It's got to
- 28:53Speaker 2: be said. He came from a long way back at
- 28:55Speaker 2: turn twelve and you kind of got the impression that
- 28:59Speaker 2: this is going to run and wide. But Mark just
- 29:01Speaker 2: can't help himself. That's why we like him. It's why
- 29:04Speaker 2: I'm a bit of a fan of Mark Marquez for that,
- 29:07Speaker 2: because he just shows that he cannot just accept being defeated,
- 29:12Speaker 2: not against someone on the same bike. I mean, if
- 29:15Speaker 2: the package isn't working, at least if it's not working
- 29:17Speaker 2: for everyone, he'll still grind the RESULTO. But yeah, there
- 29:21Speaker 2: was that was an interesting talking point. And yeah, obviously
- 29:24Speaker 2: it kind of ruined Mark Sunday because Mark's pace when
- 29:27Speaker 2: he drop when he cause he had to do the
- 29:28Speaker 2: long lap. When he took the long lap, he was
- 29:31Speaker 2: seven seconds behind bets Now a few laps later he
- 29:34Speaker 2: was seven seconds behind Bets. His pace was I wouldn't
- 29:37Speaker 2: say exactly the same as Bess, but it was in
- 29:39Speaker 2: and around the ballpark of Beds. Mark would have been
- 29:41Speaker 2: on the podium. This is something he was saying to
- 29:43Speaker 2: me on Sunday. But obviously passing at Cota, as Mark showed,
- 29:48Speaker 2: isn't easy. You do get it wrong and it kind
- 29:50Speaker 2: of messes up a next round of corners. But he
- 29:53Speaker 2: did well. I mean he came back for what was
- 29:54Speaker 2: it fifth at the end I think he was so,
- 29:57Speaker 2: you know, a top five still is not bad. He
- 30:00Speaker 2: wasn't top to Cati those on as went to Digitya,
- 30:02Speaker 2: but yeah, you know Mark top five at Cota, he
- 30:05Speaker 2: would have been won in an eighth.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Win, I mean yeah, top five at Koda and then
- 30:09Speaker 1: right behind him and a Bashanini from where.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Where from where where's this come from? I mean, Gunta
- 30:18Speaker 2: Stein has been at the last few Grand Prix. I
- 30:19Speaker 2: think he was in Thailand. He's done the first three
- 30:21Speaker 2: I think, so maybe there's been a bit of pressure
- 30:24Speaker 2: from an AA at four an AA to actually grind
- 30:27Speaker 2: out a result. But yeah, again just a ne A
- 30:29Speaker 2: Basciardini thinks. I mean, it seems that one weekend he's there,
- 30:33Speaker 2: one at weekend he's not. Remember last year in Bruno
- 30:36Speaker 2: he was right there, and then in Catalouonya he was
- 30:39Speaker 2: right there, and then he was right there again in Cota.
- 30:42Speaker 2: I mean it's just I mean, I like it. I
- 30:46Speaker 2: think he's a quality rider, but he is so up
- 30:50Speaker 2: and down.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Yeah yeah literally, I mean we know his teammate Maverick
- 30:55Speaker 1: Vignalez to sit this one out. He's had a big
- 30:57Speaker 1: chunk of metal pulled out of his shoulder, which you
- 31:00Speaker 1: can go and see on social media if you want
- 31:03Speaker 1: to see that. I'm not saying we have to feel
- 31:07Speaker 1: free to now before we move on to our Aussies
- 31:10Speaker 1: in the lower categories, and we just want to say
- 31:12Speaker 1: so top rack rads get lit. We know that you're
- 31:15Speaker 1: a big fan of top rack. We've seen that on
- 31:17Speaker 1: the Instagram lives and whatnot. Yeah, hot performing Yamaha this weekend.
- 31:22Speaker 1: How cool.
- 31:23Speaker 2: I've got to say. You know top Rac fifteenth, I mean,
- 31:27Speaker 2: he I know. I'm fortunate enough that I've worked with
- 31:30Speaker 2: top Pack long enough that I have quite a good
- 31:32Speaker 2: relationship with him. I've been in supervites for anyone who's
- 31:35Speaker 2: been not following super bhytes. So I know top Rack
- 31:37Speaker 2: since twenty eighty and he will hate the fact that
- 31:42Speaker 2: he is having to not only look all the way
- 31:45Speaker 2: down the order, but he's not going to be competitive
- 31:47Speaker 2: because the Yamaha. And this is not a fault of Yamaha,
- 31:50Speaker 2: it is a philosophical change. They are not going to
- 31:54Speaker 2: be competitive. They know that they're doing the hard yards
- 31:57Speaker 2: now to get research and data and all the things
- 32:00Speaker 2: if they need for the twenty twenty seven res. Now
- 32:03Speaker 2: some of that needs to be a V four engine
- 32:05Speaker 2: and now to develop one. So okay, fair enough. Top
- 32:08Speaker 2: Breck still jumped ship to Motor GP because he knows
- 32:10Speaker 2: he can do it on a competitive bike. He's not
- 32:13Speaker 2: on one, but he's still grinding out results. And I've
- 32:15Speaker 2: got to say I was speaking with a few guys
- 32:18Speaker 2: at the end of Sunday about this. Top Brack has
- 32:20Speaker 2: no business being ahead of Fabio Classaro, who you know,
- 32:24Speaker 2: at one point this year in Brazil looked like, surely,
- 32:29Speaker 2: how is Fabio doing this? Getting it on the second
- 32:31Speaker 2: earlder grid to front of the second earl of grid
- 32:32Speaker 2: stick in the sprint. I think in Gooyani, I'm fairly sure.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Fabia would have rolled out of it towards the end
- 32:39Speaker 2: of the Grand Prix, but Topreck was right there all
- 32:41Speaker 2: the way through. I was keeping it on his gap.
