- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists and Artists
- 0:08Speaker 1: This week on the show, the heart and soul of
- 0:12Speaker 1: the moving and grooving of the Hollywood industry, it's production assistance.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Without PAS, most movies wouldn't be able to be made.
- 0:21Speaker 2: These are the people that sometimes are underpaid, definitely under respected,
- 0:26Speaker 2: but deserve a lot more credit for getting the job done.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Today, we bring four of our nation's most important PAS
- 0:35Speaker 3: into the studio to talk to them and see what
- 0:38Speaker 3: makes them tick.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Now listen up, we're rolling.
- 0:44Speaker 5: This is crazy.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Whoa, this is sick.
- 0:47Speaker 6: Yeah, it is wonderful to see you all again.
- 0:49Speaker 5: It's so great to see you guys.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Head to see you, Cynthia. I feel like we don't
- 0:53Speaker 1: see each other as much because you're on the other
- 0:55Speaker 1: side of the tracks.
- 0:56Speaker 3: No, no, we don't. But because I'm an office PA.
- 1:00Speaker 3: But I feel like I'm just one of you guys.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:04Speaker 6: You guys always make me feel so included in your
- 1:07Speaker 6: little crew dynamics.
- 1:09Speaker 4: So sure, p nation baby. Yeah, we're all up and coming.
- 1:12Speaker 4: That's all that there. Yes, doesn't matter which department.
- 1:15Speaker 2: It was crazy that, you know, like we got invited
- 1:19Speaker 2: here because we're four of the nation's most important.
- 1:24Speaker 7: So that was so weird when the White House like
- 1:27Speaker 7: sent those surveys.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess shooting a movie about the White House
- 1:31Speaker 2: does kind of make you that's I guess, like you
- 1:33Speaker 2: guys should know we all met shooting a movie on
- 1:36Speaker 2: the White House. Yeah, during a time where something bad happened.
- 1:40Speaker 1: The house that we built, the house we built.
- 1:45Speaker 4: It is one hundred and thirty five days of production.
- 1:47Speaker 1: That was my favorite. I think merch gift my favorite
- 1:50Speaker 1: rap gift. I think we ever I've ever gotten, remember that.
- 1:53Speaker 5: I mean that, uh, we got a lot.
- 1:56Speaker 1: That that stadium seat cushion.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Yeah, the stadium seacushion, and the purple heart.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and the purple I should have buried the lead.
- 2:05Speaker 1: The purple heart was definitely your purple heart.
- 2:08Speaker 6: I have a little keychain.
- 2:09Speaker 5: That's fine. I think I misplaced mine.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I either misplaced mine or gave it to my mom
- 2:14Speaker 2: and I can't remember.
- 2:15Speaker 4: That's sick as hell. I have mine on the back
- 2:17Speaker 4: of a jean jacket that says fuck off.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Oh that's cool.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I stapled minds in the back of my jeep.
- 2:23Speaker 5: To your jeep. Well, okay, that's cool.
- 2:25Speaker 2: You are so yeah, how long do we shoot that
- 2:27Speaker 2: ago that was likens ago?
- 2:32Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, like life and PA.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I guess we can start with this names too, But
- 2:38Speaker 2: just like like as a PA, your my life, it
- 2:41Speaker 2: was really fast and really slow.
- 2:43Speaker 5: At the exact same time.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I was about to say, you say three months ago,
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm like, that's seven jobs ago for me.
- 2:48Speaker 3: That's like crazy ancient history at this point, should we
- 2:53Speaker 3: do names? And let's do names. I'm Cynthia. I was
- 2:58Speaker 3: an office PA on Oh my gosh, it's ancient history
- 3:03Speaker 3: now the house that we built.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yes, yes, that's right.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Yeah, what's up, y'all.
- 3:11Speaker 7: My name's Miranda and I was a PA on the
- 3:14Speaker 7: house that we built.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Hey, guys, what's up.
- 3:18Speaker 2: My name is Trick and I was a PA on
- 3:22Speaker 2: the project the house that we built.
- 3:25Speaker 1: What's up, guys? My name is Kyle, but most people
- 3:27Speaker 1: call me diddo because, uh, basically, if when it comes
- 3:33Speaker 1: to lunch whatever you're getting ditto. I don't like to
- 3:37Speaker 1: fill out the orders. I don't like to fill out
- 3:38Speaker 1: the orders. So I'm usually the one like in the back,
- 3:43Speaker 1: like when they call last man for lunch, Like last
- 3:46Speaker 1: man is a term where when you're working. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: like I imagine that everyone who's listening has no clue
- 3:55Speaker 1: what a PA does.
- 3:56Speaker 2: No, Yeah, because we don't you know, nobody really, if
- 3:59Speaker 2: you're not in the industry, you probably don't know who
- 4:02Speaker 2: we are.
- 4:03Speaker 7: Also, it depends like production and production, Like there's just
- 4:06Speaker 7: different things, like I don't know what each of like we.
- 4:08Speaker 7: I mean, I know because I'm your friend, right, but
- 4:11Speaker 7: like a lot of you, like I don't know from
- 4:12Speaker 7: day to day, like what we're specifically.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Doing, because it's it's the jobs that there's no job for.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Oh, maybe people do know about us specifically because we
- 4:24Speaker 2: were so important.
- 4:25Speaker 5: You know, we saved the president that one day on
- 4:27Speaker 5: set because.
- 4:28Speaker 3: We I mean, there were twenty other pas on this movie,
- 4:34Speaker 3: we were the more most important for because we did
- 4:37Speaker 3: rescue the president.
- 4:39Speaker 5: The river, the literal president who was there upon.
- 4:42Speaker 3: A sort of consultant basis, because the President did consult
- 4:45Speaker 3: on this movie, was consulting.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Joe Biden was Yeah, he was great, and he fell
- 4:50Speaker 1: into the Potomac and we were the only four who
- 4:52Speaker 1: saw him.
- 4:53Speaker 7: And you know that's why they're calling us nations most important. Yes,
- 4:57Speaker 7: it's because we saved Joe Biden.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Well, and then we got injured while doing it. She's
- 5:01Speaker 1: why we got purple hearts.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Yes, specifically not Metal of Honors.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Yeah, purple heart was a wrap get No.
- 5:06Speaker 3: It was because I broke my arm and we all
- 5:09Speaker 3: kind of got fractures.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Yeah, because that potomac moves quick. Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I got a sprain. I got a sprain.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Basically.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yeah, basically what happened was, you know, like we were
- 5:18Speaker 2: shooting and they told us all to like kind of
- 5:21Speaker 2: lock it up, and we were like, so, basically, lock
- 5:24Speaker 2: it up means like go around, make sure everybody's quiet.
- 5:26Speaker 5: And they say rolling.
- 5:28Speaker 2: We hear it through the walkie our earpiece and we
- 5:31Speaker 2: all say rolling.
- 5:33Speaker 5: You know, repeat that rolling. But when rolling, just so happy.
- 5:37Speaker 1: You guys like to do two rollings with three rollings.
- 5:39Speaker 5: I do a big r.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Rolling.
- 5:43Speaker 5: That's it. That's what I do.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I like to sometimes when I'm like feeling a little goofy,
- 5:49Speaker 1: like slap happy, like when we're on like fifteen sixteen
- 5:52Speaker 1: hour days, I try to get as many rollings in
- 5:54Speaker 1: as possible. Rolling rolling that's fun.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Damn man, you're so annoying.
- 6:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Channel three, don't turn the channel three.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I wish I could say rolling.
