- 0:03Speaker 1: Enough is enough.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I don't have any show serious, sup, and we hold
- 0:08Speaker 2: the world ransom for.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whipped this out broadcasting live and Atlanta,
- 0:17Speaker 1: Georgia to this. This is the Sports Shot Show with
- 0:21Speaker 1: Wing Gandy. You may began.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Show come so far, Come and it comes to moth
- 0:33Speaker 3: Is it.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Just I'm a doing Yeah, I'm gonna go on the
- 0:40Speaker 4: way you made Bill began.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. You're listening to the Sports Shock Show.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I am the Sports Shock Wing Candy, Good morning to
- 0:52Speaker 1: you out there and listening a land glad to be
- 0:56Speaker 1: here with you. You know, we're in that slow period,
- 1:00Speaker 1: but we are two weeks away from training camp, so
- 1:04Speaker 1: start resting up. It's about to go down. As they say,
- 1:11Speaker 1: it's about to happen. NFL College back long night, five
- 1:19Speaker 1: six games a week. Stress on all levels, especially when
- 1:26Speaker 1: you are Cowboy, Jet and Falcon fans. Your blood pressure
- 1:32Speaker 1: stays up for long, long, long, long, very unhealthy. Might
- 1:38Speaker 1: want to schedule your annual physical in the spring to
- 1:42Speaker 1: stop going in November grade. I don't know why you
- 1:46Speaker 1: keep going and getting tested. You know, is one thirty
- 1:50Speaker 1: seven over ninety nine after the Cowboy game? You know,
- 1:55Speaker 1: it stays up there. Go on a nice spring day
- 1:59Speaker 1: late March. Nothing's really going on, but the XFL or
- 2:04Speaker 1: whatever they call it now and you had it and
- 2:06Speaker 1: you don't even know the season started, so you can
- 2:10Speaker 1: get that one twenty over eighty. But Big Kenny just
- 2:14Speaker 1: be going in. They all messed up, walk out of
- 2:16Speaker 1: there with nine prescriptions on everything during football season legal
- 2:23Speaker 1: annual league I'm talking about, just need everything to calm down.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And the bad producer, he's stay on that morphine, delusional
- 2:34Speaker 1: about what's going on down at Mercedes Bens. But two
- 2:38Speaker 1: more weeks the NFL is going to jump off into
- 2:43Speaker 1: training camp. Really, the most miserable time for the player
- 2:51Speaker 1: is that that first two weeks it is clocking time.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Trying to get out of that first preseason game. That's
- 2:59Speaker 1: when you find they feel like you can breathe, But
- 3:01Speaker 1: for about two weeks you just kind of have to
- 3:03Speaker 1: hold your breath and go through it and try to
- 3:08Speaker 1: get down and get through preseason uninjured. A lot of
- 3:14Speaker 1: speculation about Lamar Jackson and his ranking, how he has
- 3:19Speaker 1: fallen off people upset. Jalen Hurts is not seen to
- 3:23Speaker 1: be higher. The only thing with media and we are
- 3:27Speaker 1: a part of it, and I try to toe the
- 3:28Speaker 1: line and stay in the middle.
- 3:31Speaker 5: I try.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It seems that sometimes the media to create energy, they
- 3:41Speaker 1: try to be like they don't see it, like predict
- 3:45Speaker 1: something better, predict something worse. If you told me Jalen
- 3:50Speaker 1: Hurts of the Eagles was quarterback fifteen, I can see
- 3:55Speaker 1: how you can see that. You can be quarterback fifteen
- 3:58Speaker 1: and win a Super Bowl. You can be a quarterback
- 4:01Speaker 1: that like last year. Remember the guy in Seattle, Big Kenny,
- 4:07Speaker 1: threw in the garbage. He went somewhere. They threw him
- 4:10Speaker 1: in the garbage too, like man he was, Uh, you
- 4:13Speaker 1: can go out and win super Bowls. A Super Bowl
- 4:16Speaker 1: quarterback is not a Hall of Fame quarterback. It has
- 4:20Speaker 1: nothing to do with the Hall of Fame. It really
- 4:26Speaker 1: does not. To take home. Super Bowl is a team game.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It's a quarterback doing what they need to do. So
- 4:36Speaker 1: go back, think about all the Super Bowls you've watched,
- 4:38Speaker 1: and how many people the Phil Sims and those guys
- 4:42Speaker 1: the Trent what his name, Joe Flacco, Trent Dill for
- 4:45Speaker 1: different quarterbacks that have you know. Eli Manning is debated.
- 4:51Speaker 1: He has you know, and and couldn't get in so
- 4:57Speaker 1: it's not. It doesn't go together where everybody thinks, oh,
- 5:01Speaker 1: I gotta have this Hall of Fame quarterback. No, you
- 5:04Speaker 1: just have to have a fish shit healthy quarterback with
- 5:08Speaker 1: a good team can win you a Super Bowl as well.
- 5:13Speaker 1: So let's go NFL. The shield is almost back on
- 5:18Speaker 1: the field. All Star Game, lies night. Did any of
- 5:22Speaker 1: you watch two nights ago Tuesday night, any of you
- 5:27Speaker 1: watch the All Star Game? Like the tune in it
- 5:30Speaker 1: to not turn your TV on and had just left
- 5:34Speaker 1: it on that channel? Okay, and that was your can't
- 5:38Speaker 1: can ask question, Yes, sir, but first sports track Major
- 5:43Speaker 1: League Baseball.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Okay, that was gonna be my question, which which All
- 5:46Speaker 5: Star Game? Which which I would just assume my answer
- 5:50Speaker 5: would have to be now because I didn't even know
- 5:52Speaker 5: what All Star Game you was talking about, because I thought, no, no,
- 5:56Speaker 5: that was World Cup. I was like, socker, No, that
- 5:58Speaker 5: was World Cup. And then they had a raft for
- 6:01Speaker 5: Major League Baseball and I remember being aware of that.
- 6:04Speaker 5: But I totally missed the Boys of Summer, the boy
- 6:09Speaker 5: and the Best of the Boys of Summer. Yes, it
- 6:11Speaker 5: was last night. It was a Tuesday night, Tuesday night
- 6:14Speaker 5: this week. Yeah, ago, in this month, I guess see,
- 6:20Speaker 5: because it got me confused with the math. Now, no, no, no,
- 6:22Speaker 5: my answer would have to be known. No, I haven't
- 6:25Speaker 5: watched the All Star Game in decades.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I got another question. I got I got another question,
- 6:31Speaker 1: I got another question. It was on TV. Yeah, okay,
- 6:35Speaker 1: all coverage, pre pre coverage, post coverage.
- 6:39Speaker 5: In the daytime. They say it happened. They say it happened.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Lot of people say that's what they say. It used
- 6:47Speaker 5: to be a thing.
- 6:48Speaker 1: It used to be a really big thing, the Major
- 6:50Speaker 1: League All Star Game. Did you see it?
- 6:53Speaker 6: No?
- 6:54Speaker 1: But I knew it was the Major League Baseball All
- 6:56Speaker 1: Star Game, but I forgot. But it was on.
- 7:00Speaker 7: When I saw the re plays in highlights, it was
- 7:03Speaker 7: like they was on Good Morning America, like Netflix Studio.
- 7:07Speaker 7: So they were doing one thing. And I still couldn't
- 7:10Speaker 7: don't know what channel the actual game was on. Still
- 7:13Speaker 7: hadn't figured that out from all the highlights. So and
- 7:16Speaker 7: I'm like, Greg, I hadn't been that long removed from
- 7:19Speaker 7: but at least, but you're baseball. I love baseball, But
- 7:23Speaker 7: at All Star Game. It's not like when we grew up.
- 7:25Speaker 1: It was like, no, don't do that, don't cast money
- 7:28Speaker 1: in the shadow of we with the we we we
- 7:32Speaker 1: we my.
- 7:32Speaker 7: Uh comrades, uh we as I said, we knew something,
- 7:38Speaker 7: we look forward to this.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Yeah, you kind of caught in the gap because you're
- 7:43Speaker 5: not young as the sports jock, but youngster, you're not quite.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Old as me neither. I ain't gonna need no sass
- 7:51Speaker 1: out now one of you. But yeah, it was.
- 7:54Speaker 7: It was sort of weird. I mean it got lost
- 7:58Speaker 7: in the shuffle. Now you mentioned something like was it
- 8:02Speaker 7: on Netflix?
- 8:04Speaker 6: Who?
- 8:04Speaker 7: Well, I thought it, well, the Home Run Derby was
- 8:08Speaker 7: on Netflix, and that's the That's one thing that I
- 8:12Speaker 7: thought was like, Okay, the Home Run w's on Netflix.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Games on Fox.
- 8:17Speaker 7: So you know, I'm not understanding this streaming services to
- 8:23Speaker 7: get you to look at the in the Home Run
- 8:24Speaker 7: Derby already they're not looking at No.
- 8:26Speaker 5: I completely understand. Once it's like the comedy business. All
- 8:30Speaker 5: I really need you to do is buy the ticket.
- 8:32Speaker 5: I don't care if you show up to see the
- 8:34Speaker 5: performance once. Once it's on Netflix, they cut the check.
- 8:38Speaker 5: And then if you watch on Fox, that's part of
- 8:40Speaker 5: the package. I then sold you the show. Now you
- 8:44Speaker 5: can watch it exclusively here. And then this little piece
- 8:49Speaker 5: we always gonna have the free giveaway, and it was
- 8:54Speaker 5: a great production on the whole. That that's why they
- 8:56Speaker 5: don't really advertise. I think people are gonna get a
- 9:01Speaker 5: going to going like you defended already. Yeah, that's my point. Yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 5: we already this whole like having things like the All
- 9:11Speaker 5: Star Game on Netflix. Yeah, because you have the fans vote.
- 9:16Speaker 5: So every fan may not have that streaming service.
- 9:20Speaker 7: So but I can remember going to the grocery store
- 9:23Speaker 7: the All Star Game used to take grab a couple
- 9:26Speaker 7: of things and feel about it. Got the things all
- 9:29Speaker 7: over the floor. You know how messy I am you
- 9:31Speaker 7: fuss about? You saw go behind me? Bunch of biscuit
- 9:36Speaker 7: crumbs on my floor right now. But what I'm saying, ownership,
- 9:41Speaker 7: take ownership, that's anyway. I'm just saying we went away
- 9:47Speaker 7: from all of the that right there. So it's the
- 9:51Speaker 7: fans game and the fans can't find it.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because when you think about it, you you see
- 9:57Speaker 1: all Star games as something that's literally put on for
- 10:01Speaker 1: the fan more than anything. You don't really think, Okay,
- 10:06Speaker 1: you sold me the Major League Baseball package. I gotta
- 10:10Speaker 1: pay for the games, but we do this. You think
- 10:13Speaker 1: the temperament for All Star games is we do this
- 10:17Speaker 1: for the fan. This is you, This is your by
- 10:20Speaker 1: five and get one free and in a moment for you.
- 10:24Speaker 1: So we're gonna put that to where everybody is readily
- 10:28Speaker 1: available to Why in your mind, that's how you imagine that.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Now the game when y'all kick back off tomorrow night,
- 10:35Speaker 1: I'm back to having to pay, but you feel like, okay,
- 10:39Speaker 1: if you get this, buy ten games, you get to
- 10:42Speaker 1: watch the All Star Game.
- 10:44Speaker 5: And I think that's because they've sold us watching sports
- 10:49Speaker 5: by paying anyway, because it used to be something like
- 10:52Speaker 5: the All Star Game they would cut into what be
- 10:55Speaker 5: a regular schedule program. That's Dallas they were tonight, We're
- 11:00Speaker 5: going you won't be seeing Dallas tonight. They'll be showing
- 11:02Speaker 5: it tomorrow because of the Major League Baseball All Star
- 11:06Speaker 5: Game and now any and everything you watched, they've made
- 11:10Speaker 5: you feel like it's okay to buy a baseball package
- 11:13Speaker 5: that used to be Remember, Ted Turner was one of
- 11:16Speaker 5: the first to start broadcasting games as as the anchor
- 11:20Speaker 5: program on their broadcast.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Imagine Greg, I want to apologize for Big Kenny and
- 11:25Speaker 1: the bad producer. They come in this morning. They get
- 11:28Speaker 1: on you about your nice shirt and how far have
- 11:33Speaker 1: we fallen down that they see a nice button down
- 11:39Speaker 1: shirt and thank you, I thank isn't that something?
