- 0:00I'm sounding like Louise Hay as I echo this.
- 0:04So you're, you were obviously suffering from so much, Carrie,
- 0:11and yet how did your life change once you did heal yourself on
- 0:18that cellular level? What happened for you?
- 0:21What were you noticing? You know, like all of a sudden
- 0:25your normal becomes a new normal that probably would have felt
- 0:31like it was abnormal Once Upon a time.
- 0:33But it becomes your, you know, your next level.
- 0:36So can you talk us through that? Of course.
- 0:42So I had developed a lot of immune issues.
- 0:46I had developed chronic issues. I had developed, like you stated
- 0:50at the beginning, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, epilepsy.
- 0:55They couldn't ever find a reason why I started having seizures.
- 0:59I started having them at 20. No history of this, no family
- 1:02history, No, they did all the tests and couldn't find anything
- 1:06and it was just very, very strange.
- 1:09Then at 24, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and then it was 29,
- 1:15I believe I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue.
- 1:18And my life got to a point after so many years because I was
- 1:22still carrying all of this unknown trauma, a decade of
- 1:27trauma that I wasn't aware of, plus still going through some
- 1:31trauma at the same time that it wore my body down to the point
- 1:37where I could go from my office to my bed.
- 1:42And that was just about it every day.
- 1:44I actually had to give up my massage practice for about 6
- 1:47years because I physically couldn't function.
- 1:52And it just was this. And I was only in my early 30s
- 1:58and I was just like, I what, how am I going to live the rest of
- 2:02my life like this? And I was single because I had
- 2:05all these issues with creating relationships.
- 2:08And I'm like, this is just not any sort of life.
- 2:12And how long can I do this for? And there were all of these
- 2:16beliefs that then were created because of that.
- 2:20So I had these beliefs that didn't serve me, that were
- 2:23actually hurting me and creating walls, which caused me to take
- 2:27on new beliefs. And so it just kind of piled on
- 2:30itself and was very, very difficult.
- 2:34Accumulation. My name is Terry Messenger and I
- 2:38am hey, hey, hey, and welcome. Welcome to Terry Messenger's

- 4:24about to bring on a woman. Not only is she an authority
- 4:28because of the tremendous work that she has done through her
- 4:35hands, through her voice, and through her own experience, but
- 4:42this woman herself has healed herself of trauma.
- 4:47Trauma that can often lose faith in your relationships, in the
- 4:54way that you relate to people. She's going to really blow that
- 5:00open so that she can learn about it.
- 5:02She's also healed herself of fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue
- 5:07syndrome, epilepsy, just to name a few.
- 5:11And this is a woman who has lived through the miracle of
- 5:17rewiring the brain and being able to turn your fear into your
- 5:24incredible empowerment and your greatest life.
- 5:29So let's get ready to heal the root cause of what's going on in
- 5:34your life, in your relationships, in your health,
- 5:37in your freedom, and let's talk all powerful things that are
- 5:44going to be on a supernatural plane.
- 5:47And with no further ado, I give you the beautiful Carrie.
- 5:51And how are you, Carrie? And I'll just get you to state
- 5:55your name so it is said exactly how it's supposed to sound.
- 6:00Oh, thank you, Terry. So it's Kerry Ricobaugh and I am
- 6:03doing wonderful. I am so excited to be here and
- 6:07grateful to share the space with you.
- 6:11Well, you are not alone on that because so am I.
- 6:14Because you know, every time I experience a beautiful,
- 6:19authentic coach, healer, leader like yourself, not only do I get
- 6:25that little bit of healing for myself, but it is serving the
- 6:29mission to transform millions of people in the world.
- 6:32So thank you. So I understand you have a lot
- 6:36of gratitude for a coach who held you and was able to take
- 6:43you through some of the most traumatic things that you had
- 6:48experienced, even from as young as diapers.
- 6:52So perhaps you can begin by sharing some of your story.
- 6:59And we're just gonna let the viewers know that a lot of
- 7:04Carrie's experience there could be a trigger warning.
- 7:08There's also a very close association with Louise Hay.
- 7:12So if you love Louise Hay, you're going to really enjoy
- 7:16this. So just get ready for it.
- 7:20And I do give a trigger warning. But the good news is that there
- 7:25is always light at the end of the tunnel.
- 7:29So, you know, we don't realize that our lives today are a
- 7:35product of where we've come from in our relationships in the way
- 7:40that we hold pain. Perhaps just give us an overview
- 7:45of of how it started, from abuse from a person that you are
- 7:50supposed to trust and move through to some horrific
- 7:55obviously experiences that you had.
