- 0:00Speaker 1: So yesterday, day before I think it was, my son
- 0:04walks into the house, little Bill, who's six foot four,
- 0:08and he says, I got this scotch. You want to
- 0:12try it? And now I don't drink scotch much, but
- 0:17I said, sure, you know, I'll taste it. I guess
- 0:20it's called it's hard to pronounce. I think it's lafrougu
- 0:26l a p h r a ig lafroug. I think
- 0:30that's how you say it sounds. And it's scotch whiskey,
- 0:34and they have several different varieties. I think this was
- 0:36a ten year old. Here's what they say about their scotch.
- 0:40There's something about Lafroug and the festive season which works
- 0:43so well together, raising a toast among friends, late night
- 0:48wrapping sessions, even a moment to yourself to appreciate another year.
- 0:52Lafroyg has a whiskey for every taste and occasion this week,
- 0:56enjoy free gift wrapping when you order Lafroug and so forth.
- 0:59So anyway, my son hands me the bottle and he says,
- 1:03smell it, sniff it. What does it smell like? And
- 1:06I sniffed the bottle and I said, that smells like gasoline,
- 1:11and he said, I.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Know that's a positive. I know that's a farently sought
- 1:17after quality.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I guess, I guess for him, he said, taste it.
- 1:22So I poured a little bit in a glass and
- 1:25I said, you know what, It tastes like gasoline and
- 1:27he said, I know. And I said, you like that? Yeah,
- 1:34I don't. It's just the weirdest thing. I mean, it
- 1:37really does smell like gasoline.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Texture here says that's the funkiest scotch on the market.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's very Is it in a plastic bottle?
- 1:46Speaker 2: No?
- 1:46Speaker 1: No, it's fairly expensive. Really.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of sounds like the point of it
- 1:50is for it to be sort of horrible.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's it's very very It's it's because there's so much
- 1:55smokiness and peat quality to it that it's it's just
- 2:01it sounds.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Like Deare scotch.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like dere liquor.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah it's but yeah, it's not cheap.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And Exter says it tastes like band aid.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Aid. I don't know what is a band aid tasted.
- 2:15I don't think so. Yeah, I'm gonna have to ask
- 2:18Jimmy about it tomorrow. About Lefroyd because he's he is
- 2:21an expert on the Scotches and and why does it?
- 2:25And I'm not kidding you. It's it smells like gasoline.
- 2:28That's the first thing that comes to earth.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Like something you shouldn't be consuming.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Well, it's the bottle is almost gone. So he enjoyed it.
- 2:36But but there is something that I've found that I
- 2:38really enjoy food stuff. Have you had the zebra popcorn?
- 2:43Speaker 2: No? No?
- 2:44Speaker 3: What is zebra popcorn?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Oh? You cannot stop eating it? What makes it? Z?
- 2:52I think we get it at a Costco And it's
- 2:56a it's a big red bag zebra popcorn. It's caramel
- 2:59corn and then it's uh, it's got had as a
- 3:05drizzles of dark and white chocolate on it on each
- 3:08curtain stripes. Yeah, and I'm not I'm not kidding you.
- 3:15If you start, if you take one little handful, you
- 3:17will just keep going. It's you could mow through that
- 3:20whole bag.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Katie says that we've all had it.
- 3:23Speaker 1: We have.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Apparently Listeners gave us something, a big container of it.
- 3:28Speaker 1: How long ago I don't remember. I don't remember.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Two or three years ago, two or three years I
- 3:32don't remember.
- 3:33Speaker 1: But it's just been in my every time my wife
- 3:36goes to Costco a bag comes home and it's like.
- 3:40Speaker 3: You can't stop eating.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Is it's great, it's just but it's I've not tasted
- 3:47anything that I felt is quite so addictive bourbon.
- 3:52Speaker 2: So so it's uh Mohammed's birthday on Thursday.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Get him some zebra popcorn.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Well and I and I ordered him the Prantiles.
- 4:01Speaker 1: The cake.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, the cake, the best cake in the world. Tom
- 4:04Cruise's cake got nothing on the Prantiles burnt almond toor.
- 4:09But I made a mistake when I ordered it because
- 4:11you can pick the day that it arrives. Oh okay,
- 4:14and I just ordered it and it came early. Now
- 4:17you can put it in the freezer.
