- 0:00[Music] Welcome to Multiple Nerd Gasm with your
- 0:04hosts Matt, Luke, and Dan. Multiple
- 0:09Nerdgasm, your guide to all things
- 0:20nerdy. Got some terrible news to start the week off, but I don't want to start
- 0:23with that. I don't want to start off with bad stuff. Let's start off with fun
- 0:26stuff. I don't know what fun stuff we have. It's my birthday by the time you
- 0:30hear this. Oh, that's true. How about that? Yes, that's true. Yeah. Well,
- 0:33happy birthday for you know the future when the future of now the past of when
- 0:38the listeners are listening for the witnesses. Yes. You'll be Luke's
- 0:42birthday. Yes. Wednesday. Yeah. I'm going to go to work and do
- 0:48nothing for it. Not as old as Dan and I. No, I'll be one year younger than both
- 0:52of you. Yeah. Well, you'll be two years younger than me for two months.
- 0:57No, you'll be one year young. H, [ __ ] it. I don't know about that. You You
- 1:01both You were both born in 80, correct? So, it should be easy for you to work
- 1:05out how old you are. For me, it's difficult. It used to be and now I'm old
- 1:10and I forget. I literally still I go, I have 43.
- 1:16Yeah, but all you got to go, it's not 43. No, you just got to 2025
- 1:22minus 80. Forget it. 45. Easy. Yeah, me got the one. Just look at what year is
- 1:28it? Like the what is the last digit of the year? In all theory, it should be
- 1:31really easy for me to figure it out from there cuz I know I'm in my 40s. So, just
- 1:34but [ __ ] it up. You also I think we're all at that age where we just stop
- 1:39counting and caring. Best not to think about it. Speaking of being in our 40s,
- 1:45um this is our our weekly segment called Old Men Talk about their fitness. So, oh
- 1:51yeah, cool. Been been going to the gym. You know, I don't go hard. I don't have
- 1:55a trainer. I just I just go in there and exercise, just to stay alive. And you
- 1:58know, you know, partly for our challenge, mostly just to try to stay
- 2:01alive as long as I'm joining that challenge soon. Yeah. Yeah. You dip your
- 2:05dip your toe in. The water's nice. Yeah. But I went I went this morning. I
- 2:11usually go during the week and when I go, it's pretty much senior citizens
- 2:16doing the aquaerobics class and one that's what I want people on the
- 2:19treadmill. It's it's very very relaxed when I go. Um, but I went today and it
- 2:25was just full of gym bros, right? Just proper bros [ __ ] grunting and
- 2:29dropping their weights on the floor, right? But I'll say this, there was one
- 2:34guy and I don't I didn't see anything that happened before. I just I saw one
- 2:37guy one bro walk up to another bro and go, "Oh, hey, thanks for that tip
- 2:42before. I I added like a good couple of kilos onto um onto the bar and yeah,
- 2:47with that new technique that you showed me, I was doing really good." And he's
- 2:50like, "Oh, yeah, good on you." And then he goes, "I tell you though, I just feel
- 2:54like I've really plateaued. I'm just not making any progress." And the other guy,
- 2:57this is just a total stranger, bro. In the gym, just turns and go, "Man, you're
- 3:01own worst enemy to me and to everyone else here, you look great, okay? So, if
- 3:06you're here every day and you're eating right, that's all you got to do. And you
- 3:09just got to trust the process." And I'm like, I by this point, I had turned my
- 3:13music down. And they made love right there on the bed. Yeah, that's what I
- 3:16mean. It was it was the most beautiful,
- 3:19sincere exchange of of masculine complimentary conversation that I'd ever
- 3:25I wouldn't even say they were bros. They're just guys that are there. Well,
- 3:29they look This guy was wearing what's that uh what's that like motorcycle
- 3:34brand that like um motorcycle brand that uh Yeah, I'm pretty sure it started as a
- 3:40mo motorcycle brand like No, no, no, no. It's not a gym brand. It's It's like a
- 3:46It's like a loud shirts. Guys with loud shirts like Ed Hardy or something. Ed
- 3:51Hardy. So this guy was wearing pink Ed Hardy shorts. Right. Right. And high
- 3:56tops. Like these are they are bros in in every way except for the just this
- 4:02that's that thing the joke about how men don't go to the gym to impress women.
- 4:06They go to the gym to impress other men. Because women once you have like what do
- 4:11they call the beach body which is kind of just you look you look you look good.
- 4:16Then women are like yeah that's good. Yep. Fine. Yeah. Yeah. They're not
- 4:20looking for huge jacked arms. No. I mean probably some are but Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:26Some are but mostly not. But I think the guys that go there are not trying to
- 4:30impress women. I mean again some some are. But uh but most of them probably
- 4:36just like, "Hey dudes, check out my [ __ ] biceps."
- 4:42And it makes Do they give you any tips? What was that? Did they give you any
- 4:46tips? Well, I want to know what this initial tip was, but I I wasn't there
- 4:51for that. Or my music was too loud. I had $3 bill on too loud and I I missed it.
- 4:58But are you doing like weights? So what I just cardio? No, I'm more
- 5:03cardio, but I do a split. So, I'll do I'll run on the treadmill for like 25
- 5:09minutes and then I'll go and do do like a 15minute resistance set just to kind
- 5:14of, you know, I figure if I'm going to lose weight, I want to look decent once
- 5:19I get down there. I don't want to just be a skinny run, but I'm not trying to
- 5:22I'm not I'm not following the, you know, the bodybuilder routine. I'm not I'm not
- 5:26trying to be TV star Henry Caval. I'm just going to do acor aerobics with the
- 5:31old ladies. Yeah, man. It looks it looks pretty fun. And those dudes, man, they
- 5:35they will [ __ ] they go back to the change rooms after, take off their
- 5:38[ __ ] togs, leave them on the floor, and they just stand there dick to dick
- 5:42having a good old chat. Once you get to that age, you do not
- 5:48care. You do not care. Yeah. Who gives you? Cuz no one's there to look at them.
- 5:54No. And they're not doing that for looks. I think they're just doing that.
- 5:58They're doing it from a social thing at that age. We do chat with either the old
- 6:02boys in the in the change rooms. Yeah.
- 6:06All right. Still going to be exciting to say the bad news. Oh, the bad news. All
- 6:11right. So, Carl Jos with his Billy Mitchell trial. He lost and now everyone
- 6:17has turned on. What? Yeah. I don't quite get it, but I
- 6:22I mean, he explained it today. I still don't get it. So, so what? He lost. And
- 6:27so his defenses that he using, all right, but what he lost on was the
- 6:31defamation was he was saying Billy Mitchell was saying that Cole accused
- 6:36him of being the cause of the death of Apollo Legend, another streamer who he
- 6:40sued and Cole just to be clear. Yeah. The Apollo um
- 6:47took his own life after the lawsuit with Billy Mitchell, but after a lot of
- 6:51things, a lot of other things. Well, but the way Yeah. Yeah. It was more
- 6:54complicated than the way Carl said it like he got sued, he owed all this
- 6:58money, he had other implications and then sort of led there was there was an
- 7:02implication that Yeah, there was implication that Billy was a factor but
- 7:06not a full-on like No, no, no. Billy says he accused me of murdering him and
- 7:11it's like no he didn't. No, he didn't. He said it was Yeah. a lot of things
- 7:15leading up and you put a retraction in and all this but everyone who's just
- 7:18turned on Carl going you told us it wasn't it was just about the cheating
- 7:22scandal and yeah I don't get that and so I was like no did you watch the trial it
- 7:27was very open that they were talking about Apollo and that no they didn't
- 7:31Luke no they they didn't watch it during the trial they did the actual trial
- 7:36transcripts that no Dan saying no they didn't watch it yeah I'm thinking they
- 7:41just read the headlines and were like oh he lost well he must be wrong. [ __ ] you.
- 7:45No, a lot of us accusing me of lying to go that he was only he was lying about
- 7:50the defamation case as it was. He said it was just about the cheating scandal.
- 7:53He did have a GoFundMe at one point and I think yeah, people were saying, "Oh,
- 7:57we thought we were helping you prove that he cheated." And it's like, "Oh,
- 8:02that's not what this was." And I mean, but it was part of his defense, though.
- 8:06It was part of his defense. That was Billy Mitchell's fault because he had to
- 8:09he had to argue everything in order to argue the thing that was in question.
