Transcript
- 0:00Welcome everybody to Mom St. USA.
- 0:02My name is Jackie AKA Wishes Mama and joining me is my cohost
- 0:06Kate AKA the Disney Cicero and this evening on Mom St.
- 0:10USA. We are in part two of our series
- 0:12of one day park itineraries. So we are headed back over to
- 0:17the Disney World side of things after discussing Disneyland and
- 0:21DCA last week, and we're excited to give you guys some really
- 0:24good information tonight. Yeah, I am very excited for this
- 0:28because I feel like I get this question all the time as a
- 0:31creator. If I'm live streaming or
- 0:32whatever and people ask me like what should I do first, how
- 0:35what's the best way to use Genie Plus how do we, you know what
- 0:38what do you do in Magic Kingdom? How do I like plan out my day.
- 0:41And so this is such a, I think, important series because we get
- 0:45to really dig into that and give some recommendations.
- 0:48These are always recommendations for maybe efficient ways to move
- 0:52through the day. But I think we always kind of
- 0:54give the caveat is. It's your vacation.
- 0:57You do what you love to do, and if it's like rope dropping, a
- 1:01ride that nobody else would ever rope drop, because that's what
- 1:03you want to go on first. Do that right?
- 1:06It's your vacation. Exactly.
- 1:07And we still very much promote. Make your priority lists and if
- 1:12there's stuff on this list that you have no interest in doing,
- 1:15don't do it. You know this is just an
- 1:18outline, It is not an end all be all.
- 1:20You must follow the IT A-Z. This is just an outline to give
- 1:24you guys an idea of kind of where to go next if you're lost
- 1:29and not sure what to do. When it comes to being in the
- 1:31parks and especially doing them all in one day, especially in
- 1:34Magic Kingdom which we're going to dive into first because I
- 1:37feel like it is the most asked about when it comes to the
- 1:41Florida parks. So for sure, yeah.
- 1:44And it's where everybody tends to start, even though we don't
- 1:47ever recommend doing Magic Kingdom on Monday if you can
- 1:50avoid it because it tends to be pretty busy that day.
- 1:52But knowing that people tend to start there, we decided to start
- 1:56this this Florida part of the series with Magic Kingdom.
- 2:00Yes, Just figured we'd give you what you're looking for first
- 2:04and then we'll touch on Epcot 2, which is significantly easier,
- 2:07but you still got to have a good game plan going into it.
- 2:09So let's just hop in a couple of general notes about Magic
- 2:14Kingdom. First of all, Main Street USA
- 2:17opens typically an Hourish before early entry.
- 2:22So early entry is that extra half hour of time that you get
- 2:25if you are staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort or
- 2:28at the Swan and Dolphin or you know, one of those partner
- 2:31resorts. So that extra half hour is the
- 2:34early entry. Typically, Main Street USA opens
- 2:37about an hour before that. So if you're wanting Castle
- 2:40Pictures, if you're wanting to enjoy Main Street for a little
- 2:44while, you have plenty of time to do that before any of the
- 2:48rides open, which is very helpful in my opinion.
- 2:52Yeah, for sure. No, I think it's that's such a
- 2:55critical time to get there early and I don't think we can
- 2:57emphasize that enough. I did say it last week with
- 3:00Disneyland, it's just as critical.
- 3:02Disney, I think it's more. More so critical.
- 3:05Well, they're equally critical. Just get there early.
- 3:07Just do it. Wake up there early.
- 3:10Yep. It's worth it.
- 3:11We promise. Yeah, and like we said, this
- 3:13plan is not for someone that's got five, 6-7 days in the park.
- 3:18This is for you have one day in Magic Kingdom.
- 3:21How do we get it all done? The other thing that I will
- 3:24stress is if you're staying on property, I know people don't.
- 3:30Because if you drive or you take an Uber or a Lyft, that all puts
- 3:34you at the TTC, the Transportation and Ticket
- 3:36Center, which is an additional time that you have to leave to
- 3:42take the monorail or the ferry from the TTC to Magic Kingdom.
- 3:47Yeah, I have to say the buses. I don't like the buses, but the
- 3:50buses are elite in terms of where they drop you off for
- 3:53Magic Kingdom. It's like right there if you
- 3:55can't be on a monorail loop resort.
- 4:00Or walk from the contemporary. Those are That's pretty much
- 4:03your best option. Yeah, Yeah, yeah.
- 4:05Because it, I mean, it will add at least at least 1/2 hour to
- 4:11the time that you're planning to get yourself into the parks.
- 4:14So we talked about getting there.
- 4:15I would say getting there about 45 minutes before rope drop.
- 4:20Yeah, You know, so if you're going to the TTC, add an extra
- 4:2320 to 30 minutes on top of that just because you're going to
- 4:27need that time. The ferry boat does tend to be
- 4:29faster. If you are planning to or you
- 4:33have to end up at the TTC for whatever reason, the ferry boat
- 4:37tends to be faster than the monorail.
- 4:39But it just kind of all depends on timing and what you when you
- 4:43walk up what what is available and what is just left or you
- 4:46know those types of things. I do feel like the ferry is also
- 4:50a little more magical of an experience.
- 4:53I mean, I do like the monorailish, You know, like the
- 4:56kids like monorail. The model is not as magical as
- 4:59it is in Disneyland because it has issues.
- 5:01But it's I think the fairy is really magical because you're
- 5:04like it's like you have to go across the water to get to the
- 5:08Magic Kingdom and it's like you went on a journey and you get to
- 5:10see the castle get closer and it's just a very I prefer that
- 5:14if I was going to do that. The view is much more
- 5:16picturesque as you cross the water and you know the monorail
- 5:22is great for what it is, but you're also in much closer
- 5:25proximity to people and you never know what you might get.
- 5:29You never know. You never know.
- 5:31So the monorail is like a box of chocolates.
- 5:34I don't know what which monorail you're going to get.
- 5:38That's so true. So if you have to go to the TTC
- 5:41again, plan an extra 20 to 30 minutes and take the ferry would
- 5:45be my suggestion. Because even if you've just
- 5:48missed a ferry, they run them very consecutively as much as
- 5:52they can. So chances are that your wait
- 5:54will not be very long. OK, let's talk about Genie Plus.
- 5:58Just general notes again. We did a whole episode on Genie
- 6:02Plus, so if you want more details about booking, and I'm
- 6:06going to reference some things in this episode that we talked
- 6:09about in that Genie Plus episode.
- 6:10So bookmark that for listening to later on if you need to catch
- 6:15up on that, but your Genie Plus is going to be booked at 7:00 AM
- 6:21for Magic Kingdom. It is almost imperative and
- 6:25essential that you have multiple devices booking your 7:00 AM
- 6:28times for Genie Plus because of the Tron virtual queue, so
- 6:34that's not technically Genie Plus.
- 6:36So whether you're using Genie Plus or not, at Magic Kingdom,
- 6:39you are still able to join that virtual queue at 7:00 AM.
- 6:44If you miss the 7:00 AM, they also have that 1:00 PM that
- 6:46you've got to be in the park for.
- 6:48But it's so important to have someone just devoted to that
- 6:52virtual queue. And then if you're only planning
- 6:54one day in Magic Kingdom, you've got to have a second device,
- 6:57second person on your Genie Plus, so that way you don't miss
- 7:01out on those morning times for your first booking.
- 7:04So that's super. Slight ask like crazy, which
- 7:07I've done before. Well, we don't recommend that
- 7:10for like first timers if you're not used to it.
- 7:13Like, only if you're like a park pro, yeah, Do you multitask.
- 7:17And I've done that before. Like iPad, phone, laptop with
- 7:21time.gov pulled up like I've been in there, done that if you
- 7:24have to. Right now, if you're on a solo
- 7:27trip, like Kate said, you may just have to get your virtual
- 7:32queue first. Always, always, always get your
- 7:34virtual queue first because that will sell out within seconds and
- 7:39you will still have some wiggle room with your genie plus
- 7:43lightning lanes if you don't get an early time for what you want.
- 7:47Just a couple of notes. You say ally, Beth said.
- 7:50Morning multitasking date happened for me and I feel that
- 7:54Ally Beth like I am not about that.
- 7:57I'm like I morning is so hard. Me.
- 8:00I legit OK little behind the scenes for Kate.
- 8:03OK real time if I have to get. If I have to get that virtual
- 8:08queue and it's all on me. I have this like the most
- 8:11obnoxious alarm clock you can ever think of that sounds like
- 8:14like. The world is on fire and it's
- 8:17like, it gives me like this adrenaline rush that gets me up
- 8:21enough that I can like book all the things and then I'm like,
- 8:23I'm in panic mode. It's awful.
- 8:25It's probably horrible for my likes body, but but it works.
- 8:31That's fine. And I book the things.
- 8:33And then I sometimes I go back to sleep depending on what
- 8:35return time I get. So right, right, exactly.
- 8:39So a couple of notes just about the virtual queue.
- 8:41And again, we've gone into depth of this in our Genie Plus
- 8:43episode, but check your Wi-Fi signal versus 5G to make sure
- 8:46you have the fastest speed for booking.
- 8:49And then you also have to decide about Withtron, especially
- 8:53because it's such a new attraction.
- 8:54You may decide that you want to do it more than once.
- 8:58The only way you can do it more than once is by purchasing the
- 9:01individual Lightning lane and doing the virtual queue.
- 9:04You can only do one virtual queue per day and only one Tron
- 9:08individual Lightning lane per day.
- 9:09So that's kind of your options there.
- 9:12Tron will typically cost you 20 to 25 per person, so it is quite
- 9:17a budget breaker. If you've got a family of four
- 9:21or five, you're looking at a good chunk of change, so keep
- 9:25that in mind. The other individual Lightning
- 9:28lane to consider at Magic Kingdom is 7 Dwarfs Mine Train.
- 9:32That one is significantly less expensive.
- 9:34It will run you typically 10 to $12.00 per person, so about half
- 9:37the cost of Tron. But you know, Tron is brand new.
- 9:40IT hasn't even been open a year yet.
- 9:42So it kind of makes sense that that's what we're looking at
- 9:46comparatively. Yeah, but you can't.
- 9:48You cannot. For those who are not familiar
- 9:51with Tron or virtual queues or whatever, Just as a reminder,
- 9:54right now whenever Disney comes out with a new ride, there's no
- 9:57way to just stand in line to wait for that ride.
- 10:00You have to do a virtual queue or you have to do the individual
- 10:02lightning lane, but you can't just walk up to the ride and be
- 10:05like, I want to get in line. You won't be able to go on it at
- 10:08all. So just be aware that when
- 10:10Disney comes out with new rides, this seems to be kind of their
- 10:12mo for how they do new rides right now.
- 10:16Just be very aware that there's probably a virtual queue on it
- 10:19and check your app to see if that's available.
- 10:22Yes, and I will say I'm very interested to see what happens
- 10:26when Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens because it.
- 10:30Will get kicked out. I don't know.
- 10:32Or will they have two in the same park and then are they
- 10:35adding another individual lightning lane?
- 10:37Cuz like that, just that's just a lot.
- 10:39OK. Anyway, that's a discussion for
- 10:41another time. When we get closer and we have
- 10:43more details and we probably will discuss that.
- 10:45When we get closer, we have more detail for sure.
- 10:49A couple other notes just about Tron.
- 10:51I promise I'm not going to talk about Tron the whole time, but
- 10:53keep in mind that a lot of people want to be able to ride
- 10:56Tron at night because of the way that the lights work with the
- 10:59canopy when you go outside. The only way to guarantee that
- 11:03you can do that is to purchase the individual lightning lane,
- 11:06your boarding group time from your virtual queue.
- 11:09Remember, you cannot pick that time, so keep that in mind.
- 11:13If you're wanting to ride it at night, you really are going to
- 11:15have to budget to do that individual lightning lane,
- 11:18because that's the only way to guarantee it.
- 11:21I was just going to say sometimes that line that's
- 11:23really long too, if it's past the morning time into the
- 11:26afternoon, that line can can take like 45 minutes plus.
- 11:31If you're doing the virtual queue in particular, so just
- 11:34keep in mind that it does take a chunk of time to do the virtual
- 11:37queue. If you're trying to get through
- 11:39everything in Magic Kingdom quickly, individual lightning
- 11:43might be your best bet. If you're short on time, yes,
- 11:45exactly. And Lem made a good point over
- 11:47here. He said.
- 11:48Or you could only go for the 1:00 PM virtual queue, but then
- 11:51that risks that you can't ride it at all.