- 32:42Speaker 2: It was about three tenths, four tenths. Never really much
- 32:45Speaker 2: more top Breck when he was sixteenth, up to Fabio
- 32:48Speaker 2: Klasavara in fifteenth. But I mean first points in Motor GP, well,
- 32:52Speaker 2: first points for top Brack in Motor GP. Fantastic result
- 32:56Speaker 2: at a track he's never ridden. He did a few
- 32:58Speaker 2: BMW track days or track laps there on a track
- 33:02Speaker 2: day last year. Top job. He's in a team that
- 33:06Speaker 2: it's not the factory team, but okay, they've won titles whatever.
- 33:10Speaker 2: He was behind Jack Miller. Sorry to all the Australians
- 33:13Speaker 2: listening to this, but would you have expected him to
- 33:15Speaker 2: be ahead of Jack Miller after three Grand Prix? Probably not.
- 33:18Speaker 2: And the other thing with top Rack is obviously is
- 33:22Speaker 2: still adapting to the Mitchellands. He will love Perelli when
- 33:25Speaker 2: they come back in next year or coming next year.
- 33:27Speaker 2: He's getting back on them because he has real feel
- 33:30Speaker 2: with the Perellis. But he's never ridden a V four
- 33:33Speaker 2: in anything. I mean, will super bits. It's only Ducattie
- 33:37Speaker 2: that run a V four Yamaha run across playing crank
- 33:39Speaker 2: in line for BMW. It's an in line four Honda.
- 33:42Speaker 2: It's an inline four Kawazakibimoto, it's an inline for so
- 33:45Speaker 2: top Rack's having to know now this V four engine
- 33:47Speaker 2: actually handles where its characteristics are lying and the strengths
- 33:53Speaker 2: and weaknesses. Have said V four all the time trying
- 33:56Speaker 2: to develop one with Yamaha. So fair play to top Brack.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I mean, he's he's such a such a good guy.
- 34:05Speaker 2: As you know, I'm a big fan. But I'm a
- 34:07Speaker 2: big fan not because of his achievements. I'm a big
- 34:09Speaker 2: fan of the person of top Brack. He's very humble,
- 34:12Speaker 2: very real, and there were a lot of happy faces.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I think have you seen the video He's coming down
- 34:17Speaker 2: pitt Lane after the Grand Prix and just Pranrak had delighted.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I mean the top of the Amaha in his third
- 34:24Speaker 2: Grand Prix, big big result for top Bracker. Now he
- 34:27Speaker 2: gets the tracks, what he actually knows. I mean HERETHI
- 34:29Speaker 2: knows Barcelona, he knows where else we go after that?
- 34:32Speaker 2: Asen he knows, he'll know Balaton, he won't know Magello,
- 34:35Speaker 2: he won't know Lamon, but he might have even been
- 34:38Speaker 2: there for Red Bull Rookies because of course he did
- 34:39Speaker 2: Red Bull Rookies, but that was back in twenty thirteen.
- 34:42Speaker 2: These are tracks he's not been at regularly. Let's say,
- 34:44Speaker 2: similar to Cota, but yeah fair fair dues to top rack,
- 34:49Speaker 2: and of course he's also not just doing it with
- 34:51Speaker 2: a whole new team. It is an entire entirely new
- 34:54Speaker 2: team because he's not with his Creuchie film Marrion. Phil's
- 34:57Speaker 2: obviously working with Brad Binder at the minute, so lots
- 35:00Speaker 2: to get used to for top rack and three Grand
- 35:03Speaker 2: Prix in top Yamaha. Yeah impressive.
- 35:07Speaker 1: No, you're so right. I didn't even think of that.
- 35:09Speaker 1: But the fact of yeah, diego ok. He's in MotoGP
- 35:12Speaker 1: as a rookie, but he's ridden all these tracks apart
- 35:14Speaker 1: from Guenna, where everybody had never been before. That's so
- 35:18Speaker 1: true about top rack that the first three of the
- 35:20Speaker 1: season he's also never ridden on a race bike as such.
- 35:25Speaker 2: No, he would have done Buri Ram for a couple
- 35:27Speaker 2: of years, but only a couple and this was top
- 35:30Speaker 2: rack in his infancy when he was learning, so I
- 35:33Speaker 2: would still count it. But it is obviously it's not
- 35:35Speaker 2: going to be an Assen where he's come every year
- 35:38Speaker 2: for the last seven, eight, nine, ten years. But you know,
- 35:43Speaker 2: the other thing is versus Diogo Mara. We know Diego's
- 35:46Speaker 2: levels just as high and can be just as high.
