Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Whist Stockings and they are were a whizz.
- 0:10Speaker 1: So yeah, it's too bad, but what did you expect.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Whist Souls Twine, blow It, thank You. Coming up, we'll
- 0:20Speaker 1: have Indiana Beat writer Scott Agnes talking about the fever
- 0:24Speaker 1: and Kaitlyn Clark and he covers the pacers and the
- 0:27Speaker 1: fever and he's been doing an awesome job of covering
- 0:30Speaker 1: Kaitlyn Clark and so you'll hear that in a bit.
- 0:33Speaker 1: It's it's so irritating she had made the Olympic team,
- 0:35Speaker 1: but it's so good for her too because now again
- 0:39Speaker 1: she's the victim. She did get screwed. And then one
- 0:43Speaker 1: of the reports that we talked about with Scott two
- 0:45Speaker 1: was that it said like a couple uh senior level
- 0:50Speaker 1: players on the team didn't want her to be a
- 0:51Speaker 1: part of the team because it may create some drama
- 0:54Speaker 1: from her fans whenever she doesn't get to play as much.
- 0:58Speaker 1: What was hilarious was it mayate drama, which is completely
- 1:01Speaker 1: a scenario that they've made up. And then also, since
- 1:05Speaker 1: when do we not allow people places because of what
- 1:07Speaker 1: their fans say and think? Like, why was that even
- 1:10Speaker 1: incorporated into the discussion. So, yeah, obviously I've been affected
- 1:16Speaker 1: greatly by this.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Was your weekend ruined?
- 1:19Speaker 1: I won't say it was ruined, but I was. I
- 1:21Speaker 1: was pretty irritated by it. I tried to buy a
- 1:23Speaker 1: few Kaitlyn Clark cards on eBay and they's so there's
- 1:27Speaker 1: they're going for so high. Like I've been trying to
- 1:29Speaker 1: get some signed ones, Like how much do you think?
- 1:31Speaker 1: I know? I don't have to think on average, I guess.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I meant I can tell you the ones that I
- 1:37Speaker 1: missed out on. Would you like to hear those? Yes?
- 1:39Speaker 1: Because I can tell you what I bid and what
- 1:40Speaker 1: I did not get. So let's say I did buying. Okay,
- 1:48Speaker 1: this item got away on a Kaitlyn Clark twenty twenty
- 1:52Speaker 1: three Bowman you Best Auto. I bid five hundred dollars
- 1:56Speaker 1: and went for five twenty one. And I wasn't there
- 1:59Speaker 1: at the end because I probably would have put twenty
- 2:01Speaker 1: two more dollars in there, but I wasn't there at
- 2:03Speaker 1: the end. Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese dual, Audio duel Otto.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I bid five point fifty and it went for eight hundred. Well,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you weren't even close on that one. Here's another one.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Caitlin Clark psa ten Bowman auto Max bid seven fifties.
- 2:23Speaker 1: What I bid went for eight eighty nine. So I'm
- 2:25Speaker 1: just not in the mix. So but I'm not chasing hard.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Here's another one. I bid four oh five on this
- 2:33Speaker 1: one and it went for six ' ten. God dang,
- 2:37Speaker 1: it's wild because I'm not there at the end. So
- 2:39Speaker 1: I just make a bid and get away and hope
- 2:40Speaker 1: I get them.
- 2:41Speaker 4: So you just go back and check it till it'll
- 2:43Speaker 4: it'll poo oh, pop up, a little pop up, gotcha,
- 2:45Speaker 4: like a little little update.
- 2:46Speaker 1: But you thought about what my walkout song should be
- 2:49Speaker 1: from my unnamed thing that I am doing. Oh yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 1: we got it. I can't only say what it is yet.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I even asked the PR team at this certain thing
- 2:56Speaker 1: and they're like, you cannot say anything about it yet.
- 2:58Speaker 1: So do you have Bettie Buddy Holly by Weezer? That's
- 3:02Speaker 1: what I picked you.
- 3:03Speaker 5: I mean, you gotta do that, especially if you're gonna
- 3:05Speaker 5: wear your glasses right, which I figure you're gonna wear.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Have to see. Yeah, it's one fun thing about it.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I think that's a no brainer. Dude. That was what
- 3:11Speaker 1: I picked too, and it's.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Gotta be spread right up the OE. I look just
- 3:14Speaker 5: like Buddy Holly correct, not like, what are these hommies
- 3:18Speaker 5: doing my girl?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Like? Not that well you messed up those words, but yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 1: how's it go? Well's with these homies dissing my girl?
- 3:25Speaker 1: That's it, Kevin? What you pick?
- 3:26Speaker 3: I picked the Arkansas Fight song?
- 3:29Speaker 1: I mean it makes sense, but I guess you need
- 3:33Speaker 1: context around it. Yeah, but if you know, you know
- 3:36Speaker 1: the Arkansas, but nobody's gonna I'm telling you nobody I.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Know, but they're gonna be like, why is this guy
- 3:39Speaker 3: playing the Arkansas?
- 3:39Speaker 1: They're not gonna the Arkansas fight song? Oh I why?
- 3:42Speaker 5: K kay, you gotta get to the whole song. No,
- 3:46Speaker 5: but that's what that means, right you know? Yeah that's man.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I like that, Kevin. Ye, Yeah, not a bad one.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You guys won't here read Katie, so you missed out.
- 3:56Speaker 6: I was gonna say you should do the the Sam
- 3:58Speaker 6: Pittman walkout song. What's that the one where it's like
- 4:01Speaker 6: generals gather in their massive.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Oh so you're oh yes, so the Razorbacks come out
- 4:06Speaker 1: to Well? I played to the Cake version of its
- 4:10Speaker 1: war Pig. Yeah, do you know who it is? Yes,
- 4:12Speaker 1: Black Sabbath, Yeah, like Blake Sabbath, General Zen and Black Masses. Yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 1: that's a good one too. That's cool. I didn't know
- 4:23Speaker 1: what it was for.
- 4:23Speaker 7: I submitted what I submitted a song though I didn't
- 4:26Speaker 7: know what it was for.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You submitted a song for what if you didn't know
- 4:29Speaker 1: what it was for?
- 4:30Speaker 7: Well, Mike sent out of the email and he was like,
- 4:32Speaker 7: send in your your recommendations for walkout songs.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Oh, but you don't know what we're talking about. Yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 1: I haven't said, and you have been gone. Reids had
- 4:41Speaker 1: like three months off in a row. Yeah, it's quite
- 4:44Speaker 1: It takes like a two week basion to Disney's like
- 4:47Speaker 1: my girl's birthday. I needs sixteen days off. Man, he
- 4:50Speaker 1: just takes summers off. I guess. Yeah, yeah yeah. So
- 4:53Speaker 1: what what song did you pick without knowing? Uh? I
- 4:55Speaker 1: thought it'd be funny to do the Forever Young? Why
- 4:59Speaker 1: is that? Yeah? Uh? Why is that? I mean?
- 5:02Speaker 7: I just think, you know, yeah, what are you trying
- 5:03Speaker 7: to say any of it? We're out there trying to
- 5:06Speaker 7: be athletes, you know, but you know we aren't as.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Good as we are to say. Bobby tries to be
- 5:10Speaker 1: forever young. I think we all try to be forever young. Yeah,
- 5:13Speaker 1: you better turn that, buddy to go an extent, right.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna do Weezer Buddy Holly. Yeah, dude,
- 5:18Speaker 1: that was the one I chose. Eddie chose it too,
- 5:20Speaker 1: and there's no explanation. I looked like a door with
- 5:22Speaker 1: big glasses. So I'm just gonna take it. You look
- 5:24Speaker 1: just like Buddy Holly. He's gonna take it and run
- 5:26Speaker 1: with it. I had to miss my softball game last week. Yeah,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I told you guys, h wife got six. I couldn't go,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and then I have to miss this week. Oh dang,
- 5:36Speaker 1: two weeks letting the team down.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Man, the last two weeks of the season.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You're yeah, I'm leaving the country. There's something to do.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And the guy sent me the time. He was like,
- 5:43Speaker 1: we're playing again at six and I don't have the
- 5:45Speaker 1: gut stop. Sorry, man, I gotta miss again. I knew
- 5:48Speaker 1: I was gonna miss this week, but I thought I
- 5:50Speaker 1: could do week one to be back for week three.
- 5:51Speaker 1: To miss week one and two them I will never
- 5:52Speaker 1: show up. Yeah right, yeah, you get right. I think
- 5:55Speaker 1: you're done. Do I just ghost him now? Yeah?
- 5:57Speaker 5: But you can always ask him, right, ask him like, hey, like,
- 6:00Speaker 5: do you want me on this team?
- 6:01Speaker 7: Dude?
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah? I feel bad, but I was always going to
- 6:04Speaker 1: miss this week after like for work, go to France
- 6:06Speaker 1: for a few days, which not really pumped about having
- 6:09Speaker 1: to go because it's it's France, man, Dude, I don't care.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It's fly there and work and do like some speeches
- 6:15Speaker 1: and fly back. There's nothing. It's just like a long trip. Dang.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I've never been to France. I went last year, so
- 6:22Speaker 1: was it nice out there? I went to Paris last year.
- 6:24Speaker 1: It was cool, Betty, Betty, yeah, I went. It was awesome.
- 6:26Speaker 5: But we actually got to sleep in, went chop in.
- 6:30Speaker 5: You don't go vacation to sleep in like you can
- 6:32Speaker 5: do that here in Nashville.
- 6:33Speaker 1: No, I can't. Actually what I don't allow I really
- 6:36Speaker 1: don't allow myself to sleep in much. But so you
- 6:38Speaker 1: go all the way to Paris to sleep in. I
- 6:39Speaker 1: go all the way to Pais to sleep in and
- 6:40Speaker 1: then do pair of stuff later in the day. Okay, No,
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's pretty cool. But I'm going to miss week two
- 6:45Speaker 1: and then week three.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I'm back, dude. If I'm on that team this week forore,
- 6:50Speaker 3: im out.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Because of vacation. That's what I'm saying. It's like, hey, week,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I'm not even here. Did you pay no? Oh bones?
- 6:59Speaker 3: Can you pay those?
- 6:59Speaker 5: If you walk in on that dime with that team,
- 7:01Speaker 5: they're going to be like, dude, we have no respect
- 7:03Speaker 5: for this guy.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I know. That's what I don't want. I don't want
- 7:04Speaker 1: to be that person. Yeah. Yeah, and should we just
- 7:07Speaker 1: form like a twenty five whistles team?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be fun.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You have to give me a few few months, your
- 7:14Speaker 1: bad dude, Your boot comes off this week?
