- 0:56Speaker 2: Welcome back from Times Square. It's at Kevin Show, that
- 0:59Speaker 2: kevinshow dot Com. I'm so glad to have you with us.
- 1:01Speaker 2: You've been hearing me in recent days say thank you
- 1:04Speaker 2: a lot. A bunch of you have jumped in and
- 1:08Speaker 2: you've said, you know what, keV, I'm not going to
- 1:10Speaker 2: let those seven hundred and twenty children that you started
- 1:13Speaker 2: telling us about a couple of weeks ago. We're not
- 1:15Speaker 2: going to let them starve for twenty twenty six and
- 1:18Speaker 2: we're going to make sure that they have plenty of
- 1:19Speaker 2: clean drinking water. Rejoining me from the International World Headquarters
- 1:24Speaker 2: of Food for the Poor is Paul Jacob's longtime friend
- 1:27Speaker 2: of us and working with us at Food for the Poor,
- 1:30Speaker 2: someone I've traveled with somewhat extensively with Food for the
- 1:33Speaker 2: Poor and just appreciate his heart on all this.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Paul. We started out with seven hundred and twenty kids.
- 1:38Speaker 2: We have had four hundred and forty three of those
- 1:41Speaker 2: children spoken for, and I want to say, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 2: that's four hundred and forty three kids that if they
- 1:48Speaker 2: didn't receive those two meals each day and the clean
- 1:51Speaker 2: drinking water, what tell us what would likely happen to
- 1:53Speaker 2: those four hundred and forty three children.
- 1:55Speaker 4: There are entire communities and places like Onduras and Guatemala
- 1:58Speaker 4: where we've traveled together. Haiti a great place that we
- 2:02Speaker 4: have been and seen the work of Food for the
- 2:04Speaker 4: Poors ministry partners on the ground and your efforts helping
- 2:08Speaker 4: us feed and give clean water and those children in
- 2:11Speaker 4: those communities whether it's a school feeding center, it's a
- 2:13Speaker 4: nutritional center, it's an entire community of children going days
- 2:18Speaker 4: without water. And I don't mean that as hyperbole. This
- 2:21Speaker 4: is happening right now in our sphere, excuse me, our
- 2:25Speaker 4: inner hemisphere, and right now on the ground in the
- 2:28Speaker 4: countries where Food for the Poor serves that there are
- 2:30Speaker 4: children routinely going days without eating. There's children that are
- 2:33Speaker 4: drinking water from water sources that are making them sick
- 2:37Speaker 4: with every sip. When I was in Honduras, I asked
- 2:39Speaker 4: the mayor of this small community, as the ministry partner
- 2:42Speaker 4: took us around to show us where the families live
- 2:45Speaker 4: and how they're living, and I asked them, I said,
- 2:47Speaker 4: where are these samely getting the water from. I was
- 2:49Speaker 4: kind of curious, because you know, you see that there's
- 2:52Speaker 4: buckets of this water, but you realize they've got to
- 2:56Speaker 4: get it from somewhere. He took us on a drive
- 3:00Speaker 4: about twenty minutes down in a vehicle, twenty minutes in
- 3:03Speaker 4: a vehicle, down the hill, down the mountain, and to
- 3:06Speaker 4: a wooded area. Quite frankly, where this water was coming from.
- 3:09Speaker 4: It was filthy, it was not poltable. You had everything
- 3:13Speaker 4: running through that water, and this is what children are
- 3:16Speaker 4: reduced to if someone does not step into their lives.
- 3:19Speaker 4: And I want to say a special thank you because
- 3:21Speaker 4: we've had some amazing gifts that have come in. Philip
- 3:23Speaker 4: from Whitesburg, Georgia, thank you one hundred dollars gift. We
- 3:27Speaker 4: had a gift, an anonymous gift from Louisville, Kentucky, Possibility City,
- 3:31Speaker 4: Thank you one hundred and fifty dollars. That those are
- 3:34Speaker 4: two children eating and having getting safe water every day.
- 3:38Speaker 2: For that is that is And I love Georgia, I
- 3:41Speaker 2: love Kentucky. I love people stepping up, especially those of
- 3:44Speaker 2: you that are new to what we're doing here. And
- 3:47Speaker 2: you may say, keV, I noticed that. You know, you
- 3:50Speaker 2: talk about these things. Not a lot of other people
- 3:52Speaker 2: talk about these things. But the reason we talk about
- 3:54Speaker 2: them is because I feel like if, especially if we
- 3:58Speaker 2: are believers in Jesus and I don't operate under the
- 4:02Speaker 2: assumption that everybody is that listens to me, but if
- 4:05Speaker 2: we wear that label, if we carry that moniker in us,
- 4:10Speaker 2: then we are commanded to care about children, especially orphans
- 4:14Speaker 2: that have no food to eat and no clean water
- 4:17Speaker 2: to drink. And so if someone is thirsty. If someone
- 4:19Speaker 2: is hungry, can we help them? And Paul, what I
- 4:22Speaker 2: love about the program with Food for the Poor is
- 4:25Speaker 2: that there's a lot of other feeding groups out there
- 4:28Speaker 2: that just you know, roll up in the white truck
- 4:30Speaker 2: and they drop off some food and then they're gone.
- 4:33Speaker 2: You guys are in these kids' lives already. You've been
- 4:36Speaker 2: there for forty five years. But there is a consistency
- 4:41Speaker 2: to two meals a day that we're talking about for
- 4:43Speaker 2: the children they're going to be put into the program.
- 4:45Speaker 2: So these four hundred and forty three kids would go
- 4:47Speaker 2: from having zero meals on their let's say meal plan
- 4:51Speaker 2: for twenty twenty six and now they have two meals
- 4:54Speaker 2: a day. That's seven hundred and what thirty meals in
- 4:58Speaker 2: twenty twenty six and beyond that are going to be
- 5:01Speaker 2: fed to them every day. For that one time gift
- 5:04Speaker 2: of seventy five dollars for the child, that is a
- 5:07Speaker 2: remarkable if you think about it, friends, you're talking about
- 5:11Speaker 2: tens of meals for every dollar that you're giving, and
- 5:15Speaker 2: that is something that's going to have a long lasting impact.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Two meals per day, The consistency that that will do
- 5:21Speaker 2: to the nutrition system of the child, he's going to
- 5:24Speaker 2: be able to fight off disease, she's going to be
- 5:26Speaker 2: able to be healthier, and that enables so many other
- 5:28Speaker 2: things for them, for their for.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Their life, holistic help.
