- 0:23Speaker 2: Do you know? I feel like we could pull a
- 0:25Speaker 2: compilation of like these couple of episodes from the last
- 0:28Speaker 2: four or five years. And every time, how's the concert? Quick?
- 0:34Speaker 1: Every year it's me every time I get my period,
- 0:36Speaker 1: been like what totally like, oh my god, no, this
- 0:39Speaker 1: is the worst one.
- 0:40Speaker 2: This is definitely the worst one to date.
- 0:42Speaker 1: And like at the end of every year it's been like, well, goalie,
- 0:46Speaker 1: didn't that go by?
- 0:47Speaker 2: Like a quick bash from the hot Pean.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's crazy mental, I'm so excited for the Christmas
- 0:53Speaker 1: break through. Me too, That's what everybody's saying. Yeah, there's
- 0:56Speaker 1: something in there. I'm running on fume speech. It's been
- 0:59Speaker 1: a year, it's been an amazing year. But in the
- 1:02Speaker 1: world there's been a lot going on. Do you know
- 1:04Speaker 1: how I know that I'm like getting to the end
- 1:07Speaker 1: of the year and I'm like, okay, let's wrap. Let's
- 1:10Speaker 1: wrap this, Let's wrap the show up, guys, because I
- 1:12Speaker 1: wake up and I go, is it the weekend? That's
- 1:16Speaker 1: how I like every day. And I'm going I'm like, no,
- 1:20Speaker 1: it's not, it's not It's a Thursday. Fuck like, that's
- 1:23Speaker 1: not a bad Thursday's not a bad day. But I
- 1:26Speaker 1: like Thursdays, Thursdays and the number seven?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Same thing? Do you agree? And also the letter I oh,
- 1:32Speaker 2: really yeah, I'd say the letter are no towards the end.
- 1:37Speaker 2: It's kind of in that.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Like eyes, like a strong middle ground, Like an eye
- 1:43Speaker 1: is always in the middle of words.
- 1:45Speaker 2: It's like I think of it where it is in
- 1:47Speaker 2: the alphabet. Yeah.
- 1:48Speaker 1: No, I don't think about it that way. I think
- 1:50Speaker 1: of like an eye is like them. It's like a
- 1:52Speaker 1: good letter.
- 1:55Speaker 2: People like this is no people will agree with me.
- 1:58Speaker 2: This is important. Climbs a table.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I would, okay, fine to the internet? What letter
- 2:09Speaker 1: is the day? Thursday letter association, Thursdays and number seven
- 2:15Speaker 1: and it's the letter I in my opinion, that's just
- 2:19Speaker 1: my opinion.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It's or ticked up from someone. Wait, let me find it.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It's funny.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Couldn't pay me to leave my differing opinion below someone
- 2:27Speaker 3: else's post. If I don't like something, I scroll. I
- 2:29Speaker 3: scroll like you'll never catch me below someone else's post
- 2:33Speaker 3: being like, actually, that's not.
- 2:36Speaker 4: A factual statement.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Grow By, I get thirty seconds of clearheaded this a day.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I'm not using my one lucid moment to leave my
- 2:44Speaker 3: craft macaroni and cheese comment.
- 2:46Speaker 2: No way.
- 2:48Speaker 3: And some of you are out there fighting the good fight.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Good for you, God bless But like some of you
- 2:52Speaker 3: are in my comments.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Leaving full fledged thesis statements about something I never gave
- 2:57Speaker 4: a shit about to begin with. Can you imagine spending
- 3:02Speaker 4: five minutes writing a full fledged paragraph only.
