- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news. Now you'll find out what
- 0:03Speaker 1: it all means. Hey, smart simone on seven to TENR.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Well, we'll get to the mayor old debate. The final
- 0:13Speaker 2: mayoral debate is tonight at seven o'clock. Will go over
- 0:16Speaker 2: all the whole thing, and then we'll get to Donald Trump.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You won't believe what the Democrats are melting down over
- 0:23Speaker 2: this time. We'll get to there's some other races going
- 0:27Speaker 2: on here in New York City. You should be where,
- 0:29Speaker 2: very very important. We'll get to Johnny Carson coming up
- 0:33Speaker 2: a little later this hour, don't miss that. We'll get
- 0:36Speaker 2: to Broadway, we'll get to Hunter, we'll get to the
- 0:39Speaker 2: next indictments, the awful law fair guys from the Biden administration,
- 0:44Speaker 2: one by one going down. We'll tell you who's next. Hey,
- 0:48Speaker 2: Tonight is the final mayoral debate. It's it's seven o'clock.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It'll be a ninety minute debate. That last one on
- 0:54Speaker 2: Channel four was two hours. It was too long. You
- 0:56Speaker 2: couldn't After about an hour and a half you couldn't
- 0:59Speaker 2: watch anymore. So it'll be a ninety minute debate tonight. Unfortunately,
- 1:03Speaker 2: it's on New York One, which has very few viewers.
- 1:06Speaker 2: And the other problem with New York One is the
- 1:08Speaker 2: most slanted left wing place. In fact, the debate moderator
- 1:13Speaker 2: will be Errol Lewis, very nice guy, but you couldn't
- 1:16Speaker 2: get more left wing, slanted partisan than Errol Lewis. A
- 1:20Speaker 2: lot of people think that's a ridiculous choice, that he
- 1:23Speaker 2: should recuse himself. Try to find somebody moderate, somebody neutral
- 1:29Speaker 2: to run the debate. So you know they stack these debates.
- 1:32Speaker 2: If you watch the Channel four debate with four moderators,
- 1:36Speaker 2: three candidates, four moderators, but all of them against you,
- 1:41Speaker 2: very very left wing. They you barely let Curtis talk
- 1:44Speaker 2: for the first twenty minutes. And then if you're watching
- 1:46Speaker 2: debate laters, it's pretty frustrating. Every time we tried to talk,
- 1:49Speaker 2: they kept switching subjects, cutting them off. So that could
- 1:52Speaker 2: be even worse tonight with the very slanted Errol Lewis
- 1:57Speaker 2: running this New York One debate. Now the other problem,
- 2:00Speaker 2: who sees New York won nobody anymore? But it'll also
- 2:03Speaker 2: be streaming, It'll be online, the clips will go everywhere,
- 2:06Speaker 2: so hopefully it'll get some attention. Curtis, you know, he
- 2:11Speaker 2: won the last debate everybody agreed on that. The question
- 2:14Speaker 2: is did anybody notice? And the problem is, you know,
- 2:17Speaker 2: do does anybody really pay attention to these debates? So
- 2:20Speaker 2: tonight he's got to He'll do fine, he'll win the debate,
- 2:23Speaker 2: but he's going to need some real viral moments, things
- 2:27Speaker 2: that go all over the place. He's got to take
- 2:29Speaker 2: out Mom Donnie keeps going. Everybody says, what do he
- 2:32Speaker 2: keep going after Cuomo? How can you help it? You
- 2:36Speaker 2: can't help going after Cuomo. But it is Cuomo in
- 2:39Speaker 2: the way. You know, there's all these calls that Curtis away,
- 2:41Speaker 2: he's got to drop out. Why doesn't he drop out?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Where are the calls for Cuomo to drop out? You know,
- 2:48Speaker 2: Curtis has a very little baggage, you know, maybe a
- 2:51Speaker 2: carry on Cuomo he's got more baggage than Paris Hilton.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I mean, it's going to be a problem in tonight's debate.
- 2:59Speaker 2: He's gonna have to answer for all that stuff. I
- 3:02Speaker 2: know people are saying, yeah, but there was a poll
- 3:04Speaker 2: that showed if it was just Cuomo and Mam Donnie,
- 3:06Speaker 2: you would be tied. And not a poll I would trust.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It's a little poll from a polling company. Nobody ever
- 3:13Speaker 2: heard of. That's run by Cuomo supporters, So I wouldn't
- 3:17Speaker 2: take that. I don't take that poll seriously. But tonight
- 3:22Speaker 2: will be the final, the final straw, the final blow.
