- 0:15Speaker 2: two Broke Chicktoobs, the show that said fuck, The show

- 0:32Speaker 1: another episode, third episode of the year, and I'm very
- 0:35Speaker 1: excited for this one because we are going to be
- 0:39Speaker 1: talking about how to become unrecognizable in a year in
- 0:44Speaker 1: twenty twenty five.
- 0:45Speaker 3: You're gonna give us the background. What's the context?
- 0:47Speaker 4: Okay, what's the tea?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah, what's the tea?
- 0:50Speaker 4: Because it's a fun little story why we're disposing the tea.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Over the break, I posted a TikTok just on like
- 0:58Speaker 1: my personal TikTok, asking people to tell me what was
- 1:02Speaker 1: the one thing last year that made them completely unrecognizable.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I didn't care if it was zero dollars or one
- 1:10Speaker 1: hundred dollars. I want to know what was the one
- 1:12Speaker 1: thing that changed their life? And what was so cool
- 1:16Speaker 1: was just the array of responses. This video ended up
- 1:21Speaker 1: getting three million views and over seven thousand comments, and
- 1:25Speaker 1: I was like, oh well, yeah, I was like, I
- 1:27Speaker 1: get some reading to do.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It was also the nicest comments section ever.
- 1:31Speaker 4: It was like literally therapy.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Like the array of comments literally spanned from you know,
- 1:38Speaker 1: Dove gradual Tanner to you know, having a baby or
- 1:43Speaker 1: being cancer free or you know, the theories and life
- 1:47Speaker 1: lessons that literally helped people completely alter their brain chemistry.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Like it was just a really cool section and I
- 1:54Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, we need to do an
- 1:56Speaker 1: episode on this to share with the chicks.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Yeah, We've pulled some.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Of the most popular comments from that TikTok and also
- 2:06Speaker 1: some of our favorites and we're going to read them
- 2:08Speaker 1: out and I'm excited and discuss and discuss. It's going
- 2:13Speaker 1: to podcast Root Chick Coconut.
- 2:18Speaker 4: I'm gonna go out on the limb here. I think
- 2:22Speaker 4: we have a new podcast crush.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So last year we had a podcast crush on the
- 2:27Speaker 1: Morning Shift, which we still do.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Yeah, speak for yourself.
- 2:31Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, there's still we still have
- 2:33Speaker 1: a crush on that. Okay, we still love them, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: by that I mean like we find them really funny.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Don't make it weird. However, I feel like we have.
- 2:40Speaker 1: A bit of a new bit of a new podcast,
- 2:42Speaker 1: crush we do and it's the Basement Yard.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Love that and I love them? Do you know what?
- 2:48Speaker 3: You know?
- 2:49Speaker 1: That like saying, and it's like pick like three men
- 2:51Speaker 1: men you would actually feel safe in a room with Yes,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I would pick the Morning Shift and the Basement Yard.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah sure, euhe is I don't know if they would
- 3:01Speaker 4: feel safe with me.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Absolutely not. Let's get into our obsessions of the week.
- 3:06Speaker 5: My obsession of the week is the renaissance of Heidi
- 3:10Speaker 5: Montag and Spencer Pratt, which some of you chicks may
- 3:14Speaker 5: have seen on TikTok. But of course, the tragedy of
- 3:17Speaker 5: the La fires that has been happening over the last
- 3:20Speaker 5: few weeks has been absolutely awful and so many people
- 3:23Speaker 5: have lost their homes and possessions, and you know, we've
- 3:26Speaker 5: seen a lot of people, I guess like gather together
- 3:29Speaker 5: to support people who have lost a lot.
- 3:32Speaker 3: And of course, due to the area that the fires are.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Happening, lots of celebrities have been affected by this and
- 3:37Speaker 5: that's getting a lot of news headlines.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Two of which who have.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Become very unlikely heroes of twenty twenty five is Heidi
- 3:45Speaker 5: Montag and Spencer Pratt, who if you're not familiar with
- 3:48Speaker 5: the Hills, they're a couple who have been together for
- 3:50Speaker 5: like twenty years now or something. But they were probably
- 3:53Speaker 5: the most hated celebrities in two thousand and seven, and
- 3:58Speaker 5: I would say that they've remained highly disliked up until now,
- 4:03Speaker 5: and then they sadly lost their home, their family home
- 4:07Speaker 5: in the fires, and since then, Spencer has been campaigning
- 4:12Speaker 5: to get everybody to play Hardy Montags songs that were
- 4:16Speaker 5: released in twenty ten, and as a result, she has
- 4:20Speaker 5: been charting number one. And it is fucking incredible because
- 4:24Speaker 5: all of these members of The Hills.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Cast have been posting tiktoks.
- 4:28Speaker 5: And even Laguna Beach, like you know, the shows that
- 4:31Speaker 5: are associated with The Hills have been posting tiktoks and
- 4:34Speaker 5: using her music as the sounds and making it go viral,
- 4:37Speaker 5: and you know, it's silly and goofy, and it's just
- 4:41Speaker 5: nice to see people banding together and also to see
- 4:44Speaker 5: these two really unlikely heroes of twenty twenty five, like
- 4:48Speaker 5: this was not on my bingo car at all, and
- 4:51Speaker 5: especially as like you know, I would say a pretty
- 4:54Speaker 5: proud team Lauren Conrad member.