- 35:49Speaker 2: But Yoga's on a Honda. The Honda was on the
- 35:51Speaker 2: podium at times last year. Joe Anzarka is Make one
- 35:54Speaker 2: and iffy French Grand Prix, but still was on the
- 35:56Speaker 2: podium in normal dry Grand Prix or chasing podiums in
- 35:59Speaker 2: normal dragon On pri too. So Marera's on a package
- 36:03Speaker 2: that does work. We know the Yamaha is definitely the
- 36:06Speaker 2: fifth manufacturer at the moment, and that's normal. They have
- 36:10Speaker 2: had to change in entire philosophy. I'm not running Yamaha down,
- 36:13Speaker 2: but top Brack knows that he's not going to be competitive,
- 36:16Speaker 2: but he's still ahead of the other Yamahas. That's impressive.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I'm so glad you just mentioned Honor because I thought, oh,
- 36:21Speaker 1: let me just look at their results real quick. Luca
- 36:24Speaker 1: Marine is in two top tens this weekend though.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Fantastic from Luca. But the other side of the box,
- 36:29Speaker 2: you and me again, I mean what I had a
- 36:33Speaker 2: I think, yeah, I did chat with him. It was
- 36:35Speaker 2: me he was chatting with him. And it's just like
- 36:37Speaker 2: with this bike, there is no warning when you're on
- 36:40Speaker 2: the limit. But you know he's going for top five,
- 36:43Speaker 2: top sixes. But another crash, I mean jo and me
- 36:48Speaker 2: is he's desperate to get to the end of He's
- 36:51Speaker 2: desperate to see a check of flag. It this way,
- 36:53Speaker 2: but he's desperate to show that he can be that
- 36:56Speaker 2: top six sideer for Honda. But he can't be throwing
- 37:01Speaker 2: Grand Prix away like that. And I think when we
- 37:03Speaker 2: get to Harres and once now we get into stable Europe,
- 37:07Speaker 2: let's say we will see a few a bit better
- 37:12Speaker 2: performance from Joanne and he will get to the check
- 37:14Speaker 2: in flag Worth noticing in Buriram wasn't his fault, you know,
- 37:18Speaker 2: the tire delaminated or destroyed itself. But Guyana and Kota
- 37:24Speaker 2: two big mistakes.
- 37:26Speaker 1: For those listening, go and check out Matt's article on
- 37:29Speaker 1: Fox sports dot com dot au Ford Slash e Mootorsport
- 37:31Speaker 1: because he touches on a section in his latest pit
- 37:35Speaker 1: talk called Crash Magnet. So go and read that all
- 37:39Speaker 1: about Juan Meal, which I was like, that's a very
- 37:42Speaker 1: relevant title and there's a bunch of other stuff in
- 37:44Speaker 1: there that Matt has got from the latest goss from
- 37:48Speaker 1: the Moto GP paddock. But let's move on to our
- 37:52Speaker 1: assis Inmoto, to our assie. Shall we say our race
- 37:55Speaker 1: winner in one? We're only in one Senna agis waw
- 38:01Speaker 1: I said, So we always mentioned it in here that
- 38:04Speaker 1: me and Matt we're always talking throughout the weekend. And
- 38:07Speaker 1: I said to Matt Friday, I said, Senna's going to
- 38:10Speaker 1: be on for a podium this weekend. And it was
- 38:13Speaker 1: like Saturday afternoon after qualifying, Matt GRoWES, I think you're
- 38:17Speaker 1: right here. There's just something this weekend.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I know.
- 38:20Speaker 1: We went and spoke to his dad, Johnno, and Johno's
- 38:23Speaker 1: like something's clicked for him here where last year even
- 38:27Speaker 1: Senn was like I was terrible, and then all of
- 38:30Speaker 1: a sudden, something's changed. Okay, let's recap THO Moto too.
- 38:34Speaker 1: To start with, I was standing right in front of
- 38:38Speaker 1: where Sen was taking off. To me, it looked like
- 38:40Speaker 1: he jumped the start because I saw him shake his
- 38:42Speaker 1: head and then we saw that massive crash that happened,
- 38:47Speaker 1: Like what in the name of God was going on
- 38:51Speaker 1: with that? Then we had the race restart, and then
- 38:55Speaker 1: all of a sudden Senna made his way through. We
- 38:57Speaker 1: saw that epic battle that he had with v I believe,
- 39:01Speaker 1: and it just seems like he was just cau as
- 39:04Speaker 1: a qcmbar so in control and just wrote the thing
- 39:07Speaker 1: to the finish line. What was your take from Senna
- 39:10Speaker 1: this weekend?
