- 0:00Happy Saturday morning, everybody from Berlin, Germany,
- 0:05right here at Checkpoint Charlie.
- 0:08So you are better at history than me because I only went one
- 0:13through 12. We are at one of the most famous
- 0:16places in all the world as far as wars went.
- 0:21So when when we liberated Germany, the Russians and
- 0:27America, you know, drove out the bad guys.
- 0:32Well, then you remember Reagan, President Reagan of America, he
- 0:37said Gorbachev, tear down that wall.
- 0:40So, you know, when the war ended, they put a wall up that
- 0:46separated Germany and the kids wanted to play, but Russia said
- 0:52no. So if you escape, try to get to
- 0:55one part of Germany, they shoot you pretty ugly part.
- 0:59So anyway, up here is still there is still it's Checkpoint
- 1:05Charlie sounds sounds like something the Americans would
- 1:08say. And so anyway, I'm going to take
- 1:12you with me. I might not do a lot of talking
- 1:14because I want to show respect. They love Christmas here, by the
- 1:17way, they're still doing Christmas, but so I'm going to
- 1:24turn the camera around. I gave you the history lesson.
- 1:26Checkpoint Charlie is a very big deal.
- 1:28The American flag is still flying right here in Berlin.
- 1:31Because they're very thankful. They're very thankful.
- 1:36That building is extremely old. I've already said it one of my
- 1:41videos but very disappointed in all the graffiti they write on
- 1:45everything. Can I look along here,
- 1:53everybody? Here's here's where the here's
- 1:57where the wall was, right? OK, so we're right here right
- 2:01now. OK, Checkpoint Charlie, this is
- 2:09like in the 80s, nineteen, 1980, so.
- 2:26Just watch. Just watch.
- 2:28I'll point out some interesting things.
- 2:40OK, look here. Due to the increasing
- 2:44animosities between the victorious powers, they were
- 2:47unable to negotiate a peace treaty with Germany.
- 2:49France was included by the two Western powers as the 4th allied
- 2:54power in German occupation and participated in ensuing post war
- 2:59conferences. So they had to have a meeting,
- 3:03OK, because nobody was in charge of Germany.
- 3:05Nobody. Nobody was in charge.
- 3:07So you got a city, Nobody's in charge.
- 3:09So they had to calm everything down.
- 3:11That's what this whole wall is about.
- 3:15It's like having a race team with no crew chief or no owners,
- 3:18Like, oh, we got all this stuff. What are we going to do with it?
- 3:31Look at that. That's going down here to
- 3:33Checkpoint Charlie. This is wild.
- 3:39Watch this. Here we go.
- 3:44I'm going to take you right there in
- 4:05a minute. Hold on.
- 4:07You got to be patient. I'm not.
- 4:33I'm not. I'm just watching
- 4:50right there. Look at that.
- 4:54OK, there's the American flag and half staff because of Jimmy
- 4:57Carter, I guess. Or just maybe it always flies
- 4:59and has Dad. This is where it went down right
- 5:03here. The legendary Checkpoint Charlie
- 5:08course? There's a McDonald's right
- 5:09there. OK, so I think American soldier
- 5:55on one side and another type of soldier on the other side,
- 6:00respond right here. Remember, you're smarter than
- 6:02me. You know everything.
- 6:19Where's John? I've lost John.
- 6:27They're super green over here. There's no bottled waters.
- 6:30You go into hotels, Everything's glass.
- 6:32Just get your water. If you see somebody with a
- 6:38bottled water, tell me. So we are calm down.
- 6:46We are going to the murdered Jews site.
- 6:49We're going to see that. Umm, we're going to go to where
- 6:53Reagan said tear down that wall. I know you've been here.
- 6:58I get it. And we're we are going to go
- 7:00everywhere. But this is the start of my day.
- 7:15There you go read this. You are entering the American
- 7:18sector, carrying weapons off duty, forbidden, obey traffic
- 7:22rules, super old sign. They got Kentucky Fried chickens
- 7:28everywhere and Burger King is huge over here.
- 7:34Don't think since since Burger Kings are not that big in
- 7:38America, they're huge over here. So don't think for a minute
- 7:41Burger King's failing. They're big over here.
- 7:44Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonald's.
- 7:52It's kind of funny you say. Well, Burger King's failing,
- 7:55Kentucky Fried Chicken's failing.
- 7:56I learned they're not OK. I hope you enjoyed everything.
- 8:06I got to 8 minutes. Got to do that for YouTube.
- 8:09If you get to 8 minutes, they insert 2 commercials and I make
- 8:12more money. Hey, hey, at least I'm honest.
- 8:17At least I'm honest. Look how the hell them kids get
- 8:22up there and and do all that graffiti.
- 8:25Look at that. Have a great Saturday,
- 8:28everybody.
