- 2:04Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, all right, so we can't see names if you drop names in the chat.
- 2:13Speaker 1: If you're here, make sure you like the video so they don't kick me off YouTube and I'm going to do a special, I'm going to take a special moment here because, honestly, I was so impressed just having the talk with you about your company.
- 2:29Speaker 1: We are wonderfully made.
- 2:31Speaker 1: This is an authentic, traditional I'm going to say authentic and traditional Trinidadian sauce.
- 2:37Speaker 1: My whole Jamaican family just left.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Y'all, they've really taken what I said.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I said this in the readout, taking taste buds on a different journey.
- 2:49Speaker 1: So so Amon is a visionary behind this organization.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I want to talk about her journey, of how she came up with some of the flavors, how she made this into the essence of Caribbean food.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And again, just a shout out to all of my Jamaican family Y'all, don't hang up, we go, we go and get through this.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 3:10Speaker 1: We love the Trinidadian sauce.
- 3:12Speaker 2: We can all share, we can all be together.
- 3:17Speaker 1: So what made you do this?
- 3:19Speaker 1: How did you get inspired to start?
- 3:22Speaker 1: We Are Wonderfully Made.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Where do I begin?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Um, so well, I'll start with this.
- 3:29Speaker 2: So, my, as far as I can remember, I always wanted my own business of some sort, something that I was super proud of, that I own.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And I think a lot of people kind of have that vision where you dream of, you know, being able to work for yourself and do something that you really love.
- 3:47Speaker 2: That means something to you.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Um, and, to be honest, I think I got that from my father, because my father, ever since I was born, he's also a successful entrepreneur.
- 3:56Speaker 2: He works in, you know, finance and the stock market and that sort of thing.
- 3:59Speaker 2: And ever since I was little, he was always like you should sell this.
- 4:02Speaker 2: He would come home with like little sewing kits and be like decorate and embellish clothes and do this and sell this.
- 4:08Speaker 2: So he always kind of it was just, was always, you know, in my home and I think I really got that from him.
- 4:13Speaker 2: But I couldn't figure out for the life of me what I really wanted to do, because I knew I was like I'm not going to set myself up for failure.
- 4:22Speaker 2: If I don't like something, you're going to know it's all over the place.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I'm like I can't commit and so I'm like if I'm going to do this, I know I need to want to do this forever.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And so I mean I still have my notebooks of like the ideas that I had written down and I just was like I don't care, it's not it.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And so fast forward.
- 4:47Speaker 2: My grandmother.
- 4:48Speaker 2: She's from Trinidad.
- 4:49Speaker 2: She was a huge part of my life growing up my father's mom and she had moved away at some point when I was younger and she came back to visit and she was always cooking.
- 5:00Speaker 2: She was always teaching me how to make dishes and I loved it.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I love our food and all that stuff that we grew up with.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And this particular day she made pepper sauce and I was like why?
- 5:10Speaker 2: I was like why?
- 5:12Speaker 2: But because you know, I had been around my friends who would put, like you know, hot sauce to any kind of hot sauce you can think of.
- 5:22Speaker 2: They would put it on their pizza or whatever, and they'd be like it's so good, you got to try it.
- 5:25Speaker 2: And I would try it.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And I'd be like this sucks dude, like I can't taste my food, and I would be so irritated because I was like I bought this dish because I want to taste it and you have me put this crap on here and I don't taste anything.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Now you ruin the whole thing.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 5:39Speaker 2: So I was like I think I'm good, and my dad's like pour it all over his food.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And he's like no, no, you got to try it.
- 5:50Speaker 2: You got to try it and I was like all right, fine, I'll try it.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And I immediately was like whoa?
- 5:57Speaker 2: I was like this tastes nothing like all the other hot sauces that are out there.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And I remember saying like my food actually tastes better, it has more flavor.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And the wheels started to turn.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And here goes my dad.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Again he's like eat.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And he's like you mind you should sell this.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And I was like now, my whole life.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Again he's like sell this, sell that.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And I'm like no, and this time I went wait a minute.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I think this is it.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I think I can really do this, and I think one of the biggest questions people have is like what made you want to do it?
- 6:29Speaker 2: And like, yeah, where does that passion come from?