- 4:58Speaker 3: But I'm streaming.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Can you play it for me? I've never heard it before?
- 5:05Speaker 4: Is this it?
- 5:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 5:08Speaker 1: It's oh god, I've literally heard this on TikTok. I
- 5:13Speaker 1: didn't even realize it was that. I know, get your bag, sis, I.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Know, right, go off.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Speaking of TikTok, my obsession is what's going on? So
- 5:28Speaker 1: obviously everyone has seen that TikTok is on track to
- 5:34Speaker 1: get banned in the US. And did you see that
- 5:37Speaker 1: this app called red Note is now like the most
- 5:41Speaker 1: downloaded app and like the creator has re altered it
- 5:45Speaker 1: of red Note to look like TikTok, right, Yeah, and
- 5:48Speaker 1: apparently that's like the new TikTok for Americans. But it's
- 5:52Speaker 1: really interesting to see and understandably so all of these
- 5:56Speaker 1: like US creators like scrambling to shift their audience over
- 6:01Speaker 1: to their Instagram or over to red Note, and they're
- 6:05Speaker 1: basically starting from scratch on like that app. But I
- 6:09Speaker 1: just I really I think I'm naive. There's something in
- 6:12Speaker 1: me that I'm like.
- 6:13Speaker 3: No, yeah, like a la minute, it's not gonna happen.
- 6:16Speaker 4: I just like can't believe it's happening.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, because by the time this episode comes out,
- 6:23Speaker 5: it will be banned.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I think is it this weekend?
- 6:26Speaker 3: I think so, but I I could be wrong. We
- 6:29Speaker 3: can we can check. But yeah, it's so interesting.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Well, by the time this comes out, I'll either be
- 6:34Speaker 1: right or wrong. I'm okay with either.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 5: So interested to see how TikTok changes, how Instagram changes,
- 6:42Speaker 5: and also if people pick up red note because I
- 6:44Speaker 5: haven't used, I haven't downloaded it yet, I'm sure it will,
- 6:48Speaker 5: but I've heard that it's quite conservative so in terms
- 6:51Speaker 5: of the types of content that you can promote, so
- 6:54Speaker 5: I'll be interested to see how people are able to
- 6:57Speaker 5: take their content that they usually would have posted on
- 6:59Speaker 5: TikTok over to the.
- 7:00Speaker 3: App if those rumors are true.
- 7:02Speaker 5: But a question that I wanted to ask you is
- 7:05Speaker 5: on TikTok, who is the US.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Based creator that you're going to miss the most?
- 7:11Speaker 4: Fuck the Basement Yard.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Yeah, mine would be Bretney Spears, Oh yes, and also
- 7:21Speaker 5: the Nitro bar who I've spoken about one in Rhode Island.
- 7:28Speaker 5: I've followed them both on Instagram. But I'll be so
- 7:32Speaker 5: interested to see if they do the exact same.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It just goes to show and the life lesson from
- 7:36Speaker 1: this is not to make it like boring, but it
- 7:39Speaker 1: is so important to diversify your income.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it is so.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Important to ensure that you have an emergency fund, that
- 7:46Speaker 1: you have multiple income streams, that you're not relying on
- 7:49Speaker 1: one thing.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Spicy crazy. All right, let's get into it.
- 7:59Speaker 1: We've breaken them down into three categories, products, lessons, and lifestyles.
- 8:05Speaker 1: So do you want to kick us off with the
- 8:08Speaker 1: number one most?
- 8:09Speaker 4: Oh, let's do honorable mentions first.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Actually, so these are the runner ups the Participation Awards,
- 8:16Speaker 1: if you will, honorable mentions of products that made people unrecognizable.
- 8:21Speaker 1: One was Akata and one comment. There was lots of
- 8:25Speaker 1: comments mentioning like Akatar and books and fantasy books.
- 8:28Speaker 4: I am biased, I am aware.
- 8:30Speaker 1: But one chick said ten k worth of hikes that
- 8:35Speaker 1: they she was able to get ten k worth of
- 8:37Speaker 1: hikes in with her shadow daddies encouraging her along.
- 8:41Speaker 4: I was like, oh, I love that daddy.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Literally, there's such a thing about like your like fantasy heroins,
- 8:49Speaker 1: like really pushing you while you're working out.
- 8:52Speaker 4: It's me, I am her.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Another one was peppermint Tea slaps Apps, fucking apps, fucking
- 8:58Speaker 1: Lily the Tummy tea from Tao. Love that yeah, and
- 9:05Speaker 1: then in Visi.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Line and the Ura ring.
- 9:08Speaker 3: All right, number one, the robo vac and the Dream
- 9:13Speaker 3: X forty.
- 9:14Speaker 1: This had three thousand, four hundred and sixteen likes.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I want one so bad, fucking bad.
- 9:22Speaker 3: But I'm like, do I need one?
- 9:24Speaker 4: Yes? I think I do. I think you do. I
- 9:26Speaker 4: think everyone needs one.
- 9:28Speaker 5: I just feel like it would make my life so
- 9:30Speaker 5: much easier. Like imagine coming home and your house has
- 9:33Speaker 5: already been vacuumed and moped.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Like, I can't even, I can't even honestly, I want
- 9:38Speaker 1: the one that has like both the vacuum and the mop,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and the one that has the little arms that come
- 9:43Speaker 1: out obsessed.
