Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hi, everyone, Welcome back to Vanity.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Farah. My name is Chris Farah, and this is part
- 0:09Speaker 2: two of me talking about ninety dight Fiance Season twelve,
- 0:13Speaker 2: episode six, when two worlds collide. Oh my goodness, gracious,
- 0:18Speaker 2: let's talk Edward and Marissa. So we pick up and
- 0:23Speaker 2: he's like talking to his fam. Honey, he's talking to
- 0:26Speaker 2: his mom and they're face timing, and Marissa's pissed, really pissed.
- 0:32Speaker 2: She's like, oh, can't you just text them? I don't
- 0:34Speaker 2: understand why every time you talk to them you have
- 0:37Speaker 2: to be on FaceTime and on speaker. Now here's what
- 0:40Speaker 2: I say about that. There's two parts of this. First
- 0:43Speaker 2: of all, let the man fucking talk to his family.
- 0:45Speaker 2: He's now completely surrounded by your Blanco family, So allow
- 0:50Speaker 2: him sometime to talk to his family.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And also, maybe, Edward, I get it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: If you're going to put it on speaker, then like
- 0:57Speaker 2: just go to a room where like she can do
- 1:00Speaker 2: whatever the fuck she wants in peace. Like, just she
- 1:02Speaker 2: has a big ass house, right, so just talk to
- 1:06Speaker 2: your mom in one of the other rooms. Plus, you
- 1:09Speaker 2: don't want them, like, you don't want her hearing all
- 1:11Speaker 2: of your business anyway, she's like, thanks, well.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Can you help with dinner?
- 1:17Speaker 2: So he's like, ye, sure, and he tries to be
- 1:19Speaker 2: like lighthearted where he puts a bunch of ketchup on
- 1:21Speaker 2: his hand.
- 1:21Speaker 1: He's like whoo blood, you know when.
- 1:24Speaker 2: She's like Jesus Christ, she's then she realizes that she's
- 1:31Speaker 2: like kind of being contish. So she's like, just, you know,
- 1:36Speaker 2: tell me to stop being bossy. And he is such
- 1:39Speaker 2: a polite saying that he doesn't. He doesn't in the moment,
- 1:43Speaker 2: being like, oh bitch, you're bossy?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Stop is that the Yeah, no I can. I don't
- 1:47Speaker 1: think that was a fucking option. But yes, he's like no,
- 1:51Speaker 1: I mean he this man has like some patience.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So then she's like, okay, great, can you cut the
- 1:57Speaker 1: potatoes in half?
- 1:58Speaker 2: And he knows, but that's not enough instruction because inevitably
- 2:02Speaker 2: he says, there are three different ways to do that,
- 2:05Speaker 2: and if I do it the way I think to
- 2:07Speaker 2: do it, it's gonna be wrong. Right with you, it's
- 2:09Speaker 2: not gonna be right. She's like, oh, okay, I'll show
- 2:11Speaker 2: you how, and I want to be like does it
- 2:14Speaker 2: really make a difference? Slice or dice? Do you want?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Because in the end, are you going to dice the potatoes,
- 2:21Speaker 1: which is what she ends up doing.
- 2:22Speaker 2: So like it doesn't really make a difference how you
- 2:24Speaker 2: cut them in half, because you're gonna cut them in
- 2:26Speaker 2: half again and probably one more time, you know what
- 2:28Speaker 2: I'm saying. So now it's pranks all around, because the
- 2:33Speaker 2: boys will be boys. And so her sons come in
- 2:36Speaker 2: and they're like, we have a gift for you, Edward. Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 2: it's this weird box and you for some reason have
- 2:40Speaker 2: to open the box while it's on the table, and
- 2:41Speaker 2: so Edward knows what's coming, and basically he opens the
- 2:43Speaker 2: box by sliding it down. Then a spider pops out,
- 2:46Speaker 2: and that felt just like like it was a little
- 2:50Speaker 2: bit like sound of music, remember when sound of music,
- 2:55Speaker 2: where like, you know, those kids don't want a new governess,
- 2:57Speaker 2: and so like they would do a bunch of like
- 2:59Speaker 2: pranks to like make the governesses leave by like you know,
- 3:02Speaker 2: putting frogs in my bed or whatever the fuck it is.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It's like a test. It's well, it's like a power
- 3:09Speaker 2: move kind of but you know it's whatever. This fake
- 3:13Speaker 2: spider is fine, and he likes it, and then he's
- 3:16Speaker 2: this is so kind, you know, he's like, Okay, I
- 3:19Speaker 2: have a gift for both of you. Okay, pick which hand,
- 3:23Speaker 2: and Call's like that hand and he gives him cash
- 3:27Speaker 2: and it's like fifty bucks, which is more than Alison
- 3:30Speaker 2: gets from Shay. And then Derek is like a little
- 3:33Speaker 2: bit older, He's like okay, and he's like yeah, the
- 3:35Speaker 2: other hand, and then he gives him fifty duck fifty
- 3:37Speaker 2: bucks and Derek doesn't accept the gift and the reasoning why.
- 3:44Speaker 2: At first he's like.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Mom, is this your money? And she's like no, and
- 3:48Speaker 1: then he's.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Like low key, like I don't want to accept this
- 3:51Speaker 2: gift from you because I don't think you can afford
- 3:55Speaker 2: it or money means a lot to you because like
- 3:58Speaker 2: you don't have as much money as my grandparents, and
- 4:01Speaker 2: so it feels weird. And Marissa's like, you have to
- 4:05Speaker 2: accept a gift that's given to you, and certainly Edward
- 4:08Speaker 2: picks up on how awkward this is.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Now there's a lot of things to be said.
- 4:15Speaker 2: A When you are Derek's age, you don't know decorum
- 4:21Speaker 2: super well, like I don't expect an eleven year old
- 4:24Speaker 2: to know how to, like, you know, move in every
- 4:27Speaker 2: situation perfectly and I've.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Already brought up the fact that.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I think that he has been raised hearing a lot
- 4:37Speaker 2: about money, you know, especially now knowing that his dad
- 4:41Speaker 2: never felt like rich enough to be with Marissa, And
- 4:47Speaker 2: certainly I'm sure from the divorce he had to overhear
- 4:50Speaker 2: a lot of money talk, and he already talked about
- 4:54Speaker 2: whether Edward would have money or whatnot. And so this
- 4:57Speaker 2: little boy, you know, like is high hype or a
- 5:00Speaker 2: tune to such a thing. And I don't think Marissa
- 5:04Speaker 2: has done a good job leading him on how to
- 5:08Speaker 2: move elegantly around the subject of money. She tries to
- 5:16Speaker 2: be like, yeah, you have to accept the gift, but
- 5:18Speaker 2: it's still awkward, right. It's like, first of all, fifty
- 5:25Speaker 2: dollars is a good amount of money to give anyone.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Like if my dad gave me fifty dollars right now,
- 5:33Speaker 2: I'd be like, oh, thank you, you know, like it's
- 5:36Speaker 2: a good amount of money. It's not ten dollars. It's
- 5:41Speaker 2: not a twenty dollar bill, which is nice. Like when
- 5:43Speaker 2: I was younger, Like, yeah, when I was younger, my
- 5:48Speaker 2: like in high school and stuff, my dad would give
- 5:50Speaker 2: me twenty dollars, you know, and that would be like
- 5:53Speaker 2: enough for me to go to Fashion Island, you know,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and go see a movie or like you know, buy
- 5:58Speaker 2: a meal or whatever. Fifty dollars is like a lot.
- 6:01Speaker 2: You can do a lot with fifty dollars. But yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 2: Derek already operates under the assumption that Edward is without
- 6:12Speaker 2: and that his mom is a lot has a lot.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And so.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Where Derek feels like he falls in that, you know,
- 6:22Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't want to say it's like
- 6:24Speaker 2: super rude of him where he thinks that he has
- 6:27Speaker 2: so much money and you know he won't you know,
- 6:30Speaker 2: bother taking you know, the bits from a popper. But
- 6:36Speaker 2: I think that it makes him feel a little awkward
- 6:38Speaker 2: and he doesn't know how to deal with it. And
- 6:42Speaker 2: you know, surely Edward's like you know kids in the
- 6:45Speaker 2: dr if you gave him any money, like you know,
- 6:48Speaker 2: not fifty, maybe even less, but surely fifty, they would
- 6:50Speaker 2: be like so thankful, they'd be like wide eyed, you know.
- 6:52Speaker 2: And I'm sure Edward thought that he could pull a
- 6:54Speaker 2: Shay and buy some love with the fifty and it
- 6:56Speaker 2: worked with Cole, but Derek is like one year older
- 6:59Speaker 2: and you know, like a different breed. I don't know
- 7:03Speaker 2: how you would approach this as a parental figure, because like,
- 7:08Speaker 2: discussing money and how to be gracious about it is hard, right,
- 7:15Speaker 2: It's it's hard. And I think that like kids get
- 7:20Speaker 2: judged in school or judge each other based upon how
- 7:25Speaker 2: much money they think they have in relationship with someone else,
- 7:28Speaker 2: whether someone has like new shoes or someone doesn't, or
- 7:32Speaker 2: someone you know has cool birthday parties or someone you
- 7:36Speaker 2: know has you know, like all of that's.
