- 0:06Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:09You are listening to be K-Rock and I am your host Health Uzi.
- 0:15I hope you're all having a good morning out there.
- 0:19I've got my coffee and I figured we could sit back this morning
- 0:23and just have a light conversation about Christianity
- 0:27in the church. Since I was a young boy, I
- 0:31became fascinated with the concept of God.
- 0:34I became fascinated with What it was that Christianity was trying
- 0:39to suggest to the world, what it was causing us to ponder and
- 0:44consider. So I unlike many people out
- 0:49there, decided to go in the direction that a lot of people
- 0:54for some reason to choose not to do.
- 0:58I was told that the Bible was the word of God.
- 1:01I was told that it was directly from God that God had put this
- 1:05wisdom and information and knowledge into men throughout
- 1:09history. Who would eventually sit down?
- 1:12And write the very words that came from God to communicate
- 1:16man, right off the bat. Whenever you read the Bible, you
- 1:20read an origin story about how man came into existence, how he
- 1:25became sentient. The bad decisions, Made as well
- 1:28as the good decisions in order to survive but also inevitably
- 1:33bringing death into the world. Compromising his very soul and
- 1:38bringing corruption to all of existence throughout the story
- 1:44of Adam and Eve. There's one thing I noticed,
- 1:47right off the bat, Nothing about a church was ever even
- 1:51mentioned. Nothing about going with church
- 1:56on Sunday, very early in the morning or at night nothing
- 2:00about a bunch of people getting together and listening to a
- 2:03person talk while Afterwards. Maybe they have a picnic where
- 2:10they have a feast or something like that.
- 2:12Now, don't get me wrong, folks. Certain people.
- 2:15I like to hang out with and there is definitely no
- 2:19disappointment or complaints. That come from me, whenever it
- 2:22comes to eating, I do love to eat.
- 2:26Yes. My wife is one of the best cooks
- 2:28I've ever dealt with in my life and I just can't get enough of
- 2:32whatever she's doing. But the point is that whenever
- 2:36you reading the Book of Genesis Adam and Eve.
- 2:39Don't one single time, attend church, not one single time.
- 2:45Are they told that they are bad that they should be guilty until
- 2:52they actually did something that was against God.
- 2:56I believe that when people make mistakes or they intentionally
- 3:01do something or willfully, do something wrong.
- 3:04Then, that is the time in, which you go to church, or go seek God
- 3:10and ask him for forgiveness and all this.
- 3:13Not just because to do it. In fact, if you have ran out of
- 3:19sins to ask for forgiveness for and you really want to talk to
- 3:23God, I'm sure that God would probably appreciate. it it if
- 3:27you think him for all the blessings and the good things in
- 3:30your life, I think that some people whenever they go to
- 3:34church, they give this weird idea that they're going to get
- 3:38brownie points with God by going to a church listening to
- 3:41somebody else. But why would you do that for?
- 3:46We talked a little bit about the Book of Genesis.
- 3:48We talked about the origin story but let's move on to some of the
- 3:52other characters. We've got many people from
- 3:56Abraham, to Moses, to Noah, to all these different figures.
- 4:01Noah was someone you The never found in church.
- 4:04He was someone that was not going to Something.
- 4:07In fact it said that the world was so screwed up that everybody
- 4:11was kind of doing what we call a Royal Rumble.
- 4:14Just trying to live off the land, do what they do and there
- 4:17was a lot of bad things going on but there wasn't one day where
- 4:22Noah actually went to any kind of some kind of body or church
- 4:28to do that too, because why the entire world was evil So he
- 4:32didn't have anybody but his family members to be able to
- 4:36hang out with. Then there was Abraham, he was a
- 4:39nomad, his entire family walk, the deserts, they moved
- 4:45everywhere. They didn't ever like to sit
- 4:48down and say, hey, let's build a church and churches, would have
- 4:52looked kind of weird before the time of Christ.
