Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:00Speaker 2: It is Vertical Center Ted Cruz week in review. And
- 0:03Speaker 2: here are some of the big stories that you may
- 0:05Speaker 2: have missed that we talked about this week. First up,
- 0:08Speaker 2: in a shocking move, even for Tucker Carlson, he has
- 0:11Speaker 2: now come out and endorsed El-Sayed. Why did he do it?
- 0:14Speaker 2: We break it down for you. Up next, Doge has
- 0:17Speaker 2: ended up dismantling USAID. Why do they do it and
- 0:21Speaker 2: what does it mean for you as a taxpayer? It's
- 0:23Speaker 2: pretty incredible. We'll have that for you as well. And finally,
- 0:26Speaker 2: Mandani goes all in to attack Israel on the third
- 0:30Speaker 2: anniversary of the horrific October 7th attacks. What did he
- 0:34Speaker 2: say about Israel? He said they're committing genocide, and he
- 0:37Speaker 2: doubled down on it. We'll break that down as well.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It's the Weekend Review, and it starts right now. I
- 0:42Speaker 2: think it's an important moment here that we should take
- 0:44Speaker 2: a moment and talk about it, because if you think
- 0:47Speaker 2: that Tucker hasn't gone hardcore crazy, go back to the
- 0:51Speaker 2: point you just made, Senator, which is he has now
- 0:53Speaker 2: come out and endorsed al-Sadr to be elected over a Republican.
- 0:58Speaker 1: He has indeed. He wants an Islamist president. and a
- 1:01Speaker 1: communist to represent the state of Michigan and a Democrat
- 1:06Speaker 1: in the United States Senate. But by the way, Tucker,
- 1:09Speaker 1: this whole interview is truly bizarre. At another point, Tucker
- 1:14Speaker 1: is complaining that it was terrible that the United Kingdom
- 1:18Speaker 1: never apologized to the Nazis. And I want you to
- 1:22Speaker 1: listen to this exchange because apparently He is seeking retribution
- 1:27Speaker 1: on behalf of the Nazis that he felt were not
- 1:30Speaker 1: treated fairly by the allies who won World War II. Here,
- 1:34Speaker 1: give a listen.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Now, the British government did that in the Second World
- 1:37Speaker 3: War immediately.
- 1:38Speaker 4: It did it in the Second World War. I knew
- 1:39Speaker 4: a wonderful man, amazing man. Now, I'd gathered his fathers,
- 1:45Speaker 4: who was rounded up in 1939 when water was declared,
- 1:50Speaker 4: was put in an enemy aliens camp and in Shropshire.
- 1:55Speaker 4: and he was German, Jewish, and all Germans were lined up.
- 2:00Speaker 4: He was a fighting age. The day he left the camp,
- 2:02Speaker 4: he joined the British Army, and he ended the war
- 2:05Speaker 4: as a brigadier.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Amazing.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, because he sounds like a very forgiving man.
- 2:08Speaker 4: He was a wonderful man.
- 2:09Speaker 1: He sounds it.
- 2:11Speaker 3: But I'm not talking about people who are rounded up
- 2:13Speaker 3: as potential foreign nationals.
- 2:15Speaker 4: We can't round up people for their expression of opinions,
- 2:17Speaker 4: and people must be free to oppose.
- 2:19Speaker 3: But the British government has never apologized for violating its
- 2:23Speaker 3: own ancient principles by rounding up not simply members of
- 2:26Speaker 3: the opposition party, but their families.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 3: And I'm talking about the Mosleys, but also everyone who
- 2:31Speaker 3: worked with the Mosleys, the whole leadership, and their wives, right?
- 2:34Speaker 3: And no one's ever apologized for that.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Well, look, Tucker is all in on defending the Nazis
- 2:40Speaker 1: against the West. You know, the person he's talking about
- 2:43Speaker 1: there is Oswald Mosley. Oswald Mosley led the British Union
- 2:49Speaker 1: of fascists. Now, who was Mosley? He married in 1936
- 2:54Speaker 1: at Joseph Goebel's home in Berlin. You know who was
- 2:59Speaker 1: a guest at his wedding? Adolf Hitler.
- 3:01Speaker 2: There you go.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Um, Carlston simply calls them members of the opposition party.
- 3:08Speaker 1: That would be the Nazis. That would be Goebbels and Hitler. Now,
- 3:13Speaker 1: to be clear, the British Union of Fascists never won
- 3:16Speaker 1: even a single seat in Parliament. They weren't the opposition party.
