- 0:00Speaker 1: Blogged into Everything New York on the Voice of New
- 0:04Speaker 1: York Mark Simon on sevent tenor.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Well, I'm getting a lot of texts. That's not because
- 0:16Speaker 2: I'm popular. It just means I have a doctor's appointment.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Doctor's appointment today. It's just a yearly physical. I got
- 0:24Speaker 2: an email this morning reminded me of this, doctors, But
- 0:26Speaker 2: I just got a text a reminder of your doctor's
- 0:28Speaker 2: appointment is today. I got one last night. I got
- 0:31Speaker 2: what do they think I'm Joe Biden. I can't remember anything.
- 0:35Speaker 2: For hundreds of years people had doctor's appointments and you
- 0:39Speaker 2: just wrote it down, you know, and you showed up.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It was not I've asked doctors, why do you do this?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Why do you bombard us with texts and emails, reminders
- 0:48Speaker 2: and reminders. Wow, a misappointment can really screw up everything,
- 0:51Speaker 2: and it's the worst thing in the world. I got
- 0:54Speaker 2: lots of appointments all day. I don't get four hundred texts.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I mean, you've got a meeting with somebody at three
- 1:00Speaker 2: o'clock today. They don't send me a million texters or
- 1:02Speaker 2: reminder your meeting is. Actually actually start doing that to people,
- 1:05Speaker 2: Just a reminder it's annoying. Hey, World Series last night,
- 1:11Speaker 2: eighteen innings walk off homer by Freddie Freeman, who's very
- 1:17Speaker 2: famous now for these walk off homers. But eighteen innings,
- 1:20Speaker 2: the game went till two fifteen in the morning. There
- 1:25Speaker 2: is nothing more annoying or less fun to watch than
- 1:29Speaker 2: one of those long inning games where nobody scores, nothing happens.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I mean, it's great watching all the defense. But so
- 1:38Speaker 2: you had like nine ten innings of no scoring until
- 1:42Speaker 2: that walk off homer. Hey, you know it's the Dodgers.
- 1:44Speaker 2: They won in eighteen eings. You know it was fascinating.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You know, it was there at the game. Sandy Kofax.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I didn't even know he's still alive. He's eighty nine
- 1:54Speaker 2: years old, the legendary Dodger pitcher. There was Sandy Kofax
- 1:58Speaker 2: at the World Series. So it's definitely not summer anymore.
- 2:03Speaker 2: It's definitely well into the fall. We're really into fall now.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Because daylight savings time ends Sunday night, Saturday night, you
- 2:10Speaker 2: will gain an hour, you'll get an extra hour of
- 2:13Speaker 2: sleep Saturday night. You want to know how close winter is?
- 2:19Speaker 2: The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, Yeah, that's right, it's that
- 2:21Speaker 2: time already. It picked a tree from a suburban farm
- 2:25Speaker 2: in Albany, Albany suburbs, one hundred and thirty miles north
- 2:29Speaker 2: of Manhattan. It's an eleven tons seventy five foot Norway
- 2:33Speaker 2: spruce tree donated by the Russ family. It was planted
- 2:37Speaker 2: more than sixty years ago. This is good because the
- 2:39Speaker 2: last tree came from Massachusetts. So this is a New
- 2:43Speaker 2: York tree. Why don't they just get a fake tree.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Why don't they get just a big You could have
- 2:49Speaker 2: one made, a seventy five foot fake tree. You put
- 2:52Speaker 2: it in storage. Every year, you bring it out again.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's got to be cheaper than a truck cutting down
- 2:57Speaker 2: this thing and bringing this tree one hundred and thirty miles.
- 3:00Speaker 2: And isn't this bad environmentally? You're cutting down these trees.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Here's a sixty year old tree. Cutting it down. I
- 3:08Speaker 2: guess for the family, they don't mind. It screws up
- 3:10Speaker 2: their farm, but you can always say it was our
- 3:14Speaker 2: tree and Rockefeller Center so it'll be here pretty soon.
- 3:18Speaker 2: That's when you know summer is really really over. Hey,
- 3:22Speaker 2: Amazon laying off thirty thousand people. Now everybody says there's
- 3:28Speaker 2: this big AI employment meltdown coming that a lot of
- 3:32Speaker 2: people will get laid off due to this new technology AI.
- 3:36Speaker 2: You know, usually when it's new technology, it's blue collar
- 3:38Speaker 2: jobs that are lost. This is a whole different scenario.
- 3:41Speaker 2: These are white collar jobs that will be lost. If
- 3:45Speaker 2: you look at these thirty thousand Amazon people being laid off,
- 3:49Speaker 2: it's all corporate. It's not the warehouse, not that stuff,
- 3:52Speaker 2: although that could be coming. But thirty thousand corporate jobs,
- 3:56Speaker 2: you know, accounting, hr all, this sort of stuff. Thirty
- 4:00Speaker 2: and jobs. That's a lot of jobs. And then because
- 4:02Speaker 2: of AI technology can do a lot of this stuff.
- 4:06Speaker 2: A lot of companies that have a hiring freeze. JP
- 4:08Speaker 2: Morgan other companies said it's a hiring freeze and it's
- 4:14Speaker 2: just starting, it's just heating up. The AI stuff will
- 4:17Speaker 2: put millions and millions. Some estimates up to one hundred
- 4:20Speaker 2: million people could be put out of work by AI.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Hey.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Speaking of Joe Biden, new report comes out showing a well,
- 4:29Speaker 2: it's no surprise, you know, he was a vegetable, a
- 4:32Speaker 2: zombie for years in the White House. Didn't know where
- 4:35Speaker 2: he was or what he was doing. But a new
- 4:37Speaker 2: report has a lot of details about what they had
- 4:39Speaker 2: to do with this guy. If he had to appear,
- 4:41Speaker 2: and remember he barely appeared. Maybe once every couple of weeks,
- 4:44Speaker 2: you'd see him for five minutes at some little ceremony.