- 11:46Speaker 5: Thank you?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Got a wire on new age? And and the bad
- 11:50Speaker 1: producer has on basically the same kind of shirt. Well,
- 11:54Speaker 1: they wear more polos and golf.
- 11:57Speaker 5: They go to A's golf. They were more polos and
- 12:03Speaker 5: you work, which says that y'all condiment through me off
- 12:07Speaker 5: the they do. But so cops, Now he's just really
- 12:13Speaker 5: showing his age and grasping. That's for straw, for relevant
- 12:18Speaker 5: for But I like your shirt, man, Like.
- 12:21Speaker 1: When they was talking, I was thinking, I don't know
- 12:23Speaker 1: how a button down meant that you are sellout. I
- 12:29Speaker 1: like your shirt to commands you, Greg, I'm gonna need
- 12:31Speaker 1: you to run that. I don't know what does that mean?
- 12:35Speaker 8: Greg?
- 12:36Speaker 1: Run Run He's trying to take it from him. Run
- 12:39Speaker 1: the shirt, nerd oh, run the shirt. Nurves justify against
- 12:45Speaker 1: the Crown. Now we got show right after this.
- 12:51Speaker 9: I want to spit the first, worst, the worst, just
- 12:54Speaker 9: if not pit the word every time every person of
- 12:58Speaker 9: simplest Nursery.
- 13:00Speaker 10: Don't go Away, or of the Sports Jock Show with
- 13:03Speaker 10: Wayne Dan videos dumbing up?
- 13:05Speaker 8: Next?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Are they gonna go we got.

- 15:24Speaker 1: Taking it to a completely different level.
- 15:26Speaker 14: This year, where we highlight an appolte that has taken
- 15:29Speaker 14: their game to the next level.
- 15:36Speaker 1: First first, I'm ho till on all my life's riding
- 15:40Speaker 1: on the hall of barn on all upon it before Tuxter,
- 15:43Speaker 1: I kill y'all, kindness, I kill y'all. My natural book
- 15:46Speaker 1: persign is much worse you've been born.

- 15:56Speaker 5: bottom from the home.
- 15:57Speaker 1: One wack to this horse shock shower. I'm on the sportshock.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I ain't can t Good morning to you out there
- 16:02Speaker 1: and listening Land. We left talking about the All Star
- 16:05Speaker 1: n LB All Star Game that was Tuesday night. Come
- 16:09Speaker 1: at you. Greg informed us that the American League won, correct, right, Okay,
- 16:14Speaker 1: the All Star Game. The four of us here on
- 16:18Speaker 1: the panel, none of us tuned in to watch the
- 16:21Speaker 1: All Star Game. Shame on us. None of us saw
- 16:26Speaker 1: the Major League Baseball Draft, which happened like Saturday. I
- 16:31Speaker 1: saw it, Oh did you? I saw it?
- 16:32Speaker 5: Yeah, Now did you intentionally yeah, tuned in. I intentionally
- 16:36Speaker 5: tuned in and I saw Pittsburgh. I believe they drafted
- 16:43Speaker 5: a number. They are the first eight. Oh, I thought
- 16:47Speaker 5: they had the first pick. Now it was the fifth
- 16:49Speaker 5: or eighth pick that a kid got drafted. To know
- 16:53Speaker 5: the fifth pick went to Pittsburgh, I believe he got drafted.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Now only watched the one guy get drafted, And did
- 17:02Speaker 5: you knew the guy?
- 17:05Speaker 6: No?
- 17:05Speaker 1: I was just trying to see who went where.
- 17:09Speaker 5: And then a kid from Mississippi who was fresh out
- 17:12Speaker 5: of high school got drafted. A couple of kids from
- 17:15Speaker 5: Mississippi did get drafted, So through association, I was made
- 17:21Speaker 5: aware of when they were taken. But it wasn't like
- 17:24Speaker 5: watch a whole first six, seven rounds something like that.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Well, the Home Run Derby took place on Monday night.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Saint Louis Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker claimed the championship in
- 17:41Speaker 1: that up in Philadelphia where the All Star Game took place,
- 17:46Speaker 1: to twenty four year old winning the Home Run Derby.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Home Run Dubber has had a lot of controversy, similar
- 17:53Speaker 1: to the NBA Dunk Contest. How should it go? Some
- 17:58Speaker 1: people just want one round and then things like that,
- 18:02Speaker 1: they don't want it to be okay, we moved to
- 18:05Speaker 1: the next round and something where you're talking about hitting
- 18:07Speaker 1: home run. So I definitely can imagine that. I even
- 18:13Speaker 1: think the dunk contest should just be two phases. Everybody
- 18:17Speaker 1: gets a certain amount of dunks and then maybe three
- 18:20Speaker 1: and then and get it over quicker you run out
- 18:22Speaker 1: of ideas. It's in ed something going to you know,
- 18:27Speaker 1: trust me, you see one guy do a dunk, you're
- 18:31Speaker 1: it takes a dunk that you might have had off
- 18:33Speaker 1: the board now. So that's why the McClung what was
- 18:38Speaker 1: his name, Mac mcclun. McClung, I think because he was
- 18:41Speaker 1: a professional dunker, so I got more tricks than you.
- 18:48Speaker 1: But if I'm just a day to day basketball player,
- 18:51Speaker 1: and between that and a lot of your big names
- 18:54Speaker 1: started fading out because we was taking the dunk contest
- 18:58Speaker 1: too serious. Though, walked about like, but yeah, he's in
- 19:04Speaker 1: and out like well, in and out of the time,
- 19:07Speaker 1: primarily primarily in the G League. But I think he
- 19:12Speaker 1: I think more of a part of it is that
- 19:16Speaker 1: we didn't see like the star players, or at least
- 19:20Speaker 1: the younger players that we knew their names could participate
- 19:24Speaker 1: because they were afraid of embarrassing themselves. I don't think
- 19:27Speaker 1: they were trying to embarrass I don't think.
- 19:29Speaker 15: That like protecting their protecting their brand or their their
- 19:34Speaker 15: or their reputation, whatever that might have been.
- 19:38Speaker 1: They didn't want to go out. It doesn't it doesn't
- 19:41Speaker 1: financially embarrassed. It doesn't professionally enhance me. I already got
- 19:47Speaker 1: a sneaker deal. What what what what? What benefit does
- 19:53Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards, the young the Young Lion, the young Wolf
- 19:59Speaker 1: What benefit of him being in the dunk contest is offered?
- 20:07Speaker 1: What what Me and you we're his agents? What do
- 20:15Speaker 1: we offer him that this is going to do for
- 20:17Speaker 1: his career?
- 20:21Speaker 15: I think both things can be true, though, like he
- 20:25Speaker 15: doesn't need it, but also I mean, there's like nothing,
- 20:29Speaker 15: there's nothing to gain, but there's some things to lose
- 20:33Speaker 15: or to take a hit on.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Maybe what you should gain, Maybe you should They don't
- 20:36Speaker 1: care about no fan the astar.
- 20:38Speaker 7: But I'm saying that's one thing, Like he said, you
- 20:40Speaker 7: can win and lose. He can win some more fans.
- 20:43Speaker 15: No, no, no, there's not there's like you're saying, with
- 20:47Speaker 15: the benefit. I do agree with that part I think
- 20:49Speaker 15: like there's if they there is the potential for some
- 20:53Speaker 15: kind of embarrassment if they're missing a bunch of dugs.
- 20:57Speaker 15: So yes, they they don't win when it then it's
- 21:00Speaker 15: it's a knock on them for some reasons.
- 21:03Speaker 1: So it's as his as his agents and his people,
- 21:07Speaker 1: Big Kenny, what are we offering that this is going
- 21:10Speaker 1: to do to his career.
- 21:11Speaker 5: It can't do anything to catapulture career for it. You're
- 21:19Speaker 5: just participating for the love of the game, for the
- 21:22Speaker 5: love of the fans. This is a gimme because you
- 21:24Speaker 5: should feel so fortunate to participate with us. I don't
- 21:27Speaker 5: understand when we're talking about the benefit, when we're talking
- 21:33Speaker 5: about rounds of the home run Derby and rounds of
- 21:36Speaker 5: the dunk contest, what benefit is adding endurance to it?
- 21:41Speaker 5: I mean, it's do spectacular highlights. Do we not think
- 21:45Speaker 5: the dunk contests help got those? No, I'm endorsement deals
- 21:49Speaker 5: from early on for those.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, but the last fifteen years.
- 21:55Speaker 9: No.
- 21:55Speaker 5: So I go to the All Star Game and trying
- 21:58Speaker 5: to dunk it is a risk in itself if I
- 22:02Speaker 5: injure myself trying to jump over a car.
- 22:04Speaker 7: Then so after this, no, a lot of what I'm
- 22:07Speaker 7: saying a lot of problem with them doing the dunk,
- 22:09Speaker 7: doing all these special dunks in the warm up.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Once you go ahead and do it in the dunk contest,
- 22:14Speaker 5: let me finish. Do it in the dunk contest in
- 22:17Speaker 5: one round. That's my point. You trying to add endurance
- 22:20Speaker 5: to it. It's enough that I'm jumping over a car now,
- 22:23Speaker 5: you mean I got to do that two times? Maybe,
- 22:25Speaker 5: if you're right, they we must give us. I get
- 22:30Speaker 5: to you miss you go. Those two that you did
- 22:34Speaker 5: were nice, but weren't nice enough to come to the
- 22:37Speaker 5: finals right now.
- 22:37Speaker 1: That's how it used to be.
- 22:39Speaker 5: And that's what I'm saying. I'm asking, why are you
- 22:41Speaker 5: adding endurance? Why do I have to hit ten home
- 22:43Speaker 5: runs four times to be the home run champion? I
- 22:47Speaker 5: don't understand that.
- 22:48Speaker 15: So but they've they've they've tweeted with that format too,
- 22:51Speaker 15: because it used to be time like, okay, two minutes,
- 22:54Speaker 15: hit as many as you can, and now or the
- 23:00Speaker 15: fans and the.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Hitter, that's what the hitters because they get tired, they
- 23:03Speaker 1: say that, you know, the hitters get tired at a
- 23:06Speaker 1: certain point. Remember, this is actually supposed to be my
- 23:08Speaker 1: week off actually because everybody else is off. Dunk contest
- 23:13Speaker 1: is the same as far as creativity, When did I
- 23:16Speaker 1: have time to formulate these dunks and a six? And
- 23:20Speaker 1: it doesn't benefit me anything at all. I actually had
- 23:25Speaker 1: to pay for my own hotel when you think about it,
- 23:28Speaker 1: And that's the biggest thing. What is it if you
- 23:31Speaker 1: can't show when they started it? D Brown won the
- 23:37Speaker 1: Dunk Contest. Rebok gave him a shoe deal yesterday. These
- 23:43Speaker 1: all stars go there to release a shoe, just a
- 23:49Speaker 1: shoe for the All Star Game, the All Star colorway.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Mm hmm. It's gonna be there for aunt anyway, So
- 23:57Speaker 1: what is him dunking doing? Nobody seems to add that in.
- 24:03Speaker 1: They just wanting to join the Dunk Contest and didn't
- 24:05Speaker 1: want to five people and didn't want us to pay
- 24:08Speaker 1: the seed five more. It ain't infected. It ain't infected.
- 24:12Speaker 1: My bottom line, My deal already secure. Nobody bought a
- 24:16Speaker 1: Steph Curry. He milked under Armor for all that money
- 24:21Speaker 1: to the point he on left and started his own shoe.
- 24:24Speaker 1: And you've never seen anybody in a Steph Curry. And
- 24:28Speaker 1: nobody watched the home run derby either kids wear them
- 24:32Speaker 1: we'll be back in kids, We'll be back right after this.