- 5:33Speaker 4: That what you're providing right now, the food the water,
- 5:38Speaker 4: is that it is helping break the cycle of poverty. Yes,
- 5:41Speaker 4: you're providing food to fill children's bellies. Yes you're providing
- 5:45Speaker 4: safe water so that whatevery sip, they're not becoming sick
- 5:48Speaker 4: and needing aid and assistance.
- 5:49Speaker 3: But we're doing more than that here at Food for
- 5:52Speaker 3: the Poor.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Your gift is helping us, working hand in hand with
- 5:55Speaker 4: these pastors to break the cycle of poverty, to provide
- 5:58Speaker 4: them a hand up, not a hand out. We're looking
- 6:00Speaker 4: at well, what we've been doing for the last forty
- 6:02Speaker 4: four years, forty four years of Food for the pores existence,
- 6:05Speaker 4: working hand in hand with the local church, is making
- 6:07Speaker 4: sure that we provide paths out of poverty in order
- 6:11Speaker 4: to transform lives. And it starts with meals and it
- 6:15Speaker 4: starts with safe water.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 6:20Speaker 2: eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Thank you to those of you who have stepped up
- 6:25Speaker 2: to those four hundred and forty three kids that are
- 6:27Speaker 2: in need. Here's the challenge, friends, I'm just going to
- 6:29Speaker 2: be real, blunt level honest with you.
- 6:31Speaker 3: That's two hundred and sixty.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Seven kids that we haven't taken care of that are
- 6:34Speaker 2: on the list, and the anxiety within my own personhood
- 6:39Speaker 2: will continue to increase until that last child is across
- 6:43Speaker 2: that finish line.
- 6:44Speaker 3: And we can't do it without your help.
- 6:47Speaker 2: So seventy five dollars right now will take two, will
- 6:50Speaker 2: take one of those kids, and say for the next year,
- 6:52Speaker 2: two meals a day, all the clean drinking water you need,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and you're going to have a different quality of life completely.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Let me also add that, at this very moment and
- 7:02Speaker 2: for the next ten minutes, there's going to be someone
- 7:05Speaker 2: that comes alongside and says, Okay, if you'll spend seventy
- 7:08Speaker 2: five dollars to help a child, I'm going to match it.
- 7:10Speaker 2: If you spend one hundred and fifty dollars to help
- 7:12Speaker 2: two children get the food in the water that they need.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I'm going to match that.
- 7:16Speaker 2: If you do six hundred dollars and feed however many
- 7:19Speaker 2: children that feeds, we're going to match that.
- 7:21Speaker 3: So for the next ten minutes.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Every single food item water that we get into a
- 7:26Speaker 2: child's life, it's going to be matched drop for drop,
- 7:29Speaker 2: bite for bite. You're going to help that happen because
- 7:32Speaker 2: of right now. And we talk about this all the time,
- 7:34Speaker 2: but I really believe in it. It's a good thing
- 7:36Speaker 2: to do a good thing. It's a great thing to do,
- 7:39Speaker 2: a maximum good thing. And when somebody comes along and says,
- 7:41Speaker 2: I want to match your efforts just for doing it,
- 7:43Speaker 2: now act on it. Now do the maximum good and
- 7:47Speaker 2: make the maximum outcome for these kids. Because these kids
- 7:51Speaker 2: don't have anybody else pulling for them. There is no medicator,
- 7:54Speaker 2: Medicare program where these kids live. There are no safety
- 7:56Speaker 2: nets from the governments of where the children are being
- 8:00Speaker 2: helped by Food for the poor. You know who the
- 8:01Speaker 2: safety net is, the local pastor. You know who the
- 8:04Speaker 2: safety net is Food for the poor. Those are the
- 8:07Speaker 2: ones caring and loving on these kids and helping them
- 8:09Speaker 2: get the food they need. So please be as generous
- 8:13Speaker 2: as you can. Go to the phone eight five five
- 8:17Speaker 2: nine zero seven four six seven three eight five five
- 8:20Speaker 2: nine zero seven four six seven three eight five five
- 8:24Speaker 2: nine zero seven four six seven three Be as generous
- 8:26Speaker 2: as you can and for the next ten minutes, every
- 8:29Speaker 2: dollar you spend will be matched bite for bite, food
- 8:32Speaker 2: for food, water for water, and we just can't go
- 8:35Speaker 2: along without it. Now, last thing, Paul, before we take
- 8:38Speaker 2: our next break, there is this very important priority at
- 8:44Speaker 2: Food for the Poor. This is done in Jesus' name.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It's not just done in the name of being kind
- 8:49Speaker 2: to humanity or being you know, a benevolent person. This
- 8:54Speaker 2: is done because we care about these kids ultimate eternal realities.
- 8:58Speaker 2: And that's why the pastors, the Christian foundation that Food
- 9:01Speaker 2: for the Poor is that is built on, is so important.
- 9:04Speaker 3: That's exactly right.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Forty four years ago Ferdinand Food, our founder, started Food
- 9:09Speaker 4: for the Poor by providing food to a local church
- 9:11Speaker 4: in Kingston, Jamaica. And we have grown over these forty
- 9:13Speaker 4: four years, not because we're such a great organization, which
- 9:16Speaker 4: we are.
- 9:17Speaker 1: We do.
- 9:18Speaker 4: We strive for efficiency and effectiveness, but it's due to
- 9:21Speaker 4: the partnership with the local church, the Body of Christ,
- 9:23Speaker 4: the pastors who are in the communities. You've been there
- 9:26Speaker 4: with us, Kevin, You've seen it first land and the
- 9:28Speaker 4: pastors that will stay in those communities until lives are transformed.