- 4:54Anyway, if you think about it, most of us, when we're driving
- 4:58down the road, whether we're the passenger were, the were the
- 5:02Just driving when we see a church.
- 5:04We normally associated with Jesus because we see a cross
- 5:08above it. Well, thousands of years before
- 5:12Jesus came along, there was no crosses are in churches and all
- 5:16that. The first time humanity would
- 5:18historically. Look upon crosses is when
- 5:21pagans, as well as the Romans started using them in order to
- 5:25kill convicts, and people that they considered undesirables.
- 5:31So you wouldn't have seen across at that point in time because
- 5:36the only thing is symbolized was death and destruction, it wasn't
- 5:41until Jesus came along and died on one of these crosses where it
- 5:45became a statement of eternal life for redemption or
- 5:50forgiveness. before that it was just considered nothing more
- 5:59than a torture device to slowly cause someone pain and kill
- 6:05them. Now when we look throughout the
- 6:09Old Testament, it started getting to a point as little
- 6:13Villages and tribes and Huts were put together and
- 6:18civilization became more. How shall I say?
- 6:21Civilized is when people started creating temples and they
- 6:26started creating statues and they started creating all these
- 6:29materialistic things claiming this is how you go about,
- 6:34worshiping God. But anybody that's ever actually
- 6:38read the Bible, which a lot of Christians, unfortunately don't
- 6:42would realize that a lot of these people who were building
- 6:45temples were damn near corrupt. A lot of these people were
- 6:50manipulative. They used the community and they
- 6:54use the citizens telling people that they must do this, and they
- 6:59must do that, and they must attend their functions and give
- 7:03money and do all this kind of stuff in order to do this.
- 7:07There wasn't one single time where God told any of these
- 7:10people, that, at eight in the morning, you need to go and be a
- 7:14part of this function or any of this.
- 7:17In fact, God made it clear from the very start of the entire
- 7:21story. If we were to return the Genesis
- 7:23for a moment that he wanted to create us because you wanted us
- 7:27to be happy, he wanted us to have meaning and purpose in our
- 7:31life and the only thing he commanded us to do at this point
- 7:35was to Bear fruit and multiply he wanted us to have an
- 7:39abundance of life. He did not say that we needed to
- 7:44become a part of rituals that we needed to jump through Loops,
- 7:48that we had to do certain things in order to gain or accomplish
- 7:52his love. So as a young person reading
- 7:58these different things and I felt like I was doing a pretty
- 8:02good job of absorbing the knowledge and the information
- 8:06directly from the word of God himself.
- 8:10I found myself kind of getting into issues whenever my mother
- 8:16most of the time forced me to go to these churches.
- 8:20My mother felt like there was a lot of things that she did in
- 8:23her life that were wrong. She was convinced that if she
- 8:27did certain things that she would be able to change the
- 8:30hearts and minds of other people.
- 8:33And she also realized that he had a lot of problems internally
- 8:37with herself, and she believed that the church could help her
- 8:42And there were times where I would hear her pray and cry and
- 8:46do the things that she did. But the problem with my mother
- 8:50was, and it's a problem that a lot of people have out, there is
- 8:55a lot of people. They say, they want Redemption
- 8:58and they want forgiveness, and they want to change their lives.
- 9:02But usually, they end up becoming Their Own Worst Enemy.
- 9:06They tell God if you just let me have this and you give me this
- 9:10then I will change my ways. I will do better.
- 9:13I will do this and I will do that.
- 9:16Unfortunately, even though my mother wasn't a terrible person
- 9:20or a evil person, she continued to do what she was going to do.
- 9:26But she wasn't the only one my entire family.
- 9:30Anybody I'd ever met throughout growing up, they would say, God,
- 9:34if you do this, they I could deal with God and then they
- 9:38would break it. They would say that they were
- 9:41about love and family but behind closed doors.
- 9:45Other things were said that should have never been said,
- 9:48especially in the presence of children.