- 3:05Speaker 3: To be blocked the lead in and blocked.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yo? Could yo?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah? I wholeheartedly agree facts.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I feel like that's the thing that we can all
- 3:18Speaker 1: embrace a little bit or maybe potentially, I feel like
- 3:20Speaker 1: anyone listening to this episode because everyone's cool. But yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 1: if I ever saw like someone that I was like
- 3:25Speaker 1: best friends with, like leaving a hate comment, I would
- 3:29Speaker 1: be so embarrassed.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Same, especially over shit that doesn't matter.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Like, sure, if you're calling somebody out for something like
- 3:37Speaker 2: that's legitimately wrong. Yeah, but most of the time people
- 3:41Speaker 2: aren't yeah, they just want to disagree. Anyway, what's your
- 3:44Speaker 2: obsession at the week. Okay, my obsession of the week
- 3:47Speaker 2: is that Rolling Stone just dropped the top one hundred
- 3:50Speaker 2: songs of twenty twenty five. I know, so I'll link
- 3:54Speaker 2: the whole article in the show notes because we don't
- 3:56Speaker 2: have time to go through.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So the songs had to come out in twenty twenty five. Yeah, okay, yeah, okay,
- 4:02Speaker 1: in the top ten. Yeah, let's top ten.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I'm locked in. Wait, I have to guess.
- 4:05Speaker 1: My Spotify age was sixty seven, so like, this isn't
- 4:09Speaker 1: going to go well for me.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I'm going to put a chapel rone in there.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yeah, obviously the Subway came out this year, so maybe
- 4:16Speaker 1: that won't. Renee Rap I think I like you better. Oh,
- 4:20Speaker 1: Olivia Dean absolutely, maybe, man I need and maybe dancing
- 4:25Speaker 1: to Kelly Holiday.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Those are my my guesses. I will say the list
- 4:29Speaker 2: is American. Ah, most of those. I think we're right.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But I reckon that Kelly Holiday is going to be
- 4:36Speaker 2: in like the top five of the Yeah. I really
- 4:38Speaker 2: like he's dancing too. It's so fun. Oh same, I'm
- 4:42Speaker 2: dancing too. It's like a crying on the dance law song,
- 4:44Speaker 2: which is one of my favorite genres of all the time. Okay,
- 4:48Speaker 2: so should I run that?
- 4:49Speaker 1: Just when you said that, I just had flashbacks to
- 4:52Speaker 1: the scene in the Summer I turned pretty where Belly's
- 4:55Speaker 1: dancing and she's having flashbacks to Conrad and we can't
- 4:58Speaker 1: be friends is playing.
- 4:59Speaker 5: I miss con Radfisher. I'm just gonna say it.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I miss him.
- 5:02Speaker 5: I miss him biblically. I miss him like he is.
- 5:06Speaker 1: A genuine, real friend or lover person in my life.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Like when clips come up, I feel lighter. I truly
- 5:18Speaker 1: have a parasocial relationship with a man that doesn't exist.
- 5:22Speaker 2: He's your husband that went to war and you're like
- 5:24Speaker 2: waiting in your when will he return to?
- 5:26Speaker 1: I miss Conrad Fisher so fucking much, like I want
- 5:31Speaker 1: to hear him every day, Like when he's like I
- 5:33Speaker 1: would rather use a nail gun to their head than
- 5:37Speaker 1: hear I'm like, yes, Connie baby, bring him back.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I need the movie and like him fully sorry back
- 5:47Speaker 2: on our screens a number ten the subway chaffle right does.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Okay, I'm way too competitive with this.
- 5:54Speaker 1: It's giving most him of being like, what do you
- 5:57Speaker 1: mean that's not fair?
- 5:58Speaker 2: I need to calm down. Yeah, that's okay, you're allowed
- 6:01Speaker 2: to celebrate. Number nine Kendrick Lamar and Scissa Luther. That
- 6:05Speaker 2: makes sense. Yeah. Number eight the fate of Opheilure, Taylor
- 6:10Speaker 2: Swear Fun. That was I've embarrassed. I will say some
- 6:16Speaker 2: of these I don't know, okay, and again we're not
- 6:19Speaker 2: cool though we're not We're not cool in him, But
- 6:21Speaker 2: that's okay. Number seven Young Boy Never Broke Again, shot called.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I know I would have seen.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I feel like that was a tiktokie song, okay, yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 1: but if I heard it, yeah, yeah, I've definitely seen
- 6:32Speaker 1: like that. Artist und around the town.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Number six Manchild Sabrina Carpenter. Am I fucking stupid?
