Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 1: Trump's schedule.
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is 710WOR, where the Mark Simone Show starts now. Hey,
- 0:08Speaker 1: it's Tuesday. If you haven't been outside yet, it feels
- 0:12Speaker 1: like autumn out there. It's chilly out there. It's fall
- 0:15Speaker 1: out there. And autumn officially begins at 8 o'clock tonight.
- 0:19Speaker 1: So you're in the final hours of the summer of 2026.
- 0:25Speaker 1: But not really, because it's already autumn out there. It's
- 0:27Speaker 1: going to be in the 60s all this week. UN
- 0:30Speaker 1: General Assembly all this week. Traffic an absolute nightmare all
- 0:35Speaker 1: around Manhattan. President Trump stayed at Trump Tower last night.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You know, when we give out the president's schedule, sometimes
- 0:44Speaker 1: we've been told, don't give locations. You know, like I said,
- 0:48Speaker 1: he was going to a donor thing last night. He
- 0:50Speaker 1: was going to a gal. Don't give the locations. But
- 0:53Speaker 1: if you walk by Trump Tower, there's 6,000 garbage trucks
- 0:58Speaker 1: parked all around it. These are like barricades to keep
- 1:01Speaker 1: any terrorist bomber from getting near the building. So I
- 1:05Speaker 1: think if you walk by, I've never seen so many
- 1:07Speaker 1: garbage trucks lined up perfectly all around to block the building.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I think he could kind of figure he's there. The
- 1:14Speaker 1: president speaks at the United Nations today, early this morning.
- 1:18Speaker 1: He will speak. He's expected to really let the UN
- 1:21Speaker 1: have it. They are the most useless, ridiculous organization in
- 1:26Speaker 1: the world. He's expected to... explain that to him and
- 1:31Speaker 1: actually talk about maybe redoing the UN into something practical,
- 1:35Speaker 1: something useful, something that actually gets something done. So he'll
- 1:40Speaker 1: speak at the UN and hang on, let me get
- 1:43Speaker 1: the schedule here. He's got a lot going on today.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's a busy day. As they say, he spent the
- 1:48Speaker 1: night at Trump tower first time in his second term
- 1:52Speaker 1: that he has spent the night at Trump tower. It's
- 1:55Speaker 1: gotta be strange for him. You know, You look at
- 1:58Speaker 1: Trump Tower, it's a beautiful apartment building, one of the
- 2:01Speaker 1: nicest in New York. And that's where I always saw him,
- 2:06Speaker 1: at Trump Tower. But if you think about it, he's
- 2:09Speaker 1: lived in the White House now for the last year
- 2:12Speaker 1: and a half. It's like a palace with military, with guards.
- 2:16Speaker 1: It's like living in a palace. And then the other
- 2:20Speaker 1: part of his time, he's living in Mar-a-Lago. Same thing.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It's like a palace. There's military. There's Secret Service. You
- 2:26Speaker 1: can't go from that. Back to just a regular apartment
- 2:29Speaker 1: building with a doorman and a guy behind a desk.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And that's it. He got too big for his own
- 2:36Speaker 1: building now. So he speaks to the General Assembly this morning.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Here's the actual schedule. The president expects to speak about
- 2:46Speaker 1: 40 minutes, maybe an hour. He spoke an hour last time.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Then right after his speech, he's going to go into
- 2:51Speaker 1: a private session with the heads of Denmark and the
- 2:55Speaker 1: head of Greenland. Prime Minister of Greenland, Prime Minister of Denmark,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and that's where they'll sign that agreement giving us permanent
- 3:03Speaker 1: control of Greenland. This is a very important agreement militarily,
- 3:08Speaker 1: national defense-wise. Greenland is a massive island right above the
- 3:13Speaker 1: United States. It's always been a thing we've been very
- 3:17Speaker 1: concerned about, that Russia, China would use that, use Greenland
- 3:21Speaker 1: as a base to attack us. So we need it
- 3:24Speaker 1: for that reason. The other problem is if we were
- 3:26Speaker 1: ever attacked by Russia, by anybody with missiles, Greenland would
- 3:31Speaker 1: be the place where we'd need to defend them from Greenland.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So having permanent control forever and ever is a big deal.
- 3:37Speaker 1: They'll sign that in the next couple hours. And we
- 3:40Speaker 1: already have a base there. We'll build another base there.
- 3:43Speaker 1: We'll put all our missile defense capability that we need
- 3:45Speaker 1: to have there on the island. Then after that, the
- 3:50Speaker 1: president has a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of
- 3:54Speaker 1: the United Kingdom of Great Britain. That's about 11.45. The
- 4:00Speaker 1: UK guy only gets about a half hour, because then
- 4:03Speaker 1: I'm looking at the schedule. It's pretty tight here. Then
- 4:05Speaker 1: he goes to a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister
- 4:08Speaker 1: of Japan. I don't know who wants this job. You know,
- 4:13Speaker 1: if somebody said to you, here's the Prime Minister of Japan,
- 4:16Speaker 1: shoved you in the room, said, talk to him for
- 4:18Speaker 1: a half hour, what the hell would you talk to
- 4:19Speaker 1: him about? What do you really want to talk to
- 4:23Speaker 1: him about? Prime Minister of Japan. What do you ask
- 4:25Speaker 1: him about? Kobe beef? Sushi? Who wants to talk to
- 4:27Speaker 1: this guy? He then goes from that, actually about 1245,
- 4:33Speaker 1: First Lady will address the United Nations General Assembly about
- 4:38Speaker 1: fostering our future together. Ah, there you go. I don't
- 4:42Speaker 1: know what that means, but it sounds good. And then, 115,
- 4:46Speaker 1: the President will have a bilateral meeting with the President
- 4:49Speaker 1: of the Ukraine, that's Zelenskyy. Actually, you remember the first
- 4:52Speaker 1: meeting with Zelensky where he was just this little stooge
- 4:56Speaker 1: begging for help. It's kind of the other way around now.
