  only
• 0:37
  UFOs
• 0:37
  in

  and,
• 0:41
  well,
• 0:42
  Unidentified
• 0:42
  Aerial
• 0:43
  Phenomena.
• 0:43
  I
• 0:44
  think
• 0:44
  that's
• 0:44
  what
• 0:44
  they
• 0:44
  use
• 0:44
  it
• 0:44
  for.
• 0:45
  That's
• 0:45
  right.
• 0:45
  I
• 0:45
  thought
• 0:45
  it
• 0:45
  was
• 0:46
  anomalous.
• 0:46
  I
• 0:47
  think
• 0:47
  it
• 0:47
  can
• 0:47
  be
• 0:47
  either.
• 0:48
  It's

  true.
• 1:17
  I

  you've

  I

  And
• 1:36
  you're
• 1:36
  a
• 1:36
  hell
• 1:36
  of
• 1:36
  a
• 1:37
  drone
• 1:37

• 1:37
  too.
• 1:38
  Thank
• 1:38
  you.
• 1:38
  Yeah,
• 1:39
  I
• 1:39
  did
• 1:39
  some
• 1:39
  drone
• 1:39
  work
• 1:39
  for
• 1:39
  you
• 1:40
  and
• 1:40
  Chris
• 1:40
  for
• 1:40
  a
• 1:41
  documentary
• 1:41
  you
• 1:41
  were
• 1:41
  working
• 1:42
  on.
• 1:42
  And
• 1:42
  that's
• 1:42
  how
• 1:42
  we
• 1:42
  met.
• 1:43
  Yes.
• 1:43
  Chris
• 1:43
  o'.
• 1:43
  Brien.
• 1:44
  Chris
• 1:44
  o'.
• 1:44
  Brien.
• 1:44
  The
• 1:45
  late,

  great
• 1:45

• 1:45
  o'.
• 1:46
  Brien.
• 1:46
  Chris
• 1:46
  o',
• 1:46
  Brien,
• 1:46
  yes.
• 1:47
  Yeah.
• 1:47
  And
• 1:48
  he's
• 1:48
  known,
• 1:48
  of
• 1:48
  course,
• 1:49
  for
• 1:49
  probably
• 1:49
  one
• 1:49
  of
• 1:49
  the
• 1:50
  leading
• 1:50
  experts
• 1:50
  on

• 1:54
  Where's

  the

• 1:54
  He
• 1:55
  lived

  in

• 1:56

• 1:58
  Colorado,
• 1:59
  not
• 1:59
  far
• 2:00
  from
• 2:00
  the
• 2:00
  area
• 2:00
  of
• 2:01
  New
• 2:01
  Mexico
• 2:01
  that
• 2:01
  we're
• 2:01
  going
• 2:01
  to
• 2:02
  talk
• 2:02
  about
• 2:02
  today,
• 2:03
  which
• 2:03
  is
• 2:04
  a
• 2:04
  concentration
• 2:05
  of
• 2:05
  high
• 2:05
  weirdness
• 2:06
  in
• 2:06
  Colorado
• 2:07
  by
• 2:07
  the
• 2:07
  Great
• 2:07
  Sand
• 2:08
  Dunes
• 2:08

