- 0:03Speaker 1: What is up? Everybody? Again? It is Players only. It's
- 0:07Speaker 1: me and KP. Scott.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Although producer Lady tried to make Scott come back today
- 0:12Speaker 2: for Antarctica because she promised if he won his Luck
- 0:16Speaker 2: of the Day with Ben MGM that he would be back.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I made I'm like.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Jeff Probe for Jeff Probes Probes what's his name on
- 0:23Speaker 2: Survivor And I said, no, Scott, You're still not allowed
- 0:26Speaker 2: back on the island. So Scott, you're going to stay
- 0:28Speaker 2: away from one more day. So KP, it's just you
- 0:31Speaker 2: and I. Anything fun happened for you last night?
- 0:34Speaker 3: No, but this is like our version of Players weekend,
- 0:36Speaker 3: except it's you know, an early week anything exciting yesterday? Now?
- 0:41Speaker 3: No three kids? You know how it is. No, I
- 0:45Speaker 3: don't get him ready to actually don't sports practice? Yeah,
- 0:48Speaker 3: I know, you know, empty nests now. No.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Actually, I had to drive to Gainsville last night and
- 0:52Speaker 2: put a and help my daughter move into in the
- 0:54Speaker 2: University of Florida, and drove up and back yesterday. And
- 0:58Speaker 2: you know, I get charged with doing all the hard
- 1:00Speaker 2: stuff like putting in the ring camera, making sure the
- 1:03Speaker 2: Wi Fi works, so making trips back and forth to
- 1:07Speaker 2: best buy and in all these places right, and then
- 1:10Speaker 2: the best part was I get this ring camera, a
- 1:12Speaker 2: battery power ring camera, and it didn't work. So they're like, oh,
- 1:16Speaker 2: you need charge the battery. So my daughter charges the
- 1:18Speaker 2: battery all night and then it still doesn't work.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So I don't know, Ring, you win, you win, Ring.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I don't know what else to do, so I'm gonna
- 1:25Speaker 2: have to re reconfigure my strategy.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Does that require a trip down again today?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Oh? No, I can't make it. Today.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I had a lot, I had a big day, had
- 1:35Speaker 2: to go to the dentist today, I had to take
- 1:36Speaker 2: my car and they had to get a shot in
- 1:38Speaker 2: my wrist today.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of.
- 1:40Speaker 2: A lot of problems on the Prazinski household today, KP.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So we know what make me happier, though, is if
- 1:46Speaker 2: I got one of these new shirts delivered to me,
- 1:48Speaker 2: these custom player licensed merch shirts on foul territorieshot dot com.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Check it out now to find shirts featuring your favorite players.
- 1:56Speaker 2: That Junior Kaminara want is fire with the Tampa Bay
- 2:00Speaker 2: City collect City Connect jerseys going on. Make sure you
- 2:04Speaker 2: go there, KP. I know you're rocking the roll Ex shirt,
- 2:07Speaker 2: but I mean, get your Kyllee Schwarber sh.
- 2:09Speaker 3: You know, it's a fake roll Eck shirt. It says,
- 2:11Speaker 3: relax my bad.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I can only see the top. I can only see
- 2:15Speaker 2: the top. So I was I was rolling with it.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Uh.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And then also, you know, Hunter Greens out for the
- 2:20Speaker 2: the year and all of next year because they went
- 2:22Speaker 2: in and founded Tommy John. So he had Tommy John,
- 2:25Speaker 2: so you know what he can do for the next year,
- 2:28Speaker 2: relax exactly.
- 2:29Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 2:30Speaker 2: It sucks for Hunter Green, sucks for the Cincinnati Reds.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It's just, uh, yeah, it sucks for them because they're
- 2:37Speaker 2: counting on it's lining their counting.
- 2:39Speaker 3: It's it's a tough blow. Obviously, the game's better when
- 2:42Speaker 3: he's healthy. Obviously the Cincinnati Reds are a lot better
- 2:45Speaker 3: when he's healthy too. It's just it's a shame because
- 2:49Speaker 3: we've we've come so far on the medical side and
- 2:53Speaker 3: and you know, being able to see things, but sometimes,
- 2:58Speaker 3: you know, guys try to rehab the things, they see
- 3:01Speaker 3: something they feel like they can come back, and then
- 3:04Speaker 3: it ends up tearing a little bit later and it
- 3:06Speaker 3: really ends up costing him pretty much most of this
- 3:09Speaker 3: year and then the entirety of next year. So it's
- 3:11Speaker 3: just kind of a it's kind of a bummer, man.
- 3:13Speaker 3: You think if he would have initially when he went
- 3:16Speaker 3: down early in the year and they would have saw
- 3:18Speaker 3: that he needed to have a second Tommy John. You know,
- 3:21Speaker 3: maybe he misses the whole year. Maybe he's ready for
- 3:23Speaker 3: spring training if he had the internal brace, but missing
- 3:26Speaker 3: kind of two years of or Hunter Green in his
- 3:31Speaker 3: prime is a big.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Blow, no doubt, no doubt.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Man.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You know, good thing the Red sign upo that long
- 3:36Speaker 2: term contract. You remember there was rumors of being traded.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Maybe this is why he didn't get traded by the
- 3:41Speaker 2: Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline. Anyways, good luck Hunter,
- 3:45Speaker 2: get back soon and let's charge them Mount charge all right,
- 3:52Speaker 2: charge the Mount and the Padres sweep the Brewers. The
- 3:55Speaker 2: Brewers still have a three game lead over the Cubs.
- 3:58Speaker 2: The Cubs are hot as fire, but this is big
- 4:00Speaker 2: for the Padres. The Padres have jumped now into the
- 4:02Speaker 2: second wild card or no, excuse me, the third wildcard
- 4:06Speaker 2: and they're holding down or is the second or third
- 4:08Speaker 2: co wild Card?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Second?
- 4:09Speaker 2: Sorry, jeez, I get they switch. This is like them
- 4:11Speaker 2: in the Diamondbacks KP switch every day. So now the
- 4:14Speaker 2: Padres are in the second wildcard spot, ahead of the Phillies,
- 4:17Speaker 2: ahead of the Diamondbacks, ahead of the Marlins. Is this
- 4:21Speaker 2: the real version of the San Diego Padres that we
- 4:23Speaker 2: saw these last three games, of these last two weeks,
- 4:25Speaker 2: because the two weeks three weeks before, everyone was like,
- 4:27Speaker 2: oh the Padres stink and they were out of the Wildcard.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Now here they get hot as all get out and
- 4:32Speaker 2: they're back into the Wildcard.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Which one is the real Padres? KP.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I think this is more of the real Padres. Obviously,
- 4:38Speaker 3: you look around the diamond you look at the names
- 4:40Speaker 3: on the back of the jerseys, Manny Machados, Ander Boguards,
- 4:44Speaker 3: cronin Worth, Jackson Merrow. You know, you gotta love what
- 4:47Speaker 3: you've seen out of guys like Davin Sheets. This team,
- 4:51Speaker 3: this team on paper, is really good, and I think
- 4:55Speaker 3: I don't think anyone expected Manny to be hitting like
- 4:57Speaker 3: one eighty midway through the year. I don't think anyone
- 4:59Speaker 3: expected Jack Samrail to struggle the way he did. I
- 5:01Speaker 3: don't think anyone expected Fernando Tatis to have kind of
- 5:05Speaker 3: this power outage that he's had. But I think this
- 5:08Speaker 3: is more along the lines of what everyone in baseball
- 5:11Speaker 3: expected the San Diego Padres to be I don't think
- 5:14Speaker 3: anyone felt like the Padres or even the Diamondbacks were
- 5:18Speaker 3: going to win the West. But I felt like a
- 5:20Speaker 3: lot of people felt these teams were good enough to
- 5:23Speaker 3: be wildcard teams. And honestly, both of those teams got
- 5:26Speaker 3: off to a little bit of a slow start, more
- 5:28Speaker 3: so the Padres, and you know, it was real. It
- 5:31Speaker 3: really came down to some of the pitching depth that
- 5:34Speaker 3: they had, and I felt like they did a great
- 5:35Speaker 3: job at the trade deadline going out and acquiring Robbie Ray,
- 5:40Speaker 3: obviously a guy who's won a cy young, a guy
- 5:42Speaker 3: who can stabilize their rotation. I think we're getting a
- 5:46Speaker 3: new version of Walker Buehler. It's not the same Dodger
- 5:49Speaker 3: Walker Bueler, but I think Walker Bueler has figured out
- 5:51Speaker 3: how to pitch with the stuff that he has and
- 5:53Speaker 3: be very effective. And you know, obviously, if you get
- 5:56Speaker 3: to that back end of the bullpen, I don't think
- 5:59Speaker 3: anyone in baseball has better back into the bullpen in
- 6:01Speaker 3: the San Diego Padres. So I think this is the
- 6:03Speaker 3: real version of the Padres. You know, in baseball is
- 6:08Speaker 3: such a long season. It's not how you start, it's
- 6:10Speaker 3: really how you finish. And I know there's still some
- 6:12Speaker 3: time to go in the season, but if you're a
- 6:15Speaker 3: team like the Padres, what a great time to get
- 6:18Speaker 3: hot right now. Kind of roll this momentum, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 3: through the end of August into September and you never know.
- 6:25Speaker 3: You know that it's not always the best team that
- 6:27Speaker 3: wins the World Series, it's the team that gets the hottest,
- 6:29Speaker 3: and the Padres certainly have the makings of a team.
- 6:33Speaker 3: If they get hot, they can go on a magical run.
- 6:36Speaker 5: I know this is a busy time of year for
- 6:38Speaker 5: many of you, including AJ. When you're home, you need
- 6:41Speaker 5: everything to get done fast with quality.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Absolutely That's why Factor meals are perfect for me. Ready

- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the Padres jumped six teams in this
- 7:42Speaker 2: in this winning you know, hot streak that they're on.
- 7:44Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 7:45Speaker 2: That's what's amazing to me is they jump six teams.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Not usually you're like, oh, we jumped a team or two.