- 4:47Speaker 2: But apparently he had to use a lot of makeup
- 4:50Speaker 2: on him. They had to very strategically place everything so
- 4:55Speaker 2: he didn't have to take too many steps. In other words,
- 4:59Speaker 2: if you're going to do they had a room, and
- 5:00Speaker 2: they put the place the podium, right near the door,
- 5:04Speaker 2: so he had to take five steps instead of a
- 5:06Speaker 2: walk across the room. Even for the most simple little things,
- 5:11Speaker 2: just a little thing where he's going to greet somebody
- 5:14Speaker 2: and say a couple of words, a teleprompter had to
- 5:16Speaker 2: be used, note cards. All that stuff looks pretty bad.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And they're now in this report saying that all those
- 5:23Speaker 2: last pardons were definitely auto pen and if the president
- 5:27Speaker 2: didn't actually sign the part, and if it was an
- 5:29Speaker 2: autopen a lot of people think they can be legally canceled,
- 5:32Speaker 2: the pardon could actually be canceled. So that could get
- 5:35Speaker 2: pretty interesting. Now President Trump is in Southeast Asia. He's
- 5:40Speaker 2: been Japan, there's Korea, there's China, there's Malaysia. It's a
- 5:44Speaker 2: big long trip and you ever fly to Japan or Malaysia.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It's you're on a plane for like eighteen hours. It's
- 5:52Speaker 2: quite a flight. It's a grueling flight, and it's a
- 5:55Speaker 2: long trip. And the time difference is not two hours,
- 5:58Speaker 2: it's like nineteen hours. It's like an incredible disruption of
- 6:01Speaker 2: your circadian rhythm body clock. So Trump was seen and
- 6:07Speaker 2: in the Japan ceremony, he had to walk the red carpet.
- 6:11Speaker 2: And on fake news they are going crazy saying, clearly
- 6:14Speaker 2: there's something wrong with him, trying to make him look
- 6:16Speaker 2: like Joe Biden. Look at his gate, look at the
- 6:18Speaker 2: way he's walking. Just seems to be walking a little
- 6:21Speaker 2: slower than usual. But if you just spent eighteen hours
- 6:23Speaker 2: flying to Japan, you're in three countries and one day
- 6:27Speaker 2: you're going to walk a little slow. He just looks tired.
- 6:30Speaker 2: He's fine, He's fine. Don't fall for any of this
- 6:32Speaker 2: fake news stuff. Speaking of fake news, John Stewart last
- 6:36Speaker 2: night has Mom Donnie on zoron Mom Donnie, Stuart trying
- 6:40Speaker 2: to give him a helping hand, puts Mom Donnie on
- 6:43Speaker 2: the Daily Show. So you know where Stuart stands on
- 6:48Speaker 2: all of this. Mom Donnie, of course huffing and puffing
- 6:50Speaker 2: about everything.
- 6:51Speaker 4: I think it makes the most sense in the wealthiest city,
- 6:53Speaker 4: in the wealthiest country in the history of the world,
- 6:56Speaker 4: that we actually ensure we have the funding necessary to
- 6:58Speaker 4: make it a place that New Yorkers can afford. And
- 7:00Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to working with Governor Hockle.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, right now, the Mom Donnie team, who would he
- 7:06Speaker 2: put in city Hall? Who's going to be Well, it's
- 7:08Speaker 2: so far in the campaign it's the it's the Bill
- 7:11Speaker 2: de Blasio team. Bill Deblasio's people have been running things
- 7:15Speaker 2: for Mom Donnie, so people think when he takes office
- 7:18Speaker 2: it'll be a lot of the Deblasio people coming back.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Things were pretty bad under Deblasio, who is mayor for
- 7:24Speaker 2: eight years now. If there's an affordability crisis, you can
- 7:28Speaker 2: certainly blame Bill de Blasio for not fixing it. So
- 7:31Speaker 2: it looks like the same people, and again it'll be
- 7:33Speaker 2: a lot like Deblasio. Typical of these socialist Marxist candidates.
- 7:39Speaker 2: All talk, never actually get anything done. Nobody's ever actually
- 7:43Speaker 2: helped from it except themselves. Here's more of Mom Donnie.
- 7:46Speaker 4: So I will continue to make the case as to
- 7:48Speaker 4: why I think we need to increase taxes on the
- 7:50Speaker 4: top one percent by two percent. Why we need to
- 7:53Speaker 4: raise the state's top corporate tax rate to match that
- 7:55Speaker 4: out of New Jersey. And in doing so, this would
- 7:56Speaker 4: raise nine billion dollars, and that more than pays for
- 7:59Speaker 4: our economic agenda and starts to actually trump proof our city.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Well, that sounds good on paper, it doesn't actually work.
- 8:05Speaker 2: First of all, he has no power to tax the rich.
- 8:07Speaker 2: That's the legislature. He has no power to do that.
- 8:10Speaker 2: If you tax the one percent. First of all, the
- 8:12Speaker 2: top one percent pays forty eight percent of the taxes.
- 8:17Speaker 2: The top one percent now pays half the tax in
- 8:19Speaker 2: New York. So let's say you decided to increase the
- 8:24Speaker 2: taxes on that top one percent, let's say ten percent
- 8:27Speaker 2: of them leave. Well, you just lost about five percent
- 8:31Speaker 2: of your revenue right there. Let's say twenty percent leave.
- 8:34Speaker 2: You just lost ten percent of your revenue. So it
- 8:37Speaker 2: doesn't work. The rich can move wherever the hell they want.