- 7:59Yeah, absolutely. So as you said, for me, it
- 8:03started when I was in diapers. It was before I could even
- 8:07remember. I was sexually molested on a
- 8:11regular basis by my father and this had been happening so long
- 8:18and so regularly. I didn't know it wasn't normal.
- 8:22I didn't know that this wasn't love.
- 8:26I didn't know that not all fathers did this.
- 8:29And I knew it was something that I dreaded.
- 8:32But I knew it was also something that just had to happen, was my
- 8:36belief. And so it was just normal for
- 8:40me. And at 7 years old, an
- 8:44experience happened where somebody, somebody else in my
- 8:48family walked in on a friend. And I thought that we were doing
- 8:53something that we were not doing, knew or at least thought
- 8:58that something else was going on with my father, that he may be
- 9:01doing this to me. And so they pulled me aside and
- 9:04said, is this happening? And I said, yeah.
- 9:08And coming from a very, very religious family, God was very
- 9:11prominent in our family. Righteousness, obedience, all of
- 9:15these things were very prominent.
- 9:16And so they then convinced me that because I was letting this
- 9:21happen, not that it was my fault, but because I wasn't
- 9:24stopping it, that God didn't love me and that I wasn't worthy
- 9:30of his love and of his blessings.
- 9:31And any of that. And at that time, in that
- 9:35moment, they made me kneel down and pray and repent for being
- 9:41unworthy because I was letting this.
- 9:43Happen. And then it was never spoken of
- 9:48again. I was sent back to my room to
- 9:50play with my friend and there was no playing.
- 9:54I remember just running and laying in my bed, cried myself
- 9:59to sleep and just kept thinking. We keep getting taught in church
- 10:05that God loves everybody. All the sinners, all the
- 10:08murderers, all the rapists, all the horrible people, and I'm a 7
- 10:13year old little girl and he doesn't love me.
- 10:16Whoa. And there was something it, it
- 10:20was massive. It it, I didn't realize at the
- 10:23time, but there was something in me that broke.
- 10:28But I. Had to keep being the victim
- 10:32because submission was demanded. We lived in a household where
- 10:37physical, mental, emotional abuse happened all the time as
- 10:41well. We were under very controlling
- 10:44parents. We could not speak unless spoken
- 10:46to. We could not ask questions.
- 10:48We could not pursue anything that we had interest in unless
- 10:51it was approved by our parents. And so I just kept going through
- 10:57the motions every day. And every time it happened, I
- 11:01just believed that I was a worse and worse and worse person, that
- 11:07I had no worth, that all my worth was gone because I
- 11:11couldn't stop this from happening.
- 11:16And that this is this is just so, you know, common and it one
- 11:23thing that does happen to all of us, and maybe you can teach
- 11:27around this, is that we store these emotions in our body and
- 11:33then it manifests, it comes out because the body keeps the
- 11:39score. And as you said, it became your
- 11:44normal. So you thought it was actually
- 11:46normal to be going through this. But here's you living out this
- 11:54belief system and this is exactly what you are now doing
- 11:59for people today. So you are helping them to
- 12:03develop the courage to hold them as you've been held.
- 12:08As Louise Hay had her own very, very similar experience.
- 12:13And then show them how through the many modalities and the
- 12:19power of the mind, you can actually heal yourself and heal
- 12:27others, which is such a such a beautiful gift.
- 12:32Now, your journey started out where you were obviously 23
- 12:39years doing massage, but this is not just any kind of massage
- 12:44because you were also blending this with energy work.
- 12:49And maybe you can just talk us through this and how this energy
- 12:56work and this style of massage is so powerful.
- 13:01Sure, absolutely. So there was something in me
- 13:06that I've always known that I wanted to help people in some
- 13:10way, shape or form. And somebody mentioned to me at
- 13:1318, why don't you go into massage therapy?
- 13:17You know, I was the person that would run around and just like,
- 13:20rub everybody's shoulders when we were in groups.
- 13:22And they're like, you're really good.
- 13:23And it clicked. And I'm like, OK.
- 13:27And of course, we all have this idea of what massage therapy is,
- 13:30which I call a fluff and buff where you just lay down and it's
- 13:34very relaxing and there's music playing and you might fall
- 13:37asleep and if you have sore muscles, you feel good for a day
- 13:40or two. And very quickly, when I went
- 13:44into massage therapy school, that didn't appeal to me.