- 3:19Speaker 1: They weren't a party who was elected anywhere. At the
- 3:23Speaker 1: same time that Tucker is vigorously defending our enemies and
- 3:30Speaker 1: attacking America and attacking the United Kingdom, attacking our friends,
- 3:34Speaker 1: he is also just brazenly lying. So he claims that
- 3:39Speaker 1: the United Kingdom persecutes people for speech, but Russia never
- 3:43Speaker 1: does that. And I want you to listen to this
- 3:45Speaker 1: exchange because, again, facts never intrude into Tucker world.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I just don't understand, given what you've already just conceded,
- 3:54Speaker 3: that the government of the United Kingdom is punishing and
- 4:00Speaker 3: prohibiting people and ideas it doesn't like. Russia is not
- 4:05Speaker 3: doing that. So how is... What? To you.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You can't say.
- 4:09Speaker 4: But in Russia, it's doing it in spades. It's beating
- 4:12Speaker 4: people up.
- 4:12Speaker 1: It's arresting them. It's murdering them.
- 4:13Speaker 4: In your country?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Well, it's... No, your citizens are under.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Russia has poisoned people in this country. So there he goes. Yet,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you know, Tucker is claiming Russia does not persecute people
- 4:25Speaker 1: for saying things they don't like. Has he never heard
- 4:28Speaker 1: of a gulag? Has he never read the gulag archipelago?
- 4:30Speaker 1: I'm sure he hasn't. Has he not seen... the murders
- 4:35Speaker 1: that Russia carries out, the poisonings that Russia carries out. Now,
- 4:40Speaker 1: to be fair, he has a legitimate criticism that the
- 4:42Speaker 1: Brits have been violating free speech. In this podcast, we
- 4:46Speaker 1: have spent a lot of time talking about how the
- 4:48Speaker 1: United Kingdom has run away from their free speech traditions.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I think that's a real failing for our British friends.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I hope they get back to actually defending free speech.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But There is no comparison between the Brits and the Russians.
- 5:06Speaker 1: The Russians murder people who say things they don't like.
- 5:10Speaker 1: The Brits don't do that. They do send a Bobby
- 5:13Speaker 1: to arrest you. And you know what happens when someone
- 5:16Speaker 1: sends a Bobby to arrest you. It's an unarmed Bobby
- 5:20Speaker 1: that's wearing a little round hat. And if they see
- 5:22Speaker 1: a crime.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Don't worry, he's got his nightstick, so you should be fine.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And the unarmed Bobby, if they see a crime happening,
- 5:29Speaker 1: they will rush up to you and say... I say stop!
- 5:34Speaker 1: And if you don't stop, I shall yell stop again! Yeah, louder! Yeah, exactly. That, sadly,
- 5:43Speaker 1: are the bobbies, but it is true that they might
- 5:45Speaker 1: arrest you for free speech in the United Kingdom. I
- 5:48Speaker 1: hope they get back to their long tradition of free speech.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But the Brits do not have gulags. They do not
- 5:55Speaker 1: have Siberia. They do not engage in poisoning and murdering
- 5:59Speaker 1: their political opponents. And there's one of two options. Either
- 6:04Speaker 1: Tucker is so willfully blind that he has no idea,
- 6:07Speaker 1: that he doesn't know Russia does that. He also claimed
- 6:09Speaker 1: he didn't know that the Ayatollah is trying to murder
- 6:11Speaker 1: Donald Trump. I assume when it comes to Hitler and
- 6:15Speaker 1: Goebbels and all the people he's defending, he doesn't know
- 6:17Speaker 1: about the concentration camps and the Holocaust. He either doesn't know.
- 6:22Speaker 1: in which case he's willfully ignorant and blind, or even worse,
- 6:26Speaker 1: he does know, which I think is likely the case,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and he just doesn't care. He's just willing to lie
- 6:32Speaker 1: because he has a propaganda mission. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 6:51Speaker 1: Hugo Chavez, another communist from Venezuela, to build up Mondami,
- 6:55Speaker 1: to build up Abdul Al-Sayed, to build up Sharia law,
- 6:58Speaker 1: to build up the Ayatollah, and to repeatedly and explicitly
- 7:02Speaker 1: praise Nazis, including Adolf Hitler. What is he trying to
- 7:06Speaker 1: accomplish and why is he doing it? It is profoundly
- 7:11Speaker 1: dangerous and you don't have to take my word for
- 7:15Speaker 1: it because you can listen in his own words as
- 7:17Speaker 1: we played today.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 7:23Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now on to story number two.