- 24:38Speaker 16: We said to be the d neither one of the sad,
- 24:41Speaker 16: but from something I never wanted to wave.
- 24:45Speaker 10: Don't go awayne board of the sports Josh Hill with
- 24:48Speaker 10: Wayne Gambias coming up next.
- 24:52Speaker 17: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive, all
- 24:55Speaker 17: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 24:59Speaker 17: us kids and our cell phones. Distracted driving was the
- 25:02Speaker 17: cause of more than three thousand deaths in twenty twenty two.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the
- 25:09Speaker 1: phones and focus on the roads.
- 25:11Speaker 17: Drive safe, everybody.
- 25:13Speaker 18: Don't drive distracted. The message brought to you by the

- 27:35Speaker 1: This what shock shall I'm this what shock wing can
- 27:38Speaker 1: t Good morning to you out there and listening land
- 27:41Speaker 1: command you Greg, the funny man, I mean the funny man,
- 27:43Speaker 1: Big Kenny in the building, a bad producer in the
- 27:47Speaker 1: building as well. Been a while since we've been here
- 27:51Speaker 1: as a foursome, So guys, you know, good morning once again.
- 27:56Speaker 1: That morning you guys, we talked about the All Star Game.
- 28:00Speaker 1: One note, Jordan Walker, the twenty four year old who
- 28:02Speaker 1: won the home run Derby, won more money but the
- 28:08Speaker 1: Derby than his salary is this year. That's something that
- 28:12Speaker 1: the NBA Dunk Contest does not offer you. I think
- 28:16Speaker 1: he went like one hundred grand for the NBA Dunk Contests.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Those guys are not going to do that. That work
- 28:24Speaker 1: back in the eighties for Dominique to go out and
- 28:28Speaker 1: give an effort. But I did tell you, well, I
- 28:31Speaker 1: did tell you I was dropping my new Colorway Colorway
- 28:34Speaker 1: just for this game.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Yes, ain't nobody gonna buy it. Ain't nobody gonna buy it.
- 28:40Speaker 5: And I'm already made million. Jordan Walker says that I
- 28:45Speaker 5: hope it means a lot. Well, excuse me, I mean
- 28:49Speaker 5: it helps a lot to them. I don't know how
- 28:53Speaker 5: he came up with that, but I want to be
- 28:55Speaker 5: a role model for the black kids. You know, I
- 28:59Speaker 5: want more Black kids in baseball. Quote unquote, that's Jordan
- 29:04Speaker 5: Walker wants to be a role model in the community.
- 29:10Speaker 5: We talked about this throughout the time we've been on
- 29:12Speaker 5: the air when a lot of success is garnered in sports.
- 29:19Speaker 5: We've talked about the percentage of Black Americans in baseball
- 29:26Speaker 5: and how it's dwindling. Jordan I would tell you you
- 29:33Speaker 5: would need to go to Major League Baseball. You got
- 29:36Speaker 5: to get Nike or Adidas. They're going to have to
- 29:41Speaker 5: sell and market you to inspire more black kids. The
- 29:51Speaker 5: dominance of football and basketball in a way where it
- 29:57Speaker 5: has made athletes only do that sport. We're talking about
- 30:05Speaker 5: a generation here and really the last two where you
- 30:10Speaker 5: meet a kid he only does track, he only does basketball.
- 30:19Speaker 5: It's not that old way where you played football. You
- 30:22Speaker 5: might have played basketball. Then you went to baseball. It's
- 30:25Speaker 5: not a lot of that. You watch and you see.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Guys graduate and women too, and they are just one sport.
- 30:34Speaker 1: You're lucky to have him down for two nowadays. So
- 30:39Speaker 1: what happens is we don't get around to baseball, and
- 30:46Speaker 1: as much as you want, the number of the pool
- 30:50Speaker 1: is the same amount. You could say that with soccer.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Could you imeragine somebody teaching someone like a Tyreek Hill
- 30:58Speaker 1: how to play soccer, trust and that kind of thing.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Unheard of? The speed that speed is would make him
- 31:10Speaker 1: the fastest soccer player on the planet. But but we
- 31:14Speaker 1: see that as parents, we see that as coaches, and
- 31:19Speaker 1: we think nine route post route, tass sweet. We don't
- 31:28Speaker 1: think Ricky Henderson. We don't think Henderson kid, get the six,
- 31:32Speaker 1: six sixty seven. Hey, hey, let's go out here to
- 31:35Speaker 1: the basketball court. This is what happens. That happens as
- 31:40Speaker 1: I my old story of telling you how I even
- 31:42Speaker 1: got on the football field, is me going into eighth grade,
- 31:50Speaker 1: going to my first class, which was pe physical education.
- 31:55Speaker 1: The guy walks over gives me a helmet. This is
- 31:59Speaker 1: not a fake story. This is I'm clean, got my
- 32:01Speaker 1: little dr car on that my boy Field had a
- 32:05Speaker 1: little bottle of Dr Car cologne.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Y'all had to share. And yeah, you showed up everywhere smelling.
- 32:11Speaker 5: All I had was the old spikes had some Drekar. Yeah,
- 32:14Speaker 5: yeah you had. You wasn't carrying and hated that I
- 32:17Speaker 5: had pe first period, go in, sit down. Coach Denmark
- 32:24Speaker 5: comes over and here's your helmet. Hey, coach, now, I'm
- 32:30Speaker 5: not playing football. I'm playing basketball.
- 32:33Speaker 1: He did just that. He laughed at me. No, son,
- 32:41Speaker 1: I'm the assistant basketball coach. Now I can probably sue
- 32:45Speaker 1: him for today, right, but in nineteen eighty four, whatever
- 32:51Speaker 1: that was eighty five, I'm not going to let you
- 32:56Speaker 1: play basketball unless you play football for me later anyway. Yeah,
- 33:05Speaker 1: I don't even you're telling me if I don't play
- 33:08Speaker 1: football for you're not even gonna let me go out
- 33:11Speaker 1: now you already cook you see down. That makes it
- 33:19Speaker 1: so I'm never even getting to And then what happens. Now,
- 33:24Speaker 1: how many kids you meet that all they do is
- 33:27Speaker 1: play football? Well, or all they do is basketball. They
- 33:30Speaker 1: don't have another sport. They're not Wilt Chamberlain, they're not
- 33:32Speaker 1: Jim Brown.
- 33:34Speaker 15: Your look like with the AAU circuit, or or there's
- 33:40Speaker 15: travel baseball, travel soccer.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I can make a whole year out of basketball for
- 33:44Speaker 1: my son or daughter. Now, I don't make a whole
- 33:47Speaker 1: year out of volleyball all the girls now.
- 33:49Speaker 5: With the guy who won the home run derby, I'm
- 33:51Speaker 5: trying to figure out what the priority is here, he said,
- 33:54Speaker 5: trying to encourage more African American kids to like he
- 33:58Speaker 5: didn't say African black Okay, black American, Okay, that that's
- 34:06Speaker 5: the word I was king on the American part. He
- 34:09Speaker 5: wants more Black American kids to play baseball. But there
- 34:14Speaker 5: may not be a lot of Black American kids playing baseball.
- 34:17Speaker 5: But there aren't a whole bunch of American players in
- 34:21Speaker 5: baseball at all, anyway, That's what I'm saying.
- 34:23Speaker 1: That true, it's the international game, right, No, if you
- 34:29Speaker 1: combine black Americans with white Americans, we still make up
- 34:33Speaker 1: at least half of Major League baseball. So he wants
- 34:38Speaker 1: to make it more than half.
- 34:41Speaker 12: Or just that.
- 34:42Speaker 15: I think it's a it's a I'm sure that what
- 34:45Speaker 15: the percentage is of Black Americans in Major League baseball.
- 34:50Speaker 15: There aren't a lot of Black American players, at least
- 34:53Speaker 15: at the the out on the major league level.
- 34:56Speaker 1: There may be.
- 34:59Speaker 15: A lot in the minor leagues, but on the major
- 35:01Speaker 15: league level, there aren't a lot of Black Americans. There
- 35:04Speaker 15: are plenty of Americans. It is an international The percentage
- 35:08Speaker 15: of black American black American baseball players.
- 35:13Speaker 1: It's easy, it's easy to see see sometimes we try to.
- 35:17Speaker 1: It's math, so it's easy. It's the same one hundred
- 35:23Speaker 1: thousand athletes. So the percentage that you saw basketball twenty
- 35:30Speaker 1: five years ago was fifty black. When you see that
- 35:36Speaker 1: number moves up to sixty five percent, seventy percent. That
- 35:41Speaker 1: was baseball players no longer playing baseball. When you see football,
- 35:46Speaker 1: it's easy. It's not. You still have to deal with
- 35:49Speaker 1: your simple size. You're trying to your simple size is
- 35:55Speaker 1: the same.
- 35:57Speaker 5: When I asked about priority, I thought it was just
- 35:59Speaker 5: at one point they were pushing getting people of color
- 36:03Speaker 5: into the sports.
- 36:04Speaker 1: So if you were Asian, if you were, uh, we're
- 36:09Speaker 1: to be the league. This is this young man. It's
- 36:12Speaker 1: nothing wrong with what he's saying. I'm saying what the
- 36:15Speaker 1: hard is in this country. We are selling baseball players, period.
- 36:25Speaker 1: They're not selling Ronald Acuna here in Atlanta, Georgia, they're
- 36:30Speaker 1: telling you to be bjon Ya. You're selling Harris.
- 36:37Speaker 5: They're not selling like they used to sell run Gat
- 36:41Speaker 5: Brian Jordan's and the Pendleton I mean Fred McGriff. They
- 36:46Speaker 5: used to sell those guys. They sold every athlete, and
- 36:49Speaker 5: they don't sell baseball players. That's part of why you
- 36:54Speaker 5: been tuned in.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Tuesday night. Don't think that's all across the board. That's
- 37:00Speaker 1: how that's how they went to the football model, follow
- 37:05Speaker 1: the team, not the player. They got away from the
- 37:09Speaker 1: Barry Bonds Marco Wire equation. They moved like the NFL says,
- 37:17Speaker 1: be a fan of the Cowboys, don't worry about who plays.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Is that not how football is now? That's yeah, pretty much.
- 37:27Speaker 1: People are team based, team based. For the most part,
- 37:32Speaker 1: people are team based. We got one or two guys
- 37:38Speaker 1: you might turn on the TV to watch, but for
- 37:42Speaker 1: the most part, if it ain't your team or they
- 37:44Speaker 1: ain't paying your team. They mentioned a player, it's it's
- 37:47Speaker 1: the quarterback. And to add.
- 37:51Speaker 5: To what the sports safety mechanism, because if we we
- 37:56Speaker 5: we've seen the heart throb, the the champion, the hero
- 38:01Speaker 5: of our team become a flawed human being. And now
- 38:05Speaker 5: that affects people wanting to I'm not coming to see
- 38:08Speaker 5: my team because he plays for them. Now, if it's
- 38:11Speaker 5: about the team, he was just a cog in the
- 38:14Speaker 5: machine that we can remove or repair or send off
- 38:18Speaker 5: to be refurbished in the team.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Still, I will tell you that forty years ago, when
- 38:23Speaker 1: baseball was a number one pastime in the United States,
- 38:27Speaker 1: they took the model of what is now the number
- 38:30Speaker 1: one past time, just like Major League Soccer. This Sunday
- 38:36Speaker 1: is creating a halftime show. Who you think they got
- 38:40Speaker 1: that from the NFL, just like the NBA has up
- 38:47Speaker 1: their halftime show pregame because of the Super Bowl. I
- 38:51Speaker 1: don't even know that you're supposed to have a halftime show,
- 38:54Speaker 1: but they're creating one for the World Cup. They also
- 38:59Speaker 1: in the World Cup, but they probably got it still.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Also another NFL, they've created what they call hydration break.