- 7:17Speaker 5: No, no, no, My appointments is seventeenth. I double checked.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I thought they said two weeks in the boot.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Yeah, but I guess the closest appointment I had was
- 7:24Speaker 5: the seventeenth. That's when they tell me the real deal.
- 7:26Speaker 5: But my foot feels a lot better. I walked on
- 7:28Speaker 5: it without the boot yesterday for a little bit and
- 7:30Speaker 5: it felt all right.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I can always always tell when ed he's coming, by
- 7:34Speaker 4: the way, you can hear him when I'm what.
- 7:35Speaker 3: When coming down the hall? Coming down the hall on
- 7:39Speaker 3: the studio?
- 7:41Speaker 1: Crap? Have you guys watched that clips show at all?
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:45Speaker 1: Cheesy?
- 7:46Speaker 3: Hunh stupid.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be really good. I
- 7:48Speaker 1: was very excited about it. It was about Clippers, Donald Sterling,
- 7:52Speaker 1: the clipper fingernails on the Albudy plays Sterling. He's good
- 7:57Speaker 1: in it. Yeah, he's good in it. It's a little
- 7:59Speaker 1: cheat like the other NBA players like JJ Reddick. It's
- 8:03Speaker 1: like they got chubby versions of everybody who almost looks
- 8:06Speaker 1: like a real player.
- 8:07Speaker 3: It's so weird. The casting is so bad.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I was.
- 8:11Speaker 5: I really had high hopes for that show because like
- 8:13Speaker 5: that La Lakers one was really good and was it called.
- 8:15Speaker 1: The Showtime Time Winning Time, Yeah, something like that. So
- 8:18Speaker 1: is it not close to that at all? No, it's
- 8:21Speaker 1: the current day, I mean the last five, six, seven
- 8:23Speaker 1: years because that scandal just happened with Donald Sterling and
- 8:25Speaker 1: the stuff that he got caught saying and how he
- 8:28Speaker 1: treated you know, not good. It seems like, good, dude,
- 8:30Speaker 1: he's dead.
- 8:33Speaker 4: I I thought live he I looked it up while watching.
- 8:36Speaker 4: I was like, is he dead yet?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Really?
- 8:38Speaker 3: It's like he's like ninety.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Maybe he's dead to me, Oh yeah, that's possible, same thing, Mike.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Is Donald Sterling still alive? I believe Kevin? Why did
- 8:49Speaker 1: you say that? Like Reid, I believe Kevin. I believe
- 8:52Speaker 1: Kevin sound like ninety years old. Well, I would say
- 8:58Speaker 1: it's not worth the time. JJ Reddick guy is just
- 9:01Speaker 1: like such a goober, even Chris Paul, Yeah, such a goober,
- 9:05Speaker 1: all of them.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Dere Jordan, yeah no.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And second of all, the Steph the person they had
- 9:10Speaker 1: a step when they were playing with it was like
- 9:12Speaker 1: if Steph had Thanksgiving ten days in. I have to
- 9:16Speaker 1: watch this, dude.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I watched two. I think it's only two out right now?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Right? Three?
- 9:20Speaker 3: Now, Okay, I've watched two and I'm done.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Well, what happened to me was I just clicked play
- 9:23Speaker 1: and I played the second episode first? Oh they had
- 9:26Speaker 1: that one first?
- 9:27Speaker 3: Oh?
- 9:28Speaker 1: What is the White Party one? Is the first episode? Right? Yeah, okay,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I didn't even watch that one. I just watched the
- 9:34Speaker 1: second when I was like, this show is way too cheesy,
- 9:36Speaker 1: had high hopes on him. I love a good sports
- 9:38Speaker 1: show with some truth in it. It is bad and
- 9:41Speaker 1: like Doc Rivers, he's played by the guy that was
- 9:43Speaker 1: in the Matrix. Yeah, I see that a little bit. Yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: Lawrence Fishburn knows a lot bigger, like like fatter than Doc,
- 9:53Speaker 1: I think, don't you think?
- 9:54Speaker 4: Yeah, everyone like you said they got everyone in the
- 9:57Speaker 4: winter season.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah, they did, so don't don't watch clips. All right,
- 10:03Speaker 1: that's that's my recommendation there. Let's go over and do
- 10:08Speaker 1: the tittle tattle.
- 10:11Speaker 3: His name ever?
- 10:13Speaker 1: The tittle tattle up?
- 10:17Speaker 4: Speaking of playing roles, talk about Kevin James playing John
- 10:20Speaker 4: Daly in a movie. If you had an athlete play
- 10:22Speaker 4: you in a movie, who would you choose?
- 10:24Speaker 1: Well, I would pick someone that I feel like, probably
- 10:26Speaker 1: looks like me, so people wouldn't do what we're doing
- 10:28Speaker 1: to them. Yes, and I'd go Christian McCaffrey. Okay, looks
- 10:33Speaker 1: nothing like you. What's up? Like the dude's man?
- 10:36Speaker 3: I wouldn't say nothing.
- 10:37Speaker 1: What's up? He's a white dude. It's about it. What's up?
- 10:41Speaker 1: Glasses on him?
- 10:41Speaker 4: Man?
- 10:41Speaker 3: If there's only a few in the NFL, man, what's up?
- 10:44Speaker 1: Okay? Next question, Mike, they play you then loser? Yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of a fit Mexican guy. Who's that?
- 10:52Speaker 1: A fit Mexican guy? Yeah? Yeah, like any sport. I mean,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I guess what's his name? MESSI?
- 10:59Speaker 5: No? No, who had the TV show the guy the
- 11:04Speaker 5: George Lopez?
- 11:06Speaker 1: No? He said athletes? Oh what athlete?
- 11:08Speaker 5: Okay again bench warmers, Oh for sure, dude, Christian Ronaldo, Okay, yeah,
- 11:13Speaker 5: that'd be good.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And you laugh at me. I think I'm closer to
- 11:16Speaker 1: McCaffrey than you are, Ronaldo. We got the same skin colored,
- 11:19Speaker 1: but I think who's closer Eddie to Ronaldo? Man? All right,
- 11:27Speaker 1: next up? All right.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Mike McDaniel's implementing the number twenty four and several staff
- 11:32Speaker 4: meetings this offseason.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Do you think it's corny or a good coaching move?
- 11:35Speaker 1: I watched him. I thought it was corny until I
- 11:36Speaker 1: watched the press conference where he's like, you know, I
- 11:37Speaker 1: do every meeting four or twenty four. We do this
- 11:40Speaker 1: at eight twenty four. Is the reason is because they're
- 11:42Speaker 1: gonna be asked. It's been twenty four seasons we made
- 11:44Speaker 1: you know, we want a playoff game? I think is
- 11:46Speaker 1: what it was. And he's like, so all we're doing
- 11:48Speaker 1: is making sure they're super comfortable with it and making
- 11:50Speaker 1: them comfortable because it's going to be asked all season long.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I thought it would have been corny until I actually
- 11:56Speaker 1: heard him talk about it. I like it. It's you know,
- 12:00Speaker 1: if they're always if it always exists, it's not new
- 12:04Speaker 1: when it's introduced by the media. It's not something that's
- 12:07Speaker 1: gonna throw him. And then I started thinking about it
- 12:08Speaker 1: being like, oh god, I wonderful twenty four years. It's
- 12:11Speaker 1: just going to be a part of their day. The
- 12:13Speaker 1: Dolphins kind of sucked at end of the year. Last
- 12:14Speaker 1: year they were real good and they were the fastest
- 12:17Speaker 1: team in the world. They're pounding the Broncos. I remember
- 12:19Speaker 1: that they score like seventy on there.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and they lost.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Four or six. So yeah, McCaffrey is a quirky dude.
- 12:25Speaker 1: And it's a fine line.
- 12:26Speaker 3: McDaniel.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Sorry, is a fine line between quirky and corny. But
- 12:31Speaker 1: I think he hits quirky.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Way more than have you seen Tua? How skinny he is?
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yeah, doesn't even look same like longer hair, like longer
- 12:38Speaker 1: curly hair.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Hey, right, next time I have to score in a
- 12:45Speaker 4: total of twenty eight points in two games.
- 12:46Speaker 3: How much blame do you put on Kyrie for being
- 12:48Speaker 3: down two?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Man? Kyrie's not played well, has he? I mean, even
- 12:52Speaker 1: when Luke's out and Kyrie's got to be the guy,
- 12:54Speaker 1: he's still not even really the guy. Once he lost
- 12:56Speaker 1: twelve in rows and stopping on the Leprechaun. Yep, you
- 13:00Speaker 1: think that's it? Well, and after game one he comes
- 13:02Speaker 1: out he's like, I thought it'd be louder in here.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I know they kept showing, I kept showing on the board. Yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 1: h his quote, I thought it'd be louder in here.
- 13:08Speaker 1: During game two, Kyrie shot thirty eight percent game one,
- 13:12Speaker 1: thirty two percent in game two. I'll tell you last night,
- 13:14Speaker 1: because last night was game two. Luca was out of
- 13:17Speaker 1: his mind again in the first quarter. Who's out of
- 13:20Speaker 1: his mind even the first half. But he petered out
- 13:23Speaker 1: a bit and Kyrie did not really hold up his
- 13:26Speaker 1: end of the bargain. But I will say this two
- 13:29Speaker 1: things I'd like to say. One, it ain't over. They
- 13:32Speaker 1: won their games at home they're supposed to. We'll go
- 13:34Speaker 1: to Dallas now, Dallas will won the next two that easy,
- 13:39Speaker 1: just like that, Just like that. And also like to
- 13:42Speaker 1: say I did bet again on last night's game. I
- 13:44Speaker 1: bet five hundred bucks and I took Dallas and the
- 13:47Speaker 1: points and they went off at six and a half. Okay,
- 13:50Speaker 1: son of a mother. They lost by seven, oh boy,
- 13:53Speaker 1: And it.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Was very very close until are you surprised he didn't
- 13:57Speaker 4: found with the d don't know if you watched the
- 13:58Speaker 4: entire thing.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I didn't watch an ing. They let it, let him like,
- 14:01Speaker 1: I mean, they weren't gonna come back that foul. The
- 14:04Speaker 1: foul when they when Luca or uh when who fouled it?
- 14:09Speaker 1: When he pushedhim in the back. That's why Derek White, right,
- 14:11Speaker 1: it was Derek White. I think it was Derek Quiet
- 14:13Speaker 1: and that if that had been a foul ins out
- 14:16Speaker 1: of a block, they'd have been down three. If it
- 14:18Speaker 1: was a foul. It was a push in the back, yes, yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 1: the rim kind of blocked him more than anything too.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I think he was just short, too fair. But it
- 14:25Speaker 1: was a foul. But I don't think it was such
- 14:27Speaker 1: an obvious foul that the rest purposefully didn't call it.
