- 0:00OK, so we're going to get into some pretty heavy stuff this
- 0:03time up and I know you love it. I do too.
- 0:05After all, we are talking about the 5th epical Revelation, the
- 0:09Urantia book. And lately we've been focusing
- 0:12on the dynamics between the Urantia book teachings and
- 0:16Christianity. And, and we're going to get to
- 0:18some interesting, I think, articles that you'll enjoy,
- 0:22including one from a a reader who submitted some information
- 0:25in the last podcast on direct references that were made during
- 0:30one of Jesus's teachings. And I thought that was very
- 0:33interesting. So we're going to get into a
- 0:35little bit of that. I also want to center in on the
- 0:38ancients of days is it's very integral to the whole panorama
- 0:45of God's creation, the cosmological universe.
- 0:48So we'll get into who the Ancient of Days were and how it
- 0:53again illustrates the the partnership, which I think there
- 0:57is a strong partnership between the Urantia book and
- 1:01Christianity. So we'll get to that in just a
- 1:04second. A reminder for you to join me on
- 1:07my website, which is a constantly evolving website that
- 1:12has all kinds of cool things. If you like the program, you
- 1:15want to go back in time, listen to some earlier interviews with
- 1:19influencers within the Urantia community, I encourage you to
- 1:23check out the website itsurantiaradio.org.
- 1:26That's Urantia radio.org. I'll
- 1:40I'll tell you a short story and then we'll get into the bulk of
- 1:44what we want to talk about. But everybody is familiar with
- 1:48the Star of Bethlehem. That's the star that led the
- 1:51Magi, the three kings that came from far off lands to witness
- 1:57and give honor to the baby Jesus at the Manger in Bethlehem.
- 2:01We all know that story. But there's a much greater level
- 2:06to that story, which I want to bring to your attention as a way
- 2:10of illustrating how the dynamic between the Urantia Book and the
- 2:16Christianity is very existent. And the reason I say this is
- 2:23because one of the early experiences I had in recognizing
- 2:27the dynamic between the Urantia Book, the relationship between
- 2:30the Urantia Book and the Bible, is that it seeks to explain,
- 2:35explain things that are in the Bible that may not have been
- 2:39comprehensible at the time that the Bible was written.
- 2:43Certainly that is the case when it comes to the star of
- 2:45Bethlehem because I come to discover in the Urantia book
- 2:50that it talks about 3 specific dates in the year that Jesus was
- 2:54born. And on those three specific
- 2:57dates there was a conjunction between Jupiter and I want to
- 3:01say Mars or or another of the other planets.
- 3:05Perhaps it was Mars. But anyway, there was a
- 3:07conjunction that's specified in the Life and teachings of Jesus
- 3:11where it talks about the legend of the star.
- 3:15And in that it discloses that on three specific dates that are
- 3:19listed in the Urantia book, they give credence to the fact that
- 3:22there was a a conjunction, a bright star in the evening sky
- 3:26during that period. And this got woven into the
- 3:30story of the birth of Jesus. Now you could contest that
- 3:36statement that the Urantia book is positing that states this is
- 3:41how we explain the the star. It didn't lead anybody, didn't
- 3:47attract the attention of the magi.
- 3:49It didn't guide them to the birth.
- 3:51How would it do that? But what is the significance of
- 3:55it? Well, the significance is that
- 3:56it captured that event, the birth of Christ, as having
- 4:00occurred during that period because the people that were on
- 4:04earth at the time would have been a witness to both.
- 4:06They would have seen this conjunction and maybe they tied
- 4:09it to the later recognition that Jesus was a divine son.
- 4:15So with that, that gave to me an early experience of saying,
- 4:21well, that's interesting because I, I grew up with this story and
- 4:25this story from the Urantia book clarifies that story and it may,
- 4:30it actually validates the story in the Bible.
- 4:35And there's a lot of that. And that's one of the reasons
- 4:38we're talking about this now. I, it, it skipped my mind that I
- 4:45do have the Parimony, which was written by Dwayne Faugh.