- 7:40Speaker 1: A weird thing to navigate in school. And so.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I give grace to the whole situation because Edward didn't
- 7:52Speaker 2: realize that there would be like a weird reaction to money,
- 7:57Speaker 2: and he did give like a good amount. And you know,
- 8:04Speaker 2: Derek is living in a world where I think that
- 8:08Speaker 2: he thinks that, yeah, like saying, asking his mom in
- 8:11Speaker 2: real time if it was her money was fucked up.
- 8:15Speaker 2: But at the same time, Marissa didn't lay good groundwork
- 8:19Speaker 2: of like being gracious with money and telling him that, like,
- 8:23Speaker 2: Edward's a grown man who has his own.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Money, so.
- 8:30Speaker 2: What he chooses to do with his money is his
- 8:34Speaker 2: choice as a grown man, you know. And also yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and yeah, it was just it's obviously awkward, Okay, But
- 8:44Speaker 2: I think there's probably a lot of awkward moments, so
- 8:47Speaker 2: God bless they get to eat, which is nice because
- 8:49Speaker 2: someone on Reddit said this, which is so true that like,
- 8:53Speaker 2: Marissa is an almond mom. Thankfully she has two boys
- 8:57Speaker 2: so she allows them to eat. But if Marissa had
- 8:59Speaker 2: a daughter, I don't fucking know what she would do
- 9:01Speaker 2: to that woman. Honestly, she cooks the kids steak, potatoes
- 9:04Speaker 2: and broccoli. And then Edward's like, and at some point
- 9:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna make Dominican food. And you can tell that
- 9:11Speaker 2: coal is like way more open to Edward. Cole's like,
- 9:14Speaker 2: what is that? And He's like rice, beans, chicken. Now listen,
- 9:21Speaker 2: you know Derek's like black beans, which I thought the
- 9:24Speaker 2: answer would be yes, but that's the answer is no,
- 9:27Speaker 2: it's red beans. He's like, oh, I'll stick with black beans. Now,
- 9:31Speaker 2: this is where Marissa can be like, buddy, you're gonna
- 9:33Speaker 2: eat them red beans, red beans, and rice didn't miss her.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Sorry, you know I'm talking about baby got back.
- 9:42Speaker 2: A bean is a bean. A bean is a bean.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I like them all. I like them refried, I like
- 9:49Speaker 2: pinto beans, like fava beans, I like I like black beans.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I like Lento's and I like chickpeas, I like white beans.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I was like those canelini beans. I love a bean anyway.
- 10:03Speaker 2: So she's like tries to change the subject, but the
- 10:07Speaker 2: way she changes the subject is like one other thing
- 10:09Speaker 2: about Edward is that he's never seen snow, and they're like, oh,
- 10:14Speaker 2: we see it all the time. I want to be like,
- 10:16Speaker 2: and what those kids probably have I've ever seen is
- 10:18Speaker 2: like day in, day out beautiful beaches. So yeah, it's
- 10:24Speaker 2: like you kind of have to raise kids who you
- 10:29Speaker 2: think are privileged with the knowledge that they don't have
- 10:34Speaker 2: the universal experience of what is good in the world.
- 10:39Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Like, who cares if Edward
- 10:43Speaker 2: hasn't ever seen snow? He lives in the dr you know,
- 10:47Speaker 2: like those kids haven't been raised in like a tropical paradise.
- 10:50Speaker 2: They live in Pennsylvania. But I like, if you are
- 10:55Speaker 2: eleven and you think that like your shit does instinct
- 10:57Speaker 2: because your parents are you know, parents are rich, and
- 11:01Speaker 2: you're used to find nice things, It's like you would
- 11:04Speaker 2: have to have the wherewithal as a human to impart
- 11:07Speaker 2: upon your kids that that doesn't mean that they've lived
- 11:12Speaker 2: the best life in every possible vicinity. Surely they're privileged,
- 11:16Speaker 2: and that's true, but like there are beautiful environments in
- 11:21Speaker 2: spaces that they don't know. There are elegant, deeply elegant,
- 11:26Speaker 2: rich ass experiences that those kids don't know. But the
- 11:30Speaker 2: thing is Marissa doesn't know them all. Like Marissa hangs
- 11:33Speaker 2: her hat on, like Edward hasn't been able to experience
- 11:37Speaker 2: what I have, And.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Okay, you've also haven't experienced the things that he has.
- 11:47Speaker 1: There are.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Privileged quote unquote beautiful quote unquote wealthy.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Experiences that he's had.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Wealthy is a weird word, but like deeply lovely experiences
- 12:02Speaker 2: that you have not known that he has. Because I
- 12:07Speaker 2: think that being surrounded by family that like sings and
- 12:12Speaker 2: laughs and is loud together and like shows that kind
- 12:15Speaker 2: of palpable support and like family unit is probably not
- 12:21Speaker 2: what she experienced in her like waspy, white rich Land parents.
- 12:27Speaker 2: And so who's to say you know that he hasn't
- 12:32Speaker 2: had an incredibly rich experience with his family much richer
- 12:37Speaker 2: than hers, you know what I'm saying, because like the
- 12:43Speaker 2: fun and traditions I'm sure that his family has, like
- 12:49Speaker 2: when they all get together and they're celebrating holidays or
- 12:52Speaker 2: birthdays and it's like fun as fuck, and they're like
- 12:55Speaker 2: laughing because like, you know, he has this hilarious uncle
- 12:59Speaker 2: that does this thing here, you know, And it's like
- 13:03Speaker 2: those rich life experiences me a lot. And I think
- 13:10Speaker 2: if you're a little stoic and you are a little
- 13:13Speaker 2: like uppity about what you've experienced, you were not even
- 13:17Speaker 2: open minded to realize what you also haven't experienced.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just like, you know, I know, there's like
- 13:27Speaker 1: wealth everywhere.
- 13:28Speaker 2: There's also like wealth in like Vienna and Geneva in Paris,
- 13:32Speaker 2: and you know what I'm saying, Like, so why is
- 13:35Speaker 2: Pennsylvania so fucking great?
- 13:38Speaker 1: I mean, and I can say that.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Like I grew up in Newport Beach, which is arguably
- 13:45Speaker 2: like a wealthy part of America, and I know, I
- 13:52Speaker 2: lack not knowing what it's like to grow up rich
- 13:56Speaker 2: in New York, right, Like the experience of being in
- 14:02Speaker 2: different cities and having different cultures is one thing, but
- 14:07Speaker 2: also they're just talking about monetary things. Like the way
- 14:12Speaker 2: that people experience wealth in certain situations is so different.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I don't know if this is like me beating a
- 14:19Speaker 1: dead horse over this, but it's like.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, to think that your way is it? And you've
- 14:27Speaker 2: accomplished and experienced so much At the same time, it's
- 14:30Speaker 2: like all right, girl, Like, so you get to have
- 14:33Speaker 2: nice leggings when you teach a bar class in Philadelphia?
- 14:37Speaker 2: Is that it? That's that's it. I don't know. She
- 14:43Speaker 2: just really has in her head like he's never flown
- 14:45Speaker 2: on a plane before, so he's never seen a hotel before.
- 14:48Speaker 2: And I think that, like it's good for her to
- 14:50Speaker 2: have an understanding that their experiences have been different. But
- 14:53Speaker 2: what's hard is that I think that she really in
- 14:56Speaker 2: her mind is also like in my experiences are better
- 14:58Speaker 2: wealthy or more privileged, and just like I'm luckier than
- 15:03Speaker 2: this has happened, and I've raised my kids to sort
- 15:05Speaker 2: of like think of money in a way where there's
- 15:09Speaker 2: haves and have nots, and we're better or we are
- 15:17Speaker 2: we look down on people who we perceive to be
- 15:20Speaker 2: have nots. But it's interesting. I guess it's like, yeah,
- 15:26Speaker 2: Edward might come from like you know, his parents might
- 15:30Speaker 2: still be married, and he has like brothers and sisters
- 15:32Speaker 2: and cousins he sees all the time. You can't look
- 15:36Speaker 2: down on that that's better than you, you know, I
- 15:40Speaker 2: don't know, okay, I'll stop. I like Edward a lot.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Some people in the streets of Reddit have been like
- 15:47Speaker 2: they think that Edward like skin bleaches his face because
- 15:50Speaker 2: his face is like, you know, not as tann as
- 15:52Speaker 2: his body. And if that's the truth, I hope he
- 15:56Speaker 2: doesn't have to do that anymore. I don't really understand
- 15:58Speaker 2: skin bleaching, like is it permanent, like or does that
- 16:05Speaker 2: like if he stops doing it, would that skin you know,
- 16:09Speaker 2: it's folly it off because like we like, you know,
- 16:11Speaker 2: we're like snakes and we like shud our skin every
- 16:13Speaker 2: like whatever six weeks and would his natural tan come back?