- 9:53So, a lot of people out there, they wonder why it is that they
- 9:56suffer. They wonder why it is that they
- 9:58hurt. They wonder why it is.
- 10:01That it seems as though God doesn't keep his promises
- 10:05perhaps. God does keep his promises but
- 10:09if you don't keep your end of the deal, then you're not going
- 10:11to be on the same road that leads to the promised land.
- 10:15Does that make sense? There were some Churches.
- 10:22I went to whenever I was a kid that I like, but most of them,
- 10:27they were boring. And the reason why they were
- 10:30boring to me was not because I was ignorant or stupid or
- 10:35because I don't have the ability to sit down and listen to what
- 10:38someone has to say. The problem was, is that a lot
- 10:42of these churches got into a pattern for me whenever I was a
- 10:45kid where they settled A lot of the same things and most of the
- 10:49time, they said things that didn't even go along with the
- 10:52Bible and you can tell they didn't put too much thought into
- 10:56it. I remember going to this one
- 10:59Church where the preacher was. So, I don't know if it was
- 11:04because of AIDS or because he didn't put a lot of effort into
- 11:09his study or what he was wanting to preach about.
- 11:12But he was always mixed Moses and no up.
- 11:15Moses is a guy who carried the Ten Commandments and Noah was
- 11:20the guy that was in the flood who was assisted by God to
- 11:24create the arc. This preacher would constantly
- 11:28mix the names up. He would constantly mix-up who
- 11:33was where in the timeline of the Bible and it was embarrassing,
- 11:38but a lot of people, let that go.
- 11:41A lot of people were just like, well we know what he's talking
- 11:43about, we know where he's getting at and when you paid
- 11:48attention a little bit to his life, the man had a lot of How
- 11:53shall I say things going on in his existence?
- 11:56That he seemed more concerned about that.
- 11:58And what he was actually talking about, whenever it came to the
- 12:01Bible for him, he was one of these type of people were on
- 12:05Sunday. He was your preacher, but for
- 12:07the rest of the week, he was a complete scandalous.
- 12:10It'll so You get a lot of people like that were on that one day
- 12:17of the week. Whenever it's supposed to be
- 12:19God's day people, give a little bit of effort and then at the
- 12:24pool, the futility of the entire week, they go back into their,
- 12:31their transformation back into Being who they really are
- 12:37basically not wearing the mask anymore.
- 12:43To me Church caused a lot of Devastation because you want to
- 12:50listen to people that know something, and you'd like to
- 12:53learn something new. Imagine for a moment that you're
- 12:57a kid and you're going to the same classroom and the same
- 13:02school listening to the same things being said to you every
- 13:07single time you go to school. Well, you would think that, at
- 13:10some point someone would go. Wow, this person that I'm listen
- 13:16to you. This supposed teacher is telling
- 13:19me the same thing over and over and over again.
- 13:24And you just feel like you're hearing a repetitive redundant
- 13:27record as opposed to learning something new in the Bible they
- 13:32call it. The babes in Christ are
- 13:36basically feeding on the milk, the teeth.
- 13:40And the ones who were actually Walking with God, they seek meat
- 13:46and I wasn't feeling spiritually fed whenever I was doing the
- 13:50whole church gig. So I started basically getting
- 13:55away from the church. Now, some people might say well
- 14:00because you got away from the church isn't that one of the
- 14:03reasons why you became a non-believer?
- 14:05A skeptic back then no, it wasn't because of not hearing
- 14:10what a preacher had to say. It was because of constantly
- 14:14seeing what the world was doing and some of the harsh nightmares
- 14:20of reality. Seeing a lot of Death.
- 14:23I think that every person in the world when you see people that
- 14:27you love pass away or die or suffer and all that, you're
- 14:31going to ask questions, but the beauty is even though some
- 14:36people out there would like to blame every reason in the world,
- 14:39why someone would lose your faith sometimes The truth is
- 14:44that God is going to just sit back and allow you to learn.