- 9:32Speaker 4: So yes, you're feeding and giving safe water, which also
- 9:35Speaker 4: your resourcing pastors on the ground right now.
- 9:37Speaker 2: If you've not given give eight five five nine zero
- 9:40Speaker 2: seven four six seven three. If you've already given pray
- 9:43Speaker 2: eight foy five nine zero seven four six seven three,

- 10:00Speaker 5: Right now, children across Latin America and the Caribbean are
- 10:03Speaker 5: sitting and waiting, many of them starting the day hungry.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Without food, It's nearly impossible to focus, to learn, to dream.
- 10:10Speaker 5: That's why Food for the Poor and me Joepiscopo invite
- 10:14Speaker 5: you to provide a nutritious meal and safe water. It
- 10:17Speaker 5: fuels learning, keeps kids healthy, and ensures a brighter future.
- 10:21Speaker 5: And it's so easy for you to help right now
- 10:23Speaker 5: because of a generous match. For a limited time, one
- 10:26Speaker 5: hundred and fifty dollars feeds four children. For the next year,

- 10:33Speaker 5: give right now will be matched and provide for twice
- 10:36Speaker 5: as many kids. Your gift fills hungry bellies and supports

- 13:20Speaker 10: Cuba is showing huge signs of weakness, the fact they've
- 13:22Speaker 10: already sat down at the table with Trumps people, and
- 13:25Speaker 10: so they'll probably have to soften the wildly or else
- 13:28Speaker 10: you could see a regime change there. This has been
- 13:31Speaker 10: a big thing, and it feels like you've got some
- 13:33Speaker 10: real potential to do a lot of good without perhaps
- 13:37Speaker 10: firing a single shot.
- 13:38Speaker 9: To you.

- 14:01Speaker 1: It's Radio Night Life with Kevin McCullough.
- 14:06Speaker 3: John Can it be Adios? Yule.
- 14:13Speaker 4: She prays that God help her to give them at
- 14:15Speaker 4: least one more day of food.
- 14:17Speaker 3: So it's a daily prayer.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I don't know about you, friends, but when I hear
- 14:20Speaker 2: that little baby in the backdrop just doing the little coops,
- 14:24Speaker 2: it's like, it's so uh, it's it's so endearing, it's
- 14:28Speaker 2: so charming. And then and then it hits you that
- 14:31Speaker 2: an hell is talking about a mother who may not
- 14:34Speaker 2: be able to feed that baby today, and she's praying
- 14:37Speaker 2: for one more day's worth of food. That's what we're
- 14:39Speaker 2: trying to end in the current campaign that we're doing
- 14:42Speaker 2: with Food for the Poor. Danny Petito is back with
- 14:45Speaker 2: Kevin McCullough and we are talking about the opportunity to
- 14:49Speaker 2: feed that child or one just like it who has
- 14:52Speaker 2: food and security, for a gift of only seventy five
- 14:55Speaker 2: dollars for the entire year, two meals a day. It's
- 14:58Speaker 2: more than seven hundred seventy meals something like that for
- 15:03Speaker 2: the coming year, and being able to do so so economically.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I don't know if you've done the math on that,
- 15:09Speaker 2: but that's an incredibly inexpensive meal, and yet it'll be
- 15:12Speaker 2: everything that that child needs to be healthy. Daniel Patino
- 15:16Speaker 2: is back with us. Danny, I hear that and I
- 15:18Speaker 2: hear the baby, and it's like, you know, there's just
- 15:20Speaker 2: a dad part of me that just can't get away
- 15:22Speaker 2: from you know, how can we let something so innocent,
- 15:26Speaker 2: someone so little, go hungry. It's just it's inconceivable.
- 15:30Speaker 11: I'm a dad of two myself.
- 15:33Speaker 12: One is turning eight coming weeks, and the little one
- 15:36Speaker 12: it's three, and she's just as fast as eight year old.
- 15:40Speaker 12: And I want to take you to the perspective of
- 15:43Speaker 12: Beatrice that we just heard.
- 15:44Speaker 11: There.
- 15:44Speaker 12: There's prayers for health, there's prayers for safety, there's prayers
- 15:48Speaker 12: for prosperity, and then there are prayers that you just
- 15:51Speaker 12: heard there that just breaks your heart because that's a
- 15:55Speaker 12: prayer for one more day of food. That becomes the
- 15:59Speaker 12: entire horizon. That's their reality right now. I can't pray
- 16:02Speaker 12: for anything else than just one more meal, one more
- 16:05Speaker 12: meal to come in any way possible, from a neighbor,
- 16:10Speaker 12: from a food center, from a pastor that just comes
- 16:14Speaker 12: to the door. And I'm here for you. I've listened
- 16:19Speaker 12: to your prayers. You are not alone. And those are
- 16:22Speaker 12: the moments that we love to have here at Food
- 16:25Speaker 12: for the Poor because it comes from the generosity of
- 16:27Speaker 12: your audience and I followed that journey of that gift, right.
- 16:30Speaker 12: It comes in as a small donation and it becomes
- 16:35Speaker 12: a big, big change in these families' lives. This is
- 16:38Speaker 12: that one little push that some of these families need
- 16:40Speaker 12: to finally get back out of that cycle of poverty
- 16:43Speaker 12: and transform their lives for the better.
- 16:45Speaker 11: And if for the children, it's a whole new world.
- 16:48Speaker 12: They become children again, they get to focus on playing,
- 16:51Speaker 12: not necessarily having to stay indoors because the tummy aches,
- 16:55Speaker 12: or that just the body is not responding from malnutrition
- 16:58Speaker 12: or dirty water that usually happens in these communities that
- 17:02Speaker 12: we serve, waters that just make them sick, even if
- 17:06Speaker 12: they try to boil it or they try to treat it.