- 6:42Speaker 5: I missed Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Sleep.
- 6:45Speaker 2: That's okay. Almost don't even feel like Manchild came out
- 6:48Speaker 2: this year. It feels like it's been in our lives
- 6:50Speaker 2: for so long. Number five folded by killany. Number four.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I don't know how to pronounce this one because it's
- 6:57Speaker 2: a bad bunny song, so I think it might be Spanish. Okay,
- 7:01Speaker 2: that's okay, just give you a best I think it's
- 7:03Speaker 2: ballet involdible. I'm sorry, Nail deck. I also haven't heard
- 7:09Speaker 2: the song, so I don't actually know, but I think
- 7:11Speaker 2: that I didn't know you were bilingual all that time
- 7:15Speaker 2: in Barcelona. Really yeah yeah, But I think.
- 7:18Speaker 5: He's never been wider, has never been wider.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I think that he's surpassed Taylor Swift as the most
- 7:25Speaker 2: streamed artist this year, which is pretty incredible, and he's
- 7:29Speaker 2: performing at the super Bowl next year.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So I also just like love his energy. He's like
- 7:34Speaker 1: carpool karaoke when he's singing Ariana Grande and he's like,
- 7:37Speaker 1: this is the song that I know the most English.
- 7:40Speaker 2: And he's like, this is yeah, but.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Where is it?
- 7:44Speaker 2: I was like, smash yeah, yeah, you're hot. That's my
- 7:46Speaker 2: favorite Ariana song too.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Really yeah, okay, sorry, I'm this is taking seven years
- 7:51Speaker 1: to get through.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I'm fun, okay. Number three Golden K Pop Demon Hunters.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I like that song.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I like it's a bit of you. Yep.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Number two Okay.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Crunch Time Top three Songs of twenty twenty five Golden
- 8:08Speaker 1: K Pop Dean Hunters.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Number two Dancing in the Club MJ Linderman and this
- 8:14Speaker 2: is Laurle.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I can hand on my heart say I've never heard
- 8:19Speaker 1: that song in my life, but I will be listening
- 8:21Speaker 1: to it in the car on the way home.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a bit of me. I'm excited to investigate
- 8:26Speaker 2: that first because it does sound good. And number one,
- 8:29Speaker 2: do you have any final guesses? I'm gonna go with
- 8:32Speaker 2: a Taylor Swift.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Yeah, because I'm stupid and I can't believe I didn't.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Think of that.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And I'm gonna say opaolite Taylor Swift lock.
- 8:42Speaker 2: It in no, because I don't feel like i'm right, Okay.
- 8:49Speaker 2: The number one song of twenty twenty five, according to
- 8:52Speaker 2: Rolling Stone and to me, is Abra Cadabra by Lady Gaga.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yes, apsel fuckingly absolutely.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Head out of ten. Yeah, yeah, no notes. Easily my
- 9:08Speaker 2: favorite song of the whole year. Yeah, easily my favorite
- 9:10Speaker 2: new album the whole year too. Oh my god, I
- 9:14Speaker 2: didn't I know. Are we going to see her next week?
- 9:17Speaker 2: I can't wait to celebrate with hair. This is it's again.
- 9:20Speaker 2: It's not my fault. I'm sixty seven. Yeah, that's fine, okay,
- 9:23Speaker 2: And it's hard to think of this.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Is that like the most like actually the most like
- 9:28Speaker 1: listened to songs. It's like an editorial selection too, Okay, so.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Rolling Stone and I just we just don't agree. I
- 9:36Speaker 2: can't believe Olivia Dean wasn't in there. She'll probably be
- 9:39Speaker 2: in the top twenty or something. Well, should we tell
- 9:42Speaker 2: the chicks of the episodes about today?
- 9:43Speaker 5: Oh yeah, this is basically the whole fucking thing.
- 9:46Speaker 2: We're just talking for half an hour. I know, I
- 9:49Speaker 2: feel that we need to do more episodes like that.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Just sit down and year.