- 14:30Speaker 1: There was a lot happening. There were like five people
- 14:32Speaker 1: right there right then. Yeah, but there was a for sure,
- 14:34Speaker 1: a hand in the back and a push, but that
- 14:36Speaker 1: probably happens all the time. It's just a little more
- 14:38Speaker 1: glaring because it was right at the end of the game.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But it would have changed the game because you're talking
- 14:42Speaker 1: about two shots making a one possession game. That didn't happen,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and they didn't foul, And I wish they would have
- 14:47Speaker 1: because I needed Dallas scored on the point. I needed
- 14:50Speaker 1: them to hit even hit two free throws and Dallas
- 14:52Speaker 1: come down, hit a three, give me a chance. Lost
- 14:54Speaker 1: five hundred more bucks, and then I picked u over
- 15:00Speaker 1: six and a half for like, uh for lively? Oh no,
- 15:04Speaker 1: what he scored two. I think he had minus points.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I think he made him.
- 15:08Speaker 3: He had one, dug, that's all.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I think he finished with two points. I bet one
- 15:11Speaker 1: hundred bucks them to finish over six and a half.
- 15:13Speaker 1: So I lost six hundred bucks last night. Dang, that's
- 15:16Speaker 1: all right. Double up ketchup would always say, yeah, you're
- 15:19Speaker 1: good at that. Double up to ketchup. Over hit over
- 15:21Speaker 1: the weekend, though, they did, and I hit big time.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I hit Caitlin Clark over like seventeen and a half.
- 15:26Speaker 1: She scored thirty, I think, and then I didn't. They're
- 15:29Speaker 1: playing the Sun, the Connecticut Sun tonight. I don't think
- 15:33Speaker 1: I'm not that game. The Son is the Sun. We
- 15:36Speaker 1: talked about this, Yeah that's right, Connecticut Son is the casino. Right.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Oh that's right. Yeah right, So yeah, Kyrie, step it up,
- 15:45Speaker 1: step it up, bro, Yeah, we need you all right?
- 15:47Speaker 1: What else?
- 15:48Speaker 4: After beating the Celtics in a lot of major categories
- 15:50Speaker 4: but still losing the game. Are you starting to panic
- 15:52Speaker 4: if you're a MAVs fan?
- 15:54Speaker 1: Uh? Yeah, it's not fun. As MAVs fan has lost
- 15:57Speaker 1: fifteen sixteen hundred dollars so far. It sucks not a
- 16:01Speaker 1: MAVs fan generally, but I am on I bet, but
- 16:04Speaker 1: they played a lot better Game two, for sure, and
- 16:08Speaker 1: so I didn't know what Luca was gonna do. Is
- 16:10Speaker 1: wrapped up. His ribs are wrapped up, his knee was
- 16:11Speaker 1: wrapped up. Everything was wrapped up.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a drama queen.
- 16:14Speaker 4: They all are, and I know, but he's Hey, you know,
- 16:17Speaker 4: sucks Tatum. Well when it comes to scoring and shooting
- 16:20Speaker 4: right now. Yeah he did assists, he says, but you know,
- 16:23Speaker 4: he sucks Tatum and he's still those double teams are
- 16:25Speaker 4: coming every time. Yeah that's fine, that's okay. He's still awesome,
- 16:28Speaker 4: But you know, sucks Tatum. I'd love to have him
- 16:31Speaker 4: on my team, but you know, it sucks that Tatum.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Javin Brown, Jelen Brown's a dude.
- 16:34Speaker 2: He is.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they're all dudes. But what's up with Porzing? Is
- 16:38Speaker 1: he hurt or no, he got hurt?
- 16:39Speaker 4: No, everything says head coach and he both said we're
- 16:43Speaker 4: good to go for Game three.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I did hear where he's like, I die, Yeah, Porzinga
- 16:48Speaker 5: said that, yeah, he'll die if he said if I die.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I die, if I die. Uh yeah, congrats Ken, that's
- 16:57Speaker 1: good for you. Thank you shut up. Okay, that's a
- 17:01Speaker 1: title tottle, thank you stupid his name ever the tittle tounnle.
- 17:15Speaker 1: All right back, and we're gonna talk Caitlyn Clark here,
- 17:17Speaker 1: and we're gonna bring on an expert, Scott Agnes from
- 17:20Speaker 1: fieldhouse files dot com. He has been a lifelong Indiana
- 17:24Speaker 1: guy born went to school ball boy. It's crazy and
- 17:29Speaker 1: so check out fieldhouse files dot com if you want
- 17:32Speaker 1: to hear his podcast and if you want to follow
- 17:34Speaker 1: about the Pacers or mostly Caitlyn Clark right now, which
- 17:37Speaker 1: is what Obviously I'm super fan, I'm biggest fan. Yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 1: but throw some Pacers questions. But I thought about actually
- 17:43Speaker 1: going to a game, a fever game, Yeah, just going
- 17:47Speaker 1: and buying tickets and going up there. We got there prettyasy.
- 17:48Speaker 1: We drove up there, yeah, five hours maybe maybe four.
- 17:52Speaker 1: You think we could be media though, and like getting
- 17:54Speaker 1: that group people like Kayla, guys, ask you a question.
- 17:57Speaker 1: You gotta take your jersey off for that. Then I've
- 17:59Speaker 1: been trying to buy I got my red one in
- 18:00Speaker 1: What would you ask her? How come your autograph cards
- 18:03Speaker 1: so expensive? Back, That's probably what I would ask. But
- 18:07Speaker 1: that would be fun to go to a game, right Yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 1: just to like experience that, which is weird because I've
- 18:13Speaker 1: never wanted to go to WBA game. This is weird, man,
- 18:16Speaker 1: never have. So here we go. This is Scott Agnes
- 18:18Speaker 1: from Fieldhouse Files dot Com. Here we go. But I mean,
- 18:23Speaker 1: it's just not about that right now. I mean it is.
- 18:25Speaker 1: It is all Fever and you're right in it. And
- 18:28Speaker 1: I guess before we talk about the Kaitlin Clark stuff,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I was reading about you. You were a ball boy
- 18:32Speaker 1: for the Pacers and the Fever, like you were hardcore
- 18:34Speaker 1: in it.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 18:36Speaker 8: That's where I got my start with all this, and
- 18:38Speaker 8: so to go there and get that whole experience and
- 18:41Speaker 8: then to wrap it all up ultimately with the Fever
- 18:44Speaker 8: winning the WNBA championship. And I finished the year promoted
- 18:47Speaker 8: to equipment manager because the equipment manager had left during
- 18:50Speaker 8: the season. Uh. It gave me not only a great
- 18:54Speaker 8: fun exports experience, but laid the groundwork for what I'm
- 18:57Speaker 8: doing today now because I have a greater understanding. I
- 18:59Speaker 8: think so much of those players and also their situation
- 19:02Speaker 8: and how they're feeling before games.
- 19:04Speaker 1: That's crazy, that's like, you're like legit. Because a lot
- 19:07Speaker 1: of people in any sort of sports media, especially if
- 19:10Speaker 1: they're working from that city, they get sent to that city.
- 19:12Speaker 1: They're not always a homegrown passionate fan, and it's probably
- 19:16Speaker 1: hard to be objective a little bit when you love
- 19:18Speaker 1: them so much. How in the world do you do that?
- 19:20Speaker 2: It wasn't too difficult after the first year.
- 19:22Speaker 8: Right coming out of college, I had the great experience
- 19:24Speaker 8: at Indiana University where you're covering a team that kind
- 19:26Speaker 8: of feels like the pros with IU men's basketball.
- 19:30Speaker 2: So now it's no problem whatsoever.
- 19:33Speaker 8: The weirdest thing is when people, I'm sure you get
- 19:35Speaker 8: it too, people think you're part of the team or
- 19:37Speaker 8: you're part of something, and so they hit you up
- 19:39Speaker 8: for tickets or assume those things. I'm like, I don't
- 19:43Speaker 8: even have tickets. Quit asking.
- 19:45Speaker 1: So I don't know if you ever every won the
- 19:46Speaker 1: WNBA Championship. So what happened then? Because how do they
- 19:49Speaker 1: win the championship and then go to the first overall.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Pick Hall of Famer Tamika Catching's retires.
- 19:54Speaker 1: U And it was just like that. She was such
- 19:57Speaker 1: a force and so instrumental to the success of that team.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Yeah, hundred percent, Bobby.
- 20:01Speaker 8: I mean, she's probably a top ten women's player of
- 20:04Speaker 8: all time Hall of Famer and was just so instrumental.
- 20:08Speaker 8: I think they had a record that still stands today
- 20:10Speaker 8: of something like twelve consecutive years of reaching the postseason.
- 20:14Speaker 8: And you just don't see that so much anymore today
- 20:16Speaker 8: with the parody or if injuries or if a player
- 20:19Speaker 8: two goes down. But she was just so in instrumental
- 20:22Speaker 8: to this franchise and that's what really.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Led them there.
- 20:24Speaker 8: They got back in twenty fifteen, in fact, in one
- 20:27Speaker 8: of her last years, but then the next year she retired.
- 20:30Speaker 8: And now that head coach Stephanie White's guiding the Connecticut
- 20:33Speaker 8: son who are atop the WNBA standings.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Yeah, then they've lost one game, right listen. I'm I've
- 20:41Speaker 1: watched I've watched every Fever game except for one that
- 20:44Speaker 1: wasn't on television. I now know where ion is. Like,
- 20:46Speaker 1: it's wild how much I've been watching and listen. I
- 20:50Speaker 1: am a poser and a bandwagoner. I started watching Kaylen
- 20:53Speaker 1: Clark like everybody did in Iowa, where I would like
- 20:56Speaker 1: and I would say it on the show. I'd be like,
- 20:57Speaker 1: I am appointment watching for the first time ever a
- 21:01Speaker 1: woman's college basketball game that wasn't Arkansas, which is my team,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and so I would watch and I know the Arkansas
- 21:06Speaker 1: that the women's head coach, and I would watch those agains.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But for the first time ever, I watched cat Look
- 21:09Speaker 1: Clark at Iowa, and then it didn't matter what team
- 21:11Speaker 1: she was going to. I was in. I've watched every
- 21:14Speaker 1: freaking game. So is it to see that place full,
- 21:19Speaker 1: I mean jam packed for a WNBA game? Is it
- 21:22Speaker 1: freaking awesome?
- 21:23Speaker 2: It is.
- 21:24Speaker 8: It's bigger than a Pacers preseason game. The Fever have
- 21:27Speaker 8: already shattered like three different records and opposing venues.
- 21:31Speaker 2: On top of that.