- 6:32Speaker 2: For me, it's my family.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I have always been extremely close with my family.
- 6:37Speaker 2: My family, my parents, have been the best parents.
- 6:42Speaker 2: If there's anything I can say that they did really well.
- 6:46Speaker 2: It's that they've always instilled pride in who we are, where we come from, and that has always been such a huge foundation of my self-confidence and loving the ways that I'm different from everybody else and being proud of that.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And so this sauce is some of the best memories of my childhood.
- 7:09Speaker 2: It's the food that I love.
- 7:10Speaker 2: It's where I come from, where we come from, when I grew up with, and all of that is tied into my drive and my passion sharing this with people.
- 7:20Speaker 2: And I have found very quickly that there are so many people that don't know what way or turn it out into Mexico is.
- 7:27Speaker 2: They've never heard of it.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I mean, I've had people feel like what part of Mexico is that?
- 7:31Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh baby, oh my love, there's this really fun.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Like people like, because that's the other thing too.
- 7:42Speaker 2: When I started making it with my grandmother, I would just give it out for free because I'm like I really like this, but if nobody else does, then there's not a business here.
- 7:50Speaker 2: But that was so exciting was giving it out and having people have the same reaction that I had.
- 7:56Speaker 2: They were like, oh my God, this is so good, it has so much flavor, you know.
- 7:59Speaker 2: And then they're like where can I get more?
- 8:01Speaker 2: And so there's this like bringing something new to people.
- 8:04Speaker 2: There's this like educational factor behind it and watching people get really excited to learn new flavors and learn new places and learn new things.
- 8:11Speaker 2: So it's all of that and I'll stop talking so you can ask me more questions.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I just got hungry.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I just got hungry and, for those of you who dropped in a chat about pepper sauce, it is a staple and it does vary in the islands based on where you live, and so I think the, I think the other thing that I was just really drawn to.
- 8:33Speaker 1: A lot of times people launch brands, or they launch business or they launch I got it.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Audrey said not Mexico.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Do I get to see all the comments?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, wow, okay, okay so we're in it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Okay, we're in it.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I love it.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I love it.
- 8:56Speaker 2: And even like my grandmother had stories too, like I remember calling her and being like somebody just asked me if this was in Mexico and she was like, like somebody asked me if, true, that was in Jamaica, I was like, and that's the other thing too, being American is most Americans only know Bob Marley, yes, and when they think of the Caribbean, that's all they think of and so I know, hi, I know.
- 9:27Speaker 2: So that also goes into the educational part of it and kind of the representation part of it.
- 9:33Speaker 2: There is so much to the West Indies, there's so many different parts and we don't all make the same things and I, part of my passion too is to really share that with people and be like, look, there's so much more that you don't know about, that you've never experienced.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I mean, I growing up I didn't ever see a single thing from Trinidad and to make on a grocery store shelves it was, like you know, maybe a Mexican product, maybe a Jamaican product, and that's all you got, and it's always down that single ethnic aisle.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I take my Afro down that aisle and like that's all I get Right.
- 10:10Speaker 2: So, like you know.
- 10:12Speaker 2: So there's a huge.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I felt like there's a huge gap in representation of the West Indies as a whole and other cultures.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So that's a whole another show.
- 10:22Speaker 1: We need to do a panel where we have folks that represent from the islands and we all come on and talk about.
- 10:28Speaker 1: You know our cultures and you know how we differ and how we're so much alike.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Because you know you share that, this passion.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I think this is part of why you're successful.
- 10:40Speaker 1: We're not going to give out her ingredients.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Y'all this is secret stuff, secret sauce, and you can go get your bottle.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You'll never get it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: We'll never get it.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And we'll make sure you have the link to go get your bottle.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Okay, so I would.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I, you know I would.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I would love to hear more, because you talked about the passion around the business.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Obviously, y'all she did market research.
- 11:03Speaker 1: So I just want to be clear, like, sometimes people have these great ideas and they, you know, grandma gave me a recipe and I'm just going to use that recipe and I'm going to build an empire, and now it's said, you run every supermarket.
- 11:17Speaker 1: In your case, what you did, I love that.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You started with just a passion and then you filled a need and then you added you know, you really took the time to understand flavor and the complexity of favor, because, again, as I said, pepper sauce is everywhere in the West Indies, but there's, there's, there's everything between hot sauce and pepper sauce.