- 9:45Speaker 4: What would you call your robo vacuum.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Or I would call it DJ rumba star if anybody
- 9:55Speaker 3: remembers that episode.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Of Barks and rec turn out of ten. Yeah, great
- 9:58Speaker 4: work from you. However, they're really really.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Expensive, so Dream X forty is retailing at around twenty
- 10:06Speaker 1: two hundred dollars with tech it always goes up and
- 10:08Speaker 1: down depending on where you're shopping, which is a very,
- 10:13Speaker 1: very hefty investment. However, the fact that this has three
- 10:17Speaker 1: point four thousand likes and a lot of the replies
- 10:22Speaker 1: to this comment was that it was one hundred thousand
- 10:25Speaker 1: percent worth the investment, So I think we need to
- 10:28Speaker 1: put it to the test at some point.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I think I go back.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Okay, the next product recommendation, which I was not expecting
- 10:37Speaker 1: to see this was letting go of expensive hair products
- 10:41Speaker 1: to go back to Panteen and Laurel.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Wow.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Just that Well, yeah, you know, this has been a
- 10:49Speaker 1: very trending topic at the moment that we are seeing
- 10:53Speaker 1: the resurgence of Panteen, I know, and the fact that Panteen,
- 10:59Speaker 1: as most of you would probably know, I feel like
- 11:01Speaker 1: when we were growing up, there was this massive thing
- 11:04Speaker 1: about how pantein was actually really bad for your hair
- 11:07Speaker 1: because it contained silicon and I'm not sure what the
- 11:11Speaker 1: actual science of these ingredients is, and that it was
- 11:15Speaker 1: potentially just like a campaign from hairstylists and expensive brands
- 11:19Speaker 1: to encourage you to spend more on your haircare rather
- 11:23Speaker 1: than buying store bought Panteen and Laurel products. Yeah, that
- 11:28Speaker 1: there's even creators coming out that are using it and
- 11:33Speaker 1: saying that their hair has never ever felt better, one
- 11:36Speaker 1: including Jade Tuanci and Alex Earl.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Yeah, both have beautiful hair, both have beautiful.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Hair, So one of us needs to take one for
- 11:46Speaker 1: the tank, not should I?
- 11:49Speaker 3: So go on our phones. All right, we'll do an
- 11:54Speaker 3: ABA test. We could both do it because we have
- 11:57Speaker 3: very different.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yeah, hair texture, So I want to know if you
- 12:01Speaker 1: have switched back to using pantein.
- 12:04Speaker 4: What's the verdict? Like, yeah, is it the vibe?
- 12:07Speaker 3: Tell us in the comments please.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I need to know, or dm us on Instagram
- 12:12Speaker 1: because I am a big fan of Like we've always
- 12:16Speaker 1: said this, we're happy to spend a bit more on haircare.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I feel like that's probably the category that we definitely
- 12:23Speaker 1: splurge on.
- 12:24Speaker 5: I just go by what my hair has responded to
- 12:27Speaker 5: the best with and in the past it hasn't responded
- 12:31Speaker 5: the best to some of the more affordable products.
- 12:33Speaker 3: But I'm happy to be proven wrong. In this scenario.
- 12:38Speaker 4: We both use and we get this question a lot.
- 12:40Speaker 1: We both use the shampoo and conditioner from De Lorenzo,
- 12:44Speaker 1: And when you get the big bulk by size of them,
- 12:50Speaker 1: which you can get online, I think it's about fifty
- 12:53Speaker 1: dollars for the shampoo and fifty dollars for the conditioner,
- 12:57Speaker 1: so it is our hundred dollars, but you're getting like
- 13:00Speaker 1: isn't it like a liter? Yeah, which when you break
- 13:02Speaker 1: that down to like cost per unit, it actually is
- 13:05Speaker 1: very affordable. Yeah, like mine lasted. I think it lasted
- 13:09Speaker 1: nearly two years.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Woah.
- 13:10Speaker 4: It was either a year. It was either a year
- 13:13Speaker 4: or two year.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I think it was a year actually, And like I
- 13:16Speaker 1: do not skimp on the shampoo and condition when I'm
- 13:19Speaker 1: in the share, I'm like, give it to me.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Yeah, really, leather it up in there. Yeh.
- 13:22Speaker 4: And I love it.
- 13:24Speaker 1: So Yeah, maybe twenty twenty five is the year of
- 13:27Speaker 1: affordable haircare.
- 13:28Speaker 4: I'm scared.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I'm keen to be I'll be the guinea pig. Yeah, Okay.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Our next one, the Dove Gradual tanner. This one had
- 13:40Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of likes.
- 13:42Speaker 3: I used to use this in high school.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Really, what do you rate it?
- 13:46Speaker 1: Because it's ten dollars so definitely affordable.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I liked it at the time.
- 13:52Speaker 4: I thought it did a good job. Well, it's like
- 13:54Speaker 4: the color payoff? Is it like a warm ten?
- 13:58Speaker 3: The one that I was using the time.
- 14:00Speaker 5: And I will say this was a long time ago,
- 14:02Speaker 5: so the formula may have changed since the last time
- 14:05Speaker 5: I was using it, but it definitely was more of
- 14:07Speaker 5: a warm golden tan, which I liked.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Yeah. Wow.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It has four and a half stars on the Chemist
- 14:15Speaker 1: Warehouse website and all of them are really positives.