- 7:49Speaker 1: They jumped six.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Teams to get into this position. So if they keep
- 7:54Speaker 2: doing this, they're gonna be dangerous. Like you mentioned Robbie
- 7:56Speaker 2: Ray Michael King in that in that Casey with that
- 8:01Speaker 2: rotation that back into the bullpen. If Tatis Machado, Merrill
- 8:05Speaker 2: Xander Bogarts has had a nice second half. If those
- 8:07Speaker 2: guys do what they're doing, Crona Worth, then they can
- 8:10Speaker 2: be dangerous I think in the postseason. But on the
- 8:12Speaker 2: other side, the Brewers get swept. They still have an
- 8:15Speaker 2: unbelievable record. Yes, the Cubs are playing great, they're still
- 8:18Speaker 2: behind them, but three for twenty eight with runners in
- 8:20Speaker 2: scoring position in this series. Jake Bauer said the offense
- 8:24Speaker 2: needs to be better. They had a team meeting after
- 8:27Speaker 2: this game, which to me is crazy. I mean, they
- 8:29Speaker 2: still have a great record, and what do you think
- 8:31Speaker 2: this team meeting was about?
- 8:32Speaker 1: KP was Pat Murphy like.
- 8:34Speaker 3: It's okay, guys, Like, dude, they lost three games in
- 8:37Speaker 3: a row. I think you know whether it was players
- 8:39Speaker 3: only or Pat Murphy was in there, but yeah, maybe
- 8:42Speaker 3: just kind of the message is probably the same lines
- 8:46Speaker 3: as Jake Maoers delivered to the media. Just calmed that down,
- 8:49Speaker 3: you know, like we ran into a good team in
- 8:52Speaker 3: the Padres. You know, baseball is a very difficult sport
- 8:55Speaker 3: to be great every single day. And I think this
- 9:00Speaker 3: kind of reminds us of the conversation we had yesterday.
- 9:02Speaker 3: You know, when you look at a series and you
- 9:04Speaker 3: go three for twenty eight with runners in scoring position,
- 9:08Speaker 3: the margins between wins and losses are so small in
- 9:11Speaker 3: the major leagues. The fact that you're getting twenty guys
- 9:14Speaker 3: on you're just not coming up with a big hit.
- 9:16Speaker 3: You know, they go six for twenty eight in that series.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Are we talking about a three game suite for the Brewers?
- 9:21Speaker 3: So it would be interesting to know what the conversation
- 9:25Speaker 3: was like behind those closed doors. You know, if Pat
- 9:28Speaker 3: Murphy was involved, I would imagine it's a lot about
- 9:31Speaker 3: just staying the course. You know, this is part of
- 9:34Speaker 3: the game players. Only maybe it's someone like Jake Bowers
- 9:38Speaker 3: who steps up and it kind of delivers that same message, like, hey,
- 9:40Speaker 3: let's calm down. We're trying too much. We're at our
- 9:43Speaker 3: best when we were doing X, Y and Z, when
- 9:45Speaker 3: we're just going out having fun. You know, things haven't
- 9:48Speaker 3: gone well for us recently, you know, we started to
- 9:51Speaker 3: press a little bit, but we're at our best we
- 9:53Speaker 3: play in Milwaukee Brewers Baseball when we're just going out there,
- 9:56Speaker 3: playing the right way, playing for each other. But I
- 9:59Speaker 3: don't think it's a concern. I do believe that how
- 10:02Speaker 3: well the Cubs are playing and kind of breathing down
- 10:04Speaker 3: their neck, it's a little bit of a concern. But
- 10:08Speaker 3: both these teams are destined for the postseason. I know,
- 10:11Speaker 3: ultimately a team like Milwaukee or even Chicago would like
- 10:15Speaker 3: to win the division because that's a cool thing to accomplish,
- 10:19Speaker 3: but also getting that potential that first round by in
- 10:22Speaker 3: the postseason is huge for a lot of teams.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Agreed, Agreed, But how worried you about the Brewers three
- 10:28Speaker 2: for twenty eight? Fine, but they're Joey ortiz Ou Cooper
- 10:31Speaker 2: prouts out. They had Terang having to play shortstop, Andrew
- 10:34Speaker 2: Vaughn played third to try to find some offense. Is
- 10:37Speaker 2: this just a case of a bunch of injuries happening
- 10:39Speaker 2: all at once and when these guys come back, the
- 10:40Speaker 2: Brewers will be fine.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Yeah. I think you just kind of kind of weather
- 10:44Speaker 3: the storm. I think, you know, they're being tested a
- 10:48Speaker 3: little bit in terms of their depth in the minor leagues,
- 10:50Speaker 3: potentially having guys kind of fill up, and then you know,
- 10:53Speaker 3: you utilizing some of the versatility that they have. You know,
- 10:56Speaker 3: I don't think in a perfect role playing Andrew Vaughn
- 10:59Speaker 3: at third base is something that they'd love to do
- 11:02Speaker 3: for a long period of time, but thankfully he has
- 11:05Speaker 3: enough versatility to move over there. I think Bryce Terrang,
- 11:08Speaker 3: you know, at second base, is arguably the best second
- 11:10Speaker 3: basement in the game, or if not one of the
- 11:12Speaker 3: top second basements in the game, you move them a shortstop.
- 11:15Speaker 3: It's just you know, when you take a guy like
- 11:17Speaker 3: that who's so good and play second base every day
- 11:19Speaker 3: and you move him to the short sup position, are
- 11:21Speaker 3: you going to take away from some of his offense
- 11:23Speaker 3: which makes him a lead at his position. But yeah,
- 11:26Speaker 3: I think it's more about just so many guys kind
- 11:29Speaker 3: of getting banged up at the same time, if they're
- 11:31Speaker 3: able to just kind of weather this storm, and bad
- 11:35Speaker 3: timing for the Brewers because you know, if this happens,
- 11:38Speaker 3: you know four or five, six weeks ago, that sizeable
- 11:42Speaker 3: gap that they had between them and the Cubs would
- 11:45Speaker 3: make them feel a little bit more like they can
- 11:47Speaker 3: weather this storm. But I do feel like there's a
- 11:49Speaker 3: little bit of sense of urgency knowing how that gap
- 11:53Speaker 3: has closed between them and the Cubs and how well
- 11:55Speaker 3: the Cubs are playing.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. And guess who they get to play next?
- 12:00Speaker 2: The Brewers they get They get four in the Dodgers,
- 12:03Speaker 2: four against the Dodgers in LA. So you know, the
- 12:06Speaker 2: schedule only gets easier starting tonight. The Brewers get to
- 12:09Speaker 2: play the Dodgers, so at least they.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Have that going for him.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Uh, we missed Skiens School or sorry Scoobale Misselerowski. I
- 12:17Speaker 2: think by a day the Brewers need to play well.
- 12:20Speaker 2: The Dodgers haven't been playing well that great either, so
- 12:22Speaker 2: it's kind of like, all right, who's playing better of
- 12:26Speaker 2: the worst. I guess I don't know if that's even
- 12:28Speaker 2: though they're both in first place and they're both playing
- 12:30Speaker 2: really well. Here, let's see the pitching matchup tonight is uh,
- 12:34Speaker 2: Drohan Versuszaki, and then it gets good after that. I'm
- 12:37Speaker 2: not knocking those guys. Then you get gas or Yamamoto.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Then you get Scooble, Mizerowski, Robleski. That'll be the Polish
- 12:46Speaker 2: national starting team on the WBC in twenty twenty nine.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Uh, and then.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Henderson's Scooball So you know, Burers fans can eat, can
- 12:56Speaker 2: be mad at Kratz and I if Scooble out pitches
- 12:58Speaker 2: Logan Henderson, because that is a guy who the Brewers
- 13:00Speaker 2: did not allegedly want to give up to get to Zerk'scubel.
- 13:04Speaker 2: We are so close to misv School. How good would that?
- 13:06Speaker 1: E Ben? If it was misvers School, Gosh, it would
- 13:08Speaker 1: have been awesome.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Right, yeah, I mean it would have been so good
- 13:11Speaker 3: for the game. You know, watching those two guys face
- 13:14Speaker 3: off against each other would have been musty TV. But
- 13:18Speaker 3: it's crazy how baseball works like that. We just talked about,
- 13:21Speaker 3: you know, the Brewers having to go through this really
- 13:23Speaker 3: tough stretch of guys being out, and then sure enough
- 13:26Speaker 3: their schedule lines up with the Dodgers, and then you
- 13:28Speaker 3: talked about a matchup between trek'scubel and the potential piece
- 13:32Speaker 3: that they were not willing to give up. It's just
- 13:35Speaker 3: like baseball just throws you these little carrots every once
- 13:38Speaker 3: in a while for you to sit back and enjoy
- 13:41Speaker 3: and enjoy the game.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Trent Grosham, nice night last night.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Two homers, four URBI is a double as guess what
- 13:51Speaker 2: imagine this? The Mariners lost again, KP. They are on
- 13:55Speaker 2: struggle city right now. They have lost five six game
- 14:00Speaker 2: five or five five six games in a row now
- 14:02Speaker 2: and got swept by Tampa. Now they're they've lost the
- 14:05Speaker 2: first two here in Yankee Stadium, so there's five in
- 14:07Speaker 2: a row. So they've lost their last five at least.
- 14:09Speaker 2: But can they figure this out? Can the Mariners right
- 14:13Speaker 2: this ship right now? We said before going into this series,
- 14:15Speaker 2: if they get swept by the Yankees.
- 14:16Speaker 1: It could be the end. Do you think it's the
- 14:18Speaker 1: end if they lose again today?
- 14:20Speaker 3: I don't think it gets any easier for him. Max
- 14:22Speaker 3: Reid sitting on the mountain tonight, I know missed some time,
- 14:26Speaker 3: but sometimes we miss time. You're a little bit more fresh,
- 14:28Speaker 3: and he's got enough starts under his belt since he's
- 14:31Speaker 3: come back from the I l that he's Max reed
- 14:34Speaker 3: of old. I mean, he's sitting at a two eight eight.
- 14:37Speaker 1: E or A.
- 14:39Speaker 3: It's definitely an uphill battle. It's an uphill stream. I'm
- 14:42Speaker 3: gonna use kind of like a Seattle Northeast reference. It's
- 14:45Speaker 3: a it's an uphill stream for a battle for them
- 14:48Speaker 3: right now. And I just don't think they have enough
- 14:51Speaker 3: in the tank to be able to kind of withstand,
- 14:55Speaker 3: you know, losing again today. But just what they've done recently,
- 14:58Speaker 3: I just think it's it is going to go down
- 15:00Speaker 3: as one of those teams with what you saw out
- 15:03Speaker 3: of them last year, how good that pitching was, the
- 15:06Speaker 3: starting rotation, how elite the bullpen was. You know, Cal Rawley,
- 15:12Speaker 3: the unbelievable season. You know, we made argument on this
- 15:15Speaker 3: show that he should have been the MVP last year.