- 17:08Speaker 12: And those are the changes that we're going on right now,
- 17:11Speaker 12: and that's through the generosity of your audience.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Eight five five nine zero seven four six seven three
- 17:16Speaker 2: is where you call to give your gift. We're talking
- 17:20Speaker 2: about children in the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere,
- 17:24Speaker 2: one of the poorest countries in the world, Haiti, another
- 17:26Speaker 2: one of the poorest countries in the world, Guatemala, another
- 17:29Speaker 2: one of the poorest countries in the world, Honduras. We're
- 17:32Speaker 2: talking about true systemic poverty that these children, and Danny,
- 17:39Speaker 2: it's hard to it's hard to describe to someone who's
- 17:43Speaker 2: never been there to see it for themselves. But when
- 17:44Speaker 2: we think of the distended bellies, when we think of
- 17:47Speaker 2: the orange hair, when we think of the kind of
- 17:52Speaker 2: misshapen ways we've seen kids in some of these places,
- 17:57Speaker 2: there is a reason why the body has done all
- 17:59Speaker 2: of that. It's trying to protect itself from the natural
- 18:03Speaker 2: effects of malnutrition.
- 18:04Speaker 3: And so this is this is what happens.
- 18:06Speaker 2: It begins, in essence, feeding on itself over a period
- 18:09Speaker 2: of time. And that's why we need carbohydrates, we need proteins,
- 18:13Speaker 2: we need all of the little vitamins that come with that,
- 18:16Speaker 2: and we need it to be in a regular supply
- 18:19Speaker 2: on a regular basis. And that's how the body not
- 18:22Speaker 2: only sustains, but when you're talking about children, actually helps
- 18:25Speaker 2: them grow and friends, these are these are these are
- 18:28Speaker 2: children coming from families that do not make well. Danny,
- 18:32Speaker 2: how much does the average family make that food for
- 18:35Speaker 2: the poor has help with.
- 18:36Speaker 12: We're talking about less than two dollars a day. We've
- 18:40Speaker 12: seen that as just it's not enough, it's not enough
- 18:42Speaker 12: to feed anyone on a daily basis or keep a home.
- 18:46Speaker 12: And most of these families that we spoke to, they
- 18:48Speaker 12: have to travel right for work. It's not like they
- 18:51Speaker 12: go next door or they're going down right. So there's
- 18:55Speaker 12: two things that happen. They're one of the parents is
- 18:56Speaker 12: in home most of the day because they have to
- 18:58Speaker 12: go out and work.
- 18:59Speaker 11: And the other one is the distance.
- 19:01Speaker 12: Some families we've spoken to they have to grab a bus,
- 19:03Speaker 12: get on another tuck tuck or the little taxis that
- 19:07Speaker 12: look like motorcycles, jump on another transportation and all those
- 19:11Speaker 12: cost There is costs involved one way and coming back.
- 19:15Speaker 12: So the finally and if it rains, you can guess
- 19:18Speaker 12: there is a no work and that equals to no
- 19:21Speaker 12: money on the no money in your pocket, no food
- 19:23Speaker 12: on the table. So that's why we heard Beatrice at
- 19:26Speaker 12: the beginning of the segment. Here we heard are just
- 19:28Speaker 12: for not praying for a miracle, but praying that ordinary
- 19:33Speaker 12: comes about.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:34Speaker 12: The normal for what we take for granted is their normal.
- 19:38Speaker 12: And that's why we're that's what we're fighting for the
- 19:41Speaker 12: basis of life of what we're calling here food for
- 19:43Speaker 12: the poor on this day of hope with you, it's
- 19:46Speaker 12: the basics of life, which is food and clean water,
- 19:49Speaker 12: and that's all they're praying for right now, and that's
- 19:51Speaker 12: what you can step into the reality of these families
- 19:53Speaker 12: right now with your one time gift, and it's a
- 19:56Speaker 12: world of change for these families.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Friends.
- 19:58Speaker 2: The numbers eight five to five nine zero seven in
- 20:00Speaker 2: four six seven three eighty five five nine zero seven

- 20:10Speaker 2: that kevinshow dot com and click the banner at the
- 20:13Speaker 2: top of the page. Any one of these three ways,
- 20:16Speaker 2: you're going to get through to the area where you
- 20:18Speaker 2: can give your gift. And once you do, it's only
- 20:20Speaker 2: going to take about two minutes total to do that.
- 20:23Speaker 2: And if it's if it's if it's that simple, and
- 20:26Speaker 2: if it's this cost effective, and this is how cost
- 20:28Speaker 2: effective it is. If they make two dollars a day,
- 20:31Speaker 2: that's sixty dollars a month, think about this, what can
- 20:35Speaker 2: you do for your family and sixty dollars a month.
- 20:37Speaker 11: I think you're not wasting it either.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not.
- 20:39Speaker 11: You're not moving.
- 20:40Speaker 3: You're trying to say every little penny of them.
- 20:42Speaker 2: But here food for the Poor can cost effectively feed
- 20:46Speaker 2: a child for the year for seventy five dollars. But
- 20:51Speaker 2: that's for the entire year, and that's more than what
- 20:54Speaker 2: the family earns in a given month, so you can
- 20:56Speaker 2: see how expensive food is. Food does not charge them.
- 21:01Speaker 2: This food is given to the children so that they
- 21:03Speaker 2: can be fed and kind of take the worry off
- 21:06Speaker 2: mom and dad for at least this next year, knowing
- 21:09Speaker 2: that their child will eat and they can use that
- 21:12Speaker 2: time to better themselves as a family, put themselves in
- 21:15Speaker 2: a better situation. But it gives the child the complete
- 21:18Speaker 2: peace of mind that two meals every day are coming
- 21:21Speaker 2: their way, nutritionally balanced, exactly what they need. It's going
- 21:25Speaker 2: to give them the energy, it's going to give them
- 21:27Speaker 2: the ability for their muscles to grow and their bones
- 21:30Speaker 2: to solidify, and all the stuff that children's development needs.
- 21:33Speaker 2: That's what these meals are going to provide. And if
- 21:36Speaker 2: you give right now, this is kind of the cool part.