- 39:07Speaker 1: That's not soccer. If you go see Atlanta United, they
- 39:11Speaker 1: don't stop for a hydration dration break. But the World
- 39:16Speaker 1: Cup now are selling commercials. Don't think this is not
- 39:22Speaker 1: gonna end. This is gonna be how it works. And
- 39:24Speaker 1: hydration I'm gonna I'm gonna find ways it's gonna go
- 39:28Speaker 1: from two hydration break to four spot because Coca Cola
- 39:33Speaker 1: and the world and Microsoft. They're gonna pay us. Everything
- 39:39Speaker 1: is driven by the dollar. We'll be back more to
- 39:43Speaker 1: Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 39:46Speaker 16: Then pull us up looking the more women than to
- 39:49Speaker 16: jump to the cubes, girl and on something Tony Ports
- 39:52Speaker 16: for what's telling ye.

- 42:05Speaker 2: And now back to the Sports John Wayne Yanny, it's
- 42:18Speaker 2: win lock ANSO. You can sit a sports joint, I'll
- 42:33Speaker 2: sing even.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Very Canny went back to this wry shock shall I'm
- 42:38Speaker 1: the sports shock Wayne again. D the sb's went down
- 42:43Speaker 1: last night something once again, I did not know, maybe
- 42:48Speaker 1: because I went out and I watched the England Argentina game.
- 42:55Speaker 1: We'll talk about that Argentina winning to the one. But
- 42:59Speaker 1: I did read that comedy skits by Marcelo Hernandez from
- 43:05Speaker 1: Saturday Night Live centered around Tiger Woods and his d
- 43:10Speaker 1: u y and Bill Belichick and his girlfriend on Monday show.
- 43:18Speaker 1: I think off air we were talking about on the
- 43:22Speaker 1: BET Awards where Drewski was the host and he was
- 43:29Speaker 1: mocking Michael Jackson, the SP's the comedians mocking Tiger Woods
- 43:35Speaker 1: and Bill Belichick? K are you and commands? I know
- 43:40Speaker 1: y'all are comedians. Is mocking people? The new comedy taking
- 43:58Speaker 1: people's tragedies, the new comedy taking people's bad moments? The
- 44:04Speaker 1: new comedy? Or was this that always the comedy?
- 44:16Speaker 5: I would ask a question first, was Bill? Were Bill
- 44:19Speaker 5: Belichick and time with it? I don't know, okay, because
- 44:22Speaker 5: people try and label comedy now. Comedy for me has
- 44:27Speaker 5: always been from a first person perspective, So I don't
- 44:32Speaker 5: talk about your tragedies because I was not there. I
- 44:35Speaker 5: can talk about how I feel about how others feel
- 44:39Speaker 5: or what I experience based on your tragedy. But for
- 44:43Speaker 5: me to make that my punch line, Oh, you see
- 44:46Speaker 5: that he had a stroke. But when you watch comedy
- 44:50Speaker 5: from a viewership, uh huh? Is that the new comedy
- 44:56Speaker 5: when you think about it, like, that's the people's that's people's.
- 45:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna get up here and I'm gonna do fifteen
- 45:03Speaker 1: minutes on Bill Cosby, I'm gonna do tell minutes on R. Kelly.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Is that the new comedy? That's people? I think that's
- 45:13Speaker 1: low hanging fruit. Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 5: People love to do that kind of stuff because it's
- 45:16Speaker 5: equally It's equal parts social media and me pretending that
- 45:24Speaker 5: I'm in exercising the art because again, when we talk
- 45:29Speaker 5: about comedy, I'm intimately connected to it, and part of
- 45:33Speaker 5: my pleasure with comedy is the creation part biting as
- 45:38Speaker 5: a crime. I got to be original. I'm talking about me.
- 45:41Speaker 5: I know R Kelly got problems, but these big Kenny's problems.
- 45:46Speaker 5: That's what this hour is about. And for me to
- 45:49Speaker 5: just bash him for being in prison. I could did
- 45:52Speaker 5: them jokes about my own people that's in prison. You
- 45:54Speaker 5: see what I'm saying, so uh and that's.
- 45:56Speaker 1: What and that's what I'm asking you too, from to
- 46:00Speaker 1: go down, to go to the modern day style right,
- 46:05Speaker 1: different than because mc kenny, you're speaking on more of
- 46:09Speaker 1: the comedy that I would have been entrent. Yeah. The
- 46:12Speaker 1: pereist now is actually no, I'm going to take this
- 46:16Speaker 1: person's name right and.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Not just telling a story about like you're saying, but
- 46:25Speaker 5: I'm actually film it and and and all of this
- 46:28Speaker 5: now a lot of that. Like I said, it's like
- 46:30Speaker 5: a social media skit.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I just want to.
- 46:35Speaker 5: It's for me offensive because you're taking people's lowest moments
- 46:42Speaker 5: and not only commenting on them, but commenting on them
- 46:46Speaker 5: well from a bias point of view.
- 46:49Speaker 1: We saw a couple of weeks ago at who was
- 46:51Speaker 1: That getting roasted and everybody Gotvin Hart uproar about George
- 46:57Speaker 1: George Floyd and its like is that the new comedy?
- 47:03Speaker 7: Well they not only were they upset about the Tiger
- 47:08Speaker 7: Woods and Bill Belichick, but her opening monolog she went
- 47:12Speaker 7: at last year's host because he was trying to get
- 47:15Speaker 7: everybody true American. She made a joke about him, say, well,
- 47:18Speaker 7: we know this year's host is a true American. He's
- 47:20Speaker 7: at home on the couch drinking a beer while the
- 47:24Speaker 7: Hispanics are doing the job for him because she's a
- 47:27Speaker 7: Latino heritage.
- 47:28Speaker 1: So that was even the kicking this. She even went
- 47:30Speaker 1: aed Caitlin Clark like in a way I thought that
- 47:34Speaker 1: was a crude job. Well, and this is the thing.
- 47:37Speaker 5: Some years ago it started and people started calling it,
- 47:41Speaker 5: labeling it progressive comedy, and progressive comedy is basically just divisive,
- 47:46Speaker 5: shock value comedy. I'm going to use race the same
- 47:49Speaker 5: things that we've used in politics. Comedy used to be
- 47:52Speaker 5: a unifying thing. I'm going to put my spin on
- 47:55Speaker 5: stuff that can make us laugh because everything's so horrible.
- 48:00Speaker 5: If we don't laugh, we'd be crying all the time.
- 48:02Speaker 5: But now that crying makes money. So I'll just instead
- 48:06Speaker 5: of making you not think about George Floyd and the
- 48:10Speaker 5: horror of it, all of that presented to our society,
- 48:14Speaker 5: let's just look at that and go, why isn't that funny? Well,
- 48:18Speaker 5: because the dude is dead. You know, usually people getting
- 48:21Speaker 5: killed in real life, ain't they?
- 48:23Speaker 1: And great time.
- 48:24Speaker 15: Some people like you might get that nervous laughter from
- 48:28Speaker 15: people if they make a joke about George Floyd or
- 48:31Speaker 15: something like that, you get that nervous laughter, and that
- 48:35Speaker 15: will still count.
- 48:36Speaker 1: But you do it for the nervous laughter. What's Bill
- 48:39Speaker 1: Belichick's girlfriend? What's her last name? Hudson? Jordan Hudson, greg
- 48:46Speaker 1: and your sensibilities Because definitely in the last ten, twelve,
- 48:52Speaker 1: fifteen years, the word bullying appears in everything everything. Why
- 48:58Speaker 1: is nobody coming to Jordan Hudson's defense of how society
- 49:04Speaker 1: and a lot of people, comedians and you go down
- 49:06Speaker 1: the line, are bullying her about her choice of who
- 49:11Speaker 1: she is dating. Why no one's coming to her defense? Yeah?
- 49:16Speaker 1: They come. I think if I bully and go down
- 49:18Speaker 1: here and talk about, you.
- 49:21Speaker 5: Know, Michelle Roight regis dating another woman. I don't like
- 49:25Speaker 5: how Michelle Regez Daton. Have you seen her with that girl?
- 49:29Speaker 5: They're just two lesbians? Oh cancel him?
- 49:32Speaker 1: Why Why are we? Why are we just letting it
- 49:35Speaker 1: be okay to go at Jordan Hudson over her choice
- 49:39Speaker 1: of who she's dating. She's not doing anything illegal. This
- 49:42Speaker 1: is just the gentleman she chose to date. I think
- 49:46Speaker 1: those who are the loudest about going after her. They don't.
- 49:52Speaker 1: They're they're seeing something wrong. Whatever that is.
- 49:55Speaker 15: Their perspective is that that's wrong. So I'm gonna be
- 49:59Speaker 15: a lout of out how wrong I think this is.
- 50:03Speaker 15: And that can come from.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Well, no, no, no, I think not.
- 50:06Speaker 6: Now.
- 50:08Speaker 5: The person who says look at the two lesbians could
- 50:11Speaker 5: say I think it's wrong and then give you biblical
- 50:14Speaker 5: scripture that would support that why they think it's wrong,
- 50:17Speaker 5: and people would still want them canceled.
- 50:20Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 50:21Speaker 5: These people go after her because she's dating an older man,
- 50:25Speaker 5: and nobody, regardless of what the reason is, is willing
- 50:29Speaker 5: to go let her live her life. That's what I'm saying.
- 50:32Speaker 5: They're willing to let her be bashed. We'll be more
- 50:36Speaker 5: of the Sports Shock Show right after.
- 50:38Speaker 1: This lace that's.
- 50:51Speaker 10: Don't Go awayne Board of the Sports John Show with
- 50:53Speaker 10: Wayne Gandia is coming up next.
- 50:56Speaker 8: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 50:59Speaker 8: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 51:03Speaker 8: It's a powerful opioid, often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 51:06Speaker 8: with illicit drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 51:09Speaker 8: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 51:14Speaker 8: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 51:17Speaker 8: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it isn't
- 51:19Speaker 8: that to make you think twice. Get the facts. Go
- 51:22Speaker 8: to Real Deal on fentanyl dot com. This message is
- 51:25Speaker 8: brought to you by the AD Council. Talking about guns
- 51:30Speaker 8: with others might not always feel comfortable, but it could
- 51:33Speaker 8: save a life. Here's a way to start a conversation.
- 51:36Speaker 8: Your family is going over to your neighbor's home for
- 51:38Speaker 8: dinner for the first time. How would you ask if
- 51:40Speaker 8: there are any unlocked guns in the home.
- 51:42Speaker 12: Hey, Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 51:46Speaker 12: may ask if there are any unlocked guns in your home.
- 51:49Speaker 13: Our guns are stored securely locked in a safe that
- 51:52Speaker 13: the kids can't access.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 51:54Speaker 11: Learn how to have the conversation at Agree to Agree
- 51:57Speaker 11: dot Org. Brought to you by the AD Council.
- 52:02Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job. Wayne Gaddy.
- 52:07Speaker 22: Center Court on sports news gossip blah blah blah blah.
- 52:19Speaker 22: I's sure, I'm.
- 52:28Speaker 21: Upsets up and just be good if you can side.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Welcome back to this sport shock show. I'm in the
- 52:34Speaker 1: sport shock Wayne Candy, Good morning to you out there
- 52:37Speaker 1: listening Land. Glad to be here with you. A great
- 52:40Speaker 1: show going here so far, guys, love the energy, love
- 52:45Speaker 1: the insight. Yesterday England taking on Argentina, Argentina winning two
- 52:52Speaker 1: to one, a late flurry of offensive dominance by Argentina.
- 53:02Speaker 1: When you watch the match, England dominating that first half,
- 53:07Speaker 1: but late into that second half Argentina. From me even watching,
- 53:13Speaker 1: they kind of changed it up, took line of Messi
- 53:17Speaker 1: from inside moving outside. By the end of the match
- 53:22Speaker 1: he has to assist and Argentina has this victory to
- 53:26Speaker 1: go ahead and take on Spain. England hasn't been to
- 53:31Speaker 1: a final since nineteen sixty six of the World Cup.
- 53:38Speaker 1: So a lot of English people in town here. That
- 53:42Speaker 1: match was here in Atlanta, and it's going to be
- 53:46Speaker 1: who Argentina and Spain. Argentina and Spain. Lina Messi has
- 53:51Speaker 1: his work. A lot of people already picking that Spain
- 53:54Speaker 1: is the better team. With Messi, Argentina gives him, gives Argentina.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Messi gives Argentina a chance, and you imagine, at thirty
- 54:07Speaker 1: nine years old, if he can pull this off, then
- 54:14Speaker 1: they just renamed the country, Yes, just becomes MESSI. Yes.
