Transcript Welcome to Hot Tea for Thursday, October twenty-ninth, twenty twenty-six. This briefing uses an A I-generated voice. Today, we're looking at another quarter of cloud growth from Microsoft, but customer returns still need measuring. ServiceNow has a new plugin, with more tools planned for twenty twenty-seven. Nevada workers are weighing construction jobs against automation. And a small radiotherapy study asks whether A I can spot departures from a trial protocol. Oracle caps new financing at $20 billion through fiscal 2030. The planned split is $10 billion in equity and $10 billion in gross debt. Oracle announced the limit on October 28. There are two limits to keep in mind. It excludes refinancing existing debt, and Oracle already completed a separate $20 billion stock sale in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The new limit is not a cap on building data centers. Oracle expects customer prepayments, hardware supplied by customers, and vendor financing to reduce its upfront cash needs. It forecasts peak capital spending in fiscal 2027 and 2028. Oracle expects positive free cash flow in the second half of fiscal 2028. It forecasts at least $30 billion in fiscal 2029. These are forecasts. Moving an upfront bill to a customer or supplier changes who carries it. Later filings need to show whether cash collections and construction costs follow the plan. Microsoft reports $63.9 billion in quarterly cloud revenue. Microsoft reported ninety-two point three billion dollars in total revenue for the quarter ended September thirtieth, up nineteen percent from a year earlier. Microsoft Cloud revenue was sixty-three point nine billion dollars, up thirty percent. Operating income reached forty-five point nine billion dollars, up twenty-one percent. Those are company-reported results across broad businesses. Cloud revenue is not a separate measure of A I profit. It also cannot tell us how much a customer saves after paying for integration, checking, and corrections. Microsoft reports accounting results alongside adjusted measures. Comparisons need to use the same measure and period. Watch cloud growth alongside spending and cash generation. Then look for customer results measured in completed work and its full cost. A supplier can grow while the returns vary widely among its customers. ServiceNow connects ChatGPT to workflows, with more tools planned for 2027. OpenAI says it arrived in the marketplace on October twenty-eighth. Customers connect their own ServiceNow instance and select the capabilities they want to expose. The companies say existing business rules and permissions apply to actions. The rest is planned for later. OpenAI expects voice tools in early twenty twenty-seven. Security tools are expected to enter early access in January, with general availability in the second quarter. Codex in A I Workflow Factory is planned for twenty twenty-seven. ServiceNow also raised its twenty twenty-six A I annual contract value target to one point seven billion dollars. That is a target for contract value, not recognized A I revenue. Neither announcement independently proves safer actions or better productivity. Watch what ships, who approves actions, and whether failures leave records people can inspect. Nevada unions weigh data center jobs against automation losses. Nevada's Teamsters represent thirty thousand workers across several industries. Their political director, Ross Kinson, told Reuters that M G M laid off around two hundred call-center workers last year. That is an attributed account of older layoffs, not new October job losses. Reuters also reports that gubernatorial candidate Aaron Ford proposes stopping new data-center tax abatements and protecting residents from higher energy costs. Those are campaign proposals ahead of the November third election. The examples do not measure Nevada's net employment change. Construction jobs and service jobs differ in location and duration. Watch actual hiring and layoffs, worker protections, and household power costs. A count of construction jobs alone cannot settle the effects on other workers. A small radiotherapy study tests A I for finding trial deviations. The researchers' accepted paper appeared in Scientific Reports on October twenty-eighth. They analyzed one hundred seven prostate radiotherapy cases. On twenty-seven held-out cases, the classifier missed no flagged protocol deviations but raised six false alarms. There were few deviation cases, so the result needs testing on new cases. It does not establish less review work or better patient outcomes. False alarms can add work. The next step is prospective evaluation before routine use. That is the signal before the noise. This briefing was produced from Hot Tea's verified daily edition.