- 21:39Speaker 2: If you give right now for the next ten minutes,
- 21:43Speaker 2: every gift that we have received over the next ten minutes,
- 21:47Speaker 2: there will be a matching gift to match it. So
- 21:49Speaker 2: if you give five hundred dollars right now, that's going
- 21:52Speaker 2: to turn into one thousand dollars. If you give fifteen
- 21:56Speaker 2: hundred dollars, that's going to turn into three thousand dollars.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Eighty five to five, nine seven, four, six seven three.
- 22:01Speaker 2: A gift of one hundred and fifty dollars would normally
- 22:03Speaker 2: feed two children for the entire year. That's more than
- 22:06Speaker 2: seven hundred meals per kid. But also give them clean
- 22:08Speaker 2: drinking water. But if you call right now, there's a
- 22:11Speaker 2: match underway, and twice as many children will be helped
- 22:14Speaker 2: because you chose to give it now eight five five

- 27:18Speaker 1: OK.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Yeah, Yes, I always worry about the conditions. That's the water.
- 27:24Speaker 11: Is this environment.
- 27:26Speaker 7: Sometimes in the winter, they get sick, they might get diarrhea,
- 27:30Speaker 7: they might get stomach ache, and I believe that is
- 27:33Speaker 7: because of the wor collisions that they have.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I don't think that there's anybody on the planet that
- 27:39Speaker 2: can argue that being sick from bad water is a
- 27:43Speaker 2: bad experience. And if you've ever been in a foreign country,
- 27:46Speaker 2: if you've ever been in a place where the water
- 27:47Speaker 2: supply is not sound and you've experienced that, you know,
- 27:52Speaker 2: just on an average basis, what it is like to
- 27:54Speaker 2: be sick from that. But can you imagine that type
- 27:57Speaker 2: of water being the only water supply you have. App Well,
- 28:00Speaker 2: that is the case in thousands of little lives throughout
- 28:04Speaker 2: Central and Latin America, South America, Haiti, some of the
- 28:08Speaker 2: countries where food for the poores at work. And the
- 28:11Speaker 2: reason that we are bringing this to your attention right
- 28:14Speaker 2: now is because it is important to know that every
- 28:17Speaker 2: one of the children that we help with Food for
- 28:18Speaker 2: the Poor this year is not just going to receive
- 28:21Speaker 2: a year's worth of food with two meals per day
- 28:23Speaker 2: for the next three hundred and sixty five days, but
- 28:25Speaker 2: they're going to get clean drinking water. They're going to
- 28:28Speaker 2: have access to clean drinking water. Eight five five nine
- 28:31Speaker 2: oh seven four six seven three. You can also text
- 28:34Speaker 2: hunger to five one five five five here from Food
- 28:37Speaker 2: for the Poor to discuss.
- 28:38Speaker 3: As Danny Patino who rejoins us and Danny.
- 28:41Speaker 2: When I think of contaminated water, I almost think of
- 28:45Speaker 2: this as a bigger crisis, a more urgent crisis than
- 28:49Speaker 2: the lack of food. It takes you longer to starve
- 28:54Speaker 2: to death than it does to drink really bad water
- 28:57Speaker 2: and have your whole system be flushed with the hydration
- 29:01Speaker 2: and your body rejecting and emptying out of all of
- 29:03Speaker 2: the moisture that you have. And this is what Contaminated
- 29:07Speaker 2: water leads to deaths from dehydration more than anything else.
- 29:11Speaker 2: So it's a really, really bad deal. But the fact
- 29:14Speaker 2: that we give clean drinking water, access to clean drinking water,
- 29:17Speaker 2: every one of these kids were helping today.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's really an amazing thing.
- 29:21Speaker 12: And you said it best yourself. It can make you
- 29:24Speaker 12: sick and you are already sick. Then where do we go?
- 29:27Speaker 12: What's the next step?
- 29:28Speaker 11: Right?
- 29:28Speaker 12: So clean water should be all right, we understand that,
- 29:31Speaker 12: but for millions that we serve here at Food for
- 29:34Speaker 12: the Poor, it's a risk. And we're talking about water
- 29:37Speaker 12: that doesn't quench a thirst.
- 29:39Speaker 11: It makes you sick.
- 29:40Speaker 12: It creates sickness, and that water steals childhoods. And we
- 29:45Speaker 12: heard there are Maria we met in Guatemala. She just
- 29:49Speaker 12: thinks about what's going to make them sick if I
- 29:52Speaker 12: drink them water, not the other way around, where I
- 29:54Speaker 12: want to quench their thirst and move on with life,
- 29:57Speaker 12: right that we usually do here in the States, because
- 29:59Speaker 12: we don't I have to think about that kind of water.
- 30:02Speaker 11: We probably drink the bottom water.
- 30:04Speaker 12: That sits in our car in the sun for a
- 30:05Speaker 12: couple of days because we know it's clean, we know
- 30:08Speaker 12: we can drink it. And that's the kind of luxury
- 30:11Speaker 12: that we live here. And by the luxury, I mean
- 30:14Speaker 12: it is a luxury for these families that we're helping
- 30:16Speaker 12: in Latin America and the Caribbean and chronic diarrhea isn't
- 30:19Speaker 12: just a symptom.
- 30:20Speaker 11: It's a thief.
- 30:21Speaker 12: It steals nutrition from hungry children, It steals days from school.