- 15:17Speaker 3: To come back a year later and have such an
- 15:20Speaker 3: awful season, It's just confusing.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Alex Bregman had a night last night KP three hits,
- 15:28Speaker 2: three homers, seven RBIs, two walks, first career three home
- 15:32Speaker 2: run game. I never hit three home runs in a game,
- 15:34Speaker 2: did you?
- 15:36Speaker 3: No? No? No? And I'm actually surprised that Alex Bregman
- 15:39Speaker 3: hasn't done it either, considering he's spent most of his
- 15:42Speaker 3: time in Houston and we know he loves to pull
- 15:44Speaker 3: the ball in the air. But what a great time
- 15:47Speaker 3: for him to get hot for this team. I think
- 15:49Speaker 3: obviously we talked a little bit about him yesterday in
- 15:52Speaker 3: the Cubs. But you go out and get a guy
- 15:54Speaker 3: like Alex Bregman, what he does to your organization, a
- 15:56Speaker 3: guy who's won everywhere he's been he ran, is that
- 16:00Speaker 3: floor for everyone else. And he didn't get off to
- 16:02Speaker 3: a great start with this time in Chicago, but he's
- 16:06Speaker 3: heating up right now. And when he gets hot, he
- 16:08Speaker 3: can he can carry an offense.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, how hot is he?
- 16:11Speaker 2: Bob Nightingale just tweeted last twenty six games July eleven, three,
- 16:15Speaker 2: twenty four, three ninety three, six fifty seven that equals
- 16:19Speaker 2: one thousand and fifty one ohps, nine homers, twenty seven runs,
- 16:22Speaker 2: twenty six RBIs, eighteen extra basits, seventy one total bases,
- 16:27Speaker 2: twenty seven runs, twenty six RBIs twenty five runs to
- 16:31Speaker 2: save forty two statcast fielding run. But I don't know,
- 16:34Speaker 2: I'm the last two up.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I was gonna say, Bob didn't miss a single stat
- 16:37Speaker 3: on there.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I mean, I know, I showers. Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 3: No, I feel like after you kind of give the
- 16:44Speaker 3: the traditional like stat line of average and on base
- 16:48Speaker 3: and slugging, you could do the math and then maybe
- 16:50Speaker 3: some home run, some extra base hits. But man, he
- 16:52Speaker 3: went down the entire Baseball Reference Page.
- 16:57Speaker 5: Science experiment for the one minute we had to tell
- 16:59Speaker 5: you about why we love Quint's electrolytes, including watermelon salt,
- 17:03Speaker 5: raspberry salt.
- 17:04Speaker 4: And I'm holding a citrus salt.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Just opened it and pour some powder into my water,
- 17:09Speaker 5: shake it up, and AJ, why do you love it?
- 17:11Speaker 2: I love Quints because after a long night out, a
- 17:13Speaker 2: long day at the gym, a long walk in this
- 17:15Speaker 2: Florida humidity, it tastes great and it gives me all
- 17:17Speaker 2: the electrolytes I need. Why sugar free Stevy a free
- 17:22Speaker 2: keto approve and taste sweet because of that delicious fermented rice.
- 17:29Speaker 5: It does taste really good. I'm drinking it right now
- 17:32Speaker 5: while we talking about it. It's also made in the USA,

- 18:05Speaker 2: All right, time for better than box scores. And since
- 18:07Speaker 2: producer lated, he told me to ask you this kid,
- 18:09Speaker 2: because she's now telling us what to say on here,
- 18:11Speaker 2: even though I thought it was players.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Only Scott's on here, so she can't tell us what
- 18:14Speaker 1: to do.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Are the Blue Jays better after the trade deadline? Because
- 18:18Speaker 2: we talked about this. They had an interesting trade deadline.
- 18:20Speaker 2: They sold some guys, but they also bought back guys
- 18:23Speaker 2: with control. So are the Blue Jays better because they're
- 18:26Speaker 2: what a game and a half out of a wild
- 18:28Speaker 2: card right now?
- 18:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean look at it, so if you take
- 18:32Speaker 3: the emotional component out and everything that Kevin Godsmas meant
- 18:35Speaker 3: to this organization, when you just go pitcher for pitcher,
- 18:39Speaker 3: yes they got better. You know, and obviously var shows
- 18:42Speaker 3: an incredible defensive center fielder. He wasn't doing much offensively
- 18:46Speaker 3: this year. He had, you know, really a poor showing
- 18:49Speaker 3: offensively compared to what he had shown when healthy last year.
- 18:53Speaker 3: And then you kind of just insert Bateman into that
- 18:56Speaker 3: role kind of young, energetic guy. But yeah, I do
- 18:59Speaker 3: think they got better, you know, at the trade deadline.
- 19:02Speaker 3: And you know, obviously Jeff Hoffmin was a big piece
- 19:05Speaker 3: of that bullpen. You know, he removed from the closure role,
- 19:08Speaker 3: but he was actually throwing the ball really well in
- 19:11Speaker 3: kind of that seventh eighth inning role. But for a
- 19:15Speaker 3: guy like him, unfortunately he's always gonna be remembered in
- 19:18Speaker 3: a Blue Jay's uniform for one pitch in the Wolk Series,
- 19:20Speaker 3: no matter how much he pitched well this year out
- 19:24Speaker 3: of that bullpen, it was probably best to kind of
- 19:27Speaker 3: move on from that situation. But I do believe that
- 19:29Speaker 3: they are better. You know, obviously the Trey Is Savage
- 19:33Speaker 3: injury hurts a lot, but you talk about one two
- 19:36Speaker 3: punch with Jose Soriano and Dylan See's at the top
- 19:39Speaker 3: of your rotation. But yeah, I think more than anything,
- 19:44Speaker 3: I think clarity for that team going into that trade
- 19:47Speaker 3: deadlines allowed them to kind of play free. And I
- 19:49Speaker 3: also do think that the fact kind of probably what
- 19:52Speaker 3: the Seattle Mariners were kind of going through early in
- 19:55Speaker 3: the year, kind of being a team that you know,
- 19:57Speaker 3: has underperformed of recent history, but then they go deep
- 20:00Speaker 3: into the postseason. Last year, they're a team that had
- 20:03Speaker 3: a target on their back, much like the Toronto Blue
- 20:05Speaker 3: Jays had to target on their back early in the year.
- 20:07Speaker 3: I don't think that team was fully comfortable in that role.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Now that they've kind of played, you know, mediocre during
- 20:15Speaker 3: this year, they're kind of a forgotten team. They're kind
- 20:18Speaker 3: of back in that underdog role. You know, start of
- 20:21Speaker 3: last week, they were like four or five games out
- 20:23Speaker 3: of a wildcard spot. Once they got that clarity of
- 20:27Speaker 3: the trade deadline, I think they've just been able to
- 20:30Speaker 3: go out and play baseball, kind of embrace that underdog role.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Everyone's counting us out. And they've been actually playing some
- 20:36Speaker 3: really good baseball. And you know, I get a chance
- 20:38Speaker 3: to talk directly to Blue Jay fans on Bluebird Territory,
- 20:42Speaker 3: and that was kind of my message was, this is
- 20:45Speaker 3: not the same team from last year. They're not this
- 20:47Speaker 3: team that is going to score a lot of runs
- 20:50Speaker 3: every single game. They're not going to you know, Vladdie's
- 20:53Speaker 3: not going to put the team on his back right now.
- 20:54Speaker 3: But the one thing you can kind of sink your
- 20:56Speaker 3: teeth in is what they did post deadline. They had
- 21:00Speaker 3: a brutal schedule. They played some really good teams. They
- 21:03Speaker 3: played Houston, they played Chicago on a makeup game, then
- 21:06Speaker 3: they went into Philadelphia, they played four extra inning games.
- 21:10Speaker 3: They were in every one of those games, and they
- 21:12Speaker 3: came out and they showed the grit, they showed the heart.
- 21:16Speaker 3: And I think it's this team that, despite everything they
- 21:19Speaker 3: did last year, I think it's a team blue Jay
- 21:21Speaker 3: fans can get behind and be like, you know what,
- 21:23Speaker 3: they do have a lot of heart, they do have
- 21:24Speaker 3: a lot of fight, They do have a lot of grit.
- 21:26Speaker 3: And when you look at the standings today, them sitting
- 21:29Speaker 3: one and a half games back, it's kind of a
- 21:32Speaker 3: miracle for everything that they've gone through as a team
- 21:35Speaker 3: this year. They have guys that missed early in the year,
- 21:38Speaker 3: like Alejandro Kirk is starting to kind of come into form.
- 21:41Speaker 1: You know.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Vladdie had you know, three days off during that road trip.
- 21:44Speaker 3: He's starting to come back and form. This team is
- 21:48Speaker 3: potentially a little sleeping giant kind of waiting to break out.
- 21:51Speaker 3: And you know what they've done to the Red Sox
- 21:54Speaker 3: these last three games, it's kind of a little bit
- 21:57Speaker 3: of a barometer for them too, to show that they
- 21:59Speaker 3: are capable team of going to the postseason.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yeah, well, Soriano pitched awesome last night. Obviously, they beat
- 22:07Speaker 2: the Red Sox third time in a row, so they're
- 22:09Speaker 2: playing really well.
- 22:10Speaker 4: I just.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I mean, I love this trade for next year. I
- 22:14Speaker 1: love you Savage.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Gosh, if you could just get your Savage to be
- 22:16Speaker 2: healthy right for the whole year, because he's really struggled
- 22:19Speaker 2: since the start. Dylan Cees is a stud. They found it.
- 22:22Speaker 2: They found a closer, Louis Varlin. Uh but gosh, I
- 22:26Speaker 2: have to ask this and always goes back to this,
- 22:28Speaker 2: what the heck's wrong with Vladdie?
- 22:30Speaker 1: He's got no pop? Where does pop go? KP can't
- 22:33Speaker 1: hit Almurn, dude, Toronto.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I wish look at it if I if I had
- 22:37Speaker 3: that answer, I probably wouldn't be on this show with you.
