- Casey: Did you get scared? I hope not. Well, maybe I do, but we're here at the Mention It All Again podcast with a very spooky episode. And I am one half of your favorite team, Casey. And I'm here with what adjective do I want to give today? With the well-spoken and caring Blake. Blake: I was hoping you would say the morbid, disgusting, rotting corpse, Blake, Casey: Okay. Blake: since it's Halloween. I mean, come on. No, I see that's you know what? I feel like it's important to Casey: Like God forbid I try and think of like a nice compliment, like actually like specific to your personality. Blake: hold your friends accountable and let them know what your boundaries are. And even though it's it's tough, it's Casey: Alright. Blake: not easy to have these hard conversations, and I do appreciate Casey: Ha ha. Blake: where you're coming from. However, in the theme of this episode, I think you could have gone with something a little bit more ghoulish for our real ghoul wives of Halloween Casey: Mm. Blake: Town. that's the that's what we're calling it. I just decided that on the spot. Casey: The real spook wives of Blake: Of where's another Halloween place? Of Salem, Massachusetts. Spooky Hollow. That's a good one. Well, we'll workshop that. We'll workshop it. Spooky Hollow is actually Spooky Hollow Casey: Go f spooky hollow. yeah. Or where's I low-key am kind of a wimp, so I don't like like Blake: is actually like in it's like an hour up north. Like there's like a town and it's really cute. It's like Terrytown slash Spooky Hollow and it's just this really cute Halloween town vibe that like I went to two years ago. Right before it blew up on TikTok and it was like adorable because I was gonna go to Salem, Massachusetts, side side lore. which and then I heard just you absolutely should not do that 'cause it's like Disneyland for Halloween, it's a nightmare. Yeah, wait, actually? Casey: Never ever ever. I lived there. That's where I got this hat. If you're yeah, if you're listening, I'm wearing a witch hat today for today's episode. Trivia. Is this the first time I've worn a hat on this podcast? Beep, beep, No, it is not. Go back and stream our Blake: Way Casey: best of Countess Luann special live in-person episode to see the first time I wore a hat Blake: duh. Casey: live. On the air. Everyone's like, we're not doing that shit. Like Blake: They're like, we're we're not going b we don't know you guys that well. Casey: Ha Blake: Like, there's someone's like, I just tuned in last week, like, absolutely the fuck nah. I'm not gonna do that. thanks for thanks for asking though. Like you're assigning me homework Casey: My narcissism. Blake: on my favorite podcast. I I added favorite, and I hope that's what everyone thinks about this podcast. Casey: Right, we're just g well, I'm being narcissistic, we might as well add in favorite. I'm assuming you're going back to look at me in a different hat. That's not even that different. it just doesn't have flip the point. Blake: Well, it's y that's true. I I guess it's like well, I would say that a witch hat and a fedora Casey: Whoa. Blake: a top hat, whatever it was, are slightly different, but they're both black. did you say you're Casey: So ugly. But yes, I got this hat in Salem, Massachusetts. I lived there for two years and I love Salem. But Salem during basically August, October, November, December. Don't go. Do not come. Do not come. Do not come. It's wild. Blake: Yeah, no, I was I was told that like even parking was like a hundred dollars. So I and Casey: yeah, the churches start selling their parking for tourists. that's yeah, yeah. Blake: Okay. Alright, so what happened to a house of refuge? What happened to what happened to housing those in need when when what what that is that's so disgusting. And so like Casey: No, it's bad. I think the town like begs them too though, because like literally one of the years I was there, the Blake: You pr they probably have no option. Casey: mayor did post like do not come. Like he was like, if you live in this state, like too many people are coming from out of state, like please just wait for another time. If you live like locally, like come come in January, like please do not come. Cause I lived there and that's why I eventually moved, 'cause I like those like months of the year were just too insufferable. Blake: Impossible. Casey: Yeah. Blake: Yeah, well unfortunately Sleepy Hollow, it's an hour up north of New York City. It like when I went there when I first moved, it was genuinely my god, why how has nobody found this? it's actually like what I thought Salem would be, but nobody's here, but the houses are decorated and every storefront has cute like window art and they like do this competition with the local I think middle schoolers or elementary school kids where like each lamppost they like design a scarecrow to go on every lamppost and it has like who Casey: cu. Blake: did it, what it's supposed to be And then the Sleepy Hollow High School was very spooky and and awesome and whatever. It's like a amazing. But then I went back this year and it has become TikTokified. it was impossible to just sit down unless you had a reservation for a place. Everything was booked. it was just honestly not even pleasant to walk around. And I noticed maybe this was out of in protest or something, but like people didn't put up as many decorations this time. Like it felt like they were like, do not come. Like they probably were getting like Casey: Do not come. Blake: Don't Salem my Sleepy Hollow vibe. So I literally was like to my boyfriend, I was like like it was six. We had gotten there at two or three. It was six o'clock, I like, I wanna go home. We're like I don't wanna be here for the evening, I wanna go home. This is not fun. so yeah. But you were saying that you're a you're a wimp, you don't like scary. Casey: I am. I'm like not I am a very naturally paranoid person. I I think validly, I think the world we live in is fucking terrifying. So I back myself. But like I don't feel the need to like Seek out being scared. I'm scared every day. To quote Duranda Bedley. I'm scared every day. I don't need to like seek out my thrills. Like I I've got them. I've got them in regular life. I date men. I'm a straight woman. I get my jump scares every single day. So no, I'm Blake: You have to Casey: not often like hell's yeah. Let's go watch this movie where a bunch of women get cut up and killed. Woo! Blake: That is a that's a that's a that's a favorite theme of the horror genre is women you know meeting a very disgusting cro gro grotesque demise. yeah, I mean I do yeah, I mean it's at your fingertips, all you have to do is open hinge and then it's like, my god, what the fuck was that? Casey: Right. Horror movie is right there. it's a vertical, it's a micro drama on the hinge app. I'm micro dosing my horror films. But sometimes I I do it. Like sometimes I dive in and I'm like, I actually kind of like that. Like I would say my favorite horror movie, even though I've seen like probably less than ten, low selection numbers, but is Midsummer. Have you seen it? Blake: I love Midsummer, yeah. Casey: Love. Great film. it's scary, but it's not just scary to the point of being scary and it's not so close to my real life. they're in an isolated spot. Right. Well, I Blake: I would hope not. Casey: actually did date a Swede who was horrible to me, so sometimes I'm like, that looks kinda nice. can they book us? Can they can they can we stay? Blake: I I I wish I wish I wish she would have just thrown me in a pile of like sticks and burnt me alive. That would have been a much better end to the relationship. Casey: No, not that wouldn't I'd be the May Queen. Like what are you? Blake: right, sorry, I forgot. That's I I know someone got burnt alive at the end. Yeah Casey: No, I'd put him in the bear suit and kill him, and I would become the May Queen with my new cult. Blake: I need to watch that movie again. Clearly I don't know what I'm fucking talking about. But I did I Casey: That was low key a spoiler if you haven't seen it. Sorry. Blake: But if at this point, if you're on your Halloween, thirty-one Casey: It is old. Blake: days of Halloween watch list or whatever, you should be near the end of that and hopefully midsummer was not close to the end of that. Casey: That's a great film. I actually just reposted an edit of that to It's the Midnight Sunkissement. It's really good. I'll send it to you. Blake: I I do love Halloween. It's my favorite holiday. I love being scared. I love spooky. I actually do like I because the thing is it's like people are like you like to be scared. It's like that's definitely like an element of it. Like I being like under like a blanket, like, my god, no. But Also, I just like the horror genre. I think it can be very campy. I think that the things they do visually Casey: Sure. Sure. Blake: can be interesting. Obviously it can also be very shitty and like they'd like to remake a lot of movies and make them worse and like the tropes can get boring. But generally speaking, and per my shirt, Halloween, the actual movie Halloween, is my favorite Halloween movie, with Michael Myers. It's just you have a s a classic slasher. It's not like crazy gory 'cause it's from the seventies and also like it's on Halloween. So it just you get the atmosphere and then you get the like slasher vibe of it all. Just you can't go wrong. Casey: I don't think I have a favorite Halloween movie because I'm not like I have a lot of favorite Halloween TV episodes. I have a list of television shows that have great Halloween episodes. some of my favorites are Brooklyn Nine Nine, Psych, they have really, really good ones. there's like a few on like a lot of sitcoms have like holiday episodes throughout. Like Blake: Yeah Casey: there's a like I feel like there's probably a good office one. I know there's a good New Girl one, where one of them thinks that they had an email relationship with Batman and they dress up as Batman. Off topic. But another one is The Real Housewives franchise, which it was actually a segue I didn't even think of until I was mid-sentence. Blake: I was gonna say I I low key was like, Can she shut up so I can make the segue? Because I had it in my head this whole time. But honestly, but no no, it's okay. You're the queen of segues, that's your job on Casey: Ha ha Blake: this podcast. And honestly, like if you didn't think of it as you were talking about Halloween TV episodes, I would have been like, Did she lose a couple brain cells in the last week since we last recorded? No, I know, I know, I know. Casey: Okay, but it wasn't like why I said that. I was actually I don't have a Halloween favorite movie because I don't wanna watch anything that scary. I like the T V ones 'cause they're lighthearted. It's just like the cast and costumes, getting up to mischief. Scooby-doo. I like Scooby-Doo. How 'bout that? That can be my that can be my one. Blake: Yeah. Honestly, I love love Scooby-Doo. Love Scooby-Doo. And I will say why I love like the Real Housewives Halloween episodes is because it has nothing like they're not trick-or-treating. They're not like it's not gory or anything. It's just like I like to see how other people celebrate Halloween. And I like to see how these women in their various like cities and like towns and homes and whatever, like what they do for and shockingly listener there aren't that many Halloween episodes. you would think with how what seven eight franchises and like with twenty years of Housewives that there would be like a good amount. But like upon our research, there's there's really only like a handful. So that's perfect for us because then we get to make an episode about all of them for you. But that's what we're gonna do today is we're going to cycle through all the Halloween episodes from at least the ones that we've seen. I think when I was looking, I was researching and there were some like New Jersey ones too, as we've mentioned. Casey: I know, I d I didn't pick them. Blake: Yeah, as we mentioned, we haven't, you know, seen those. So these are gonna just be the other ones. But even if we add New Jersey, it'd like two extra episodes. but we're just going to go through like the Halloween party portion of that the episode. And show you what they did, what they dressed as, what the vibe was. We're not really gonna discuss much of the drama 'cause it would be out of context and weird. if something's important Casey: Czy some? Blake: Yeah, if something's important we'll mention the context, but we're here really just to show you how these women get creepy with it. How they get spectacular with it. Casey: Absolutely. Couldn't have said it better myself. And we're gonna start. We're in a destination that we've been to recently on the pod. We're gonna start in my hometown. Well, no, I don't wanna live there, but neither do the housewives. But it's in my home state of Maryland. We're Blake: Yeah. Casey: gonna be starting with the beautiful Potomac women. And this episode that we watched, reviewed, analyzed is in season four, and it's episode 12. And Robin is throwing a birthday party for Juan. turning 40 and she's doing it at like a haunted forest and I have been here where this birthday party is. Of course I have. Like it's the DMV culture. Blake: Yeah, whenever we talk about Potomac, you're literally like, I've been to that courthouse where Karen was arrested. I've seen that street where she drove into a tree. I've been to this haunted forest. Like, you know ball. Casey: It's true. It's true. Blake: When it comes to Potomac Casey: Haunted Forest, there's two like that were around me growing up. One of them is this one. This one was the scarier one than the one that was closer to my house. and yeah, what a goddamn good time. You get to stand around around a big fire, get a little hot chocolate, go through like a little haunted trail. And that's exactly what they're doing. They're just having my typical night out in like middle school. That was where I went to like kiss boys before I like could have them over or had a car or anything. Blake: That's a very it's it's like that's exactly where I would expect teenagers to run off to, but then also that's exactly where I'd expect like a movie to be like teenagers go to make out here and then they get killed. Casey: It's So crazy that you say that because as I just mentioned, I'm a naturally paranoid person. Every time Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: I am at one of those types of things, whether it's a haunted house, a little trail like that, I cannot help but think, God, this would be a great time to murder. Like no one would even think that you're a murderer. Like they would you'd be running up to them, like, rah, rah, I'm gonna kill you. And they're like, Yes, yes. Like, Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: crazy night, what an easy target. And then you can just run away and no one's gonna even know because everyone else is in masks Blake: Hehehe Casey: and face paint. So that was always my thought. I'm like, what if like I'm like trying to calm myself like no it's just someone in a costume. It's just someone in a costume. Nope. Real murderer. Snuck onto the trail. Stab stab stab Blake: I think everyone, well, most people, like kind of inherently feel that way when they're at like a haunted Casey: Yeah. Blake: house. Like obviously 'cause like you know that they're actors and it's fake, but there's always that like part of you that's like, what if they just like didn't stop when they got close to me? Like what if they just kept going? And then it's like right. Casey: What if that was a real chainsaw and they just Blake: And it's just over for you, and they run away. Casey: What a gag. Blake: What a the w what a great way to describe getting brutally murdered. Damn, what a gag. Like imagine you're like the person in front of you in line at the hall like as you're in the Halloween, like haunted s haunted house, they get absolutely murdered and you're like, damn, that was a gag. Like, was that Casey: I would be so gagged. I would be gagged in my dead spirit. my spirit would be like, no. Blake: Yeah, your the ghost would leave your body. You would preemptively die. You'd be like, No, you don't even get a chance, sir. Like I'm already dead No Casey: You what the heck? But really, really quick life insert, which is why also I was in high school and some friends and I like it was like we were first years in high school, so not cool enough to have plans, not old enough to drink, but wanting to like take pictures in cute costumes. So like I had friends over and we like weren't gonna go trick-or-treating 'cause we were old, but we're like, let's just go like on a walk around the neighborhood 'cause we had nothing to fucking do. And we go on this walk around my neighborhood and we're like, you know, taking Snapchats, like gabbing. And we see this person like staring at us from like behind like my neighborhood sign in like a full cloak and mask. Kind of like, my god, like that's funny. Like that's kind of alarming. Like, let's just carry on. And we just start walking and he's just sit Blake: Heh That's mildly off putting. Casey: and they're and they're just staring at us. That I guess I don't know their gender. I just assume it's a man because men are men are scary. Like it had to have been a man. But like literally picture this. We're all kind of like some of us are like looking back a little bit. We're trying not to we're trying to like feel like it's fine. He starts dead sprinting after us. No no no no no no no no No no no no no no no Blake: hell no. Casey: so I'm like everyone let's go up to this house up to this house and we're like slamming on this woman's door Let us in and we're good looking young young girls so at least we weren't like you know like she wasn't gonna get pissed at us like it was our odds of getting let in were pretty high but like she definitely looked for a second like my fucking god like I don't know if I should let these young ladies in and I'm like please please like please And she lets us in and we called my mom to come and pick us up. And he was standing across the street from her house watching us get picked up the entire time. Like how alarming. Like, you know, like real Blake: my god. Wait, that sounds Casey: murderer or like disturbed kid like wanting to like scare people. Like who knows? Like, but it was horrifying. Blake: Whatever it is, it you committed you committed to the bit a little bit too hard, you might have committed a crime in search of a Halloween cheap thrill. that's that's like on that's not cool. Casey: No, it wasn't right. we all just kinda had to repress it. it was really frightening. Blake: Also though it's like if I was if a bunch of people started knocking on my door let me in, I'm like, are you pranking me? am I am I gonna get kidnapped now if you like if I let you in? Casey: Right. I wouldn't. Me as someone who lives alone, no, I'd be like, I'm about to get sex trafficked. this is like a mob of sex traffickers like coming into my home. Yes. Blake: Right. The kids the kids are like they're hired th or they're like they're part of it. they're like they're pawns or something. that's Casey: People do that. That's what I mean. Of that's why I get so paranoid because everything that you can think of has happened, at one point or another. sex traffickers have used young, innocent children to go up to people Blake: Ha ha ha ha. Casey: and be like, please help me. And then boom, you're going to the to the thing. All right, dark. Blake: Right. Right. So b we back back back to our p Real Housewives of Potomac Halloween night of fright. I'm like we don't wanna Casey: Wait, what's scarier than all of that though? Michael Darby. And that's how we get right back into the topic. Blake: And guess who's in the episode? There's there's your segue. There's the your queen of segues, everyone. You should have for Halloween, you should have for this podcast rolled up with like one of those like segues Casey: Yeah, a segue. Blake: and then been like, I'm I'm I'm here to segue everyone. but Casey: One like Blake: so like Ashley and and Michael are driving like through this curvy, windy, like forest that's really dark and Ashley's like terrified. She's Where the fuck are we going? And Ashley's like, I don't really like understand why Robin picked a haunted forest for Juan's 40th birthday, which like it's I guess his birthday's color. It's like a h she says his birthday's in the fall, which is a very large time frame. That doesn't mean it's actually close to Halloween, but I'm gonna assume it's like close to Halloween. And Michael goes like Juan loves Halloween like I do. And he loves having fun like me. And that's why we bond on that level. And aside from the fact that everyone knows that he like wants to fuck Juan. Wan I mean, yeah, Michael wants to fuck Juan, Michael during the season, which we'll get into this season, I'm sure, in the near future, he's facing allegations of grabbing a male producer's ass, and then he also had just recently drunkenly at the club at the curb said that he would suck Juan's dick. So in the context of that, with that as the backdrop, he's like gushing about like Ashley's like Casey: Right. Blake: a weird thing for a 40-year-old man's birthday and he's like, well actually it makes perfect sense because he loves Halloween, I love Halloween, and actually he loves to have fun, I love to have fun, and that's why we always bond so closely. And Ashley's like Right. And Casey: that's not what connects y'all. don't don't play. Blake: Ashley's just kind of like driving, okay, I She's kinda like, okay. Casey: She is. But they're like arriving to this event with the news to bear fully that Michael has been vindicated, quote unquote. Because obviously, we know this is temporary vindic vindication. If you even believed it for the second, which like I never did, but like maybe you did and I don't want to shame you. So like temporary vindication, because they got rid of the charges. Like the charges have been dismissed. We talked about this a little bit. We alluded to it in the aftermath when we just did our season five recap of Potomac that Monique had cameras in her home at the time that Michael did this and allegedly Blake: In her basement Yeah, they were Or it it happened yeah, we literally just talked about this, so again, we're not gonna do the emotional labor of explaining it to you. But like real quick recap, Monique was it was at her house and there weren't cameras in the basement. Allegedly it happened in the basement, so that everyone's like, n we don't have camera footage of it. So I guess like the the charges were dropped because it was like Well, it happened in the one area of our home where we don't have footage of it 'cause we record every room of our home for some reason. so we arrive to this right Casey: Whatever. They're riding high. they're happy. They're all ready to tell everyone. every single person that approaches them. They're like, Did you hear? And Giselle. Giselle is kind of like, so no charges. Nope, no charges? Like we got rid of the charges. Can I get a high five, Michael? High five? Blake: Ha ha ha ha. Casey: And Michael's just like stone faced, like, No, no. And obviously she's like, We don't even believe this. Like she's literally clowning him, but Blake: No, exactly. Giselle is fearless. Like Giselle when she clocks in, she means business, like and she knows how to run her goddamn fucking business. And her business is her mouth. And that's what she runs. And it's fucking crazy 'cause she just immediately it's like they're kinda s like sta 'cause also more context, Ashley didn't tell anyone that Michael was coming and like people are kind of like weirded out by Michael, so like they didn't really like they don't want to be around him. But they were like, we're bring we're bringing him because surprise for Juan and which is does he want that? but like so so Giselle's like, Michael, you're here, hey. And then like it's kind of awkward for a second, and then she goes, So no charges. Can we get a high five for no charges? Casey: No charges. Blake: And like obviously they're they're like happy about it, but they don't wanna like get into it, you know, like the nitty-gritty of why. Casey: They want everyone to accept them as guests of this party with the knowledge that he's innocent. you don't get to say anything now because we're cleared. So even though you didn't know he was coming, you have to be okay with the sudden intrusion of a Blake: Right. Casey: maybe sexual predator, like definite, as we know. Blake: Alleged, unalleged, dropped, undropped. we don't know. Casey: You know, so like there's a weird vibe at the gathering. Like the air is just a little like I'm like, I don't know if I'd want to be at this one. If I was at this haunted forest, I'd be with a family over by a different fire, like having like a can caramel apple. Like it was like not looking Blake: I think I would I think I'd be Casey: fun. Blake: I'd be having a kiki with the fucking guy with the chainsaw. I'd be like, Do you mind if you Casey: Yeah. Blake: use that on me? Cause my friends, it's really fucking awkward over there. Could you just maybe in half? It would be really quick and painless. And then I don't have to go back over there. Cause it's that guy that guy grabbed a guy's ass. And Casey: Mm-hmm. Blake: then the guy with the chainsaw would be like, I got you. Mm-mm. Like cut me right the fucking half. Right. Casey: And then it would be a real murderer, and then he'd be dead. Blake: But I but that's what I wanted. That's what I asked for. He's respecting my boundaries. Casey: Right. Perfect. This one time it would be perfect. Blake: Right, this one time where I want ever the only time in history where someone has asked to Casey: Yeah. Blake: be brutally murdered. But this is there's not really much in the way of like the event itself other than we get this amazing clip of the Real Housewives of Potomac going through this haunted house, which I'll fucking play. Casey: Yeah. Blake: So if you're just listening, at the end of that, there this like kind of short clown actor, like in full scary clown garb, walks up to Karen who's just kind of minding her business, and he starts honking a horn in her face, and she looks at him and flips him straight off. Like she's like, I don't gaff, like I'm not scared. Like I've dealt with scarier things in my life, such as three DUIs at this point. And we got a fourth down the pipeline. So Casey: Right. Prison on the way. What's even funnier Blake: Ha ha Casey: is that normally like the people like the actors doing this were like young theater kids. So like She's flipping Blake: Right. Casey: off like a 14-year-old, like who like is trying to get some acting creds like for his for his dossier. Like But Blake: Ha ha. Casey: hey, well, you know, to each their own. And you know, I hope they enjoyed. And I hope that if I ever go back there that I will run into them somehow. But I don't think that they're gonna go back because Michael tainted the event with his sexual harassment energy. So let's move on to another Halloween party that Michael Darby is not poisoning with his negative aura. And we'll go on over to the Hills, the Beverly Hills. And I would say that like this is a group of women that I would never expect to have great Halloween episodes because by Blake: yeah. Casey: by large, what's the expression? By and large, Blake: Yeah. Casey: by and large. That sounds wrong. These women are boring and boring people are not good at costumes. boring people do like the bare minimum for costumes and are not the people Blake: Yeah. Casey: that I like to spend my Halloweens with. But this one isn't their worst. Blake: Well, it it's not their worst, but it does make a lot of sense to what to your point where it's like th it's like Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, whatever, people are just like, Let me hire this guy who did the special effects makeup for alien and just have you basically put me in like this costume that I had to do no work for. It wasn't thoughtful on my part. It's not niche. It's just me showcasing that I can afford someone to make me look good. It's either that or it's just like People in Playboy bunny suits and and I'm I'm Casey: Yes. Sexy. Blake: a sexy cat and it's like alright, that's we don't We have three We have three three sexy Casey: Speaking of, we have a sexy cat at at this Beverly Hills event. Blake: cats at this event Casey: Different different fonts. But the event that we're at is Kyle's throwing her daughter Farah a birthday party 'cause her birthday is on Halloween or at least very close to it that they're having the party on Halloween and they're calling it Faraween. And like, you know, like I guess like happy fucking birthday Farah, but like I don't really like give a shit. Like why does Farah's birthday have to be an event? Like I don't really like I don't know. Blake: And I'm sorry, but you're not gonna commandeer my Halloween party and make me have to care and share like the fun of dressing up and just being spooky and stupid and listening to the monster mash and patting my puss and then it's like, guys, by the way, can I just shout out and give this like thoughtful, heartfelt speech to my daughter and talk about our like trials and tribulations and everyone say happy birthday f like I'm not doing a Casey: Right. Blake: Singing happy birthday and then going back to the Monster Mash or thriller, we are just Casey: Agreed. Blake: girls and ghouls and ghosts tonight. We are not c congratulating Casey: So true. Blake: anyone, there's no birthday fucking cake. and it's also just Casey: Well Blake: like, shut up, Kyle. You know what I mean? Casey: Agreed. Well in what? Fair's thirty, something relatively around that age, she's turning. And like if I'm Far's friend and I'm like, Hell yeah, Faro Ween, like I'm so excited for Faroen, like this is gonna be a this is gonna be a lit ass night. And then Blake: A sentence that nobody has ever literally said ever. Casey: And then I get there and Teddy Mellencamp and Edwin are next to me on the dance floor. I'm going home. Blake: Ha ha. Casey: I'm going home. I'm sorry, but like I love the Housewives and like maybe me as a Housewives fan would be living. But like if I'm just like a regular friend of Farah, like I'm like, who are these women? Like, why why did she invite her mom's friends? And why are there cameras that aren't even for her? They're for her mom's friends. Like, that's not my birthday tea. Like, that's Blake: Well that's my Well, that's my point. it flips in reverse too. it's not only you're like you're aggrieving Casey: Yes. Blake: the attendees of the Halloween party, you're aggrieving the attendees slash the main event of the birthday party, which is Farah and her friends, and it's like now we have to do this weird thing where it's like, You're here for the Halloween party, but at some point we're gonna have to sing happy birthday, but we're my god, costume is amazing, but also like I'm gonna give a speech and like shout out my my my beautiful daughter and her friends and what she's gone through, but also everyone woo woo it's just like Casey: You're like trying to party like stumbling off like to go throw up and the producers are like, Stop, stop, Kim Richards and Lisa Vinner are having a one-on-one. you can't go this way. I'm like, Whoa, I can't do this. I gotta go like somewhere different. But I Blake: Yeah. Casey: and it's like extravagant, you know, in the way that Kyle Richards is and like you said, LA is and they have a a Ferris wheel called Ferris Wheel. Innovative. You g Blake: my god, I almost I almost wanna I wanna rip my ears off. I didn't honestly when I was watching this scene only because only because we have we have recapped season well not the whole season but we did the Rina versus Casey: We did the fight. Blake: Kim feud episode go back and stream it it was a good episode but this is one of those scenes where they get into it so I've we've watched this before so I was really just trying to capture the parts that were Halloween y of it. And so I was skipping through it and I did not hear that. But if I had heard that, I would have fucking I would have grabbed my TV and thrown it off the fucking wall. Casey: Fair as well. Blake: Farah's wheel! Farah Ween! Farah shoot myself in the face. my god. pick a theme. I'm sorry, pick a theme. honestly, Farah, you should have your birthday the day before or the day after. It's not that hard. Casey: I agree. And you could still wear costumes. most people dress up multiple times for Halloween. So you could have done it any other time. Farah, if you're Blake: Yeah. I don't even I don't I don't even blame Pharaoh. this is clearly a Kyle Richards problem. this is a creation of her sick mind. But it's just like Casey: listening, we're not we're not mad at you, Farah. We we loved your Farah's wheel. Blake: Farah, come on the podcast. You can vent about it. I'm sure you hate it too. But they do have a fucking Ferris wheel, but also ever I will say, I will say everyone does sort of Casey's like choking. I will say that No, it's like enough. But everyone I will Casey: Sorry, a fucking Ferris wheel. Blake: say, for the most part, does kind of like put their puss into their costumes. Teddy and Edwin are Joker and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad and I think they look fucking phenomenal. not in a not an original costume, but they Okay. Well I was you know they look fi Casey: I think that's generous. They look fine. They look fine. They look like they went to Party City and did a decent job. Blake: okay. And then we ha well moving on to Erica. See this pissed me off. Erica is a sexy cat, but it's literally she's wearing this cocktail tight but short dress and it's just like cheetah print and then she has ears on. And then she's otherwise it just looks like she's like going out to dinner with her friends and then going to the club after, obnoxious. I don't even Okay, you know what? I'll take it back. I feel like I was getting ahead of myself and just excited to talk about things. And I said that they all put their puss into their costumes, but now I'm like, fuck it, whatever, mask off. They didn't. And I know you didn't. I know you didn't Casey: I low key didn't agree, but I was gonna let you roll into it. Blake: from the immediate reaction you had to to Teddy and Edwin and that was No, but like they Casey: I'm sorry, they just didn't look phenomenal. that was way too hard. I don't do I've never done that. I'm I report the facts. I Blake: Okay, as if you've never glazed a Bravo Lebredy before. You're so nice to people. Casey: am I am stone cold, a hundred percent accurate, I have no biases. Zero. Blake: Right. And that's why you cry on the podcast and get emotional when the word Whitney is brought up the word Luann. Casey: I'm literally tearing up already. my god, stop, stop. I could feel it coming. God. Blake: Aaron and Denise come as like it seems like a renaissance couple. Like it's kinda just like a v that see, they genuinely just like ripped open a plastic bag at Party City and just threw on something. you know what? I sound so stupid now that like I were going through Casey: Yeah. Blake: the costumes. Kyle is a Playboy Casey: Yeah. Blake: bunny and And it's just like a the black corset with the bunny ears, but her costume broke, so she's like stuck in it, and then PK brought her like a larger size, and then she's like, Okay, like help me get out of this, and he rips it off of her. And she's like, dude, if you got the wrong size for me, like now I'm fucked because you ripped Or sorry, Mauricio, Mauricio. Casey: PK ripped her out of her corset. I wasn't Blake: You know I don't care about these men. I didn't even know. Wait, what if we what if we Casey: I wasn't not been paying attention. Why was PK ripping her out of her corset? Blake: What if we started just making up what happened in the episodes and then seeing if people notice? throwing in bombastic but small details like that. And it's like, Casey: Ha ha ha. Blake: did you notice that I said PK was ripping off Kyle's costume? Casey: I almost believed you because I don't pay that much attention during Beverly Hills. So I'm like, but why? Why Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: does she select PK to bring her a new corset? And then he ripped it off of her. Like that feels inappropriate. Blake: You're like, wait, I really should go back and watch that scene. okay, there's there's some sauce. Casey: Sometimes things really fly under the radar in the Bravo verse. Like I've never I've never seen that before. Blake: But speaking of PK, he arrives as Carl Lagerfeld, who is that fashion guy who I think also like has sexual assault allegations. Allegedly, I don't know. We're gonna move on. Casey: He's dead now, I think. Blake: he's dead. Okay, that's interesting. Casey: Yeah. Blake: good for the people he might have sexually assaulted, I guess. And then if true, can you defame Casey: If ch if that's the case, alleged allegedly Blake: a dead person? I feel like I should know that. I don't think so. Well Casey: We yeah. Blake: We're not gonna we'll ha we'll start a new podcast called Mention It All Again Legal and we'll get into that kind of stuff. But Dorit is literally just one of his sexy kittens. She just looks like a chic cat. and of course, like this is the iconic one of it all. Rina as Erica at Coachella Casey: I love it. Blake: I love her voice. Pat the puss honey. Like Casey: And like even funnier than the costume, like immediately like I mean she like is in character As Rina Jane, whatever she like makes up this character to be the whole night. And we we talk a little bit about we play the clip. I I'll mention it briefly in a moment, but she like definitely kind of upsets people, but it becomes contentious when Kim Richards arrives as like a gangster. She's wearing like suspenders. She kind of looks like a train conductor a little bit. but a gangster, I guess, is the technical label they give her. Blake: Yeah, I was I was like it just she's wearing like suspenders, pinstripe pants, and then like a white like tank top, but it's meant to look like a tuxedo top or something. I mean, Kim's is also one of the like you go to like Spirit Casey: Yeah. Blake: Halloween and it's like it's like woman gangster and she was like, Fuck yeah. She Casey: Nineteen nineteen forty Chicago gangst Blake: She doesn't even have like a like a fake gun or something, and I'm like, that Casey: No. Blake: would have been so cunt if she showed up with a fake gun and just tried to like shoot Rina. Like she was like she was like, bitch, you wanna you wanna fuck with me? You wanna fuck with Kim? And then she had like a moment where she tried to kill her, like fakely. I think that would be we like instead she just kind of you know, if you listen to her episode, instead she just kind of like gets really distraught by by Rina's behavior, but I think it would have been funny if she like, I'm a gangster bitch, you're dead. And now you're dead. And you're gone. And you're dead. Casey: It would have been something. Cause there's not all that much that happens, but Rina, upon Kim's entrance, is so gagged at this and is like, What? I had no idea. I really feel like someone should have told me, given me the heads up, you're shocked Blake: Ha ha ha ha. Casey: that that Kim is at her sister's party for her niece. Right. Blake: let's lest we forget that this is half a birthday party. I besorry, it's called Farah Ween. No one else in the world is named Farah except for Kyle Richards' daughter. So and if you are named Farah, then for the purposes of me saying that, no you're not. anyway. And then so to top off, to complete our cat trio, we have Camille Grammar who arrives as Catwoman, and Dorit has a funny confessional where she's like So I am the fashionista cat, Eric is the exotic cat, and Camille is the stray cat 'cause they fucking hate each other for the most petty reasons. Anyway. That's really all that happens. they get a group photo Casey: Yeah. If this is If this is your first ever episode, I'll give you a tidbit of what occurs. But go back into our feud, Kim Richards versus Lisa Renna episodes to get our in-depth review. But basically, Lisa Renna kind of like hides under the character of Renna Jane and like insults Kim and brings up the bunny of it all, which go listen if you don't know what I mean. But like, you know, she's like bringing that up again, and it's like that was really cunty. And like everyone's kind of like, and it's while they're taking a photo. So it's like the super awkward moment where everyone's like, wow, this is awkward. And you know, it's just like another random moment for them that didn't need to Blake: Can I just say Casey: occur, but Blake: It's yeah, unnecessary and obviously you have to at least give it to Rena for making this interesting because genuinely this party is not interesting. But I will say she's Erica Jane. that's so that's why she's using the word cunt and cunty. But like Erica only uses it to mean like that's fab, sis. And she like weaponizes the word cunty against Kim and she's like, That was really cunty, Kim, and I'm like, So you're actually complimenting her when you say that. Like that's not you should have studied up a little bit more, Lisa Rina. Casey: Right. It wasn't it wasn't quite everything, but it was something. And we're grateful for that anyways. It was something. Blake: It was something. It was something. And speaking of something, we move on to Real Housewives of Orange County, season nine, episode two. and this is one of two of Orange County, surprisingly, one of two of their Halloween episodes. season nine, episode two, Tamra is throwing a Halloween party at her house, and Heather is bringing Shannon to introduce Shannon to the women. Shannon is a new cast member. She was like We talked we poked fun at this during our our Trace Amigos, I think, recap. which again, go back and listen to that. w but like it's the the that fake introduction of a new cast member where it's like it's like Shannon is like Heather's well what was it, like realtor or something? Like something where it's like Tamara Casey: No, that's Tamra. Tamra's Heather's realtor. Shannon is someone that she knows through, maybe a doctor. Maybe Blake: Yeah, it's like it's like stuff that never comes up again, so it's clearly a made up way to segue into the relationship. But like so Heather's like, like me and Shannon Which is funny if you've watched the show, it's like, that's how she got started on the show. But so she's like, I'm gonna introduce you to the women and they go to they go to they show up to Tamra's house, and I will say like Tamra is the breakout star of like someone who cares about Halloween. like a Halloween y in this episode because she does actually do a really she got up she got a party planner. She made her home look very spooky, silly. She also was the only one who really dressed up, which I thought was annoying. if I like I I put it this way when I was watching it, it was like this is the most suburban white woman Halloween party I've ever seen. Because like literally the only one who is like dressed up for Halloween is Tamra. She kind of just looks like a a gothic hooker or a hooker who just recently Casey: Yeah. Blake: died or something. But it like it's cunt. She looks good. But Casey: She does look good. They all look nice. It's giving office siren, corporate baddie Halloween, but even people Blake: Yeah, or or like Casey: in an office would dress up more than they did. But they're all wearing literally business casual dresses, black dresses. they all look good on them, but it's not a it's Blake: Right. It's Casey: not a costume. Blake: at best at my most generous description, it's like American Horror Story Coven, like they're all wearing black dresses and just kind of trying to look like darker, but like it's if you Casey: Yeah. Blake: if you like picked like Vicky or Shannon well Shannon actually like didn't even try. the rest of them at least have a giant silver cross or something. But like Shannon truly is wearing regular clothes. But if you picked even like Vicky up and plopped her down into like church, it would be like, Okay, she's at church. Like, yeah. Casey: It'd be like fine. Someone might be like, Her makeup was a little dark today, but that's really about