- 3:27Speaker 2: After tonight, there's not much else that could change the election.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Early voting starts on Saturday, and a lot of people
- 3:35Speaker 2: do that early voting. Sometimes that's half the votes of
- 3:38Speaker 2: the early voting. It starts Saturday, it goes for about
- 3:40Speaker 2: ten days. The election is two weeks from yesterday, so
- 3:46Speaker 2: it's not looking good. Mam. Donnie still has a lead,
- 3:49Speaker 2: but these polls have been wrong before. And Curtis is
- 3:53Speaker 2: one of these type of guys like Trump in the beginning,
- 3:56Speaker 2: who tends to underpoll. In other words, he's actually better
- 3:59Speaker 2: than the polls are showing. Cuomo, Well, you got a
- 4:05Speaker 2: couple of problems. One, people just can't stand the guy,
- 4:08Speaker 2: especially in the political world. He's threatened everybody, you know,
- 4:11Speaker 2: that whole bully routine of threatening everybody in the in
- 4:15Speaker 2: the in the world, the government wise, you got no friends,
- 4:18Speaker 2: no allies. When he left office, he had to leave
- 4:21Speaker 2: in disgrace and resign. But when he left he did
- 4:24Speaker 2: spend a lot of time there wooing the big donors,
- 4:26Speaker 2: which is a group you can easily reach there in
- 4:30Speaker 2: the Upper east Side, there in the Hampton's there in
- 4:32Speaker 2: Palm Beach, you can run down there, go to all
- 4:34Speaker 2: their dinners, hang out with them, win them. He won
- 4:37Speaker 2: them over. That's why you see all these big, big, big,
- 4:39Speaker 2: big donors backing Cuomo. They are behind him. That's his base,
- 4:44Speaker 2: you know, that's the most important thing. Who's your base?
- 4:47Speaker 2: That's his base? The big donors. Unfortunately, when it comes
- 4:50Speaker 2: to voting, they're only like, there's seventy five of them.
- 4:52Speaker 2: It's it's not a lot of votes. And remember they
- 4:55Speaker 2: have a track record of being one hundred percent wrong
- 4:58Speaker 2: every time, those big donors. Who's Curtis's base, Well, definitely
- 5:03Speaker 2: Staten Island, a lot of Queens, a lot of Brooklyn,
- 5:06Speaker 2: a lot of working class, a lot of people behind Curtis.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Who's a mom Donnie's base. He's got younger voters, they
- 5:11Speaker 2: love them. He's got all the left wing Democrats, and
- 5:15Speaker 2: they've convinced themselves that it's these oligarchs. If only we
- 5:19Speaker 2: could get rid of these oligarchs, everything would be great,
- 5:23Speaker 2: it'd be affordable. They kind of works the opposite way.
- 5:28Speaker 2: That's the problem with Mom Donnie and those type of socialists.
- 5:31Speaker 2: They've never understood the relationship between capitalism and everybody having
- 5:37Speaker 2: a good economy, a strong economy. Now, the other problem
- 5:41Speaker 2: is with these socialists, they don't really it's not really
- 5:43Speaker 2: anything the stuff they claim, they're not even really for.
- 5:47Speaker 2: If you're Mom Donnie, you don't live that way. You know,
- 5:49Speaker 2: socialists live more like oligarchs. In fact, oligarchs comes from
- 5:53Speaker 2: the communist socialist world. So tonight seven to nine thirty,
- 5:57Speaker 2: this will be crucial if there's any chance of blooding up,
- 6:01Speaker 2: Mom Donnie. Verbally it'll be tonight, it's gotta happen. Now.
- 6:07Speaker 2: The other thing, you know, Mom Donnie is a good talker.
- 6:11Speaker 2: You know, he talks very fast. When you talk very
- 6:13Speaker 2: fast and you speak quickly and you talk like, people
- 6:15Speaker 2: think he must be very smart. How else could you
- 6:16Speaker 2: talk to this fast? And looks good. He's got that.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Those eyes look good. He looks sharp, he looks like
- 6:21Speaker 2: a dynamic young guy. The problem is, look, he just
- 6:25Speaker 2: looks like a salesman. He's clearly not a manager. He's
- 6:27Speaker 2: just a salesman. And the problem is for him, maybe
- 6:35Speaker 2: even with his base. They don't really deep down think
- 6:38Speaker 2: he's authentic or sincere. There's no clarity. You know, He's
- 6:42Speaker 2: got these visions of things but no specifics, So there's
- 6:45Speaker 2: no authenticity, no clarity. The other problem with Cuomo he
- 6:49Speaker 2: used to be a good salesman years ago, but and
- 6:52Speaker 2: he was never a manager because as governor, it was
- 6:54Speaker 2: a disaster. Disaster. He screwed up the police, he screwed
- 6:59Speaker 2: up I'm fighting. He screwed up the nursing homes. I mean,
- 7:02Speaker 2: he's just the worst management. That decision to send patients
- 7:06Speaker 2: with the virus into all the nursing homes may go
- 7:08Speaker 2: down in history. It's the single dumbest management decision ever
- 7:11Speaker 2: made in the world. So and nobody looks at Cuomo
- 7:15Speaker 2: and thinks authenticity or clarity. You know, he's he did
- 7:20Speaker 2: something awful. Now he says it was wrong. I wouldn't
- 7:22Speaker 2: do it again. He's flip flopping all over the place
- 7:24Speaker 2: on things. So when you look at Curtis, here's the
- 7:27Speaker 2: only guy you see with at real authenticity. There's even
- 7:30Speaker 2: a Colin in The New York Post today pointing this out.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And the post is not for Curtis, but even they
- 7:34Speaker 2: point out when it comes to clarity, authenticity, it's only Curtis.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So you know, they keeps saying, Curtis, why do you
- 7:42Speaker 2: go after Cuomo? Go after Mom Donnie. But on the
- 7:44Speaker 2: other hand, I'm listening to Cuomo the last couple of days.