- 54:20Speaker 1: I mean, well they've allowed kids now have Messy her name,
- 54:25Speaker 1: they now to just be Messy Tina. I mean, like
- 54:33Speaker 1: you know, I don't.
- 54:35Speaker 5: I don't know how anybody didn't see this coming. I
- 54:38Speaker 5: know that the England players are like torly good, it's
- 54:42Speaker 5: going to be us in the final. And then somebody
- 54:44Speaker 5: was like one cardlos say it be a Spanish final.
- 54:48Speaker 5: And now we got Argentina and them going again, and
- 54:54Speaker 5: of course MESSI will win because it's.
- 54:59Speaker 1: It's fe no yesterday watching I watched from beginning to end.
- 55:03Speaker 1: It had nothing to do with FIFA. It was not
- 55:08Speaker 1: a lot of calls the referees. There was really nothing questionable.
- 55:13Speaker 14: Uh.
- 55:13Speaker 1: They let them play. It wasn't one of those rigg cards.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Very smooth game.
- 55:19Speaker 5: You know, it's interesting in soccer that I've watched since
- 55:22Speaker 5: I've tried to watch some of the World Cup is
- 55:25Speaker 5: letting them play means dudes grabbing each other in the
- 55:28Speaker 5: collar a lot. Have you noticed how physic it's a
- 55:31Speaker 5: tackle or how they get physical in soccer. I didn't
- 55:34Speaker 5: know that you could get that hands on in soccer
- 55:36Speaker 5: and still be well not.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it was it was an approach that we're not
- 55:40Speaker 1: going to bail you out. You won't be talking about
- 55:44Speaker 1: us tomorrow as referees or organization. Because somewhere in sports,
- 55:51Speaker 1: every time something goes in a way that is against people,
- 55:55Speaker 1: the conspiracy thar starts. It's all rigged, it's all this.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I don't know if it's just the the sports fan.
- 56:08Speaker 1: I don't I'm I'm I'm man. I'm telling you this
- 56:11Speaker 1: has been an experience being on this side versus playing.
- 56:15Speaker 1: I've never seen such really pessimism. I can rarely see
- 56:22Speaker 1: the pandemonium except up on the build up, but from
- 56:29Speaker 1: the kickoff or to the tip and after, it's all pessimism.
- 56:34Speaker 1: It's all blame, it's all issue. You see people arguing.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I thought fans were just fans, but I realized that
- 56:44Speaker 1: really most of you walk around delusional. You do you're
- 56:50Speaker 1: you're you're willing, You're willing to create an idea for
- 56:55Speaker 1: your disappointment. How you cope, Oh, that's how coping look
- 57:03Speaker 1: As soon as oh, you know they had it in
- 57:05Speaker 1: you know, FIFA is this and that. I talked to
- 57:08Speaker 1: people to Argentina, behind the scenes, Argentina, the wins and
- 57:13Speaker 1: all kinds of different narratives.
- 57:20Speaker 5: And it's not that big of a stretch. It's not
- 57:22Speaker 5: that big of a stretch. We live in a time
- 57:24Speaker 5: now where we have seen any in all sports.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Corrupted and not enough for you to be making these calls. No,
- 57:35Speaker 1: we have seen human something will always be what it is.
- 57:42Speaker 1: You you're taking two cases, making it ninety eight cases.
- 57:47Speaker 1: It's just the two cases.
- 57:50Speaker 6: M hm.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Cases affected me so much that I can't I'm telling you.
- 57:59Speaker 1: But I'm telling you right, I'm telling you right now,
- 58:02Speaker 1: in two cases, because humans are in it, there's gonna
- 58:07Speaker 1: be two cases, that's always. You're right, but it has
- 58:11Speaker 1: nothing to do with the other ninety eight.
- 58:13Speaker 5: And because humans are in it, those two cases will
- 58:16Speaker 5: be enough for some people.
- 58:17Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. Some people.
- 58:21Speaker 7: Yeah, And the gambling has taken over because that another
- 58:24Speaker 7: world sport this week, the Open is going on, and
- 58:28Speaker 7: they have basically said their people. At the last couple
- 58:31Speaker 7: of events, the US Open, here, there's guys had money
- 58:35Speaker 7: on the line and they would swing houling in the
- 58:38Speaker 7: leader's back swings so they could it would affect their bet.
- 58:42Speaker 7: And so now they're watching for stuff like that that
- 58:44Speaker 7: these fans are doing that they're trying to get their
- 58:49Speaker 7: way in the game to causing them the bet to
- 58:51Speaker 7: go wrong or going there.
- 58:52Speaker 1: And if you're that pessimistic about it, then why are
- 58:57Speaker 1: you still plugged into it? It's crazy. I don't get
- 59:02Speaker 1: why people still join into things that they are I'm
- 59:06Speaker 1: not watching something that I go to bed and think
- 59:09Speaker 1: is rigged, then I just won't watch it. If something
- 59:17Speaker 1: is selling. That's why I don't watch reality TV, because
- 59:21Speaker 1: I would watch it if it was reality, if you
- 59:26Speaker 1: were telling me what I'm seeing. Nobody knows that i'm
- 59:29Speaker 1: seeing that's reality. But why would I watch a game
- 59:35Speaker 1: that I know is rigged or sport? Just wouldn't.
- 59:40Speaker 5: Is there a difference between knowing and being suspicious? Because
- 59:43Speaker 5: I still watch basketball, and I know.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Why you watch if it's suspicious.
- 59:49Speaker 5: Well, I'm saying there were times when I watched basketball
- 59:51Speaker 5: games and I didn't know I was watching games that
- 59:53Speaker 5: had been fixed. I didn't know I was watching games
- 59:56Speaker 5: that someone had colluded to corrupt the game, and then
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: I found out it was that one or two. And
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: I'm trying to be I'm trying to be optimistic. May
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: you know I'm being optimistic? Hey man, it's no because.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Because it's not because if you would have to have
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: that same spirit whether you win or lose, or the
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: team you win or lose. Long as the Jets win,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: it wasn't rigged. Oh no, no, it's never rigged to
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: the well, we're not talking about you as an individual.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: We're talking about how the world cuts up sports. If
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: the if the Jets was winning, no Jet fan sees
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: it as a rig The Seattle Seahawks do not see
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: it's fair and square until I lose and see I
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: look at it, bigger, lose, it's in the final. We'll
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: be right back. Cookie is cool, Ki, but the Maxic
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: weirder and you think because don't go away?
- 1:01:04Speaker 10: Or of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne Gambidios comming
- 1:01:07Speaker 10: up next.
- 1:01:10Speaker 23: Choosing to buy a gun was not a decision I
- 1:01:12Speaker 23: took lightly, but with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:01:15Speaker 23: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:01:18Speaker 23: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own
- 1:01:20Speaker 23: home too.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Me aware your napkins, not that drawer unless anyone needs
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: a gun now.
- 1:01:30Speaker 23: I always locked my gun to keep everyone safe. Visit
- 1:01:33Speaker 23: infamilyfire dot org to learn how to store your guns
- 1:01:36Speaker 23: more securely. Brought to you by Brady and the AD Council.
- 1:01:39Speaker 24: I ever tried balancing a dozen eggs in one hand,
- 1:01:41Speaker 24: or hopping on one foot, or maybe juggling cats while
- 1:01:44Speaker 24: riding the unicycle. Sounds ridiculous, right.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: But guess what.
- 1:01:49Speaker 24: That's exactly what texting while driving is like. Your human
- 1:01:52Speaker 24: brain only has the capacity to focus on one thing
- 1:01:54Speaker 24: at a time. So when you're behind the wheel, give
- 1:01:57Speaker 24: driving your undivided attention.
- 1:01:59Speaker 25: Don't drive distracted. A message brought to you by the

- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Enough is enough, I don't have any why so serious
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: suck and we hold the world ransom for excuse me
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: while I whip this out. Broadcasting Live and Atlanta, Georgia.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: This this is the Sports shot Ship with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: You may Vegan Man shown, Council fun comes.
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: It comes to look is it just going?
- 1:02:46Speaker 22: It's a I'm a dooer.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way you made. Welcome
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: back to the spot. Shock Shum, I'm a sportshock Wayne Candy,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Good morning, tell you out there listening Land the bad
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: producing the Building COMANCHEE Greg and the Building Big Kenny,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: the funny man himself in the building. We were talking
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: about which is this Sunday at three o'clock the World
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Cup will come to and m Big Kenny, show you
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: a note and for your listeners out there going into
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: this World Cup, because we were talking about corruption and
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: suspicion and all that. Top four teams going into Argentina, Spain,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: England and France. Those the four top teams going into it.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Who ended up in the semi final Argentina, Spain, France.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: So the Queen, where where is the Those are the
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: four teams that started at the top of the leaderboard.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: So we talked Monday, if you ended up being any
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: two pairs of.
- 1:04:05Speaker 15: The top four to be there, it was rigged for
- 1:04:08Speaker 15: it to be a chalk tournament. Oh gotcha, there's supposed
- 1:04:15Speaker 15: to be an upset in there. Cape Verde was supposed
- 1:04:17Speaker 15: to make a run to the semi finals. Morocco was
- 1:04:24Speaker 15: supposed to win the whole thing. I put a lot
- 1:04:26Speaker 15: of money on Morocco.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I'm just giving you what the you know, Big Kenny
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: said a Spanish speaking final. Yes, well, the other two
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: teams Portugal Brazil for the next two ranked teams, So
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: that's top six. So he was gonna end up with
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: basically some type of Spanish Europe versus South, so kind
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: of way. It really was just part of the deal
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: l Jassi and so we end up and that's where sports.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: That's why I said, we have to figure out where.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Whether it's the gambling, it's just that the fans just
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: can't imagine the outcome. We've talked about this before when
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: the guy from the what was the Texans a couple
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: of years ago was saying, oh man, it's rigged and fixed,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: and all I can do is go from what I
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: know to people. Nobody that I've ever sat down in
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: the room told me they got a call from somebody,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: got a script to tell me to do that. I
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: didn't get a strip. We did do the top ten plays.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Whether you hear that on TV, you do right to
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: ten plays and you hope that you can have a
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: drive that you can execute it in that order. Just
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: a details. But if somebody get a sack on play one,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: then that nullifies play two because play two was supposed
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: to be for second and five. Somebody got a sack,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: it's second in seventeen. So we offer that that's the
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: only script I ever received. I never got anything where okay,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I need you to miss this block on this play. Now,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: maybe you were in the game, or maybe you was
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: in with the mob, or you know that you were
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: doing it, but stop trying to make it like we
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: all got a script that went out on the field
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: to say, hey, lose this game. I never got a
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: score of how many points to score. Everything was just
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: win or lose. I don't from win to lose. It
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: had nothing to do with a score. Oh all, y'all
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: knew y'all was gonna blow them out about fifty two,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: and that wasn't I was hoping to win and get
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: up enough to get out the game. If you want
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: to know what I'm trying to do, I'm hoping that
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: we can go up enough points that by the mid
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: third coach like out, which typically never happens. But conspiracy
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: of sports, we'll see.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: I'm saying because we've seen times again where somebody knew something.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: It is the gambling. And now I understand that.
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: And that's what before, before gambling was accessible to all
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: of us, it was just people in organized crime.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Benefit That's what I'm saying. It still was the gambler
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: listen to what I'm saying, bad producer.
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: Part of what makes the conspiracy, part of why they
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: don't up until now they didn't want to release the
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: UFO files is because the general public can't handle but this.
- 1:07:38Speaker 7: Average don't have connections to the to the Mark mafia
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: or the cartel. They don't know, they don't have that
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: that that's there. The thought of that is for most people,
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: you never you don't know who that is. You're not
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: listening to what I'm saying.