it. a big smoky eye. Blake: You would never be like Yeah, and she was like, even when they were doing their makeup, she like, I don't I don't wanna look scary, I wanna look normal and like I'm like, my but you are literally at a Halloween party, girl, go home and take your makeup off, whatever. So but yeah, Heather I can't tell if she would have done something spooky if she didn't have a giant zit in the middle of her forehead, but she does have a giant zit in the middle of her forehead, so she gets a third eye painted over it just to be like, ha, costume Casey: Mm. Blake: which I'll I'll pull that up for y'all right here. It's I mean it's it's cute. It's just an eye. It's just it's Casey: It's literally just an eye painted in the middle of her her two eyes. Blake: just an eye. Like I'm just like y'all like really fumbled like you couldn't Casey: It's not even like a detailed eye. It's like a I don't know, like an seventh grade level drawn eye. Like it's not Blake: It's like Yeah, and I bet she paid a makeup artist three hundred dollars to do that. Like Casey: I was just gonna say that. Like she you know she like called in some like big wig being like I need an eye over the sit. Like whatever, sis. Blake: but yeah, so basically like, you know, this was the main point of this event is just for Shannon to meet everyone. So like Vicky and Shannon bond over being Aries and like everyone's thinking that Vicky's gonna haze the new girl and they end up actually getting along. and like Casey: huh. Blake: they kind of spend like a good portion of the party like sitting outside just listening to Shannon trauma dump about how her life sucks or her her marriage sucks. And for the first part of it I was like Is this literally all they're gonna do is sit outside in their co like their quote unquote costumes and just like Casey: The bulk of it. Blake: Yeah. Like literally Shannon is just like David doesn't like to go out and do things, but I like to go out and do things and I'm like, whoa, I just met you and also like, can we play like the monster mash and like sh shake a an ankle or something? Like what are we we're just sitting down like what's going on here? Casey: By the way, that's the third time Blake's mentioned the Monster Mash. This is not sponsored by Big Mash, but we are fans of of the tune. Blake: I fucking love the Monster Mash. Like that is that is such a fucking good song. And in ho during like in Halloween, Casey: It is, it really is. Blake: when I'm out and about, like when it's October, I just like like randomly feel a fall chill in the air and I'm like, I have to stream. Like in my AirPods are just in. I'm like, I'm gonna put the Monster Mash on right now. Like, I need to like Casey: It's like that pic of Selena Gomez with the blanket and it's like she did the mash. She did the monster mash. Blake: No that's literally me on my couch. I'm just like I like I just finished doing the monster mash. Casey: Lokishi did the mash, but yeah, they they they're not doing the mash. They're just big chillin' and listening to Shannon and like Shannon is so me and like because I also overshare whenever especially when it's dull. Like I might as well use this for my own benefit and get some get some therapy out of this, get some things off my chest. But yeah, there's like, yeah, Shannon's Shannon's an open book. Like it it shows Blake: Ha ha ha ha. Casey: her like talking to this group of people that she's reading for the first time about her like deep Marital issues, which is so Shannon, perfect intro Blake: That's so shanning. Casey: to what's going on with Shannon. but then finally Tamara's like, okay, like let's get up from Shannon's trauma dumping and let's go inside and we'll read tarot cards and like do some some spooky-ookie activities, and they're like walking by, getting ready to go, do whatever Tamara wants them to do. And Vicki turns to Heather and goes, Heather, is that biblical? Blake: Ha ha. Casey: Like Is Heather is Heather the God? Blake: Heather is like the authority on what the Bible says. And Heather's literally like, I don't know, I'm fucking Jewish. Like don't fucking ask me. and it's just like Tarot It well it's funny because she's like is that biblical? I she's like, I can't fucking I can't do that And then they cut to a scene where it's like literally Vicky with a Ouija board and she's like Ouija board ghost Am I gonna like this new girl Shannon? And it doesn't move in one direction or the other. And like I'm like, okay, number one, like I was raised Catholic. I don't know if she's Catholic or just straight up Christian, either way, it's the same fucking thing. But like I at least know that a Ouija board, even if you don't believe in like God, that invites some negative dark spirits, but like a terr t Casey: Yeah, it depends on who you s talk to, but that's definitely a no for the devout, they would say no. Blake: Right. you would that should be something that like makes you ask, is that biblical more than fucking tarot cards? Tarot cards don't try to conjure up like any sort of like ghost at least. but anyway, yeah, basically like it's just and then I I also do have to say actually like this was a funny tidbit. so like they're Tamra's like, alright guys, let's go get some food. again, she hired a party planner and this is like a I will give it to her. Like her house is very much like recreated to look very spooky and like she did she put in the effort they have like a butler who has like a tray of champagne and he's like he looks dead and so she's like guys that like let's eat some food and then literally like Tamara has like a watermelon that is cut carved to look like a brain. And then a giant marshmallow carved to look like a skull and everyone's like, it the presentation's amazing, but watermelon and marshmallow, that's not quite exactly like an hors d'oeuvre in my opinion. Like I can't really be like munching on that. So I'm like, Casey: Got him hungry. Blake: Right, like and Shannon Shannon like her first like episode is she's like, I love to eat. I can't eat that. I'm like, Don't worry, girl, you'll have plenty of other opportunities to eat on the show Casey: Stop that's so foul That's so mean Flag red flag on the play Blake: No, that's mean. That's mean. But like I'm sorry, like there's so many gifts of her being like I Casey: Foul foul penalty penalty Blake: If there if there wasn't a literal gif of her going, I I love to eat or whatever, like I wouldn't I wouldn't have said it. Whatever. Moving on. Basically we end with like the women again sitting down and whatever, yada yada yada, but there is this funny moment. So listener, they're sitting down at Tamra's backyard in her patio, and then this this like actor dressed as a werewolf, like sneaks up on them and scares them. I thought that that like growl was an edited sound, but like the way they were talking about it, I'm like, did he just practice sounding like that? Like that's pretty impeccable. I have to that's like crazy. That's fucking crazy, I'm sorry. I'm Casey: You're so impressed. Blake: so impressed like I'm sorry, it was like I can't even I can't I wish we had a soundboard, 'cause like that would have been funny, but Casey: I would love to have a soundboard. Blake: I think look, once we once we Casey: I could just make it for you. I could just make the sounds. Blake: No, but my vision is that we would have like a like a producer slash researcher slash like soundboard operator where like they would without even telling us like take random things or sounds from the podcast and then like they would add them in while they're editing the episode and then it's like my god, no, you didn't fucking do that to me, did you really? So sorry. Yeah yeah Casey: silly. Alright. Blake: You're like you're like unin you're unenthused. But it's because you don't listen to podcasts, which like you listen to two podcasts and those are not those are not podcasts where Casey: Do you know that I hang, I good hang. I hang with Amy. Blake: they would have a mood board where they're like throwing in random fucking sounds. She's flipping me off. Y'all she's flipping me off Casey: Listen, I was I was good hanging with I was I was good hanging with Amy right before this. So she doesn't listen to podcasts. au contraire. Blake: Okay, well I've listened to podcasts where they have a producer whose shady boots and we'll do random like sounds of them and and then the person like the people on the podcast will be like, my god, I forgot I said that no and it's like that's I kinda want it like I want that vibe. Anyway, moving on to the second episode of s of Orange County, the second Halloween episode. So the so Gina Is hosting a Halloween circus party. but I I have to say, like, it's funny for essentially all I would say like 90% of these episodes, the beginning of the episode without fail includes a scene of like two to three of the women gossiping about the other women in like a costume store. And it's funny because like the backdrop is just Spirit Halloween, like one of them's holding a costume they may or may not buy, but they're just like in that backdrop and it's like the same motif and I think it's so beautiful. Like that actually tickles my that like scratches my Halloween itch to see them in that scene. but yeah, Gina's hosting this like circus party and it actually like she kinda shelled out for this party. Like it looks Casey: It looks good. when I started the ep, I was like, is this a Heather Du Bro party? And then I was like, Gina party. Blake: Same, same. Casey: Okay. I'm I wasn't expecting that. So props to the jeanster. The the Jean Jean. She she slayed this one. And since it's her party, she's the ringmaster. Her man is the lion. They look good. Like she her costume has more effort than his, but he doesn't need to do much. So that's fine with me. Emily is popcorn, which is a cute costume. I wonder where she got it from. It actually looks quite custom, but it's cute. But then again, pissing me off, Shane is the butter to her popcorn. But it's just like a printed, boardwalked, Blake: A graphic T. Casey: yeah, with a stick of smiling cartoon butter. okay. I wish he wasn't here, but I guess Blake: Shane has never wanted once to be in a scene that he's been in on this show. Casey: I don't know what Shane wants. Honestly, I don't care to know ever in my lifetime. Blake: He's a little bitch! That's my husband! Kelly, that's my husband! He's a little bitch! Well Casey: That's pretty good. Blake: Thank you, I've been practicing my Kelly Dot impression in the mirror. Have you can you Where's she? Hahaha Casey: Kinda scared me. I was like, whoa. Halloween spooky. I don't Taylor what's her last name? Armstrong is the friend of this season, seventeen. Blake: Armstrong. This is the this is the season yeah, she like did a weird crossover to Orange County for a season which kinda flopped, but yeah, she's here. Casey: I was like fine with it. I would have been fine if she wanted to continue on in that role, but nobody else wanted that. So alas, she's she's cotton candy, which is cute. I was like impressed with like the different like ways to like attend the circus. Like I liked that they were all sort of different things. Like usually when you invite people to a a party, there's always like a repeat and it's the boring people. But there actually was pretty good differentiation here. Tamara and Eddie are evil clowns. Blake: And the cotton candy sorry to cut you off, the cotton candy I just wanna for the for those who listen who are diehards, that's a callback to season like early season Real Houses Beverly Hills where Taylor was like deep throating cotton candy at the table randomly and everyone was like, Damn girl, you got the throat game. So she was doing a play on that. Casey: Callback. Blake: And she's fucking wasted, I should add. Casey: So drunk and not relevant to this episode, but she she takes that drunk energy and terrorizes Heather Dubro for three hours Blake: Ha ha. Casey: straight at this party. But we'll save that for another time. Tamra and Eddie are evil clowns and they had like a good like makeup person do like their like makeup and wigs and costumes. They look they look fierce. It's it's like a hot little costume. Jen and Ryan are a lion and a lion tamer. It's like it's nothing to write home about. Ryan is shirtless and everyone's like, why are you naked? Like that's not the vibe. Like we don't like that. Blake: He's giving gay gay guy Halloween, which he low key I'm not gonna necessarily say that he could be gay, but maybe I just did. Anyway, moving on. Casey: But they're all there first. And Shannon is a fortune teller and redacted he who must not be named John Jansen. I said it anyways. I'll redact it again. We'll redact it in post. No, I'm just kidding. he's like a magician. But Shannon looks good. Like it's like kind of like a pirate y fortune teller look. I think it's kinda cute. Yeah. Blake: Yeah, I thought it was like a bar wench at first and then it was like, she has a crystal ball and then it like, Okay, this is cute. Casey: Yeah, I thought so at first I was like, Huh, did she think it was a pirate ship? But then the four the the crystal ball, and I was like, Hells yeah. But they're all so jazzed about Heather DuBrot's arrival because this is like a big Heather takedown season. But she shows up and she is like in like a skin tight acrobat costume and Terry is security. Not my favorite for either of them. Doesn't really Blake: I'm just like Casey: look like the circus on either of them. Like, is does the circus you Blake: I just feel like it was one of those meta costumes of this is overall still an event that you're throwing, so I'm technically the security the event staff or whatever. It just to me Casey: Yeah, I don't like it. Blake: it was like like Terry Dubrow like is one of the house husbands I do sometimes appreciate seeing on my screen because he has like a personality that's fun and doesn't like give light misogyny. And Casey: He's not like evil, yeah. Blake: yeah, and so I'm like I feel like you like you should be more fun than that. That's why I was disappointed. Casey: Right. And yeah, like I said, drama, drama, drama, drama with Heather and pretty much everybody. And Heather tries to strike back against Tamra, picking someone to try and shift the energy onto someone else. And I do just like this line. Tamra like confronts her and is like screaming at the party, like, Are you kidding me? And Heather at some point while they're arguing goes, You are laboring under the misconception that I give a shit. Ooh. Blake: I I took notes of that too. Like I love to I just love to weave together like r rarely heard sentences. Like I just think like Casey: Mm, mm. Blake: if you can find a synonym, find the fucking synonym. And I think Heather Dubro does a very good job of that. So