- 7:28Speaker 2: All right, Senator, I want to move to the second
- 7:30Speaker 2: story that we mentioned earlier. And I got to tell you,
- 7:32Speaker 2: the news coming out of USAID and how Elon Musk
- 7:37Speaker 2: was able to have a major impact on the left's
- 7:40Speaker 2: chokehold in Latin America. This story is really interesting. And
- 7:44Speaker 2: it's one that shows you if you're committed to a cause,
- 7:47Speaker 2: you can have a really big impact if you focus
- 7:50Speaker 2: on the facts.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Well.
- 7:54Speaker 1: This is a story I want everyone listening to really
- 7:56Speaker 1: understand because it is profound and it is completely unreported
- 8:01Speaker 1: in the press. As you know, when President Trump came
- 8:05Speaker 1: in for the second term, he appointed Elon Musk as
- 8:07Speaker 1: the head of Doge. One of the first things Elon
- 8:10Speaker 1: Musk did is essentially zeroed out USAID. So the billions
- 8:14Speaker 1: of dollars that had been flowing out in foreign aid
- 8:16Speaker 1: just stopped. And the left, the Democrats, the press, they
- 8:21Speaker 1: all screamed blue murder. They described it as chicken little.
- 8:24Speaker 1: The sky is falling. The world is ending. People are dying.
- 8:27Speaker 1: It is horrible. Well, they nonetheless succeeded in cutting the
- 8:31Speaker 1: vast majority of that money. Here is an interesting consequence
- 8:36Speaker 1: of this that very few people are noting. Since the
- 8:40Speaker 1: USAID money stopped flowing, leftists... communists, America-hating zealots, have stopped
- 8:50Speaker 1: winning elections in Latin America. During Joe Biden, while the
- 8:55Speaker 1: USAID money was flowing, we saw leftists and communists and
- 8:59Speaker 1: people who hate America winning election after election after election
- 9:03Speaker 1: and implementing socialism and Marxism throughout Latin America. That has
- 9:08Speaker 1: ground to a halt. And the obvious inference is that USAID,
- 9:14Speaker 1: the federal taxpayers, were flowing money, millions if not billions
- 9:18Speaker 1: of dollars, to Marxists who hate America, to elect communists
- 9:23Speaker 1: that not only hurt Latin American countries, but fight against
- 9:26Speaker 1: the United States. I want to read to you a
- 9:29Speaker 1: very interesting tweet from Breville Le Pogam. Now, I don't
- 9:34Speaker 1: know Breville Le Pogam. He is a French entrepreneur, apparently
- 9:38Speaker 1: from an AI company, but he sent a tweet that
- 9:41Speaker 1: I read on X, and it was striking, and it really,
- 9:45Speaker 1: it made this point in a way that was powerful.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I want to read it to you. It's a long tweet,
- 9:49Speaker 1: but it has a lot of substance to it. In
- 9:52Speaker 1: 50 years, history books will say that Elon Musk won
- 9:56Speaker 1: a war that no one even knew we were losing.
- 10:01Speaker 1: A war that began 100 years ago in an Italian
- 10:06Speaker 1: prison cell. In 1926, Mussolini had a 35-year-old Sardinian intellectual arrested.
- 10:13Speaker 1: At the trial, the prosecutor reportedly said, Quote, we must
- 10:17Speaker 1: stop this brain from working for 20 years. His name
- 10:22Speaker 1: was Antonio Gramsci. His brain never stopped working. In prison,
- 10:29Speaker 1: he filled thousands of pages that became one of the
- 10:32Speaker 1: most influential political texts of the 20th century. I think
- 10:36Speaker 1: we're living through the moment when the theory is collapsing.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Let me explain. Gramsci asked a simple question. Why did
- 10:45Speaker 1: the Communist Revolution succeed in Russia, but fail everywhere in
- 10:49Speaker 1: the West? His answer, in the West, power isn't just
- 10:54Speaker 1: held by the state, the police, and the army. It's
- 10:58Speaker 1: held by culture. But what people find normal, obvious, common sense,
- 11:04Speaker 1: he called it cultural hegemony. So, to seize power, you
- 11:09Speaker 1: don't first take the palace. You first take the mines.
- 11:14Speaker 1: The schools, the universities, the newspapers, the theater, publishing, the courts.
- 11:21Speaker 1: That's the war of position. A slow conquest, institution by institution.
- 11:28Speaker 1: When the culture is flipped, the politics follows on its own.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Forty years later, the German activist Rudi Deutschke would turn
- 11:38Speaker 1: it into a slogan. The Long March Against through the institutions.
- 11:45Speaker 1: For decades, we've lived with a puzzle that no one
- 11:48Speaker 1: could really explain. Why are almost all artists on the left?