- 16:17Speaker 1: And or if he was like in the sun, would
- 16:18Speaker 1: it come back?
- 16:20Speaker 2: I don't know. So Edward's trying to like get the
- 16:25Speaker 2: boys on his side, like does either of you have girlfriends?
- 16:28Speaker 1: And they're like, what No, But you know what age.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Do boys don't start liking whoever they're gonna like.
- 16:37Speaker 1: It would be hilarious. And one of them was like,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I have a boyfriend.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I was just kidding. You know, kids nowadays got bless so,
- 16:44Speaker 2: but it doesn't seem like they're end of that. They
- 16:45Speaker 2: seem like there are still about roadblocks, you know. That's unfortunately,
- 16:48Speaker 2: what Edward would have to do to get those kids
- 16:50Speaker 2: in them sides like being like, let's go play video games.
- 16:53Speaker 2: That's the truth, that's what they like. Now. Having said that,
- 16:56Speaker 2: I did spend like an hour this evening playing Dressed
- 17:01Speaker 2: to Oppress on Roadblocks, which is the only game I
- 17:03Speaker 2: know how to play on Roadblocks with my nieces and nephews,
- 17:06Speaker 2: who really kill it that game.
- 17:10Speaker 1: So you know, Cole's like, can I go? Can I
- 17:14Speaker 1: go upstairs?
- 17:15Speaker 2: Now? This is awkward? Can I leave? And versus like, okay, fine.
- 17:18Speaker 2: So the next scene he's like arm wrestling colds at
- 17:21Speaker 2: the next morning, and Risa's like getting the kids ready,
- 17:25Speaker 2: and then you know, Edward asks if he can help Marissa,
- 17:29Speaker 2: and she's like upset, and she's like half upset that
- 17:34Speaker 2: he's like.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Scrolling on his phone, but also.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Upset that he's not like put me in coach, like
- 17:40Speaker 2: watching her being like what can I do? What can
- 17:42Speaker 2: I do? And that's weird because I think that, like
- 17:46Speaker 2: he just got there, you would have to observe someone's
- 17:50Speaker 2: like usual morning routine before you could insert yourself to
- 17:56Speaker 2: that way, especially someone who thinks everything you're gonna do
- 17:59Speaker 2: is bad or also like Marissa, this is your morning
- 18:03Speaker 2: routine that I'm assuming that like it's kind of done
- 18:05Speaker 2: like at a clockwork. He is like, okay, can I help.
- 18:08Speaker 2: She's like I already did that. I already did it,
- 18:10Speaker 2: so like okay, well, then guess what tell him to
- 18:13Speaker 2: do it in real time when you want it done
- 18:15Speaker 2: or in bed before it starts. Be like, hey, I
- 18:19Speaker 2: would love you to watch one time and see how
- 18:22Speaker 2: we do things, and then like tell me what you
- 18:24Speaker 2: could sort of like do for the morning rush, you know,
- 18:29Speaker 2: like I have to get the kids up, they shower
- 18:33Speaker 2: or I don't know, I just have to remind them
- 18:34Speaker 2: to do so. Then they have to get their backpacks
- 18:37Speaker 2: and to fill it with their homework, and I make
- 18:39Speaker 2: sure their water bottles have water in them, you know,
- 18:42Speaker 2: like and then whatnot.
- 18:43Speaker 1: But like there's also a difference in culture of like.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Go go go go go right now right now, Like
- 18:50Speaker 2: Marissa definitely has the patience of like a stockbroker, and
- 18:55Speaker 2: then in the eighties that has done like fourteen lines
- 18:58Speaker 2: of cocaine. You know, I think it's a different vibe
- 19:01Speaker 2: than the like other cultures that have like a siesta
- 19:05Speaker 2: or is like a little like okay, like he hasn't
- 19:07Speaker 2: gone his shoes on yet, versus like out the door
- 19:09Speaker 2: now He's like, let me get my shoes.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I said, get the slides.
- 19:15Speaker 2: It's funny because I realize, like I hate being rushed.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I hate being rushed, and I hate.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Being frazzled in the morning, like I really like to
- 19:29Speaker 2: like have my time with coffee and you know, like
- 19:31Speaker 2: hopefully have done like a certain amount of like prep
- 19:34Speaker 2: work the night before of like if I have to
- 19:37Speaker 2: have my shit together literally in some way like in
- 19:40Speaker 2: a bag or something. But it's like a nightmare. And
- 19:43Speaker 2: this is again part of me trying to be better
- 19:45Speaker 2: at executive functioning, which is what I talked about in
- 19:47Speaker 2: part one when I was talking about Katie. I hate
- 19:49Speaker 2: having the idea of like, oh my god, where'd I
- 19:51Speaker 2: put this? Where'd I have to get that? Oh?
- 19:52Speaker 1: I have to get that together? Like where's the keys?
- 19:54Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I have an Apple tag for
- 19:57Speaker 2: my keys, you know what I mean. The idea of
- 20:01Speaker 2: like not being able to find your keys when you
- 20:04Speaker 2: are either late or god bless about to be late
- 20:07Speaker 2: running out the door and where's your keys is like
- 20:09Speaker 2: the worst feeling of all time, Like part of my
- 20:12Speaker 2: own training is like I know, I have to give
- 20:14Speaker 2: myself I have to set an alarm for fifteen minutes
- 20:18Speaker 2: before I have to walk out the door. That is
- 20:21Speaker 2: just get your shit together. And again that's like mild
- 20:25Speaker 2: shit together. Like if I actually have to have like
- 20:27Speaker 2: let's just say clothes ready or scripts in a bag
- 20:30Speaker 2: or whatever I have to do, like that shit should
- 20:32Speaker 2: be done the night before so it's ready for me
- 20:35Speaker 2: so I can like easy, breezy blow through my morning,
- 20:38Speaker 2: you know, where things are comforting and easy. And then
- 20:41Speaker 2: also I have to give myself more time when I drive,
- 20:43Speaker 2: because sometimes it'd be like, well'll take you thirty minutes
- 20:45Speaker 2: to get there, and it's like, no, it doesn't. It
- 20:48Speaker 2: takes you five minutes again in the car and get out,
- 20:51Speaker 2: and then there's traffic and then you have to park,
- 20:53Speaker 2: so it actually takes you fifty minutes to get there, buddy, fifty,
- 20:57Speaker 2: especially in LA because we like cars and we hate
- 21:00Speaker 2: parking or having parking. It's like one of our American
- 21:06Speaker 2: toxic traits only in major cities, though there's a lot
- 21:09Speaker 2: of parts of America that has parking lots, not La anyway,
- 21:16Speaker 2: So Edward finally gets to the car, and he goes
- 21:19Speaker 2: to sit in the front seat, and guess what, Derek's there,
- 21:22Speaker 2: so he has to sit in the back seat. And
- 21:25Speaker 2: I think Marissa should have had the wherewithal to be
- 21:30Speaker 2: like when Derek sat in the front seat, like, hey, buddy,
- 21:33Speaker 2: get in the back seat. Edward's goes hit in the
- 21:34Speaker 2: front seat. And I think it's kind of fucked up
- 21:37Speaker 2: that she didn't. It's like she wanted to teach him
- 21:42Speaker 2: a lesson. I think subconsciously that all the kids, all
- 21:45Speaker 2: the babies in the back seat, because Derek is a kid,
- 21:52Speaker 2: and I think that at some point you have to
- 21:54Speaker 2: teach children respect of elders. I cannot imagine being a
- 22:04Speaker 2: kid and then thinking it'd be okay to take the
- 22:08Speaker 2: front seat if another adult was there, much less like
- 22:11Speaker 2: someone my dad was dating, any other adult, like if
- 22:14Speaker 2: my dad and his friend was driving, Like if there
- 22:18Speaker 2: was an adult present and we were all getting in
- 22:21Speaker 2: a car, my ass knew I was maybe in the
- 22:23Speaker 2: back seat, and if I try to get in the
- 22:27Speaker 2: front seat and my dad be like, let that person
- 22:29Speaker 2: sit there. Yeah, I think it's weird that Marissa wasn't like,
- 22:33Speaker 2: sit next to your brother, because if she'd like, why
- 22:38Speaker 2: why is Edward even having to come then? I don't know.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I really hated that for him. She's just constantly negative
- 22:50Speaker 2: and unfucking fun.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Even when he.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Was like playing with the boys, like trying to connect
- 22:56Speaker 2: with the boys by rough housing them, he was like, yeah,
- 22:59Speaker 2: I was like throwing them on your bed. She's like,
- 23:01Speaker 2: my room is not a playroom, bitch, Yes it is? Now,
- 23:04Speaker 2: yeah it is. Guess what, bitch, when you have kids,
- 23:09Speaker 2: the whole house is a fucking playroom. I don't even
- 23:11Speaker 2: have kids, Like that's crazy. Like I get Marissa being like,
- 23:16Speaker 2: this is my bathroom and that's the kids bathroom. I
- 23:18Speaker 2: don't get her being like, this is my bathroom and
- 23:20Speaker 2: everyone else in that one bathroom. Also, why this big
- 23:23Speaker 2: ass house only has two bathrooms, I'm not quite sure.
