Genesis 46
Genesis 46 read aloud, in a fresh direct translation from the Hebrew — plain modern English, nothing added.
Translator's notes:
• Genesis 46:28 — לְהוֹרֹת לְפָנָיו (lehorot lefanav): chose "to direct the way before him". Alternatives: "to point out the way ahead of him to Goshen"; "to give instructions before his arrival at Goshen". Why: the verb's object here is compressed, and the way-direction sense fits a man sent on ahead of the party.