- 11:53And there have been times where I have done the 1:00 PM queue
- 11:56and gotten it and the ride time has been like 5:00 PM.
- 11:59So it's even with the 1:00 PM Q, there's still no guarantee.
- 12:03The only way to guarantee you being able to ride it when it's
- 12:06dark outside is to do that individual lightning lane.
- 12:08So options there, you definitely want to decide that the night
- 12:12before. As far as Tron, make a game plan
- 12:14for Tron. Are you doing the virtual queue?
- 12:16Are you doing individual lightning lane and make a game
- 12:18plan for seven dwarfs? Are you going to do the
- 12:21individual lightning lane or are you going to use an early entry
- 12:25rope drop to avoid trying to pay for that and try to rope drop
- 12:28it? So we'll get to that here in a
- 12:29little bit and kind of what that looks like when it comes to
- 12:32that. So you definitely want to plan
- 12:33all of that ahead of time to make sure you, you know what
- 12:37you're gonna do, even if it's literally just the night before,
- 12:41right before you go to sleep, make sure in your head you know
- 12:43what you're doing. Communicate with your other
- 12:45person who's booking with you. Make sure they know what they're
- 12:47doing. My husband and I are really good
- 12:50about. OK, It's time to go to bed, say
- 12:52good night, and then I'll remind him, hey, in the morning.
- 12:55Remember, he loves me for it. It's great.
- 12:59He's like, Yep, I got it. Uh huh, I got it.
- 13:01And that's fun. But then in the morning, we're
- 13:03still just like, you're doing this and I'm doing this right?
- 13:05Right. Right.
- 13:06Yes. OK, good.
- 13:06We're good. We got it.
- 13:08It's so funny. Every couple has their own like
- 13:10system cuz Elliot and I like I go to bed late and he wakes up
- 13:14early. So our system is always like I
- 13:16text him in the middle of the night for stuff that he'll read
- 13:18first thing in the morning, and that's his reminder.
- 13:21Whatever works. Build a command center to get
- 13:24Tron virtual queue. Pretty much slim.
- 13:26You gotta build a command center.
- 13:27You gotta have your plan. You gotta know what you're
- 13:29doing. Don't wake up.
- 13:31Minutes before and panic like we don't want that for you.
- 13:34So at least 5 minutes before. That's at least I get fucking
- 13:39myself. 4 minutes 4 minutes to get up and be awake enough to do
- 13:43it. But I've read it a lot, so you
- 13:44might need more time, right? Yeah.
- 13:46And depending on how comfortable you are with that, you know that
- 13:49all that all depends. So again, this plan that we're
- 13:53going to jump into here shortly is a one day trying to get as
- 13:56much done in Magic Kingdom as possible.
- 13:58So taking time to do things like parades did, the stage show,
- 14:02cavalcades can be inserted anywhere in the plan.
- 14:04However, it will limit the rides.
- 14:05So it really just depends on what your preferences when it
- 14:08comes to what you want to do. Again, we will always stress
- 14:13making that priority list with you, with yourself.
- 14:16If you're a solo traveler or with with the people that you're
- 14:19traveling with, you want to make sure you have that plan so you
- 14:22know what you're going to do. The praise and cavalcades do
- 14:26start by what is becoming Tiana's Bayou Adventure and and
- 14:30going down Main Street to the train station.
- 14:32And I will mention that the stage show, if you're someone
- 14:36who's interested in characters but you don't want to take the
- 14:38time to stand in line for meet and greets.
- 14:41The stage show is actually a really good way to see those
- 14:43characters because it includes Mickey and all of his friends.
- 14:47It includes Tangled characters, Princess and the Frog characters
- 14:50and Frozen characters. So a lot of characters in a I
- 14:53think 25 minute show. So that may be one thing to
- 14:57consider and that does have set times in the app that you can
- 15:01view that one at the castle stage.
- 15:03So that is an option because I didn't really put a ton of
- 15:05character meet and greets on this plan because to me a lot of
- 15:09people that are doing one day in Magic Kingdom are going to want
- 15:12to be ride centered. So that's kind of what I went
- 15:14with for that for sure. And space that they have that
- 15:17stage show, like Disneyland doesn't have a stage.
- 15:20They do have like shows that happen right in front of the
- 15:24castle, especially with like the Disneyland band and Mary Poppins
- 15:27and stuff. So they do have some, but it's
- 15:29not the same as these like organized big extravaganza shows
- 15:32that happen multiple times. So.
- 15:35Right. And I think it's like 5 or 6
- 15:36times throughout the day that that happens.
- 15:38So definitely, if you want to try to fit that in, be aware of
- 15:41that when you're going through and booking, OK.
- 15:44So we talked about Genie Plus things.
- 15:47So before entering the park, 7:00 AM is super important,
- 15:50deciding what you're going to do with your virtual cue and your
- 15:53individual lightning lanes. But let's talk about regular
- 15:56lightning lanes, because remember, they're a whole
- 15:57separate category. So you're what you're going to
- 16:00book first for your regular lightning lane really depends on
- 16:03your rope drop strategy. So two different strategies that
- 16:08you can kind of use for rope drop depending on where you are
- 16:13and who you are and what your ride preferences are.
- 16:16But these are my two suggestions.
- 16:17If you have early entry, meaning you're staying at a Disney
- 16:20resort, you get that extra half hour.
- 16:22I would highly suggest rope dropping things in Fantasyland
- 16:27because and this sounds very similar to what Kate talked
- 16:30about at Disneyland trying to get some of that Fantasyland
- 16:34stuff out of the way. So I would go and again it
- 16:40depends on what you what your preferences are but the top two
- 16:43rides to do to rope drop would be 7 doors mine train if you're
- 16:46not paying for an individual lightning lane or Peter Pan.
- 16:52Now the thing about Peter Pan is a lot of people rope drop Peter
- 16:55Pan. So you really want to set
- 16:57yourself up for success and be as close to the front as you can
- 17:01be without pushing and shoving. But just get there early and get
- 17:05to the get to the front so that you're in a good position to be
- 17:09able to do that if if you don't, it's going to push back
- 17:14everything and that's just the way that it is regardless of
- 17:17whatever ride you're going to. And I'll say with 7 dwarfs mind
- 17:21train, if you are rope dropping that and you are a resort guest,
- 17:27that's what you're talking about right now, right early entry.
- 17:29So this has happened to me like two or three times when.
- 17:34We were still some went near the front and everybody started
- 17:37going and then that line gets really long and you're looking
- 17:40at it and like this is wrap it around the corner.
- 17:42This is crazy. Don't panic because they just
- 17:45haven't opened the queue yet for it.
- 17:48Usually, as long as you're not like way over by Little Mermaid,
- 17:52you know, like if you're not around the corner by Ariel, it's
- 17:55probably going to go. Within 20 minutes usually, which
- 17:58is the shortest it's going to be all day.
- 18:00So it's worth it to just don't panic, just get in line.
- 18:04It's going to be chaos. Embrace the chaos and get in
- 18:07line. Yeah, exactly.
- 18:10And I will say with rope drop, make sure you have plans for if
- 18:13you've got a stroller or if you're, you know, dealing with
- 18:15some of those extra things. Have a plan.
- 18:17Like what my family usually does is like, I grab my kids by the
- 18:20hand, My husband runs the stroller to stroller parking,
- 18:22and then he comes and you know, we wait for him right at the
- 18:25entrance and we all jump in line together once he's with us.
- 18:28So definitely have a plan for all of that.
- 18:30And I know that sounds crazy, that you're like planning it
- 18:32down to the like to the minute, but you literally have to to be
- 18:35able to get the most out of your morning at Magic Kingdom.
- 18:38Yeah, we're talking about a day when you're trying to get as
- 18:41much done as possible. So there's absolutely you can do
- 18:44just me at a more relaxed pace and not be stressed out and not
- 18:48plan as much, but you're not going to get as much done.
- 18:51That's just a fact. This is the way it is,
- 18:53unfortunately. So, yeah, so if you've got that
- 18:56early entry, head to Fantasyland, Aside from there,
- 18:59what you want to do with that? And then if you do not have
- 19:02early entry, if you're staying off property, you know Airbnb's
- 19:07other hotels, things like that, then my suggestion would be to
- 19:10rope drop Frontierland and Adventureland, so the complete
- 19:13opposite side of the park because that section actually
- 19:15doesn't open until park open. So you're not going to have
- 19:19those wait times already existing when you go to get in
- 19:22line for something. So that can be super helpful.
- 19:24So you're and then you can focus on your Genie plus using it on
- 19:28those other rides and trying to get through as many stand by,
- 19:31stand by rides as you can in that section of the park.
- 19:35So that being said, the first couple Genie Plus attractions
- 19:39that I would book would be depending on your strategy,
- 19:43again depending on which direction you're going, Peter
- 19:47Pan or Jungle Cruise. Those are going to be your first
- 19:50two that I would suggest. So if your rope dropping 7
- 19:54dwarves make sure you book a Peter Pan.
- 19:57If you are not headed that direction and you're headed the
- 20:00other direction, book Jungle Cruise, because that time will
- 20:03skyrocket really fast and the return times for Genie Plus for
- 20:08Jungle Cruise will be 1:00 PM before you know it.
- 20:13So you want to make sure that you get that in and done so that
- 20:16way you're not having to circle back and backtrack.
- 20:19We talked about this last week. I try my best when I do these
- 20:22these plans to not not have people crisscrossing all the way
- 20:27across the park because that can be very tiring.
- 20:30So you just really got a plan based on proximity and where
- 20:33where you're going with that. So Peter Pan or Jungle Cruise
- 20:36would be first followed by depending again on preference
- 20:41and what you'd like to do, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain
- 20:44and then I even put Haunted Mansion in there because those
- 20:46times can be pushed later as well and it could be harder to
- 20:49kind of work that in depending on what area you're going to
- 20:531st. So that's kind of your first
- 20:56little section of of your Genie plus that you're going to.
- 21:01And now if I will say if you only have one or two devices
- 21:07like 3 devices would be perfect because then you can have one
- 21:09person booking Tron, one person doing an individual lightning
- 21:13lane and one person or device in a.
- 21:15Private world, I know you have 3 phones.
- 21:18They break our iPad just for that purpose.
- 21:22For magic. Kingdom when we go.
- 21:24But if you're if you're not able to do that, book your Tron
- 21:29virtual queue first. Do that first.
- 21:31Get that done and then I would suggest booking your first
- 21:34lightning lane, regular lightning lane because you want
- 21:38that time to be as early as physically possible to be able
- 21:41to best utilize that Genie Plus throughout the day.
- 21:44And then after that, if you're doing individual lightning
- 21:46lanes, 7 dwarves and Tron individual lightning lanes will
- 21:49not sell out like most of the morning.
- 21:53So do the. Left.
- 21:55I'm getting a comment from May says this is a sport and I 100%
- 21:59agree, it's like, all right, we're going to train and we're
- 22:03going to get ready. We're good.
- 22:04It really is practice round. I've always said that going to
- 22:08Disney World is like a marathon and you have to train for it.
- 22:12You have to train like physically.
- 22:13You have to train mentally. You have trained emotionally.
- 22:16You have to just be ready for what you're stepping into and if
- 22:19you haven't trained. It's gonna be rough, right?
- 22:23Just like if you ran a marathon without training, right?
- 22:26Exactly, exactly. So yes, it's a lot.
- 22:28But again, Tron first regular. Lightning lane still fun and
- 22:36then individual lightning lane last.
- 22:38And remember that individual lightning lane, you can pick
- 22:40your time so you can kind of gauge okay.
- 22:43I'm starting on this side of the park.
- 22:45I don't want to do it first thing in the morning anyway, so
- 22:47that'll that'll kind of help with that.
- 22:51So that's kind of the gist of your Morning Genie Plus process.
- 22:56Again, that's going to highly depend on your rope drop
- 22:58strategy in which direction that you go.
- 23:01So if you go to Fantasyland, as many of these in standby, you're
- 23:06going to want to try to do before the park officially
- 23:08opens. And a lot of the time you're
- 23:12going to be able to get the majority of Fantasyland done
- 23:16within that first half hour there, right, compared to.
- 23:21Yes. Like, yes.
- 23:22So you're gonna start with standby for either Peter Pan or
- 23:267 Dwarfs if you're going to Fantasyland.
- 23:28If you're able to then flip flop those and get the other one in,
- 23:31that's great. It just really depends on on
- 23:33crowds. If you're there and the crowds
- 23:35are are really low, you may be able to do both.
