  Dave Hamilton: the shows that attracted both like Gen Xers and people under 45,

  Dave Hamilton: like, you know, the other generations that the Gen Xers were the ones at the bar,

  Dave Hamilton: the, you know, the millennials and, and people younger than that.

  Dave Hamilton: Gen Z, we're not drinking as much.

  Dave Hamilton: The alcohol consumption is way down, especially in that generation.

  Dave Hamilton: I mean, I know it's down across the board, but that generation especially.

  Dave Hamilton: And what this guy was saying was he was like, so I've just started architecting

  Dave Hamilton: shows that will attract the Gen Xers.

  Dave Hamilton: I do like tribute nights for bands from the 80s.

  Shannon Jean: Because they need the bar, right? that's the moneymaker

  Dave Hamilton: That's where that's where they make their money yeah exactly yeah yeah and he's

  Dave Hamilton: they still like to drink alcohol like and they want to see these shows and so

  Dave Hamilton: it's like yeah it's a win-win-win-win-win across the board yep it's really interesting but,

  Dave Hamilton: it like the gen xers us will continue to get old and someday we won't go to

  Dave Hamilton: bars anymore that's true we won't go anywhere anymore right and so,

  Dave Hamilton: it it will change I mean, the market's already changed, but,

  Dave Hamilton: there's this one tweak that lets him hold on as things.

  Shannon Jean: on Sunday, and man, there's just acre after acre of vines being torn out.

  Shannon Jean: i think it is and i don't know that's i don't know what so stands for

  Shannon Jean: Yeah that's kind of weird but anyway i try the prompt and the first thing that

  Shannon Jean: comes up it's just a it kind of has the prompt window up in the somalia

  Dave Hamilton: It's a somalia .so, I mean, it doesn't mean the site is in Somalia. Yes, correct.

  Dave Hamilton: You can buy a .me domain. It doesn't mean that you live in Montenegro or whatever.

  Dave Hamilton: That's correct. Yeah, but SO is Somalia. That's what it stands for.

  Shannon Jean: Yeah, so I hit the, you know, there's just a menu or a window that says type

  Shannon Jean: So I hit that, and it chews on it for a minute. It comes back and says,

  Shannon Jean: you don't have enough tokens, right? Of course. I was like, well, I don't have any tokens.

  Shannon Jean: Yeah, that's it. That's what you're, yeah, we're looking, if you're watching

  Shannon Jean: this, you can see that's exactly where it is.

  Shannon Jean: So you get this, the next thing it says, create an account. Okay,

  Shannon Jean: great, I'll create an account.

  Shannon Jean: And then it comes up and says, well, you need to have some tokens.

  Shannon Jean: So I said, okay, I'll bite. I'll try this out.

  Shannon Jean: So I buy 200 tokens for five bucks to experiment with this.

  Shannon Jean: And it didn't really do a very good job of what I wanted to...

  Shannon Jean: It just didn't really perform very well. See, there you go. Yeah,

  Shannon Jean: exactly. It's too much. I don't like the thing. Yep. Friction.

  Dave Hamilton: Too much friction. Avoid friction.

  Shannon Jean: Yeah, and I get it. What they're trying to do costs money and all that stuff.

  Shannon Jean: Yeah. Just a little bit. So...

  Shannon Jean: I use it to try to create a couple of videos.

  Shannon Jean: It says it can just go find out everything about me and it would create a documentary

  Shannon Jean: style video and I say, great.

  Shannon Jean: And I didn't like the first one. I said, yeah, this is not very good.

  Shannon Jean: So I have it change it and I go to create another one and then it layers the

  Shannon Jean: soundtrack on top of the next one. So it's two people talking at the same time.

  Dave Hamilton: Oh, that's lovely.

  Shannon Jean: Wow, this is not great. Yeah. So it asks me for feedback. I said, okay.

  Shannon Jean: So I gave it the thumbs down And I explained, I said, you know,

  Shannon Jean: it's just kind of, I'm not really impressed and everything.

  Shannon Jean: So I was like, you know, I'm gonna talk about today, I'm gonna talk about kind of be wary of

  Shannon Jean: every tool. We talked about tools last week, why you don't need new ones,

  Shannon Jean: but about just lots of services that pop up like this. And I'm just kind of
• 6:39
  Shannon Jean: disappointed and I'll probably never go there again. However...

  Shannon Jean: I get, while we're on the show, I get an email.

  Dave Hamilton: Oh, full circle indeed.

  Shannon Jean: Yeah, I get an email from one of the founders. And it says, hey,

  Shannon Jean: Shannon, thanks for trying Motion. We saw your thumbs down feedback on your

  Shannon Jean: recent session. We'd really value hearing what missed the mark.

  Shannon Jean: We're talking directly with people who had a rough experience so we can understand

  Shannon Jean: And maybe walk me along and said, hey, this is because you only took literally 30 seconds to do this.

  Shannon Jean: But if you spend more time now massaging it, here's the next step.

  Shannon Jean: And kind of walk me through and onboarding it, that would change things,

  Shannon Jean: and I would do it. So that's kind of going to be my topic. But I also really

  Dave Hamilton: In fact, literally, this happened with the campaign for HIMSS,

  Dave Hamilton: right, that we're now actively running. So clearly, it made it across the finish line.