- 9:52Speaker 1: But today we are doing a performance review of our
- 9:55Speaker 1: purchases for the year. We're doing best and worst buys
- 10:00Speaker 1: investments purchases of twenty twenty five, and we've asked you
- 10:03Speaker 1: chicks to send yours in for us to discuss.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Agree, disagree.
- 10:09Speaker 5: But before we get into it, South, did you have
- 10:11Speaker 5: any best purchases that you wanted to share?
- 10:14Speaker 2: So one of the best investments that I made at
- 10:16Speaker 2: the very beginning of the year, I think I made
- 10:18Speaker 2: this purchase on the second of January WHOA this year
- 10:22Speaker 2: was six glass containers from Ika. They're four dollars fifty each.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And I remember, you're so passionate about this the like
- 10:32Speaker 1: the head bobble.
- 10:33Speaker 2: There were so many reasons why I wanted to buy
- 10:35Speaker 2: it and why it has been why. They have been
- 10:36Speaker 2: one of the greatest investments of my of my whole years,
- 10:40Speaker 2: so passionate. I love it. We've spoken about this on
- 10:43Speaker 2: the podcast before that in previous years, like one of
- 10:45Speaker 2: my goals has been to order less, uber eat spend
- 10:48Speaker 2: less money on like going to the supermarket, you know,
- 10:52Speaker 2: five times a week because you don't actually plan your
- 10:54Speaker 2: meals properly and then you end up buying too much
- 10:56Speaker 2: stuff and food wastage and all of that. So my
- 10:59Speaker 2: boyfriend and I were like, that's it, we need to
- 11:01Speaker 2: buy new containers. We have like a system, Like they're
- 11:04Speaker 2: big enough, they're not plastics, so they don't like get
- 11:08Speaker 2: stained from a spaghetti bolonaise after one use that thing.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And they're like sturdy and good you can take them
- 11:13Speaker 2: to work and all of that. But also because we
- 11:15Speaker 2: live in a small apartment, something that is good for
- 11:19Speaker 2: storage and that you can stack together and like fits
- 11:21Speaker 2: together anyway, I feel like these containers are the reason
- 11:26Speaker 2: that I've been able to meal prep so well pretty
- 11:29Speaker 2: much consistently all year. But also I was looking at
- 11:32Speaker 2: like one of my go to meal preps and it
- 11:35Speaker 2: costs twenty four dollars and thirty one cents to make
- 11:39Speaker 2: and I get four to six meals out of it,
- 11:42Speaker 2: so that's six to four dollars per meal. Yeah, And
- 11:46Speaker 2: I think before that, I'd always be like, oh, like
- 11:48Speaker 2: I don't want to eat the same thing every day,
- 11:50Speaker 2: or just the idea of meal prepping was really boring
- 11:52Speaker 2: or seem too hard to do. And these containers have
- 11:55Speaker 2: really changed my life. Yeah, so I recommend one of
- 12:00Speaker 2: those boring purchases that you're just like fuck like yeah,
- 12:03Speaker 2: but honestly, it's like live life change. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 12:08Speaker 2: I love that. Yeah, what about you.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I feel like we were talking about this the other day,
- 12:12Speaker 1: and not to like toot my own horn, but I
- 12:16Speaker 1: feel like the hair game this year.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I feel like I've just leveled it up a little bit.
- 12:21Speaker 1: My hair this year has been raally goop in terms
- 12:24Speaker 1: of like my hair health.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It's just shiny and all of that stuff.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And there's like a couple purchases that were all rolled
- 12:31Speaker 1: into that, and we do get a lot of questions
- 12:33Speaker 1: on like.
- 12:34Speaker 5: Hair routine and hair care routine.