- 4:18Speaker 3: That's what we do.
- 4:20Speaker 2: This was like last week. So it's in the freezer
- 4:23and I come home a couple of days later and
- 4:26Joe said, I made a mistake. I went to get
- 4:29something out of the freezer and I had to move
- 4:32the prantiles to get to the thing, and I forgot
- 4:35to put it back.
- 4:38Speaker 3: So the cake was a week early.
- 4:40Speaker 2: So we've had the cake, but it's the birthday is
- 4:44until Thursday.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Well here now, so the cake has already gone. Yeah,
- 4:48oh you should, like you should have brought it here
- 4:51and I would have eaten it and you could just
- 4:52order another.
- 4:53Speaker 3: One there, like eighty dollars a cake, so we just
- 4:59had See, I didn't need to know the price, so
- 5:02just order doesn't tell me how much stuff is. Yeah,
- 5:06they're ridiculous.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but like now, we just had some expensive cake for.
- 5:12Speaker 3: But see when you said you made a mistake, I
- 5:13thought maybe you clicked chocolate instead of regularly, which you
- 5:16have done. I've done, and that was a mistake. Don't
- 5:18do get the white cake.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Had I had a twenty dollars ice cream cake from
- 5:22a Baskin Robbins.
- 5:24Speaker 2: For your birthday.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you had me until you said basket They're actually
- 5:29quite good and it's but it was it was almost
- 5:34it was maybe not even twenty dollars. It was maybe fifteen.
- 5:38That's that's how far we go on my birthday.
- 5:41Speaker 3: There's a comedian I follow on social media and she
- 5:43says that she used to work at the basket Robins
- 5:45when she was a kid. And she says that her
- 5:49her right arm muscle is larger than her left arm muscle,
- 5:53simply from scooping the bubblegum flavor ice cream specific which
- 5:58is the hardest substance known to me. Apparently.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Actually, usually my child, my youngest child makes me a
- 6:05coconut cake for my birthday, and I really like coconut cake.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Now I understand Basket Robins is trying harder these days.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I don't know, I haven't been in a long time.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I heard somebody talking about how they have these they're
- 6:17they're working on their you know, they have their regular flavors,
- 6:20which are I'm an ice cream snob, I admit it.
- 6:24But bask and Robbins is trying to do some high
- 6:27end to get it. Yeah, you know, yeah, special flavor,
- 6:31fancy fancy stuff.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they're trying well. Baskin Robbins is dead to me.
- 6:36Why yes, because they closed the one on for South
- 6:39Oh yeah, I'm not my Sugarhouse Park. Still, I'm not
- 6:42going to Sugarhouse. I'm not going out there more blocks. No,
- 6:46that's too far, that's too far, too far, that's too
- 6:50far for a scoop of ice cream Sugarhouse Park. No
- 6:53I can get I can get a scoop of ice
- 6:55cream closer to home.
- 6:56Speaker 3: No, we don't have Fudgi the way all out here. No, okay,
- 7:00that East Coast thing.
- 7:01Speaker 1: That Fudgie is from Carvel, Carvell Carvell ice Cream. We
- 7:05don't have a Carvell out here. I used to when
- 7:07I lived in New York. They had the guy who
- 7:09won't mister Carvell doing the ads on TV and he
- 7:13was horrible. God damn Fudgie the whale, and come on
- 7:17into Carvell's ice cream.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Fudgey would like an ice cream cake?
- 7:21Speaker 1: Sound? I really like ice cream cakes. My grandmother used
- 7:26to take you know, she'd make like a chocolate cake,
- 7:28and before it got all eat and it just get
- 7:30kind of stale. So she would slice it and put
- 7:33it in a you know, like a casserole dish, layer
- 7:37of ice cream, more layers of chocolate cake, more layers
- 7:41of ice cream. Put it in the freezer for a
- 7:43while and it was great.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Seaman Dave texting Lafroy Scotch smells like diesel and tastes
- 7:50like a weight a wet basement of an old, abandoned library.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Why would anyone buy that?
- 7:55Speaker 1: It smelled like diesel, like gasoline or diesel gasoline? Yeah,
- 7:59I don't know. We'll have to ask Jimmy about it.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yeah, ask him what what's the deal with this scotch