  Park.
• 2:09
  But
• 2:09
  south
• 2:10
  of
• 2:10
  there,
• 2:10
  near
• 2:11
  Albuquerque,
• 2:11
  is
• 2:12
  what
• 2:12
  we're
• 2:12
  going
• 2:12
  to
• 2:12
  talk
• 2:12
  about
• 2:13
  today,
• 2:13
  a
• 2:13
  book
• 2:14
  you
• 2:14
  wrote
• 2:14
  about
• 2:14
  a
• 2:14
  gentleman
• 2:15
  named
• 2:15
  Paul
• 2:15
  Benowitz.
• 2:16
  The
• 2:17
  thing
• 2:17
  that
• 2:17
  attracts
• 2:17
  me
• 2:18
  to
• 2:18
  the
• 2:18
  subject
• 2:18
  matter
• 2:18
  is
• 2:18
  not
• 2:19
  so
• 2:19
  much
• 2:19
  what
• 2:19
  it
• 2:19
  is
• 2:19
  where
• 2:20
  they're
• 2:20
  from.
• 2:20
  I
• 2:20
  don't
• 2:20
  think
• 2:20
  that's
• 2:21
  necessarily
• 2:21
  knowable.
• 2:22
  But
• 2:23
  what
• 2:23
  I
• 2:23
  do
• 2:23
  find
• 2:24
  fascinating
• 2:25
  is
• 2:25
  how
• 2:25
  it
• 2:25
  reflects
• 2:26
  on
• 2:26
  the
• 2:26
  consciousness
• 2:26
  of
• 2:27
  people
• 2:27
  and
• 2:27
  how
• 2:27
  it
• 2:27
  triggers
• 2:28
  them.
• 2:28
  It's
• 2:29
  a
• 2:29
  very
• 2:29
  psychoactive
• 2:30
  subject
• 2:30
  matter
• 2:31
  because
• 2:31
  it's
• 2:31
  about
• 2:32
  the
• 2:32
  unknown.
• 2:33
  Our
• 2:33
  interaction
• 2:34
  with
• 2:34
  it,
• 2:34
  I
• 2:34
  think,
• 2:34
  is
• 2:35
  what
• 2:35
  it
• 2:35
  is.
• 2:36
  We
• 2:36
  have
• 2:36
  no
• 2:37
  way
• 2:37
  of
• 2:37
  knowing
• 2:37
  what
• 2:37
  the
• 2:38
  source
• 2:38
  of
• 2:38
  this
• 2:38
  is,
• 2:39
  except
• 2:39
  that
• 2:39
  it
• 2:39
  appears
• 2:40
  to
• 2:40
  be
• 2:40
  intelligent
• 2:41
  and
• 2:41
  it
• 2:41
  appears
• 2:42
  to
• 2:42
  interact
• 2:42
  with
• 2:43
  us
• 2:43
  occasionally,
• 2:43
  either
• 2:44
  lightly
• 2:44
  when
• 2:44
  somebody
• 2:45
  sees
• 2:45
  something
• 2:45
  flying
• 2:45
  through
• 2:46
  the
• 2:46
  air,
• 2:46
  or
• 2:46
  a
• 2:47
  lot
• 2:47
  less
• 2:47
  lightly
• 2:47
  when
• 2:48
  somebody
• 2:48
  has
• 2:48
  something
• 2:49
  in
• 2:49
  their
• 2:49
  room
• 2:49
  or
• 2:50
  something
• 2:50
  apparently
• 2:50
  taking
• 2:50
  them
• 2:51
  away
• 2:51
  or
• 2:51
  whatever.
• 2:52
  Something
• 2:52
  in
• 2:52
  their
• 2:52
  mind.
• 2:53
  My
• 2:53
  most
• 2:53
  memorable
• 2:54
  encounter
• 2:54
  with
• 2:55
  alien
• 2:56
  consciousness
• 2:56
  was
• 2:57
  in
• 2:57
  a
• 2:57
  dream.
• 2:58
  And
• 2:58
  I
• 2:59
  was
• 2:59
  talking
• 2:59
  with
• 3:00
  this
• 3:00
  alien
• 3:01
  on
• 3:02
  board
• 3:02
  the
• 3:02
  ship,
• 3:03
  and.
• 3:03
  And
• 3:04
  I
• 3:04
  realized
• 3:04
  we
• 3:05
  were
• 3:05
  communicating
• 3:06
  telepathically.
• 3:07
  And
• 3:08
  I
• 3:08
  said
• 3:09
  to
• 3:09
  him,
• 3:09
  telepathically,
• 3:10
  why
• 3:10
  don't
• 3:10
  you
• 3:10
  show
• 3:10
  me
• 3:10
  what
• 3:11
  you
• 3:11
  really
• 3:11
  look
• 3:11
  like?
• 3:11
  Cause
• 3:12
  he
• 3:12
  looked,
• 3:12
  you
• 3:12
  know,
• 3:12
  a
• 3:12
  human
• 3:13
  being,
• 3:13
  and
• 3:14
  he
• 3:14
  released
• 3:15
  the
• 3:15
  shield
• 3:16
  on
• 3:16
  his
• 3:16
  face
• 3:17
  or
• 3:17
  the
• 3:17
  projection
• 3:18
  he
• 3:18
  was
• 3:18
  doing
• 3:18
  to
• 3:18
  my
• 3:18
  mind.
• 3:19
  And
• 3:19
  I
• 3:19
  saw
• 3:19
  an
• 3:20
  alien
• 3:20
  and
• 3:20
  I
• 3:20
  went,
• 3:20
  oh,
• 3:21
  okay,
• 3:21
  cool.
• 3:21
  You
• 3:22
  know,
• 3:22
  thanks.
• 3:22
  You
• 3:22
  know,
• 3:22
  thank
• 3:23
  God.
• 3:23
  Phil,
• 3:24
  you've
• 3:24
  never
• 3:24
  told
• 3:25
  me
• 3:25
  that.
• 3:25
  No,
• 3:25
  I
• 3:25
  know.
• 3:26
  Well,
• 3:26
  this
• 3:26
  seemed
• 3:26
  like
• 3:26
  an
• 3:27
  appropriate
• 3:27
  time
• 3:28
  to
• 3:28
  do
• 3:28
  it.
• 3:28
  But
• 3:28
  the
• 3:29
  manifestation
• 3:30
  that
• 3:30
  I've
• 3:30
  had,
• 3:30
  which
• 3:31
  I
• 3:31
  talked
• 3:31
  to
• 3:32
  who
• 3:32
  is
• 3:32
  our
• 3:32
  Whitley
• 3:33
  Strieber.
• 3:33
  Yeah,
• 3:33
  Whitley
• 3:34
  Strieber.
• 3:34
  We
• 3:34
  had
• 3:34
  him
• 3:34
  on
• 3:35
  just
• 3:35
  recently,
• 3:35
  was.
• 3:36
  I'm
• 3:36
  one
• 3:36
  of
• 3:36
  the
• 3:36
  streetlight
• 3:37
  people.
• 3:38
  Lights
• 3:39
  going
• 3:39
  on
• 3:39
  and
• 3:39
  off.
• 3:39
  Yeah.
• 3:40
  There's
• 3:40
  a
• 3:40
  book
• 3:40
  about
• 3:40
  that
• 3:41
  called
• 3:41
  Sliders,
• 3:41
  I
• 3:42
  think.
• 3:42
  Is
• 3:42
  that
• 3:42
  right?
• 3:42
  Yeah.
• 3:43
  Oh,
• 3:43
  look
• 3:43
  it
• 3:44
  up.
• 3:44
  A
• 3:45
  whole
• 3:45
  book
• 3:45
  written
• 3:45
  just
• 3:46
  about
• 3:46
  people
• 3:46
  who
• 3:47
  would
• 3:47
  turn
• 3:47
  off
• 3:47
  streetlights.
• 3:48
  But
• 3:48
  he
• 3:48
  also
• 3:48
  would
• 3:49
  say,
• 3:49
  I
• 3:49
  also
• 3:49
  find
• 3:50
  pennies
• 3:50
  all
• 3:50
  the
• 3:50
  time.
• 3:51
  Yes.
• 3:51
  And
• 3:52
  Peter
• 3:52
  Bergman,
• 3:52
  his
• 3:53
  partner.
• 3:53
  Proctor
• 3:54
  and
• 3:54
  Bergman.
• 3:54
  Pete
• 3:55
  and
• 3:55
  I
• 3:55
  were
• 3:55
  also
• 3:55
  partners.
• 3:56
  The
• 3:56
  three
• 3:56
  of
• 3:56
  us
• 3:56
  were
• 3:56
  partners.
• 3:56
  I
• 3:57
  found
• 3:57
  coins.
• 3:57
  It
• 3:57
  wasn't
• 3:57
  just
• 3:57
  pennies.
• 3:58
  Well,
• 3:58
  you
• 3:58
  know,
• 3:58
  I
• 3:58
  was
• 3:59
  making
• 3:59
  a
• 3:59
  fortune.
• 3:59
  Sometimes
• 4:00
  Pete
• 4:00
  and
• 4:00
  I
• 4:00
  would
• 4:00
  walk
• 4:01
  ahead
• 4:02
  and
• 4:02
  throw
• 4:02
  a
• 4:02
  couple
• 4:02
  of
• 4:03
  pennies
• 4:03
  down.
• 4:04
  Like,
• 4:04
  look,
• 4:04
  look,
• 4:05
  guys,
• 4:05
  I
• 4:05
  found
• 4:06
  a
• 4:06
  penny.
• 4:06
  That's
• 4:07
  true.
• 4:07
  They
• 4:08
  completely
• 4:08
  bamboozled
• 4:09
  me.
• 4:10
  You
• 4:10
  wrote
• 4:10
  a
• 4:10
  book
• 4:10
  about
• 4:10
  this
• 4:11
  gentleman
• 4:11
  named
• 4:11
  Paul
• 4:12
  Benowitz,
• 4:12
  and
• 4:13
  we
• 4:14
  want
• 4:14
  to
• 4:14
  talk
• 4:14
  about
• 4:14
  it
• 4:14
  because
• 4:15
  it's
• 4:15
  like
• 4:16
  the
• 4:16
  perfect
• 4:16
  example
• 4:17
  of
• 4:18
  this
• 4:19
  region
• 4:19
  between
• 4:20
  human
• 4:20
  consciousness
• 4:21
  and
• 4:21
  whatever
• 4:21
  this
• 4:21
  energy
• 4:22
  intelligence
• 4:23
  is
• 4:23
  and
• 4:23
  how
• 4:23
  it
• 4:23
  reflects
• 4:24
  on
• 4:24
  human
• 4:24
  consciousness,
• 4:25
  whether
• 4:25
  it's
• 4:25
  an
• 4:26
  extension
• 4:26
  of
• 4:26
  human
• 4:26
  consciousness
• 4:27
  or
• 4:27
  it's
• 4:28
  an
• 4:28
  actual
• 4:28
  external,
• 4:29
  intelligent
• 4:29
  form.
• 4:30
  Energy.
• 4:30
  Yes,
• 4:31
  to
• 4:31
  both,
• 4:32
  right?
• 4:32
  Yeah.
• 4:33
  It
• 4:33
  tends
• 4:33
  to
• 4:34
  attract
• 4:35
  fringe,
• 4:36
  excitable
• 4:37
  people,
• 4:37
  some
• 4:37
  people
• 4:37
  that
• 4:38
  are
• 4:38
  prone
• 4:38
  to
• 4:39
  fantasy
• 4:39
  and
• 4:40
  hallucinations.
• 4:42
  And
• 4:42
  it
• 4:42
  has
• 4:42
  been
• 4:42
  exploited
• 4:43
  by
• 4:43
  the
• 4:43
  US
• 4:44
  government,
• 4:45
  probably
• 4:45
  other
• 4:45
  governments
• 4:46
  as
• 4:46
  well,
• 4:46
  in
• 4:46
  an
• 4:46
  effort
• 4:47
  to
• 4:47
  cover
• 4:47
  up
• 4:48
  covert
• 4:49
  military
• 4:50
  development
• 4:50
  of
• 4:51
  flying
• 4:51
  aircraft.
• 4:52
  And
• 4:53
  when
• 4:53
  people
• 4:53
  see
• 4:54
  this
• 4:54
  aircraft,
• 4:54
  like
• 4:55
  the
• 4:55
  Stealth
• 4:55
  bomber,
• 4:55
  before
• 4:56
  it
• 4:56
  was
• 4:56
  announced,
• 4:56
  it
• 4:57
  was
• 4:57
  convenient
• 4:57
  for
• 4:57
  people
• 4:57
  to
• 4:58
  say
• 4:58
  it
• 4:59
  was
• 4:59
  a
• 4:59
  ufo.
• 4:59
  I've
• 4:59
  never
• 5:00
  seen
• 5:00
  anything
• 5:00
  like
• 5:00
  it.
• 5:00
  And
• 5:00
  the
• 5:00
  government
• 5:01
  would
• 5:01
  actually.
• 5:02
  Yeah,
• 5:02
  it
• 5:02
  was
• 5:02
  an
• 5:02
  unidentified
• 5:03
  flying
• 5:03
  object
• 5:04
  because
• 5:04
  we
• 5:05
  don't
• 5:05
  want
• 5:05
  you
• 5:05
  to
• 5:05
  know
• 5:05
  what
• 5:05
  it
• 5:05
  is.
• 5:06
  This
• 5:06
  has
• 5:06
  been
• 5:07
  the
• 5:07
  case
• 5:07
  in
• 5:07
  many
• 5:08
  situations
• 5:08
  over
• 5:09
  the
• 5:09
  years,
• 5:09
  just
• 5:09
  as
• 5:09
  a
• 5:10
  covert
• 5:10
  device.
• 5:11
  Yeah,
• 5:11
  I
• 5:11
  actually
• 5:12
  got
• 5:12
  a
• 5:12
  good
• 5:12
  story
• 5:12
  about
• 5:13
  that
• 5:13
  when
• 5:13
  you're
• 5:13
  done.
• 5:13
  All
• 5:14
  right.
• 5:14
  Benowitz.
• 5:15
  He'll
• 5:15
  never
• 5:15
  be
• 5:15
  done.
• 5:15
  Yeah,
• 5:16
  I'll
• 5:16
  never
• 5:16
  be
• 5:16
  done.
• 5:17
  Good.
• 5:17
  Benowitz
• 5:18
  was
• 5:18
  somebody
• 5:19
  who
• 5:19
  fell
• 5:19
  into
• 5:20
  that
• 5:20
  trap
• 5:21
  in
• 5:21
  such
• 5:21
  a
• 5:22
  remarkably
• 5:23
  weird
• 5:24
  way.
• 5:24
  That's
• 5:25
  what
• 5:25
  we're
• 5:25
  going
• 5:25
  to
• 5:25
  talk
• 5:25
  about.
• 5:26
  You
• 5:27
  wrote
• 5:27
  a
• 5:27
  whole
• 5:27
  book.
• 5:27
  It
• 5:27
  drove
• 5:28
  him
• 5:28
  insane.
• 5:29
  He
• 5:29
  was
• 5:29
  helped
• 5:29
  along
• 5:30
  the
• 5:30
  way
• 5:30
  by
• 5:30
  disinformation
• 5:31
  agents
• 5:32
  that
• 5:32
  were
• 5:32
  propped
• 5:33
  up
• 5:33
  by
• 5:34
  the
• 5:34
  government,
• 5:34
  the
• 5:35
  military.
• 5:35
  Yeah.
• 5:35
  It
• 5:35
  even
• 5:36
  seems
• 5:36
  from
• 5:37
  the
• 5:37
  story
• 5:37
  that
• 5:37
  you
• 5:37
  tell
• 5:38
  in
• 5:38
  the
• 5:38
  book
• 5:38
  that
• 5:39
  they
• 5:39
  were
• 5:39
  using
• 5:40
  this
• 5:40
  poor
• 5:41
  guy
• 5:41
  as
• 5:42
  a
• 5:42
  way
• 5:42
  to
• 5:43
  experiment
• 5:44
  with
• 5:45
  the
• 5:45
  effects
• 5:45
  of
• 5:46
  disinformation.
• 5:47
  Right.
• 5:48
  And
• 5:48
  cover
• 5:48
  up.
• 5:49
  I
• 5:49
  don't
• 5:50
  know.
• 5:50
  I
• 5:50
  don't
• 5:51
  know
• 5:51
  if
• 5:51
  that
• 5:51
  happened.
• 5:53
  Totally
• 5:53
  possible.
• 5:55
  I'm
• 5:55
  not
• 5:55
  downplaying
• 5:56
  what
• 5:56
  happened
• 5:57
  to
• 5:57
  poor
• 5:57
  Paul
• 5:57
  Benowitz.
• 5:58
  I
• 5:58
  think
• 5:58
  his
• 5:58
  life
• 5:59
  was
• 5:59
  shortened
• 5:59
  by
• 6:00
  this
• 6:00
  because
• 6:00
  of
• 6:02
  the
• 6:02
  stress.
• 6:04
  But
• 6:04
  as
• 6:05
  Ted
• 6:05
  said,
• 6:06
  it
• 6:07
  attracts
• 6:07
  people
• 6:08
  that
• 6:08
  are.
• 6:08
  Because
• 6:08
  it's
• 6:09
  such
• 6:09
  a
• 6:09
  subject
• 6:09
  that's
• 6:10
  not
• 6:10
  accepted
• 6:10
  or
• 6:10
  used
• 6:11
  to
• 6:11
  be
• 6:11
  a
• 6:11
  lot
• 6:12
  less
• 6:12
  accepted,
• 6:13
  people
• 6:13
  that
• 6:14
  are
• 6:14
  in
• 6:15
  different
• 6:15
  areas
• 6:15
  of
• 6:15
  reality
• 6:16
  than
• 6:16
  most
• 6:17
  people,
• 6:17
  the
• 6:17
  consensus
• 6:18
  reality,
• 6:18
  are
• 6:18
  going
• 6:19
  to
• 6:19
  latch
• 6:19
  onto
• 6:19
  it.
• 6:20
  And
• 6:20
  my,
• 6:21
  you
• 6:21
  know,
• 6:21
  my
• 6:21
  little
• 6:22
  quip
• 6:23
  about
• 6:23
  that
• 6:23
  is
• 6:23
  if
• 6:24
  you've
• 6:24
  got
• 6:24
  a
• 6:24
  loose
• 6:25
  piece
• 6:25
  of
• 6:25
  string
• 6:25
  on
• 6:26
  your
• 6:26
  mental
• 6:26
  sweater,
• 6:27
  the
• 6:27
  UFO
• 6:27
  will
• 6:28
  grab
• 6:28
  it
• 6:28
  and
• 6:28
  just
• 6:28
  unravel
• 6:29
  it.
• 6:29
  If
• 6:29
  you
• 6:29
  like
• 6:30
  metaphor.
• 6:30
  Yeah.
• 6:31
  It'll
• 6:31
  unravel
• 6:32
  my
• 6:32
  mental
• 6:33
  sweater.
• 6:33
  Yes.
• 6:34
  Well,
• 6:34
  the
• 6:34
  fabric
• 6:35
  of
• 6:35
  your
• 6:36
  sanity
• 6:36
  will
• 6:36
  be
• 6:36
  unraveled
• 6:37
  very
• 6:37
  quickly.
• 6:38
  If
• 6:38
  you
• 6:38
  let
• 6:38
  the
• 6:38
  UFO
• 6:39
  grab
• 6:39
  that
• 6:39
  little
• 6:40
  loose
• 6:41
  thing
• 6:41
  and
• 6:42
  just
• 6:42
  pull
• 6:42
  it,
• 6:42
  it'll
• 6:42
  just
• 6:43
  go
• 6:43
  and
• 6:44
  you'll
• 6:44
  just
• 6:44
  come
• 6:44
  apart.
• 6:44
  And
• 6:45
  I've
• 6:45
  seen
• 6:45
  it.
• 6:45
  I've
• 6:45
  seen
• 6:46
  it
• 6:46
  happen
• 6:46
  to
• 6:46
  people,
• 6:47
  and
• 6:47
  it's
• 6:47
  almost
• 6:47
  happened
• 6:48
  to
• 6:48
  me
• 6:48
  a
• 6:48
  couple
• 6:48
  of
• 6:48
  times.
• 6:49
  Go
• 6:49
  to
• 6:49
  any
• 6:49
  UFO
• 6:50
  conference
• 6:51
  and
• 6:51
  you
• 6:51
  will
• 6:51
  see
• 6:52
  a
• 6:52
  lot
• 6:52
  of
• 6:52
  bow.
• 6:54
  When
• 6:55
  I
• 6:55
  first
• 6:55
  started
• 6:55
  studying
• 6:56
  it,
• 6:56
  it
• 6:56
  was
• 6:57
  a
• 6:57
  little
• 6:57
  overwhelming
• 6:57
  to
• 6:57
  me.
• 6:58
  And
• 6:58
  my
• 6:59
  defense
• 6:59
  mechanism
• 7:00
  was
• 7:00
  to
• 7:01
  back
• 7:01
  away
• 7:01
  for
• 7:02
  a
• 7:02
  couple
• 7:02
  years,
• 7:02
  three
• 7:02
  years,
• 7:03
  didn't
• 7:03
  even
• 7:03
  think
• 7:03
  about
• 7:03
  it.
• 7:03
  And
• 7:04
  then
• 7:04
  something
• 7:04
  would
• 7:04
  come
• 7:04
  up
• 7:04
  and
• 7:05
  made
• 7:05
  me
• 7:05
  curious
• 7:05
  again.
• 7:06
  That's
• 7:06
  how
• 7:06
  I
• 7:06
  stayed
• 7:07
  from
• 7:07
  falling
• 7:07
  into
• 7:07
  the
• 7:08
  rabbit
• 7:08
  hole
• 7:08
  permanently.
• 7:09
  I
• 7:09
  would
• 7:09
  crawl
• 7:10
  out.
• 7:10
  Now,
• 7:11
  how
• 7:11
  did
• 7:11
  this
• 7:11
  poor
• 7:11
  guy
• 7:11
  get
• 7:12
  involved
• 7:12
  in
• 7:13
  all
• 7:13
  of
• 7:13
  this?
• 7:13
  He
• 7:13
  was
• 7:13
  just
• 7:13
  an
• 7:13
  observer
• 7:14
  from
• 7:15
  his
• 7:15
  Home
• 7:15
  basically
• 7:16
  near
• 7:17
  an
• 7:17
  Air
• 7:17
  Force
• 7:17
  base.
• 7:18
  This
• 7:18
  took
• 7:18
  place
• 7:19
  starting
• 7:19
  in
• 7:19
  the
• 7:19
  1970s.
• 7:20
  Paul
• 7:20
  Bennewitz
• 7:21
  was
• 7:21
  an
• 7:21
  electrical
• 7:22
  physicist.
• 7:23
  He
• 7:23
  lived
• 7:23
  in
• 7:23
  Albuquerque
• 7:25
  Co.
• 7:25
  Which
• 7:25
  still
• 7:26
  exists
• 7:26
  and
• 7:26
  is
• 7:26
  run
• 7:26
  by
• 7:27
  his
• 7:27
  family,
• 7:27
  his
• 7:27
  sons
• 7:28
  called
• 7:28
  Thunder
• 7:29
  Scientific.
• 7:29
  Yeah,
• 7:29
  Alba
• 7:30
  Corky.
• 7:30
  Yeah,
• 7:30
  Alba
• 7:31
  Corky.
• 7:32
  He
• 7:32
  was
• 7:32
  a
• 7:32
  UFO
• 7:33
  like
• 7:33
  investigator.
• 7:34
  He's
• 7:34
  interested
• 7:34
  in
• 7:35
  it.
• 7:35
  I've
• 7:35
  actually
• 7:36
  seen
• 7:36
  his
• 7:36
  application
• 7:37
  to
• 7:37
  the
• 7:37
  Aerial
• 7:38
  Phenomena
• 7:38
  Research
• 7:38
  Organization,
• 7:39
  which
• 7:39
  was
• 7:40
  the
• 7:40
  other
• 7:40
  big.
• 7:40
  MUFON
• 7:41
  came
• 7:41
  out
• 7:41
  of
• 7:42
  that.
• 7:42
  Actually,
• 7:42
  MUFON
• 7:43
  split
• 7:43
  off
• 7:43
  from
• 7:43
  apro.
• 7:45
  So
• 7:45
  he
• 7:45
  was
• 7:45
  interested
• 7:45
  in
• 7:46
  the
• 7:46
  subject.
• 7:46
  And
• 7:47
  so
• 7:47
  he
• 7:47
  saw
• 7:47
  lights
• 7:48
  doing
• 7:49
  weird
• 7:49
  things
• 7:49
  out
• 7:50
  on
• 7:50
  the
• 7:51
  Kirtland
• 7:52
  Air
• 7:52
  Force
• 7:52
  Base
• 7:53
  property,
• 7:53
  which
• 7:54
  was.
• 7:54
  You
• 7:55
  could
• 7:55
  see
• 7:55
  perfectly
• 7:55
  well
• 7:56
  and
• 7:56
  you
• 7:56
  still
• 7:56
  can
• 7:56
  from
• 7:57
  his
• 7:57
  house.
• 7:57
  He
• 7:58
  passed
• 7:58
  away
• 7:58
  three
• 7:59
  weeks
• 7:59
  before
• 7:59
  I
• 7:59
  started
• 7:59
  writing
• 8:00
  the
• 8:00
  book.
• 8:00
  Actually
• 8:01
  before
• 8:01
  I
• 8:01
  got
• 8:01
  out
• 8:01
  there,
• 8:02
  his
• 8:02
  house
• 8:02
  was
• 8:02
  literally
• 8:03
  across
• 8:03
  the
• 8:03
  street
• 8:03
  from
• 8:04
  the
• 8:04
  fence
• 8:05
  to
• 8:05
  the
• 8:05
  base.
• 8:05
  Yeah,
• 8:06
  exactly.
• 8:06
  There's
• 8:07
  a
• 8:07
  perimeter
• 8:07
  fence
• 8:07
  saying,
• 8:08
  you
• 8:08
  know,
• 8:08
  use
• 8:08
  of
• 8:08
  deadly
• 8:09
  force
• 8:09
  authorized
• 8:10
  US
• 8:10
  Government
• 8:11
  installation.
• 8:11
  And
• 8:12
  his
• 8:12
  company,
• 8:12
  Thunder
• 8:13
  Scientific.
• 8:13
  The
• 8:13
  back
• 8:14
  wall
• 8:14
  of
• 8:14
  Thunder
• 8:14
  Scientific
• 8:15
  is
• 8:15
  also
• 8:16
  part
• 8:16
  of
• 8:16