- 22:39Speaker 3: I'd probably be sitting in the dugout in Toronto getting
- 22:43Speaker 3: a ton of money paid if I had to fix
- 22:45Speaker 3: for him. And I don't know, I I and to me,
- 22:48Speaker 3: it comes back to a couple of things, and these
- 22:50Speaker 3: are these are strictly speculation. You know, even though I'm
- 22:54Speaker 3: there and I covered the team for sports Now, I'm
- 22:56Speaker 3: not in the dugout. I'm not a player. I don't
- 22:59Speaker 3: get inside information. This is strictly speculation. He's either physically
- 23:04Speaker 3: not right or there's been something potentially off the field,
- 23:08Speaker 3: family related, you know, something like that that's distracting him.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Because he's just too talented of a hitter. And AJ
- 23:17Speaker 3: you played in this game a long long time. There's
- 23:20Speaker 3: just certain players that are just more talented than me
- 23:23Speaker 3: and you and the guys that you sit within the clubhouse.
- 23:26Speaker 3: And Vladi is one of those guys. And to me,
- 23:28Speaker 3: it is just unexplainable that he's, you know, a six
- 23:34Speaker 3: ninety six eighty ops guy. He's got seven home runs
- 23:37Speaker 3: on the season. He hasn't hit a home run at
- 23:40Speaker 3: home at some point, even you know, utility slap the
- 23:45Speaker 3: ball around the infield type of guy is going to
- 23:47Speaker 3: run into a home or at home if given at
- 23:50Speaker 3: bats every single day. To me, it is just one
- 23:53Speaker 3: of those things that maybe when the season's over, maybe
- 23:56Speaker 3: we find out either something physically was wrong or like
- 23:59Speaker 3: I said, maybe there's something kind of distracting him from
- 24:04Speaker 3: being the version of himself that we all know he
- 24:06Speaker 3: can be. But it's hard because when you watch him
- 24:09Speaker 3: play every day like I do, he still goes out
- 24:11Speaker 3: there and plays with this joy and this passion, and
- 24:14Speaker 3: if there is something going on, he's not showing it.
- 24:17Speaker 3: And we talk a lot about on Bluebird, you know,
- 24:19Speaker 3: despite how poorly offensively, especially from the power standpoint he's been,
- 24:24Speaker 3: he posts every day. He plays great defense. He's a
- 24:28Speaker 3: great teammate. But man, I wish I had the answer,
- 24:31Speaker 3: because I think that answer is probably worth a lot
- 24:35Speaker 3: of money. If you had the answer for a seven
- 24:37Speaker 3: hundred million dollar guy, I'm sure there's a nice little
- 24:41Speaker 3: reward for that.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, nobody knows. If they knew, they'd
- 24:47Speaker 1: have fixed it. All right.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Well, then let's ask this. I know you're on Bluebird territory.
- 24:49Speaker 2: The schedule's favorable in September, right, they have a little
- 24:53Speaker 2: lighter schedule than some Okamoto has been pretty good for him,
- 24:57Speaker 2: you know, some other guys have stepped up for him.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Has been unbelievable behind the plate. If you haven't seen him,
- 25:02Speaker 2: catch tune into a Blue Jays game. He's fun to
- 25:04Speaker 2: watch behind the plate. I'm not asking KP straight up.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Do they get into the postseason? Do they figure out
- 25:09Speaker 2: a way to sneak into the postseason?
- 25:11Speaker 3: Look at this was the big debate starting kind of
- 25:13Speaker 3: this after they got out of that kind of gauntlet
- 25:15Speaker 3: shreat with Houston, that makeup day in Chicago Philly, and
- 25:19Speaker 3: they actually had a very successful road trip, and then
- 25:22Speaker 3: you point it to them coming back home facing a
- 25:24Speaker 3: Boston Red Sox team that really just hasn't lost, then
- 25:27Speaker 3: the New York Yankees. Then you go to the House
- 25:29Speaker 3: of Whoores in Tampa with another team that never loses.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Then you face the Yankees again, and I think we
- 25:35Speaker 3: were gonna have a lot of clarity of where this
- 25:38Speaker 3: team was going to be at. But just after three days,
- 25:40Speaker 3: they've climbed three spots. You know, from being or two
- 25:43Speaker 3: spots from being four, three spots, from being four and
- 25:46Speaker 3: a half out of a wildcard spot to now a
- 25:49Speaker 3: game and a half out of a wildcard spot. They've
- 25:51Speaker 3: gone up against the Boston Red Sox, a team that
- 25:53Speaker 3: never loses, and they're on the verge of potentially sweeping
- 25:56Speaker 3: them tonight. So you know, I think we'll know a
- 26:00Speaker 3: lot more after they kind of go through this gauntlet
- 26:02Speaker 3: of the American League East teams. But man, they got
- 26:06Speaker 3: as good as shot as anyone else. You know, obviously
- 26:10Speaker 3: what they did last year, there's got to have a
- 26:13Speaker 3: there's a good feeling in that clubhouse that and you
- 26:17Speaker 3: know what it is like AJ once you get to
- 26:19Speaker 3: the postseason, that's something you chase the rest of your life.
- 26:21Speaker 3: So I think there's a lot of hunger in these
- 26:23Speaker 3: guys to get back to prove that it wasn't a fluke.
- 26:26Speaker 3: But obviously, you know, as a competitor, that's what we
- 26:28Speaker 3: play for. We play for an opportunity to play in October.
- 26:32Speaker 3: And I think despite everything that's happened this year on
- 26:35Speaker 3: the injury front, underperforming guys, Vladdie having an awful year.
- 26:40Speaker 3: If you would ask anyone at the beginning of spring
- 26:42Speaker 3: training age. I'm asking you this too. If someone came
- 26:46Speaker 3: in and said, hey, we're gonna insert you on August thirteenth,
- 26:50Speaker 3: and you're one and a half games out of a
- 26:52Speaker 3: wildcard spot and you could start the season right there,
- 26:54Speaker 3: would you take that? Of course, the answer probably yes.
- 26:57Speaker 1: As long as you're playing games.
- 26:59Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what your record is, as long as you,
- 27:02Speaker 2: like they said in Dumb and Dumber, so you're saying,
- 27:03Speaker 2: there's a chance, even if it's one in a million, right,
- 27:06Speaker 2: and I think you would definitely take that. Now, I'd
- 27:08Speaker 2: rather have I'd rather be the Yankees or the Red Sox,
- 27:11Speaker 2: where you have a little bit of cushion. But hey,
- 27:13Speaker 2: at least you're playing for some There's nothing worse than
- 27:15Speaker 2: being into September almost and not having anything to play for.
- 27:17Speaker 2: The Angels, the Rockies, you know, you know the teams
- 27:20Speaker 2: right that aren't playing for anything. So absolutely all right,
- 27:22Speaker 2: let's get to Luis Castillo the rock last night for
- 27:26Speaker 2: the White Sox real quick, KP. This was a deal
- 27:28Speaker 2: that people scrutinized because of the money going back and forth,
- 27:31Speaker 2: but here he is one hit ten punchies, best start
- 27:33Speaker 2: of the season. Home debut with the White Sox. Will
- 27:36Speaker 2: he help the White Sox not only this year in
- 27:38Speaker 2: the postseason the next year.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Let me ask you this AJ. Did they have a
- 27:43Speaker 3: better option before they got him?
- 27:46Speaker 1: I mean, it wasn't the fact that they didn't.
- 27:50Speaker 2: I don't know if they had a better option, but
- 27:51Speaker 2: if you looked at his numbers this year, they weren't good,
- 27:53Speaker 2: and it was the price tag, right, it's twenty three
- 27:55Speaker 2: million dollars next year. I know they gave up Sir
- 27:58Speaker 2: Anthony Demingez, but I think the Whites took on all
- 28:00Speaker 2: the money and I think they sent the Mariners some money.
- 28:02Speaker 2: So it wasn't the fact about the option. It was
- 28:06Speaker 2: more about the fact that, man, that's a lot of
- 28:09Speaker 2: money to take on for a guy who had over
- 28:10Speaker 2: a five era into August. So I thought the move
- 28:14Speaker 2: was good because it gives you a guy that's been
- 28:16Speaker 2: through this battles before when a lot of the White
- 28:18Speaker 2: Sox haven't. But if he pitches like this, hell yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 2: they didn't have a better option.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:23Speaker 3: And then obviously experience, battle tested, you know, those are
- 28:27Speaker 3: big things. And then you know, we've spent a little
- 28:29Speaker 3: bit time talking about you know, he was in this
- 28:31Speaker 3: kind of weird, kind of piggyback role. Wasn't starting. Was
- 28:35Speaker 3: kind of relieving, you know, a little bit of uncertainty.
- 28:37Speaker 3: And then sometimes when you've spent a lot of time
- 28:39Speaker 3: in an organization and certain things pop up like that,
- 28:44Speaker 3: a new beginning, a fresh start, you know, a new
- 28:47Speaker 3: city could do guys wonders. And I think also, you know,
- 28:53Speaker 3: there's no denying you know, he didn't have good numbers
- 28:56Speaker 3: when he got treated, and he owed a lot of money.
- 28:58Speaker 3: But I think when you have that utimate belief in
- 29:00Speaker 3: an organization that believes in you, you know, you want
- 29:04Speaker 3: to prove them right. And him coming out and pitching
- 29:07Speaker 3: the way he did yesterday, is this what we're gonna
- 29:09Speaker 3: expect to see out of Luis Castill every single time
- 29:12Speaker 3: he takes the mount? Probably not, but this is showing
- 29:15Speaker 3: the entire baseball world he's still capable of doing these things.
- 29:20Speaker 2: True, true, all right, one more before we get to
- 29:23Speaker 2: bridge Roli. Paul Skins was spotted on the beach recently
- 29:26Speaker 2: in Miami. They're playing the Marlins right now, and some
- 29:29Speaker 2: paparazzi or some fan took a picture of Paul Skeins
- 29:32Speaker 2: with a shirt off walking next to his girlfriend Livy Dunn.
- 29:36Speaker 2: He's taken a lot of heat online KP for being,
- 29:39Speaker 2: you know, not having a six pack, not being jack.
- 29:42Speaker 2: But how many pictures did you play with that did
- 29:44Speaker 2: not have the best bodies? They were usually the best pictures, Honestly,
- 29:47Speaker 2: the guys who were jacked and shredded and all that,
- 29:49Speaker 2: those are always the guys that seemed to get hurt.