- 8:40Speaker 2: They can also choose how they receive their income. They
- 8:43Speaker 2: can go tax free, they can move, they can do
- 8:45Speaker 2: whatever they want. And that's why you have a lot
- 8:47Speaker 2: of people in New York. You see a lot of
- 8:50Speaker 2: billionaires here in the years well they didn't leave. Yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 2: actually they did. It's no longer their residence. Their residence
- 8:55Speaker 2: is now Florida or Texas or somewhere else. It just
- 8:58Speaker 2: means they can only be in New York whatever. It
- 9:00Speaker 2: is one hundred and seventy five days a year. So
- 9:02Speaker 2: they watched the calendar. So there's a lot of these
- 9:05Speaker 2: wealthy zillionaire and these hedge fund guys who don't actually
- 9:07Speaker 2: even live here anymore, even though you think they do.
- 9:10Speaker 2: They just switch their residence. Hey, the shutdown continues, and
- 9:18Speaker 2: Trump wanted to pay the military. He didn't want them
- 9:20Speaker 2: to go without a paycheck, so he found a wealthy
- 9:23Speaker 2: donor to pay the military. It's one hundred and seventy
- 9:27Speaker 2: million for the month. That's how much they get paid. So,
- 9:31Speaker 2: believe it or not, he found a donor who donated
- 9:33Speaker 2: the money. And there's a way to do it perfectly legal.
- 9:37Speaker 2: The Pentagon has a fund that you can put money into.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Is sort of a gift and once it's in the Pentagon,
- 9:43Speaker 2: they can use it for whatever purpose they want. So
- 9:47Speaker 2: that's what happened, and he wanted this guy was such
- 9:49Speaker 2: a nice guy by paying the military salary one hundred
- 9:52Speaker 2: and seventy million for a month that he didn't want
- 9:55Speaker 2: any credit. He wanted it donate it anonymously. It was
- 9:58Speaker 2: just a gift. Didn't want to take any credit, so
- 10:01Speaker 2: he did it anonymously. And of course leave it up
- 10:04Speaker 2: to fake news New York Times all these things to
- 10:06Speaker 2: go crazy trying to figure out who it is. Some
- 10:09Speaker 2: thought it would be Elon Musk. You know, anybody's just
- 10:12Speaker 2: got an extra one hundred and seventy million his pocket
- 10:14Speaker 2: changing can donate that. That's like an Elon Musk at
- 10:17Speaker 2: Jeff Bezos. Well it turned out they found out it
- 10:19Speaker 2: was Timothy Mellon of the banking family, the Mellon family,
- 10:24Speaker 2: whose family's worth about fourteen billion, so they can easily
- 10:28Speaker 2: part with one hundred and seventy million. But they printed
- 10:32Speaker 2: his name all over the place. Now, one reason he
- 10:34Speaker 2: might now a he's not a guy looking for any credit.
- 10:39Speaker 2: You know, when you make a charitable contribution, or you
- 10:41Speaker 2: do something for somebody or donate, you should never tell anybody,
- 10:45Speaker 2: should never take credit for it. It's the old George
- 10:48Speaker 2: Steinbrenner rule. If anybody knows about it besides you and
- 10:52Speaker 2: the person you did it for, then you did it
- 10:54Speaker 2: for the wrong reasons. They didn't run any credit. But
- 10:56Speaker 2: also he probably didn't want to get attacked by these
- 11:00Speaker 2: that's crazy Trump haters, by the Trump derangement syndrome. No
- 11:04Speaker 2: King's crowd. He doesn't need them outside his house, picketing,
- 11:07Speaker 2: outside their business. That's probably the other reason. So, hey,
- 11:11Speaker 2: look at Kelsey Grammar, Frasier. Kelsey Grammar having a child,
- 11:18Speaker 2: another kid, his eighth child. He's seventy years old. Now
- 11:23Speaker 2: this gets a little complicated. Seventy years old and he's
- 11:26Speaker 2: having a baby, his eighth child. He is seventy. So
- 11:30Speaker 2: let's say the kid's fifteen and wants to play catch
- 11:32Speaker 2: with you. You'd be eighty five. You'd be eighty eight
- 11:37Speaker 2: when the kid enters college, you'd be well, you'd be
- 11:42Speaker 2: ninety two when he graduates. I don't know. The math
- 11:46Speaker 2: doesn't quite work on this. Hey, we'll get to the
- 11:48Speaker 2: election coming up. The dean himself, the best campaign director
- 11:52Speaker 2: of all ed Rollins, will talk to him a little
- 11:54Speaker 2: later about the campaign. Now, the problem is Mamdanni has
- 12:00Speaker 2: a total lead in every pole. Now, these are not
- 12:04Speaker 2: the greatest poles. These are these junkie college poles and
- 12:07Speaker 2: media polls, but they clearly show Mamdanni winning. A lot
- 12:13Speaker 2: of the big, big, big donors who always screw up
- 12:16Speaker 2: every race, always get it wrong, pushing Cuomo like crazy.