- 12:36Speaker 1: So I thought it finally shit, yeah, because we've kind
- 12:39Speaker 1: of done like little tidbits here and there, and obviously
- 12:41Speaker 1: this is always ever changing because we try a lot
- 12:44Speaker 1: of products due to the nature of our workies. But
- 12:47Speaker 1: the products that I've noticed had the biggest difference on
- 12:51Speaker 1: my hair in twenty twenty five was number one. And
- 12:55Speaker 1: I know this is actually going to be controversial. A
- 12:56Speaker 1: butte me in the butt a bit later in the
- 12:58Speaker 1: episode was my dice in era. And I think that
- 13:02Speaker 1: is because every time I wash my hair, I blow
- 13:06Speaker 1: dry it after, and you would think that would cause
- 13:10Speaker 1: more damage to your hair, but it actually doesn't. To
- 13:14Speaker 1: leave your hair wet and let it air dry can
- 13:17Speaker 1: actually cause more damage to your hair then using a
- 13:21Speaker 1: heat protector and blow drying it. The follicles of your
- 13:24Speaker 1: hair is more open when it's wet, so it's easier
- 13:28Speaker 1: to damage. That's why when like hair dresses see people
- 13:31Speaker 1: like straightening wet hair, they're like they're like, don't do that,
- 13:34Speaker 1: or like that's why it's really bad to like rush
- 13:37Speaker 1: really like wet hair, because it's really damaging to your hair.
- 13:40Speaker 2: And I notice it if my hair.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Air dries, it's like no product or like conditioner or
- 13:44Speaker 1: whatever in their Like, my hair just goes so frizzy
- 13:47Speaker 1: and dry and hard, like the ends are hard. Yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 1: So that's been like the one thing that I've been
- 13:53Speaker 1: doing in that routine, obviously using like a heat styling protector,
- 13:57Speaker 1: and anyone is good to use to be hones, I've
- 14:00Speaker 1: been using like the GHD one and then the Laurel
- 14:04Speaker 1: Absolute Repair shampoo and conditioner. Eh, my god, ten out
- 14:09Speaker 1: of ten. You can get it from Chemis ware House.
- 14:11Speaker 1: The first wash, I noticed a difference in my hair.
- 14:13Speaker 2: My hair feels so fucking clean. It's insane. It's so good.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I love it. And then literally a hair oil.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So the one that I really like at the moment
- 14:24Speaker 1: is that Nooks and Uxe.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Oh yeah, Nucks Nooks. It's French.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I know you're talking about their body oil.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's an oil for everything, so you can
- 14:37Speaker 1: use it on your body, you can use it on
- 14:39Speaker 1: your hair, you can use it like.
- 14:40Speaker 5: It's multi use, which is why I really like. And
- 14:42Speaker 5: it smells dive in.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And then the final thing that I think has really
- 14:47Speaker 1: made such a big difference in like the shininess is
- 14:50Speaker 1: the karasilk keratin treatment that we both had and it
- 14:54Speaker 1: was like a partnership we did with them, but I'd
- 14:56Speaker 1: had one previously and I really really loved it. Hence
- 14:58Speaker 1: where I was like, yeah, happy to work with them
- 15:00Speaker 1: on this, and yeah, I feel like that's had such
- 15:03Speaker 1: a big difference in my hair health. So to summarize
- 15:06Speaker 1: which when I know people are getting disagree with, but
- 15:09Speaker 1: that's fine, Dice and air app the Laurel Absolute Repair
- 15:13Speaker 1: shampoo and conditioner, blow drying your hair after you wash
- 15:17Speaker 1: it with a heat protectant.
- 15:19Speaker 5: And the Nukes oil.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And finally the Karasilk eratin treatment that was ten out
- 15:25Speaker 1: of ten and so quick.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 15:28Speaker 1: My best investment of twenty twenty five is my Kindle
- 15:32Speaker 1: Unlimited membership. So if you haven't heard of this, you
- 15:37Speaker 1: might have heard of it. If you haven't, it's basically
- 15:41Speaker 1: a monthly subscription where you can just get books for free,
- 15:47Speaker 1: like as many as you want that are available in
- 15:50Speaker 1: Kindle Unlimited, and you basically borrow the books.
- 15:52Speaker 2: And I think you can borrow.