  Kirtland
• 8:17
  Air
• 8:17
  Force
• 8:17
  Base.
• 8:18
  It's
• 8:18
  right
• 8:18
  behind
• 8:18
  where
• 8:18
  the
• 8:19
  company
• 8:19
  is.
• 8:19
  And
• 8:19
  Kirtland
• 8:20
  Air
• 8:20
  Force
• 8:20
  Base
• 8:20
  is
• 8:21
  adjacent
• 8:21
  to
• 8:21
  the
• 8:22
  Albuquerque
• 8:22
  International
• 8:23
  Airport.
• 8:23
  Yes.
• 8:23
  When
• 8:24
  you
• 8:24
  fly
• 8:24
  in
• 8:24
  into
• 8:25
  Albuquerque
• 8:26
  and
• 8:26
  you're
• 8:26
  coming
• 8:26
  in,
• 8:26
  you
• 8:27
  can
• 8:27
  actually
• 8:27
  see
• 8:28
  pretty
• 8:28
  much
• 8:28
  all
• 8:29
  of
• 8:29
  Kirtland
• 8:29
  Air
• 8:29
  Force
• 8:30
  Base,
• 8:30
  including
• 8:30
  this
• 8:31
  giant
• 8:31
  test
• 8:31
  thing
• 8:32
  they
• 8:32
  used
• 8:32
  to
• 8:32
  have
• 8:32
  that
• 8:32
  they
• 8:32
  would
• 8:33
  put
• 8:33
  B52s
• 8:34
  on
• 8:34
  and
• 8:35
  blast
• 8:35
  them
• 8:36
  with
• 8:36
  electromagnetic
• 8:37
  so
• 8:37
  they
• 8:37
  could
• 8:37
  test
• 8:38
  EMF
• 8:38
  pulses,
• 8:39
  like
• 8:39
  when
• 8:39
  a
• 8:39
  nuclear
• 8:40
  explosion
• 8:40
  happens,
• 8:41
  to
• 8:41
  make
• 8:41
  sure
• 8:41
  that
• 8:42
  their
• 8:42
  electronics
• 8:42
  were
• 8:43
  hardened
• 8:43
  enough
• 8:43
  so
• 8:43
  that
• 8:44
  the
• 8:44
  plane
• 8:44
  could
• 8:44
  keep
• 8:45
  flying.
• 8:45
  This
• 8:45
  was
• 8:45
  like
• 8:45
  the
• 8:46
  largest
• 8:46
  wooden
• 8:46
  structure
• 8:47
  ever
• 8:47
  built.
• 8:48
  Yes.
• 8:48
  And
• 8:48
  they
• 8:48
  could
• 8:48
  roll
• 8:49
  out
• 8:49
  C5A
• 8:49
  galaxies
• 8:50
  onto
• 8:50
  it.
• 8:51
  And
• 8:51
  they
• 8:51
  would
• 8:51
  then
• 8:51
  use.
• 8:52
  Because
• 8:52
  the
• 8:52
  wood
• 8:52
  was,
• 8:52
  I
• 8:53
  guess,
• 8:53
  non
• 8:53
  conductive.
• 8:53
  It
• 8:54
  could.
• 8:54
  Yeah,
• 8:54
  no
• 8:55
  metal
• 8:55
  parts.
• 8:55
  Because
• 8:56
  they'd
• 8:56
  probably.
• 8:57
  One,
• 8:57
  they
• 8:58
  would
• 8:58
  affect
• 8:58
  the
• 8:58
  test
• 8:58
  and
• 8:59
  two,
• 8:59
  they
• 8:59
  might
• 8:59
  pop
• 8:59
  out
• 8:59
  of
• 9:00
  the
• 9:00
  thing
• 9:00
  from
• 9:00
  the
• 9:01
  high
• 9:01
  electromagnetic
• 9:02
  field.
• 9:02
  So
• 9:02
  you'll
• 9:02
  see
• 9:02
  that
• 9:03
  when
• 9:03
  you
• 9:03
  fly
• 9:03
  into
• 9:03
  Alberta.
• 9:04
  Yeah,
• 9:04
  you
• 9:04
  can
• 9:04
  see
• 9:04
  it.
• 9:04
  It's
• 9:05
  very
• 9:05
  obvious.
• 9:05
  I
• 9:06
  think
• 9:06
  they
• 9:06
  may
• 9:06
  be
• 9:06
  taking
• 9:07
  it
• 9:07
  down
• 9:07
  now,
• 9:07
  but
• 9:08
  it
• 9:08
  was
• 9:08
  there
• 9:08
  since
• 9:08
  the
• 9:09
  80s,
• 9:09
  I
• 9:10
  think.
• 9:10
  Early
• 9:10
  80s.
• 9:10
  Bertlan
• 9:11
  Air
• 9:11
  Force
• 9:11
  Base
• 9:12
  has
• 9:12
  a
• 9:12
  lot
• 9:13
  going
• 9:13
  on
• 9:13
  there.
• 9:13
  I
• 9:13
  think
• 9:13
  in
• 9:14
  your
• 9:14
  book
• 9:14
  you
• 9:14
  write
• 9:14
  that
• 9:14
  there
• 9:14
  were
• 9:15
  at
• 9:15
  1.160
• 9:17
  different
• 9:17
  government
• 9:18
  agencies
• 9:19
  had
• 9:19
  a
• 9:20
  on
• 9:20
  that
• 9:20
  base,
• 9:21
  including
• 9:21
  the
• 9:21
  nsa,
• 9:22
  Sandia
• 9:22
  Labs.
• 9:23
  This
• 9:23
  is
• 9:23
  where
• 9:24
  they
• 9:24
  do
• 9:24
  a
• 9:24
  lot
• 9:24
  of
• 9:24
  weapons
• 9:25
  research
• 9:25
  and
• 9:26
  weapons
• 9:26
  testing.
• 9:27
  They
• 9:28
  had
• 9:28
  underground
• 9:29
  facilities,
• 9:29
  developed
• 9:29
  airborne
• 9:30
  lasers.
• 9:30
  Skunk
• 9:31
  Baxter
• 9:31
  was
• 9:32
  involved
• 9:32
  with
• 9:33
  his
• 9:33
  Skunk
• 9:33
  works
• 9:34
  there.
• 9:34
  Was
• 9:34
  that
• 9:34
  there.
• 9:36
  It's
• 9:36
  also
• 9:36
  one
• 9:36
  of
• 9:36
  the
• 9:36
  largest
• 9:37
  repositories
• 9:38
  of
• 9:39
  nuclear
• 9:39
  weapons.
• 9:40
  Or
• 9:40
  it
• 9:40
  was.
• 9:41
  I
• 9:41
  don't
• 9:41
  know
• 9:41
  if
• 9:41
  it
• 9:42
  is
• 9:42
  now.
• 9:42
  So
• 9:42
  it
• 9:42
  was
• 9:42
  a
• 9:43
  very
• 9:43
  hot
• 9:44
  security
• 9:45
  zone.
• 9:45
  Yeah.
• 9:45
  And
• 9:45
  Benowitz
• 9:46
  was
• 9:46
  seeing
• 9:46
  things
• 9:47
  like
• 9:47
  lights
• 9:47
  flying
• 9:48
  at
• 9:48
  night.
• 9:48
  He
• 9:48
  goes,
• 9:48
  oh,
• 9:48
  my
• 9:48
  God,
• 9:49
  UFOs.
• 9:50
  And
• 9:50
  he
• 9:50
  took
• 9:51
  video
• 9:51
  and
• 9:51
  film
• 9:52
  of
• 9:52
  it.
• 9:53
  Maybe
• 9:53
  not
• 9:53
  so
• 9:53
  much
• 9:53
  video,
• 9:54
  because
• 9:54
  this
• 9:54
  was
• 9:54
  the
• 9:55
  late
• 9:55
  70s.
• 9:55
  Nobody
• 9:56
  really
• 9:56
  had
• 9:57
  video,
• 9:57
  really
• 9:58
  amateur
• 9:59
  video.
• 9:59
  So
• 10:00
  he
• 10:00
  was
• 10:00
  taking
• 10:00
  8
• 10:00
  millimeter
• 10:01
  films
• 10:01
  of
• 10:01
  these
• 10:02
  lights
• 10:02
  that
• 10:02
  were
• 10:02
  lifting
• 10:03
  up
• 10:03
  off
• 10:03
  the
• 10:04
  ground
• 10:04
  and
• 10:04
  then
• 10:04
  flying
• 10:05
  over
• 10:05
  these
• 10:05
  mountains
• 10:05
  and
• 10:06
  dropping.
• 10:06
  He
• 10:06
  saw
• 10:07
  many
• 10:07
  other
• 10:07
  things,
• 10:07
  some
• 10:08
  of
• 10:08
  which
• 10:08
  might
• 10:09
  have
• 10:09
  been
• 10:09
  true
• 10:09
  unknowns,
• 10:10
  but
• 10:10
  probably
• 10:10
  most
• 10:11
  of
• 10:11
  them
• 10:11
  were
• 10:11
  just
• 10:11
  things
• 10:11
  that
• 10:12
  are
• 10:12
  being
• 10:12
  tested,
• 10:12
  and
• 10:13
  they
• 10:13
  were
• 10:13
  just
• 10:13
  testing
• 10:13
  them
• 10:14
  right
• 10:14
  out
• 10:14
  in
• 10:14
  the
• 10:14
  open.
• 10:14
  But
• 10:14
  they
• 10:14
  were
• 10:15
  doing
• 10:15
  it
• 10:15
  like,
• 10:15
  you
• 10:15
  know,
• 10:15
  at
• 10:15
  the
• 10:16
  1,
• 10:16
  2,
• 10:16
  3
• 10:17
  in
• 10:17
  the
• 10:17
  morning
• 10:17
  when
• 10:17
  they
• 10:18
  supposedly.
• 10:18
  Everybody
• 10:19
  was
• 10:19
  asleep.
• 10:20
  And
• 10:20
  most
• 10:20
  people
• 10:20
  don't
• 10:21
  see
• 10:21
  things
• 10:22
  right
• 10:22
  in
• 10:22
  front
• 10:22
  of
• 10:22
  them.
• 10:23
  And
• 10:24
  they
• 10:24
  were
• 10:24
  kind
• 10:24
  of
• 10:24
  banking
• 10:25
  on
• 10:25
  that.
• 10:25
  Yeah,
• 10:26
  maybe
• 10:26
  some
• 10:26
  might
• 10:26
  see
• 10:26
  an
• 10:26
  odd
• 10:27
  light
• 10:27
  in
• 10:27
  Albuquerque
• 10:28
  over
• 10:28
  Kirkland,
• 10:28
  but
• 10:28
  they
• 10:28
  wouldn't
• 10:29
  think
• 10:29
  twice
• 10:29
  about
• 10:29
  it.
• 10:30
  Benowitz,
• 10:31
  unfortunately
• 10:32
  for
• 10:32
  them,
• 10:32
  was
• 10:32
  not
• 10:33
  like
• 10:33
  that.
• 10:33
  He
• 10:34
  became
• 10:34
  pretty
• 10:34
  obsessed
• 10:35
  by
• 10:35
  it.
• 10:35
  Yeah.
• 10:36
  I
• 10:36
  think
• 10:36
  most
• 10:36
  people
• 10:36
  just
• 10:36
  say
• 10:37
  or
• 10:37
  something
• 10:37
  they're
• 10:37
  testing.
• 10:38
  Which
• 10:38
  was
• 10:39
  most
• 10:39
  likely
• 10:40
  true
• 10:40
  because
• 10:40
  they
• 10:41
  were
• 10:41
  truly
• 10:41
  actually
• 10:41
  UFO
• 10:42
  incursions,
• 10:43
  apparently,
• 10:44
  according
• 10:45
  to
• 10:45
  some
• 10:45
  FOIA
• 10:46
  documents
• 10:47
  and
• 10:47
  documents
• 10:48
  given
• 10:48
  to
• 10:48
  researchers,
• 10:49
  one
• 10:49
  of
• 10:49
  which
• 10:49
  we
• 10:50
  can
• 10:50
  talk
• 10:50
  about.
• 10:51
  So
• 10:51
  he
• 10:51
  called
• 10:51
  up
• 10:51
  the
• 10:52
  Air
• 10:52
  Force
• 10:52
  and
• 10:52
  he
• 10:52
  said,
• 10:52
  do
• 10:53
  you
• 10:53
  know
• 10:53
  there's
• 10:53
  these
• 10:53
  weird
• 10:53
  things
• 10:54
  flying
• 10:54
  around
• 10:54
  on
• 10:54
  the
• 10:54
  base
• 10:55
  here?
• 10:55
  I
• 10:55
  don't
• 10:55
  know.
• 10:55
  And
• 10:56
  he
• 10:56
  was
• 10:56
  already
• 10:56
  thinking
• 10:57
  it
• 10:57
  was
• 10:57
  aliens
• 10:58
  and
• 10:58
  some
• 10:58
  kind
• 10:58
  of
• 10:58
  invasion
• 10:59
  because
• 11:00
  he
• 11:00
  was
• 11:01
  dealing
• 11:02
  with
• 11:02
  an
• 11:02
  abductee
• 11:03
  named
• 11:03
  Myrna
• 11:03
  Hansen.
• 11:04
  He
• 11:04
  was
• 11:04
  already
• 11:04
  an
• 11:04
  apro.
• 11:05
  And
• 11:06
  so
• 11:06
  he
• 11:06
  was
• 11:06
  already
• 11:06
  interested
• 11:07
  in
• 11:07
  the
• 11:07
  subject.
• 11:07
  So
• 11:07
  everything
• 11:08
  he
• 11:08
  saw,
• 11:08
  I
• 11:08
  mean,
• 11:10
  everything
• 11:10
  looked
• 11:10
  like
• 11:10
  a
• 11:10
  nail
• 11:11
  to
• 11:11
  him.
• 11:11
  If
• 11:11
  it's
• 11:11
  a
• 11:11
  weird
• 11:11
  light
• 11:12
  in
• 11:12
  the
• 11:12
  sky,
• 11:12
  it's
• 11:12
  a
• 11:12
  yellow
• 11:12
  light.
• 11:12
  He's
• 11:13
  throwing
• 11:13
  out
• 11:13
  some
• 11:13
  initials
• 11:14
  here.
• 11:14
  Apro,
• 11:16
  Aerial
• 11:16
  Phenomena
• 11:17
  Research
• 11:17
  Organization.
• 11:18
  Ah,
• 11:18
  okay.
• 11:19
  Yeah.
• 11:19
  It
• 11:19
  was
• 11:20
  a
• 11:20
  precursor
• 11:21
  to
• 11:21
  mufon.
• 11:22
  Mutual
• 11:22
  UFO
• 11:23
  Network
• 11:23
  was
• 11:24
  a
• 11:24
  splinter
• 11:25
  group
• 11:25
  from
• 11:25
  apro.
• 11:26
  That
• 11:26
  was
• 11:27
  Lorenzen
• 11:28
  Coral
• 11:29
  and
• 11:29
  Jim
• 11:29
  Lorenzen,
• 11:30
  a
• 11:30
  couple
• 11:30
  who
• 11:31
  I
• 11:31
  interviewed
• 11:31
  back
• 11:32
  in
• 11:32
  1976.
• 11:33
  That's
• 11:33
  amazing.
• 11:34
  I'd
• 11:34
  like
• 11:34
  to
• 11:35
  hear
• 11:35
  that.
• 11:35
  Interviewed
• 11:35
  them
• 11:36
  about
• 11:36
  Travis
• 11:36
  Walton.
• 11:37
  Yeah.
• 11:37
  So
• 11:37
  he
• 11:37
  told
• 11:37
  the
• 11:38
  Air
• 11:38
  Force
• 11:38
  about
• 11:38
  this,
• 11:38
  and
• 11:39
  they
• 11:39
  said,
• 11:39
  wow,
• 11:40
  there's
• 11:40
  somebody
• 11:40
  watching
• 11:41
  this
• 11:41
  stuff
• 11:41
  and
• 11:42
  making,
• 11:42
  you
• 11:42
  know,
• 11:43
  shooting
• 11:44
  film
• 11:44
  of
• 11:44
  it.
• 11:45
  Eh,
• 11:45
  we
• 11:46
  probably
• 11:46
  prefer
• 11:46
  he
• 11:46
  didn't
• 11:46
  do
• 11:47
  that.
• 11:47
  So
• 11:47
  they
• 11:47
  called
• 11:47
  me
• 11:47
  into
• 11:47
  the
• 11:47
  base.
• 11:48
  Why
• 11:48
  don't
• 11:48
  you
• 11:48
  show
• 11:48
  us
• 11:49
  what
• 11:49
  you've
• 11:49
  got?
• 11:50
  And
• 11:50
  I
• 11:50
  talked
• 11:51
  to
• 11:51
  an
• 11:51
  NSA
• 11:52
  guy
• 11:52
  that
• 11:52
  was.
• 11:52
  Oh,
• 11:53
  no,
• 11:53
  he
• 11:53
  wasn't
• 11:53
  there.
• 11:54
  But
• 11:54
  a
• 11:54
  guy
• 11:54
  that
• 11:54
  shared
• 11:55
  an
• 11:55
  office
• 11:55
  with
• 11:55
  him
• 11:55
  was
• 11:56
  at
• 11:56
  that
• 11:56
  meeting.
• 11:57
  And
• 11:57
  this
• 11:57
  was
• 11:57
  Very
• 11:57
  early
• 11:58
  on,
• 11:58
  I
• 11:58
  think
• 11:58
  it
• 11:58
  was
• 11:58
  79.
• 11:59
  National
• 11:59
  Security
• 12:00
  Agency.
• 12:00
  Yeah.
• 12:01
  He
• 12:01
  said,
• 12:01
  sorry,
• 12:01
  I'm
• 12:02
  using
• 12:02
  these
• 12:02
  Alphabet
• 12:02
  soup
• 12:03
  terms.
• 12:04
  He
• 12:04
  said
• 12:04
  that
• 12:05
  within
• 12:05
  about
• 12:06
  an
• 12:06
  hour
• 12:06
  of
• 12:07
  the
• 12:07
  meeting,
• 12:07
  it
• 12:07
  was
• 12:07
  a
• 12:08
  couple
• 12:08
  hours
• 12:08
  long.
• 12:08
  He
• 12:08
  said
• 12:09
  most
• 12:09
  people
• 12:09
  left
• 12:10
  because
• 12:10
  the
• 12:10
  people
• 12:10
  at
• 12:10
  the
• 12:10
  base
• 12:11
  there
• 12:11
  was
• 12:11
  like,
• 12:11
  is
• 12:12
  this
• 12:12
  guy
• 12:12
  doing
• 12:12
  something
• 12:12
  that
• 12:13
  we
• 12:13
  care
• 12:13
  about?
• 12:14
  Most
• 12:14
  of
• 12:14
  them
• 12:14
  didn't
• 12:15
  like,
• 12:15
  no,
• 12:15
  it's
• 12:15
  not
• 12:16
  impinging
• 12:16
  on
• 12:16
  us,
• 12:17
  so
• 12:17
  we
• 12:17
  won't
• 12:17
  worry
• 12:18
  about
• 12:18
  it.
• 12:18
  But
• 12:18
  at
• 12:19
  the
• 12:19
  end
• 12:19
  of
• 12:19
  the
• 12:19
  meeting,
• 12:19
  the
• 12:20
  guy
• 12:20
  was
• 12:20
  in
• 12:20
  charge
• 12:20
  of
• 12:20
  security
• 12:21
  at
• 12:21
  the
• 12:21
  time,
• 12:22
  said,
• 12:22
  well,
• 12:23
  this
• 12:23
  is
• 12:23
  very
• 12:23
  interesting,
• 12:23
  Mr.
• 12:24
  Benowitz.
• 12:25
  Could
• 12:25
  you
• 12:25
  keep
• 12:25
  us
• 12:25
  informed
• 12:26
  about
• 12:26
  what
• 12:26
  you
• 12:27
  see?
• 12:27
  And
• 12:27
  people
• 12:28
  asked,
• 12:28
  like,
• 12:28
  why
• 12:28
  didn't
• 12:28
  they
• 12:28
  just
• 12:28
  tell
• 12:29
  him
• 12:29
  to
• 12:29
  cut
• 12:29
  it
• 12:29
  out?
• 12:30
  And
• 12:31
  they
• 12:31
  didn't
• 12:31
  do
• 12:31
  that
• 12:31
  because
• 12:32
  they
• 12:32
  can
• 12:32
  learn
• 12:32
  more
• 12:33
  about
• 12:33
  what's
• 12:33
  going
• 12:33
  on
• 12:33
  by
• 12:34
  just
• 12:34
  basically
• 12:35
  keeping
• 12:36
  him
• 12:36
  in
• 12:36
  their
• 12:36
  confidence,
• 12:36
  saying,
• 12:37
  look,
• 12:37
  let's
• 12:37
  work
• 12:37
  with
• 12:37
  you,
• 12:38
  and
• 12:38
  you
• 12:38
  tell
• 12:38
  us
• 12:38
  what
• 12:38
  you're
• 12:39
  seeing,
• 12:39
  because
• 12:39
  we're
• 12:39
  really
• 12:39
  interested
• 12:40
  in
• 12:40
  that.
• 12:40
  They're
• 12:40
  interested
• 12:41
  in
• 12:41
  what
• 12:41
  he
• 12:41
  was
• 12:41
  seeing
• 12:41
  and
• 12:41
  what
• 12:42
  was
• 12:42
  being
• 12:42
  revealed.
• 12:43
  He's
• 12:43
  a
• 12:43
  UFO
• 12:44
  researcher,
• 12:44
  and
• 12:44
  somebody
• 12:44
  just
• 12:45
  comes
• 12:45
  and
• 12:45
  says,
• 12:45
  hey,
• 12:46
  you
• 12:46
  know,
• 12:46
  what
• 12:46
  are
• 12:46
  you
• 12:46
  looking
• 12:46
  at?
• 12:47
  Can
• 12:47
  I
• 12:47
  get
• 12:47
  some
• 12:48
  photos?
• 12:48
  They
• 12:49
  could
• 12:49
  be
• 12:49
  anybody.
• 12:49
  They
• 12:49
  could
• 12:50
  be
• 12:50
  Russians
• 12:50
  or
• 12:50
  Chinese
• 12:51
  or
• 12:51
  somebody.
• 12:51
  And
• 12:52
  it's
• 12:52
  just
• 12:52
  part
• 12:52
  of
• 12:52
  their
• 12:52
  intelligence.
• 12:53
  Like,
• 12:53
  oh,
• 12:54
  okay,
• 12:54
  they're
• 12:54
  developing
• 12:55
  something
• 12:55
  that's
• 12:55
  supposed
• 12:56
  to
• 12:56
  do
• 12:56
  this.
• 12:56
  Oh,
• 12:57
  well,
• 12:57
  this
• 12:57
  guy,
• 12:57
  Mr.
• 12:57
  Benowitz
• 12:58
  in
• 12:58
  New
• 12:58
  Mexico,
• 12:59
  has
• 12:59
  something
• 13:00
  that
• 13:00
  looks
• 13:00
  exactly
• 13:01
  like
• 13:01
  what
• 13:01
  we're
• 13:01
  talking
• 13:01
  about.
• 13:02
  So
• 13:02
  it's
• 13:02
  just
• 13:02
  another
• 13:02
  data
• 13:03
  point
• 13:03
  for
• 13:03
  them.
• 13:03
  That's
• 13:04
  what
• 13:04
  they
• 13:04
  were
• 13:04
  worried
• 13:05
  about,
• 13:05
  which
• 13:05
  is
• 13:05
  why
• 13:06
  they
• 13:06
  told
• 13:06
  him
• 13:06
  to
• 13:06
  keep
• 13:06
  going.
• 13:07
  The
• 13:07
  problem
• 13:07
  is,
• 13:09
  eventually
• 13:10
  he
• 13:10
  was
• 13:11
  so
• 13:11
  convinced
• 13:11
  that
• 13:12
  the
• 13:12
  Air
• 13:12
  Force
• 13:12
  and
• 13:13
  whatever
• 13:14
  CIA,
• 13:14
  NSA
• 13:15
  were
• 13:15
  working
• 13:15
  with
• 13:15
  them.
• 13:16
  He
• 13:17
  was
• 13:17
  so
• 13:17
  convinced
• 13:18
  that
• 13:18
  they
• 13:18
  trusted
• 13:19
  everything
• 13:19
  he
• 13:20
  said
• 13:20
  and
• 13:20
  they
• 13:20
  didn't
• 13:20
  contradict
• 13:21
  him.
• 13:21
  They
• 13:21
  just
• 13:21
  kept
• 13:21
  saying,
• 13:22
  yes,
• 13:22
  please
• 13:22
  tell
• 13:22
  us
• 13:22
  more.
• 13:23
  It
• 13:23
  was
• 13:23
  just
• 13:24
  kind
• 13:24
  of
• 13:24
  like
• 13:25
  where
• 13:25
  you
• 13:25
  don't
• 13:26
  have
• 13:26
  any
• 13:26
  check
• 13:26
  on
• 13:26
  something.
• 13:27
  It
• 13:27
  just
• 13:27
  keeps
• 13:27
  getting
• 13:27
  crazier
• 13:28
  and
• 13:28
  crazier.
• 13:29
  And
• 13:29
  at
• 13:30
  least
• 13:30
  once
• 13:31
  that
• 13:31
  I
• 13:31
  know
• 13:31
  of,
• 13:32
  this
• 13:32
  UFO
• 13:33
  researcher
• 13:33
  we
• 13:34
  can