- 21:33Speaker 8: Obviously, they had that daunting schedule, with eleven of their
- 21:35Speaker 8: first twenty on the road, I think among them, LA
- 21:38Speaker 8: and Vegas set franchise records. Then most recently, the Washington
- 21:43Speaker 8: Mystics set a franchise record for attendance. It's unfathomable, really, Bobby,
- 21:47Speaker 8: the level in which she's elevating everything from the TV metrics.
- 21:52Speaker 8: Five different networks have already had their most watched WNBA
- 21:55Speaker 8: game of all time. I'm sure all kinds of digital
- 21:59Speaker 8: metrics are there too for the WNBA, for the team.
- 22:03Speaker 8: It just it kind of goes back, I think, Bobby,
- 22:05Speaker 8: to what you were just saying is it's now become
- 22:07Speaker 8: appointment TV. I know so many people that were more
- 22:10Speaker 8: interested in the women's NCAA tournament for the first time
- 22:14Speaker 8: over the men's tournament, And I think a lot of that,
- 22:17Speaker 8: in fairness, kind of speaks to the way in which
- 22:19Speaker 8: the games are different now, and meaning college basketball. In
- 22:23Speaker 8: the men's game, you're remaking the roster every year, and
- 22:25Speaker 8: the women's game much less so, so you get to
- 22:28Speaker 8: know these players for three and four years. You don't
- 22:30Speaker 8: have the one and done's, and you don't have the
- 22:32Speaker 8: remake of the rosters quite so frequently, So you build
- 22:36Speaker 8: that connection, and I think so many times teams forget
- 22:39Speaker 8: that at every level.
- 22:40Speaker 1: So then let's get to Caitlin Clark specifically, like, why
- 22:43Speaker 1: would are teammates not like fight back for her? Because
- 22:46Speaker 1: that was a narrative, don't know how true it was.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I watched every game. I would think the same thing
- 22:51Speaker 1: at times, like yo, what like if somebody got one
- 22:53Speaker 1: of my people, I don't care if I liked them
- 22:55Speaker 1: or not. If they're one of my people, I'd probably
- 22:56Speaker 1: jump in. Was that real or was that just the
- 22:59Speaker 1: media saying it was real?
- 23:01Speaker 2: What I do wonder is what were they what are
- 23:04Speaker 2: they feeling? What are they told? Right?
- 23:06Speaker 8: And in those moments, for example, like even Caitlin being
- 23:09Speaker 8: left off Team USA one of her teammates Kelsey Mitchell,
- 23:12Speaker 8: and I don't blame her necessarily because of the discourse
- 23:16Speaker 8: that's going on, but she simply said, I have no
- 23:18Speaker 8: opinion on that. I can't remember any player ever not
- 23:21Speaker 8: having an opinion about their teammates or or about a
- 23:23Speaker 8: situation like that. The trouble is, whichever side you pick,
- 23:26Speaker 8: you're going to take heat from the other. And I
- 23:28Speaker 8: think that kind of speaks to the impact that Caitlyn
- 23:31Speaker 8: has had, and unfairly so, in terms of being thrown
- 23:34Speaker 8: into discussions that aren't anything to do with basketball, but
- 23:38Speaker 8: in terms of their teammates. Here's what you got to
- 23:40Speaker 8: keep in mind. I think so many of these players,
- 23:43Speaker 8: for the most part, are still trying to prove it.
- 23:45Speaker 8: Even their head coach is a first time head coach
- 23:48Speaker 8: just in her second year. Aleah Boston came to her
- 23:51Speaker 8: defense in terms of separating her, But she's only a
- 23:54Speaker 8: second year player. I'm not sure you maybe have maybe
- 23:57Speaker 8: you need that enforcer or something on the in the
- 24:00Speaker 8: locker room. You might have seen that with the Pacers
- 24:02Speaker 8: with James Johnson this past year. He wasn't signed for
- 24:04Speaker 8: what he can do on the court. He was signed
- 24:06Speaker 8: for being a leader for this team. He was there
- 24:11Speaker 8: when the team had a physical confrontation, like in the postseason,
- 24:15Speaker 8: Bobby Portis was talking smack, James Johnson stepped in, got
- 24:18Speaker 8: a technical.
- 24:19Speaker 2: They never heard from Bobby Portis.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Again, are a lot of the players because you're there,
- 24:24Speaker 1: are a lot of the players as genuinely haters or
- 24:26Speaker 1: jealous that she came in as a rookie and she's
- 24:29Speaker 1: already making way more money again based on the Shoe
- 24:32Speaker 1: contract that she got in the Wilson contract that she got, Like,
- 24:34Speaker 1: is that a factor with other players?
- 24:36Speaker 8: It certainly seems like it in terms of the league
- 24:38Speaker 8: as a whole, right, and part of you I think
- 24:41Speaker 8: can empathize with it a little bit in terms of, hey, look,
- 24:43Speaker 8: I've been here for several years, or I have a
- 24:46Speaker 8: story worth telling. Why are you talking to Caitlin for
- 24:48Speaker 8: the third time today, for the fifth time this week?
- 24:51Speaker 2: Like no joke.
- 24:52Speaker 8: That was Caitlyn's week for the first three weeks of
- 24:55Speaker 8: her WNBA career. Is she was talking to the media
- 24:58Speaker 8: basically every day or every other day.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Because it was game day.
- 25:02Speaker 8: And at that point she was talking in the morning,
- 25:05Speaker 8: after shoot around, pregame, and then postgame. I was adding
- 25:09Speaker 8: it up, Bobby, she was talking to media about forty
- 25:11Speaker 8: five minutes per day on a game day. And so
- 25:14Speaker 8: from that standpoint, along with the national attention, I think
- 25:18Speaker 8: maybe some jealousies seemingly crept in. I mean, you saw
- 25:21Speaker 8: so many players you know, talk even take Minnesota Lynk's.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Head coach Cheryl Reeve.
- 25:27Speaker 8: They highlighted the fever in the preseason, showed both of
- 25:30Speaker 8: their games as you would with any number one pick,
- 25:32Speaker 8: and she, being the Olympic coach, even goes, hey, this
- 25:35Speaker 8: league is more than one player. It's twelve teams. That
- 25:37Speaker 8: was her hashtags in a tweet. So I think it's
- 25:40Speaker 8: a league trying to figure out how they embrace everything
- 25:44Speaker 8: that comes with her while also spotlighting everything else. And
- 25:48Speaker 8: it's a delicate balance. But I think you have seen
- 25:50Speaker 8: some jealousy naturally creep in from players across the league.
- 25:55Speaker 1: What is she like?
- 25:57Speaker 8: She's Peyton Manning like, that's the best way I can scriper.
- 26:00Speaker 8: Truly professional, always says the right thing is the ultimate
- 26:04Speaker 8: teammates competitive as hell, wants to rip your head off,
- 26:07Speaker 8: but then postgame will give you a hug and talk
- 26:11Speaker 8: with you whatever. I am truly beyond words, really impressed
- 26:17Speaker 8: with the way in which she carries herself, Bobby. Just
- 26:19Speaker 8: the level of scrutiny she's facing, the number of times
- 26:22Speaker 8: she's put in front of cameras, the fact that the
- 26:25Speaker 8: team has like four members of executive protection traveling with them.
- 26:29Speaker 8: It's like the Pacers right now before that they didn't
- 26:32Speaker 8: need any security going back. I'm not sure they ever
- 26:34Speaker 8: traveled with security until today or this season. So just
- 26:40Speaker 8: the way in which she's handled this has been truly remarkable,
- 26:42Speaker 8: especially considering she's just twenty two years old.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Does she ever miss in practice? I mean, I know,
- 26:48Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, it's like when you watch the NBA
- 26:50Speaker 1: guys or WNBA women when they shoot and there's nobody
- 26:52Speaker 1: on them, they don't They almost never miss. And to
- 26:55Speaker 1: watch her chunk threes, logo s threes constantly, I can't
- 26:59Speaker 1: imagine what her percentage is like with nobody guarding her.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It's got to be crazy to see, right.
- 27:04Speaker 8: Yeah, and what we will see is mostly scrimmages or
- 27:08Speaker 8: five on five work after practice. We unfortunately haven't had
- 27:11Speaker 8: one of those times where sometimes after pacers or feed
- 27:14Speaker 8: fever meat availability where you'll be able to see the
- 27:18Speaker 8: players just shoot while you're waiting for players to talk.
- 27:21Speaker 8: I'm guessing Caitlyn gets her work in before practice and
- 27:24Speaker 8: before everybody's out there, before cameras, because I wouldn't like
- 27:28Speaker 8: that pressure. If you're a player, you know there's you know, however,
- 27:32Speaker 8: many media members maybe that's a big difference too. I
- 27:35Speaker 8: should note, by the way, at a preseason game there
- 27:37Speaker 8: were thirty one media members and eight cameras. Most games
- 27:40Speaker 8: last year there are probably two two people. That's it like,
- 27:44Speaker 8: so the coverage is entirely different. But when you get
- 27:46Speaker 8: on the basketball floor when she's shooting like that, yeah,
- 27:49Speaker 8: a lot of the time she's just knocking it down,
- 27:51Speaker 8: especially when she's getting in her rhythm, shooting going around
- 27:53Speaker 8: the arc.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Do WAA teams want a tank? That is that
- 27:58Speaker 1: a factor in the WNBA where they want a draft
- 28:00Speaker 1: pick like the NBA. You know they'll tank in the
- 28:03Speaker 1: NBA for her, Like did the Fever want to get
- 28:05Speaker 1: a top draft pick or they trying to win games.
- 28:07Speaker 8: This year specifically? No, they're trying to win. They're trying
- 28:10Speaker 8: to rebuild a culture. I think it can be dangerous
- 28:12Speaker 8: to have a culture of losing a culture of understanding
- 28:15Speaker 8: you can tank and all that. Now WNBA's a little
- 28:18Speaker 8: bit differently because it's an aggregate of the record over
- 28:21Speaker 8: the last several years.
- 28:22Speaker 2: So that if I'll.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Explain that, I don't know that. So I'm going to
- 28:26Speaker 1: be ignorant here, So tell me that how that works.
- 28:29Speaker 8: Yeah, So you're just taking the aggregate record over the
- 28:32Speaker 8: last couple of years to determine your odds to then
- 28:35Speaker 8: when the draft lottery is held, whether you get that pick.
- 28:38Speaker 8: The other things fans may not know if they're just
- 28:40Speaker 8: joining into the league too, is the Pace or the
- 28:43Speaker 8: Fever had a rash of bad.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Luck in the lottery? They have been awful and irrelevant.
- 28:48Speaker 8: Like we said, since Tamika Ketching is retired in twenty sixteen.