- 23:38First thing, if you're there during the midst of the holidays
- 23:43or, you know, peak season, you're you.
- 23:47Probably not. If I'm being completely honest,
- 23:49you're not going to be able to get both of those done standby,
- 23:51so you're going to have to make a separate plan for that.
- 23:54But then you can also, while you're in that section of the
- 23:56park, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea, Small
- 23:59World, those types of things you can branch over into, like
- 24:04teacups in that area. Or you could head over the other
- 24:07direction to Cortana Mansion. It just really depends on what
- 24:10your preferences are, but I would just go for rides that are
- 24:14top, you know, on your priority list, top priority, and get
- 24:17those done first. If you go to the adventure land
- 24:22route of everything, then you're gonna want to.
- 24:26I know it's like opposite for you, but you're going, you're
- 24:29going to the left when you enter.
- 24:34Was that for me? I know, and that's left for me.
- 24:37But we're opposite, so it's fine.
- 24:38We're not confusing people at all.
- 24:40Go to the left, if you're going to adventure land area then
- 24:47you're going to want to do Jungle Cruise, stand by first
- 24:49you're going to want to rope Jungle Cruise and then hit Big
- 24:52Thunder Mountain Pirates and Haunted Mansion and kind of
- 24:55finish up the the bigger ticket rides on that section of the
- 24:59park. Now that wasn't everything in
- 25:01those sections of the park, but we'll we we're going to have to
- 25:03circle back and do some of the lower wait time rides later in
- 25:08the afternoon. So those are kind of the ones
- 25:11that I would suggest hitting in the morning are your priority
- 25:14rides and then the rides that I've listed.
- 25:16Depending on if you do Fantasyland, you may be able to
- 25:19just swing over and continue down and work your way into
- 25:22Adventureland if you did Adventureland.
- 25:24Depending on the the ride times for some of these attractions in
- 25:28Fantasyland, you may be able to after you hit Hauna Mansion,
- 25:30just swing up and around and go into Fantasyland.
- 25:34Again, it's all completely dependent on your on the crowd
- 25:37levels and the time of year and all of the above.
- 25:41It can be a little unpredictable.
- 25:43So just kind of having a general game plan can be helpful and
- 25:46then you just kind of have to go with the flow.
- 25:48You just roll with it and when the when everybody starts
- 25:51pouring in around you know 10/30/11, you just be like let's
- 25:54go get some a snack. Doesn't that acknowledge what?
- 25:59Yeah, that perfectly segues into the next section that I was
- 26:01going to talk about. So however that pans out for
- 26:04you, that's going to take up your morning, that's pretty much
- 26:07going to take up, you know, because you're there early.
- 26:12You also may want an earlier lunch.
- 26:13So I would say that's going to take up until 11 or noon
- 26:15depending on your schedule. So mobile ordering lunch is
- 26:21super important and mobile ordering dinner is super
- 26:23important. Magic Kingdom doesn't have like
- 26:30amazing quick service. It has decent food that will do,
- 26:35but it does not have amazing quick service.
- 26:38There's a couple hidden gems maybe here and there, but again,
- 26:41overall it's theme park food when it comes to that when it
- 26:45comes to the quick service. You'll be fed, you'll get food,
- 26:49you'll eat. Yes, there is edible things that
- 26:53will suffice. So a couple options of places
- 26:57that you can mobile order. Casey's Corner is a really
- 27:00popular one, cosmic rays, Columbia Harbor House, Friars
- 27:04Nook and Pinocchio Village House.
- 27:05So those are just kind of a general like one of those five.
- 27:08You're probably going to get something pretty good or you
- 27:10want to make sure that you mobile order and I would even
- 27:14put in that mobile order like if you know you have a lightning
- 27:18lane at 11:00 to 12:00 and you're going to get in line for
- 27:21it at 11, right before you get in line at 11, go ahead and
- 27:24place your order And then when you're off the ride you can you
- 27:28know finalize and all of that. So that way you're kind of doing
- 27:32that while you're in the midst of everything.
- 27:34And the other thing is those, those quick service rotation or
- 27:38those quick service restaurants are all kind of spread out.
- 27:43So depending on where you are in the park may just determine
- 27:46where you decide to go. If you're over in Tomorrowland,
- 27:49you may decide to go to cosmic rays if you know those types of
- 27:52things. So keep that in mind as well.
- 27:54Don't cross park if you can avoid it, just cuz you're gonna
- 27:57exhaust yourself. Yeah.
- 27:59And I I would also say, especially if it's particularly
- 28:03hot outside, I definitely recommend Columbia Harbor House
- 28:08is always kind of my go to cuz my family loves it and there's a
- 28:10ton of seating upstairs. So don't stay downstairs, go
- 28:13upstairs. There's lots of wonderful
- 28:15seating up there. But I also I don't love the food
- 28:18at Pinocchio Village house, but it is indoor and AC and has a
- 28:23place to refill as good water. And sometimes you can get a nice
- 28:26view of small world and so it's like it's a good kid friendly
- 28:29A/C. My kids love it because it's got
- 28:30pizza and that's like what they, you know, that's a good option
- 28:33for them. But yeah, that's a really good
- 28:35point. I just don't recommend Cosmic
- 28:38rays, but it is a C There's a C in there and seating, but I
- 28:41don't recommend the food. So that's all I got.
- 28:44Again, it's mediocre park food that will do.
- 28:47Some of their specialty stuff they have at Cosmic Rays has
- 28:50been better recently. That's true of their like
- 28:52specialty burgers and stuff like that.
- 28:54So again, it really just depends on what type of food you're
- 28:56looking for. You're looking for something
- 28:58light. Are you looking for something
- 28:59more filling? You know all of the above.
- 29:01I'm if you're someone who just likes to snack along the way.
- 29:05We did a whole episode on Magic Kingdom Snacks.
- 29:07It is episode 20 of our podcast, so it have covered that already.
- 29:12So we're not going to really touch on that tonight.
- 29:14So you can go back and find that in episode 20 of our podcasts,
- 29:18as far as that goes. OK, so that takes you through
- 29:23lunch. And I know I'm rattling this off
- 29:25very, very quickly and believe me, graphics are to come with
- 29:29all of this kind of organized for you guys.
- 29:31So we'll get those to you. I started them and did not have
- 29:34time to finish them this week. So coming to a Mom Street social
- 29:38platform near you. It's been it.
- 29:41I will just give you a little insight.
- 29:42Our world has just been very busy recently.
- 29:44So we are working on getting all the things to you and we will
- 29:47get them soon. Yes, exactly.
- 29:50So that kind of takes you through lunch.
- 29:52Let's talk about the afternoon. And this is where you will see
- 29:56some of those wait times really fluctuate.
- 29:58Some will jump up really high, some will not.
- 30:01It just really depends. So this list that I'm going to
- 30:05give you, they tend to be lower weights or they tend to have
- 30:09almost immediate Genie Plus return times available because
- 30:13that's also something you want to consider.
- 30:15If you're trying to burn through rides really, really quick.
- 30:18Looking at the closest return time so you're not having to
- 30:22stand around and wait in between lines is really, really
- 30:25important. Several of these options may not
- 30:29need Genie Plus in order to ride with little to no wait.
- 30:32So again, check the app, pivot accordingly and you and you can
- 30:36also use these rides to fill in between your other Lightning
- 30:39lane bookings as well. You just have to really look at
- 30:41those wait times and decide if you've got 10 or 15 or 20 or
- 30:44whatever minutes to give in your overall plan for the day.
- 30:49Can I do just a quick little plug?
- 30:52I'm not sponsored at all by touring plans, but I do use
- 30:55touring plans a lot, especially at Walt Disney World, because
- 30:59you can even plug in what return times you have and they'll
- 31:02optimize your day based on your return times, which is so
- 31:05helpful for someone who's just not used to doing any of this.
- 31:08So if you are a Disney, maybe? Just one time subscription fee.
- 31:13I feel like it was around $18.00 ish.
- 31:16It's not that much for your if you're like investing in this
- 31:19really expensive occasion, honestly it's worth it.
- 31:22And you can also then check wait times.
- 31:25Current wait times if they can optimize it for you and tell you
- 31:28where to go or you can just check at the current wait times
- 31:31are often a little bit more accurate there than they are on
- 31:34the Disney World app because Disney does manipulate their
- 31:37wait times to get people to where they want to go.
- 31:40So. Yes.
- 31:41So just a little plug for that. If you're feeling a little bit
- 31:44overwhelmed with the details and you need like a tool to help you
- 31:47just a little bit, you're like just tell me where to go next
- 31:50because I can't think about where to go next.
- 31:52That might be a good resource for you.
- 31:54So Yep, yeah, exactly, exactly. So this list would be what I
- 31:59would look at for the afternoon. These are all Genie plus
- 32:03attractions and then I'll get into ones that are non genie
- 32:07plus here in a minute. So things like the Barnstormer,
- 32:11Dumbo, Mad Tea Party, Magic Carpets of Aladdin fill her
- 32:16magic and laugh floor, which those two especially are good in
- 32:19the afternoon because they are inside attractions fill her
- 32:22magic. You very rarely need it for
- 32:24laugh floor. You can get stuck in longer
- 32:26lines, so definitely keep an eye on that.
- 32:29If it's showing like a 20 minute wait that is going to be a hard
- 32:3220 minute wait. If it's showing 3040, whatever
- 32:34it may be. So using one, if you've got
- 32:37wiggle room and you've got time to be able to use it and it's
- 32:40showing you an immediate time, book it and do it that way.
- 32:43It's a much better plan when it comes to that one.
- 32:47And then some other options that you have on Genie Plus would be
- 32:52things that do involve characters.
- 32:54So they do have character meet and greets on our Genie Plus.
- 32:57That includes the it's an attraction and a character meet
- 33:00and greet and one The Enchanted tells with Bell.
- 33:02That's a really, really popular one.
- 33:05So that's when you're going to want to definitely keep an eye
- 33:07on throughout the day. But these other characters are
- 33:09also available on Genie Plus visiting Princess Just House
- 33:17Tiana and a visiting Princess, which is typically Rapunzel.
- 33:20So those ones are all available on Genie Plus to use.
- 33:23There are lots of other characters that you can also
- 33:25find in the parks, but they are not available to use your Genie
- 33:28Plus on. So again depending on your
- 33:31priority list, depending on what you and your travel party are
- 33:33wanting to do, using Genie Plus for that may be helpful because
- 33:37especially Mickey's time can fluctuate a lot up and down
- 33:42based on the time of day because it is right inside the park.
- 33:45So you will get people to just go there first.
- 33:48Same thing with the princesses, their times can fluctuate a lot
- 33:50throughout the day and they're typically fairly high weight
- 33:52times when it comes to those Princess meet and greets.
- 33:55So do keep that in mind if you're looking for that and then
- 33:59non Genie Plus you've got the Walt Disney World Railroad which
- 34:03is a nice relaxing ride but also a ride that can get you across
- 34:09the park without you having to walk.
- 34:11So in the afternoon if you are getting tired and you are over,
- 34:16you know close to the Big Thunder Mountain area and you
- 34:18need to get over to do Buzz Lightyear or anything around
- 34:23that side, you could always hop on the train if you don't want
- 34:25to have to walk across the park. So that is something that is
- 34:28helpful to be able to utilize. A couple other things that are
- 34:33show based that you can do Country Bear, Jamboree, Hall of
- 34:37Presidents, Carousel of Progress and Channing Tiki rooms.
- 34:41So those are all indoor shows that would be helpful.
- 34:44A/C breaks or if you know that like hey nothing is working on
- 34:48our time schedule, we've got 30 minutes to kill.
- 34:51Those are really great options for that.
- 34:53And then the other ones would be doing the Liberty Square
- 34:57Riverboat, so Family Tree House and Tom Sawyer Island.
- 35:00So those are all kind of filler, depending again on what your
- 35:04preferences are and what your priorities are.
- 35:07And then the last ones that I'll mention, the Prince Charming,
- 35:10Regal Carousel and People Mover are not available on Genie Plus.
- 35:14The other one that is very difficult to navigate is
- 35:18Astroorbiter. It is not a Genie Plus.
- 35:22Ride it. Should be.
- 35:24It feels like it should be and the the weights for that are
- 35:30crazy for whatever reason. Because what it is, it's it's a
- 35:34very slow loading attraction because of the elevator system
- 35:38that they utilize. So if that's like top priority,
- 35:43you're going to have to sacrifice some other things and
- 35:45you're going to either have to do it like first at rope drop or
- 35:49do it last during fireworks or last at the end of the day.