Casey: I agree. Blake: I appreciated that because part of me was also like, and this is really no shade. Like I love Tamra and you know, one day this this podcast might be bigger than two T's in a pod, and I'm sure we'll be in the same rooms, and I'm sure we'll Casey: Hundred percent. Blake: have to like mingle and and network. So this is really no shade at all. But I was low key, like, does she know what Heather just said? Like, is she like confused by the word choice? Like like I was like, I I don't even think t like Tamara's dumb or anything, but it's just like Casey: No, but they say that to her like in the earlier seasons more so than they do nowadays, but they're like, You use big words to try and confuse us. they literally like they the women Blake: Yeah. Casey: say that about themselves. So it's not even like a dig really. Blake: I'm like, yeah. No, anyway, it was it's a cute party. Like it's it doesn't really even feel super Halloween-y as much as just like a themed party. so Casey: Yeah, so true. Blake: let's let's fly across the country to the ATL for quite an iconic Halloween party, simply for the choice of costume. and we are season ten, episode eighteen. Candy and Eva are throwing a Halloween birthday bash. and it's held in of what is described as a quote unquote decommissioned church, which like everyone feels Casey: Is that biblical? Blake: like imagine Vicky she would Casey: Mm-hmm. Blake: probably burst into flames if she like even tried to attend. but like I remember I forgot who it fucking was. Someone was just like, Is it alright for us to be like doing a Halloween party in a church? And and yeah Casey: Yeah, I remember that. I don't know who it was either. It might have been Kim. Blake: people were like, yeah, it might have been Kim and people were like like y no, don't worry, they don't have they don't have services here anymore and I'm like, Well, but it it's literally still exactly the same building with the imagery and like n you didn't change anything. People just stopped showing up. So like that doesn't make me feel that much better about it, but I mean for me Yeah, for me I would love it. Casey: Right. It it is meant to be spookier but it it's definitely not not the vibe if you're super religious for sure. Blake: Yeah. Casey: But, you know, it looks like it's like it it fits a spooky vibe. It like if you saw the movie Sinners in the last couple of years, it like kind of like gives that type of like that's a horror a kind of like a light thriller rather than a horror. But like it's kind Blake: Yeah. Casey: of like they're in like a big space. It like looks a little like historic, like lights coming through the cool windows, so it's spooky in like kind of an antique way. It looks fun. It looks like a fun venue. Blake: Yeah, I think it's a great I think it's a great venue for a Halloween party. I that's coming from an atheist, sorry if that pisses anyone off, but I personally think that that would be so fucking cunt to go up to a Halloween party and it's like this used to be a church. But obviously these women, they love God, they love Mr. Jesus, so I can't fault them for being a little bit whatever. But let's run down the costumes. Eva is Cleopatra, and Sheree is also Cleopatra. I would say that they definitely did a good job of being different versions of Cleopatra. Like Eva is kinda giving if Cleopatra was in like a Scooby Doo cartoon. Casey: Yeah, it's like more like what you would probably draw if someone was like, Right now, draw me Cleopatra because you'd want it to obviously her, so you'd draw Blake: Yeah. Casey: a little bit of an exaggerated outfit, a little bit of exaggerated makeup and just so it doesn't Blake: Yeah, it's like Casey: look like a woman with a bob, so you had to make it look different. Charesse's is a little more understated. Blake: Right. And it's like a white Yeah, Eva has a white frock with gold and turquoise. And charade I think is what you would probably imagine if you thought of like sexy Cleopatra. It's like more like the meshy gold bob like I mean it's just very much different color palettes. Casey: you probably made half of it with something that you had in your closet already. you might have already had the dress Blake: Yeah. Casey: or you might have already had a headband, and then you went and bought something that looked slightly more Egyptian. But all the women definitely think Eva's is better or they just want to clown Sheree because they do like a confessional run through in the way that they do when they want the women to like be shady towards another woman and like every woman is like I like Eva's better and Sheree, who even knows what she was. So according to the the housewife Eva reigns supreme. I mean, it was her birthday, so classy of them to give it to her regardless. And she's gorgeous. Blake: And she was like a newbie too. I feel like you gotta just Casey: I mean, like she they both look great. Like they're both gorgeous women. They both look nice and they Blake: Yeah. Casey: both have like the bobs look good. Candy is like sexy penny wise. She looks great. Blake: She looks great. Casey: Kenya is a Victoria's Secret model. yeah, she's a gorgeous woman. This makes sense. This is one of those things where it almost like, I don't really want to see this costume. Like, I'm bored by a beautiful woman as a Victoria's Secret angel. Like, especially if you were a model, Blake: I just feel like Casey: like, that's like not that far off from your life. Like. Blake: Well, and it it reminds me again, I bring up gay Halloween, gay guy Halloween, but it's like gay guys post on Twitter every single year, basically, and I'm not saying this from a prude standpoint, because I think being sexy on Halloween's fun, but it's like at least be interesting or have a unique concept that allows Casey: I agree. Blake: you to be sexy. Like, yeah, Kenya's stunning, sh but she was a model and like a Victoria's secret angel is literally just lingerie and then you put wings on your back. Like it's not it's just it's b been there, done that. It's the same thing with Erica doing the sexy cat or whatever. It's like y'all are y'all have spent Casey: Right. Like Kenya, come on. Blake: forty five, fifty years on this planet and you're still doing that shit. I just feel like have fun. But she looks great. Casey: Right. Right. A lot of them Kim is a Playboy bunny. We've already seen this been done several times. Croy's Hugh Hefner, whatever. Blake: Yeah, that one I have to actually say is to me more offensive. Like I think that like Casey: Yeah, yeah. if we're ranking them, yeah. Blake: Yeah, like that offensive in the sense that like that is if someone were to ask you, like, list three like couples costumes, like top three most common, slash like Casey: I Blake: bless you. Slash top three sexiest woman Halloween costumes, it's gonna be Playboy Bunny. And then if you're in a c a couple, it's gonna be Hugh Hefner as well. So it's just it's just like you're phoning it in again and also she wasn't even full time this season, so I'm just like, Okay, you're a friend of like you whatever whatever, Casey: Right. Portia and her sister are like dead brides, dead zombie brides. They look good, the makeup's good, but again it's like kind of just like, okay, whatever. Blake: They look good. Yeah. You wore a a gown and then you put little scarring by your mouth. okay. it's cute, whatever. But Casey: Right. Blake: so we get three costumes that are actually worth getting excited over. Marlo shows up as Nisi from BAPS. black American princess, I believe is like what Bla BAPS stands for. And yeah, Halleberry. Casey: Halle Berry is the lead. Blake: And that is throwback to we also covered this when we did our Kenya Porsche feud episode, which ever again, go back I mean we're gonna say it every fucking time, go back and stream it. But Casey: Go back. Blake: when Kenya had that party to celebrate like black iconography and she s shadily made Porsche dress up as BAPS and she like didn't want to, this is the costume or like what I guess like Kenya wanted from Porsche and I think Marlo Casey: Yeah, at the very least it's the same movie. Blake: Yeah, and she looks fucking good. Ugh Cynthia. This is when we get the iconic debut of 50 Cynth, where p where Cynthia dresses up as 50 Cent, and literally everyone, like for the first five seconds, is Who is that sexy, delicious man? And then immediately stare at her and go, my god, it's Cynthia. And like it's just Casey: So funny. Blake: She looks fucking good. And I honestly, like, I love when a housewife does something that immediately Casey: Yes. Blake: becomes part of their thing that they could recreate in the future and it's not contrived and forced. It's like you have to bring this back again because it was so good, Casey: No, so good and this is again Perfect because Cynthia, obviously in one of the most gorgeous women of all time in the history of the world, when you're that gorgeous, Blake: my god. Come on cheekbones. Casey: you better be doing a funny costume. Like I don't need to see you as a Victoria Secret Angel. That's pretty damn close to your reality. If if we probably lived in a less racist country, you would have been one already. But like it would have been your Blake: Right. Right. Casey: reality. Like it should be. So like I don't really want to see that as your costume. Like, I want to Blake: But I Casey: see this. Blake: I f I also just have it's like she was sexy for me to do that for Halloween would be boring. Like let me think about what I could fucking do. And like Casey: Yeah. Blake: I think it's I love that she has that like that quirky ability to be like, I'm not just gonna show up looking hot. I do that every fucking day. It's boring. Casey: Totally. Blake: so I loved that. and Kenya literally like, my god, I was like turned on by her which evidently Heather Gay also said that during the Ultimate Girls trip. So Casey: The the repeat the the return of fifty cent years later had the same Blake: The return of fifty cent, yep, she's still Casey: impact. Blake: women are still squirting left and right for Cynthia as fifty cent. that and that's why, Casey, our episodes are explicit, by the way. Casey: I know. We were laughing earlier 'cause I like we were just talking, we we're we're business partners. We have to discuss we have to discuss the Blake: Ha ha. Casey: business. But I was like, I love how not one episode is not explicit. Like we be cursing. Like we be cursing. If if you're upset about that, I'm so Blake: I'm like who knows what's Casey: sorry. Like I can't stop that. I can't. It's like I Blake: If you Casey: I can't I can't. I can't. Blake: If you are a listener who really would love to listen to this podcast with your child in tow, DM us 'cause I would love to just understand and talk to you about that. I'm that's fascinating to me. Casey: my god. See, I feel like just let your kid just honestly just tell them to grow up. this kid can Blake: I don't Casey: learn. let your kid listen and let them start cursing now. Start now. Blake: Absolutely. Absolutely. No, I see I don't disagree with that. I'm just more like I want to talk to the listener Casey: I know. yeah, you were doing a good thing. Blake: who like has a kid and is like, babe, time to listen to our favorite podcast like together. Anyway, the la The Fuck Casey: Anyways, w the best costume of the night in our humble opinion. Blake: Let's Play the Fucking Clip. Greg Roach He was my favorite house husband, like a hands down, best house husband. Casey: Aw, Greg, we miss you king. What a king for this costume for playing along. Yeah. He's the only good one in Atlanta. Someone and I I just replied that to someone in my comment section the other day because they were like, Loki Phaedra should have stayed with Apollo. I was like, okay, you're getting blocked because that's sick. Blake: that's disgusting. What are you talking about? Casey: literally, do not defend a single Atlanta house husband besides Greg Leeks to me. I don't want to hear it. But love him so much. Blake: Honestly, if we ever did an episode ranking them, I think he might be top two or three for me, like easily. Casey: Off real, real quick, Greg Coach Shaw. That's really all I can think of. Blake: Yeah. Honestly, we we we maybe should just do an episode on that 'cause I think it'd be interesting. But Casey: It's just ten minutes and we talk about them too. But Love, love, love, love, love this costume. I love when a man is willing to go along with their woman's vision for a costume, especially when it requires them to be the butt of the joke. Which obviously Nene's in on it too, but he's the roach. She's leading him around. it calls back to their Blake: Yes. Casey: beef with Kim and like her saying that she saw roaches in in Nene's house. So like it it is a perfect costume. It's a couple costume that's perfect. It calls back on housewives history, it pisses off an enemy. Blake: that's that's Casey: It's a moment. Blake: that takes all the fucking boxes. And Nene in her confessional is she's like, we wanted to let Kim know we are laughing at her. Hee hee ha ha. The joke is on you, bitch. And honestly, like that is why Nene is an icon. Because the way that you like a lot of women just like are like, I don't wanna talk to her. She's I don't she's she offended me and my family, like sh disgusting. She's like, we'll be roaches. L I'll be an exterminator, bitch! Casey: Love it. Blake: let's fucking lean the fuck into it. just like that is so fucking good. And we have to end, obviously, with the one franchise that just blows the others out of the water when it comes to honestly like holidays generally. Like the Real Housewives of New York. There are five Halloween episodes, y'all. Five. Casey: They film during the h the holidays though, so they have the the advantage 'cause they're like the fall, winter, girlies. so they have that prime Blake: Yeah. Casey: time slot where they film through like end of October through like right before Christmas. So it is like fire for them, for our girls. Blake: Yeah. And I mean, they just like live in a city where like so much is happening. It's so easy to Casey: Yeah. Blake: go to anything that's themed. so we start with season two, episode ten. So really early on, and I fucking Alex and Simon are carving pumpkins, carving jack o' lanterns on their stoop with their kids. They live in Brooklyn, and they just They have such swag, I'm sorry. this picture is my platonic ideal of like what being an adult looks like. Casey: You know what I was just thinking was people want to like think they're weird at times. And like I'm I'm one of them. Sometimes they are weird. But at the end of the day, like these two love each other and like each other. And that is so rare in couples, especially married couples. Like this is goals, man. Like