- 28:51Speaker 8: Since that point they had been they had a couple
- 28:54Speaker 8: of times where they had the odds for the top
- 28:56Speaker 8: overall pick and didn't get it when they had like
- 28:58Speaker 8: the third pick ultimately, and so yes, the Fever have
- 29:01Speaker 8: drafted the number one overall the last couple of years,
- 29:04Speaker 8: but before that it was a little bit different, and
- 29:06Speaker 8: I'm glad. I kind of like the fact that they
- 29:08Speaker 8: combine your record over the last few years to then
- 29:11Speaker 8: determine your lot ofy odds.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I think that's a better idea for the NBA too.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I think it stops tanking. What are you gonna tank
- 29:16Speaker 1: for three years to get your odds better? So the
- 29:19Speaker 1: Olympic team, that's kind of a joke, right that they're
- 29:22Speaker 1: well what was reported was that some of the players,
- 29:25Speaker 1: some of the older leader players, didn't want her on
- 29:28Speaker 1: the team because her limited playing time would create a distraction.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Since when do fan bases pick who's on an Olympic team?
- 29:37Speaker 1: If true, and isn't that a hypothetical situation they're creating
- 29:40Speaker 1: in order to keep her off the team? As you
- 29:42Speaker 1: can see, I'm fired about it. What are your thoughts?
- 29:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so there's a lot of layers to this. Let's
- 29:46Speaker 2: first go with what that report was.
- 29:49Speaker 8: I just don't believe that's there's a lot of credence
- 29:52Speaker 8: to that because you're trying to take the top twelve
- 29:55Speaker 8: players from a team standpoint, it may not be the
- 29:57Speaker 8: top twelve players in the league. I want to emphasize
- 29:59Speaker 8: that you've got to form a group that can come
- 30:02Speaker 8: together and get it done. You got to have the
- 30:04Speaker 8: appropriate guards, centers, all that sort of thing how you
- 30:07Speaker 8: build the roster. Secondly, I think you have to have
- 30:10Speaker 8: an eye on the future while also appreciating your past,
- 30:14Speaker 8: and I think you're seeing the benefit there. For Diana
- 30:17Speaker 8: Trossi going for her sixth gold medal, she's like forty one,
- 30:21Speaker 8: and to be clear too, she's not at a level
- 30:23Speaker 8: of like Lebron James, where on any given night he's
- 30:26Speaker 8: a top three player in the league. Now he can't
- 30:27Speaker 8: do it for eighty two games as a thirty nine
- 30:31Speaker 8: year old. I don't think that was a a token
- 30:34Speaker 8: thing here, but in terms of Trossi being on it,
- 30:37Speaker 8: that's one you could question. You could also question a
- 30:39Speaker 8: couple players that have been injured. One player hasn't even
- 30:42Speaker 8: played in the game yet this season. Then you get
- 30:45Speaker 8: to the aspect of building the game, and that's a
- 30:48Speaker 8: no brainer turn when intern you talk about including Caitlin here.
- 30:53Speaker 8: The other thing I'm surprised at more than anything, Bobby.
- 30:56Speaker 8: We know it comes down to money a lot of times, right,
- 30:59Speaker 8: Nike is a major sponsor of USA basketball. Nike is
- 31:02Speaker 8: signing Caitlin Clark to a signature shoe deal. You don't
- 31:06Speaker 8: see that many times with rookie. So I'm surprised just
- 31:08Speaker 8: from a sponsor standpoint. Again, a lot of different levels
- 31:12Speaker 8: to all this, but they haven't pushed necessarily. Maybe they
- 31:15Speaker 8: have privately for her to be included. It just doesn't
- 31:19Speaker 8: add up entirely, because not only is she an incredible player,
- 31:23Speaker 8: she can shoot the heck out of the ball and
- 31:26Speaker 8: your team, yourself up for future teams. You want her
- 31:29Speaker 8: to experience it this year, maybe when she's like the
- 31:32Speaker 8: tenth man, eleventh man on the roster and not having
- 31:35Speaker 8: to be the it girl, whereas we all foresee her
- 31:38Speaker 8: being that right the next several Olympics at least.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know why, I guess so irritated. I
- 31:44Speaker 1: don't know her, I've never met her. I'm not Iowa fan,
- 31:47Speaker 1: but I just I started to feel bad for her
- 31:50Speaker 1: because she did nothing to deserve all of this except
- 31:54Speaker 1: be awesome, like just set the scoring record. She's not
- 31:56Speaker 1: controversial in anyway, and people are like, why is she
- 31:58Speaker 1: getting all this attention? Well, she's the number one, she's
- 32:00Speaker 1: the highest score in all of basketball men women, Like,
- 32:04Speaker 1: no one's done that since I mean Pistol Pete was
- 32:06Speaker 1: the last dude. He owned it before, so that doesn't
- 32:08Speaker 1: happen but for like every forty years. So it does
- 32:11Speaker 1: make sense when someone who does something differently and sets
- 32:13Speaker 1: records gets a little more attention. And people were just
- 32:16Speaker 1: such haters. And I'm a hater of haters. Scott that's
- 32:19Speaker 1: my name. I'm a hater of haters. Let's move in
- 32:22Speaker 1: Pacers real quick. We went up and spent some time.
- 32:25Speaker 1: We were Miles Turner, that dude's awesome, Like friendliest guy.
- 32:30Speaker 1: How do you feel Do you think this was a
- 32:31Speaker 1: success in the eyes of the organization?
- 32:34Speaker 8: Yeah, this past Pacer season absolutely was no doubt about that.
- 32:37Speaker 8: The expectation going in from the player's standpoint, they were
- 32:40Speaker 8: all talking playoffs. The star of the team, Tyrese Halliburton,
- 32:44Speaker 8: he was talking how I'm tired of losing. I'm tired
- 32:46Speaker 8: of being seen as a loser. He hadn't truly won
- 32:49Speaker 8: since high school, didn't win big at Iowa State, went
- 32:52Speaker 8: to Sacramento, where they inevitably almost always were in that
- 32:56Speaker 8: lottery until here recently when they hired Mike Brown and
- 32:59Speaker 8: kind of turned things around. But the coaching staff, I
- 33:02Speaker 8: note the front office, none of them were talking about
- 33:05Speaker 8: the postseason going into this season. They kind of felt
- 33:07Speaker 8: like this might have been another rebuilding type year, not
- 33:10Speaker 8: like a tank, not like trying to get to the
- 33:12Speaker 8: top of the lottery. But they were optimistic about how
- 33:16Speaker 8: things potentially could go, and it couldn't have gone any better.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Now.
- 33:19Speaker 8: Certainly they benefited from circumstances in the terms of injuries.
- 33:23Speaker 8: First with Milwaukee, you don't even see Jannis on Detakumbo
- 33:26Speaker 8: in Round one. Damian Lillard, I'm not sure he was
- 33:29Speaker 8: eighty percent throughout several other injuries they were dealing with.
- 33:32Speaker 8: You get to New York and the Knicks were down
- 33:34Speaker 8: about four key players throughout that series. Still, like the Celtics,
- 33:38Speaker 8: you don't apologize for that. You need luck on your side.
- 33:41Speaker 8: But as a whole, the fact that Tyree's had another
- 33:44Speaker 8: All Star year. We had All Star weekend right here
- 33:46Speaker 8: in Indianapolis. And then for Tyree selfishly, he was able
- 33:50Speaker 8: to get All NBA, which benefits his wallet a great
- 33:54Speaker 8: deal another forty five million because he earned that All
- 33:57Speaker 8: NBA vote. So all things considered, outside of maybe Tyrese's
- 34:01Speaker 8: hamstring injury that bothered him for the final three months
- 34:03Speaker 8: of the season, it was easily a successful year here.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I think we were there when we heard it the
- 34:07Speaker 1: first time we were against Boston, and then it just
- 34:09Speaker 1: kind of nagged him the rest of the year and
- 34:11Speaker 1: actually bothered him in the playoffs too. We saw the Pacers,
- 34:15Speaker 1: you know, make some pretty strong midseason acquisitions that solidified.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Are they all staying? Is that? Is that unit staying intact?
- 34:23Speaker 8: Basically, yes, there is one caveat to that in that
- 34:27Speaker 8: Pascal siakams up for a contract. The reality is here,
- 34:31Speaker 8: the Pacers don't trade for a player and give up
- 34:33Speaker 8: the assets they did in three first round picks and
- 34:35Speaker 8: a couple of players to get a guy like that
- 34:37Speaker 8: without an understanding he would be open to re signing here.
- 34:41Speaker 8: And the other known thing is, of course the Pacers
- 34:43Speaker 8: they have his bird rights, which means they can offer
- 34:46Speaker 8: him more than any other team out there. So they
- 34:48Speaker 8: bring back Pascal. Yeah, then basically you have that entire
- 34:52Speaker 8: group brought back. It's a young core. That's what stands
- 34:56Speaker 8: out so much about it. And starting this upcoming year though,
- 34:59Speaker 8: there's circumstances change a little bit when you get into
- 35:02Speaker 8: the NBA financial minutia here because Tyresee's new contract over
- 35:06Speaker 8: forty million per year that now starts. It goes from
- 35:09Speaker 8: like four million to forty and then Siakam presumably getting
- 35:12Speaker 8: paid here coming up. It can start the day after
- 35:14Speaker 8: the NBA Finals. That's new this year as well, to
- 35:17Speaker 8: resign your own and so Pascal's first year of his
- 35:20Speaker 8: deals expected to be well over forty million. So there's
- 35:23Speaker 8: eighty million dollars of your salary cap. Bobby tied down
- 35:25Speaker 8: to just two players, Whereas here, as of late, the
- 35:28Speaker 8: Pacers had really had unique opportunity to mess around with
- 35:31Speaker 8: the roster, take on trades and deals to fine tune it.
- 35:36Speaker 8: While they're on this rebuilding trajectory.
- 35:38Speaker 1: They have no money. They have to sign me like
- 35:41Speaker 1: Buck sign me.
- 35:42Speaker 8: They're not quite at the phoenix level here to be
- 35:45Speaker 8: kind of phoenix they have no Big three. They literally
- 35:47Speaker 8: basically can only sign players that onto the veteran minimum.
- 35:51Speaker 8: The pacers aren't at that level. But that's why you
- 35:55Speaker 8: have to work towards this and plan it out two
- 35:57Speaker 8: or three years because it has a lot of money
- 35:59Speaker 8: to commit to a couple of guys.
- 36:00Speaker 1: We were talking about fieldhouse files dot com earlier before
- 36:03Speaker 1: we had John and your podcast Fieldhouse Files. So if
- 36:06Speaker 1: we listen to the podcast, like, what are people going
- 36:08Speaker 1: to hear?