- 14:49Sometimes the best way for a child to learn is to Simply let
- 14:53them do what they're going to do.
- 14:57That's what God did for me and I learned quite a bit and I got
- 15:02the understanding a lot more about what happened and why
- 15:07things happen, I started understanding the meaning.
- 15:11And the point of my existence, I also started realizing that I'm
- 15:16not as great as what I thought I was.
- 15:18And I also realize I'm not as bad, terrible, some would like
- 15:21me to believe. I'm just me, just living my
- 15:25life. Just doing what I'm going to do.
- 15:28Now we talked a little bit about the Old Testament whenever it
- 15:31comes to churches. It's true temples were built.
- 15:35It's true that little organizations and The Nomad
- 15:38desert started to come together and people started writing
- 15:42Scrolls and writing on animal skins and all that.
- 15:46And by the time it got to the New Testament, even Jesus
- 15:51Christ. Whenever he was born, he had the
- 15:54scribes and people who would sit there and and listen to him
- 15:59because he would come in as a young boy and have such great
- 16:03and awesome knowledge that would surprise them.
- 16:07But even though we know that about Jesus, we also know that
- 16:11Jesus Christ had to as a child, his human parents had to
- 16:16actually take him all over the place.
- 16:19He couldn't ever really live somewhere for a long time
- 16:23because I King and men were trying to kill him over a
- 16:27prophecy. So, Jesus Christ never had a
- 16:31whole lot of places. He could go or buildings, he
- 16:35could go to worship God. In fact, when you read the
- 16:39Bible, there's only one single place.
- 16:43I only one environment I can think of where Jesus truly got
- 16:48bothered or aggravated about what humans are doing and that
- 16:52was the temple. Remember the story of him going
- 16:56in and actually fashioning a whip?
- 16:58He was hitting people and he was yelling and he was screaming
- 17:01because the temple, the house of God had nothing to do with God
- 17:07anymore. It was about selling material
- 17:09things, which is not a lot different than what is
- 17:12happening. Nowadays where you have
- 17:15religious people who are selling and funding themselves and doing
- 17:19all these things. I have no problem with
- 17:22Christians making money. I have no problems with
- 17:25Christians, having wealth, and success, and all that, there
- 17:28were plenty of men in the Bible that had success and wealth.
- 17:32The On that one needs to ask himself.
- 17:35Is it all about the money? This is all about the wealth and
- 17:40there's it really about God. This is the pit that you find
- 17:43yourself in with dealing, with people like this, even though I
- 17:49got away from church and I got away from the redundancy and
- 17:54Groundhog's Day of all of that, there were still preachers.
- 17:58I listen to there were preachers, that I felt had
- 18:02something new that they could teach me that.
- 18:04I didn't already know. I think that anybody in their
- 18:08right mind, you know that the very definition of been saying
- 18:11is to do the same thing over and over again.
- 18:14So it would in fact be insane to Listen to the same stories and
- 18:19the same redundant stuff people. I can't hold them too, as well
- 18:24as other preachers out there. I listen to we're starting to
- 18:28get into conversations about what was happening in the
- 18:32universe. How did life actually get here?
- 18:37The fought and used science, and their wisdom, and their
- 18:41knowledge to actually go after the common beliefs or scientific
- 18:48at the indications of the day. These were the type of people I
- 18:52like listening to. I also like listening to
- 18:56philosophers. The more, I listened the
- 18:59philosophy, the more I was able to understand myself and life
- 19:03around me. And none of the little redneck
- 19:07country church is I ever went to Growing Up or even in the city
- 19:12of st. Louis, the murder capital of the
- 19:14world where all those people need Redemption.
- 19:17No one ever. Actually had a discussion about
- 19:23the universe, no one ever really discussed in depth.
- 19:27Why did God create us? Where did God come from?