- 35:54Yeah, only rope drop Astro Orbiter if it's like the thing
- 35:57your kid wants to do. Yes, that's it's not a great use
- 36:00of your time but if it's if it's we'll make your kids day or your
- 36:04day, right? Do it right.
- 36:07It's your certification. Yep.
- 36:09That was one of those that like we happened to catch at like a
- 36:1215 minute wait. And I was like, OK, we need to
- 36:15do it because I had never done it.
- 36:17I've only done it once in everything.
- 36:19I've only done it once in my life.
- 36:20I think we we were over in that area already.
- 36:22We're like, OK, we're just going to go do it so we can do it once
- 36:25and now we don't have to do it again.
- 36:28I learned by doing it that you cannot fit two adults in those
- 36:32without getting stuck. So maybe adult and a child will
- 36:38fit, but like a small child, but don't put two adults in it.
- 36:42And I we learned that the hard way.
- 36:44So yeah, don't do that. Keep that in mind.
- 36:47So that is a tricky 1 to navigate.
- 36:48So depending on where it falls on your list, you're just going
- 36:51to have to kind of fit it in where you can.
- 36:54Yeah, Colleen says that People Mover is one of her favorite
- 36:58breezes on a on a hot day in Disney World.
- 37:01I agree. I actually, Elliot and I
- 37:04realized we didn't go on people over this last trip at all.
- 37:07And I was like, how did we do that?
- 37:08It's like my favorite thing. But I agree, People Mover.
- 37:11It's a great way to just sit back and relax, get a little
- 37:14breeze. You know you can.
- 37:17If it's not busy sometimes you can ask the cast member if
- 37:21they'll let you go around again, but be kind.
- 37:24Say please. If they say I'm sorry you got to
- 37:27get off, just don't make a fuss and get off.
- 37:28But once. Sometimes they'll let you go
- 37:30around a second time. You know, if you need a little
- 37:32extra time sitting on the people mover, Yeah.
- 37:34And I will say if you're in really good shape with your plan
- 37:37for the day and you don't have very many big rides or anything
- 37:41left, riding people mover during the fireworks is really, really
- 37:44fun because there are certain views from there that you can
- 37:48just, you get the this gorgeous like panoramic view of the whole
- 37:52hub and all the people standing down there and the castle lit up
- 37:55in the fireworks. And so that's a really fun time
- 37:58to ride it. I mean, anytime of day is good
- 38:00to ride it because like you said, it's just, it's just a fun
- 38:02attraction. You get a bird's eye view of
- 38:04Tomorrowland and get to go inside some of the attractions.
- 38:07So it's a fun one for sure, and a nice one that you typically
- 38:12don't have to wait too long for, which is helpful.
- 38:15It's true. And you know that is nice a nice
- 38:18idea of kind of like multitasking some of those rides
- 38:22during fireworks. If you're like, if you are, you
- 38:25kind of want to see the fireworks, but you really mostly
- 38:27want to get through all the rides, then you can kind of do
- 38:29both by both with the Astro orbiter and with the people
- 38:32mover. But the people who are probably
- 38:33have a shorter line. So yes, yeah, because.
- 38:36And there are people that that use that trick.
- 38:39You know, there's quite a few people that will want to try to
- 38:41do Astro Orbiter, more so Astro overt Orbiter, like you said
- 38:44during the fireworks. But people do try to do that on
- 38:49people mover as well. So again, it just really depends
- 38:51on where you're at in your bliss for the day, how you're feeling.
- 38:55If you're just like, Nope, done, then go sit on that.
- 38:58People move here for a couple of rounds while the fireworks are
- 39:00going off and then yeah, you know, get off before the end of
- 39:03fireworks so that way you can hop in line for something.
- 39:06It's also good for introverted people or people who don't like
- 39:10a lot of crowds. You know, we have a couple
- 39:12places we recommended to watch fire fireworks from, but it can
- 39:16be a little intense in the Hub. There's a lot of people.
- 39:18So if you're like kind of crowd avoidant people, whoever, is a
- 39:22great move for that because you're for sure distance from
- 39:25everybody else. And I'll just say.
- 39:29Other places include over in Frontier Land, Bridge is a great
- 39:31one, or Over Behind the castle or by Gaston.
- 39:34So you're not going to get all the projections necessarily that
- 39:37you would see, but you will see the fireworks and you'll hear
- 39:40the music and stuff and so good places without crowds.
- 39:43Yeah. And I will mention, we talked a
- 39:45little bit about this on the Disneyland episode, but things
- 39:47like the people mover, the train, the places like that,
- 39:51that you're like sitting but still enjoying the attraction
- 39:53are also good ones to use. Like if you're in the midst of
- 39:56trying to click clack, which is a method that we learned from
- 39:59our friend Kirk at Walrus Carp, where you're just kind of
- 40:02refreshing and hopping back and forth between times on Genie.
- 40:04Plus trying to get something to be in a certain time frame.
- 40:07Doing something like that in the meantime can be really helpful,
- 40:11especially if you're traveling with kids, because then your
- 40:13kids aren't just, like, standing with you off to the side of the
- 40:16sidewalk in the middle of Magic Kingdom, and they're like.
- 40:19Mom, come on, we got to go. What are we doing?
- 40:22Let's go. So doing doing something like
- 40:24that can be really helpful for that people.
- 40:26Mover does have some dark parts that you go inside of buildings.
- 40:30So just like keep that in mind that you want to make sure your
- 40:32screen is not bothering anyone. But those types of rides are
- 40:36important. Or you know, for for for taking
- 40:39a break, but they are also helpful for that type of thing.
- 40:42Yeah, for sure. You know, that's definitely
- 40:44true. OK.
- 40:45So that for sure will take up your afternoon depending on how
- 40:49far you get down on that list, depending on which attractions
- 40:52you're pulling from that list. So mobile ordering for dinner,
- 40:55again, similar like what we talked about for lunch.
- 40:58Or if you're snacking, you know, that's all kind of the same.
- 41:00Again, do your best to mobile order ahead of time so that way
- 41:03you can save some time that way. And then really the only ride
- 41:07that is kind of a wild card, so to speak, on Genie Plus is Buzz
- 41:13Lightyear. And I don't know why it is, but
- 41:15it just really because here's the thing, you put Space
- 41:19Mountain on that list for Genie Plus early in the day.
- 41:23In my personal opinion, it doesn't make sense to do,
- 41:28they're in a similar vicinity. But it doesn't make sense for me
- 41:30to do Buzz then, because you're still so early in your park day
- 41:33that there's so many other things that you could do
- 41:35instead. Yeah, nothing against Buzz.
- 41:38It's a fun attraction, but it just doesn't make sense to put
- 41:41it first thing in the morning. So to me it makes sense to do it
- 41:44later in the day. So I would suggest doing that
- 41:47after dinner, after fireworks, kind of towards the end of your
- 41:50day, and you should have no problem being able to get a
- 41:53genie. Plus time that coming up very
- 41:55soon for that if you do it towards the end of the day.
- 41:58Yeah, Hope says do buzz later with carousel progress.
- 42:02Yeah, if the lines not. Horrifically long.
- 42:05That is a good strategy because you're in the same area and
- 42:08people who could bundle them all together in that same area and
- 42:12not have to do a lot of walking. So that is unfortunately one of
- 42:16the places in Magic Kingdom that you are going to end up
- 42:18backtracking because Space Mountain will be at a different
- 42:21time than kind of the rest of Tomorrowland.
- 42:23But that's just what makes the most sense with covering the
- 42:26most ground and getting the most attractions done as far as one
- 42:31day in Magic Kingdom, the other thing that you can do at the end
- 42:34of the day, you know, go through and make sure there's any other
- 42:37rides that you missed or second rides on anything you did stand
- 42:41by. So in the morning, if you get
- 42:43through four or five Fantasy Land attractions or four or five
- 42:47Frontier Land Adventure land attractions, if you do stand by
- 42:50for them, you can go back and book them on Genie Plus and get
- 42:54second rides on some of those. So that's something that we like
- 42:57to do as we try our best to do, stand by in the morning of
- 43:00those. That way, later in the day we
- 43:01can book a second ride on them, though utilizing that rope drop
- 43:04strategy to also maybe hit some of your favorite rides too.
- 43:08If you're torn about which direction to go, that may help
- 43:11sweat you one way or the other. If there's things that you're
- 43:13like, oh, if we have time, I'd really like to do that a second
- 43:15time using Genie Plus. Yeah, that's a good idea.
- 43:19Good strategy. OK.
- 43:21So that covers the majority. I was just with Genie Plus.
- 43:28Yep, Take a breath. So that is kind of a rundown of
- 43:34Genie Plus. And the other thing that I will
- 43:36mention is there, I mean, a lot of travel agents.
- 43:38And then you've got people like myself who we like building
- 43:41travel itineraries for people. So if you're using touring plans
- 43:44or not or if you need some extra help, you know, reaching out to
- 43:47people like that, I know, like I said, a lot of travel agents
- 43:50will do it. That is a service that I provide
- 43:52as well. So if you're like, I have no
- 43:54idea where to go when I work with people, I say, OK, send me
- 43:57your top six or seven in Magic Kingdom and I will.
- 44:01I'll fit them all in for you, and I'll make it all work for
- 44:03you, especially with Jeannie Plus.
- 44:05Jackie is brilliant at it, by the way.
- 44:07She's amazing. So yes, just saying, my little
- 44:12little plug for Jackie, that if you're feeling completely
- 44:15overwhelmed by all this and you're like, I can't, I just
- 44:18want to enjoy my vacation. I don't want to think about any
- 44:20of this, then contact Jackie. She knows what's up.
- 44:24And that's my favorite thing about what I do, is I get to
- 44:26give people the ability to not be glued to their phone because
- 44:30I do it for them. Not, yeah, doing this the whole
- 44:33time. That was a very good impression.
- 44:36That's exactly what I look like. We've all been there.
- 44:38Exactly, exactly, like ready to go.
- 44:41Gotta find it, all of that. And there are lots of other tips
- 44:44about how to set up your Genie Plus and how to set up your tip
- 44:47board and those types of things. And again, we did talk about
- 44:50that in our Genie Plus episode. So refer back to that if you've
- 44:54got questions about that, and if you don't find your answers in
- 44:56that episode, then please send us a message because we are
- 44:59happy to help and get you off on a better foot so you're not so
- 45:03lost going into your Magic Kingdom day.
- 45:06Yeah, Kathy says she could attest to your amazingness.
- 45:10She says she's a miracle worker. Gave us the best days at Disney,
- 45:13so thanks Kathy for that feedback.
- 45:15Thank you. Feel like you needed to hear
- 45:18that? All righty.
- 45:19So we went to that. So we have we had Magic Kingdom
- 45:23without with GD Plus. So now we're going to like if I
- 45:26we don't want to buy Genie Plus. It's not in the budget we don't
- 45:29like. What do we do?
- 45:30How do we approach this help, what do we do.
- 45:33Jackie, Okay, good news is you still have the ability to ride
- 45:39Tron, if that's something that's important to you because like we
- 45:41mentioned earlier, that virtual queue is something that is
- 45:45available to everyone regardless of Genie Plus.
- 45:48The other thing that I will mention is maybe you don't want
- 45:51to do Genie Plus, but you know you want to do Tron twice.
- 45:55You can buy an individual Lightning lane without
- 45:58purchasing Genie Plus. So if you're like okay, my
- 46:02budget is this Tron is my top, top, top, top priority, then I
- 46:09want to take my $20 instead of putting it towards Genie Plus, I
- 46:12just want to put it towards Tron.
- 46:13That is an option that you have. Same thing for Seven Dwarves.
- 46:16If that's a top priority for you and you want to spend your money
- 46:18on that, that's an option as well.
- 46:21But that virtual queue for Tron is free and available same
- 46:25process that we just talked about earlier.
- 46:27So that's station of 1 device. So that is an option that you do
- 46:31still have regardless of if you're using Genie Plus or
- 46:35lightning lanes or individual lightning lanes or all of that
- 46:38type of thing. The other thing I will mention
- 46:39that I don't think I mentioned earlier is the return window for
- 46:44Tron is very strict, so you really want to pay attention as
- 46:51soon as it kicks on and tells you so, right?
- 46:53When you book Tron, it's not going to give you an estimated
- 46:56return time because it's. It's it fluctuates too much and
- 46:59they took that off of the app because it was never right.