- 29:51Speaker 2: It was the guys that were a little bit fatter
- 29:52Speaker 2: that seemed to take the ball. Mark Burley comes to mind.
- 29:55Speaker 3: I I'm looking at I'm looking at the two Jerseys
- 29:57Speaker 3: I got hanging in this room over here, and I
- 29:59Speaker 3: got Clinton kersh I got Mark Burley up here to
- 30:01Speaker 3: talk about the ultimate dad bods, right, And that's the
- 30:04Speaker 3: beauty of our sport is, especially at the picture position.
- 30:08Speaker 3: You don't need to be this physical specimen to pitch.
- 30:11Speaker 3: You just have to have a really good arm, you
- 30:13Speaker 3: have to have a good feel for what you're doing.
- 30:15Speaker 3: You got to have good mechanics. But I mean, I
- 30:18Speaker 3: can't really name a ton of pictures off the top
- 30:20Speaker 3: of my head, especially starting pictures that were just this
- 30:24Speaker 3: Greek god looking type of person. So I don't know
- 30:26Speaker 3: what people are complaining about with Paul's schemes.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Well, they're just looking because he's having a down year.
- 30:31Speaker 2: His velocity's downstairs saying, oh, look at him. I guarantee
- 30:34Speaker 2: if you took a shirt off last year, you probably
- 30:35Speaker 2: looked the same the same way. He maybe needs a
- 30:38Speaker 2: mix and a tan, But you do you, Paul, keep
- 30:40Speaker 2: doing you. And if you go out and shove next time,
- 30:42Speaker 2: you can tell all those people out there to shove it,
- 30:45Speaker 2: because I mean, you're pretty good. You're still pretty good,
- 30:48Speaker 2: even though they want you to never give up a run, Paul,
- 30:51Speaker 2: You're still pretty good. And next time, I bet you
- 30:53Speaker 2: when he goes to the beach in Miami, he'll have
- 30:55Speaker 2: one of those tank tops that you had on yesterday, KP.
- 30:57Speaker 2: To cover up his dad body.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Hey it's not a bad idea, but maybe he's working
- 31:03Speaker 3: on his TN today, you know, and it Yeah, it's unfair.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I mean we talked a little bit yesterday to expectations.
- 31:09Speaker 3: He's just set this bar that is so high for
- 31:12Speaker 3: himself that the world is gonna find any reason for
- 31:16Speaker 3: him when he doesn't reach those expectations. Now it's he's
- 31:19Speaker 3: out of shape. He's got a dad boughd he needs
- 31:21Speaker 3: to spend more time in the gym. You know he's
- 31:23Speaker 3: not pitching, Well, how could he be out on the
- 31:25Speaker 3: beach enjoying himself. You know that's that's crazy talk, all right.
- 31:34Speaker 1: See geek seek gek KP. So here's what we're gonna
- 31:37Speaker 1: do today.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Yesterday we didn't get to play this game, but today
- 31:39Speaker 2: we get to play the game of pick a game.
- 31:42Speaker 2: You want to go to tonight, it's got to be tonight.
- 31:44Speaker 2: A lot of day games today, a lot of games
- 31:46Speaker 2: being played. The White Sox Reds game got moved early
- 31:48Speaker 2: because of weather. So give me the game you have
- 31:50Speaker 2: to see tonight or you want to go see tonight
- 31:52Speaker 2: if you had a chance tonight.
- 31:54Speaker 3: So three oh seven doesn't count. But if I'm may
- 31:57Speaker 3: go to the three oh seven game, Yeah, yeah, I'm
- 32:00Speaker 3: teleport I'm teleporting there. I'm going to the Blue j
- 32:02Speaker 3: game today because Max Scherzer has a chance to pitch.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Is three thousand professional inning today. I'm a baseball nerd,
- 32:10Speaker 3: a baseball historian. It hasn't been done many, many times
- 32:13Speaker 3: in the game. So getting an opportunity to witness history,
- 32:17Speaker 3: I'd love to be in the Rogers Center for that.
- 32:19Speaker 2: You're such a homer. You are such I mean, what's
- 32:21Speaker 2: that jersey behind you? What is that jersey behind you?
- 32:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just a Blue Jay jersey.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Oh okay, no big deal. Yeah, so you're a homer.
- 32:28Speaker 1: You know where i'd go. I'm going. I'm not gonna lie.
- 32:30Speaker 2: I'm going Brewers Dodgers to the best teams in the
- 32:33Speaker 2: National League, two of the best teams in baseball. It's
- 32:35Speaker 2: a big series. The Brewers just got swept by the Padres.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I'm calling Sea geek and I'm saying, Hey, I want
- 32:40Speaker 2: those seats right behind.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Home plate in Dodgers Stadium.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Dennis Gilbert sits in them, you know, Pat Sajack sits
- 32:46Speaker 2: in them. Mary Hart sits in them. I want one
- 32:49Speaker 2: of those seats. I'm gonna buy Mary's heart Mary Heart seat.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I'm gonna kick Scott Boris. I mean, Scott, I'm taking
- 32:54Speaker 2: your seat today, right behind home play. Hopefully they sell
- 32:56Speaker 2: those on seakeek. It might be a little expensive, but
- 32:58Speaker 2: that's gonna be the game.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I'm going too.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, we might have to kick Miami Marlin guy out too,
- 33:04Speaker 3: because I'm oh God, the game. He's probably going he crushes.
- 33:07Speaker 3: He probably going to be there.
- 33:09Speaker 2: He crushes Sea Keek. I mean he's at the most random.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I'm doing a game in Kansas City and here he
- 33:14Speaker 2: is right here with this. Why is he always wears
- 33:15Speaker 2: hat sideways too? By the way, can we not? I
- 33:18Speaker 2: mean people say, oh, why do you wear your hat backwards?
- 33:19Speaker 2: But at least I don't go Marlin's man where it's
- 33:21Speaker 2: sideways like this?
- 33:22Speaker 1: Right?
- 33:23Speaker 3: How many of those? How many of those? Yet orange
- 33:25Speaker 3: Miami uniforms? Do you think he owns?
- 33:28Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know, but everyone knows him.
- 33:31Speaker 1: I will say that.
- 33:31Speaker 2: It's like that there's an M and m's guy that
- 33:33Speaker 2: wears the M and m's jacket at the White Sox games.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Name's George Jacobs. Everyone knows him. So I don't know.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Maybe they I know George Jacobs Tess season tickets, So
- 33:40Speaker 2: all right. You can use the code Territory ten for
- 33:43Speaker 2: ten percent off your next set of MLB tickets at SEK.
- 33:46Speaker 2: That's ten percent off MLB tickets with promo code Territory ten.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Make sure you click the link in the description of
- 33:51Speaker 2: download the app and have the code automatically added to
- 33:54Speaker 2: your account so you can use it later. All right, Cards,
- 34:00Speaker 2: Cardinals Cardinals wore their dark blue caps yesterday.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Right, they're back. And I remember when I was a kid, KP.
- 34:07Speaker 2: I first saw these and we thought these were the
- 34:09Speaker 2: coolest hats ever because they were the traditional STL locked right,
- 34:13Speaker 2: and then you had they made them navy blue because
- 34:16Speaker 2: when the car and then when I played for the Cardinals,
- 34:18Speaker 2: they explained why they didn't want everyone to have red
- 34:20Speaker 2: caps on. So the Cardinals took the you know, the
- 34:24Speaker 2: initiative and said, hey, we're gonna wear navy blue caps.
- 34:26Speaker 2: And I thought they were awesome, but they they went
- 34:28Speaker 2: away from them for a while, but now they're back.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Fans said eighty percent they wanted them back. Are you
- 34:33Speaker 2: a fan of the Cardinals navy blue caps?
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 34:36Speaker 3: I am, And I'm also a fan that the organization
- 34:39Speaker 3: listened to the fan base. You know. I'm sure the
- 34:42Speaker 3: players had some input in it too, But I love
- 34:46Speaker 3: the navy blue hats. I think it's a really cool
- 34:48Speaker 3: look that they're able to roll out there when they're
- 34:51Speaker 3: on the road. And kudos to them for listening to
- 34:54Speaker 3: their fan base and potentially they're players on bringing it back.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Yeah, well it's back. Parently, it's back, So I love it.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I always I always love that when I played for
- 35:03Speaker 2: the Cardinals. Plus, it's cool when you're a player and
- 35:05Speaker 2: you get more than one hat come home with instead
- 35:07Speaker 2: of two one hat, you come home with two hats,
- 35:09Speaker 2: all sweat stained and dirty. By the way, they said this,
- 35:12Speaker 2: we want to put our fans at the center of
- 35:14Speaker 2: everything we do, and that starts with listening, said club president.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I'm not even going to try to say that name
- 35:19Speaker 2: so Cardinal fans won't be mad at me, because if
- 35:21Speaker 2: I don't think KP can say it either A nook. Yeah.
- 35:25Speaker 2: We we had heard anecdotally from fans of bringing back
- 35:28Speaker 2: the Navy Cap on the road was a change they
- 35:30Speaker 2: wanted to see, so we decided to ask them directly.
- 35:32Speaker 2: The response was overwhelmingly in favor of the Navy Cap
- 35:45Speaker 2: special edition today of in the Weeds, I mean in
- 35:48Speaker 2: the corn Why because it's Field of Dreams night tonight
- 35:51Speaker 2: in Dyersville, Dyersville, I believe it is, Iowa. It's a
- 35:55Speaker 2: cool venue if you haven't been. I don't know how
- 35:59Speaker 2: you're gonna get a I don't know how you're going
- 36:00Speaker 2: to get there, but it's a cool venue if you
- 36:02Speaker 2: figure out how to get there.
- 36:04Speaker 1: KP.
- 36:04Speaker 2: It's a really awesome experience. I was fortunate enough to
- 36:08Speaker 2: go to the first Field of Dreams. It was the
- 36:10Speaker 2: White Sox Yankees Tim Anderson walk off home run, one
- 36:13Speaker 2: of the coolest things I've ever got to see. Are
- 36:16Speaker 2: you excited for Field of Dreams and if they get
- 36:18Speaker 2: it in because last I saw it was raining and
- 36:19Speaker 2: there was a tarp on the field.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it's unfortunate that, you know, weather permitting. But I
- 36:26Speaker 3: love this for the game of baseball. Obviously a very
- 36:28Speaker 3: iconic movie, and I love when baseball decides to take
- 36:33Speaker 3: the game that we all love to kind of these
- 36:35Speaker 3: little remote areas, but also these very bigger than life venues.