- 19:32Why. And how does God have the
- 19:34ability? That is that he has People gave
- 19:39vague things where God loves you, because he loves you, kind
- 19:42of answers, circular logic. But I listen to all these
- 19:49philosophers, I even listen to some of the people on the other
- 19:53side you were scientists and philosophers and believe it or
- 19:58not, there were sometimes. I know this is going to come off
- 20:01weird. We're when you listen to some
- 20:04people who are claimed to be the most skeptical, are the most non
- 20:09believers of all every once in a while.
- 20:12They say something about the universe or something that is
- 20:15going on in Ands or in the very concept of science that speaks
- 20:23to you and it correlates with your views and your thoughts and
- 20:28how it combines, what your concept of God, that's right.
- 20:33An atheist as well as one of these offshoot religious folks,
- 20:39who are talking about flossing the universe.
- 20:42Sometimes can say things, That just turn the light on for you.
- 20:49I've had a lot of people accuse me of being one of those types
- 20:52to. I've had religious people as
- 20:55well as non believers claim that some of the things I talk about
- 21:00are. So relatable, so identifiable
- 21:04and on top of it, I switch the light on for people who've been
- 21:08in the dark for a long time. I think that the mistake that
- 21:16some preachers make is they talked as though they already
- 21:21think they know all the answers. Is where I've always admitted
- 21:26that. Being someone he's constantly
- 21:28seeking. I'm someone who's looking for
- 21:31new information. I'm going to be 50 years old in
- 21:35a few years. And I do not want to spend the
- 21:41rest of my time on Earth sitting in some kind of musty ass
- 21:47Church. Listening to the same things.
- 21:50Being said to me I get a good Phil whenever I sit down and I
- 21:56get to choose what I'm going to listen to and that's what I do
- 22:00with social media. Sometimes I'll read stories or
- 22:05articles that someone put out there.
- 22:08Sometimes I will go watch a Kent hovind video or one of the many
- 22:12philosophers that I enjoy listening to and I'll get what I
- 22:17need for the day. And then I move on and I go do
- 22:21the rest of my thing. There's another thing I find
- 22:29myself too, everybody's got their own limitations on their
- 22:34transitions or how much they want from the church, I suppose.
- 22:39Well growing up. I eventually obviously became an
- 22:44adult and I decided to get hooked up with a woman and have
- 22:48children, what they're my family.
- 22:51A lot of my family members are like myself in some ways, where
- 22:55they do not enjoy sitting down. Arn, hard wooden chairs,
- 22:59listening to someone talk talk, talk talk, talk.
- 23:03I've got kids who work many, many hours.
- 23:08And whenever they're not working, they have very little
- 23:11time to be able to do things that they want to do in life.
- 23:16And I know some preachers would try to make a person feel guilty
- 23:19for that. Oh you got all this time in the
- 23:22world to work and do all this but you've got no time to sit
- 23:26down and listen to God. See that's the game that a lot
- 23:29of these preachers Play. No preacher.
- 23:33We don't have time for you. We got all day for God.
- 23:37We just don't Listen to you. We do not want to set in your
- 23:41church and listen to what you how you interpret things.
- 23:45We don't want to be a part of the blind, leading the blind.
- 23:50My kids say like science they like philosophy, they like all
- 23:54kinds of different things and they learn a lot of stuff from
- 23:58me. They learn things from their
- 23:59mother. But I think what's important is
- 24:02whenever a child is going to learn something.
- 24:05I think they need to learn by action because that's where the
- 24:08real admiration and respect come in.
- 24:11That's where the true love comes.
- 24:13And when you actually see that your parents are doing this in
- 24:16the snap, I'm not saying that I'm a perfect.
- 24:20Here. I'm not saying that I have done
- 24:22everything great, but one thing that my kids can never deny is
- 24:27that I love them. And I would die for them.
- 24:31If I had to, I have lived through them, I would die for
- 24:35them. I would suffer for them.
- 24:39And they all know that including my wife.
- 24:45And is that not the love that God is trying to teach?