- 4:49And in the Parimony, which was done back in the 70s, I believe
- 4:53Dwayne actually methodically went through the Bible and
- 4:57correlated all the quotes that were in the Urantia book and
- 5:00specifies where those quotations are in the Bible.
- 5:05And I'll give you a good example of that.
- 5:06So I got this from Carol. Thank you Carol for sending it.
- 5:10And she writes, when the authors of the Urantia book use quotes
- 5:14from the Bible, it appears they use the King James Version.
- 5:18For example, the Urantia book in paper 34 it says quote for the
- 5:23fruits of the Spirit are Lovejoy, peace, long-suffering,
- 5:27gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.
- 5:32But in the Bible, where is that quote from?
- 5:34It just appears in the Urantia book but they don't give
- 5:36reference to where the quote came from.
- 5:40Well it came from Galatians 522 in the King James, King James
- 5:44version where it says quote but the fruit of the spirit is
- 5:48Lovejoy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
- 5:52meekness, temperance. From paper 48 In the Urantia
- 5:59book, it talks about Paul, and it says Paul learned of the
- 6:05existence of the Morantia worlds and of the reality of the
- 6:11marrage of materials. For he wrote they have in heaven
- 6:14a better and more enduring substance.
- 6:18And End Quote. And these marrage of materials
- 6:21are real, literal even as the city which has its foundations,
- 6:26whose builder and maker is God. And each of these marvelous
- 6:31fears is quote, a better country, that is a heavenly one.
- 6:36Now where do those quotes come from?
- 6:39Well, it turns out that again in the King James Version from
- 6:43Hebrews 1034 quote For ye had compassion of me and my bonds,
- 6:49and look joyfully this spoiling of your goods, knowing in
- 6:53yourself that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring
- 6:57substance. From Hebrews 11 But now they
- 7:02desire a better country, that is an heavenly, wherefore God is
- 7:07not ashamed to be called their God, for he hath prepared for
- 7:11them a city kind of similar to they have and better in heaven,
- 7:18a better and more enduring substance, which is how the
- 7:22Urantia book quotes Paul and whose foundation, whose builder
- 7:28and maker is God. So there's correlation between
- 7:32the quotations, not exact, but actually more clarified in
- 7:39Hebrews 11/10. For he looked for a city which
- 7:42hath foundation, whose builder and maker is God.
- 7:46Again, that's going back to the quote from 4817 in the Urantia
- 7:50book. So it's an expansion on Carol's
- 7:56point that the Urantia book has a relationship with the New
- 8:01Testament in particular because it contains more of Jesus's
- 8:05teachings than any other document.
- 8:09And it also has a relationship with the Old Testament because
- 8:14many of those stories go all the way back to the days of
- 8:18Dalmatia. In particular, the story of
- 8:21Genesis, Melchizedek, the covenant that Abraham made is,
- 8:27is clarified in the Bible. It substantiates the roots of
- 8:32the Hebrew faith and how it evolved and when Christ came,
- 8:39his followers who were all, by the way, faithful believers in
- 8:44the laws of Moses and the Hebrew faith in, in, in paper 155 and
- 8:50in the discourses on religion. Jesus says, look, don't you know
- 8:54there's two things You know, you don't have to go back to the
- 8:59past to experience God. You can do it into yourself.
- 9:03The Kingdom of heaven is within you.
- 9:06But up to that point, that was not what the Hebrew faith
- 9:10taught. The the Hebrew faith taught
- 9:12obedience to the law and the Hebrew faith was had very strict
- 9:20rules of conduct, of eating, of diet, of of, of ritual that you
- 9:26had to perform to show your faith in God.
- 9:32But even in the story of Melchizedek, which I found to be
- 9:36very interesting, when they talk about Melchizedek choosing
- 9:41Abraham as a potential leader of the great truth of monotheism,
- 9:47that he knew about Abraham's lineage, he knew that Abraham
- 9:52was Sumerian, which is important because what's a Sumerian?
- 9:57Sumerian. Well, the Sumerians were
- 10:01particularly known for their dark hair and rich blue eyes,
- 10:06and they were themselves ancestors, the Sumerian Semites.