- 6:04Speaker 7: I'm usually at a California Chicken Cafe, waiting on twenty
- 6:07Speaker 7: five cop salads.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and you were at the Chick California Chicken Cafe
- 6:11Speaker 2: when the President went into the Potomac, right.
- 6:13Speaker 4: But that's how long of it.
- 6:14Speaker 7: It was as a mission to get him back, because
- 6:17Speaker 7: I was there when he technically fell in, yeah, and
- 6:20Speaker 7: come back.
- 6:21Speaker 6: You were, Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And as soon as he came too, because he was unconscious.
- 6:26Speaker 1: As soon as he came too, we said what do
- 6:29Speaker 1: you need? He said, salad, And you were there with
- 6:32Speaker 1: a salad.
- 6:32Speaker 7: And you know how those Postmates has those like those
- 6:37Speaker 7: big boxes that you put a lot of food into,
- 6:39Speaker 7: say to make it warm big. Yeah, that's what we
- 6:42Speaker 7: use as a flotation device.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Because I was.
- 6:44Speaker 7: Walking up with a bunch of them and you guys
- 6:46Speaker 7: were like were drowning.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Your arm was broken.
- 6:51Speaker 7: And that's when I threw in these life vests, which
- 6:55Speaker 7: were these Postmate salad boxes.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And you got your purple heart. Because as we're feeding
- 7:01Speaker 1: Biden's salady vision.
- 7:04Speaker 4: The listeners in here, Sorry, it would get pretty emotional,
- 7:08Speaker 4: but I.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Remember, I remember you yelling went viral.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and that might be why we're here. I don't know.
- 7:18Speaker 4: There's a lot of reasons. But I was giving him
- 7:20Speaker 4: a cheery tomato because those are rich in nutrients, and
- 7:24Speaker 4: my god, is those guys Joe Biden's got some chompers.
- 7:27Speaker 5: Yeah for sure, and he locks in like a pit bull.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Well, it's hard to tell, you know, if you're Joe Biden,
- 7:33Speaker 3: you've just fell into the potomac, you're eighty thousand years old.
- 7:37Speaker 3: You can't really tell if someone's finger is a carrot,
- 7:41Speaker 3: like a yummy carrot from a cop salad, or if
- 7:43Speaker 3: it's the hand of someone trying to help you.
- 7:45Speaker 4: It's like, what's my day job as the president?
- 7:47Speaker 7: Why am I consulting on a movie? You know, It's
- 7:49Speaker 7: like there's a lot of questions there.
- 7:50Speaker 2: So yeah, but you know, let's get back into it.
- 7:52Speaker 2: You know, I don't think we're called in here to
- 7:54Speaker 2: talk about us rescuing Joe Biden.
- 8:00Speaker 1: About just to kind of like book and what I
- 8:04Speaker 1: mentioned earlier, last man means when you're calling for lunch,
- 8:08Speaker 1: you don't actually go to lunch until the last person
- 8:12Speaker 1: who has been working on the set is at lunch.
- 8:15Speaker 1: So last man, you know, if you say lunch is
- 8:17Speaker 1: at one thirty, there's one guy that's working on the
- 8:20Speaker 1: cords or whatever. And then if he's done at one forty,
- 8:24Speaker 1: that's last man for lunch, and then that means lunch
- 8:27Speaker 1: is an hour after that. So I'm always usually the
- 8:29Speaker 1: last man because I'm always having some shit to do
- 8:32Speaker 1: in the back or some shit and yeah, well it's well.
- 8:37Speaker 4: I remember the day that Joe fell. We didn't call
- 8:40Speaker 4: last man out of respect. It was like a flat.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Half mask because Joe was the last man because he was,
- 8:46Speaker 3: you know, in the.
- 8:47Speaker 5: He did go to lunch last that day for sure.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Well, and there was no need to call last man
- 8:51Speaker 1: because production halted right like, no one was working because all.
- 8:55Speaker 4: The salads were in the river.
- 8:57Speaker 6: This is an industry secret.
- 8:58Speaker 3: When the president falls in the river, you do have
- 9:01Speaker 3: to halt production at least for a little while.
- 9:03Speaker 1: That's an industry secret.
- 9:05Speaker 6: That's an industry secret.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I have a question for you guys. I mean, so
- 9:10Speaker 3: I I'm in the office all day. A lot of
- 9:13Speaker 3: people like, there's this common misconception that I don't really
- 9:16Speaker 3: do anything.
- 9:17Speaker 5: Oh my god, and I just think that don't say
- 9:20Speaker 5: that to you.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I just think that's so fake because I'm constantly doing
- 9:26Speaker 3: things up there.
- 9:27Speaker 7: You're kidding every night at like eleven PM when that
- 9:30Speaker 7: call she comes out and it's a freaking essay long.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I'm like, that's Cynthia right there. She did that the
- 9:35Speaker 4: whole thing.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And you personalize Do you personalize those call sheets? You
- 9:39Speaker 1: you always write your own kind of fun sassy weather report.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And I learned details about each person and
- 9:47Speaker 3: so I you know, I do write them individually. This
- 9:52Speaker 3: is not a CC or a BCC. This is everybody
- 9:56Speaker 3: gets hey, hope your kids soccer practice went okay.
- 9:59Speaker 6: By the way, your call is six a m.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And you handwrite him too, and you take pictures of
- 10:05Speaker 1: him and you send him as I think it's much more.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I think it's much nicer that way. I used to
- 10:09Speaker 3: mail the call sheets.
- 10:11Speaker 5: But disaster because nobody could get there on time.
- 10:13Speaker 6: Nobody got there in time. But but I don't think
- 10:17Speaker 6: it could work.
- 10:17Speaker 7: When production came back up from being halted, the first
- 10:21Speaker 7: call sheet we had back. The quote you put in
- 10:24Speaker 7: there was when one man falls down, we all do yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 5: And it was powerful.
- 10:28Speaker 1: From the Keans film Hardball.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, that movie makes me cry every time. It's
- 10:35Speaker 3: actually why I wanted to get into movies. I mean,
- 10:39Speaker 3: it was that movie and my dad is Samuel Goldwyn.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Well, what's the movie that got everybody in? That's amazing?
- 10:47Speaker 5: Yeah, and who's your dad as well?
- 10:49Speaker 6: And then who is your dad?
- 10:50Speaker 4: Oh cool.
- 10:52Speaker 7: The movie that made me fall in love and want
- 10:53Speaker 7: to make movies was Big Fish. Yes, is a movie
- 10:58Speaker 7: that has no faults, there's no mistake. It's actually perfect,
- 11:01Speaker 7: frame by frame. And my dad is Billy Crystal.
- 11:08Speaker 2: That's great, that's great, that's awesome. The movie that got
- 11:14Speaker 2: me into film was Bumblebee. I just love that. I
- 11:17Speaker 2: think there's no Transformers so Transformer spin off Bumblebee.
- 11:20Speaker 5: I think it's perfect.
- 11:21Speaker 2: And that's the kind of movie I want to make,
- 11:23Speaker 2: you know, Like, that's the type of movie I want
- 11:25Speaker 2: to make, action packed.
- 11:27Speaker 5: So funny, so funny and so smart and just you know.
- 11:32Speaker 2: A different level of comedy. And my dad is actually.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Just say it. I know, we get nervous when we
- 11:43Speaker 4: answer these quess I just.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Get a little nervous.