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: What I'm trying to tell you is this, Before I
- 1:07:59Speaker 5: could start betting on prop bets and stuff like that,
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: for a game to even think about being fixed, it
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: had to be number one, a premier game. Wasn't nobody
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: betting on Mississippi Valley State. And now that that is possible,
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: everybody feels like because of the money involved, any game
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: can be corrupted.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: If I'm talking about most incorrupt people, and I'm saying
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: that the corrupt person watching something corruptly, I'm speaking of
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: where suspicion comes from now, and that's no suspicion, that's
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: just you looking from a corrupted lens and.
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: The gamblers they were at that time, you had to
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: go to the casino. We didn't have the internet.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Whatever. The gambler who you could prop bet at the cassette.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: You had all the bets.
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: But Kenny, we used to go to Vegas about ten
- 1:08:48Speaker 7: years ago the first weekend of the NCAA, uh well
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: fifteen years back. That was one thing because you could
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: go do all your bets for the NCAA tournament. Right then,
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: it was the only you can get your bets in.
- 1:09:01Speaker 7: You have to be at a casino.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: I played the lottery. If you think it's rigged, that's
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: if you think that they're going to let somebody from California,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: I don't play it no more. Hold on, if that's what,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: and that's what I'm saying, I stopped commit. If you
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: can see that somebody from California is already rigged to
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: win the lottery, why would you go get those people?
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: And I got a system to beat the rigging.
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: And when I played, I didn't know that the McDonald's
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: Monopoly game had been rigged already.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: I didn't know that. But now that I know it
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: can be rigged, I don't play it no more.
- 1:09:41Speaker 9: That's not what.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: But sit there and tune in by the package. Yeah,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: you know same people who think football is rigged still
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: buy the package because a system whatever that is, that
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: they can beat the rigging some people. I was just
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: sitting here telling you he feels that the lottery is
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: rigged so heavily on his heart it is that he
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: stopped playing. It had to because I was getting mad.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: So of all the suspicious people of sports would stop
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: watching it, why is it continue to going upward? One
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: day I'm going to be right, sure, I bet you
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: one day you are. One day we're gonna find out
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: that somebody did throw a game.
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: We are.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: That's humans. No matter what industry you go into, at
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: some point a crime is going to be committed in
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: that industry. There's going to be a doctor that does malpractice,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: there's going to be a dentist that do some kind
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: of sexual assault towards a young lady in the chair.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: That's human because humans are in it. But why are
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: you still going to that same tennis? If it was
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: that bad, or if you did you like that, and
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: that was that's I wouldn't watch If I thought, yeah,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: why would I take my time, get in my car
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: and drive and go see England Argentina? If I thought
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: I was watching some rig because I need some snaps.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: If I already knew it was going to be Instagram,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: if I knew it was going to be Argentina, then
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: I would have placed the bed Las Vegas. Little League coach,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: excuse me, not little league coach, but little League Booster,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: the president of the Booster club steals money? Heard that before?
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Why is when the when you had the Boosters, why
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: wouldn't you find out what they did? It's never for
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: like heart surgery, nobody was it never as opposed to
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: I'm saying, what what what did this person where you
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: find out stealing the money? Money?
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: I was trying to feed some underprivileged kids. They mama
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: was sick, and it's always I got rims on my car.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I got on a little trip to because you just said,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: because human, you know what I'm saying, But why is it?
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Why were we never here?
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: Because because why would I take advantage of you for
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: something that makes sense, that would be responsible? I mean,
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: because if I was going to be responsible, I just
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: take my own money and we have no more robin hoods.
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: I want to look at I'm as steal but I'm
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: not gonna be.
- 1:12:41Speaker 15: Trying to law with my own I mean I would
- 1:12:45Speaker 15: rather ball with someone else's money or money that I
- 1:12:50Speaker 15: got in a different way. I'm not going to uh
- 1:12:54Speaker 15: do sensible things with and this is this is what
- 1:12:59Speaker 15: I do, owney.
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: It used to be a time when people picked the lane.
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: You were either civilian or you were criminal. Now criminals
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: stole as a means to it end. This how I'm
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: gonna get my bills paid. This how I feed my kids.
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: When the insurance man come, this is how I pay him.
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: But now you just looking for supplemental income. So you
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: got a good job, You just lazy. You don't want
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: to get a side hustle. And now your side hustle
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: becomes being the booster parents. And then gave me two
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: hundred and fifty dollars apiece, and they don't really know
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: what I'm doing with this money, so why not get
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: me a watch? And then somebody go, that's a nice watch.
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: Hey where are the T shirts? And now you look
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: stupid because again you just wanting to take advantage of
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: the situation. You're not a criminal. You're just taking advantage
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: of people. And that's because they don't have access to
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: the information.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: I can you come stand before me, your defense attorney
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: tells me and show was me documentation you took to
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: seventeen hundred dollars to pay Georgia State. He's showing me
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: as a judge, I can work with you. You're wrong,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: so I gotta hell you. But you took the seventeen hundred.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: Dollars and gave it to george State and your baby
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: in her last semester four points seven waited GPA. She
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: got a four point seven waitedt GPA Judge International back
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: of Lords certification.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Man, I ain't you're stealing my shoes because your kid
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: doesn't have some shoes. I can go down and tell
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: law enforcement.
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: I don't want to press charge, but I got the
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: seventeen hundred up to my ear like a phone on
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: Instagram talking about bands.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: Like Man, all you had to do was ask me.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: I wouldn't save you the shoes spind that. But you're
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: showing me my kid don't have no shoes, but you're
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: telling me you did it to go blow it. Yeah
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: at Magic City. Yeah all the pet I think the
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: charges should be increased double yeah. I'm buying all of
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: them will be bad. More to Sports Job show. Right

- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Well, James still here, man. I'm sorry, James Brolyn, I

- 1:21:46Speaker 5: the first two gonna get clean handwork.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: I'm saying now, I'm.
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: Gonna try and keep it at the shoulders with the
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: first two, but the third one getting involved and then
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: we're gonna have to get the south side on them.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Y'all gonna have to back up. Talk to your lady
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: about this favorite Will Ferrell movie, Badducer. You already had
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: George which one?
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: Yeah, Man, I like his anchorman, I like I love
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: the an Okay, okay man semi pro.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that is Big Kenny Uh Old School, Yeah, fright,
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: the tank. I'm a Ricky, I'm a Talladega Knights. Yeah,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: don't you put that spider monkey on your Pharoh. You
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: guys have been in the car bad Bobcat first, you
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: Big Kenny Uh and the Bad Duce has been going
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: at it about storyline of Young Miami, y'all. I've been
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: firing weapons at each other. We talked about it real briefly.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: I already know Kmanchi Greggs here. Here's the thing with
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: Young Miami from my prospective, Young Ammy, a young rapper.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: A lot of people the last couple of weeks have
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: been talking about her and her lyrics. The older schools
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: that defended I like to go back and talk about
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: is wrong for older people, especially old rappers, to condemn
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: her because they had that kind of music. The new
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: school is saying that it is leading a certain mindset
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: of kids. All I can say is you oppose to
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: learn with life. Hip hop did introduce this kind of
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: storyline that was in your face of negative street life,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: street life own that. Now, don't don't try to make
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: before that hip hop kind of romanced it music before
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: that kind of condemned it should have been out there.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: I was gonna say, when hip hop first came around,
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: it was street life horror stories, and then it became
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: the glorification and benefit of street life.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: And for those that feel like people that might have
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: used to make that music. I know Bap Duca was
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: condemning some rapper who used to make that kind of music.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: You're supposed to live and learn, and maybe that person
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: realized that they had a bad effect, they sent out
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: a message because of their need to be famous or
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: rich that really didn't drive things forward. And we see
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: that sometimes. That's why I'm always on here, Hey, don't
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: mess up your career to the point that when you
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: get to want to be the vice president of the Sixers,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: they don't take you serious. You know, if they on
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: the fringe, well I can still pull you back in
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: and let you because you get mad. So you're supposed
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: to live and learn. So maybe what we were putting
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: it out there was something that that groups saw like, man,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: you know, we started the wrong You know, if ice
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Cube and those guys from NWA came out like you
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: know what, we started a wrong kind of and ideology.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: We thought y'all could handle right just this, but y'all
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: really wanted to put on embrace it, and live it.
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: And sports Jock it's even more personal for me because
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: through personal behavior, once I decided to be different, I
- 1:25:35Speaker 5: try and get people advice and I'll have people go,
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: I can't believe you're the one trying to tell people
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: what not to do and how wrong that is when
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: you used to And then sports Jock just said, you're
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: supposed to learn. I'm trying to keep you from getting
- 1:25:49Speaker 5: your head bumped like mine did a thousand times. But
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: people somehow see that as being insulting. I should let
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: you run headlong into a mistake.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: And in the world of sports, you're more like to
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: get a athlete to come speak the kids that fell
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: down and got up. Those are the guys that typically
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: coaches and stuff like to call to come speak to
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: their kids. The guy that can kind of tell them
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: how they thought this. They don't really like the person
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: that don't have the whole you know, year three, I
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: snored it cocaine and went to jail. They liked the
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: redemption story. Yeah, hey, how you doing. I was all
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: American and I'm still in All American. This is my
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: wife for forty seven years. They like more redemption. So
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: and I got three old money. They won't. What's up twin?
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: I used to have that glad. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: We locked there, my grandmama trapped out the door twenty
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: four sailing like deck. But then God, my player pot
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: But then God and everybody goes, wow, we'll.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: Be back more than sports jock right there.
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: With the parre that middle the never then now with the.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: Tragedy Now, don't go away.
- 1:27:13Speaker 10: More of the Sports Josh Show with Wayne Gandia stumming
- 1:27:16Speaker 10: up next.
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: The more you listen to your kids, the closer you'll be.
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: So we ask kids, what do you want your parents
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: to hear?
- 1:27:27Speaker 6: I feel sometimes that I'm not listening to I would
- 1:27:30Speaker 6: just want you to listen to me more often and
- 1:27:32Speaker 6: evaluate situations with me and lead me towards success.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: We're not adults, so just just be there and like, listen.
- 1:27:41Speaker 13: I just want someone to yat to and I just
- 1:27:43Speaker 13: feel like I'll be fine, Like if someone just hears me.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: Talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk.
- 1:27:49Speaker 6: And you're doing a really good job. And I don't
- 1:27:52Speaker 6: think that's all that. I don't know, and I know
- 1:27:54Speaker 6: sometimes we get into it and it's just hard on
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: both of us. And I'll try to understand me more
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: and I'll try to do the same.
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: Listening is a form of love. Find resources to help
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: you support your kids and their emotional well being a

- 1:28:25Speaker 9: I can even order lunch while doing my homework, but
- 1:28:28Speaker 9: I can't use my phone while driving. A distracted driver
- 1:28:32Speaker 9: is one of the leading causes of death in the
- 1:28:34Speaker 9: United States. So when it comes to driving, please don't
- 1:28:37Speaker 9: be a multitasker.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: Don't drive distracted.

- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: Wayne Candy. Some of y'all go hit yourself in the
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: mirror criticizing Rihannahn wasn't giving y'all enough energy last weekend.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: She's like nine kids in That is energy for a
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: woman that don't gave birth nine times. She wasn't moving
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: y'all want from me. At the jay Z.
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: Concert, even my concert, she wasn't moving and I said
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: she She said she was rusty.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Okay, so she ain't been saying hold on, stop, stop stop, realize.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Rihanna's been.
- 1:30:06Speaker 7: With her husband asap Rocky Stock Like they were just
- 1:30:09Speaker 7: in Charlotte hanging out a couple of weeks ago at
- 1:30:11Speaker 7: the food line out.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: And people were going crazy. Rihanna raising rock at the
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: food line.
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: This the problem with the culture, loss a focus. It
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: ain't Rihanna's nine kids, It ain't the on tour she owned.
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: Rihanna is a multi billionaire. When the last time you've
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: seen Elon Musk give you energy on stage? When the
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: last time you seen Zuckerberg or Gates or what's the
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: Amazon boy name? Any of them shaky, shaky naked naked naked,
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: they don't because they're billionaires.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: She's just out there helping her, pottning them. She just
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: showed up for you, twin.