- 4:59Speaker 1: This guy Zelensky has created the best drone factories, missile factories.
- 5:04Speaker 1: He's turning out the best drones in the world by
- 5:06Speaker 1: the thousands. We actually may be talking to him about
- 5:09Speaker 1: getting weapons from him now, about him selling us some
- 5:13Speaker 1: drones for once. Okay, Zelensky. Then he goes to a
- 5:19Speaker 1: Shield of the America event. United Nations General Assembly, the
- 5:24Speaker 1: Shield of America. Well, that's, see, they come up with
- 5:27Speaker 1: these titles. You don't know what the hell they are.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Then from that, who wants to do this all day?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Then he goes from that meeting to a multilateral meeting
- 5:36Speaker 1: with the Gulf Cooperation Council. Aha. I would think that's
- 5:41Speaker 1: Middle Eastern heads, they'll discuss Iran. Okay, he then leaves there.
- 5:47Speaker 1: He's got to go to a party after this. This
- 5:48Speaker 1: is a UN General Assembly party. But in between, he's
- 5:53Speaker 1: going back to Trump Tower. He goes back to Trump
- 5:57Speaker 1: Tower this afternoon, probably about 3.30 or so. He'll stay
- 6:01Speaker 1: at Trump Tower and then depart for the Latte Palace Hotel.
- 6:06Speaker 1: That's a beautiful hotel. It used to be the Helmsley Palace.
- 6:09Speaker 1: It's the hotel right across from St. Patrick's, Madison Avenue, 50th.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And that's where this event is tonight, the United Nations
- 6:17Speaker 1: General Assembly Leaders' Receptions. You want to see a party
- 6:22Speaker 1: that's not that much fun? The United Nations General Assembly
- 6:27Speaker 1: Leadership Reception. 7.15 he gets there. Oh, look at this.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Look at this. 7.40 he leaves for a meeting. Yeah, see?
- 6:35Speaker 1: That's how bad this party is. They only put like
- 6:37Speaker 1: 20 minutes for it on the schedule. It'll run in,
- 6:41Speaker 1: run out. Then he has a meeting with the acting
- 6:44Speaker 1: president of Venezuela. That's at 7.40. That should be done
- 6:49Speaker 1: about 8.30 or so. And then after that, he heads
- 6:53Speaker 1: to the airport and leaves, goes back to Washington. He'll
- 6:55Speaker 1: be in the White House by 11 o'clock tonight. It's
- 6:58Speaker 1: a pretty busy day. It's a pretty boring day. I
- 7:02Speaker 1: wouldn't want to sit through any of those meetings. And
- 7:05Speaker 1: by the way, because of all this moving around, traffic
- 7:08Speaker 1: will be a nightmare, a nightmare here in New York,
- 7:13Speaker 1: not just around the east side and the U.N., but
- 7:15Speaker 1: because he's going to Trump Tower, that whole area will be,
- 7:18Speaker 1: streets will be closed. Then he's going to the Latte Palace.
- 7:21Speaker 1: That's 50th and Madison around St. Patrick's. All those streets
- 7:25Speaker 1: will get closed. Going to be a real nightmare traffic-wise. Also,
- 7:30Speaker 1: if you need a hooker, you will not be able
- 7:31Speaker 1: to get one this week. UN General Assembly is in town.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Every hooker in New York will be tied up tonight. Literally. No,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I mean, you know, there's actually escorts, hookers, call girls online.
- 7:46Speaker 1: whatever you call it, from all over the world have
- 7:49Speaker 1: come in for this. It's the biggest. It's like Super
- 7:51Speaker 1: Bowl week for them, this UN General Assembly. Also, you'll
- 7:56Speaker 1: see them if you go into big, fancy stores, all
- 7:59Speaker 1: the top jewelry stores, department stores, clothing stores. You'll see
- 8:02Speaker 1: all the wives and a lot of these delegates. They're
- 8:06Speaker 1: supposed to be in meetings and meetings. They're all at Bergdorf.
- 8:09Speaker 1: They're all at Tiffany. They're all at Cartier spending a fortune.
- 8:13Speaker 1: So that's the president's day today. Yesterday, he upset a
- 8:17Speaker 1: lot of his base by meeting with Mom Donnie. I
- 8:21Speaker 1: thought it's pretty, this is what he does. Not only
- 8:24Speaker 1: does he meet with Mom Donnie, when he comes out
- 8:25Speaker 1: and the microphones are there, he talks about what a
- 8:27Speaker 1: great guy he is, how wonderful he is, this and that.
- 8:29Speaker 1: But you got to remember, that's what he does. He
- 8:31Speaker 1: does that all the time. Everybody he meets, I've watched
- 8:36Speaker 1: him do this for 35 years. You go into a party,
- 8:39Speaker 1: anybody comes over and says hello, pats the guy on
- 8:41Speaker 1: the back, is this guy great? Is this guy the best?
- 8:44Speaker 1: Listen to any interview he does. It could be Good
- 8:48Speaker 1: Morning Phoenix. Whatever show he's on. It could be a
- 8:51Speaker 1: radio show in Fargo. Listen to it. He always tells
- 8:55Speaker 1: the host, you know, you're great. You're really great. I
- 8:57Speaker 1: love your show. It's great. What a great show. This
- 8:59Speaker 1: guy's great. He always does that. It's a salesman's technique.