- 23:25Speaker 2: But at the same time, it's like, if you have kids,
- 23:28Speaker 2: then you better fucking allow those kids to be in
- 23:30Speaker 2: your ugly bed. We know what her bedroom looks like.
- 23:34Speaker 2: It's not a fucking museum. There's ugly, weird bedding and
- 23:39Speaker 2: all that brown wooden furniture that like isn't expensive. It
- 23:44Speaker 2: truly isn't. So I don't understand why you're so precious
- 23:48Speaker 2: about this ugly ass bedroom. It's hideous. There's no fucking
- 23:54Speaker 2: la laque chandeliers. This isn't fret bedding. It's not.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I can tell.
- 24:07Speaker 2: I really am, just like you're You're just being seen
- 24:09Speaker 2: you next Tuesday for no reason. By the way, it's
- 24:12Speaker 2: always lol. When I decide to like censor myself and
- 24:17Speaker 2: when I decide to let him fly right, there's no
- 24:19Speaker 2: rym or reason of that. And I understand that. So
- 24:23Speaker 2: she's like, we're gonna have a very busy day. I'm like,
- 24:27Speaker 2: what driving around and buying like one almond detta sprouts?
- 24:32Speaker 2: What is it gonna watch you do your stupid bar class.
- 24:34Speaker 2: I mean, she's really gretting on my nerves. She really is.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Grading. Then she's like, you know, I'm I need it.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I want to tell you something. I just don't know
- 24:47Speaker 2: how to say it. And we're like he's like, okay,
- 24:51Speaker 2: go ahead, and she's like, I just get really irritated
- 24:55Speaker 2: with your phone usage and I feel like you're not
- 24:57Speaker 2: present with me, and and I wanted to be like, oh,
- 25:01Speaker 2: it's because you're a fucking cunt. Sorry, see, like you're
- 25:05Speaker 2: a bitch. Sometimes I also feel real awkward in your
- 25:08Speaker 2: home A lot so I just fucking past time by
- 25:12Speaker 2: scrolling on the phone because I don't really know how
- 25:14Speaker 2: to do things, and you're just like, I know, if
- 25:16Speaker 2: I look up, it's going to be like your stern
- 25:18Speaker 2: ass face with a weird, strong eyeliner, just like being
- 25:21Speaker 2: mad at me. I want to see like scenes where
- 25:26Speaker 2: she facilitates like a game night where they're all playing
- 25:29Speaker 2: Uno and like having fun together, you know, like she
- 25:35Speaker 2: seems to be like hyper controlling about certain things and
- 25:44Speaker 2: then not realizing that she could easily facilitate them all
- 25:51Speaker 2: connecting and having fun in real time. And even when
- 25:56Speaker 2: he describes doing that by his own accord, she's pissy
- 26:00Speaker 2: about it. I can see why she's single. I mean,
- 26:06Speaker 2: you know, like I don't know many people that would
- 26:10Speaker 2: want to put up with this like energy. Her energy
- 26:12Speaker 2: is dark, like it just isn't like it's not open,
- 26:18Speaker 2: it's not warm. I wouldn't want to be around it.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I would couldn't wait to get away from it. Like
- 26:25Speaker 2: I don't think I would like the way that she
- 26:26Speaker 2: talks to her kids. I couldn't eat those hard boiled eggs.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You know, she just seems, i mean, absolutely insufferable. And
- 26:39Speaker 2: also I want to say, like, do you think it's
- 26:41Speaker 2: interesting that we haven't met any of her of her friends? Like,
- 26:46Speaker 2: who are her friends in Pennsylvania? Does she have friends?
- 26:49Speaker 2: Certainly we met her coworkers at Klinefeld's, where she doesn't
- 26:53Speaker 2: even work there anymore, so she doesn't see those people
- 26:55Speaker 2: anymore and they're so happy about it. But no, we haven't,
- 27:01Speaker 2: And I feel like, are we gonna see like her
- 27:03Speaker 2: bar coworkers b a r R workout bar. I don't know.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Does she just have a bunch of other like uppity,
- 27:12Speaker 2: weird white rich blondies that like live in Pennsylvania. I'm
- 27:17Speaker 2: assuming that when she does that weird power walking that
- 27:20Speaker 2: she does it with someone. Sometimes maybe she doesn't, though
- 27:24Speaker 2: maybe she's just like time for my hawk girl walk.
- 27:26Speaker 2: She just like too toots around. Okay, So I also
- 27:31Speaker 2: want to say that she has horrible tattoos. She has
- 27:34Speaker 2: three weird tattoos on her shoulder. I think that there's
- 27:40Speaker 2: a part of her like that likes to be rebellious
- 27:43Speaker 2: against her rich parents by like dating working classmen. And
- 27:48Speaker 2: I think that the tattoo is like her version of
- 27:50Speaker 2: being like, I'm a badass bitch. Her personality just isn't
- 27:57Speaker 2: for me, and I just can't get over how badly
- 28:03Speaker 2: decorated her home is, especially because she does dress well. Okay, okay,
- 28:12Speaker 2: let's talk about Mino and Debbie. Now, obviously I could
- 28:18Speaker 2: not deal with the fact that he yelled at her
- 28:20Speaker 2: about not taking a picture and that she decided to
- 28:23Speaker 2: drop all that and be like where's my ring? Like
- 28:25Speaker 2: that was like a maddening scene. So and at that
- 28:31Speaker 2: point I said that I had washed my hands of her.
- 28:34Speaker 2: But I have seen the light, and so is she.
- 28:39Speaker 2: And she got my faith back in her and I'm
- 28:43Speaker 2: really happy about it. And also we got her slutty
- 28:45Speaker 2: friend back, which is the best part. It is the
- 28:48Speaker 2: best part. I say slutty with love. You know I'm
- 28:51Speaker 2: talking about it. Okay, So we pick up and she's
- 28:54Speaker 2: making a chore list. I don't why I can't say that,
- 28:57Speaker 2: well chore list and she's like, okay, Devin does these chores.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Debbie does these chores, and Media is gonna do these chores.
- 29:05Speaker 2: And he's like, you're very sweet. She's like, okay, Meto,
- 29:10Speaker 2: can you do the dishes? He's like no, I can't.
- 29:13Speaker 2: My hands hurt. Your hands hurt. What the fuck's wrong
- 29:19Speaker 2: with your hands. Are you talking about your hands hurt?
- 29:22Speaker 2: You have eczema?
- 29:23Speaker 1: You can wear gloves. She's like, okay, well will you
- 29:29Speaker 1: take out the trash.
- 29:30Speaker 2: He's like lah no. He's like in Egypt, the woman
- 29:36Speaker 2: does it. The woman does everything. They cook, they clean,
- 29:38Speaker 2: they suck the penis. They never talk. They wash the clothes,
- 29:42Speaker 2: they wash the shut fans, they wash the shitty shanthans,
- 29:45Speaker 2: the stains out of the shanthans. They go to see
- 29:48Speaker 2: the place, They laugh at me, They tell me how
- 29:50Speaker 2: great I am. They go to bed the next day,
- 29:55Speaker 2: do it all over again. You're like, oh my god.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Now the producers gave us a gift. And the gift
- 30:03Speaker 2: was the producers know we would want to see him
- 30:07Speaker 2: do his thing, and his thing, besides being a fucking asshole,
- 30:11Speaker 2: is act. So he's like, oh, Debbie, uh, it's gonna
- 30:18Speaker 2: let me go to acting class, which is funny because
- 30:20Speaker 2: she never.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Really talks about it.
- 30:21Speaker 2: And then he's like, I found an acting coach to Jimmy,
- 30:26Speaker 2: and he's like, because in America, my number one priority
- 30:30Speaker 2: is not Debbie acting. And so we get him going
- 30:36Speaker 2: to an acting class. You know, I'm so happy about it.
- 30:39Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my god, I can't wait. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 30:41Speaker 2: it's in like a gymnasium or something. And it's funny
- 30:44Speaker 2: because the way it starts, you know, and I'm astaying
- 30:46Speaker 2: that because sometimes acting classes happen in a theater, like
- 30:50Speaker 2: you know, like a black box theater at least, or
- 30:52Speaker 2: like you know, a little baby theater where people are
- 30:54Speaker 2: sitting in the front rows, and you know, like, but no,
- 30:57Speaker 2: it surely is like whatever, a gymnasium. And then they
- 31:00Speaker 2: sit around in a circle that almost looks like an
- 31:02Speaker 2: AA meeting or like a support group lol.