- 30:27Speaker 12: Imagine not even being able to school, go to school
- 30:29Speaker 12: because you're sick, and on top of that and not
- 30:31Speaker 12: be able to feed your kids to get them back
- 30:34Speaker 12: to health. So that way, maybe you can get your
- 30:36Speaker 12: routine going. And that routine is broken right away. And
- 30:40Speaker 12: this is that strength that withers away on families that
- 30:43Speaker 12: are already struggling. And this can be preventable, and it
- 30:47Speaker 12: really is. And that's why I'm here today to tell
- 30:48Speaker 12: you that you can step into those lives of those
- 30:50Speaker 12: families with a one time gift, and that one time
- 30:53Speaker 12: gift becomes a daily gift for these families, for the
- 30:55Speaker 12: children that are already going through malnourishment. It becomes that
- 31:00Speaker 12: finally gets them back on their feet. Water that is
- 31:02Speaker 12: no longer contamidated. It's safe water. Water they can use
- 31:06Speaker 12: for many many other things other than drinking. Finally, you
- 31:09Speaker 12: can cook with this, you can bathe with this, you
- 31:11Speaker 12: can use it, and you know that it's not going
- 31:13Speaker 12: to come back and become something worse. And that's the
- 31:17Speaker 12: choice that a parent should not make. They should Their
- 31:21Speaker 12: choices would be what what kind of meal are we
- 31:23Speaker 12: having today? What what cool adventure are we going to
- 31:26Speaker 12: go on today? And that's the goal that we were
- 31:28Speaker 12: just trying to provide with. Are the one time gift
- 31:32Speaker 12: that we were asking here, Well, one time gift, the
- 31:33Speaker 12: one hundred and fifty dollars, Like you said, it becomes
- 31:36Speaker 12: a world of change, three hundred and sixty five days
- 31:39Speaker 12: of relief for these families.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Eight five, five, nine oh seven four six seven three.
- 31:44Speaker 2: You can also text hunger to five one five five five.
- 31:47Speaker 2: If you think about this, friends, and I really beg
- 31:51Speaker 2: of you to consider that one hundred and fifty dollars
- 31:57Speaker 2: seventy five dollars per child is not only going to
- 32:00Speaker 2: feed them two meals a day for the coming year,
- 32:04Speaker 2: but that it's going to give them access to clean
- 32:06Speaker 2: drinking water. Now do you think they need probably more
- 32:10Speaker 2: than eight or sixteen ounces whatever your little water bottle
- 32:13Speaker 2: is that you buy, you know, from the vending machine,
- 32:15Speaker 2: or you get it from the from the Walgreens or
- 32:17Speaker 2: wherever you go, you know, and you grab a bottle
- 32:20Speaker 2: of water, even if you get it from the Sam's
- 32:22Speaker 2: club or the you know whatever else the discount buyer
- 32:25Speaker 2: shop and you can get the big crate. They're still
- 32:28Speaker 2: what a dollar fifty each or something like that dollar
- 32:31Speaker 2: twenty five maybe where you can go. Imagine having to
- 32:35Speaker 2: supply water for a child for an entire year eight
- 32:39Speaker 2: five five nine oh seven four six seven three. Friends,

- 37:00Speaker 2: Back to radio, Night Life, Yours, Kevin McCullough, Welcome back
- 37:04Speaker 2: to Times Square, Kevin McCullough of That Kevin Show, and
- 37:08Speaker 2: always happy to be with you, friend, wherever you find
- 37:11Speaker 2: yourself at. At this very moment, we are on a mission,
- 37:14Speaker 2: and the mission is very simple. Give some children some
- 37:18Speaker 2: healthy food, some clean drinking water, and watch them just
- 37:22Speaker 2: literally burst into growth and happiness and experience something that they've.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Not had in a long time, which is joy.
- 37:30Speaker 2: I don't know if the average person knows this, but
- 37:32Speaker 2: if you talk to the scientists that have done the data,
- 37:37Speaker 2: the average orphaned child in the world goes seventy two
- 37:42Speaker 2: hours in between anything that's recognizably food as a meal.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I'm not talking about boiling tree bark or drinking water
- 37:51Speaker 2: that was boiled with rocks in it to give it
- 37:53Speaker 2: a little whatever. No, none of that. We're talking about
- 37:56Speaker 2: actual foods. Seventy two hours. I wonder how many of
- 38:00Speaker 2: us would last seventy two hours in between each meal.
- 38:05Speaker 2: It is a very, very, very brutal existence for young children,
- 38:09Speaker 2: particularly in the poorest parts of the world. And Danny
- 38:12Speaker 2: Patino is back with us, and this is why Food
- 38:15Speaker 2: for the Poor is there. We are trying to help
- 38:17Speaker 2: these children, Danny. I don't think a lot of people
- 38:19Speaker 2: know this. There are there's enough food on the planet,
- 38:23Speaker 2: more than enough food on the planet for every single person, man, woman,
- 38:28Speaker 2: child around the globe to consume more than four and
- 38:32Speaker 2: a half pounds of food per day. Now, I don't
- 38:35Speaker 2: know about you, but I don't need what would that
- 38:38Speaker 2: be twelve quarter pounders a day to survive. It's just
- 38:42Speaker 2: not necessary. But that's how much food there is in
- 38:46Speaker 2: essence for people to eat. The problem is not the
- 38:50Speaker 2: existence of the food. The problem is getting it to
- 38:52Speaker 2: the people who need it and in time before they
- 38:56Speaker 2: pass away without it. And that's what you guys at
- 38:58Speaker 2: Food for the Poor have been doing for the poorest
- 39:01Speaker 2: of the poor for the last forty three years.
- 39:03Speaker 12: That's right, Kevin. It's unfortunate to know that that's there.
- 39:07Speaker 12: It's unfortunate to know that that amount of food exists
- 39:11Speaker 12: and the other part is that these families that we
- 39:13Speaker 12: serve in Latin America and the Caribbean here at Food
- 39:15Speaker 12: for the Poor, they have like a glass ceiling because
- 39:18Speaker 12: they don't know that that is available. And if they
- 39:20Speaker 12: do know that is available, I think that would just
- 39:23Speaker 12: push them more into the brink of the spare.
- 39:26Speaker 11: Where they are right.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Now, Well, it's far away like it's on other parts
- 39:30Speaker 2: of the planet.
- 39:30Speaker 11: It feels like another planet.
- 39:31Speaker 2: No, it feels like another plant of them where they're
- 39:34Speaker 2: at in their home right now.