- 7:47Speaker 2: He's going after Curtis more than Mom Donnie.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Curtis cannot will not be Mayor of New York. He
- 7:54Speaker 3: could cause Mandami to be Mayor of New York. Those
- 7:59Speaker 3: are his options.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah, But who did cause Mam Donnie to be in
- 8:03Speaker 2: the league, Well, it was Cuomo. Unfortunately, in the Democratic
- 8:07Speaker 2: primary instead of Adams, he had Cuomo against Mom Donnie,
- 8:11Speaker 2: and Cuomo was a disaster in that race. He lost
- 8:13Speaker 2: both debates, he lost the popular vote by a lot.
- 8:17Speaker 2: So if it's Cuomo that gave us Mom Donni by
- 8:20Speaker 2: his poor performance in the primary, we got stuck with
- 8:23Speaker 2: Mam Donnie.
- 8:24Speaker 4: It's not about you. It's not about you.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It he keeps going after Curtis.
- 8:29Speaker 4: It's not about you. It's not about you, Curtis. It's
- 8:33Speaker 4: not about me. It's not about Mayor Eric Adams. It's
- 8:36Speaker 4: not about any of us. It's about New York City.
- 8:40Speaker 4: That's why we're here. That should be why we're here.
- 8:45Speaker 4: And if that's not why we're here.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Uh, it's God's way of telling us we shouldn't be here.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Curtis cannot will not be Mayor.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Of New York.
- 8:57Speaker 3: He could cause Mandani to be Mayor of New York.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Those are his options.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but the real problem everybody thinks Mamdanni would be
- 9:08Speaker 2: a nightmare as mayor of New York. The problem is,
- 9:11Speaker 2: deep down everybody knows Cuomo could be a disaster. He
- 9:15Speaker 2: might do the same crap he did as governor. Remember
- 9:17Speaker 2: as governor he was so far to the left, so
- 9:19Speaker 2: much left wing woke kind of stuff. It caused the
- 9:23Speaker 2: crime wave. He's closed Indian points, screwed up our electric
- 9:27Speaker 2: bills are electricity. You could go on and on all
- 9:29Speaker 2: the decisions, but through in a position he could have
- 9:33Speaker 2: a total nightmare with Mamdannie or a bad dream with Cuomo.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Here's Curtis.
- 9:38Speaker 5: I don't see any sign of a Cuomo campaign other
- 9:42Speaker 5: than every day at knowledge him slee wool must drop
- 9:46Speaker 5: out or I can't win.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Why not wait the white flag now?
- 9:51Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's another thing. Have you ever seen a
- 9:53Speaker 2: race like that where a guy can't get his own votes.
- 9:56Speaker 2: He has to beg everybody else to drop out. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 2: I saw it once. It was in the Democratic primaries.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Remember when Joe Biden was one of twelve candidates and
- 10:07Speaker 2: he was horrible in the debates and he wasn't winning.
- 10:09Speaker 2: You remember, and then they came to South Carolina and
- 10:13Speaker 2: the Democratic Party made everybody else drop out of the race.
- 10:16Speaker 2: You remember that they made Buddha Jetge drop out. They
- 10:19Speaker 2: made Elizabeth Warren drop out, Bernie Sanders, they all had
- 10:22Speaker 2: to resign from the race the day before the South
- 10:24Speaker 2: Carolina primary so that Joe Biden could win. It worked,
- 10:28Speaker 2: they all dropped out and Biden won. But look what
- 10:31Speaker 2: you ended up with. So that's whenever you got to
- 10:33Speaker 2: make people drop out of a race to get yourself
- 10:36Speaker 2: a winner, you end up with a bad, bad candidate. Hey,
- 10:41Speaker 2: it happened with Cuomo years ago. He was running for
- 10:43Speaker 2: governor and he had the very popular David Patterson out
- 10:47Speaker 2: there ready to challenge him, and they made Patterson get
- 10:50Speaker 2: out of the race. They had then President Obama get
- 10:55Speaker 2: Patterson out of the race so Cuomo could win. I
- 10:58Speaker 2: talked to Patterson about this the other day. Farmed it
- 11:00Speaker 2: absolutely said it was heavy pressure from the Obama administration
- 11:04Speaker 2: that forced him out of the race so Cuomo could win.
- 11:06Speaker 2: So he's got a history of this. He can't win,
- 11:09Speaker 2: can't go out there and get the votes, but he's
- 11:10Speaker 2: got to get other people out of the race. Here's
- 11:12Speaker 2: more a curtisy.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I am not dropping out under no circumstance.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I've already been offered money to drop out.
- 11:20Speaker 6: I said no.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Distant from that, with threats against Stancy and myself, I
- 11:26Speaker 3: now have to have armed security with me former NYPD officers.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Never had that in my life.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I trust the people they are able to choose the
- 11:38Speaker 1: next mayor.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Well, anyway, stop arguing about it. Wait till tonight seven
- 11:42Speaker 2: to eight thirty. The mayoral debate is tonight seven o'clock.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Watched that and then afterwards then you'll know. Then you'll
- 11:51Speaker 2: know what's going. I'll have some idea. And again early
- 11:53Speaker 2: voting starts Saturday. And now here's another thing, this is
- 11:55Speaker 2: very important. Uh, you got to get rid of Alvin Bragg.
- 11:59Speaker 2: This is the district attorney who lets all the criminals out.
- 12:02Speaker 2: He doesn't put people in jail. It's one reason we
- 12:04Speaker 2: have such a bad crime wave. So you got to
- 12:08Speaker 2: get rid of Alvin Bragg. There's a woman running against him.