- 11:45Speaker 2: My dad is Michael Bay, so he made that movie.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So my favorite movie, the movie that got me into
- 11:55Speaker 1: wanting to do exactly what we're doing right now is
- 11:57Speaker 1: Boondock Saints. It's awesome and it has all the stuff
- 12:01Speaker 1: that I love and it has action and it has heart,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and it also has kind of interesting characters and stuff.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And my dad's name is Michael Flatley. He's he's he
- 12:14Speaker 1: is the person that it is the lord of the dance.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I believe River Dance order the dance one of those
- 12:18Speaker 1: deep cut Yeah, and I didn't want to do no. Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 5: And I'm sure we all have problems with our dads,
- 12:26Speaker 5: you know.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't come from film royalty. I came
- 12:29Speaker 1: from like Irish dancing royalty. But yeah, it's like, my
- 12:33Speaker 1: dad is mad that I'm doing this. This is the
- 12:35Speaker 1: last thing he wanted me to do. Like he wanted
- 12:36Speaker 1: me to join the family, the family trade of dancing
- 12:42Speaker 1: a lot with your feet and nothing with the top
- 12:44Speaker 1: of your body. But I just wasn't interested in that
- 12:46Speaker 1: and that wasn't the world that I wanted And that's
- 12:49Speaker 1: not who I am. And like the problem with me
- 12:52Speaker 1: is that I'm better with my hands than name with
- 12:53Speaker 1: my feet.
- 12:54Speaker 5: And it was that's so true.
- 12:56Speaker 2: You cannot get like Ditto is handsy on on bol words,
- 13:00Speaker 2: on tools, anything Ditto could get his hands on.
- 13:03Speaker 1: He'll he'll not on people. No, that's not interested in sex.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I'm a sexual I'm not interested in any of that stuff.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm an ace, and I'm proud to be an ace.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Trust me, I know he is. I have tried dittoh
- 13:14Speaker 4: you have.
- 13:15Speaker 1: You've all tried fine, and I'm so complimented that by
- 13:18Speaker 1: that that you're trying to go after me. But it's
- 13:20Speaker 1: never gonna happen because I'm not. Just It's like, it's like,
- 13:24Speaker 1: to me, kissing is like like kissing butcher meat, Like
- 13:28Speaker 1: it's like a human body is meat regardless.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Sang dude, Yeah, that sucks.
- 13:34Speaker 5: What's kissing like for you guys?
- 13:36Speaker 1: Now we're talking about what we talk about on set.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I love this is us Now I'm coming to the truth.
- 13:42Speaker 5: It's like, what can we talk about as a PA?
- 13:45Speaker 5: This is what being a pat like?
- 13:47Speaker 4: What is kisses to you?
- 13:49Speaker 6: And it's like getting deep what is kisses to you?
- 13:51Speaker 3: And then it's a little bit of can you believe
- 13:54Speaker 3: this celebrity is this way?
- 13:56Speaker 1: We do a lot of that too, Okay, I'll do
- 13:58Speaker 1: both of those.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Kisses to me reminds me of my mom.
- 14:03Speaker 7: She was a big kisser.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Uh.
- 14:07Speaker 4: And once once Chris Evans threw a water bottle at
- 14:14Speaker 4: my face.
- 14:15Speaker 5: I remember that. I remember that because you were in his.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Eye line and it was the best fucking day of
- 14:20Speaker 4: my life.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Yeah, he was so upset, but also he did in
- 14:25Speaker 2: such a charming way, but we all thought it was
- 14:27Speaker 2: a joke.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I've also never seen anything like it. He opened it,
- 14:32Speaker 1: threw it, but he threw it so fast. It spun
- 14:34Speaker 1: like a knife. It hits you, you tilted your head back.
- 14:36Speaker 1: You drink the whole bottle of water.
- 14:38Speaker 4: And it was so cool because that also went viral.
- 14:41Speaker 5: That was what's that was that?
- 14:43Speaker 4: And it's one of a bunch of my viral videos
- 14:46Speaker 4: and I'm so thankful for it.
- 14:47Speaker 7: I mean when I caught the water bottle and I
- 14:51Speaker 7: just the instinct was to like spit it out, but
- 14:53Speaker 7: I was like, what if I suck it in?
- 14:55Speaker 4: I drink this fucking water, and I was so thirsty.
- 14:57Speaker 4: We had just like brought in fifty thousand apple boxes
- 15:02Speaker 4: and we were exhausted because those things.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Are Yeah, that was because it was al Pacino and
- 15:06Speaker 2: he's so small.
- 15:07Speaker 4: It were wearing so many of him for this Chris
- 15:09Speaker 4: Evans al Pacino movie.
- 15:10Speaker 2: And the movie was not that al Pacino's so small,
- 15:13Speaker 2: but they had to make al Pacino look fifty thousand feet.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Yeah, it wasn't doing it practically, no, Yeah, he.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Was playing a building.
- 15:20Speaker 4: He was playing. He was playing a building that Chris
- 15:22Speaker 4: Evans was playing.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Just a dude.
- 15:24Speaker 4: And when al Pacino plays a.
- 15:26Speaker 7: Building, it puts people don't realize that's the page job.
- 15:29Speaker 4: It's like, it's like weird parts. It's weird parts of
- 15:33Speaker 4: the business that you go.
- 15:34Speaker 7: Okay, so producing those to the producers, lighting, it goes
- 15:37Speaker 7: to the gaffers.
- 15:38Speaker 4: What do we do when we have to make this
- 15:40Speaker 4: person a building? Let's call those four grungey ass PA's
- 15:44Speaker 4: and let's get it in the air.
- 15:45Speaker 5: Oh, they've got time. We don't have to pay them.
- 15:47Speaker 1: A lot of those motherfuckers above the line just leave
- 15:49Speaker 1: it to us. And they say, you're gonna have to
- 15:51Speaker 1: do it. Yeah, and you have to figure it out.
- 15:53Speaker 1: And what do we know? We know apple boxes.
- 15:54Speaker 2: That's exactly what happened when we saved Joe Biden. I mean,
- 15:56Speaker 2: nobody knew what to do, so we had to jump
- 15:58Speaker 2: in the river. It was like we found him, You're like,
- 16:00Speaker 2: what do we do? They said, this is the bottom
- 16:01Speaker 2: of the line. You guys, get in there and save
- 16:03Speaker 2: Joe Biden. Always we've got a lawsuit on our hands
- 16:05Speaker 2: at the minimum.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 7: Anytime anybody comes up to something and they go, what
- 16:10Speaker 7: are we going to do with this?
- 16:11Speaker 4: A PA should be in there. Yeah, what are we
- 16:12Speaker 4: going to do with the drowning body?
- 16:14Speaker 7: What are we going to do with a man who's
- 16:15Speaker 7: clearly not a building playing a building?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Totally? What was that question I wanted to hear yours, Cynthia. Oh,
- 16:21Speaker 1: my question is one is celebrity gossip, and the other
- 16:24Speaker 1: one was was kissing? What kisses mean to you?
- 16:26Speaker 4: And what has celebrity's done?
- 16:27Speaker 6: Okay, what kisses mean to me is a hug?
- 16:33Speaker 3: And wouldn't you believe Jim Parsons loves Russian nesting dolls?
- 16:39Speaker 1: No interest?
- 16:40Speaker 3: I always have the hottest celebrity gossip because I know
- 16:43Speaker 3: you guys are always gossiping about really cool stuff, and
- 16:47Speaker 3: so I love to come in here and just rock
- 16:50Speaker 3: the boat with something like that.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Cynthia, Yeah, you always think it rocks the boat, But
- 16:55Speaker 4: I mean, he just loves what what does he loves?
- 16:57Speaker 6: He loves Russian nesting dolls?
- 17:00Speaker 5: So crazy?
- 17:01Speaker 4: I mean, you didn't hear it from me, though, because
- 17:04Speaker 4: I don't think you would mind.