- 14:19Speaker 4: How good.
- 14:20Speaker 1: To be honest, I absolutely froth a gradual TN gradual
- 14:25Speaker 1: tan because it's just it makes your life easier. Yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 1: the whole process it moves and washing and the exfoliating.
- 14:34Speaker 4: You know what I mean, y'all know what I'm talking to,
- 14:35Speaker 4: be alright.
- 14:37Speaker 1: So moving into lifestyles that made people unrecognizable last year
- 14:44Speaker 1: honorable mentions. These ones are really good things that made
- 14:47Speaker 1: people unrecognizable in twenty twenty five, having a baby spinal surgery,
- 14:54Speaker 1: a nutrition coach in brackets healed my relationship with food.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Another one, well, I got a rested and in brackets
- 15:01Speaker 1: don't recommend. And I went to the comments being like
- 15:06Speaker 1: what did you do? But I couldn't find it, but
- 15:08Speaker 1: you did say like the charges got dropped, and I'm like, yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 1: but what what's the tea? Yeah?
- 15:12Speaker 4: I want the story time way to fucking leave me hanging.
- 15:16Speaker 4: It's edging and not in a fun way.
- 15:18Speaker 3: What a tease?
- 15:19Speaker 4: I what a tease? Honestly? And then lastly they've all
- 15:23Speaker 4: spade divorce, love that okay.
- 15:27Speaker 1: So number one lifestyle change that made someone unrecognizable in
- 15:33Speaker 1: twenty twenty four was a high protein breakfast and walking
- 15:36Speaker 1: one hour a day.
- 15:38Speaker 4: This had two zero point six thousand likes.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And I don't know about you, but my entire feed
- 15:45Speaker 1: became about high protein breakfasts and I find it really
- 15:50Speaker 1: really interesting, and I started making an effort to do
- 15:54Speaker 1: this within the last kind of like six months. I
- 15:57Speaker 1: would say, I don't I'm not necessarily the most consistent
- 16:00Speaker 1: with it, Like I'll be honest, but I definitely notice
- 16:03Speaker 1: a difference when I make an effort to make a
- 16:07Speaker 1: breakfast that has a higher protein in it.
- 16:10Speaker 4: And it's not about.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Looking a certain way or losing weight or anything like that.
- 16:15Speaker 4: It's more about the way.
- 16:16Speaker 1: That my brain functions, Like I'm just not as tired,
- 16:20Speaker 1: I'm more full, i feel more energetic. Like you know
- 16:23Speaker 1: how you get the three pm slump? Yeah, so the
- 16:26Speaker 1: three pm slump is actually due to your sugar levels
- 16:30Speaker 1: and how they like go up and down. So when
- 16:33Speaker 1: your sugar levels, I'm pretty sure when your sugar levels
- 16:35Speaker 1: are low, that's what is the three pm slump. But
- 16:39Speaker 1: when you have like high protein breakfasts and really nutritional food.
- 16:44Speaker 1: It means that that slump doesn't go as low like
- 16:46Speaker 1: you probably will still get.
- 16:48Speaker 4: A little bit tired, a little bit sleepy and do
- 16:49Speaker 4: you have to know, Yeah, but it just means that
- 16:52Speaker 4: it's not as hectic.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And I've definitely noticed that my three PM slump isn't
- 16:56Speaker 1: as like debilitating as it is.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Well, that explains why every single girly craves a Coke
- 17:03Speaker 5: zero and a sweet Tree three.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Yes, because the sweet tree she's picking your back in, yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 1: and the caffeine in the Coke zero.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Love it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: And the other thing was walking one hour. We got
- 17:14Speaker 1: a couple questions from the last episode about my new
- 17:17Speaker 1: walking pad, yes, which that should have been my obsession
- 17:21Speaker 1: at the start of the episode.
- 17:23Speaker 4: I fucking love this thing. It is the best.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Two hundred dollars. That's it, the best two hundred dollars
- 17:30Speaker 1: I've ever.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Spent in my entire life.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Like there are clothes more expensive than that, whereas like
- 17:37Speaker 1: this thing, I use it.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Every day and it's really really compact, Like it's super small.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I got one with a little stand on it, so
- 17:45Speaker 1: the stand kind of like flips up and I can
- 17:47Speaker 1: put my kindle on it.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Love that my ipatch.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Can you hold on to it?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, but if you pull it, it's going to
- 17:53Speaker 1: go down yep.
- 17:56Speaker 4: But yeah. So it's got a little like bar that
- 17:58Speaker 4: you can kind of put stuff on.
- 17:59Speaker 1: It's got a little that you can put the speed
- 18:02Speaker 1: up and all of that fun stuff. It tracks the time,
- 18:05Speaker 1: it tracks calories if that's what you want it to do.
- 18:07Speaker 4: And obsessed.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I have a goal that I would like to get,
- 18:12Speaker 1: like a certain amount of steps a day, and like
- 18:15Speaker 1: the other night I looked and I was like a
- 18:17Speaker 1: thousand away from that amount of steps. So I just
- 18:20Speaker 1: popped on it while watching Bloody Love Island.