- 8:13Yeah, like yeah, everyone just really has turned like really quickly and
- 8:19really mean like he lied to us and all saying, "Oh, you you should have done
- 8:24this, you should have done that." And I sort of like if you actually listen to
- 8:26him, his defense was right. Like you don't want to bring light to it because
- 8:30it's part of his defense was no one's talking about that. No one thinks that
- 8:36Billy Mitchell was the cause of death of Apollo and that Carl's the one spreading
- 8:39that rumor. No one's talking about that. Yeah. What they're talking about is him
- 8:42cheating. Yeah. So that's one of the points of contention is that that Carl
- 8:47did not frequently mention the fact that this was something that was a hot topic
- 8:53which was the fact Billy Mitchell was accusing Kyle Jobs of saying he murdered
- 8:57Apollo Legend. Basically that's what Yeah. and and he didn't talk about that
- 9:00so much. The judge ruled yes, he did say
- 9:03he murdered him or he did cause damage
- 9:07by by Billy Mitchell's reputation by
- 9:11implying I guess that he had a factor in his cause of death. I guess that's the
- 9:16only way you could word it without it sounding quite stupid. But I think they
- 9:18are he's looking at appealing it, but I think it'll come down to money cuz he's
- 9:21ordered to pay like $350,000. Yeah. But the thing that's quite weird
- 9:26is like you look at Billy Mitchell last year when he was
- 9:34supposed this person like and you're claiming the same thing and it goes oh
- 9:38with Carl that's all minimal impact of me. This is the big thing that's there
- 9:42and then in this case he switches it around. So it's which is the thing that
- 9:47caused you the harm when you're saying it's everything but it's only minimal
- 9:51for that. And so I I find it still quite strange that he did win. I guess it
- 9:56depends on what the judge learned about during it, you know, like cuz like in
- 10:01theory the judge is not on top of this like we are. No. Like and the judge will
- 10:06only be looking at what was presented to them. Yeah. But we're very biased.
- 10:13Exactly. Yeah. But they should be biased to the letter of the law. like and laws
- 10:19are, you know, there's there's precedents set by other court cases.
- 10:23There's, you know, what's in what's in statute. Like, you've they've got to
- 10:26just look at the facts and go, well, look, actually, technically, you saying
- 10:30this does apply in this case, for whatever reason, I think the what it
- 10:35boiled down to was did this judge, who doesn't know anything about Billy
- 10:38Mitchell or Carl or any of this stuff, did the judge feel that the judge is
- 10:41probably [ __ ] house at Donkey Kong? Yeah. Did the judge think Carl led
- 10:46people to believe Billy Mitchell caused Apollo Legend to take his own life? I
- 10:51guess that's probably what the judge sat down at the end of the day and said,
- 10:54"Did he?" And then maybe he felt that he did. But yeah, like I cuz he he played
- 10:59it today and what he said was like he did say he went through a line of events
- 11:03and I don't think it was I think he did imply that they contribute. I honestly I
- 11:08think even just the law itself contributed to it whether he had to pay
- 11:13money or not. Sure. Yeah. Also, one of the big things he's a
- 11:18depressed person. He's going through all of that trauma then yeah it's all going
- 11:21to stack up cuz also one of the things was the news coverage of the case got it
- 11:28all wrong. Mhm. They said it was a court case about cheating and it's it wasn't.
- 11:32It was about defamation. But what was
- 11:35what was Apollo's case against? Apollo accused him of cheating Donkey Kong.
- 11:42Yeah. Yes. Right. So Apollo accused Billy of cheating in
- 11:46Donkey Kong. Mhm. Which he [ __ ] did. Right. So Apollo was having sort of
- 11:53health issues and he couldn't afford to fight it. So he settled. And Billy
- 11:57Mitchell during that time was still trying to get money and he's going,
- 12:01"Dude, I have nothing." And so they the final sentiment was you just delete all
- 12:07your videos that you made about you cheating and we call it quits.
- 12:12I mean that sounds like a pretty good outcome for him but I don't know maybe
- 12:16there's more. Yeah, but I it was a stressful thing on top of all these
- 12:21other stressful things. And that's I think that's what Carl was saying but
- 12:25people he did it on top of everything else Billy Mitchell and then cuz one of
- 12:29the pieces of evidence was comments on other articles about Billy Mitchell
- 12:33where people would say oh this is that guy that drove Apollo Legend to kill
- 12:37himself but no one referred it back to Carl. No but I think that Billy
- 12:42Mitchell's lawyer and the judge may have thought oh well if that's where that
- 12:45comes from. And the thing is I don't want to presume because I don't know
- 12:49Billy personally. Um, but luckily some people he's still alive. Well, some
- 12:56people just going to get sued. When when some people find out somebody's said
- 13:02something bad about them, they go, "Oh, yes. Liel case." You know what I mean?
- 13:06Like they're not affected. They're not upset, but they they go, "Okay, it's
- 13:11time to sue." And he's very ligious. Clearly, he's suing everybody. That's
- 13:16what I mean. So maybe the only the only thing in his statement that Carl got
- 13:21wrong was at the time was that that um Apollo had to pay Billy Mitchell money.
- 13:27Right. That's right. Apart from that, every other statement he said was
- 13:31correct. It's just because that was an added thing where he owed money and
- 13:37yeah, someone he thought was reputable told him, "Yeah, there was a settlement
- 13:40amount." And then he later on found out
- 13:43that wasn't true and said in a video that was not true. I was wrong. But
- 13:49don't don't get don't get it wrong. Billy Mitchell was trying to get money.
- 13:52It's just didn't have any. So he settled for nothing. Yeah. Yeah. And and and
- 13:58don't get us wrong, Billy Mitchell is a cheater. 100%. Well, 100% a cheater.
- 14:03Yeah. And a douche. But are we going to get sued? Should we cut
- 14:09this? Well, all we have to do is say allegedly we're done. No, I think we've been We're
- 14:15just giving the details of the case. I'm not accusing Billy Mitchell of anything.
- 14:20I do not think, to be very clear, I do not think Billy Mitchell murdered
- 14:23anybody. No, Billy Mitchell is not a murderer. He's just a cheater. He's just
- 14:27a [ __ ] I don't think you can be sued for saying someone's a [ __ ]
- 14:30It's not against the law to be a [ __ ] Not yet. Well, we can say
- 14:33cheater because the judge did agree with the fact that yeah, he probably cheated
- 14:36on all of this. Mhm. We've got um we've got several other pieces of legal news
- 14:42followup, but they're follow to things that we normally talk about in the after
- 14:45party. So, maybe I'll just take the opportunity to to tease a little bit
- 14:49that there might be some controversial laws and
- 14:55uh they're all Luke's favorite topics. I love bringing them up in his presence.
- 15:01So, he was in the bushes last week watching us and he's just crept back in.
- 15:05David, leave me alone.
- 15:10I don't know what he's done. Well, I know what he's done. No, he Well, he
- 15:15hasn't done anything this this week. He's in the news because somebody else
- 15:19has said something. Okay. But that's that's for the after party.
- 15:25I um I played some games this week. If we want to talk video games, I'd love
- 15:30to. M so and first of all the spring sale is on on the Xbox and I noticed
- 15:37that Robocop Rogue City which we had been discussing was on sale for I think
- 15:40I got it for $12 or something and I was like okay okay so I bought that. Surely
- 15:46it's a $12 game. I think it at full price I think it's worth it cuz it's not
- 15:53I only played the first bit and I got to say I was underwhelmed. I will give it
- 15:59more of a chance at some point, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the start of
- 16:02it. I want more games like this that are
- 16:06not that AAA $100.
- 16:11This was just want a games. No, but this I actually really I enjoyed this game.
- 16:16It was a $60 game new in Australia. So $60 Australia, not the $60 full price American.
- 16:23And about eight eight hours to finish the game completely. and I enjoyed it
- 16:28and I think we need more of those mid-tier games. I love Robocop as a
- 16:34franchise and as a character. Um, so I do want to play this eventually and
- 16:38maybe I will just get it now $12. But Luke, I do have one question for you. Do
- 16:44you shoot people in the dick? Yes. Because if I play as Okay, check your
- 16:49achievement. You're getting I did in this game. I think it's the first
- 16:53achievement I got as well. first person you meet. Uh, I'm going to give you an
- 16:58assignment. Why you shooting in the dick? What I I literally was like,
- 17:02"Wait, wait. Why am I shooting him in the head? That's not how it used to
- 17:06works." Yeah. But even the story is actually feels Yeah. It's all right.
- 17:12It's just It's just kind of like a slowish shooter in a way cuz he's not,
- 17:16you know, Robocop's not a fast Yeah. mover or anything like that. And I was
- 17:20just like, "Okay, like it's fine. I'm not any particular issues with it." I
- 17:23just they this these are the people who do they do Robocop. They've just started
- 17:28doing Robocop. They were the ones that were doing the Terminator games as well.