- 11:54Speaker 1: The actors, the singers, the teachers, the journalists, a good
- 11:56Speaker 1: chunk of the judiciary. Why could a country vote right
- 12:00Speaker 1: election after election and still see its culture speaking with
- 12:03Speaker 1: one voice? We were told it's because educated people are
- 12:08Speaker 1: on the left. I think the answer is simpler. Gramsci
- 12:13Speaker 1: had written the recipe and it was applied. When you
- 12:16Speaker 1: control who gets the grant, the job, the good review,
- 12:22Speaker 1: the prize, the invitation on the set, you control what becomes, quote,
- 12:28Speaker 1: the culture. The same puzzle existed on a global scale.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Why did so many developing countries, especially in Latin America,
- 12:38Speaker 1: keep voting again and again for socialists or radical left governments. Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua,
- 12:47Speaker 1: the Argentina of the Kirchners, Petro's Colombia. The economy was collapsing.
- 12:54Speaker 1: The cartels were thriving. Chaos was setting in. And yet
- 12:59Speaker 1: the same vote kept coming back. My conviction. Poverty wasn't
- 13:05Speaker 1: an accident of the system. It was an electorate. And
- 13:09Speaker 1: around it, there was a whole ecosystem of NGOs. Quote,
- 13:14Speaker 1: independent media and quote, civil society programs funded largely by
- 13:20Speaker 1: Western money. Then in early 2025, something happened that no
- 13:25Speaker 1: one had ever dared to do. Elon and Doge opened
- 13:29Speaker 1: up USAID's books. An agency that had been virtually untouchable
- 13:34Speaker 1: since 1961. Tens of billions of dollars a year. The
- 13:39Speaker 1: vast majority of programs were cut, and the agency was
- 13:42Speaker 1: absorbed into the State Department. The faucet was turned off.
- 13:47Speaker 1: And look what has happened since. Bolivia. MAS loses power
- 13:55Speaker 1: after nearly 20 years. Ecuador. Noboa re-elected. Honduras. The right
- 14:04Speaker 1: takes back the country. Chile. CAST elected. Argentina. Malay wins
- 14:12Speaker 1: the midterm elections by a landslide. And two days ago, Brazil.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Jair Bolsonaro is ineligible, sentenced to 27 years in prison.
- 14:24Speaker 1: The left thought they'd close the chapter. Lula, 80 years old,
- 14:29Speaker 1: was running for a fourth term against a country that
- 14:32Speaker 1: was said to be in the bag. On Sunday, his
- 14:37Speaker 1: son Flavio came in first in the first round, over 47%
- 14:43Speaker 1: against nearly 45% for Lula. Lula himself acknowledged a quote,
- 14:49Speaker 1: unexpected result. The largest country in Latin America is one
- 14:54Speaker 1: runoff away from flipping. The biggest rightward turn on the
- 14:59Speaker 1: continent in decades. Coincidence? I don't think so. When the
- 15:05Speaker 1: funding dries up, the narrative is, loses its megaphones. There's
- 15:11Speaker 1: one last real stronghold left, Europe. Brussels funds its own
- 15:17Speaker 1: network of NGOs, with an opacity that even the European
- 15:22Speaker 1: Court of Auditors has pointed out. The big foundations, like Soros'
- 15:27Speaker 1: Open Society. The supranational entities that produce norms without ever
- 15:32Speaker 1: facing a voter. It's the last fortress of cultural hegemony.
- 15:38Speaker 1: and it's starting to crack. I'm convinced all of this
- 15:43Speaker 1: is going to collapse, and faster than we think. Gramsci
- 15:46Speaker 1: was right on one essential point. Culture precedes politics. But
- 15:52Speaker 1: he forgot that it works both ways. When an artificial
- 15:56Speaker 1: culture loses its IV drip, what's real underneath rises to
- 16:02Speaker 1: the surface. What comes next, I believe, is a renaissance.
- 16:07Speaker 1: A culture that starts loving beauty, ambition, science, the civilization
- 16:13Speaker 1: that gives it birth again. And in the history books,
- 16:17Speaker 1: we'll remember that it all started when one man decided
- 16:21Speaker 1: to look at the accounts. It took someone rich enough
- 16:25Speaker 1: not to depend on anyone, crazy enough to take it on,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and free enough to weather the hate that would follow. Thanks, Elon.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Senator, this is exactly why I love doing this show
- 16:40Speaker 2: with you, because we get to highlight stories like this.
- 16:43Speaker 2: As you mentioned, no one else is talking about, and
- 16:45Speaker 2: this is one of those stories where I said, everyone listening,
- 16:48Speaker 2: this is what you need to be sharing.