  Dave Hamilton: I don't want to have to do any of the grunt work anymore. so what i do,

  Dave Hamilton: is i take the email trail that i have with someone and i start a new co-work session,

  Dave Hamilton: i copy the entire email trail i paste it in it's messy it's not something that

  Dave Hamilton: a human would have an easy time parsing like who said what and when doesn't matter,

  Dave Hamilton: i paste it in with very little else and i just say look i need to get this person an answer today,

  Dave Hamilton: and it will come back and it usually asks me a question and of course like i

  Dave Hamilton: said i built an mcp connector i built i prompted claude code to build an mcp connector for you.

  Shannon Jean: Built it dude

  Dave Hamilton: Right i know but like i didn't write a line of code yeah right but i architected

  Dave Hamilton: it i conceived of it i right i knew we needed it,

  Dave Hamilton: back and forth i've iterated on it it's great and i point it at our

  Dave Hamilton: our management system that has all the data that it needs all the demographic

  Dave Hamilton: data for the shows the availabilities of the shows whether the shows have said

  Dave Hamilton: yes or no to a specific brand all of those things are in our system

  Dave Hamilton: so i just pointed at it and i pointed at a folder on my desktop which at the

  Dave Hamilton: you know at beginning is empty

  Dave Hamilton: for that client right like let's say it's a new client something like yeah yeah right,

  Dave Hamilton: and uh and i just say okay,

  Dave Hamilton: Like go fetch all the information from all the tools that we have available

  Dave Hamilton: to us and reply to this email.

  Dave Hamilton: And nine times out of 10, I'll say 10 times out of 10, but, you know,

  Dave Hamilton: probably safer to say nine.

  Dave Hamilton: It will come back and build me two things with three things.

  Dave Hamilton: A draft email for the person that points them to the two attachments I'm going
• 14:57
  Dave Hamilton: to send. And one is like a one-sheet PDF that's beautiful and spells out everything.

  Dave Hamilton: And the second is a spreadsheet, right, that like has the numbers and the proposal of the thing.

  Dave Hamilton: And I send it to him. So this happened yesterday. And we were.

  Dave Hamilton: I had a rehearsal at 4 p.m. yesterday.

  Dave Hamilton: And this thing came in. I was ready to send it at like 3.50.

  Dave Hamilton: So I put all the data into Claude, which really was just the email and pointing

  Dave Hamilton: it where it could get the rest of the data. And I said, go.

  Dave Hamilton: Now, it'll take it like 15 minutes to crunch through all this.

  Dave Hamilton: So people are arriving here for the rehearsal. And I'm like,

  Dave Hamilton: shoot, I really want to get this email out. And I'm like watching Claude and

  Dave Hamilton: it's still crunching and it's still crunching and it's still crunching, you know.

  Dave Hamilton: And I realized, wait a minute, our keyboard player was late at 4.15.

  Dave Hamilton: Like everybody's set up in the room.

  Dave Hamilton: Except we really can't start without him. We kind of could have, but we chose not to.

  Dave Hamilton: And so we're just like killing time. And I look and I see Claude's done.

  Dave Hamilton: I'm like, all right, great.

  Dave Hamilton: I like, Hey, I'm going to go downstairs to my office and just like, take a look at this.

  Dave Hamilton: And as I sit down at my desk, I see him pull in and I'm like, dang it.

  Dave Hamilton: Okay. You know what? Screw it. I gave it a quick, quick glance,
• 16:20
  Dave Hamilton: way less than I've ever given anything that I've sent out from the AI.

  Dave Hamilton: But I'm like, screw it. I just sent it.

  Dave Hamilton: And then went upstairs. We rehearsed. 30 minutes in, we take a break because

  Dave Hamilton: there's like a natural break in the process of things. And I look,

  Dave Hamilton: I already have an email back from the person saying, this is great. Can you get me A, B, and C?

  Dave Hamilton: Like, oh, amazing. So again, copy all on the, select all copy on the email trail,
• 16:50
  Dave Hamilton: paste it back into that session and go.

  Dave Hamilton: We're sitting here for like three minutes and I look and it finishes,
• 16:57
  Dave Hamilton: this completely revamped spreadsheet and like this huge pdf that like gives

  Dave Hamilton: them i love it one sheets of all the things and i'm sitting here thinking i
• 17:07
  Dave Hamilton: could send this to her right now but if i did like,
• 17:13
  Dave Hamilton: how would i explain,
• 17:16
  Dave Hamilton: that i created this in four minutes yeah,
• 17:21
  Dave Hamilton: there's no way And so, no, so go ahead. Yeah, I have things to say, but yeah, yeah. Yeah.

  Shannon Jean: And it doesn't make it any less valuable. It's just the way you just spent hours

  Shannon Jean: putting it all together.

  Shannon Jean: But your assistant is able to access the data.

  Shannon Jean: And at that particular or for that particular part of this task stage,

  Shannon Jean: yep, that stage, it's it's better at doing it way.

  Shannon Jean: You're better at managing the relationship and bringing in the and making sure

  Shannon Jean: you're adding value. So it's it's a division of duties. That's like we've needed this our entire life.

  Dave Hamilton: Right now. Yeah. Right now, dude. It's crazy. This is the time to take advantage.

  Dave Hamilton: So I waited until we had a break an hour and a half later. And that's when I

  Dave Hamilton: Yeah. I couldn't explain, but here's the thing. And this is my,

  Dave Hamilton: We're using this, right? I know that if I was on the other end of this exchange,