- 12:11Speaker 2: She's the Republican candidate. She's really a Democrat, been a
- 12:14Speaker 2: Democrat for years, but running as a Republican. She's got
- 12:17Speaker 2: a very good track record as a DA she puts
- 12:20Speaker 2: criminals in jail. So this could be a big, big,
- 12:23Speaker 2: big change. Get rid of Alvin Bragg. Vote for maud
- 12:26Speaker 2: merin election day or early voting. If you get Alvin
- 12:30Speaker 2: Bragg out of there and get her in there, at
- 12:31Speaker 2: least you got some protection against a possible mom Donnie mayoralty.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Now President Trump. The Democrats that Trump derangement syndrome is amazing.
- 12:47Speaker 2: No matter what he does, they go nuts. He's building
- 12:50Speaker 2: a spectacular ballroom at the White House. It needs it,
- 12:56Speaker 2: it really needs it. They don't you know that beautiful
- 12:59Speaker 2: East Room of the White It can only hold about
- 13:01Speaker 2: two hundred people. So when they have these big parties
- 13:03Speaker 2: and big events, they have to put a tent on
- 13:05Speaker 2: the lawn, so it looks like a wedding in New
- 13:09Speaker 2: Jersey with the tent on the lawn. It's not appropriate
- 13:12Speaker 2: for the White House. And the other problem is, you
- 13:14Speaker 2: know half the time it's raining, it's cold, it's wet,
- 13:17Speaker 2: the grass is wet. You can't keep having a major
- 13:20Speaker 2: White House event in a tent on the lawn. So
- 13:24Speaker 2: he wants to build this ballroom and it's going to
- 13:26Speaker 2: be spectacular. It'll hold about eight hundred beautiful ballroom. It's
- 13:31Speaker 2: going to extend out the East wing of the White House.
- 13:33Speaker 2: So to start this, they have to tear down one
- 13:36Speaker 2: of the walls of the East room of the East
- 13:39Speaker 2: Wing and attach this. So you've seen the pictures. It's demolition,
- 13:44Speaker 2: the wrecking balls, the cranes. They've taken down one of
- 13:47Speaker 2: the walls on the east end of the White House,
- 13:51Speaker 2: the East Wing, and what's actually there is the First
- 13:54Speaker 2: Lady's office. She's had to move to somewhere else temporarily.
- 13:57Speaker 2: And this will go quickly because it's Trump who's an
- 13:59Speaker 2: expert at construction. It's not like the government building it.
- 14:03Speaker 2: And yesterday he was doing a press conference. You can
- 14:05Speaker 2: hear the construction going on and you could hear the
- 14:08Speaker 2: noise in the distance, and he said, ah, the sound
- 14:10Speaker 2: of construction. I love that sound. Well, think about it.
- 14:13Speaker 2: We hate that sound. But to a guy who's been
- 14:15Speaker 2: a builder all his life, he loves it. Now This
- 14:17Speaker 2: is not unusual to tear down something in the White
- 14:20Speaker 2: House build something else. Happens all the time, even the
- 14:23Speaker 2: West Wing. In nineteen oh two, President Roosevelt added the
- 14:26Speaker 2: West Wing. You know Trump is adding a ballroom. It
- 14:29Speaker 2: was President Theodore Roosevelt that added the West Wing to
- 14:34Speaker 2: the White House. Franklin Roosevelt added a second floor to
- 14:37Speaker 2: the West wing. They had relocate the Oval office for
- 14:41Speaker 2: a while. Nineteen forty eight, President Harry Truman, no listen
- 14:45Speaker 2: to this. Nineteen forty eight, Truman completely gutted the White
- 14:49Speaker 2: House interior and rebuilt the whole thing, preserving only the
- 14:53Speaker 2: exterior walls. He completely gutted the White House, and it
- 14:58Speaker 2: has always been changing. Be a swimming pool in the
- 15:01Speaker 2: White House. Nineteen seventy Nixon got rid of it, removed
- 15:04Speaker 2: the swimming pool, converted into the press briefing room that
- 15:08Speaker 2: you see. He also added a bowling alley. President Obama
- 15:13Speaker 2: took away the tennis court. There was a beautiful tennis
- 15:15Speaker 2: court there. He got rid of it, put in a
- 15:17Speaker 2: basketball court. So things go on all the time like this.
- 15:22Speaker 2: It's going to look great, But liberals are all over
- 15:24Speaker 2: the place. The left wing online crying emotional about this.
- 15:28Speaker 2: A picture of that wrecking ball hitting the wall and
- 15:31Speaker 2: the headlines desecration, heartbreaking. What he's doing to the lighthouse,
- 15:35Speaker 2: it's going to look spectacular. And those tweets in those
- 15:39Speaker 2: posts you're putting up aren't going to age well. So, hey,
- 15:43Speaker 2: we'll get to the President wants the Department of Justice
- 15:46Speaker 2: to pay him two hundred and thirty million dollars. Now,
- 15:50Speaker 2: this will really get these left wing people crazy. He's
- 15:54Speaker 2: probably wrong about that. I mean, he's owed something for
- 15:58Speaker 2: the whole fake which the Russia hoax, the raid on
- 16:02Speaker 2: mar A Lago, which was absolutely disgusting. He's owed something
- 16:05Speaker 2: for that, the law fairy, he was put on trial
- 16:08Speaker 2: in four cities. What is he owed? I don't know,
- 16:11Speaker 2: maybe several million to pay all his legal fees, all
- 16:14Speaker 2: his expenses pay. Obviously he's owed that. I don't two
- 16:18Speaker 2: hundred and thirty million might be a ridiculous figure, but
- 16:21Speaker 2: you know that might be a starting figure. Anyway. Hey,
- 16:23Speaker 2: we'll get to Johnny Carson coming up. Don't miss that.