- 13:49And throughout the years, I've been trained on 42 different
- 13:52modalities within under the umbrella of massage therapy
- 13:56slash energy work. And very quickly what did
- 14:00resonate with me was this more of a rehabilitative sports kind
- 14:07of let's there's a problem, we know there's a problem and let's
- 14:12figure out what that problem is versus how the body's
- 14:16manifesting. So what is the problem versus
- 14:18the symptoms? Because they don't always line
- 14:21up, actually rarely do they line up.
- 14:24So somebody can have hip pain and doctors are trying to treat
- 14:27the hip and there's nothing wrong with the hip.
- 14:29It's actually because they have a knee issue and their body's
- 14:32out of line and they're compensating and it's just
- 14:35manifesting in the hip. And a lot of that can be found.
- 14:40A lot of it can be worked with energy work along with massage.
- 14:45And so that is what I was very drawn to and it was more about
- 14:50helping people figure out a long term solution so they could
- 14:55function better and function differently instead of just
- 14:59helping them feel better for a day or two, basically putting a
- 15:02Band-Aid on a broken leg. And that is what I did for, I've
- 15:08been doing for 23 years. I've worked with chiropractors
- 15:11and professional athletes and clinics and all of these things,
- 15:16working with people. And so it's all about getting to
- 15:19the root, getting to the core and healing that versus treating
- 15:25something else that the body's just saying, oh, this is where
- 15:28it's going to show. This is very, very unique work,
- 15:34I would like to say. And obviously, if you happen to
- 15:37live in the same town as Carrie and whereabouts are you?
- 15:42I'm actually in Wisconsin, just outside of Milwaukee.
- 15:46Yeah, OK. The fact is that Carrie works
- 15:50with people so that she can help you to heal yourself, so that if
- 15:57you are in a different city like myself, I'm in Perth, WA, you
- 16:01will still be able to get the benefits of all of this.
- 16:06If you happen to be in the same city as Carrie, you don't, you
- 16:10don't want to miss this. I know that energetics is what
- 16:14we call it in my world. And so we believe that trapped
- 16:19energy in the body needs to be pulled out.
- 16:25And we discover that and we pull it out and we change it.
- 16:28We recode it, we rewire it, and then we install.
- 16:33You know what that person needs. So what did you discover that
- 16:38that inner child needed? I mean, you were completely
- 16:42violated by a man that is supposed to be the one man that
- 16:47you look up to and that you can trust.
- 16:51And I can only imagine how that did impact your relationships as
- 16:55well. And I think you were talking to
- 16:58me backstage about how you used to put those barriers and walls
- 17:03up, you know, with anyone that was getting close because the
- 17:08problem is that the subconscious mind doesn't differentiate in
- 17:13time. So all it's doing is protecting
- 17:17from, you know, getting hurt again.
- 17:20So perhaps perhaps you can perhaps, you know, share how
- 17:25that impacted you because I know there's going to be listeners
- 17:29out there and this is going to fall into the hands of people
- 17:33that need to hear this and need to know that they do not have to
- 17:39put up with this anymore. And through your experience, So
- 17:44can you share how that kind of came out in your life and how it
- 17:50impacted? Did you?
- 17:52Of course, One thing that I do want to step back for just a
- 17:56moment and say at age 10, I actually had spoken out and had
- 18:03gone to somebody else in my family and said this is
- 18:06happening to me. And I was basically told just
- 18:10forget about it. And they walked out the door.
- 18:13And so at that time, I lived in the kind of household that you
- 18:17do what you're told. And so I forced myself to forget
- 18:21that happened. I shoved it so far down inside
- 18:25of me that I was constantly triggered throughout the rest of
- 18:29my life. But I didn't know that's what
- 18:31was happening. I didn't know why I would react
- 18:35certain ways I, I, I couldn't. There were certain ways that I
- 18:39was being that I didn't want to be, that I didn't ever feel I
- 18:43could change. And at the same time, there was
- 18:46this massive belief, just I don't even know if it was
- 18:52mental. It was more emotional of I am so
- 18:56broken. I am just not a whole person.
- 19:02I am not OK. God doesn't love me.
- 19:04And I didn't know where it came from because I had forgotten
- 19:06everything to do with all of that abuse.
- 19:09So when it came to friendships or relationships or pretty much
- 19:14anything having to do with other people, especially with men, it
- 19:19was always so terrifying to me that if they decided to show me
- 19:26any sort of attention, I would suddenly push them away.
- 19:30And sometimes it was physical, sometimes it was a verbal.