- 17:06Speaker 6: I think you would mind.
- 17:07Speaker 3: I think, I think this is kind of something I
- 17:11Speaker 3: heard through the grapevine through working with him.
- 17:14Speaker 6: I have a friend who worked with him.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I guess. I guess office and set have different opinions
- 17:19Speaker 1: of what celebrity gossip is.
- 17:20Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I mean we are.
- 17:25Speaker 6: I could not believe this is.
- 17:27Speaker 3: All I'll say is that this is not the reception
- 17:30Speaker 3: that the office pas gave me. They were shocked. One
- 17:34Speaker 3: of them threw up. They thought it was so gross
- 17:37Speaker 3: that he had those dolls.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Well, you were all a bunch of petite blonde women, and.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Yes, our bones are made of glass. What's your point.
- 17:48Speaker 7: I go to the grip department and I get tons
- 17:51Speaker 7: of these extra protein salads for them, and then I
- 17:53Speaker 7: go to you guys, and I go, what do you
- 17:54Speaker 7: guys want from California Chicken a cafe?
- 17:56Speaker 3: And you say, and we see iceberg extra iceberg, No
- 18:00Speaker 3: no tomato, no chicken, no no celery, no annual water
- 18:04Speaker 3: on top of it.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Right, So it's iceberg soup. That's what That's what the
- 18:10Speaker 6: PA is drink in the office.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I always let you handle those errands, and we have
- 18:14Speaker 1: to go into the office because every time I go in,
- 18:16Speaker 1: though all those petit blonde women ask me so many
- 18:18Speaker 1: questions about my life.
- 18:19Speaker 2: So many something and they haven't talked to anybody.
- 18:25Speaker 6: I'm just curious.
- 18:26Speaker 3: And you know, we just love to talk to people
- 18:28Speaker 3: who are outside, so when someone actually comes up to
- 18:32Speaker 3: say something, we're very excited to see you.
- 18:34Speaker 6: That's why I'm always excited to see you.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Guys.
- 18:36Speaker 4: You are the coolest of all the petit blonde for sure.
- 18:39Speaker 5: For sure because you're in that metal band so much.
- 18:42Speaker 6: Yes, I am in a metal band.
- 18:44Speaker 3: We are called the Rowdy Girlies, and we play all
- 18:49Speaker 3: sorts of scary venues like the Silver Lake Lounge, frungy
- 18:55Speaker 3: places like stuff places your mother wouldn't want you owing, like.
- 19:00Speaker 6: El sid just all these like scary, underground sort of
- 19:04Speaker 6: punk clubs.
- 19:05Speaker 4: You play Downtown Disney.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Yeah, we played Downtown Disney and you could not get
- 19:13Speaker 3: in unless you were scary.
- 19:15Speaker 6: I'll tell you that cool.
- 19:17Speaker 3: You don't want to run with my crowd because we
- 19:21Speaker 3: are freaky. One time at our shows, uh, somebody well
- 19:26Speaker 3: one of Jelly, Jelly in the band of Jelly and
- 19:31Speaker 3: the Band, because you know she plays that banjo and jelly.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Yeah, your friend Jelly plays the band in your metal band.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Do you think I'm lying?
- 19:39Speaker 5: No, no, no, Cynthia.
- 19:45Speaker 1: If that was a lie, that'd be insane. Specifics like that,
- 19:49Speaker 1: you can't make up.
- 19:50Speaker 6: You can't make it up.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Jelly played the banjo at Downtown Disney and she I
- 20:00Speaker 3: ended the banjo to someone in the crowd, and the
- 20:03Speaker 3: person in the crowd held onto it for a little
- 20:05Speaker 3: too long, and Jelly walked right up to the girl
- 20:08Speaker 3: and this is a grungey punk club and said, give.
- 20:11Speaker 6: Me that back or else.
- 20:14Speaker 3: You know what they did, And that's I run with
- 20:17Speaker 3: like a sort of you know, I'm different.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Totally totally.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Well, as I said to me, it's you know, touching
- 20:26Speaker 1: lips of dead meat. Oh yeah, it's just not I mean,
- 20:28Speaker 1: it's beyond ace. Ace is just like not sexual. But
- 20:31Speaker 1: like I am reviled by the human body, and it's
- 20:34Speaker 1: like to me, it's a prison, Like I wish that
- 20:37Speaker 1: I was in something I enjoyed. And then celebrity gossip, Gosh,
- 20:44Speaker 1: where do I start? You know, I'm always on set.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I'm always on the closed sets, you know what I mean.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Those close sets. That's crazy because somehow did always gets
- 20:52Speaker 2: in there.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Something you don't know about a celebrity. Uh, Jason, Oh,
- 21:00Speaker 1: shits and urinals. I mean that's something I know, that's
- 21:03Speaker 1: something I know for sure.
- 21:04Speaker 5: I heard Aquaman was a mess.
- 21:07Speaker 1: It was crazy. It's crazy.
- 21:09Speaker 5: There was no urinals on set right that he would
- 21:11Speaker 5: just say, I.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Need a urinal. It's my writer, I need I need
- 21:14Speaker 1: a star wagon with a urinal, which is difficult because
- 21:17Speaker 1: a lot of those star wagons are the same and
- 21:19Speaker 1: we have to find we'd have to rent a specific
- 21:20Speaker 1: one and you'd take big old dumps in it.
- 21:23Speaker 2: And it was you find that out though, because you're
- 21:25Speaker 2: usually not let into you.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Know, I'm usually not in base camp. No, I'm usually
- 21:29Speaker 1: not by the by the star wagons. I was the
- 21:32Speaker 1: last one. Nobody else would do it because everybody else
- 21:36Speaker 1: on that set. That was a little indie picture.
- 21:40Speaker 5: What was it called?
- 21:41Speaker 1: It was called Nuts for saleh and it was I
- 21:46Speaker 1: saw this I love this jan It was an eight
- 21:49Speaker 1: twenty four film. Jason Momoa played a big city guy
- 21:53Speaker 1: who gave everything up to start a nut farm and
- 21:56Speaker 1: then the nut farm catches on fire at.
- 21:57Speaker 5: The end and he has to fight the guy who
- 22:00Speaker 5: on fire.
- 22:00Speaker 1: And it becomes a revenge film. Yeah, and it's yeah,
- 22:05Speaker 1: it's Jason Momoa, Alison Janny and uh MTV v J
- 22:09Speaker 1: Sugin pok break out performance. She's it is never too
- 22:16Speaker 1: late to restart your career. That's something that I'm really
- 22:18Speaker 1: proud of seug In for that. She was so good
- 22:22Speaker 1: and uh yeah, I mean but it was a really
- 22:24Speaker 1: small set. It was. It was a one point five
- 22:27Speaker 1: mil movie. And I don't know if you guys like
- 22:29Speaker 1: to work indie films versus a big budget We've done
- 22:33Speaker 1: it all, and I've done it all with you guys. Yes,
- 22:35Speaker 1: it's it's scrappier, scrappier on the lower level. You know,
- 22:39Speaker 1: everyone's pitching in and so for me, I'm taking a
- 22:41Speaker 1: shovel and I'm taking that ship out of the urinals.
- 22:43Speaker 1: That's right.
- 22:45Speaker 5: That's fantastic. Kisses to me.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I hope to get one, but I imagine they're like butterflies.
- 22:51Speaker 2: And I guess John Krasinski did pull a knife on
- 22:54Speaker 2: me one time. Really, Yes, that was insane. We're you
- 22:58Speaker 2: know how we play? Uh sorry, that was my phone.