- 16:27Speaker 2: We'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three to two
- 16:30Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 16:34Speaker 2: to two one zero seven ten, Hey, let's take some calls.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Let's go to U Rich and Myrtle Beach. That line works, Rich,
- 16:41Speaker 2: How you doing good?
- 16:43Speaker 7: Thanks? Mark? You know everything we talk about here, day
- 16:46Speaker 7: after day, subject after subject, awfles back to this honesty
- 16:51Speaker 7: of the press. The plenty of presents of torn aport
- 16:54Speaker 7: the White House for centuries, but it's only Donald Trump
- 16:57Speaker 7: that's a criminal about it. It's only Donald Trump this
- 17:00Speaker 7: and he's using his own money. It's really unbelievable. All
- 17:03Speaker 7: comes back to the dishonesty of the press.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, it's tough to run a democracy, you're right,
- 17:08Speaker 2: without without an honest press, with the totally distorted media.
- 17:12Speaker 2: It's some of his own. He's going to put in
- 17:14Speaker 2: a couple million, but most of the renovation will be
- 17:17Speaker 2: paid for by donors, and so that'll be another that's
- 17:22Speaker 2: the next left wing attack. They're going to hit him
- 17:23Speaker 2: with that a special interest in oligarchs are buying favors.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And again it's done all the time. Every president has
- 17:30Speaker 2: done renovation to the White House. Let's go to Mike
- 17:33Speaker 2: and Florida. Mike, how you're doing good morning?
- 17:36Speaker 8: Mark?
- 17:37Speaker 9: Yes, Mike, you played a SoundBite yesterday with Colomo claiming
- 17:41Speaker 9: that as part of his platform, he's going to build
- 17:43Speaker 9: eighty thousand affordable, how impousing units once he gets elected,
- 17:49Speaker 9: and people should be remembered.
- 17:50Speaker 6: This is what he did at HUD, and it caused
- 17:53Speaker 6: the housing clash that the tooth ere in the early
- 17:57Speaker 6: two thousands, and it's something Democrats keep doing every few generations.
- 18:00Speaker 6: We call them the projects in the old days. And
- 18:02Speaker 6: it doesn't work. And he's just going to do the
- 18:05Speaker 6: same thing here, and he's a he's a fraud. And
- 18:09Speaker 6: you know, it's amazing that Republicans can't have the guts
- 18:14Speaker 6: to get behind Curtis's shame.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I don't think I don't think Clonmo's a fraud. I
- 18:19Speaker 2: think he's actually sincere. He believes he's doing the right
- 18:21Speaker 2: stuff all the time, like with this right bail, no jail.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I think he's just wrong. He as head of HUD
- 18:27Speaker 2: the housing stuff. Many people think he was a major
- 18:30Speaker 2: factor in causing the housing crash which almost took down
- 18:33Speaker 2: the whole American economy. And as governor, you saw a
- 18:37Speaker 2: disaster after a disaster. So he's not a fraud. He
- 18:40Speaker 2: just I don't know what it is. He just screws up.
- 18:43Speaker 2: He just he's a salesman. He's not a manager. And
- 18:46Speaker 2: that's the problem with some people. They can just talk there,
- 18:48Speaker 2: they can campaign, but they're not managers. They can't run stuff.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Let's go to Joe in Babylon. Joe, how you doing.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Good? Mark? I just want to make one point about
- 18:59Speaker 5: Curtis was candidacy for mayor as far as his situation
- 19:06Speaker 5: as a Republican candidate. From my understanding, he's also running
- 19:09Speaker 5: on the Independent line, and it's not being emphasized for
- 19:13Speaker 5: those Democrats will not vote for a Republican.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Well, I don't think Democrats going to vote for him anyway.
- 19:20Speaker 2: I Democrats love Mom Donnie and a lot of them
- 19:24Speaker 2: like Cuomo. It's a Republican. It's going to be a
- 19:26Speaker 2: turnout election. If you get the eighteen percent model. That's
- 19:30Speaker 2: how Deblasio got elected. It was eighteen percent turnout. If
- 19:33Speaker 2: you get the eighty percent model, everything changes. That's how
- 19:36Speaker 2: Rudy Giuliani got elected. Hey, by the way, if you
- 19:40Speaker 2: look at the ballot, at the top of the ballot
- 19:42Speaker 2: is Mom Donnie. Second is Curtis. Those are the two.
- 19:45Speaker 2: You got to really hunt for Cuomo's name. You gotta
- 19:48Speaker 2: go down eight spaces to find Cuomo. He's got a
- 19:50Speaker 2: problem with his ballot position. Let's go to Jerry and Greenwich. Jerry,
- 19:55Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 19:57Speaker 8: I'm doing very well, Mark. Could you know it's to
- 19:59Speaker 8: share what's had been in New York. It was beautiful.
- 20:02Speaker 8: But anyway, may I be allowed to wish good luck
- 20:05Speaker 8: to my friend Heather. She's rerunning for a text collector
- 20:09Speaker 8: in Greenwich.