- 31:05Speaker 1: And they introduced themselves. He's like, my name is Mieto.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I don't know how he says it.
- 31:12Speaker 2: And he's like, I studied at Academy in Egypt and
- 31:16Speaker 2: I've been in the twenty films in series.
- 31:19Speaker 1: And they're like, oh great.
- 31:21Speaker 2: And he's like and I want to be a big
- 31:23Speaker 2: Hollywood star and Jimmy's like, well we all do, buddy, yeah, no, shit, yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 2: we would all would like that. That's like being like
- 31:32Speaker 2: and I want to be a millionaire. Like yep, everyone
- 31:35Speaker 2: kind of wants that thing. Everyone wants to be a millionaire,
- 31:39Speaker 2: have a beautiful family and a beautiful home and like
- 31:41Speaker 2: a fulfilling career. It's like in a healthy life. That's
- 31:45Speaker 2: kind of what they want everyone. So it's like not
- 31:47Speaker 2: a surprise, he keeps saying, in Hollywood, and I want
- 31:51Speaker 2: them to be like, you're four thousand miles away. Jimmy's like,
- 31:57Speaker 2: and I'll tell you it's slim chances. I want to
- 32:01Speaker 2: know what Jimmy's credits are. I didn't look it up.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I'm matt I could have. I feel like he's been
- 32:08Speaker 2: in one or two things, like twenty years ago. I
- 32:10Speaker 2: don't know if he's more a theatery guy, but godless,
- 32:13Speaker 2: maybe he was like in the Actors Actors Theater of Louisville,
- 32:18Speaker 2: that kind of thing. I'm not quite sure.
- 32:19Speaker 1: So he's like the thing.
- 32:20Speaker 2: This is what Jimmy says that to be an actor,
- 32:23Speaker 2: it takes ability corporate right, you can't talk be able
- 32:27Speaker 2: to talk Chris ability. That's the ability to talk cooperation
- 32:32Speaker 2: and opportunity. And the cooperation part, I guess is interesting
- 32:37Speaker 2: to me. Yeah, I mean, yeah, you have to have.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Like the ability to work with others.
- 32:42Speaker 2: But like most I mean maybe there's yeah, a lot
- 32:46Speaker 2: of jobs you have to like talk to other people
- 32:48Speaker 2: and like collaborate and stuff like that, and I guess, yeah,
- 32:51Speaker 2: acting is too. It's just one of the things I
- 32:53Speaker 2: would chiefly say. But I think it was like almost
- 32:55Speaker 2: like of course, but whatever. So they do this parent
- 32:58Speaker 2: exercise where I guess Jimmy just gives them all different scripts,
- 33:03Speaker 2: and the scripts are wildly different. I don't know if
- 33:08Speaker 2: it's just words on a page. At some point he
- 33:10Speaker 2: makes it seem like he wrote the words himself, like
- 33:13Speaker 2: literally with his handwriting and not like typed up. I
- 33:17Speaker 2: don't know why he wouldn't just copy like plays or whatever.
- 33:22Speaker 2: And then he's like, and you use your own experience,
- 33:25Speaker 2: like you get to you talk to someone in your life,
- 33:29Speaker 2: and you use the emotion of what you're doing, and
- 33:32Speaker 2: you just say the words on the page and it's
- 33:34Speaker 2: not going to make sense.
- 33:36Speaker 1: So this is okay.
- 33:41Speaker 2: There is like different practices of different acting techniques, and
- 33:45Speaker 2: there's always like some wee not always, but there's like
- 33:48Speaker 2: often like in the Stella Adler or Santosovsky you know
- 33:51Speaker 2: world or the Udahagan worlds, like a substitution that you
- 33:54Speaker 2: do and like the way that you do it is
- 33:57Speaker 2: like how much of your own shit you use in
- 34:01Speaker 2: an acting realm as opposed to the imagination of the
- 34:07Speaker 2: character's experience, you know. And there used to be like
- 34:11Speaker 2: the trope of being like in a shitty acting class,
- 34:15Speaker 2: or some acting teacher would suddenly take it upon themselves
- 34:18Speaker 2: to be like a fucking therapist and be like, like
- 34:21Speaker 2: maybe they knew one of their students like had a
- 34:24Speaker 2: shitty relationship with their mom, would be like, use your
- 34:27Speaker 2: shitty relationship with your mom in the scene, and then
- 34:29Speaker 2: the person would just cry talking, you know, thinking about
- 34:32Speaker 2: the trauma they had as a kid, and then like
- 34:35Speaker 2: make a performance that was really highly emotional, and you
- 34:37Speaker 2: would just have to like break yourself down and go
- 34:40Speaker 2: through like such turmoil just to do a fucking scene
- 34:42Speaker 2: in class.
- 34:43Speaker 1: I personally, if you can't tell hate.
- 34:45Speaker 2: That, because I think it's like doesn't make I mean,
- 34:50Speaker 2: you would have as an actor.
- 34:52Speaker 1: You would have had to have so much therapy, I
- 34:55Speaker 1: guess in order to like use this technique and not
- 34:57Speaker 1: just like be a fucking decrepit person at the end
- 34:59Speaker 1: of the just like thinking about all of your trauma.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I think it's better to sort of understand a theme
- 35:08Speaker 1: or a place or an emotion or how you felt
- 35:12Speaker 1: in a situation. That was like maybe reminiscent of something,
- 35:16Speaker 1: and then like being able to empathetically use what you
- 35:21Speaker 1: know and then what you can imagine to put yourself
- 35:24Speaker 1: in a wholly different frame of mind that is aligned
- 35:28Speaker 1: with what the character that the person who wrote the
- 35:33Speaker 1: play or film made to be. What's happening truthfully, you
- 35:38Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like it's weird to like ask
- 35:43Speaker 1: So I think it's weird to ask someone to use
- 35:45Speaker 1: their own shit that much, like, but I think that
- 35:49Speaker 1: there's different ways to do this, okay. And I also
- 35:52Speaker 1: think if you're going to do that, you also have
- 35:56Speaker 1: to have a caveat to like not use something that's
- 35:58Speaker 1: going to ruin them psych a lot. So we see
- 36:03Speaker 1: wht of people do it.
- 36:04Speaker 2: We see this one woman who has to like literally
- 36:06Speaker 2: read what looks like the Gettysburg address, so who knows
- 36:10Speaker 2: what she was thinking.
- 36:11Speaker 1: In her mind, Like he left me for another woman
- 36:16Speaker 1: forescore and seven years ago.
- 36:19Speaker 3: You're like, oh my gosh, this is this is the
- 36:26Speaker 3: part of like being an actor that I hate because
- 36:27Speaker 3: I feel like this looks so dumb, Like this is
- 36:30Speaker 3: so stupid.
- 36:31Speaker 2: What a stupid exercise that's like the thing like that
- 36:35Speaker 2: would be on like Barry or that, like you know
- 36:38Speaker 2: Bill Haters show, like it's laughable. It's so it's like absurd, Okay,
- 36:44Speaker 2: so I think it's I think it's funny god blass.
- 36:46Speaker 2: So when she said four score, I was like, you
- 36:50Speaker 2: gave her that, that's what the words you gave her?
- 36:53Speaker 2: Oh my.
- 36:57Speaker 1: There are exercises where you're given like.
- 37:04Speaker 2: A kind of script that is just fucking vague, So
- 37:07Speaker 2: it'll be like person A and person B and it'll
- 37:10Speaker 2: be like.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Where have you been out? Oh I found your phone?
- 37:19Speaker 1: You did?
- 37:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and I went through it. Oh. Like there are
- 37:24Speaker 2: scripts like that where you can try them in different ways.
- 37:28Speaker 2: You know. The way I read it was like, oh no,
- 37:31Speaker 2: what's happening.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You could also be like you're back. Yeah, I found
- 37:36Speaker 1: your phone. Oh you know, like great, you found my phone.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I went through it. Yeah, none in there. You know,
- 37:44Speaker 2: like you could do it different ways, Like it's interesting.
- 37:45Speaker 2: I think more to do like that kind of like
- 37:47Speaker 2: vague script and being able to showcase different feelings of
- 37:53Speaker 2: it depending on what you're doing. Are you accusing someone,
- 37:56Speaker 2: are you trying to get someone to confess? Are you
- 37:58Speaker 2: trying to get someone to realize that you are a
- 38:03Speaker 2: formidable roommate that is pulling their weight, you know, I
- 38:07Speaker 2: don't know and interesting so gobleas. So it's time for Meto, right,
- 38:14Speaker 2: and Meto goes up there and he's like, can I
- 38:19Speaker 2: do something different?
- 38:22Speaker 1: Jimmy's like what, and then Meto says, I don't know?
- 38:31Speaker 1: Then no?
- 38:33Speaker 2: Then no, what the fuck are you talking about? Can
- 38:37Speaker 2: you do something different? What? I don't know?