- 39:36Speaker 12: And the best part of is that, well, Food for
- 39:38Speaker 12: the Poor works with the country itself. We work with
- 39:41Speaker 12: the local farmers, we work with the local ministries, We
- 39:44Speaker 12: work with the local pastors and know these families in
- 39:46Speaker 12: and out. These pastors that have been in these communities
- 39:49Speaker 12: for over twenty years, and they know generations that have
- 39:51Speaker 12: come through and basically the same problem that's been there
- 39:55Speaker 12: from the start, which is bad water. Water that's not
- 39:59Speaker 12: good for anyone one. Nobody would drink this water, but
- 40:01Speaker 12: some families are forced to. And I want to talk
- 40:05Speaker 12: about Chauvelin real quick. This is a twelve year old
- 40:08Speaker 12: that we met when we were in Haiti and water
- 40:11Speaker 12: isn't in her kitchen. It's at the end of a
- 40:14Speaker 12: long walk to a muddy river, and that walk changes everything.
- 40:19Speaker 18: Her name is Chauvelin or Alice. She's twelve years old.
- 40:26Speaker 18: She was fetching water to drink. I treat the water
- 40:35Speaker 18: to drink it. She treats it with aquatap. But they
- 40:38Speaker 18: don't find the aquatap tablet all the time. Sometimes they
- 40:41Speaker 18: drink it like that, or they try to find a
- 40:44Speaker 18: little chlorine to put in it. Kulga lo. It tastes
- 40:53Speaker 18: like mud. Sometimes I can even feel the germs inside
- 40:57Speaker 18: of it.
- 40:58Speaker 14: You can.
- 41:00Speaker 11: Sometimes it gives me stomach ache.
- 41:02Speaker 3: I can feel the germs inside of the water. Friends.
- 41:06Speaker 2: I don't know if those words hit your ears the
- 41:09Speaker 2: way they hit mine, But I cannot imagine my sweetheart,
- 41:15Speaker 2: my little ten year old, having to say that she
- 41:18Speaker 2: feels the germs inside of the water. That means that
- 41:21Speaker 2: there's stuff in the water. Friends, that's what she's talking about.
- 41:24Speaker 2: That's how unclean, unsanitary, unusable, these some of these water
- 41:29Speaker 2: supplies are. And that's why with food for the poor,
- 41:33Speaker 2: bringing in water filtration systems, getting filtered water, two people
- 41:37Speaker 2: where they're able to putting in an entire system where
- 41:40Speaker 2: an entire village sometimes can store up to tens of
- 41:43Speaker 2: thousands of clean drinking water per day, filter them through them,
- 41:48Speaker 2: and get them to people. That's why they're so vital,
- 41:51Speaker 2: they're so important. But Danny, my heart just sank when
- 41:54Speaker 2: I heard that. I've never heard that sound by before,
- 41:55Speaker 2: and just just my heart fell out of my shoes.
- 41:58Speaker 11: Well, she's twelve.
- 42:01Speaker 12: Chauvelin should have been in school when we when we
- 42:03Speaker 12: visit her in a small village in Haiti. She should
- 42:06Speaker 12: be with friends, But instead she's carrying sickness in a
- 42:11Speaker 12: bucket home every day. And she knows that that water
- 42:14Speaker 12: tastes like mud. She knows that that's going to give
- 42:17Speaker 12: her a stomach ache. But that's the only option. Do
- 42:20Speaker 12: I do I get sick because I'm dehydrated? Or should
- 42:24Speaker 12: I just get sick because I drink water and I
- 42:27Speaker 12: know where it's what's going to get me sick from.
- 42:29Speaker 12: But that's the only option. And that that walk does
- 42:31Speaker 12: more than collect water. That that collects hours, hours that
- 42:35Speaker 12: could be in a classroom, they can be helping others,
- 42:38Speaker 12: hours that can be plaining, hours that they can become
- 42:42Speaker 12: pretty much a permanent subtraction from childhood, and every day
- 42:45Speaker 12: that she walks, her future does get smaller and smaller.
- 42:49Speaker 12: But that doesn't have to be the way, folks. That's
- 42:52Speaker 12: why we're waiting on that solution. And that solution comes
- 42:55Speaker 12: in the form of you, the audience, and let's let's
- 42:58Speaker 12: connect right now. Let's get these folks ready to tell them, Hey,
- 43:02Speaker 12: you're getting a new water source, water source that it's
- 43:05Speaker 12: going to be clean. It's going to not having to
- 43:07Speaker 12: be in a muddy puddle. It's going to be from
- 43:10Speaker 12: a speaking from a place that you can just put
- 43:12Speaker 12: your buck in. You can see the clearness of that water,
- 43:15Speaker 12: and you can already think of the possibilities, the great
- 43:17Speaker 12: possibilities of what you can use that water for, from
- 43:20Speaker 12: cooking to drinking to bathing.
- 43:22Speaker 11: But again, this is the reality that we can.
- 43:24Speaker 12: Change right away, and it's from a click of a
- 43:27Speaker 12: mouse to a text message, to a phone call, any
- 43:30Speaker 12: way possible. It takes you a couple minutes, but it's
- 43:32Speaker 12: going to change a whole world and days, years, even
- 43:36Speaker 12: for these families.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Eight five, five, nine oh seven, four six seven three.
- 43:41Speaker 2: You can also text hunger to five one five five
- 43:43Speaker 2: five and if you give right now, friends, for the
- 43:45Speaker 2: next ten minutes, someone's going to come along and match
- 43:48Speaker 2: every child that you sponsor, every gift that you give,
- 43:51Speaker 2: every dollar you give, We're going to match that in
- 43:53Speaker 2: food and water for these kids. Eight five five, nine
- 43:56Speaker 2: zero seven, four six seven three eight fivey five nine
- 44:00Speaker 2: zero seven four six seven three. So important, friends, that
- 44:03Speaker 2: we act upon this right now. There're seven hundred and
- 44:06Speaker 2: twenty children on this list. Many of them will perish
- 44:09Speaker 2: if we do not hit our goal, if we do
- 44:11Speaker 2: not reach every single one of them, And I'm I'm
- 44:14Speaker 2: gonna lose sleep over the next couple of months worrying
- 44:16Speaker 2: about this, but that hey, it's a small price to
- 44:19Speaker 2: pay to know that we can get every one of
- 44:22Speaker 2: these children taking care of for the next year, with
- 44:24Speaker 2: food in their tummy and clean drinking water at their disposal.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Eight fiy five nine zero, seven, four six seven three

- 45:47Speaker 3: And now it's time for the CAS corner.