- 47:02So once the park gets closer to open, then it's going to give
- 47:06you a more realistic time frame and you're going to be able to
- 47:08tell if you are within the first twenty groups.
- 47:14You're barely going to be able to get one or two rides in
- 47:17before you're going to have to head to Tron.
- 47:20Yeah, if you are 30 to 50, you're looking around lunchtime
- 47:26generally speaking, but that could change if the ride goes
- 47:30down, you know, all sorts of things.
- 47:32Weather, Tron typically doesn't close in the weather, but you
- 47:35know, you never know what may happen.
- 47:37So just keep that in mind as well in your plans, because if
- 47:41you get a super early boarding group for Tron, maybe it makes
- 47:44sense to stay in fantasy land and not go over to adventure
- 47:48land because logistically where you're going to be.
- 47:51So keep that in mind as well. Your rope drop plan is going to
- 47:55really be the same as what we talked about earlier.
- 47:57If you've got early entry, you're going to rope drop
- 47:58fantasy land and hit those rides as many as you can, as quick as
- 48:01you can. If you've got regular park
- 48:03entry, you're going to do the frontier land and adventure land
- 48:05side. So that aspect pretty much stays
- 48:08the same because you're doing standby either way regardless of
- 48:13if you're using Genie Plus for the majority of that.
- 48:16I it's it's feel like just just do Fantasyland.
- 48:20Like if you if you take nothing else away from this series just
- 48:24go to Fantasyland first. We thank you we have glore you.
- 48:29Yes, Fantasyland, yes. So again Fantasyland would be
- 48:34something like Peter Pan or 7 Dwarfs to start who bear under
- 48:37the sea, small world, those types of things.
- 48:40If you're doing Adventure Land, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder,
- 48:43Mountain pirates, Haunted Mansion, that kind of area.
- 48:45So those are kind of your two. And again, depending on crowds,
- 48:49if you're able to then flip flop and go to the opposite location
- 48:52from that, get as much done as you can, That is really your
- 48:55your best strategy, especially when you're not using Genie plus
- 48:59getting there early and rushing through rides as much as you
- 49:03can. In between rides, enjoy the ride
- 49:05while you're on them, but you got to walk with purpose and
- 49:07know exactly where you're going next.
- 49:09You cannot waste any time getting off a ride and going.
- 49:13I wonder where we should go next.
- 49:15No, you got to have. Don't.
- 49:16Do that. Don't do that.
- 49:19No. Like like as soon as I get in
- 49:21line, if we have any downtime in line at all, I'm figuring out
- 49:24where we're going next. I'm like if I have touring plans
- 49:27I'm I'm opt reoptimizing my like you know like.
- 49:30Touring. Plan to see where they're
- 49:32sending me next time. Like just know where you're
- 49:34going so you don't waste your whole day.
- 49:38That's what we want for you. It's to not waste your time,
- 49:41exactly. Try to figure out where to go
- 49:43because it's a bummer and I will also mention though.
- 49:46However, if you do rope drop adventure land and then try to
- 49:49swing around to do Fantasyland, most likely Peter Pan and Seven
- 49:53Dwarves are going to be off the table.
- 49:55You may get lucky, but most of the time they're going to be off
- 49:58the table. My advice for that would be to
- 50:01ride them during fireworks or at the very end of the night,
- 50:05because that's going to be your best chance at the lines being
- 50:08not quite so long and not having the lightning lane slow down the
- 50:13standby queue. They're always going to give
- 50:15those priorities. So if you're going in the middle
- 50:17of the afternoon, you're going to have hundreds of people using
- 50:21that lightning lane that is going to make that standby line
- 50:23slow down quite a bit. So using it during times where
- 50:27people are off doing other things, like during fireworks or
- 50:29when just the park is generally empty or you just you're out of
- 50:32time, there's no more lightning lanes available for to come
- 50:37after you, you know those are going to be your best bets for
- 50:39those if you if those are like top priority on your list.
- 50:44Now, Yep, I agree. And then lunch and snacks, same
- 50:48thing. So we kind of hit eventually in
- 50:50Fantasyland as much as you possibly can until lunchtime,
- 50:54same as what we talked about before, mobile ordering or doing
- 50:57snacks, if that's kind of more of what you're looking to do.
- 51:01And then really the afternoon list looks and sounds very
- 51:05similar to what we talked about before because again, these
- 51:08rides tend to have lower weights and you're going to be able to
- 51:13get on them fairly quickly. And there's some of them are
- 51:15within close proximity of each other, so things like
- 51:18Barnstormer and Dumbo and Mad Tea Party.
- 51:21So that kind of little area you should be able to get on most of
- 51:24those with 20 minutes or less. When it comes to that magic
- 51:29carpets of Aladdin, that one can be hit or miss depending on
- 51:33what's happening with like Jungle Cruise and Tiki Room kind
- 51:36of in that area. So you may want to if you can
- 51:41just walk on that after you do Jungle Cruise.
- 51:42That's not a bad one to just throw in in the morning if you
- 51:45know that you can walk right on it, get right on it, and get it
- 51:48done. But again, magic Carpets and
- 51:50Dumbo are essentially almost identical in the way that the
- 51:54rides operate, so maybe you don't need to do both whenever
- 51:57you go on your one day trip to Magic Kingdom.
- 51:59So plan accordingly. I guess it depends on if you
- 52:02want the camel to spit on you on the the carpets or if you want
- 52:06to. Just stand in the walkway.
- 52:08Yeah, exactly. Feel her magic is usually not an
- 52:11issue at all. Laugh floor.
- 52:13Be very, very cautious getting in that line because it it can
- 52:18be very, very long. If that line is outside, do not
- 52:23do it. Just don't do it.
- 52:26Just don't do it if you're even if you're just inside the the
- 52:29building, you're in a much better place than you would be.
- 52:31If you're outside in that the queue that's outside, just just
- 52:34don't do it. And then Tomorrowland Speedway,
- 52:37which that one again can fluctuate as well.
- 52:38So just kind of keep an eye on it throughout the app or use
- 52:41your touring plans optimization if that's something you're going
- 52:44to be utilizing. And then the railroad again, you
- 52:47just have to wait for the train to come around.
- 52:49So it's never usually too long of a wait for that.
- 52:52And then again, character meet and greets or shows, depending
- 52:54on what your priorities are with that dinner.
- 52:58Again, I sound like a broken record.
- 53:00Same thing as before, Mobile order, snacks, those types of
- 53:03things. And then after dinner will
- 53:05highly depend on what you're able to accomplish during the
- 53:08morning. During the fireworks is a
- 53:10really, really, really good time to prioritize the rides you
- 53:15missed in the morning and go there.
- 53:18Even getting in line 1/2 hour before fireworks start, you will
- 53:22start to see those lines decrease.
- 53:25People aren't using their lightning lanes during fireworks
- 53:27time because they're camped out in the hub waiting for those
- 53:29fireworks to start. People aren't getting in line
- 53:32because they're camped out in the hub.
- 53:33So depending on what time the fireworks are, about 1/2 hour
- 53:37before fireworks start, start to think about, OK, you know,
- 53:40Haunted Mansion is my one priority during fireworks.
- 53:42Cool, go do that. Or Big Thunder Mountain or what,
- 53:45whatever it may be if you missed it in the morning that's the
- 53:48best time to circle back to that And then after fireworks again
- 53:52kind of that tomorrow and things like buzz light year for
- 53:55whatever reason. It just that's just where it
- 53:56fits the best when it comes to that.
- 54:00And then also again like I mentioned, if you did not rope
- 54:03drop Peter Pan or 7 doors if you didn't get both of those done
- 54:06riding during fireworks. Or it's a lot to say and it's
- 54:08also a lot to do. And I found, you know,
- 54:12especially if you're traveling with children, which we're.
- 54:15You know we are mom St. we're we won't talk a lot about traveling
- 54:18with kiddos and you might not want to do it all.
- 54:22You know like maybe you do maybe you're like you're like we want
- 54:25to run around and get to everything and especially if you
- 54:27have older kids this might be something like they really want
- 54:29to do you know but it don't push yourself to get to everything
- 54:35because that's not going to make your day more enjoyable.
- 54:38You can. You can just prioritize the
- 54:40things that you you really want to do.
- 54:43And then enjoy it, you know, enjoy it.
- 54:45The take breaks. See a cavalcade that walks by
- 54:50and not, you know, feel like, Oh no, we got to get to the next
- 54:52thing, you know like, because it's the reality is you probably
- 54:55aren't going to get to everything on there, especially
- 54:57without Genie. Plus it's just like it's so
- 55:01hard, especially if it's busy. So you know, don't push yourself
- 55:05to I have to see it all in order to have experienced magic came
- 55:08down because that's just not true.
- 55:10You just right. You can do like you could have a
- 55:13really wonderful day and only go on like 3 rides and I'm a ride
- 55:16person. OK.
- 55:17But and then you can there's lots of other things you can do
- 55:20to enjoy your day there so right you know so take we we want to
- 55:24give you a strategy to get on as much as possible but also
- 55:27recognize that you don't have to to have a great yes absolutely.
- 55:31And this is again, like we said at the beginning, it is not the
- 55:34end all be all list. Pick off of this list and go,
- 55:37Yep, I want that one and that one and that one and build your
- 55:40own itinerary based off of that. This is just like, hey, if you
- 55:44want to bust out everything that you possibly can, this is the
- 55:47best way to get through literally every ride and
- 55:51attraction in the park that we possibly can squeeze into one
- 55:54day. Some of that is also going to
- 55:56depend on the park hours. We talked a little bit about
- 55:58this with the Disneyland episode.
- 56:00There has been significantly less hours that Magic Kingdom
- 56:05has been open, so you definitely want to take that into
- 56:08consideration as well. If you're someone that's
- 56:09fortunate enough to get the park open until 11 or midnight,
- 56:13you're going to be great. You're going to be able to get
- 56:15through everything on your list. I'm almost positive if you take
- 56:20our advice, but if you know if you're someone who is going in
- 56:27the park is closing at 10:00 PM, it's a lot harder to get through
- 56:31everything because that of when the fireworks fall with park
- 56:35close and all of that type of thing.
- 56:36So there's a lot of variables when it comes to your Magic
- 56:40Kingdom days. Yeah, and be cognizant too of
- 56:43those. Extended hours are really great,
- 56:46but there's going to have to be a tradeoff on the other side.
- 56:49Usually on the, especially if you're traveling with children
- 56:52like you cannot be out, just just.
- 56:54If the parks open till 11, you're not even getting out of
- 56:57there until you know 11:30 once you get, if that, on a
- 57:00conservative 1130. And then you still have to do
- 57:03transportation to get back to wherever you're staying.
- 57:07And it's you're not going to get back there till like, you know,
- 57:10one AM 1:30 at sometimes. So you're not going to be able
- 57:14to wake up at like 5:30 in the morning the next day to start
- 57:17getting ready for rope dropping the next thing.
- 57:19So there will have to be a trade off there.
- 57:22If you have those late night hours, you're probably going to
- 57:25need to sleep in a little bit more the next day.
- 57:28So just keep that in mind or do it right before a rest day when
- 57:32you know you're going to get to have a day off anyway.
- 57:35That would be a really great strategy for that.
- 57:36If you're going to do a late night, then accordingly because
- 57:39the rest is super super important if you want to be able
- 57:43to enjoy the rest of your vacation.
- 57:47Yeah, and you will burnout if you're not careful.
- 57:49It's so easy at Disney World, especially Disneyland too, but
- 57:53Disney World especially because it's that marathon pace.
- 57:56And if you don't pace yourself, if you don't take breaks, if you
- 57:59don't get enough sleep, it will catch up to you at this is, this
- 58:02is voice of experience here. I'm almost always completely
- 58:06burnout by the end of my trip where I can like, barely, I'm
- 58:09like not coherent. But when I travel with my kids,
- 58:12I'm more cognizant of it because they need sleep.
- 58:15And as a mom, I'm like I. I don't take care of myself, but
- 58:17I'm going to take care of my kids, right?
- 58:19Like, horrible, horrible mom truth in there.
- 58:22So but yeah, making sure that you build, you build your
- 58:25schedule. Like sometimes if I'm doing
- 58:28solo, I'll build it. So like maybe I'm going to Epcot
- 58:30the next day where it opens a little later and I get an extra
- 58:33hour of sleep. And sometimes that helps a lot
- 58:35to offset it. But yeah, take care of yourself
- 58:38and don't feel like you need to do rope drop to fireworks every
- 58:42single night of your trip. Yeah, and planning to have a
- 58:45rest day or 1/2 of a rest day or whatever it may be is is really,
- 58:50really important with with your littles.