- 17:31Yeah. Right. Which again were those like double A type games.
- 17:37I want to know if Assassin's Creed Shadows is any cheaper. No. During the
- 17:42It is not. It is Star Wars Outlaw and I considered that. I'm not going to play
- 17:47that. I don't like Star Wars. But I played So, okay. So, I played some
- 17:50rubber cop. It was all right. I'll probably play some more at some point.
- 17:52But then for some reason I was like, "Oh, you know what? I bought and
- 17:55installed cuz I was curious about it is Death Stranding because I really wanted
- 18:01So you remembered where your PS5 was?" No, no, it's on the Xbox. No, it's on
- 18:04Xbox on Xbox. Oh, is it? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, [ __ ] Okay, guys. On Xbox a couple of
- 18:09months ago. I am [ __ ] obsessed with this game now. Really? I have one
- 18:13question for you. Do you know what the hell is going on? [ __ ] the baby in the
- 18:17dick. Oh, no. I No, I don't. But to the guys, you look, you've played it, right?
- 18:23Yes. Yep. I was like, maybe it'll make some sense of what bucks. I'll have it
- 18:29for that. Yeah. It came out quite cheap. Even at full price, it was So I was
- 18:34like, oh, maybe this will make some sense of the weird stuff I saw in the
- 18:36trailers and stuff. No, no, it makes it worse because
- 18:41like that opening sequence, right, where uh you know, you see you meet Sam, the
- 18:47main character, and you're riding the bike and then he crashes cuz that
- 18:49woman's there and then she's not there. It's just very Japanese in the way that
- 18:53it's just like stuff happens and they like I'm not going to explain that. You
- 18:57you'll be fine. And then there's these like things leaving handprints in the
- 19:01[ __ ] mud. They're invisible and and I'm like, what is happening? And the
- 19:04rain, they call it timefall. The rain ages everything, including you. So, you
- 19:09can't get rain on you and uh and otherwise it damages the packages you're
- 19:14delivering because at the core of it, right, all this crazy storyline [ __ ]
- 19:18you're delivering [ __ ] packages. You're you're a delivery man. You're a
- 19:22delivery man. So, anyway, there's that sequence where you get to the first town
- 19:26and then you deliver a package and I was like, "Okay, I guess this is the game."
- 19:30And then those guys with the corp, the dead body come up in the truck and
- 19:34everything just goes [ __ ] insane where they're like, "Oh, he's going to
- 19:38this body's going to necroize. We've got to get to the incinerator or this whole
- 19:41city's going to become a crater." I was like, "The [ __ ] you talking about giving
- 19:46me spoilers except none of this makes sense. It doesn't matter, mate. It
- 19:49doesn't matter." And then they one of them has the little baby in the thing.
- 19:52And and I was like, "Oh, they're going to explain what the baby is." Oh, the
- 19:54baby's a bridge baby. It detects BTS. Like I'm like, "What's happening? What
- 19:59is happening? And then it's like the baby can find big tits.
- 20:04If anyone can, a baby can. And then the [ __ ] truck crashes. And then the
- 20:08there's a guy floats down. He's stand on the truck at one point. Where the [ __ ]
- 20:11is that guy? And then the guy from Bridges is like, "No." Tries to shoot
- 20:14himself in the head and then everything starts floating up into the air and it's
- 20:17a giant silhouette and I was like, "What the fuck?" And then there's I just It's
- 20:23[ __ ] insane. Dan, have you got up to the part where you need to fight things?
- 20:27I got to escape things. I haven't got to fight them yet. Yeah, you get to fight
- 20:30them at some things and everything's black and there's like a whale thing
- 20:33that jumps out of the black and you got to sort of throw grenades at it and
- 20:36stuff. It's that [ __ ] title sequence where you after that crazy [ __ ] happens
- 20:41and he's just standing there on the beach and all the [ __ ] dead whales
- 20:46and sea animals are on the beach and then he's standing there and up in the
- 20:49sky just the silhouettes of the [ __ ] people floating in the air and I and
- 20:53it's like Death Stranding and the music and I was just like this is incredible.
- 20:58Also, you don't know what's happening but it's incredible. Wait until you die
- 21:04and see what happens. Oh, and then you go back to that area and there is just a
- 21:08crater where you died. So [ __ ] weird, man. And it's sort of weird. You're not
- 21:14in the same world as other people, but you are. Yeah. You can find packages.
- 21:18And Dan, literally the actual game play is you run across the countryside with
- 21:22stuff on your back and then sometimes it go leans this way and you have to hit
- 21:26the trigger to lean back the other way and you're just running around like
- 21:29that. That's the [ __ ] game. But you do cut,
- 21:35right? It's strangely compelling. And then like I said, the pl Oh, the [ __ ]
- 21:39bit with the president. They go, "Oh, the president wants to
- 21:42meet you." Yeah. President wants to meet you. Oh, we don't have a president.
- 21:45America's dead. No, we do have a president. She wants to meet you. She
- 21:48Yes, it's the first woman president. Okay, by the way, it's your mom. And
- 21:52he's like, "What?" And then this sounds like a dream. It was like It's lit.
- 21:57That's what it feels like. And then you get in there, you meet the president's
- 21:59aid is this man with a [ __ ] metal skull mask on and his name is Die
- 22:04Hardman. What is happening?
- 22:09It's so great. I'm going to have to go back and play it cuz the sequel comes
- 22:13out soon. If Luke wasn't sitting there nodding along because he knows what
- 22:17you're talking about [ __ ] I'd ask you what you were [ __ ] on. Matt, you you
- 22:22can't explain this game. But it's like it's like this for 27 years, but it's
- 22:28like got that little thing where it's like kind of like David Lynch where it's
- 22:30like I don't know what's happening, but I'm like I can't stop. Like the one
- 22:34thing I've I I did which I have to stop doing. I have to stop trying to deliver
- 22:39every package. Yeah, I've been doing that, too. That's the problem. I've seen
- 22:42one package. No, I have to I have to get this to someone. No, I need to let stuff
- 22:46go. But no, you should play it and see what you think cuz But yeah, it's it's just
- 22:52so unique. I'm I don't I can't believe it. Like honestly the like I said play
- 22:57through that opening sequence and I was like oh [ __ ] I'm hooked. Like this is
- 23:02really interesting. Yeah. You know on the edge of on the edge of
- 23:08understanding sort of thing where you're like okay del is in it. It's a [ __ ]
- 23:13character. His name's dead man cuz he used to be a a mortician a coroner. And
- 23:19not just a side character. He's You don't open with Die Hardman if you want
- 23:24to be mean to be impressed with any other name. All right. Die Hardman. I
- 23:29was literally cackling like what is happening? Give me uh give me American
- 23:33name. Huh? Yeah. Die Hard. Cuz it's not even that sounds American. They get to
- 23:39the [ __ ] room of the president. He's like there. Go say hello. Oh, by the
- 23:41way, it's your mom. And he's like, "What?" Actually, there is no rush for me to
- 23:47finish it cuz it's a PlayStation 5 exclusive to start with the sequel. Oh,
- 23:52two. Yeah, there you go. That's fine. They'll release it unlike Final Fantasy.
- 23:58Well, I'm playing something Japanese this week as well.
- 24:03Uh I I mentioned last week that I was going to go back and play all the
- 24:07Resident Evils in order starting at the first one, and I [ __ ] am. And
- 24:12Resident Evil 1, otherwise just known as
- 24:14Resident Evil or [ __ ] Resident Evil.
- 24:20It is so good. It is so good. Now, I will admit part of this is nostalgia
- 24:25because the first and only other time I played this game, it was me and my
- 24:30girlfriend at the time and her brother on PS1 it must have been just every
- 24:36night for a week just all sitting around and it didn't matter who had the
- 24:40controller. We were all playing, you know what I mean? And just it's so slow
- 24:43and so methodical and it's just like what do we do with this [ __ ] weird
- 24:47thing we just found? If that game was to release today, I don't think it would do
- 24:52well because I love cuz no one has a PS1.
- 24:58Yeah. No, but even the remaster that was well
- 25:03like the it's not a full it's a they made it prettier or something, didn't
- 25:07they? It was a game I think originally it was. It's the GameCube. Uh
- 25:12like if that was to release today that would be I think it was a bit too tank
- 25:18like the camera soft back and forth. I'll say this though, the camera
- 25:24changing. It's [ __ ] awesome. If you remember what it was like
- 25:30watching horror movies in the late 90s, early 2000s, it's those camera moves.