- 38:40Speaker 1: What even made you say that?
- 38:41Speaker 2: Then?
- 38:42Speaker 1: What you're obviously thinking of something? And what are you
- 38:44Speaker 1: gonna do? Sing it?
- 38:45Speaker 2: What do you like? I would love to know what
- 38:47Speaker 2: Meto actually wanted to do. I'm assuming that He's like,
- 38:50Speaker 2: can I just do a monologue? Can I improv?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Thankfully?
- 38:57Speaker 2: Jimmy's like, nobody want you to stick to the exercise
- 38:59Speaker 2: we're all doing first timer. So the Meto obviously chooses
- 39:04Speaker 2: Debbie and it feels like he doesn't use the words
- 39:09Speaker 2: on the script. Now, Jimmy tries to give himself grace
- 39:12Speaker 2: by being like he just couldn't read my writing. But
- 39:13Speaker 2: Meto just didn't read it. He was like, why won't
- 39:16Speaker 2: you support me in my acting dream? And the poor
- 39:21Speaker 2: person that has to be pair with him and is like, okay,
- 39:28Speaker 2: gape whatever.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And then.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Jimmy's like, well, I give him a C plus, which
- 39:38Speaker 2: is shady. It's a shady gray. Also he's like, yeah,
- 39:43Speaker 2: you know, uh, he has emotional availability and it's because,
- 39:50Speaker 2: like you know, he teared up or whatever. But the
- 39:54Speaker 2: ability to like create tears in your eyes isn't emotional
- 40:01Speaker 2: availability all the time. It could literally be someone who
- 40:04Speaker 2: is like a narcissist and then can manipulate. I hate this.
- 40:10Speaker 2: I'm like so happy the scene's happening, but I like,
- 40:13Speaker 2: I'm like no, I also am like I kind of
- 40:18Speaker 2: wish that I could also see Meto act in something
- 40:22Speaker 2: that he is taking very seriously, in things that he's
- 40:25Speaker 2: really good at, Like it would have been hilarious to
- 40:28Speaker 2: watch him do like Waiting for Godot like a scene,
- 40:32Speaker 2: like an actual scene from a play. So then they
- 40:35Speaker 2: have like a private talk where Jimmy's like, well, you know,
- 40:40Speaker 2: I know you want to go to Hollywood. Are you
- 40:42Speaker 2: thinking about getting a new job, a different job? And
- 40:46Speaker 2: he's like no, and he's like, well, in Egypt, did
- 40:48Speaker 2: you have any other jobs? Now we know the answers, yes,
- 40:51Speaker 2: it was a kissing touring guide. So he's like, uh no,
- 40:54Speaker 2: but in La I don't want another job. I want
- 40:58Speaker 2: to be able to focus, and I want that'd be
- 41:00Speaker 2: too pay for everything and also do all of the
- 41:03Speaker 2: chores and also take pictures of me in video of
- 41:07Speaker 2: me whenever I ask her to do so. He is
- 41:15Speaker 2: so maniacally egotistical when he also is so hideously ugly, ugly, weird, untalented,
- 41:27Speaker 2: and I mean, you can't be around him a fuckingnoxious.
- 41:31Speaker 1: There's like an Arabic it's not Egyptian.
- 41:36Speaker 2: I think it's like maybe Lebanese, so I don't you know,
- 41:38Speaker 2: there's like a phrase.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Dumb lukiel or dumb moutheel or something like that.
- 41:42Speaker 2: My Gama used to say it, and basically just means
- 41:45Speaker 2: like someone whose blood is thick, and it's like obnoxious,
- 41:49Speaker 2: like someone who you know, like whose blood is I
- 41:52Speaker 2: don't know, obviously, it's like expressive blood is thick, and
- 41:55Speaker 2: he is that like he makes my blood boil, you know,
- 41:59Speaker 2: like I cannot I truly cannot stand him.
- 42:02Speaker 1: He is cringe fucking city. So next scene.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Is that him and Debbie are dressed in Egyptian garb.
- 42:14Speaker 2: When I first see.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Them, I'm like, you look like people in a hieroglyphic.
- 42:19Speaker 2: It's obvious halloween material, you know, where it was like
- 42:23Speaker 2: two dollars, you know, like her crown is just made
- 42:26Speaker 2: from paper. It was like a Burger King crown you
- 42:29Speaker 2: would get like from a children's meal, and you know that,
- 42:33Speaker 2: like the material is like one it's like point five ply,
- 42:38Speaker 2: you know, made from plastic, Like those costumes are not
- 42:42Speaker 2: going to ever bioto grain. And it's Halloween and it's
- 42:47Speaker 2: his first Halloween. And then we realize that he's supposed
- 42:51Speaker 2: to be one of the last pharaohs, and she thinks
- 42:53Speaker 2: that she's Cleopatra. So I hate this for every reason possible.
- 42:57Speaker 2: But also one reason why I hate this is because, uh,
- 43:02Speaker 2: I want to be like girl. If you're supposed to
- 43:05Speaker 2: be Cleopatra, then you sit your ass down of that
- 43:07Speaker 2: vanity and you better fucking give yourself a cat I
- 43:12Speaker 2: a hard ass cat ee. You better give yourself some
- 43:15Speaker 2: fucking eyeliner. And she doesn't. She doesn't. I was living okay.
- 43:24Speaker 2: So she and him are gonna go to a haunted
- 43:29Speaker 2: house and she is going to introduce him to her friends.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Now on the way there, she asks if he is nervous,
- 43:39Speaker 2: and he's like no, and this upsets her because she
- 43:43Speaker 2: wants him to care and almost be nervous that he's
- 43:47Speaker 2: going to meet her friends because she wants him to
- 43:49Speaker 2: like want to make a good impression and stuff. And
- 43:52Speaker 2: she's nervous because she knows that he's a fucking asshole
- 43:56Speaker 2: and she has cool friends. Okay. So he's like, oh,
- 44:00Speaker 2: I'm not nervous. They don't like me, of fine, but fine,
- 44:04Speaker 2: that's fine with me. And she's like, that's not the
- 44:06Speaker 2: answer I wanted you to give. And so she starts
- 44:09Speaker 2: to be like, he's moody af He's just like, you
- 44:12Speaker 2: don't know what kind of like person or what mood
- 44:14Speaker 2: he's going to be in.
- 44:15Speaker 1: And he's like, you know, if you have friends don't
- 44:17Speaker 1: like me, if they're weird or mean, I just leave.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I go back to Egypt.
- 44:21Speaker 2: So she understands that he keeps threatening this like there's
- 44:25Speaker 2: no part of him that wants to make anything work.
- 44:28Speaker 2: He wants to like literally be like, if it's not
- 44:30Speaker 2: my way, I go on the highway back to Egypt.
- 44:33Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Okay. So she is getting increasingly more anxious as she
- 44:39Speaker 2: realizes what a shitty idea this is, but also what
- 44:42Speaker 2: a mistake she's made. They go to the haunted house
- 44:46Speaker 2: and her friends meet up, and we see that her
- 44:48Speaker 2: friends are the exact friends we want to see, honey,
- 44:51Speaker 2: you know it's it's her friend Astra, and you know
- 44:56Speaker 2: who Astra is fucking at the time, this guy named Derek.
- 44:59Speaker 2: And and then her other friend Laura, and Laura's fucking
- 45:02Speaker 2: this guy named Jeff. Now Laura comes as Dottie from
- 45:07Speaker 2: or whatever, someone from leg of their own, someone who's
- 45:09Speaker 2: a peach, and she brought Jeff, who looks like that
- 45:12Speaker 2: Brett Kreischer comic. You know, none of the men dressed up,
- 45:17Speaker 2: which makes you know, being in this cheap ass pharaoh
- 45:20Speaker 2: outfit even funnier.
- 45:22Speaker 1: So Debut just keeps being like, I don't like haunted
- 45:25Speaker 1: haunted houses.
- 45:26Speaker 2: It's scary. And It's be like, well, bitch, you probably
- 45:28Speaker 2: picked this, okay, and he's like, I think that are acting.
- 45:30Speaker 1: It's fine.
- 45:31Speaker 2: So they go on this like haunted mansion tour and
- 45:34Speaker 2: he is eating it's eating it up. Like at one
- 45:37Speaker 2: point they go into a scene and it's someone like
- 45:41Speaker 2: doing surgery and taking out guts.
- 45:43Speaker 1: He's like, whoa, it's amazing.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Then like literally he's like walking through the door and
- 45:49Speaker 2: someone like jumps through the door and tries to scare him,
- 45:52Speaker 2: and he has no fucking reaction. He's like her friends
- 45:59Speaker 2: start to be a little funny and are like he's
- 46:03Speaker 2: he's loving this. He's gonna work here next year, and
- 46:05Speaker 2: that low Ki is shady, but he doesn't even get
- 46:08Speaker 2: that as shady.
- 46:09Speaker 1: I wish you'd be like.