- 19:32And sometimes I would call them up and just say, hey, I give you
- 19:37permission to walk away from me because I know I'm not worth
- 19:41this and I'm not. You know, I would self sabotage
- 19:43all the time. And then I would step back and
- 19:46be so hurt and wonder why I couldn't be in a relationship
- 19:49and why nobody wanted to fight for me and and why I couldn't
- 19:54ever make things work or what to change or how to change it.
- 19:59Yeah. So for 990, yeah, yeah, I note
- 20:03that you because you work with people that are also having
- 20:08very, very difficult problems connecting with their
- 20:12significant other, finding their soulmate or knowing that person.
- 20:18I just want to say an echo carries message here and that is
- 20:23that you are not broken and. If you are not connecting on the
- 20:29level with yourself that you know that you truly desire,
- 20:35there is a reason you anything that you desire desires you.
- 20:41And this is where by coming into to Carrie's portal, whether that
- 20:47be to go in face to face or to connect with her, what is going
- 20:53to happen is Carrie's going to be able to take coaching
- 20:57questions that are not just normal coaching questions, But
- 21:01we're going to open that up also in a moment and walk through the
- 21:07process of how you can heal your life.
- 21:10And I'm sounding like Louise Hay as I echo this.
- 21:15So you're, you are obviously suffering from so much Carrie,
- 21:22and yet how did your life change once you did heal yourself on
- 21:29that cellular level? What happened to you?
- 21:32What were you noticing? You know, like all of a sudden
- 21:36your normal becomes a new normal.
- 21:40That probably would have felt like it was abnormal Once Upon a
- 21:44time. But it becomes your, you know,
- 21:46your next level. So can you talk us through that?
- 21:51Of course. So I had developed a lot of
- 21:55immune issues, I had developed chronic issues.
- 21:59I had developed, like you stated at the beginning, fibromyalgia,
- 22:03chronic fatigue, epilepsy. They couldn't ever find a reason
- 22:08why I started having seizures. I started having them at 20.
- 22:12No history of this, no family history, No, they did all the
- 22:15tests and couldn't find anything and it was just very, very
- 22:19strange. Then at 24, I was diagnosed with
- 22:22fibromyalgia and then it was 29, I believe I was diagnosed with
- 22:28chronic fatigue. And my life got to a point after
- 22:32so many years because I was still carrying all of this
- 22:35unknown trauma, a decade of trauma that I wasn't aware of,
- 22:40plus still going through some trauma at the same time that it
- 22:45wore my body down to the point where I could go from my office
- 22:52to my bed. And that was just about it every
- 22:55day. I actually had to give up my
- 22:57massage practice for about 6 years because I physically
- 23:01couldn't function. And it just was this.
- 23:06And I was only in my early 30s and I was just like, I what?
- 23:11How am I going to live the rest of my life like this?
- 23:14And I was single because I had all these issues with creating
- 23:18relationships. And I'm like, this is just not
- 23:21any sort of life. And how long can?
- 23:24I do this for and there were all of these beliefs that then were
- 23:29created because of that. So I had these beliefs that
- 23:32didn't serve me, that were actually hurting me and creating
- 23:36walls, which caused me to take on new beliefs.
- 23:39And so it just kind of piled on itself and was very, very
- 23:43difficult accumulation. That's that's what happens.
- 23:47And it's a it's a slow death of your ability to feel what is
- 23:55rightfully belonging to you. And that's why I want to
- 23:57emphasize to everyone, it doesn't matter what you're going
- 24:01through, what you've been through.
- 24:04Today can be the first day for the rest of your life.
- 24:09Sometimes just understanding that everything that has
- 24:14happened to you has happened for a purpose.
- 24:17And obviously, Carrie, that's that's the mission of this show,
- 24:21the genius Zone. So now you are the authority on
- 24:26this. So let's take a look at what
- 24:29that looks like when you are helping a person to really come
- 24:36into, you know, understanding where everything is coming from
- 24:42so they can be set free to be living the life of love and
- 24:47health and freedom. So what does it look like?
- 24:52Let's just say I am coming to you.
- 24:55I'm your client. And I'm saying, well, you know,
- 25:00at the moment I am feeling almost as if I, I have a, a,
- 25:09kind of a, a situation where people may mistake kindness for
- 25:14weakness. Now I understand where you've
- 25:17come from and I absolutely 100% thank God, you know, I had a
- 25:24beautiful father. So I, you know, that that was
- 25:27extremely important to really, did you know, and still does
- 25:32nurture us. And so that trust was there.