- 25:35[ __ ] down low with a [ __ ] dead [ __ ] body in the forehead. But I used
- 25:39to remember, but it confuses the [ __ ] out of you when you're walking
- 25:45one direction and the camera switches 180. And so you have to press forward,
- 25:51but your character is walking backwards. And cuz there's so many times where
- 25:56you'd start walking and then you'd, oh, I got to move another direction. And
- 25:59then you'd walk back off to the other screen and back then the load time
- 26:02sucked. Yeah. Because if you're still holding, the direction remains the same.
- 26:06But as soon as you stop, the controls reset to whatever. So I've got a system.
- 26:11Every time the camera cuts, I take thumb off. I put it back on just instinctively
- 26:16just off and back on. And then it's just the direction it looks like it is. Yeah.
- 26:21Um, makes sense. But there's there's too much having there's too much trading the
- 26:26same ground. But the fact that this is all in one building is [ __ ]
- 26:32incredible. Like and and I remember the second one too is almost all in one
- 26:36building and then they branch off at the end. And I remember being disappointed
- 26:40once you're out of the police station in the second one because it loses that
- 26:44claustrophobia and they start bringing that back in but not to like number
- 26:47seven when you're in that [ __ ] Hicks house. But man, this game but it's a very very
- 26:53different game. It's closer to this than it is to like
- 26:58four, five, and six though, which are completely different.
- 27:02Yes. You went to South Africa. Oh, Haiti. One of them was in Haiti.
- 27:08Even four was different. Yes. Fall was great, though. I think
- 27:14four was the last good one before. Look at the remake of four. I got to play
- 27:17that. I've got them all. Yeah, I've got them all lined up on the Switch. I'm
- 27:19playing this on the Switch, by the way. Um, haven't my Switch been essentially
- 27:24in a drawer for quite some time and I just remember how much I enjoy playing.
- 27:28So, you're just getting used to this Switch before you get your new Switch.
- 27:31I'll be able to pre-order in a few days apparently let you knowing one. Yeah, I
- 27:36think uh April 24th, right? Switch to pre-order. But doesn't have to be a
- 27:41Switch built entirely in the United States like built entirely in the United
- 27:45States. Doesn't that work? Don't want one that's built here, mate.
- 27:49We don't know how to do it. first ones. Yeah, we don't know how to do that. Um,
- 27:53yeah, 24th of April pre-orders. So, price will remain the same. Yeah, I'm
- 27:59not going to pre-order one, but I You don't need to. I didn't need to for the
- 28:03last Switch either. I just I remember the last one I went sold out at first
- 28:07for a while. Oh, here it was. I walked in the day it released and went, "If
- 28:11they have one, I'll buy one. If they don't, I don't care. Look, I can't
- 28:15afford one, so it's not going to be a problem. I'm just not going to be able
- 28:18to buy one yet. I'm not getting one cuz I don't want to do the same thing I've
- 28:22done with this switch and use it twice.
- 28:27Yeah, no achievements. No, Charles, you've opened it.
- 28:34Ruins everything. Well, speaking of uh speaking of games,
- 28:39we might as well stay on topic. I suppose things ruined. Dune Awakening
- 28:44has been delayed, which is probably a good thing because it means they'll make
- 28:46it better. Um, this is the PC release. It's uh, it was May. Now it's June,
- 28:52right? It's not Yeah, it's not too bad. It's not a huge delay. Yeah, just a
- 28:55little bit of polish. This is because they had a beta and they got some
- 28:58feedback from people and they said, "All right, we'll fix it." Um, I don't know
- 29:02when the Xbox version's coming out, though. But um I I don't know whether it
- 29:07was this news in particular that made me think of this but it's it's Funcom who make Conan
- 29:13Exiles and I was reading about it and I was like you know what I do like Conan Exiles.
- 29:20And then I looked on YouTube at some videos of other people playing Conan
- 29:22Exiles and I was like you know what we used to do? We used to play Conan
- 29:25Exiles. We did. So uh I don't know and I'm I'm interested in doing that again.
- 29:32I it's not going to take much to convince me, man. I [ __ ] love Conan Exiles.
- 29:38Even though it's it's it's I I couldn't in good conscious call it a good game,
- 29:43but for some reason, sure, I really enjoy it. And I was playing it in beta
- 29:48and then I was playing when they [ __ ]
- 29:51changed everything about it and then it's Yeah. And you don't even get to
- 29:57play with your dick out. [ __ ] you. I don't.
- 30:03I do. I met your character. Oh, right. Yeah. I know.
- 30:08So, yeah. Anyway, I'm I'm been thinking about that. But then Luke, you floated
- 30:11the idea of Minecraft instead, which is also a pretty good idea. The reason why
- 30:15I went with Minecraft is I just remember the last time we had that server and it just
- 30:21reset. Yeah, that's true. And reset fix that. I might be able to set up a
- 30:27Minecraft server. M I might be able to set one up on my server downstairs. I
- 30:32don't know how intensive a Minecraft server because I'm pretty sure it's all
- 30:34crossplay now. So yeah. Yeah, that could be easier and cheaper
- 30:41for the two weeks we're going to play for. Yeah, but can you have slaves in
- 30:46Minecraft? Yes, you just get some villagers and you box them in. Okay, but
- 30:53are they people of color? Because they are in Conan. Well, coincidence. Some
- 30:58people are, some people aren't. You can enslave anybody.
- 31:01Yeah. But I mean, we don't, but we can. But yeah, you they they could have
- 31:06enslaved anyone in the south, too. They didn't. It's true. Well, they did. They
- 31:10enslaved a bunch of Scottish and uh Irish people. True, but they kept
- 31:14escaping and then blending in. Yeah. I know. It's a fact that I was like
- 31:20that's awful that like that's such a factor. Yeah. Just if they look different, it's
- 31:26convenient because you can find It makes an awful type of sense, though, doesn't
- 31:29it? Yeah, that's what I mean. It's just like, oh, okay. Yeah. Yuck.
- 31:35Yeah. Well, should we should we end on the other exciting news that's in here?
- 31:40Okay, go ahead. Keyboard. News me.
- 31:44Um, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is getting closer.
- 31:49It exists. So, that's news. And also, remember where apparently if you message
- 31:56Microsoft support they didn't get the memo that this was not news yet and
- 32:00they'll just tell you with a release date. Oh, have they said a release date? I
- 32:05think uh yeah, there was an article that said um people were emailing Xbox
- 32:10support and just saying, "Oh, wanted to know when the Oblivion remaster is
- 32:13coming out." And they were just like, "Oh, yeah, it's a what is it?" Let me
- 32:16look. Amazing. Because they're doing this and they're also, from what I've
- 32:21heard, doing the Fallout 3 one as well. April 21st, Xbox support accidentally reveals
- 32:27Oblivion rem.
- 32:34Yeah. Was it? So Oblivion. No, wait. So Oblivion came out 2006 and then Skyrim
- 32:38came out 2010. That sounds very close.
- 32:44This is an article about Is Oblivion something we can go back to or is it
- 32:49Well, have you seen the screenshots of this? It looks It looks incredible. I
- 32:52think maybe. Yeah. 2006. I'm concerned that I'm going to be playing it going,
- 32:57"Oh, this is not Skyrim." Yeah, it's not Skyrim. Yeah, but that's fine. I play a
- 33:04lot of games that aren't Skyrim, and my brain doesn't constantly remind me of
- 33:07that fact. If I remember, in in Oblivion, you need to sleep to level up.
- 33:13Yes. And I think Hang on. Morowind definitely. Yeah, maybe Oblivion. And I
- 33:19think the monsters don't level up with you. No, Oblivion
- 33:26was the first game that they do. Morowind, they don't. Yeah, you could go
- 33:30to a dungeon and be like overwhelmed by level 50 monsters and stuff. Oh, but
- 33:35isn't it a thing like if you go No, I thought it was the other way around
- 33:38where if you go into I did that. If you go into like a cave now in they'll be
- 33:43level one and then if you come back or they might be too strong for you, but
- 33:46when you come back 10 levels later, they're still that same level. So, you feel stronger.
- 33:52Well, I think that in in well, Morowind was just the monsters were placed and
- 33:57they were the level that they were when they were placed. Whereas Oblivion and
- 34:00Skyrim and games now, it scales them. I think right I think was there was one I
- 34:07think I don't know if it's this one Fallout where if you went to into a
- 34:10dungeon and you went, "No, this is too strong for me. Stay the same as it was.