- 11:37Speaker 1: This is not hot sauce, where you put the sauce on the food and it just it raises the temperature.
- 11:42Speaker 1: This is, this is a sauce that adds to the flavor.
- 11:45Speaker 1: That's the distinction.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And so I wanted, I wanted if you could talk a little bit more about some of what goes into you know, your product line, as you're, as you're creating, and then also tell us some of the different products that you have.
- 11:59Speaker 2: So I think what you'll find most popular hot sauces, right Cause there's also that funny line of like we're trying to be, you know, mainstream, want to sell to everybody.
- 12:14Speaker 2: We're not, we are.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Caribbean product, but we're not only selling to Caribbean people, we want to share it with everybody.
- 12:19Speaker 2: So there's this funny kind of line of like we call it pepper sauce, but then some people are like a little confused.
- 12:27Speaker 2: So then you kind of change it and be like it's a hot sauce.
- 12:29Speaker 2: but it's how we make it you know so it's different, and so I think the main thing you'll find, with a lot of really popular ones and cheaper ones at that, is you'll find chili peppers, vinegar, salt and like a preservative and that's pretty much it, and they're usually really watery.
- 12:47Speaker 2: So with us, the way that we make it in the lesson in Trinidad is there's fruits in there, there's vegetables in there, there's multiple peppers in there, there is vinegar as a base, because that preserves it, and then, of course, you know, grandma's, a pinch of sugar, a pinch of salt bring that flavor out right.
- 13:07Speaker 2: So it's much more complex.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It's a lot more ingredients.
- 13:12Speaker 2: And then what was also important to us was staying healthy, and I don't get to talk about this often and I think this was really really cool.
- 13:18Speaker 2: So both my partner and I my partner's, my husband, ryan we're both very much into health, always have been, and I've always want clean ingredients, all that sort of stuff.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Sodium benzoate is a preservative that's in a majority of mainstream hot sauces.
- 13:33Speaker 2: When I did research on that ingredient, it's actually listed as carcinogenic.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Okay, what?
- 13:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, look at that and I was like why is that in here?
- 13:46Speaker 2: And a lot of the times in food there's ingredients like that, because they're cheaper and they'll help it last.
- 13:56Speaker 2: And so what was really cool with ours is obviously my grandmother taught me how to do it and I took notes like crazy.
- 14:05Speaker 2: We went to the store together, we made it together and then I would practice it on my own.
- 14:09Speaker 2: All of the ingredients that she had me use just crazy pure, do you know what I mean?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Like there was nothing, no extra nonsense, nothing.
- 14:20Speaker 2: And then, when I brought it to scale it to make be able to do it in both sizes, I was like do I have to have this sort of preservative in here, this sodium benzoate?
- 14:30Speaker 2: They're like.
- 14:30Speaker 2: No, they're like the amount of vinegar that you use preserves it alone.
- 14:34Speaker 2: You don't need that.
- 14:34Speaker 2: So then I was like why are these other people doing that?
- 14:37Speaker 2: So with us, I think, too, we have a lot more ingredients, which also makes it a little bit more expensive, and you kind of have to be able to explain that to people and explain the value behind what you're doing, and we're also much healthier.
- 14:49Speaker 2: All of our ingredients are clean, and so those are kind of the foundation for the ingredients.
- 14:55Speaker 2: But I think the coolest part was that exactly how my grandmother taught me to make it fit all the boxes of like non GMO, low sodium, gluten free, vegan.
- 15:09Speaker 2: It was just naturally like that.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 15:11Speaker 2: I didn't have to try to make it fit vegan and all that sort of stuff, it just was.
- 15:16Speaker 2: And that was really like.
- 15:18Speaker 2: That was so cool and I don't get to talk about that very often.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I was like very excited to be like it was.
- 15:24Speaker 2: It was just like all these light bulbs, you know what I mean.
- 15:25Speaker 2: It was just like I love.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I think that is that is so important.
- 15:30Speaker 1: A lot of us are trying to eat.