- 46:10Speaker 2: No, I'd be in Hollywood movie next year, like nobody.
- 46:14Speaker 2: You couldn't even get a job at like Halloween whoreor nights.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I think it'd be I mean, I don't know. So
- 46:26Speaker 2: after the Haunted House, you know, and oh I forgot
- 46:31Speaker 2: this other part when through in the car, like he's
- 46:36Speaker 2: before he's the meets the friends, She's like, well, you know,
- 46:39Speaker 2: I want you my friends and I want you to care.
- 46:41Speaker 2: It'll be fun meeting Lauren, asked Draff, and he does
- 46:44Speaker 2: like the Arabic tic, which is the that's like a
- 46:50Speaker 2: whole last thing. I when I had to do a monologue,
- 46:54Speaker 2: I did a monologue like an Arabic grandmother monologue in
- 46:58Speaker 2: my last running lack Life. And I'm still gonna do
- 47:00Speaker 2: it again. So don't steal with me. It's fine if
- 47:02Speaker 2: you do. But yeah, it's one of the things they do.
- 47:05Speaker 2: They do again, I don't know the little it's like
- 47:15Speaker 2: the tick is like a whatever or like an okay,
- 47:24Speaker 2: it's not really a great thing. Like the tick is
- 47:28Speaker 2: a little always mildly judgmental. Oh is that what you're wearing?
- 47:35Speaker 2: I thought you would like to dress up? You know,
- 47:37Speaker 2: it's like not what I would do. Like, yeah, it's
- 47:40Speaker 2: a very interesting Arabic tick, I guess, or like weird
- 47:46Speaker 2: expressive thing. How many other cultures do that? If you like,
- 47:52Speaker 2: no or whatever, if you like you know what I'm
- 47:54Speaker 2: talking about. I know that I'm in a microphone and
- 47:56Speaker 2: I keep making that noise. But it's so very fucking specific. Okay,
- 48:00Speaker 2: So anyway, out of the haunted house, you know, they
- 48:06Speaker 2: decide to go get some drinks after her, and like
- 48:09Speaker 2: the boys bounce, are like, we don't want to deal
- 48:10Speaker 2: with this, and so leading their own girl Laura ends
- 48:15Speaker 2: up getting in the car with Meato and Debbie and
- 48:18Speaker 2: she sits in the backseat and Nido doesn't talk the
- 48:22Speaker 2: entire time and it's weird and the girls comment on it,
- 48:25Speaker 2: are like, he's he's weird, he's not talking. We're not happy.
- 48:30Speaker 2: They can pick up that he doesn't care about being
- 48:34Speaker 2: friendly with them, asking them one question about themselves. He's
- 48:39Speaker 2: a full fucking narcissist, Like it's crazy not to ask
- 48:43Speaker 2: people questions like you're these are your friends of like
- 48:46Speaker 2: your maybe wife? You would be like hey, like is
- 48:51Speaker 2: this what you usually guys do for Halloween?
- 48:53Speaker 1: Or what do you do for a job?
- 48:56Speaker 2: Or what's the last play you saw? I mean, who
- 48:58Speaker 2: knows what your favorite movie is? You know, like, oh,
- 49:00Speaker 2: bless none of it. Like they're in the car and
- 49:03Speaker 2: this motherfucker gets out his phone and starts scrolling through
- 49:05Speaker 2: fucking TikTok and Instagram with his volume up, so we
- 49:10Speaker 2: have to hear like, you know, Arabic music after Arabic music,
- 49:12Speaker 2: and all the reels and the women are like, oh god,
- 49:16Speaker 2: it's some stifling stuffy in this car was like seventy
- 49:20Speaker 2: nine degrees. He's like so he at one point cracks
- 49:25Speaker 2: all his knuckles, like it's almost like aggressive behavior. It's
- 49:31Speaker 2: like passive aggressive, but like emphasis on the aggressively awkward behavior,
- 49:37Speaker 2: and it's not like awkward, like he doesn't know what
- 49:39Speaker 2: to say. He just is seeped in like a certain
- 49:43Speaker 2: amount of I don't give a fuck about these people,
- 49:46Speaker 2: and I don't, and I think I'm better than them,
- 49:48Speaker 2: and I don't want to even associate with them. But
- 49:51Speaker 2: I also like to think that there's a part of
- 49:53Speaker 2: it that is rageful and angry because he is so
- 49:58Speaker 2: deeply insecure, Like this person has to have insecurity issues
- 50:05Speaker 2: for him to be so shitty, Like I can't imagine
- 50:07Speaker 2: he really thinks he's that great, you know, sitting in
- 50:10Speaker 2: like a cheap Pharaoh costume. I don't know if he's
- 50:14Speaker 2: just like I can't believe I have to be with
- 50:16Speaker 2: this old woman, but she will bring me to America,
- 50:20Speaker 2: give me a green card, and you know, hopefully pay
- 50:22Speaker 2: for me to move to la and then pay for
- 50:24Speaker 2: me the whole time while I'm living there. And so
- 50:26Speaker 2: I have to like suffer through meeting her stupid friends
- 50:29Speaker 2: who her friends are stupid. I'm just saying it like
- 50:31Speaker 2: in his voice, like his her friends are awesome. So
- 50:33Speaker 2: then they go to the dive bar called the Poorhouse,
- 50:37Speaker 2: and Debbie's like, yeah, he just converts to a new personality,
- 50:41Speaker 2: and I'm like embarrassed by him.
- 50:44Speaker 1: So when they get to the bar.
- 50:49Speaker 2: He's like, uh, go inside, they'll be there in a second,
- 50:53Speaker 2: and she realizes like he is disgusting, so she gets
- 50:57Speaker 2: out and then like, obviously her friends are gonna be like,
- 51:02Speaker 2: what's happening? And she knows that Laura sat in the
- 51:04Speaker 2: car as he didn't say a fucking word. So she
- 51:07Speaker 2: gets back in the car and she's just beside herself.
- 51:09Speaker 2: She starts crying, and he doesn't take that well obviously,
- 51:13Speaker 2: He's like, why are you what are you frustrated all
- 51:16Speaker 2: the time? You know, like what's wrong? And then he's like,
- 51:19Speaker 2: if you want to take uber to go home, and
- 51:21Speaker 2: she's like, do it. And it felt like he was
- 51:25Speaker 2: so used to thinking that he could make an ultimatum
- 51:28Speaker 2: and go back to Egypt and have whatever he wanted
- 51:31Speaker 2: actually happened that he didn't think that she would be
- 51:36Speaker 2: like fucking get out. Leave. He's like, fun, I fly
- 51:41Speaker 2: back to Egypt. Then he says, you buy me a ticket.
- 51:47Speaker 2: I wanted to be I mean, here's the thing, this
- 51:49Speaker 2: is what shitty about this, because of course all of
- 51:51Speaker 2: a sudden be like, bitch, you buy your own fucking ticket.
- 51:54Speaker 2: But then I realized for her to do the whole
- 51:56Speaker 2: k one thing, she would have to pay for him
- 51:58Speaker 2: to go back. Because I think, like that's the whole thing.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Like she like he's on her credit, not credit, but
- 52:05Speaker 2: like she has to assume financial responsibility of him. She's like,
- 52:11Speaker 2: get the ticket right now on your phone, get it.
- 52:13Speaker 2: I want you out. She can't stand one more moment
- 52:17Speaker 2: with him.
- 52:17Speaker 1: She breaks the fourth wall hahaha, acting term. She's like, producers, producers,
- 52:22Speaker 1: I can't.
- 52:23Speaker 2: I'm done with him. No, I'm literally done with him.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Get him in my car. I don't know what you're
- 52:26Speaker 2: gonna fucking do. Put him up in a hotel room.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I cannot look at his face and never want to
- 52:29Speaker 2: see him again. I'll pay for the ticket, fine, get
- 52:32Speaker 2: him the fuck out of my fucking face. And then
- 52:36Speaker 2: he like starts yelling at her. And then Astra, who
- 52:40Speaker 2: is our best friend, our slutty best friend that we love,
- 52:43Speaker 2: that we knew the minute that we saw her. We
- 52:45Speaker 2: were like, we want more of her, and she gave
- 52:47Speaker 2: us everything we would want. She gave us everything. So
- 52:54Speaker 2: she hears Medo being an asshole, and she comes over
- 52:58Speaker 2: and she's like, you will not yell at my fucking friend.
- 53:00Speaker 2: He's like, you don't understand, and then he's yelling at
- 53:05Speaker 2: Astra and she's like, you're not gonna fucking talk to
- 53:08Speaker 2: me like that. That's not how you treat women in America,
- 53:12Speaker 2: you motherfucker.
- 53:15Speaker 1: And then he like gets close up to her and
- 53:18Speaker 1: she's like, what do you want to get in my face?
- 53:20Speaker 1: We're gonna fucking do are you gonna try and fucking
- 53:22Speaker 1: hit me on national television?