- 34:13It would stay the same as it was the next time you went in." So you would
- 34:17come back and feel a lot stronger. I think that's why I go back to my primary
- 34:21school and and bash the senior kids there because they used to bash me. I
- 34:25mean, not these exact ones, but that's that's scaling, right? Yes. Yep.
- 34:31So, I put another article in there. This is just people with screenshots of them
- 34:35going onto support and just saying, "Hi, when is the Elder Scrolls Oblivion
- 34:39remaster being released?" And they said, "The Elder Scrolls for Oblivion remaster
- 34:42is set to release on April 21st, 2025." And people are like, "Oh, fuck." All
- 34:46right. Is there an announcement or anything planned for? Well, there
- 34:51wasn't. I don't think like No, but is there like a showcase or anything
- 34:55planned or just Oh, so what? No, I think they were going to shadow just release
- 34:58it. That's the theory because what hap what happened is that the I guess the
- 35:02company that did it put up on their
- 35:06portfolio um images. I guess they they somebody just didn't think about it and
- 35:11just put up oh this is stuff we worked on Elder Scrolls Oblivion and somebody
- 35:15noticed it and was like Elder Scrolls Oblivion remaster and then so that
- 35:19became news and then and then people were like I'll ask about it and then
- 35:23emailed I don't know if this is a support bot or what this is but they
- 35:26said when's it coming out and it just told them April 21st. So yeah. Okay. It
- 35:32kind of sucks. I wish I'd have came out yesterday. Oh, cuz we've got a long weekend. Oh,
- 35:39right. And then a short week and another a short week and another long weekend.
- 35:43Oh, well, what's Oh, we got Easter this weekend and Anzac. Yeah, Anzac Day. But
- 35:50I'm just the Dawn service. Are you? No, I'm going to be playing Grand Theft Auto
- 35:545. Oh, okay. I'll be in Perth. Um Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I've never been to
- 36:00Perth, but we're we're meeting friends from Singapore because Perth is the same
- 36:04distance from Singapore as it is from Sydney. Yeah. Um two weeks in Perth with Paul
- 36:11Cunningham. Yeah. Paul, you if you're listening, and I know you're not, you
- 36:15are welcome. You're welcome. Had a [ __ ] great time. Yeah. And didn't he
- 36:21get hit on by a cab? He did. Well, um No, I know. I I teased him, but
- 36:28the guy just wanted to hang out. I think talk about Star Trek, but realized he
- 36:31loves Star Trek, too. Yeah, there's there's only one guy in Perth that likes
- 36:34Star Trek. I'm thinking of tracking that guy down. Well, just get a cab. They
- 36:39don't exist anymore. The one the one taxi. Yeah.
- 36:44All right. Perfect. Where should Let's see. Oh, you know what we've got,
- 36:51which we haven't had in a long time because we don't care about this
- 36:53anymore, is we've got some Star Wars news. There's quite a bit of Star Wars
- 36:56news. I haven't looked into this Star Wars news. I've been seeing stuff
- 37:00popping up. I haven't looked at it. Yeah, I guess there must be some Disney
- 37:04event on it cuz there's a bunch of news. Soul celebrations.
- 37:09Is that on right now? How did I not know that? Cuz I don't care about Star Wars
- 37:12anymore. It's got It's gotten to the point. Well, I didn't even know that was
- 37:15happening right now. I know. I also don't know why they don't have Star Wars
- 37:18celebrations around May the 4th. Yeah. Like that just would make sense. I mean,
- 37:24it is around May the 4th. It's around it, but it's easy. You're marketing right there.
- 37:30So, the one thing that caught my eye just quickly, cuz there's no information
- 37:34about this, so I'll just get it out there quickly, is I saw Star Wars Star
- 37:38Fighter was announced. It's a movie set
- 37:42after Rise of Skywalker about presumably
- 37:45a pilot and it stars Ryan Gosling.
- 37:50So, could have Maybe it's what Luke wants, but probably it's not.
- 37:55I want a television show that's basically Battle Star Galactica and Star
- 38:00Wars or Space Above and Beyond. You want X-Wing versus TIE Fighter the show? Yes.
- 38:06Yes. I've actually been thinking I wouldn't mind this. Remember Space Above
- 38:10Beyond? Yeah. I want I want more of that because that was also just a fight but
- 38:14they also did ground missions which is what ro
- 38:21after you watch top secret. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. And then give you know Babylon 5
- 38:25another watch. Yeah. I'm in the middle of watching Babylon 5 again at the
- 38:29moment. Of course you are. You're always in the middle of watching Bab 5 again.
- 38:34Oh, it takes a long time. Yeah. I've thought about watching something else
- 38:39that you like, Luke. I've I'm very close and I've bookmarked it here. I'm very
- 38:43close to watching Rootech again. So, I've not seen that since I was a kid.
- 38:48And uh I've just been watching I've been watching the original Voltron. Mhm.
- 38:55Um, uh, and I've been flicking between the the American re-edit and
- 39:00the [ __ ] mega golion, whatever it's
- 39:04called in Japan, which is, you know, they've the Americans are just making up
- 39:09their own scripts for him, going, "Okay, these two guys are brothers." And then
- 39:12the American one is like, "That's the same guy." You know, imagine they did
- 39:17that for Death Stranding. I would love to see what the [ __ ] what they come
- 39:20up with. Yeah. But the robot's good. Throw attack was the first cut scene I
- 39:24watched that had death in it and characters evolved and grew.
- 39:29You start off thinking li m's the character you want to be with, but it's
- 39:32actually Lisa Hayes. Which is the one that kisses him above the birthday cake
- 39:37and then tucks him in in bed? Kisses above the birthday. Is that a euphemism?
- 39:40What? Right above. Kiss me above my birthday cake. I swear, Luke, the the
- 39:45the one thing that I remember about Rootech from a kid is that it's his
- 39:51birthday and she makes him a cake and then they kiss. And I think it was the
- 39:54first time I ever saw a kiss or at least in a kid show. God, it's been so long
- 39:59since I've watched it cuz it could be either of them. You were like, "Oh,
- 40:02what's he doing to her?" Maybe I need to watch that again. No,
- 40:09don't eat her. Eat the cake. And the music in it is so great. I
- 40:14listen to the soundtrack every now and again. Oh, sick. Music in [ __ ]
- 40:18Voltron is [ __ ] incredible. It's It's just the It's the most 80s music you
- 40:23could imagine. Just the cheapest synth that you possibly music. Yeah. One thing
- 40:29I like about playing we play Switch games, LRA and I, and any any game,
- 40:33right, if it's got like a little catchy tune, she starts bopping. She goes, "Oh,
- 40:36I like this music." So funny. just any music in a game. If
- 40:40if she's like, "Oh, yeah." We were
- 40:47playing What's the [ __ ] Mario game where you the first level if you got to
- 40:51find somebody's lost pants? What? That's what we've been playing.
- 40:56Mario RPG or something. Have you found the pants yet? Paper Mario. I don't
- 41:00know. We did find the pants. Yeah, we did. I checked a game called Elbow,
- 41:04which actually is quite good if you're looking for a game to play with Harper. Elbow.
- 41:08Alba. Alba. I think actually it's like a little you play like a little girl on an
- 41:14island and you got to go around and take photos of wildlife and uh the mayor is
- 41:20trying to build a luxury hotel and you want to get a petition signed to stop
- 41:24him. So you just go around and do stuff. It's just cute little game. It's very um
- 41:29kid-friendly. Did you ever play Harper has been playing this game on on my Switch this
- 41:35week called Thomas Was Alone. Did you ever play this? Oh yeah. I years ago.
- 41:39Yeah, it's not a kids game. But it's it's not a kids game, right? But for
- 41:44those who don't know, it's about a sentient pixel in a pixel world who has
- 41:50to work out. He he's not aware that he's in a game or even know what a game is.
- 41:54But because he discovers what a game is as you go along and explains it to you
- 42:00like you've also never heard what a game is. It's great for people just learning
- 42:03games like kids because he says things
- 42:07like um okay I fell down if only there was some kind of reverse falling where I
- 42:13could fall but up and onto the platform and like he's like maybe I'll make that
- 42:19the Y button you know and that's kind of like a intuitive way of explaining to
- 42:25someone who doesn't just intuitively the game is by one of the people from Alana
- 42:29Pierce's podcast whose name I've forgotten something or other. Oh,
- 42:35well, it does remind an article I read recently about like we sort of take for
- 42:39granted like games now, like how easy it is like stuff. I was there the guy wrote
- 42:45an article about like he's starting to play games with his girlfriend and she's
- 42:49not played games and she's like playing a racing game and didn't even think to
- 42:52look at like the map to see where the course was. So, she's like, I have no
- 42:55idea where I'm going. And just little things like that that just you just you
- 43:00just know. doesn't game. And when I she wanted to have a go with something once
- 43:04and then she was like, "What are the controls?" I'm like, "Same as every
- 43:07other game." She's like, "Yeah, what?" I'm like, "Oh, okay. This one controls
- 43:11the direction you face. This one controls the camera." She's like, "What?