- 25:35And I can only not even imagine what it would be like to be
- 25:38violated, but I feel that a lot of things that did happen to me
- 25:44during my younger years happened because maybe my kindness, my
- 25:50niceness. And I think I did have that.
- 25:53Ohh, I've got to be this person, this Pollyanna because there was
- 26:00that element of, you know, having that perfection attitude,
- 26:05as much as my parents come from, you know, a very well meaning
- 26:10everything. So you put on this Pollyanna
- 26:14front and then as a result, people can mistake that for
- 26:19weakness. And that's where you can get
- 26:23steamrolled and that's where you can get taken advantage of.
- 26:27And that's where I also believe that if people can turn their
- 26:30pain into their power and say this is happening for a higher
- 26:36reason. So let's go into your higher
- 26:40reason, how you have helped rewire people's minds, bodies,
- 26:47and relationships. Can you tell me what that looks
- 26:52like and take me through that? Sure.
- 26:55And, and I'd like to, to say this first, there are people
- 27:00that hear my story or read my story or to see this podcast or
- 27:04hear me speak on stage and they come up to me and they say,
- 27:07well, my trauma isn't as big as your trauma or I didn't suffer
- 27:12like you did. So and, and they think that that
- 27:15invalidates them because their experiences are very different
- 27:18from what I've been through. And I just want to say trauma is
- 27:22trauma. If you had a second grade
- 27:25teacher that was mean to you and said something to you and it it
- 27:29shifted something inside, that's trauma.
- 27:32And so it's. Funny you should say that
- 27:35because that's exactly true for me, only it was a grown 3
- 27:38teacher and that teacher impacted my life, you know, and
- 27:43I'll never forget her. But yeah, yeah.
- 27:47So it's funny you should say that actually and bring that up.
- 27:50So what? What happened?
- 27:52So when obviously a person is coming into your the journey
- 27:58with you, how do you move them through where they've been
- 28:05survival mode and, you know, take them out of that and help
- 28:10them to stand in their power? Sure.
- 28:14So it the process for me begins with a conversation.
- 28:19Some. The.
- 28:22Conversations are just going to be you.
- 28:27Talk to me. What do you want?
- 28:29What do you want to fix 'cause there's nothing wrong with
- 28:33anybody, but we often feel like there's something wrong with us.
- 28:38And so it's what do you want to change?
- 28:41Where do you feel like you're getting stuck?
- 28:43And it it's just gathering information and then after that
- 28:48it's helping them to see the places they're getting stuck
- 28:54that they don't realize they're getting stuck.
- 28:58So much of that is breaking. Down societal norms, beliefs or
- 29:03truths that we take on that aren't necessarily true, but
- 29:09because society says this is how we're supposed to be or this is
- 29:13how we should think or whatever we believe that's true.
- 29:17So we function in a way and we're not even conscious of
- 29:20that. So it's holding up a mirror
- 29:23basically and saying. What is this doing for?
- 29:28You how is this serving you? Is it is there something we
- 29:32could do different? Is there a way that this is
- 29:35affecting you? And a lot of times it's very
- 29:39quickly I can help people go right into their bodies like the
- 29:43Weese hate teaches is what is. Going on inside.
- 29:47Of you and. I know when my the.
- 29:50Very first coach I ever worked with.
- 29:52He would say, what are you feeling?
- 29:54And I would say I'm feeling frustrated or I'm feeling angry
- 29:57or I'm feeling and he goes, those are thoughts.
- 29:59And I'm like, no, that's how I feel.
- 30:01And he goes, no, that's what you're thinking.
- 30:03What's happening inside? Are you feeling something?
- 30:07Where are you feeling it? What does it look like?
- 30:10Is it moving? Is it spiky?
- 30:12Is it, is it growing? Is it, you know, where is
- 30:16something happening inside of you?
- 30:20Let's tap into that and focus on that.
- 30:24And then what's coming up from that?
- 30:26Because so much of what we say is habitual.
- 30:28It's the same language that we've been taught and that we
- 30:31know. But if we can go inside and tap
- 30:35into what our organs are holding on to, what energy is holding on
- 30:41to, what our muscles are holding on to, then.
- 30:45We can tap into. The root we can tap into the
- 30:48core and a lot of times the things that we're experiencing
- 30:53are just these symptoms. And if I can give you an
- 30:56example, I have a client that I'm working with right now who
- 31:01started working with me because she she reached out to me
- 31:05initially. She said I've got this issue
- 31:07with money and I don't want to spend money and I know it's a
- 31:09money issue and we had. A couple of.