- 16:50Speaker 1: That's exactly right. And I want to encourage you guys, look,
- 16:53Speaker 1: verdict listeners, you're smart, you're informed, and you know things
- 16:58Speaker 1: other people don't. I want to encourage you when you're
- 17:00Speaker 1: talking to your friends, when you're talking to your colleagues
- 17:02Speaker 1: around the water cooler at the office, when you're talking
- 17:04Speaker 1: to your kids, when To say, hey, have you noticed
- 17:09Speaker 1: that every election since we cut off the USAID funding
- 17:12Speaker 1: in Latin America has gone not to the leftists but
- 17:16Speaker 1: to conservatives? What does that tell you about what the
- 17:19Speaker 1: people of Latin America want? And there are two points
- 17:22Speaker 1: that are really important. If it is right that USAID
- 17:26Speaker 1: funding was sending billions to elect communists in Latin America,
- 17:32Speaker 1: The federal government, the American government, was hurting the people
- 17:35Speaker 1: of Latin America. Communism is the most destructive ideology mankind
- 17:38Speaker 1: has ever invented. If the people of Latin America don't
- 17:43Speaker 1: want it, and the fact that once the money stops,
- 17:45Speaker 1: they keep voting for conservative free market candidates suggests they
- 17:49Speaker 1: don't want it, then America was exporting harmful ideology to
- 17:54Speaker 1: the entirety of Latin America, and by the way, I
- 17:56Speaker 1: think more broadly the rest of the world.
- 17:58Speaker 3: But.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Look, Latin America, the Western Hemisphere is our backyard. But secondly,
- 18:04Speaker 1: the people that were being elected in Latin America with
- 18:06Speaker 1: the support of USAID were not just left-wingers. It's one
- 18:10Speaker 1: thing to say, okay, each party, they get in power
- 18:12Speaker 1: and they want their team to win. Okay, their differences,
- 18:16Speaker 1: higher taxes, lower taxes, we can disagree on some of that.
- 18:20Speaker 1: But the people who were being elected in Latin America
- 18:22Speaker 1: were viciously anti-American. They hated the United States of America.
- 18:28Speaker 1: So you literally had the federal government taking the taxpayer
- 18:31Speaker 1: money of Americans and sending it to help support the
- 18:37Speaker 1: election of communists in Latin America who hate America, who
- 18:42Speaker 1: fight America. We were fighting against ourselves. Very few people
- 18:47Speaker 1: realized that was happening. And I will say, Ben, the
- 18:50Speaker 1: chances of USAID being zeroed out or largely zeroed out
- 18:55Speaker 1: under any president other than Donald Trump were essentially zero.
- 19:00Speaker 1: There was not another president who would have had the
- 19:02Speaker 1: guts to do this. And his doing this, it revealed
- 19:06Speaker 1: the absolute crock, the lie, the manipulation, the destruction of
- 19:11Speaker 1: our nation from the deep state. And it was Donald
- 19:14Speaker 1: Trump plus Elon Musk who had courage. And I'll tell you,
- 19:18Speaker 1: they benefited certainly all of Latin America, but they benefited
- 19:21Speaker 1: America too. We're not electing leaders now in our hemisphere
- 19:25Speaker 1: who who hate America, that's a really good thing to
- 19:28Speaker 1: have instead leaders who want to stand with America and
- 19:31Speaker 1: be our friends.
- 19:32Speaker 2: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 19:34Speaker 2: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 19:37Speaker 2: download the podcast from earlier this week to hear the
- 19:40Speaker 2: entire thing. I want to get back to the big story,
- 19:44Speaker 2: number three of the week, you may have missed. All right, Senator,
- 19:47Speaker 2: I want to start with something that really raised a
- 19:49Speaker 2: lot of eyebrows and that was Mondami's statement that he
- 19:52Speaker 2: made on the third anniversary of the horrific October 7th attacks.
- 19:56Speaker 2: And there are a lot of people that were taken
- 19:57Speaker 2: aback by what he said, because it wasn't just a
- 20:00Speaker 2: day where he stood in solidarity for those that were
- 20:04Speaker 2: brutally murdered and kidnapped and raped. He also threw out
- 20:08Speaker 2: that there was, in essence, genocide that happened on the
- 20:11Speaker 2: other side, going after the terrorists in the West Bank,
- 20:15Speaker 2: as he described it, in Gaza. That was the part
- 20:18Speaker 2: that I think shocked so many.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Well, Mondami's statement was truly shameful, and it was released
- 20:23Speaker 1: as an official public statement from the office of the mayor.
- 20:26Speaker 1: So I'm going to read you what exactly he put out. Today...