- 23:04Speaker 4: No, you're on call constantly for.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Yeah, sorry, I just need to check. Yeah, no, that's fine.
- 23:10Speaker 2: The director called me, see if I could work in
- 23:12Speaker 2: four hours, so I'll be there.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I just texted him back. Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 2: So yeah, John Kristincy pulled a knife on me. We
- 23:18Speaker 2: were playing craps. Usually we've have a little bit of
- 23:21Speaker 2: a dice gamer or a craps game going on in
- 23:23Speaker 2: the back, and he kind of stumbled upon me and
- 23:24Speaker 2: the other pas because I'm in camera. So we you know,
- 23:28Speaker 2: we have our own group a little boys.
- 23:30Speaker 5: And girls running around there.
- 23:32Speaker 4: You guys don't take a break for nothing.
- 23:35Speaker 2: No, no, we don't. I mean, camera is non stop
- 23:39Speaker 2: because what's always moving the camera.
- 23:41Speaker 4: You know, it's always moving as well. California and Chicken Cafe.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Yeah, they move like locations all the time.
- 23:45Speaker 6: They're a food truck.
- 23:47Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean yeah, Sometimes I'm like, do I belong
- 23:51Speaker 7: to production or California Chicken Cafe?
- 23:53Speaker 1: Wait, you gotta tell that story where you had to
- 23:57Speaker 1: get the food truck to pull over on the side
- 23:58Speaker 1: of the road to finish or Yes, that was the
- 24:01Speaker 1: crazy shit I.
- 24:01Speaker 5: Ever saw, the craziest story I've ever heard.
- 24:04Speaker 7: Yeah, so I think this was during the house we built. Yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 7: every single day I was at CCC, And it makes.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Sense because like, why would there be a California Chicken
- 24:13Speaker 2: cafe in the middle of Washington, d C.
- 24:15Speaker 5: It's about like a local chain, you.
- 24:17Speaker 7: Know, it's it's an LA based salad place. So we
- 24:24Speaker 7: we were doing our normal thing where we were driving
- 24:28Speaker 7: to drop everything off, and I had realized we were
- 24:33Speaker 7: two Caesar wraps down. No, And what people don't realize
- 24:38Speaker 7: is when you get to set and it's lunch, I
- 24:40Speaker 7: gotta get that ship there the fastest I can and
- 24:44Speaker 7: nothing's gonna get in my way. It's like my one time.
- 24:47Speaker 7: I mean, after once we get into lunch, I like,
- 24:49Speaker 7: I'm pretty much I just like smoke.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Blunt and I'm done.
- 24:52Speaker 7: Even though I'm on set, I'm doing shit and I'll
- 24:54Speaker 7: never stop. But I'm just like, it's my frickin' moment.
- 24:58Speaker 3: And if we can always count on you beca because
- 25:00Speaker 3: you know, some of the other girls in the office
- 25:02Speaker 3: like start fainting. There are a couple of days you
- 25:04Speaker 3: weren't there and lunch wasn't totally on time, and you know,
- 25:09Speaker 3: the girls just start, they start fanning themselves, and that's
- 25:11Speaker 3: when you know that things are.
- 25:12Speaker 6: About to go south.
- 25:13Speaker 5: I could, but.
- 25:14Speaker 6: You're always on it.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I remember that time when all those girls started fainting.
- 25:17Speaker 2: It was like feathers hitting the ground.
- 25:20Speaker 3: The problem when the office PA's faint is you can't
- 25:23Speaker 3: really hear them when they hit the ground.
- 25:24Speaker 4: It sounded like it was drizzling very lightly.
- 25:27Speaker 5: Yeah, but it was. It was girls going down.
- 25:30Speaker 3: It was girls going down, but they kind of make
- 25:32Speaker 3: this this sort of sound, and you know they're about
- 25:35Speaker 3: to go because they go, oh.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Oh, that's the trigger. I can't even hear that.
- 25:39Speaker 6: Because then you like go scoop them up.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Yeah, these girls have two low blood sugar.
- 25:44Speaker 1: You should have seen. You should have seen when the
- 25:45Speaker 1: grips fainted though, Oh gosh, that was crazy.
- 25:49Speaker 4: They couldn't have seen it because your ears bursted and
- 25:51Speaker 4: your eyes blacked out.
- 25:53Speaker 6: Is that what that earthquake was? Yeah?
- 25:55Speaker 1: I remember, Uh. Stumpy was like, I'm hungry. Next thing
- 25:58Speaker 1: I know, I'm slammed against a wall. I wake up.
- 26:03Speaker 1: It's been four hours later.
- 26:04Speaker 2: And that was when the set dominode, right the one
- 26:07Speaker 2: you the Stumpy hit you, which hit another Grip who
- 26:10Speaker 2: passed out, hitting a wall of the set, tearing down
- 26:14Speaker 2: what we had established as Washington, and our.
- 26:16Speaker 7: Set medic Carmen was on top of you trying to
- 26:20Speaker 7: bring you back.
- 26:20Speaker 1: That's what she says she was trying to flirt with
- 26:23Speaker 1: me always, and I hate it. And I was like, Carmen, please,
- 26:26Speaker 1: I'm working like it's like Carmen was so hot for me,
- 26:29Speaker 1: and it's so hard when someone's hot for me because
- 26:30Speaker 1: this is never going to happen the other way.
- 26:32Speaker 4: You just hate it anyway. But the thing about lunch is.
- 26:37Speaker 7: Production and the ad can like if they want to
- 26:41Speaker 7: finish something before lunch, they can ask for grace and
- 26:43Speaker 7: call grace. But every once in a while, if lunch
- 26:47Speaker 7: isn't there on time, we have to call grace because
- 26:50Speaker 7: of me.
- 26:51Speaker 5: And that is heavy.
- 26:53Speaker 7: The worst feeling in the world because you have grips
- 26:56Speaker 7: that like throw PA's at the wall like it is
- 26:59Speaker 7: not a good thing when it's my fault. So I
- 27:03Speaker 7: made this woman who was driving the CCC truck, I
- 27:06Speaker 7: said pull the.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Fuck over, and I said we gotta finish these wraps now,
- 27:11Speaker 4: get in the back.
- 27:12Speaker 7: And then we did them all and we wrapped them
- 27:14Speaker 7: and we were pulled over on the side of the street.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard you stopped her by doing that thing
- 27:18Speaker 1: cops do, or they swerved through all the lakes traffic.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I always wanted to do that, and because
- 27:27Speaker 4: those cops they go so slow and it's so graceful.
- 27:29Speaker 4: It's like a ballet dance on the four or five
- 27:32Speaker 4: exactly what I did.
- 27:34Speaker 7: And she got we got all those wraps and we
- 27:37Speaker 7: didn't have to call grace.
- 27:38Speaker 5: So thank god. It's so great.
- 27:40Speaker 2: What a great moment, What a great moment. I guess
- 27:43Speaker 2: here's my question, because like as PA's, you know, we
- 27:46Speaker 2: get bullied a lot, We get like trampled on a lot,
- 27:48Speaker 2: Like at least my experience is like trampled on. But
- 27:51Speaker 2: I kind of want to talk about the future, like
- 27:52Speaker 2: there's a reason why we're all here, and it's not
- 27:54Speaker 2: just because all of their dads are very like successful people.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Oh lucky in some way your dad is that is
- 28:02Speaker 1: it might be the richest one out of all of us.
- 28:04Speaker 5: You know, you are literal royalty, Uh huh royalty.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, yeah, I want to be the king
- 28:09Speaker 1: of Shit Mountain. Yeah. Right.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Do you know what it's like to have Billy Crystal
- 28:13Speaker 4: as your dad?