- 36:39Speaker 1: You know.
- 36:40Speaker 3: I think we've all seen the movie and would it
- 36:43Speaker 3: be cool to have a baseball game there? And they
- 36:44Speaker 3: came up with this concept, and I vividly remember watching
- 36:48Speaker 3: it on TV, Tim Anderson hitting that walk off home
- 36:50Speaker 3: run into the corn. I was fortunate enough when I
- 36:53Speaker 3: was playing collegiate Summer Bowl I got to drive by,
- 36:57Speaker 3: or maybe I was in the minor leagues at the time,
- 36:59Speaker 3: but I've actually been to that venue before. They didn't
- 37:02Speaker 3: have the field set up the way they did it now,
- 37:04Speaker 3: but it's really cool for baseball. I wish I got
- 37:07Speaker 3: to take part in a game like that when I
- 37:09Speaker 3: was playing.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it was pretty awesome going there the first for
- 37:13Speaker 2: the first game for the for the original Field of
- 37:16Speaker 2: Dreams game, Yankees, Kevin Costerer came out of the corn,
- 37:19Speaker 2: The teams came out of the corn. They did an
- 37:20Speaker 2: unbelievable job Major League Baseball. I actually got to because
- 37:24Speaker 2: I was there for Fox. At the end of the game,
- 37:26Speaker 2: my son was with me. They ended the shot with
- 37:29Speaker 2: me playing catch with my son on the actual field
- 37:31Speaker 2: where the movie was filmed, not the MLB field, So
- 37:33Speaker 2: they flew a drone over we were playing catch. That's how
- 37:36Speaker 2: they kind of ended it. That was really awesome. Little
- 37:39Speaker 2: known fact I got in trouble at the game because
- 37:42Speaker 2: I was not there on any official capacity other than
- 37:45Speaker 2: is like a mascot for Fox, and I may or
- 37:49Speaker 2: may not have had a beer on the field during
- 37:51Speaker 2: batting practice, and MLB kind of frowned upon that a
- 37:54Speaker 2: little bit, even though the beer I was drinking was
- 37:56Speaker 2: a sponsor on the outfield fence KP. So you know,
- 38:01Speaker 2: I still got a little bit reprimanded, which is always
- 38:04Speaker 2: in my nature. So where do you think they should
- 38:06Speaker 2: do one of these next I thought they should have
- 38:08Speaker 2: been one and done at Field of Dreams, just because
- 38:10Speaker 2: the next year it wasn't as cool. Maybe if they did.
- 38:13Speaker 2: You know, they took some years off and now they're back.
- 38:16Speaker 2: They tried to the race Race Car one last year
- 38:18Speaker 2: in Bristol. The rain killed it. I was fortunate enough
- 38:20Speaker 2: to go to Fort Bragg and play in a game
- 38:23Speaker 2: that was incredible. It was just the Army, the Army
- 38:26Speaker 2: troops there and Fort Bragg. We went and did a
- 38:28Speaker 2: whole day with them.
- 38:28Speaker 1: It was awesome. So where do you think did you
- 38:30Speaker 1: First of all, did you get to play in any
- 38:31Speaker 1: of these games?
- 38:33Speaker 3: No, I never got a chance to play in any
- 38:35Speaker 3: of them. I love the idea of going to some
- 38:37Speaker 3: other military bases. I think that's a really cool thing for,
- 38:41Speaker 3: you know, the people serving us. The Fort Bragg thing
- 38:44Speaker 3: was a really cool spectacle to watch as well. You know,
- 38:49Speaker 3: I like the International Games as well too, so I
- 38:52Speaker 3: think playing a Major League Baseball game in the Dominican
- 38:56Speaker 3: would be a really cool venue. I got a chance
- 38:58Speaker 3: to play down there in winter ball, and I think
- 39:02Speaker 3: it would be a good showing for Major League Baseball.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I know they did a spring training game there, but
- 39:06Speaker 3: a professional Major League game during the regular seasons Dominican
- 39:11Speaker 3: it would be a pretty cool place to go.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, true, true.
- 39:17Speaker 2: You know, I've watched basketball games on the aircraft carriers
- 39:20Speaker 2: on the Navy ship, so that I got to go
- 39:22Speaker 2: to one of those, that's pretty awesome.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I couldn't do a baseball game anywhere like that.
- 39:26Speaker 2: But it's amazing to me that MLB can basically make
- 39:29Speaker 2: a field anywhere as long as they have enough time
- 39:32Speaker 2: right and I got I was fortunate to go to
- 39:33Speaker 2: the London Games a couple of years ago. It was
- 39:35Speaker 2: really awesome to see that and see the atmosphere overseas.
- 39:38Speaker 2: So I wish they would do more of these. I
- 39:40Speaker 2: know they're hard to pull off. It takes a lot
- 39:42Speaker 2: of planning, trust me, someone that works at Fox I
- 39:44Speaker 2: get to hear them all talk about the planning for
- 39:46Speaker 2: a lot of these games, and how much goes into
- 39:49Speaker 2: it is absolutely insane. But I would love, love, love
- 39:51Speaker 2: to see more of those. By the way, Brian or
- 39:53Speaker 2: Buckston reinstated from the tendail today.
- 39:56Speaker 1: And also what's interesting, KP.
- 39:57Speaker 2: I don't know if you know this or not, but
- 39:59Speaker 2: there's six teams that are blacked out in Iowa despite
- 40:02Speaker 2: the team not actually having a team. So there's six
- 40:05Speaker 2: teams that if you live in Iowa you can't watch,
- 40:09Speaker 2: and I believe the Twins are one of them.
- 40:11Speaker 3: So five years, yeah, I would imagine. I'm trying to
- 40:14Speaker 3: guess off the top of my head. I'm guessing it's
- 40:15Speaker 3: probably both Chicago teams Minnesota. I mean, are we going
- 40:21Speaker 3: as far as like Kansas City. I'm trying to think,
- 40:23Speaker 3: like geography, probably would be Saint Louis Kansas City, the
- 40:27Speaker 3: two shik So that's four teams, two Chicago's Saint Louis,
- 40:31Speaker 3: Kansas City. I'm just trying to think geography, Colorado. Maybe
- 40:35Speaker 3: Colorado Colorado would be a little bit of a stretch,
- 40:38Speaker 3: But yeah, it is wild that they would have some
- 40:40Speaker 3: blackout restrictions there. I felt like blackout restrictions were for
- 40:45Speaker 3: when you're actually trying to watch the game in your
- 40:48Speaker 3: home city and you're not drawing enough. They blocked the
- 40:51Speaker 3: game out on TV to force you to go to
- 40:54Speaker 3: the game. But if you live in Iowa, where the
- 40:56Speaker 3: hell are you going to go to the game. Why
- 40:57Speaker 3: are they blacking these games out?
- 41:00Speaker 2: Well, here you go, Cubs, White Sox, Cardinals, Royals, Twins, Brewers,
- 41:04Speaker 2: Milwaukee Sea was a little bit far too. But oh,
- 41:06Speaker 2: by the way, we forgot Rick would, which is an
- 41:07Speaker 2: awesome thing they did a few years ago with the Giants.
- 41:10Speaker 3: Have they done. Have they done at Williams Double Day
- 41:14Speaker 3: Stadium in Williams where they've done that one?
- 41:18Speaker 1: Uh, they've done? They do?
- 41:19Speaker 2: Yes, they do the Williamsport every year. They've done that
- 41:21Speaker 2: for the last year.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Four They used to they did.
- 41:26Speaker 2: They used to have an exhibition game there every year
- 41:28Speaker 2: where a team would fly in and play another team
- 41:30Speaker 2: and it was just a an next obviously an exhibition
- 41:33Speaker 2: game on an off day, but they kept they kind
- 41:35Speaker 2: of stopped that because teams value their off days too much.
- 41:39Speaker 2: The field is tiny, by the way. I don't know
- 41:40Speaker 2: if you've ever been there, but the field is Yeah.
- 41:42Speaker 3: I was just there. It is a little bit smaller
- 41:44Speaker 3: of a field. But it feels like you said, they're
- 41:47Speaker 3: able to kind of build these fields kind of out
- 41:49Speaker 3: of nowhere. I think Cooperstown would be a great place
- 41:52Speaker 3: to have these games. And yes, players do value their
- 41:56Speaker 3: off day more than you know most people would understand.
- 41:59Speaker 3: But Pete players also love these experiences, these once in
- 42:03Speaker 3: a lifetime opportunities to do something that you know, you
- 42:07Speaker 3: get to take your family to your parents potentially, but
- 42:10Speaker 3: like a memory that you'll have for the rest of
- 42:12Speaker 3: your life, that this one game feels bigger than any
- 42:14Speaker 3: other game that you play during the regular season because
- 42:17Speaker 3: it's so unique. So as much as players do want
- 42:20Speaker 3: those off days, I think a lot of players would
- 42:22Speaker 3: be in favor for more of these type of games
- 42:24Speaker 3: being implemented.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Yeah, let's not go full Savannah Bananas. I love the bananas,
- 42:29Speaker 2: but let's not go full Savannah bananas and playing college
- 42:31Speaker 2: football stadiums and NFL stadiums were one of the fences
- 42:34Speaker 2: is like one hundred and eighty feet to left or
- 42:36Speaker 2: to right, depending on how they set up the field.
- 42:38Speaker 2: I mean, let's try to keep it somewhattegrity.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Of the game because at the end of the day,
- 42:44Speaker 3: like we are still individual contractors were judged on our performance,
- 42:48Speaker 3: and you can't have a picture go out there with
- 42:50Speaker 3: and I know they did it. Where did they do it.
- 42:52Speaker 3: They did it in Why am I drawing a blank?
- 42:54Speaker 3: The coliseum. They played that game there and it was
- 42:57Speaker 3: a little RinkyDink because of configurations. You know, the I
- 43:01Speaker 3: used either left field or right field was really short.
- 43:03Speaker 3: And as cool as it is to go and play
- 43:05Speaker 3: in that iconic stadium, the La Coliseum, it still has
- 43:09Speaker 3: to be within kind of the boundaries of a normal
- 43:12Speaker 3: stadium because you know, if you're a pitcher and you're
- 43:15Speaker 3: giving up you know, ten ernies, that that sticks with you.