- 39:11Speaker 2: Really impressive and I think, do you know what? This
- 39:15Speaker 2: is something we spoke about with johno is dad was
- 39:18Speaker 2: that Guyana was hard. It was hard for a lot
- 39:21Speaker 2: of reasons for the team because obviously Sender was one
- 39:24Speaker 2: of his main mechanics. Robbie lunar day in an RTA
- 39:27Speaker 2: in between Thailand and Brazil, so they were a man
- 39:30Speaker 2: down the paddocks, a man down. This is never a
- 39:32Speaker 2: nice feeling. This is something I spoke about on commentary
- 39:35Speaker 2: over in Guyana, and I think Senna was just so
- 39:39Speaker 2: maybe distracted, but he didn't want to admit it, or
- 39:41Speaker 2: he didn't even realize himself, but there was something missing,
- 39:45Speaker 2: you know. And then he turns up in Austin and
- 39:48Speaker 2: I've got to say, from the restart, I think he
- 39:51Speaker 2: was always going to win, that there was no way
- 39:54Speaker 2: Senna was going to settle for P two and Chellastine Oviet.
- 39:58Speaker 2: It was a very very classy rye, a very classy celebration.
- 40:02Speaker 2: But this is what we know senecn do. He can
- 40:04Speaker 2: win it at a canter up the front. He can
- 40:07Speaker 2: win it in a head to head battle with other riders.
- 40:10Speaker 2: We saw that at Silver Soon last year. The dominance
- 40:12Speaker 2: was in Australia and now he had to grind the
- 40:15Speaker 2: results out. But again I think he was always on
- 40:17Speaker 2: for that victory from the restart. What a win. And
- 40:22Speaker 2: you've got to say, if Sene can actually be consistent,
- 40:26Speaker 2: this is one big thing that Senna's had a problem
- 40:28Speaker 2: with over in twenty twenty five is he's very up
- 40:31Speaker 2: and down. If he can be consistent, I'll tell you
- 40:34Speaker 2: what Senna's got, the pace that can go all the
- 40:36Speaker 2: way in this championship. We saw I think it was
- 40:39Speaker 2: Manu Gonzalez last year sixty n f's or six race
- 40:44Speaker 2: weekends without points. Consistency is massive in Moto too. Diogo
- 40:50Speaker 2: Marera not as inconsistent but was good at the end
- 40:53Speaker 2: of the season. If Senna does the donkey work early
- 40:56Speaker 2: on and can just hold a steady top four, top
- 40:59Speaker 2: three pain right the way through the season, Sena's going
- 41:02Speaker 2: to be there at the end and that's massive for
- 41:05Speaker 2: you guys, particularly because you know obviously Jack Miller he's
- 41:08Speaker 2: only on a one year deal of his contracts up
- 41:11Speaker 2: anyway at the end of this year like most riders,
- 41:14Speaker 2: and you guys have got Adelaide, you know you're going
- 41:16Speaker 2: to need a fast Australian because you get the feeling
- 41:19Speaker 2: that even if Jack was to stay in Moso GP
- 41:22Speaker 2: with the Pramac team on a V four Yamaha, it's
- 41:25Speaker 2: still not going to be competitive. Whereas Sena, whether he
- 41:28Speaker 2: moves up to Motor GP, stays in Motor too, you
- 41:31Speaker 2: can guarantee that when we get down to Adelaide for
- 41:33Speaker 2: the first time, he's going to be bringing in fans
- 41:36Speaker 2: and he'll probably be pretty quick. So big big year
- 41:40Speaker 2: for Cener this and for us as Motor GP to
- 41:44Speaker 2: have a fast Australian coming through. It's very, very exciting.
- 41:48Speaker 2: But top job from Sener and great family, great Day's,
- 41:52Speaker 2: dad's brilliant. Couldn't be happy for them, no, I mean.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Like we're biased. We love our Ossie's senner Joel. Last
- 41:59Speaker 1: year we had like we're big fans and we love
- 42:01Speaker 1: promoting them. I think the thing with Center, I don't know.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I spoke to him after Thailand before Brazil, and to
- 42:10Speaker 1: me he just seems like not egotistically, but he's like
- 42:15Speaker 1: I've got this, like like the confidence is there. Yeah,
- 42:18Speaker 1: and so I think I know he he wants to
- 42:21Speaker 1: go to Moto GP. That's clear as day, and he
- 42:23Speaker 1: is our next Ossie, hopeful to make that step up.
- 42:27Speaker 1: But I think this is his chance to really prove
- 42:30Speaker 1: himself now and he's had a decent start considering the circumstances.
- 42:36Speaker 1: I spoke to him after his win, which you guys
- 42:38Speaker 1: can see on Fox sports dot Com to au for
- 42:41Speaker 1: Slush Motorsport on our YouTube channel at Fox Motorsport as well,
- 42:45Speaker 1: and you can see the emotion behind his eyes. And yeah,
- 42:47Speaker 1: he even admitted in Brazil like he wasn't there. Totally understandable,
- 42:52Speaker 1: totally understandable. But this weekend he's like I'm back, I'm
- 42:56Speaker 1: ready to go, And now that we head into Europe,
- 42:59Speaker 1: he's the same thing. It seems like all these flyaways
- 43:01Speaker 1: it's like a little bit hit and miss, who can
- 43:03Speaker 1: do what and where As soon as they get back
- 43:05Speaker 1: to Europe, it's like, no, these are the tracks that
- 43:07Speaker 1: we know, we've done a million laps off we go.