- 10:12It's a small pocket of this one group that had settled and built
- 10:17a sort of a civilization down near where the Persian Gulf is
- 10:20today. And they were the remnants of
- 10:24the second garden, which were the Adamites and the earlier
- 10:28tribe of the Nodites. And of course, the Nodites, the
- 10:31land of Nod. Their ancestry traces them all
- 10:35the way back to the Dalamisha days, Dilmun Dilmud of the days
- 10:41of the Tower of Babel, which was a building that was going to be
- 10:47constructed to show from the Nodites their love and reverence
- 10:51for for God. So again, the Urantia book gives
- 10:56more substance to the stories that are real in the in in the
- 11:01Bible that are based on fact and it goes through all of the
- 11:06prophets and their influence and how they carried the truth of
- 11:11monotheism forward. So again, I I say all of this
- 11:17because I believe that, you know, Byron Blezes made a point
- 11:23in his recent and by the way, his last substack is that the
- 11:29Urantia movement is a movement of a body, but it doesn't have a
- 11:33head. And I take, I interpret that and
- 11:38maybe you disagree with me, but what I interpret that is both
- 11:42positive and negative positive is that we are not apparently
- 11:47developing into a cult where we have cultist leaders and cult of
- 11:50personality and all that nonsense.
- 11:53So far there hasn't been, well, there have been a couple of
- 11:56exceptions, but they're they were very transient.
- 12:00But by and large, the movement of the Arantia book I was just
- 12:03reading today about the Christ Michael Center and then some of
- 12:08the marvelous works they're doing overseas.
- 12:11And that's what I think this movement is really all about.
- 12:15We're going to have to bake ourself into and have a positive
- 12:20influence, perhaps an uplifting influence on the current
- 12:26religions of Christ, however transformative that might be.
- 12:31I know from second hand conversations is that there are
- 12:35people within the Mormon movement who really like the
- 12:38Urantia book and they've made attempts to introduce it, but so
- 12:42far nothing significant. I also know that there are a lot
- 12:47of Christian groups that do like the Urantia book and they read
- 12:50them, but they don't share it with members of their church
- 12:53because, well, because of that whole dynamic between Holy Holy
- 12:59Scripture and this new revelation, the, the mainline
- 13:03church, the leaders within the church, the the priests, the
- 13:07ministers, they're not ready for the Urantia book.
- 13:11They're just not ready and neither are a multitude of their
- 13:15constituents. They're very comfortable.
- 13:16That's the whole point of Jesus discourse is that many people
- 13:21are comfortable with an intellectual approach to God.
- 13:26They like the pageantry, they like the ritual.
- 13:29It's comfortable. We are a tradition bound
- 13:32species. Even Jesus recognized that in
- 13:36Paper 156 where they talk about how people are used to their
- 13:40faith being practiced a certain way and they're not going to
- 13:43easily let go of it. But for the for the person who
- 13:48will follow the truth wherever that truth may lead, the Urantia
- 13:52book opens up a whole bunch of new doors.
- 13:55So I'll spend a little bit of time on the ancients of days
- 13:58because I think it's important to what I'm trying to suggest
- 14:01here, the Urantia movement, a body without a head.
- 14:06I think we need that. Christianity is going to have to
- 14:10at some point make a decision. I hope the decision is the right
- 14:151. And I hope in future
- 14:16generations, perhaps in the next 50 years, some of these leaders
- 14:20that lead the Christian Church and the different factions of
- 14:24the Christian Church will start to hear from members of their
- 14:29flock about this book. And let me give you a good
- 14:33example. In the Bible, the ages of days
- 14:35are mentioned by Daniel several times.
- 14:39In one statement, the ancients of days are identified as like
- 14:42the Son of Man in Christian, the ideology, it is believed to
- 14:46represent God in paradise and also in revelation.
- 14:51Both Christ, the Son of man and the ancients of days are said to
- 14:55give authority to the Son of Man.
- 14:58So the interpretation from most biblical scholars is that the
- 15:02Ancient of Days is in fact another name for God.
- 15:06Why Daniel decided those words we don't know, but we do know in
- 15:11Aramaic Ancient of Days actually doesn't say ancient of days.