- 20:10Speaker 2: All right, I wish your love to look and we
- 20:12Speaker 2: want everybody in Greenwich. We want everybody to vote for
- 20:15Speaker 2: Fred Camillo. He's the mayor. He's a great mayor.
- 20:18Speaker 8: Yes, yes, agreed that he's up for reelection.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Make sure you vote for Fred Camillo. And who's the
- 20:23Speaker 2: who's the tax collector?
- 20:25Speaker 8: I'm on the lane for that, you know. And but Heather,
- 20:28Speaker 8: she's a very lovely lady and she's she cares for
- 20:31Speaker 8: the Greenwich people. Anyway, I want to thank you very
- 20:34Speaker 8: much for let me to say that.
- 20:36Speaker 2: All right, don't worry, that's fine, We'll send you the bill.
- 20:38Speaker 2: But one more, let's go to Sandy in the New
- 20:40Speaker 2: York Sandy, what's going on?
- 20:43Speaker 10: Good morning? Mark?
- 20:44Speaker 7: Yes, Mark, I think about that beautiful ball that Donald
- 20:47Speaker 7: Trump is building in the White House.
- 20:50Speaker 10: I went to mari Alago once and oh you're one
- 20:53Speaker 10: of those.
- 20:54Speaker 2: If you go to mar A Lago, it's these women everywhere.
- 20:56Speaker 2: They chase every everybody around the room. How are you
- 21:00Speaker 2: can I take up? And they take selfies with everybody.
- 21:03Speaker 2: That's if you look at the pictures of mile Logo,
- 21:05Speaker 2: it looks beautiful, but that crowd. When we come back,
- 21:10Speaker 2: we'll take a look at Johnny Carson. Johnny Carson. You
- 21:14Speaker 2: look at what's on Late Night today. Oh listen, I know.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I was like the Johnny Carson expert. I knew everything
- 21:23Speaker 2: you could know about Johnny Carson. Then I started listening
- 21:25Speaker 2: to this thing called the Carson Podcast. There's six hundred episodes.
- 21:28Speaker 2: By the time I got done, I learned like three
- 21:30Speaker 2: million things I never knew. It was the greatest look
- 21:33Speaker 2: at Johnny Carson ever done by Mark Malcoff. He interviewed
- 21:38Speaker 2: everybody that every celebrity was on the Tonight Shoe Brady worked.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It's well, it's turned into a book. The book just
- 21:43Speaker 2: came out, The definitive book on Johnny Carson. We'll talk
- 21:47Speaker 2: to Mark Malcoff, the author next on seven to ten
- 21:50Speaker 2: WR seven ten WRS.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Mark Simone Show continues now.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Whoa, I still can't find it. We're looking for Mark Melcoff,
- 22:03Speaker 2: author of the great New Johnny Carson book. I'm sure
- 22:06Speaker 2: he'll turn up. A pretty reliable guy. We couldn't find him.
- 22:14Speaker 2: All right, hang on here, let me send him a text.
- 22:19Speaker 2: He's not Steve Moore. He's not Steve Moore. We'll get him. Uh,
- 22:24Speaker 2: there we go. He wrote this book based on for years,
- 22:30Speaker 2: I guess about five six years, he's been doing something
- 22:32Speaker 2: called the Carson Podcast. And if you haven't heard it,
- 22:36Speaker 2: start listening to it. You'll get addicted. If you love
- 22:38Speaker 2: Johnny Carson, if you love that whole world of television
- 22:42Speaker 2: and the Golden Age, it's called the Carson Podcast. And
- 22:45Speaker 2: he interviewed every big star you can imagine that was
- 22:47Speaker 2: ever on The Tonight Show. But even more fascinating are
- 22:51Speaker 2: the interviews with all the people that worked on the show,
- 22:55Speaker 2: even though people he wouldn't think it'd be interesting, like
- 22:57Speaker 2: the guy that held the curtain open. They're fascinating interviews,
- 23:01Speaker 2: all sorts of insights and stories behind the scenes the
- 23:04Speaker 2: Tonight Show and about Johnny Carson and everything. So after
- 23:10Speaker 2: years of this it became so popular it turned into
- 23:13Speaker 2: a book and It just came out yesterday. It's called
- 23:16Speaker 2: Love Johnny Carson. It's the definitive, full, fascinating story of Carson.
- 23:25Speaker 2: What made him so successful? What went on behind the scenes.
- 23:28Speaker 2: You love the book. It's called Love Johnny Carson. Get
- 23:32Speaker 2: the book. So we still didn't find him, Well that's funny,
- 23:37Speaker 2: all right. Well if he doesn't turn up, we'll get
- 23:40Speaker 2: him later in the week. But it's a great book.
- 23:43Speaker 2: You know, if you read this book, it'll, you know,
- 23:46Speaker 2: just make you think about what we're stuck with today.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Late Night you got Stephen Colbert, who is just you know,
- 23:52Speaker 2: it's like a DNC show every night at eleven thirty.
- 23:55Speaker 2: It's kind of an angry, mad kind of a show.
- 23:58Speaker 2: And then Fallon started off, all right. He can be
- 24:00Speaker 2: funny at times, he can be entertaining at times, but
- 24:04Speaker 2: it's just it's not Johnny Carson. It's like it's more
- 24:09Speaker 2: like a game show than Johnny Carson. And then you
- 24:11Speaker 2: got Kimmel, who nobody knows what that is. Half funny,
- 24:15Speaker 2: half angry, just very angry stuff. The Tonight Show was
- 24:18Speaker 2: actually created by Steve Allen in nineteen fifty three fifty four.