- 12:18Speaker 2: The problem with Cuomo, you know, he was really bad
- 12:22Speaker 2: as governor. He did every far left woke, kooky thing
- 12:26Speaker 2: you could do. You know, took away bail, no bail,
- 12:30Speaker 2: no jail. He closed the prisons, he let everybody out,
- 12:32Speaker 2: he closed Indian Point. You could go on and on
- 12:35Speaker 2: all these crazy left wing stuff. If you bring this
- 12:37Speaker 2: up to anybody, they'll always excuse it. They'll say, well,
- 12:41Speaker 2: I mean he was just catering the left. Yeah, well
- 12:45Speaker 2: back then he was catering to the left. Okay, that's
- 12:47Speaker 2: what he does. He caters to the left. It's going
- 12:50Speaker 2: to be worse this time because it's a much This
- 12:54Speaker 2: whole cater to the left stuff is worse today than
- 12:57Speaker 2: back then because the far far left AOC mam Donni
- 13:01Speaker 2: wing of the party has complete control. So if you
- 13:04Speaker 2: get into office, they're going to really come after you,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and he's going to cave to them again. Now, Hakim
- 13:10Speaker 2: Jefferies did not want to endorse mam Donni, but these
- 13:13Speaker 2: far left people in the party that run things told
- 13:16Speaker 2: him will primary you if you don't endorse mom Donni,
- 13:20Speaker 2: which terrified him, so he quickly endorsed mom Donni. That's
- 13:23Speaker 2: why they got Schumer as a hostage. They've told him
- 13:26Speaker 2: they'll primary him right out of the race. So when
- 13:30Speaker 2: Cuomo's in off, he's got to assume he's going to
- 13:32Speaker 2: want to get reelected and they'll tell him we're going
- 13:35Speaker 2: to primary you if you don't do this kind of stuff.
- 13:39Speaker 2: So the same thing happened when he was governor. So
- 13:42Speaker 2: he did all this kooky far left, crazy left wing
- 13:47Speaker 2: kind of stuff that caused the crime wave, that caused
- 13:49Speaker 2: most of our problems today. So that's the problem is
- 13:52Speaker 2: you get Cuomo in office, he always caves to those people. Hey,
- 13:55Speaker 2: we'll take some calls in a minute. Eight hundred three
- 13:58Speaker 2: to two one zero seven TENN is the number eight
- 14:01Speaker 2: hundred three two one zero seven ten give wr O
- 14:06Speaker 2: Bri said on the iHeart Radio app to hear Marx.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Simone and all the WOR hosts in an instance. Now
- 14:14Speaker 5: back to the Mark Simo show on WR.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh, let's
- 14:21Speaker 2: go to Danny and Parsipity, New Jersey. Danny, how you
- 14:24Speaker 2: doing good?
- 14:26Speaker 6: Mark?
- 14:26Speaker 3: Good?
- 14:26Speaker 7: Mark.
- 14:27Speaker 6: I just really hope that these cities are ready for
- 14:30Speaker 6: the chaos that's gonna ensue once they cut off these
- 14:33Speaker 6: SNAP benefits for forty million people on Saturday. Snap benefits,
- 14:38Speaker 6: the Snap benefits, the EVT and the food stamps. Oh yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 6: for people out there, and I'm sure we're going to
- 14:46Speaker 6: go shopping on their own. They got to feed their kids.
- 14:48Speaker 6: So I hope the cities are ready for it because
- 14:50Speaker 6: they're gonna eat food for their kids.
- 14:52Speaker 2: All right, Well, we'll see what happens. You never know,
- 14:53Speaker 2: this could get settled before that. That's Saturday. This is Tuesday.
- 14:57Speaker 2: There's still time. Let's go to Bob Mottvale, New Jersey. Bob,
- 15:02Speaker 2: how you doing good?
- 15:04Speaker 8: Hell are you?
- 15:04Speaker 5: Mark? Thanks for taking my call, but you know, I
- 15:07Speaker 5: couldn't help. But notice you guys running a new commercial
- 15:10Speaker 5: on the air there about NBC News and it's just
- 15:14Speaker 5: it's kind of funny how it's like false advertisements. What
- 15:16Speaker 5: do you mean it says fair balance and not opinionated?
- 15:19Speaker 3: Me.
- 15:20Speaker 5: Why you got Nicole Wallace state in that?
- 15:22Speaker 2: Well, no, that's not, that's not that's not that's not
- 15:24Speaker 2: has nothing to do with NBC News Nicole Wallace. MSNBC
- 15:27Speaker 2: is totally separate now, separate company.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Okay, I understand that, but it's like the same you're
- 15:32Speaker 5: going to see. They're going to fall in line with that,
- 15:35Speaker 5: but it's totally kind of not like truthful advertising.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I think, well, you know, uh, I'm not here to
- 15:45Speaker 2: defend NBC News, but most of our sponsors are really good.
- 15:48Speaker 2: We actually turned down sponsors on the show if we
- 15:50Speaker 2: don't think they're very good. But I understand, in general
- 15:53Speaker 2: is money. I understand. Oh, in general advertising, Let's say
- 15:56Speaker 2: a certain car company runs ads all over TV. They're
- 15:59Speaker 2: not going to say it's okay, it's not a great car.
- 16:02Speaker 2: You could probably get a better car. But then they
- 16:04Speaker 2: don't say that.
- 16:06Speaker 8: You got to understand.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, they think they're fair and they
- 16:10Speaker 2: think they're balanced. But you know, we check out sponsors
- 16:14Speaker 2: very carefully. We make sure they got the money. And
- 16:18Speaker 2: then now, actually we're pretty fussy about sponsors. But NBC News.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Just remember MSNBC no longer connected with NBC. They were
- 16:26Speaker 2: thrown the hell out. They've been evicted from the building.
- 16:29Speaker 2: They're moving to temporary studios in Times Square. Look for
- 16:33Speaker 2: the same thing. By the way, to happen to CNN.
- 16:35Speaker 2: You know, there's this big conglomerate, their own CBS. They're
- 16:38Speaker 2: looking to buy Warner Brothers Discovery, which will include CNN. Now,
- 16:43Speaker 2: the reason they want to buy it. It has the
- 16:45Speaker 2: third biggest streaming service, Warner Brothers has the biggest movie studios,
- 16:49Speaker 2: all this stuff. They want, HBO, all this stuff. But
- 16:52Speaker 2: when they buy it, watch the same thing will happen
- 16:54Speaker 2: with CNN. They'll throw it out of the company, They'll
- 16:56Speaker 2: spin it off just to get rid of it. It's useless.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Let's go to Kevin and Charlotte. Kevin, how you doing, Hi.