- 36:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 36:08Speaker 8: So during the postseason I did something different in terms
- 36:11Speaker 8: I did a live postgame show on YouTube and then
- 36:13Speaker 8: made that on podcast form. Now back to kind of
- 36:17Speaker 8: our regular slated schedule. I try to do it a
- 36:19Speaker 8: weekly podcast and get into any little I'm big on details,
- 36:23Speaker 8: little things I see little things that like, for example,
- 36:27Speaker 8: last night, Rick Carlisle was at back at Boston where
- 36:30Speaker 8: he played where he won a championship, but he was
- 36:33Speaker 8: there for a different thing, to present the Chuck Daly Award,
- 36:37Speaker 8: So I talk about those different things. Were obviously got
- 36:39Speaker 8: to break down this salary cap, which is very unique
- 36:42Speaker 8: to this pacer situation now moving forward, and then talk
- 36:46Speaker 8: about what's gone on here as of late, whether it's
- 36:48Speaker 8: games whether it's the draft in Summer League in July
- 36:51Speaker 8: is always one of my favorite events.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Scott Agnes and you guys can subscribe to his newsletter,
- 36:55Speaker 1: go to Fieldhouse files dot com, or listen to the
- 36:56Speaker 1: podcast Fieldhouse Files Behind the Scenes in the Locker Room
- 36:59Speaker 1: of the Payers and Fever the Fever. That's I mean, look,
- 37:03Speaker 1: I'm in. I've watched every game. I've never watched a
- 37:06Speaker 1: w NBA game in my life, and I've watched them all, Scott,
- 37:08Speaker 1: except for the one that I had to watch the
- 37:09Speaker 1: little cartoon guys on ESPN the game Tracker because they
- 37:13Speaker 1: wasn't on TV anywhere, which I thought was bizarre. Scott.
- 37:16Speaker 8: The Kaitlyn Clark effect right there, you're tuning in. It's
- 37:19Speaker 8: must watch TV for you and millions of others, clearly
- 37:22Speaker 8: by the metrics.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Well, Scott, we appreciate your time and good luck, and
- 37:26Speaker 1: you guys can follow Scott Scott Agnes on Twitter and
- 37:28Speaker 1: Instagram and we'll put this in the show notes as well. Scott,
- 37:30Speaker 1: have a great day, man, We really appreciate it.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks for having me on. Good to talk with you, Bobby.
- 37:35Speaker 1: All right, thanks to Scott, pro Kaitlyn Clark, my red
- 37:40Speaker 1: Kaitlin Clark jersey came in, so I have a red
- 37:41Speaker 1: one a blue one. They're both just a little too big.
- 37:45Speaker 1: They're both large as I should have got mediums, but
- 37:47Speaker 1: I didn't want to get a medium and it be
- 37:49Speaker 1: too small. I'd rather have a large and it'd be
- 37:51Speaker 1: too big. But I'm not really satisfied with it.
- 37:54Speaker 5: I think basketball jerseys, dude better to run a little
- 37:56Speaker 5: larger than sugg I agree, Yeah, that's true, sure, because
- 37:59Speaker 5: that medium could be little snug on you.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I agree, but it's I wanted just to fit. It's
- 38:04Speaker 1: just a little big question I want to wear to church.
- 38:07Speaker 3: What do you guys?
- 38:09Speaker 4: Do you wear jerseys? If you're watching the game at
- 38:10Speaker 4: home by yourself? Are you watching?
- 38:13Speaker 3: Are you in a jersey?
- 38:14Speaker 1: No? I don't really wear a jersey anywhere unless I'm
- 38:18Speaker 1: doing something that requires me to wear a jersey, like
- 38:22Speaker 1: a football game, like if you're playing. If I'm going
- 38:26Speaker 1: to be on camera for something related to Arkansas football
- 38:32Speaker 1: and the jersey will actually accentuate that in some way,
- 38:35Speaker 1: I will wear it if it's part of the show.
- 38:40Speaker 1: But I'm just not gonna wear a jersey to wear
- 38:45Speaker 1: it to support I don't think. I have a couple
- 38:47Speaker 1: of jersey shirts that are like jersey but their shirts
- 38:50Speaker 1: over cool. Yeah, I don't mind those. I'll actually like that,
- 38:53Speaker 1: the T shirt with the number on it. No, they
- 38:54Speaker 1: have like a couple of couples. They're like full over shirts,
- 38:57Speaker 1: but they're like jersey material.
- 38:59Speaker 3: I like those. The baseball ones like that are cool.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and I've even worn one of those to work before.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I was gonna wear one to play softball because they
- 39:04Speaker 1: were blue. I was gonna Mark Gray signed jersey, but
- 39:07Speaker 1: you didn't you get a chance to do that. But no,
- 39:09Speaker 1: I'm not a big jersey guy. I did start to
- 39:12Speaker 1: frame some of them, though. I got a really cool
- 39:15Speaker 1: So this is what was hard. We go to like
- 39:17Speaker 1: places like Florida State to do too much access and
- 39:20Speaker 1: they give us a jersey and it's like the legit jersey.
- 39:22Speaker 1: It says bones on it, it's got number one, and
- 39:25Speaker 1: so let's say you frame it and that's that was
- 39:27Speaker 1: the plan. But then you only see the back of it,
- 39:29Speaker 1: you know, see any of the Florida State stuff. It
- 39:30Speaker 1: just looks like a whatever. That color is gold, gold
- 39:33Speaker 1: and red or something. So this is what I did.
- 39:36Speaker 1: I have a tailor who does like my clothes, like
- 39:39Speaker 1: if I'm doing award shows or anything where I have
- 39:42Speaker 1: to have my clothes tailor. I was like, hey, can
- 39:44Speaker 1: you take this apart on the front in the back,
- 39:46Speaker 1: And they're like, yeah, what's up? I said, just remove
- 39:48Speaker 1: the front in the back and make it two halves.
- 39:49Speaker 1: And so I got a hockey jersey kiss because they're
- 39:53Speaker 1: so much bigger, and I took them apart from it
- 39:55Speaker 1: and I put them beside each other, the front and
- 39:57Speaker 1: the back. That's awesome. That's a great as you can
- 39:59Speaker 1: see all the Florida state stuff and then you see
- 40:02Speaker 1: the bones on the back. I have it upstairs and
- 40:04Speaker 1: that was my experimental one, and it's cool. That's really cool.
- 40:08Speaker 1: It just takes a little bit of time to do
- 40:10Speaker 1: because you got to like take the thread out, and
- 40:12Speaker 1: you do have to take it apart, so you don't
- 40:13Speaker 1: get to wear it anymore. But I don't really need
- 40:15Speaker 1: to wear it.
- 40:16Speaker 5: But and if somebody tries to steal it, they're like, oh,
- 40:18Speaker 5: it's not a real jersey.
- 40:19Speaker 1: It's splitting half. Dang it. I can only wear this
- 40:21Speaker 1: on my back. Why do you wear jerseys? No?
- 40:24Speaker 4: I was having that discussion the other night with my
- 40:26Speaker 4: girlfriend I was watching the game, was like just She's like,
- 40:27Speaker 4: are you gonna wear your jersey?
- 40:28Speaker 3: And I'm like, no, not just sitting at my house by.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Myself, but you wear I'm like, when if I go
- 40:33Speaker 1: out to a bar.
- 40:34Speaker 3: And watch the game, yeah, I'll wear it.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yeah. And I you know, if I go to a
- 40:38Speaker 1: Razorback game and I know I'm going to be doing
- 40:40Speaker 1: some press there or something, I don't mind wearing it
- 40:43Speaker 1: because it's like part of the It's like part of
- 40:46Speaker 1: the show. Like it's like part of that. He's a
- 40:48Speaker 1: big crazy fan. But just generally nah.
- 40:51Speaker 4: But you know viral videos where like people when they
- 40:53Speaker 4: go crazy when their team.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Loses and they're all wearing jerseys and just sitting at
- 40:56Speaker 3: home alone. That's just kind of weird to me.
- 40:58Speaker 1: A girl. What kind of fan they are when they
- 41:00Speaker 1: break their TV? That's that's funny. All right, cowboys, let's
- 41:04Speaker 1: take a break. We'll come right back. I bought a
- 41:08Speaker 1: new car. So I have you got the cyber truck? No,
- 41:15Speaker 1: So I have a Hunday that I drive sixty percent
- 41:18Speaker 1: of the time. And this Honday that I have now
- 41:20Speaker 1: is the best car. It's the best car I ever driven.
- 41:22Speaker 1: And I'm not even saying that because they don't have
- 41:23Speaker 1: a deal on this podcast. They've deal with the radio show.
- 41:26Speaker 1: But it's a Hyundai Santa Fe. I saw one drive
- 41:29Speaker 1: by this morning, and it's not like a jeep waver
- 41:30Speaker 1: like what a like waved down on me. I think
- 41:32Speaker 1: they were like, who is that? You guys don't do that.
- 41:34Speaker 1: I know, I know, but it's so the hon Days
- 41:36Speaker 1: Santa Fe is awesome. But I had a car before
- 41:40Speaker 1: I did a deal with hun Day and they were like, hey,
- 41:41Speaker 1: do you want to represent us and we'll give you
- 41:43Speaker 1: a car if you drive it. I want to drive it.
- 41:45Speaker 1: So I had a car before that, and I hated
- 41:47Speaker 1: it because it felt like the biggest douchebag car ever.
- 41:50Speaker 1: It's a Porsche. And I had a Tesla before Tesla's
- 41:54Speaker 1: got to be kind of a douchey thing themselves, and
- 41:57Speaker 1: or I think, at least I think it was before
- 41:59Speaker 1: they got to beat douchey, right you? Or no? I
- 42:02Speaker 1: mean now families have Teslas, right, Yeah, I don't think
- 42:04Speaker 1: they're douchey. You don't. Did they get that way for
- 42:06Speaker 1: a bit? Or no?
- 42:07Speaker 8: No?
- 42:07Speaker 1: Okay, good? I never got that good to know uh,
- 42:10Speaker 1: maybe people call me douche for another reason then car so,
- 42:13Speaker 1: but my wife would get so e motion sick in
- 42:14Speaker 1: the Tesla because it made no noise when you hit
- 42:18Speaker 1: the gas. Sure, this car, this Porsche. We went during COVID.