- 43:13I've got to move the camera as well." I'm like, "No, you just move it as you
- 43:17go." Like, don't you? Yeah. It's intuitive at this point. Yeah. I was a
- 43:23really good video I say once about how old games would introduce gameplay
- 43:27mechanics. Like Mega Man's a good example apparently where you know you
- 43:32see something happen before you kind of get to it. So you go, "Oh, I'm going to
- 43:36have to jump over that guy shooting bullets, but he's on the when you first
- 43:40see him, he's doing it, but he's on the other side of a wall or something." So
- 43:43you go, "Oh, okay." You know, it like eases you into all these gameplay and
- 43:48then it gets [ __ ] hard later. Yeah. Yeah. Good games ease you into it. back
- 43:53in the day. They didn't always like never thought about it when I was a kid.
- 43:58Played the games, but it doesn't. They basically were designed to teach you how
- 44:02to do it without obviously teaching you. But the first movies that came out,
- 44:07there used to be have to be a guy standing in the [ __ ] auditorium
- 44:11going, "That's not a different guy. That's the same guy from further back,
- 44:16right?" Like, yeah, this is not a different building. They're climbing out
- 44:19the window that you just saw them get onto the window sill in the last shot
- 44:23cuz people would be like, "What's going on?" This is completely different now.
- 44:27Yeah. Like confused. Now you've cut to somebody outside. Yes. They're outside
- 44:31the same building. Time has passed.
- 44:36Give me a book. I've started reading a book this week.
- 44:41You might like it actually, but I don't know. But this is the second time I've
- 44:45tried because when I heard that China Mavville, who I love, has teamed up with
- 44:51Kiana Reeves, who I love to write a book, I was like, I'm getting it day
- 44:56one. Mhm. And I got it, pre-order, pre-ordered a book. I don't think I've
- 45:01ever done that before. Right. Came out, read the first chapter. I was like,
- 45:06what? I don't think I'm into this. Yeah, it's confusing and a bit vague and I
- 45:11don't know that I like the pros. And then twice I've started to try to
- 45:15read that first chapter again and I'm like maybe I just don't like this. And
- 45:20then for some reason today I'm like I just need something that's not Gene Wolf
- 45:24because I've finished all five of the books of the new son. Then I read two of
- 45:29his standalones and then I started the books of the long sun which is the next
- 45:34fivepart series. God, [ __ ] me. So good. Um and I just wanted to read something
- 45:40that wasn't that. And so I was like, I'll I'll pick this up. And I'm So this is your June.
- 45:46Yes. But it's just clicked. It's just clicked this time. Uh I'm like, okay, I
- 45:52think I know. I think I think I get it. Cuz actually I find, you know, a movie
- 45:57sometimes you can just put on a movie and watch it, know nothing about it, and
- 46:00the movie will tell you what it's about. Not all books do that. You know what I
- 46:04mean? Like some books you can get halfway through going, I still don't
- 46:06know what kind Yeah. I like to know what kind of book I'm
- 46:11reading. It helps me read it. Sure. You know where it's going, basically. Yeah. Yeah.
- 46:18Should we cut back around to some of the Star Wars news we're also still hinting
- 46:22at? Oh, yeah. Probably. Yeah, probably. Um, so there's a new Star Wars Lego set
- 46:27coming out, which I'm looking at and I don't know. Yeah, cuz I was going to ask
- 46:34you specifically, Luke, because I like Lego. I've actually bought some Lego
- 46:37this very week. So, like I'm not one to to, you know, to criticize new Lego
- 46:43sets, especially not Star Wars stuff, but I don't want this. And I wanted to
- 46:47know if you wanted this. I I'm I'm trying to work this out. It's it's it's
- 46:52a it's tough. Um cuz sometimes I see things and I go, I want that. I don't
- 46:57want it enough to buy it, but my brain wants it. I want this. The price needs
- 47:02to be a lot better. You need to explain what it is. You haven't even said. Yeah.
- 47:08So, it's just the Star Wars logo. Bright yellow. It's Star Wars. It does look like it's
- 47:15got a little compartment, but I don't know why it's It's got something going
- 47:19on in the negative space, but I hidden surprise. Oh, okay. Look out for fun inside the T.
- 47:26Oh, I know what it is. I know what it is. What is it? It's the It's the um
- 47:31tentive four being chased by the star. Okay, we've just ruined the surprise.
- 47:37But that's what I know of it on the on the Lego website. It's not my fault.
- 47:41Probably know what it is if you go and look at the box when this is Yeah. I
- 47:45don't know. It just seems Do you have Star Wars Lego? Although it's a lot of
- 47:50pieces though. Yeah, cuz you got to make [ __ ] curves on the S and [ __ ] like
- 47:55it's it's a I don't know. I don't know. 700 pieces. More like a jigsaw puzzle
- 48:00than a Lego set. But 700 pieces for $110
- 48:03is not bad. That's a Yeah, but because
- 48:08this has zero points of articulation, right? You can't open this up and play
- 48:13it. It's just a logo. Well, how much Lego are you playing with at the moment?
- 48:20Uh, more than you might think. I rebuilt the um the Elsa ice castle during the
- 48:25week cuz it had kind of semi come apart. But are you playing with that or Well,
- 48:31no, but it was fun to build it. He plays with Elsa. But
- 48:36look, if this was half the price, I'd probably get it. Actually, cuz I do want
- 48:40some more Lego. It's been ages since I've got some Lego.
- 48:46I've got some Lego down here that I got for uh Christmas that I need to play
- 48:50with. It's the um and center McLaren Formula 1 car. That'll be fun.
- 48:56Got to do that. Yeah. Does the the little mini fig of center in there as
- 49:01well? Yeah. with a head.
- 49:05It's not a Williams. That was a That was a joke in Portage. Oh, yes. Oh, look at
- 49:10that. That would be a fun build. Uh, I'll stop you there. Isn't that supposed
- 49:14to have a Malro logo on it?
- 49:18If it was accurate to the period. Yeah. But look, there's one more bit of Star
- 49:23Wars news that I'm actually kind of excited about. if this is actually happening.
- 49:29It's happening in one place only. Oh
- 49:34yeah. So yeah. No, there's a there's a
- 49:38museum in England who has a print of 77
- 49:42Star Wars unaltered. Not even with the episode 4 on it evidently. Oh wow.
- 49:49Original unaltered. Cuz that didn't come to 78.
- 49:53Yeah. hated and banned by George Lucas.
- 49:59Is it really hated and banned or he just goes it seems to be he's made himself
- 50:04very clear. Well, he he does I don't think
- 50:07it's B. It's just I want you to look at the final stuff I've done. can't stop
- 50:13tinkering with it and need but but they should be this is a new hope final final
- 50:18use this file finally capitals
- 50:21exclamation mark v10 like this is he keeps doing this I mean he doesn't
- 50:27anymore he doesn't have the rights to not allowed to anymore but well I think
- 50:31he's still he still tried to get people ears I think
- 50:36yeah I mean but I get him back in this so are they just is this something
- 50:40that's going to be screening in the museum all the time for actually special screening
- 50:46should have I can't remember it's the opening of a film festival the British
- 50:50film institutees film on film festival happening in June and it will open film
- 50:55of the film on film action yeah watch
- 50:59one film [ __ ] another film what is Star Wars going to [ __ ] George
- 51:06Lucas yeah Matt you should go uh I'd love to cuz it's easier for you
- 51:12to get. Oh, I thought you were asking Matt to leave. Matt, you should go.
- 51:17You outstage your will. You should go. You should go [ __ ] Star Wars. That'd be
- 51:20great. Yeah. Yeah. Um, I've got some other Star Wars news
- 51:24just quickly before we move on as well. Okay. Oh, no. I I I navigated away to
- 51:30the Alba page. I am going to see Star Wars next month. Oh, no. It's over here.
- 51:36See, speaking of us being old, are you going to see Revenge of the Sith?