- 15:31Speaker 1: We're trying to eat healthy.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Y'all saying this on behalf of everybody.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I know we are trying to eat healthy and I love the fact that that you share, that there's actual clean ingredients and the methodology of making the product and kind of the quality on the other side, y'all this.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Like I said, this isn't, this isn't those hot sauces where you pour it out and it's just liquid falling out.
- 15:55Speaker 1: So we will.
- 15:56Speaker 1: You know we can't show it on camera.
- 15:58Speaker 1: That's why you're not seeing it, but you know that it's not that.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So where did the, where did the name we are wonderfully made come from?
- 16:06Speaker 2: Like, how did you go back there?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Where do I begin?
- 16:10Speaker 2: That's just just put it as like my tagline for today when do I begin?
- 16:15Speaker 2: I do want to backtrack, though, because I think I missed part of your question, which is like what, how did we do the flavors?
- 16:21Speaker 2: So we started.
- 16:23Speaker 2: We started with the original, like pass down, gramma top.
- 16:28Speaker 2: This is exactly how it is.
- 16:29Speaker 2: That's our Trini, okay, and that's also.
- 16:32Speaker 2: It's so funny sometimes because we do a lot of events.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Sometimes people come up to us and they're like is that your grandma's name, grandma Trini?
- 16:39Speaker 2: And I'm like I love you so much.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But again it's like no, it's Trini, that's what we say Trinidadians.
- 16:47Speaker 2: That's like our little, you know, and they think so.
- 16:49Speaker 2: So that's always just a fun little thing.
- 16:54Speaker 2: But so that's our original.
- 16:56Speaker 2: That's plain and simple, and that's our hottest one too, of course.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Oh, wow, the mango was our second one, and that one Ryan and I made together, and I was super specific on that because I was like I cannot stand like that candy, fake fruit taste.
- 17:14Speaker 2: So when we were making that, I was like no, like we had to redo it so many times.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I was like that's not it, and I have to tell you I'm so glad I did that because that one has like become our best seller.
- 17:23Speaker 2: It's super popular.
- 17:25Speaker 2: What we really focused on, I wanted real mango.
- 17:28Speaker 2: There's real mango fruit in there and just that real mango sweetness, not like any added sugar.
- 17:35Speaker 2: And that's funny because I had a customer come up to me the other day and he's like it doesn't really say there's any sugar in here and I'm like that's because I'm like well, first of all, it's per serving size, but I'm like that's because we didn't add a bunch of sugar.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Mango fruit, healthy and it's delicious, exactly.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I love that.
- 17:55Speaker 2: And speaking with our third flavor, we just released that our third flavor is going to be pineapple, which was highly requested.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah for that.
- 18:02Speaker 2: So finally, we did that one too, and that will start shipping at the end of October.
- 18:08Speaker 2: But again, real pineapple and leave it alone.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I'm not doing the extra sugar.
- 18:14Speaker 2: That is just like not at the base of who we are as a company.
- 18:17Speaker 2: We want real stuff, real ingredients.
- 18:20Speaker 2: So that answers that question.
- 18:23Speaker 2: And then, how did I come up with the name?
- 18:26Speaker 2: So what you don't know is, aside from this, you know how you and I were talking and you were like oh yeah, I still have a day job too.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so for the last maybe 11 years, I have been modeling and acting.
- 18:43Speaker 2: So I've been doing that for a long time, really.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yes, a long time After college.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I graduated from college and then went right into that.
- 18:55Speaker 2: So I have worked with many brands and I have learned how important it is to really consider how people feel when they come in contact with your brand.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yes, the experience yeah, and it was really important to me.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I wanted people to feel right.
- 19:21Speaker 2: There's so much passion and love and care and all that behind this company that I started and I wanted people to feel a sense of that and also, having been in the fashion industry for so long, I watched my peers and it also happened to me kind of this breaking down of like your self-confidence in a way.
- 19:46Speaker 2: It's the type of industry that builds you up and slaps you down and I just watched so many people struggle and I struggled myself and I've always believed that our differences are really kind of the best parts about us.
- 20:06Speaker 2: We all share so much, but those weird, quirky things that I think so many people wanna change and say I don't fit in, I'd rather be like you.