• 13:34
  was
• 13:34
  told
• 13:34
  to
• 13:34
  pass
• 13:35
  him
• 13:35
  a
• 13:35
  note
• 13:36
  that
• 13:36
  actually
• 13:36
  said
• 13:36
  that
• 13:37
  the
• 13:37
  government
• 13:38
  was
• 13:38
  interested
• 13:38
  in
• 13:38
  what
• 13:39
  he
• 13:39
  was
• 13:39
  doing,
• 13:39
  that
• 13:40
  named
• 13:40
  him
• 13:40
  in
• 13:41
  a
• 13:41
  document.
• 13:41
  This
• 13:41
  is
• 13:42
  where
• 13:42
  they're
• 13:42
  starting
• 13:43
  to
• 13:43
  manipulate
• 13:44
  him.
• 13:44
  They're
• 13:44
  actually
• 13:44
  being
• 13:45
  aggressive
• 13:45
  towards
• 13:46
  Benowitz.
• 13:47
  Instead
• 13:47
  of
• 13:47
  saying,
• 13:48
  thanks
• 13:48
  for
• 13:48
  your.
• 13:49
  Thanks
• 13:49
  for
• 13:49
  your
• 13:49
  patriotism,
• 13:50
  now
• 13:50
  go
• 13:51
  away.
• 13:51
  They're
• 13:52
  saying,
• 13:52
  keep
• 13:52
  us
• 13:53
  informed.
• 13:53
  I
• 13:53
  think
• 13:53
  another
• 13:54
  reason.
• 13:54
  If
• 13:55
  you
• 13:55
  spread
• 13:56
  weird
• 13:56
  information
• 13:57
  through
• 13:57
  Benowitz
• 13:58
  and
• 13:58
  it
• 13:58
  shows
• 13:58
  up
• 13:58
  in
• 13:58
  a
• 13:59
  channel
• 13:59
  somewhere
• 13:59
  else
• 14:00
  in
• 14:00
  your
• 14:00
  signals
• 14:00
  intelligence,
• 14:01
  you
• 14:01
  know
• 14:02
  that
• 14:02
  whoever
• 14:02
  Benowitz
• 14:03
  talked
• 14:03
  to
• 14:03
  told
• 14:04
  them
• 14:04
  that
• 14:04
  weird
• 14:05
  Story.
• 14:05
  Okay,
• 14:05
  so
• 14:06
  Bennewitz
• 14:06
  was
• 14:06
  a
• 14:06
  potential
• 14:07
  asset.
• 14:08
  Yeah,
• 14:08
  he
• 14:08
  was
• 14:08
  an.
• 14:09
  Yeah,
• 14:09
  exactly.
• 14:09
  I
• 14:09
  think
• 14:09
  they
• 14:10
  were
• 14:10
  treating
• 14:10
  him
• 14:10
  as
• 14:10
  an
• 14:10
  unwitting
• 14:11
  asset.
• 14:12
  But
• 14:12
  the
• 14:12
  thing
• 14:12
  is,
• 14:13
  he
• 14:13
  was
• 14:13
  so
• 14:13
  unstable
• 14:14
  that
• 14:14
  it
• 14:14
  just.
• 14:14
  If
• 14:15
  you
• 14:15
  and
• 14:15
  I,
• 14:15
  if
• 14:15
  it
• 14:15
  was
• 14:16
  happening
• 14:16
  to
• 14:16
  us,
• 14:16
  we'd
• 14:16
  probably
• 14:17
  at
• 14:17
  some
• 14:17
  point
• 14:17
  go,
• 14:19
  what
• 14:19
  are
• 14:19
  you
• 14:19
  telling
• 14:20
  me?
• 14:20
  Because
• 14:20
  this
• 14:20
  is
• 14:20
  not
• 14:20
  what
• 14:21
  I'm
• 14:21
  seeing,
• 14:21
  or
• 14:22
  I
• 14:22
  don't
• 14:22
  want
• 14:22
  to
• 14:22
  feel
• 14:22
  paranoid.
• 14:23
  But
• 14:24
  he
• 14:24
  didn't
• 14:24
  have
• 14:24
  that
• 14:24
  filter.
• 14:25
  He
• 14:25
  just
• 14:25
  kept
• 14:25
  going.
• 14:26
  And
• 14:26
  he
• 14:27
  was
• 14:27
  bright.
• 14:28
  Yeah,
• 14:28
  he
• 14:28
  actually
• 14:29
  came
• 14:29
  up
• 14:29
  with
• 14:29
  some
• 14:29
  devices
• 14:30
  that
• 14:30
  could
• 14:30
  temperature
• 14:31
  and
• 14:31
  humidity.
• 14:32
  Instruments
• 14:32
  he
• 14:32
  built
• 14:33
  for
• 14:34
  the
• 14:34
  Air
• 14:34
  Force
• 14:34
  and
• 14:34
  for
• 14:35
  various
• 14:35
  contractors
• 14:36
  and
• 14:36
  I
• 14:36
  think
• 14:37
  for
• 14:37
  the
• 14:37
  Air
• 14:38
  Force
• 14:38
  at
• 14:38
  one
• 14:38
  point
• 14:38
  came
• 14:39
  up
• 14:39
  with
• 14:39
  some
• 14:39
  kind
• 14:39
  of
• 14:40
  device
• 14:40
  decoding
• 14:41
  device
• 14:41
  about
• 14:42
  signals
• 14:42
  he
• 14:42
  was
• 14:43
  receiving
• 14:43
  from
• 14:43
  over
• 14:43
  Kirtland.
• 14:44
  Yes,
• 14:45
  he
• 14:46
  was
• 14:46
  picking
• 14:46
  up
• 14:46
  signals
• 14:46
  and
• 14:47
  he
• 14:47
  figured
• 14:47
  out
• 14:47
  a
• 14:48
  way
• 14:48
  to
• 14:48
  decode
• 14:48
  them.
• 14:49
  The
• 14:49
  pulsar
• 14:50
  signals,
• 14:50
  the
• 14:51
  laser
• 14:51
  signals.
• 14:52
  They
• 14:52
  were
• 14:53
  radio
• 14:53
  signals.
• 14:54
  And
• 14:54
  from
• 14:55
  what
• 14:55
  I
• 14:55
  can
• 14:55
  remember,
• 14:56
  it
• 14:56
  sounds
• 14:56
  like
• 14:57
  microbursts.
• 14:58
  And
• 14:58
  in
• 14:58
  the
• 14:58
  late
• 14:59
  70s,
• 14:59
  early
• 14:59
  80s,
• 15:00
  nobody
• 15:00
  knew
• 15:00
  what
• 15:00
  microbursts
• 15:01
  were.
• 15:01
  And
• 15:01
  they
• 15:01
  were
• 15:01
  kind
• 15:01
  of
• 15:02
  shocked
• 15:02
  that
• 15:02
  their
• 15:02
  institutional
• 15:03
  program
• 15:04
  inside
• 15:04
  the
• 15:04
  base
• 15:05
  wasn't
• 15:05
  able
• 15:05
  to
• 15:06
  do
• 15:06
  what
• 15:06
  he
• 15:06
  was
• 15:06
  able
• 15:06
  to
• 15:06
  do
• 15:07
  on
• 15:07
  a
• 15:07
  shoestring
• 15:07
  budget
• 15:08
  at
• 15:08
  home
• 15:08
  on
• 15:08
  his
• 15:08
  work.
• 15:09
  Well,
• 15:09
  yeah,
• 15:09
  they
• 15:09
  were
• 15:10
  amazed
• 15:10
  that
• 15:10
  he
• 15:10
  was
• 15:10
  able
• 15:11
  to
• 15:11
  start
• 15:11
  to
• 15:11
  figure
• 15:12
  out
• 15:12
  and
• 15:12
  detect
• 15:13
  patterns.
• 15:13
  But
• 15:14
  the
• 15:14
  thing
• 15:14
  is,
• 15:14
  the
• 15:14
  patterns
• 15:14
  to
• 15:15
  him
• 15:15
  had
• 15:15
  to
• 15:15
  do
• 15:15
  with
• 15:15
  UFOs
• 15:16
  and
• 15:16
  aliens
• 15:17
  invading
• 15:17
  and
• 15:17
  not
• 15:18
  whatever
• 15:18
  those
• 15:19
  radio
• 15:19
  transmissions
• 15:20
  were
• 15:20
  for.
• 15:20
  Benowitz
• 15:21
  made
• 15:21
  a
• 15:21
  leap.
• 15:22
  Yes.
• 15:22
  As
• 15:23
  far
• 15:23
  as
• 15:23
  I
• 15:23
  know,
• 15:23
  this
• 15:23
  is
• 15:24
  from
• 15:24
  my
• 15:25
  research.
• 15:25
  Sounds
• 15:26
  a
• 15:26
  little
• 15:26
  like
• 15:26
  Pluribus.
• 15:27
  Did
• 15:27
  you
• 15:28
  watch
• 15:28
  this
• 15:28
  series?
• 15:29
  No,
• 15:29
  no,
• 15:30
  no.
• 15:30
  Oh,
• 15:30
  you
• 15:30
  gotta
• 15:31
  watch
• 15:31
  it.
• 15:31
  Oh,
• 15:31
  yeah,
• 15:31
  Pluribus
• 15:32
  shot
• 15:32
  in
• 15:32
  Albuquerque.
• 15:33
  Ah,
• 15:33
  yeah,
• 15:34
  Albuquerque's
• 15:34
  huge
• 15:35
  now
• 15:35
  for
• 15:35
  production.
• 15:36
  I
• 15:36
  have
• 15:36
  a
• 15:36
  couple
• 15:37
  friends
• 15:37
  that
• 15:37
  move
• 15:37
  there
• 15:37
  specifically
• 15:38
  for
• 15:38
  that
• 15:39
  from
• 15:39
  la.
• 15:39
  The
• 15:39
  same
• 15:39
  people
• 15:40
  made
• 15:40
  Breaking
• 15:40
  Bad,
• 15:41
  made
• 15:41
  Pluribus.
• 15:42
  Okay,
• 15:42
  that's
• 15:42
  right.
• 15:42
  Vince
• 15:43
  Gilligan.
• 15:43
  How
• 15:44
  did
• 15:44
  you
• 15:44
  get
• 15:44
  turned
• 15:44
  onto
• 15:45
  this
• 15:45
  guy
• 15:46
  in
• 15:46
  your
• 15:46
  research?
• 15:47
  How
• 15:47
  did
• 15:47
  you
• 15:47
  find
• 15:47
  out
• 15:48
  about
• 15:48
  him
• 15:48
  and
• 15:48
  say,
• 15:49
  this
• 15:49
  is
• 15:50
  a
• 15:50
  story
• 15:50
  I
• 15:50
  gotta
• 15:50
  tell?
• 15:51
  I
• 15:51
  met
• 15:51
  Bill
• 15:52
  Moore,
• 15:52
  who
• 15:52
  is
• 15:53
  a
• 15:53
  UFO
• 15:53
  researcher.
• 15:54
  He's
• 15:54
  best
• 15:54
  known
• 15:55
  for
• 15:55
  the
• 15:55
  first
• 15:56
  book
• 15:56
  on
• 15:56
  Roswell
• 15:57
  he
• 15:57
  co
• 15:57
  wrote
• 15:57
  with
• 15:57
  Charles
• 15:58
  Berlitz,
• 15:58
  the
• 15:58
  Roswell
• 15:59
  Incident.
• 15:59
  They
• 15:59
  broke
• 16:00
  the
• 16:00
  Roswell
• 16:00
  UFO
• 16:01
  story,
• 16:01
  didn't
• 16:01
  they?
• 16:01
  Stan
• 16:02
  Friedman
• 16:02
  did.
• 16:02
  But
• 16:03
  Bill
• 16:03
  and
• 16:04
  Berlitz
• 16:05
  took
• 16:06
  his
• 16:06
  information
• 16:06
  and
• 16:07
  more
• 16:07
  information
• 16:07
  that
• 16:08
  Bill
• 16:08
  got
• 16:08
  by
• 16:08
  going
• 16:08
  out
• 16:09
  to
• 16:09
  Roswell
• 16:09
  in
• 16:10
  the
• 16:10
  late
• 16:10
  70s
• 16:11
  and
• 16:11
  interviewing
• 16:11
  people.
• 16:12
  He
• 16:12
  was
• 16:12
  one
• 16:12
  of
• 16:12
  the
• 16:12
  first
• 16:13
  people
• 16:13
  coming
• 16:13
  out
• 16:13
  there
• 16:13
  and
• 16:13
  asking
• 16:14
  about
• 16:14
  it
• 16:14
  after
• 16:15
  what,
• 16:15
  like
• 16:15
  a
• 16:15
  little
• 16:16
  over
• 16:16
  30
• 16:16
  years?
• 16:16
  1947.
• 16:18
  Yeah.
• 16:19
  So
• 16:19
  he
• 16:19
  was
• 16:19
  out
• 16:19
  there
• 16:19
  76,
• 16:20
  77,
• 16:21
  something
• 16:21
  like
• 16:21
  that.
• 16:21
  It
• 16:21
  was
• 16:21
  where
• 16:21
  alleged
• 16:22
  UFO
• 16:23
  retrieval,
• 16:23
  evidently
• 16:24
  a
• 16:24
  collision
• 16:24
  between
• 16:25
  two
• 16:25
  UFOs.
• 16:26
  Oh,
• 16:26
  yeah.
• 16:26
  One
• 16:26
  crashed,
• 16:27
  wasn't
• 16:28
  it?
• 16:28
  Between
• 16:28
  a
• 16:28
  UFO
• 16:29
  and
• 16:29
  a
• 16:29
  weather
• 16:29
  balloon?
• 16:30
  That's
• 16:31
  what
• 16:31
  they'd
• 16:31
  like
• 16:31
  you
• 16:31
  to
• 16:31
  think.
• 16:32
  But
• 16:32
  Ed
• 16:33
  Mitchell,
• 16:33
  sixth
• 16:33
  man
• 16:34
  who
• 16:34
  walked
• 16:34
  on
• 16:34
  the
• 16:34
  moon,
• 16:35
  grew
• 16:35
  up
• 16:35
  in
• 16:35
  Roswell,
• 16:36
  and.
• 16:36
  That's
• 16:36
  right.
• 16:37
  One
• 16:37
  of
• 16:37
  the
• 16:37
  reasons
• 16:37
  he
• 16:37
  was
• 16:37
  so
• 16:38
  interested,
• 16:38
  him
• 16:38
  and
• 16:38
  Dan
• 16:39
  Rather.
• 16:39
  Yeah.
• 16:41
  He
• 16:41
  had
• 16:41
  familial
• 16:42
  connections
• 16:43
  growing
• 16:43
  up
• 16:43
  in
• 16:43
  the
• 16:43
  area.
• 16:44
  And
• 16:44
  the
• 16:44
  locals
• 16:44
  told
• 16:45
  Ed.
• 16:45
  Yeah,
• 16:45
  no,
• 16:46
  it
• 16:46
  happened.
• 16:46
  It
• 16:47
  happened.
• 16:47
  That's
• 16:47
  one
• 16:47
  of
• 16:47
  the
• 16:47
  reasons
• 16:47
  he
• 16:48
  was
• 16:48
  so
• 16:48
  solidly
• 16:49
  into
• 16:49
  it.
• 16:50
  Yeah.
• 16:51
  Yeah.
• 16:51
  Well,
• 16:51
  you
• 16:52
  would
• 16:52
  be.
• 16:53
  I
• 16:53
  don't
• 16:54
  know
• 16:54
  what
• 16:54
  happened
• 16:54
  there.
• 16:54
  Something
• 16:55
  very
• 16:55
  important
• 16:55
  crashed
• 16:56
  that
• 16:56
  a
• 16:56
  lot
• 16:56
  of
• 16:56
  people
• 16:57
  or
• 16:57
  a
• 16:57
  few
• 16:58
  people
• 16:58
  did
• 16:58
  not
• 16:58
  want
• 16:58
  to
• 16:58
  talk
• 16:59
  about.
• 16:59
  And
• 16:59
  I
• 17:00
  don't
• 17:00
  know
• 17:00
  what
• 17:00
  that
• 17:00
  is.
• 17:00
  That
• 17:00
  might
• 17:00
  have
• 17:01
  been
• 17:01
  an
• 17:01
  alien
• 17:02
  craft
• 17:02
  or
• 17:02
  something
• 17:03
  else.
• 17:03
  I
• 17:04
  don't
• 17:04
  know.
• 17:04
  But
• 17:05
  Bill
• 17:06
  wrote
• 17:06
  that
• 17:06
  book.
• 17:07
  And
• 17:07
  because
• 17:08
  of
• 17:08
  that
• 17:09
  book,
• 17:10
  Bill
• 17:10
  Moore
• 17:10
  got
• 17:11
  contacted.
• 17:11
  He
• 17:12
  was
• 17:12
  at
• 17:12
  a
• 17:12
  radio
• 17:12
  station
• 17:13
  doing
• 17:13
  an
• 17:13
  interview
• 17:15
  for
• 17:15
  the
• 17:15
  Roswell
• 17:16
  book,
• 17:16
  and
• 17:17
  he
• 17:17
  got
• 17:17
  a
• 17:17
  phone
• 17:18
  call.
• 17:18
  It
• 17:18
  was
• 17:18
  the
• 17:18
  second
• 17:19
  phone
• 17:19
  call
• 17:19
  he'd
• 17:19
  gotten
• 17:20
  where
• 17:20
  somebody
• 17:20
  said,
• 17:20
  we
• 17:21
  think
• 17:21
  you're
• 17:21
  the
• 17:21
  only
• 17:21
  person
• 17:22
  that
• 17:22
  knows
• 17:22
  what
• 17:22
  you're
• 17:23
  talking
• 17:23
  about
• 17:23
  and
• 17:23
  we'd
• 17:24
  like
• 17:24
  to
• 17:24
  talk
• 17:24
  to
• 17:24
  you.
• 17:25
  And
• 17:25
  the
• 17:25
  first
• 17:25
  time
• 17:25
  he
• 17:26
  said,
• 17:26
  ah,
• 17:26
  there's
• 17:26
  just
• 17:26
  people
• 17:27
  messing
• 17:27
  with
• 17:27
  me.
• 17:27
  The
• 17:27
  second
• 17:28
  time
• 17:28
  actually
• 17:28
  happened
• 17:28
  at
• 17:28
  Albuquerque
• 17:29
  when
• 17:30
  he
• 17:30
  was
• 17:30
  at,
• 17:30
  I
• 17:30
  think.
• 17:30
  I
• 17:30
  think
• 17:31
  kob,
• 17:31
  I
• 17:31
  can't
• 17:32
  remember
• 17:32
  the
• 17:32
  big
• 17:32
  station
• 17:32
  in
• 17:33
  Albuquerque.
• 17:33
  But
• 17:34
  very
• 17:34
  soon
• 17:35
  after
• 17:35
  that,
• 17:35
  he
• 17:35
  met
• 17:35
  with
• 17:36
  the
• 17:36
  person
• 17:36
  that
• 17:36
  became
• 17:37
  known
• 17:37
  as
• 17:38
  Falcon
• 17:38
  and
• 17:39
  Doty,
• 17:40
  Richard
• 17:40
  Doty,
• 17:41
  who
• 17:41
  was
• 17:41
  the
• 17:41
  person
• 17:42
  at
• 17:42
  Kirtland
• 17:43
  Air
• 17:43
  Force
• 17:43
  Base,
• 17:43
  who
• 17:43
  was
• 17:44
  basically
• 17:44
  the
• 17:44
  Air
• 17:44
  Force's
• 17:45
  FBI,
• 17:45
  the
• 17:46
  Air
• 17:46
  Force
• 17:46
  Office
• 17:47
  of
• 17:47
  Special
• 17:47
  Investigation,
• 17:48
  and
• 17:48
  they
• 17:48
  were
• 17:48
  very
• 17:49
  involved
• 17:49
  in
• 17:49
  the
• 17:49
  Bennewitz
• 17:50
  case.
• 17:51
  Yeah,
• 17:51
  Bill
• 17:52
  Moore
• 17:52
  and
• 17:53
  Doty,
• 17:53
  they're
• 17:54
  known
• 17:54
  within
• 17:54
  UFO
• 17:55
  research
• 17:55
  circles
• 17:56
  as,
• 17:57
  let's
• 17:57
  put
• 17:57
  it
• 17:57
  this
• 17:57
  way,
• 17:58
  interesting
• 17:58
  characters
• 18:00
  because
• 18:00
  they
• 18:00
  seem
• 18:01
  to
• 18:01
  be
• 18:01
  floating
• 18:01
  on
• 18:02
  both
• 18:02
  sides,
• 18:02
  sides
• 18:03
  of
• 18:03
  the
• 18:04
  intelligence
• 18:05
  community
• 18:05
  and
• 18:05
  the
• 18:06
  vox
• 18:06
  populi.
• 18:07
  As
• 18:07
  far
• 18:07
  as
• 18:07
  people
• 18:07
  involved
• 18:08
  in
• 18:08
  research,
• 18:08
  Doty
• 18:09
  really
• 18:09
  not
• 18:09
  so
• 18:09
  much
• 18:09
  until
• 18:10
  in
• 18:10
  the
• 18:10
  last
• 18:11
  10
• 18:11
  or
• 18:11
  15
• 18:11
  years
• 18:12
  when
• 18:12
  he
• 18:12
  started,
• 18:12
  he
• 18:13
  retired
• 18:13
  from
• 18:13
  the
• 18:13
  State
• 18:13
  Highway
• 18:14
  Patrol.
• 18:14
  Now
• 18:14
  he's,
• 18:15
  like
• 18:15
  doing
• 18:15
  a
• 18:15
  lot
• 18:15
  of.
• 18:16
  He's
• 18:16
  doing
• 18:16
  the
• 18:17
  circuit,
• 18:17
  doing
• 18:17
  the
• 18:17
  UFO
• 18:18
  conventions
• 18:18
  and
• 18:18
  things
• 18:19
  like
• 18:19
  that.
• 18:19
  Bill,
• 18:20
  when
• 18:20
  he's
• 18:21
  admitted
• 18:21
  or
• 18:22
  told
• 18:22
  people
• 18:23
  what
• 18:23
  was
• 18:23
  going
• 18:23
  on
• 18:24
  and
• 18:24
  what
• 18:24
  he'd
• 18:24
  done,
• 18:24
  which
• 18:25
  nobody
• 18:25
  else
• 18:25
  ever
• 18:26
  did,
• 18:27
  he
• 18:28
  got
• 18:28
  blackballed
• 18:28
  out
• 18:28
  of
• 18:29
  ufology.
• 18:29
  And
• 18:29
  he
• 18:29
  just
• 18:29
  said,
• 18:30
  finally
• 18:30
  just
• 18:30
  said,
• 18:30
  well,
• 18:31
  then
• 18:31
  forget
• 18:31
  it.
• 18:31
  And
• 18:31
  he
• 18:31
  said,
• 18:32
  wait,
• 18:32
  why
• 18:32
  did
• 18:32
  he
• 18:32
  get
• 18:32
  blackballed?
• 18:33
  He
• 18:34
  went,
• 18:34
  as
• 18:34
  written
• 18:35
  in
• 18:35
  your
• 18:35
  book,
• 18:35
  in
• 18:35
  1989,
• 18:36
  he
• 18:36
  attended
• 18:36
  a
• 18:37
  MUFON
• 18:38
  UFO
• 18:38
  conference
• 18:38
  in
• 18:39
  Las
• 18:39
  Vegas.
• 18:40
  And
• 18:40
  he
• 18:40
  was
• 18:40
  gonna
• 18:40
  make
• 18:40
  a
• 18:41
  profound
• 18:41
  announcement
• 18:42
  about
• 18:43
  the
• 18:43
  subject.
• 18:44
  Yeah.
• 18:44
  And
• 18:44
  there
• 18:45
  were
• 18:45
  a
• 18:45
  thousand
• 18:45
  people
• 18:45
  in
• 18:45
  the
• 18:46
  audience.
• 18:46
  And
• 18:46
  he
• 18:46
  got
• 18:46
  up
• 18:46
  there.
• 18:47
  I
• 18:47
  was
• 18:47
  one
• 18:47
  of
• 18:47
  them.
• 18:48
  I
• 18:48
  was
• 18:48
  there.
• 18:48
  It's
• 18:48
  the
• 18:48
  best
• 18:48
  speech
• 18:49
  I've
• 18:49
  ever
• 18:49
  seen.
• 18:49
  It's
• 18:49
  because
• 18:49
  of
• 18:50
  the
• 18:50
  reaction.
• 18:51
  They
• 18:51
  had
• 18:51
  to
• 18:51
  stop
• 18:51
  the
• 18:52
  talk
• 18:52
  about
• 18:53
  four
• 18:53
  times
• 18:53
  to
• 18:53
  get
• 18:54
  people
• 18:54
  to
• 18:54
  calm
• 18:54
  down.
• 18:55
  What
• 18:55
  he
• 18:55
  said
• 18:55
  was,
• 18:56
  you
• 18:56
  guys
• 18:57
  know
• 18:57
  about
• 18:57
  Benowitz?
• 18:58
  Well,
• 18:58
  this
• 18:58
  is
• 18:58
  what
• 18:58
  happened.
• 18:59
  He
• 18:59
  was
• 19:00
  not
• 19:00
  targeted,
• 19:01
  because
• 19:01
  that
• 19:01
  sounds
• 19:02
  bad.
• 19:02
  He
• 19:03
  was
• 19:03
  identified
• 19:04
  as
• 19:04
  a
• 19:04
  very
• 19:05
  important
• 19:05
  person
• 19:06
  of
• 19:06
  interest
• 19:06
  for
• 19:06
  them.
• 19:07
  And
• 19:08
  I
• 19:08
  was
• 19:08
  offered
• 19:08
  a
• 19:09
  deal.
• 19:09
  I
• 19:09
  could
• 19:09
  get
• 19:10
  secret
• 19:10
  UFO
• 19:10
  documents
• 19:11
  and
• 19:11
  things
• 19:11
  people
• 19:12
  hadn't
• 19:12
  seen
• 19:12
  in
• 19:12
  exchange
• 19:13
  for
• 19:13
  basically
• 19:13
  just
• 19:14
  telling
• 19:14
  the
• 19:15
  Air
• 19:15
  Force
• 19:16
  and
• 19:16
  whoever
• 19:16
  else
• 19:16
  asked
• 19:17
  what
• 19:17
  he
• 19:17
  was
• 19:18
  thinking
• 19:18
  and
• 19:18
  maybe
• 19:18
  who
• 19:18
  he
• 19:18
  was
• 19:19
  talking
• 19:19
  to.
• 19:19
  Benowitz.
• 19:20
  Benowitz,
• 19:20
  yeah.
• 19:21
  Because
• 19:21
  there
• 19:21
  was
• 19:21
  no
• 19:22
  Internet
• 19:22
  then.
• 19:23
  I'm
• 19:23
  sure
• 19:23
  Benowitz
• 19:24
  had
• 19:24
  phone
• 19:24
  taps
• 19:24
  on
• 19:24
  and
• 19:25
  all
• 19:25
  that
• 19:25
  other
• 19:25
  stuff,
• 19:25
  but
• 19:26
  you
• 19:26
  actually
• 19:26
  had
• 19:27
  to
• 19:27
  have
• 19:27
  human
• 19:27
  intelligence,
• 19:28
  human
• 19:28
  talking
• 19:28
  to
• 19:28
  people.
• 19:29
  Yeah.
• 19:29
  Well,
• 19:29
  that's
• 19:29
  where
• 19:29
  the
• 19:29
  disinformation
• 19:30
  starts
• 19:31
  and
• 19:31
  the
• 19:31
  manipulation
• 19:32
  starts,
• 19:33
  where
• 19:33
  the
• 19:33
  government,
• 19:34
  through
• 19:34
  Kirtland,
• 19:35
  is
• 19:35
  beginning
• 19:36
  to
• 19:37
  try
• 19:37
  to
• 19:37
  influence
• 19:38
  Benowitz's
• 19:38
  thinking,
• 19:39
  to
• 19:39
  lead
• 19:39
  him
• 19:40
  astray
• 19:41
  from
• 19:41
  the
• 19:41
  intelligence
• 19:42
  that
• 19:42
  he
• 19:42
  was
• 19:42
  gathering
• 19:43
  over
• 19:43
  the
• 19:44
  base.
• 19:44
  What
• 19:45
  he
• 19:45
  did
• 19:45
  was
• 19:46
  he
• 19:46
  would
• 19:46
  tell
• 19:46
  them
• 19:47
  stuff,
• 19:47
  and
• 19:47
  then
• 19:47
  they
• 19:47
  would
• 19:48
  encourage
• 19:48
  certain
• 19:48
  parts
• 19:48
  of
• 19:49
  it.
• 19:49
  I
• 19:49
  don't
• 19:49
  know
• 19:50
  if
• 19:50
  they
• 19:50
  ever.
• 19:51
  They
• 19:51
  may
• 19:51
  have.
• 19:52
  I
• 19:52
  wasn't
• 19:52
  there
• 19:52
  at
• 19:53
  the
• 19:53
  time,
• 19:53
  ever,
• 19:53
  actually
• 19:54
  specifically
• 19:55
  told
• 19:55
  him
• 19:55
  stuff
• 19:55
  that
• 19:55
  was.
• 19:56
  That
• 19:56
  he
• 19:56
  hadn't
• 19:57
  heard
• 19:57
  before,
• 19:57
  just
• 19:57
  to
• 19:58
  encourage
• 19:58
  him,
• 19:59
  except
• 19:59
  the
• 19:59
  computer
• 20:00
  program.
• 20:00
  But
• 20:00
  that
• 20:00
  was
• 20:00
  also
• 20:01
  an
• 20:01
  extension
• 20:02
  of
• 20:02
  what
• 20:02
  he
• 20:02
  was
• 20:02
  doing,
• 20:02
  and
• 20:03
  we'll
• 20:03
  talk
• 20:03
  about
• 20:03
  that.
• 20:04
  But
• 20:05
  if
• 20:05
  he
• 20:05
  came
• 20:05
  up
• 20:05
  with
• 20:06
  something
• 20:06
  that
• 20:06
  he
• 20:06
  was
• 20:06
  excited
• 20:07
  about
• 20:07
  and
• 20:07
  they
• 20:08
  could
• 20:08
  push
• 20:08
  him
• 20:08
  off
• 20:08
  on
• 20:09
  that
• 20:09
  tangent
• 20:09
  and
• 20:09
  yet
• 20:10
  still
• 20:10
  retain
• 20:11
  the
• 20:11
  interest
• 20:12
  of
• 20:12
  whoever,
• 20:13
  because
• 20:13
  this
• 20:13
  was
• 20:13
  an
• 20:13
  intelligence
• 20:14
  operation,
• 20:14
  they
• 20:15
  didn't
• 20:15
  say,
• 20:15
  we're
• 20:16
  going
• 20:16
  to
• 20:16
  drive
• 20:16
  this
• 20:16
  guy
• 20:16
  crazy
• 20:17
  and
• 20:17
  get
• 20:17
  him
• 20:17
  out
• 20:17
  of
• 20:17
  here.
• 20:18
  No,
• 20:18
  that
• 20:18
  had
• 20:18
  nothing
• 20:19
  to
• 20:19
  do
• 20:19
  with
• 20:19
  it.
• 20:19
  What
• 20:20
  it
• 20:20
  was,
• 20:20
  was,
• 20:20
  let's
• 20:21
  see
• 20:21
  what
• 20:21
  he's
• 20:21
  seeing.
• 20:22
  Let's
• 20:22
  see
• 20:23
  how
• 20:23
  much
• 20:23
  he's
• 20:23
  seeing,
• 20:23
  how
• 20:24
  he's
• 20:24
  figuring
• 20:24
  out
• 20:24
  and
• 20:25
  who
• 20:25
  he's
• 20:25
  talking
• 20:25
  to,
• 20:26
  and
• 20:26
  even.
• 20:26
  Maybe
• 20:27
  not
• 20:27
  even
• 20:27
  who
• 20:27
  he's
• 20:28
  talking
• 20:28
  to,
• 20:28
  but
• 20:28
  who's
• 20:29
  getting
• 20:29
  information
• 20:29
  from
• 20:29
  him
• 20:30
  by
• 20:30
  figuring
• 20:30
  out,
• 20:31
  like
• 20:31
  I
• 20:31
  said,
• 20:31
  you
• 20:31
  go
• 20:32
  to
• 20:32
  Russian
• 20:32
  intelligence,
• 20:33
  talk
• 20:35
  wherever,
• 20:35
  that
• 20:36
  they
• 20:36
  pick
• 20:36
  up
• 20:36
  this
• 20:36
  intelligence,
• 20:37
  and
• 20:37
  they
• 20:37
  mention
• 20:37
  something
• 20:38
  that
• 20:38
  Benowitz
• 20:38
  did,
• 20:39
  obviously
• 20:39
  somebody's
• 20:40
  watching
• 20:40
  him.
• 20:41
  So
• 20:42
  they
• 20:42
  would
• 20:42
  just
• 20:42
  take
• 20:42
  things,
• 20:43
  as
• 20:43
  far
• 20:43
  as
• 20:43
  I
• 20:43
  know,
• 20:43
  would
• 20:44
  take
• 20:44
  things
• 20:44
  that
• 20:44
  he
• 20:44
  was
• 20:44
  already
• 20:45
  doing,
• 20:45
  interested
• 20:46
  in,
• 20:46
  looking
• 20:46
  at,
• 20:47
  theorizing
• 20:48
  about,
• 20:49
  and
• 20:49
  if
• 20:49
  they
• 20:49
  thought
• 20:50
  it
• 20:50
  was
• 20:50
  fruitful,
• 20:50
  or
• 20:50
  it
• 20:51
  would
• 20:51
  either
• 20:51
  do
• 20:52
  something
• 20:52
  interesting
• 20:53
  or
• 20:53
  useful
• 20:54
  or
• 20:55
  push
• 20:55
  him
• 20:55
  away
• 20:55
  from
• 20:56
  things
• 20:56
  they
• 20:56
  didn't
• 20:56
  want
• 20:56
  him
• 20:57
  looking
• 20:57
  at
• 20:58
  or
• 20:58
  whoever
• 20:59
  was
• 20:59
  watching
• 20:59
  him.
• 20:59
  Push
• 21:00
  them
• 21:00
  away
• 21:00
  from
• 21:00
  things
• 21:01
  they
• 21:01
  would
• 21:01
  encourage
• 21:02
  that.
• 21:02
  The
• 21:02
  Russians
• 21:03
  released
• 21:03
  a
• 21:03
  record,
• 21:04
  I
• 21:04
  learned
• 21:05
  this
• 21:05
  on
• 21:05
  my
• 21:05
  trip
• 21:06
  to
• 21:06
  the
• 21:06
  Soviet
• 21:06
  Union
• 21:06
  in
• 21:07
  59,
• 21:07
  of
• 21:08
  jazz,
• 21:09
  famous
• 21:09
  jazz
• 21:10
  songs.
• 21:11
  And
• 21:11
  one
• 21:11
  of
• 21:11
  them
• 21:11
  was
• 21:12
  called
• 21:12
  Summoned
• 21:12
  to
• 21:12
  Watch
• 21:12
  Over
• 21:13
  Me.
• 21:13
  And
• 21:14
  they
• 21:14
  retitled
• 21:14
  it
• 21:15
  My
• 21:15
  Little
• 21:15
  Shepherdess.
• 21:18
  True