- 51:42No, it's the 20th anniversary of Revenge of Revenge of the Sith. I know. Isn't
- 51:48that [ __ ] Isn't that completely [ __ ] That's the one that I was already old
- 51:52when it came out. That can't be 20 years ago. It's not possible. Apparently, it
- 51:57is. No, I was just going to I'm just going to cuz they'll do the normal May
- 52:01the 4th. They'll do the screenings and I'm I'll go see at least Star Wars and
- 52:06Empire. Yeah. It's nice to see him on the big
- 52:11screen every now and again. I went back to I I saw and I'm sure you all did too.
- 52:17Did you guys go and see the special editions when they were a new concept?
- 52:21Yeah. Like 92 or whenever that was 94? I went every day cuz they released on a
- 52:27Thursday. I'd skip Sport and go to the
- 52:30movies to watch it. Yeah. Yeah. No, I
- 52:34saw them all. loved it. That are amazing cuz that was our first chance to see on
- 52:40the big screen. Yep. Special edition. Sure. But that's what we at the time. I
- 52:45wasn't really like thinking about it. I was kind of
- 52:48like, oh wow, I'm going to see this new thing. And then later on it was kind of
- 52:52like the changes were like return. I was I didn't go to see it for the changes.
- 52:57And I I remember thinking when I saw Empire Strikes Back that
- 53:03like, oh, these are good changes. Empire had the least amount of
- 53:08changes running from 100 Stormtroopers instead of six, you know, it just it
- 53:13made more sense. But um No, I think Empire had the least amount of changes.
- 53:17Star War the first one had the Luke screaming when he falls down the the
- 53:23shaft, which is a bit weird. That's true. But they didn't put a CGI singer
- 53:29with big lips coming at the camera. They didn't do that. They did do that. Oh
- 53:35god, that song. And here's the thing. Return of the Jedi is my least favorite
- 53:40of the three existing Star Wars movies, right? Um,
- 53:46and but I think the first act, like the first 30 minutes of that is some of the
- 53:52best Star Wars that exists. It's as good as anything in the other two movies.
- 53:56Like, don't put dumb stuff in that sequence. Like, make the
- 54:01[ __ ] I don't care. I hated them anyway. Even as a kid, I was like, nah,
- 54:06this isn't Star Wars. First sequence. But anyway, there's more Star Wars
- 54:11movies coming and they have confirmed which ones are and which ones aren't.
- 54:15So, here is the list. Mhm. Okay. Yeah. Ruin Johnson.
- 54:21Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, George, Favro,
- 54:27Mandalorian, and Gru. Obviously, that's Yeah, they showed footage of that or
- 54:31something, I believe. I don't care. Don't care. Then there is James Mangold
- 54:37who did Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Uh, and Logan um doing Dawn of
- 54:44the Jedi, which is is that one set like hundreds of years before, isn't it?
- 54:50Yeah. set when discovery star Michelle Trackctenberg as Dawn but uh we've got
- 54:55some news about that and they were going to it was going to open on a crack of
- 54:58dawn shot um but uh
- 55:05and now it is not to watch Euro trip if you want to see that. Yeah, we do have
- 55:10some MH Treenberg news later in the after party. Uh Euro trip the one she
- 55:15was in. Yeah. Yes, it was definitely definitely Euro Trip. Yeah, Scotty
- 55:19doesn't know. Do you know what's funny? Yeah. I was [Music]
- 55:24thinking the other day I'm like, "Oh, now that M T Stretchber's dead, I might
- 55:29rewatch um the Lost in Space movie." And I was like, she's not her. She's not in
- 55:35that. It's the other one.
- 55:40She was She's significantly younger than the girls I liked when I was just to put
- 55:47that out there. Like when we watched Buffy, she was literally a child. That's
- 55:50what I'm saying. Yes. Well, yeah. She was she was 39 died. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 55:56And we were watching her when we were 18. Mhm.
- 56:01So she would have been what? 13? No. She's literally in Buffy. Yeah. She was
- 56:07like a little kid, right? How old was Tell that to
- 56:13Jos. not allowed to be in the same room as her alone. It says 39 years. That's
- 56:18the AI being stupid. Not when she died. She
- 56:24was blah blah blah. Come on.
- 56:2915 when she was playing
- 56:32Dawn. Okay. So there is also a
- 56:38movie directed by Charmaine Oayed Chinoi who is a Pakistani journalist and
- 56:45political activist. Okay. Making is
- 56:49going to be directing the next Ray movie. Oh okay. Can can you can you not
- 56:55do that? So that is on the list. Dave Fona is
- 57:01building towards a New Republic movie. culminating the story lines of
- 57:05Mandalorian and
- 57:10assa's movie is still technically green lit, but he's only handed in the first
- 57:16act. Uh oh, no, he's handed in it all. They only like the first act. He's been
- 57:21asked to rewrite the rest. That's not okay.
- 57:28Yeah. Had so many books. No mention of Ryan Johnson.
- 57:35I still love the Ryan Johnson one. He brings it up every now and again. I
- 57:38don't know if he still does, but since his his movie came out, Disney has never
- 57:42spoken of it again. Yeah, they did say at one point it's
- 57:48still on the on the books, right? Didn't they? Or did I think they were just
- 57:51being nice maybe? Yeah, I think I think they said, "Oh, well, it's not it's not
- 57:56technically I mean, whatever you think about um The Last Jedi, it was divisive
- 58:03and they don't want I hate I hate what
- 58:06he did to Luke Skywalker." Yeah, I know.
- 58:11Yeah. So did Mark Hamill. Yeah. So, there's also a trilogy cuz they just got
- 58:18to have someone doing a trilogy. quite a trilogy. Being helmed by the director of X-Men:
- 58:24Days of Future Past, which I thought was excellent. Oh, yeah.
- 58:28Uh, so we'll see.
- 58:34That's all of them. That's all of them. That's That's it. That we're um there's
- 58:39been no Star Wars movie news for quite a while. It's interesting. They've got a
- 58:43they have got a bunch going on because well either there hasn't been Star Wars
- 58:48movie news or we just didn't care. I think they slowed down because I think
- 58:51they realized that what they were doing wasn't working
- 58:55out trash. It was bought by a TV studio who have a streaming platform as their
- 59:01number one product. They're going to want to make shows so they can put it on
- 59:04that. Hey, we get Andal season 2 very
- 59:07soon. Looks quite good in it.
- 59:11I didn't know that. Is he new? He was also in Rogue One. Yeah. Yeah. New
- 59:17trailer cuz Krennic is back. He was in it and I think Vader's in it too.
- 59:22Looking for the trailer at least one shot Ben Mendelson. So that's good.
- 59:27Unless they're just doing a fake out in which case he's not in it. And it I mean
- 59:31don't do that. Well advertise Rogue One trailer which has nothing to do with the
- 59:36movie called Rogue One. It's just shots cool stuff. Gareth Evans thought was
- 59:41awesome and he was correct. But he it was also right not to include a lot of
- 59:46that cool stuff in the movie cuz it would have been terrible. Bring it out.
- 59:50Just let me see it. Just let me see it once. I want to see the ending on there
- 59:54on the beach formal all over again. Like what was that ending? I want to see the
- 59:58ending where she's fighting Krennic in a tie fighter on the top of a tower. Yeah.
- 1:00:04She wasn't fighting Krennic. She was running over to the thing.
- 1:00:08But he was in a tie fighter shooting at it, wasn't he? I don't know that it was
- 1:00:11him in the tie fighter. No, we have to go back and look
- 1:00:15at it. I think you have just decided that that's cannon now. It's the shot is
- 1:00:19in the movie. It's her running to the to the radio thing on the tower. No, but in
- 1:00:24my head in the trailer, Tie Fighter comes up in in and you don't see who's
- 1:00:28in it. In my head, it was him. I mean, I mean, maybe it was, but I think it was
- 1:00:33Die Hardman in that. I think I think you're right. Just to
- 1:00:39cap off the drinking game, just before we go over to the afterparty, there's an
- 1:00:43episode of um uh Rick and Morty. Peter
- 1:00:47Dinklage is guest starring in it. Is he? And uh Yes. Yes. He plays this alien mob
- 1:00:53boss, but um
- 1:00:56uh the the daughter starts doing a die hard and Dinglage as a mothball boss.