- 9:03Speaker 1: It's very, very good. So they talked about a lot
- 9:06Speaker 1: of things. Is this Mamdani here commenting about it?
- 9:09Speaker 2: Each time the president and I speak, it is about
- 9:11Speaker 2: the same topics. how to improve the lives of New Yorkers,
- 9:15Speaker 2: and how to use the power of government to take
- 9:17Speaker 2: on the cost of living crisis, to grow our economy,
- 9:20Speaker 2: and to build a better, stronger New York.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And that's what Mamdani's all about, improving the lives of
- 9:26Speaker 1: New Yorkers. So he's just about, he's got a great
- 9:31Speaker 1: business model, this Mamdani. He looks the part for his base,
- 9:35Speaker 1: for his base. They're all like Ivy League, you know,
- 9:39Speaker 1: Spoiled brats who are overeducated, can't get a job, don't
- 9:43Speaker 1: actually have any skills. They were indoctrinated in these colleges
- 9:47Speaker 1: about how great socialism is and how capitalism stinks. And
- 9:52Speaker 1: so they love this guy. He just talks about socialism.
- 9:56Speaker 1: And it's a great business model. He just tells you
- 9:57Speaker 1: stuff that you start applauding. It's never going to happen.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Never happened. Free buses. Everybody's applauding. They can't wait to
- 10:05Speaker 1: vote for the free buses. The guy has absolutely no
- 10:09Speaker 1: authority to make the buses free. The mayor of New
- 10:11Speaker 1: York has no control over the buses. They're run by
- 10:15Speaker 1: the state, by the MTA. Hey, he just came out
- 10:18Speaker 1: today and said once again, He's going to arrest Netanyahu.
- 10:21Speaker 1: He has called for the arrest of Netanyahu. He has
- 10:26Speaker 1: absolutely no authority to arrest Netanyahu. First of all, Netanyahu
- 10:30Speaker 1: is part of the UN General Assembly. He's got full,
- 10:33Speaker 1: total diplomatic immunity. He cannot be arrested. And Mamdani keeps
- 10:37Speaker 1: pointing to the, well, he was indicted by the International
- 10:41Speaker 1: Criminal Court. There's no such thing, the International Criminal Court.
- 10:46Speaker 1: It actually exists, but it's not a real court. It's
- 10:49Speaker 1: a great idea. See, this is part of the same thing. Mamdani,
- 10:53Speaker 1: to appeal to the base, just says stuff, and it
- 10:55Speaker 1: sounds great, and everybody runs out to vote for him.
- 10:57Speaker 1: They can't run out fast enough to vote for this
- 11:00Speaker 1: because it sounded great. He has no authority to do it.
- 11:03Speaker 1: And a bunch of these guys years ago, these left-wing kooks,
- 11:06Speaker 1: years ago, in the 80s, they created something called the
- 11:09Speaker 1: International Criminal Court. It's not a real court. It has
- 11:14Speaker 1: absolutely no authority over anything. It's just something they created,
- 11:18Speaker 1: and they call it. It sounds great. The International Criminal Court.
- 11:21Speaker 1: And they're convicting people. They've convicted Netanyahu. But it's not
- 11:25Speaker 1: a real court. They have no actual authority. There's some countries,
- 11:29Speaker 1: you know, crazy left-wing dictator countries that recognize it. But
- 11:34Speaker 1: no normal country recognizes it. Not only do we not
- 11:37Speaker 1: recognize the International Criminal Court, the U.S. government is actually
- 11:40Speaker 1: trying to shut it down. It's just a fake organization.
- 11:43Speaker 1: We have sanctioned it so that they can't use U.S.
- 11:46Speaker 1: currency anymore. the leader of it, by the way, had
- 11:49Speaker 1: to leave, sexual harassment, sexual assault, that kind of stuff.
- 11:53Speaker 1: But it's not a real court. So he's claiming because
- 11:55Speaker 1: of that, he's calling for the arrest of Netanyahu, which
- 11:59Speaker 1: will never, ever, ever, ever happen. But the meeting with Trump,
- 12:03Speaker 1: very cordial. And again, Trump is very good at this stuff. Now,
- 12:06Speaker 1: why is he so busy trying to be friends with
- 12:09Speaker 1: Mom Donnie? Well, he thinks it's the right thing to do.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Maybe he can win him over. You got to try.
- 12:14Speaker 1: The other thing is he's a New Yorker and no
- 12:16Speaker 1: matter what, what level he's risen to. He still just
- 12:19Speaker 1: loves New York City. It's very important to him. So
- 12:23Speaker 1: he wants to push this guy in the right direction,
- 12:24Speaker 1: if he can. He's also a real estate developer. That's
- 12:29Speaker 1: what you do when you're a real estate developer. You
- 12:31Speaker 1: get friendly with the government, with the city. The Trump
- 12:35Speaker 1: organization has a tremendous amount of business and real estate
- 12:38Speaker 1: in New York. So that's the other thing. Now, Mamdani's
- 12:41Speaker 1: got stuff he wants to do. One is called the
- 12:43Speaker 1: Sunnyside Project. It's out there in Queens. railroad yards. They'd
- 12:47Speaker 1: have to cover them over and then build on top
- 12:50Speaker 1: of them. You can do that. That's what Hudson Yards is.