- 20:15Speaker 2: It's not how I was raised and it goes back to that kind of foundational like being really proud of where I come from, where my family comes from, how I got here, and I really wanted people to have that reminder of we are wonderfully made, you're wonderfully made, I'm wonderfully made.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I wanted people to feel that and it was something that worked nicely as well, because we're in food, we're in hot sauce and of course, our sauces are wonderfully made, but I wanted there to be this kind of underlying message between human to human that you are also wonderfully made and I wanted that to be kind of a reminder.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Every time you saw me, every time you saw my company, every time you saw my sauce.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I wanted that to be there Because I just felt like people need that on a regular basis, and that's just what I wanted.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Wow, I absolutely I'm gonna.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And for those of y'all who are dropping comments, please drop your comments.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Don't forget to like the video so they don't kick us off the YouTube streets.
- 21:13Speaker 1: And thank you everybody who's watching live on PRADECTV.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I wanted to like pull on that a little bit because, to this very point about the experience and so when I see that name, we're wonderfully made.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think my perception is the amount of care that goes into the quality of the products that you're selling.
- 21:37Speaker 1: But y'all, it makes me just feel good as a human being because it's just an affirmation that I'm using for myself that's just being sponsored by this organization.
- 21:49Speaker 1: So I love the way that you kind of just position your brand strategy around something that's so positive, but it also really tells a really cool story about the actual products that you're providing.
- 22:04Speaker 1: And so this y'all this is a lesson in brand and marketing strategy and how you tie an experience if you're interested in becoming a business owner and entrepreneur.
- 22:14Speaker 1: You just trying to sell some stuff.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I'm just gonna give you.
- 22:17Speaker 1: She just gave you a little snippet of a masterclass in how people, how you do it.
- 22:23Speaker 1: So let me just grab a couple of comments that don't wanna miss, I know.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Huge shout out from the Dump and Ground was a whole nother podcast watching this podcast.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So hello the Dump and.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Ground.
- 22:34Speaker 1: She wants some.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I'll make sure y'all get the link.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I'll be selling this myself because I'm getting my own.
- 22:41Speaker 1: And then, thank you, william.
- 22:43Speaker 1: He says when I tell you this sauce is a staple that he has for.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And then he also came back and talked about pre-ordering the pineapple.
- 22:51Speaker 1: And then, hey, jen, hey, jen, stop that.
- 22:55Speaker 1: She needs to try the pepper sauce.
- 22:56Speaker 1: She's looking for one.
- 22:57Speaker 1: That, oh that.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Can you talk about the varying the temperature for those who are maybe like the milder versus the, you know, the Sleppy and Mama type?
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, so the Trini.
- 23:09Speaker 2: That's how grandma taught me that was hot.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie to you.
- 23:12Speaker 2: She's from over on Trinidad.
- 23:14Speaker 2: It is what it is.
- 23:15Speaker 2: So I've been you like to it?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Are you nuts?
- 23:17Speaker 2: I'm not the one.
- 23:19Speaker 2: The mango, though when you add in that fruit it takes that heatness down a little bit, kind of cuts through that pepper a little bit more, so that one's a little bit more of a medium heat.
- 23:28Speaker 2: We used to feel like it was kind of mild, and then our customers were like stop lying, it's not mild.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I was like, okay, okay, you're right, it's more medium hot.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And so the pineapple, that one we purposefully made the mildest, Okay.
- 23:44Speaker 1: So that one is the catalyst for those.
- 23:46Speaker 1: And then, when does that?
- 23:47Speaker 1: When does the pineapple come out?
- 23:48Speaker 2: again, so it's on pre-sale right now.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Those start shipping.
- 23:51Speaker 2: End of.
- 23:52Speaker 1: October.
- 23:52Speaker 1: End of October, y'all don't blow up my stop blowing up my phone.
- 23:56Speaker 1: End of October you can get your, but you can pre-order it now.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Like I said.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Well, make sure you have the link and then can you talk about, like, the different foods Is it for meats, fish, chicken?
- 24:08Speaker 1: Like how do we use the different sauces?
- 24:11Speaker 2: So this is, I think, the main question, and so on the back of I'm excuse me, can you look at my roll?
- 24:17Speaker 1: my yes, yes, Get the phone, get the phone.
- 24:23Speaker 2: So the company doesn't have our stuff.