- 15:54Speaker 1: As many as twenty at once, and then when you
- 15:57Speaker 1: finish it, you just put like you give it back,
- 16:00Speaker 1: like you just return it to the Kindle Unlimited library.
- 16:03Speaker 5: Yeah, and then you can borrow another one.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:06Speaker 1: So like if you read a lot of books, it's
- 16:09Speaker 1: such a.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Cost efficient way and you would think, oh yeah, but
- 16:11Speaker 2: it's gonna have shit books, No, it doesn't.
- 16:14Speaker 1: You get books like The Housemaid, which obviously is a
- 16:17Speaker 1: best seller, Quicksilver by Cali Hart. You can also get
- 16:21Speaker 1: like self help books like The Alchemist Subtle out of
- 16:24Speaker 1: not giving a fuck, Like there are so many books
- 16:27Speaker 1: available in Kindle unlimited that half the time when I
- 16:30Speaker 1: go to, like download a book on Kindle to read it,
- 16:33Speaker 1: it's in the membership, Like it's so cost efficient because
- 16:37Speaker 1: you know, books are so expensive now, like and obviously
- 16:41Speaker 1: as well, like there is the part of the conversation
- 16:44Speaker 1: of like, you know, buying the books to support authors
- 16:46Speaker 1: as well, which I do think is incredibly valid, and
- 16:49Speaker 1: also supporting small bookshops and indie authors. But there is
- 16:53Speaker 1: the part of the conversation of cost of living as well,
- 16:56Speaker 1: and can people really afford to be paying you know,
- 17:00Speaker 1: thirty five to forty dollars per book when they read a.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Lot of books.
- 17:04Speaker 1: There's obviously two parts to that conversation that I think
- 17:07Speaker 1: if you can support you know, small bookshops, indie authors
- 17:10Speaker 1: and all of that stuff, do that when you can.
- 17:13Speaker 1: But this is a great way if you do read
- 17:15Speaker 1: a lot of books and you know, feeling the Cozi
- 17:18Speaker 1: Lives vibes.
- 17:19Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It's amazing for summer as well, because I feel like
- 17:23Speaker 1: I just churned through books and because how often do
- 17:26Speaker 1: you really go back and reread the books in your kindle?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Like very rarely. Well, you're just read.
- 17:32Speaker 1: You can just read download it, Yeah, like if you
- 17:34Speaker 1: wanted to just do that. If I really like book,
- 17:37Speaker 1: I buy the physical version, yeah, especially if the cover
- 17:39Speaker 1: is beautiful.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and you want it as part of a series
- 17:42Speaker 2: or yeah that's also not custifishent but whatever?
- 17:47Speaker 5: Okay, shall we get into the Chicks Best Investments.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Best purchase of the year according to The Chicks in
- 17:53Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Okay, number one best purchase from the
- 17:56Speaker 1: Chicks my Ura ring. So there was heaps that came
- 18:00Speaker 1: through for this.
- 18:02Speaker 2: We both bought Ora.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Rings last year and we've been testing them for a year.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I have mixed thoughts on it, so do I, and
- 18:09Speaker 2: we spoke about it earlier this year, and I feel
- 18:11Speaker 2: like my feelings have changed a little bit even since then,
- 18:14Speaker 2: which I think can happen with any purchase.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yea.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Initially, when I got the Ura ring, I did really
- 18:20Speaker 2: like it. I've never used any sort of fitness tracker
- 18:22Speaker 2: before beyond just the health app on my iPhone. So
- 18:26Speaker 2: I really did enjoy it because you do get really
- 18:28Speaker 2: good insights in terms of like your steps in your activity.