- 12:52Speaker 1: They built over all those train tracks, a couple miles
- 12:56Speaker 1: of train tracks. They built over it and built Hudson Yards.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So they want to do this in Sunnyside. And what
- 13:00Speaker 1: this would be would be like 12,000 houses, low-income housing. Now, Mamdani,
- 13:07Speaker 1: not being that bright, probably doesn't realize the Trump Organization,
- 13:13Speaker 1: before all the fancy Manhattan Trump Tower type stuff, built
- 13:17Speaker 1: low-income housing all over Brooklyn and Queens. They're real, real,
- 13:20Speaker 1: real experts at it. And Mamdani, his project to build
- 13:25Speaker 1: these houses, $ 16 billion. If you got the Trump organization
- 13:30Speaker 1: to do it, it'd be $ 1 billion. And they'd probably
- 13:32Speaker 1: be better built and look better, but he's not smart
- 13:35Speaker 1: enough to figure all that out. And the other problem
- 13:38Speaker 1: is this whole Sunnyside project, the whole neighborhood, the area,
- 13:42Speaker 1: they're viciously opposed to it. So knowing Mamdani, it'll never happen,
- 13:47Speaker 1: never actually happen, but he talked about it.
- 13:49Speaker 2: We've agreed to set up a new level of that
- 13:51Speaker 2: conversation between our housing and operations team at City Hall
- 13:56Speaker 2: and the White House team, because what we're speaking about
- 13:59Speaker 2: is 12,000 homes, 30,000 jobs, the prospect of an entire
- 14:03Speaker 2: new neighborhood in a city where housing is the number
- 14:05Speaker 2: one cost.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So it sounds great. Ooh, and he has a housing
- 14:09Speaker 1: and operations team. The housing operations team will be in
- 14:11Speaker 1: on it. It's a bunch of left-wing kooks, college idiots.
- 14:14Speaker 1: who've never had a job. And Trump is playing along
- 14:18Speaker 1: with this.
- 14:19Speaker 3: The mayor brought that up, the possibility of doing Sunnyside Yards.
- 14:22Speaker 3: It's a very, I would say that was a very
- 14:26Speaker 3: federal-oriented job. You're going to need a lot of federal
- 14:28Speaker 3: approvals and probably some federal money to do it. But
- 14:32Speaker 3: it's always been a great location. I owned a building
- 14:35Speaker 3: in Sunnyside. It was a great building.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I know it very well. Yeah, you see, when Mamdani talks,
- 14:39Speaker 1: it's just pipe dreams. It's just fantasies. I'm going to
- 14:42Speaker 1: build 12,000. I'm going to build. We're going to build.
- 14:44Speaker 1: It's just fantasies. When Trump talks, it's real. He actually
- 14:47Speaker 1: has done it. He's built buildings all over the place.
- 14:50Speaker 1: The Trump Organization owned like 40,000 low-income houses, Brooklyn, Queens.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I mean, he's actually done all this, so it's real
- 14:58Speaker 1: for him.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I certainly hope he will be a great mayor. You
- 15:00Speaker 3: have to understand, I want what's good for New York.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I want what's good for the country. So if I
- 15:05Speaker 3: had a choice of having him be a bad mayor
- 15:08Speaker 3: or a horrible.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Mayor, I don't want that. I want him to be
- 15:11Speaker 1: a great mayor, and he's certainly got potential. All right,
- 15:14Speaker 1: there you go. That's the right attitude. I certainly hope
- 15:17Speaker 1: he will be a great mayor. That's the right attitude.
- 15:20Speaker 1: We hope he'll be a great mayor. We're not going
- 15:23Speaker 1: to hold our breath on that. So far, it doesn't
- 15:26Speaker 1: look so good. But they had the meeting at Gracie Mansion.
- 15:30Speaker 1: President Trump went through Gracie Mansion with Mom Donnie. Now,
- 15:35Speaker 1: this has not been revealed, but I'm sure that... As
- 15:39Speaker 1: they walk through Gracie Mansion, President, have you ever seen
- 15:41Speaker 1: Gracie Mansion? It looks like a house from the 1700s.
- 15:45Speaker 1: It looks like George Washington's Mount Vernon. Very old, stately.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I'm sure as Trump walked through there, he said to Mamdani,
- 15:53Speaker 1: you know, you've got to fix this place up. You know,
- 15:54Speaker 1: but why don't you put some gold on these walls here?
- 15:58Speaker 1: I'll give you the number of my gold guy. I'll
- 16:00Speaker 1: have my gold guy call you. You put gold all
- 16:02Speaker 1: over the walls. And, you know, you need more paintings,
- 16:05Speaker 1: maybe 200 of them on each wall. So... Hopefully, Mamdani
- 16:10Speaker 1: ignores the decorating advice from President Trump. Anyway, we've got
- 16:15Speaker 1: a lot to get to. It's the end of summer.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Eight o'clock tonight. Autumn officially begins when you go outside.
- 16:21Speaker 1: It's cold out. It's chilly out. We'll get to that.
- 16:24Speaker 1: We'll get crazy Kathy Hochul and her AI scheme. We'll
- 16:27Speaker 1: get to that coming up and a whole lot more
- 16:29Speaker 1: just ahead. Mark Simone here three hours every day, nine
- 16:33Speaker 1: to noon every day. here on 710WOR. Or Mark. 710WOR. Well,
- 16:43Speaker 1: yesterday we had that big air traffic glitch that started
- 16:47Speaker 1: in Philadelphia. It caused a backup everywhere. Hundreds and hundreds
- 16:52Speaker 1: and hundreds, like 600, 700 flights. It was an absolute mess.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Any information for us? Yeah, man, nothing works.
- 17:01Speaker 4: Let's see.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Here at Philly, we lost, well, we got like a
- 17:05Speaker 1: bunch of thousand extra data tags on all of our radars.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Our weather doesn't work. Yeah, so everything went out and everywhere.