- 20:31Speaker 1: Mayor Zoran Kwame Mandami, by the way, I didn't know
- 20:33Speaker 1: his middle name was Kwame, but they put it out
- 20:36Speaker 1: every time they refer to him, they refer to him
- 20:38Speaker 1: as Mayor Zoran Kwame Mandami, released the following statement on
- 20:42Speaker 1: the third anniversary of the October 7th attacks. Quote, this
- 20:47Speaker 1: day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It
- 20:50Speaker 1: marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7th.
- 20:55Speaker 1: On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis, and
- 20:59Speaker 1: abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and
- 21:05Speaker 1: neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. Now, Ben, frankly,
- 21:09Speaker 1: if the statement had ended there, it would have been fine.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Not terrific, but fine. He at least acknowledged that more
- 21:16Speaker 1: than 1,100 Israelis were killed, that that More than 200
- 21:20Speaker 1: were abducted. He did not acknowledge that women and girls
- 21:24Speaker 1: were raped. He did not acknowledge that dozens of Americans
- 21:27Speaker 1: were murdered and dozens more were kidnapped. He somehow left
- 21:30Speaker 1: the Americans victims of that atrocity out of his statement.
- 21:33Speaker 1: But if it had ended there, it would have been acceptable.
- 21:40Speaker 1: But it didn't end there. Then what Mondami really thought continues.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I'm going to return to the statement. Quote, the suffering
- 21:47Speaker 1: did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued
- 21:51Speaker 1: through the Israeli government's devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in
- 21:57Speaker 1: which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, including more
- 22:01Speaker 1: than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than
- 22:07Speaker 1: 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering is intensified with
- 22:12Speaker 1: every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every
- 22:17Speaker 1: drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every
- 22:21Speaker 1: shipment of food aid turned away at the border crossing.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief and
- 22:28Speaker 1: we mourn alongside them, all while knowing that our tax
- 22:32Speaker 1: dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must
- 22:37Speaker 1: refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue,
- 22:42Speaker 1: where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal
- 22:45Speaker 1: government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor
- 22:50Speaker 1: the dead, we must fight for a world in which
- 22:52Speaker 1: every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity. And
- 22:57Speaker 1: let me say, this man is a vicious, America-hating, propagandist liar.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Understand that virtually every word that he said in the
- 23:07Speaker 1: remainder of the statement, and three-fourths of his statement, on
- 23:11Speaker 1: October 7th, is blasting Israel and the Jews. Almost every
- 23:15Speaker 1: word of it is a lie. Number one, the death
- 23:17Speaker 1: tolls that he puts out are simply recycled from Hamas's propaganda,
- 23:22Speaker 1: which he accepts with no hesitation at all. His claim
- 23:26Speaker 1: that there is a genocide in Gaza is an utter
- 23:29Speaker 1: and complete lie. It is false. There is not a genocide.
- 23:33Speaker 1: That is not happening. And in fact, the Palestinian population
- 23:36Speaker 1: continues to grow and grow and grow. in Gaza and
- 23:40Speaker 1: in the West Bank. Genocides do not result in populations
- 23:44Speaker 1: growing dramatically. Who is it that wants to do a genocide?
- 23:47Speaker 1: It is Hamas. When they chant, from the river to
- 23:51Speaker 1: the sea, what they mean is from the Jordan River
- 23:54Speaker 1: to the sea, they want to eradicate Israel and kill
- 23:57Speaker 1: every Jew in Israel. It is Hamas who is advocating
- 24:01Speaker 1: a genocide. It is not Israel. Mondami's statement talks about
- 24:06Speaker 1: every drone strike targeting a residential building. By the way,
- 24:11Speaker 1: they are focused on, among others, taking out Nasrallah, the
- 24:14Speaker 1: head of Hezbollah, which that is how they took him out,
- 24:18Speaker 1: and Mondami was mourning that an America-hating, bigoted terrorist was
- 24:24Speaker 1: taken out by the Israeli military in a defensive attack.
- 24:29Speaker 1: This statement, you know, look, it's one thing if he
- 24:32Speaker 1: wants to put out his vicious attack of Israel. Comrade Mondami,
- 24:36Speaker 1: we get it. You hate Israel. You hate Jews. You
- 24:40Speaker 1: also hate Americans and Christians. But we get that. That's
- 24:44Speaker 1: no surprise. But to do it on October 7th is grotesque.
- 24:48Speaker 1: October 7th was the single worst one-day massacre of Jews
- 24:56Speaker 1: since the Holocaust. Did Mondami acknowledge the rapes?
- 25:01Speaker 3: No.
- 25:01Speaker 1: By the way, rapes on October 7th, which to be clear,
- 25:04Speaker 1: Hamas was so proud of that they videotaped and put out.