- 24:23Speaker 2: He invented the whole thing, and he when the network
- 24:26Speaker 2: gave me assignment, they thought it would be like the
- 24:28Speaker 2: Today Show. The Today Show was already a big success,
- 24:31Speaker 2: so they wanted to duplicate it, do the same thing
- 24:33Speaker 2: at night, call it the Tonight Show instead of Today.
- 24:36Speaker 2: And they told Steve Allen, you know, you'll do newscasts
- 24:39Speaker 2: on the half hour, you'll do weather reports, you'll do
- 24:43Speaker 2: news and feature. He didn't want any of that. He
- 24:45Speaker 2: just decided, I'll come out and I'll tell jokes and
- 24:48Speaker 2: I'll be funny, and I'll have guests come on and
- 24:50Speaker 2: I'll bring out comedians and singers. And at the end
- 24:53Speaker 2: of the day, people don't want another newscast. They want
- 24:55Speaker 2: to be entertained. So he created the Tonight Show and
- 24:58Speaker 2: was a huge, six, huge monster success. It became the
- 25:02Speaker 2: hottest thing in TV. It became so big they switched
- 25:05Speaker 2: him to a primetime variety show. Then they bring in
- 25:09Speaker 2: a guy named Jack Parr, who wasn't that well known,
- 25:11Speaker 2: to take over the Tonight Show. And he he's the
- 25:15Speaker 2: guy that created the exact format we used today. He's
- 25:18Speaker 2: the guy that decided to have a desk, a chair,
- 25:21Speaker 2: a couch. He designed the set. It's exactly the same
- 25:24Speaker 2: set still being used today. And he's the guy that
- 25:27Speaker 2: made it little less of a variety entertainment show and
- 25:30Speaker 2: just talk, lots of guests, lots of talk. Carson came
- 25:34Speaker 2: along later. Parr was a huge success, the biggest thing
- 25:39Speaker 2: in television. He had enormous ratings. She couldn't be bigger
- 25:42Speaker 2: than Parr. It was tough for Carson to take over.
- 25:44Speaker 2: He struggled for a year or two. First year or
- 25:47Speaker 2: two were rough. A lot of people didn't know if
- 25:49Speaker 2: he'd make it, but then slowly but surely, gradually took off,
- 25:54Speaker 2: became a major, major, major television institution, and stayed thirty years.
- 26:00Speaker 2: It was an incredible thing. Then he left. It was
- 26:04Speaker 2: never the same since Jay Leno was a big step down,
- 26:07Speaker 2: but still a big step up from what we have now.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And a lot of people think at some point these
- 26:15Speaker 2: shows will just go. You know, Colbert is going to
- 26:17Speaker 2: be canceled. He's been canceled. He'll go off the air
- 26:20Speaker 2: in I think it's March or is it May, and
- 26:24Speaker 2: watch carefully. I don't think they'll replace him. There won't
- 26:27Speaker 2: be another talk show. They'll probably they'll run reruns of
- 26:31Speaker 2: a game show. You know when they took Kimmel off
- 26:32Speaker 2: for three four days, they just put reruns of Celebrity
- 26:36Speaker 2: Family Feud. It got triple the ratings that kim will get.
- 26:39Speaker 2: So don't think CBS hasn't noticed that. And they're looking
- 26:42Speaker 2: to make major cutbacks, so Fallon goes. When Colbert goes
- 26:48Speaker 2: off the air, you'll see reruns of primetime dramas or
- 26:52Speaker 2: game shows that'll take its place. It'll be down to
- 26:55Speaker 2: two late night shows. Kimmel may pick up the whole
- 26:58Speaker 2: Colbert audience. That might help help them. If not, don't
- 27:02Speaker 2: be surprised if he goes. One thing about Jimmy Fallon,
- 27:05Speaker 2: If he's the only one left, he's got the ability
- 27:10Speaker 2: to switch from an angry political show to just a
- 27:13Speaker 2: fun entertainment show. But they don't have the money to
- 27:16Speaker 2: do these shows anymore. You know, I don't know if
- 27:18Speaker 2: you know this, but Colbert Fallon, they're not on five
- 27:21Speaker 2: nights a week. They're really four nights a week, and
- 27:23Speaker 2: they run a rerun the other night. There's big, big
- 27:27Speaker 2: cuts coming to CBS is now owned by sky Dance,
- 27:32Speaker 2: and it's about to happen, might happen next week. Major, major,
- 27:36Speaker 2: major layoffs, thousands of people will be cut there. It'll
- 27:39Speaker 2: happen at all the networks. A lot of people don't
- 27:41Speaker 2: watch network TV anymore. You know. Network TV's only twenty
- 27:45Speaker 2: five million people watching Network TV. Twenty five million. That's it.
- 27:52Speaker 2: AM talk radio sixty three million. It's a much, much,
- 27:55Speaker 2: much bigger medium. So hey, wait, we didn't find him,
- 27:57Speaker 2: Mark Melcoff didn't turn out. That's funny. But get the book.
- 28:01Speaker 2: It's a great book. It's called Love Johnny Carson. It's
- 28:04Speaker 2: got great pictures in it. Uh, it's everything you everyone to
- 28:08Speaker 2: know about that whole era, about Johnny Carson, all that stuff.