- 17:04Speaker 9: Good morning, Mark. How come nobody has asked Mandami to
- 17:08Speaker 9: name a truly affordable major Western city in the world.
- 17:14Speaker 9: By their nature, they're never going to be affordable. It's
- 17:18Speaker 9: just going to be less bad. It's not going to
- 17:20Speaker 9: ever be affordable.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yeah. No, Well, nobody asks because it's the media and
- 17:24Speaker 2: they're all Democrats, and they're all secretly pushing from Mamdani.
- 17:28Speaker 2: It's a problem when you have slanted media, partisan media.
- 17:31Speaker 2: They never ever, ever ever asked the guy any tough questions. Yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 2: you know, that's the other argument. If it's not affordable.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Many times the reasons something's not affordable, it's because it's
- 17:42Speaker 2: so great and everybody wants it, you know, like a
- 17:44Speaker 2: Rolex watch is not that affordable because it's the best
- 17:48Speaker 2: watch made and everybody wants one, and you got a
- 17:50Speaker 2: one year waiting list, So it's not so affordable. One
- 17:54Speaker 2: reason in some cities are very affordable. Nobody wants to
- 17:57Speaker 2: live there and it costs nothing to live because everybody
- 18:00Speaker 2: moved out. When your affordability crisis is there, it means
- 18:05Speaker 2: it means people are coming in here spending millions to
- 18:08Speaker 2: live here. Let's go to Bonnie and Tom's River. Bonnie,
- 18:12Speaker 2: how you doing, Hi.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Good morning. I have a question to ask you about Mundamne.
- 18:19Speaker 1: If he gets into office and they prove that there's
- 18:23Speaker 1: dark money involved and they replace him, who is he
- 18:26Speaker 1: replaced with.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Well, they can remove him, believe it or not. Even
- 18:29Speaker 2: if he wins, there's still a chance he'll never serve.
- 18:32Speaker 2: If they can trace that dark foreign money to him,
- 18:35Speaker 2: show that he knew about it and took foreign money,
- 18:38Speaker 2: they can remove him. He will not be the mayor.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I think. Then we end up with the public Advocate,
- 18:43Speaker 2: who's Jimani Williams, who's no bargain either, but better than
- 18:46Speaker 2: man Donnie, and then I would I'm pretty sure there
- 18:48Speaker 2: would then be a special election. He let me go
- 18:52Speaker 2: through this again, I know. And now, Bonnie, if he's elected,
- 18:58Speaker 2: can we all move to Tom's River? What's good down there?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Jacky?
- 19:03Speaker 8: Oh?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, well good luck with that. We hope, we
- 19:06Speaker 2: hope he wins in New Jersey. Let's go to Rich
- 19:09Speaker 2: and Myrtle Beach.
- 19:09Speaker 8: Rich.
- 19:10Speaker 2: How you doing?
- 19:11Speaker 3: Hey?
- 19:12Speaker 7: Thanks Mark. You know, if you had a perfect world,
- 19:13Speaker 7: you'd have an eighty percent turnout on tomorrow and then
- 19:17Speaker 7: you'd have a Curtis win. But you know this mom
- 19:19Speaker 7: downy character. They got more of him all over the country.
- 19:23Speaker 7: This is a litmus test for the country, and they're
- 19:25Speaker 7: going to try to take over some of these cities
- 19:28Speaker 7: like the London mayor did with and allow all the
- 19:30Speaker 7: Muslims everybody. And then they just got plenty more. Mom,
- 19:33Speaker 7: Donnie's just waiting to see how this one turns out.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yeah, supposedly, Soros and company have twenty six more, Mom
- 19:37Speaker 2: Donni's lined up to run in various cities. If you
- 19:40Speaker 2: want to see how bad it gets, look at Chicago,
- 19:42Speaker 2: look at London. They've already gone through this disastrous experiment. Oh,
- 19:47Speaker 2: let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 19:50Speaker 3: Good morning, malaelm okay. I agree with you. I believe
- 19:53Speaker 3: the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree should be an artificial tree
- 19:57Speaker 3: because all these environmentalists never speak about what about all
- 20:01Speaker 3: the animals that have lived in those trees, the birds
- 20:04Speaker 3: and the other animals for a million years. And now
- 20:07Speaker 3: all of a sudden they don't have a house. And
- 20:10Speaker 3: where do they go? Uh? Mark to the first call
- 20:13Speaker 3: of the reason why all our top big cities. Uh,
- 20:17Speaker 3: they're all usually Democrats are so unaffordable, you think, guys,
- 20:21Speaker 3: thank the state and local governments with all the freebies
- 20:24Speaker 3: there they're giving away. And speaking of Mondamie, I'm already
- 20:29Speaker 3: looking at real estate in old Saybrook, Madison, Connecticut. Vincent, No, no, no,
- 20:37Speaker 3: that would just be my place to blow off steam marked.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I'm already I'm seriously, I'm already looking. I'm serious.
- 20:43Speaker 2: You're a type of guy.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Nah. I mean, look, I the sound isn't far away.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I could go fishing.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Nah, I could see you in Fairfield County, but old
- 20:55Speaker 2: Saybrook is way out there. They got one sort of
- 20:57Speaker 2: nice hotel with a restaurant on the water, but nice rest. Really, Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 2: there's not much going on. There's a couple of It
- 21:03Speaker 2: wouldn't be for you.