- 53:25Speaker 2: Okay? I hate this for a lot of reasons. A
- 53:28Speaker 2: because I hate Mito, but I also don't.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Like the idea.
- 53:33Speaker 2: That we are just gonna sort of like drill home
- 53:40Speaker 2: a certain like propensity that all Arabic men don't respect women,
- 53:46Speaker 2: and so only in America are women respected, but in
- 53:49Speaker 2: other countries they're not because Mido is an asshole and
- 53:54Speaker 2: also gets fucked in the asshole and that's who he is,
- 53:59Speaker 2: no matter what. In certainly, there are countries and there
- 54:03Speaker 2: are like, you know, sex of fundamentalist, conservative, misogynistic people
- 54:09Speaker 2: that treat women horribly, but there are assholes in America
- 54:14Speaker 2: that treat women horribly, and there are lovely Arabic men
- 54:18Speaker 2: that you know, respect women. So just like a, you know,
- 54:23Speaker 2: I have to like say that kind of stuff because I,
- 54:25Speaker 2: you know, he is unfortunately like such a fucking textbook
- 54:31Speaker 2: person that's like in Egypt, the woman take out the rash.
- 54:34Speaker 2: You know he he perpetuated that kind of like stereotypicalness,
- 54:39Speaker 2: and what makes that also maddening. It's like, well, then
- 54:43Speaker 2: in Egypt, I'm assuming the men pay for everything, right,
- 54:47Speaker 2: Like the men also pay for all the things that
- 54:48Speaker 2: they bring the whole money. That's not anything you have
- 54:51Speaker 2: fucking done. So how are you gonna be like you
- 54:53Speaker 2: do this and I don't have to do what I
- 54:55Speaker 2: have to do, Like you would have to be paying
- 54:58Speaker 2: for everything for you to even have one leg to
- 55:00Speaker 2: stand on. But you don't have a leg to stand
- 55:02Speaker 2: on even though you have two fucking small as skinny
- 55:04Speaker 2: ass legs and tight ass pants. I truly hate him
- 55:09Speaker 2: on Instagram, like I think he had like a sister
- 55:12Speaker 2: or someone be like on his Instagram commenting.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Like we know who the real you is. We know
- 55:18Speaker 1: you are playing a part.
- 55:19Speaker 2: And it's like watching him in this you know he's
- 55:22Speaker 2: not acting, you know that's his assholeness, Like that's who
- 55:27Speaker 2: he really is. I think that when I went back
- 55:33Speaker 2: and said, you know, he's insecure, I think that he
- 55:35Speaker 2: deeply is uncomfortable with his sexuality and hates a lot
- 55:42Speaker 2: of things that are keeping him from his true passion,
- 55:46Speaker 2: which is like dick, he wants to ride the d
- 55:51Speaker 2: truly and other things, you know, Like I think that
- 55:55Speaker 2: he is so truly gross, and I want to like
- 56:00Speaker 2: buy Astra a drink. Like my dream would be to
- 56:04Speaker 2: have him drink with Astra and just be like, thank you,
- 56:08Speaker 2: thank you for being the only rational person on none
- 56:12Speaker 2: of a fiance. Thank you for standing up for your friend. Also,
- 56:17Speaker 2: thank you for knowing that he was weird. Also thank
- 56:20Speaker 2: you for being funny and normal. I love her, Oh
- 56:26Speaker 2: my god, I can't wait to see what happens, and
- 56:28Speaker 2: it's I can't Like I want her to just like
- 56:34Speaker 2: drop him off at the airport. No, I want her
- 56:36Speaker 2: to like get him an uber to the airport, like
- 56:38Speaker 2: six hours in advance, because she doesn't want him in
- 56:40Speaker 2: the home. Get him to Louis Armstrong Airport as soon
- 56:45Speaker 2: as fucking possible, get him out, And I want her
- 56:49Speaker 2: to buy whatever's less than an economy class. I want
- 56:52Speaker 2: him to be having to sit on his own luggage,
- 56:55Speaker 2: surrounded by crying babies and have like six layovers. Wouldn't
- 57:01Speaker 2: that be so great? I would love that. I also
- 57:06Speaker 2: low key like want right as he's leaving to be like,
- 57:11Speaker 2: by the way, bitch, my brothers had a Warner Brother Studios,
- 57:15Speaker 2: and I could have made you a star if I
- 57:17Speaker 2: wanted to, But you're not, you know, I don't know.
- 57:22Speaker 2: That's like my own We're gonna actually blacklist you from
- 57:25Speaker 2: all of Hollywood, which he should be. All right, my loves,
- 57:32Speaker 2: that's the end of the episode. Thank you so much
- 57:33Speaker 2: for hearing my angry thoughts. But I hopefully sort of
- 57:39Speaker 2: you know, riled up in you a certain amount of
- 57:43Speaker 2: like validation that this person is absolute shit. And we
- 57:48Speaker 2: all got to see him being made a fool in
- 57:50Speaker 2: his shitty ass, stupid ass costume. And yeah, wie, you
- 57:57Speaker 2: just got a lot of fucking lesson, which is to
- 58:01Speaker 2: get a new job or you don't upsell insurance all
- 58:03Speaker 2: the goddamn time, and learn about yourself and why you
- 58:06Speaker 2: have settled for bullshit and why you don't understand the
- 58:09Speaker 2: difference between someone loving you and someone just wanting to
- 58:12Speaker 2: use you. Let's find out. Let's find out. Let's see
- 58:17Speaker 2: if we can like remedy this before, you know, before
- 58:20Speaker 2: our next relationship. Because the thing about Debbie is sure
- 58:23Speaker 2: she's a seasoned woman, but Debbie is hot. She has
- 58:27Speaker 2: great hair, you know, I like, she has a hot
- 58:30Speaker 2: ass body. She has a brand new two bedroom home.
- 58:33Speaker 2: She has a bunch of Louis Vatons, she has a
- 58:35Speaker 2: bunch of mystery do you or perfume? So let's get
- 58:38Speaker 2: back out there. But she has to do some fucking work,
- 58:41Speaker 2: you know, on herself. And also I think, like, stop
- 58:47Speaker 2: trying to use people to hit your sales, you know, extras,
- 58:53Speaker 2: and hopefully people will stop using you for whatever men
- 58:58Speaker 2: use you for. You know, I think it's maybe a
- 58:59Speaker 2: two ways all right, my loves, If you haven't yet,
- 59:03Speaker 2: please give me five stars.
- 59:04Speaker 1: A helpful review.
- 59:05Speaker 2: Wherever you listen to podcasts, say words like you're great,
- 59:09Speaker 2: thank you for saying bad words. Sometimes we appreciate your
- 59:15Speaker 2: nuance and responses, or just like Chris, can you stop
- 59:19Speaker 2: saying like but A'll still give you five stars. And
- 59:24Speaker 2: the answer is I've tried. I really have. I have
- 59:27Speaker 2: over the years of me talking on this podcast, have
- 59:30Speaker 2: considered trying to stop saying like so much, as well
- 59:34Speaker 2: as making sure that when I start a sentence I
- 59:38Speaker 2: end it clearly. And there are some points that I
- 59:44Speaker 2: have made progress on, and there's some that I think
- 59:47Speaker 2: are intrinsic to myself having said that I just said,
- 59:52Speaker 2: which also isn't a great word to say on a podcast,
- 59:54Speaker 2: especially what it's just your voice, but no that I'm
- 59:57Speaker 2: working through it, okay, my loves. You can also follow
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: me at Chris Elfara on TikTok on Instagram. Honey, I'm
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: on Facebook and I have a private Facebook group. It's
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: called Vanity Farrah. At the same time, you can also
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: join my Patreon for only five dollars a month right now.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: There might be a time later where I put up
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: different tiers of different expenses, but at the same time,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: it's so cheap and you get all the visuals in
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: full length episodes like this. Part two of this will
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: be one whole YouTube video twenty four hours or more
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: than anyone else and private lives, and I listen to
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: what they want most. So people wanted to love after
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: lock up. I gave them a love after lock up.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: They didn't talk about this as Polly, but I decided
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: to give everyone this is Polly, so please listen to
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: those episodes as well. We're going to do our breaths
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: and send us on our merry ways. I certainly hope
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: that wherever you are, that you are enjoying your hot
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: ass summer, that you feel connected to something, to a joy,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: to a work, to a community, to a person or
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: person's to a group of people. I hope that you
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: feel the divine energy that connects us all. And so
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: one of those divine energies is our breath, is our
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: ability to bring ourselves in the present moment, to feel
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: our heart beating, to know that our mind is with
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: us right now, presently, not trudging through past experiences or
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: trying to plan the perfect future, but in fact, okay,
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: and good with being with you and me and your
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: body and soul right now, which is already great, which
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: has everything it needs to have, which is perfectly imperfect.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. Okay, two breaths, All right,
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: my loves, take care of yourselves and one another. Stand
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: up for what you believe and make art. Okay, I'll
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: talk to you later.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Bye,