- 17:13Speaker 1: The radar went out. The weather went out. The towers
- 17:15Speaker 1: went out. Everything went out. That's a ground stop, they
- 17:19Speaker 1: call it. They have to cancel every flight, and when
- 17:22Speaker 1: you cancel everything, Everything at Philadelphia, it ripples out to
- 17:25Speaker 1: all these other airports. You know who's pretty good is Duffy,
- 17:28Speaker 1: Transportation Secretary Duffy. He's been very good at this job.
- 17:31Speaker 1: An exciting day.
- 17:32Speaker 2: This has been a year in the making for us
- 17:36Speaker 2: at DOT.
- 17:37Speaker 5: And the FAA.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yeah, well, they're trying to fix these systems.
- 17:41Speaker 4: This is our effort to give you a better system,
- 17:44Speaker 4: better tools, and better efficiency.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Well, hopefully he gets it done because that's the problem
- 17:49Speaker 1: these days. I hate to tell you this, but what's
- 17:51Speaker 1: in those air traffic control towers is equipment from like
- 17:54Speaker 1: the 70s. It all needs to be fixed and replaced.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But everybody happy with Duffy. You know, they always attack
- 18:01Speaker 1: everybody in the Trump administration, always going after Vance. They
- 18:04Speaker 1: go after Rubio. They go after Kash Patel. You notice
- 18:07Speaker 1: they never, ever, ever say a bad thing about Duffy. Now,
- 18:12Speaker 1: there's a couple of reasons for that. One is when
- 18:14Speaker 1: you're the transportation secretary, the first thing you do is
- 18:18Speaker 1: you give every member of Congress your cell number. Republicans, Democrats,
- 18:23Speaker 1: everybody in Congress, every major media person, you give them
- 18:27Speaker 1: your cell number. And that's because if they're ever trying
- 18:30Speaker 1: to get through the airport, if they ever have a problem,
- 18:32Speaker 1: they can call you right up and you fix it.
- 18:34Speaker 1: So that's why nobody in Congress, left or right, ever
- 18:38Speaker 1: attacks Duffy. That's why nobody on CNN, MSNBC, they never
- 18:44Speaker 1: attack Duffy. Never pick on him because they all have
- 18:46Speaker 1: the cell number. want to get to the airport, don't
- 18:49Speaker 1: want to wait in line. They call him. He has
- 18:51Speaker 1: a guy come right over, walk them right through, right
- 18:54Speaker 1: onto the plane. It happens every day, all day long. Hey,
- 18:58Speaker 1: the Lindsay Clancy trial, they want to do back in
- 19:03Speaker 1: court soon. She has to come back into court and
- 19:06Speaker 1: then they have to have another hearing. Now they got
- 19:07Speaker 1: to decide what to do. She wasn't acquitted. It was
- 19:11Speaker 1: a mistrial, which means you're supposed to try her again.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Now the lawyer for Lindsay Clancy, the old guy with
- 19:18Speaker 1: the glasses. He's very, very busy all over television trying
- 19:24Speaker 1: to convince them there's no hope of convicting her. Why
- 19:27Speaker 1: embarrass yourself again? Don't try her again. Trying to get
- 19:30Speaker 1: the prosecutors to agree to just make some sort of
- 19:33Speaker 1: plea deal. The deal he wants is that she doesn't
- 19:36Speaker 1: go to prison. She goes to some mental health facility instead.
- 19:40Speaker 1: So he's all over television trying to discourage them from
- 19:43Speaker 1: trying her again. and try to encourage them to take
- 19:46Speaker 1: a plea deal. Now, the problem is this particular prosecutor's
- 19:49Speaker 1: office almost never makes a plea deal. So it's very tough.
- 19:54Speaker 1: But this lawyer is pretty good. He's like an old
- 19:56Speaker 1: guy with the glasses. He looks very sincere. His track record,
- 20:00Speaker 1: not so great as an attorney. He's lost a lot
- 20:02Speaker 1: of cases. But he's old. He's in his late 70s.
- 20:05Speaker 1: So this is a good note to go out on.
- 20:08Speaker 1: because he looked pretty good in this case, but he's
- 20:10Speaker 1: trying to convince everybody there's no hope ever again of
- 20:14Speaker 1: convicting her.
- 20:14Speaker 5: But the problem is, as I said from the very beginning,
- 20:17Speaker 5: is that these jurors reached out to the judge for help,
- 20:20Speaker 5: not once but twice, stating clearly and unequivocally that there
- 20:24Speaker 5: was doubt, and then there was reasonable doubt, but he
- 20:27Speaker 5: refused to apply the law, and that's just not right.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Lindsay was entitled to that verdict, but she was denied
- 20:34Speaker 5: that verdict.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we'll see. We'll see. She's got to go
- 20:38Speaker 1: back in court, and we'll see. If you're a left-wing Democrat,
- 20:44Speaker 1: cover your ears for a moment, please. Price of oil
- 20:48Speaker 1: dropping again, down another $ 3 a barrel today. 92 right now,
- 20:53Speaker 1: $ 92 a barrel. Price dropping fast over the last week. Remember,
- 20:58Speaker 1: it was like 107 just a week ago. It spiked up.
- 21:01Speaker 1: It really spiked up into the hundreds. But that was brief,
- 21:03Speaker 1: just a few days. Now it's back down in the
- 21:06Speaker 1: 90s and dropping and dropping. Stock market doing very, very,
- 21:12Speaker 1: very well. Yeah, up, up. Okay, if you're a Democrat,
- 21:18Speaker 1: you're going to uncover your ears now. Autumn begins tonight,
- 21:21Speaker 1: 8 o'clock. It's going to be cold all week in
- 21:24Speaker 1: the 60s. That's not really cold. Mid-60s is pretty nice,
- 21:28Speaker 1: but after the whole summer, it seems very, very, very cold. So, hey, Hochul,
- 21:36Speaker 1: Kathy Hochul, our governor, You know, the Democrats, they always,
- 21:41Speaker 1: Republicans usually campaign with something, some sort of a promise.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You know, we'll cut your taxes, we'll close the border.