- 18:23Speaker 5: Which is so perfect, especially if you work a desk job, yes,
- 18:27Speaker 5: or some sort of job where you're not being super
- 18:29Speaker 5: active and mobile during the day, because.
- 18:32Speaker 3: A lot of us don't want to go for a
- 18:33Speaker 3: walk late at night when it's.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Dark or it's pissing down with rain, which Sydney. Yeah,
- 18:41Speaker 1: I love it, so I'll link it in the description.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I got it on Amazon and yeah, I'm obsessed. Son's
- 18:49Speaker 1: coming over later today. I've left it out for you
- 18:52Speaker 1: to enjoy.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Srip. Yeah, I measure it.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I need to save it, get my tiny apartment and
- 18:57Speaker 3: I just.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Pop it under the bed and it's great.
- 19:00Speaker 5: Our next one the ten minute rule, which I absolutely
- 19:05Speaker 5: stand by. This got four point eight thousand likes. And
- 19:10Speaker 5: the ten minute rule is that if there's something that
- 19:12Speaker 5: you've been putting off, set a timer for ten minutes
- 19:15Speaker 5: and do the task.
- 19:17Speaker 3: And a lot of the time, by the time that timer.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Goes off, you've completed the task, or you're already into
- 19:24Speaker 5: the groove and you've got the motivation to complete the task.
- 19:27Speaker 5: But setting up that ten minute timer makes it seem
- 19:30Speaker 5: so much more achievable because it's only ten minutes, and
- 19:33Speaker 5: how often do you spend ten minutes scrolling on your
- 19:35Speaker 5: phone or just fucking around?
- 19:37Speaker 1: Now, don't be mean, okay.
- 19:40Speaker 4: But it's true. It's so true.
- 19:42Speaker 5: And this is something that I have implemented, and I
- 19:44Speaker 5: especially do this in my closing shift at the end
- 19:48Speaker 5: of every night because usually I'm so tired, but there's
- 19:51Speaker 5: a couple of things that I have to do around
- 19:52Speaker 5: my house that would make me feel so much more
- 19:55Speaker 5: relaxed away and prepared when I wake up. So I
- 19:57Speaker 5: set a ten minute timer and do those things. And
- 20:00Speaker 5: I've found that ten minute rule so helpful. So I'm
- 20:03Speaker 5: glad that a lot of other people have related to
- 20:05Speaker 5: it too.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It's also so good in terms of like getting up
- 20:08Speaker 1: and getting out, like if you're wanting to go to
- 20:10Speaker 1: the gym, for example, the hardest part is putting on
- 20:12Speaker 1: your active weren't actually leaving the house, Oh my god,
- 20:14Speaker 1: just set a ten minute timer, or like replying to
- 20:16Speaker 1: emails or setting up that appointment that you've been avoiding,
- 20:20Speaker 1: whatever it is that like you're procrastinating the ten minute rule.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Love it love a rule, love love a rule, love
- 20:28Speaker 4: a theory.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Okay, and then the final one is don't put it down,
- 20:35Speaker 1: put it away. This one had a whopping twenty two thousand,
- 20:40Speaker 1: eight hundred likes. So this means rather than putting something down,
- 20:46Speaker 1: you put it away.
- 20:47Speaker 4: When we introduce is, sal was like, I don't know
- 20:49Speaker 4: what that means.
- 20:49Speaker 1: And I'm going to explain to you why you don't
- 20:51Speaker 1: know what this means is because you actually put stuff away.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So for example, when you're coming home and you throw
- 20:59Speaker 1: your hand bag on the table, your keys go in
- 21:02Speaker 1: the kitchen, your shoes are off in the living room.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Rather than chucking your life around your apartment, it's you
- 21:10Speaker 1: put it away. So, for example, with your laundry rather
- 21:13Speaker 1: than you know, taking it out and putting it in
- 21:15Speaker 1: a basket that sits in the corner of your room
- 21:17Speaker 1: for seventeen thousand years. Me, you put it away, so
- 21:21Speaker 1: rather than putting things down wherever you are situated, they're
- 21:27Speaker 1: just going away And it saves you so much time.
- 21:30Speaker 1: The five seconds it takes you to put something away,
- 21:32Speaker 1: you're already halfway to the fucking.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Clean apartment and clean top.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you know.
- 21:37Speaker 5: And I think a big part of this is setting
- 21:39Speaker 5: up your space in ways that makes sense for you.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Yes, So if you do always just chuck your shoes at.
- 21:44Speaker 5: The front door, maybe set up like a little shoe
- 21:47Speaker 5: stand there or a shoe box where you can put.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Things in there.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Or if you're more likely to chuck your laundry on
- 21:53Speaker 5: your bedroom floor, put a laundry basket in a bedroom
- 21:57Speaker 5: and have it there, Like, Introduce things like that that
- 21:59Speaker 5: might be a little bit different to what you usually do,
- 22:02Speaker 5: but clearly that alliance with your lifestyle. Yeah, but that
- 22:06Speaker 5: will make you feel more organized and put together.
- 22:08Speaker 4: I love that. Yeah, it's good.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Hey, And onto our final category of how to become unrecognizable.
- 22:15Speaker 4: In twenty twenty five, we have the lessons.