- 43:09Speaker 2: The thing with the flyways, it's almost getting through them.
- 43:12Speaker 2: You know, you turn up to Brazil and I think
- 43:17Speaker 2: for everyone it was let's get through Brazil. We knew
- 43:19Speaker 2: it was going to be one of those weekends where
- 43:21Speaker 2: there's going to be a couple of red flags, a
- 43:23Speaker 2: couple of sessions delayed. We knew that was going to
- 43:25Speaker 2: happen because that generally happens at every single new track
- 43:29Speaker 2: that we go to, not because of a problem, but
- 43:31Speaker 2: because there are operational things that need ironing out. We've
- 43:34Speaker 2: had it in Cota, we had it in Mandalika. I
- 43:37Speaker 2: think the only one we didn't have actually was ballot
- 43:39Speaker 2: on last year, and that's a normal thing. That's a
- 43:42Speaker 2: very very normal thing. Formula one have the same thing
- 43:46Speaker 2: then Coda. It can be difficult, it's bumpy, it can
- 43:51Speaker 2: be raining. The surface is baked so much throughout the
- 43:55Speaker 2: year because of the heat that any rain just sits
- 43:58Speaker 2: there and it can be really really difficult. That's what
- 44:00Speaker 2: happened last year with Motor two, Yes, Motor too and
- 44:04Speaker 2: Motor GP. And we we know that that. As I said,
- 44:09Speaker 2: the track is a bit bumpy. Now those bumps have
- 44:12Speaker 2: caught out a lot of riders, mainly Mark Marquez. He
- 44:15Speaker 2: crashed on Friday on a bump, so you know, Cocer
- 44:19Speaker 2: can be tricky. But Harrath starts. They taught of Europe
- 44:23Speaker 2: and Senna knows her f from his motor to European days.
- 44:26Speaker 2: He knows lamar He's been here now for two years,
- 44:29Speaker 2: so he knows all the tracks were come into. He'll
- 44:32Speaker 2: knows some better than others. He's got happy memories of
- 44:34Speaker 2: memories of Aragon. So he won the title back in
- 44:37Speaker 2: twenty twenty three. So yeah, no doubt that if Sene
- 44:43Speaker 2: can be consistent and be fast, he will grind out
- 44:46Speaker 2: a results. Because he's not really a crasher either, Senate.
- 44:49Speaker 2: He doesn't really throw it at the fence too much,
- 44:51Speaker 2: so you know, whereas other riders, you know, maybe not crushers,
- 44:55Speaker 2: but are a little bit more up and down. If
- 44:57Speaker 2: Senec can iron out that that fact so of inconsistency,
- 45:01Speaker 2: I think he'll be I think something could be right
- 45:04Speaker 2: in here. I hope.
- 45:05Speaker 1: So I thought we want the Aussies up front. Let's
- 45:07Speaker 1: just touch on that that crash though that happened in
- 45:10Speaker 1: Moto true, what was the outcome with that because we
- 45:14Speaker 1: were watching it and it's like did he get break fade? Like,
- 45:17Speaker 1: what on earth happened? Did he get sucked in?
- 45:20Speaker 2: I think what's happened is he's gone to make up.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I think he was past it. Well talking about Alberto Ferrandez,
- 45:25Speaker 2: not the original turn one incident with Joe Roberts and
- 45:29Speaker 2: Danny Holgado. So the big one turned ten, sorry it
- 45:33Speaker 2: turn eleven? What I am I think has happened? I
- 45:36Speaker 2: think it was Sergio Garcia was ahead of him and
- 45:38Speaker 2: Ferrandez has just lost it on the breaks, but he's
- 45:40Speaker 2: trying to make the pass. That combined is he's had
- 45:43Speaker 2: to go offline and then it's into all the bumps
- 45:46Speaker 2: from the Formula one guys when they're ripped, like where
- 45:48Speaker 2: all the tracks rippling up, and he just comes in
- 45:52Speaker 2: with such a closing speed. He's not intended to do that.
- 45:54Speaker 2: I wouldn't say it was reckless, say, but it's a
- 45:59Speaker 2: mistake that really you shouldn't be making. He is a rookie.
- 46:02Speaker 2: We have to give him some leniency, I suppose, but
- 46:06Speaker 2: a terrible accident and I think we all held our breath.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Then what happened after his anghelper Chaos has been nailed
- 46:14Speaker 2: by the bike and he's been Thankfully he's okay. We've
- 46:18Speaker 2: seen the post on Instagram that he's in the hospital.