- 21:46Speaker 1: They promise you stuff. And then when Democrats campaign, they usually,
- 21:51Speaker 1: they have to convince you you're all going to die
- 21:53Speaker 1: if you don't vote for them. There's something that's going
- 21:55Speaker 1: to kill you at any moment. It was climate change
- 21:59Speaker 1: was going to kill you. Now it's AI is going
- 22:02Speaker 1: to kill you. This is how they campaign. You're going
- 22:04Speaker 1: to be totally wiped out if you don't vote for us.
- 22:07Speaker 1: They always have to have some huge boogeyman that's going
- 22:10Speaker 1: to just wipe you out and kill you. And the
- 22:13Speaker 1: climate change is not working anymore for them. Every test
- 22:16Speaker 1: they run, focus group, survey, climate change doesn't work. People
- 22:21Speaker 1: aren't buying it anymore. They've been telling you for 30
- 22:23Speaker 1: years this is going to happen, that's going to happen.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Nothing they tell you ever happened. There's this clip all
- 22:28Speaker 1: over the internet now, Bernie Sanders. six years ago in
- 22:31Speaker 1: that presidential debate saying, the scientists say we only have
- 22:35Speaker 1: six years left. If we don't do it, within six years,
- 22:38Speaker 1: we'll all be wiped out. Well, it's six years later.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Nothing changed. Everything's fine. So that's not working anymore. So
- 22:45Speaker 1: AI is the new thing that's going to kill you.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And they got these four, it's a cartel that runs AI,
- 22:50Speaker 1: four companies, this little cartel, all very close to Barack Obama,
- 22:54Speaker 1: who's been the chess master orchestrating this. So they all
- 22:58Speaker 1: came out with these examples of how AI is escaping
- 23:01Speaker 1: and it's going to wipe us all out. People within
- 23:04Speaker 1: the companies now coming forward and said, these weren't the
- 23:06Speaker 1: cases where AI escaped. They were cases where they deliberately
- 23:10Speaker 1: didn't draw it right. Now the head of NVIDIA, one
- 23:15Speaker 1: of the most respected brains in America, CEO Jensen Wang,
- 23:18Speaker 1: said there is a zero percent chance AI will end
- 23:23Speaker 1: the world by 2030. A zero percent chance. He says,
- 23:27Speaker 1: don't worry about it. But, what these politicians are doing,
- 23:30Speaker 1: especially the locals. Newsom started it in California. He is
- 23:35Speaker 1: passing strict AI laws. That's it. Nobody knows what they are.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Nobody knows what these laws that actually do, but it
- 23:43Speaker 1: sounds good. Kathy Hochul doing the same thing right now.
- 23:46Speaker 1: She's passing strict AI laws as if Kathy Hochul Could
- 23:51Speaker 1: even figure out how to reset her phone. She's going
- 23:54Speaker 1: to run AI for you.
- 23:56Speaker 6: In November, we'll direct frontier AI developers to register with
- 24:00Speaker 6: the state. Then in January, those AI companies will be
- 24:04Speaker 6: mandated by law. The effective date of the law is
- 24:07Speaker 6: January to comply with strict transparency standards. They'll be required
- 24:12Speaker 6: to publish their safety protocols and report any critical safety
- 24:16Speaker 6: instances within 72 hours.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Woof. oh my God, that sounds comprehensive. Then you think
- 24:23Speaker 1: about what does that mean? You got to publish your
- 24:25Speaker 1: safety protocols. You know, when you go to get your
- 24:28Speaker 1: new iPhone or you want to log in the first time,
- 24:31Speaker 1: you have to sign an agreement and the agreement is
- 24:34Speaker 1: 72,000 paragraphs that nobody's ever read. That's what the safety
- 24:37Speaker 1: protocols are. It's a million thousand billion paragraphs. Nobody's going
- 24:41Speaker 1: to read this. Then at the end, you just click agree.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Even if you had, even if you were serving life
- 24:46Speaker 1: in prison, you wouldn't have time to read this whole agreement. Anyway,
- 24:49Speaker 1: we've got a lot to get to. We'll take some
- 24:51Speaker 1: calls coming up. Don't go away. Mark Simone here, 9
- 24:54Speaker 1: to noon every day, 710WOR.
- 24:58Speaker 2: It's the Mark Simone Show.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios. Hey, we'll take some
- 25:05Speaker 1: calls in a minute. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 25:07Speaker 5: 800-321-0710.
- 25:07Speaker 1: You know, the San Gennaro Festival, San Gennaro Feast is
- 25:10Speaker 1: on right now. 100th anniversary. Now, Little Italy has been
- 25:22Speaker 1: shrinking through the years. Little Italy used to be 30 blocks.
- 25:27Speaker 1: It's five blocks now. It's been shrinking for a few reasons. One,
- 25:31Speaker 1: Chinatown's been creeping in, taking over blocks. And then developers
- 25:35Speaker 1: have been buying up blocks and building all sorts of
- 25:38Speaker 1: modern office apartment buildings, all sorts of stuff. And then
- 25:43Speaker 1: prices have been going up, astronomical rents, a lot of
- 25:46Speaker 1: those multi-generational businesses. have left, but it's still there, and
- 25:52Speaker 1: it's the 100th anniversary of the Feast of San Gennaro,
- 25:55Speaker 1: and there's new generations coming in. You know, there's all
- 25:58Speaker 1: the old Little Italy places that you all know, but
- 26:01Speaker 1: there's a lot of new young hotshot little places coming
- 26:06Speaker 1: in there. So it's on the San Gennaro Festival. Speaking
- 26:10Speaker 1: of eating, J.B. Pritzker, the problem is he's losing a
- 26:15Speaker 1: lot of weight. This is a problem because it's always
- 26:18Speaker 1: been great to call him a fat slob, Ralph Cramden-looking governor.