- 45:49Speaker 20: We need more of common sense in Washington. Running a
- 45:52Speaker 20: country is like running a business. Well, our current president,
- 45:56Speaker 20: President Trump knows how to run a business, and guess
- 45:59Speaker 20: what he's running a country like that. He makes common
- 46:03Speaker 20: sense decisions. If we're gonna send money to the Ukraine
- 46:07Speaker 20: to help them, why not have the mineral rights? Why
- 46:11Speaker 20: not have the oil rights on some of the other countries.
- 46:14Speaker 20: Let's have common sense. We want our country to United
- 46:18Speaker 20: States of America to be number one. Last week criticized
- 46:22Speaker 20: Iran for attacking its neighbors because some of their neighbors
- 46:25Speaker 20: are also China's partners. But what President Trump, as a
- 46:29Speaker 20: businessman has done is unify the Arab world, unify Europe. Finally,
- 46:34Speaker 20: no major wars in the future. Let's have common sense
- 46:39Speaker 20: and have common sense prevailed. I'm John Katsimatitis and that's
- 46:42Speaker 20: your Cat's Corner.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Joined John Katsimatitis on Kats and Cosmic week nights at
- 46:46Speaker 1: five and the Cats Roundtable Sunday mornings eight to ten
- 46:49Speaker 1: on AM nine seventy.
- 46:51Speaker 3: The answer Kevin McCullough, glad to be with you.
- 46:54Speaker 2: I'm speaking with Danny Patino and we're talking about food
- 46:57Speaker 2: for the poor and feeding children this monthy, what are
- 47:00Speaker 2: these children experiencing.
- 47:01Speaker 11: Our bodies are miraculous.
- 47:03Speaker 12: They will adapt to altitude, to temperature, to stress. But
- 47:07Speaker 12: there's one thing that they should never adapt to, and
- 47:09Speaker 12: that is hunger. And we met a young girl named
- 47:11Speaker 12: Daniela and I'll do it us. And she's built a
- 47:13Speaker 12: tolerance to not eating. I'm gonna let that sit in
- 47:15Speaker 12: for a moment. She's built a tolerance to noise, she's
- 47:18Speaker 12: built a tolerance to discomfort, to inconvenience, but to hunger.
- 47:21Speaker 12: And that's the body's ultimate surrender. That's when empty becomes
- 47:25Speaker 12: the new normal. And that tolerance isn't strengthful to it's
- 47:27Speaker 12: a survival mode, and it's the body learning to function
- 47:30Speaker 12: on less than what it needs. And it's a childhood
- 47:33Speaker 12: adapting to scarcity instead of abundance. And once that's built,
- 47:37Speaker 12: that tolerance is going to just shape everything from growth,
- 47:40Speaker 12: learning and hope eight.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Fivey five nine oh seven four six seven three eight
- 47:44Speaker 2: fivey five nine oh seven four six seven three.
- 47:47Speaker 3: You can also text hunger to five one five five five.
- 47:50Speaker 9: Listen to AM nine seventy The Answer and Alexa tune
- 47:53Speaker 9: in iheartodysty dot com.
- 47:54Speaker 1: You hew it is next on AM nine seventy the
- 47:58Speaker 1: Answer once again from New York Here's Radio night Life
- 48:08Speaker 1: and Kevin McCullough.
- 48:10Speaker 3: All right, Kevin mccallach, glad to have you with us.
- 48:12Speaker 3: Welcome back.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I forgot friends earlier in the hour when I was
- 48:16Speaker 2: telling you about Food for the Poor, I forgot to
- 48:19Speaker 2: mention that you can click through on that kevinshow dot
- 48:23Speaker 2: com through the Food for the Poor banner, which should
- 48:25Speaker 2: be up. You can text the word hunger to five
- 48:30Speaker 2: one five five five. You can also give that way,
- 48:33Speaker 2: or you can call eight five five nine zero seven
- 48:36Speaker 2: four six seven three. And however you give your gift,
- 48:40Speaker 2: if you give it this hour, it will be matched
- 48:44Speaker 2: child for child. So whatever you give, you give one
- 48:47Speaker 2: hundred and fifty dollars. Normally, that would take care of
- 48:49Speaker 2: two children for the entire next year, all the food
- 48:52Speaker 2: and all the water that they need for the entire
- 48:54Speaker 2: next year, two meals a day, all the drinking water
- 48:58Speaker 2: that they can have. And it's clean, it's I you're
- 49:00Speaker 2: a fight, it's good for them, it's not nasty. One
- 49:03Speaker 2: hundred and fifty dollars two kids for the entire year.
- 49:07Speaker 2: But right now someone will match that if you call,
- 49:09Speaker 2: and that's going to double the impact. You're going to
- 49:12Speaker 2: reach four kids instead of two. Eight five, five nine
- 49:16Speaker 2: zero seven, four six seven three eight five five nine
- 49:18Speaker 2: zero seven four six seven three. And I would love
- 49:21Speaker 2: to just like do so well at this friends with you.
- 49:26Speaker 2: I would love to make such a difference with you
- 49:29Speaker 2: that we just we blow away all our all of
- 49:32Speaker 2: our fellow talk show hosts at Salem Media. I know
- 49:36Speaker 2: my buddy Mike Gallagher, he really gets excited about this campaign.
- 49:39Speaker 2: And you know, he's always like talking smack to you,
- 49:42Speaker 2: Hewitt and some of the others about how many, how
- 49:44Speaker 2: many kids he feeds and so forth. I'd love I'd
- 49:47Speaker 2: love to show him that real Christians really do care
- 49:51Speaker 2: about the impact. And that's the beautiful thing about Food
- 49:55Speaker 2: for the Poor. It is a Christian ministry that has
- 49:57Speaker 2: been in place for forty five years in these eighteen countries.
- 50:01Speaker 2: And you're gonna not only give food and clean drinking
- 50:05Speaker 2: water to that child, but that child will be introduced
- 50:07Speaker 2: to Jesus at the same time. So eight five, five,