- 25:07Speaker 1: They didn't hide them. I've watched video of Hamas terrorists
- 25:12Speaker 1: carving the breasts off of women, playing soccer with the
- 25:17Speaker 1: heads of Jews they murdered. And by the way, murdered
- 25:21Speaker 1: Americans as well. And Mondami takes... That anniversary to instead say,
- 25:27Speaker 1: I mourn for the Hamas terrorists who lost their life.
- 25:30Speaker 1: It was disgraceful. And it's who Mondami is.
- 25:33Speaker 2: We were talking about not only his statement, but then
- 25:35Speaker 2: his actions in New York and the crowds as well.
- 25:38Speaker 2: They had a reaction to Mondani and the anti-Israel protesters
- 25:43Speaker 2: as well. Mondani's hands are red.
- 25:46Speaker 1: That's what they chanted. Well, Mondami's statement was shameful on
- 25:51Speaker 1: the anniversary of October 7th. He attacked Israel, he accused
- 25:55Speaker 1: them falsely of genocide. Three-fourths of his statement was simply
- 25:59Speaker 1: blasting Israel and blasting America, to be clear, for supporting Israel.
- 26:03Speaker 1: And yet, nonetheless, his radical base, that wasn't enough. Give
- 26:08Speaker 1: a listen to this coverage of Mondami's behavior on Fox News.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Give a listen.
- 26:15Speaker 6: The mayor of New York, Mondami, has just finished answering
- 26:18Speaker 6: questions about his response to the October 7th events. And
- 26:22Speaker 6: he took the opportunity to double down on his suggestion
- 26:26Speaker 6: that Israel is a genocidal state. He used that word again, genocide.
- 26:32Speaker 6: He insisted on doing that. Well, last night, Mandami was
- 26:36Speaker 6: booed at a vigil, an October 7th vigil. Alexis McCallum
- 26:40Speaker 6: joins me now. Tell me all about it, please, Alexis. Hey, Stu.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Well, it's interesting to see New York City's mayor under
- 26:45Speaker 5: fire now from both sides, including people who went to
- 26:47Speaker 5: bat for him to get him elected just last year.
- 26:49Speaker 5: He's now accused of not being anti-Israel enough, while fellow
- 26:53Speaker 5: Democrats say Mamdani have gone way too far. So on
- 26:56Speaker 5: the third anniversary of the October 7th Hamas massacre, Mamdani
- 27:00Speaker 5: is accusing Israel of genocide, saying in part, many New
- 27:03Speaker 5: Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief and we mourn
- 27:06Speaker 5: alongside them. all while knowing that our tax dollars fund
- 27:10Speaker 5: these war crimes. He had to get a little dig
- 27:12Speaker 5: there at the end. Even though Mamdani is called for
- 27:14Speaker 5: the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it's really
- 27:18Speaker 5: just not good enough for some of these pro-Palestinian protesters
- 27:21Speaker 5: who showed up at a peace vigil and confronted the mayor.
- 27:24Speaker 5: You can see people yelling and fighting here. We see
- 27:27Speaker 5: this in New York often, but usually Mamdani is not
- 27:30Speaker 5: being yelled at, too. He was holding a candle stew
- 27:32Speaker 5: surrounded by Jewish New Yorkers when he got called out.
- 27:35Speaker 6: Watch.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Hamas chants and Hamas flags in New York City again.
- 27:51Speaker 5: And some of those activists helped the Democratic Socialists win
- 27:54Speaker 5: the mayor's election last year, now accusing him of turning
- 27:57Speaker 5: his back on the Palestinian people, calling him a traitor.
- 28:03Speaker 5: I want to end with a message for Zoran Mamdani.
- 28:13Speaker 1: You have a chance to stand with the people of Palestine.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Do not leave behind the cause that you campaigned on.
- 28:22Speaker 5: And Mamdani was asked about this just a short time ago.
- 28:24Speaker 5: He doubled down on calling it a genocide, as you said,
- 28:28Speaker 5: and says he's not bothered by the protests.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Watch.
- 28:31Speaker 7: And when we're speaking of that genocide, we're speaking of
- 28:34Speaker 7: one that has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians in the
- 28:37Speaker 7: last three years. As for those protesting me, I am
- 28:40Speaker 7: the mayor of New York City, and this is what
- 28:42Speaker 7: I signed up for.
- 28:44Speaker 5: The mayor of New York City and also the mayor
- 28:46Speaker 5: of a city that has the largest Jewish population outside
- 28:49Speaker 5: of Israel. Ahead of the midterms, this exposes a big
- 28:51Speaker 5: divide in the Democratic Party about Israel. Even one of
- 28:55Speaker 5: the harshest critics, Mamdani, is just not accused. Accused now
- 28:58Speaker 5: of not going far enough. So how do you win?