- 31:13Conversations before we ever agreed to work together.
- 31:15And I'm like, I can help you because in these conversations,
- 31:20I could tell by asking questions, the issue wasn't
- 31:24about money. The issue was about stuff that
- 31:27had happened in her past that she was now projecting onto
- 31:31money, that money wasn't a good thing.
- 31:34Money wasn't appropriate. There was never going to be, you
- 31:37know, enough money to be fulfilled.
- 31:39And as we've been working, we've been able to really go inward
- 31:43and shift this. And I'm like, where is this
- 31:46coming from? Where is this not enoughness
- 31:48coming from? And she's like.
- 31:51I had an experience at a. Camp when I was 12 years old.
- 31:54OK, start there. And she goes.
- 31:56I haven't thought about this in years, I know.
- 31:59I know, amazing. That's what our.
- 32:03Nervous system does. That's what our is.
- 32:06Like you said, try. And keep it safe.
- 32:08And so the more we work on her past and her trauma, even though
- 32:14she doesn't see it as trauma, she's starting to, the more we
- 32:18step back in to pay. How are you feeling about money?
- 32:21If I say all these things that triggered you before, they're
- 32:25not as triggering anymore because the core beliefs are no
- 32:30longer there or they're being worked on, they're being
- 32:33processed, they're being addressed.
- 32:35I mean, feelings are there to be felt.
- 32:37They just want to be felt. And we tend to push them down
- 32:40and we don't want to feel them. But if we can allow these things
- 32:44that are scary, that are difficult, that are, you know,
- 32:47even painful to be felt, that's all they want.
- 32:53It's interesting trying. Healing, heal.
- 32:56It isn't it, it's, it's, it's the acknowledging that it is OK
- 33:01to be feeling those feelings and, you know, connecting with
- 33:07the memories because I believe people don't realize that what
- 33:13is actually coming up for them is really a memory of the past.
- 33:18And, you know, with that, I mean, what happened to you,
- 33:23because obviously this is where it is manifesting in, you know,
- 33:28pain of the body, pain of the mind, pain of the life.
- 33:32So you healed some pretty big stuff in yourself.
- 33:38Can you walk me a little bit through that process?
- 33:40If, if, if that's OK, just to add that value to our listeners,
- 33:45Like what did that look like? So for example, did you have an
- 33:50experience, particularly with, say fibromyalgia or chronic
- 33:54fatigue and you know, or even epilepsy that you would like to
- 33:59kind of specifically go into what that process was when you
- 34:06released it? And helped yourself heal.
- 34:11I I love that question. Thank you.
- 34:15It it wasn't quite that where I physically sorry, where I
- 34:21mentally said here's this ailment that I have.
- 34:24I want to release that what happened was for the first.
- 34:31Probably 5 or 6. Months that my coach and I were
- 34:35working together, just working on trauma memories, trauma
- 34:38experiences. The ones that I did remember I.
- 34:43Noticed after a. While that there was, you know,
- 34:46with epilepsy, I've been on medication for decades.
- 34:50But even if you're on medication, lack of sleep or
- 34:52stress can cause seizures to still happen anyway.
- 34:55And I remember on a day, probably three or four months,
- 34:59like I said, working with him, I was so upset about something.
- 35:04I was really stressed. And I just kept thinking, I've
- 35:06got to come down, I've got to come down, I'm going to have a
- 35:08seizure. And I wasn't able to calm myself
- 35:13down enough and I didn't have a seizure.
- 35:17And I'm like, well, that's interesting.
- 35:22And I, I just kind of, you know, wrote it down and put it to the
- 35:25side and just kept going on with life.
- 35:28And then probably about a month later, there was something else
- 35:31where I was doing all of this work and all this new creations
- 35:36and projects and stuff. And I was so exhausted.
- 35:38And I'm like, I've got to get some sleep or else I'm going to
- 35:41have a seizure. The seizure never happened.
- 35:46Oh, wow. So I.
- 35:46Went back and I. Looked and I was looking at what
- 35:49I had written before about oh, I was really surprised about this.
- 35:53And then I started thinking about the fibromyalgia and I'm
- 35:55like. I haven't had a flare up in a
- 35:59little. While and that's.
- 36:01When it really started. Realizing the chronic fatigue
- 36:04and all the other chronic illnesses that I had, and I'm
- 36:06like, wait a second. The time where I could go.
- 36:10From my office to my bedroom and that was it.
- 36:13I'm now starting to cold plunge. I'm now starting to rebound.