- 21:05Speaker 3: All right, Mark, This is about one other question. How
- 21:07Speaker 3: does Bill O'Reilly know unless it's an exit poll, which
- 21:11Speaker 3: people could lie on, how did they How does he
- 21:14Speaker 3: know that Manhattan Queens and Brooklyn are going for MONDMI
- 21:19Speaker 3: because if they released those results, oh they're breaking sixty
- 21:23Speaker 3: percent for Domi Central, et cetera, that would have disincentivize
- 21:27Speaker 3: other people from going out.
- 21:29Speaker 2: And yeah, well he's just there are people doing exit
- 21:31Speaker 2: polling and it's coming from the campaign. So but you're right,
- 21:33Speaker 2: it's not the most reliable.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Of course, you could lie on it. I wouldn't. Yeah,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I'm sure you wouldn't tell somebody who you you'd say
- 21:41Speaker 3: just the opposite, just to screwed them up.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's not always the most reliable method. But
- 21:45Speaker 2: we do know one thing, Vincent, thanks for calling, great call.
- 21:47Speaker 2: We do know one thing. Turnout is five times normal,
- 21:51Speaker 2: So we could get to something like nineteen ninety three,
- 21:56Speaker 2: was it ninety three or eighty nine? Yeah, the first
- 22:00Speaker 2: time Giuliani ran, he lost to think it second time,
- 22:04Speaker 2: the turnout was incredible second time, incredible turnout and it
- 22:08Speaker 2: just barely put him over the top. So same thing
- 22:10Speaker 2: with Curtis. This is his second time. Anyway, when we
- 22:12Speaker 2: come back to Dean himself, the best political analyst of all,
- 22:16Speaker 2: he's run more campaigns successfully than anyone. We'll talk to
- 22:20Speaker 2: Ed Rollins next on seven to ten w R.
- 22:23Speaker 6: Mister New York Mark Simone wor Well, let's talk to
- 22:30Speaker 6: the Dean himself.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Ed Rollins has run the most successful campaigns in the
- 22:35Speaker 2: history of American politics, and he's with us now. Ed Rollins,
- 22:38Speaker 2: how you doing. I'm good to go. Yeah. So turnout
- 22:44Speaker 2: now reported to be five hundred percent above usual turnout.
- 22:47Speaker 2: What does that mean at thes.
- 22:50Speaker 8: His great great animosity towards Mondami by older voters and
- 22:55Speaker 8: great enthusiasm by younger voters. So he's exactly what it says.
- 23:00Speaker 8: People are out there turning out, voting early, and I
- 23:02Speaker 8: think to a certain extent it could be a record turnout.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, is this good? This early? Voting? People voting? You
- 23:09Speaker 2: know a lot of people like might have missed some
- 23:11Speaker 2: of the things that are developing this week. Should should
- 23:13Speaker 2: there be this much early?
- 23:14Speaker 8: But yeah, I think both sides are trying to get
- 23:18Speaker 8: the early voting because obviously a part of why Trump
- 23:22Speaker 8: lost the first time the second time when he was
- 23:24Speaker 8: running for re election was because they didn't do as
- 23:27Speaker 8: much focus on early voting. It's very much a part
- 23:30Speaker 8: of the game today and in the city like this,
- 23:32Speaker 8: particularly where there's no statewide organization in here, that getting
- 23:38Speaker 8: getting volunteers to go out turn on the vote is important.
- 23:41Speaker 8: So yeah, I always tell people whenever you get your ballot,
- 23:44Speaker 8: whenever you're ready to vote, go vote. Don't delay it.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Now. You gotta remember, we got the Democratic candidate, and
- 23:51Speaker 2: Curtis is the Republican candidate. Cuomo is a third party candidate.
- 23:56Speaker 6: You ran third party is well, you ran the.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Most successful third party campaign in history, the Ross Bureau campaign.
- 24:03Speaker 8: Uh well, would have been more successful if Trump, if
- 24:07Speaker 8: pro would have stayed in the race. You know, he
- 24:09Speaker 8: dropped out and came back again. But there's there's certainly
- 24:14Speaker 8: in this This is a very Democrat city obviously, and
- 24:17Speaker 8: and I think to a certain extent, DOMMI having the
- 24:20Speaker 8: Democrat nomination, and it's the mine is very important to
- 24:25Speaker 8: find Cromo and you look at your ballot, it is
- 24:28Speaker 8: a good c ballots. I mean Clomo's way buried. Didn't
- 24:32Speaker 8: see that. He'll find him. Yeah, and you still have
- 24:35Speaker 8: you still have the mayor and mayors. Even though he's
- 24:37Speaker 8: dropped out, he's still there, so he'll get some votes.
- 24:40Speaker 8: But right now it's clear it's it's a close race.
- 24:43Speaker 8: It's ten points what the latest pools show. That's probably
- 24:46Speaker 8: what the private poll show. And that's a competitive race.
- 24:49Speaker 8: You know.
- 24:49Speaker 2: The only thing I don't think there we're looking at
- 24:52Speaker 2: these junk polls, these college polls, media polls, public polls.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I don't think there's any actual internal polling being done.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Clomo's not spending the money, Curtis isn't, So how do
- 25:00Speaker 2: we really know, Well, we.
- 25:03Speaker 8: Won't know to elections there to do that. Yeah, yeah,
- 25:07Speaker 8: I mean I agree totally with you. There's too there's
- 25:09Speaker 8: too much, too much pulling, and it's not accurately put together.
- 25:14Speaker 8: This is the city. Tell tell me where the votes are.
- 25:16Speaker 8: Tell me where Colmo's votes are. Is Colman doing well
- 25:18Speaker 8: in Staten Island? Are not doing well in Staten Island?
- 25:20Speaker 8: He's doing well in Staten Island, then he's got is
- 25:22Speaker 8: part of his base covered, but older voters clearly will
- 25:25Speaker 8: be a Coma voters and young voters are clearly going
- 25:27Speaker 8: to be Mondammi's voters.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Yeah, So if a guy like Cauoma and you're ten
- 25:31Speaker 2: points behind and you got one week left, what do
- 25:34Speaker 2: you do that final week? How do you how do
- 25:35Speaker 2: you handle that?