I just want someone who's gonna be a fool with me on camera, off camera, sit on my stoop, wear a witch hat with me, and look stunning. They look stunning. Blake: This is they look so fucking cool if you're listening. Alex has this like matrix zip up like fleece or something, like jacket. Simon has this like button up shirt, but it's like unbuttoned at the neck. they're both wearing these really of the time but like cool s glasses. And then they both have these witch hats on that are just kind of like they just look and they're sitting on their stoop, they They're like the railings are decorated with yellow and or or white and orange, just ghosts, and they have the two jack o' lanterns right behind them. It honestly looks like a movie almost. they are st Casey: It's lovely. And they're so unique and you know, like just watching their interactions are so funny every time, like on Rewatch, on however many times. Cause realistically, Alex isn't even on that many seasons, but like her time is Blake: She's not Casey: so strong. Both and Simon's really too. He's like a friend of basically honorary housewife. But I think they're so funny. It's like they're what I imagine what. An example might be if an alien planet sent down two aliens to be like, just live there and get some info. live a full life and tell us what the full experience is like. I think it's them too. they're not like anyone Blake: Yeah. Like they Casey: I've ever seen before interact. in a Blake: They are Casey: positive connotation. I I think it's admirable. Blake: If you opened up a dictionary and went to the phrase match my freak, like they would be the picture. Like that's them to a T. So Casey: It's true. What's the weird thing they did? Sorry, off topic, but what's the weird thing about that what they did during their birth? What w you know what I'm talking about. It's something with I feel like even this Blake: During their birth was it a Casey: is like we're pretty graphic, but I feel like I'm not even supposed to say this. It's like I feel like a like our audience is like, Are we babies? I was about to spell it out. It's Blake: Just just say it just say. Casey: something to do with jizz. It's something to do with jizz. He like He put it on her let me google it real quick 'cause now I sound fucking insane. Now this is Blake: I believe. Casey: like a crazy search. Simon Alex Jizz birth. J'iz birth. No, no, like you're gonna be you're Blake: I'm like I I'm like were you talking about a f a free birth? Casey: gonna be gagged. You're gonna be gagged. here we go. The Blake: god. Casey: The incident, this this TV article says. During the drug free delivery in a birthing center. Alex's husband, Simon van Kempen, experienced an extreme rush of emotion and endorphins that caused him to ad accidentally ejaculate on her. Blake: And they said this on the show? Casey: Yeah, yeah. Or in the press. it's it's public. they like and Alex was like, Blake: we Casey: No, like it's fine. Blake: We can only hope to find someone who will get so excited at us giving birth that they just have to come. Casey: I'm sorry. These headlines are so fucking crazy. Real Housewife Simon Van Camp Campbell ejaculated on his wife while she gave birth to son. my god. my god, it's like a picture of them smiling. We love them, but yeah, this was the one that I was like, okay, like I'm a little bit my god, this quote. I I don't Blake: I Casey: even know if Once he was finally Blake: You have Casey: out of my body, I experienced a tsunami of endorphins and I completely understand, blah blah blah. Simon was sitting behind me and later when we untangled ourselves, he discovered he'd actually ejaculated, though hadn't felt any of the normal lead up to that. It may seem distasteful to some, and though neither of us were thinking of sex at the time, but with the rush of emotion and my lower nerve endings going crazy, it's not too far a stretch to say it's a profound experience. Blake: Like I said, they match each other's freak. Yeah, I think I think that that's Casey: I know, and that's why I wanted to to say that. And not on topic, but I think that someone will be hearing that for the first time. So there you go. Blake: I think I heard that for the first time. So I we're keeping that in. Like that's staying in the episode. Casey: it's it's like not a very known thing. I remember where the first time I found it out, I was like, my fucking god, why did they ever they should have taken that to their grave. Maybe it was in her weird book. Maybe it was that's what it was. Maybe it was in her parenting book. You remember when the she wrote that flop? Rowin My Blake: Yeah. Casey: Kids in the in the concrete jungle or w or whatever it's called? but yeah, let's move along to the party. Blake: So in this episode In this episode, there are actually two Halloween costumes. The first one is a charity event for dogs. So everyone is like dressing their dog up and bringing their dog. Jill is dressed as Elle Woods, and her dog Ginger is dressed as Bruiser. Ramona is dressed as Robin Hood and Coco, her dog, is just her mini me, so also Robin Hood. Bethany was dressed as Roller Girl, and her dog Cookie is her quote-unquote little bitch. and this party looks terrible. It's like a giant Casey: Terrible. Blake: kind of gala vibe. and like there's this whole kind of bit where like the food looks terrible and then people are tasting it and they're confused if it's supposed to be like dog treats or not. And then people are like, it actually tastes fine. Other are no my no, that's actually like a dog treat. And then everyone's like, no, we're kidding. It's like actually for the humans, but like it's also not good food. It like sucks. And the backdrop is also everyone is like no one can socialize and have a good time because everyone is just wrangling their like stressed out chihuahuas. So it's like I Don't know I would have probably just sent a check in the mail and been like, I have other plans, but like I love dogs and animals, like here's your money. But it just my god, like this is my nightmare. Like dealing with Casey: No. Blake: dog people and stressed out, anxious dogs in costumes. I'm actually good. Casey: I would agree. And their party at the night time, or maybe it's two days, their next party is not much better even without the dogs in attendance. And it's a party hosted by Kelly after Kelly in this same season made a fuss about like that she doesn't like to like attach her name to things 'cause like she doesn't want it to like affect her image. And then she attaches her name to this party that's like bonk as hell. Number one, we've already talked about our opinions on this, that I feel like is the is the popular opinion. It's a cash bar. Soundboard. No. We hate that. And Blake: If I am going to a party that a quote unquote socialite is throwing in New York and you tell me I have to pay for my own drinks, like girl, I'm going to every page six, I'm going to TMZ, the New York Post, and I'm like, hey, this bitch is broke 'cause I had to pay for my drinks last night. I have your papers for fraud, bitch. Like Casey: Bankrupt. Yeah. No, like Kelly Bensimon has filed for bankruptcy and I have the evidence and it's the cash bar at this party. And like not only is it a cash bar, like that's obvious that's enough, like, for it to be considered a bad party. Like, Blake: Yeah, I would leave. Casey: yeah, like we're we already have condemned this party to hell be because of that, but It's like filled with just a bunch of plebes. Bethany gets there first and none of the other women are there. And she's like, it looks like Kelly went out into Times Square and handed out flyers and said, come Blake: Ha ha ha ha. Casey: come on in. And it like that they do just kind of look like random people, like in like kind of like mid costumes. Right. Blake: Bethany's like I don't Bethany's like I don't know anybody. it's like do you would assume that if a friend of yours is throwing a party there'd be mutual friends there or somebody you ran into once or something? Casey: somebody that looks rich and like of your caliber, like you know, and Blake: Right. she's just she's just like, I I'm here early, no one's here, I'm paying for my beverages. And Bethany at this moment it does not have a lot of, you know, cha ching cha ching in her wallet. Casey: Well, and she's on skates, so she's gotta be careful with where she goes around the the venue. Blake: Yeah, she's roller girl again. It's funny she says like she's like Yeah, I I dressed up as roller girl again, I got a shit ton of c of parties to go to and it's a fucking recession. I don't I'm not like Jill, I gotta I can't just be spending money so I'm roller girl again. And to her credit, she looks amazing. So it's like why not fucking Casey: Yeah, it it's cute. and it's not see the thing about Halloween costumes is that you can really balance out certain qualities to make of what would be a lackluster costume a good costume. That's why I get pissed off about lack of effort, because Bethany's costume isn't a good costume. It doesn't reference anything. It's basically just her in a wig on skates. Roller Blake: Yeah. Casey: girl, like what is that? But the fact that she is really on skates makes it a good costume. it doesn't even matter. It's just Blake: Right, 'cause when when do you get the excuse to show up to a a pub public event wearing rollerblades and it's like accepted? Casey: w the wig paired with the real skates makes it an acceptable costume despite the inspo lacking. that's what I mean. You c you can balance your shit out. Blake: Right. But honestly, in Spo, i that's relative 'cause I'm also like you, you had to think about this. even though it's not like a crazy concept, it's like she like was like, What am I gonna do? I can roller skate, I'll just be like a sexy Casey: Right. Blake: roller skater. to me at least that's better than Erica being like, Let me have Casey: Right. Blake: my glam squad come, I'll just look hot and then I'll throw on this tight cheetah print dress and be a cat. Casey: I agree. When I get annoyed by the concept is more when it's like just they tailored around whatever they had that they feel sexy in and it's like I'm this and it's like that's not a thing. you just had a cute outfit and you were like, Yes, like but she's not doing that, so it doesn't apply here. But that does piss Blake: And Casey: me off with like the like I'm a this thing that's never been a costume ever before and like is barely a thing in the real world. Like what are we talking about? Like you can't it's like on drag race when they do the snatch game and they make up some random mass bullshit like baby cupid Blake: my god. Casey: no no Blake: Yeah, it's like it's like actually the bar is much higher now because you're not a thing. So now like you have Casey: Yeah. Blake: to also create the character for us. And like that Casey: Right. Blake: wasn't even part of the assignment, but like since you made it the assignment, now you have a huge load to carry. And it's like you can't. Like you're actually because you didn't think of the character or like didn't find a reference, we know you're not creative. But then you've given yourself a much larger creative project. Wow. That just like we really just Casey: Wow, I couldn't have s I couldn't have said it better myself. that was really, really well said. Blake: Speaking of speaking of a a creative project and speaking of someone who already had this in her closet, Luann comes dressed Casey: Mm-hmm. Blake: as a Native American. because, you know, I guess like her her her whole her whole thing for Casey: Right, she's one sixteenth Cherokee or something. Blake: like the first like five seasons, and she consistently brings it up is that she's like adamantly a Native American, but she only brings it up in contexts where she can sort of like Poke fun at it and I'm like I'm like Casey: She's like very Jenna Moroni 30 Rock. I think that's a 30 rock storyline where Jenna Moroni is like finds out she's 118 indigenous and her parents are like Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: on like a reservation. Like anyways. that crazy costume for Laurent, but not her craziest. Blake: Jill shows up Yeah. Not her crazi lest we speak too soon, not Casey: Yeah. Blake: her craziest. Jill shows up as like actually like a pretty slutty Marie Antoinette with this like purple kind Casey: It's cute. Blake: of like Victorian wig, which yeah, I think for for Jill Zaren I would not like that's actually like she looks cute. She looks good. Casey: Yeah. Blake: Alex and Simon My Fucking King and Queen, let's play the clip. Sarah Paulson dragging a moose behind her. Casey: Pay Lynn Blake: Okay. A couple Casey: Screaming over the video. Sarah Paulson moves. Blake: A couple a couple things. So I'm yes, I so I did say Sarah Pulson. Whatever. Last week I also had a gaff. Whatever. When you're talking this much, sometimes the words get confused. But they are Sarah Palin and a moose, and Casey: Yeah. Blake: they're like kind of exchanging gunfire with each other, which is like funny. But Yeah Casey: And choking each other out, she steps on him, there's a gun, a fake gun prop. Blake: What a like time capsule where she's like, We weren't even the only Sarah Palin and Moose. I'm like like nobody would do that. Like nobody would have done that like ten years ago, let alone like Casey: I do love that. I like to pick a costume that that's like something that's been trending in the year because it's fun when Blake: Yeah. Casey: you look back on it, you're like, right. that was what was going on. I was Elphava during the Wicked era and I'll always remember that now. I'm like, right. That was like when it was going crazy. But you know, they slayed it. And this is kind of the the gang at the party because Kelly doesn't arrive until much, much later. She's not there. And Alex when her and Simon Blake: She told Casey: are Blake: she told everyone to arrive at Casey: When her and Simon are entered. Just shoot me and stab me and beat me and kill me. Blake: She told she told everyone to come at nine explicitly and it's like ten o'clock at this point and she's still not there. Just for context. Casey: Alex is entering. And you know, it's like a voiceover like of her like and her moose like entering through this like cramped, dimly lit. It looks humid. Like you can feel that it's humid through the screen. And Alex goes, it's dark. And frat party esque and Kelly isn't even here. it just like Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: it's just not a vibe. Everyone's getting mad because it the vibe is terrible and Kelly's not there. The only reason they're there is for Kelly. So everybody starts leaving, like, before Kelly even gets there because it takes so long. And we have an iconic Bethany moment. Blake: See, if she didn't choose to come as the ambiguous concept of Roller Girl, we would never have gotten her reading Kelly Bensimon Casey: It's true. Blake: for filth and then immediately turning around and rollerblading into the busy Manhattan street. Casey: She's the queen of fabulous she thinks she's the queen of fabulousity and like that wing does look fierce on her. It's like it's it's fierce. Blake: She looks so good. Casey: I don't know what it is about it, but her Halloween is usually a sleigh, Bethany. Sometimes the costume, like in terms of like if we rank costume, costuming in terms of like originality, sexiness, concept. Bethany is always sexy. Concept is a little loose. Blake: Flat, yeah. Casey: that's not really her strongest suit, but Blake: But execution is always amazing. Casey: it yeah, she looks good. I'm not it's not she's not my biggest offender in the housewives Halloween costumes by a mile. So we'll let her slide. Blake: Yeah. Casey: that's kind of like the whole iconic thing. Kelly shows up super late as a Playboy fucking bunny. Like we already said our Blake: Right. Casey: stance on that costume with a bunch of shirtless guys. Well, I think they're like Tarzan Tarzan costumed. and she like Blake: And she's literally just confused that everyone left and she's like she's like, Well, you know, I had to like, you know, do Halloween with my kids first and I'm like, then tell everyone that. Like, I don't th there's like a consistent theme with Rony Halloween where like someone is just extremely late and I'm like, Do you all have like you have phones, right? Like we're not living in this isn't like real housewives of the nineteen seventies. Like, why don't you just text like and also Why are you telling people to get there at nine if you have to do Halloween with your c whatever, Kelly Ben Simone? So she's like upset no one's there, and it's like I would have fucking left too. I don't know anyone else here. These are Times Square patrons. goodbye. anyway, moving on to the second Halloween episode. season ten, episode one. We have recap season ten, but I know Casey: I know, how weird. So many of these fall into what we've already picked. You could say we have our finger on the pulse of episodes. Blake: But this is we'd have to o we'd be remiss if we didn't still talk about it. So Dorinda is hosting a Halloween party with the theme Famous People Who Are Alive. So the costumes are Tinsley is Madonna. Carol is Amelia Earhart, who is famously known as being dead and not alive. So it's like did she Casey: Barely alive. Like she was like not even really here. Blake: Right, we only know her 'cause she died. So it's like, Casey: Yeah. Blake: did you read the invitation? Did you get the invitation? I don't know what went wrong there. Dorinda Is the Andy Sandberg SNL Lady Gaga and John the Musinex Man is her a SWAT team, like whatever the fuck. Casey: It's giving Terry security guard. they're it this is the same. what are we what do you mean? why why does she need Blake: Right, it's like Casey: a she doesn't need a guard. Lydia Gaga Andy Sandberg doesn't have a SWAT guard. I don't like that. what's going on? Or a bodyguard? why a SWAT? SWAT? Blake: Yeah, do a couple's costume or just tell John not to come. Right. Casey: okay. Blake: Sonia arrives as the Lucy from I Love Lucy with an ol her like a guy she's dating, Rocco, and by the way, at the time of filming, Lucy from I Love Lucy was also not alive, so maybe like Carol and Casey: Wait, so still. Blake: is Carol and and Sonya must have gotten the invitation from the same text thread where they they were being punked or they got the first draft, but that not paying attention. Ramona duh is Brittany fucking Spears and she looks cunt as fuck. Casey: And you did that c costume per my suggestion for your B day this year. You should if you feel Blake: Yeah. Casey: comfortable you should put the pickup. If you don't, gay gatekeep it. Blake: I honestly I I I honestly well let me let me I'll make a note of that. Casey: Yeah, put it put it in the post production. You should put the pickup 'cause it was fierce and it was a it was a collaborative podcast effort. Blake: The wig, I have to say I got it from Amazon and it was like the best wig I've ever worn. it looked so legit. I'll put a fucking pickup for y'all. and that was for my Casey: Yeah, you should. Blake: birthday too. That wasn't even for Halloween, that's just how I fucking play. I play crazy. Casey: Yeah. Blake had a housewives table read, and had his friends come as housewives and we were trying to think of a a beautiful costume for him as the B Day boy, and we settled on Ramona as Britney, which is very Dorinda as Andy Sandberg as Lady Gaga. You're Blake: Yeah. Casey: Ramona as Britney Spears. So someone just has to be now you as Ramona as Britney. Blake: And when this podcast gets huge, trust and believe, trust it Casey: Trust. Blake: that it will fucking happen. and we clipped this because of fucking course Luann, like we said, Native American, not the craziest costume she's come as because And Carol goes. I think I think that Luann is tone-deaf when it comes to cultural stereotypes. Well, you know, she's generally tone-deaf anyway. And Ramona in the background, you can hear her. Like when Luann enters, she goes, and you even have the dark skin going. As if like that's like the magic touch on top, and not the reason that this costume is like absolutely insane. Casey: Right. And this is an offensive costume. It's not as offensive as it could possibly be. She's not like in blackface. She like overly tanned herself, which is definitely still offensive and still a big no no. But I think that she survived this because it wasn't like like yeah, obviously that would be different. I don't know. Blake: Straight up. Yeah. Luanna is like Luann is like the patron saint of near misses. Like she's always offensive up to like the point where it's like a little bit slightly debatable enough where like it's not an immediate cancellation, but it's so like whoa there Casey: Right. And these days people are so manipulative with their evilness. they show what they think will be accepted. But I don't think that this was the case at this point in time. So I do feel like there's this sense that you that Luann is just generally delusional and like a little bit like unaware of how her actions relay to others. So it doesn't give that she's trying to reveal some secret evil instinct in her. It's just that she literally just is like Diana Ross, I have to look like her. I love her. yay. Blake: Yeah, it's it's well intentioned, even though it is still something that she shouldn't have done. Casey: For sure. Blake: and Bethany shows up as you know, to your earlier point, just she's trying to just be Barbie, which is like whatever, that's not inspired. But she ends up saying that like these drag queens did her makeup and hair, so she ends up looking like a Texas like prostitute. And I actually think she looks fierce as fuck. I wouldn't have guessed Barbie. Casey: She does. And these drag queens, name who? Credit them. Blake: Yeah, which which ones are you talking about? And also, by the way, again again, to the theme. Barbie is a toy that is not alive, never has been, never will be, because it's not a real person and it's a toy made of plastic. So just again, like, you know, I don't really underst like maybe Dorina just forgot to tell people what the theme was and like I don't know. Maybe she just said be cunt. Casey: Well, you brought this up for us to talk about. you were the one that like Noted this theme upon our rewatch, because at times, as you've heard, Blake and I pick up on on different things during our times in front of the telly. But I didn't even hear that. And this was my first time ever noticing that. I never in all the times I've watched this episode, which I feel like this one I specifically have watched a lot of times, never once have I known that that was a theme. Like reading it Blake: Well that's Casey: from your like show notes, BTS, I was like, Okay, there was a theme. it's a costume theme. Blake: That's why this episode is like different because we're not focusing on what they're saying, we're just literally focusing on the the party that they're throwing. And so I was like I Casey: I literally never knew that. Blake: was like, Why are they dressing up this way? She's like, it's famous people who are still alive Like she emphasized still alive and then you have like half the cast who's like, I'm gonna be someone who died it three hundred years ago like, okay. Casey: Yeah, Amelia has to be the worst because l as you said, we know her. Because of her death, literally famous Blake: Right. Casey: for dying. And Carol, like, also creates this persona for Amelia, who again we know n pretty much nothing about. And she's smoking a cigarette. And Bethany, you know, because again, go back and listen to our season 10 recap. Bethany and Carol are like falling apart this season. Like their friendship is rocky. So Bethany's kind of being shady and it's like, You're smoking? Like, aren't you running a marathon? Like, why are you smoking a cigarette? Like, also, not your business. And Carol's like, no, I don't smoke Amelia smokes. I'm in character. Amelia loves a sing. is that true? Blake: She chain smoked, like Which I'm like Like I you know, if I think of Amelia Earhart, I think of like she flew planes, she crashed on an island, probably got eaten by crabs, like I don't think that like yeah she loved a cigarette in her day, like Casey: I don't think that that was in the canon. I don't. It could be. Maybe I'm remiss. Maybe I'm not up to date. Blake: And it's also like a a fair point to bring up the fact that you're running a marathon and you're choosing to have a night of just chih Casey: Right. It's a little invasive, but it is a fair point. When I was younger when I was younger my mom's new boyfriend saw me vaping and was like I played lacrosse at the time and he was like, does your coach allow that? It's a similar vibe. And I I thought it was invasive. I didn't like it. I should have said Amelia. Amelia vapes, but Carol's like Blake: Amelia Vabes. Casey: I always smoke when I'm in costume and I'm like, wait, love that rule. Like maybe I should adopt that rule. Like that's gorgeous. Boom. Blake: I always drink on this podcast, so look, we're one. We're one, Carol. Dorinda is she arrived at her party blackout. She arrived first. So at this point she's already gone, and we have this amazing clip of her just just you know, the clip. Casey: Sounds like a perfect night. We'll have a roast chicken. We'll have four two Blake: I I was just gonna say that. Casey: to four bottles of wine, watch ghost hunters, and then we'll sleep in Durinda's bed. Blake: I love how she corrected herself. She's like, We'll get two s no, four bottles of wine and then she was Casey: Two to four. Two to four. Blake: like, Watch ghost hunt like honestly, I would be that's like my perfect friend. Like that's what I wanna do. Casey: That would fix me. that would actually fix me if Dorinda took me in for that. a if she did a sweepstakes, if she did a raffle, Blake: Deepest, darkest secrets. Casey: I that would really fix me. what's the what's the tweet? You Blake: I love how she's like, Well Casey: know the one, the please, please have a sleepover and we can talk about mental health and Blake: They can invite us our Anagrande can invite us to her house and we can tell our mental health secrets and like cry together or something. But like Casey: Me, but we can have a roast chicken and watch ghost hunters and Blake: I love how she said we can close the door. she was like, Don't worry, the door won't know. We'll see us doing the roast chicken. and then obviously, I think we played this clip in the last episode. I mean, this is like the Casey: Yeah, we did. Blake: most famous clip, but it's like, you know, people are like, Dorinda, like, what are you? And she's like, Well, you know, I'm I'm Adam Adam Sandler, Adam Adam Sandler, the guy who did his dress on S on NSL, he did did my dress. And everyone's just like Okay, you're changing the pronunciation of all these words every single time you're retelling it, and then Bethany's like, We lost a couple of bubbles, and then her wig randomly is just gone, and she like looks at John and she's Let's go. And then like John like escorts her out. and that's like before the main drama even happens. Yeah. Like she's done. She got excited. Casey: I think early, yeah. I think this is pretty early into the party. The 'cause they go on with the episode and she's just not there for like plenty of content. So they definitely weren't like rushing out the door post to Rinda leaving, which I love as a concept of like What happens at a party when the host is gone 30 minutes in? is the bill settled? does anyone shut this shit down? what what what the hell? Like, is that literally even allowed? Which I usually say in a in a more PC context, but is that allowed? We don't know. We can't be sure. Iconic though. Blake: So, yeah, that's like the most iconic. That's the one that everyone like knows of when they think of Rony Halloween. so our third Roany Halloween episode, season eleven, episode ten. Luann is performing at a Halloween party, and the theme is like a mental patient hospital situation. It's decorated to look like an is an insane excuse me, an insane asylum. Just had a little burp there. Sorry everyone. Casey: Yeah. Blake: and Luann is performing. and she's taking forever to get ready. So everyone's like arriving in preparation to hear her in anticipation of when's Lewand gonna come down? When's she gonna go on stage? And she's like getting her glam done. Casey: Right. She said eleven. Blake: Yeah, she said she's gonna be on at eleven. and she specifically told Bethany, like, I'm going on at eleven. So just like you can get there close to eleven, you can watch the show, you can leave early so that you can like go relieve your babysitter. Ramona doesn't show up because she's She has a better party to go to and she's social climbing, so she just chooses not to go. and there's this one really funny like Dorinda at one point in her confessional is like and she's being completely serious and like earnest. She's like, the energy changes when Luann comes out to perform her two songs. But it's like not shady. Casey: Wait, but it's true though, because it's true. it's as someone who's been there and it's true now Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: she has way more than two songs, but as Blake and I can attest as attendees of the Countess Luann experience, it Blake: Several. Casey: really does. it really the energy really does shift. it's like Wow, she's so everything. Like, she's so everything to me. I like lost my voice the night that we saw her last because like