- 15:16It means one who is above time or an original 1.
- 15:22And I think that's the interpretation Daniel was, was
- 15:25that whoever he was seeing in his in spiritual encounter
- 15:30appeared as someone who had been around for a while.
- 15:35In the Urantia book, we're told that the ancients of days
- 15:37represent the authority or the law of the Trinity.
- 15:41They act as the judicial branch of the Super spiritual
- 15:45government of God. You know, there's the law which
- 15:49pertains to physical law, natural law, and then there's
- 15:55mercy and there's justice. Those are the three tenets of
- 15:58the Trinity, the law, mercy, and justice.
- 16:03We all have to follow basic fundamental truths, conduct
- 16:08rules of play. The Golden Rule is based on this
- 16:12law of fairness and the Ancient of Days represents the judicial
- 16:18expression of that law. They can decree alone who who
- 16:24makes it and who doesn't. They have the actual power.
- 16:28Let me read a little bit from Daniel and there was given him
- 16:32referring to Ancient of Days, dominion and glory and a Kingdom
- 16:37until the Ancient of Days come and judgement was given to the
- 16:42Saints of the Most High again. So the authority of the Ancient
- 16:47of Days that they can pass judgement from Revelation 17, it
- 16:51says, Behold, he cometh with clouds, Revelation 14141 like
- 16:56unto the Son of Man upon a cloud, referencing that the Son
- 17:00of Man is of equal status or at least a high enough status to
- 17:06receive authority from the Ancient of Days.
- 17:11And all of this serves to recognize that the Urantia book
- 17:13clarifies the Bible's great stories, the history of the
- 17:18prophets. As I mentioned before, even the
- 17:20three circles on the Urantia book is the logo of one of these
- 17:25divine sons, the faithful of days.
- 17:29And, and it's says that on page one of the Urantia book that the
- 17:35Ancient of Days are the ones who commissioned the Urantia book.
- 17:41Right there on the first page from Daniel 79 to 710.
- 17:46Behold, till the Thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of
- 17:50Days did sit. Whose garment was white as snow,
- 17:53and the hair of the head like pure wool.
- 17:56His throne was like that of a fiery flame, and his wheels as
- 18:00burning fire. Next sentence, a fiery stream
- 18:05issued and came forth from before him.
- 18:08Thousands and thousands minister unto him, and 10,000 * 10,000
- 18:14stood before him. The judgement was set and the
- 18:17book was open. This all referencing the Ancient
- 18:20of Days. It's Ancient of days.
- 18:23Whoever this agency is, is extremely powerful, and again
- 18:29the Urantia Book says that they represent the authority of the
- 18:32Trinity. In the Urantia Book, Paper 18 it
- 18:37says in power, scope of authority and extent of
- 18:40jurisdiction, the ancients of days are the most powerful and
- 18:45mighty of any of the direct rulers of the time space
- 18:49creations in all the vast universe of universes.
- 18:52They alone are invested with the high powers of final executive
- 18:56judgment concerning the eternal extinction of will creatures.
- 19:03And all of this is to say that we live in a very active
- 19:06universe led by super intelligent and guided by
- 19:10spiritually motivated and profoundly wise spiritual
- 19:15leaders who are, of course, God's children.
- 19:23And it should also be noted that the ancients of Days are
- 19:28expected to issue a final executive judgement concerning
- 19:33Lucifer and the rebellion against Michael and the universe
- 19:37rulers. That's how power powerful this
- 19:40agency is of these three individuals who again represent
- 19:45the Paradise Trinity in law and scope of authority.
- 19:50So something to ponder. It takes a passage from Daniel
- 19:54and expands upon it just as we've illustrated.
- 19:57And it does this over and over and over.
- 20:01There are 10s of thousands of quotes that are given great
- 20:04clarification in the Urantia book.
- 20:07I would think that would be an exciting adventure for someone
- 20:11who was searching for God and why we are here and what's next.
- 20:16So we'll see you next time on the Urantia Radio Podcast.
- 20:19If you like the episode, leave a comment.
- 20:22I always encourage folks to leave a comment.
- 20:25It looks good for my algorithms. I'll see you next time.