- 18:32Speaker 2: The period tracker I found really really helpful because it
- 18:35Speaker 2: monitors your body temperature and things like that. So sometimes
- 18:39Speaker 2: I would be stressed if my period was late or
- 18:41Speaker 2: if it was you know, if I was feeling like
- 18:44Speaker 2: PMS symptoms early, I'd be like, what's going on? And
- 18:47Speaker 2: then I'd be able to see that, like my body
- 18:48Speaker 2: temperature had gone up, and I'd be like, oh, it's
- 18:50Speaker 2: because like my period's still coming, or like I could
- 18:54Speaker 2: just track that with a little bit more clarity, which
- 18:56Speaker 2: I felt was really helpful. And then also the sleep
- 18:59Speaker 2: track too, because I've never used any sort of sleep
- 19:02Speaker 2: tracking before, and it really helped me realize, like, oh,
- 19:05Speaker 2: if I have a Coke zero with dinner, then that
- 19:09Speaker 2: means like I can see that that that's going to
- 19:11Speaker 2: have an impact on my sleep, or if I drink alcohol,
- 19:14Speaker 2: how that impacts my sleep, And it helped me, you know,
- 19:18Speaker 2: make some of those other lifestyle changes to help me
- 19:22Speaker 2: prioritize my sleep health. So I did really really enjoy
- 19:25Speaker 2: it However, I think maybe what like probably three months
- 19:30Speaker 2: ago now, Al was saying to me, oh, Rob, her partner,
- 19:34Speaker 2: had noticed that the battery life in his order ring
- 19:37Speaker 2: had dropped significantly. And it's supposed to last like what
- 19:40Speaker 2: four to five days or something.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I swear it says it's supposed to last like a week,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and mine also stopped lasting long.
- 19:49Speaker 2: So the thing with that is like, it's really really good.
- 19:53Speaker 2: I really like it.
- 19:54Speaker 1: The downfall was that, you know, it's close to one
- 19:57Speaker 1: thousand dollars of what when we bought it because we
- 19:59Speaker 1: had to from the US, it wasn't in Australia. Yeah,
- 20:02Speaker 1: I think now it sits at around seven hundred to
- 20:03Speaker 1: eight hundred for the gold. Right, for something that costs
- 20:06Speaker 1: that much in a year, battery shouldn't be dying as
- 20:08Speaker 1: quickly as it was. But in saying that, I will
- 20:12Speaker 1: say that their customer service was really strong and really
- 20:16Speaker 1: good and as soon as Rob Black messaged them about it,
- 20:19Speaker 1: they looked and had could see that it was dying
- 20:22Speaker 1: really quickly like the battery, and they replaced it straight away.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So like, yes, that's annoying.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You shouldn't have to actually go to customer service and
- 20:30Speaker 1: like maybe it was like only a certain batch of
- 20:32Speaker 1: the product, but like mine did it and then yours
- 20:36Speaker 1: did it.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and so currently it's like it only gives me
- 20:40Speaker 2: about just over twenty four hours worth of battery, which
- 20:45Speaker 2: just is an ideal because sometimes you forget to charge
- 20:49Speaker 2: and then I'll like open up the app to look
- 20:50Speaker 2: at my sleeve analytics and I'm like, fuck, like it
- 20:53Speaker 2: died while I was sleaving, and that's really annoying. It's
- 20:55Speaker 2: really annoying.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Someone said a sunrise alarm clock ooh, which a bit
- 21:02Speaker 2: of a trend. I really like the alarm clocks, but
- 21:07Speaker 2: I like it more because I enjoy the like color
- 21:10Speaker 2: of like going to bed.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I like how it incorporates into an evening routine. M
- 21:15Speaker 1: I feel like my room gets pretty light with the
- 21:17Speaker 1: sun anyway. Yeah, and yeah, I don't necessarily think it's
- 21:22Speaker 1: completely like transformed my life, but it has benefited it.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, does that make sense? Yeah, totally. A lot of
- 21:29Speaker 2: people said robovas and robot vacuums, which we both also
- 21:33Speaker 2: got in the last year, and I would agree.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Is I think mine's changed my life.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I really like it. I feel like it's really helped
- 21:41Speaker 2: with the midweek cleaning routine and like staying on top
- 21:44Speaker 2: of things, and I feel like it's helped reduce how
- 21:46Speaker 2: much time I have to spend cleaning the house on
- 21:48Speaker 2: a Saturday, which is really nice. And I agree. Yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 2: you can get them for like a range of prices too,
- 21:53Speaker 2: which is good.