- 46:20Speaker 2: He's got a broken femur, but far from ideal. We
- 46:25Speaker 2: all held our breath. Thankfully everyone was okay, and actually,
- 46:28Speaker 2: besides pecare Us and Randez, everyone made the restart. The
- 46:34Speaker 2: seven riders involved in it made the five that didn't
- 46:38Speaker 2: get hurt too much, Alberzo Farrande's helper Carous, the two
- 46:41Speaker 2: big casualties. Everyone else made the restart, so no I was.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I was happy to see everyone relatively okay. The thing is,
- 46:50Speaker 2: we haven't had a penalty outcome yet, because I think
- 46:54Speaker 2: it'll be a Thursday or Wednesday conversation at the track
- 46:57Speaker 2: in herress when everything's kind of a bit more quiet
- 47:02Speaker 2: and down, and I will be interested to see what
- 47:04Speaker 2: the penalty is. As far as I'm aware, Alberto Ferandez
- 47:08Speaker 2: hasn't done anything in the past, so judge on this
- 47:12Speaker 2: sliding scale that Simon crayfar the fi Emotor g B
- 47:15Speaker 2: Steward uses, it is technically a first offense. Whether it's
- 47:19Speaker 2: going to be punished as a first offense, I don't know.
- 47:23Speaker 2: I would imagine at least a long that penalty. I'm
- 47:28Speaker 2: looking more towards a double long that penalty, but I'm
- 47:31Speaker 2: not motor GP stewards, so that's not for me to speculate.
- 47:34Speaker 2: But we will get the penalty when we get say
- 47:36Speaker 2: I'm to here, there will be something for sure.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I mean definitely, like there has to be
- 47:42Speaker 1: because that was just insane. But like you say, you've
- 47:45Speaker 1: gotta kind of take it with a grain of stot
- 47:46Speaker 1: because it is a rookie. You know, there is that there.
- 47:49Speaker 1: But it was not good. Nonetheless, it was not good
- 47:52Speaker 1: and unfortunately, you know, the delays and whatnot. But the
- 47:56Speaker 1: outcome in the end for us, credible center on the podium,
- 47:59Speaker 1: incredible to see. Couldn't even do a shoey though, because
- 48:02Speaker 1: he's under the age of twenty one, sorry, going to
- 48:04Speaker 1: celebrate with any of the bubbles on the podium. And
- 48:08Speaker 1: then let's quickly move on to RODO three. Just to
- 48:10Speaker 1: talk about Joel Kelso, a tricky weekend for him. Okay,
- 48:14Speaker 1: another DNF. I want to know your thoughts away from
- 48:17Speaker 1: this weekend, away from the results there, how are you
- 48:20Speaker 1: seeing Joel go on the Honda the new manufacturing, new
- 48:23Speaker 1: team for this year.
- 48:25Speaker 2: I think it is as we expected. I mean, Michael Labberty,
- 48:30Speaker 2: great guy, I know him well. But the team in
- 48:35Speaker 2: their own words, know that Joel Kelso is a coup
- 48:38Speaker 2: for them in twenty twenty six. Joel has got off
- 48:43Speaker 2: the level of MTA machine that has already had pole positions,
- 48:47Speaker 2: been on multiple podiums over the years, had Grand pre
- 48:50Speaker 2: win so there's no doubt that Joel has stepped down
- 48:54Speaker 2: in terms of the ranking in the teams. But actually
- 48:58Speaker 2: he's ground out some decent results points in the opening
- 49:00Speaker 2: too Grand Prix the season and obviously just pushing a
- 49:03Speaker 2: bit too much in Cota, but that has actually helped
- 49:06Speaker 2: the team a little bit move up because Eddie has
- 49:08Speaker 2: been in the points the other side of the box.
- 49:10Speaker 2: Eddie's been in the points every Grand Prix, so I
- 49:14Speaker 2: think let's see when we get to Hares. That's where
- 49:16Speaker 2: Joel was really quick last year, was in that podium battle. Likewise,
- 49:19Speaker 2: la Mont's straight after that, so I think the next
- 49:22Speaker 2: couple of Grand Pries will be a bit friendlier for Joel.
- 49:25Speaker 2: But we also know the Honda is something I've spoken
- 49:28Speaker 2: about a lot in Motor three commns is that the
- 49:31Speaker 2: Honda just isn't quite there on out and out pace.
- 49:35Speaker 2: How many times last year did we see David Almanza
- 49:38Speaker 2: fast on Friday, fast on Saturday, but can't hook it
- 49:41Speaker 2: up on a Sunday. And it took until the last
- 49:43Speaker 2: three grand period a year for Honda to win a
- 49:45Speaker 2: Grand Prix and it was tired for us, a slightly
- 49:49Speaker 2: dodgy reduced Grand Prix, difficult situation over in Sapang. And
- 49:54Speaker 2: now John Fernandez winning in Valencia where all the riders
- 49:58Speaker 2: know it's the one place that probably the risers can
- 50:01Speaker 2: make a bit more of the difference. Having said that,
- 50:04Speaker 2: just to talk about Layerpard again in some good light,
- 50:07Speaker 2: Guido Phoenix, fantastic result for Guido who right plagues the
- 50:11Speaker 2: right time. Let the two casey young boys that Carfe
- 50:14Speaker 2: and Peroni, I think it was yeah, because Kiz is back.