• 21:19
  You're
• 21:20
  listening
• 21:20
  to
• 21:20
  Phil
• 21:20
  and
• 21:20
  Ted's

• 21:21
  Our

• 21:22
  today
• 21:22
  is
• 21:23
  author
• 21:23
  and
• 21:23
  investigator
• 21:24
  Greg
• 21:24
  Bishop.
• 21:25
  We're
• 21:25
  talking
• 21:26
  about
• 21:26
  a
• 21:26
  book
• 21:26
  he
• 21:26
  wrote
• 21:26
  about
• 21:27
  a
• 21:27
  gentleman
• 21:27
  named
• 21:28
  Paul
• 21:28
  Benowitz.
• 21:29
  It's
• 21:29
  called
• 21:29
  the
• 21:29
  Story
• 21:30
  of
• 21:30
  Paul
• 21:30
  Benowitz
• 21:31
  National
• 21:31
  Security
• 21:31
  and
• 21:32
  the
• 21:32
  Creation
• 21:32
  of
• 21:32
  a
• 21:33
  Modern
• 21:33
  UFO
• 21:34
  Myth.
• 21:34
  Is
• 21:34
  it
• 21:34
  still
• 21:35
  a
• 21:35
  hot
• 21:35
  topic?
• 21:36
  It's
• 21:36
  become
• 21:37
  so
• 21:37
  in
• 21:37
  the
• 21:37
  last
• 21:37
  few
• 21:38
  years
• 21:38
  because
• 21:38
  of
• 21:39
  all
• 21:39
  this.
• 21:40
  Interesting
• 21:40
  because
• 21:41
  of
• 21:41
  the
• 21:41
  article
• 21:41
  In
• 21:42
  2017,
• 21:43
  the
• 21:43
  New
• 21:43
  York
• 21:44
  Times
• 21:44
  article
• 21:44
  by
• 21:44
  Leslie
• 21:45
  Keane
• 21:45
  and
• 21:45
  Ralph
• 21:45
  Blumenthal.
• 21:46
  And
• 21:47
  suddenly
• 21:47
  it's
• 21:47
  okay
• 21:47
  to
• 21:48
  talk
• 21:48
  about
• 21:48
  this?
• 21:48
  Suddenly
• 21:49
  it's
• 21:49
  okay
• 21:49
  to
• 21:49
  talk
• 21:49
  about
• 21:50
  it
• 21:50
  in
• 21:50
  academia
• 21:50
  and
• 21:51
  in
• 21:51
  gov.
• 21:52
  Yeah,
• 21:52
  but
• 21:52
  I
• 21:52
  think
• 21:52
  the
• 21:53
  value
• 21:53
  of
• 21:53
  it,
• 21:53
  again
• 21:53
  is
• 21:54
  the
• 21:54
  effect
• 21:55
  of
• 21:55
  the
• 21:55
  psychoactive
• 21:55
  nature
• 21:56
  of
• 21:56
  the
• 21:56
  subject
• 21:56
  matter
• 21:57
  and
• 21:57
  how
• 21:57
  fertile
• 21:58
  it
• 21:58
  is
• 21:58
  for
• 21:58
  manipulation
• 21:59
  of
• 21:59
  information
• 22:00
  and
• 22:00
  manipulation
• 22:01
  of
• 22:01
  public
• 22:01
  perception
• 22:02
  of
• 22:02
  the
• 22:02
  info.
• 22:03
  I
• 22:03
  think
• 22:03
  somebody
• 22:04
  sometime
• 22:05
  before
• 22:05
  2017
• 22:06
  decided,
• 22:07
  let's
• 22:08
  get
• 22:08
  people
• 22:08
  interested
• 22:09
  in
• 22:09
  this
• 22:09
  in
• 22:10
  a
• 22:10
  big
• 22:10
  way
• 22:10
  and
• 22:10
  in
• 22:10
  a
• 22:11
  certain
• 22:11
  way.
• 22:11
  And
• 22:12
  I
• 22:12
  don't
• 22:12
  know
• 22:12
  what
• 22:12
  the
• 22:12
  reason
• 22:13
  is.
• 22:13
  I
• 22:13
  don't
• 22:13
  think
• 22:13
  it's
• 22:14
  because
• 22:14
  somebody
• 22:14
  or
• 22:14
  whatever
• 22:15
  group
• 22:15
  doesn't
• 22:15
  want
• 22:15
  to
• 22:15
  say,
• 22:16
  let's
• 22:16
  tell
• 22:16
  everybody
• 22:17
  what
• 22:17
  we
• 22:17
  know
• 22:17
  about
• 22:17
  UFOs
• 22:18
  and
• 22:18
  Rayville.
• 22:18
  It's
• 22:18
  like,
• 22:18
  no,
• 22:19
  it
• 22:19
  has
• 22:19
  something
• 22:19
  to
• 22:19
  do
• 22:19
  with
• 22:20
  intelligence
• 22:21
  and
• 22:22
  political
• 22:22
  theater
• 22:23
  and
• 22:23
  hiding
• 22:24
  technologies
• 22:24
  or
• 22:25
  misdirecting.
• 22:26
  I
• 22:26
  think
• 22:26
  it
• 22:26
  has
• 22:26
  to
• 22:26
  do
• 22:27
  with
• 22:27
  all
• 22:27
  of
• 22:27
  that
• 22:27
  stuff.
• 22:27
  And
• 22:28
  not
• 22:28
  really
• 22:28
  about
• 22:28
  UFOs
• 22:29
  actually.
• 22:30
  One
• 22:30
  thing
• 22:30
  an
• 22:31
  investigator
• 22:31
  told
• 22:32
  me
• 22:32
  once,
• 22:32
  he
• 22:32
  said
• 22:32
  every
• 22:33
  time
• 22:33
  the
• 22:33
  government
• 22:33
  says
• 22:34
  something
• 22:34
  about
• 22:34
  UFOs,
• 22:36
  UFO
• 22:36
  researchers
• 22:37
  think
• 22:37
  it's
• 22:37
  about
• 22:37
  them.
• 22:38
  And
• 22:38
  it's
• 22:38
  never
• 22:38
  about
• 22:39
  them.
• 22:39
  It's
• 22:40
  about
• 22:40
  whatever
• 22:40
  they
• 22:41
  want
• 22:41
  to
• 22:41
  use
• 22:41
  the
• 22:41
  subject
• 22:42
  for.
• 22:42
  My
• 22:43
  theory
• 22:43
  about
• 22:43
  why
• 22:44
  it
• 22:44
  all
• 22:44
  came
• 22:44
  out
• 22:45
  in
• 22:45
  2017
• 22:46
  was
• 22:46
  pretty
• 22:46
  prosaic
• 22:47
  in
• 22:47
  that
• 22:47
  2003
• 22:48
  or
• 22:48
  five
• 22:49
  when
• 22:50
  the
• 22:50
  tic
• 22:50
  Tac
• 22:50
  video
• 22:50
  was
• 22:51
  first
• 22:51
  recorded
• 22:52
  was
• 22:52
  because
• 22:52
  they
• 22:53
  had
• 22:53
  just
• 22:53
  introduced
• 22:54
  forward
• 22:54
  facing
• 22:54
  radar
• 22:55
  technology
• 22:55
  in
• 22:56
  the
• 22:56
  nose
• 22:56
  cones
• 22:56
  of
• 22:56
  these
• 22:57
  F18s
• 22:58
  that
• 22:59
  were.
• 22:59
  So
• 22:59
  talk
• 23:00
  to
• 23:00
  one
• 23:00
  of
• 23:00
  the
• 23:00
  pilots.
• 23:00
  Yeah,
• 23:01
  they
• 23:01
  were
• 23:01
  so
• 23:01
  sick.
• 23:01
  They
• 23:01
  all
• 23:01
  get
• 23:01
  cancer
• 23:02
  from
• 23:02
  it
• 23:02
  because
• 23:02
  of
• 23:02
  the
• 23:03
  or
• 23:03
  a
• 23:04
  lot
• 23:04
  of
• 23:04
  them
• 23:04
  do.
• 23:04
  These
• 23:04
  sensors
• 23:05
  are
• 23:05
  so
• 23:05
  good
• 23:05
  now
• 23:06
  they
• 23:06
  can
• 23:07
  observe
• 23:07
  things
• 23:07
  that
• 23:08
  weren't
• 23:08
  observable
• 23:09
  before.
• 23:10
  And
• 23:10
  so
• 23:10
  these
• 23:11
  flying
• 23:11
  objects
• 23:12
  suddenly
• 23:12
  started
• 23:13
  showing
• 23:13
  up
• 23:13
  on
• 23:13
  these
• 23:14
  new
• 23:14
  Sensors.
• 23:15
  Initially
• 23:15
  they
• 23:16
  thought
• 23:16
  it
• 23:16
  was
• 23:16
  a
• 23:17
  bug
• 23:17
  in
• 23:17
  the
• 23:17
  new
• 23:17
  system,
• 23:18
  but
• 23:18
  then
• 23:19
  it
• 23:19
  instead
• 23:20
  of
• 23:20
  bugs
• 23:20
  in
• 23:20
  a
• 23:20
  flying
• 23:21
  saucer,
• 23:21
  then
• 23:21
  it
• 23:22
  was
• 23:22
  recorded
• 23:22
  on
• 23:22
  their
• 23:22
  infrared.
• 23:23
  And
• 23:24
  then
• 23:24
  eventually
• 23:24
  the
• 23:24
  pilots
• 23:25
  made
• 23:25
  visual
• 23:25
  contact.
• 23:27
  And
• 23:27
  so
• 23:28
  what
• 23:28
  happened
• 23:28
  was
• 23:29
  these
• 23:29
  objects
• 23:30
  were
• 23:30
  flying
• 23:31
  almost
• 23:31
  every
• 23:31
  day
• 23:32
  around
• 23:32
  carrier
• 23:33
  groups.
• 23:33
  It
• 23:33
  was
• 23:34
  a
• 23:34
  daily
• 23:34
  experience.
• 23:35
  And
• 23:35
  some
• 23:35
  of
• 23:35
  these
• 23:36
  guys
• 23:36
  were
• 23:36
  flying
• 23:36
  in
• 23:36
  tight
• 23:37
  formations
• 23:37
  and
• 23:37
  these
• 23:37
  spherical
• 23:38
  objects
• 23:39
  that
• 23:39
  they
• 23:39
  could
• 23:39
  actually
• 23:39
  see
• 23:40
  with
• 23:40
  their
• 23:40
  naked
• 23:40
  eye
• 23:41
  would
• 23:41
  fly
• 23:41
  right
• 23:41
  between
• 23:42
  their
• 23:42
  wings
• 23:42
  at
• 23:43
  supersonic
• 23:43
  speeds
• 23:44
  and
• 23:44
  freak
• 23:44
  them
• 23:45
  out.
• 23:45
  And
• 23:45
  it
• 23:45
  was
• 23:45
  happening
• 23:46
  off
• 23:46
  the
• 23:46
  coast
• 23:46
  of
• 23:46
  Virginia
• 23:47
  as
• 23:47
  well.
• 23:48
  It
• 23:48
  was
• 23:48
  happening
• 23:48
  on
• 23:49
  a
• 23:49
  daily
• 23:49
  basis.
• 23:49
  And
• 23:50
  they
• 23:50
  were
• 23:50
  all
• 23:50
  relieved
• 23:51
  to
• 23:51
  finally
• 23:51
  be
• 23:51
  deployed
• 23:52
  to
• 23:52
  the
• 23:52
  Middle
• 23:52
  east
• 23:52
  because
• 23:52
  they
• 23:53
  thought,
• 23:53
  we're
• 23:53
  going
• 23:53
  to
• 23:53
  get
• 23:53
  away
• 23:53
  from
• 23:54
  these
• 23:54
  UFOs.
• 23:54
  Well,
• 23:54
  the
• 23:55
  UFOs
• 23:55
  followed
• 23:55
  them
• 23:56
  there,
• 23:56
  but
• 23:56
  at
• 23:57
  one
• 23:57
  point
• 23:57
  they
• 23:57
  had
• 23:57
  a
• 23:57
  near
• 23:57
  miss
• 23:58
  and
• 23:58
  the
• 23:59
  pilots
• 23:59
  landed
• 24:00
  at
• 24:00
  the
• 24:00
  base.
• 24:01
  And
• 24:01
  their
• 24:01
  squadron
• 24:02
  commander
• 24:03
  saw
• 24:03
  these
• 24:03
  two
• 24:04
  pilots
• 24:04
  sheet
• 24:04
  white
• 24:05
  and
• 24:05
  said
• 24:05
  what
• 24:05
  happened?
• 24:06
  And
• 24:06
  they
• 24:06
  explained
• 24:06
  what
• 24:07
  happened.
• 24:08
  And
• 24:08
  this
• 24:08
  commander
• 24:09
  who
• 24:09
  was
• 24:09
  frustrated
• 24:10
  with
• 24:10
  the
• 24:10
  chain
• 24:10
  of
• 24:11
  command's
• 24:11
  inability
• 24:11
  or
• 24:12
  unwillingness
• 24:12
  to
• 24:13
  discuss
• 24:13
  these
• 24:13
  things
• 24:14
  and
• 24:14
  he
• 24:15
  didn't
• 24:15
  care
• 24:15
  about
• 24:15
  what
• 24:15
  it
• 24:16
  was.
• 24:16
  He
• 24:16
  was
• 24:16
  concerned
• 24:17
  for
• 24:17
  the
• 24:17
  safety
• 24:17
  of
• 24:17
  his
• 24:18
  pilots,
• 24:18
  of
• 24:18
  course,
• 24:19
  so
• 24:19
  he
• 24:19
  went
• 24:19
  above
• 24:20
  them
• 24:20
  and
• 24:20
  went
• 24:20
  to
• 24:20
  the
• 24:20
  Pentagon
• 24:21
  and
• 24:21
  said,
• 24:21
  listen,
• 24:22
  I
• 24:22
  don't
• 24:22
  care
• 24:22
  what
• 24:23
  it
• 24:23
  is,
• 24:23
  it
• 24:24
  is
• 24:24
  a
• 24:24
  safety
• 24:24
  issue.
• 24:25
  Yeah.
• 24:25
  And
• 24:25
  that's
• 24:26
  how
• 24:26
  it
• 24:26
  all
• 24:26
  blew
• 24:26
  up.
• 24:27
  Yeah.
• 24:27
  No,
• 24:28
  that
• 24:28
  is
• 24:28
  another
• 24:29
  reason.
• 24:29
  I
• 24:29
  never
• 24:29
  think
• 24:30
  that
• 24:30
  when
• 24:30
  the
• 24:31
  intelligence
• 24:31
  community
• 24:31
  and
• 24:32
  all
• 24:32
  that
• 24:32
  moves
• 24:32
  in
• 24:32
  a
• 24:32
  certain
• 24:33
  direction,
• 24:33
  they
• 24:33
  don't
• 24:34
  do
• 24:34
  it
• 24:34
  for
• 24:34
  one
• 24:34
  reason.
• 24:34
  They
• 24:35
  do
• 24:35
  it
• 24:35
  for
• 24:35
  like
• 24:35
  eight
• 24:35
  or
• 24:36
  10
• 24:36
  or
• 24:36
  20
• 24:36
  reasons.
• 24:37
  And
• 24:38
  that
• 24:38
  was
• 24:38
  one
• 24:38
  of
• 24:38
  the
• 24:38
  reasons.
• 24:39
  It's
• 24:39
  like
• 24:40
  a
• 24:40
  good
• 24:41
  effect
• 24:42
  of
• 24:42
  this
• 24:42
  happening
• 24:43
  is
• 24:43
  basically
• 24:44
  they've
• 24:44
  taken
• 24:44
  the
• 24:45
  entire
• 24:46
  scientific
• 24:46
  and
• 24:46
  UFO
• 24:47
  and
• 24:47
  all
• 24:47
  that
• 24:47
  community
• 24:47
  and
• 24:48
  turned
• 24:48
  them
• 24:48
  all
• 24:48
  into
• 24:49
  researchers.
• 24:49
  For
• 24:49
  them,
• 24:50
  it's
• 24:50
  like
• 24:50
  crowdsourcing
• 24:51
  UFO
• 24:51
  research.
• 24:53
  And
• 24:53
  apart
• 24:53
  from
• 24:54
  the
• 24:54
  government
• 24:54
  starting
• 24:55
  this,
• 24:55
  I
• 24:55
  think
• 24:55
  it's
• 24:56
  great.
• 24:56
  I
• 24:56
  mean,
• 24:56
  the
• 24:56
  most
• 24:56
  interesting
• 24:57
  conversations
• 24:57
  I've
• 24:58
  had
• 24:58
  about
• 24:58
  this
• 24:59
  at
• 24:59
  this
• 24:59
  point
• 24:59
  are
• 24:59
  with
• 25:00
  academics.
• 25:00
  Like
• 25:00
  they're
• 25:01
  asking
• 25:01
  questions
• 25:01
  I
• 25:02
  haven't
• 25:02
  ever
• 25:02
  heard
• 25:03
  because
• 25:03
  I've
• 25:03
  been
• 25:03
  hearing
• 25:04
  the
• 25:04
  same
• 25:04
  dumb
• 25:05
  questions
• 25:05
  about
• 25:05
  this
• 25:05
  for
• 25:06
  30,
• 25:07
  40
• 25:07
  years.
• 25:07
  It's
• 25:07
  high
• 25:08
  time
• 25:08
  you
• 25:08
  keep
• 25:08
  this
• 25:09
  kind
• 25:09
  of
• 25:09
  information
• 25:09
  away
• 25:10
  from
• 25:10
  people.
• 25:11
  It
• 25:11
  stunts
• 25:12
  evolutionary
• 25:13
  progress.
• 25:14
  We
• 25:14
  look
• 25:14
  at
• 25:14
  a
• 25:15
  pretty
• 25:15
  frustrated,
• 25:16
  angry
• 25:16
  public
• 25:17
  these
• 25:17
  days
• 25:18
  because
• 25:18
  so
• 25:18
  much
• 25:18
  information
• 25:19
  is
• 25:19
  handled
• 25:20
  and
• 25:20
  people
• 25:21
  instinctively.
• 25:22
  What
• 25:22
  I
• 25:22
  understand
• 25:22
  is
• 25:22
  that,
• 25:23
  yeah,
• 25:23
  there's
• 25:23
  no
• 25:23
  honest
• 25:24
  brokering
• 25:24
  here.
• 25:25
  There
• 25:25
  may
• 25:25
  be
• 25:25
  good
• 25:26
  reason
• 25:26
  for
• 25:26
  keeping
• 25:27
  what's
• 25:27
  going
• 25:27
  on
• 25:27
  in
• 25:28
  the
• 25:28
  skies
• 25:28
  secret,
• 25:29
  but
• 25:30
  treating
• 25:30
  it
• 25:30
  the
• 25:30
  way
• 25:31
  they
• 25:31
  have
• 25:31
  has
• 25:32
  been
• 25:32
  a
• 25:32
  disservice
• 25:33
  to
• 25:34
  general
• 25:34
  public
• 25:34
  knowledge.
• 25:35
  And
• 25:36
  I
• 25:36
  think
• 25:36
  it's
• 25:36
  starting
• 25:37
  to
• 25:37
  fester
• 25:37
  in
• 25:38
  a
• 25:38
  bad
• 25:38
  way.
• 25:39
  But
• 25:39
  let's
• 25:40
  focus
• 25:40
  back
• 25:40
  on
• 25:40
  Benowitz
• 25:41
  and
• 25:41
  Kirtland,
• 25:42
  because
• 25:42
  Kirtland
• 25:43
  arguably
• 25:44
  had
• 25:44
  some
• 25:44
  weird
• 25:45
  things
• 25:45
  going
• 25:45
  on
• 25:45
  there.
• 25:46
  It's
• 25:46
  been
• 25:46
  fairly
• 25:47
  well
• 25:47
  documented
• 25:48
  that
• 25:48
  UFOs
• 25:48
  and
• 25:49
  the
• 25:49
  phenomena
• 25:50
  has
• 25:50
  shown
• 25:50
  a
• 25:51
  big
• 25:51
  interest
• 25:52
  in
• 25:52
  nuclear
• 25:52
  technology.
• 25:53
  They've
• 25:54
  been
• 25:54
  cited,
• 25:54
  they've
• 25:54
  shut
• 25:55
  down
• 25:55
  ICBMs
• 25:56
  both
• 25:57
  here
• 25:57
  and
• 25:57
  in
• 25:57
  Russia.
• 25:58
  Yeah.
• 25:58
  They
• 25:58
  have
• 25:59
  floated
• 26:00
  over
• 26:00
  missile
• 26:01
  sites.
• 26:01
  They
• 26:01
  have
• 26:01
  been
• 26:01
  seen
• 26:02
  over
• 26:02
  nuclear
• 26:03
  power
• 26:03
  plants.
• 26:03
  So
• 26:03
  Kirtland
• 26:04
  being
• 26:04
  one
• 26:04
  of
• 26:04
  the
• 26:05
  major
• 26:06
  nuclear
• 26:06
  facilities
• 26:07
  in
• 26:07
  the
• 26:07
  Air
• 26:07
  Force,
• 26:08
  it
• 26:08
  would
• 26:08
  make
• 26:08
  sense
• 26:09
  along
• 26:10
  that
• 26:10
  logic
• 26:11
  that
• 26:11
  there
• 26:11
  would
• 26:11
  be
• 26:12
  unknowns
• 26:13
  over
• 26:13
  that
• 26:13
  area.
• 26:14
  So
• 26:14
  is
• 26:14
  it
• 26:14
  possible
• 26:14
  that
• 26:15
  Benowitz
• 26:15
  did
• 26:16
  see
• 26:16
  unknowns?
• 26:16
  Oh,
• 26:17
  yeah,
• 26:17
  I
• 26:17
  think
• 26:17
  there
• 26:17
  were
• 26:17
  actual
• 26:18
  unknowns
• 26:18
  over
• 26:18
  there.
• 26:19
  And
• 26:19
  if
• 26:19
  you
• 26:19
  trust
• 26:20
  a
• 26:20
  couple
• 26:20
  of
• 26:20
  documents
• 26:21
  that
• 26:21
  were
• 26:21
  released
• 26:22
  around
• 26:23
  the
• 26:23
  time
• 26:23
  that
• 26:24
  this
• 26:24
  stuff
• 26:24
  was
• 26:25
  going
• 26:25
  on,
• 26:26
  supposedly
• 26:27
  through