- 21:54Speaker 1: We'll do a quick fire of the worst impulse cheap
- 21:59Speaker 1: deep Hop per Ooh.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That's the hard thing with deep Hop is that you
- 22:04Speaker 1: can't return items. Yeah, and that I feel like I've
- 22:08Speaker 1: been burned by a few things on there as well.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Mecha holiday sets ooh tea spending ten thousand dollars for
- 22:18Speaker 2: in visiline that I never wear my teeth aren't even bad.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Someone said flower delivery, Oh you looked into that as
- 22:26Speaker 2: a potential GI so expensive. I agree with that.
- 22:29Speaker 1: A lot of things are like active where uber eats.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Someone said tanning pills, don't buy those.
- 22:37Speaker 2: That's scary. I was gonna say that sounds terrifying being
- 22:40Speaker 2: a part of the Laboo bu phase. Oh so true.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Useless juice cleanse lmeos oh a three hundred dollars taxi ride.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I've had one of those before when I lived in Wollongong.
- 22:54Speaker 1: That sucks gin membership, loll relatable international plane ticket, it's
- 23:00Speaker 1: to see my ex.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fair. Food from my school canteen. I there
- 23:10Speaker 2: was never a school canteen purchase that I regretted, say
- 23:13Speaker 2: I missed them funly, Yeah, bring them back.
- 23:15Speaker 5: We need school canteens for adults.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Everyone's like, it's a cafe, not the same. So I
- 23:21Speaker 2: want to be able to write on a little brown
- 23:22Speaker 2: paper bag and put like five dollars in it, and
- 23:25Speaker 2: then agreed ninety dollars on a hut for my cat.
- 23:28Speaker 1: He's used twice in like nine months. Literally a definition
- 23:30Speaker 1: of having a cat just give him a box. And
- 23:32Speaker 1: in that also is the Dice in Air app. Every
- 23:36Speaker 1: year we do this episode, we always get chicks sending
- 23:40Speaker 1: in how the diceon Air ap was their like worst
- 23:43Speaker 1: investment of the year.
- 23:44Speaker 2: And I obviously love mine, but it's definitely.
- 23:47Speaker 1: A product you need to go and test and see
- 23:50Speaker 1: if it works in your hair, because it works great
- 23:52Speaker 1: on my hair, but like for you, so it doesn't
- 23:54Speaker 1: work well on your hair.
- 23:55Speaker 5: The chick that I got a coffee from this morning
- 23:57Speaker 5: also said this.
- 23:58Speaker 2: She was like, oh, I love your hair.
- 23:59Speaker 1: She's like, what did you do it with and I
- 24:00Speaker 1: was like, oh, a disonery and she's like, oh, it
- 24:02Speaker 1: doesn't work on my hair, and I was like yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 1: so fair.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Yeah, so if you know somebody who has one, ask
- 24:06Speaker 2: if you can borrow it. You can also go instore
- 24:09Speaker 2: a diceon and do like a test. And like some
- 24:11Speaker 2: stores they even do.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Like the full hair wash and you can go and
- 24:14Speaker 1: get a hair wash and blow dry for like fifteen
- 24:17Speaker 1: bucks or something like that, potentially even free, I don't know.
- 24:20Speaker 2: And I feel like that's a good test because if
- 24:22Speaker 2: a professional who knows how to use the dicon has
- 24:25Speaker 2: done yeah, and it still drops an hour later, it
- 24:27Speaker 2: probably just doesn't suit your hair tight on.
- 24:30Speaker 5: But yeah, interesting, Well that's a rep.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Sorry this episode was all over. It was chaotic energy
- 24:37Speaker 2: the end of the ear cheeks.
- 24:39Speaker 5: But thanks for having us in your ear holes.
- 24:42Speaker 2: We love Tobo who. We'll catch you next week for
- 24:46Speaker 2: the last episode. I can't wait see then, my chicks