- 58:52I mean, my oldest really doesn't nap typically anymore.
- 58:56He's out of that phase. But when we go to Disney, he
- 59:00naps, I know, but he naps because we're just it's so much.
- 59:05But then like giving him that time to rest and lay down in the
- 59:11cool dark room even if he doesn't sleep, is so important.
- 59:15And it made it so like my kids lasted until almost 11:00 PM and
- 59:19we're happy as a clam at Mickey's.
- 59:21Not so scary when we went in October, you know, because we
- 59:24had prioritized that rest in the day of we had slept in and you
- 59:27know, done all of those things. And it gave us such a good
- 59:30experience at that party, which is like something that they
- 59:34still talk about being tired and trying to navigate Jeannie.
- 59:38Plus and these park days is it's a lot for anybody who's wide
- 59:44awake and ready to go. So doing it on a sleepy brain is
- 59:47not helpful either. Right, Hope says.
- 59:51I just saw a study that laying down and resting, even without
- 59:54napping, still gives you almost the same energy.
- 59:56That's really interesting and valuable.
- 59:59Yeah, so even if you're just, you know, you just just putting
- 1:00:03your feet up, yeah, get out of this.
- 1:00:05Get out of the heat in the crowds and put your feet up and
- 1:00:06rest. That's always, a always a good
- 1:00:08strategy. So with that being said.
- 1:00:11Shall we move on to Epcot, which I think is simpler than Magic
- 1:00:14Kingdom in some ways. So this shouldn't be quite as
- 1:00:17extensive in this, which is intentional on our behalf.
- 1:00:21We wanted to pair one that was a little more complicated with one
- 1:00:23that's maybe not as much so. So Jackie, what you got for us
- 1:00:29for Epcot? All right.
- 1:00:30So with Epcot. It is still important to be
- 1:00:33there early, don't get me wrong, but it is not as imperative as
- 1:00:37Magic Kingdom to be like up in the front ready to go super
- 1:00:41duper early. You still want to get there half
- 1:00:43hour to 45 minutes ahead of time just to give yourself time to go
- 1:00:46through security and get through and be able to tap in and and
- 1:00:49get yourself all situated and know where you want to go at
- 1:00:53this park. It is important to note that
- 1:00:55rope drop happens at 2 locations.
- 1:00:58So depending on how you're entering the park will impact
- 1:01:02your rope drop strategy. If you're entering at the front
- 1:01:06of the park, or if you're entering at what is known as
- 1:01:09International Gateway, which is around in World Showcase between
- 1:01:14the UK and France pavilions, there is that location as well.
- 1:01:18So if you are someone that is on a Skyliner Resort or you are at
- 1:01:21an Epcot Boardwalk Area Resort Beach Club Yaka.
- 1:01:25Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin, you can walk from your resort or if
- 1:01:28you're taking the Skyliner, you are going to end up at
- 1:01:31International Gateway. So keep that in mind.
- 1:01:34If you're taking a bus or you're driving or Uber or Lyft or any
- 1:01:39of that type of transportation, you're going to enter at the
- 1:01:42front of the park. So two different locations and
- 1:01:45that will determine kind of what I suggest as far as strategy
- 1:01:49goes with that. So I'll get to that in a minute.
- 1:01:52I just want to. Preface with that so that way
- 1:01:54when I get there, everyone's not like, wait, what's going on?
- 1:01:56So you have a quick question, hopes asking if you come from
- 1:02:02like Grand Flirty and Monorail to TTC Transportation Ticket
- 1:02:06Center and then Epcot, do you still already do you have to do
- 1:02:09security again? I'm pretty sure you don't.
- 1:02:11I think you're passing at that point.
- 1:02:13So you only do it once, yeah? Yes, if you're taking the the
- 1:02:17Monorail, that's the only way that you will.
- 1:02:20I don't even say bypass. You're not bypassing security.
- 1:02:22You've already gone through security.
- 1:02:24You don't have to. Yes, you don't have to do it
- 1:02:26again when you get to the parks. Your entrance off of the Epcot
- 1:02:31monorail is inside of security when you get to Epcot, yes,
- 1:02:35that's not the case for the Skyliner or buses or any of
- 1:02:38that. That's just for Monorail, yes.
- 1:02:42Thank you, Jackie. Yes, no problem, Okay.
- 1:02:45So let's talk about Genie Plus. And what that means for Epcot,
- 1:02:51the first thing that I want to want to mention is again about a
- 1:02:54virtual cue. Cosmic Rewind guards the Galaxy.
- 1:02:56Cosmic Rewind is the other virtual cue that exists at Walt
- 1:02:59Disney World right now. So it has a virtual cue and
- 1:03:02individual lightning lane option just like Tron did.
- 1:03:05However, I will say the times for Cosmic Rewind are much more
- 1:03:08flexible than Tron. From what we've seen that could
- 1:03:11change. We don't know that that is going
- 1:03:14to continue on going forward. So I will.
- 1:03:17Heed my warning about that. If that's one of your top picks,
- 1:03:19I wouldn't chance it just in case.
- 1:03:22I mean, I've had people when I went in May, I booked a 7:00 AM
- 1:03:25virtual queue for Cosmic, got like group 25 and didn't ride it
- 1:03:30until 7:00 PM and had no issue. But again, yeah, we don't know.
- 1:03:36You never know. So just I will, I will mention
- 1:03:39that. But I will also caution you that
- 1:03:41again if that is like your top priority ride.
- 1:03:45Go as soon as it's called because you don't want to miss
- 1:03:47that. Don't risk it for sure.
- 1:03:50And then it does have an individual lightning lane.
- 1:03:52However, with this one, the individual lightning lane
- 1:03:54timeframes are not not as important because it doesn't go
- 1:03:59outside or in the dark, Electron does.
- 1:04:01Cosmic rewind is not as difficult to get the virtual cue
- 1:04:06as Tron is. So you still want still do all
- 1:04:10the things, especially if you've never been on it before.
- 1:04:12You know, do the 7:00 AM do be, be on your on the ball, get it
- 1:04:16so that you don't have to stress about it.
- 1:04:18But it is much easier to get the second return time in the day as
- 1:04:22long as you're tapped into the park.
- 1:04:24Like I have never had a hard time getting that as long as I'm
- 1:04:27paying attention to the time. Sometimes it's even open a
- 1:04:31couple minutes after, but don't depend on that.
- 1:04:32Just it's just not as stressful. In really low crowds, it'll be
- 1:04:37open until 4:00 PM some days, which is just crazy.
- 1:04:40I mean, Tron was that way for a bit during some of the slower
- 1:04:43weeks earlier this year too. So it was like one of those
- 1:04:46moments where we're like, whoa, that's crazy.
- 1:04:48So, you know, it all just depends on, again, crowds and
- 1:04:51and those types of things. So for this one I would suggest
- 1:04:54when you're booking in the morning, having two devices, one
- 1:04:57to be devoted to the virtual queue and the other to be
- 1:05:00devoted to getting your first Lightning lane.
- 1:05:03And same thing now Cosmic Rewind is your only individual
- 1:05:07lightning lane option. If you get the virtual queue,
- 1:05:10you may decide to opt out of doing an individual lightning
- 1:05:13lane. Do keep in mind that same thing
- 1:05:16applies as what we talked about with Tron.
- 1:05:17Even if you got the virtual queue, that is still going to
- 1:05:21take you possibly upwards of an hour total, because sometimes
- 1:05:25that virtual queue line is 4045 minutes to an hour and then it's
- 1:05:29got. 2 preshows and another cue you have, you know, there.
- 1:05:33It's just it's an extensive process to go on that
- 1:05:35attraction. Yeah, great attraction, but it's
- 1:05:38just an extensive process to go. So if you're like Nope, I know
- 1:05:41I'm not going to have time to spend an hour to an hour and a
- 1:05:44half on Cosmic, then do the individual lightning lane.
- 1:05:46That's your best way to get in, get you know you're not going to
- 1:05:50miss anything by doing it. You're just going to have a
- 1:05:53quicker cue, a quicker, you know, shorter wait time to get
- 1:05:56to those preshow rooms that you have there.
- 1:05:59Yes, Yep, I agree. I have waited 45 minutes to an
- 1:06:04hour with the pre shows with everything for that.
- 1:06:07So it is you're not saving time with the virtual queue.
- 1:06:11I think I travel with somebody recently maybe it was my
- 1:06:14husband, he was just like we already waited for this.
- 1:06:17How can we have to wait again? I was like it's like the standby
- 1:06:21line because there is no standby line, so.
- 1:06:25We just had to wait for our turn to get in the standby line.
- 1:06:29I understand, I understand the logic, but yeah.
- 1:06:32So 7:00 AM, when you're booking, you're going to book your
- 1:06:35virtual queue. If that's something you want to
- 1:06:37do, you're going to book an individual lightning lane.
- 1:06:39If that's something you want to do, your first ride is going to
- 1:06:44depend on your rope drop location.
- 1:06:46So I mentioned that earlier. If you are rope dropping the
- 1:06:49front of the park, so you have come in on the monorail, the
- 1:06:52buses, a car of any type. You're going to be at the front
- 1:06:57of the park. Your best bet is to rope drop
- 1:06:59frozen ever after. So you're going to go into the
- 1:07:03park and then head to the left once you get to World Showcase.
- 1:07:07If you are someone who's coming in International Gateway again,
- 1:07:11those resorts we talked about earlier, you are going to want a
- 1:07:14rope drop, Remy. It's significantly closer to you
- 1:07:17and it just makes a whole lot more sense.
- 1:07:19So you're not crossing paths with people who are rope
- 1:07:22dropping the opposite and making your wait time go up because of
- 1:07:25that. So that's my suggestion as far
- 1:07:28as that goes. Your first lightning lane that
- 1:07:30you book is going to be the opposite.
- 1:07:32So if you're a rope dropping Remy, you're going to book
- 1:07:34frozen for your first return time, your rope dropping frozen,
- 1:07:38you're going to book Remy for your first return time.
- 1:07:40So that's kind of the first thing you're going to have to
- 1:07:43figure out is where are we entering the park and what rides
- 1:07:47do I need to book when because of that.
- 1:07:50So that's kind of your first thing and then after that.
- 1:07:54The next two rides that I would book would be Test Track and
- 1:07:57Soren. This park has less rides than
- 1:08:00Magic Kingdom, so using some of the methods we talked about in
- 1:08:04our Genie Plus episodes with click clacking and refreshing
- 1:08:07and all of that type of thing on the app can really be to your
- 1:08:10benefit. Because in my opinion the rides
- 1:08:12are easier to kind of manipulate that way.
- 1:08:15So if you booked Remy because your rope dropping frozen but
- 1:08:19your Remy time isn't until like 11:00 AM.
- 1:08:22As soon as you book it, hop back on and start trying to modify it
- 1:08:25and chances are really good that you're going to get an earlier
- 1:08:27time. So use that to your advantage
- 1:08:29because I feel like the times circulate a lot more often
- 1:08:32because of that. Just from my experience.
- 1:08:36OK, where we at? Yes.
- 1:08:37So that will get you through the morning.
- 1:08:39So pretty much OK, Frozen, Remy test track Soren.
- 1:08:44And then depending on your virtual queue time, I always
- 1:08:46suggest trying to piggyback. Cosmic, when you are in the test
- 1:08:50track area because they're right next to each other that way,
- 1:08:53that area you're kind of you're done with those two, two of the
- 1:08:57three on that side of the park. So that will take up the
- 1:09:00majority of your morning food options at Epcot.
- 1:09:05There are so many options. It's really hard to take your
- 1:09:09favorite. Yeah, literally.
- 1:09:11It's really hard to like when people ask me, well, what should
- 1:09:13I eat at Epcot? Oh gosh, where do I start?
- 1:09:17So look at the if there's a festival going on, look at the
- 1:09:20festival booths. Quick services are going to be
- 1:09:23your fastest options to save time for attractions if that's
- 1:09:26what you're focused on. Again, utilizing mobile order,
- 1:09:29those types of things are all really beneficial.