  foia.
• 26:28
  I
• 26:28
  don't
• 26:28
  know
• 26:28
  the
• 26:28
  provenance,
• 26:29
  but
• 26:29
  it
• 26:30
  described
• 26:31
  strange
• 26:31
  lights
• 26:32
  landing
• 26:32
  near
• 26:33
  nuclear
• 26:33
  facilities
• 26:34
  or
• 26:34
  at
• 26:34
  least
• 26:34
  on
• 26:34
  the
• 26:34
  base
• 26:35
  which
• 26:35
  had
• 26:35
  nuclear
• 26:35
  weapons.
• 26:36
  And
• 26:36
  I
• 26:36
  don't
• 26:37
  know
• 26:37
  if
• 26:37
  they
• 26:37
  had
• 26:37
  a
• 26:37
  bomber
• 26:37
  wing
• 26:37
  there,
• 26:38
  but
• 26:38
  the
• 26:38
  nuclear
• 26:38
  weapons
• 26:39
  were
• 26:39
  stored
• 26:40
  there
• 26:40
  and
• 26:40
  all
• 26:40
  these
• 26:41
  high
• 26:41
  technology
• 26:42
  things
• 26:42
  were
• 26:42
  being
• 26:43
  developed
• 26:43
  there
• 26:43
  like
• 26:43
  airborne
• 26:44
  lasers
• 26:44
  and,
• 26:45
  and
• 26:45
  other
• 26:45
  lasers.
• 26:46
  Medical
• 26:46
  testing
• 26:47
  was
• 26:47
  going
• 26:47
  on
• 26:47
  at
• 26:47
  least
• 26:48
  in
• 26:48
  the
• 26:48
  early
• 26:48
  parts
• 26:48
  of
• 26:49
  the.
• 26:49
  Right
• 26:49
  after
• 26:50
  World
• 26:50
  War
• 26:50
  II.
• 26:50
  Any
• 26:51
  kind
• 26:51
  of
• 26:51
  rumors
• 26:51
  of
• 26:52
  reverse
• 26:52
  engineering
• 26:53
  or
• 26:53
  anything
• 26:54
  like
• 26:54
  that,
• 26:55
  I
• 26:55
  don't
• 26:55
  think
• 26:55
  associated
• 26:56
  with
• 26:56
  Kirtland.
• 26:57
  All
• 26:58
  the
• 26:58
  recovered
• 26:58
  craft
• 26:59
  and
• 26:59
  all
• 26:59
  that
• 26:59
  other
• 26:59
  stuff
• 26:59
  was
• 27:00
  more
• 27:00
  concentrated
• 27:01
  on
• 27:01
  Wright
• 27:01
  Patterson
• 27:02
  Air
• 27:02
  Force
• 27:02
  Base
• 27:03
  and
• 27:03
  I
• 27:03
  guess
• 27:03
  Area
• 27:04
  51
• 27:04
  later.
• 27:05
  I
• 27:05
  could
• 27:05
  be
• 27:05
  wrong,
• 27:06
  but
• 27:06
  I
• 27:06
  don't
• 27:06
  know
• 27:06
  if
• 27:07
  any
• 27:07
  of
• 27:07
  that
• 27:07
  backend
• 27:08
  engineering
• 27:08
  stuff
• 27:09
  was
• 27:09
  ever
• 27:09
  associated
• 27:09
  with
• 27:10
  Sandy.
• 27:10
  Alas,
• 27:10
  in
• 27:11
  Kirtland,
• 27:11
  they
• 27:11
  were
• 27:12
  just
• 27:12
  purely
• 27:12
  developing
• 27:13
  stuff
• 27:13
  here
• 27:13
  for
• 27:14
  intelligence
• 27:14
  and
• 27:15
  the
• 27:15
  military.
• 27:15
  One
• 27:16
  of
• 27:16
  them
• 27:16
  was
• 27:16
  the
• 27:17
  adaptive
• 27:17
  optics
• 27:18
  at
• 27:18
  the
• 27:19
  Starfire
• 27:19
  Optical
• 27:19
  Range.
• 27:19
  It's
• 27:20
  fascinating.
• 27:20
  Now,
• 27:21
  talk
• 27:21
  about
• 27:21
  this.
• 27:22
  They
• 27:22
  came
• 27:22
  up
• 27:22
  with
• 27:22
  a
• 27:23
  technology
• 27:23
  where
• 27:23
  they
• 27:24
  could
• 27:24
  photograph
• 27:25
  details
• 27:26
  of
• 27:26
  overflying
• 27:27
  Soviet
• 27:28
  satellites
• 27:29
  in
• 27:29
  orbit
• 27:29
  from
• 27:30
  the
• 27:30
  ground,
• 27:31
  even
• 27:31
  in
• 27:31
  broad
• 27:31
  daylight.
• 27:32
  They
• 27:32
  probably
• 27:33
  knew
• 27:33
  every
• 27:33
  single
• 27:34
  spy
• 27:34
  satellite
• 27:34
  that
• 27:34
  was
• 27:35
  coming
• 27:35
  over
• 27:35
  the
• 27:35
  United
• 27:35
  States
• 27:35
  at
• 27:36
  the
• 27:36
  time.
• 27:37
  So
• 27:37
  it's
• 27:37
  like,
• 27:37
  okay,
• 27:38
  this
• 27:38
  one's
• 27:38
  coming
• 27:38
  over.
• 27:38
  This
• 27:39
  one's
• 27:39
  coming
• 27:39
  because
• 27:39
  when
• 27:40
  you're
• 27:40
  looking
• 27:40
  at
• 27:40
  stuff
• 27:40
  through
• 27:41
  a
• 27:41
  telescope,
• 27:41
  an
• 27:41
  optical
• 27:42
  telescope,
• 27:43
  the
• 27:43
  air
• 27:43
  has
• 27:43
  different.
• 27:44
  It
• 27:44
  messes
• 27:45
  up.
• 27:46
  It's
• 27:46
  why
• 27:46
  stars
• 27:47
  twinkle.
• 27:47
  Yeah,
• 27:48
  it
• 27:48
  bends
• 27:48
  the
• 27:48
  light.
• 27:49
  And
• 27:49
  if
• 27:49
  it
• 27:50
  does
• 27:50
  that,
• 27:50
  you
• 27:50
  can't
• 27:51
  really
• 27:51
  tell
• 27:51
  what
• 27:51
  you're
• 27:51
  looking
• 27:52
  at
• 27:52
  in
• 27:52
  space.
• 27:52
  It's
• 27:52
  going
• 27:53
  to
• 27:53
  be
• 27:53
  blurred
• 27:53
  out.
• 27:54
  So
• 27:54
  what
• 27:54
  adaptive
• 27:54
  optics
• 27:55
  did,
• 27:55
  which
• 27:55
  was
• 27:55
  developed
• 27:56
  at
• 27:56
  kirtland
• 27:57
  in
• 27:57
  the
• 27:57
  70s,
• 27:58
  astronomy
• 27:59
  didn't
• 27:59
  hear
• 27:59
  about
• 27:59
  it
• 27:59
  until
• 27:59
  the
• 27:59
  early
• 28:00
  90s.
• 28:00
  And
• 28:00
  the
• 28:00
  military
• 28:01
  finally
• 28:01
  said,
• 28:01
  okay,
• 28:01
  you
• 28:02
  can
• 28:02
  have
• 28:02
  it,
• 28:03
  but
• 28:03
  what
• 28:03
  they
• 28:03
  did
• 28:03
  was
• 28:03
  they'd
• 28:04
  shoot
• 28:04
  a
• 28:04
  laser
• 28:04
  through
• 28:05
  the
• 28:05
  atmosphere,
• 28:05
  and
• 28:06
  a
• 28:06
  camera
• 28:06
  or
• 28:06
  some
• 28:07
  sensor
• 28:07
  would
• 28:07
  figure
• 28:07
  out
• 28:08
  which
• 28:08
  way
• 28:08
  the
• 28:08
  laser
• 28:09
  light
• 28:09
  was
• 28:09
  being
• 28:09
  bent.
• 28:11
  And
• 28:11
  there
• 28:12
  was
• 28:12
  a
• 28:12
  mirror,
• 28:13
  like
• 28:13
  a
• 28:13
  big
• 28:14
  reflecting
• 28:14
  telescope,
• 28:15
  the
• 28:15
  objective
• 28:16
  mirror.
• 28:16
  It
• 28:16
  had
• 28:16
  plungers
• 28:17
  under
• 28:17
  it.
• 28:18
  Now
• 28:18
  it's
• 28:18
  done
• 28:18
  digitally,
• 28:19
  but
• 28:19
  at
• 28:19
  that
• 28:20
  time,
• 28:20
  it
• 28:20
  had
• 28:20
  little
• 28:20
  plungers
• 28:21
  that
• 28:21
  would
• 28:21
  deform
• 28:22
  the
• 28:22
  mirror
• 28:23
  exactly
• 28:24
  the
• 28:24
  opposite
• 28:24
  way
• 28:25
  that
• 28:25
  the
• 28:25
  atmosphere
• 28:25
  was
• 28:26
  bending
• 28:26
  it.
• 28:27
  So
• 28:27
  it
• 28:27
  was
• 28:27
  basically
• 28:28
  reacting
• 28:28
  to
• 28:28
  the
• 28:28
  natural.
• 28:29
  Strangely
• 28:30
  clever.
• 28:30
  It
• 28:31
  was
• 28:31
  like
• 28:31
  a
• 28:32
  camera
• 28:32
  stabilization.
• 28:33
  Yeah,
• 28:33
  yeah.
• 28:34
  Like
• 28:34
  steampunk,
• 28:35
  too.
• 28:35
  Yeah,
• 28:37
  yeah.
• 28:37
  At
• 28:37
  this
• 28:37
  point,
• 28:38
  it
• 28:38
  was.
• 28:39
  When
• 28:39
  you
• 28:39
  talk
• 28:39
  about
• 28:39
  it
• 28:40
  that
• 28:40
  way,
• 28:40
  and
• 28:40
  not
• 28:40
  only
• 28:40
  that,
• 28:41
  but
• 28:41
  as
• 28:41
  you
• 28:41
  wrote
• 28:41
  in
• 28:41
  the
• 28:42
  book
• 28:42
  was
• 28:42
  once
• 28:42
  they
• 28:43
  were
• 28:43
  able
• 28:43
  to
• 28:43
  do
• 28:43
  that,
• 28:44
  they
• 28:44
  were
• 28:44
  able
• 28:45
  to
• 28:45
  send
• 28:45
  messages
• 28:46
  somehow
• 28:46
  to
• 28:47
  the
• 28:47
  Soviet
• 28:48
  craft
• 28:49
  and
• 28:50
  reorient
• 28:50
  them.
• 28:50
  So
• 28:51
  they
• 28:51
  would
• 28:51
  go
• 28:51
  off
• 28:51
  course
• 28:52
  and
• 28:52
  making
• 28:52
  the
• 28:52
  Russians
• 28:53
  think
• 28:53
  that
• 28:54
  something
• 28:54
  went
• 28:54
  wrong
• 28:54
  with
• 28:54
  their
• 28:55
  technology.
• 28:55
  Yeah,
• 28:56
  as
• 28:56
  the
• 28:56
  way
• 28:56
  it
• 28:56
  was
• 28:56
  told
• 28:56
  to
• 28:56
  me,
• 28:56
  that
• 28:57
  would
• 28:57
  point
• 28:57
  the
• 28:57
  camera
• 28:57
  in
• 28:57
  a
• 28:58
  different
• 28:58
  direction.
• 28:58
  It
• 28:59
  would
• 28:59
  come
• 28:59
  over
• 28:59
  our
• 28:59
  side
• 28:59
  of
• 28:59
  the
• 29:00
  globe,
• 29:00
  it
• 29:00
  would
• 29:00
  do
• 29:00
  its
• 29:01
  thing,
• 29:01
  and
• 29:01
  then
• 29:01
  would
• 29:01
  come
• 29:01
  back
• 29:01
  over
• 29:02
  the
• 29:02
  other
• 29:02
  side.
• 29:02
  The
• 29:02
  Russians
• 29:03
  would
• 29:03
  pull
• 29:03
  down
• 29:04
  all
• 29:04
  the
• 29:04
  photographic
• 29:05
  information
• 29:05
  and
• 29:05
  all
• 29:05
  that.
• 29:06
  So
• 29:06
  what
• 29:06
  happened
• 29:07
  was
• 29:07
  they
• 29:07
  figured
• 29:07
  they
• 29:07
  had
• 29:08
  people
• 29:08
  in
• 29:08
  Russia,
• 29:09
  apparently,
• 29:10
  that
• 29:10
  were
• 29:10
  working
• 29:10
  in
• 29:11
  these
• 29:11
  plants
• 29:11
  that
• 29:12
  were
• 29:12
  making
• 29:12
  the
• 29:12
  satellites,
• 29:14
  and
• 29:14
  they
• 29:14
  figured
• 29:14
  out
• 29:15
  how
• 29:15
  to
• 29:15
  control.
• 29:16
  And
• 29:16
  they
• 29:16
  weren't
• 29:16
  controlled,
• 29:17
  I
• 29:17
  think,
• 29:17
  with
• 29:17
  radio
• 29:18
  waves,
• 29:18
  because
• 29:18
  those
• 29:18
  can
• 29:19
  be
• 29:19
  intercepted.
• 29:19
  They
• 29:20
  were
• 29:20
  controlled
• 29:20
  by
• 29:20
  lasers,
• 29:21
  I
• 29:22
  believe.
• 29:22
  So
• 29:22
  they
• 29:23
  would
• 29:23
  send
• 29:23
  laser
• 29:23
  pulses
• 29:24
  to
• 29:24
  the
• 29:24
  satellite
• 29:24
  to
• 29:25
  tell
• 29:25
  it
• 29:25
  what
• 29:25
  to
• 29:25
  do
• 29:25
  and
• 29:25
  where
• 29:26
  the
• 29:26
  cameras
• 29:26
  to
• 29:26
  point
• 29:26
  and
• 29:26
  all
• 29:26
  that.
• 29:28
  So
• 29:28
  when
• 29:28
  it
• 29:28
  came
• 29:28
  over
• 29:28
  the
• 29:29
  United
• 29:29
  States,
• 29:30
  every
• 29:30
  few
• 29:31
  times,
• 29:31
  they
• 29:31
  would
• 29:31
  tell
• 29:32
  the
• 29:32
  camera
• 29:32
  to
• 29:32
  point
• 29:33
  in
• 29:33
  a
• 29:33
  different
• 29:33
  direction.
• 29:33
  Then
• 29:33
  it'd
• 29:34
  come
• 29:34
  back
• 29:34
  over
• 29:34
  Russia,
• 29:34
  and
• 29:34
  they'd
• 29:35
  go,
• 29:35
  what's
• 29:35
  going
• 29:35
  on?
• 29:35
  We
• 29:36
  had
• 29:36
  pointed
• 29:36
  it
• 29:36
  in
• 29:36
  the
• 29:36
  right
• 29:37
  direction,
• 29:38
  and
• 29:38
  they'd
• 29:39
  reorient
• 29:39
  it.
• 29:39
  And
• 29:40
  then
• 29:40
  they'd
• 29:40
  come
• 29:40
  over
• 29:40
  and
• 29:40
  they'd
• 29:40
  just
• 29:40
  leave
• 29:41
  it
• 29:41
  alone
• 29:41
  for
• 29:41
  a
• 29:41
  couple
• 29:41
  more.
• 29:42
  And
• 29:42
  they
• 29:42
  would
• 29:43
  do
• 29:43
  this
• 29:43
  with
• 29:43
  all
• 29:43
  these
• 29:43
  satellites.
• 29:44
  And
• 29:44
  so,
• 29:45
  one,
• 29:45
  it
• 29:45
  would
• 29:45
  mess
• 29:46
  up
• 29:46
  their
• 29:46
  intelligence
• 29:46
  a
• 29:47
  little
• 29:47
  bit,
• 29:47
  and
• 29:47
  two,
• 29:47
  it
• 29:48
  would
• 29:48
  make
• 29:48
  the
• 29:48
  Russians
• 29:49
  wonder
• 29:49
  what
• 29:49
  was
• 29:49
  going
• 29:49
  on
• 29:50
  and
• 29:50
  if
• 29:50
  there's
• 29:50
  something
• 29:50
  wrong
• 29:51
  with
• 29:51
  our
• 29:51
  satellite.
• 29:52
  But
• 29:52
  they
• 29:52
  didn't
• 29:52
  want
• 29:52
  the
• 29:53
  general
• 29:53
  public
• 29:53
  to
• 29:53
  know
• 29:54
  this,
• 29:54
  obviously.
• 29:55
  But
• 29:55
  that
• 29:55
  was
• 29:56
  just
• 29:56
  one
• 29:56
  of
• 29:56
  the
• 29:56
  projects
• 29:56
  that
• 29:57
  was
• 29:57
  going
• 29:57
  on
• 29:57
  there.
• 29:57
  I
• 29:58
  don't
• 29:58
  know
• 29:58
  if
• 29:58
  it
• 29:58
  was
• 29:59
  related
• 29:59
  to
• 29:59
  Benowitz.
• 30:00
  I
• 30:00
  do
• 30:00
  have
• 30:01
  a
• 30:01
  photo
• 30:01
  that
• 30:01
  was
• 30:01
  taken
• 30:02
  in
• 30:02
  daylight.
• 30:03
  Bennewitz
• 30:03
  was
• 30:04
  talking
• 30:04
  to
• 30:04
  Bill
• 30:05
  Moore,
• 30:05
  and
• 30:05
  he
• 30:05
  told
• 30:05
  Bill,
• 30:06
  take
• 30:06
  your
• 30:07
  camera
• 30:07
  and
• 30:07
  point
• 30:08
  it
• 30:08
  at
• 30:08
  the
• 30:08
  base
• 30:09
  and
• 30:10
  put
• 30:10
  it
• 30:10
  on,
• 30:10
  like,
• 30:10
  a
• 30:10
  thousandth
• 30:11
  of
• 30:11
  a
• 30:11
  second.
• 30:11
  He
• 30:12
  said,
• 30:12
  why
• 30:12
  a
• 30:12
  thousandth?
• 30:13
  He
• 30:13
  goes,
• 30:13
  well,
• 30:13
  you'll
• 30:14
  see.
• 30:14
  And
• 30:15
  he
• 30:15
  just
• 30:15
  said,
• 30:15
  take
• 30:15
  a
• 30:15
  bunch
• 30:15
  of
• 30:15
  pictures.
• 30:16
  He
• 30:16
  said,
• 30:16
  there's
• 30:16
  a
• 30:17
  whole
• 30:17
  bunch
• 30:17
  of
• 30:17
  pictures
• 30:17
  he
• 30:17
  took.
• 30:17
  And
• 30:18
  one
• 30:18
  picture
• 30:18
  he
• 30:18
  took.
• 30:19
  There's
• 30:19
  a
• 30:19
  light
• 30:19
  coming
• 30:20
  up,
• 30:20
  like
• 30:20
  a
• 30:21
  column
• 30:21
  of
• 30:21
  light
• 30:21
  coming
• 30:21
  up
• 30:22
  from
• 30:22
  the
• 30:22
  base
• 30:22
  in
• 30:22
  broad
• 30:23
  daylight.
• 30:23
  And
• 30:24
  it
• 30:24
  stops
• 30:25
  mid
• 30:25
  atmosphere.
• 30:26
  It
• 30:26
  just
• 30:26
  like
• 30:26
  a
• 30:27
  light
• 30:27
  goes
• 30:27
  up
• 30:27
  and
• 30:27
  then
• 30:27
  it
• 30:27
  just
• 30:27
  stops.
• 30:28
  Like
• 30:28
  somebody
• 30:28
  put
• 30:28
  a
• 30:29
  wall
• 30:29
  there.
• 30:29
  And
• 30:29
  I
• 30:30
  don't
• 30:30
  know
• 30:30
  what
• 30:30
  that
• 30:30
  was,
• 30:30
  but
• 30:31
  it
• 30:31
  might
• 30:31
  have
• 30:31
  been
• 30:31
  part
• 30:31
  of
• 30:31
  that
• 30:32
  technology.
• 30:32
  Like
• 30:32
  a
• 30:32
  pulse.
• 30:33
  Yeah.
• 30:33
  Wow.
• 30:34
  And
• 30:34
  I
• 30:34
  bet
• 30:34
  Benowitz
• 30:35
  was
• 30:35
  told
• 30:35
  to
• 30:35
  do
• 30:35
  that
• 30:36
  too
• 30:36
  by
• 30:36
  some
• 30:36
  government
• 30:37
  contact
• 30:37
  just
• 30:38
  to
• 30:38
  keep
• 30:38
  his
• 30:38
  interest.
• 30:39
  You
• 30:39
  know,
• 30:40
  as
• 30:40
  an
• 30:40
  aside,
• 30:41
  Art
• 30:41
  Bell,
• 30:42
  who
• 30:42
  was
• 30:42
  the
• 30:42
  king
• 30:43
  of
• 30:43
  late
• 30:43
  night
• 30:43
  talk
• 30:44
  radio
• 30:44
  and
• 30:45
  ufo.
• 30:47
  I
• 30:47
  told
• 30:47
  you
• 30:47
  my
• 30:47
  first
• 30:48
  interview
• 30:48
  ever
• 30:49
  radio
• 30:49
  interview
• 30:49
  was
• 30:50
  Art
• 30:50
  Bell.
• 30:50
  No,
• 30:51
  that's
• 30:51
  not
• 30:51
  too
• 30:51
  intimidating.
• 30:53
  It
• 30:53
  was
• 30:53
  very
• 30:53
  intimidating.
• 30:54
  George
• 30:54
  Bell
• 30:55
  cracks
• 30:55
  like
• 30:56
  Garnet
• 30:56
  Bell.
• 30:56
  Well,
• 30:56
  when
• 30:56
  he
• 30:57
  was
• 30:57
  starting
• 30:57
  to
• 30:57
  crack
• 30:58
  and
• 30:58
  he
• 30:58
  had
• 30:59
  weird
• 30:59
  stuff
• 30:59
  happening,
• 31:00
  started
• 31:00
  to
• 31:00
  really
• 31:01
  throw
• 31:01
  him.
• 31:01
  He
• 31:01
  was
• 31:02
  knocked
• 31:02
  off
• 31:02
  the
• 31:02
  air
• 31:02
  for
• 31:03
  20
• 31:03
  minutes.
• 31:03
  Yeah,
• 31:04
  I
• 31:04
  remember
• 31:04
  that.
• 31:05
  It
• 31:05
  freaked
• 31:05
  him
• 31:05
  out
• 31:06
  because
• 31:06
  it
• 31:06
  was
• 31:06
  the
• 31:06
  satellite
• 31:07
  that
• 31:07
  would
• 31:07
  beam
• 31:08
  his
• 31:08
  show
• 31:08
  to
• 31:09
  all
• 31:09
  the
• 31:09
  affiliates.
• 31:10
  And
• 31:10
  he
• 31:11
  was
• 31:11
  told
• 31:11
  by
• 31:11
  the
• 31:11
  satellite
• 31:12
  company
• 31:12
  that
• 31:12
  the
• 31:12
  satellite
• 31:13
  itself
• 31:13
  had
• 31:13
  been
• 31:14
  jarred.
• 31:16
  So
• 31:16
  Bell
• 31:17
  went
• 31:17
  nuts
• 31:17
  thinking
• 31:17
  the
• 31:18
  UFOs.
• 31:20
  And
• 31:20
  I'm
• 31:20
  thinking
• 31:21
  in
• 31:21
  terms
• 31:21
  of
• 31:21
  what
• 31:21
  you're
• 31:21
  saying,
• 31:22
  maybe
• 31:22
  some
• 31:22
  laser
• 31:23
  technology
• 31:23
  knocked
• 31:24
  the.
• 31:24
  Who
• 31:24
  knows
• 31:25
  what
• 31:25
  they
• 31:25
  did
• 31:25
  to
• 31:25
  Art,
• 31:26
  but
• 31:26
  they
• 31:26
  definitely
• 31:27
  messed
• 31:27
  with
• 31:27
  him
• 31:28
  big
• 31:28
  time.
• 31:29
  I
• 31:29
  tend
• 31:29
  to
• 31:29
  believe
• 31:30
  that,
• 31:30
  which
• 31:30
  makes
• 31:30
  me
• 31:31
  the
• 31:31
  least
• 31:31
  paranoid.
• 31:32
  Even
• 31:32
  if
• 31:32
  it's
• 31:32
  wrong,
• 31:34
  it's
• 31:34
  just
• 31:34
  a
• 31:34
  survival
• 31:35
  mechanism.
• 31:35
  I'm
• 31:36
  still
• 31:36
  open
• 31:36
  to
• 31:36
  the
• 31:37
  paranoid
• 31:37
  stuff.
• 31:37
  You
• 31:37
  wrote
• 31:38
  something
• 31:38
  in
• 31:38
  the
• 31:38
  book
• 31:38
  that
• 31:38
  really
• 31:39
  kind
• 31:39
  of
• 31:39
  blew
• 31:39
  our
• 31:39
  minds,
• 31:40
  which
• 31:40
  was,
• 31:40
  uh.
• 31:40
  Oh,
• 31:40
  what
• 31:41
  did
• 31:41
  I
• 31:41
  write?
• 31:41
  Well,
• 31:41
  you
• 31:41
  wrote
• 31:42
  that
• 31:42
  not
• 31:42
  only
• 31:42
  did
• 31:43
  you.
• 31:43
  Did
• 31:43
  Benowitz
• 31:44
  see
• 31:45
  orbs
• 31:46
  inside
• 31:46
  his
• 31:46
  home
• 31:47
  that
• 31:47
  were
• 31:48
  not
• 31:48
  connected
• 31:49
  to
• 31:49
  any
• 31:49
  incandescent
• 31:50
  lamps,
• 31:50
  Little
• 31:50
  glowing
• 31:51
  orbs.
• 31:51
  Glowing
• 31:52
  orbs.
• 31:52
  I
• 31:52
  have
• 31:52
  two
• 31:53
  other
• 31:53
  witnesses
• 31:53
  too,
• 31:54
  besides.
• 31:55
  Because
• 31:55
  in
• 31:55
  bed
• 31:56
  told.
• 31:56
  Yes.
• 31:57
  Under
• 31:57
  his
• 31:58
  staircase
• 31:58
  or
• 31:58
  his
• 31:58
  living
• 31:59
  room
• 31:59
  or
• 31:59
  something.
• 31:59
  It
• 32:00
  was
• 32:00
  like.
• 32:00
  I
• 32:00
  don't
• 32:00
  even
• 32:00
  remember
• 32:01
  writing
• 32:01
  it.
• 32:01
  Yeah,
• 32:01
  it
• 32:02
  was
• 32:02
  in
• 32:02
  the
• 32:02
  house.
• 32:03
  I
• 32:03
  remember
• 32:03
  there
• 32:03
  was
• 32:03
  one
• 32:03
  book.
• 32:04
  Yeah,
• 32:04
  I
• 32:04
  should
• 32:04
  read
• 32:04
  my
• 32:04
  own
• 32:05
  book.
• 32:05
  It's
• 32:05
  20
• 32:06
  years
• 32:06
  ago.
• 32:06
  All
• 32:07
  I
• 32:07
  remember
• 32:07
  is
• 32:07
  they
• 32:07
  were
• 32:07
  floating
• 32:08
  up
• 32:08
  near
• 32:08
  the
• 32:08
  ceiling.
• 32:09
  And
• 32:09
  Bill
• 32:10
  was
• 32:10
  there.
• 32:10
  When
• 32:11
  he
• 32:11
  told
• 32:11
  me
• 32:11
  the
• 32:11
  story,
• 32:12
  he
• 32:12
  said,
• 32:13
  paul,
• 32:14
  what's
• 32:14
  that?
• 32:15
  And
• 32:15
  Paul
• 32:15
  said,
• 32:15
  oh,
• 32:16
  those
• 32:16
  are
• 32:16
  here
• 32:16
  all
• 32:16
  the
• 32:16
  time.
• 32:17
  Like
• 32:17
  he
• 32:17
  accepted
• 32:18
  that
• 32:18
  they
• 32:18
  were
• 32:18
  part
• 32:18
  of
• 32:19
  like
• 32:19
  a
• 32:19
  plasma.
• 32:20
  Yeah.
• 32:20
  Whatever
• 32:20
  he
• 32:20
  was
• 32:20
  doing,
• 32:21
  he
• 32:21
  said
• 32:21
  they
• 32:21
  were
• 32:21
  about
• 32:21
  the
• 32:21
  size
• 32:22
  of
• 32:22
  maybe
• 32:22
  like
• 32:22
  a
• 32:23
  grapefruit
• 32:23
  or
• 32:23
  a
• 32:23
  softball.
• 32:24
  They
• 32:24
  were
• 32:25
  orange
• 32:25
  or
• 32:25
  peach
• 32:26
  colored.
• 32:26
  And
• 32:27
  if
• 32:27
  you
• 32:27
  went
• 32:27
  up
• 32:27
  to.
• 32:27
  If
• 32:27
  you
• 32:28
  got
• 32:28
  on
• 32:28
  a
• 32:28
  ladder,
• 32:28
  went
• 32:28
  to
• 32:29
  the
• 32:29
  ceiling
• 32:29
  and
• 32:29
  tried
• 32:29
  to
• 32:29
  touch
• 32:29
  them
• 32:30
  or
• 32:30
  whatever.
• 32:30
  He
• 32:30
  said
• 32:30
  they
• 32:31
  would
• 32:31
  shut
• 32:31
  off
• 32:32
  and
• 32:32
  they
• 32:32
  wouldn't
• 32:32
  like
• 32:32
  blink
• 32:33
  out.
• 32:33
  He
• 32:33
  said
• 32:33
  it
• 32:33
  was
• 32:33
  like
• 32:34
  you
• 32:34
  were
• 32:34
  turning
• 32:34
  off
• 32:34
  an
• 32:34
  incandescent
• 32:35
  light.
• 32:35
  It
• 32:35
  would
• 32:35
  just
• 32:36
  fade
• 32:36
  out
• 32:36
  really
• 32:36
  fast.
• 32:37
  You
• 32:37
  know
• 32:37
  what's
• 32:37
  interesting
• 32:37
  about
• 32:37
  that
• 32:38
  is
• 32:38
  that
• 32:38
  orbs,
• 32:39
  as
• 32:39
  you
• 32:39
  know,
• 32:39
  I'm
• 32:40
  sure,
• 32:40
  are
• 32:40
  the
• 32:41
  most
• 32:41
  commonly
• 32:41
  spotted
• 32:42
  anomalous
• 32:43
  aerial
• 32:44
  objects.
• 32:44
  And
• 32:45
  they
• 32:45
  are
• 32:45
  very
• 32:46
  commonplace.
• 32:47
  I
• 32:47
  saw
• 32:47
  one
• 32:48
  over
• 32:48
  what
• 32:49
  I
• 32:49
  found
• 32:49
  out
• 32:49
  after
• 32:49
  the
• 32:50
  fact
• 32:50
  was
• 32:50
  Golden
• 32:50
  Ball
• 32:51
  Hill
• 32:51
  in
• 32:51
  England
• 32:52
  over
• 32:52
  the
• 32:52
  crop
• 32:52
  circles.
• 32:53
  It
• 32:53
  was
• 32:53
  also
• 32:53
  extremely
• 32:54
  common
• 32:54
  to
• 32:55
  the
• 32:55
  family
• 32:55
  at
• 32:55
  Skinwalker
• 32:56
  Ranch
• 32:57
  in
• 32:57
  that
• 32:57
  whole
• 32:58
  area.
• 32:58
  And
• 32:58
  the
• 32:59
  colors
• 32:59
  are
• 33:00
  significant.
• 33:00
  The
• 33:01
  orange
• 33:01
  and
• 33:01
  those
• 33:02
  are
• 33:02
  sort
• 33:02
  of
• 33:03
  benign.
• 33:03
  But
• 33:04
  the
• 33:04
  blue
• 33:04
  orbs
• 33:05
  put
• 33:05
  the
• 33:05
  fear
• 33:05
  of
• 33:06
  God
• 33:06
  in
• 33:06
  people.
• 33:07
  The
• 33:07
  family
• 33:07
  that
• 33:08
  owned
• 33:08
  the
• 33:08
  Skinwalker
• 33:09
  Ranch
• 33:09
  before
• 33:09
  Bigelow
• 33:10
  bought
• 33:10
  it
• 33:10
  said
• 33:10
  that
• 33:11
  when
• 33:11
  the
• 33:11
  blue
• 33:11
  one
• 33:11
  showed
• 33:12
  up,
• 33:12
  you
• 33:12
  just
• 33:12
  felt
• 33:13
  this
• 33:13
  core
• 33:13
  fear
• 33:14
  that
• 33:14
  was
• 33:14
  unlike
• 33:14
  anything
• 33:15
  you'd
• 33:15
  have
• 33:15
  ever
• 33:15
  felt
• 33:15
  before.
• 33:16
  Yeah,
• 33:16
  like
• 33:16
  blue
• 33:16
  balls.
• 33:17
  Yeah.
• 33:19
  Makes
• 33:19
  you
• 33:19
  feel
• 33:19
  uncomfortable.
• 33:21
  The
• 33:22
  mysteries
• 33:22
  are
• 33:23
  revealing
• 33:23
  themselves.
• 33:24
  Oh
• 33:25
  my
• 33:25
  God.
• 33:26
  Was
• 33:26
  this
• 33:27
  non
• 33:27
  human
• 33:27
  intelligence
• 33:28
  or
• 33:28
  was
• 33:28
  it
• 33:29
  some.
• 33:29
  Or
• 33:29
  a
• 33:29
  monitor
• 33:30
  of
• 33:30
  some
• 33:30
  sort
• 33:31
  or.
• 33:31
  It
• 33:31
  was
• 33:31
  a
• 33:31
  bizarre
• 33:32
  technology
• 33:32
  we're
• 33:33
  not
• 33:33
  aware
• 33:33
  of
• 33:33
  that
• 33:33
  the
• 33:33
  government
• 33:33
  has
• 33:34
  developed.
• 33:34
  Foo
• 33:34
  fighters.
• 33:35
  Were
• 33:35
  they
• 33:35
  observing
• 33:36
  the
• 33:36
  manipulation
• 33:37
  of
• 33:37
  Benowitz?
• 33:37
  It's
• 33:38
  not
• 33:38
  the
• 33:38
  first
• 33:38
  I've
• 33:38
  read
• 33:38
  of
• 33:39
  situations
• 33:39
  like
• 33:39
  that.
• 33:39
  It's
• 33:40
  just
• 33:40
  so
• 33:40
  weird.
• 33:41
  Yeah,
• 33:41
  I
• 33:41
  don't
• 33:41
  know
• 33:42
  if
• 33:42
  I
• 33:42
  can
• 33:42
  ascribe
• 33:43
  that
• 33:43
  to
• 33:44
  some
• 33:44
  earthly
• 33:44
  technology
• 33:45
  maybe.
• 33:46
  I
• 33:47
  don't
• 33:47
  know.
• 33:47
  I
• 33:47
  would
• 33:47
  assume
• 33:48
  that
• 33:48
  it
• 33:48
  was
• 33:48
  some
• 33:48
  kind
• 33:48
  of
• 33:48
  technology
• 33:49
  where
• 33:50
  whoever
• 33:50
  was
• 33:51
  watching
• 33:51
  him
• 33:51
  and
• 33:51
  who
• 33:51
  was
• 33:51
  ever
• 33:52
  around
• 33:52
  his
• 33:52
  house
• 33:52
  could
• 33:52
  do
• 33:52
  that
• 33:53
  or
• 33:53
  make
• 33:53
  those,
• 33:53
  or
• 33:53
  make
• 33:54
  it
• 33:54
  appear
• 33:54
  that
• 33:54
  those
• 33:54
  were
• 33:54
  there
• 33:55
  as
• 33:55
  a
• 33:55
  projection.
• 33:56
  I
• 33:57
  do
• 33:57
  not
• 33:57
  know.
• 33:57
  But
• 33:57
  I
• 33:58
  don't
• 33:58