- 36:19I'm now started running, which I've never wanted to do and I
- 36:23still don't do it well and it's OK and I but I do it more than I
- 36:29ever have before in my life. And I'm like, I couldn't walk
- 36:32before. How am I going into this
- 36:35freezing cold lake every day? How am I running through these
- 36:40trails every day? And I realized that all of these
- 36:44ailments just started fading away and the more that we did
- 36:49them and it wasn't a complete getting rid of them.
- 36:53It was a gradual thing. And I still have flare ups
- 36:56occasionally, but I think this year I've had maybe 2 flare ups
- 37:00of fibromyalgia that have lasted maybe a day or two, whereas
- 37:04before that would be the norm of when I didn't have a flare up.
- 37:09And. So chronic.
- 37:12Chronic fatigue I can think of maybe two or three times this
- 37:16year and they they last about a day.
- 37:19It's that's completely. Ironic.
- 37:22That is so ironic. And so do you believe, I mean,
- 37:26Louise Hay cured herself or healed herself of cancer.
- 37:31And, you know, a lot of people would understand that, you know,
- 37:37because she had a very similar story to yours.
- 37:40And, you know, the Deepak Chopra says it very well and that is
- 37:45that the cells of our body are ears dropping on our thoughts.
- 37:49So we are in automatic. Our thoughts are an automatic
- 37:54system. We don't wake up in the morning
- 37:56and go, you know what? Today I'm going to think about
- 38:00all the best times that I've ever felt So energized, so
- 38:05happy, so excited, so uplifted. Unfortunately, we don't do that
- 38:10stuff. We actually, our brain is wired
- 38:14to look for the the rubbish and we could hear three people
- 38:20saying to us something amazing and then one person comes up and
- 38:24annihilates us and we focus on that one thing there.
- 38:29So our brain is, is is wired to do that.
- 38:33And obviously Louise Hay did the same thing.
- 38:37She healed the cells of her body and that happened at the
- 38:43cellular level of her thinking where she transmuted it.
- 38:48So do you think there is at a deeper level, you know, some
- 38:54sort of like, I know I do a lot of forgiveness work with what
- 38:58I'm doing. What do you feel that are some
- 39:01of the keys? Is it more around the
- 39:03acceptance? Is it forgiveness?
- 39:06Is it acknowledgement? Is it all of the above?
- 39:10Can you walk us through that a little?
- 39:13Yeah, it's. It's the answer to that is yes,
- 39:16it is. It is all of.
- 39:17It, it's all part of it. If we go into a little bit more
- 39:21scientific mode, there's. Neural Pathways.
- 39:25In the brain, science has proven this, that when a thought is
- 39:28created, it goes down a pathway that's already created, that
- 39:31we've created throughout our lifetime.
- 39:33And so when it comes to what do we look for, we look for the
- 39:37negative things. There's a neural pathway that is
- 39:40just going back and forth saying, hey, we found it.
- 39:42Let's let's hold on to that one. That's what we want to hold on
- 39:45to. And so a lot of this is changing
- 39:50that and catching that, and you can actually create new neural
- 39:55pathways in your brain. And so the acknowledgement of
- 40:00these events, the acceptance of things that were done to you or
- 40:05things that you may have done that you're still holding on to,
- 40:08the forgiveness, the actual process and letting go of stuff.
- 40:13All of these things step by step will help create new neural
- 40:18pathways because as your brain catches something, you get to
- 40:24what I have a friend that calls it catch and release.
- 40:26So you get to say, oh, there's something negative.
- 40:29I'm going to catch on to that because you're not responsible
- 40:32for your first thought. That's a reaction, but you're
- 40:34responsible for your second thought.
- 40:37So I get that and I say, hey, that's negative.
- 40:39I want to think about it. And then you get to say, I'm
- 40:42going to catch this and release that.
- 40:44I don't need to think about that.
- 40:46I don't need to hold on to that or choose to think of something
- 40:49else or choose to let that go or whatever.
- 40:51There's a million different things that we can do with that,
- 40:54but it's just stopping it. And it's what there's so many
- 40:59different processes as well. I went through three different
- 41:02therapists that couldn't help me because it was talk therapy and
- 41:05talk therapy didn't work for my brain.
- 41:07It works for a lot of people. Coaches do a lot of different
- 41:11techniques and we just, I almost, I call it playing with
- 41:15my clients and let's try this and see if this helps you.