- 42:22Speaker 1: It was the only car they had on the lote
- 42:23Speaker 1: and I bought it, and it was the only car
- 42:26Speaker 1: they had that they could sell because they had like
- 42:27Speaker 1: eight cars. Were like, you can't sell it. For some reason,
- 42:31Speaker 1: we can't sell this car and I was I was like,
- 42:33Speaker 1: what do you have that you can sell me? And
- 42:35Speaker 1: so I bought this car. And what worked for us
- 42:40Speaker 1: was it had a setting in this car where you
- 42:42Speaker 1: push the button and then it gave you an engine
- 42:45Speaker 1: sound when you hit the gas. So my wife could
- 42:46Speaker 1: ride in it and I hit the gas and even
- 42:48Speaker 1: though it was electric, it was a fake engine sound. Yes. Interesting,
- 42:51Speaker 1: So apparently it was something with their brain where she
- 42:53Speaker 1: didn't hear the sound before it pulled her bla bah.
- 42:55Speaker 1: But I hated the car because I felt like the
- 42:57Speaker 1: biggest douche bag driving a Porsche. To me, that's the
- 43:01Speaker 1: douchiest brand there is. I want the chance to You
- 43:05Speaker 1: could do That's fine, and you can disagree you can disagree.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I always hated because I was always like man and
- 43:10Speaker 1: people would let me on traffic. I think people were
- 43:13Speaker 1: judging me, but I would judge me too, based on
- 43:16Speaker 1: the car you're driving.
- 43:16Speaker 6: Man.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Yeah it's not fair. Okay, thoughts, because I don't have
- 43:21Speaker 1: it anymore, I got rid of it. But what I'm at?
- 43:23Speaker 1: Did you think there was a douchey car, Eddie?
- 43:26Speaker 5: I thought it was Normally a Porsche would be douchey.
- 43:29Speaker 5: I thought the one that you had was classy. Really, yeah,
- 43:31Speaker 5: I liked it.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Maybe just a name I don't know.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Kevin, Yeah, a little bit, I thought, so, yeah, a
- 43:38Speaker 4: little bit like I like the I like the Panamaras.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know what anything is.
- 43:42Speaker 4: Okay, it's more of like the long four door ones.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Those are sweet Porsche Panamera. But like the small little
- 43:49Speaker 4: like two door ones four door though yeah, okay, I
- 43:53Speaker 4: don't know.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I think it's the same kind, except yours is electrical.
- 43:56Speaker 1: O mine was that That's what mine was?
- 43:58Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 43:58Speaker 1: Yeah? Was it?
- 43:59Speaker 2: Really?
- 43:59Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay, then you're the dude.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I'm thinking of another one. Then then no, no.
- 44:05Speaker 7: Read, I think you've rightfully earned it, you know, Iback
- 44:10Speaker 7: no no no no no no, no no no.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Did you think the car was if you just by itself,
- 44:15Speaker 1: would you be like, I bet a douchebag drives that.
- 44:17Speaker 7: No, not at all, really I see that way with
- 44:20Speaker 7: like Camaros and Mustangs, Mustangs.
- 44:22Speaker 1: What is your douchebag mobile? Then, Katie, I was gonna
- 44:26Speaker 1: say Camaro. I feel like, do they even make new ones?
- 44:29Speaker 1: So I feel like Camaros are like eighties though, like
- 44:31Speaker 1: it's like in the in the nineties, seventy one or whatever.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know enough about cars. Uh, okay,
- 44:39Speaker 1: they still make them twenty twenty four Camaro really okay,
- 44:41Speaker 1: So if you see a new one you think douchebag.
- 44:43Speaker 1: What about Mustangs?
- 44:45Speaker 9: You can throw that in there too, Yeah, maybe.
- 44:48Speaker 3: For sure, number one?
- 44:49Speaker 1: What about souped up Mustangs?
- 44:51Speaker 3: Number one?
- 44:53Speaker 2: One?
- 44:54Speaker 1: Okay? Then I don't want to plant anything. What do
- 44:56Speaker 1: you think our douchebag cars?
- 44:58Speaker 7: I had a I had a charger when I first
- 45:00Speaker 7: met you, and it had big pipes on it, and
- 45:02Speaker 7: that was for sure a douche.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Car when you were far douchier.
- 45:07Speaker 7: Yeah, you've kind of yeah, yeah, I'm a little bit
- 45:10Speaker 7: douche big trucks too.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Big big truck, big big truck. Yeah. Okay, so far
- 45:15Speaker 1: you guys haven't said the new car I bought. So
- 45:18Speaker 1: you bought? You said, what about a Lamborghini, Corvette, it's
- 45:22Speaker 1: a Ferrari.
- 45:23Speaker 5: Anyone that drives a Lamborghini to me, it's like big
- 45:26Speaker 5: as douche. Like I don't care if you're a billionaire
- 45:29Speaker 5: and you're driving the Lamb, but you're.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Still a douche.
- 45:31Speaker 9: Did you get a Volkswagen Bug? No, you should have.
- 45:35Speaker 9: Someone would think that about you if you drove that.
- 45:37Speaker 6: You think.
- 45:38Speaker 1: I just want to be that comfortable with a little
- 45:40Speaker 1: flower on it. I wanted it many for a long
- 45:42Speaker 1: time in my life. Cooper. Yeah, never got one though, Okay, No, no, God,
- 45:47Speaker 1: no one. I would never drive a Lamborghini, right, Okay,
- 45:50Speaker 1: it'd be fun to like drive one. No, I won't
- 45:52Speaker 1: be fun to drive one like somewhere. No, And they
- 45:56Speaker 1: they're too low I'd be worried about all the time.
- 46:01Speaker 7: Okay, Corvette, No, you're not kind of douchey, you dot.
- 46:07Speaker 1: That's like the I'm not any of these cars. Just good. Okay,
- 46:10Speaker 1: you've already bought it. I already own it. I'll secretly
- 46:13Speaker 1: show it to you if you want to see it.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Hold can we guess it? No, because I'm not gonna
- 46:18Speaker 1: say yes here, not right now. I don't. It's not
- 46:20Speaker 1: even to I need to make sure that I got
- 46:22Speaker 1: all the play. Everything's got to be off where people
- 46:23Speaker 1: can't track me if they find me, right because the
- 46:26Speaker 1: plates then go to this place. Too many security issues
- 46:30Speaker 1: that people can see a license plate and find stuff.
- 46:32Speaker 1: How many doors does it have? Oh yeah, I wouldn'
- 46:35Speaker 1: I can't drive a two door anything, Eddie. I can
- 46:38Speaker 1: show it to you. Is it the Wiener mobile? That
- 46:43Speaker 1: would be baller? But what the test I wanted to
- 46:45Speaker 1: do here was to see if you guys would mention
- 46:47Speaker 1: my car as a douchebag mobile.
- 46:49Speaker 3: And we did not.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Okay, so here's a picture of it from the front.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on, okay, rotate thet you No, that
- 47:00Speaker 1: was that my old insurance had to turn in. Hold on, Wow, Wow,
- 47:08Speaker 1: that's not douche.
- 47:12Speaker 6: Dang?
- 47:13Speaker 1: Would you drive that? It is that douchey d No?
- 47:16Speaker 1: I was you know what that is? Badass? See, I
- 47:21Speaker 1: was like, even I'm gonna be honest with you. I
- 47:23Speaker 1: was like a little embarrassed to drive it to work.
- 47:29Speaker 1: That was awesome, but I was a litt embarrassed drive
- 47:31Speaker 1: to work. Can you google it and show it's our secret? Man,
- 47:34Speaker 1: that's amazing. I don't know anyone that has one of those.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Would you be embarrassed to drive it to work? I'd
- 47:40Speaker 1: be proud to drive that to work. Okay, I need
- 47:43Speaker 1: to sell my Bronco though. If you wants to buy that.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Oh the fire, why would you answer?
- 47:49Speaker 4: Because like that, I just thought for a second, if
- 47:52Speaker 4: I could buy it, I would be awesome, awesome.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I just don't appreciate cars that much. And we rebuilt
- 47:57Speaker 1: it and it's it's I just if I had, like
- 47:58Speaker 1: a I traded for baseball car. Can you imagine? I'm like, hey, Kaylen,
- 48:02Speaker 1: we're all good. I tried to the Bronco for a
- 48:04Speaker 1: lebron refractor. Your wife like it? My wife was. She's
- 48:12Speaker 1: very much if this is what you want, you should
- 48:17Speaker 1: get it and not worry about what other people think. Yeah. Absolutely,
- 48:20Speaker 1: But she's like that with like things, just generally with me,
- 48:22Speaker 1: because she knows some stuff I do. People are gonna
- 48:24Speaker 1: be like that's stupid, or the fact you have that
- 48:26Speaker 1: opinion stupid, or she's like it doesn't matter. As long
- 48:29Speaker 1: as you are being true to who you are and
- 48:31Speaker 1: what you want and you work for it, you should
- 48:33Speaker 1: get it. I didn't tell her I didn't drive it
- 48:35Speaker 1: to work today. It was embarrassed. She'd be mad at
- 48:38Speaker 1: you for that. I'll have that conversation with her when
- 48:41Speaker 1: I get home.
- 48:41Speaker 5: You know which one I saw that just came out
- 48:43Speaker 5: that I'd like to get the VW But I've always
- 48:46Speaker 5: wanted a VW bus like the old school nineteen.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Fifty seven, make anyone. They made an electric and you electrical.
- 48:51Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 48:52Speaker 5: Cool, And see I have four kids, so like that'd
- 48:55Speaker 5: be awesome to go on a road trip with like
- 48:57Speaker 5: four kids in a bus.
- 48:58Speaker 1: It'd be awesome. And I don't care about cars at all.
- 49:01Speaker 1: But also think about the new van. Is that it's
- 49:03Speaker 1: not going to be breaking down all the time. You
- 49:04Speaker 1: know it looks old? Does it look old?
- 49:06Speaker 6: Though?
- 49:06Speaker 1: Is have the old look? Oh? It doesn't? Has a
- 49:08Speaker 1: new style. It's almost like a hybrid.
- 49:10Speaker 5: It looks like it looks like the old school, but
- 49:13Speaker 5: almost shaped like a mini van Ish kind of Yeah, but.
- 49:17Speaker 1: It doesn't look like that old bwvan.
- 49:19Speaker 5: It's got the similarities to it. But no it's got
- 49:21Speaker 5: it's got a different look to it.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Well, what's cool is that if you buy it new,
- 49:25Speaker 1: it's probably not gonna break down. If you buy an
- 49:26Speaker 1: old one like that it looks cool, it'll break down. Yeah,
- 49:30Speaker 1: uh yeah, okay, hey god asked. That's really cool. The
- 49:37Speaker 1: thing is I drove it yesterday and people were not
- 49:40Speaker 1: They weren't looking at me like they were the Porsche,
- 49:42Speaker 1: which is good. Yeah, I feel like it's not that.
- 49:44Speaker 1: It's not it's pretty unassuming. Yeah. But then my wife's like,
- 49:46Speaker 1: you're crazy. I don't know.