- 1:09:33We do have snack guides that I did just want to mention on our
- 1:09:36Instagram page. So if you go to our Instagram
- 1:09:38page, the little highlight. Little circle bubbles underneath
- 1:09:42kind of our bio there is one that says eats and if you go on
- 1:09:45there, we have full snack guides for all six United States Parks
- 1:09:50that all exist on there. If you're looking for
- 1:09:53recommendations in Epcot, that would be your place to find them
- 1:09:56because TikTok ate our episode on Epcot snacks and we never got
- 1:10:00back. So I went to go reference it in
- 1:10:04my notes because I was like, Oh yeah, I'll put in what episode
- 1:10:07number it was. Yeah, yeah, it's just.
- 1:10:12Sad day anyway. OK, it's fun, yes, but it does
- 1:10:16live in that highlight reel on our Instagram page, right, for
- 1:10:20that. So you can find it there if you
- 1:10:23are in need of some guidance. And those I will mention those
- 1:10:26snacks that we put on there are non festival snacks.
- 1:10:29So it's stuff that's there year round.
- 1:10:32I have cotton so. And if you're looking for, if
- 1:10:36you're looking for just like a again like an air conditioned
- 1:10:39place to sit down and eat which there's there's you know it can
- 1:10:42be hot walking around the world and there's not a lot of places
- 1:10:45to sit there. You know I I feel like for
- 1:10:48families Sunshine Seasons is like a surprisingly good option
- 1:10:53and it's inside the land pavilion.
- 1:10:54So if you're hitting up, I agree.
- 1:10:56So we're in or living with the land or anything like that.
- 1:10:58That's a great place for families.
- 1:11:01Also great place to fill up your water bottle too for free with
- 1:11:03free ice water so. Yeah.
- 1:11:05And I will say, I kind of kept that in mind because the way
- 1:11:09that I typically do, my morning Soren is usually one of the last
- 1:11:12ones I do before our lunch break and we do typically eat inside
- 1:11:15of there. It's wonderful for families.
- 1:11:17It's a place we always tend to seek out when we have kids and
- 1:11:20we need to sit down in the A/C somewhere besides the other one
- 1:11:25would be. Connections Cafe.
- 1:11:27I was like it's always A/C words and I always get them confused.
- 1:11:31Could against got the connections where you know like
- 1:11:34Starbucks is in there and whatnot too but there's there's
- 1:11:37the whole eatery cafeteria kind of style.
- 1:11:40It's a gets a little bit more airplane, airport vibes in
- 1:11:43there, but it is in the A/C and there is a fair amount of
- 1:11:47seating, so. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:11:50So those were be my two suggestions for that as well.
- 1:11:52So all of that information will hopefully yay.
- 1:11:56Are we surprised? No, no will hopefully guide you
- 1:11:59towards some good options for food.
- 1:12:02And again, we're going to be a broken record.
- 1:12:04Same thing when it comes to dinners, you're going to want to
- 1:12:06look at those same types of options.
- 1:12:08OK, So your other Genie plus attractions at Epcot, again,
- 1:12:12some of these will need Genie plus, others will not.
- 1:12:15I would. Highly, highly suggest booking
- 1:12:18these based on the proximity in the parks and available return
- 1:12:22times. Epcot is is one that even I get
- 1:12:27caught backtracking a lot and going cross park.
- 1:12:30It's really easy to do because of just the way that everything
- 1:12:34is situated, especially with all of the construction walls and
- 1:12:37things that are still up right now.
- 1:12:39So things like figment, living with the land.
- 1:12:45You know, even the if you if you feel the need to use a Genie
- 1:12:48Plus reservation on the Pixar Short Film Festival, you
- 1:12:51probably don't need it. But if you feel the need to, you
- 1:12:55know to each their own. The Seas with Nemo and Friends
- 1:13:00and Turtle Talk are both in that same building over at the Seas
- 1:13:03Mission space and Spaceship Earth.
- 1:13:05So that is kind of your comprehensive list of what is
- 1:13:08available when it comes to Genie Plus and again all of those.
- 1:13:13Of those, I would say mission Space, Spaceship Earth are
- 1:13:18probably your top two that are going to be later when you try
- 1:13:23to go to book return times. But things like living with the
- 1:13:28land, those are going to be fairly recent, early, soon when
- 1:13:31it comes to your return times for the majority of the day.
- 1:13:36And then the thing about Epcot, that will.
- 1:13:39Will take your time so to speak is there are a ton of non genie
- 1:13:44plus attractions, shows, entertainment, things that you
- 1:13:47can experience while you're there.
- 1:13:49So shows each country has performers specific to that
- 1:13:52country. So check your app if you're like
- 1:13:54wanting to take in some of those kind of performances.
- 1:13:58We have seen a lot of those start to come back over the last
- 1:14:01several months, which is really exciting to have.
- 1:14:03A lot of those performances really in World Showcase St.,
- 1:14:06really, really nice. Yeah, and then there are some
- 1:14:09indoor shows and videos. If you choose The American
- 1:14:15Adventure, The Beauty and the Beast, Sing Along, Canada, Far
- 1:14:17and Wide Reflections of China, those types of ones are more
- 1:14:20indoor theater type attractions. Again, if you're walking around
- 1:14:25the World Showcase and you're like, I got to get out of the
- 1:14:28heat, duck into one of those, give yourself an A/C break, plan
- 1:14:32your next steps, and then you know when it's over, you can
- 1:14:35head back out. A couple other things that I
- 1:14:38will mention. Oh, I didn't mention the there
- 1:14:40is one attraction that is non Genie Plus for Epcot and that is
- 1:14:44the three cabbie arrows. Does not have a Genie Plus
- 1:14:46option. Doesn't need typically.
- 1:14:48Right, typically not a long wait.
- 1:14:50Occasionally it'll get up to be like 30 minutes only.
- 1:14:54Like really busy days. Like, yeah, really.
- 1:14:56Yeah, like. You're looking you're looking
- 1:14:58for 10 or less when it comes to 3 cabbie arrows, and most of
- 1:15:01your times going back and forth in that queue is.
- 1:15:04When they open up the whole thing and you're like, like, I
- 1:15:07know just just keep the bot the middle.
- 1:15:09If they take the middle ropes off that, it doesn't take nearly
- 1:15:12as long. But if they keep them all, like
- 1:15:13together, then you're like back and forth.
- 1:15:15It was so much worse when they had the plexiglass up during the
- 1:15:19piny knee. Terrible.
- 1:15:21I got so glaustrophobic. I was like, I don't want to go
- 1:15:24on this ride. It's not white.
- 1:15:25I love that ride. There are tons of characters at
- 1:15:28Epcot to. Just to name a few.
- 1:15:31I mean you can do on an Elsa, Alice, Aurora Bell, Daisy and
- 1:15:34Donald, Goofy, Joy, Mary Poppins, Mickey and Minnie,
- 1:15:37Mulan, Jasmine, Snow White, Penelope, Pooh Bear.
- 1:15:40There's all sorts of characters. None of them utilize Jeanie Plus
- 1:15:43so. Again, keep that in mind time
- 1:15:46and accordingly if there's characters that you really,
- 1:15:48really want to see. The other thing I will mention
- 1:15:50that's not on the app is the walkway between the entrance at
- 1:15:54International Gateway and then you get like up the hill to the
- 1:15:57walkway where you decide if you want to go towards the UK or
- 1:15:59France. They have been doing character
- 1:16:03trainings there, so you will see a lot.
- 1:16:05Yep, you will see a lot of characters there that they're
- 1:16:08doing character training with. The other place is.
- 1:16:12Next to Regal Eagle, there's like this little alleyway that
- 1:16:18you can find characters that are in training there and sometimes
- 1:16:21you can see really rare characters in those two
- 1:16:23locations. So if you're a character person,
- 1:16:26I would definitely scope those out.
- 1:16:29I don't know timing wise if it's been morning, afternoon, you
- 1:16:33know, I I'm not sure on that, but I know that there have been
- 1:16:36characters and some very unusual rare characters that have been
- 1:16:40showing up there too. I'm trying to remember when I
- 1:16:43saw them. I feel like, you know, in
- 1:16:46typically they will just start bringing out more characters
- 1:16:49when the park gets busier. So yeah, you don't usually see
- 1:16:52them for the first, you know, two hours of the day because
- 1:16:54everybody's just rushing to get the first attraction.
- 1:16:56Nobody wants to stop and say hi to a character.
- 1:16:58So. But as soon as the park starts
- 1:16:59staying crowded, they need to disperse the crowds a little bit
- 1:17:02more. So you know, that's usually when
- 1:17:04you start maybe start seeing them show up a little bit more
- 1:17:08and pop out from different places, so.
- 1:17:10Yeah, exactly. So again, if you're a character
- 1:17:13person, keep that in mind. A couple other things just to
- 1:17:15mention of things to do in Epcot, because honestly, if
- 1:17:19you're using Genie Plus, you're going to be able to get through
- 1:17:21your rides throughout the day. If you're not shows or a ton of
- 1:17:28taking a break, you're going to be there all day.
- 1:17:29You know, there's lots of variables, but chances are
- 1:17:32really good you're going to be able to get through all the
- 1:17:34attractions that you want to get through.
- 1:17:36So other things that they have to offer there, they have the
- 1:17:39Duck Tales World Showcase adventure game, which is on the
- 1:17:41Play Disney app, which is a super fun way to experience
- 1:17:45World Showcase. There are the Aquariums in the
- 1:17:49Seas building. After you exit the Finding Nemo
- 1:17:51ride, take a little bit of time look around there.
- 1:17:53They've got manatees and dolphins and sharks and all
- 1:17:55sorts of fun things there. They've also got a play place in
- 1:17:59that area as well. Play place inside of the test
- 1:18:02track test track exit. There's a playground outside of
- 1:18:06creations. As you're headed towards cosmic
- 1:18:09rewinds, there's a playground right there that's typically
- 1:18:11themed for the festivals, yes? And I also mentioned, since
- 1:18:17we're back at Creations mentally, May said that
- 1:18:21Connections, this is next door has also has charging stations,
- 1:18:24so if you need to sit down and charge any of your devices,
- 1:18:27that's a good one. So sorry, since we just mentally
- 1:18:29stopped there I was like. Wait.
- 1:18:31But wait, there's more. So yeah, so there's that
- 1:18:33playground there there's the image works at the exit of exit
- 1:18:37of Figment. I'm struggling through this list
- 1:18:39right now. And then also all the kid cot
- 1:18:41stops across World Showcase. A lot of this we've talked about
- 1:18:44previously on previous episodes, but there's just a lot of other
- 1:18:48things to do that are not attraction focused that you can
- 1:18:52either fit in between your lightning lanes depending on
- 1:18:54where you are in the parks. Or you can just add on to the
- 1:18:57end of your day. Or if you've got a big gap and
- 1:19:00you're not worried about, you know if you've got a lightning
- 1:19:02lane that's two hours from now and you want something to do in
- 1:19:05the meantime and you're planning to go into World Showcase.
- 1:19:08It just really depends on how your day pans out as to whether
- 1:19:11or not these things are options for you, yeah.
- 1:19:14And then I will also say don't forget to check out any of the
- 1:19:16festival offerings we've talked about.
- 1:19:19You know, scavenger hunts and events and food booths.
- 1:19:23And you know, we've talked about all those festivals kind of
- 1:19:25extensively. Yes, So I'm going to give Jackie
- 1:19:29a quick break so she can breathe and get some water.
- 1:19:31Well, I'll say dinner or dinner recommendations are the same
- 1:19:35ones as above. So as we had already said.
- 1:19:37So they're going to be ones that are like Sunshine seasons and
- 1:19:42the Connections Cafe are really good indoor ones if you want
- 1:19:46A/C. Otherwise, the food festival
- 1:19:47booths. We always recommend those if
- 1:19:49you're not in a diet Epcot or if you've made, you know, dining
- 1:19:53reservations somewhere. There's some really wonderful
- 1:19:55restaurants that do need dining reservations but are usually
- 1:20:01fairly easy to get, especially if it's festival time.
- 1:20:03So sometimes you can even get them day of depending on don't
- 1:20:07depend on that but you know sometimes you can.
- 1:20:11So so then after dinner you're going to hit.
- 1:20:15Left overrides right, So anything you weren't able to get
- 1:20:18into earlier, do you want to elaborate on that part of it?
- 1:20:24Yeah, so sometimes with Epcot you will find those gaps in your
- 1:20:27time, so you may have left overrides that just didn't fit
- 1:20:31timing wise with your other plans.
- 1:20:34That you may need to hit or again using Genie Plus for
- 1:20:37anything that you did stand by to do a second ride.
- 1:20:40So let's say your your family loves Soren or you love Figment
- 1:20:44or any of those and you did stand by earlier in the day.