- 24:26Speaker 2: You're excusing, oh man.
- 24:27Speaker 2: So here's our flagship, our trinity.
- 24:32Speaker 2: So we've tried to help people out by putting little like oh yeah, Just put it in the bag.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Perfect pair.
- 24:39Speaker 2: What's also funny about that.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I know your husband was military, mine as well, and so the way he wanted to do that was like land, sea and air for like, the different kinds of meat.
- 24:50Speaker 2: That's a little nod to the military.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, we are military, spouse owned.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yes, thank you very much.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Um so, but that's the number one question we get, and so, again, I think this is where you kind of have to educate your customer a little bit on, like we are a Caribbean product, but it's not just for Caribbean food, um, and so one of my favorite things to put it in is actually like pho and ramen with to spice that soup.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I love it.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I had a customer tell me they put it in their bone broth and loved it.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good idea.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yeah, um, but your standard stuff.
- 25:30Speaker 2: You can use it on pizza, tacos, you can put it.
- 25:34Speaker 2: We call it topping, you know any sort of dish traditionally.
- 25:37Speaker 2: But I think what's also really another factor that you can do with our sauce and not the other generic ones is you've got that.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Hi, I want the hot stuff.
- 25:49Speaker 1: My husband's training, oh my gosh.
- 25:55Speaker 2: So what, where was I?
- 25:57Speaker 2: Oh, I got distracted by lovely.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I know I just got thrown by.
- 26:00Speaker 2: What is happening?
- 26:02Speaker 1: again.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Please y'all stop blowing up my phone.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I'm going to give you the link shortly.
- 26:07Speaker 1: All of my what's, all my making people say, okay, okay, we got it.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Oh, but let's see other part.
- 26:13Speaker 2: With our pepper sauce it's much thicker because you have the fruits and the vegetables and the peppers, so it's really good for also marinating.
- 26:21Speaker 2: If you want to do me like fish or chicken, I love to saute with it.
- 26:26Speaker 2: My mother loves to saute with it.
- 26:28Speaker 2: She'll saute her vegetables.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Um, also grilling, using it in like kind of those brine mixtures for injectables.
- 26:35Speaker 2: And then the kicker is it's really good.
- 26:39Speaker 2: If you like spicy drinks, I have done a spiced hot chocolate, really good.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I have done a Bloody Mary, spicy margaritas, so it's across the board something that my goal is to be another staple in your kitchen, in your pantry.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I want you to pull it out when you want to make a drink.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I want you to pull it out when you want to grill, when you want to saute, when you want to, whatever, and it's really excellent across the board.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Well, um, I got one more question and again, you know I'm so I'm, I'm so excited that you're here and we've caught you before you became a billionaire and acted like you didn't know the rest of us.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I received it.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Stay before she blows up and like Shelly, who, mrs Pai, what?
- 27:28Speaker 1: No, I would never.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I want to know for.
- 27:35Speaker 1: So, for your, your company, and you know all of the things that you've done over these past few years what, what is?
- 27:43Speaker 1: What is maybe the one thing that's really motivating or encouraging and I'm asking this because there are a lot of folks who tend to watch these shows and they're seeing folks who are successful in their own right, who've been at it for a while.
- 27:59Speaker 1: So a lot of times, people see a different part of the journey and not understand that there is work involved.
- 28:06Speaker 1: So there's work involved in passion, and then also for our veterans, a lot of veterans who watch our program or folks who are trying to transition out of the military and start their own business.
- 28:18Speaker 1: So I'm just curious, if you have, you could share, like what?
- 28:21Speaker 1: What is it that motivates and encourages you?
- 28:28Speaker 2: Kind of like the way I'm thinking of it is like what keeps you going, yeah, hard.
- 28:34Speaker 2: What gets hard.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Yeah, right, um, I think it's, of course, the support you have around you.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I have a good partner and I have a great support system with my family.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Again being really close with my family, I think, whether that's family or friends or whoever, you wanna have people around you that are going to support you and you don't wanna have those friends that are like they don't see you going very far.
- 29:01Speaker 2: You know you wanna keep people around you.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I don't have those friends anymore.
- 29:05Speaker 2: What?