- 28:13Speaker 5: What's it like? I don't want to talk about it, okay.
- 28:16Speaker 3: I just think it's very nice that our dads are
- 28:19Speaker 3: very successful and we're humble enough to not promote.
- 28:23Speaker 6: Us up from here.
- 28:25Speaker 2: They really did put us all at the bottom level,
- 28:27Speaker 2: and we've been here for a while.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest, this is actually incredibly great parenting
- 28:32Speaker 1: moves on all of their parts.
- 28:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that they're raising very well balanced children.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Because I keep.
- 28:38Speaker 6: Saying, you know, it's been ten years. Can you kind
- 28:42Speaker 6: of help me out?
- 28:43Speaker 5: Well, what's your goal? Where do you want to end up?
- 28:45Speaker 4: Get a petite blonde in the trailer for ten years.
- 28:48Speaker 6: And I'm getting shorter and blonder by the day.
- 28:51Speaker 5: I noticed that. I didn't want to bring it up
- 28:53Speaker 5: because it's sounded so mean.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Because I'm working really hard and I really care about
- 28:56Speaker 3: my job. But as I'm going and as I'm doing this,
- 29:00Speaker 3: like I I could you know. I like movies, I
- 29:04Speaker 3: like going to them, but I think I really just
- 29:06Speaker 3: want to make popcorn.
- 29:08Speaker 6: I think I want to be like a popcorn chef.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Wait, do you love Popcornopolis?
- 29:13Speaker 3: I love Popcornopolis. That's like my movies. That's like my
- 29:16Speaker 3: Disneyland that store. Yeah, Popcornopolis is like, Okay, I'm going
- 29:23Speaker 3: to Universal Studios.
- 29:25Speaker 6: Okay, I'm getting on the big ride.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Every time I open up one of those big tubes
- 29:30Speaker 3: of popcornopolis.
- 29:31Speaker 6: I'm like, yummy, heaven.
- 29:35Speaker 5: So you just love making popcorn? Is that that's great? Yeah?
- 29:38Speaker 3: I think I've never really tried, but I think there's
- 29:41Speaker 3: a way to make like a new kind of popcorn.
- 29:43Speaker 5: That's why the trailer always smells like popcorn.
- 29:46Speaker 6: Because I'm doing it. On the side, I'm practicing.
- 29:48Speaker 1: New kind of popcorn. Are you thinking flavors or type
- 29:51Speaker 1: of thing?
- 29:52Speaker 6: I'm talking about the fundamental corn itself.
- 29:55Speaker 4: What does that mean?
- 29:56Speaker 5: You're trying to find it? You're trying to find an alternate.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I find an alternate corn. I'm trying to find I'm
- 30:01Speaker 3: trying to find a bigger one. Okay, primarily, like, because
- 30:04Speaker 3: popcorn is very small and pretty much you can change
- 30:07Speaker 3: the flavor whenever you want.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Are you Are you finding different things and trying to
- 30:10Speaker 1: pop them?
- 30:11Speaker 4: Yeah, so you're not. You're doing popcorn that isn't corn,
- 30:14Speaker 4: So you're just popping things.
- 30:16Speaker 3: So okay, So I've tried onions, I've tried bell peppers.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Yeah, those they'll they'll blow up, they won't pop like,
- 30:23Speaker 2: they won't flip Like.
- 30:24Speaker 6: That's what I'm discovering. But I don't think i'm dial
- 30:26Speaker 6: close what's the test.
- 30:29Speaker 1: What's the test in the microwave?
- 30:32Speaker 6: Yes, but well, no, I have a popcorn maker because
- 30:35Speaker 6: I'm a professional.
- 30:36Speaker 3: So I have one of those like popcorn makers that
- 30:38Speaker 3: go on the stove and they spin around, and so
- 30:42Speaker 3: I would put the onion in there. Sometimes I chop
- 30:44Speaker 3: it up a little finer. I've I've experimented with different size.
- 30:47Speaker 2: You're trying to chop up an onion and then hopefully
- 30:50Speaker 2: make those pieces of the onion pop.
- 30:52Speaker 6: Yes, then hopefully it becomes popcorn.
- 30:54Speaker 3: And you know, Nicholas Fleming discovered penicillin by accident.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Don't don't compare this, And so I'm.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Thinking if I just kind of keep accidentally on purpose
- 31:08Speaker 3: putting things in the popcorn maker, eventually I'll find any
- 31:10Speaker 3: kind of popcorn.
- 31:11Speaker 1: What's the closest you've got you think?
- 31:13Speaker 6: Oh, I got really close with a jerky.
- 31:17Speaker 7: I know exactly what fucking day you're talking about, because I.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Had to clean a huge jerky tornado under your trailer.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and I feel bad because none of the other
- 31:26Speaker 3: office pas are strong enough to hold a paper towel,
- 31:29Speaker 3: and so we always have to call in someone from set.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you always call me first because I'm the biggest,
- 31:36Speaker 1: strongest PA. Yeah, but then I always defer it because
- 31:39Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I am literally holding a jib up
- 31:43Speaker 1: that has broken. Like, I'm like, I'm literally doing you.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Trying to be a building?
- 31:47Speaker 5: Right?
- 31:47Speaker 6: You are such a foundation of the set itself, you
- 31:50Speaker 6: have noticed.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I feel good about that. You know. It almost feels
- 31:54Speaker 1: like the kind of thing where you know, a shipwreck,
- 31:58Speaker 1: you know, a ship wrecks in the and then barnacles
- 32:01Speaker 1: kind of build on top of it. I feel like
- 32:02Speaker 1: I've been on that set so long, I'm just become it,
- 32:05Speaker 1: and the set has absorbed me, and I'm just part
- 32:07Speaker 1: of the set.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Well, did know?
- 32:08Speaker 4: What do you are?
- 32:09Speaker 7: I know you love cinematography, Yeah, yeah, and you also
- 32:14Speaker 7: love directing.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Yeah, where do you see?
- 32:16Speaker 5: I also love acting. I've seen a lot of you.
- 32:18Speaker 4: I feel like you can in any department.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Films blow my mind. They're so avant garde.
- 32:24Speaker 7: That short film about you learning what it's like to
- 32:28Speaker 7: write with your left hand.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's a true story. That was completely true.
- 32:33Speaker 6: You're telling me that was based on real life.
- 32:35Speaker 1: So I'm not shitting you at one ounce. I'm I'm
- 32:40Speaker 1: telling you for real. I thought it would be interesting
- 32:43Speaker 1: if I wrote with my other hand and I said,
- 32:47Speaker 1: I need to start filming this, and I found a
- 32:49Speaker 1: narrative in the middle of it. You know, a guy
- 32:51Speaker 1: who's who's trying to change his life. Okay, I'll do
- 32:54Speaker 1: one small thing. I'll start righty with my left hand,
- 32:57Speaker 1: and then what happens, you know, he he learned and
- 33:00Speaker 1: then he's kind of better at it.
- 33:01Speaker 4: It's so satisfying at the end of the film.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Where I write that letter and you see the the
- 33:07Speaker 1: cursive right, and that's my real cursive. Like, thank you
- 33:11Speaker 1: guys for watching that. I mean, yeah, I want to
- 33:13Speaker 1: do that kind of stuff. I want to do creator,
- 33:17Speaker 1: I want to direct, I want to write, you know,
- 33:21Speaker 1: I want to be I want to be the next
- 33:25Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, Martin Scorsese. I want to
- 33:29Speaker 1: work there. I want to get there. I've been here
- 33:31Speaker 1: this long. Like I do feel like I'm losing the
- 33:35Speaker 1: path a little bit because I'm so committed to set
- 33:38Speaker 1: and sometimes.