- 25:37Speaker 8: Well, you get your ass out there in campaign, and
- 25:39Speaker 8: you know he's got some negative commercials, but there's not
- 25:44Speaker 8: much selling him. I think to a certain extent, people
- 25:47Speaker 8: got it. Clearly a little way of Copa know how
- 25:50Speaker 8: to do the job. I've seen very few of his commercials.
- 25:53Speaker 8: I've seen tons of Domi's commercials.
- 25:57Speaker 2: That whole He's never managed anything, he's never run along
- 26:00Speaker 2: large organization. How effective is that with voters?
- 26:03Speaker 8: Doesn't mean any means something to the old voters. You know,
- 26:06Speaker 8: if you're if you're going to fix some of those
- 26:09Speaker 8: manage it. You picked the mayor. The mayor just finished
- 26:12Speaker 8: still managing trying to manage the city, and certainly Camo did.
- 26:16Speaker 8: Colman didn't end on a high note. So I think
- 26:18Speaker 8: to a certain extent, you know, it's it's two personalities.
- 26:22Speaker 8: It's it's the danger of the young guy who's claims
- 26:26Speaker 8: to be a socialist in the old guard the old
- 26:28Speaker 8: guard throughly the young ersu of the old guard.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Hey, the idea of Cuomo running have you ever seen
- 26:34Speaker 2: this before where a guy leaves office in disgrace and scandal,
- 26:37Speaker 2: it's a total disaster, and then five minutes later he's
- 26:39Speaker 2: running again. Have you ever seen that before?
- 26:43Speaker 8: It's happened. It's not it's not the actual pattern to
- 26:46Speaker 8: get the like. But you know, I think my disappointment
- 26:49Speaker 8: in Plomo is that, you know, he's run campaigns, he
- 26:53Speaker 8: knows how goes the city will and knows the steavewell,
- 26:55Speaker 8: and yet he's run kind of mediocre campaign And the
- 26:58Speaker 8: idea that you take time off when you get on
- 27:00Speaker 8: a race late, just you know, ten days you didn't
- 27:02Speaker 8: campaign at all is system sir?
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah. And the idea of pushing Curtis out of the race.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Now you ran the biggest third party campaign rossbro. Were
- 27:10Speaker 2: they trying to do that? Were they trying to push
- 27:12Speaker 2: him out of the race back then?
- 27:14Speaker 8: Absolutely? But they do it aren't successful. They put a
- 27:18Speaker 8: lot of a lot of pressure on me, but at
- 27:21Speaker 8: the end of the day did back.
- 27:23Speaker 2: And same thing like the big big money donors all
- 27:26Speaker 2: get ganging.
- 27:27Speaker 8: Up doesn't mean anything. I mean, you know, if you
- 27:32Speaker 8: think Mondamie's people are going to go drop out of
- 27:36Speaker 8: the race for go vote for some miles because the big,
- 27:38Speaker 8: big money guys are in, there is just the opposite.
- 27:40Speaker 8: That's their message to the messages that big money guys
- 27:43Speaker 8: aren't going to run the city.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Ed Rollins. Nobody has seen more campaigns
- 27:48Speaker 2: more racist than you. You got more experience than anybody
- 27:50Speaker 2: at this stuff. Is it possible the polls have just
- 27:53Speaker 2: gotten this entirely wrong.
- 27:56Speaker 8: I wouldn't say they got it totally wrong. I would
- 27:58Speaker 8: say that there's momentum going now towards towards Cromo that
- 28:02Speaker 8: may alter the race. And you always got to remember
- 28:04Speaker 8: polls are four or five point off just simply by
- 28:08Speaker 8: the the statistics. So the race could be almost even now,
- 28:14Speaker 8: I would I'm not predicting that, but I think, I think,
- 28:16Speaker 8: I think to a certain extent Colmo Cmo has still
- 28:20Speaker 8: has a shot.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, there is a certain amount of cheating in
- 28:24Speaker 2: the even the Democrats will acknowledge that, you know, a
- 28:26Speaker 2: little funny business with the machines that they'll argue it's
- 28:29Speaker 2: only one percent or two percent, But could that make
- 28:32Speaker 2: a difference, because that helped Mom Donnie.
- 28:34Speaker 8: One or two percent can make a difference. Yeah, if
- 28:37Speaker 8: it comes down that close race, My sense is he's
- 28:41Speaker 8: The question now is he's certainly leadings to a ten
- 28:43Speaker 8: point lead the most recent public poll the suffect Poole.
- 28:48Speaker 8: But is that is that is going to get closer
- 28:51Speaker 8: to fifty, is closer to fifty than survey. Curtis's will
- 28:54Speaker 8: is going to have a big impact. Curtis's vote has
- 28:57Speaker 8: dropped off somewhat, but it's still still twelve percent, which
- 28:59Speaker 8: is enough to change it. It's a three way race
- 29:02Speaker 8: and not a two way race.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Now the way that Mam Donnie could have been defeated.
- 29:05Speaker 2: You need to bombard everybody with negative ads about Mom
- 29:08Speaker 2: Donnie just stay and night. When it's usually the big donors,
- 29:11Speaker 2: the packs that do that. Where were they? They weren't
- 29:14Speaker 2: here in this race.
- 29:16Speaker 8: There's some but they're not they're not clear. That's not
- 29:18Speaker 8: there's not one or two issues. Uh, I mean, there's
- 29:21Speaker 8: there's fifteen different issues. And they try to make it
- 29:24Speaker 8: too much about racial things that they now have. They
- 29:28Speaker 8: now have them. You know, his constituents were all worked up,
- 29:32Speaker 8: so you know, and I think the thing the investment
- 29:35Speaker 8: interests me ALC's support. They understand Pernie Sanders coming in here.