that's my mama. Like I I don't I do not play of me screeching. Blake: Girl, girl, the videos the videos of you absolutely losing it. I mean maybe one day we'll re we'll do like a little like a little lore drop. Casey: They're like not well. Like you might like start to be like, my god, like she's like not like mentally Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: right in the head. who was it, Karen talking about Monique when she was like, I have to stand by her cause she's mentally ill. Blake: So sh but she's she has a medical issue and I need to see the medical papers. Casey: Blake talking about me when we leaked the videos of me at the Countess Leanne show that we were at. but like that's kind of like the the j what's the word? The j Blake: The gist. Casey: Yes. I was gonna say the just, but I meant Crux, I think. that's Blake: That's the just Casey: kind of the gist of this party is that like Luann is super late, like everyone's kind of annoyed. It's kind of like almost a repeat of the Kelly party in season two. Like, but now Luann is the late offender and everyone's a little bit like we don't really wanna be here if Luann isn't gonna like show up on time and she performs at eleven thirty-nine. So she's forty minutes Blake: She's Casey: after the advertised time. And Bethany's already gone by then because she's like, I gotta go. I was Told she was gonna be singing at eleven, two songs basically, and I could be gone by eleven thirty, and she's not here. So Blake: Right, and she of course Luann gets upset at the concept of Bethany leaving 'cause she's like like is Brain wa Brain waiting up at eleven PM? is she gonna go home and watch her child sleep and doesn't understand the concept of having to tell the babysitter like you don't have to stay Casey: I know. I low-key didn't think about the babysitter either. I was like when Luann said that, I was like, yeah, no, agreed. And then I was like, right, the babysitter. No, that's fair. Blake: so the the fourth slash fifth episodes, I guess Casey: Four and a half fifth. Blake: it's it's it's basically like one episode is the Halloween party, but like the episode before they have like a moment of Halloween. So it's season twelve, which is the season that like this show kind of starts to go off the rails, but it's fine. Season twelve, episode eleven and twelve. the women in episode eleven, they go to Blood Manor, which is like a famous holl haunted house in New York, which I've been Casey: Have you been? Blake: to. Yes, it is very fun, very scary. I will say, the entire time I was like screaming nasty comments at all of the actors because I was like, I feel like if I get ahead of this, it'll be less scary. So instead of letting them instead of letting them get to Casey: You're so hateful. Blake: me, I was like, I'm gonna like start screaming at them first. So I was like, Don't you dare! Casey: Kelly died when she arrived on the cast of Orange County. Like Blake: so there's this really funny moment of the women arriving At Blood Manor. The way they double tap Sonya, there's one guy and then she s runs in the opposite direction that Casey: I should have worn a diaper. It's so funny. Blake: there's a guy from that direction. it's so good. so Casey: And this is like the pregame to the Halloween party in the next episode, which is season 12, episode 12, which is another event hosted by Luann. And at this point, we're like sort of into COVID times. So they're having a Halloween dinner party instead of like a huge function. But Luann, so kind, the kindest woman, as I who would never glaze a housewife. She's just that kind. She says, This year I won't perform. So that way I can actually spend some time with the Yeah. Blake: I 'cause it's funny, the same guy who threw or helped her plan the last one where she was performing and she was late, she was like, I decided this year it'd be better for me to just not perform so I could actually talk to my girlfriend, so I'm having him throw me a different kind of party and she's like saying it like she's Mother Teresa. Like she's like Casey: And not like it's COVID and they have to have a certain amount of numbered people sitting at a table. This is like a little bit pre, the dinner is pre. they weren't fully in regulations, but their confessionals during this dinner are fully COVID. they're like in their houses. I was gonna say homes. Blake: Yeah. Casey: That's why that just came out weird. Sorry. but the dinner party theme, she says, is quote unquote unquote voodoo kind of priestess. Seems like a loose a loose theme, but and Ramona is concerned about the theme as well. And when she arrives about an hour and a half early because she like misread the text or something, Blake: No, it's because no, it's actually better. It's because she wanted the party to be earlier so she could go to another better party afterward. So she texted everyone, by the way, not the hostess, texted everyone, can we do seven thirty instead of eight thirty? And nobody obviously responded slash changed the reservation, but she just assumed that it was changed because she wanted it. So then she calls Casey: hello. Blake: Luann and Louen's like, No, it's eight thirty and she's like, fuck, I guess I gotta be here for like an hour. yeah, because you Casey: And Blake: chose to arrive at a time that was not scheduled. she's crazy. Casey: Like what? And not only does she do that, she arrives with Missy, who is Tom Luann's ex is. Blake: Luann's ex yeah, Luen's ex who we we've seen in several episodes before, especially right. Casey: And Luann's already been upset by like Ramona's brought her around before and it's been an issue before. So it's like, okay, like, fantastic. And you know Ramona's gonna be like, well, you're you and Tom are over, so it's fine. But you know, her and Missy and some other guys she brings with her, they're like walking through the party because no one's there yet. So they're getting the full tour of the decor, like set up before anyone arrives. And Ramona is like, it's very similar to Vicky. Is this biblical? She goes, Is this sacrilegious? Because I'm religious when she walks by, like, it's just Jesus. it's a Jesus statue that they zoom in on and it's like, is this sacrilegious? I think all of Halloween is technically sacrilegious. Like I don't Yeah, I don't like think anything Blake: There's there's Yeah, it's like a pagan religion. if you Casey: like in this realm is is all set for you. Blake: If you talk to anyone who's super religious, they'll be like, My parents didn't let me celebrate Halloween. Like and Casey: Right. Right. Blake: I do have to hand it to Lan. The decor at this party is incredible. They have this like glass crucifix filled with skulls. They have a bunch of like coffins laid out in a row. And the table where the food is going to be served, like has a goat's head on it. The food is also made to look super creepy and spooky, they have a seafood tower with a octopus and like all the like seafoods made to look like fingers and stuff. Casey: Yeah. It looks like one of those early two thousands reality T V shows, the foods they make the contestants eat on the challenge where they make them eat the gross foods. it's like goats Blake: Yes. a fear factor. Casey: balls. Like, okay. Like yeah. Blake: Yes, yes, yes. Casey: Like that's literally what like the the selection at least what's on the table an hour and a half before the party starts. That's what's out there. Blake: Right. Right. Casey: and it's funny, like, you know, Ramona's already on one. She arrives early, which Dorinda then later on says means she's drinking early, which is a thought. But everyone's Blake: Fair. Casey: costume for this event is like how I would describe it as like they just kind of went with like general spooky like vibe to again something they found like in their closet or like bought at like a a like a Halloween store. Like R Ramona is like she looks kind of like Maleficent esque like Blake: Ramona is it's like a she's a voodoo priestess, but it's basically like it kind of looks yeah, maleficent mixed with like like magical video game character and she b she says yeah, Zelda Casey: Yeah, sorceress, yeah, Zelda ish. Blake: ish, and she says in her confessional that she had to Google voodoo to like know what it was and she found a reference picture and then she was like I ordered a costume that looked like that for me and for Sonya. And then Dorinda is just kind of like she looks almost like Day of the Dead, almost like Hispanic vibes. Like it's like she has Casey: I was like, is she supposed to be herself but dead? she literally just kinda looks like a little Blake: It's also giving that Casey: bit of an elevated Dorinda but dead. the makeup is giving Babaduke. she like she has like b Blake: Yes, Casey: black makeup around her eyes and then white. Like what Kelly says about Alex at Scary Island. Kabuki, kabuki makeup. Blake: Yes, yes, yes. so yeah, it's Casey: Wow, my connection building. So no one's costume here is like super stellar. It's all just kind of like giving like adult like I had to throw something together. It's not bad, but it's not like Yes. Blake: It's it's it's obviously Halloween, but it's not like it's kinda just that's something spooky of some site some type. Casey: It's like the cousin of Tamra's Halloween party, where it's like it's like not super costume-y, but it's spooky. Blake: Yeah. Casey: there was some effort given, but not in like a full-fledged conceptual way. but Ramona's there earlier, so she unfortunately is like greeting all of these guests. And like some guy comes in in like a little like colonial man costume, and Ramona literally pats his stomach and goes, like it's amazing how you got this punch here. And they're like, Punch? Like what's like does anyone even use that word and then he's like kinda like no that's real that's my stomach she was implying that he had a fat suit on or a little fake belly and it was really just his tummy that she just patted Blake: That is so insane to say. that's so insane to say. Casey: what are we talk like why did you pat him? Don't pat him and d I'm so uncomfortable. Blake: Ha ha ha. Casey: what are you doing? that's his real stomach. So she is Blake: And Casey: already off to the races, 'cause she's been there forever. Blake: Yeah, and we've for some reason have Jill Zare in there, which is whatever. Sonia shows up blitzed. I remember she gets in the car. She's riding over with Elise Swain, the Slain. Elise Slayne, the friend of Casey: Yeah. Blake: for the season, and Dorinda, and in the car they get in and she immediately is just like Dunda, you look so good, Dunda. And then she's like, I'm mad at Ramona and she like grabs like a voodoo doll and she's like In your ear and in your rear, Ramona. she's like on like it's clear that she had seven drinks before she arrived. So Sonya's gone. And she randomly starts arguing with Leah at the table. Ramona and Dorinda are arguing. Lou and Ramona arguing because like Rem Ramona brought Missy, the ex, and Dorinda in her costume gives this like unprompted I guess you could call it a toast? That's not that's the wrong one. I'll have to mark that That was an impromptu something. Here it is. Casey: That was an unprompted toast, but Blake: Can I just I'm underrated moment Casey: Wow, underrated moment. This is a really good clip. Blake: I'm gonna start every sentence forever with as a woman in power Casey: As a woman in power. Wow. chills. literally immediately chills. wow. Can I just have everyone's attention as a woman in power? do you fucking mind for a second as a woman in fucking power if I take the reins? Blake: And as Sonia is like drunkenly chowing down on her fucking food Casey: Chowing down but making sure to every time Dorinda says something, yeah, that was mean Blake: Ha ha Casey: and whatever Dorinda said, she's like eating like a chicken wing and Ramona's Blake: We've Casey: mute. holy fuck. Blake: We've all been there where like you're so drunk that like when you're eating food it's like the way I eat this does not matter at all. Like I'm gonna eat this the the most fucking disgusting way 'cause that's the best way to eat this. And it's like she's doing that while everyone's in this broad daylight table ish and Dorinda's like giving a fucking speech about Ramona who won't acknowledge her and then Ramona gets up and she's like someone put a voodoo on this party. And she just leaves to go to her social climbing party. Like I'm like I'm like Casey: Yeah, Ramona tries to gray rock her by not engaging. she once she starts that speech goes mute and then just fucking leaves. 'Cause Blake: And it's funny because you can tell that Ramona at no point at during this entire pl planning of the party, during the party, after the party, she does not know what voodoo is. She does not know what it is, she does not know how you like what it looks like, what it sounds like. She's like, Someone put a voodoo on this party, I'm leaving. Casey: Ramona's like cultural lexicon is so low. remember what I feel like this is showing like my crazy. I feel like it's like season five or six at a random restaurant scene. You know when Ramona does the a reggae band? Like there was a like it's kind of Blake: Yes, reggae. Casey: like like she doesn't she's so American eyes and so self-centered. Like that's her that's how she is as a person. Like she only cares about what she is and what affects her. So anything like voodoo, reggae, like those words do not exist in Ramona Singer's brain. do I know the full extent of voodoo? no. But I at least have at least some idea. I think that's a misguided thing to name your party. I don't think Luann should have done that. But do I know roughly what it is? Yes. But come on. Blake: Yeah. Right. Ramona is just gonna be insensitive to anything that's not her. Casey: Yeah. Blake: so that is that's basically Casey: That's Blake: the sum total of our Housewives Halloween episodes, our real ghoul wives of Halloween Town. if you guys liked this episode, please like, subscribe, share it with a friend. follow our socials, mention it all again podcast, slash mention it all again pod, slash I A pod on TikTok specifically. next week Casey's flying solo because I will not be available to Casey: I know. Unless somehow I find a magnificent immaculate guest, which you'll just have to see if that's something that I can dig out of my purse within the next Week and a half basically, but l honestly probably not. got I love to one on one with you guys. So it might just be your girl for a return to Beverly Hills season four part two. And maybe I'll even tease why there's been such a delay in a koy a koy way. Blake: We'll see what the witch chooses to do with her hat and her Casey: Ha. Blake: magic. So thank you guys for tuning in. We love you. And we'll see you next fucking week, bitches.