- 50:18Speaker 2: It was carf in for only battle it out in
- 50:20Speaker 2: the last three or four corners and then like a
- 50:22Speaker 2: rat offer drain five gets it to the line and
- 50:25Speaker 2: takes victory and holds off Kiles. So Honda in one
- 50:28Speaker 2: breath obviously not the most competitive package because Peenie was
- 50:32Speaker 2: the only Honda doing anything there, but got a grand
- 50:35Speaker 2: ple we win, So a win's a win, doesn't matter
- 50:38Speaker 2: how you get there, so which is encouraging as well
- 50:41Speaker 2: for the other Honda teams. Just to bring it back
- 50:42Speaker 2: to Joel, there other hundred teams will see that and
- 50:45Speaker 2: be like, Okay, when the situation and the stars align
- 50:48Speaker 2: and the planet's aligned and the situation falls, we can
- 50:51Speaker 2: be there. Maybe it's not for the win all the time,
- 50:52Speaker 2: but a podium, a top five, the top five for
- 50:54Speaker 2: them Love's team would be an absolutely brilliant result. So
- 50:58Speaker 2: I'm confident when we get to her Rest, particularly Joel,
- 51:00Speaker 2: I think it'll be way more up towards the top ten.
- 51:05Speaker 1: On this pod. And something that we always promote on
- 51:08Speaker 1: Fox Sports is tune into Moto three because Ya, Moto
- 51:11Speaker 1: GP's great. We love the spectacle, we love the pack.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Moto three racing is on the edge of your seat
- 51:16Speaker 1: the whole time. That final lap was bananas. It was
- 51:20Speaker 1: just crazy, wasn't it in the final few corners edge
- 51:24Speaker 1: of your seat or behind the sofa.
- 51:26Speaker 2: I'm not sure because I was looking at it thinking,
- 51:29Speaker 2: surely these guys aren't all getting to the finish, but
- 51:31Speaker 2: they did. Moto three never fails to deliver this year,
- 51:34Speaker 2: you could you could argue it's actually been a bit tame.
- 51:38Speaker 2: We had the opening too Grand Prix, David Almans obviously
- 51:41Speaker 2: duffing up Kiles in Thailand joint closest finish of all
- 51:45Speaker 2: time in the class three thousands to a second, and
- 51:48Speaker 2: that went to the last corner. Guyana probably would have
- 51:51Speaker 2: had something similar, but we never know because al Manza
- 51:54Speaker 2: high sighted himself out the front door halfway through the
- 51:57Speaker 2: Grand Prix, and then on the restart because there was
- 51:59Speaker 2: an a red flag, we had Keiles go off and
- 52:02Speaker 2: clear off. So it has been a bit tame, but
- 52:06Speaker 2: it definitely made up for it in Koda. But Code
- 52:07Speaker 2: is a great track. It was I think it was
- 52:09Speaker 2: mart Marquez in the press conference on Thursday said you
- 52:11Speaker 2: need three or four different riding styles to get around
- 52:14Speaker 2: this track. It's so vast. It has so many different characteristics.
- 52:17Speaker 2: The opening sector is fast and flowing, and you've got
- 52:20Speaker 2: hard stopping, really tight twisty corners in that third sector
- 52:24Speaker 2: and then a really fast and flowing but not S's
- 52:27Speaker 2: style enter the lap. So you've got to ride it
- 52:30Speaker 2: in three or four different ways, and generally tracks like
- 52:33Speaker 2: that do give good racing and the last cornering Coda,
- 52:38Speaker 2: it's just slightly uphill so you can really run it
- 52:40Speaker 2: up the inside. And that's what we got as a
- 52:43Speaker 2: fantastic track. And in Moto three perfect Herreth. Don't forget
- 52:48Speaker 2: last corner in Herth always a bit tasty. Moto three
- 52:51Speaker 2: is not an exception.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I love that You're just like trying to get everyone
- 52:55Speaker 1: to tune into her Reth. You're like, yeah, this is great,
- 52:57Speaker 1: we love it. Not for me.
- 52:59Speaker 2: I don't do the ily, do the practicing, qualifying.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I just realized I didn't even think we had another
- 53:07Speaker 1: Houdi on the podium this weekend. Your debut as well
- 53:10Speaker 1: in the Harley Davidson Bagger World Cup. Archie McDonald on
- 53:15Speaker 1: it is just looking at these bikes right around a
- 53:18Speaker 1: race track is hilarious.
- 53:20Speaker 2: It's so cool.
- 53:21Speaker 1: It's so American, but it's just hilarious. But awesome result
- 53:24Speaker 1: from Archie. Over the weekend. He was on the podium
- 53:27Speaker 1: multiple times, but he won a race. Right. How did
- 53:30Speaker 1: you think the Baggers went for their first weekend out
- 53:33Speaker 1: at Koda?
- 53:34Speaker 2: Do you know what, there's a phrase you only need
- 53:36Speaker 2: two riders to have a good race. We know the
- 53:39Speaker 2: grid is nine and perhaps that's a bit lower than
- 53:42Speaker 2: what everyone wanted and what we anticipate for the future.