- 33:38Speaker 4: They don't opposite.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Dude, Yeah, we could help you make your next film.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I mean, all of us are really good pas I'll
- 33:43Speaker 2: be sick different.
- 33:45Speaker 1: It just gets fucking crazy because I feel like we're
- 33:47Speaker 1: so close to what we want to do, but it's
- 33:48Speaker 1: not what we're doing. Yeah, you guys know what I mean.
- 33:51Speaker 6: Physically there, Yeah, we're physically there.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I'm in the room, but I'm the chair, you know
- 33:56Speaker 1: what I mean for sure? And have been the chair,
- 34:00Speaker 1: and I've been the chair. I was a chair on
- 34:02Speaker 1: knives Out.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Because the knights are falling out, you have to kind
- 34:06Speaker 5: of stand in the back. I was.
- 34:07Speaker 1: I was the Christopher Plumber big main chair. You guys
- 34:11Speaker 1: remember that chair so too.
- 34:12Speaker 4: But I was at CPK the whole time.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they were CPK production. Yeah. I also want
- 34:17Speaker 1: to bring up you work so many productions that don't
- 34:21Speaker 1: get catering. They just make you go get lunch.
- 34:24Speaker 5: And these are really really expensive places.
- 34:26Speaker 1: These are huge movies, and I think it's so fucking rude.
- 34:31Speaker 1: I think it's so fucking rude for you to get
- 34:33Speaker 1: lunch for that many people.
- 34:34Speaker 4: Let's address the elephant in the room.
- 34:36Speaker 7: You're like, hey, Mirando, why you had all these restaurants,
- 34:39Speaker 7: these lunch restaurants when usual productions get catering. It's a
- 34:43Speaker 7: new fat that's happening in Hollywood right now.
- 34:45Speaker 1: And it needs to stop.
- 34:47Speaker 4: It's like it's like a farm to table, but it's
- 34:50Speaker 4: a restaurant to set and because they think it's local
- 34:57Speaker 4: or fresher or supporting people, you're kind.
- 35:00Speaker 6: Of just supporting, you know, a national pizza chain.
- 35:03Speaker 4: And it's just like we could support these caterers, like
- 35:06Speaker 4: I don't, you're just sending me out. I know every
- 35:09Speaker 4: single lunch spot in La what their menu has, and
- 35:11Speaker 4: I know it by heart. So it's it's it's stupid,
- 35:16Speaker 4: but it has made me realize.
- 35:19Speaker 7: I I.
- 35:23Speaker 4: Want to open my own restaurant one day.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Wow, do you.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Feel like you are more of a restaurant worker or a.
- 35:30Speaker 4: PA No, I would say, I would say, I'm right
- 35:32Speaker 4: in the middle. And that's what I want to do.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I want to. I want to I want to build
- 35:37Speaker 4: the first restaurant.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Movie.
- 35:39Speaker 8: Okay, And what's that it's I think, yeah, right, it's
- 35:43Speaker 8: where a movie meets a restaurant, and I think it's
- 35:48Speaker 8: combining two things that we interact with every So.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Is it like you're at a restaurant and you're watching
- 35:53Speaker 3: a movie or you're out.
- 35:56Speaker 6: Of you're in the movie where a movie is it?
- 36:00Speaker 4: Exactly?
- 36:01Speaker 1: Is it a planet Hollywood?
- 36:03Speaker 4: Exactly?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Okay? So you want to you want to restart playing
- 36:05Speaker 1: at Hollywood exactly.
- 36:10Speaker 6: That's awesome.
- 36:11Speaker 4: I just I want to.
- 36:13Speaker 7: I don't know, it's just I'm interested in it. I'm
- 36:16Speaker 7: interested to see where the rock means the road.
- 36:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that's beautiful.
- 36:21Speaker 1: What about you, Trick?
- 36:22Speaker 2: I always, always, always have wanted to be a dancer,
- 36:26Speaker 2: and I just kind of.
- 36:28Speaker 5: Lost my path along. You don't want to be a dancer,
- 36:30Speaker 5: I really do you need?
- 36:33Speaker 4: Have you ever asked to pick Ditto's dad's brain.
- 36:36Speaker 5: I've tried, and they don't speak to each other.
- 36:39Speaker 7: Okay, but dude, it's actually crazy, and this is what
- 36:42Speaker 7: happens in Hollywood.
- 36:42Speaker 4: It starts with this stuff.
- 36:44Speaker 7: There is a reason why you're on set with Diddo
- 36:47Speaker 7: the Sun of the River Dance Gods.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 36:50Speaker 7: You need to ask your dad and ask him if
- 36:55Speaker 7: Trick can pick his brain.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah, because I feel like there's a lot in comment
- 36:59Speaker 2: but between breakdancing and river dancing, and I'm trying to
- 37:02Speaker 2: be become a breakdancer like a professional, like I love
- 37:05Speaker 2: the jabawakeis.
- 37:06Speaker 1: You don't want that life? Man? I'm telling you that
- 37:09Speaker 1: shit is fucked. What how how all day people just
- 37:14Speaker 1: use you for your body? All day? People just want
- 37:17Speaker 1: your body. People are just your body is your tool. No,
- 37:20Speaker 1: our body is our prison.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Were you like really good at dancing? Were you like
- 37:25Speaker 3: really good?
- 37:26Speaker 7: Is that why you always want to be an animate
- 37:28Speaker 7: objects like a chair on set and don't want to move?
- 37:31Speaker 5: Is that all the clicking that we hear in the background?
- 37:34Speaker 5: What do you almost like you're river tap dancing?
- 37:37Speaker 1: That's why I'm last man sometimes, Okay, because when everyone
- 37:40Speaker 1: else is out, I said, I'm gonna go fix these
- 37:42Speaker 1: wires and I'm freaking tap tap tapping up into catwalk.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Oh but I don't want that. No, guys, I can't
- 37:48Speaker 1: do it. I can't do that because my body sucks
- 37:51Speaker 1: and it's disgusting and I don't want to put it
- 37:53Speaker 1: on stage and like other people watch it, that is
- 37:56Speaker 1: a disservice.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Yeah. I guess you're right. I shouldn't do that either.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Thanks. So what's your new goal?
- 38:02Speaker 2: I think my new goal is to become an art
- 38:05Speaker 2: art deck person, like do do the art fir scenes.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Wow, I really feel like I deflated you.
- 38:10Speaker 7: That you know what I'm watching you change your goal
- 38:13Speaker 7: makes me want to change mine.
- 38:15Speaker 5: Go ahead.
- 38:15Speaker 4: To be honest, I never really understood my goal. I
- 38:18Speaker 4: didn't really understood what that meant. I just was in
- 38:20Speaker 4: inspired by it. I want to be a gang boss
- 38:22Speaker 4: one day.
- 38:23Speaker 5: WHOA, that's pretty easy.
- 38:24Speaker 6: Okay, Can I change my goal?
- 38:26Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 38:26Speaker 6: I want to do pickles.
- 38:30Speaker 5: How there's more things to pickle.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Pickle.
- 38:35Speaker 3: This is actually like a career path that can happen.
- 38:38Speaker 3: But I want to pickle like hamburgers. I want to
- 38:41Speaker 3: pickle like hot dogs. I want to pickle like full meals.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Because normally you pickle one object and then you put
- 38:48Speaker 3: it in the meal. But what if you pickled the
- 38:52Speaker 3: entire thing? What if you pickled a big turkey dinner.
- 38:56Speaker 2: I wouldn't I wouldn't do that.