- 1:30:54Speaker 9: This ain't.
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: I don't need go Jay my Man's now. I don't
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: need this. Not entertain me. Re read what I looked
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: like a step and two. I don't have time for rehearsal.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: Show me how it worked. Real your Mama food line
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: down South. Show me how still relevant with reread is trick?
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: Better have my money money? That's it? What about the
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: wild thoughts though? What about it? What about it?
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: My wild thoughts are a four point seven billion dollars
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: a year.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: I don't know what y'all want from me. I want energy, enthusiasm,
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: our body. Okay, work, work, and go ahead. You know
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: the songs online? Play this on y'all. Lucky I didn't
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: hologram this stuff here.
- 1:31:45Speaker 5: I could have sent you a zoom I could have
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: sent you a zoom link. I'm a billionaires avatar. That
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: would have been good enough. I could have sent you
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: the avatar prenization.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: Given a lot of energy, it didn't sound like she
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: had been rehearsing a lot because she was she was called,
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: or she wasn't rehearsing, just happened to be.
- 1:32:07Speaker 5: She hadn't rehearsed at all. You ever raised nine kids
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: with asap rocky note how much energy you think you
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: have at the end of the day?
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: You might? You might if I used the debt to night.
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: She got nine.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Babies, and with asap rocky ten kids, you're saying they
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: got it all mixed up.
- 1:32:23Speaker 5: They got it all mixed up as sap rocky like
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: a tenth child. That woman tired. Yeah she a billionaire. Yeah,
- 1:32:31Speaker 5: Kim Kardashian wasn't there.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: Tim Hardaway Senior thinks that active NBA player shouldn't have podcasts.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Is that something for us to start pondering? Is that
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: something to But he was one like he feels like
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: David Stern as the commissioner, and he just you know,
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: feels like he's not saying guys, sheouldn't go into meeting.
- 1:32:56Speaker 5: He's talking about doing your career or shouldn't be having
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: these outlets. It's a it's a different time, he said.
- 1:33:08Speaker 5: He said, like, you know, with David Stern, he wouldn't Uh,
- 1:33:13Speaker 5: he would strongly discourage that.
- 1:33:16Speaker 15: I would agree. I mean even with guys who tried
- 1:33:19Speaker 15: to do music, you know in the nineties, in the
- 1:33:22Speaker 15: two thousands, I remember he uh squashed Allan Iverson's album
- 1:33:27Speaker 15: which has since been released, but at the time, like.
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: He was against that.
- 1:33:35Speaker 15: So I think it's just it's a different mentality between
- 1:33:38Speaker 15: David Stern and Adam Silver as far as how players.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: What they do outside of the game. Uh, can you
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: can you see why he would say that based on
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: what the landscape. Why because it basically.
- 1:33:56Speaker 7: It was a novelty to be able to talk to
- 1:33:58Speaker 7: a player that was actually active in playing.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: You had you been there at the locker room. The
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: media it was, and no one really did.
- 1:34:07Speaker 7: If they did a story during the off season, it
- 1:34:10Speaker 7: was when the magazine Sports Illustrated or Rolling Star or
- 1:34:13Speaker 7: something in that manner.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: This these guys are getting out here, and you.
- 1:34:18Speaker 15: Just, yeah, it's it's players trying to control the narrative,
- 1:34:22Speaker 15: control the narrative and their brand and the culture and
- 1:34:25Speaker 15: to bring it up to like they are this, And
- 1:34:30Speaker 15: I mean, I think it's too much, I really do, Kenny.
- 1:34:35Speaker 15: Do you think some of that stuff is that you
- 1:34:38Speaker 15: trying to have an NBA career in real time? And
- 1:34:40Speaker 15: some of this stuff is we need save for post retirement.
- 1:34:43Speaker 12: Yes.
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: You you keep on talking about what we did last
- 1:34:45Speaker 5: night in Philly and my wife wasn't supposed to know.
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: Eas keep talking about all of this stuff that, yeah,
- 1:34:52Speaker 5: man and he get wild in Vegas.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: We were supposed to be in lay over in Utah.
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: I did Dray Bond wasn't supposed to Well, he told
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: you that he didn't know that you was going that's
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: that's his show by himself. He don't have guests. I wasn't.
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: Okay, so he don't. He don't invite anybody. No, no,
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: not that he doesn't invite it, but they don't want to.
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: They don't want to be on the show with him.
- 1:35:25Speaker 5: Come on, man, and on only podcast. Now, that's the
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: only thing I read. He wasn't saying, like you know
- 1:35:30Speaker 5: how they sit in at the the studio. He saw
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: about the podcast he said. He specifically said podcast because
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: of what drives podcast type content is that relacious. I
- 1:35:43Speaker 5: want to let you know what other people don't know,
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: first peak, first hand. He could inside her stuff, and
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: you ain't supposed to be telling insider stuff.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: When we was in.
- 1:35:53Speaker 7: Atlanta, you couldn't get Jeff T to say nothing in
- 1:35:56Speaker 7: the locker room all those years.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: And and now he's I mean he's but this is
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: but this was his career. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:36:04Speaker 7: But you would think I thought he was a quiet,
- 1:36:06Speaker 7: smart kid from Indiana, just well long to play basketball.
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: The fact that he was quiet made him the smart kid.
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: That's that's what I'm saying. I don't understand this. Hey,
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: let me tell you what I did that. I wasn't
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: supposed to do just last night. This thing it ain't passed,
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: no statute of limitations or nothing. You were supposed to
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: be in the room on curfew last night, and now
- 1:36:29Speaker 5: you're talking about we got in from Vegas at four am.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: I don't understand that part of the culture. Jalen Brown,
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: who recently was traded for from the Celtics to the
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Philadelphia Sixers, a lot coming out about him. I did
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: read where he was talking about he felt like athletes
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: should have equity in teams. And my reference was that
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: if I was talking to him and they talk about
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: him and him being very smart or at least being
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: in his mind very woke, is that something that can
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: have a team start splitting away from you. It sure
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: can not so much as a player, but maybe they
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: find that your leadership or you're always questioning their plan
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: of action. That does come up where that kind of
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: rubs owners and coaches wrong. But from the standpoint of equity,
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: I would tell him that you got to always remember
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: in sports, you're an independent contractor. You're really an independent contractor.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: You're your own company that we're hiring to come over
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: to do a certain job. For us. Sometimes that job
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: can be a year, sometimes it can be twenty years.
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: But each and every year they're looking at you as
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: just like a person you would bring out to your house.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: If he doesn't live here. Now, he doesn't get to
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: leave with some stake in your house because I just
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: brought you out here because I decided to remodel.
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: I had some people coming like that. You don't get
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: no equity in someone's home. Just had garage damaged them.
- 1:38:19Speaker 5: People came and worked for about two weeks at my house,
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: never came inside. They never should I have offered them
- 1:38:25Speaker 5: some sort of privileges at the house because they I
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: mean they worked there in the truck and go to
- 1:38:31Speaker 5: the bathroom up the street. They were there about five
- 1:38:34Speaker 5: six hours a time when they came, and they were
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: there probably about ten days, and never once did they
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: cross the threshold of the house. I don't know how
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: they ate. I don't know how they drank or went
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: to the bathroom. Those weren't my concerns. We had a
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: business arrangement, and as a.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Player, sometimes you think you're building, but you quickly and
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: just like I always said about college, sure, I'm glad
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: guys are getting money My biggest thing with the whole
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: nil is not the money, it's the transfer. I think
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: if they could fix the transfer thing right, I think
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: that it needs to have a stiffness to it, that
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: it's fair to programs and everybody else. But you, I
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: didn't build the Auburn brand. When you go to Google,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: you didn't build Google. You just contributed, right, You just enhanced,
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: Like I'm saying, like building a house. The worker just
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: came there to enhance the house and swap. Ain't no swin.
- 1:39:43Speaker 5: So they gave you access to the brand because we
- 1:39:46Speaker 5: have enimized you in your effort, because you have a.
- 1:39:49Speaker 7: General contract that he could hire somebody come out to
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: put the frame up. Then you had a brickman come up,
- 1:39:54Speaker 7: you see.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: So I would offer him to look at it. Like
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: I get what he's saying. And maybe with how much
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: money you might have some owners going forward. Yeah, start
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: being like, hey, I'll give you four years, three hundred
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: million and two percent of the team. You know, something
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: like that question he got a question for he thinks
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: about his cousin worked for Amazon. It doesn't work like that.
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: It doesn't work, I'm saying, is that is that something
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: with his cousin got some stock. That's that's what they
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: do in corporate America.
- 1:40:27Speaker 7: But that's now this ain't Is that something to what
- 1:40:29Speaker 7: Kawhi Leonard sort of going through right now with that
- 1:40:33Speaker 7: the owner gave him equity or something into the team.
- 1:40:37Speaker 15: And now the Clippers, Yeah what what's that whole situation?
- 1:40:41Speaker 15: That that was them trying to go around their.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: Different thing? Okay, all right, all right, that's different being
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: able to give him money above what they could. Yeah.
- 1:40:52Speaker 15: Well yeah, going around the salary cap to give him
- 1:40:55Speaker 15: extra money, extra money.

- 1:43:30Speaker 1: Big Kenny. Before we go any further in the show,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: which has been a fast moving show here today, any
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: uh any hits on line.
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: That we Yeah, our loyal online listeners have been with
- 1:43:42Speaker 5: us since the beginning of the first Our Sports Jock.
- 1:43:45Speaker 5: And when you were talking about the strain on one's
- 1:43:50Speaker 5: health when football season comes around, you said, how manch
- 1:43:54Speaker 5: Greg keep going taking them tests?
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Now some of them tests we wasn't related to football.
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: If you know what I'm talking about, it command you
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: greg' me be living an moral life.
- 1:44:02Speaker 5: But Jared Lloyd said, xanax klonopin bourbon and weed on
- 1:44:06Speaker 5: deck NFL twenty twenty six, twenty seven, and I told
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: him that sounded like every season in my house when
- 1:44:13Speaker 5: bad producer was talking. I don't know which time, but
- 1:44:16Speaker 5: anytime he talk it'll make someone like Ravishing Ray say
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: TV is difficult for bad producer, but you know most
- 1:44:23Speaker 5: things are difficult for the bad producer. So Uncle Charlie
- 1:44:26Speaker 5: wanted to say that a real All Star game and
- 1:44:29Speaker 5: no one watched, and he was confused because you didn't
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: say who won. Then we actually did say that the
- 1:44:34Speaker 5: American League won, and he said, oh lordy, Argentina and
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: Spain in the playoffs. Better hope that Ice won't have
- 1:44:41Speaker 5: the headlines the next morning. And based on the political
- 1:44:44Speaker 5: climate right now, we can't say that that's not a possibility.
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: And then for bad Producer's conspiracy theory about the lottery,
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: he said, man, I just have to pay two dollars
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: to win a half billion, although the odds are very
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: high against me. I gotta do it with bad producers.
- 1:45:00Speaker 5: So Uncle Charlie say, even if it hit is rigged,
- 1:45:03Speaker 5: he gonna take his chance.
- 1:45:05Speaker 7: Possibly we'll see Uncle Charlie come from the era of
- 1:45:11Speaker 7: my my dad's age old seventy that my dad was
- 1:45:15Speaker 7: still allow you about seventy six that they believe.
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: They were like, hey, if you ain't in it, you
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: can't win it.
- 1:45:20Speaker 5: So that for a chance of wearing a couple of
- 1:45:24Speaker 5: billion dollars cheap mate, Yeah, more dollars.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: It's a bar. I don't know what Uncle Charlie talking about.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: They don't.
- 1:45:30Speaker 7: They're up the rounded up and and all this other something.
- 1:45:34Speaker 7: If you want to pay half or you want to
- 1:45:36Speaker 7: take it all at one time, they charge.
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: You for everything change and I'm sure in there somewhere
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: it's a two dollars option. And the people still getting
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: a two dollars well, you the one ain't getting them.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: Athletic first time athletic director John Davis has signed an
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: agreement releasing the Georgia Bulldogs from a twenty twenty eight game.