- 1:01:02They're on the phone, you know, cuz in die hard they got the the radios. And
- 1:01:05he's like, "Are you doing a die hard?" She's like, "I don't know. Are you doing
- 1:01:09a die hard to me?" And he's like, "Well, you wouldn't know because I if I'm doing
- 1:01:12a die hard." It's it's very funny. It's funny that I'm explaining it. I watched
- 1:01:17just I know Star Wars reminded me was clips of Filamina Kunk on um YouTube. So
- 1:01:23talking to that historian and she's like, "Who was the Darth Vader of World
- 1:01:27War II?" And you know that that guy who's very serious. He goes, "I don't
- 1:01:30think anybody in World War II was quite as powerful as someone like Darth
- 1:01:34Vader." And she goes, "Luke Skywalker." And he go he's like, "I don't know. I
- 1:01:39think probably a lot of people probably thought they were sort of heroic like a
- 1:01:43Luke Skywalker." And it just becomes this very serious conversation. So
- 1:01:46funny. Amazing. Yeah. Do you like Abba? I love Abba. I love
- 1:01:52Aba. What's your favorite song? Dancing Queen. Queen. Without missing a beat. So
- 1:01:59funny. Can we talk about something else other than history? You can talk about
- 1:02:02anything you want. Love like ever. I love that voice. She goes, "Tell me what
- 1:02:08was the deal with the Soviet onion." And he goes, "Well, I think you mean Soviet
- 1:02:13Union, but if you do want to talk about Russian vegetables, we could do that."
- 1:02:16She goes, "Tell, okay, tell me Russian vegetables." He goes, "Well, they've got
- 1:02:18a lot of potatoes and a lot of love that guy."
- 1:02:24Yeah. He's like, "Sure, we could do this." King Arthur came a lot.
- 1:02:33The show is so funny. Listers, if you have witnesses, if you don't know
- 1:02:36Filamina Kunk, Yeah. look up. She's just so good at doing it with a straight
- 1:02:41face. I don't know how she does it. Yeah. But even the people she's
- 1:02:47interviewing, I don't know how they keep a straight face as well sometimes.
- 1:02:53I think Yeah. If you're if you're being filmed and you're
- 1:02:57on like you've been told you're going to be interviewed about this subject you're
- 1:03:00a subject matter expert in and someone asks you a [ __ ] stupid questions of
- 1:03:03camera there you'd be like what do I do I just go with this it's for a TV show
- 1:03:07just play this straight there's like kind of an implicit get sound later just
- 1:03:11go with it kind of thing but they they would know that they're on for a comedy
- 1:03:15show like it and must know cuz he's been on a couple
- 1:03:20times but he's just very good at rolling with it. Yeah, he must know it's not real.
- 1:03:26It's all but I thought that about Borat and uh and Ri, but there was a long time
- 1:03:31there where they got he got mileage out of that when I was like people know who
- 1:03:35he is. But that's why the latest Borat movie is genius because he's going
- 1:03:39around with this girl. Oh, yeah. His daughter. And she's the one doing that
- 1:03:44stuff and he just films pre-recorded stuff with her going, "Okay, go and do
- 1:03:48this crazy thing." It's okay. cuz he couldn't do it now. He'd be like, "Hey,
- 1:03:53it's Borat." No, he's he could maybe do a new character, but like he couldn't do
- 1:03:58Borat. Everyone [ __ ] knows who I don't want him to do it. I I didn't care for that.
- 1:04:04I liked the original Borat stuff. It was very funny. Yeah, I thought the Borat
- 1:04:09sequel was was good, too. Man, have you seen that one where he's going, he's in America?
- 1:04:15When this was on, none of us lived in America, but now one of us does, so
- 1:04:19don't be offended, Matt. But he's in America. [ __ ] watch. He's on a hunt.
- 1:04:23I'll [ __ ] tariff you so hard. Yeah. Come out with all those those
- 1:04:29weapons you're going to build in America from American
- 1:04:33parts. We buy ours from China. We know they work.
- 1:04:38Um, but he's a hunt animal hunting trip with these guys in there in this jeep.
- 1:04:44and he's like, "Uh, so after we kill the animals, we kill uh we kill a Jew." And
- 1:04:51uh they're like, "Well, obviously that would be something we would be
- 1:04:54interested in killing Jews, but uh unfortunately the laws of this country
- 1:04:58forbid that what? Yeah. To just get people to say
- 1:05:05[ __ ] like that is genius." I think there is because isn't that those college the college
- 1:05:11kids sued because yeah there is an implicit thing when you're being filmed that it's
- 1:05:16like do I just go along with this kind of thing I don't know it's it's weird in
- 1:05:21a way it's like a little coercive in a way right right yeah like you don't
- 1:05:26want to be the person who's like no no go no I don't think this is although I
- 1:05:32in that case in the case of someone's like do should we go in I mean yeah you
- 1:05:36know what you can put a sound bite of me not being a Nazi all over the internet.
- 1:05:40Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I should clarify. What I'm talking about is just
- 1:05:44kunk or being silly like that where someone literally said, "Do you want to
- 1:05:47go murder anybody?" I'd be like, "No." Oh, thanks. Yeah, I'm good. Yeah. Well,
- 1:05:52would you because there was that what's that experiment where they get people to
- 1:05:56just they keep saying just please I might joke about it if I was thought it
- 1:06:00was just a a show. I might make a little gag, but I wouldn't I wouldn't do what
- 1:06:05what that guy does and be like, well, you know, I'd love to do that, but I'm
- 1:06:07not allowed to. I would not do that. Yes. Well, you would. No, it would work
- 1:06:13when you push the button. Yeah. And screaming. Everyone kept pushing the
- 1:06:17button, but then you could hear a scream somewhere in the background. Well, no.
- 1:06:20They actually found out in this test, they actually found that the women were
- 1:06:23more likely to push the button because it was a man in a lab coat sort of so
- 1:06:28more official. I believe that was a test. So women were no you're asking me
- 1:06:32to do this when the men would I think would push back a little bit more I
- 1:06:36should get a lab coat and then women would do what I tell them to do. Is that
- 1:06:40what you're saying? That's exactly what I'm saying. And also when I said that I
- 1:06:43wouldn't do what that guy did. I didn't mean that I would want to do it but I
- 1:06:46wouldn't. What I mean is that is jumping through a lot of hoops here. Oh I just
- 1:06:50realized that that does sound quite bad. It's like I'm not going to admit to that
- 1:06:54on television. Now what I mean is it's not what I meant to Yeah.
- 1:07:00No matter what you think. Yeah. You don't catch me like that.
- 1:07:07You know where they can catch you? Where? Outside. The after party. Oh,
- 1:07:12remember that? Catch me outside. Catch me outside. How about that? 15 minutes.
- 1:07:16Yeah. Yeah. She She's not the after. Is the Hawk tour girl still famous or is
- 1:07:21that over already? No, she's disappeared. No, she didn't. She come back and say
- 1:07:26she did an interview where she said basically she said she doesn't know what
- 1:07:29the [ __ ] she's doing and she's absolving herself of any responsibility. That's
- 1:07:34sort of it. She sort of disappeared from that. Frankly, I believe that to be
- 1:07:38honest. They told her she'd make a bunch of money and okay. Yeah. People got to
- 1:07:42her and they went, "We're going to make a lot of money off you." They promised
- 1:07:45her a lot of stuff and then she should have known better, but she clearly
- 1:07:49didn't. I I think she's still walking away with a few hundred,000
- 1:07:53for 15 minutes of fame. I Yeah,
- 1:07:57it's not like uh someone like Boogie, you know, Boogie 298 did a rug pull. I'm
- 1:08:03pretty sure he knew what was going on. Oh, maybe not. He probably again, he's
- 1:08:07desperate. Maybe they just told him. He got people hear what they want to hear
- 1:08:11and I believe. I think he didn't care. I think he just Anyone offers him money,
- 1:08:14he'd do it. You're right. Yeah, probably right. I think she was a little more
- 1:08:19purchased nerdcoin. Gasmcoin coingasm. coin.
- 1:08:25Yeah, we even did a logo for it. You can you the coin? We don't accept it as
- 1:08:31payment for the after party, unfortunately. No, but we would accept
- 1:08:34it as payment for gifts that you buy us.
- 1:08:39Why from us? They're going to pay us coin gasm to buy us gifts. No, no, we
- 1:08:46don't want it back. If you buy the coin, it's yours. We don't want it back. Yeah,

- 1:08:52they're going to use that money to buy us gifts. I'm going to use the money
- 1:08:56they give me to buy a rug. And then I'm going to pull that out. Pull the rug. I
- 1:09:00don't I don't quite understand the process, but I've been told that's a
- 1:09:03good way to make money. Yes. You get a rug. Don't you have your own Bitcoin so
- 1:09:07that Russian leaders can bribe you anonymously? That isn't it? Isn't that
- 1:09:13Is that how that works? Isn't that what you do? Why is Putin bribing
- 1:09:17us? I I don't have the coin. I'm not the one with a coin, mate.