- 53:45Speaker 2: But the racing was brilliant. We had a bit of
- 53:47Speaker 2: drama in race one. Eric Bernardo qushed out the lead
- 53:50Speaker 2: mad Dog taking up the honors in race one, and
- 53:54Speaker 2: in the Race two mad Dog during on the wasp
- 53:57Speaker 2: was what I said, because he didn't realize he had
- 53:59Speaker 2: to do along that penalty and was quickly shifted out
- 54:03Speaker 2: of P two in part fer way to P three,
- 54:06Speaker 2: but he put a last corner pass on oscu Utiers.
- 54:09Speaker 2: As fans, and we are fans. We might be professionals,
- 54:11Speaker 2: but we are big fans from young ages. We love
- 54:15Speaker 2: to see a last corner shoot out and we got one.
- 54:17Speaker 2: So I think the Baggers over like overall good success,
- 54:22Speaker 2: good support. The teams are interesting, riders have got personality,
- 54:26Speaker 2: particularly Archie, so I think we're in for a really,
- 54:30Speaker 2: really good season. Gotta wait a little while till they're
- 54:32Speaker 2: back out there. I think it's migello. Can you imagine
- 54:35Speaker 2: seeing those things roll around the Tuscan Hills. It's going
- 54:37Speaker 2: to be brilliant.
- 54:38Speaker 1: The sound of them, just like roaring through the mountainside
- 54:41Speaker 1: that's gonna be.
- 54:42Speaker 2: It's gonna sound like someone with a chainsaw, you know, Magello,
- 54:45Speaker 2: they've got all the lunatics that stay overnight with chainsaws
- 54:48Speaker 2: going all night. That's what they're going to sound like.
- 54:50Speaker 2: But it's going to be on the track. It's going
- 54:51Speaker 2: to be brilliant.
- 54:53Speaker 1: We can't wait. Honestly, if you guys haven't gone and
- 54:55Speaker 1: checked out the bag as well cut you can watch
- 54:57Speaker 1: the highlights there on.
- 54:58Speaker 2: KO and if I it can, just to boost you
- 55:01Speaker 2: guys a little bit. I think mad Dog is leading
- 55:04Speaker 2: the championship forty one points, so you have got an
- 55:06Speaker 2: Australian championship leader at the moment. Senna's sixth I think
- 55:10Speaker 2: at the minute, ahead of David Alonso, who's your pre
- 55:14Speaker 2: pre season favorite in Moto too, So Senna's ahead of
- 55:17Speaker 2: him at the moment. But there's a good time to
- 55:19Speaker 2: be in as at the minute, isn't it.
- 55:21Speaker 1: I know we've got Ozzie's in all the classes, which
- 55:23Speaker 1: is fantastic and that's something that I was talking to
- 55:25Speaker 1: MC doing a few weeks ago about is just how
- 55:27Speaker 1: important it is for us to have to continue to
- 55:29Speaker 1: have the Aussie's coming through and a new Championship, like
- 55:32Speaker 1: the bag is. To have Archie there, who's we know
- 55:35Speaker 1: he's done ASBK. We know he's done the European Championships
- 55:37Speaker 1: as well. To see him take the lead take the
- 55:40Speaker 1: flag for us in this one is phenomenal.
- 55:43Speaker 2: And also over in the world super white paddock, you know,
- 55:47Speaker 2: and you could do with Remy Gardener finding something with
- 55:49Speaker 2: Yamaha in general finding something. But Oli Bayless on the podium,
- 55:52Speaker 2: already on the triumph in super sport, so you know
- 55:55Speaker 2: there's a little bit of yeah, there's something to look
- 55:58Speaker 2: out for in every class and that's really good because
- 56:00Speaker 2: as a brit we don't have a lot at the moment,
- 56:02Speaker 2: not in Grand Prix. Scott Ogden obviously regularly up inside
- 56:07Speaker 2: the top ten, but then it does dry out a
- 56:09Speaker 2: little bit. And obviously over in superbikes, Sam Loo's Alex
- 56:12Speaker 2: Low's doing the business. But Jake Dixon, well we haven't
- 56:17Speaker 2: seen Jake Dixon yet, have we, because he's out with
- 56:19Speaker 2: a done, he's done his wrist. But when he is back,
- 56:22Speaker 2: I'm sure Jake's and to be there. But Emojip motor too.
- 56:26Speaker 2: We are lacking the British flag a little bit.
- 56:28Speaker 1: So so you're welcome to represent the Aussie one.
- 56:31Speaker 2: Then well, to be fair, we have got a British
- 56:33Speaker 2: flag on your flag, so I suppose we're not lacking
- 56:36Speaker 2: too much. But there on this podcast exactly quickly pedaling
- 56:42Speaker 2: back on that, got to say, enjoy the success. Well
- 56:47Speaker 2: you can.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Oh, we'll take it. We'll take it, and I know
- 56:50Speaker 1: you are right Keeker. That's enough. We've chatted everything from Corodar,
- 56:56Speaker 1: So thank you so much for joining.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Me on more to welcome any time.
- 57:00Speaker 1: We'll have you back for sure one day again. But
- 57:03Speaker 1: big thank you to Shannon's Insurance for sponsoring this episode