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: Make sure you understand twenty twenty eight game that fam
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: you had signed with the Bulldogs to have in which
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: they would have been compensated six hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: But the new athletic director, John Davis decided, since Georgia
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: wanted out of that deal, that they would allow Georgia
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: to get out without having to pay them. Because At first,
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: the agreement said basically they would have to pay the
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: six fifty if they canceled. This could be a move
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: that John Davis, as the athletic director, sees as something
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: he needs to do to continue to be able to
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: sign fam. You as big as Georgia is, you go
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: out and team seated. You wouldn't let Georgia out. Then
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: that could hurt you from other big schools. Yeah, it's
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: still trying to get those games. Get those games. You
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: don't want to sour that in any kind of way.
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: They were showing that Famus athlete. The budget for the team,
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: it's like twelve million a season, where but that is
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: about five six percent they're giving up. But I kept thinking,
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: it's his first year. This is not a deal he signed.
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: He doesn't want to upset the status quo with a
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: team like Georgia, right because I want to be able
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: to I want people to see that we are of
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: good faith and we still play Miami and Florida and
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: Florida State, maybe those kind of down the road. I
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: want to keep those relationships up and to try to
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: act like these teams aren't connected to a degree. They're competitors,
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: but they're connected. I want to keep this going, you know.
- 1:47:58Speaker 7: I want to know it's what possibly initiate Georgia to
- 1:48:03Speaker 7: want to pull with going forward.
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: Is this something they down that they see.
- 1:48:09Speaker 15: It's gonna I think there's gonna be. And you probably
- 1:48:11Speaker 15: see this more with teams with their schedule, especially with football,
- 1:48:15Speaker 15: that if the conferences that are getting bigger, but they're
- 1:48:19Speaker 15: going to play a set amount of games, then we
- 1:48:22Speaker 15: ain't got enough room for family.
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: We can't. We can't.
- 1:48:25Speaker 5: We can't mess around and mess up our strength of
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: schedule when it comes time to getting in the championship.
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: So now again, our dearly departed friend of the show
- 1:48:37Speaker 5: Sterling Stewart used to explain to me all the time,
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: this is the catch twenty two for athletic directors. Do
- 1:48:44Speaker 5: I nail the coffin shut on our program with this
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: one act? Now we can secure the bag for this
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: one season, But how does that affect us going forward?
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: And who knows?
- 1:48:59Speaker 5: We might not be able to put a famu on
- 1:49:01Speaker 5: the schedule in twenty twenty eight, but we might be
- 1:49:04Speaker 5: able to get him for twenty thirty and twenty thirty
- 1:49:07Speaker 5: two guaranteed if you give us this break, And that
- 1:49:11Speaker 5: might allow some other people to want to play ball.
- 1:49:13Speaker 5: But do you think that part of the reluctance and
- 1:49:16Speaker 5: the fervor to paint him as uninformed and a novice
- 1:49:23Speaker 5: that a lot of people touted his inexperience like he
- 1:49:26Speaker 5: had made a bad move.
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: Do you think that has to do with the.
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: Mindset that maybe Georgia, being the bigger, predominantly white institution,
- 1:49:38Speaker 5: was taking advantage of the HBCU, or he was allowing
- 1:49:41Speaker 5: the HBCU to be taken advantage of by Georgia.
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: I don't see it, no. I think that's when you
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: start Colorge. You distored the business part right, because it's
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: all business, as I said, need to do business. I'm
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: gonna I'm right now. I'm still on the level where
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: the Georgia level teams are gonna be the two or
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: three games that I need a season. I don't want
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: to mess that up. And maybe I can add Georgia
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: to play the girls' basketball and the men's basketball teams.
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: I can keep that relationship. I want to keep this relationship,
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: but this is two years from now. You know he's
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: thinking more long term and not just if this game.
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: And that's why I made sure I said twenty twenty eight.
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: If this was twenty twenty six, I can see why
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: you're jumping at him like, oh, that was a bad move.
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: But a game that's in the future to be able
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: to continue business and set up other things down the
- 1:50:51Speaker 1: road definitely is more important than to start this off
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: where that becomes and to know the landscape of college
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: football the way is structuring. They are may not be
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: allowing you to play the HBCU anymore as far as
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: strength the scheduling. Maybe they're really only allowing you to
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: go down to the app States or that level of competition.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: Whereas they used to discount, they give you two games
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: where it don't really matter. They didn't care, they didn't
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: weigh that in a strift schedule. Now they're gonna need
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: at least a Georgia state level team at fbs A
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: levels and so. But but I would have to read that,
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: But I didn't. I didn't. You seem to be an
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: issue because the game was two years away.
- 1:51:48Speaker 7: And I think you're correct about the ad part. I
- 1:51:51Speaker 7: bet you if we watched the next two or three years,
- 1:51:54Speaker 7: Georgia every other sport basketball, ladies, softball, volleyball, FAMU is
- 1:51:58Speaker 7: on that schedule getting come in to ath in some
- 1:52:01Speaker 7: kind of way, and they're taking care of it.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: Don't go away.
- 1:52:15Speaker 10: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gandy is
- 1:52:18Speaker 10: coming up next.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: When I smoke, I get lost in the music.
- 1:52:24Speaker 12: I'd like to isolate each instrument, the rhythmic bass, the
- 1:52:28Speaker 12: harmonies on the piano with sticky melody.
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: Hey, careful bad, there's someone crossing the streets.
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: Sorry, I didn't see him there. If you feel different,
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: you drive different. Don't drive high. It's dangerous and illegal
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: everywhere unless it's from NITZA and the ad Council. And
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: now back to the sports John Wayne Gandy, It's time
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: to the school.
- 1:52:58Speaker 22: More we put it spent on life and sports and
- 1:53:02Speaker 22: how they intermingled on The Sports jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:53:11Speaker 16: Romaine, No Kimmys, Toots, curls go round the outside, Bowny outside,
- 1:53:17Speaker 16: Browny Outside. Both curls go round the outside, Brownie outside,
- 1:53:26Speaker 16: Brownie Outside.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: Welcome back to this What Jock Show. Justin Bieber, Shakira,
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: Madonna and bt S. Who is bt S? K pop group?
- 1:53:42Speaker 20: Oh a K pop group.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: They are expected to be the World Cup final halftime
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: show reports is I guess this could break soccer rules.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: As I said, this is something that I was trying
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: to find out about that soccer has not really had.
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: Like I was informed and watching the game, and I
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: had been thinking it the whole World Cup when I
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: saw those hydration breaks, and somebody sat there and they
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: told me, oh, that's new. That's not really how it
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: works in the europe League and all those That is
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: just something they've come to be able to get advertisers.
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: And I told them, oh, that's a test. That's just
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: a tester to see how this works.
- 1:54:25Speaker 15: If they can do They do that on the college level,
- 1:54:27Speaker 15: but not for like advertising, not for television purposes.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: And so now they're going to do like a halftime show,
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: which I think the halftime in soccer is what fifteen minutes. Yeah,
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: so they're going to be rushed. I don't know that
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: they're going to extend it like the NFL. The NFL
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: kind of controls because you know, halftime at the NFL
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: for football is fifteen minutes. They're gonna bring out the
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, make it thirty.
- 1:55:02Speaker 7: Well, they're gonna probably bring out that Battle of the
- 1:55:04Speaker 7: Band stage for the soccer, the little small one that
- 1:55:08Speaker 7: you will see and roll out with one golf cart
- 1:55:11Speaker 7: not gonna be a big production.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: Well are they gonna world What do you mean more
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: than that? But you said fifteen minutes, and it's gotta
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: be quick, it's gonna be it's the World Cup. It's
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: gonna be longer.
- 1:55:26Speaker 5: Listen, wait, wait, wait, wait now wait now, right now,
- 1:55:29Speaker 5: we're talking about business and established realities. First of all,
- 1:55:32Speaker 5: we're doing something that has never been done before. We're
- 1:55:35Speaker 5: not gonna half ass do it.
- 1:55:37Speaker 7: Number when Michael first first, it wasn't no big production.
- 1:55:41Speaker 7: It was because of what Michael. He disappeared and then
- 1:55:44Speaker 7: came back. That was the biggest production part of that.
- 1:55:47Speaker 5: But you got BTS who else, BTS Shakira, Justin Bieber
- 1:55:54Speaker 5: and Madonna. When you talk about international acts, that's got
- 1:55:59Speaker 5: to be the mount rushmore of top number one selling
- 1:56:04Speaker 5: pop artists from every continent, BTS, Shakira, Justin Bieber and Madonna.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: Just in case America ain't fully.
- 1:56:13Speaker 5: On board, they bought two generations worth of top ten
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: catalogs that have spanned decades. Let's be serious, they're gonna
- 1:56:21Speaker 5: give them the thirty minutes bruh, and you'll never miss it.
- 1:56:25Speaker 5: You'll never miss that. You're not even that connected to soccer.
- 1:56:28Speaker 5: Where you missing that time? They doing this to get
- 1:56:31Speaker 5: to the bag. We gonna get these last little bit
- 1:56:34Speaker 5: of advertising dollars tonight, and we're gonna get every single
- 1:56:38Speaker 5: dollar left on the table.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: They even selling the grass and I'm not sure. And
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: for how the super Bowl registers it has become its own.
- 1:56:46Speaker 1: The super Bowl halftime has become its own entity to
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: where people sit around in anticipation of who it's going
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: to be. For the last five six years, we've had
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: strong debates like we're picking the next president or the
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: next pope. Like people just are happy or unhappy. Oh well,
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: I mean America, they came here, you were, you was
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: a sniper, somebody you went to bad over Bad Bunny
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: and ain't never heard one of his song. I didn't
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: go to bad for bad Bunny.
- 1:57:20Speaker 5: You America wanted bad Bunny Black. America was on something.
- 1:57:24Speaker 5: He needed to be the man, and they never heard it.
- 1:57:28Speaker 7: Well, but I wasn't like I was just like just
- 1:57:30Speaker 7: sitting like, hey, look, let me tell you something, my
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: good friend. I'll say, you don't eat the biggest this
- 1:57:38Speaker 7: man walked up to me, ate to it, drop some
- 1:57:40Speaker 7: of that future with bad buddy stop and that ain't
- 1:57:42Speaker 7: even his go to so you know, listen, half this
- 1:57:46Speaker 7: time I was on the badtime shows bring people to sport.
- 1:57:51Speaker 7: This is what they don't do the podcast because they
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: always telling stuff that ain't supposed to be tall.
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: I caught it and we we wasn't you don't like what?
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: You don't call you don't like this? This is by
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: Tim Hardaway. Don't like this.
- 1:58:07Speaker 5: Any time you expressed that you don't like the future.
- 1:58:10Speaker 5: Hold on, I've been to a future concert, I mean
- 1:58:12Speaker 5: some sports. And then he said, don't do me like that.
- 1:58:16Speaker 5: He said, don't do me like that like that, don't
- 1:58:19Speaker 5: do me like that what was saying? And I called
- 1:58:23Speaker 5: it and I was like this historyson.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: Right, he come on and he emphasized that good friend
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: thing a little too strong too. It was too much
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: like got a complicity of mean y'all y'all cold conspirators.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: That that's what it sounds like a court. That's what
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: you don't know what, uh, but definitely you feel as
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: I said, And we've debated and we'll continue to debate, hopefully.
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: I prayed it sports and it's all over the place,
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: whether you've got players arguing about it, owners arguing about it,
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: the modifications of rules, the time frame, because that's one thing,
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: like you know, when you were used to something like
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: a soccer fan, you used to starting at three, being
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: back in your car at five clock start, you know,
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: So this would be a to me, that's the biggest test.
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: Can best be okay that now with a long halftime
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: at least for the World Cup because I don't think
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: it's going to filter into regular.
- 1:59:36Speaker 5: Oh yeah, and for the finals of the World Cup
- 1:59:38Speaker 5: because they're holding the finals in the United States. When

- 1:59:56Speaker 5: in the next one to at least at least at
- 1:59:58Speaker 5: just the World Cup final final. Yeah, this is a
- 2:00:01Speaker 5: great testing ground for it. Yeah, great time to test.