- 26:22Speaker 1: But Pritzker, now they always say you can tell when
- 26:26Speaker 1: a guy's running for president because he'll start losing weight.
- 26:28Speaker 1: The old veterans always taught us that, the Bob Novaks
- 26:33Speaker 1: and the Evans and Novak, and they would always say, watch,
- 26:36Speaker 1: if he starts losing weight, if he starts buying better clothes,
- 26:39Speaker 1: it means he's running for president. So Pritzker has lost
- 26:43Speaker 1: 80 pounds all of a sudden. Now, he's a big,
- 26:46Speaker 1: fat Ralph Cramden-looking guy, but he's slimming down, 80 pounds
- 26:50Speaker 1: so far, on the GLP-1 shots. So that's caused all
- 26:56Speaker 1: kinds of talk about 2028. He said, when asked about it,
- 27:00Speaker 1: he said, well, I've been driven to lose weight my
- 27:03Speaker 1: whole life. It's been something I've wanted to do my
- 27:04Speaker 1: whole life. Well, all of a sudden, you didn't do
- 27:07Speaker 1: it until now. So that's why it's a little suspicious.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Once the GLP-1 drugs became available, well, that changed everything,
- 27:15Speaker 1: and I started using it. But again, a lot of
- 27:19Speaker 1: people lose weight. Remember Chris Christie, who was the other
- 27:22Speaker 1: big fat slob running for president, all of a sudden
- 27:25Speaker 1: got that lap band surgery. And by the way, I
- 27:30Speaker 1: think he's entitled to a refund on that surgery. Does
- 27:32Speaker 1: he look any thinner? Did he ever look any thinner?
- 27:35Speaker 1: But Pritzker losing weight. Hey, by the way, those GLP-1 drugs, drugs,
- 27:40Speaker 1: there's a new study out that shows they may cause
- 27:43Speaker 1: eye problems, serious eye damage that would be irreversible. I mean, listen,
- 27:48Speaker 1: there's always a study coming out that says one thing
- 27:50Speaker 1: or another, but I'm just warning you that came out.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Nobody's really seen the full side effects. Hey, let's take
- 27:55Speaker 1: some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 27:57Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Let's go to Kathy in North Carolina. Kathy, how you doing? Morning, Mark. Hello, Kathy.
- 28:10Speaker 1: How you doing?
- 28:12Speaker 4: Good. You know, last week or whenever it was, when
- 28:16Speaker 4: that 9-11 widow mentioned the Saudi stuff, which kind of
- 28:20Speaker 4: surprised everybody. I mean, the whole monologue she did. I
- 28:25Speaker 4: guess my algorithm was listening to me because into my algorithm,
- 28:30Speaker 4: a documentary called The Fifth Plane. Am I like the
- 28:35Speaker 4: only person who knew about this or didn't know about
- 28:38Speaker 4: this rather? about the JFK plane. It was a very
- 28:42Speaker 4: good documentary. It's not brand new.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yeah, the problem with documentaries is half of them are
- 28:47Speaker 1: totally fake and false and not true. But because they're documentaries,
- 28:51Speaker 1: they look like some sort of news program.
- 28:54Speaker 4: They had a lot of real people on there.
- 28:59Speaker 1: You can always find real people to do that. That
- 29:00Speaker 1: doesn't mean it's true. Look at the JFK assassination. There's
- 29:05Speaker 1: a million documentaries, including the Oliver Stone movie. That are
- 29:09Speaker 1: total fiction.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Okay, my question is, have you heard about the fifth
- 29:14Speaker 4: plane controversy, that there were Saudi people on it? Yes, yes.
- 29:18Speaker 4: And because they shut down.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Yes, and it turned out not to be true.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Really?
- 29:24Speaker 4: Okay.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Now listen.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Because it looked pretty real to me.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Listen, listen, listen, listen to me. Some people want to
- 29:30Speaker 1: believe this stuff. Like with the JFK assassination, they want
- 29:33Speaker 1: to believe there were people in the grass. You know,
- 29:35Speaker 1: they just want to believe it. You can't argue them.
- 29:37Speaker 1: It's emotional.
- 29:38Speaker 4: But it's not.
- 29:38Speaker 1: It's not.
- 29:39Speaker 2: It's what we need.
- 29:40Speaker 4: All we knew. Everybody was going to bomb us. So
- 29:43Speaker 4: why would that not be?
- 29:46Speaker 1: If you want to believe there was a fifth plane,
- 29:47Speaker 1: you believe there was a fifth plane. Hey, late at night,
- 29:49Speaker 1: we got a flying saucer show on. You ought to
- 29:51Speaker 1: listen to that.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Stop.
- 29:53Speaker 4: I'm very sensible, girl.
- 29:56Speaker 1: No, seriously. They tell you all about the UFOs that
- 29:58Speaker 1: have been landing here left and right.
- 30:00Speaker 4: So you speak to it. You had heard of it,
- 30:03Speaker 4: and you have discarded it.
- 30:05Speaker 1: There's no getting through to you on this. It's not
- 30:07Speaker 1: you personally. It's just anybody who loves these conspiracy theories.
- 30:10Speaker 1: You can't talk them out of it. You remember the
- 30:12Speaker 1: Rosie O'Donnell that the World Trade Center was exploded, that
- 30:17Speaker 1: fire can't melt steel? Remember that one?