- 28:11Speaker 2: And uh, well, should we take some calls. Yeah, let's
- 28:15Speaker 2: take a call or two. Let's go to uh Phil, Phil,
- 28:19Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 28:22Speaker 10: Hello?
- 28:22Speaker 2: Oh it's Phyllis not Phil gottures in it. She's listening
- 28:27Speaker 2: to the radio. Hi, Hi, let me check. Oh yes
- 28:32Speaker 2: it is turn your radio down before I'm listening to myself.
- 28:42Speaker 10: Before Steve Allen, it was called the Broadway Open House.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Oh this is a yeah, a real old timer. You
- 28:49Speaker 2: go way back, well actually two years hill perfect right
- 28:53Speaker 2: in our target demo. That's just what we're looking for. No,
- 28:56Speaker 2: that's good. Yeah, well that was different. Though Broadway Open
- 28:58Speaker 2: House was the first late night show, it wasn't the
- 29:01Speaker 2: first tonight show.
- 29:03Speaker 10: And that's when they introduced Dagmar There you go, well,
- 29:06Speaker 10: you go way back. Yeah, and she appeared at Frank
- 29:09Speaker 10: Sinatra at the Paramount.
- 29:11Speaker 2: WHOA, my god. Hey, how about that Eddie Canter?
- 29:13Speaker 10: Huh No, that was my mother's joint man, make it
- 29:18Speaker 10: sound old. All right, thank you very much, love for
- 29:22Speaker 10: your show.
- 29:23Speaker 2: All right, glad you're listened. Thanks for calling. Phyllis ninety two.
- 29:25Speaker 2: How about that still going Strong? Turns the radio up
- 29:30Speaker 2: pretty loud though, right, that's a loyal listener. But anyway,
- 29:36Speaker 2: the book is called Love Johnny Carson, get the book.
- 29:40Speaker 2: You will love it. Anyway. We've got a lot to
- 29:42Speaker 2: get to, but we'll find them later in the week.
- 29:44Speaker 2: We'll have them one anyway. Don't forget Buck and Clay
- 29:47Speaker 2: coming up at noon today, excellent show every day twelve noon,

- 29:58Speaker 2: and Jimmy Fayla great show every night at nine. Here
- 30:01Speaker 2: on seven to ten.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Wo R get instant access to Mark by setting a
- 30:07Speaker 1: pre set in the iHeartRadio app for his live show
- 30:10Speaker 1: and his podcast. Now back to the Mark Simone Show ONOOR.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Well, all right, we heard from I heard from Mark melcoffee.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Got the time mixed up. I thought it was next hour.
- 30:25Speaker 2: We'll reschedule, we'll figure we'll figure it out. But hey,
- 30:28Speaker 2: it's gonna be nice today. I should be nice for
- 30:31Speaker 2: it rained overnight, So that's it. It's gonna be nice
- 30:33Speaker 2: for the rest of the week. Now, don't forget. Tonight
- 30:36Speaker 2: seven o'clock is the debate. The mayor Old debate is
- 30:38Speaker 2: at seven o'clock. It's on New York One, which is
- 30:43Speaker 2: channel that doesn't have a lot of viewers, and it's
- 30:45Speaker 2: not on every cable system. It's only on Spectrum, but
- 30:49Speaker 2: I'm sure it'll be online. It'll be on YouTube. You'll
- 30:52Speaker 2: be able to watch it. It's an hour and a half.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Last debate was too long. It was two hours. Nobody
- 30:56Speaker 2: could nobody could make it to two hours. But this
- 30:59Speaker 2: will be an hour and a half tonight, seven to
- 31:03Speaker 2: nine thirty. And we'll see what goes viral and what
- 31:07Speaker 2: gets talked about the next day. So that'll be interesting. Hey,
- 31:11Speaker 2: coming up in the next hour, we'll get the hunter Biden.
- 31:13Speaker 2: He's speaking out big mistake. I don't know what he
- 31:16Speaker 2: thinks he's going to achieve by all of this, And
- 31:18Speaker 2: we'll get back to the mayoral race. We'll get to
- 31:21Speaker 2: President Trump, the Middle East, and a whole lot more.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Remember Kamala Harris, you remember her, Kamala Harris. The DNC
- 31:30Speaker 2: quietly paying her another two million they're trying to pay off.
- 31:34Speaker 2: She racked up this huge campaign debt. You know, it
- 31:37Speaker 2: was only one hundred and seven days that campaign. Somehow
- 31:40Speaker 2: she's think about this, one hundred and seven days. She
- 31:44Speaker 2: spent one point five billion, one point five billion, and
- 31:48Speaker 2: still ran out of money and is in debt. Apparently
- 31:52Speaker 2: the DNC has already paid about twenty million trying to
- 31:54Speaker 2: pay off her debt, which is a little questionable for
- 31:57Speaker 2: the DNC to pay that. They don't have a lot
- 31:59Speaker 2: of care on hand. But they gave her another one
- 32:02Speaker 2: point six million yesterday paying off her debt. That's a
- 32:05Speaker 2: little weird. Anyway, we got a lot to get to
- 32:07Speaker 2: in the next hour. I'm here every day ten to noon,
- 32:10Speaker 2: and if you can't listen ten to noon, you can
- 32:12Speaker 2: listen anytime day night. Just get the podcast back right
- 32:15Speaker 2: after the news on seven to ten Woor