- 22:19Speaker 1: So the first one, which we actually spoke about a
- 22:22Speaker 1: little bit last week, and this comment got thirteen point
- 22:28Speaker 1: three thousand likes, and it was the let them theory.
- 22:32Speaker 1: This was one of the first comments that was on
- 22:34Speaker 1: this video when I posted it, and it just was
- 22:37Speaker 1: like multiple, multiple people.
- 22:39Speaker 3: It's resonated with so many people.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's such a big thing that like, we
- 22:44Speaker 1: don't have time to even get into. However, we do
- 22:48Speaker 1: have an episode next week coming out on The Basic Bitch.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Book Club, which is a full recap of the book.
- 22:55Speaker 1: But to give like a little spiel because have you
- 22:58Speaker 1: seen much about it.
- 23:00Speaker 5: I think We've spoken about it on the pod, and
- 23:01Speaker 5: I've seen the original clip.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I haven't read any of her new books. So give
- 23:05Speaker 3: us the elevator pitch.
- 23:07Speaker 1: It's really interesting because obviously the top line of it
- 23:12Speaker 1: is whenever something is stressing you out, when someone's behaving
- 23:16Speaker 1: in a way, when adults are acting like children.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Basically the rhetoric is to just let them.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Like, if someone wants to be competitive with you, let them.
- 23:28Speaker 1: If someone wants to give you unsolicited advice or feedback,
- 23:32Speaker 1: let them, like absolutely release the emotion that can come
- 23:39Speaker 1: from toxic people or annoying situations and the whole kind
- 23:44Speaker 1: of essence of it. And again there's so many iterations
- 23:49Speaker 1: of it is identifying things you can control and can't control,
- 23:53Speaker 1: and this is like the most important thing you can
- 23:56Speaker 1: do in your life because there's actually two parts of
- 23:59Speaker 1: your brain running the show. And this was chapter three
- 24:04Speaker 1: in the book I Think Yes, And she's talking to
- 24:07Speaker 1: a doctor about the part of your brain that produces stress,
- 24:10Speaker 1: and it's actually a completely separate part. So the part
- 24:12Speaker 1: of your brain that's running the show majority of the
- 24:15Speaker 1: time when you're like good vibes slipping, is your frontal lobe.
- 24:19Speaker 4: And then there is a part of.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Your brain and I'm pretty sure I'm getting this word right,
- 24:23Speaker 1: called the amygdala. This is a part of your brain
- 24:26Speaker 1: that is fight flight or freeze, and this is your
- 24:28Speaker 1: stress response. So when you get stressed, you literally switch
- 24:34Speaker 1: the part of your brain that's running the show. And
- 24:37Speaker 1: she kind of goes into how the let them theory
- 24:40Speaker 1: can help you switch back, because if you are constantly
- 24:43Speaker 1: in a state of stress, it means that the part
- 24:46Speaker 1: of your brain that should be running the show, your
- 24:48Speaker 1: frontal lobe, isn't. And that's why you're having like knee
- 24:51Speaker 1: jerk reactions to situations and getting upset, or you're always irritated,
- 24:56Speaker 1: or your moods are swinging all over the place, it's
- 24:58Speaker 1: because you're in a fire flight or freeze response. A
- 25:01Speaker 1: lot of people in their stress, they have that freeze.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I'm one of the people that have a freeze. Like
- 25:06Speaker 1: if I'm really really overwhelmed, I'm not screaming, I'm not crying,
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'm not anything. I'm in bed staring at a wall
- 25:12Speaker 1: being like, there's actually no thought.
- 25:14Speaker 4: I'm just like frozen. Yeah, and it was just so interesting.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I could talk about this for ever, but yeah, I
- 25:21Speaker 1: can completely see why this was one of the most
- 25:24Speaker 1: popular things. And she was saying, once you're aware of
- 25:27Speaker 1: the way that your brain can switch into your stress
- 25:31Speaker 1: mode using this theory, or maybe you find other anchor
- 25:35Speaker 1: terms that help pull you out of it, but having
- 25:37Speaker 1: something to say to yourself such as let them or
- 25:40Speaker 1: whatever you want it to be, help switch your brain
- 25:43Speaker 1: back to using your frontal lobe rather than the stress
- 25:47Speaker 1: part of your brain, which I was like, yes, I
- 25:49Speaker 1: love it.
- 25:50Speaker 3: I love that. Yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Empowering and a good reminder that you can't control people's
- 25:55Speaker 5: emotions or actions, but you can have some control on
- 25:58Speaker 5: how you respond to that.
- 26:00Speaker 1: It's not your responsibility to control other adults behavior. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:05Speaker 1: it's amazing, turn out of ten.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Lovet into it. Okay.
- 26:10Speaker 5: Our next lesson, which I absolutely love, is use pretty
- 26:15Speaker 5: things instead of saving them for a special moment. And
- 26:19Speaker 5: this got twenty one point nine thousand likes because haven't
- 26:24Speaker 5: we all done that?
- 26:25Speaker 4: Oh my god?
- 26:25Speaker 5: Yeah, you invest or buy something really special, maybe it
- 26:29Speaker 5: was expensive, maybe it was a splurge, and then you're
- 26:31Speaker 5: too scared to use it because you don't want to
- 26:33Speaker 5: ruin it or lose it or.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Have something happen to it.