- 29:00Speaker 5: I don't think you can win.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Senator, you listen to that, and he really likes using
- 29:04Speaker 2: this word, accusing Israel over and over and over again.
- 29:09Speaker 2: The people, by the way, that were attacked on October
- 29:11Speaker 2: 7th and were massacred on October 7th and are surrounded
- 29:15Speaker 2: by terrorists all around them and people that chant from
- 29:18Speaker 2: the river to the sea. And he says, no, no, no,
- 29:21Speaker 2: you should hate the Jewish people. They're the ones committing genocide.
- 29:25Speaker 2: That is a key word he keeps saying.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Well, and you could hear the chanters yelling, long live
- 29:31Speaker 1: Hamas and waving Hamas flags. That is Mondami's base. Those
- 29:37Speaker 1: are the activists who elected Mondami. Those are the people
- 29:41Speaker 1: who put him in power, and that is right now
- 29:43Speaker 1: the base of today's Democrat Party. Understand, Comrade Mondami is,
- 29:48Speaker 1: I believe, the most powerful Democrat in the country. We
- 29:52Speaker 1: are seeing a green-red alliance. We are seeing the Islamists
- 29:55Speaker 1: and the communists coming together, and taking over the Democrat Party.
- 30:00Speaker 1: And look, the Islamists and Communists, they don't agree on everything,
- 30:02Speaker 1: but they agree on who they hate. They hate Jews,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and they hate Christians. They hate Israel, and they hate America.
- 30:12Speaker 1: They hate the Constitution. They hate the rule of law.
- 30:16Speaker 1: And at the end of the day, the Islamists and
- 30:18Speaker 1: Communists will turn on each other. Once they have eradicated
- 30:21Speaker 1: the Jews and the Christians, once they have eradicated their enemies, Ultimately,
- 30:26Speaker 1: the Islamists plan to kill the communists too. At the
- 30:29Speaker 1: end of the day, they intend to prevail, but in
- 30:31Speaker 1: the short term, they'll make common cause with the communists.
- 30:34Speaker 1: And that is their chant, long live Hamas, is revealing.
- 30:39Speaker 1: There are some people who say, oh, no, no, no, no,
- 30:41Speaker 1: they're not supporting terrorism. They're just, they're advocating for a
- 30:45Speaker 1: two-state solution. No, no, they are not. They are saying
- 30:49Speaker 1: long live Hamas. Hamas are terrorists who targeted civilians. They
- 30:53Speaker 1: didn't attack military targets. They went house to house in
- 30:58Speaker 1: Israel on October 7th, murdering civilians for one reason, because
- 31:03Speaker 1: they are Jewish. Kicking in doors, murdering elderly people, murdering children,
- 31:08Speaker 1: murdering infants, raping women and girls. It was the systematic
- 31:13Speaker 1: target of civilians on racist grounds. And by the way,
- 31:17Speaker 1: you know what else Mondami did on October 7th? What
- 31:22Speaker 1: was that? He went out and ostentatiously had dinner at
- 31:27Speaker 1: a New York City Palestinian restaurant that has an openly
- 31:32Speaker 1: genocidal menu. And he ate at a place called Ayat
- 31:37Speaker 1: Heinz Hall on the Upper West Side. And it is
- 31:41Speaker 1: a restaurant whose sister restaurant in Brooklyn has a menu
- 31:47Speaker 1: section entitled, quote, From the River to the Sea. And
- 31:53Speaker 1: This restaurant, the menu for Heinz Hall, features a map
- 31:59Speaker 1: of what it calls Palestine. And that map is the
- 32:03Speaker 1: entirety of Israel. It's not a two-state solution. It is
- 32:06Speaker 1: showing what they want, which is to utterly obliterate Israel,
- 32:10Speaker 1: to wipe it from the map, and to be clear,
- 32:13Speaker 1: to murder every Jew living in Israel so that it
- 32:16Speaker 1: is only Hamas Palestinians who remain. This is what he
- 32:21Speaker 1: chose to do, not on any given day, but on
- 32:24Speaker 1: October 7th to make clear that if given a choice
- 32:28Speaker 1: between civilians, children, or Hamas terrorists who murder civilians and
- 32:35Speaker 1: rape children, he stands with Hamas and his base, no
- 32:39Speaker 1: matter how much he does that, no matter how much
- 32:42Speaker 1: he lies, no matter how much he slanders and attacks
- 32:46Speaker 1: Israel and Jews, it's not enough for the radical base
- 32:50Speaker 1: that is taking over the Democrat Party.
- 32:52Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Senator