- 29:41Speaker 8: Uh and I think to a certain extent, these young
- 29:42Speaker 8: voters are unhappy with what's going on and turn them on.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Hey, it's the best campaign manager ever. What is Mam
- 29:49Speaker 2: Donnie's secret? Is it the way he talks, the way
- 29:52Speaker 2: he looks.
- 29:52Speaker 8: The very very charism I mean, I've watched him quite
- 29:56Speaker 8: a few times. I watched the bats. He's very charismatic.
- 30:00Speaker 8: You know, call him a socialist doesn't doesn't mean any
- 30:03Speaker 8: what's the socialist? You go to find that and you
- 30:06Speaker 8: have to. You know, they've argued his inexperience, Well, he
- 30:08Speaker 8: had thirty four years old. Most of these young people
- 30:10Speaker 8: that move for him don't have a lot of experience.
- 30:12Speaker 8: So that's not the issue. The issue is can he
- 30:14Speaker 8: get the job done and to take the city in
- 30:16Speaker 8: the direction you want to go and these people want
- 30:19Speaker 8: to change.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Yeah? Now, if he wins, Yeah, if he wins, will
- 30:24Speaker 2: we get Will we get through this? Okay?
- 30:27Speaker 8: Sure, sure we've we've had we've had bad majors before.
- 30:32Speaker 8: But it's certainly gonna's certainly gonna have an impact on
- 30:33Speaker 8: the city, the impact, the quality of quality of life
- 30:37Speaker 8: for a lot of people will change.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and now Donald Trump, you wouldn't recommend him coming
- 30:41Speaker 2: in endorsing Curtis or Cuomo or anything like that. He
- 30:44Speaker 2: might have a negative effect.
- 30:45Speaker 8: In democratic state, he clearly could have negative effects.
- 30:50Speaker 2: So huh, you know what about I've pitched this but
- 30:54Speaker 2: it got turned out. What about him endorsing mom Donnie?
- 30:57Speaker 2: You think that could hurt mom, Donnie?
- 30:59Speaker 8: That would hurt the young people think there's a plot
- 31:04Speaker 8: scheming that this is always a Trump plot.
- 31:06Speaker 2: So yeah, well the idea was quickly rejected.
- 31:11Speaker 8: Yes, the die is cast.
- 31:14Speaker 2: All right, Well, Ed Rolins will check with you again.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Thanks for the wisdom, and get out, get.
- 31:18Speaker 8: Out and vote. That's the key thing. Yeah, pack your candidate,
- 31:22Speaker 8: get out and vote, and learn something about your candidate
- 31:24Speaker 8: before you vote. WT.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's important. Everybody, get out and vote. Ed Rolinds
- 31:28Speaker 2: will talk to you again soon. Thanks for being with us. Great,
- 31:31Speaker 2: all right, take care. Yeah, well that's important. Get out
- 31:35Speaker 2: and vote. Hey, now, besides this Merrill race, this is
- 31:38Speaker 2: important you got to get rid of. If you're Manhattan,
- 31:41Speaker 2: you got to get rid of this da Alvin Bragg
- 31:43Speaker 2: who lets all the criminals out. He believes in no
- 31:46Speaker 2: jail for criminals. First day in office, he put that
- 31:48Speaker 2: out in a memo. We will not seek carceral sentences.
- 31:52Speaker 2: In other words, we're not going to put people in jail.
- 31:54Speaker 2: You got to get rid of this Alvin Bragg. If
- 31:56Speaker 2: you're in Manhattan, vote for Maud Marrin. She's a Republican candidate.
- 32:01Speaker 2: She'll turn the DA's office back into law enforcement, putting prisoners,
- 32:06Speaker 2: criminals in prison. That'll help if you get mum, Donnie,
- 32:09Speaker 2: So make sure you vote for Maud Merin. Also the
- 32:11Speaker 2: city council get rid of as many Democrats replace some
- 32:14Speaker 2: of the Republicans. This is a good buffer against anything
- 32:18Speaker 2: Mom Donnie could do. So you can get out and vote.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Very important. Do it today, do it tomorrow, Get out
- 32:24Speaker 2: and vote as soon as you can. Don't forget coming
- 32:27Speaker 2: up at noon, Buck and Clay, great show right here
- 32:30Speaker 2: on seven to ten wor mister New York mar Simone,
- 32:34Speaker 2: he's on sevent ten woor. Well, hey, what exactly is
- 32:40Speaker 2: that Cuomo momentum? Well, the latest poll is it's one
- 32:44Speaker 2: of these college poles. They're not that great. But Cuomo
- 32:47Speaker 2: had been twenty points behind. It shows him rising up
- 32:50Speaker 2: to ten points behind, well, still not great. Ten points
- 32:54Speaker 2: behind is ten points behind. One thing that's interesting if
- 32:57Speaker 2: you dig into the metrics and the pole, if Curtis
- 33:02Speaker 2: were to get out, only thirty six percent of his
- 33:05Speaker 2: voters would go to Cuomo according to this poll, Suffolk
- 33:08Speaker 2: County Suffolk University poll. So if you add that thirty
- 33:11Speaker 2: six percent of Curtis's voters, that gives Cuomo another four points.
- 33:14Speaker 2: So if he got Curtis out of the race, he
- 33:18Speaker 2: would still lose by six points according to the poll.
- 33:21Speaker 2: But we still got time. It looks like about twenty
- 33:24Speaker 2: five thirty percent of the voters in in early voting.
- 33:28Speaker 2: We'll update you tomorrow. We'll have even more information about