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 2: So I think it's support, but I think, personally, it's the vision of where I've always seen this going, and there's always there's absolutely talks that I've had with my partner where I'm like this is so much, and you know, we might be in a, because as a business, there's always an ebb and flow.
- 29:28Speaker 2: You're gonna make money, you're gonna lose money, you're gonna make money, you're gonna lose money.
- 29:31Speaker 2: And in those hard parts we're losing money and you're trying, and you're trying and you're trying and you're like God, if I just could get like more funding for better marketing, if I could just get more people to see what I'm doing, I swear I have something really good and I think those are when it gets really trying and that's.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Those down parts are where I've absolutely had conversations where I'm like God, maybe I should, maybe I should just stop.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Well, I'm like, maybe it's just not gonna happen for me, maybe I'm just not gonna make enough money to be able to keep sustaining this and I just can't do it.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I can't.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I believe so much.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I believe so much in what my product is and what I've created and what I'm giving to people, what the amount of passion and integrity that I put behind what I'm doing, I can't.
- 30:23Speaker 2: What keeps me going is my vision that I have always seen this.
- 30:29Speaker 2: My goal from the beginning was to have this on mainstream grocery store shelves, and I'm this close.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And.
- 30:37Speaker 2: I'm one of those people that's like I just can't quit and I will go about it smart and I will do everything to cover my bases.
- 30:46Speaker 2: But if I really believe in myself and what I'm doing, even when.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I don't believe in myself, because sometimes confidence kind of tanks right, but it's like I've done so much and I know, I know that what I'm doing is good, I can't let go and that's really kind of what drives me.
- 31:06Speaker 2: And I think you have to, speaking to other business owners, other entrepreneurs, I think you want to try to do the best that you can, try to be as smart as you can, try to cover all your bases, and I think you really need to have that passion and that belief behind what you're doing Because, like I said, I knew from the beginning if I didn't really care, I wasn't going to keep doing it.
- 31:27Speaker 2: And I really care, and when you really care and you really believe in the integrity behind what you're doing and you have that vision and you see it, you're not going to want to let it go.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Let that fuel you, Because the dips will eventually turn into the highs.
- 31:44Speaker 2: I think something.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I had this conversation with somebody who was like every time something good happens, something bad happens and I was like, well, if that's your logic, then when something bad happens, something good has to happen too.
- 31:59Speaker 1: That's right.
- 31:59Speaker 2: That's right Well it's really just hold on to why you started.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Wow, I love all of that.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I wanted to show you this comment that just came in from another Audrey, the best pepper sauce out there, loving the original, and mango, super excited for the pineapple to be released, sending love from Southern California.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I have to read it out, y'all, because we have folks that listen to our audio, so I want to make sure that they know what's happening on these.
- 32:29Speaker 1: This was such an amazing conversation.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Again, I'm so honored to know you.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I love the passion that you have for your business and the fact that you are out here doing it.
- 32:43Speaker 1: This thing I'm telling y'all, I'm just telling y'all before she blow up OK, just support black business women, please.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Ok, you know the odds against us are a little bit higher, and so I'm doing my own pitch because I will champion everybody who comes on this program, but it's because I truly believe and support what they're doing.
- 33:13Speaker 1: This is not affiliate.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I'm not getting any cut.
- 33:16Speaker 1: There's nothing like that.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I'm just telling you from my heart right.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I'm affiliated.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I'm not a juger, I am.
- 33:26Speaker 1: I'm not a juger.
- 33:27Speaker 1: There ain't no budget for no affiliate, nothing.
- 33:29Speaker 1: This is not influence or speak.
- 33:32Speaker 1: It's just me purely asking y'all for those of y'all who are watching live, the replay, the audio support the businesses and help our business women grow.
- 33:43Speaker 1: It actually helps our communities as well.
- 33:45Speaker 1: It keeps jobs, helps our families.
- 33:48Speaker 1: All those things, you know all those things so truly support we are wonderfully made.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I am so excited that you are here.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I'm not happy that we're finishing this conversation.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I think we need to have a whole West Indian panel.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I know.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I would love that.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I'm also surprised.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, are we wrapping up already?
- 34:08Speaker 2: I know what's going on.
- 34:09Speaker 2: We've got to get started.
- 34:11Speaker 1: You've got to come back.
