- 0:17and deep dive episodes is geared to help you tackle the things that hold you
- 0:22back from having the most magnificent life you deserved. Sit back, relax,
- 0:28and prepare to be coached. Yes, you wake up, there's a negative
- 0:33event. All right, let's hit the dog pete on the carpet. Toxic
- 0:37pots positivity goes, Oh, that's okay, I'm gonna get a new carpet
- 0:41anyway. I'm not worried about it. I'm glad the dog pete on the
- 0:44carpet. Now I can get the new carpet. I've always wonted. So
- 0:50the next event happens it's negative, and you come up with another positive reason
- 0:54that happened. That's toxic positivity consistently. After a while, it's exhausting because
- 1:00you know in your head you're really upset the dog pede on the carpet.
- 1:03I want you to try something else. Acknowledge the dog pede on the carpet,
- 1:08acknowledge your feeling around it. I am pissed off. I am irritated,
- 1:12I am angry, I am frustrated. Whatever it is, be grateful
- 1:18it wasn't worse. I'm glad the dog pede and didn't poop on the carpet
- 1:21or chew it up. Okay, action step, I'm gonna get the carpet
- 1:25cleaned. The rest of my day will be great. That's how you combat
- 1:30toxic positivity and not getting into a negative, downward spiral, the spiral of
- 1:37death, as I call it. So in the culture that we live in,
- 1:42and it's not just in the United States, it's all over the world.
- 1:45You've got a bunch of people that are making waves on social media,
- 1:52getting attention, getting likes, getting followers, and they don't generally have the
- 1:56training of the education for the message they're putting out there. They've googled it,
- 2:00they've read a white paper whatever, and they're trying to promote something a
- 2:04certain way. That's why we're hearing so much pop psychology. You're hearing breadcrumbing
- 2:08and gaslighting, and you're hearing coupling, and you're hearing all these words that
- 2:13don't even exist in the therapy cycle of things being created by people on the
- 2:17internet with a name that they think they know about. That's why toxic positivity
- 2:24is becoming prevalent. It's the new pop culture pop word. So again,
- 2:30how do you combat fomo and toxic positivity? The first thing is trying not
- 2:38to go down the TikTok rabbit hole, the Instagram rabbit hole of reels and
- 2:42videos and YouTube, unless it's someone you trust and know that's been doing this
- 2:45type of work for some length of time that has some educational backing behind it.
- 2:53You see me, I did a reel on the narcissist thing. There's
- 2:58too many people calling each other narcissist. It doesn't even meet criteria. Just
- 3:00put it that way. It's a pop term. It garners likes and attention.
- 3:07Those people that need millions of likes and attention have fomo. They have
- 3:10fear of missing out, missing out on a like, missing out on a
- 3:14friend, missing out on a follow, missing out on the attention. All
- 3:16of those things are fomo. Toxic positivity is one way to combat fomo,
- 3:23but it actually creates pomo. So that's your lesson for today. Take it
- 3:28through out. It's worth definitely check out the secret triangle. It's one of
- 3:31the best ways to explain what I do and how to use law of attraction
- 3:37and how to use your brain to get what you want correctly. Have a