  know
• 33:58
  if
• 33:58
  that
• 33:58
  was
• 33:59
  in
• 33:59
  the
• 33:59
  literature
• 33:59
  enough
• 34:00
  for
• 34:00
  them
• 34:00
  to
• 34:00
  know.
• 34:00
  Well,
• 34:01
  an
• 34:01
  orb
• 34:01
  is.
• 34:02
  So
• 34:02
  who
• 34:02
  knows?
• 34:03
  And
• 34:03
  we're
• 34:03
  going
• 34:03
  back
• 34:03
  to
• 34:03
  the
• 34:04
  70s
• 34:04
  and
• 34:04
  80s
• 34:04
  here.
• 34:05
  Yeah.
• 34:05
  And
• 34:06
  this
• 34:06
  was
• 34:06
  way
• 34:06
  back
• 34:06
  when,
• 34:06
  so
• 34:07
  I
• 34:07
  don't
• 34:07
  know
• 34:08
  what
• 34:08
  it
• 34:08
  is.
• 34:08
  Although
• 34:09
  I
• 34:09
  wouldn't
• 34:09
  put
• 34:09
  it
• 34:10
  past
• 34:10
  somebody
• 34:11
  being
• 34:11
  able
• 34:11
  to
• 34:12
  do
• 34:12
  that
• 34:12
  with
• 34:12
  technology
• 34:13
  at
• 34:13
  the
• 34:13
  time.
• 34:13
  And
• 34:14
  also
• 34:14
  Gabe
• 34:15
  Valdez,
• 34:15
  who
• 34:15
  was
• 34:16
  the
• 34:16
  New
• 34:16
  Mexico
• 34:17
  State
• 34:17
  Highway
• 34:17
  Patrolman,
• 34:18
  was
• 34:18
  also
• 34:18
  hanging
• 34:19
  around
• 34:19
  with
• 34:19
  Benowitz.
• 34:20
  And
• 34:20
  people
• 34:21
  tell
• 34:21
  me,
• 34:21
  well,
• 34:21
  Bill
• 34:21
  Moore
• 34:22
  told
• 34:22
  you
• 34:22
  that
• 34:22
  he
• 34:22
  could
• 34:22
  probably
• 34:23
  be
• 34:23
  lying.
• 34:23
  It's
• 34:23
  like
• 34:23
  one.
• 34:24
  One
• 34:24
  I've
• 34:24
  never
• 34:25
  found
• 34:25
  Bill
• 34:25
  Moore
• 34:26
  to
• 34:26
  ever
• 34:26
  lie
• 34:26
  to
• 34:26
  me
• 34:26
  once
• 34:27
  over
• 34:28
  what,
• 34:28
  40
• 34:28
  something
• 34:29
  years.
• 34:30
  And
• 34:30
  the
• 34:30
  other
• 34:30
  is
• 34:31
  that
• 34:31
  Gabe,
• 34:32
  who
• 34:32
  was
• 34:32
  actually
• 34:33
  anti
• 34:33
  government
• 34:34
  and
• 34:34
  very
• 34:35
  suspicious
• 34:35
  of
• 34:35
  government
• 34:36
  entities
• 34:37
  as
• 34:37
  a
• 34:37
  highway
• 34:37
  patrolman.
• 34:38
  Yeah,
• 34:38
  exactly.
• 34:39
  He
• 34:39
  told
• 34:39
  me
• 34:40
  he
• 34:40
  saw
• 34:40
  it
• 34:40
  too.
• 34:40
  So
• 34:41
  some
• 34:41
  of
• 34:41
  my
• 34:41
  intel
• 34:42
  from
• 34:42
  outside
• 34:42
  the
• 34:43
  UFO
• 34:43
  community,
• 34:44
  or
• 34:44
  at
• 34:44
  least
• 34:44
  outside
• 34:45
  officialdom,
• 34:45
  came
• 34:46
  from
• 34:46
  Gabe,
• 34:46
  who
• 34:46
  knew
• 34:47
  him
• 34:47
  pretty
• 34:47
  well.
• 34:48
  Gabe
• 34:48
  passed
• 34:48
  away
• 34:49
  a
• 34:49
  few
• 34:49
  years
• 34:49
  ago.
• 34:49
  The
• 34:50
  time
• 34:50
  we
• 34:50
  have
• 34:50
  left.
• 34:50
  Let's
• 34:50
  talk
• 34:51
  about
• 34:51
  Benowitz's
• 34:52
  fate.
• 34:52
  What
• 34:52
  happened?
• 34:53
  He
• 34:54
  really
• 34:54
  went
• 34:55
  deep
• 34:55
  into
• 34:55
  this.
• 34:55
  He
• 34:56
  discovered
• 34:56
  in
• 34:57
  the
• 34:57
  mountains
• 34:57
  outside
• 34:57
  of
• 34:58
  Kirtland
• 34:58
  he
• 34:59
  could
• 34:59
  fly.
• 34:59
  And
• 34:59
  he
• 34:59
  went
• 34:59
  over
• 35:00
  areas
• 35:01
  and
• 35:01
  he
• 35:01
  claimed
• 35:02
  to
• 35:02
  have
• 35:02
  seen
• 35:03
  air
• 35:03
  vents
• 35:04
  for
• 35:04
  underground
• 35:05
  bases.
• 35:05
  Because
• 35:05
  the
• 35:05
  big
• 35:05
  thing
• 35:06
  in
• 35:06
  the
• 35:06
  UFO
• 35:06
  business
• 35:06
  is
• 35:07
  that
• 35:07
  there
• 35:07
  are
• 35:07
  these
• 35:07
  massive
• 35:08
  underground
• 35:08
  bases
• 35:09
  that
• 35:09
  aliens
• 35:10
  cohabitate
• 35:10
  with
• 35:11
  cooperative
• 35:11
  humans.
• 35:12
  I
• 35:12
  think
• 35:12
  there
• 35:12
  are
• 35:12
  a
• 35:12
  lot
• 35:12
  of
• 35:12
  underground
• 35:13
  bases.
• 35:13
  Open
• 35:13
  source
• 35:14
  literature
• 35:14
  tells
• 35:14
  you
• 35:14
  that.
• 35:15
  Really,
• 35:15
  but.
• 35:16
  But
• 35:16
  not
• 35:16
  there.
• 35:17
  Yeah,
• 35:17
  they
• 35:17
  even
• 35:18
  set
• 35:18
  up
• 35:18
  dummy
• 35:19
  vents,
• 35:20
  Shaft,
• 35:20
  to
• 35:20
  confuse
• 35:21
  Benowitz
• 35:22
  and
• 35:22
  others.
• 35:22
  Well,
• 35:23
  they
• 35:23
  flew
• 35:23
  him
• 35:23
  over
• 35:24
  this
• 35:24
  area
• 35:25
  in
• 35:25
  Dulce,
• 35:26
  New
• 35:26
  Mexico,
• 35:26
  which
• 35:27
  is
• 35:27
  close
• 35:27
  to
• 35:28
  the
• 35:28
  San
• 35:29
  Luis
• 35:29
  Valley,
• 35:29
  I
• 35:29
  don't
• 35:30
  know
• 35:30
  what,
• 35:30
  50
• 35:30
  miles
• 35:31
  south.
• 35:32
  And
• 35:32
  actually
• 35:33
  put,
• 35:34
  I
• 35:34
  was
• 35:35
  told,
• 35:35
  put
• 35:35
  props
• 35:36
  up
• 35:36
  there
• 35:36
  to
• 35:37
  draw
• 35:37
  his
• 35:37
  attention
• 35:38
  towards
• 35:38
  there
• 35:38
  and
• 35:38
  away
• 35:39
  from
• 35:39
  the
• 35:39
  base
• 35:39
  for
• 35:39
  Benowitz.
• 35:40
  Yeah,
• 35:40
  they
• 35:41
  flew
• 35:41
  him
• 35:41
  on
• 35:41
  a
• 35:41
  helicopter
• 35:42
  up
• 35:42
  there
• 35:42
  with
• 35:42
  a
• 35:42
  military
• 35:43
  person,
• 35:43
  I
• 35:43
  think
• 35:44
  twice,
• 35:44
  and
• 35:45
  showed
• 35:45
  him
• 35:45
  this
• 35:45
  stuff.
• 35:45
  And
• 35:46
  then
• 35:46
  he
• 35:46
  went
• 35:46
  back
• 35:46
  with
• 35:46
  his
• 35:47
  airplane
• 35:47
  and
• 35:47
  looked
• 35:48
  for
• 35:48
  more,
• 35:48
  but
• 35:48
  I
• 35:48
  think
• 35:48
  they'd
• 35:49
  actually
• 35:49
  grabbed
• 35:49
  them
• 35:49
  all
• 35:50
  and
• 35:50
  put
• 35:50
  them
• 35:50
  away.
• 35:51
  But
• 35:51
  then
• 35:51
  he
• 35:51
  went
• 35:51
  up
• 35:51
  in
• 35:52
  the
• 35:52
  mountains,
• 35:52
  something
• 35:53
  crashed
• 35:53
  up.
• 35:53
  There
• 35:53
  was
• 35:54
  probably
• 35:54
  either
• 35:55
  a
• 35:55
  drone
• 35:55
  or
• 35:55
  an
• 35:55
  early
• 35:56
  Stealth
• 35:56
  fighter.
• 35:56
  He
• 35:57
  saw
• 35:57
  it
• 35:57
  from
• 35:57
  his
• 35:57
  plane
• 35:58
  and
• 35:58
  he
• 35:58
  said,
• 35:58
  this
• 35:58
  is
• 35:58
  a.
• 35:59
  I
• 35:59
  don't
• 35:59
  know
• 35:59
  where
• 35:59
  he
• 36:00
  got
• 36:00
  this
• 36:00
  idea,
• 36:00
  maybe
• 36:01
  it
• 36:01
  was
• 36:01
  leaked
• 36:02
  to
• 36:02
  him.
• 36:02
  But
• 36:02
  he
• 36:02
  said
• 36:02
  this
• 36:03
  is
• 36:03
  a
• 36:03
  plane
• 36:03
  that
• 36:03
  was
• 36:03
  developed
• 36:04
  from
• 36:04
  alien
• 36:05
  technology
• 36:06
  and
• 36:07
  it
• 36:07
  was
• 36:07
  given
• 36:07
  to
• 36:08
  the
• 36:08
  United
• 36:08
  States
• 36:08
  and
• 36:08
  it
• 36:09
  crashed
• 36:09
  and
• 36:09
  it's
• 36:09
  nuclear
• 36:10
  powered
• 36:10
  and
• 36:11
  there
• 36:11
  was
• 36:11
  a
• 36:11
  big
• 36:11
  problem
• 36:12
  with
• 36:12
  the
• 36:12
  possible
• 36:13
  nuclear
• 36:13
  contamination.
• 36:14
  And
• 36:15
  he
• 36:15
  took
• 36:15
  pictures
• 36:16
  of
• 36:16
  it,
• 36:16
  which
• 36:16
  are
• 36:17
  frustratingly
• 36:18
  blurry,
• 36:19
  and
• 36:19
  then
• 36:20
  drove
• 36:20
  up
• 36:20
  there
• 36:20
  with
• 36:20
  Gabe
• 36:21
  Valdez
• 36:21
  and
• 36:21
  they
• 36:22
  couldn't
• 36:22
  find
• 36:22
  anything,
• 36:23
  although
• 36:23
  they
• 36:24
  did
• 36:24
  find
• 36:24
  some
• 36:24
  broken
• 36:25
  trees,
• 36:26
  some
• 36:26
  disturbed
• 36:27
  soil,
• 36:27
  and
• 36:27
  a
• 36:27
  pen
• 36:28
  that
• 36:28
  says
• 36:28
  Property
• 36:29
  of
• 36:29
  US
• 36:29
  Government
• 36:29
  on
• 36:30
  it.
• 36:30
  So
• 36:31
  somebody
• 36:31
  had
• 36:31
  dropped
• 36:31
  it
• 36:32
  there
• 36:32
  when
• 36:32
  they
• 36:32
  were
• 36:32
  cleaning
• 36:32
  it.
• 36:33
  So
• 36:33
  something
• 36:33
  did
• 36:33
  crash
• 36:34
  there,
• 36:34
  but
• 36:35
  it
• 36:35
  probably
• 36:36
  wasn't
• 36:36
  a
• 36:36
  nuclear
• 36:37
  powered
• 36:37
  aircraft
• 36:38
  or
• 36:38
  spacecraft.
• 36:39
  This
• 36:40
  notion
• 36:40
  that
• 36:41
  they
• 36:41
  employed
• 36:42
  these
• 36:42
  people
• 36:42
  to
• 36:42
  set
• 36:43
  up
• 36:43
  a
• 36:43
  dummy
• 36:44
  base
• 36:44
  and
• 36:45
  flew
• 36:45
  him
• 36:45
  on
• 36:45
  military
• 36:46
  aircraft
• 36:47
  to
• 36:47
  go
• 36:47
  see
• 36:48
  these
• 36:48
  dummy
• 36:48
  situations,
• 36:50
  that's
• 36:50
  a
• 36:50
  lot
• 36:50
  of
• 36:50
  resources
• 36:51
  directed
• 36:52
  to
• 36:52
  an
• 36:52
  individual
• 36:53
  who
• 36:53
  was
• 36:53
  unhinged.
• 36:54
  What
• 36:54
  the
• 36:54
  hell
• 36:55
  did
• 36:55
  Benowitz
• 36:55
  find
• 36:56
  that
• 36:56
  forced
• 36:56
  him
• 36:57
  to
• 36:57
  do
• 36:57
  such
• 36:57
  an
• 36:57
  ambitious.
• 36:59
  Make
• 36:59
  people
• 37:00
  not
• 37:00
  believe
• 37:02
  what
• 37:02
  he
• 37:02
  was.
• 37:02
  Do
• 37:03
  they
• 37:03
  think
• 37:03
  Benowitz
• 37:03
  had
• 37:04
  so
• 37:04
  much
• 37:04
  sway
• 37:05
  in
• 37:05
  public
• 37:05
  opinion
• 37:05
  that
• 37:06
  if
• 37:06
  they
• 37:06
  could
• 37:06
  twist
• 37:06
  him,
• 37:06
  they
• 37:07
  could
• 37:07
  twist
• 37:07
  the
• 37:08
  whole
• 37:08
  research
• 37:08
  community?
• 37:08
  No,
• 37:09
  I
• 37:09
  think
• 37:09
  they
• 37:09
  were
• 37:09
  just
• 37:09
  trying
• 37:09
  to.
• 37:10
  Nobody
• 37:10
  really
• 37:11
  knew
• 37:11
  about
• 37:11
  him.
• 37:11
  I
• 37:11
  mean,
• 37:11
  people
• 37:12
  at
• 37:12
  APRO
• 37:12
  knew
• 37:12
  about
• 37:13
  him.
• 37:14
  Then
• 37:14
  why?
• 37:15
  Because
• 37:16
  apparently
• 37:17
  they
• 37:17
  just
• 37:17
  wanted
• 37:17
  to
• 37:18
  take
• 37:18
  his
• 37:18
  Attention
• 37:18
  away
• 37:18
  from
• 37:19
  the
• 37:19
  base.
• 37:19
  And
• 37:19
  he
• 37:19
  was
• 37:20
  already
• 37:20
  talking
• 37:20
  about
• 37:20
  he
• 37:21
  had
• 37:21
  been
• 37:21
  there
• 37:22
  and
• 37:22
  he
• 37:22
  said
• 37:22
  that
• 37:22
  he
• 37:22
  had
• 37:23
  seen
• 37:23
  things
• 37:23
  flying
• 37:23
  around
• 37:24
  and
• 37:24
  he
• 37:24
  had
• 37:24
  taken
• 37:24
  some
• 37:25
  video
• 37:25
  of
• 37:25
  it
• 37:25
  or
• 37:25
  photos
• 37:26
  of
• 37:26
  it.
• 37:26
  And
• 37:27
  they
• 37:27
  said,
• 37:27
  okay,
• 37:28
  if
• 37:28
  that's
• 37:28
  what
• 37:29
  you're
• 37:29
  interested
• 37:29
  in,
• 37:29
  let's
• 37:30
  just
• 37:30
  pull
• 37:30
  your
• 37:30
  attention
• 37:30
  over
• 37:31
  there.
• 37:31
  To
• 37:31
  me,
• 37:32
  that's
• 37:32
  why
• 37:32
  it
• 37:32
  happened.
• 37:32
  It's
• 37:33
  just
• 37:33
  like,
• 37:33
  okay,
• 37:33
  we're
• 37:33
  done
• 37:33
  with
• 37:34
  you
• 37:34
  watching
• 37:34
  stuff
• 37:35
  at
• 37:35
  the
• 37:35
  base.
• 37:35
  We'd
• 37:35
  rather
• 37:35
  you
• 37:36
  didn't.
• 37:36
  So
• 37:36
  we're
• 37:37
  gonna
• 37:37
  show
• 37:37
  you
• 37:37
  this
• 37:37
  place
• 37:37
  that's
• 37:38
  like
• 37:38
  way
• 37:38
  out
• 37:39
  in
• 37:39
  northwestern
• 37:40
  New
• 37:40
  Mexico
• 37:41
  on
• 37:41
  a
• 37:41
  Native
• 37:42
  American
• 37:42
  reservation.
• 37:43
  And
• 37:43
  then
• 37:43
  your
• 37:44
  noise
• 37:44
  will
• 37:44
  be
• 37:44
  about
• 37:45
  this
• 37:45
  and
• 37:45
  not
• 37:45
  about
• 37:45
  what's
• 37:46
  going
• 37:46
  on
• 37:46
  at
• 37:46
  the
• 37:46
  base.
• 37:47
  Is
• 37:47
  the
• 37:47
  government
• 37:47
  then
• 37:48
  basically
• 37:48
  saying
• 37:49
  that
• 37:49
  they
• 37:49
  want
• 37:50
  to
• 37:50
  subvert
• 37:51
  the
• 37:52
  observation
• 37:53
  by
• 37:54
  individual
• 37:55
  citizens
• 37:56
  of
• 37:57
  unidentified
• 37:58
  activities
• 37:59
  in
• 37:59
  our
• 38:00
  skies
• 38:00
  and
• 38:00
  in
• 38:01
  our
• 38:01
  lives?
• 38:02
  Is
• 38:02
  that
• 38:02
  what
• 38:03
  I
• 38:03
  think
• 38:03
  they
• 38:04
  wanted
• 38:04
  to
• 38:04
  subvert
• 38:05
  his
• 38:05
  attention
• 38:06
  being
• 38:07
  drawn
• 38:07
  to
• 38:07
  things
• 38:08
  they
• 38:08
  didn't
• 38:08
  want
• 38:08
  attention
• 38:09
  being
• 38:09
  drawn
• 38:09
  to
• 38:09
  which
• 38:10
  were
• 38:10
  earthly.
• 38:11
  And
• 38:11
  I'm
• 38:11
  saying
• 38:11
  that
• 38:12
  by
• 38:12
  extension,
• 38:15
  why
• 38:15
  would
• 38:15
  they
• 38:15
  spend
• 38:16
  so
• 38:16
  much
• 38:16
  time
• 38:16
  on
• 38:16
  the
• 38:17
  one
• 38:17
  guy
• 38:17
  if
• 38:18
  they
• 38:18
  weren't
• 38:19
  basically
• 38:20
  saying
• 38:20
  to
• 38:21
  the
• 38:21
  whole
• 38:21
  community,
• 38:21
  stop,
• 38:22
  just
• 38:23
  leave
• 38:23
  it
• 38:23
  alone.
• 38:23
  Or
• 38:23
  they
• 38:23
  were
• 38:23
  just
• 38:24
  dealing
• 38:24
  with
• 38:24
  a
• 38:24
  menace
• 38:25
  on
• 38:25
  the
• 38:25
  perimeter
• 38:25
  of
• 38:25
  the
• 38:26
  base?
• 38:26
  Yeah,
• 38:26
  I
• 38:26
  think
• 38:27
  it
• 38:27
  was
• 38:27
  just
• 38:27
  him
• 38:27
  at
• 38:28
  the
• 38:28
  time.
• 38:28
  Whatever
• 38:29
  ancillary
• 38:31
  benefits
• 38:31
  could
• 38:32
  accrue
• 38:33
  from
• 38:33
  them
• 38:33
  doing
• 38:33
  that
• 38:34
  was
• 38:34
  fine.
• 38:34
  But
• 38:34
  it
• 38:34
  was
• 38:35
  basically,
• 38:35
  they
• 38:35
  were
• 38:36
  working
• 38:36
  with
• 38:36
  him.
• 38:36
  He
• 38:37
  was
• 38:37
  looking
• 38:37
  at
• 38:37
  stuff
• 38:37
  he
• 38:37
  wasn't
• 38:38
  supposed
• 38:38
  to
• 38:38
  be.
• 38:38
  They
• 38:39
  were
• 38:39
  trying
• 38:39
  to
• 38:39
  direct
• 38:39
  his
• 38:40
  attention
• 38:40
  away.
• 38:40
  And
• 38:41
  also
• 38:41
  there's
• 38:42
  another
• 38:42
  really
• 38:43
  important
• 38:44
  aspect
• 38:44
  of
• 38:44
  this.
• 38:45
  I
• 38:45
  asked
• 38:46
  Bill
• 38:46
  about
• 38:46
  this
• 38:47
  too,
• 38:47
  and
• 38:47
  he
• 38:47
  said
• 38:47
  the
• 38:48
  Benowitz
• 38:48
  thing
• 38:49
  was
• 38:49
  a
• 38:49
  tiny
• 38:49
  cog
• 38:50
  in
• 38:50
  a
• 38:50
  giant
• 38:50
  machine.
• 38:51
  That's
• 38:51
  what
• 38:51
  I'm
• 38:52
  looking
• 38:52
  for.
• 38:52
  Yeah.
• 38:53
  He
• 38:53
  said,
• 38:54
  imagine
• 38:54
  the
• 38:55
  operation
• 38:55
  that
• 38:55
  was
• 38:56
  doing
• 38:56
  this
• 38:56
  was,
• 38:56
  was
• 38:57
  a
• 38:57
  24
• 38:57
  hour
• 38:57
  long
• 38:58
  play,
• 38:58
  like
• 38:59
  a
• 38:59
  stage
• 38:59
  play.
• 39:00
  The
• 39:00
  Benowitz
• 39:01
  thing
• 39:01
  would
• 39:01
  have
• 39:01
  been.
• 39:02
  He
• 39:02
  said
• 39:03
  one
• 39:03
  scene
• 39:04
  of
• 39:04
  one
• 39:04
  minute
• 39:05
  in
• 39:05
  a
• 39:05
  24
• 39:06
  hour
• 39:06
  play.
• 39:06
  Well,
• 39:06
  at
• 39:06
  least
• 39:07
  they
• 39:07
  didn't
• 39:07
  just
• 39:07
  kill
• 39:07
  him.
• 39:08
  I
• 39:09
  don't
• 39:09
  think
• 39:09
  they
• 39:09
  do
• 39:09
  that
• 39:09
  anymore.
• 39:09
  They
• 39:10
  misdirect
• 39:11
  people
• 39:11
  or
• 39:11
  embarrass
• 39:11
  them.
• 39:12
  This
• 39:12
  is
• 39:12
  a
• 39:12
  weird
• 39:12
  twist
• 39:13
  in
• 39:13
  the
• 39:13
  story
• 39:13
  too.
• 39:14
  One
• 39:14
  of
• 39:14
  the
• 39:14
  greats
• 39:15
  in
• 39:15
  the
• 39:16
  business
• 39:16
  of
• 39:16
  investigating
• 39:17
  UFOs
• 39:18
  was
• 39:18
  J.
• 39:18
  Allen
• 39:18
  Hynek,
• 39:20
  Project
• 39:20
  Blue
• 39:20
  Book.
• 39:21
  He
• 39:21
  really.
• 39:21
  I
• 39:22
  knew
• 39:22
  you
• 39:22
  were
• 39:22
  gonna
• 39:22
  mention
• 39:22
  this.
• 39:23
  Yeah,
• 39:23
  he
• 39:23
  was
• 39:23
  a
• 39:23
  respected.
• 39:24
  Yeah,
• 39:24
  he
• 39:24
  was
• 39:24
  very
• 39:25
  respected
• 39:25
  and
• 39:25
  he
• 39:25
  was
• 39:26
  respectful
• 39:26
  and
• 39:27
  he
• 39:27
  was
• 39:27
  trying
• 39:27
  to,
• 39:28
  to
• 39:28
  bring
• 39:28
  light
• 39:28
  to
• 39:29
  the
• 39:29
  subject.
• 39:29
  That
• 39:30
  didn't
• 39:30
  work
• 39:30
  out,
• 39:30
  but
• 39:31
  he
• 39:31
  was
• 39:31
  regarded
• 39:32
  as
• 39:32
  unimpeachable.
• 39:33
  But
• 39:33
  you
• 39:34
  write
• 39:34
  in
• 39:34
  your
• 39:34
  book
• 39:35
  that
• 39:35
  he
• 39:36
  was
• 39:36
  involved
• 39:36
  with
• 39:36
  Benowitz.
• 39:37
  What
• 39:37
  did
• 39:38
  Hynek
• 39:38
  do
• 39:39
  with
• 39:39
  Benowitz
• 39:40
  in
• 39:40
  the
• 39:40
  book?
• 39:40
  I
• 39:41
  said,
• 39:41
  there
• 39:41
  is
• 39:41
  one
• 39:41
  source
• 39:42
  for
• 39:42
  this,
• 39:42
  and
• 39:42
  it
• 39:42
  was
• 39:43
  more.
• 39:43
  And
• 39:43
  the
• 39:44
  reason
• 39:44
  I
• 39:45
  put
• 39:45
  it
• 39:45
  in
• 39:45
  the
• 39:45
  book
• 39:45
  is
• 39:46
  because
• 39:46
  I
• 39:46
  wanted
• 39:46
  somebody
• 39:47
  to
• 39:48
  substantiate
• 39:48
  it
• 39:49
  or
• 39:49
  find
• 39:49
  some
• 39:49
  kind
• 39:50
  of
• 39:50
  documentation.
• 39:51
  What
• 39:52
  happened
• 39:52
  was
• 39:52
  Witts
• 39:53
  said
• 39:53
  that
• 39:53
  J.
• 39:53
  Allen
• 39:54
  Hynek
• 39:54
  showed
• 39:55
  up
• 39:55
  at
• 39:55
  his
• 39:55
  door
• 39:56
  with
• 39:56
  an
• 39:56
  entire
• 39:56
  computer
• 39:57
  and
• 39:57
  said,
• 39:57
  here,
• 39:58
  this
• 39:58
  will
• 39:58
  help
• 39:58
  you
• 39:58
  with
• 39:59
  your
• 39:59
  research.
• 39:59
  If
• 40:00
  you're
• 40:00
  a
• 40:00
  UFO
• 40:00
  researcher
• 40:01
  and
• 40:01
  Hynek
• 40:01
  shows
• 40:01
  up
• 40:01
  at
• 40:02
  your
• 40:02
  door
• 40:02
  with
• 40:02
  a
• 40:03
  computer
• 40:03
  in
• 40:03
  the
• 40:03
  room
• 40:03
  with
• 40:03
  a
• 40:03
  computer,
• 40:04
  and
• 40:04
  you
• 40:04
  just
• 40:04
  kind
• 40:04
  of
• 40:04
  go,
• 40:04
  whoa.
• 40:05
  Benowitz
• 40:06
  could
• 40:06
  build
• 40:06
  computers.
• 40:07
  That's
• 40:07
  how
• 40:07
  he
• 40:07
  was
• 40:07
  starting
• 40:08
  to
• 40:08
  decode
• 40:09
  some
• 40:09
  of
• 40:09
  the
• 40:09
  stuff.
• 40:10
  And
• 40:10
  they
• 40:10
  wanted
• 40:10
  him
• 40:11
  to
• 40:11
  decode
• 40:11
  it
• 40:11
  in
• 40:11
  a
• 40:11
  different
• 40:12
  way.
• 40:12
  So
• 40:12
  they
• 40:12
  said,
• 40:13
  you're
• 40:13
  working
• 40:13
  with
• 40:13
  the
• 40:13
  government.
• 40:14
  Here's
• 40:14
  something
• 40:15
  to
• 40:15
  help
• 40:15
  you
• 40:15
  out.
• 40:15
  But
• 40:16
  the
• 40:16
  thing
• 40:16
  is,
• 40:16
  it
• 40:16
  just
• 40:16
  took
• 40:16
  everything
• 40:17
  he
• 40:17
  was
• 40:17
  thinking
• 40:18
  he
• 40:18
  was
• 40:18
  telling
• 40:19
  them
• 40:19
  and
• 40:19
  just
• 40:19
  spit
• 40:19
  it
• 40:19
  back
• 40:20
  to
• 40:20
  him
• 40:20
  with
• 40:21
  a
• 40:21
  little
• 40:21
  bit
• 40:21
  more
• 40:21
  context.
• 40:22
  So
• 40:22
  if
• 40:22
  Hynek
• 40:23
  did
• 40:23
  it.
• 40:23
  Because
• 40:23
  you're
• 40:23
  not
• 40:23
  saying
• 40:24
  it's
• 40:24
  for
• 40:24
  sure.
• 40:25
  It's
• 40:25
  not
• 40:25
  for
• 40:25
  sure,
• 40:26
  but
• 40:26
  I'm
• 40:27
  pretty
• 40:27
  sure
• 40:28
  you're
• 40:28
  speculating
• 40:29
  here.
• 40:29
  But
• 40:29
  do
• 40:29
  you
• 40:30
  think
• 40:30
  that
• 40:30
  Hynek
• 40:30
  was
• 40:31
  aware
• 40:31
  that
• 40:31
  he
• 40:31
  was
• 40:31
  duping
• 40:32
  this
• 40:32
  guy?
• 40:33
  I'm
• 40:33
  not
• 40:34
  sure.
• 40:35
  Okay.
• 40:36
  I
• 40:36
  do
• 40:36
  not
• 40:36
  know.
• 40:36
  And
• 40:37
  that's
• 40:37
  a
• 40:37
  big
• 40:37
  question.
• 40:38
  And
• 40:38
  I've
• 40:38
  asked
• 40:38
  his
• 40:39
  son
• 40:39
  Paul,
• 40:39
  and
• 40:40
  Paul
• 40:40
  said
• 40:40
  he
• 40:40
  didn't
• 40:41
  even
• 40:41
  know
• 40:41
  that
• 40:41
  was
• 40:41
  going
• 40:41
  on.
• 40:41
  He
• 40:42
  was
• 40:42
  a
• 40:42
  kid
• 40:42
  when
• 40:42
  it
• 40:42
  was
• 40:42
  happening.
• 40:43
  What
• 40:43
  happened
• 40:44
  to
• 40:44
  Benowitz?
• 40:44
  Eventually
• 40:45
  he
• 40:45
  got
• 40:46
  so
• 40:47
  upset
• 40:47
  and
• 40:48
  so
• 40:48
  destabilized,
• 40:49
  you
• 40:50
  know,
• 40:50
  chain
• 40:50
  smoking,
• 40:50
  all
• 40:51
  this.
• 40:51
  I
• 40:51
  always
• 40:51
  said
• 40:51
  about
• 40:51
  shortening
• 40:52
  his
• 40:52
  life,
• 40:53
  his
• 40:53
  family
• 40:53
  set.
• 40:54
  This
• 40:54
  is
• 40:54
  ruining
• 40:55
  our
• 40:55
  lives.
• 40:55
  Your
• 40:56
  life,
• 40:56
  your
• 40:56
  company
• 40:57
  is
• 40:58
  suffering
• 40:58
  because
• 40:58
  of
• 40:58
  it.
• 40:59
  They
• 40:59
  actually
• 40:59
  put
• 41:00
  him
• 41:00
  in
• 41:00
  a
• 41:00
  mental
• 41:00
  health
• 41:00
  place
• 41:01
  for
• 41:01
  about
• 41:01
  a
• 41:01
  month
• 41:02
  or
• 41:02
  two.
• 41:02
  Oh,
• 41:02
  wow.
• 41:03
  And
• 41:04
  he
• 41:04
  went
• 41:04
  in
• 41:04
  willingly.
• 41:05
  And
• 41:05
  after
• 41:05
  he
• 41:06
  came
• 41:06
  out,
• 41:06
  it
• 41:07
  ramped
• 41:07
  down
• 41:07
  considerably.
• 41:08
  He
• 41:08
  still
• 41:08
  talked
• 41:09
  about
• 41:09
  it,
• 41:09
  still
• 41:09
  talked
• 41:10
  to
• 41:10
  researchers
• 41:10
  and
• 41:10
  all
• 41:10
  that,
• 41:11
  specifically
• 41:11
  Linda
• 41:12
  Howe,
• 41:12
  John
• 41:12
  Lear,
• 41:12
  and
• 41:13
  a
• 41:13
  few
• 41:13
  other
• 41:13
  people.
• 41:14
  Linda
• 41:15
  Howe
• 41:15
  was
• 41:15
  played
• 41:16
  also.
• 41:16
  Yeah,
• 41:17
  and
• 41:17
  that's
• 41:18
  in
• 41:18
  the
• 41:18
  book
• 41:18
  as
• 41:18
  well.
• 41:18
  But
• 41:19
  he
• 41:19
  basically
• 41:20
  stopped
• 41:20
  the
• 41:20
  extreme
• 41:21
  stuff,
• 41:21
  although
• 41:22
  he
• 41:22
  still
• 41:22
  was
• 41:22
  interested
• 41:23
  in
• 41:23
  it
• 41:23
  for
• 41:23
  the
• 41:23
  rest
• 41:23
  of
• 41:23
  his
• 41:24
  life.
• 41:24
  It's
• 41:24
  just
• 41:25
  he
• 41:25
  didn't
• 41:25
  really
• 41:25
  talk
• 41:25
  about
• 41:25
  it
• 41:26
  too
• 41:26
  much.
• 41:26
  I
• 41:26
  think
• 41:27
  he
• 41:27
  eventually
• 41:27
  just
• 41:28
  passed
• 41:28
  away.
• 41:29
  Yeah,
• 41:29
  and
• 41:29
  he
• 41:29
  passed
• 41:29
  away
• 41:30
  in
• 41:30
  2003
• 41:33
  or
• 41:33
  four,
• 41:34
  actually.
• 41:34
  I
• 41:34
  got
• 41:34
  there
• 41:35
  and
• 41:35
  I
• 41:35
  wanted
• 41:35
  to
• 41:35
  talk
• 41:36
  to
• 41:36
  him,
• 41:36
  and
• 41:36
  he
• 41:36
  had
• 41:36
  died
• 41:36
  three
• 41:37
  weeks
• 41:37
  before
• 41:37
  I
• 41:37
  got
• 41:37
  there,
• 41:38
  and
• 41:38
  his
• 41:38
  sons
• 41:39
  are
• 41:39
  still
• 41:39
  running
• 41:39
  his
• 41:40
  business,
• 41:40
  and
• 41:41
  they
• 41:41
  don't
• 41:41
  want
• 41:41
  to
• 41:41
  talk
• 41:41
  about
• 41:41
  it.
• 41:42
  Yeah,
• 41:42
  I
• 41:42
  went
• 41:42
  there
• 41:43
  and
• 41:43
  asked
• 41:43
  one
• 41:43
  of
• 41:43
  his
• 41:43
  sons,
• 41:44
  and
• 41:45
  first
• 41:45
  I
• 41:45
  went
• 41:45
  in
• 41:46
  they
• 41:46
  said,
• 41:46
  okay.
• 41:46
  Yeah,
• 41:46
  okay.
• 41:47
  You
• 41:47
  want
• 41:47
  to.
• 41:47
  To
• 41:47
  talk?
• 41:47
  I
• 41:47
  think
• 41:48
  it
• 41:48
  was
• 41:48
  Brad.
• 41:49
  And
• 41:49
  the
• 41:49
  guy
• 41:49
  said,
• 41:49
  yeah,
• 41:50
  come
• 41:50
  on
• 41:50
  in
• 41:50
  the
• 41:50
  conference
• 41:51
  room.
• 41:51
  And
• 41:51
  I