- 26:37Speaker 5: But it's literally like that scene and Home Alone too,
- 26:40Speaker 5: and he talks about his roll of skates that he
- 26:43Speaker 5: was too scared to use because he didn't want to
- 26:45Speaker 5: damage them, and then by the time he was ready
- 26:47Speaker 5: to use them, they didn't fit anymore.
- 26:49Speaker 3: And we've all been there.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Use the pretty thing, use the pretty things.
- 26:54Speaker 1: You're pretty, pretty people, use pretty things, and everyone's fucking pretty.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Yeah, right in the real pretty journal.
- 27:01Speaker 5: Yes, wear the beautiful shoes, wear the amazing dress, use
- 27:06Speaker 5: the pretty things, use freed of things.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 27:10Speaker 1: And our last one, which I think I've said this
- 27:14Speaker 1: is my favorite one seven times this episode, but this
- 27:18Speaker 1: truly is my favorite one. That if you take one
- 27:21Speaker 1: life lesson away from this episode, I want it to
- 27:23Speaker 1: be this one, and it's that if you stress too
- 27:26Speaker 1: much about something before it happens, you basically put yourself
- 27:30Speaker 1: through it twice the way that this is the realest
- 27:34Speaker 1: thing in the entire world. I feel it in my soul,
- 27:37Speaker 1: and you know what, twenty two point nine thousand other
- 27:40Speaker 1: people also felt this, because that's how many likes this
- 27:43Speaker 1: comment had. And do you know what's so real about
- 27:46Speaker 1: it is a couple episodes ago, we shared a statistic
- 27:49Speaker 1: and it was that eighty five percent of the things
- 27:52Speaker 1: that you worry about never happen, but you'll you're putting
- 27:56Speaker 1: yourself through it. You're literally creating a fake scenario that
- 28:02Speaker 1: isn't even real.
- 28:03Speaker 4: And then the other.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Side of that statistic was the fifteen percent of people
- 28:08Speaker 1: that it did happen to majority actually handled it better
- 28:12Speaker 1: than they thought they would. So there is no point
- 28:17Speaker 1: stressing until it actually happens. And even when it does happen,
- 28:21Speaker 1: you're better off for it. You learn something else about it.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And obviously there are some things that at the end
- 28:26Speaker 1: of the day are just going to be fucking horrible.
- 28:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and there's no silver lining or life lesson to
- 28:31Speaker 5: be pulled exactly, But why put yourself.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Through it twice? Yeah?
- 28:35Speaker 1: If it happens, it happens, and you will be able
- 28:37Speaker 1: to navigate through it. Okay, honorable mentions, letting friends who
- 28:42Speaker 1: aren't really friends go saying no and following clean talk Absolutely.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I love clean doc.
- 28:50Speaker 1: The follow up to this was, like, I've found so
- 28:53Speaker 1: many amazing and affordable ways to clean and products and
- 28:58Speaker 1: things that have just made people's life easier and their
- 29:00Speaker 1: space cleaner, and clean space equals clean mind.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Cleanliness is next to godliness.
- 29:05Speaker 4: As I like to say, did you get that from
- 29:08Speaker 4: your mum?
- 29:08Speaker 3: It's from a Smashing Pumpkins song. Sing also raised me
- 29:14Speaker 3: just as sequeally.
- 29:17Speaker 1: On that note, should we get into assage Smashing Pumpkins
- 29:21Speaker 1: same thing.
- 29:30Speaker 3: Hey, chicks hotline.
- 29:31Speaker 5: I've finally hit the point in my life where I'm
- 29:33Speaker 5: accepting being alone and I'm loving it. I've always been
- 29:37Speaker 5: someone who needs another person slash companion, and this year
- 29:40Speaker 5: it really hit me that I feel so good not
- 29:43Speaker 5: having anyone else to give my energy to and I
- 29:45Speaker 5: can spend my time on myself. With this, I've become
- 29:48Speaker 5: such a happier and bubblier person. However, I seem to
- 29:53Speaker 5: be attracting guys that are wanting to settle down, and
- 29:57Speaker 5: some people have told me that it's because I've got
- 29:59Speaker 5: this attitude that they find attractive that they are looking
- 30:03Speaker 5: for something more with me.
- 30:06Speaker 4: Just too hot. Yeah.
- 30:08Speaker 3: I've also been told that guys may take my bubbliness
- 30:11Speaker 3: as flirting. Ah that of Jesna.
- 30:15Speaker 5: I hate being confrontational and I'm not so good with
- 30:18Speaker 5: being open about feeling so I'm really struggling to tell
- 30:20Speaker 5: these guys that I'm not interested in them in a
- 30:22Speaker 5: dating aspect without ghosting or hurting them. Do you have
- 30:26Speaker 5: any advice on how I should approach them? Should I
- 30:28Speaker 5: stop being so bubbly so they don't take it the
- 30:30Speaker 5: wrong way? Am I the problem because I can't be
- 30:33Speaker 5: honest with them. I feel like anything I say will
- 30:36Speaker 5: hurt them, as they think I'm leading them on when
- 30:38Speaker 5: I'm actually just being me. I'm also quite open about
- 30:43Speaker 5: how I'm enjoying being single and not wanting a relationship,
- 30:46Speaker 5: but some guys don't seem to listen to that either.
- 30:50Speaker 4: I love you guys.
- 30:51Speaker 3: You're an inspiration and I appreciate everything you do.