- 49:50Speaker 5: I'm with you, like, I don't think you drive that around.
- 49:52Speaker 5: Everyone's like, oh look at that, right, it's almost like
- 49:55Speaker 5: you kind of blend in.
- 49:56Speaker 1: But a k y kN the sup of letters. I
- 50:00Speaker 1: like that. I y k y k knty. What concert
- 50:07Speaker 1: did you go to on vacation? Oh?
- 50:09Speaker 9: I went to see Lord Huron at the Red Rocks.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Remember her her guy Lord Huron from from the movie
- 50:15Speaker 1: from Uh under the Sea.
- 50:18Speaker 9: That's the bast is that neptub king Neptune?
- 50:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Keptune under the that's uh yeah, what's that movieyeh?
- 50:30Speaker 1: Little King here off the Little Mermaids. He's thinking of
- 50:33Speaker 1: King Triton.
- 50:34Speaker 6: It was a little hard because he was underwater, so
- 50:36Speaker 6: the acoustics were a bit off.
- 50:38Speaker 9: I did get good experience.
- 50:39Speaker 1: How was the show?
- 50:40Speaker 6: Okay, the view alone at the concert venue is enough
- 50:43Speaker 6: of a reason to go, Like, someone could show up
- 50:45Speaker 6: there and just.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Did you say red Rocks? Yes, you say that, you
- 50:48Speaker 1: didn't this time? Okay, right the day?
- 50:51Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, red Rocks, red Rocks Amphitheater. The view alone
- 50:54Speaker 6: is enough of a reason to go there. You could
- 50:56Speaker 6: just have someone get up there and start reciting calculus
- 50:59Speaker 6: forms and it would still be a good time, just
- 51:01Speaker 6: because the view is so good.
- 51:02Speaker 1: That's cool. Yeah, the show was good.
- 51:04Speaker 9: The show was good, and there was a lightning storm
- 51:06Speaker 9: in the background.
- 51:07Speaker 1: So they didn't cut the show.
- 51:09Speaker 9: Well, it wasn't near us.
- 51:10Speaker 6: It was way off in the distance, so behind the
- 51:13Speaker 6: band you can see lightning and hear the thunder a
- 51:15Speaker 6: little bit.
- 51:15Speaker 9: It was really cool that it was really deep.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Well, that's fun. Yeah, what did you do? Did she
- 51:21Speaker 1: win an award? Did you win an award or something? Oh,
- 51:24Speaker 1: I feel like there's something I'm missing. Yeah, what did
- 51:26Speaker 1: you do during the last week, during the last week,
- 51:28Speaker 1: the last two weeks, I don't know. Well, let's see
- 51:30Speaker 1: it was the award.
- 51:31Speaker 9: Well the award? Is it what I posted on Instagram?
- 51:33Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 51:34Speaker 6: Oh, I was doing like a little catchup dump on
- 51:36Speaker 6: my sports Instagram account, just things that might have missed.
- 51:38Speaker 6: So in October of twenty three, a team that I
- 51:41Speaker 6: worked on we won an Emmy.
- 51:42Speaker 1: You posted something from October twenty three. Yeah, because that's
- 51:45Speaker 1: a big dump that you want an Emmy.
- 51:49Speaker 9: I did win an Emmy for what.
- 51:53Speaker 6: With my internship with Hogs Plus, we did a one
- 51:55Speaker 6: time sports special about the nineteen ninety eight women's basketball
- 51:58Speaker 6: team that went to the Final Four for Arkansas, and
- 52:00Speaker 6: we got an Emmy for it.
- 52:01Speaker 1: So it's yeah, yeah, do you get a trophy?
- 52:03Speaker 9: I do have it at my house. It's a pretty nice.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Piece of Emmy Award winning about you. Yeah.
- 52:08Speaker 9: Yeah, it's on my resume.
- 52:10Speaker 1: You need to start with that. That should be your
- 52:12Speaker 1: new name.
- 52:14Speaker 9: Instagram.
- 52:16Speaker 1: That's cool. Congratulations So that was pretty cool.
- 52:18Speaker 5: I didn't know that I knew from that shot she
- 52:20Speaker 5: did at Saint Louis that she was an Emmy Award.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Reads leaving in like nine months, I got to find
- 52:25Speaker 1: a new person anyway, my Emmy Award winner. Maybe hey,
- 52:29Speaker 1: ball's right in place.
- 52:31Speaker 9: Stars.
- 52:31Speaker 1: A line read what did you do last couple of days?
- 52:34Speaker 7: The last couple of days celebrated Maddie's birthday. We got
- 52:37Speaker 7: some massages, we ate some good food. And then as
- 52:41Speaker 7: I was pulling into my house yesterday, I realized I
- 52:44Speaker 7: left my wallet at a gas station four hours back.
- 52:47Speaker 1: No way Palestine way read Oh my god, what'd you do? I?
- 52:54Speaker 7: Luckily I put a tracker in it? So I pulled
- 52:59Speaker 7: into Taco Bill.
- 53:00Speaker 1: I know it was late. I'm supposed to be eating
- 53:06Speaker 1: good but anyway, oh that's true, and think about that. Yeah,
- 53:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna text Kevin right now. Please please read read
- 53:14Speaker 1: eight Taco bell all weekend? All right? Go ahead? Oh man?
- 53:17Speaker 7: So anyway, yeah, I went to go pay, and I
- 53:19Speaker 7: was like, oh god, please, no, please, because the last
- 53:22Speaker 7: thing I did was I pulled into a gas station
- 53:24Speaker 7: in Palestine, Arkansas, four hours back.
- 53:27Speaker 1: How'd you get it back?
- 53:28Speaker 6: Or are you?
- 53:29Speaker 3: Uh?
- 53:29Speaker 1: You call him?
- 53:30Speaker 7: I called my dad because he's like an hour and
- 53:32Speaker 7: twenty minutes away from there.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Your poor dad's got to go drive an hour and
- 53:35Speaker 1: a half three hours were going to go get it
- 53:37Speaker 1: up and back. You do that for your kids, good
- 53:39Speaker 1: for me. He's an adult man, he sick her own man.
- 53:46Speaker 7: Yeah, but I called him and I was like, I
- 53:48Speaker 7: got to add I got a tracker on it, and
- 53:50Speaker 7: so I know it's there and they're like, yeah, we
- 53:51Speaker 7: got it, kept it in the office.
- 53:53Speaker 1: So that sucks. But the weekend was great. Other than that,
- 53:58Speaker 1: that sucks.
- 53:59Speaker 5: I'm not going to judgement. I left my wallet in Fayette,
- 54:02Speaker 5: Arkansas on a park bench.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but you were five minutes away and you were drunk,
- 54:05Speaker 1: that's true. And I didn't call my dad to go
- 54:06Speaker 1: get Yeah, no, we know we had to wait for
- 54:08Speaker 1: you and it's our flight. I was drunk, Yeah, all right,
- 54:12Speaker 1: Kevin Cmas.
- 54:13Speaker 4: Yeah. I went one day Saturday, went down Broadway a
- 54:15Speaker 4: little bit and then went to a send and saw
- 54:17Speaker 4: Tracy Lawrence was hosting something with like Riley Green, Chris Young,
- 54:21Speaker 4: a couple of other people.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Are you and your girl like all out out now,
- 54:24Speaker 1: all out out? Like we're together? Yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 3: Once it was on the podcast, it became real official,
- 54:28Speaker 3: you know.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, that's it. I think We're done. Everybody,
- 54:32Speaker 1: good show, Thanks man, Thanks you too. Go Celtics man,
- 54:37Speaker 1: Why they play again Tuesday?
- 54:38Speaker 3: Wednesday?
- 54:40Speaker 1: Really? I guess I got travel all the way across
- 54:42Speaker 1: the country. Do you see the Stanley Cup playoffs or
- 54:44Speaker 1: the farthest ever. It's from like Florida to Ontario or.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Auto where Edmonton.
- 54:49Speaker 1: It's like twenty five hundred miles every trip.
- 54:51Speaker 5: Well, you want to add another country in there. Yeah,
- 54:54Speaker 5: that's what you're gonna get.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's way up there too. It's far, dude, But
- 54:57Speaker 1: it's the farthest ever. So it's not Yeah, the what
- 55:00Speaker 1: you're gonna get that would be happening every time. It's
- 55:03Speaker 1: literally the farthest ever. Well, I guess those two teams
- 55:05Speaker 1: have never played each other. And Florida's kind of Florida's
- 55:07Speaker 1: the very bottom of the country. You know, you go
- 55:09Speaker 1: anywhere else, Eddie Douche, I'll drive your car. Card shops
- 55:16Speaker 1: in France, man, I'm not leaving. I will do another
- 55:19Speaker 1: show before I go to France, and I will not
- 55:21Speaker 1: go to France to a card shop. I don't have time.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I'm telling you, it's the stupidest shop ever. You gotta
- 55:25Speaker 1: make time, dude. It's not stupid in that I'll go
- 55:27Speaker 1: do it and do a good job and represent for
- 55:30Speaker 1: the company. And what I'm doing right, I'm going to
- 55:32Speaker 1: speaking on these advertising boards. But I don't think I'll have.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Time for your wife going to the card shop.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Probably it's just I'm gonna work the whole time, so
- 55:42Speaker 1: I don't know. If she wants to she can.
- 55:44Speaker 2: That's tough.
- 55:45Speaker 5: But oh man, if my wife had to go work somewhere,
- 55:48Speaker 5: I'd definitely tag along go do what I want to
- 55:50Speaker 5: do while she.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Worked in France, Yeah, you would go. Oh yeah, i'd
- 55:54Speaker 1: go see the Mona Lisa, the Eiffel Tower. We're not Jesus.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Why what are I going to Paris? Where you go? Oh? Yeah, yeah,
- 56:02Speaker 1: you're going to Cans Cans.
- 56:03Speaker 3: Oh, Kansas?
- 56:04Speaker 2: Cool?
- 56:04Speaker 1: You go to the beach?
- 56:05Speaker 4: Got a master from Cans Yeah yeah, ye think the
- 56:08Speaker 4: Dane Cans you did?
- 56:09Speaker 1: Huh?
- 56:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I've been there, Like there, beachy beach on the coast,
- 56:14Speaker 4: nice relaxing.
- 56:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's cool, cool little city.
- 56:16Speaker 1: What about if you're just gonna work the whole time.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that's tough. She can have fung and lay out
- 56:20Speaker 3: on the beach.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Or something, but working to Yes, she can go she wants,
- 56:24Speaker 1: she probably will. I don't know what she has planned,
- 56:26Speaker 1: but yeah, that's it. We'll see you guys later on
- 56:28Speaker 1: this week and go MAVs. No MAVs in seven. I