- 43:18Speaker 3: It doesn't have an asterisk and say, oh, you gave
- 43:20Speaker 3: those up in the coliseum, like those stay on the
- 43:22Speaker 3: back of your baseball card forever.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Asking pictures about going to Mexico City the last few
- 43:27Speaker 2: years and how much they enjoyed pitching in Mexico City,
- 43:30Speaker 2: it's it's I mean, we've listened. We've had games in Japan,
- 43:33Speaker 2: We've had games in Australia, We've had games in Korea. Right,
- 43:35Speaker 2: We've had games in Mexico, Puerto Rico. I got to
- 43:38Speaker 2: play in Puerto Rico. They've they've done this in London,
- 43:41Speaker 2: which was really cool. So I'm all for it. It
- 43:43Speaker 2: breaks up the monotony of the season. They played a
- 43:45Speaker 2: cricket ground in Australia, so listen. I'm all for it.
- 43:48Speaker 2: As a player, it broke up the monotony. You had
- 43:50Speaker 2: something to look forward to. You're like, man, we get
- 43:52Speaker 2: to go to four pragg This is gonna be awesome
- 43:54Speaker 2: in the middle of the season, So I think it's great.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Tim Kirchin had in his podcast on the Foultairy Network,
- 44:00Speaker 2: is this a great game?
- 44:01Speaker 1: Or what?
- 44:02Speaker 2: Had a segment debating have a catch, which is what
- 44:05Speaker 2: they say in Field of Dreams, or play catch? And
- 44:08Speaker 2: now it's funny. I don't know how you say it,
- 44:11Speaker 2: but when I came up with the Twins, we were
- 44:12Speaker 2: told to call it catch play, not play catch because
- 44:15Speaker 2: you're not playing, so you're having a catch play, right,
- 44:18Speaker 2: And now most guys I hear say it say it
- 44:20Speaker 2: catch play, especially in the Big League. So what do
- 44:22Speaker 2: you call playing catch or catch playing?
- 44:25Speaker 3: I would say at the highest level, you do refer
- 44:27Speaker 3: to it as as catch play. But I would say,
- 44:30Speaker 3: like with my son who's only six, you know, I'm
- 44:33Speaker 3: probably gonna say, hey, you want to play catch? You know,
- 44:36Speaker 3: I know, maybe I know grammatically maybe that's not correct,
- 44:40Speaker 3: but I'm talking to a six year old. So if
- 44:42Speaker 3: I say you want to have a catch, he would
- 44:44Speaker 3: be like catch what? But if I say, hey, let's
- 44:46Speaker 3: go play catch, he knows we're either you know, getting
- 44:49Speaker 3: our gloves out or playing baseball, or we might throw
- 44:51Speaker 3: the football around. I don't know what about you.
- 44:54Speaker 2: I call it catch play and sometimes with my son,
- 44:57Speaker 2: I'd call it fetch too. I'd be like, let's go
- 44:59Speaker 2: play fetch because you would throw it away and I'd
- 45:01Speaker 2: have to go chase it. So, you know, but your
- 45:03Speaker 2: kids thought at that age jail where he's still six
- 45:05Speaker 2: is a little bit young, and they still were trying
- 45:07Speaker 2: to But when he gets about eight and they try
- 45:08Speaker 2: to impress you with how hard they can throw, and
- 45:10Speaker 2: he throws it over your head and he throws a
- 45:11Speaker 2: shinburger at you, you'll see KP. Then you'll start calling
- 45:14Speaker 2: you fetch ey. I'd say often, let's go play vetch,
- 45:17Speaker 2: let's have a fetch. I'll go fetch the ball.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Yeah, we're over poured back in a couple of years.
- 45:22Speaker 3: If I'm going to say have a fetch or play.
- 45:25Speaker 5: Fetch, let's talk FABLETICX shall we? They have apparel for
- 45:32Speaker 5: every season. We're wearing it as we talk about it.
- 45:35Speaker 5: It's soft, it's comfortable. I wear it on the show
- 45:37Speaker 5: sometimes on FT. What else do you love about it?
- 45:39Speaker 4: Crats?
- 45:40Speaker 6: Well, I have it on right now, And I'm all
- 45:43Speaker 6: about quality. But you know what, you know how good
- 45:46Speaker 6: your clothes are when you're a parent and your kids
- 45:49Speaker 6: keep stealing all of it. My daughter stole the sweatshirt,
- 45:53Speaker 6: my son sole one of my t shirts. So it's
- 45:55Speaker 6: got to be nice looking.
- 45:57Speaker 5: And if it gets a little bit chillier then it's
- 46:00Speaker 5: layering season and they've got layers for the fall. Shop

- 46:29Speaker 2: Mark Bowman of MLB dot com. So it looks like
- 46:32Speaker 2: Tyler Mawley saw that posting for a Game two starter,
- 46:34Speaker 2: he allowed one run over six inning signing has allowed
- 46:36Speaker 2: just one run while totaling sixteen strikeouts over twelve innings
- 46:40Speaker 2: since the Braves acquired him from the Giants. Is this
- 46:43Speaker 2: just a case of change of scenery getting out of
- 46:45Speaker 2: a losing team or is there something else going on
- 46:48Speaker 2: here with mister Malley.
- 46:49Speaker 3: No, I think it's a combination of that. I mean,
- 46:52Speaker 3: look at his numbers from last year in Texas. He
- 46:54Speaker 3: was unbelievable when he was on the mound and healthy.
- 46:57Speaker 3: And then I don't want to rub salt in the
- 46:59Speaker 3: wounds of the New York Mets, but maybe there's a
- 47:03Speaker 3: little bit of that Jeremy Heffner effect, because what he's
- 47:06Speaker 3: done with some of those guys in Atlanta has been
- 47:09Speaker 3: pretty amazing. And you know, I know it's only been
- 47:12Speaker 3: two starts, but maybe just a little simple conversation that
- 47:15Speaker 3: Jeremy Hefner's had with him kind of regaining that form
- 47:18Speaker 3: he had last year. All factor in.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Jeremy, Wait, don't don't say that.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Yeah, you're trying to really make Mets fans mad now
- 47:26Speaker 2: because they thought, oh, pitching, coaches don't matter. But the
- 47:29Speaker 2: Braves pitching has gone better, the Mets pitching has stayed
- 47:32Speaker 2: the same. We'll we'll just we'll just go with that.
- 47:35Speaker 2: But Maley's been really good. I mean, is he the
- 47:37Speaker 2: Game two starter if the playoffs started right now for
- 47:39Speaker 2: the Braves?
- 47:41Speaker 3: Well, I think right now, if it starts right now. Yes,
- 47:43Speaker 3: but I think you have some guys you're hoping to
- 47:45Speaker 3: come back Schwallenbach, aj Smith, Shaver. I think you could
- 47:49Speaker 3: see those guys potentially slotted ahead of Malley, But you know,
- 47:54Speaker 3: you got to go with who's healthy right now, and
- 47:56Speaker 3: he's pitching well. But I think he's just added some
- 47:59Speaker 3: depth to their roadtion. Obviously, you don't know the status
- 48:02Speaker 3: of Spencer Schrider coming back. You don't know when Ronaldo
- 48:06Speaker 3: Lopez is coming back. You know, Bryce Elders fell off,
- 48:10Speaker 3: fell off a little bit. But you know, I think
- 48:14Speaker 3: as of right now, who's healthy. I mean, we got
- 48:17Speaker 3: to give Martine Pez a lot of credit to I
- 48:19Speaker 3: was actually out there for spring training doing Vold Territory
- 48:23Speaker 3: and I ran into him, and you know, he he
- 48:26Speaker 3: was on a non roster invite. You know, I talked
- 48:29Speaker 3: to him a little bit, asked him how he felt physically,
- 48:32Speaker 3: you know, his opportunity with the Atlanta Braves, and he said,
- 48:34Speaker 3: I feel healthy, I feel good. I love my stuff
- 48:37Speaker 3: right now. And look at those numbers right now, it's
- 48:40Speaker 3: pretty impressive. You know, the game of baseball, you get
- 48:43Speaker 3: written off really quickly, you know, after a bad season
- 48:47Speaker 3: or maybe a couple of bad seasons, but our team
- 48:49Speaker 3: Perez has been a very serviceable starting pitcher in this
- 48:53Speaker 3: game for a long time.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Dave Robert said, Freddy Freeman took a took the brunt
- 49:00Speaker 2: of the fall on his left hand shoulder. He's banged up,
- 49:03Speaker 2: but X rays were nominated, framing his day to day
- 49:05Speaker 2: for now. He was scheduled for an off day on Friday.
- 49:08Speaker 2: We really dodged the bullets, Robert said. It's because Freddy's
- 49:11Speaker 2: Canadian and he never played hockey in his life, because
- 49:14Speaker 2: he's born in La or in Orange County. We love you, Freddy.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Get well soon. That was a nasty fall, KP. I
- 49:19Speaker 2: don't know if you ever saw it, but he just
- 49:22Speaker 2: like kind of ran over there and just kind of
- 49:25Speaker 2: fell over into the dugout and nobody.
- 49:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it was hell. It was an interesting play. I mean,
- 49:31Speaker 3: I saw the kind of script get sent to us
- 49:34Speaker 3: this morning and then I saw this thing about Freddy,
- 49:37Speaker 3: so I said, I got to go see it, and
- 49:40Speaker 3: it was weird. It was a you know, infield fly ball.
- 49:43Speaker 3: It was kind of like he was moving over there
- 49:45Speaker 3: very lazily because the ball was hanging in the air,
- 49:49Speaker 3: and it just looked like he potentially lost feel for
- 49:52Speaker 3: I think he was assuming the rail that dougout was
- 49:54Speaker 3: gonna be there. He lost feel for where he was at,
- 49:56Speaker 3: and he just went down the stairs like he was
- 49:58Speaker 3: hoping a rail was going to cut Jim. Pretty scary play,
- 50:01Speaker 3: though it was.
- 50:03Speaker 2: By the way, it's a rundown. It's not a script
- 50:05Speaker 2: because this show is very unscripted. If you ever want
- 50:07Speaker 2: to start it, just following that's my phone.
- 50:10Speaker 3: I'm new to the industry. The rundown. The rundown, not
- 50:12Speaker 3: the script.