- 30:55Speaker 1: One I want to start with that has literally put
- 30:59Speaker 1: me in the best moody and I'm so fucking happy
- 31:04Speaker 1: that has brought me so much joy. Thank you so
- 31:07Speaker 1: much for sharing that with us, Like I can kick
- 31:08Speaker 1: a door if it's hinges for you, like like, sorry,
- 31:12Speaker 1: honestly so proud of you, yet so proud of you,
- 31:14Speaker 1: And you know what, that just goes to show all
- 31:16Speaker 1: the hard work you've done to get to that point
- 31:19Speaker 1: has paid off.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Like so so so fucking proud of you.
- 31:22Speaker 1: In terms of this, there is only so much you
- 31:25Speaker 1: can do to be honest, and I completely understand you
- 31:28Speaker 1: want to like not hurt anyone's feelings and you want
- 31:31Speaker 1: to be respectful and you don't want to lead them on.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I think off the bat, like, as soon as you
- 31:36Speaker 1: get a whiff of someone being romantically interested in you,
- 31:39Speaker 1: it's just setting the boundary of being like, I just
- 31:41Speaker 1: want to let you know I'm not actually looking for
- 31:43Speaker 1: anything serious right now, and if you are, then.
- 31:45Speaker 4: We probably don't align in spending time together. And it's
- 31:49Speaker 4: as simple as that. I think.
- 31:51Speaker 1: The only note that I would say to This is
- 31:54Speaker 1: ensuring that your actions align with that, because sometimes people
- 32:00Speaker 1: just won't listen to what you're saying if like the
- 32:03Speaker 1: actions aren't meeting that. And I'm not saying that that's
- 32:06Speaker 1: what you're you're doing either, like you're just being bubbly
- 32:09Speaker 1: and just doing that. But I mean it more in
- 32:11Speaker 1: the instance of like we've had girls writing, you know,
- 32:15Speaker 1: with people that they were dating before and they were
- 32:16Speaker 1: like he says he doesn't want anything serious, and then
- 32:19Speaker 1: they hang out like five times a week and go
- 32:22Speaker 1: on dates and he treats her like his girlfriend. That's
- 32:25Speaker 1: what I mean by like making sure the actions line
- 32:27Speaker 1: up with what you're saying, which I'm sure she is doing,
- 32:30Speaker 1: like she's just enjoying her space and being bubbly and
- 32:32Speaker 1: actually just slaying the fucking game.
- 32:34Speaker 4: Yeah, ten out of ten.
- 32:36Speaker 1: That's all you can do. Don't change your personality. You're
- 32:39Speaker 1: not the fucking problem. Like that is what happens though.
- 32:42Speaker 1: When you work on yourself and you are positive, you
- 32:46Speaker 1: become magnetic. People get addicted to positive energy and they
- 32:51Speaker 1: want to be around that more and that's a good thing.
- 32:54Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're not gonna hurt anyone's feelings by being
- 32:57Speaker 1: honest with them.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I honestly think that you're going to hurt somebody
- 33:01Speaker 5: less if you cut it off and just let them
- 33:04Speaker 5: know how you feel. Because I think another thing that
- 33:08Speaker 5: kind of works into this scenario is that sometimes you'll
- 33:12Speaker 5: tell someone I'm not looking for anything serious, and they're like, oh, yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Me neither.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Yeah, but I can change her.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Yeah, but their actions also don't reflect that.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Yeah, even if they say, yeah, that's so fine, but
- 33:24Speaker 5: then they're continuing to pursue you as something more serious.
- 33:28Speaker 3: You might be better off in that situation just.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Completely taking a step back.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Yeah, taking a step back and calling it quits. And
- 33:34Speaker 5: I think you don't have to go some It doesn't
- 33:36Speaker 5: have to be a big thing, but it can just be.
- 33:39Speaker 3: I don't think that we're gonna work together. I still
- 33:41Speaker 3: want to.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Spend more time on my own and focusing all my
- 33:45Speaker 5: energy on myself and just ending it there, because I
- 33:48Speaker 5: think sometimes people want to believe that, oh no, I'm cool,
- 33:52Speaker 5: I'm so cool, I'm fine just keeping these things, and
- 33:56Speaker 5: they're in love with.
- 33:57Speaker 4: You and you can't help that.
- 34:01Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, yeah, I think don't dim your shine.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Oh your heart, babe, you'r hot, you're heart.
- 34:07Speaker 4: That's all we have to start talking. Yeah hot, govind
- 34:11Speaker 4: all right, ten out of ten, slay the game. You're
- 34:13Speaker 4: not doing anything wrong.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Keep being a bubbly self and keep enjoying your single
- 34:17Speaker 1: life because who knows what's going to happen.
- 34:20Speaker 4: You might meet the love of your life in two
- 34:21Speaker 4: years and you'll be like.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Oh fuck, I should have enjoyed myself more so, don't
- 34:25Speaker 1: feel guilty for loving who you are, because there's not
- 34:29Speaker 1: enough time in the fucking world for that.
- 34:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 5: And on that note, if you chicks want to send
- 34:34Speaker 5: something into Advice with the Chicks, you can send it
- 34:36Speaker 5: into the Chicks Hotline.
- 34:38Speaker 3: We'll put the number in the show notes. Send a