• 41:53

• 41:53
  one
• 41:53
  of
• 41:53
  his
• 41:53
  sons
• 41:54
  and
• 41:54
  I
• 41:54
  told
• 41:54
  him
• 41:54
  what
• 41:54
  I
• 41:54
  was
• 41:54
  doing.
• 41:55
  And
• 41:55
  before
• 41:55
  I
• 41:55
  finished
• 41:55
  the
• 41:56
  sentence
• 41:56
  he
• 41:56
  said,
• 41:56
  absolutely
• 41:56
  not.
• 41:57
  We
• 41:57
  don't
• 41:57
  have
• 41:57
  anything
• 41:57
  to
• 41:58
  do
• 41:58
  with
• 41:58
  it.
• 41:58
  And
• 41:58
  I
• 41:58
  said,
• 41:58
  but
• 41:59
  I
• 41:59
  have
• 41:59
  to
• 42:00
  write
• 42:00
  the
• 42:00
  book.
• 42:00
  It's
• 42:00
  on
• 42:00
  an
• 42:00
  assignment.
• 42:01
  He
• 42:01
  said,
• 42:01
  I
• 42:01
  don't
• 42:01
  care.
• 42:01
  We
• 42:02
  don't
• 42:02
  want
• 42:02
  anything
• 42:02
  to
• 42:02
  do
• 42:02
  with
• 42:02
  it.
• 42:02
  And
• 42:03
  he
• 42:03
  basically
• 42:03
  kicked
• 42:03
  me
• 42:03
  out
• 42:03
  of
• 42:04
  there.
• 42:04
  I
• 42:04
  almost
• 42:04
  called
• 42:05
  the
• 42:05
  publisher
• 42:05
  and
• 42:05
  said,
• 42:06
  I
• 42:06
  can't
• 42:06
  do
• 42:06
  this
• 42:06
  because
• 42:06
  I
• 42:07
  don't
• 42:07
  want
• 42:07
  to
• 42:07
  do
• 42:07
  this
• 42:07
  to
• 42:07
  these
• 42:07
  people.
• 42:07
  Family
• 42:08
  trauma.
• 42:08
  Yeah.
• 42:09
  The
• 42:09
  second
• 42:10
  book
• 42:10
  you
• 42:10
  wrote
• 42:11
  is
• 42:11
  about
• 42:12
  various
• 42:12
  other
• 42:13
  incidents.
• 42:13
  Incidents
• 42:13
  and
• 42:13
  things
• 42:14
  that
• 42:14
  are
• 42:14
  related
• 42:15
  to
• 42:15
  the
• 42:15
  UFO
• 42:16
  phenomenon.
• 42:17
  Yeah,
• 42:17
  some.
• 42:17
  Some
• 42:18
  and
• 42:18
  some
• 42:18
  not.
• 42:18
  Yeah.
• 42:19
  By.
• 42:20
  From
• 42:20
  your
• 42:20
  experience,
• 42:22
  what
• 42:22
  is
• 42:22
  the
• 42:23
  end
• 42:23
  game?
• 42:24
  Is
• 42:25
  an
• 42:25
  extraterrestrial
• 42:26
  intelligence
• 42:27
  going
• 42:27
  to
• 42:27
  reveal
• 42:28
  themselves
• 42:28
  to
• 42:28
  us
• 42:29
  in
• 42:30
  order
• 42:30
  to
• 42:31
  what?
• 42:31
  Unify
• 42:32
  us
• 42:32
  into
• 42:33
  the
• 42:34
  universe?
• 42:35
  I
• 42:35
  don't
• 42:35
  think
• 42:36
  that's
• 42:36
  going
• 42:36
  to
• 42:36
  happen
• 42:37
  because
• 42:37
  when
• 42:38
  we
• 42:38
  get
• 42:38
  to
• 42:38
  a
• 42:38
  certain
• 42:39
  point
• 42:39
  where
• 42:39
  we
• 42:39
  accept.
• 42:40
  We're
• 42:40
  already
• 42:40
  accepting
• 42:41
  a
• 42:41
  lot
• 42:41
  of
• 42:41
  it.
• 42:41
  Yes.
• 42:42
  When
• 42:42
  we
• 42:42
  get
• 42:42
  to
• 42:42
  a
• 42:43
  certain
• 42:43
  point
• 42:43
  where
• 42:43
  we
• 42:43
  accept
• 42:44
  these
• 42:44
  things,
• 42:44
  it'll
• 42:45
  be
• 42:45
  a
• 42:45
  fait
• 42:45
  accompli.
• 42:46
  I
• 42:46
  mean,
• 42:46
  it
• 42:46
  just.
• 42:46
  Everybody
• 42:47
  will
• 42:47
  think
• 42:47
  so.
• 42:47
  Anyway.
• 42:48
  Willy
• 42:48
  Strieber
• 42:48
  said
• 42:49
  this
• 42:49
  a
• 42:49
  long
• 42:49
  time
• 42:49
  ago,
• 42:49
  I
• 42:50
  think
• 42:50
  in
• 42:50
  a
• 42:50
  Majestic,
• 42:51
  which
• 42:51
  is
• 42:51
  one
• 42:51
  of
• 42:51
  my
• 42:51
  favorite
• 42:51
  books
• 42:52
  of
• 42:52
  his.
• 42:52
  He
• 42:53
  said
• 42:53
  the
• 42:53
  UFO
• 42:54
  intelligence,
• 42:55
  whatever's
• 42:55
  behind
• 42:55
  it,
• 42:56
  reveals
• 42:56
  itself
• 42:57
  in
• 42:57
  the
• 42:57
  most
• 42:58
  democratic
• 42:58
  way
• 42:58
  possible
• 42:59
  from
• 42:59
  the
• 42:59
  bottom
• 43:00
  up.
• 43:00
  It's
• 43:00
  not
• 43:00
  going
• 43:00
  to
• 43:01
  go
• 43:01
  from
• 43:01
  the
• 43:01
  top.
• 43:01
  That's
• 43:01
  what
• 43:01
  I've
• 43:02
  heard.
• 43:02
  It'll
• 43:02
  be
• 43:02
  just
• 43:02
  a
• 43:02
  general
• 43:03
  consciousness.
• 43:04
  Yeah.
• 43:04
  And
• 43:04
  I
• 43:05
  don't
• 43:05
  think
• 43:05
  the
• 43:05
  aliens
• 43:05
  are
• 43:05
  going
• 43:06
  to
• 43:06
  land
• 43:06
  on
• 43:06
  the
• 43:06
  wire
• 43:07
  house
• 43:07
  lawn
• 43:07
  or
• 43:07
  any
• 43:07
  of
• 43:07
  that
• 43:08
  stuff.
• 43:08
  It's
• 43:08
  just.
• 43:08
  Drat.
• 43:09
  Yeah.
• 43:09
  And
• 43:10
  what
• 43:10
  the
• 43:10
  heck
• 43:10
  is
• 43:10
  behind
• 43:11
  the
• 43:11
  cattle
• 43:11
  mutilations?
• 43:12
  And
• 43:12
  what
• 43:13
  do
• 43:13
  you
• 43:13
  think
• 43:13
  about
• 43:13
  whether
• 43:14
  they're
• 43:14
  interbreeding
• 43:15
  with
• 43:15
  humans
• 43:16
  to
• 43:16
  create
• 43:17
  a
• 43:17
  super
• 43:17
  race
• 43:18
  or
• 43:18
  biological
• 43:19
  entities
• 43:19
  that
• 43:20
  can
• 43:20
  travel?
• 43:21
  Possibly.
• 43:22
  I
• 43:22
  don't
• 43:22
  know.
• 43:22
  Possibly.
• 43:23
  Okay.
• 43:23
  Yeah.
• 43:24
  You
• 43:24
  know,
• 43:24
  Phil,
• 43:26
  I
• 43:26
  have
• 43:26
  this.
• 43:27
  What
• 43:27
  are
• 43:27
  you
• 43:27
  on
• 43:27
  the
• 43:27
  show?
• 43:29
  Part
• 43:29
  of
• 43:29
  my.
• 43:29
  Yeah.
• 43:30
  I
• 43:30
  don't
• 43:30
  know.
• 43:30
  I'm
• 43:31
  just
• 43:31
  so
• 43:31
  lucky
• 43:32
  I've
• 43:32
  got
• 43:32
  this.
• 43:33
  This
• 43:34
  way
• 43:34
  my
• 43:34
  brain
• 43:35
  thinks
• 43:35
  I
• 43:35
  will
• 43:35
  believe
• 43:36
  everything
• 43:36
  at
• 43:37
  once
• 43:38
  just
• 43:38
  so
• 43:38
  I
• 43:38
  can
• 43:38
  keep
• 43:39
  the
• 43:39
  channel
• 43:39
  open.
• 43:40
  Yep.
• 43:40
  But
• 43:41
  I
• 43:41
  don't
• 43:41
  sit
• 43:42
  with
• 43:42
  any
• 43:42
  one
• 43:42
  of
• 43:43
  them.
• 43:43
  I
• 43:43
  sit
• 43:44
  with
• 43:44
  some
• 43:44
  of
• 43:44
  them
• 43:44
  occasionally.
• 43:45
  Like
• 43:45
  having
• 43:45
  a
• 43:46
  frame.
• 43:46
  You're
• 43:46
  an
• 43:46
  investigator?
• 43:47
  Yeah.
• 43:48
  Well,
• 43:48
  yeah.
• 43:48
  I
• 43:48
  mean,
• 43:49
  it
• 43:49
  holds
• 43:50
  my
• 43:50
  interest
• 43:50
  and
• 43:50
  there
• 43:51
  is
• 43:51
  something
• 43:51
  behind
• 43:51
  it
• 43:51
  and
• 43:52
  it
• 43:52
  is
• 43:52
  intelligence.
• 43:53
  But
• 43:53
  I
• 43:53
  don't
• 43:54
  know
• 43:54
  what
• 43:54
  that
• 43:54
  intelligence
• 43:55
  is
• 43:55
  or
• 43:55
  how
• 43:55
  it.
• 43:55
  Where
• 43:55
  it
• 43:56
  comes
• 43:56
  from.
• 43:57
  I
• 43:57
  just
• 43:57
  know
• 43:57
  it's
• 43:57
  there.
• 43:58
  I
• 43:58
  think
• 43:58
  we
• 43:58
  need
• 43:59
  to
• 43:59
  continue
• 43:59
  this
• 43:59
  conversation
• 44:00
  with
• 44:00
  you.
• 44:01
  Yeah,
• 44:01
  I
• 44:01
  had
• 44:01
  stuff
• 44:01
  I
• 44:02
  wanted
• 44:02
  to
• 44:02
  ask.
• 44:02
  Phil,
• 44:02
  would
• 44:02
  you
• 44:03
  come
• 44:03
  back?
• 44:04
  I
• 44:04
  would
• 44:04
  love
• 44:04
  it.
• 44:05
  Greg
• 44:05
  Bishop,
• 44:06
  thank
• 44:06
  you
• 44:06
  so
• 44:06
  much.
• 44:07
  Greg's
• 44:07
  an
• 44:08

• 44:08
  journalist
• 44:08
  specializing
• 44:09
  in
• 44:09

• 44:10

• 44:10
  As
• 44:10
  you
• 44:10
  probably
• 44:10
  deduced
• 44:11
  by
• 44:11
  now,
• 44:11
  the
• 44:11
  book
• 44:12
  we've
• 44:12
  been
• 44:12
  talking
• 44:12
  about
• 44:13
  is
• 44:13

  that
• 44:19
  on

• 44:20
  And
• 44:20
  I
• 44:20
  can't
• 44:20
  wait
• 44:21
  to
• 44:21
  see
• 44:21
  what
• 44:21
  kind
• 44:21
  of
• 44:22
  questions
• 44:22
  you

  want

  to

  get
• 44:23
  from
• 44:23
  me.
• 44:23
  Yeah,
• 44:24
  Because
• 44:24
  I
• 44:24
  have

  a

  few

  you