- 24:48Is that not the message that he sent his only begotten?
- 24:52Son? He so loved the world.
- 24:54He loved us so much that he wanted to be there and he wanted
- 25:01to show us by action what he was about and he was willing to die
- 25:05for us. He was willing to suffer for us
- 25:09that is the message of love to me.
- 25:11That tells me everything I need to know.
- 25:14After hearing that, and knowing that about God, and knowing what
- 25:18God is capable of than what he's willing to do for me, why do I
- 25:22need to hear some mediator or somebody else?
- 25:28Unless I so choose or I feel like they have something to add
- 25:31to the equation. Now, I'm not saying the church
- 25:36ain't good for some people out there, some of you out there,
- 25:40you may feel like it strengthens you.
- 25:43Maybe you're one of these lucky people where you have found
- 25:48other people who are agreeable and won't argue and fight with
- 25:52you over having different views or a different walk with God.
- 25:58But it's just not for me. I'm not saying that church is
- 26:05always horrible, whenever I was younger, there were a couple
- 26:08churches, I went to where they had some great music and the
- 26:13cooks, they made good food and had some great dinners and all
- 26:17that kind of stuff. I've been in churches where they
- 26:22do a big old dramatic thing where you get to see stages and
- 26:26acting and all that. And I've also been in the little
- 26:29tiny water down churches where you got literally less than a
- 26:32handful of people sitting there while someone attempts to tune
- 26:36their guitar and sang as though they've got throat cancer.
- 26:42Yes, I've done it all. I've been there.
- 26:45I've done that. And now I know that there's
- 26:49certain things that I want in my life, certain things, I'm
- 26:52willing to sit through, that's where I'm at.
- 26:56I hope you guys enjoyed the video and I hope that the most
- 27:00important moral of the story that you get from all.
- 27:03This is, why do you need to go to a church?
- 27:07Why do you need to do anything? Whenever you can go directly to
- 27:12God himself? You can, you don't have to get
- 27:17on your knees. You don't have to put your hands
- 27:21together. You don't have to do some kind
- 27:23of weird, somersaults or flips because guess what ladies and
- 27:27gentlemen God is there. He does not require you to do
- 27:33any stupid stuff. There's not one time where God
- 27:38says Adam Eve and order to be able to speak with me.
- 27:41You need to do a headstand. Are you need to run 20 miles
- 27:46before I'll communicate with you.
- 27:48You do not need to jump in and out of mobile or a carriage or
- 27:52right, a horse and go somewhere in order to talk to me.
- 27:56I am there and I will walk with you in the present and the light
- 28:01right here, right now. You understand what I'm saying?
- 28:05Folks does any of this make sense?
- 28:08That's where I'm at. I just want to walk with God.
- 28:12I don't need all the other folks that none of the other disciples
- 28:17of God ever actually went to church.
- 28:20I think Luke was as close as it's going to get and some of
- 28:23them were part of the Temple. But if I were to in this video
- 28:28with a finale, I would say this and I want you all to ask
- 28:32yourself a question in the end when Jesus Christ was taken
- 28:38captive and he was beaten up and he was killed.
- 28:42Why did that happen happen? Because the church in the
- 28:46religion of that time, executed him they lied and they convinced
- 28:52the pagans of those days, the Jewish religion.
- 28:56With the Pagan religion decided that they wanted to kill the Son
- 29:00of God, they tortured him, they humiliated him, they made a
- 29:05spectacle, they sold material things in his Temple, and then
- 29:10they hung him out to dry. And sometimes I feel like that's
- 29:17exactly what the churches and religion does today.
- 29:22So try to be very careful. With what I associate myself
- 29:27with. I'm not saying that it's always
- 29:31that traumatic. Sometimes the answer is some
- 29:35people are just boring and don't have charisma.
- 29:40I just don't want to listen to him.
- 29:42I think everybody can relate to that right.
- 29:45All right. Ladies and gentlemen so God
- 29:47bless