- 39:00Speaker 5: It sounds awful.
- 39:03Speaker 2: No, no, I pickled turkey sounds awful, especially if it's
- 39:06Speaker 2: with all the mashed potato and the gravy. It just
- 39:09Speaker 2: sounds it just sounds like, don't pickle meat.
- 39:14Speaker 5: You don't pickle.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Meat, but anything.
- 39:17Speaker 3: I mean, sure, I don't eat meat because I only
- 39:19Speaker 3: eat iceberg, lettuce, So all these foods I'm just guessing at.
- 39:23Speaker 1: But can't I just I would honestly want to make
- 39:26Speaker 1: a short film of watching you popcorn and onion, which
- 39:29Speaker 1: I can't stop thinking about. It.
- 39:30Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm thinking about it.
- 39:32Speaker 4: You should follow that.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Okay, let's do it.
- 39:34Speaker 6: Let's do it.
- 39:35Speaker 1: If you're okay with doing popcorn, absolutely okay with that,
- 39:38Speaker 1: let's talk about it.
- 39:39Speaker 6: In fact. New goal movie star. I'm going to be
- 39:41Speaker 6: a movie star.
- 39:42Speaker 5: Oh okay, Wow, that's okay.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Look, I don't want to shut down anyone's goals. I
- 39:46Speaker 1: feel like I came hot. I'm coming in with my
- 39:48Speaker 1: own ship. I'm this bag of garbage.
- 39:50Speaker 4: That got You're super toxic because you're so messed up.
- 39:52Speaker 5: Oh yeah, one of the most talking people on set.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I know, but I love you to fucking death.
- 39:56Speaker 1: No, man, you're.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Awful on set though.
- 39:58Speaker 2: To talk to you, it's like talking to a freak
- 40:00Speaker 2: and mop, you know, always wet and down. You know.
- 40:04Speaker 4: But I know you so.
- 40:05Speaker 7: Well the back of my hand. We were PA's on
- 40:07Speaker 7: The New Adventures of Old Sea.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, way back when, way back when, way way, way
- 40:14Speaker 1: way twenty five years ago.
- 40:16Speaker 7: Back when I just I know you so well, and
- 40:18Speaker 7: I just I see that you're in your way.
- 40:20Speaker 4: You're in your own way, you know what I mean?
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, your goal.
- 40:23Speaker 4: I want to be a therapist.
- 40:24Speaker 5: That's good. You guys help me. Great.
- 40:27Speaker 2: I feel like I had the dancing thing and it
- 40:30Speaker 2: just wasn't good. I just want to make movies like Bumblebee.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Well you should do that, dude.
- 40:34Speaker 5: I can't.
- 40:35Speaker 2: It's so much money, and I've tried to change my
- 40:37Speaker 2: car and it didn't go well.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Have you ever gone into like robotics? I did in
- 40:41Speaker 4: a robotics class.
- 40:42Speaker 5: No.
- 40:42Speaker 2: I did a lot of YouTube videos the the There
- 40:45Speaker 2: is a small community on YouTube that is mostly international
- 40:50Speaker 2: children teaching you how to do robotics. And I've watched
- 40:53Speaker 2: most of those videos and they don't make any sense
- 40:56Speaker 2: to me. I cannot figure out a fucking thing there.
- 40:58Speaker 1: You put on the English options.
- 41:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I put on the English labsins.
- 41:02Speaker 2: But the verbiage these kids use is so it's like
- 41:06Speaker 2: when you know it's jargon on set, is very similar
- 41:08Speaker 2: to jargonon set. But they're talking about freaking science and
- 41:11Speaker 2: robotics and all I want to do is make my
- 41:13Speaker 2: car a big yellow guy who talks to me.
- 41:16Speaker 7: Wait wait, wait, we're doing it again. We're doing it again.
- 41:19Speaker 7: We're not living in the present.
- 41:22Speaker 1: True.
- 41:22Speaker 6: Well, I mean, okay, I think we spend.
- 41:25Speaker 3: So much time at work, Yes, like I how much?
- 41:30Speaker 3: How many hours a week. Are we all working? Like
- 41:33Speaker 3: I feel like I'm at like one hundred and twenty.
- 41:36Speaker 5: Yeah, one hundred thirty, one hundred forty probably, Yeah.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Calvern Chin Cafe opens it around seven.
- 41:41Speaker 7: It four.
- 41:42Speaker 1: I've been doing Monday Days, which is a Monday that
- 41:46Speaker 1: turns into a Saturday. Yes.
- 41:48Speaker 5: Yeah, how many hours in a week are there? Twenty
- 41:50Speaker 5: four forty eight? Well twenty four times?
- 41:52Speaker 3: Well, maybe it's easier to ask how many hours we're
- 41:55Speaker 3: not working?
- 41:56Speaker 1: So I strictly have a rule that I don't work
- 41:58Speaker 1: between four am and five thirty am.
- 42:01Speaker 6: That's good to set boundaries.
- 42:02Speaker 1: That's a boundary that I really Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 5: I try to not work on holidays. That's about it.
- 42:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I kind of well,
- 42:15Speaker 3: me and the girls in the office have a strict
- 42:18Speaker 3: two pm naptime rule where we do have to reset
- 42:23Speaker 3: our bodies and just lie down for like a full
- 42:25Speaker 3: hour or else we sort of like float away.
- 42:29Speaker 6: It has something to do with like.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Our gravitational pull, where we have to like reset and
- 42:33Speaker 3: make sure the earth remembers us.
- 42:35Speaker 7: But then you guys say, when you wake up, you're like,
- 42:39Speaker 7: do you guys wake up? You're like, where's my coffee?
- 42:41Speaker 7: And you're like, Miranda, where's our coffee? And I come
- 42:43Speaker 7: in and I get you guys's coffee, And I finally
- 42:45Speaker 7: just want to say it to your face.
- 42:46Speaker 4: A frappucino isn't doesn't have any coffee in.
- 42:49Speaker 5: It, and there's and there's no sustenance in that.
- 42:51Speaker 7: That's just sugar, all of you petite blondes. Either a
- 42:54Speaker 7: caramel frappuccino or a double chocolate chip frappuccino, And there's
- 42:59Speaker 7: no coffee.
- 43:00Speaker 6: No, No, it's it's coffee. You got it the coffee store.
- 43:03Speaker 6: You got it at the coffee place. There must be coffee.
- 43:06Speaker 4: No, it's a Starbucks milkshake.
- 43:09Speaker 3: So we've been waking up from our naps all by placebo.
- 43:14Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 43:16Speaker 4: I'm glad I finally got that out there.
- 43:17Speaker 7: You know, guys, I feel so good about this open
- 43:19Speaker 7: dialogue between us all. I feel like we're just like
- 43:21Speaker 7: being so just like really great.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I feel like we could really Oh shit, I got
- 43:25Speaker 1: a text, Yeah, oh they need this back on set.
- 43:29Speaker 5: Oh shoot, yeah, our hour is up. Okay, we gotta go.
- 43:32Speaker 5: What if we just didn't go, but what about the president?
- 43:38Speaker 4: The president swim?
- 43:41Speaker 7: What if I went to my restaurant, and you went
- 43:44Speaker 7: to go reconcile with your dad and you figured out
- 43:48Speaker 7: what the hell you wanted and you went to fucking Popcornopolis.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess it is said that I don't have
- 43:54Speaker 2: a thing.
- 43:56Speaker 1: This has been artists and artists and artists that artists
- 43:58Speaker 1: answer the question. Not that's why they show business. Good night, Hollywood,
- 44:02Speaker 1: that's a cut.