- 41:20Maybe this will help you more. And they get to tell me, they
- 41:23get to terminate, they get to decide this is what I want to
- 41:27do, let's keep going down this road because that helped me to
- 41:31catch and release these things the best, the fastest, the
- 41:35easiest, whatever it is for them.
- 41:37And so there's a million different processes.
- 41:41It's not cut and dry for everyone, but there is something
- 41:46for everyone. There's not a person out there
- 41:49that is. There's not going to be
- 41:51something that we can find for to help them start to create
- 41:55these new nerve pathways and start to start functioning,
- 41:59start thinking differently and just start breaking down the
- 42:02walls that are in front of them. Amazing.
- 42:05That is so powerful. And you know, as Louise Hay said
- 42:10it very nicely, you can heal your life.
- 42:12And as Carrie is here to tell you, you can rewire your life.
- 42:17You can live the life of love. You can live your life of your
- 42:23health and freedom. You are in control.
- 42:27And what we're going to do is we're going to put Carrie's
- 42:31contact details in the show notes so that you can contact
- 42:36this lady. And if you love Louise Hayes
- 42:40work, you are going to love what this beautiful lady can do for
- 42:46you. And you know, the show just
- 42:49wouldn't be the show without this question because quite
- 42:51often people will get off and go, oh, I wished I had a said
- 42:56this or that. But maybe there's something you
- 42:58want to reiterate or it's something else you'd like to
- 43:02share. But you know, if you had
- 43:04something that that person out there, they're actually praying
- 43:09to hear your message right now when they hear it, and this is
- 43:13exactly the divine time, what would you want to say to them?
- 43:21Do it scary, do it scared. This work, stepping into it, is
- 43:30terrifying, changing your life because we like what is
- 43:34familiar. Even if it's painful, even if
- 43:38it's depressing, We like what's familiar.
- 43:43It's going to be. Scary to step into something
- 43:46new. Do it scared, do it tired, do it
- 43:49anxious, but just step forward. I used to tell people, sorry, I
- 43:55used to hate it when people would say if I can do it,
- 43:58anybody can do it right? And I would always think they
- 44:02had a family that was supportive, they had money, they
- 44:05had other resources. That doesn't apply to me.
- 44:09If I from. Where I came from, if I can get
- 44:13through what I've gotten through and I can change and get to the
- 44:16other side of all that trauma and create a life that I never
- 44:22believed that I would have, anybody can do it.
- 44:27And there are people out there that will help.
- 44:29There's communities, there's tribes that you can find that
- 44:33people will hold you and they will love you unconditionally
- 44:38and they will help you get. Over that mountain.
- 44:42So you can see that glorious life and to have that belief in
- 44:46yourself that you are, that's on the other side.
- 44:49So whatever you want to do, whatever you want to step into,
- 44:53do it and do it scared. I love that.
- 44:59And if they do it scared and they face their fear and do it
- 45:03anyway, what will they expect? It's.
- 45:07Unimaginable. I mean, everything that they
- 45:11dream and they want to do is completely possible and and.
- 45:17There is so. Much more.
- 45:19I am doing things still to this day that a year ago, two years
- 45:23ago, I would have never imagined I could have accomplished ever,
- 45:27never happened because it all. There's this freedom there.
- 45:31Now there's a freedom because those walls are knocked down,
- 45:36because I know that I am not broken.
- 45:39I know that I'm not worthless. I know that I'm lovable.
- 45:43All things that I couldn't believe that I thought were true
- 45:47for over 45 years and. Now that I know that it just.
- 45:52Opens up the world. It opens up the world and
- 45:56everything that I was carrying inside of me.
- 45:59Every event, every negative look that somebody gave me, every
- 46:02insult, none of those matter. I didn't have to hold them.
- 46:08I didn't. Have to hold them.
- 46:09I didn't. Have to believe any of them.
- 46:12I get to believe whatever I. Want to believe about anything
- 46:15in this world, and not in an egotistical, defensive way, but
- 46:19I truly get to believe in myself as a miracle.
- 46:25I get to believe in these clients that I work with who are
- 46:30trying so hard to just. Get through, whatever.
- 46:35'S in front of them and they just don't know how.
- 46:39And it is such a joy. For me to be able to hold space
- 46:43for them and say let me help you because I know what that's like.
- 46:48I will tell people. Everything telling my story to
- 46:52give them permission to have that space where they know they
- 46:57are not going to be judged because.
- 46:59Whatever you've been. Through I, I know what it feels
- 47:03like. I know what it feels like.
- 47:06That's beautiful. I love that.
- 47:09So Carrie, we're going to have all your details in the show