- 30:20Speaker 3: Oh, no, no.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I'm not going there.
- 30:22Speaker 1: How do you think they make steel today?
- 30:24Speaker 4: The widow that was talking about the Saudis, I thought.
- 30:26Speaker 1: I didn't realize. You can keep believing it. Enjoy yourself.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Knock yourself out. There's a fifth plane. You believe that.
- 30:33Speaker 4: I trust your opinion. I wasn't not believing it or not.
- 30:36Speaker 4: I just couldn't believe I'd never.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Heard of it.
- 30:38Speaker 1: What's the temperature down there in North Carolina?
- 30:42Speaker 4: You know, it's been in the 90s.
- 30:43Speaker 6: Really?
- 30:43Speaker 4: So it's pretty hot.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:46Speaker 4: But today it finally cooled off a little bit. And
- 30:49Speaker 4: we always have the exact same weather you guys have.
- 30:51Speaker 4: It's cooled off there, right? I don't know what it is.
- 30:53Speaker 4: We have the exact same weather.
- 30:55Speaker 1: And what's the deal, North Carolina? There's no income tax?
- 31:00Speaker 4: There is income tax.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Why did you move to North Carolina?
- 31:05Speaker 4: It's very expensive here. Why move there.
- 31:09Speaker 1: If you're in New York or New Jersey? Why move
- 31:11Speaker 1: to North Carolina?
- 31:12Speaker 4: It wasn't financial for me.
- 31:14Speaker 6: It was.
- 31:16Speaker 4: personal, but I miss you guys so much, and especially
- 31:19Speaker 4: want to hear about Little Italy.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Thanks. All right. Well, thanks for calling, Kathy. You see,
- 31:23Speaker 1: that's the thing. I'm going to move to Florida. I'm
- 31:25Speaker 1: going to move to South Carolina. I'm going to move
- 31:27Speaker 1: to North Carolina. I'm going to move to Nashville. It
- 31:30Speaker 1: sounds great, but then all you do is you read
- 31:33Speaker 1: the New York Post every day, and you listen to
- 31:35Speaker 1: the New York radio, and you just miss everything here.
- 31:40Speaker 1: You miss everything here. Some of these states, Florida, there's
- 31:42Speaker 1: no income tax, no state income tax. That's what they
- 31:47Speaker 1: got to do to get people there. That's why people
- 31:48Speaker 1: are there. You know a state is really good when
- 31:51Speaker 1: they can charge a ton of income tax and people
- 31:53Speaker 1: still live there. I mean, you know, it's like a restaurant.
- 31:57Speaker 1: You have given away the food for free. Of course
- 31:59Speaker 1: you're going to have everybody coming. But if you can
- 32:01Speaker 1: charge a fortune and people still come, then you know
- 32:04Speaker 1: you're doing well. A Paramount merger, they have cleared the
- 32:09Speaker 1: way for it. We'll get to this coming up. So
- 32:12Speaker 1: Paramount is going to take over Warner Brothers Discovery, and
- 32:16Speaker 1: it'll be a huge entertainment conglomerate. There were all these
- 32:21Speaker 1: states that were suing to block it. They've settled, but
- 32:24Speaker 1: it's an intricate settlement. Anyway, we'll get to all of
- 32:26Speaker 1: that coming up. We've got a lot to talk about
- 32:28Speaker 1: in the next two hours. Don't forget, I'm here three
- 32:31Speaker 1: hours every day, nine to noon, nine to noon every day.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Then at noon, you've got Buck Sexton and Clay Travis.
- 32:38Speaker 1: We actually have the biggest, most listened to talk radio
- 32:41Speaker 1: shows all on this station. Buck Sexton, Clay Travis, 10
- 32:45Speaker 1: million listeners. Sean Hannity at three, the most listened to
- 32:48Speaker 1: radio show in America. Then you got Jesse Kelly at six.
- 32:52Speaker 1: You got Jimmy Fela. What a funny show every night.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Jimmy Fela every night, nine to midnight. It's all here
- 32:59Speaker 1: on 710WOR. Mark Zemmong, Mr. New York. Now three hours
- 33:05Speaker 1: every weekday from nine till noon on 710WOR. Well, uh,
- 33:14Speaker 1: it's a UN general assembly week. It's a gridlock everywhere.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Today's going to be the worst of it. The president, uh,
- 33:20Speaker 1: president Trump speaking at the UN this morning and then, uh, uh,
- 33:24Speaker 1: moving around the city, he'll be going back to a
- 33:26Speaker 1: Trump tower. Uh, he'll be going to, uh, uh, the
- 33:29Speaker 1: palace hotel 50th and Madison. So expect a lot of
- 33:34Speaker 1: road closures, street closures, total gridlock around those areas. It's
- 33:38Speaker 1: going all day today. Now the president leaves tonight, uh,
- 33:43Speaker 1: At 8.30, 9 o'clock, he'll leave New York. So that'll
- 33:46Speaker 1: ease it up a little. But it's still going to
- 33:48Speaker 1: be a mess all week. President will speak today. Melania
- 33:52Speaker 1: speaks at the U.N. later today. Netanyahu comes in on Thursday.
- 33:57Speaker 1: This U.N. stuff goes on all week long. Total gridlock
- 34:00Speaker 1: in Manhattan. Just awful. It's the first, well, it's the
- 34:05Speaker 1: final few hours of summer. Autumn, fall begins 8 o'clock tonight. Hey,
- 34:11Speaker 1: we've got two more hours to go. We'll get to
- 34:14Speaker 1: the president, the press, the band. We'll get to all
- 34:16Speaker 1: of that and more coming up. 710WOR.