- 1:20:47Again, go back and book a second ride on those because you're
- 1:20:49going to be able to then utilize your Genie.
- 1:20:51Plus, they'll still have times available, the only ones that
- 1:20:54typically sell out. Frozen and Remy almost always
- 1:20:58sell out every day, but other than that test Track will on
- 1:21:01really busy days. But even then, that one doesn't
- 1:21:05always. So again, if you rope dropped
- 1:21:08did stand by on anything, you can go back and do that.
- 1:21:11The one weird not weird. The one unique thing about Epcot
- 1:21:16is that the park closes at the same time as the nighttime show.
- 1:21:21So make sure you're in line for whatever that last ride is by
- 1:21:258:59, because I've caught 99.9% of the time.
- 1:21:29Closes at 9 and that's when their fireworks show is,
- 1:21:31Whatever that show may be. I'm always in the ice cream and
- 1:21:34that's what I do. I've seen that show a million
- 1:21:38times. I'm like, I'm heading for the
- 1:21:39ice cream line. That's my end of night strategy.
- 1:21:43So keep that in mind as you're planning your evening and Joel
- 1:21:47asked a really good question. Can you do the main rides at
- 1:21:49Epcot and enjoy drinking and eating around the world?
- 1:21:51Absolutely you can, yeah. If you've just got, you know,
- 1:21:54even half of the rides in Epcot, you could probably get those
- 1:21:57done before 1:00 or 2:00 PM and have the rest of your day to
- 1:22:01enjoy World Showcase. Especially with with Jamie Plus.
- 1:22:04Yeah, without Genie Plus. With Genie Plus, for sure.
- 1:22:07Yeah, you're going to have a harder time getting to all of
- 1:22:09the big rides because still, you'll have to wait longer for
- 1:22:13them. But yeah, with Genie Plus for
- 1:22:15sure you can knock it out by early afternoon, be done with
- 1:22:19pretty much all the major rides. Yeah.
- 1:22:21And again, just really have a plan going into your day that's
- 1:22:24we're just always going to stress that no matter what it is
- 1:22:26that we're talking about, I feel like.
- 1:22:27But that way you're not guessing and you're not having to spend
- 1:22:31the time looking up weights every time or looking up return
- 1:22:33times every time. You just know exactly what
- 1:22:35you're going to book and can go one to the next, to the next, to
- 1:22:38the next and be fine. I mean my family, when we do
- 1:22:41Epcot we almost always get every attraction and and have at least
- 1:22:44two to three hours in World Showcase, usually with an
- 1:22:47afternoon break. I'm very good at Genie Plus
- 1:22:49though. That being said, so I don't
- 1:22:52typically have issues getting Genie Plus to work for me.
- 1:22:56Yeah, so that is something to consider, but you should have no
- 1:23:00problem with that for sure. And I feel like Epcot, unless
- 1:23:05you're gonna take extensive time with the festival and you want
- 1:23:08to do every single thing there is to do, and I've caught it
- 1:23:10cuts pretty much a one day part. You know, maybe someday if they
- 1:23:14open more things and takedown all the walls and there's more
- 1:23:17to see, it might take a little longer.
- 1:23:19But I think it's a it's a pretty easy park to knock out in a day.
- 1:23:23You're not going to need to unless you just really want to
- 1:23:25go at a relaxed pace and see everything you know.
- 1:23:28Yeah, I was gonna say, unless you're someone who wants to do
- 1:23:30all of the shows and see all of the street performers and meet
- 1:23:33all the characters, then you're definitely gonna need 2 days.
- 1:23:35And I will say that Epcot has some really great characters.
- 1:23:38Someone was asking about Alice earlier.
- 1:23:40Alice, I believe only meets at Epcot.
- 1:23:42I don't think Alice has a meet at Magic Disneyland.
- 1:23:46What I've seen so walks by fantasy land waves to me every
- 1:23:50single time I'm there. She's like.
- 1:23:52Yeah. So that would be what I would
- 1:23:53say as far as that goes. I did have a question before we
- 1:23:56hop to the Without Genie Plus just asked, is there a specific
- 1:23:59place I'm wanting to eat that I have to order online.
- 1:24:02So there is nowhere in that you have to order online or mobile
- 1:24:08order. There are places that accept it,
- 1:24:10and I do recommend that you do that because that will save you
- 1:24:14a lot of time waiting in line, but there is nowhere that you.
- 1:24:17That you aren't able to just walk up and order at a window or
- 1:24:20wait line and order at a window. There's a couple places that you
- 1:24:24can't mobile order and you have to wait in line to get stuff too
- 1:24:27because there's a lot of like third party restaurants within
- 1:24:31there. So just keep that in mind that
- 1:24:33just because it doesn't show up on your mobile order list
- 1:24:35doesn't mean that there's not this option available.
- 1:24:37So especially around World Showcase, like the crepes in
- 1:24:40France are a good example of that.
- 1:24:42I feel like the pizza in Italy might also be on that list.
- 1:24:46I think you're free for sure, and there's a lot, lot of them
- 1:24:50around the World Showcase. Yeah, and like all the festival
- 1:24:52booths are not going to give you a mobile order option.
- 1:24:54So there's I wouldn't rely on that mobile order list.
- 1:24:58I would rely more on the general map on your My Disney experience
- 1:25:02and pulling up the food list from there just asked where
- 1:25:06would Alice be in Epcot? Alice meets right by the Garden
- 1:25:10area in the UK. Pavilion.
- 1:25:12Yeah, where they? Rotates with Mary Poppins there.
- 1:25:16Yeah, like I think during the Garden Festival, they've got the
- 1:25:19Flower Garden Festival. It's right in the entrance to
- 1:25:21like the tea garden area, kind of off to the side.
- 1:25:25So she's not blocking the path, but.
- 1:25:26Yeah, there's a little like garden Hut building right there
- 1:25:31that they like stand. I don't know what else to call
- 1:25:33it, but there's. A little building right there
- 1:25:38across from that space that they kind of stand in front of to
- 1:25:42meet typically and sometimes they will stand in the like
- 1:25:44little. Archway.
- 1:25:46The arch. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:25:48Little maze area. But that space is where, like I
- 1:25:51said, Alice and Mary Poppins, I know for sure rotate through
- 1:25:54that space. So if you're looking for Alice,
- 1:25:56that's where you'll find her. So let's talk about without
- 1:25:58Genie Plus for Epcot again. It looks very similar in a lot
- 1:26:03of ways. You're going to want to arrive
- 1:26:0530 to 40 minutes before park open.
- 1:26:07You're still going to have those two options for your rope drop.
- 1:26:10So again, you can also still book the 7:00 AM virtual queue
- 1:26:13for Cosmic Rewind if that's something that you want to do.
- 1:26:16If you enter at the front of the park, go to Frozen first.
- 1:26:19If you enter an international gateway, you're going to want to
- 1:26:21go to Remy first. The only thing that I would say
- 1:26:23is if for some reason. Like if you're at the front of
- 1:26:27the park and Frozen is not on your list, but Remy's on your
- 1:26:29list, then go rope drop Remy. You know, you got to kind of use
- 1:26:33use your senses when it comes to that because there are some
- 1:26:37people that are just like, I don't need to ride Frozen, but I
- 1:26:39really love Remy. But if you're at the front of
- 1:26:41the park, just rope drop it. Understand that you're probably
- 1:26:43have a little bit of a longer wait if you're coming from the
- 1:26:46opposite location just because of the general flow of where the
- 1:26:49crowds go. But.
- 1:26:51Again, that would be The only exception to that.
- 1:26:54And I will mention also being able to ride both Frozen and
- 1:26:57Remy without a long wait can be difficult on busy park days.
- 1:27:01You can still do it. It's completely doable.
- 1:27:04You're still going to be able to get through the majority of the
- 1:27:06day. Even if you do spend an extra
- 1:27:08hour in the morning doing that. They're both on your list.
- 1:27:11We're going to be able to do them both.
- 1:27:12That second ride you may have to wait 45 minutes to an hour to to
- 1:27:17do. That's the typical morning wait
- 1:27:19time. Lower crowds.
- 1:27:21You're going to get lower wait times, you know all that.
- 1:27:24But the earlier you arrive and the quicker you can get your
- 1:27:26first ride done, the better chance you have it, making it to
- 1:27:29the second line without having as long of a wait.
- 1:27:32But again, you're still going to probably wait.
- 1:27:35So I'm going to kind of run through like the entire list of
- 1:27:38attractions and I'm not really putting in here like stop here
- 1:27:41for lunch, stop here for dinner, because it's very, very
- 1:27:45dependent on what the crowds are doing, what the wait times look
- 1:27:47like and what's on your particular list.
- 1:27:51So the order that I would do the rides is frozen, Remy, what we
- 1:27:56just talked about that whole thing depending and then test
- 1:28:00track. Keep in mind Test track does
- 1:28:01have a single rider line and it is a very good single rider
- 1:28:05line. So if you are solo or you're the
- 1:28:07only one in your group that wants to ride it, do the single
- 1:28:09rider line because it is a very good single rider line.
- 1:28:13So keep that in mind and then from there I would do.
- 1:28:17Even either Mission Space or Soren, after you get off test
- 1:28:20track, you're closer to Mission Space.
- 1:28:22So again, Epcot is really easy to crisscross and go back and
- 1:28:26forth if you're not focused on that, so plan accordingly.
- 1:28:30If Mission Space is not on your list, then head over to Soren.
- 1:28:33Vice versa, Spaceship Earth. Keep an eye on because this line
- 1:28:38will get unnecessarily long. Because it is just the front.
- 1:28:42It's at the front of the park and everyone walks in the Epcot
- 1:28:45and goes, look, spaceship, let's go ride it.
- 1:28:49Don't. Just don't do it.
- 1:28:52If it was like in the corner of the park, like that would never
- 1:28:54happen. Exactly, exactly.
- 1:28:56So just keep an eye on that one, because once you're in the park,
- 1:29:01in the park, it's kind of out of the way to come back out of the
- 1:29:05park to go to Spaceship Earth. So just.
- 1:29:07Keep an eye on the wait time and do it where it makes sense.
- 1:29:09So keep that in mind as well when you're looking at that.
- 1:29:12The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Turtle Talk would be kind of
- 1:29:16after that. And then from there Figment
- 1:29:19Living with the Land and then three cabaleros.
- 1:29:22And if you want to put in the Disney Pixar Short Film Festival
- 1:29:25or character meet and greets and shows, just kind of put them on
- 1:29:27at the end. My guess would be in a fairly
- 1:29:33busy crowd. But because chances are you're
- 1:29:37not gonna do every single item on that list.
- 1:29:39Most of that can get done before dinner, even without using Genie
- 1:29:43Plus. Yeah, so keep that in mind.
- 1:29:47The other thing that I didn't really mention that I just want
- 1:29:49to briefly mention is if you are utilizing.
- 1:29:52Early park entry and that extra half hour, your morning is going
- 1:29:57to be a lot more smooth because you're going to be in the parks
- 1:29:59before those crowds get too busy.
- 1:30:01So if you're someone who does want to do Remy and Frozen and
- 1:30:04you are staying on property, you got to get there for that half
- 1:30:08hour before to make sure that you can get to both.
- 1:30:10That will up your chances of being able to get to both and
- 1:30:12not having to wait 45 minutes to an hour for the second one.
- 1:30:16Yeah, no, 100% agree and then in.
- 1:30:19Food options again, same as before.
- 1:30:23And same as kind of in the evening hit.
- 1:30:24Anything that you weren't able to, And just keep in mind that
- 1:30:27park closes right at fireworks. Yep, all the all the things.
- 1:30:32I think that's it. I think that's it.
- 1:30:34I think we made it through and I think again Epcot is is a lot
- 1:30:38easier to manage than Magic Kingdom just by the way that
- 1:30:43it's created. Because you got to think about
- 1:30:45Epcot is really kind of like 2 parks in one.
- 1:30:47It's all of the attractions and everything and then it's World
- 1:30:49Showcase and World Showcase is such a great.
- 1:30:52Attraction within itself, to utilize and to visit and to
- 1:30:56experience that. Like it's totally worth it to
- 1:30:59have that non ride time there, eat it through.
- 1:31:03OK, we did and we didn't. We did a whole episode that
- 1:31:07we're going to post on our podcast very soon and on our
- 1:31:11YouTube. That is all about Disneyland
- 1:31:13Resorts strategy. So if anybody who's asked about