- 50:13Speaker 2: How many times producer Lady will put knives at us
- 50:16Speaker 2: for not following what she wants us to say, trust me,
- 50:19Speaker 2: she she is. She can be very mean when she
- 50:22Speaker 2: needs to be, and she doesn't.
- 50:23Speaker 1: She doesn't.
- 50:24Speaker 2: She's very passive aggressive, except she just puts a knife
- 50:26Speaker 2: when you've done something wrong. So when you start getting knives,
- 50:30Speaker 2: KP and the slack, that's when you know that you
- 50:31Speaker 2: have officially I'm afraid.
- 50:33Speaker 3: I'm afraid to check my phone right now because I
- 50:35Speaker 3: called it the script, but really it's a rundown. It
- 50:37Speaker 3: is very unscripted. That's why I love this show.
- 50:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it is unscripted, and especially when it's players only,
- 50:43Speaker 2: and there's no Scott.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Uh.
- 50:45Speaker 2: It's very it gets a little sometimes off the rails,
- 50:47Speaker 2: but we like it. We like we like sometimes being
- 50:50Speaker 2: off the rails. We can talk about more things than
- 50:52Speaker 2: just you know, the fip bore of certain players. Yeah,
- 51:07Speaker 2: all right, we're slapping handser kp. The Tigers, half game
- 51:10Speaker 2: out of the Wildcard hanging in there in the al
- 51:14Speaker 2: Central have placed Riley Green on the aisle with the
- 51:16Speaker 2: right hamstring string. They've recalled Corey Jokes designated Troy Watson
- 51:20Speaker 2: for assignment. How does this affect the Tigers in the
- 51:22Speaker 2: Wildcard and the division race?
- 51:24Speaker 3: Honestly, oh, it's a huge blow. I mean, obviously getting
- 51:28Speaker 3: rid of Trek School was a big blow. As dominant
- 51:32Speaker 3: as Trek School is, he plays once every five days.
- 51:34Speaker 3: This is a guy who's out there every single day,
- 51:37Speaker 3: you know, arguably their best offensive player. And baseball's been
- 51:41Speaker 3: really weird this year. There's been a lot of really
- 51:43Speaker 3: good teams where teams that we thought were really good
- 51:46Speaker 3: underperforming this year. And Detroit is near the top of
- 51:48Speaker 3: that list. But they've been playing their best baseball at
- 51:51Speaker 3: a time when it really matters, and losing a guy
- 51:54Speaker 3: like Riley Green as just really awful timing for them.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Listen, the Tigers are the best team in base fall.
- 52:00Speaker 2: I love the Tigers. They are not going to lose
- 52:01Speaker 2: a game the rest of the year with Riley Green,
- 52:04Speaker 2: Trek School was a great trade. He is not a
- 52:06Speaker 2: very good pitcher, so Casey May is also stink so
- 52:10Speaker 2: they are so much better off without them. I love
- 52:13Speaker 2: the Tigers. I absolutely love the Tigers. I hope they
- 52:15Speaker 2: win the World Series this year. They might not lose
- 52:17Speaker 2: a game the rest of the way. That was for
- 52:20Speaker 2: you Tiger fans. You guys love me In case you didn't,
- 52:22Speaker 2: o KP. I've been getting absolutely destroyed on Twitter from
- 52:25Speaker 2: Tiger fans and on Instagram and all social media. When
- 52:28Speaker 2: I said that it would be not good for the game,
- 52:31Speaker 2: and I just use the Tigers an example as a
- 52:33Speaker 2: team that sold, but then they still have a chance
- 52:36Speaker 2: to make the postseason. So anyways, I didn't it's a
- 52:39Speaker 2: bad precedent, should I use the wrong words. They are
- 52:41Speaker 2: absolutely annihilating me anyways, So that's why I hope the
- 52:44Speaker 2: Tigers win everything. I hope they win the World Series
- 52:46Speaker 2: and then all the Tiger fans can be happy.
- 52:48Speaker 1: So we love you.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Tiger fans, we love you Tiger Territory. Yeah, how it
- 52:53Speaker 2: affects the Tigers in the wildcard. I don't know this
- 52:55Speaker 2: this this has been crazy. By the way, two things
- 52:57Speaker 2: before we go, the tarp is off in Dyersville. I
- 53:00Speaker 2: was so they are looking to play. It was on earlier,
- 53:02Speaker 2: it is off now, so hopefully that clears things up.
- 53:04Speaker 2: And second of all, Davis Martin apparently threw two pitches
- 53:07Speaker 2: close to south Stewart. He said a f you, that's
- 53:10Speaker 2: twice and they ejected Davis Martin and the Reds are.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Beating the White Sox.
- 53:15Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't know they ever had a guy
- 53:17Speaker 2: throw your head twice and then you tell them that
- 53:19Speaker 2: and they heave hold the picture.
- 53:22Speaker 3: No, I mean this is news to me. I mean
- 53:25Speaker 3: I saw it in there. I didn't know all the
- 53:26Speaker 3: context of it. But they threw them out after south
- 53:30Speaker 3: Stewart like called them at mother effort. It wasn't like, hey,
- 53:35Speaker 3: you threw one at his head, you did another one. Hey,
- 53:37Speaker 3: automatic ejection and then wordswork Shane like south Stewart influenced
- 53:41Speaker 3: the umpire to throw them out.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Apparently, all right, we're back, We're back. I don't know
- 53:47Speaker 2: what we're talking about. Oh, Phillies, Phillies, Phillies, Phillies, Phillies.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Phillies are in Iowa. They're playing in the Field of dreams?
- 53:53Speaker 2: Is the wildcard to dream for them?
- 53:54Speaker 1: KP? Have they?
- 53:55Speaker 2: Did they hit their stride too early? You tie Arizona
- 54:00Speaker 2: for the third wild card? Will the Phillies get into
- 54:02Speaker 2: the postseason? The division's kind of gone now?
- 54:06Speaker 3: No, I think the division's gone. But did they hit
- 54:08Speaker 3: their stride too early? This was another team underperformed early
- 54:14Speaker 3: in the season, made a managerial change, Donnie Baseball comes in,
- 54:17Speaker 3: and then they hit kind of this rocket ship to
- 54:20Speaker 3: a point where I thought the Phillies would overtake the
- 54:22Speaker 3: Atlanta Braves in the division. They've kind of fallen off
- 54:26Speaker 3: since they're losing six of eight series since the All
- 54:29Speaker 3: Star Break, But I do believe there's enough time for
- 54:32Speaker 3: them to ride that roller coaster back up. You know,
- 54:36Speaker 3: the Phillies are just an interesting team to be. It's
- 54:38Speaker 3: one of those teams that's had this core for a
- 54:40Speaker 3: long time. You know, they they we thought they were
- 54:43Speaker 3: going to get to the World Series. They lose to
- 54:45Speaker 3: the Diamondbacks in that series, and you've just been waiting
- 54:48Speaker 3: for this team. They have all the makings of a
- 54:50Speaker 3: team that should, you know, be a favorite to win
- 54:54Speaker 3: the World Series. Look at that starting rotation, look at
- 54:56Speaker 3: the lineup, look at the addition they made with Luisa rise.
- 54:58Speaker 3: But I do feel like they have enough time to
- 55:02Speaker 3: get back into this wildcard race.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Okay, that's their exca They're not.
- 55:08Speaker 2: They're right now. They're tied for the last one, so
- 55:10Speaker 2: they don't have to get back into it. They just
- 55:11Speaker 2: have to survive until the end of the year. I
- 55:13Speaker 2: they can survive it.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think Diamondbacks are Diamondbacks are playing better.
- 55:16Speaker 3: The Padres got really hot. Baseball's funny, man Like, they
- 55:21Speaker 3: did a really good job getting themselves relevant because they
- 55:23Speaker 3: got off to such a bad start. Then they've kind
- 55:25Speaker 3: of plateaued. They're going downhill a little bit. This is
- 55:27Speaker 3: the team that can get hot with the best of them.
- 55:29Speaker 3: And maybe this is an early September through the middle
- 55:31Speaker 3: of September and they just kind of run away with it.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Maybe they separate themselves from you know, a team like
- 55:37Speaker 3: San Diego and Arizona, or maybe they don't.
- 55:40Speaker 1: We'll see, No, maybe they don't. We'll never know.
- 55:42Speaker 2: We'll well, uh, We'll see what happens with the Phillies,
- 55:45Speaker 2: but it's gonna it's gonna be awesome. And more teams
- 55:47Speaker 2: evolve the better, even if they're mediocre. At least there's
- 55:50Speaker 2: people talking about baseball. By the way, is that to
- 55:51Speaker 2: touch them all?
- 55:52Speaker 1: Joe hat? You have one?
- 55:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I do. I got to touch them Joe from
- 55:56Speaker 3: his golf event. You know, I put it on. I'm
- 55:59Speaker 3: getting a lot of slack here that I look like
- 56:01Speaker 3: the Quaker oats guy. You know what, in all white.
- 56:03Speaker 3: It's not the best look, but you know what, I
- 56:06Speaker 3: was busy this morning. This is what I had on.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Just a just a word for the why since you
- 56:11Speaker 2: said you're new on television, you don't wear white on TV.
- 56:13Speaker 1: It's a bad It just doesn't.
- 56:14Speaker 2: It doesn't help the people behind the scenes, especially a
- 56:16Speaker 2: white shirt and a white hat.
- 56:19Speaker 3: All right, good to know, good to.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Know, just just for the future.
- 56:22Speaker 2: But by the way, Joe invites me to his tournament
- 56:24Speaker 2: every year, and I've never gone. I'm gonna have to
- 56:26Speaker 2: go at some point. And uh, if you haven't had
- 56:29Speaker 2: him and his brother Fred's pecan pie. It's one of
- 56:31Speaker 2: the best in the world. So next time, make sure
- 56:34Speaker 2: you tell him and Fred you want to peak on
- 56:35Speaker 2: pie from me, and you'll pay for it, not me,
- 56:37Speaker 2: because I'm tired of handing the money for a pie
- 56:39Speaker 2: that I don't eat all of it.
- 56:41Speaker 1: All Right, I will, all right, deal, deal, all right.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Everyone, have a good one, a good night watching baseball,
- 56:47Speaker 2: and we will see you all tomorrow.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Kevin, see you next week.
